I have to tell you that the COVID19 crisis has hit the Saker Community pretty hard. So far, I know of nobody who has a confirmed COVID19 infection (2 suspected and unconfirmed), but that is not the only way that this pandemic has affected us. A lot of us are now under house quarantine or have already lost their jobs; other are worried for their spouses (due to age, comorbidity, etc.). Some are sick with other conditions and now cannot get treated. And, finally, it is pretty evident that things will get only worse before they get better again. So here is my first request to everybody:
Please cut us some slack, including the moderators, translators, IT-specialists, webmasters and, finally, yes, even myself. Please understand that we are all doing our best in the midst of a plague (literally!).
The blog itself was also affected directly by the huge shift in comments quality.
The most remarkable and disturbing development was a major spike in all sorts of trolling, ranging from government paid trolls to various “spontaneous nutcases”. Just as shocking as the absolute nonsense most trolls were posting (remember the “it is a racist bioweapon which affects only Asians” for example?) was the ugly nastiness of many commentaries. Normally, we have about 2-3 well-known trolls which always post the same insults (literally) and which we have banned a long time ago. Other intercepted comments broke a posting rule, but were not necessarily that nasty. This has now changed: we are dealing with about 30-40+ per day (on top of the normal comments!). This is not acceptable.
Furthermore, when toll “X” had a comment intercepted, he/she would usually come back with another flurry of comments protesting against “censorship” even though these folks typically never even bothered to even look up what the commenting rules on this blog were (they are here:https://10.16.86.131/moderation-policy/). In particular, I want to draw your attention to the new rule I added today:

I am banning any comments which mention, even indirectly, the medical aspects of SARS-COV-2/COVID19 including, but not limited to: origin, prevention, effects on health, treatments and putative “non-existence” (including the “its just like the flu” kind). However, I am specifically ALLOWING comments about the political, ideological, social and economic aspects of SARS-COV-2/COVID19. Any attempt to “smartass & bypass” this ban will result with an immediate removal from the infringing comment. A second attempt will result in a permanent ban. Finally, the sole exception to this rule is the Moveable Feast Café https://10.16.86.131/category/moveable-feast-cafe/.
I took this decision because not only because of trolls.
Here is the second phenomenon which we all have observed during the past weeks and months: there is an immense tsunami of misinformation and rumors drowning our already suffering planet with false hopes, dangerous fear-mongering and simply good old baloney. But cutting out any and all discussions about the medical aspects of this crisis we cut out an entire army of self-appointed SARS-COV-2/COVID19 “specialists”! True, the same can happen with the non-medical aspects, but here I and my moderators do have the expertise to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Last but not least, this is not a medical blog and the Saker Community is not a medical one.
Frankly, by flooding the blog with SARS-COV-2/COVID19 related articles and comments we are suffering what economist call “opportunity costs”, that is we are not posting something else which might be far more appropriate for our community.
For this reason and starting Monday I will not be accepting any submissions (articles/SITREPS/etc) which will discuss the medical aspects of SARS-COV-2/COVID19. If I get one today or tomorrow Sunday I will still post it, but I will not allow comments.

Excellent. At the beginning I said, it doesn’t matter if it is a weapon or not, where it first started etc… Only what matters is economics and the impact on society.
Also, many downplayed the developments (loss of freedoms, rise of the fascist state) until they got hit financially. Then they changed their tune.
And no. This is not a test run. This scam is so big, the elites might not be able to pull it off again bcs too many will wake up from the matrix in the meantime. This is the real thing. Now they will go all the way. They must.
I am happy to report that finally, I can agree with something you have said. I don’t believe this is a test run. There are big things, including the belt and road, and countries finding other ways to engage in trade outside the petro-dollar and the elite corporatists and bankers of the rules-based world order have no intention of letting their plans go by the wayside. So, they are going for the entire ball of wax. I could describe what I think is in our immediate future but I will let someone else start that conversation. We will be seeing these horrors with our own eyes soon enough.
It is very difficult to ignore the medical aspect and talk only of the political/social/economic etc. Because all the political, social and economic measures are justified on certain medical aspects which are far from clear. But I will not talk about it.

I am very sorry to hear that you personally AND the Saker community have been hit hard by this situation.
Corona seems to have taken over the airwaves and blotted out large portions of the the rest of the world.
Corona also seems to have given many commenters (are the new arrivals?) on our indispensable alternative blogs the feeling that they now have a license to conduct themselves like boors to make their points and discredit and put down others and their questions and ideas in the most obnoxious fashion.
It is so important to keep covering and analyzing the rest of what is going on in the world.
Re donations, my practice has always been to make a small donation when asked. To me this seemed to be the most reliable, predictable way to donate. As opposed to making larger donations less often.
I can commit to making an automatic smallish donation every month via my credit card for some months. It might be an idea worth considering to ask members of the community to commit to regular monthly donations, even if small, to make things more predictable.

Larchmonter, I have an off-topic question and I hope nobody minds this once. Besides, suffering from Covid overload, something off-topic might be a relief. You use Yandex. Father Andrew from my parish has started holding services using zoom which is really fantastic. Using Ubuntu and chromium for some reason the video button didn’t work. So I am using Yandex for the zoom liturgy. It is only slightly annoying that with every new page loaded I have to translate it from Russian into English. I can live with that. But often a page will be translated but any control buttons remain in Russian, leaving me guessing what will happen when I click one. Is there a way to have Yandex browser translate into English everything on a page?

But is there really an international court, or is it more of an opinion, nothing is enforceable, which makes it closer to a debate forum than a court house setting.
The way I see it is as follows: Some groups in the US have tried before and continue to try to impose the superior rule of the US court (usually in the NY) over every body else. Hence the change of Russian Constitution to enforce the Russian Law which underlines that only the Russian Constitution and Russian courts are valid for Russian citizens. This automatically excludes any external attempts at extortion. Ukies tried it, although there may have been some giving-ins by the Russians.

I have been reading this blog and MOA for a long time, and prior to the last couple of days almost never commented.
The gist is that I am not buying that this is some sort of world takeover and that we dont have a crisis on our hands.
It seems that the posts from Ramin and Pepe lately are poo-pooing the idea that this is a crisis and instead is an attempt to take over the world.
Either way, crisis or attempted world takeover, isnt it a little early to be too certain of either case?
Do you, the Saker, believe that this is the latter? Does the general community believe this is the case?
And just for the record, my initial response to all of this was that it was blown way out of proportion, that the virus was probably not much to worry about. Seeing the spread lately worldwide, I think it probably is something to worry about.
I fully understand how corrupt my government is, and I dont trust them at all. I have been hit very hard by this, I have lost my job, and I might not qualify for unemployment, I am almost broke and the future looks bleak.
I sincerely hope this gets posted, I am not trying to circumvent any rules, I simply want to know where you and the community stand on this issue.
I think where they’re coming from is not that this is not a crisis, but that we’ve had MUCH bigger health crisises before & not shut down the whole world … ie. the last major pandemic, the H1N1 influenza pandemic of 2009.

The military was in desperate straights, they are/were about to become irrelevant from the top down, what better way to play your last card than to shut down the courts as long as possible to prolong your destiny of demise, yes, the military would do this no matter the hardship of its own ranks or innocent worldly civilians.
Just look at what happened to that capt when he did not follow the chain of command, which would have kept secret the plague affecting its ranks. The elders have always used the youth to fight their battles, and as the president said, we are at war w/this bug.
I am wary of violating the new rules for posting so I am going to keep it short, and try to keep within the guidelines.
We have never in modern times had any virus or disease spread over the entire globe this quickly and to this degree. In light of that, I think our first priority is stopping this from spreading. We are still in the beginning stages, so it is too early to come to very many conclusions. The only conclusion that I think is safe to assume right now it that this is more contagious than anything we have ever dealt with. We can modify our response as we learn more.
The first response to fire is to put it out, investigating, changing regulations, etc., comes later. I say this realizing that this is going to be incredibly damaging to our economy. Though not as damaging as doing nothing and letting the crisis get worse.
I think my questions have been answered. I read the Saker’s post of 3/24 where he stated “As for myself and my family, we have decided to also go on voluntary quarantine not so much because we believe that we might avoid the virus, as to give us more time before we get sick.” So, he evidently feels this is serious.
As far as the community is concerned, that’s more of a mixed bag, and has always been that way, maybe a little more to the unfounded and sometimes irrational speculation side lately. But that is to be expected during stressful times, thankfully a lot of the reasonable people who have kept me coming here to read for years are still here.

I don’t have any answers to your post but after I read some things at the World Economic Forum many questions popped up in my head.
First off I thought about how in depth this response is and the 100s of thousands of documents which must have taken decades to assemble. This has been in the planning for a long time, it is coordinated among all nations of the world, and not a theory but is being done to us all.

Hopefully, things will be back to normal-ish by august/september. Although I’m not holding my breath. The peak of cases is likely to be in june, by then we’ll be in the millions of cases. And then it should decline from there. But it’s still going to be a huge catastrophe, with extremely unpredictable consequences that will affect our lives for many years to come.
This is a dark time for our country and the world, but to be honest, I think humanity needed this jolt to wake them from complacency, as inconvenient as it may be.

But it could also be this:
People stuck at home. They browse the ‘net. They find this site. They find (“Oh, my God”) opinions that contradict the corporate media spin.
So they post the drivel that they picked up in the corporate media hoping to “educate” us “poor uninformed conspiracy theorists.”
All too plausible I’m afraid. But they are easy to spot. The problem is that the views of ill-informed and politically illiterate will get mixed up with well-argued and researched articles resulting in a swirling ideological mess which will invalidate the whole purpose of the site. An ideological contamination akin to coronavirus. This would be difficult to control and of course any attempt at quality control will result in accusations of being anti-free speech. But if the MSM bans our views we will need to restrict theirs.
I think this is a very wise decision.
Some questions are difficult and divisive in a manner that could overwhelm a community. In such cases one may need to focus.
I think it really is a solutions that fits everyone because with the Movable feast café there is still is a limited space for questions, ideas or links to discussions on other platforms or in other communities.

And if the fed simply buys up all the new treasuries, the effect will be to completely debauche the value of the currency. When that happens inflation follows. And the fed can’t raise rates to fight inflation since raising rates would cause massive defaults in an incredibly indebted nation.
Once the dollar becomes worthless, the US won’t be able to buy foreign goods with worthless dollars.

Unfortunately I think it will weaken the citizens first, if this goes much past May (and it probably will), the people will suffer economically which will lead to much worse things. As far as countries and treasuries we could simply print the debt away and yes just how will this monetary inflation affect the empire, they wont need to bother with finding people to buy treasuries, that will be done in house.
But so many different countries are affected by this and feeding your citizens is #1, as we are mostly a bread basket nation so I dont see a problem there, its hard to say about the dollar though, and just when and how a devaluation of it occurs. From my observations, 99,9% just follow orders. Military men too. The few on top (military, gov) have either signed up to this or don’t want to loose their privileges going against the current developments.

People should have a listen to Mike Adams of naturalnews.com. I certainly consider him a true American patriot and hero who genuinely cares for people but I am totally against his constant criticism of China. I suspect that he has been deeply influenced by his Taiwanese friends. However, in regard to the virus and I really hope the Russian government takes note as well as all other countries, he suggests that in addition to the basic advice we’ve given regarding hygiene and social distancing, he suggests the following:
1. Compulsory wearing of face masks. They do work.
2. Free supply of zinc supplements. Zinc is a huge defence against the virus. As well use other vitamins and nutraceuticals we now know fight all viruses, especially high dose vitamin C. (Also see Dr Andrew Saul’s vitamin protocol).
3. Use the anti-malaria/antibiotic drug protocol that has been found effective. That being Hydroxy-chloroquine and zithromax.
And my own suggestion is that all governments put in place an immediate ban on the sale of cigarettes. Statistics show most victims are smokers. If they can ban us from going out surely they can ban smoking.

Anthony, I agree with your thoughts, if you visited the Cafe you may have seen many comments in the past about the spiritual aspect of this “war” which is ongoing , not being something that came in yesterday, last year or a hundred years ago, the Fear is an important aspect of it, therfore, this is a Spiritual War in its essence. The human science, in cahoots with the always actaul political leadership and orientation has brainwashed the large majority of people marginalizing their spiritual roots, inducing a loss of equillibrum in the individual being, thus weakening their body. Applying even the smallest amount of logic says Wuhan deaths x10 to the power of 2. And that I believe is an underestimate. All countries are underreporting. It is not in the International interests of any country to accurately report dead to sick ratios.
They have been wearing masks for quite some time with the air pollution, this is not a new or different thing.
And what exactly do people have to gain by under reporting numbers? We are not talking about logic, thats out the door, people are once again safely walking the streets of the city after just 2 short months, lets see how the west does with this regard and if the virus can make a comeback. If it can, you’ll hear about it in China first, and they will then lock the place down again, if you dont hear of a lock down, you can figure all is getting better, if the #’s were bad, they would be getting worse, not safely walking the streets.
I believe if you were on the ground in Wuhan you would recognize that the ‘illness’ remains to a great degree, meaning the new norm is everyone gets progressively more sick and lethargic due to electromagnetic radiation. The initial burst of deaths (which was severely under reported) was an immune response to the radiation effects in those who already had compromised health. The extra radiation pushed them over the edge, so to speak. Once the electrification levels in the environment change, people do adapt, in the most basic sense, but their underlying health is lower, their immunity is weaker, and their genetic pool is altered.
Do you know how far human fertility has fallen since the advent of radio technology? Do you understand how WiFi was designed as a tool of population control? The effects of our current WiFi will become obvious – to those who have the sense to look – scientifically in the next decade.
I’m not saying Jesus is coming back, nor am I advocating that this is the end of the world, this is an ongoing invisible war, with invisible weapons (spiritual and physical) and the vast vast majority of the numbed masses haven’t the faintest idea of what is occurring, nor do they understand what is bearing down on them. Modern day Christians have been bogged down by their own conformity to Church designated dogma to raise themselves to higher knowledge. The understanding of evil, evil spirits, occult societies and occult technologies is disdained by modern Christians, they wallow in a pseudo spiritual materialistic doctrine that somehow accepts the spiritual world, but only as a confined and bounded interface with the material realm, as if it has no impact on their lives at all. One of the most important things I have learned to do when out-of-the-blue events occur is remember Ephesians 6:12 – “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
When something happens (this virus, for example) this is where I turn, and wonder what’s happening in the spiritual realm that might explain it. We will never know, of course, but we DO know what the end game is, because the Book of Revelation tells us. My current fear is that the rulers of the darkness of this world are using the virus as cover for pulling whatever strings are needed to make it happen.
Sure, other events have to occur as well (Daniel 9), but the ongoing power grab prevalent now in many countries under the guise of combating the virus is obvious. Last week former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown went on record demanding a World Government. We have many countries on lock down, where only essential services are operating, but mysteriously 5G implementation is part of that, the ultimate surveillance state…. That’s not a coincidence, in my opinion.
When this pandemic has burnt out I expect my liberties to be severely curtailed. I expect that Bill Gate’s demand for a digital health certificate will be pushed to the fore (Mark of the Beast, anyone?). Dark times that will get darker, I think.

At least three toxins are used much more then before WW1.
Mercury, aluminum and fluoride.
All of them inhibit various enzymes and there is little research on how toxic those are in combination. The metals are neurotoxic and may amplify the effects of electromagnetic radiation.
Fluoride calcifies the pineal gland, one symptom of mercury intoxication is change in behaviour and so on.
There are ways to detox but that is serious business.

I greatly appreciate this post. What you said here confirms what I have been experiencing with friends and political associates, a deluge of what you are talking about. It is my belief that powerful forces do not want the world to come together to help each other to deal with COVID-19. If the U.S. works with Russia and China on the COVID-19, the neo-cons and neo-libs will be somewhat disrobed, and their propaganda undermined. For that reason, I think this blog, myself, and many others are experiencing such a deluge.

The “Swastikas” are ancient symbols of good luck that were co-opted by the nazis. I am not sure of the origin of the symbol, but it dates back to at least to the times of the Buddha, possibly farther than that. There are many, many statues of the Buddha, as well as, many ancient pagodas that have this symbol on them.
That does not mean that people cannot use that symbol to represent nazis or fascism or just pure hatred, but in any eastern culture, such as India, I would not immediately assume that that is the intended meaning of the symbol.
It would require context to make that determination.

Prelude:
I have read many thinker’s posts, most intelligent ones share similar view – the virus story does not make 100% sense, there must be something (presumably sinister) going on that the powers are not telling us (all politicians lie, there is no arguments about that), we just cannot figure it out, but the most puzzling part is that both sides, western and eastern-alike are all into it, obviously for some obscure reason…
I personally went trough all the iterations before, guided by the Occam’s razor principle, formulated a conspiracy theory of mine – as what did not make sense was all the conspiracy theories I read…
The Great-Cool-Down theory:
In a large scale of things, what’s happening is a very good thing…
If we are to learn from the (messy) history, every time a global economic bubble (inherently unsustainable economics) develop, it happened to end abruptly, causing massive losses – be it a war (one, two) or economic collapse (great depression, black Monday, 2008/2009).
So, reading trough the MSMs, I see that the US president announced sometimes at the end of 2019 that he thinks that the trade war with China (and the rest of the world) will be resolved soon.
My take on that announcement was to ask myself (as no one was coming forward with any reasonable explanation) to what caused this trade war anyways – definitely not the alleged “narcissist” personality of the US president.
The answer I came to was, that any good president would have done, is to look for a way to get the American economy out of the economic mess it was in without reverting to what his historical predecessor had chosen – to allow economic collapses (bubble-bursts) and lead the country into endless wars to absorb the following economic impact.
So, as my conspiracy theory goes, he must have agreed the following with the Chinese:
In early 2020 Chinese will play out a small farce – say over 2 months period – the net result of which will be less suffering, increased health aid to the population in that period, persuade (maybe portray that to the western media as coercing) the population to be lock-down at their homes, hope that the western MSMs will use the word “house arrest” to amplify the scenario – in short, the plan relies on western MSMs to blow everything out of proportion, as they usually do :-)
Then, get the agreement of the world leaders that this is a great opportunity and a moment in history to seize to cool-down the over-heated economy instead of letting it eventually burst and avoid the unnecessary suffering in the process.
In short, lets do controlled collapse instead of letting things collapse uncontrollably…
The net result, when everything cools-down, the world would become a much leaner economy, end up with much better competitive societies – surely, the political problems would not be solved, but the world would have to deal with one less problem.
As we live in a globally interwoven economy, everyone would be affected – and the hotter, more inflated economies will have to take longer to release the steam, so all countries would have to get onto this bandwagon, as soon as this plan unravels…
In virus speak, each country, proportionally to the “hotness” of their economy will have to show more infected cases, more deaths (without basis for year-on-year comparison figures) and more importantly, longer, multiple times extended lock-down periods, as all economises fine-tune the extend of the cool-down process.
So the plan (as per my conspiracy theory) goes as follows in 4 simple steps:
(a) reduce the the local economic activity on a maximum scale – non-essential businesses must close and their workers must stay home – the less activity and interaction, the less chance of the uncontrolled crowd hysteria developing and releasing their destructive energy on the streets,
(b) allow the unsustainable businesses (any size) and uncompetitive workers to naturally collapse without dragging the heathy entities in the process (inflated stock markets and derivatives begone),
(c) governments provide minimal financial help to the uncompetitive workers (within the framework of social and emergency financial aid, none to the uncompetitive businesses,
(d) provide aid to the sustainable businesses so they could elegantly recover from the “cool-down” when everything reverts to normal in the form of easy-term or equity loans (hmmm…nationalisation in the latter case, but this would be the nice price to pay, for the greater good, right?)
So, lets recap – and look at what’s happening in the world from my freshly minted conspiracy theory perspective:
1. China recovers in 2 months, during that time the reported suffering of severe respiratory syndrome illnesses this year are fewer than before, less suffering, the government ends up providing greater care to their people and everyone is happy.
2. Italy (the hottest economy in Europe) explodes (in reported cases and deaths) necessitating longer cool-down period, all below-water businesses and uncompetitive workers are wiped out, the rest patiently sing on the balconies, waiting for this to end so they can return to their (better now) lives.
3. France (viva-la-liberte) is almost there, split between the revolutionary (yellow) vests and the comfortably numb reality pushed by the MSMs, mostly conforming at the end.
4. Spain (hot you cannot touch it) follows, people now conform without asking questions, MSM hysteria is mainly ignored, everyone is taking time to spend with their family, cracking jokes about the Italians and the French.
5. The Eastern Europe (not as hot, but firmly in economic bottom) comply as they would, without challenging the official narrative, as senseless it may sound – not a lot of fat to trim off that bacon though, so following the guidelines of Brussels, pretending that they are Europe too…
6. Iran is seemingly a strange one, as compared to Venezuela, Cuba and Serbia, they have one significant difference – although they all suffer the consequences of an global economic attack, Iranian economy is starved, but resilient – hence the need to cool-down with a twist – a political cool-down to quench the political attacks from abroad.
7. As is Russia – not really in need of economic cool-down, but a political cool-down period could bring the best of all, more importantly show the world the true colours of Mother-Russia, one that always takes care of its own, the best way (one week, then one month paid leave, for free and that in addition to the 3 years maternity leave!)
8. And then there is US – the one that caused this to start and the one that needs most time to cool-down and deflate the biggest bubble in history – it may take longer (3-4 months to 1-2 years for this nasty virus to go away, I kid you not is constantly reported by the MSMs) to cool-down the over-inflated economy. There are trillions of dollars available in aids so one should not worry that much. I read reports that a bar-lady that was earning $400 a week now has to (unfortunately) live by a $440 unemployment check locked-down at home. Nasty. But at the end, the true American spirit will prevail, the strong businesses will emerge as strong as ever, the weak ones will be gone, the competitive workforce will be employed again and America will be Great Again.
As for the world – well, the world will be in a much better shape, having gotten there with fewer losses and much, much less pain and suffering – not a political paradise by all means, but with one less problem to deal with.
So, here it is – as I stroll on the nearby beach – the town, usually abuzz with life, cafes full of patrons, people chatty gave way to this spooky, apocalyptic scene form the movie “I am Legend” until I put my pink glasses and then suddenly I saw a sleepy hollow, people at home spending time with their kids, happy, not worrying about tomorrow…

A virus doesn’t simply “go away”.
A virus will stay as long as it has been destroyed and this can only be through vaccines and people with an excellent immune system.
Which means many more healthy people – which, by the way USA doesn’t have. Even without money the lack of a healthy intake and consuming of meals etc. will not take place overnight. USA has about 35 % inhabitants who are obese. Which comes from unhealthy eating habits as well as of unhealthy food.
This goes naturally with other states having a population with too much unhealthy eating habits and unhealthy food. And together with a populace where about 50 millions people haven’t enough income.
Your way of thinking has maybe some good points in it.
However your wishful thinking that USA will rebound and emerge stronger from this “lock down” as before doesn’t sound.
First of all the way big companies and extremely rich people are thinking.
US industries as well as many European and from other continents ones (and with it the jobless working class directly affected) wants to make more and more money. Many companies comprise of shareholders. Those people don’t care about their country (for example USA). All what they want is more money. Point.
The masses in USA have a certain way of thinking: namely extremely individual. Money plays the role – mostly. Europe is nearby with it.
How can a country/state have a miracle when the politicians have no interest at all on it and the populace lacks a collective way of thinking.
“Me first”-thinking will not create this miracle. As well as mainstream media which tells far too many lies and a populace not even interested to know how other people in other continents are thinking and living. Thus a populace is extremely unfit.

What is most fascinating in my opinion is, with which accuracy the document which was written 8 years ago is describing the realities we live in today and how the governments are responding to the pandemic almost accordingly to the document not only in Germany but globally and what the political implications this will have for the entire world in the future and the basic human rights which will almost certainly be infringed upon, such as the freedom of movement and the freedom of association, suspension of the constitution by imposing martial law. Is this where we’re heading for, and what can we do to prevent it from happening?

Couple of things I’ve learned in trying to do my own research on this, whilst running my vast empire consisting of a dog and a laptop …
1. The propaganda blast about this has been awesome. ZeroHedge was passing along stories from GreatGameIndia, The Washington Times, and a couple bloggers I had never heard of. We all sort-of knew The Washington Times as a propaganda outlet, but the others were not so well known. And there isn’t much information about who is behind them, at least not on their ‘about’ pages.
2. Although I have but a mere bachelor’s degree, I have some exposure to the technology behind the molecular biology labs. I hadn’t paid them much attention for a couple decades, but was amazed when reading some of the articles they have recently published. Amazed at how far the state of the art has advanced.
Of course these experiments, from university and high tech centers, are where we get the information now being put into little cartoons and animations showing how a host cell is invaded, and so on. And perhaps it will lead to a vaccine or other remedy in the near future.
The propaganda outlets are not lying about these microscopic, biochemical matters. That starts when they point fingers at someone — now I know that the little cartoons are a distraction, for sleight-of-hand.
Yes, Amerikanski, the more clumsy propaganda attempts are easy to spot, like fenced-off minefields complete with warning signs. That is why he has been meeting President Xi on and off, sometimes on the sidelines of the SCO meetings. There is a long-standing border dispute between India and China. Anyone who has visited both India and China will realize the remarkable cultural and psychological commonalities between these two countries. Unlike the West, both of these civilizations emphasize that the perception of undivided wholeness of the world is its primary feature, and not fragmentation, which is only apparent. There is a remarkable philosophical similarity between the Tao te Ching (The Way of the Tao), written by the great Chinese sage, Lao Tse (contemporary of the Buddha), and the the Vedanta philosophy of India. India is held in great respect by the Chinese people because of the influence of Buddhism, which had its roots in India but later spread to China through Tibet. In the Yonghegong Lama Temple in Beijing, there is a giant 70-ft statue of the Buddha which was carved from a single tree. In this temple, which is funded by the Chinese government, one can see people from all over China who visit it seeking spiritual solace and respite from this materialistic world. In the ancient Buddhist grottoes at Longmen, Luoyang City, Henan Province, central China, the acknowledgment of India’s most precious gift to China can be seen right at the entrance where mention is made of the famous Buddhist caves at Ajanta in India. There is also a huge statue of the Buddha (seated in the lotus position) carved into the face of a mountain at Longmen. I distinctly remember a Chinese lady, saying under her breath, as she gazed up on the giant stone figure of the Awakened One, the following words: “In His eyes, we are all equal.” This acknowledgment can also be observed in the world-famous Shaolin Temple located near Dengfeng City at the base of Songshan mountain in Henan Province. In its precincts is located the cottage of Bodhidharma who came all the way from far-off India to found this temple.
Finally, on your comment: “A great nation, a great civilization does not defecate in public”. You appear to attribute it to some strange facet of Indian culture rather than existing economic conditions of the people. This problem is being addressed as more and more public toilet facilities are built all over the country. China has far-surpassed India in socioeconomic development. It has been able to provide a basic level of economic security to her people, unlike India. There are no slums in Beijing and Shanghai like in Mumbai. This is because of their different historical trajectories in the 20th century. There was no socialist revolution in India similar to what occurred in China. It was this socialist revolution and the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party and Chairman Mao that laid the economic foundation of modern China.

A great Civilization with enormous contributions to Humanity, and a big influence within Chinese culture should conquer the social necessity of development. They were doing well with a good healthy growth rate in recent years, but things began to bog down (Modi’s strange management decisions).
China always talks about the indebtedness of China to India for the highest level influences over the centuries. The present Indian FM, a woman, seemed to be making strides to work out solutions to the issues.
But right from the top, Modi, unlike his predecessor, Singh, comes hard-edged statements that never come from President Xi towards India.
They really need a mediator to work a solution.

Yeah everyone wants India to be like China, Singapore. It’s not possible once you understand the governance. It’s not a totalitarian dictatorship system with a committee and a leader for life. Its a fully federal system where there are 3 lists, Central, State and Concurrent list where every policy falls under. The center can only dismiss local govts under extraordinary circumstances and declare emergency. it has happened only once and the results were undemocratic.
The governance model leaves a lot to be desired but it gives people freedom. More freedom you’ll ever find in the western world. This results in not being able to ramrod policies and since local elections do not fall lock step with central elections and they happen every 5 years, politics and populism gets in the way of governance.
It’s also not a first past the post system, like say, the US where it leads to extreme polarization, but a majority rule where one has to build a coalition and that’s just a byword for horse trading and compromise. Still, its better than first past the post system (and NZ has shown how moving from one the other in 1996 has changed politics for the better there).
Modi’s govt’s issue with China is very simple. China using Pakistan as a proxy to stop India’s progress. Building CPEC through contested land (imagine if USA put a bridge between mainland and ROC). Selling pakistan a nuclear bomb. Blocking India in the UN from becoming permanent member of Security Council. And a lot more.
The previous congress govt was ruled by a bunch of wimps and gays whose only aim was earn a smattering of praise from the west. They wasted 60 years of independence in pursuit of licking their collective boots so they’ll smile at them and sold the country with bad governance and corruption and lawlessness that Modi is trying to fix.
Modi has not threated Xi nor vice versa. But just assuming they should open the front door and back door to BRI is just fantasy. They don’t have to fold.

You forgot to mention, or even whatever thereason was, that Modi, President of India is a Hindu. He is or had surrounded himself with powerful and rich Hindu people of India.
Hindu religion consists of several castes.
The lowest caste are those people who Hindus shouldn’t “touch”.
The lowest caste in India are more regarded as “slaves”, “primitive” etc.
Even nowadays this still works.
In my opinion and my years long observance of Indias culture (which I otherwise like and there are several things I admire greatly) I think that Modi is supporting the Hindus more and more.
And this can never lead to a more tolerante state and I doubt that India will ever surpass China in developments and science efforts. Except the Hindu castes vanish. To let a population divide, or even support its divisions because of religious believes, is not a good support for developments and comprises intolerance and revolts.
While on the other side, India posses some extremely good wisdom and could be an adept for great science. But looking at tolerance and social developments India is lacking a great deal.

firstly, India has a parlimentary system, not Presidential system, so he’s the Prime Minister (like UK, Israel) etc. The armed forces do *not* report to the PM and he cannot take control of the country via armed forces. the Indian constitution is mostly modelled after the Finnish one.
caste system was something that was evolved by the colonialists as an extension of the class system that every country has. Indian class system is both based on caste and class, leading to a slightly compartmentalized case in one and fully mobile in the other. one can move about in class, but not in caste. no different than religion A only marrying within religion A. so, all this is straight forward, but sensationalized for you.
India as a country is the only one that has never persecuted anyone ever and you talk about lack of tolerance. what is being done is prolly correcting some historical abhorration where the land of the majority is quickly getting to be under the control of externally controlled minorities. most of the christians and muslims in India are recent converts any way (with the last 100years) after missionaries from both sides of the pond exploded.
the original muslim conversions were by force and these have occured over last millenia (thats how old the country has continously operated). in fact there are numbering systems that dont have the number zero (though it originated there later).
this country and religion has gone through a lot and in spite of all that they’ve put up a lot in the name of “dharma”. they continue to, no matter who the PM is today and what he says. what he’s doing is getting the country back on its feet and giving it the backbone.
300 years of Mughal rule took away industry and innovation, 400 years of colonial rule took away self esteem. the people as a whole have survived and keot their head up. they will continue to do so, no matter what you predict.
He’s Hindu. The country is 82% Hindu. He’s has to win an election (but a PM is chosen by the winning party or coalition and approved by President) so obviously he’s going to he Hindu. On the other hand, the President, being an appointed post has been presided by a Sikh, Muslim (4), many low caste Hindus.
Hell, Sonia Gandhi and Italian by birth accidentally became PM as well, but smart on her, she refused it and nominated a puppet who ruled for 10 years and sent the country to the dogs. That’s what Modi is trying to undo in a haste.

First thank you for letting the discussion of SARS-COV-2/COVID19 be free wheeling for a time. It is sad to observe that even this amazing audience appears to be some lacking in analytic and critical thinking skills. Our education system is broken. Exactly the type of education we need to engage the coming storm has been lacking for several generations. So gate keepers are appointed to guide the narrative.
Nevertheless I have sincerely benefited from the diverse views expressed by the bloggers here. How have i benefited.? By analogy; If only one camera takes only one picture from only one “location/point of view” the resultant image is lacking in many details. However if several pictures are taken from several locations as in photogrammetry and connected by a horizontal and control grid (now by GPS) and the images are view in stereo, we see a 3D image with an exponential expansion of information. If we add Lidar, infrared, and other methods and wavelengths the situation of available information grows accordingly.
Likewise for several weeks we have had multiple points of view which allows one to see in greater depth and clarity the nature of the situation. If all we had for info is MSM we would be at a loss.
Yes there are trolls and those of us with perhaps extreme views. It would be for me preferable if the comments posted by trolls or by those expressing extreme views were flagged as such. Then the community could respond appropriately.

However, the Hindutva ideology of the BJP (Modi’s party) has very little in common with what is considered to be the original Hindu religion of “Sanatan Dharma”, i.e., eternal religion, just like Southern evangelical Christianity in the US has very little in common with the teachings of Christ.
The caste system originated in ancient times probably as a division of labor and it brought a certain stability to Indian society and its reproduction. The meaning of the word “Brahmin” is one who seeks knowledge of Brahman (i.e., the Absolute). But by the time of the Buddha, the caste system had become ossified and hereditary. To acquire higher knowledge, one had to go to the Brahmin priests for instruction in the Sanskrit scriptures. The Buddha condemned the caste system and preached in Pali, which was a language of the common people. He denied the ancient scriptures (i.e., the Vedas), the concept of soul and said that esoteric knowledge, without actual experience, was useless. Instead, he offered to the masses the revolutionary and practical eight-fold path for release from the bondage that comes from any kind of desire (“tanha”) and which thereby causes suffering, and attain the blessed peace of Nirvana (i.e., release from conditioned existence and achieve absolute freedom).
Today, it goes without saying that the caste system has become anachronistic and a terrible fetter on India’s further progress. No less a figure than Mahatma Gandhi thought that the “varna” (or caste) system was necessary as can be seen in the exchange of letters between him and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, who had converted to Buddhism in order to escape cast oppression, and who was a learned scholar and the chief framer of India’s constitution. It is outlawed constitutionally but still prevails in the minds of the people. It will probably take a few more centuries for it to completely disappear. The caste system is in direct contradiction to the teachings of the Upanishads and Vedanta according to which every thing in this universe is imbued with the same divine essence (in contradiction to the concept of sin being an essential feature of the human being in Christianity), and thus any type of fragmentary thinking, and its consequent results, comes from an error of perception into the nature of reality, which is an undivided whole.
