Dear friends,
I will be honest with you: I am exhausted and burned out. Not only did the daily running of the blog take a lot of energy and time, I also have been involved in several major project including the Q&A with a Chinese friend and a book which, God willing, will come out in November. And there have been many more things I was involved in behind the scenes about which I will report later.
But now, I need to take maybe not a “real” break, but at least to reduce the intensity of my work for one month. Therefore, during the full month of October I am going to a “minimal service” mode. I will try to update the blog the best I can, but I will try dedicate no more than 1 hour per day to this.
Then there are all the “hidden but crucial” people who help me run this blog who also need a break. Believe it or not, most of them have turned down my offer of a break (amazing, no?!), but some have agreed and, regardless, all of them deserve a short respite from the constant struggle.
It is really “now or never” moment. The situation in the Ukraine is “sorta kinda” artificially semi-frozen and the events in Syria will take a couple of weeks to really get going. Frankly, I believe that the shit will hit the proverbial fan in the Ukraine rather soon, possibly even before the end of the year. Should there be a MAJOR explosion in the Ukraine or Syria, I will, of course, issue a “return to combat stations” alarm, but only if the situation becomes critical.
Otherwise, I will post “what I can the best I can and as frequently as I can” but no more than that. There will be plenty enough posts to make sure that you have a comments section to talk things over amongst yourselves, no worries about that.
I have one HUGE favor to ask of you all: please, unless it is really important and time critical, do not send me email. Please!!
Sorry about this slight reduction in service and thanks a lot for your understanding.
Hugs to all,
The Saker
@Saker, wish you well with your “maintenance.” Get back soon. :-)
Take a rest, relax a bit, enjoy your family. Too much on one man’s shoulders.
Rest, dear. Let your wings moult and they’ll grow out stronger.
Regards.
have been seeing this site since the beginning of the war(Ukraine)
saker is sort of our oxygen now he deserves some oxygen
thanks for everything. breathe deep
Thanks Saker for all your selfless service—you were one of the first to comment when Odessa massacre came down, duriing ithe whole Charlie Hebdo incident and have been on it for over a year. Rest.
Dear The Saker,
You need the break. Take care. Enjoy the family.
Putin is now live from the UN on RT…….
Rgds,
Veritas
Good move. Recover well. Try to resist the temptation to come back before you’re ready–people with a strong sense of duty tend to do that.
Enjoy the deserved rest.
I also will take a break this month.
See you soon.
Hugs.
As stated before Saker, you are trying to do too much, cover too many regions. I’m only interested in the Donbass (and relatedly Russia, and the reduced ukraine vis a vis it). Still, I wish you well.
The Donbass is organically linked to the war in Syria, to China, to Latin America and to all the rest. Many battles, one war.
True – but probably in a different way than you imagine.
My sister in law just arrived in the beautiful Mediterranean island of Majorca, from Ireland, for a weeks r&r. Apparently the forecast is heavy rain for most of that time – talk about going from the frying pan into the fire…not normal.
I hope your hurricane season ends with a whimper.
We can imagine more later – in the meantime, take it easy ;-)
Like an octopus (USA) with 8 arms. But my point still holds Saker, you can’t cover it all, and your post is proof of this. I do NOT mean this as a criticism, but as an observation.
Thank You, Saker, for clarifying and reporting how all the the seperate elements are “organically linked”. Your block excels where others lack, thus your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.
Enjoy your break and recouperate.

Saker and team, you earned it. Enjoy the semi-vacation.
Saker, have a well deserved rest. with best wishes.
Скорейшего восстановления!
Dear Saker, I have no idea how you manage to do what you do. I would have collapsed in a burnt-out, exhausted heap long before. Please take this time to really rest and recover. It feel like you have said before you will be taking it easy for a while or taking a few days off but then you seemed to be (almost) as busy as ever. So take a proper break from us. We’ll miss you but the comments section will keep us all going. Hugs, best wishes and выздоравливай скорее.
Looking forward to your book! Hope you manage to charge your batteries. Warm regards and utmost respect!
No problem and we’ll be here when you return and all of those that help behind the curtain Thank You. I want you to remember while on break the reason for the break, take time for yourself and family:-)
Please everyone send donations when you can, break or not bills are bills;) I try and send $5 when ever I have it extra every month.
Some times I have wondered what a day in the life of The Saker is like.
Probably one of those Reality Tv shows could be run with all the goings on of a
life lived in full, with service to family and mankind, which would be the big diference
from all those celebrity driven shows.
One day perhaps we will see a Documentary, and it will be
good to learn and appreciate more the life of someone who has galvanized a community of thinkers, people who care about their fellow human beings and the world we share.
Hope you have a good working rest, looking forward to the book.
There is so much at stake, still. The presentations at the UN General Assembly are not reassuring.
The Hegemon continues to bluster, huff and puff, “I will not hesitate in protecting my country or our allies unilaterally, or by the use of force, in case it is necessary”.
That was the message that came across after 22 minutes of a Sirocco, nowadays they are originated in Arizona.
Best be prepared.
Thanks to you and those behind the curtain. Rest well,
Christine
Thanks to the entire Saker community for maintaining this wonderful blog. Enjoy your down time.
Yours,
RR

Haha,very funny.
Thank you . . . Thank you very much” . . . . .In an Elvis Impersonator type voice ( ͝° ͜ʖ͡°)
mmm….. nah.. couple of days off, the brain kicks in and you’re back into it again.
Been there, done that.
Take a much needed rest, Saker. Having visited you last fall I well know your incredibly busy schedule and I also know the amount of time writing a book can consume, mine published just this past June after 3 years in the writing.
I’ll email you in a couple weeks after you’ve had some rest and inform you as to my arrival this year, it will be late next month.
Dear Saker,
The thought of ‘burn-out’ totally freaks me – I know that feeling only too well!!
So please try and unwind, spend time with the family, pay attention to the mundane and everyday. Go to Nature – nothing like it for renewal…
Eat properly.
And let the community do the wonderful job they’ve been doing all along. This blog is one of the most important elements in the information ‘war’ on the English-speaking net.
Thanks ever so much for this little beacon of light in darkening world.
But keep the home-fires burning!!

Your friends understand you very well Saker. I am more concerned by seeing you loosing your health then “loosing” you partly for a short while. I hope this short rest will do good for you.
The timing is good I believe. Putin delivered his long awaited speech at the UNGA and the position of US and RF and China is clearer than ever. The die is cast… My biggest concern is that the US is loosing their fight for hegemony and they are pushing the ante to the maximum to inflict as much damage as possible, as only a psychopath can do. The story involving the B61-12 bombs is only an example. Constantly pushing the glass towards the border might lead it to fall.
Looking forward to reading from you soon with an increased energy for the next phase of the battle.
dear the saker,
no warrior can continue at battle endlessly, there is always the need to rest, regroup & replenish & nurture the soul,
all warmest wishes for your rest,
jg
Yea, enjoy the time off Saker, but be ready if battle resumes.

p.s.
Listen to this when you find the time. I find him to be one of the best sources when it comes to shedding the light on the shadows on The Greatest War Of Our Time (or The War For The Future of The Planet).
p.p.s.
I read yesterday that President Putin has ruled out Russian boots on the ground in Syria. Great man. You call was apsolutely right, besides there are other reasons along yours 2 stated on why Russia shouldn’t send its troops on the ground. Just imagine how the Empire would love to drive the wedge between Orthodoxy (but primarily Russians of course) and Islam, and what better way to do it then by making some false flag incidents with the Orthodox troops on the Muslim soil, especially considering the explosive, fanatic and striving nature of the Arabs. So President Putin has smart men around himself. Anyhow good news yesterday.

I take also this opportunity to congratulate all those who, like me, turned year this month, as my nephew and….as I could know…. Vladislav Yuryevich Surkov!
Congratulations to all!
Dear friend,
No need to worry about us. You and your team have provided us with lots of information, almost too much to comprehend. You just take all the time you need for some R&R.
A HUGE thank you, for everything you have done so far (my next donation will be in December).
Sorry Saker I just saw this.
Take a good rest!
Thank you my friend for all you have Done.
