I just wanted to share a quick update with you about our community and myself.
So far, I know of no member of our community who would have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 and developed the COVID19 infection. But *A LOT* of our members have been affected by the virus, many are in lockdown at home. This situation also affects to 20 or so key-members of the various Saker blog who are now all living under difficult circumstances.
As for myself and my family, we have decided to also go on voluntary quarantine not so much because we believe that we might avoid the virus, as to give us more time before we get sick. South Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach counties) is now starting the resemble New York. North Florida (Duvall County) and even Central Florida (Hillsborough and Orange County) are following right behind. For the time being, the governor is taking the “Trump approach” and cares a lot more about the economy than about human lives. In other words, I am pretty sure that Florida will soon join NY, CA and other states and that denial will be followed by panic.
So all of us, in varying degrees, are affected and that will affect how our blogs work.
I ask for your understanding and patience with all of us.

As a fellow resident of Central Florida I concur with the Saker’s estimate. I went into voluntary lockdown two weeks ago, so many of the people in this area are young and very foolish, or old and vulnerable, and with over 3.6M in the six county area contiguous to Orlando, I expect to see at least 1M and probably 1.5M infected with deaths in the tens of thousands.
Forget Trump and DeSantis, either lockdown now or lock down later.

my husband’s mom died in WA last fall, in a nursing home in mt. vernon, not that far from kirkland. all the nh’s residents suffered from what the doctors called pulmonary fibrosis. while attempting to disguise the numbers dying it was obvious, the nh was all but empty. shortly after taking her home to care for her through her awful, truly dreadful passing we both fell sick. i am familiar with pneumonia, having had double pneumonia numerous times as a child, & then again 5 more times as an adult, i’m 72. this bout was very different. my husband & i each suffered very different strains, of whatsoever it was, we were stricken from mid september thru to the end of december, truthfully we are only now beginning to recover our ability to breathe. my version attacked my central nervous system, the 1st symptom caused screaming headaches @ the base of my skull 24/7 for 2 mos, which our doctors didn’t really take seriously. i am not a headache person & knew this was extraordinary, i seriously considered that i may’ve had a tumour, the pain was that penetrating…the headaches only ended in late november with the 1st dose of antibiotics (which touched nothing in my lungs, certainly didn’t affect my inability to breathe, heart palpitations but @ least eliminated the headaches). my husband had what was termed walking pneumonia, which meant he went to work for 3 weeks! thank god no one we know of contracted anything like but that was truly by the grace of god. finally he crashed. he could only sleep sitting up…we both came to that…a sure sign that something is very wrong. but we were @ the stage where we were too tired to focus on the fact this was abnormal & not acceptable. we both stopped breathing countless times, we’d simply stop for some minutes before our engines would once more engage. we self isolated instinctively knowing whatsoever we had we didn’t want any other to catch. our doctors all believed the old standard about viruses & bacteria & hesitated to prescribe anything believing our immune systems would kick in. eventually even they began to see what we were dealing with was outside the norm. as we’d both had the double pneumonia vaccination, they explained that we’d somehow both contracted a strain outside of 24 covered by the vaccination. there’s no blame, they simply didn’t know what they were dealing with. it was then, not now. we are both in our 70s so we were both familiar with our bodies & various illnesses & knew what we had was outside of anything we’d ever experienced and most importantly we knew we were on our own.
survival kicked in. we followed a protocol of vitamins recommended by abram hoffer (i was fortunate to have him as my gp in my 20s), linus pauling bt also including curcumin (black pepper), resveratrol, coq10, udos & mct oils, essential in the absorption of curcumin but also for maintaining organ responsiveness (which i believe helped maintain our lungs ability to fight rigidity) massive vit C (when it was bad 1000mgs every 4hrs), msm, A, beta carotene, the best complete b’s we could find, twice or 3x a day, selenium, k2/7, OOO @ least 4xs a day, teatree oil inhaled, copious amounts of garlic (2 bulbs in oil with pasta/parm/shitaki), zinc lozenges…greens (chard/spinach), salads, cayenne, honey, probiotics, green tea, melatonin—medicinal scotch to maintain sanity—chicken soup.

By any chance did you get 5G in your community, or a smart meter on your house about then? The reason I’m asking is among the more notable effects of strongly modulated radiofrequency radiation (RFR) from those are on the nervous system and immune system. People worldwide are reporting tinnitis, headaches, chest pains, anxiety, depression and other similar symptoms as 5G is turned on. BTW, I also recommend the protocol you followed successfully. I used a very similar protocol, especially the garlic, when I was abroad in January, got ill, and could not get away from W-Fi.

The only thing going for 5G is it’s ability to deal with huge amounts of data (useful for spying on people).
Its range is extremely short therefore it requires re-transmitting towers to be spaced at every few blocks as short as maybe 1-2.
Also, there is no funding for testing its negative effects on human brain, actually testing is not allowed.
This wi-fi thing is not the driver of this infection. It is a ted herring issue. Garlic and things like that might offer some little support but hardly worth it. Keeping down secondary or bacterial infections resulting from viral activities can be worth while but preventing exchange via clathrin pits is the only way I am aware of to halt the virus in its tracks.

It is my impression that this stuff escaped from a bio lab, merely based on circumstantial evidence. Thanks for that data point, @emersonreturn. It doesn’t narrow down the source very much, but it says that officialdom has been covering it up for several months more than they publicly admit. Or that they are very slow learners, which is also likely.
Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) drives the formation of clathrin/receptor pits and determines the geometry of them as well. The alteration to the geometry of the pits is such the virus may not gain entry to the target cell.
The issue is clathrin mediated endocytosis and how Milk Thistle can distrupt virus penetration of the cell.
Not only does Milk Thistle change the shape of the doorway so the virus cannot get through it also directly stimulates the growth of new lung tissue and repair of damaged lung tissue.
Milk Thistle is an effective prophylaxis against HIV-1, HCV, Herpes Simplex.
I take Milk Thistle seed extract in capsules at a rate of 150,000 micrograms per day divided into 3-4 doses. Have done for many years. I don’t take any other medications. For that i am grateful. the symptoms you describe are consistent with COVID19 infection. From my study of various sources it apears the SARS-CoV-2 had very likely originated in USA a number of months before it was discovered in China. It mutated naturally few times and its historical movement can be to some degree traced based on these mutations. This virus is most likely a man made creation. I have listend to a Czech expert with no vested interest who explained that the governing part of any virus only very rarely undergoes mutation (most natural mutations hapens on the periphery of viruses. But this particular virus governing part is completely different from all other known corona viruses. The govering part apparently looks like if somebody went in and pulled all contents from usual places and mixed them into a mess. This goes completely against the way nature works.
Also in months preceeding the appearance of the virus in China a lot of people in USA suffered (and some died) from pneumonias / fibrosis vagually linked to e-cigarettes and other potential causes. These could have been possibly diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 virus if proper tests were done.
I am from Australia and our PM in recent interview explained that around 80% of CoV-2 cases were imported / mainly from USA. That goes quite against the official narative of virus origin in China.
It wouldn’t surprice me if the late start of testing for the virus in USA was an intentional strategy to hide that unussually high number of existing cases at that time.

people i respect recommended that paper and i read the silly thing. if you read it they seem to say that the virus cannot be engineered because it is not nasty enough. Hmmmmm!
Now i do not say it was or was not engineered but when those who say it is natural rely on papers such as this I get a twitchy nose.
I have also read the stuff on two strains of the virus in china and that is totally consistent with the world data. I would go further and suspect when they go looking that there is a third strain evolved in Italy or thereabouts which seems to have the infectivity of the Wuhan Strain S and the lethality of the Wuhan strain L. (The Chinese paper preceded the Italian/Iranian outbreak.
I read that paper, it’s littered with “maybe”predicted “ indicates etc etc etc etc Not impressive and does not support their conclusion.
I read the Nature article several times and had a few observations.
1. There are no experiments. The paper strictly looks at other published reports and does some comparison of the viral sequence to what was said in the previous published reports. The work put into the Nature article can be done by any competent graduate student in a few hours. The paper has 5 authors from 5 different institutions. Given the sparsity of the analysis in he paper, I find that suspicious.
2. The paper in the first part says this:
“While the analyses above suggest that SARS-CoV-2 may bind human ACE2 with high affinity, computational analyses predict that the interaction is not ideal7 and that the RBD sequence is different from those shown in SARS-CoV-2 to be optimal for receptor binding7,11.”
This is hardly a basis for concluding that the virus is not man-made. There is no reason to assume that the engineer will want to optimize binding to ACE2, especially if the goal is not to have a high death rate.
3. The second part of the paper talks about the polybasic furin cleavage site and O-linked glycans and states:
“Given the level of genetic variation in the spike, it is likely that SARS-CoV-2-like viruses with partial or full polybasic cleavage sites will be discovered in other species.”
Even if SARS-CoV-2-like viruses with partial or full polybasic cleavage sites are discovered in other species, this still does not show that the SARS-CoV-2 is from natural evolution.

The paper was little better than a journalist review of data. My feeling was that it was rushed out to quieten those who suspected a US origin – and the Chinese government too.
Thing is the Chinese have been on top of this from day 1 and i assume know exactly by now where the virus originated. I imagine by now they will have an immunity test/assay so that they will eventually have certainty about where in China it started. For example if it started in Guangdong then there will be traces in the community there and if it started in some sort of sudden burst (consistent with a deliberate release) they will be able to count the known mutations and pretty well prove it one way or the other. Indeed the excellent paper i read that identified the five groups, pretty much does this although it was early days. Too early for me to find the link but I downloaded it.
While wild viruses are known to swap snippets of genetic information with one another, this can also be done in a lab setting. You can’t really disprove anything merely based upon the nucleotide sequence. The required substitutions can be made in a modern lab, and they can be propagated in test animals.
The researchers might have been investigating viral infection mechanisms, for which they wanted such a combination. And since the lab is rated for BSL-4 containment, they created this demon so they could write a scientific paper about it. After all, the lab has also safely contained samples of Ebola and many other such pathogens.
The Italian Strain is 10X more dangerous than the Wuhan-Strain
Wrap your head around that.

I am 69 and trying to self-isolate in eastern Europe. I found the following pie chart reassuring. Among those in Italy who have died only 0.8% had no known pre-existing medical condition. I am pretty sure that only 0.1% were under 60 and non-smokers.

The idea that we should be living in a risk-free environment has lulled many people into believing that to be possible. There are 35,000 deaths every year from motor accidents alone in the USA. Let’s get things in perspective.
The economic hit is going to kill far more people than the virus IMHO. Heaps of people are going to go bankrupt and commit suicide. Others will turn to drugs.

Dear All, as someone who has spent a lot of time creating propaganda for political and commercial purposes, there is no doubt that the old ”Never Let a Good Crisis Go to Waste” axiom is alive and well today.
Regardless whether you believe Corona is a bioweapon or just a fluke of nature, the political reactions show a great deal of opportunism that will very rapidly bring us to dangerous territory in its own right.
The medical emergency as such is less diffuse than one might think. Just a couple of brief examples, and please do your own googling:
Firstly, a number of recent studies show that the percentage of asymptomatic cases is in the 50-90% range. This means that the mortality figures presented so far are vastly overblown. If you – only – test people with severe symptoms that are admitted to hospital (as is the habit in my country) you will naturally get very skewed and very scary numbers.
Secondly, Italy is ostentatiously being used as a horror cabinet. Consider, then, that the seasonal deaths due to the normal flu in Italy is in the 25-30K range and that the hospital system has reported severe intensive care overload several times in recent years. Furthermore, a number of very dubious statistical decisions have been made that magnify the problem. For instance, the average number of serious underlying conditions of those who died (like Cancer, Diabetes, obesity, heart conditions and so on) was 2,7. Still, a seriously obese, diabetic smoker who recently had a heart attack and then dies carrying the virus would be reported as a virus death. Did he then actually die “from” or “with” the virus?
We will only get the definite answer when the excess mortality statistics come in later, but until then, all the customary warning signs that signify a joint “mainstream media” message platform concoction are in plain view.
The outcome seems to point in the direction of: severe reduction of free movement, reduction of free speech to “curtail fake news and fear mongering” (in reality the opposite), conditioning to “obey authority for the sake of safety” in general, massive financial and social realignments that go under the radar, etc, etc…
Remember, these measures are then likely to be – welcomed – by a vast majority of scared citizens, and the famous “those who give up freedom for safety will likely lose both”-adage still applies!
If, and I repeat, if, someone would want to initiate a global takeover, reset or new order of some kind, this is certainly a plausible way to pave the way for one…
It is the number infected that is seriously under reported…..only when you go to hospital and have a confirmed test are you a qualifying statistic. Believe me… very severe lack of PPE ….such as in care homes if any ..one example 10+ out of 24 residents infected 1 died 2 to hospital…staff showing symptoms….residents are “diagnosed” by experienced medical staff who know their residents….but as there are no tests to confirm…it is not reported. I hear this quite a bit but I dont really think people understand the difficulty of doing such a thing. The takeover has already been put in place over 100 years ago, it cant be refined or renewed any further than it currently is. Resets or new orders are a long ways off as the conditions for doing so have not been met.
The only plausible way forward are higher prices and the ability of the consumer to afford them, leading to a more unhealthy citizen from lack of sustainable nutrients combined with bad lifestyles or behaviors, which then leads to further health care crisis’s and the ability of the health care system to absorb all the new arrivals. I’m encountering a growing number of people who think that this thing has been around since November-ish, and that many people had it. I had family members at this time suffer the worst flu of their lives. Doesn’t explain the stark increase in deaths though.
I’m the Italian guy in Switzerland. In my old comments I mentioned that in US there was a huge underestimation of the infection cases and of the danger itself. Now it is evident looking at capillary diffusion in many states.
I’m starting to think that Chinese could be right, they only were the first to identify the new virus, but that it was already diffused in many countries, confused with standard pneumonia or seasonal flu. Now all European countries are following Italy in the progressive blockade. China bought us a month, but we did nothing and now we are running after the virus, taking measures with at least a week of delay. All we can do is only wait and pray for the better.
This is my second week of self-isolation, I only went out to buy food once a week. So I understand you very well. Fortunately we can stay in touch with the rest of the world via web. Since we will have a lot of time to think and talk with our close friends and relatives, I suggest to discuss about how fragile our society was, how many illusions we had about the globalization, and which are the most important things for a human being. Using preferably organic materials.
However, given we are where we find ourselves non organic will work just fine.
1 quarter cup finely chopped onion
1 quarter cup finely chopped garlic.
1 quarter cup of fresh,grated ginger
2 fresh hot chillies finely chopped
2 tablespoons of fresh,grated turmeric root
2 tablespoons of of fresh grated horseradish
2 teaspoons of honey
700 ml of organic cider vinegar “with the mother “ sometimes this is called unfiltered organic cider vinegar.
One 1.5 litre Kilner jar (a clear glass vessel that has a rubber seal or airtight seal)
Put all of the above ingredients into the Kilner jar leave to marinate for 2 weeks making sure to shake the vessel vigorously for 15 or so, seconds twice or 3 times daily.
The vessel can be kept at room temperature in a place where you will be easily reminded to shake it.
When 2 weeks is up strain the mix through a muslin cloth(I use a nylon mesh paint strainer readily available from any decent paint shop)strain and squeeze all the liquid from the mix.This liquid is your antibiotic.
In my experience the best time to take this is when and if you feel a bit sickly for the first time.One whiskey shot amount is enough at any time and wash it down with a glass or two of fresh water.
If your condition is persisting continue 3 times daily till you feel better.
The left over pulp can be used for cooking stock for soups,stir fries etc.
BTW colloidal silver is very effective as an anti viral remedy …and most efficiently absorbed if it is taken using a nebuliser device.

I’ll give my thoughts about the COVID-19 outbreak.
I’m 72 years old and live in Western New York State. I suffer no chronic illnesses nor am I on any prescription medication regimen. I treat this infection as any other communicable disease of the respiratory tract where the primary path of entry is through airborne transmission. I avoid people who are symptomatic meaning: coughing, sneezing or exhibiting postnasal drip. They could be active carriers of any type of contagion besides COVID-19: influenza, tuberculosis, bacterial or viral pneumonia, measles, diphtheria, pertussis, etc.
Right now I’m more concerned about influenza than COVID-19. I write that due to the annual flu epidemic, which statistically is in the millions across the nation and over 5,000 have died so far with 10 weeks to go.
In New York, there are over 153,000 cases of influenza to date (3/25/2020). Influenza acts like a “gateway” pathogen and it’s nearly as contagious as COVID-19. Although influenza has killed less than 300 in the State, it weakens a person’s immune system and makes it more difficult to fight other communicable diseases that enter through the respiratory tract or elsewhere (e.g., hepatitis, typhoid, cholera, etc.) It creates a state of comorbidity, where the body has to fight against more than one disease at the same time.
There are currently over 30,000 confirmed cases across New York with 29,000 in New York’s metropolitan district. NYC (New York City) is the de facto epicenter of COVID-19 in the United States. Obviously population density is a major factor but still, what is it about NYC that it has become an uncontrollable Petri-dish of infection?
I came to the conclusion that perhaps the 725,000 illegal aliens in the sanctuary jurisdiction of NYC might be the primary source of these communicable diseases.

We know that over 150 “sanctuary cities” were created around the country as a political wedge to present it as humanitarianism and as such are in violation of immigration law. But were these huddling masses also exempted from medical screening and treatment? If so, the partisan politicos are greatly to blame for the spread of infectious diseases.
I certainly believe it is prudent to not take unnecessary risks but I go out two or three times a week (weather permitting) and walk. I take deep breaths of fresh air and talk to people briefly using aforementioned precautions and then move on. When I get home I open the windows for about an hour to circulate fresh air because stale air carries harmful microorganisms that will make a person ill over prolong confinement.
I think diseases spread due to poor hygiene education in the home, in public schools and at work. When all this is over and it will pass, governments need to vigorously promote good hygiene starting with children and the older generation too because they are lazy and have poor health habits.

Apparently you are not aware of what are “sanctuary cities.” These are jurisdictions set up by State governments all across America to house aliens who have not gone through the process of immigration and naturalization as required by U.S. Federal Law.
The 725,000 illegal aliens in NYC in all likelihood were not medically screened for communicable diseases. That is a requirement of any alien who wishes to work in the U.S. or apply for citizenship. Medical screening has been a U.S. requirement for over 100 years. My grandfather and father immigrated to the U.S. from Sicily in 1916. They both had to be screened for tuberculosis, typhoid fever, diphtheria, cholera, syphilis, etc. Aliens who had those diseases were refused entry in the country.
My point is if these illegal aliens are active or dormant carriers of disease, they can rapidly spread it. It’s a reasonable hypothesis given that NYC is the epicenter for the dispersion of the SARS-Cov-2 virus.
I know exactly what a sanctuary city is, I live in one, and I’m an immigrant. But that’s not the point. First of all, there’s almost no undocumented people left, Obama deported them all. 750k undocumented people just in NYC! Ha what a joke. Maybe you should contact your local (federal) immigration office and tell them of your discovery. sanctuary cities are jurisdictions where municipal police and courts refuse to do the federal government’s job.

While zinc, quinine, tea, Vitamin c, Garlic, Vitamin B etc may all be good for you and may help a little in giving immunity, they are not going to protect you from a load of virus if you hit a super spreader.
Sure take such things to boost immunity but please stop referring to them as cures etc.

One last post from me to this thread. I see a lot of talk about one ‘strain’ or another of this virus. That isn’t quite accurate. Being a virus, it mutates in each and every host it infects. Its mutation rate wildly exceeds that of any other animal or even microbe. There are literally thousands of ‘strains’.

You can see that there is a certain geographic distribution of the different clades, but also that the virus is a world traveler.
By the way, try not to read too much into this about the origin of the virus. ‘Patient zero’ is not in this dataset, as the first samples were collected after the bug had already been in the wild for several months. It was probably already planet-wide by that time.

Yes of course you are right about the strains etc, but I guess not every mutation goes on to replicate in another person. I only use the term strain because it was used by Chinese scientists and I guess also once they have accumulated sufficient differences to justify being a new strain. after all Covid 19 is not a ‘species”because it is not sufficiently different from SARS, hence it is SARS 2 ie a strain of SARS.
The point is that just like flu variants, there seem to be several variants with differing rates of infectivity and virulence. This is to be expected I guess and the little I have read suggests that typically they mutate to be less virulent.
Of the sources for information about this outbreak, a lot of them seem to trace back to Epoch Times, The Washington Times, or the mysterious blogger behind Harvard to the Bighouse. I’m beginning to wonder if their popular stories aren’t cleverly crafted products of MinTru. They feature some verifiable nuggets of established knowledge, woven into, shall we say, ‘a narrative’. The first two publications are known to have an anti-China bias, and the blogger is unknown.
But one consistent statement has been that the ‘spike’ protein on this virus is distinctly different from other members of the Corona family, and these spikes implement an infection mechanism not seen in the others. This is one thing that suggests to me it was a lab creation. And the widely cited Nature article which claims it was not a lab creation seems to me to be a little too eager to make its point, and to rely too much on what is essentially hand-waving. I’ve looked at the published sequences, and must admit that I do not know enough to interpret them (and the ‘Spanish Flu’ [which may have originated in Kansas] certainly managed to emerge without any help from a lab, so there’s that.)
As for what lab, and how, and why, I do not know. If the intersection of the set of psychopaths, with the set of those with access to the secured areas of the lab, is one or more persons, . . . . Alternatively, if one lab test animal escapes its confines, that would be all that is necessary.

Let me just tell you that it was an all-out war of my body and my intellect against this evil virus. I never had anything remotely close to that vile and hideous disease ever. In comparison, Measles was an absolute nothing-burger.
Feel free to contract it and learn it the hard way. If you take the risk consciously, you shall take full responsibility of all consequences. Hence, I want you to put a note into your pocket/wallet stating “I do not want a bed in intensive care and I do not use a ventilator!” to make sure intensive care units are attributed to mentally sane people.
