A couple of quick things:
1) The so-called “interview” with Alexander Khodakovskii (not Mikhail Khodorkovskii) is a fake made by Reuters in which different parts of the real interview were re-mixed together in order to make it sound as if Khodakovskii was saying that the Resistance had a BukM1. Video and audio proof of that fact that this was a fake was shown on Russian TV today.
2) The “new, democratic and free Ukraine associated to the EU” has just banned the Communist Party from the Parliament. Welcome to the “civilizational choice” of Europe.
Not SITREP from Mindfriedo today (yes, he too has a life in meatspace), but hopefully one from Strelkov via Gleb Bazov, but later today.
I will be back in a few hours, in the meantime, open thread (with my friend /dev/null keeping an eye on the proceedings).
Kind regards,
The Saker
I think a very very important part of what Yats said is “The coalition has fallen apart, laws haven’t been voted on, soldiers can’t be paid, there’s no money to buy rifles, there’s no possibility to store up gas,”
I wonder how many soldiers will be reading that?
Meantime, the Peak Oil crisis is looming on the horizon. This of course is no surprise for those of us who have been following the peak oil story for many years. In a good tradition of our collective stupidity and short-sightedness we are doing what we do best: fight each other and squander our remaining resources on the global war machine.

Aaand speaking again of Israel, there was a piece yesterday in Salon detailing a bit how their propaganda machine works. That piece also refers to an older piece in Monoweiss that has a pdf for The israel Project’s 2009 Global Language Dictionary. If you can control the nausea, projectile vomiting and so forth, download it and take a look.

Just as things were starting to look bleak on the ground, something comes along and suddenly it is a different day.
A big success in the Southern Cauldron as another GRAD strike seems to annihilated the 79th Airborne Brigade. Pictures on Captain Cassad site.
We also have the collapse of the Junta, which leaves badly demoralised Ukrainian army wondering what and why they are getting slaughtered for.
Interesting timing, the Global Propaganda campaign re MH17 has backfired. Russia has put its evidence on the table and shown the US to be holding an empty hand.
Could it be that some very awkward information re the Air Crash is about to enter the public domain, so those that can are now bailing out as fast as they can?
So, poster-boy ‘I take a bullet to the forehead unless the real shooting starts in Maidan’ Yats resigns…
Nuland’s darling bails out…
Hmmmm…
Does that mean preventative measures are being taken to distance the west’s ‘good boys’ from the ‘evil’ right wingers?
Obviously a ‘fall guy’ is needed to blame the MH17 disaster on and the shite about Russia/Rebels did it won’t stick to the walls of mankind’s moral upholstery.
Colonel Strelkov hopefully uses this opportunity to inflict horrendous losses on the Kiev Fascists.
I just wonder where this headless chicken will end up…
OPEN LETTER TO FRANS TIMMERMANS
MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE NETHERLANDS
Dear Frans Timmermans,
As Minister of Foreign Affairs you are representing the Dutch interests around the world. And sometimes you have to act tough in it. Especially in the current situation with the dramatic plane crash in eastern Ukraine, where no less than 193 Dutch citizens tragically died. You talked about that on July 21 during a meeting of the UN Security Council. The Dutch newspaper NRC called it “an impressive speech” of “an emotional Minister of Foreign Affairs” and published the full text in English. Of course you are, like many other Dutch people, emotionally touched by the events in eastern Ukraine with the dramatic fall of flight MH17 with tragic consequences.
In your ‘impressive speech’, you use the following words:”The last couple of days we have received very disturbing reports of bodies being moved about and looted for their possessions. It must be unbearable to lose your husband first and then to have the fear that some thug might steal his wedding ring from his remains.”
Of course ‘stealing a wedding ring’ of one of the victims, is an extremely serious crime, but this example should be based on the truth. However, this is not true. The Ukrainian authorities now in power in Kiev have an interest to assure that in the eastern part of the country one crime follows the other. And they do not shrink from falsifying or fabricating ‘evidence’. Please look at the following video in which you also play a role:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZBSGorpLNc
Also, the Dutch NOS-news, in the person of correspondent Godfroid, regularly reports in a indiscriminate and not fact-based manner about ‘theft’, the ‘removal of personal belongings of victims’ and thus contributes to a desired image by Kiev about the ‘criminal’ east.
The past ten years I have often been in that area. I did research for my new book and stayed at my in-laws in the Russian Federation only about 500 meters away from the Ukrainian border. From there I went to places like Krasnodon, Lugansk, Snezjnoje, Donetsk, Kramatorsk and more places that until July 17, 2014, but few have heard of. It is a war zone now.
My forthcoming book is also about war, which only took place 70 years ago. Also then the area where now fighting is going on was a war zone. In the period 1941-1944 countless men, women and children from that area were transported to Greater Germany for forced labor. The so-called ‘Ostarbeit’. Countless people lost their lives, others came back to the Soviet Union broken and were on arrival blamed for ‘high treason’. I’ve talked to a lot of people there to gather information for my book: former forced laborers and their relatives, children, grandchildren … and I got to know the people in the eastern parts of Ukraine as people with a heart of gold, who will certainly not do what Godfroid claims in the NOS news. Your speech at the UN Security Council was also broadcasted on Ukrainian and Russian television, it is no wonder that the people in the villages around the remains of flight MH17 with disbelief and emotionally reacted to your words.
The war of 70 years ago still leaves deep wounds in eastern Ukraine. The word ‘fascism’ is still enough for violent emotions, almost every family lost relatives to that ‘political system’. Therefore, when it became known that the new government in Kiev after the takeover of February 22, 2014 was brought to power with the support of the openly fascist paramilitary organization ‘Right Sektor’ and the crypto-fascist political party Svoboda (Freedom), for many people in that region it was a reason to turn away, with all its consequences we know now, from the new authorities in Kiev
Mr. Timmermans, emotions are understandable, I even welcome emotions in politics, but emotions must be based on sincerity and truth. Don’t rely on and be mislead by the flow of disinformation and propaganda that is also going on. Because like all wars, this is a propaganda war in which the disinformation can even penetrate a meeting of the UN Security Council. And that could not have been your intention
I wish you strength in your further appearances for the interests of the victims and their families,
Yours sincerely,
Bas van der Plas

the open letter is from this site:

I copied it and used a ‘easier’ link than in the letter, but it’s the same video
I clearly can’t multi-task, so I screwed up royally on the URLs on my last comment and did not give a H/T where credit is due. Let me fix that now and urge everyone to head on over to an earlier post on the same blog which not only opens a door to some truly chilling stuff going on right now inside Israel, but may also shine some light on what is going on right on in Kiev:

Also, just for the record: the Algerian plane that was diverted, disappeared from the radar and then went down in Mali was… SURPRISE! a Boeing 777. Someone here once said that calling something a coincidence only means that you haven’t yet figured out the connections. But you don’t have to know all of them to recognize that the odds are quite high at this point that this is more than mere chance.
Hello folks,
I am beginning to doubt anyone really wants the conflict in Ukraine and the killing of the Donbass people to end. All everyone seems to want to do is
weep, blame other people, publish gruesome photos and videos, talk politics, and pore over military strategy. What about stopping the violence?
I myself did a great deal of research, and to the best of my ability, composed a Peace Proposal designed to end the killing. This Proposal, though highly condensed
to meet character limits of various websites, took into account the interests of a number of factions. It was extremely favorable to Donbass, yet neutral
enough to be acceptable to Kiev, the EU, and corporate interests in the region, ie. the powers that be. I attached to this Peace Proposal a short letter saying, if this Plan or a revision of it might be appropriate, to please pass on to interested or responsible governments. I then emailed it to Saker, Gleb Basov, Igor Strelkov, Ron Paul, Jimmy Carter, Vladimir Putin, Bill Richardson, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Kerry, Angela Merkel, the OSCE, the Austrian government, and the Swiss government. I got only one kind response. Bill Richardson replied from his iPhone, “Thanks for your efforts.”
Why aren’t people trying harder to stop this war? The killing is hideous, and the survivors are likely to have post-traumatic stress syndrome for the rest of their lives. Can’t people in this world put forth some kind of effort? Can’t someone at least respond to my Peace Proposal, or start composing a Plan of their own? Can’t anyone start functioning at the operational level?
What gives?
Sincerely,
Kathleen A. Rosser

Click Times of India Close Call
Click FaceBook Knows
Click Live Journal Has The Goods!
Click Nikolay Istomin Has A Story!
Click Don’t Forget Gospodin Plotnikk!
A fair bit of this stuff overlaps, relying upon shared underlying info. But now I understand that the US is NEVER going to show what intel they have. They can’t do so.
Yesterday I wrote about the emperor having no clothes, this is worse. He has clothes but they are covered in sewerage and totally fouled but still his attendants must say just how great the emperor’s raiment is.
The best that you will ever see from the US is Facebook videos, faked audio and bluster because that’s all they can show. Anything else will reveal to the world EXACTLY what they were doing, just how evil they have been and the depth of their dishonesty.
Will they go to war to save face?

No, resignation of the government is apparently automatic if the prime minister resigns. Earlier reports suggested big changes were going to occur on 25 July. I suspect this is a way for martial law to be imposed, along with compulsory conscription.

Does Yats know what really happened and figures it’s time to bail? The Rada is getting nervous.
On to Kiev.
Kathleen A. Rosser,
Neither side wants peace. This is about offense and defense.
The Hegemonic West wants Ukraine so it can put missiles close enough for a first strike knockout of Russia’s defenses and second strike capability.
They have moved ever closer to Russian borders for decades. This they call defensive missile shield. It is a gun to the head of Russia. (So they don’t want peace until they get that gun up against Russian’s temple.)
Putin does not want peace until he can secure a buffer and enough space along his western border to assure his nuclear deterrent is not nullified. (So, no peace possible until Russia is safe.)
But thanks for the effort. It is a very sacred thing to try to make peace. Don’t be discouraged. But understand. The West wants war and instability and Russia wants space around its borders to be neutral.
Why would they invade now and not before? Because the plane downing showed that the US could not be counted on to keep its ward sane? Because Pravy Sektor is mostly wiped out or where the Russians want them? No more units left to resist in most places? Because the Dutch fell for the false flag so Plan A for splitting the EU from the USA did not work where Plan B is to let EU go without gas a few months? I wish the Russians would preannounce potential nuclear plant false flags so they don’t happen
Good interview with Borodai on BBC. He refutes the lies with straight forward answers.

Forget about the mismatch windows thing.
The planes involved were 9M-MRO (MH370) and 9M-MRD (MH17)
At the time of their disappearance/crash they both had the same windows configuration in that area of the fuselage.
They had been different in the past, but were later modified. 9M-MRO shows no window in a picture dated February 2012.
There are any number of pictures by plane-spotters of the aircraft at various stages of the planes’ lives.
I did find something strange when I was checking — the picture posted on facebook by the passenger about to board MH17 (9M-MRD) was actually of 9M-MRC, which is still flying. (Have a look at the nose-wheel flap.) I assume that the passenger posted a picture he got from somewhere else.
Michael
Thank you to Larchmonter445, who said “Neither side wants peace. This is about offense and defense.”
So perhaps it’s true that no one wants peace. Not Merkel, not Putin, although they say they do. Your point is good that Russia needs a buffer. Perhaps my Peace Proposal did not go far enough. I proposed, with various conditions tailored to the needs of all sides, a neutral autonomous region within Ukraine comprising Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts. Neutrality signified no NATO and no Russian military activities in the region. I realize this region isn’t a big enough cover Russia’s border. It falls short.
To make it agreeable to the West, I included protection for all corporate interests, particularly energy. But again, this is not enough, if the West insists on NATO right to Russia’s borders.
Still, the people of Donbass should not be dying for the cause of the West vs. Russia. I believe a proposal can be found, if people think hard enough, and if the time is right.
Something has to be done. All over Twitter I see “#SAVEDONBASSPEOPLE”.
Thanks again for your insight.

There appears to be no letup in the fighting around Donetsk with heavy shelling continuing into the night. I think this is a desperate push – can hope they fail.
BBC interview with Bordai very good – thanks. They spun it of course – I’ve hear what they extracted. OSCE denies they gave instructions about bodies – “not our role to tell people what to do, we are just observers”. But I remember from day 1 Bordai was complaining about this (and its STILL going on – no crash forensics, experts ‘stuck’ in Kiev) so I think the OSCE statement is technically correct but misleading. They cannot tell people what to do in an official capacity – as a directive of their agency – so what they advise or recommend does not carry official weight but Bordai took the unofficial advice to heart – as well he should because he would have been accused of evidence tampering and was anyway.
So many rumors about possible interventions – a real frenzy.
A link about the MH17 black boxes, saying they are undergoing analysis by forensic experts in Britain, of all places, and that it will take two weeks to analyse cockpit voice recorder data.
http://mashable.com/2014/07/23/mh17-cockpit-voice-recorder-black-box/
My question: what are the chances any evidence against the Ukraine government will leak through an “analysis” in Britain? I was hoping to hear the crew puzzling about why Ukraine fighter jets were forcing them off course. Not much possibility of that now. :(
During the time of the USSR, the USA fought many proxy wars against the USSR, and the outcome
@ anonymous @ 17:18
WHERE YOU SAID – “During the time of the USSR, the USA fought many proxy wars against the USSR, and the outcome was always was always the same- death and destruction for unthinkable numbers of innocent Humans, no downside for the USA and no upside for the USSR. America knows it can promise the same outcome for the entire region- with an excellent chance of moving terror campaigns into Russia proper.”
I MUST beg to differ….I was there for a lot of it you know..”no cost to the US” REALLY ? Vietnam alone (a catastrophe. Remember? The US lost and was driven out in humiliation) almost took down the country, and history may record that the US never really survived it..its all been rather costly and destructive. being “the worlds only superpower” and hitman for Europe…especially when Europe doesn’t pay for the service…So we “won the cold war” eh ?? Not looking that way to me…
To the ocmmenter who wanted me to post my Peace Proposal, here is the first part.
Kathleen A. Rosser
Ukraine Peace Proposal
(Preliminary Draft Condensed)
July 14, 2014
Part I
Premise: The killing of the Donbass people must end.
This agreement requires signatures of 1) Petro Poroshenko; 2) designated leaders of the proclaimed Donetsk-Lugansk republic, 3) Vladimir Putin or delegate; and delegates of 4) NATO, 5) the EU, and 6) the IMF.
To establish peace in Ukraine, the following terms must be met:
1. Donetsk-Lugansk must be designated an autonomous region within the nation of Ukraine. Autonomy must include 1) neutrality: neither NATO nor Russian military activities are allowed on Donetsk-Lugansk soil; 2) a currency of choice; 3) control of airspace; 4) exemption from EU regulations; and 5) control of Russian border and trade.
Reason: The Kiev government fears that a fully independent Donetsk-Lugansk would join the Russian Federation. This is unnacceptable to Kiev, the EU, and other factions with regional interests. Also, if Donetsk-Lugansk is not given autonomy, the region’s leaders would continue the fight for independence. Moreover, if Donetsk-Lugansk were not neutral, Russia might be unwilling to sign.
Key Point: The autonomous Donetsk-Lugansk Region must be neutral.
2. Upon ratification of this Plan, all Ukraine military forces will withdraw from Donetsk-Lugansk and a surrounding buffer zone. All military personnel will be allowed to exit the region unhindered. All military equipment now held by Donetsk-Lugansk defense forces will remain in their possession. Donetsk-Lugansk will retain a militia, authorized to act withi its borders. Russian or foreign citizens active in the military conflict will exit Ukraine or lay down arms.
Reason: Ukraine military withdrawal will automatically result in a ceasefire, since there will be no longer be two opposing sides in the region. The Donetsk-Lugansk defense forces will keep their arms, both to ensure near-term security, and to support a militia. If not, the Donetsk Lugansk leaders woul be reluctant to sign this agreement.
Key Point: Ukraine and foreign military must immediately withdraw.
(Continued … For Part II, see next message.)
Update from Canuckistan:
Not that this should come as a surprise (here anyway) but the MSM sure has been very quiet about Yat’s resignation. Unless one noticed the AP article(s) posted earlier, it has been effectively buried.
On another note the Ukie Ambassador has publicly announced “his” displeasure with the Harper Regime for not actually providing the $200,000,000 (vote pandering to the Ukie dispora) that was promised to Ukraine this past spring. When asked by reporters the “official” response provided by the Immigration
Miser, lol, has been that the Harper Regime is looking after our tax dollars.
Full damage control is in effect, protecting and securing votes in the lead up to 2015 is of utmost importance and the Jewish/Ukie base is crucial, without it, this Regime will go down in flames.
If only “we the people” could/would march on Ottawa, they would be gone sooner rather than later…
Here is the second part of the Ukraine Peace Proposal.
Kathleen A. Rosser
3. Neither Poroshenko nor his administration or armed forces shall be indicted for crimes related to the 2014 Ukraine military conflict. No person in Donetsk-Lugansk nor anywhere else shall be indicted for terrorism or other crimes related to this conflict.
Reason: If Poroshenko’s government faced a threat of indictment for war crimes, he might not sign an agreement. If anyone in Donetsk-Lugansk could be indicted for terrorism or other war-related crimes, they would have to keep fighting to protect their lives.
Key Point: Amnesty must be universal.
4. All preexisting corporate contracts affecting land within the Donetsk- Lugansk Region must remain in force.
Reason: If oil or gas contracts or leases were nullified, this would be unacceptable to factions with major regional interests. These factions would then exert influence to stop ratification of the agreement.
Key Point: Existing contracts remain in force.
5. The IMF must not require that loans to the Kiev government be contingent on a fully unified Ukraine, but must be willing to honor a peace settlement with an autonomous Donetsk-Lugansk.
Reason: if an IMF loan is contingent upon full unification, the Kiev government may see no choice but to keep fighting.
Key Point: The IMF must comply regarding its loan requirements.
6. The EU does not require Donetsk-Lugansk to comply with regulations (see item 2).
7. NATO must not conduct military or other activities in Donetsk Lugansk (see item 2).
8. The Russian Federation must not conduct military activities in Donetsk-Lugansk (see item 2).
9. Talks on reparations or referendums for other regions are separate from this agreement. This Plan is not contingent on reparations or the future status of any region other than Donetsk and Lugansk.
Reason: To address these complex issues here could delay ratification.
Key Point: Delay must be avoided.
10. This agreement is self-enforcing. No foreign party will conduct peace-keeping actions, and no region will enforce compliance on another region. This does not preclude the presence of neutral observers.
Reason: If foreign or domestic forces carried out peace-keeping actions, this could exacerbate tensions and increase the risk of enlargement of the conflict. Each signatory acknowledges that compliance is in their best interests.
Key Point: This agreement is self-enforcing.
This Peace Plan expires on (July 30, 2024.)

I have been reading jimstonefreelance. It is compulsive reading. I do believe that there is something wrong with the official story?verdict. My question to you is this. Amsterdam to Kuala Lumper. Wow, how is Reuter’s ever going to regain their reputation after this latest fiasco? From the Saker’s blog….
..As for the Khodakovskii interview hoax, the Reuters reporter apparently never realized that his entire “one on one” conversation with Khodakovskii was video taped. I have not seen it yet, only excerpts, but this video proves that Reuters is guilty of a gross hoax and political manipulation: they tried to do two things simultaneously a) make it look like they had THE proof that the Resistance had (working) BukM1s and create a conflict between Khodakovskii and Strelkov. Now that their forgery has been uncovered it leaves is most “prestigious” and “respectable” organization looking like just an CIA/MI6 front. Good.

Update from Canuckistan:
The ongoing MSM blackout regarding the Harper Regimes boy wonder, Yats the Rat, is in full force. Not one mention about the resignation nor turmoil in the collapsing and imploding Rada, yet an exclusive interview with the elusive “back peddling rebel commander” based upon the now shredded Reuters propaganda.
Since we mentioned the following vote pandering endeavour by the Harper Regime to harness the Ukie vote, the following article will fill in the blanks for those interested. Oddly enough the same strategy was used to harness the Jewish vote but events on the ground seems gobe also working against this warmongering NeoCon Regime, thank goodness. It would appear that no matter how hard the neohasbara gries to spin the stories, they seem to be failing on all fronts.

Kathleen A. Rosser,
Your plan has a lot of merit and it would be good to get it “out there” for consideration. You might try sending it to Pepe Escobar, pepeasia@yahoo.com and see what happens.
Bob Jackson,
Hand-delivered, of course, by Putin himself! ;~)
Thanks Nora. Sorry I don’t know who Pepe Escobar is. I will look him up and try to send him the Peace Plan.
