Serious attempts have been made in Western nations to silence RT, following Russia’s military offensive in Ukraine. The EU Commission has given regulators in the bloc’s nations powers to ban the media outlet. If you’ve faced difficulties accessing RT’s content due to those restrictions, here are some steps you can take to bypass them.
1. If you’re reading RT on your smartphone, you can use our Android app, which can be downloaded via this link.
2. On your PC, you can use the Tor browser, which can be downloaded here. RT’s website address in Tor remains the same: www.rt.com. If Tor doesn’t work for you, or is unavailable via regular means, you can resolve this issue by sending an empty email to gettor@torproject.com and you will be sent the necessary link.
3. Another way of circumventing restrictions is to use the Psiphon censorship-bypass tool, which can be downloaded for Windows, Android, and other systems. Alternatively, you can use a VPN service of your choice. (Windows download here, direct Android download here, and other options here).
4. You can also stay in touch with RT through Telegram by subscribing to RT’s soon-to-be-reborn channel there.
Posted from RT content by Amarynth for the Saker Blog
RT changed it’s satellite for Latin America. You can get both RT and Sputnik south of the border. But really there are so many other sites for good info. RT has gone downhill, just my opinion.
Year RT have gone downhill.
But Roger Waters is still shooting straight.
And I would like to hear what he has to say.
I agree RT is crap, often it seems just like any other Russia bashing MSN. But de.rt.com is a totally different animal, it’s quite good. Some content is translated into German from rt.com, but it has a lot of content that cannot be found on rt.com. It is strange that rt.com is such a 5th column.
RT is ok. Its policy is to be moderate but I don’t see it to be weak on Russia’s interests. Someone must keep up high standards of journalism. Fighting posters find their home here which is also ok.
RT and Sputnik are both hard hit in blocking and censorship. VPN is still the best work around.
Tachyon – a decentralized, blockchain based vpn, some ads but free to use. secure and fast
Only for MacOS it appears
For EU, a very simple way with 0 installation needed is to use the Yandex DNS as primary DNS server.
so in network settings, DHCP, set manual DNS and for primary DNS set 77.88.8.8 and Voilà ! https version of RT and SPUTNIK will be accessible without anything else needed. And Yandex DNS is a rather good uncensored one.
Sadly the totalitarian regime on the European Union is also filtering based on the IP adresses.
That means that the only way to see rt.com pages if you live under the european dictatorship is to use a vpn or proxy.
Well at least from where I am located (France) it work. Might be some DNS cache issue if it doesn’t from your place. Also must use https version not http.
From Germany it works too.
I also add the direct download link for Windows 7
https://psiphon.ca/psiphon3.exe
If the website or download links are blocked or censored, you may request to have the downloads sent to you via email.
get@psiphon3.com
The RT solution for using Psiphon also solves the problem of youtube “video not available in your country”.
But there are still problems with the Kremlin website and with Foreing affairs ministry.
Very difficult to access, certificate problems/ssl, or slow connection, or connection “reset” (whatever that might mean) or whatever else – and I get the same problems, either with Tor or Psiphon.
Thanks, it works(a bit slower to open, 1 sec no more).
RT France website goes on, but the tv channel filled for bankruptcy(cleanly paying three months salaries), 176
French, including 100 journos(young mainly) lose their job, tks to Von der layen junta and macron dictator.
They will of course unfortunately(they were pretty good) NEVER find a new job in journalism as France is now a
fascist US occupied state.
No censorship on tass, interfax, sputnik.fr.
On fakebook, telegram total censorship here. They are even starting to block ‘pro russian’ sites or not even pro russian, bu neutral.
France is Pétain 2.0 now with macron.
Even fake opponent Zemmour(ultra racist anti muslims, want to do exactly do the same as they are doing now
on Russians).
He is now fully alligned NATO/EU, as Le Pen is (but she is a bit less) and all other pro EU/NATO candidates.
Macron is already reelected, good news for CIA, the billionaires, very bad for YVests and middle class.
He will finish to destroy France by selling the last good companies for almost nothing to yankees.
He will be even more dangerous in a second term as he will not look to be reelected in 2027( if we are still
alive).
I accessed it through Rumble. Easy to set up an account and can now watch RT International live, no problems. I live in Bulgaria and always watched RT as I thought it gave good unbiased content. Had two days without it, but through Rumble now, I am a happy bunny.
The irony is that the country I have chosen as my home from 2005 was an ex Soviet state which joined the EU in 2007, joining the world of “free speech and freedom of the press” as fundamental European rights and “values”.
I am British by the way and voted to remain in the EU! Some reflection needed there I think!
RT is still posting regularly at Gab: RT. Not that familiar with it, but believe this is the official RT – same logo anyway, and it’s a “verified account”. Just “followed” it myself.
You can always move to Mexico. No restrictions here nor support to the sanctions of the Empire of lies and the criminal regime in Kiev.
I couldn’t find RT on Google, so I searched using DuckDuckgo and it came up. The latest headline is “US lawmakers react to call for Putin assassination.
Horrible translation, shit is hard to translate?
I can’t access the site from NZL I get “403 – Forbidden” error message
I dont believe the news is going to change much, but the change in your pocket might not be there very long though.
yeah, I’ve been using VPN via Colombia which works fine, lot of other nations still blocking it so I had to try a few to get a lock on. Was surprised Hungary didn’t work but then theyre EU of course so …
Wouldn’t the tor method be bad because of multiple different node locales? Wouldn’t a VPN with Russia/Belarus servers or Russia/Belarus proxies be the better option?
Honestly, I never use the RT website but I prefer some of the stories Faran and co. had on youtube.
Which, for the time being… you can use a Canadian VPN to view RT, Ruplty, the abandoned Sputnik YT channel, RussiaUN, etc.
But, and I repeat BUT. Canada has a newly established “fake news law” which they can fine you or arrest you…. so do not be tempted to comment, just like/dislike)
You can also access RT on Gab.
Saw it’s already been noted in the comments. But, Gab is an important lesson because they have been fighting the same war with cancel culture that Russia is facing now on a small scale.
Gab has been cancelled by Visa, MasterCard and Google app store to name just a few and is still alive and growing.
Btw., RT.com isn’t blocked in China. :)
(Obviously, a lot of other pages are.)
Still available in Canada. I wonder for how long.
I tried the Tor browser at my end. No success. This is what I got:
403 – Forbidden . That’s an error.
Client does not have access rights to the content so server is rejecting to give proper response. That’s all we know.
RT and other Russian media would do well to commission Onion server which completely bypasses domain name servers (DNS) (and associated A Record IP address), interference. Very easy to accomplish. Onion servers typically map to localhost address 127.0.0.1 which every server has so difficult for outsiders to geolocate the real ip address of the server.
Getting the onion address published so everyone knows where to go just in case is the biggest issue.
A very good podcast with Scott Ritter and Mark Sleboda.
“CN LIVE! S4E3 UKRAINE UPDATE” (15 hours ago)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjOkk-xfMfQ
At the end Mark Sleboda mentions the MS Windows “Update Terroism” risk to personal computers.
He was speaking from his home in Moscow.
It has always been annoying as I do not have a fast internet link.
And it seems to ‘randomly’ occur whenever the social media temperatures rise.
His comment (towards the end of the podcast) led me to find this link (below) and take appropriate action.
His MS “Office” suit comment — I have not so far looked into.
“How to stop automatic updates on Windows 10”
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-stop-updates-installing-automatically-windows-10
“How to stop automatic updates on Windows 10”
The easiest way, is to stop Windows, I just can’t believe, that even those informed people use this spy-software. he should just link to “how to set up a Linux distribution”.
They should encourage people to not use proprietary and closed source soft- and hardware.
For a couple of years now, I even use only pure android devices, without integrated google-framework.
Kubuntu for me for over a decade. I have to boot into Windows two or three times a year for a day. That’s it. No Twatter or Fakebook and moving off Goolag (just email now, use Brave search, etc).
For those who aren’t familiar with VPN’s, if you use a VPN, you usually get a choice of from which node you are seen to be on the internet from. For example, a log right now would record me being from Vancouver area of Canada, but that’s only the ‘node’ that I’m currently using. So, I would have my internet limited by restrictions in Canada. If I don’t like that, I can, at the click of a button and a short log-on delay, switch to any of a long list of other countries. Rather handy for ignoring most of these nationalist efforts to control what parts of the internet one can see. I can be in a different country in about 10 seconds.
It is also handy for avoiding ‘surveilence capitalism’. Google don’t know what I do.
… and I use Opera (which provides a VPN option) or Tor — but I also regularly clear my history and cookies etc just in case. And, in my case, with a slower link, to also squeeze out a few last drops of speed etc.
RT.com loading fine from San Francisco. At one point I was getting DDoS-Guard prompt first, but I just tried it again and no prompt.
Sputniknews, com comes up but not their regular front page. No sophisticated graphics.
Another not fully brainwashed Brit…

Almost all of the major VPN companies – in my view – are fronts for CIA/MI6. Especially those that are heavily promoted/known. How safe is Psiphon?
When I first saw this page I thought: “great, a Russian or pro-Russia VPN, just what I’ve been looking for!”.
NO SUCH LUCK!
It is Canadian, and 100% of selectable servers are in neo-nazi supporting states – USA, UK, Canada, Netherlands etc etc. Not a single democratic country. Nearest is India which appeares to have doubts about supporting Ukro-nazis and is allied with Russia, but which is a fanatical fascist country in its own right under Modi. Or Serbia, where most of the population is pro-Russia but with a russophobic and fanatically neolib President and PM. Or perhaps Hungary, but I couldn’t get a connection through Hungary.
So I selected Switzerland – and my browser immediately and automatically opened nazi malware site voanews.com.
I looked at the ‘about us’ for Psiphon – the founder came from Citizen Labs, from where Psiphon originated as a project. Citizen Labs is by default in my good books – NSA spyware backdoors discovered there and published – but (a) my memory might be failing me and I may be confusing it with another organisation; or (b) it could have been infiltrated since then.
So anybody with insight on this question please share.
Why does Psiphon use exclusively pro-nazi servers?
RT got nuked on telegram, and I even have their website apk. I am very confused… what Russian law did they break?
In the UK I have no problem at all reaching rt.com. And even when I use a VPN from an EU country, I have no problem reaching rt. I don’t understand this article’s problem.
What I do soundly regret is that RT TV has been taken off the air in the EU, UK and USA. I find this deeply offensive, and not well reflective of the values of freedom of press and opinion we traditionally have espoused.
This is a very worrisome trend, esp in light of the fact that much of the Russian-rejection is voluntary and not even required by law. We are entering a very dark period in our history.
This morning in UK tor nor a “free” Supervpn are not working….gonna try the physon thingy… wants to send me notifications not sure about that…..I do like crosstalk in parts but cannot get to that now youtube..
psyphon can sometimes get the rt website….click on a couple of articles….acess forbidden 403
certainly cannot get it live ineg news…..which I want!!!!!
Maybe after Sunday Herb can advise?????
also go IZVESTIA.ru using Yandex.com automatic/free translate pointer & miniwindow. Now finally –
**Минобороны объявило о режиме тишины в Мариуполе и Волновахе для работы гумконвоев**humanitarian convoys permitted Mariupol…..
‘Nasty Atlantixist Terror Organ’ & Uncle Scwhab in Davos will most definitely perform
Uncle Joe Bidding skid/poop marks in silky knickers (in a twist too…)
The Psiphon app works for me, RT access is once again available, like it was before the zionazis blocked it.
RT is still available from Spain.
RT is no longer accessible in Portugal, I’m afraid. Nor Sputnik. But then again, Portugal is sending lethal weapons to Ukraine such as… helmets, night vision googles, and G3 riffles! It’s rather hilarious, more so given that recruits take shifts due to lack of militar equipment. A few months ago they even had a lack of underwear! Not even a joke: https://cnnportugal.iol.pt/noruega/soldados/recrutas-noruegueses-obrigados-a-devolver-roupa-interior-devido-a-falha-no-fornecimento/20281231/61d88fd50cf2c7ea0f11bca0
Get a VPN, choose a non-NATO server location. Works very well.
No need to pay even, there are plenty of time-limited trials… can’t say more legally.
I have no problem accessing RT with Yandex search.
Just digit “RT Russian” and when front page comes click on Translate > English
Moreover you can have steady flow of infos with Yandex with the following addresses.
https://cont.ws/@voenkorr/2220440
https://vz.ru/news/2022/2/28/1146101.html
https://fine-news.ru/
Yandex is wuite good at translating in English
If you have an Android TV or Firestick, you can download the RT News app using Downloader.
Install Downloader.
Go to apkpure.com/rt-news-for-tv/com.rt.tv and download and install.
You can no longer access the RT News app on Google Play.
Dear Saker,
I’m aware not the topic of the article, but it’s one of the ones with least comments, so I thought I’d ask:
What’s your take on Elon’s musk in all of this..exceptionalist on Twitter think he can replace Russian rockets and American brooms…et al..including his upper for Ukraine. Even tho his “wealthy” he must toe a line imfer…
Thanks for considering my question.
When trying to access RT with Tor, I first get to the DDos Guard and then get a 403 error.
Trying to access Sputnik, the browser goes into a coma.
I occasionally check in the headlines on the wayback machine to make sure the world hasn’t blown up.
There are a ton of other sources available. I think the logic was that they think people only get their info from TV and that therefore only RT exists. topwar.ru is one I find useful.
Still don’t understand why I can’t access RT or Sputnik with Tor though. What tricks do I need? Actually Tor didn’t let me access Saker either once.
Suggestions on how to AVOID as much as possible Anglo-Zionist, NATO, Murdoch-Fox, BBC, Reuters, FT, DeutscheWelle etc., disinformation and hysteria.
Предложения о том, как максимально уклониться от англо-сионистской, натовской, Murdoch-Fox, BBC, Reuters и т.д., дезинформации и истерии.
(translated with DeepL AI..)
For my poor level of Russian, so Reading, Listening and Understanding at 40 to even 90%! (think positive, you old coot!!!) would be welcome.
Russian news & information, interviews etc., destined for Russian speakers in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus etc.
one tentative suggestion:
a) open Yandex.com for ie., Izvestia.ru, with free automatic triangular pointer to dialogue box with English. DO NOT expect perfect translations particularly of idioms and slang – it is acceptable.
b) if using MacOs, activate free Russian female voice, *Milena*, at slow speed. This helps with getting used to reading Cyrillic and simultaneously looking at English or other language in dialogue box. Repeat at least 2x..
Also listening to a Russian female voice turns me on!!!
c) use fantastic FREE kartaslov.ru (map-words) which gives clear illustrated indications of prefixes-roots-suffixes-tenses etc.,
kartaslov.ru also provides synonyms, antonyms, similar morphological structure and current examples.
These long multi-prefixes socio-politico terms, especially with high level speakers like VVP & company, are a REAL CHALLENGE for half-wits such as self.
Those constantly appearing 250 plus essential Russian roots words, usually 2 to 4 letters long (correct please..) frequently change 1-2 letters depending on tense, cases etc., and are often disguised/confused in the midst/middle of these painfully long prefix, preposition and suffix strands..
КАРТАСЛОВ.РУ — Карта слов и выражений русского языка.
Again use Yandex translate & voice over.
d) Ideally, if one could also hi-lite desired & most frequently used Russian words and/or prefixes and/or root verbs and/or prepositions with different colours, bold, underline. Then download & reference to your own Excel spreadsheet of Russian vocabulary, terms, areas of interest.
++ Please Javascript/HTTP/VBA/python programmers is this possible to have a ‘hovering’ app/routine over the Yandex.com sites.
Thanks for your assistance. спасибо за вашу помощь
PS: Russian video interviews with no captions/subtitles – for 2023 perhaps with Huawei operating system.
Excuse length moderator, perhaps place in Cafe…
It is simply amazing how in the “Empire of Lies” people are deprived of access to impartial, complete, accurate and reliable information!
“Child murderers from “Azov”, where the Ukrainian military took refuge in Bucha. Chronicle of events in Ukraine at 13: 00 on March 5″.
I can recommend another source Ukraine.Ru – https://clck.ru/dXEaB The link is immediately translated into English through a shortener.
This online media is written by journalists and political scientists who were forced to flee Ukraine after the events of 2014.
I´m getting a warning regarding Psiphon when I tried to download it(This sort of file can harm your computer), Does anyone know if they´re safe?
I could access RT over Tor for 2 days, but now are consistently screwed by DDosGuard. It is displaying
“We have registered suspicious traffic coming from your network.
Using this page, we will be able to determine that you are not the robot.”
When configured correctly, it should display a “I am not a robot” checkbox, then offer captchas. But there is none.
Obviously RT screwed configuration (DDosGuard is server side), or it is compromised in other ways.
I am using the Psiphon tool. It works, but one has to select a country in the options that isn’t blocking RT. Don’t know anything about that outfit, though, and will remove it once the israeloamerican queens stop blocking RT. I find RT useful, and combined with Sputnik, who I’ve not had problems accessing, the 2 provide pretty good coverage of what is happening. I don’t follow the ziomedia, and really don’t give a s. about the nonsense they are spinning.
Protonvpn seems to work better …but is subscription eg 8 dollars a month.. connected via iceland and Russia can get live broadcasts ….thanks stepson
Thank you Saker …
Downloaded Tor to try getting access to RT back – Getting a “403-Forbidden” message
Currently based in Guatemala. At beginning of conflicts, i was able to access rt.com intermittently but everyday it is getting worse. it has been a few days starting to receive “403-Forbidden” messages. In fact, it behaves the same even resorting to vpn and tor. I am starting to feel DDos guard is failing to discriminate between valid and malicious packets.
I’m in BC, Canada. I’ve been following your site since 2014 and thank you very much for all the information. There is blanket ignorance of the events of the past 8 years here and most people are only informed by the MSM. Ukie flags blossoming all over the place. Sunflower motifs all over Facebook. I delete all these from my page. I really like sunflowers and I don’t want my happy sunflower feelings spoilt by association with Ukraine.
I’m utterly disgusted with our PM. We were a peacekeeping nation, now he is trying to out-sanction everyone else. It will boomerang badly and smack us in the face and other places where it hurts.
There have been a couple of incidents of vandalism against Russian buildings – a church for crying out loud, and a community center. The hatred being stoked up by biased news reports is very dangerous for Russians living here and I fear for them. My son has friends, a Russian married to a Ukrainian with young children, Canadians now, and they are very anxious.
Re access to RT, I can no longer access it on you tube, or from Bing on MS Edge, but my home page on my Edge browser is Duck Duck Go and I can access it from there just as before. Also Odysee works. The Telegram link you gave doesn’t work for me. There is a message that the site is blocked.
At least I can talk to my sons, who I have raised to question everything and look beyond the headlines. Thanks again for everything you do. It helps keep me sane.
Running iOS – even using Tor, Rt website is blocked. It’s not a big deal as there are better places I find the information – like here, and The Duran, Metallicman or avia-pro. For some unknown reason YT has not banned RT so if I am in a hurry, I watch their short segments.
I do not agree that rt is going downhill, because they are still on air, using domin .site, ,xyz, and a third one, .team, and beside that, it is a company like duckduckgo.com just left about all used equipment for about some twenty users here, I am in charge for the firewall, the server and ip-sec. I can be frank saying that we used duckduckgo for about four years, after telling they censor this content, they just shut the door from the outside, and they will stay outside in their selfish search bubble……and there is a longer list for other content spam, we simply do not need to waste our time, twenty users, and about something on data-traffic….does not mean the bigger ones are better……
None of the .ru banned sites, or RT/Sputnik, can be accessed through TOR.
Either there’s better ways to use TOR, or TOR isn’t a way to access those sites as of now.
Can anyone confirm?
You can join vk.com, there is an RT channel. VK is more free and open than FB.
EU is a dictatorship!
Psiphon is also available in the Apple App Store. I just downloaded it and was able to browse the RT site using a Swiss server. Thanks for this public service article!
