I didn’t plan on covering the Moskva anymore, as I like many want to move on past that topic. But since the unexpected release of the only known images of the stricken cruiser, there are a few things that must be stated for the record, simply because I see no one else in the resistance sphere stating them, and certainly they will be covered up on the other side, as everything the other side sees merely adds to their own delusions and selective biases, reaffirming their already-held (false) and propagandized beliefs. I will try to make it as concise/short as possible. First the main photo of the cruiser:
This image was taken and leaked from aboard the Turkish ship that answered the SOS call and helped rescue some of the sailors:
Upon cursory glance, this seems like a typical/likely missile strike. Center midships hit, portside list of ship, burn/explosion marks, etc, etc. However there’s a few major problems that few are discussing. Now keep in mind, I’m no naval expert but know enough to talk with some authority on certain things.
Firstly, the burn marks you see along the portside hull are clearly smoke/fume exhalation points along the ports which dot the hull. The larger burn marks which are slightly lower on the hull are actually where the ship has larger ports for torpedo tubes (special kind of torpedo that slides out and drops into the water). This can clearly be seen in a reference photo of the ship.
Click this link to zoom in on the high quality image: https://i.postimg.cc/s2nLj8kf/FQl-Tx-XOXMAMc3a-Xb.jpg
You see the red circles? Those are the lower / larger torpedo tube ports. They would have a larger amount of black fumes due to the presumable much more intense fire coming out of them if the torpedoes inside exploded or were on fire, etc.
So the first thing to get out of the way is, none of those black marks on the ship appear to be from any missile hits, they are merely the ports and torpedo slots emitting fire from the inside of the ship and burning/blackening the hull around them. You can see the red circles line up from both before and after images of the ship.
In the photo of the damaged ship, the large red circle clearly implies the area where a missile might have hit, as there is a lot of blackened areas there. But there is no clear sign of destruction, the blackened area appears to be roughly similar to the torpedo tube hole on the far right in the smaller red circle. In that center area there are ammunition departments plus power plant, so clearly an explosion from inside could have happened.
Here’s when the Sheffield was hit in the Falklands War https://youtu.be/hUsY_PznmTg?t=111 You can see the damage on the side.
And here’s some images of the USS Stark when it was hit by an Iraqi plane with an Exocet missile. Keep in mind both HMS Sheffield and Stark were hit by Exocets, and this missile is similar in size to the Neptune that Ukraine alleged to have used.
The difference is quite clear that there is massive damage seen, with an eruption outward of the metal after the explosion. No such damage is seen on the Moskva, only intense burn marks that are also visible from every porthole along the hull going aft.
Now one could argue that a large hole is perhaps hidden by the water as the ship is clearly listed heavily to the port side. But I think we would still see the top of the hole much more clearly because these sea-skimming missiles do skim the sea at about 50ft then drop a little lower at terminal phase, BUT they don’t drop THAT low where they’re literally on the water line. As you can see from the Sheffield and Stark hits, they still hit the hull at roughly 15-20ft up above water, not at mere inches above the water. They can’t be programmed to go TOO low on account of waves, otherwise they might strike a wave in stormy seas and be a wasted missile.
But these things are debatable so far. Here are some even more interesting things.
1. Firstly it has been noted by experts that in the Moskva photos, ALL life boats are missing which means they were deployed, which means already the Ukrainian side is caught in one lie because it means the sailors were in fact saved. The crane can even be seen in a sideward, non diametric position which means it was used to lower lifeboats to the water.
2. Now here’s some very interesting things. The last known satellite photos of the Moskva show it oriented with bow facing south/southeast, and its portside facing east.
This photo is from 2300 hours of April 12, the Moskva was hit some hours later the next day. The Moskva was supposedly stationary like many of the Russian frigates in this region. It would be impossible for Ukrainian missiles coming from the direction of Odessa NW to hit the portside which is here facing east.
Here’s another source of the last known photos of the ship.
Note the direction of Odessa and where the missiles would come from, then note the orientation of the ship and its later-to-be-damaged portside.
3. Now here’s where it gets even more interesting. The green circle on the original photo I posted shows the fire-control radar of the ship
This radar has been noted by naval experts to be in the ‘standby’ or neutral rearward facing position. You can check hundreds of photos/videos of the Moskva in transit on the internet, and the radar always faces rearward. But when it engages a target, it pivots and orients towards the target. So this suggests that during the hit of the Moskva, the fire control radar was not engaging any targets. Of course western ‘analysts’ say this means the Moskva was struck blind by their wunderwaffen stealth missiles and never saw them coming.
But, there’s a major problem with that theory:
4. Their own story is in fact that the Moskva was “distracted” by multiple TB2 drones used as decoys, which the Moskva was targeting as it failed to notice the magical Neptune missiles broadside it. Here’s a graphic from their own tall tale:
You notice something I circled in red on their own graphic? They themselves are showing the fire-control radar pointing in the direction of the phantom TB2’s in this hypothetical mockup. That means according to their own theory, in order to have successfully ‘distracted’ the Moskva as they claim, the fire-control radar dome MUST have been kept busy by the TB2’s, yet clearly it remained in the standby peacetime position.
Using logic, no matter how you explain it, the Ukrainian side must be lying in at least one part of their statement. Either no TB2s were used and in fact a “stealthy” Neptune just happened to hit the Moskva with zero warning or they were used to distract and the radar should have been tracking them. But then why would you believe the second part of their statement about the Neptunes being used when they clearly lied about the TB2 decoy usage as proven by the radar’s stock position?
And by the way, there is some chance one can possibly believe that a sea-skimming missile might bypass radar, but there is no chance a high flying TB2 (and multiple of them at that) will go undetected, and anyway they admitted they were detected because they were “distracting the Moskva” radar operators according to the official story.
Now consider the following:
- If Ukraine really had the capability of using some Neptune missile to hit the Moskva, why would it only use 2 and allow the Moskva to still stay afloat for almost a whole day afterwards, being towed to base? Even in the photo the Moskva is cleared of crew and unprotected, why couldn’t Ukraine continue firing to finish it off in that moment of uncertainty?
- And further, why couldn’t the magical TB2’s also rain down their own missiles on the now crippled and de-crewed cruiser to finish it off?
- If TB2’s were in the air, where’s the footage? Ukraine loves posting any possible footage of their use, so how come there’s no glorious high-def footage of Neptune missiles slamming into the ship from the perspective of the TB2’s magnificent Canadian-manufactured cameras/optics?
It all boils down to this fact: that if Ukraine lied about even one part of the story, such as the TB2’s which clearly is the most debunked part of the tale, then why would any other part be believable? And the photo also proves they lied about the 450 dead sailors because we know every single lifeboat was deployed as not even one is visible on the ship, which clearly suggests the vast majority, if not all, of the sailors survived. (the sailors reappeared in footage yesterday, anyway) This strongly suggests that the entire ‘Neptune missile’ hoax is just that.
The damage does not quite look like massive Exocet-sized missile strikes which would have gutted the hull, it looks like intense fire burn marks pouring out of every port and torpedo slot due to some internal detonation that gutted the inside of the ship right at that midway point beneath the smokestacks where the engine room lies. And big surprise – this was exactly the Russian MOD’s original explanation.
So if it wasn’t a missile, what caused it then? I don’t want to speculate as that’s a whole other topic for another time or another person. All I will say is that Andrei Martynov had some good suggestions in his recent video, particularly the sabotage part. Considering the ship was stationed in Sevastopol with sailors who might have clear connections via family to the Ukrainian side of the conflict vis a vis Crimea, etc., there could have been a vindictive sailor apt to pay back Russia for Ukraine. And as Martynov said, setting something on fire and blowing it up in the internals of the ship would be extremely easy for someone in the know. After all, as I’ve posted before, it’s happened many times in other navies including recently for the U.S. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/dec/14/sailor-charged-over-fire-that-destroyed-us-warship-disgruntled-prosecutors-say when a disgruntled sailor completely destroyed the Bonhomme Richard with over $3 billion of damage.
Anyway, it’s still possible the Moskva was hit with missiles – I don’t discount anything. But look at the facts presented above and make up your own judgments.
Now onto the actual piece I intended to present today:
I wanted to do a quick ‘deep-dive’ on one of the current central topics in western circles around Ukraine, which is that the AFU is running out of ammo, particularly of the heavy variety – artillery shells and the like, which is by far the most important kind in a war; small arms fire won’t get you far as artillery continues to rule the battlefield, as it always has.
This CNN article states the U.S. is shipping 40,000 artillery rounds. Of course it can be assumed at least some of this load will be destroyed by Russian strikes, if not all of it.
The article says, “During some of the heavy earlier fighting, Ukrainian forces fired up to thousands of artillery rounds in a given day.”
This is easy to verify. The typical firing rate of various artillery systems can be anywhere from 3-10 rounds per minute (rpm). That means a single unit can fire anywhere between 180 to 600 shells in an hour.
Ukraine likely still has at least several hundred of various artillery systems if you count even the old towed-style soviet systems like D-30’s and such. So let’s just say (for quick argument’s sake) 200 units x 200 shells an hour = 40,000. This is already 40,000 shells in a single hour of firing (realistically this “hour of firing” can be spread out throughout the course of a day in let’s say 10 minute firing bursts, etc)
So clearly this demonstrates how rapidly such ammo stocks dwindle. These 40k shells sent by U.S. could be mere hours worth, or perhaps a few days at most if my hypothetical calculations overestimate the AFU shelling rates.
But it goes deeper than that. There are now questions about the fact that the massive arming campaign for Ukraine is depleting the stocks of all participating NATO countries.
“But President Joe Biden never planned for a war like this. The assumption was that Russia would quickly conquer much of the country, so the U.S. would be supporting a simmering, low-intensity Ukrainian insurgency. Instead, Ukraine’s successful resistance has led to an ongoing, high-intensity conventional fight, with prodigious consumption of munitions and intense attrition of key military assets.”
Funny how the logic here is reversed. We were told it was Russia that didn’t plan for a war like this, and it was Russia that would run out of ammo and supplies. But now they’re admitting that it was in fact the U.S. themselves who miscalculated and are running out…whoops! Add to that the way the article blithely treats Biden as the head of the Ukrainian state / war effort as if he’s the AFU Commander in Chief – totally normal. “But President Biden never planned for a war like this.” Who’s running this war anyway?
“Pentagon officials say that Kyiv is blowing through a week’s worth of deliveries of antitank munitions every day. It is also running short of usable aircraft as Russian airstrikes and combat losses take their toll. Ammunition has become scarce in Mariupol and other areas.”
“For the same reason, the war in Ukraine is a sobering preview of the problems the U.S. itself would face in a conflict against Russia or China. If forced to go to war in Eastern Europe or the Western Pacific, Washington would spend down its stockpiles of missiles, precision-guided munitions and other critical capabilities in days or weeks. It would probably suffer severe losses of tanks, planes, ships and other assets that are sophisticated, costly and hard to replace.”
Interesting! So it was actually the U.S. all along that had no stocks for war, not Russia.
In fact the Pentagon and MSM lied all along. Russia is by far the largest producer of armaments, shells, ammunition on earth, more than all NATO countries combined. The lie we were fed about Russia running out of fuel, ammo, food, etc., was laughable and seen through by any analyst with a brain from the beginning.
But more shocking revelations abound:
“In the world wars of the last century, America’s unmatched manufacturing base ultimately powered it to victory. But today, replenishing the free world’s arsenal might not be so easy.
American economic leadership is no longer based primarily on manufacturing. Shortages of machine tools, skilled labor and spare production capacity could slow a wartime rearmament effort. The U.S. can’t quickly scale up production of Stinger missiles for Ukraine, for example, because the workforce needed to do so no longer exists.”
And this bombshell: “American stockpiles of key weapons are smaller than one might imagine, partly because of production constraints and partly because most of the Pentagon’s roughly $750 billion budget goes to manpower, health care and things other than bullets and bombs.”
I’ve wrote multiple times now in previous SitReps the small inconvenient fact most people don’t know, that a huge portion of U.S.’s entire vaunted military budget goes just to the upkeep and maintenance of its system of 900+ global bases. That number of bases costs gargantuan, unprecedented amounts of funds to maintain and run.
Of course this is why the Pentagon has convened all the top arms makers for emergency meetings, presumably to discuss the issues of trying to ramp up production to fill dwindling draw down supplies.
https://www.reuters.com/world/pentagon-asks-top-8-us-arms-makers-meet-ukraine-sources-2022-04-12/
But there are other sources that have echoed the sentiment that right now the U.S. lacks even the manufacturing capacity to reproduce many of these armaments in great quantities, like the stingers mentioned in the article. One third of all U.S. Javelin stockpiles have already been sent to Ukraine and have paid no dividends, and mostly fallen into the hands of RF forces.
And on top of that the arms producers are actually facing “supply chain issue” of critical components (like microchips etc), like the rest of the world, which is hampering their ability to ramp up production on any of these key units.
“The latest batch of U.S. military equipment has begun arriving in Ukraine, including: – 18 155mm howitzers – 11 Mi-17 helicopters – 200 armored personnel carriers – 300 Switchblade drones – 500 Javelin missiles – 10 counter-artillery radars.”
“For perspective: 500 Javelins will cover three to five days of fighting. 18 howitzers will account for maybe 3% of deployed field artillery. That many or more get lost in a week. The rate of assistance is a fraction of the rate of depletion.”
And on that note, we segue perfectly into today, where the major update is that Russia has ramped up its strikes drastically. Sources in Kiev state they are using 50% more aviation and large amounts of depots were struck overnight including in Lyvov near the Polish border.
https://twitter.com/Cyberspec1/status/1516013596412878858
“Fmr deputy of Verkhovna Rada, Ilya Kiva, citing his sources, reports that as a result of a missile strike on a facilty in #Lvov, a whole arsenal of foreign weapons and ammo was destroyed this morning. It was delivered from EU and was intended to be sent to the Kharkov direction.”
“Novorosinform REPORTED:Military Aid From #Europe is Destroyed, The Former Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada announced that an arsenal of Weapons and ammunition Delivered By the West to #Ukraine was destroyed by #Russian Missile strikes last night at the #Lviv Railstation.”
“1/2 The Russian Aerospace Forces launched a strike with high-precision missiles at the 124th Joint Logistics Support Center of the Logistics Forces Command of the Ukrainian troops in the Lviv region, the Russian Defense Ministry reports. 2/2 The logistics center and the large consignments of foreign weapons that were delivered to Ukraine from the United States and European countries over the past 6 days were destroyed.”
Footage of some of the Lyvov strikes: https://twitter.com/RWApodcast/status/1516085727058178052
So for all those people asking for days if/when/how/why about Russia destroying western shipments, there’s your answer, it just blew away a huge week’s worth of accumulated equipment on the Polish border, including many dead from the AFU which are even reported on Ukr channels.
And so this brings us to the last point: there are many indications that Phase 2 Offensive may have begun today. There is a huge uptick in fighting all along every frontline along with these new strikes. There are huge gains being reported hourly around Izyum direction and on the southern front, west of Donetsk. It’s too early to say definitively if it’s begun or just the early preparatory work but so far it’s right on time with what many have been saying, which is that Phase 2 would begin early this week.
I’ll leave the specific updates for the next report, so as to let them accumulate as it’s still early. But I’ll mention a few general things.
There are huge smoke plumes coming off of Azovstal and Wargonzo reports RF elements are storming from the north and have already captured the northern part of the Azovstal industrial complex
https://twitter.com/Levi_godman/status/1516085674046377990 https://twitter.com/PelmeniPusha/status/1516086393549824007
In the now intense battles in the north (near Izyum), our side reports that the AFU is throwing everything they have into the battle, not only multiple new planes shot down which means they’re desperately using the last of their aviation, but entire units have been completely wiped out and captured. And from the new captures it’s discovered many of them are from cities in the far West which means these are already the mobilized reserves sent to stop the Russian advances.
Also reports state many of the newly captured are of extremely low morale as they are no longer putting up much resistance. One report said when previously they would attempt to fight out of encirclement, now they are laying down their arms immediately at the first sign of encirclement and not even bothering to fight. There are so many new surrenders I can barely even keep track anymore and post all the videos, and this includes many new graphic ones of destroyed units.

Hi Night Vision… appreciating your SitRep from Nairobi, Kenya. Just came across this latest breaking news headline:
“Mariupol commander calls for pope to intervene to secure evacuations from besieged city”
Can be read from here: https://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/europe/mariupol-commander-calls-for-pope-to-intervene-to-secure-evacuations-from-besieged-city-1.4855936
Is this call for a humanitarian corridor from the encircled Azovstal plant a clever alternative to surrendering?
The Pope? How many divisions does he have?
LOL!
Lauguing till the definitive fall of US dollar!
How many are involved, there is the number of the ” Pope’s Divisions “, because the Vatican is what’s behind all this.

ja ja ja ja ja ja ja !!! good one
The f**ked up beyond all reasonable doubt Irish Times.
The Irish Times was ever thus.
No, once upon a time the Irish Times was a very balanced paper. Legendary reporter Conor O Cleary was it’s Moscow correspondent in the 90’s after the fall of the SU. He was very accurate in his reporting of the shock therapy and its impact of ordinary Russians. He actually married a Russian lady. Also, he documented the rise of the Russian Mafia (Oligarchs). He was later Irish Times correspondent in Washington. His Predecessor in Washington was Sean Cronin, another fine journalism from the old school.
Sometime, I think over the last ten years, it was taken over by the neo-con influenced wokeism. I stopped buying it about that time, whereas I had been a subscriber since I was about 18. It was of course one of the biggest campaigners for gay marriage and abortion, pushing the Soro agenda, no doubt subsidised by him. Now it’s a total rag, unworthy of use for sanitary tissue.
First, there is no besieged city … not anymore. Even Nazi control of Azovstal is started to shrink rapidly.

No mines? I thought the area was mined to slow the assault. The soldiers didn’t seem concerned w/that possibility,
Thanks everyone for all your educative enlightenment as regards both the Pope, and the discredited Irish Times. These are the type of morsels of tidbits that can only be learnt on these online streets. Well, after the Pope recently started personally talking about visiting Kiev in the Thick of war, I’ve been wondering about his possible interest in this war. Certainly, it did sound like he was on the side of Ukraine, in which case then a whole new input as regards the Vatican’s possible role should then be fully integrated in this war in Ukraine.
It is indeed a legitimate thing to then pose this question, should the Pope ever be found to be actively playing a role in all this: Is The Pope An Oligarch???
In Nairobi after the Kenyan African freedom fighters threw out the British colonialists, the Pope ended up being one of the biggest owners of Prime Land in Kenya’s capital city. His billions worth of land is situated right smack in Westlands, Nairobi’s most prestigious suburb, and it appears to be in the hundreds of acres- stretching also into Lavington, another of Nairobi’s premiummost suburb. It starts just opposite the Kabete military barracks, meanders past Muthangari police station and stretches for miles and miles to Strathmore. In Nairobi also, the Catholic Church also owns two of the best of Kenya’s 53 universities: Strathmore University-couple miles from Nairobi’s CBD- and The Catholic University located at Nairobi’s Karen suburb. The Karen suburb is home to Kenya’s political class, and hosts the home and office of Kenya’s deputy president, as well as two of Kenya’s biggest opposition politicians including very many others. The Catholic University compound has lately been playing an outsized role as host of Kenya’s presidential debates. Overall, the Catholic Church is one of the biggest land owners and possesses lots of the best of Kenyan schools, hospitals and businesses including a radio/TV station and a bank: Caritas.
As regards the vast land holding in Nairobi’s blue ribbon suburbs of Westlands and Lavington, the big question is this: does Jesus need all this land, especially because it is near two of Nairobi’s biggest slums, Kangemi, Kawangware and Kibagare where overcrowded public primary schools exist in relatively small land holdings. However, the most intriguing Kenyan indulgence of the Catholic Church is its recent foray into operating guest houses, widely advertised in its two or so TV stations. In Nairobi particularly, guest houses are regarded as just slightly above lodgings in terms of ill-repute. Lodgings in our city host some of the busiest, filthiest brothels.
In light of the above and below comments as regards the Irish times, and the Pope, methinks Russia should thus be very very wary of the Pope’s role, intent and scope- in the war in Ukraine.
Welcome James. Always wonderful to hear new voices and to hear of the ongoing realities in cities and countries many of us are keenly interested in and want to visit. I know someday I hope to.
Fascinating to hear of the property ownership of the Catholic church. I live in California and the church owns very much property and the minds of our immigrants.
I hope you stick around. It will be good to become acquainted.
FiveGunsWest,
Hi there… warmest greetings from Nairobi Kenya. And thanks for your warm compliments and insights. Now, something about good old Kenya: even the overhead sun is not warmer than the hearts of the natives.
That tells you just about all the friendliness of the people awaiting you the day you decide to visit.
So warmest welcome, friend, to Kenya. June/July is the best time to visit because of the 8th Wonder Of The World- Kenya’s wildebeests migration at the legendary Maasai Mara National Park.
Zu Casa, Mi casa…
FiveGunsWest,
Also, you can always get my email address from good old The Saker. I’d be more than very happy to hear from you. I guess you could just write to Andrei and request it from him.
Cheers…
The Papacy is the Oligarchy above the Oligarchy. Even the Rothschilds are nothing more or less than the hereditary “Guardians of the Vatican Treasury” retainers to them.
The globalist POS, that Pope?
Hello Nightvision,
Thanks a lot for your analysis, brilliant as always.
I have one doubt, if you have time to answer. In most places I can check in the internet US appears as the largest exporter of heavy weapons. And the second is Russia.
I from where come your numbers that Russia produces more than all NATO together?
Maybe in internet they are counting only a subset of military products?
Russia makes weapons for their own needs, not the military-industrial complex.
Largest exporter in dollar terms or in actual weapon system numbers/capability?
Given the ginormous price of US/NATO systems…
Dollars term, maybe that is the point.
If I am not mistaken combat planes from US tend to be 5 times more expensive than Russians equivalents
Yeah, with Pentagon wrenches and toilet seats alone costing upwards of a $1,000 per item, what would you expect?!
All that Congressional grift………leading up to the $3-6 TRILLION shortfall Rumsfeld suspiciously announced on September 10, 2001, the day before some other “false flag” event blocked/drowned out news of that for years!!!
Yeah, as the other person said below me, I wasn’t talking about export weapons for the global market, which Russia was neck and neck with the U.S. both near 30% mark for the past decade up until recently it seems the U.S. has went ahead by a bit, but this is exports of major expensive systems like F-35’s, etc, etc. But in terms of just pure armament production like shells, ammunition etc for its own domestic purposes or any purpose cumulatively. Just the sheer stores of armaments Russia still has from previous decades is the largest on the planet as for obvious reasons during the soviet times the USSR produced by far the largest amounts of ordnance of every type in the world. Russia has always had the biggest unending production lines of common ordnance and arms like shells, rounds, bombs, missiles etc. So that’s why it was quite comical to me that these modern young smoothbrained ‘analysts’ somehow think Russia would possibly run out of various armaments, that’s physically impossible. It’s the U.S. whose production lines are actually near-dead. It’s the U.S. that only has 1 tank production facility in the entire country and it almost went bankrupt and closed https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6831891/Trump-says-SAVED-army-tank-plant-Ohio-boasts-easy-hell-2020-debates.html
Excellent eporting, Nightvision
The other impressive detail about Russian capability was demonstrated in Syria.
Whereas the USA would put expensive and complex guidance systems onto every single missile…the Russian forces used air-drop ordinance of their older stocks but the target position was guided through a computer on the aircraft. Lower cost, less complexity…and amazingly accurate …and the older munition made by Russia always still seems to work even after years in storage… Win-Win all round
Sad how infantile these Wannabe Nazis are. They are stupid kids in grown mens bodies. Reenacting the Third Reich as if it’s a joke, talking about the opponent in terms of Mordor and Orcs.
And enough among them just like kids do not have any impulse control, only that they don’t steal toys but instead rape and pillage.
It probably pays to treat prisoners humanely. Not necessarily mollycoddle them but not knock them about, refrain from humiliating them, feed them properly etc. Then the next lot might see surrender in a bad situation as a viable option.
Do unto others…
It works very well in my experience.
Agreed….or at least do not make vídeos of mal treatment. What good can such vídeos do?
I was in the civil defence doing the time. I feel sad for all these 18-23 year old boys without experience of life, with hopes and dreams of a future trying to live up to a macho picture but brainwashed into believing and fighting for a lost cause, destroyed in heart and brain in an too early age.
I know Kadyrov knows this stuff and is able to see who is dirt, and who are just boys gone wild in need for a real man’s advice.
I agree with all the above commenters about treating PoW humanely, and especially now, when this is a war between good and evil, the Russians need too fight in a “good” way.
That said, I beleive that Zelensky cynically counts on his Ukrainan soldiers being fed and rested in Russia, at the expense of the Russians money, (and at the same time tying up Russian military personal, serving the PoW).
He will drag out any exchange until his soldiers are strong again to fight, while sending back to Russia soldiers that will be invalids for the rest of their life….
You can tell a lot about Russia by how it treats its enemies. You can tell a lot about America by how it treats its friends….
@Steel. Well put.
Excellent reading. Keep up the great work.
That Ukraine lies all the time we already knew and that the Pentagon’s (US Department of Defense) #1 objective is to withdraw money from American taxpayers we also knew. Ukraine is losing the war because there was no way to win it. In fact, he made some ambushes when Russia was still more focused on negotiations than on the war itself.
In the same way that Russia has no solution to win the Information War in the West. A complaint is often read here. Who ultimately owns all the soft power, big tech, social media and all the mainstream media in the West? Just look at the stories of genocide and war crimes much talked about in the West. There are unwinnable wars for both sides!
This clash of cultures – west vs east- was bound to happen. Putin was NATO was poised to make their move against DPR, LPR, and soon Crimea, so he did what he had to do,
but the west over-reaction with the sanctions, has precipitated the larger conflict so it is to happen here and now, so be it. Russia will will this one too. Victory on MSNBC, and CNN and Facebook and Google may lose it’s luster when this sucker gets rolling.
Question about the Moskva:
Is it possible that the sinking was caused by one of the underwater mines which broke their moorings with the anchor reported in the vicinity of Odessa at the beginning of the SMO which drifted in the black sea
I had this exact question on my mind a few days ago. I suspect the odds of that are astronomical. Basically, you would need to get close to the mine for an event to happen, and the sea is big.
Doubtful. Anchored mines are designed to de-fuse themselves if the mooring brakes. So, drifting mines are unlikely to detonate. However, if the mines were designed to drift on the surface and detonate on contact with an object, it would be a different matter. To deploy or use such mines are highly unlikely (and insane) imo and I have never heard of any such types being made or used. (I served as an EOD/UDT diver in a NATO country and have worked a lot with disposal of all sorts of munitions)
But since Ukraine no longer has any warships…
they have. a civvie ship captured early in the conflict has reportedly deployed over 200 of them…if you required, I have seen like 10 pix of these floating disasters…
The sea mines that Ukraine use is from early Soviet Union time, and they do not defuse when the moorings break. To use that kind of mines is a war crime, but of course the Ukraniums don’t care….
You are ignorant as the Japanese used such mines in WWII, and I worked in MCM/MW.
The military analysts on here are all experts on sea mines and know that they always break their moorings in the movies and need to be blown up with rifle fire by the hero.
My question is whether the Brits were involved in the Moskva debacle. On 4/9, Johnson meets with Ze; the fire is on 4/14; and Johnson, Truss (trusy in Russian, honest), and Wallace get banned from Russia on 4/16. Coincidence?
Nightvision, excellent Sitrep as usual. It seems that Russia is shaping the battlefield nicely in Donbas. Any idea on how many Ukrainian soldiers surrendered in the last 24 hours?
Great Update, Nightvision. I really believe things turned around for Russia, for the better, once that iconic video of the babushka waiving the Soviet Flag appeared and her standing up to the Ukrops. everything just changed then.
Where’s that video?
Here you go:
https://youtu.be/J9dy7tiHC9o
Thank you for Sitrep. Start looks good. I worry about three or four new Mariupols in Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Lisichansk…But hopefully, morale has worsened across the board. Did anybody hear about recent death of Russian general, though? There was news on Telegram.
Yes but I think that general died weeks ago but the formal funeral was just held now, or at least that was my rough understanding
All these cities are much smaller in population and urban spread than Mariupol. Mariupol is a city of 500,000 and the sprawl is vast.
I think only Kramtorsk is a population of 150,000 the other two are about 100,000.
I guess the concentration of Ukrops is probably high though and the cities being so close together make a difference.
A US infantry brigade in the field consumes 1,400 short tons daily.
A short ton is 2000 lbs, so that is 2,800,000 lbs. A US Brigade is 5,000 soldiers. so 2,800,000/5000 is 560 lbs per soldier per day. No wonder they can’t fight, they’re to busy eating.
Top (3) items consumed by weight are
1) Fuel
2) Batteries ( all those nifty gizmos use batteries)
3) Ammo
And that’s just the ice cream!
And rainbow flags.
The best piece of news from this sitrep is the low morale of the AFU. Because that implies low morale of Ukrainian people and that implies their will to fight is diminishing.
In my experience as an armchair Internet person, the will to fight is the key determining factor of a war. If it dissapears, other factors don’t matter. But if it holds, the combatant really needs to be dismembered for the war to end.
They have been living in Nazi-nightmare for the last eight years+-
I think all they want is a respite.
The ones who’ll provide it – will have their support.
Why low morale? Maybe they don’t want to fight for Elenskyy as before the SMO less than 28% supported him, he got elected because he promised peace in Donbass and look what he is doing!
Maybe the people were forced to go fighting, enroll, as otherwise were killed but with the first chanche they got they surrendered.
Many disagree with this war, For sure many know a lot of things about what Azov does and nationalists so why fighting?
I’ve a question Nightvision probably a stupid one. Do you think that, with the if you like ‘mass surrenders” you report, someone very senior in the UAF should now consider full surrender to the RF Army? Is this even possible? Also since your reports are comprehensive and in plain English, if the RF win the battle of Donbass which looks likely, will that lead to a Ukranian Govt capitulation? Or will the RF continue to take all of the Ukraine given the insanity of the Western Leaders at the present time? Thank u for taking the time and trouble to write these reports I have learned so much about warfare and have becone very intetested in the RF-s military strategies! God Bless President Putin and the RF.
Never underestimate the insanity of western leaders in general and our peculiar Rainbow President Rectal Probe, who is willing to fight the Russians to the LAST UKRAINIAN: as Zelenskyy will hopefully find out soon, this includes him. Right now the Biden administration is searching desperately for a crisis to take attention off our Mexican border, the soaring crime rate, galloping inflation, the drumbeat of his sun Hunter, and irrelevancy of the Jan 6 investigation.
You do not understand what the news media in Amerika is all about these days. CNN spends more time with videos of transexual athletes than Ukraine coverage. American citizens already can see Zelenskyy and the Pentagon trying to set up a “Black sea gulf of Tonkin incident” (you know, the last one led to 65,000 American deaths). You can feel Fauci pining for a “shanghai solution” in America’s big cities. Whatever happened to how the “sanctions” were supposed to crush the Ruble?
LAst of all, Biden is frustrated because Republicans have visited Ukraine and he has not. Don’t kid yourselves, SAKERS readers…it would have been nothing but a fabricated assassination attempt, in which (MORE) “valiant Ukrainian patriots” sacirficed their lives to prevent.
Lets hope Putin stops messing around, capturing and holding the entire Black Sea border, and making Ukraine into just another landlocked 3rd world shithole it was always destined to be.
I heard this morning that the Biden admin folded on oil and gas leases, and will now start renewing them again. The green insanity took a major hit… perhaps due to political convenience, sure, but the damage to the Democrats (and the Establishment wing of the GOP, who coddles them) is piling up.
In addition, German unions and industrial leaders are opposed to restrictions on Russian gas, since it would cripple their economy, thanks to the greenwhackos who have closed coal, oil, natural gas and nuclear sources of energy. Talk about hoist on their own petard! When will the German’s realize they were hoodwinked into giving up their Deutschmark?
As I often say to my libtard opponents, this is an EXHILIRATING time to be an American: watching the destruction of the post WWII nanny state; discovering the joys of federalism; the emergence of a 21st century Monroe doctrine (imagine that: no hegemon!). We already have senators pining for US troops in Ukraine! But Americans will not allow a Black Sea false flag (definitely already in the planning stages) turn into second Gulf of Tonkin incident.
A very good question. It seems to me the Ukrainian military have no choice but to surrender.
To me it looks like no external damage, just much oily smoke staining near every spot smoke could escape.
Looks like engine fire, then ammunition detonation. Or maybe a mine. But an engine fire on a 50-year old ship would not be a surprise.
That’s what it looks like to me as well. The other ships I posted were hit by 1 missile, Ukraine claims it was 2 Exocet-sized Neptunes which would have opened up the Hull massively and shown major damage but this just all looks like black smog stains on the hull along the ports and torpedo tube holes. I don’t see any indication of massive hull rupture outwards. Remember these missiles typically are timed to first pierce the hull then explode a second later INSIDE so the blast goes “outward” which you can clearly see in the photos of USS Stark where the Hull fragments rupture outward. But there is nothing like this, and certainly not the damage of 2 such missiles as Ukraine claims.
I have no clue what else it could be. Sabotage, free-floating mines, error/negligence, hard to say.
My personal bet is secret Ukrainian/U.S. underwater drone simply because the timing of the incident certainly favors a Ukrainian explanation, but just not in the form of missiles. I think Ukraine spent a month secretly planning/tracking the ship with the aid of U.S. and they fitted some form of underwater electric drone (electric, very slow traveling so it can’t be detected by sound, etc) that likely blew the ship from below. That’s my most probable explanation that maybe even edges out sabotage for likelihood simply due to the timing.
Even Iran just announced a couple weeks ago the production of such underwater drones http://www.hisutton.com/Iran-IRGC-Weaponized-UUV.html
The difference between this “drone” and torpedo is like I said, it moves extremely slowly which means it’s basically undetectable. This is actually how the Russian ‘Poseidon’ nuclear drone also functions (though it has several modes and can speed up fast in different phases of traversal)
These drones sound like currently unstoppable (not trackable) weapons? Hell, that, if true, could put in danger entire Black Sea fleet….
Hard to say, they should still in theory be somewhat trackable via active sonar. Passive sonar is when you just listen to the sounds something is making and a small drone could be theoretically undetectable if it’s moving silently/slow enough to barely make a sound. But active sonar can be used which pings objects and returns frequencies like basically underwater radar even if an object is moving super slow or stationary, the active sonar should still see it the same as ‘radar’ would see an object in the sky. So depending how small the drone is active should still see it but I’m not sure how widely active sonar is used vs. passive, it all depends on how ‘heightened’ the state of the ship is in terms of elevated combat levels and such
I don’t think that NATO or Ukraine planned out any attack on the Mockba. If you remember a report of two Ukranian serviceman that tried to sink a Oligarch yacht which was reported on the western outlets. This gave impetus to someone on that ship for sabotage. The reaction of the Pentagon which was more surprising than anything else also points to this. Further on the CNN interview with Zelensky he gave a veiled response.
The Moskva surely had active sonar and there was no reason not to use it given that the ship’s position was known to the enemy anyway.
Some crew member with family ties to the Ukraine might have carried out internal sabotage – but
not out of conviction. It might have had to do more with him having received threats against family members in the Ukraine. That’s how the Ukrainians typically operate. Think of all the Ukrainians pilots who are sent on what are effectively suicide missions. Many if not all of them must be acting under threats against their families.
Hi Nightvision.
Thanks very much for your analyses and thoughts, they’re astute & explain so much.
Also your tireless efforts.
I was very curious to know whether the Moskva damage was land or seaward side and am glad that’s settled.
Regarding the underwater drone possibility, from the outset I thought something as yet unknown, but along these lines, was quite probable, considering the aerial activity monitoring the Moskva from behind NATO lines at the time.
The two surveillance aircraft came from bases in UK and Italy and were there for a co-ordinated purpose, they did not hang around elsewhere & both departed after the incident.
Currently a marine traffic tracker identifies a ‘tug and special craft’ as being close to the location given in the map above.
https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:30.0/centery:45.7/zoom:8
It’s certain the Russian Command will leave no avenue unexplored to get the complete picture, however, if they conclude that it was indeed UK / US direct involvement, they may opt to keep that quiet & respond in their own way.
Nightvision, Do you think it’s possible that Russia will use electromagnetic weapons in the east Ukraine cauldron and if so what type?
I’ve read that alec baldwin ( I won’t capitalize his name) says he wants to go to Ukraine and help kill Russians. Heck, give him an automatic weapon and he might kill hundreds of Ukrainians and mercenaries.
Well he recently shot dead his cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins and wounded his director Joel Souza on his film set with a prop gun.
I suppose with the real deal he could get off a few rounds before his brain tissue met metal.
Halyna Hutchens was Ukrainian by birth, so there’s that.
You sure it’s not Sean Penn? Either way both talentless scumbags…
It was Sean Penn and I believe nikov heard rumors that were actually originated from the parody (impersonation of Baldwin) by ©Jimmy Dore see https://youtu.be/vCKQyxzrr8g
I don’t read about these hollywood scumbags in depth. I just saw that headline. I believe sean penn is calling for nukes. I hope there are a few nukes targeted on that hollywood cesspool. They’ve been spouting hate for Russia for years. It’s hard to believe (but maybe not) that there was an actual hollywood lovefest with Russia at one time.
Well, now that he’s killed somebody he thinks he’s an expert.
Will he bring a film-crew?
Anne Brit: Yes, he’ll bring a film crew. But he won’t bring them back.
The United States and collective west has set about for the last 30 years destroying it’s own industry and domestic populations, ironically Russia’s war in Ukraine will be a net benefit to the people of Western Europe and North America because it will catalyse the collapse of many a rotting institution, and, if Russia and China do succeed in their joint venture to completely change global finance, our corrupt governments will not only cease being able to steal our wealth by inflation but will stop being completely bought off by plutocrats who have a whole planet to rob.
This is a terrible state of affairs for Western Europeans and North Americans and is the reason why the Global American Empire does not have a snowball’s chance in hell of changing the tide of the war in Ukraine.
“Pentagon officials say that Kyiv…”
Victory Day is approaching. One wonders whether the Arlington Cemetery will be decorated with Swastika this year. Same question about the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. Judging by Pentagon’s doings and speeches, the US Army could certainly consider the renovations.
The US (under a heavy Zionist influence) went full steam ahead for the Nazification of Ukraine. From the US Congress worldview, Ukrainian Nazis are “good Nazis” because they help the ZUSA (the Zionzied States of America) to fight the “bad Russians.”
The main 52 Jewish American organizations not only support the Nazification of Ukraine (see the ADL proclamations) but are eager to do various events for “Ukrainian refugees.” Not such events were conducted for Syrian and Libyan refugees, the victims of the Yinon Oded Plan for Eretz Israel.
Some internet sites use a new definition for Banderites and their leader Mr. Ze – the Zio-Nazi – and deservedly so.
Historically the Khazars (the Israelis) have been a minority of in Ukraine. Being a minority means the enemy is the majority, the Ukranians
Having studied the history of The Third Reich, the Ukrainians do not rate very well as National Socialists. No German National Socialist would be caught dead committing murder against his or her own people. And the problems with the non-German ethnics in Germany were rather small when compared to the reign of terror the Ukrainian nutters have brought to the Donbas…
”the Moskva” accident reminds of me ”USS Liberty” One can guess who could have at least been part of it, since they have expertise.
as well, they’ve experience in submerged drones.
Legacy USSR and Russian field artillery is mostly 152mm caliber. With the exception of one newer system, Ukrainian field artillery is legacy Soviet equipment. US and NATO field artillery is mostly 155mm. A 155 diameter projectile isn’t going to fit in a 152mm artillery tube. Poland and some of the other former Warsaw Pact countries MIGHT still have legacy Soviet artillery and ammunition stocks. However; they don’t have large inventories.
I agree that the damage to the Moskva doesn’t seem consistent with multiple missile strikes. Internal fire is far more plausible. Barring an explosion, it should not sink. I would not condemn Russia for overstating the damage and alleged sinking to achieve a tactical advantage. Maybe the ship sank in drydock?
The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in 1942. Most of the battleships that were sunk returned to service in a few months or years.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attack_on_Pearl_Harbor
December 7, 1941 (not 1942). My childhood friend’s father successfully sailed a destroyer out of Pearl Harbor when they were under attack. The captain was offshore and tried to board the ship, but my friend’s dad would not let his skiff approach, lest is slow down the ship’s exit from the harbor.
Very interesting. The movie “In Harm’s Way” included that in early scenes, where the captain, chasing, was left behind. The right choice!
elmer…they bombed in the OCT/1941…only Russian DEPT.of Defence know exactly what happen…and it will be classified forever…it should be end to endless speculation…..it get really tiresome…
Excellent video (1 of 3) on Pearl Harbor salvage operations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bB-V9cCSC8o
Aiden Aslin says civilians would be hogtied and then taken down into a special room in the bunker and never seen nor heard from again. He says anyone who wandered onto the territory, even if they were lost people would be treated this way.
https://t.me/voenkorKotenok/34826
“They were tied hand and foot, and then taken away to be shot” — British mercenary Aslin spoke about the mass executions of peaceful Mariupol civilians by the Nazis “Azov”
* He admitted that he personally saw how innocent citizens were literally caught on the streets.
According to the British mercenary, someone was taken prisoner simply because the person got lost. But mostly “they were detained because of alleged ties with the Russians.” After that, they were taken to the Nazi base at the Azovstal plant and then shot in a remote bunker.
“I saw how the soldiers of the reconnaissance group of the battalion tied civilians hand and foot and blindfolded them. They were taken to the bunker … After that, I never saw them again , ”Aislin said.
I think it more than reasonable to suspect that Aslin was relating his own actions in the third person.
The things that go on in the Ukraine are probably mind boggling to the point people would not believe it. These poor civilians could have been used in the supposed biolab below the Avovstal plant for experiments. Organ harvesting is another business in the Ukraine. There is info that has come out that Ukraine is in the baby selling business where babies are sold to Europe. God knows what is going on.
Aslin and the other are spies, this is why Russia showed them and this is why they ask Boris for assistance :)
Aslin was ”by mistake” arrested in regard with his participation in some middle east ops. ha ha when probably they realised they arrested their own spy, cleared him :)
Both of them all kind of missions before Ukraine and now here they are both in azovstal, strategic point, as for what is there inside and we can only speculate, but something big there is.
Both double citisenship, both married with Ukrainian women, both prvious missions in different shady places, both in azovstal area, also wofe of one is in ngo, the spy/agents factories in any country. spies, spies they are , for uk, this is why they are paraded
Moskva went out with her boots on so to speak, as a warship under fire, in wartime, likely resting in 1,000+ fathoms, hasn’t lost her dignity, and she holds a place in history, she’s in good company…Not wasting away, waiting for the salvors torch…
I’d be curious if a IDF Dolphin class Submarine is still lurking in the Black Sea, or managed passage through the Bosphorus, with or without Turkish authorization …They almost sank USS Cole back in Oct 2000, with a modified Popeye, she wasn’t hit by an exploding dinghy…No link, and you don’t have to take my word for it…Would they? Of course they would, without hesitation, or remorse…They did 9/11…
Z for Victory!
… and the USS Liberty. Not even a ‘conspiracy theory’. A fact.
“If forced to go to war in Eastern Europe or the Western Pacific, Washington would spend down its stockpiles of missiles, precision-guided munitions and other critical capabilities in days or weeks. It would probably suffer severe losses of tanks, planes, ships and other assets that are sophisticated, costly and hard to replace“
This is the Western Sprachregelung for “We have to spend bazillions for the army”.
The Sprachregelung for “We have to spend bazillions and a huge amount of our workforce for our armament producers” is included.
It always sounded like that – Yugoslavia wars, Iraq wars, Libya, Syria… always possibly short of material for the crimes.
It’s highly unlikely that there are civilians inside Azovstal other than hostages and possibly some brainwashed individuals. This lie by Azov is cowardly to say the least.
If my understanding us correct the RF army has an intercept on communications there and can identify languages and who essentially is there. So yes one big fat lie by Azov just to be abke to get out of there alive. The way they operate I’m thinking they would have killed those civilians even if they were in there.
The US doesn’t have the work force for a lot of this and there is a huge upsurge in people that won’t work for the war industry anyway.
http://www.stationgossip.com/2022/04/violent-riots-erupt-in-sweden-after.html
This is a nation that wants to join NATO. Do you see these citizens of this country willing to fight and die for Sweden? Do you see them putting up with hard economic times to spite Russia?
Europe is deluded if it thinks that it’s “newer” citizens will go to war for it, particularly in England and France and Germany, they owe no loyalty or allegiance to the nation and are more likely to rise into civil disorder than fight for the state.
These nations are rotten inside and will be lucky to stand at all without any war, just a push of recession and some ethnic fuel.
I think many will leave Sweden if the opportunity arose.
Even those of Baltic origin.
The future lies elsewhere.
Let’s not fall into the old trap.
Western, white, between 18-30, will be expected to be the frontline troops. Can they not see this? Can anyone here picture those privileged kids getting into the trenches and the streets with the Chechens? They may be smart in some ways but to win wars you need a mentally and physically fit population, willing to follow orders and take extreme hardship and ultimately, they need to be killers, cold, methodical, efficient, killers of men.
I suspect that the mass surrenders that are here and on the way are made up of younger reservists who have no interest in fighting and dying for their country. Who could blame them? They are probably well aware that the top politicians and money men don’t care what happens to them.
If you are in Sweden, I hope you are well and safe and I wish you well.
If Sweden disintegrate, maybe Jamtland will have a refrendum?
I used to house a Swedish separatist, after they joined the EU.

I never knew of that, it is very interesting, thank you.
Regionalization could happen in many countries as the natural fault lines split.
+1 Let’s reclaim Greenland while we’re at it :D
A few days ago, one of Sweden’s most successful actors, Alexander Skarsgård (son to his famous father Stellan Skarsgård), gave an interview to the most influential (and largest “liberal”) newspaper DN.
https://www.dn.se/kultur/alexander-skarsgard-i-di-intervju-svenska-medier-varit-lite-av-en-besvikelse-de-senaste-veckorna/
On the direct question whether he would be prepared to die for Sweden, the answer was NO.
And he is possibly the only one of the public personalities in Sweden that dared to question the cultural racism against anything and everything Russian.
By the way, I’m seriously considering emigrating to some less Russophobic (read at least neutral) country.
It has become unbearable, even though it hasn’t been normal before.
All political planned down in details. Paid US mercenaries load refugees over the mediterranea.
Why do Sweden allow organised Nazi radicals to burn Qurans dipped in pig blood in public in demonstrations in Swedish cities?
Havent Europe done enough bombing moslem countries into the stoneage causing millions of refugees?
Remember Lenin travelled without papers through Europe and Germany free of charge on first class train and service into Russia.
Everything that looks too stupid is careful planned choreography from the hidden hand.
Sweden’s politicians are preparing its citizens for NATO membership.
Seems like referendum won’t be used.
You should be able to read between the lines.
Depletion of ukro weapons stocks + difficulties for the west to resupply weapons + increased activity of Russian softening forces (aviation, artillery and the like) + faster advances today in the field, as it seems currently.
It seems that some main ingredients for a succesful Phase II of the conflict are in order. Glad to see that the RF is keeping the good work.
Sweep Ukraine from the map
Should Russia launch a devastating attack on Ukraine, to reduce the country to ashes and decapitate its government?
Intimidated by this terrifying display of military might, would NATO cease its attacks on Russia?
Of course not!
NATO, and almost all European countries, has no will of its own. They are mere US satellites, and they fulfill the US agenda.
Installing chaos in Ukraine is part of this agenda. As before, chaos had already settled in Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria…
To achieve its goal of destroying Russia, the US does not care about the annihilation of Ukraine. Nor from Eastern European countries. And not even from Germany.
It would be great if this war could be ended easily and quickly. It won’t be like that.
On top of that, the civil war in Ukraine (sponsored by the US to target Russia) has been going on since 2014.
Even more importantly, Russia’s strategic objectives are not limited to defeating Ukraine. Even because, this defeat is already given.
Russia needs to beat the US. To this end, the total destruction of Ukraine is counterproductive.
On the contrary, Russia will drag the US into Ukraine’s far-reaching steppes. And in them the Imperium will descend to its grave.
Although, in his final agony, he will try to drag us along with him to hell.
PS:
A terrifying truth cannot be forgotten.
For the European oligarchy, Russians are not Europeans. Even seeming to be.
And by not being “Europeans” it must be understood: they are not human.
Nazism lasted. Camouflaged and metamorphosed. Ukraine is glaring proof of this.
👉🏼 “Russians are not Europeans”: https://t.me/rtnews/23579?single
The Ukraine is a geographical term, so it would leave big hole in the map.
According to the democratic values that the West itself says it defends, it could never defend Ukraine after the 2014 coup d’état in which the US and EU chose as President of Ukraine, the corrupt Poroshenko who was caught in a public speech saying how to exterminate Ukrainians Russian speakers in the Donbass, keeping children trapped in cellars so they can’t go to school. I really hope that Russia arrests Poroshenko and puts him inside the pipeline that transports gas to Germany.
And about the genocide perpetrated by Russia in Ukraine that Biden talks about, which is just the worst of all war crimes, the US has no morals to talk about war crimes because it doesn’t even recognize the International Criminal Court in Hague and even now threatened to destroy it. American soldiers are the only soldiers in the world who can never be tried for war crimes. And only in Iraq did the US kill more children than in Hiroshima! Hypocrites!

When the trendy kids refer to the Orks, who do they think will protect them? It’s strange that they can portray the Russians as such yet not understand that the should be afraid of having one day to face an Ork on the battlefield and then where is your great wit? Will you kill him with your keyboard?
If they truly believe that Russians don’t value life they why are they not afraid?
Will the Arabs, Africans, Turks, Albanians, South Americans, etc, fight for Germany?
Will the men who ran away from Ukraine, leaving their brothers to die, while they get drunk and mug people in European cities?
I know how the West will win, they will deploy their ultimate weapon and none shall stand before it’s might!

Empire of Lies runs into problems when it is forced to FACE the TRUTH.
I’m no military analyst, but I’ve been watching US foreign policy for a long time. It’s all projection. If the US accuses someone of doing something, it’s because that’s what we’re doing. This conflict has been no different. All the troubles that US media sources have said Russia’s having are exactly the troubles the US had in 2003 (except the US counted on the English to be helpful at Basra and the Brits can’t fight their way out of a paper bag).
The US was relatively easy to surprise because it cannot imagine anyone fighting a war any way other than how the US fights them. Obviously Russia will just level cities with strategic bombers and the world will be disgusted! (They thought.) But Russia didn’t. Russia hasn’t done anything the way the US expected. I’ve been thinking more and more that Russia’s fine with things going “slow”, it’s effectively disarming Eastern European NATOstan and barely has to leave home.
Also agree that there’s no way the US can rearm Europe or itself in any reasonable time. You know how hard it is to find a skilled welder in this country? Machinists? Yeah right. All the careful preparations for a bear trap and then Biden went and stepped into himself.
“‘It’s all projection. If the US accuses someone of doing something, it’s because that’s what we’re doing. ”
That’s how I shut up my friends down at the moment.
I’m glad they bring it up – it means they have to hear me out- at least one time.
Not just the military, but literarily everyone on team A, no matter the profession, class or country. I’ve been telling people “You’re a glozi – a global socialist. Everything a glozi says is an inversion of reality. That’s alright though: All i need to do is turn every word you said into its opposite meaning, and the resulting translation will be close to the truth.”
I’ve gotten so used to this, it’s just like a second language to me. For example, everytime some politician says something, i instinctively translate every statement into the polar opposite. Unfortunally this ability has also given me anger issues, so now i have to ration my exposure to the shitheads in power.
perfectly stated, lex. the psychopaths cannot stop lying & everything they accuse others of is an exact copy of their play by play. thank you nightvision, your sitrep has demonstrated that the russian strategy to wait outside kiev was deliberate & using biden’s expectation against him, simply allowing the boomerang to return & karma to unfold.
My understanding is that NATO and RF use different calliber shells and they are not interchangeable. Is that right? Presumably the Ukrainian army is using Russian made stuff requiring Russian calliber shells so NATO may have trouble sourcing the right calliber shells to send into Ukraine.
Vesti just brought the wonderful news from Mariupol, that a mobile pizza bakery was captured from the Azov Nazis and is now being used to bake Easter pastry for the Mariupol citizens:
“Meanwhile, in the already almost completely denazified Mariupol, the restoration of houses in the liberated areas began. On the streets of the city, rubble is being cleared and infrastructure is being restored. And in neighboring Novoazovsk, Russian servicemen have deployed a field bakery capable of producing 8 tons of finished products per day. And due to the captured equipment, the capacity of the bakery was increased by another 50%.
“We got a trophy from the Azov base, from Mariupol. A wonderful row that bakes pizzas, cakes and pies. I think we will connect it for Easter. Because it is very energy-intensive. That is, we will start a transformer and bake by Easter Easter cakes and pies,” the serviceman shares his plans.
Everything that is baked here is delivered by humanitarian columns to the residents of Mariupol. Hot fresh bread is distributed right on the street from trucks. And so several times a day. Huge queues of hundreds of local residents line up behind him.”
This is a really uplifting story. It’s full of hope, human decency and finding genuine good common human decency in a war situation.
Flatbreads, man, easy to fix, tasty, and you can slap anything on them from veggies to rat.
Thank you, it’s always informative to read your reporting.
As to the Moskva, there is clearly too much speculation and not enough information. Pretty much everything from the Ukie side is disinformation so best to ignore it and move on. Eventually the truth will be revealed. Bottom line, war is hell, stuff gets destroyed on purpose and by accident.
As to “the massive arming campaign for Ukraine is depleting the stocks of all participating NATO countries”: this is a major part of the program. All those weapons will have to be replaced with shiny new (expensive!) US armaments.
Backorders are good! Look for massive increases in US military spending – this is the only growth sector in the US economy.
“none of those black marks on the ship appear to be from any missile hits” – actually the back one really could be. The ship is listing DRAMATICALLY. The top of the darker gray pain (which is level with the lower deck) should be about 5 meters above the water, but it is only 1-1.5 m above water (the entire “Moskva” name painted on the side is below water, and the top of that lettering should be about 3.5m above water). Also, the large hole (in the smaller red circle) is centered just above the lower deck (i.e. the top of the darker gray paint), and the torpedo holes are all about 0.5-1 m below that line. So, if it is true that the Neptune would hit the ship at 15 ft (5 m) up from the water, that’s exactly where it would hit.
The damage looks like a sizable round hole without any external blast damage. That would seem to support a missile entering the ship but failing to detonate, though there would still have been fuel expelled, which started a fire and some explosions. If you look at the hull between the two red circles, you can clearly see where the hull was ripped from the upper deck to the water line (and probably below), indicating a massive explosion inside the hull, perhaps one of the torpedoes.
“they admitted they were detected because they were “distracting the Moskva” radar operators according to the official story” – how can that possible be an “admission”, they are guessing as much as anyone else, and that is their guess. Since the TB2s have video cameras, as noted in the article, if there were TB2s harassing the Moskva, there should be video of that. It may well be that Ukraine has this video, but as it has not been released, my guess is the TB2 part of the story is not true. That does not make the Neptune missile part not true – the TB2 component COULD Be deliberate disinformation to hide the “vulnerability” of the cruiser to a missile attack.
“why would any other part be believable” – that’s a red herring, in military affairs often disinformation is included. In any event the claims should only be believed based on evidence. The evidence does seem to support a missile strike but not the TB2 harassment.
Phase 2, Day 1.
We certainly hope this trend continues, these men, young and old, are parents, brothers, sons, daughters, and have the right to choose a future alive. Their surrendering confirms the die hard scum, the nazis, are the ones forcing others to die as cannon fodder for their satanic ideology.
So far, so good, the advances have gone without a glitch, a few skirmishes here and there, nothing really serious, Ukraine troops either surrender or withdrew to fight another day. Clearly their morale is low, no appetite to die for a corrupt, puppet ruling class, using the suffering people of Ukraine to be killed in defense of a project that has nothing to do with them, their families, their lives, their future.
A very interesting, unconfirmed version, of what happened to the Moskva. The final word will come at some point, once a narrative from the sailors, first hand witnesses, is gather into a final report on the issue.
https://voenhronika.ru/publ/vojna_na_ukraine/ukrainskaja_armija_sdaetsja_tolpami_promezhutochnye_itogi_pervogo_dnja_nastuplenija_rossijskoj_armii_na_donbasse_20_video/60-1-0-11929
The Ukrainian army is surrendering IN DROVES! Interim results of the first day of the Russian army offensive in Donbas (22 videos)
The offensive in the Slavyansk direction is increasing, the roar of cannon and rocket artillery, the work of tanks, rifle battles, the roar of aviation. Prisoners are being brought to 95, 93, 25 brigades, today the 71st jaeger from Kremenchuk was added.
On the morning of April 18, the Russian Aerospace Forces attacked the 124th Logistics Center and a large shipment of foreign weapons that had arrived in Ukraine from the United States and European countries over the past six days.
Where else were hit today: Vasilkov (Kiev region), Popasnaya, Barvenkovo, Krasny Liman, Dnipro, Zelenoe Pole, Chervonaya Polyana. In total, almost 400 strikes on clusters of equipment and manpower, warehouses and checkpoints. As a result of the strike, up to 120 nationalists and nine pieces of military equipment were destroyed in the area of Novotoshkovsky.
Almost nothing is known about the progress of the Russian Armed Forces, there is an information vacuum. Exactly in the morning the Flint was taken, but otherwise as in the morning. Something big fell on the Sands (“anthill”) during the day, the roar was such that even Alexander Sladkov, who has seen many different wars, sees and hears this for the first time. A special anti-tank guided missile unit of the 95th Amphibious Assault Brigade was captured in the Kharkiv region and shot down two Russian Ka-52 helicopters.
The possibility of exchanging Bears for individuals in surrounded Mariupol is not even considered. The possibility of exchanging Medvedchuk for two captured British citizens may be considered, but in the case of a personal appeal on this issue by Boris Johnson.
In Avdiivka yesterday, a metalwork factory was hit, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces were repairing their equipment. According to some unconfirmed reports, four TU-160s launched missile strikes on military targets in Ukraine during the night.
There was an interesting, but so far unconfirmed version about the fate of the cruiser “Moscow”. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has not yet officially expressed itself.
The ship had a phased array locator with a 500 km illumination range, which allowed it to track the fact that the AFU aircraft took off from airfields in Romania and flew at low altitude to the Dnieper and Kharkiv. So 9 MiGs and APU Dryers were shot down. This is all calculated in NATO. First, the cruiser was hit with drones, smashed locators and antennas. According to unconfirmed information, the MRAU was struck by Kh-35 missiles from Su-24 tactical bombers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the RK-360MC Neptune coastal missile system. Target designation was provided by the NATO unmanned reconnaissance aircraft “Global Hawk”, a diversionary strike was carried out by the Bayraktar TB-2 UAV. As a result, on the night of April 13-14, 22 aircraft and coastal anti-ship missiles were launched at the cruiser Moskva. During the anti-missile battle, the crew of the cruiser managed to repel a missile strike, destroying 20 of the 22 attacking missiles, which to put it mildly shocked the enemy.

Is the ship in an area of the Black Sea that it could support submersibles to see the damage, if any, below the hull line?
looking the picture
-the possible “point of impact” is right were the ammo depot for two AK-630 is located, just behind the last pair for P-1000 launchers. deeper there in the hull are the engine spaces.
-through the smoke the P-500/1000 tubes are seen, apparently intact condition.
-the Osa launchers are retracted (maybe were retracted after battle to avoid damage).
-the main fire control radar for the Osa is pointing to stern, as in normal circumstances.
-all S-300F missile silos appear to be closed.
-I belive the smoked point to stern is an exit to a passage that goes along the ship, on each side, so it funneled the smoke from forward.
-there are two fire waterguns working (abandoned, pointing upwards), so at that time the ship still had some sort of power for running the pumps.
-all (it seems) rafts where used. cant see the second boat (on boat was located right at the damage section)
-the helicopter hangar is open.
-if at the time of the supposed attack the ship keep the same position as seen in that satellite image, with stern pointing to the coast (better view to the odessa coast for the early warning and the fire control radars and safer launch of the S-300F missiles and both Osa launcher, but only two AK-630 with full view) that side of the ship was to the east, to empty sea and Crimea (well not empty, there were other rus ships there). unless the ship maneuvered in the supposed fighting.
my takes
-a real hit, then fire, then more damage.
-some fire cookoff the 30mm ammo for the AK-630, or some ammo just cookoff itself
-an accidental ignition of one of the left and last to stern P-1000 without leaving the launcher, but without explosion of the warhead, set fire to the 30mm munition depot
but for a hit it must been a very bad luck, or bad tactic/handling, or lots of help for the launch party
Lone,
Phase 2 hasn’t begun. these are just the previews. Give it another week or even 2.
I am heartened by the surrender of some many Kiev military. These men will be able to return to their families and civilian life soon enough.
Remember that the Neptun is a sea-skimming missile that closes in at an altitude of three meters. With how badly we see the Moskva listing, it’s entirely probable that the holes made by the missiles are already under the waterline. Anyhow, I don’t doubt that it was a missile – although what kind it really was, who really fired it, and where it really came from are more interesting questions.
In the bigger picture, the Moskva sinking might finally be what was needed to make the Russians really understand what they’re up against and to get serious about this conflict. It’s not a “special military operation” against a creaky, corrupt government in Kiev and a small band of Nazi fanatics in its employ. This is a full-scale proxy war against NATO, which is handling logistics, intelligence, strategic planning, and basically every function short of actually pulling triggers on the battlefield.
If anything good were to come of this sinking, that would be it. Let’s hope.
The Anglo Saxons aren’t so keen on ground war and production, the Saxons capable of that have been castrated into virtue signaling poodles. I am betting they are searching for a ground army willing to do some dying for them right now the Ukies are being grinded into dust. The Poles will only last them so long, I am betting they will try to get the Ottomans to do some dying for them.
I see the British idiot was wearing a Azov shirt,he said he was with the Marines,as for exchanging them for the Ukrainian MP i would say forget it,those people need to pay not have a first class ticket back to the UK and celebrity status.
As a student of history I’ve noticed an interesting similarity to Stalin’s dilema in the 1920’s and Putin’s today. Many don’t know that Stalin debated the course to follow in modernizing the USSR and building their economy during much of the 1920’s. He at first favored the NEP idea. Much as Putin has followed up to now the more liberal capitalist economic position in Russia. But then when Stalin saw that would not allow for the massive restructuring needed to build the Soviet Union’s economy to world power levels. He ditched the NEP system and went to the planned economy.Which from the late 1920’s through until WW2 allowed the USSR to make massive, unheard of at the time industrial progress.
Today in Russia there is a great debate between those in the elite favoring the same liberal capitalist economy they have now. Which has allowed the West to cripple it time after time. Or to change to an economy more in line with the way China has become a world leader. Sort of a “capitalist/state planning economy with Russian characteristics”. On one side seat the oligarchs, liberal Atlanticists, those favoring the 1993 Yeltsin ideas. And on the other side, the new reformers,Glasnev and other economists that favor more state control. That would prevent the West having any more choke point influence. Russia’s future, just like the Soviet Union’s was at that similar time, will depend on which choice is made.
I agree there are some specific critical technological industries which simply will never be brought up to speed with the West (like microcomputing etc) via the natural liberalized capitalist method. It can only be swiftly brought up to speed via a very directly focused centrally planned and state sponsored campaign with exact funds, manpower etc being funneled to certain strategically chosen places etc.
The most important issue, is the control of your own currency. Norway used to have a mixed economy, before we went full Neo-everything.
It served us well, before we went on the petro-dollar, and got tied to the pole.
I studied economics during the late 2000′ , and had to go on the internet to get some answers.
Michael Hudson, Bill Black, Steve Keen are some of the best known of those who helped put a picture together.
The next thing is the man-power – as China is beginning to understand – people are not only the end, but also the mean to get there.
You make some great points and the same goes for adopting the Euro. If you remember the economic minister of Greece Varoufakis who had an economic plan to essentially declare bankruptcy and reintroduce the drachma to Greece, really the only viable solution. Prime Minister Tsipras scapegoated his minister and made a deal with Merkel and Germany. This will haunt Greece forever as they were close to breaking the shackles from the EU.
A crucial aspect is comprehensive unfolding of the Gold Rouble, a prototype for which has already been created.
Economic planning properly done, along the lines of Henry Carey’s 19th century “American System” will unleash creatives forces pent up for ages – probably surpassing anything prior, even those of the 20th century.
There are other similarities with the epochal processes going on exactly one hundred years ago following the civil war and Lenin’s death shortly after: the deep divisions among the soviets up to then solidly unified by the demands of war and the prestige of the leader. Once he was gone, the factions vied for position and the new leader, Stalin, did not have neither the prestige not the power to bring about unity. Hence his compromising with the NEP for several years until it became patently clear that it was preventing the necessary industrialization for the country’s survival against the usual Anglo enemies plus their grooming Hitler for an anti-soviet crusade. Without the firm but crucial steps to end NEP and finish off the Kulaks to speed up collectivization for kicking off industrialization, Russia could not have survived the coming onslaught.
Most people in the Hegemon’s NATO domain don’t know that, had Stalin not read the coming threats from the “West” and not prepared the defence of Russia, Hitler would have made an “European Union” of his own from the Urals to the Atlantic.
The key to the victory was Stalin’s removal of the “Atlanticists” from the Kremlin.
Forgot.
I forgot to add this map to the former post. It is good because it is simple, it shows the “Donbass arc” (sort of), and the advance (red arrows) of the Great Denazification Army.

The offensive of the Russian Armed Forces in the Donbas continues successfully. Yuri Podolyaka: Reports and maps-April 18 evening (4 videos)
Formally, the battle for the Donbass began on April 17, but today it really became clear – the big battle has started. In the area of Obed, there were battles for Novaya Dmitrovka, a village 8-10 kilometers from Barvenkovo. In the morning, Barvenkovo was hit by attacks on headquarters, clusters of equipment, and the headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Russian troops are advancing in several directions at once, and the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is frankly unable to cope with the pressure and is disorganized.
In the afternoon, the Ukrainian Armed Forces blew up a railway bridge near the village of Dronovka across the Seversky Donets-this is between the Estuary and Seversk. In the evening, local residents reported serious fighting in the Liman area-16 km northwest of Dronovka. Obviously, this is the second strike in the direction of Slavyansk from the north.
No less interesting events are taking place in the south of Donbass near Gulyai-Pole. There, the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine agreed in advance with the Russian command and surrendered before the battle.
In the photo in the morning, the liquidated special squad of the 95th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, hiding in the cemetery near Izyum – ATGM. They shot down two of our K-52s with missiles. Four of them were put down, and 4 more surrendered.

Lone Wolf… thanks for this update. I have been following the whole thing in the Russian language media (small news sites and blogs) an putting it on Google Earth, village by village and bridge by bridge. Your info corresponds very well with what I have rather unprofessionally put together.
Thanks for another great report, Nightvision!
Nightvision, you are such a gem. Your sitreps are so detailed, they are pieces of art !
Thank you Sir, keep them coming. God bless
Is it possible that same POW’s are shown in several different videos? What are the official figures of captured Ukie soldiers now?
Always find your sitreps very informative NIghtvision, thank you.
There are also a lot of daily sitrep reports, pictures, videos to be found on this site, As an English speaker, I open using Yandex browser and use autotranslate, seems to work really well for me.
It would indeed seem to be the beginning of Phase 2 and perhaps a realisation amongst many Ukrainian soldiers that they are being used as cannon fodder to pursue Anglo Saxon and Neo-Nazi ambitions of Russian elimination, hence the increase in laying down arms.

Is Ukraine terror-bombing Kharkov?
I had a closer look at the twitter account that reported on Gonzalo Lira’s forced disappearance. It looks like Ukraine is intentionally targeting residential areas of Kharkov in an effort to terrorize the population.
A single GRAD rocket is embedded in the pavement. Sarah Ashton-Cirillo says there were a total of three of them: “two today, one the other day.” (She mistakenly calls the GRAD a “Smerch”.) There does not seem to be any other damage, nor is there any military target nearby.
I do not think the GRAD rocket was fired by Russia. Grads are fired in salvos of 40 to 360 rockets at once. There can be no military rational for firing a single grad when there is an unlimited supply of them. The only purpose of a single grad can be to terrorize civilians and prevent them from moving around. A secondary purpose being to create fake propaganda for NATO sheeple.
I can’t believe this freak is responsible for GL’s arrest.
It makes me sick.
Details, please. I knew he was missing, first I have heard of his arrest
That is xir to you. Xe is trans.
Of course a tranny journo from Sin City would be gloating about his arrest and congratulating SBU.

Might be a good idea to avoid the Azov mob, dearie.
Read the creature’s twitter feed, it doesn’t stop gloating about it. Some other voices also say he was arrested:

In any case, it seems the Chilean MFA is now also trying to locate him. Let us keep hoping & praying.
Nazis were very into homosexuality like the ancient totalitarian Spartans. German WW2 soldiers were known to crossdress in their spare time.
I have collected sources on Gonzalo Lira’s disappearance on my Wiki.
From the “Intel Slava Z” telegram, timestamp 07:06, april 18th (you can find there also photos of the neo-nazi who admitted to the abduction and is threatening to decapitate Gonzalo):
“April 18 – From the Twitter account of a known Ukrainian neo-Nazi; among the first group of troops to enter Bucha.
Gonzalo Lira was most likely been taken by them. His whereabouts are unknown. No proof of life.
Share as much as possible”
A neo-nazi with the nickname “chile” abducted Gozalo Lira. The neo-nazi posted the following messsage on his twitter: “Thank Your Local Kraken”
I looked up “Kraken” in the urban dictionary:
“A creature which used to be a female.”
He is referring to transgender journalist Sarah Ashton-Cirillo who is reporting from Kharkiv, heshe snitched on Gonzalo and is responsible for his abduction!
Great write-up. If the Russian Cruiser was holed under the waterline, it was likely a mini-sub that could literally have been launched from anywhere on the Black Sea coast and navigated the dark waters with intel from a reconnaissance plane. Sabotage? always a possibility in what is a civil war with Western encouragement. Russia will learn lessons from this event. As for exploding ammunition, it could surely have also holed the ship under the waterline, or weakened the hull enough that it gradually gave way and the incoming water outraced the pumps.
If the Vatican arranges a transfer of Azovs and mercenaries out of the plant, that could work for Russia as it frees up troops and spares the factory. As long as it isn’t a delaying tactic. It would not wish to help Russia, which it recently consecrated. But saving thousands of Nazis is something the Vatican would find hard to resist.
Great read will share that!!!
From the photo in this article there does not seem to be torpedo ports in
the position at which the missiles are alleged to have struck the vessel:
https://www.navalnews.com/naval-news/2022/04/analysis-chain-of-negligence-caused-the-loss-of-the-moskva-cruiser/
Also, there is an hypothesis that US/Norwegian NSM missiles with a thermal imaging seeker
were used, which have a small warhead of 12kkg. The analysis is that these missiles are extemely
resistant to countermeasures and hard to detect.
Great discussion! Thx.
Still, most of all contributions are based on speculations, as neither NATO, nor Moscow is telling us what really happened with the Moskwa. NATO, because they know – and Moscow, because they still seem to get clear themselves what brought down their flagship. So they try buying time for being 100% sure.
Why? If they can prove NATO complicity in this stunt without any doubt they have to decide very thoroughly how to answer, probably without letting lose all dogs from hell.
As far as Ukraine is concerned, I don’t believe anything coming out of the Kiev regime’s mouth. The Neptune/Bayraktar fairytale is hard to believe, anyhow. Th Russian fleet had established a multidimensional surveillance/defense layer direction Odessa.
Another fact, I wonder nobody came up with yet – is the location of the Moskva:
clearly, near one of those 3 drilling-rigs, used for monitoring the whole sector with hydrophones and NEVA-BS radar, precisely the most westward one – BK-2 Odessa, appr. 66 km northeast from Snake Island. Integrated in the monitoring systems of the whole region! (CJSC Morskie Kompleksy i Sistemy, St.Petersburg) – Ships as well as low flying targets, even smaller echoes, like the head of a swimming person at 1km!
https://zn.ua/img/forall/u/0/-1/users/Aug2018/211250.jpg
https://www.unian.info/politics/10594875-kremlin-uses-for-e-warfare-drilling-rigs-seized-in-black-sea-osint-group.html
Complete, with all other warships in the region, watching mainly towards north (Odessa), there is a little chance that anything – not to speak of subsonic Neptunes or any Bayraktar drones could have slipped through this airial net.
So what could have happened? And, again – this is only speculation – but a solid one.
It could have been some kind of underwater drone, released either from some sneaky sub, or by a SBS team, coming from the WESTERN coast, with a stopover at Snake Island. From there 50kms are within the range of such special forces. That drone that somehow manages to drill itself through the hull from below and explodes its payload from inside. Kursk, anyone?
The other possibility could be an internal saboteur, anyway.
Most probably the Moskwa was there to monitor and halt hostile activities over/from Romania. Strategically the loss of the flagship with excellent air cover capabilities might not be such a problem right now, as it is PR-wise. Anyhow, if the NATO decides to participate openly in this conflict, the Moskwa could have been a problem at that very location.
We’ll see what will be Russia’s response, if at all. As for now both sides know what might be at stake and keep themselves covered. Let’s pray that the common sense prevails and Russia’s answer will be appropriate to show the world they are nobody’s fool, likewise not being interested in senseless provocations.
FS3
From the article you provided a link to:
“Moreover, the system of hydroacoustic control of the underwater situation was put on combat duty. Such systems are deployed and operate 61 km off Cape Tarkhankut at the facilities of the Golitsyn field, 72 km off the same cape at the Shtormovoye field, 66 km north-east off Zmiyiny Island at the Odessa field. The supplier is the same.
This is military technology designed to detect military submarines.”
In all these scenarios, Russian ISR was somehow negated. It might have been an accident
but why is the damage mainly to the forecastle directly above the area of the hull where there is
something that looks suspiciously like a breach?
I agree on top of which there’s S-400 stationed in Yevpatoria Crimea just east of there, much closer than the 450km++ range of the S-400 system. So these magical missiles would have had to not only strike a ship from the north on its portside which is facing east, but would have had to get past all sorts of highly advanced radars. Very unlikely.
I agree some sort of drone saboteur op is the only thing I can think of, or internal saboteur who blew up the engine room in a ingimasi attack, or simple “coincidental” mechanical failure/negligence/whatever
Based on the Russian reports of fire first, explosions followed, plus the excellent work that you have done identifying position, direction, and alert status I would suggest the following in order highest to lowest probability:
1. Electrical failure (40+ year old ship)(having had 20 to 30 year old vehicles, wiring does wear out in the damndest places)
2. Sabotage
3. Thermal limpit mine
4. Missile strike (I think this is virtually zero chance)
Thank you very much Nightvision.
I have no idea what sunk that ship. However, it had been around for more than 40 years and it seems just a little “too coincidental” to me that it decided at this precise time to “have an accident” and sink. You can bet that the Russian military knows exactly what happened…and with no guess work involved. And, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if an American or British military ship was next to “ have an accident” at this precise time.
More Putin judo–Trick NATO into depleting their ammo and weapons stores so when Russia moves on Brussels to capture NATO’s HQ and liberate Germany, NATO lacks the means to defend itself. Check out a map and see that it’s only a twenty hour drive from Minsk to Brussels. Russia again liberates Europe from Fascism as the EU and NATO are eliminated and genuine democracy is restored as all reinforcements from the Outlaw US Empire and its Canadian vassal get sunk. And Brussels is the only major city requiring capture.
I’m very serious here. How did you think Russia was going to remove NATO from those nations abutting it and rolling it back to 1997 so it could satisfy the security conditions it asserted last December, which were essentially the various OSCE Treaties broken by all NATO members. The only real way to solve the problem in the long run is to erase NATO, EU and remove Outlaw US Empire influence from Europe.
First of all, NATO HQ is in Mons, not Brussels. Secondly, the RF is fighting in UKR with air superiority. Rolling to Western Europe is a whole different war, there would be a lot more than NATO’s nearly non-existent land army to contend with. Western aviation could be involved in a big way, and could not be suppressed with air defence assets in the RF. Good old ‘Airstrip One’ could host a lot of US jet fighters and bombers, maybe not the most modern, but they have heaps of reliable F16s and F15s. As Stalin said, quantity has a quality of its own. The RF, even if using an airfield in Belarus, has a >3,000 km return to fight in Western Europe, would need refuelling over enemy territory. The US has a lot of B52s which can be refuelled in flight and launch cruise missiles from over the Atlantic. US satellite assets could help with targeting. Russian ground forces driving to Belgium would be absolutely pounded. And, there is no need. The EU is collapsing on her own and the US will follow.
Thanks for your reply. I certainly didn’t describe all the steps related to such an operation. It would be war-gamed first of course. The main point is dealing with the problem of erasing NATO from Russia’s borders, which it’s stated as one of its goals. It’s THE problem in which I have a hard time finding a solution. Also, Minsk to Brussels is 1600KM, not 3,000. And there’re other issues. But it was good to hear your objections.
Hi Karl,
This would be a reasonable plan before the Cancelation of Russia since Feb 24. The Empire has forced a change in plans as with Operation Z. European ruling classes and structures are thoroughly rancid and currently unreformable. Europe’s deranged and viscerally hateful conduct towards all things Russian showed them to be as brainwashed and suicidal as most UkroNazi army and population. They would wage wars of attrition as in Mariupol and the Ukraine, even if outgunned and already defeated. Consider the significance of Finland and Sweden joining NATO at this point! It wouldn’t be worth it and cost Russia too much, and for what?! The fatal satanic Hubris has to take its bitter course.
It is much more practical to take out the dangerous military capabilities with standoff missile work, shut off the energy flows (and the electricity for much of the nazification PR) and wall them off. Europe has chosen to return to their familiar Dark Ages. The survivors after a few generations can be reintroduced to fire, sold glass trinkets, maybe simple (non-electronic) gadgets, exorcised, and if interested, the rudiments of civilization.
Just don’t forget who invented most of that technology…
Unless you are on a one way mission and planning to parachute out of your Su-34, you want to land at a friendly airfield, so the operational radius of fighters is less than half the range. From Belarus to Belgian airspace and back is a >3,000 km return sortie. Plus, if you get in a dogfight with NATO jets, that burns a lot of fuel. Air refuelling over a battlefield would be a nightmare. The Russian Federation military doctrine is based on defence of the motherland. The RF’s ability to project force >1000 km outside their borders is quite limited. The Syrian operation would not have been possible without Khmeimim, a friendly defensible airfield by the Latakia seaport for resupply. Perhaps there will be a drive to Lvov, but Belgium is not feasible. It would me like Napoleon’s march on Moscow in reverse.
Though we shouldn’t forget that the Soviets/Russians did make it to past Berlin during WW2.And chased Napoleon back all the way to France and paraded down the streets of Paris. So where there is a will, there is a way.
The Soviets rolled into Berlin and beyond with Allied air superiority. (It helped that the Germans were out of petrol as well as planes and pilots.) Those chasing Napoleon didn’t have to worry about air power either. Ukraine started out with at least 3x the ground forces in Ukraine as Russia. But, they have been getting wiped out from the start, due to Russian air power. Going into Western Europe without friendly air cover would be driving into a shooting gallery. Russia’s newer planes are better than NATO’s, but that doesn’t matter. Home airfield/radar array/SAM advantage does matter. Having heaps of fighters available within hours across the Atlantic helps too. And the fighters would be in the air headed for Europe as soon as Russian armour entered Poland.
You believe in America’s air superiority and that is a fools paradise. The Russians will use thousands and thousands of high precision missiles, against all of Europe military bases.
Unless they decide to hide behind civilians, like they have trained their Ukrainian Nazis to do. USA/NATO does not have air superiority over Russia,as you would like to believe. That long held belief is nurtured by seeing them destroy defenceless countries all over the world. If you are so big and bad, why do you not destroy Iran, as you did in Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq and as you tried to do in Syria?
Iran can destroy the entire west oil supply and lose 40 million people in a fight against you and your kind. Russia has the best air force, planes and all the fuel and food they need. What does Europe have? LNG and Russia oil (re-cycled back) as coming from wherever, and what will happen to the tankers coming to re-supply them?
The Chinese not once but twice over a period, replying to America’s non- stop threats said the same thing to the latest American general: ” Meet us in the sky”! I remember well a video that showed an American f-16 behind a Russian jet and in seconds, the Russian jet was behind it.
The economic and propaganda war waged against Russia is all you have, and the economic war is already lost. The propaganda war is all you will win, and you will have to be content with that as inflation, food, gas, all other items skyrocket in price and shortages of everything to booth.
Europe is turning to Africa to get needed supplies probably with a plan to give them a little more, but most of Africa knows that Russia and China are they’re real friends, and the western rape of Africa is soon over.
P.S. Do not mistake the drowning of the Moskva as somehow you are winning. See the eventual taking of the Azovstal plant, and then witness the taking of the entire Donbass region. Then see missiles galore in kviv and Lvov, and start to tremble as to what comes next.

1,600 to Brussels is 3,200 return, as joy stated.
The U.S. has gutted its own armed forces with insane woke policies. And thousands of the higher-quality men have quit or been forced out due to the covid jab mandates.
Add to that all the accidents that have been wrecking U.S. equipment… in large part due to unqualified quota hires being put in charge of things because of woke feelings.
As a citizen of a NATO-country I can’t wait for it to happen.
Im 100% in on this one.
But after Brussel I propose to take the whole way to Lisbon and kick NATO finally out in the Atlantic Sea.
Dont leave things done half this time :-D.
Karlof1,
Although addressed to your comment, my reply is more directed at those who have replied to you and, as far as I could see, did not think of or address what I see as having been forgotten. As the subject is about removing the threat of NATO (which I fully agree with, btw) was it not just a few weeks ago that it was reported that the Kinzhal missile and its Mig-31 launch vehicle had been deployed to Kalinigrad. As I (neophyte in military matters) understand it, that aircraft has only to take to the air over that enclave and the NATO HQ is easily within its 2000km range, with no risks of return endurance or of potential pilot losses. Is this not a much cleaner option for the elimination of the NATO threat when it is appropriate?
Cheers, from the pancreas (next to the belly) of the beast

Correction.
I titled a former post, “Phase 2, Day 1,” however, reading Colonel Cassad I realized it is not correct since the Russian Ministry of Defense has not officially announced it. I agree with Colonel Cassad the military movements we have seen so far are a “preparation” for the offensive that is coming.
In military terms that would be more of a “reconnaissance in force” than the beginning of the offensive.
I stand corrected.
https://colonelcassad.livejournal.com/7567270.html
Phase 2. Preparation
1. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Zelensky’s gang said that the 2nd phase of the operation in the Donbass, which was announced by Shoigu at the end of March, had begun.
2. No one on the Russian side has officially announced anything yet.
3. Nevertheless, artillery training on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been increasing since this evening, and rocket attacks are being carried out on the territory of Ukraine. At 11 pm, Kiev, Nikolaev, Kharkiv, Slavyansk, etc., etc. are celebrated.
4. All this may indicate that the operational pause is ending. Today, a combat reconnaissance took place (Kremennaya is occupied), and rocket and artillery training began in the evening. Perhaps, an offensive operation with decisive goals can begin tomorrow. However, I would not be surprised if the artillery training continues tomorrow during the day.
In general, we are waiting.
The broadcast of military operations in Ukraine will continue as usual in Telegram – https://t.me/boris_rozhin (if you are interested, please subscribe). Apparently, the period when it was possible to take a little break is coming to an end.
————————————-
On another note, this reconnaissance in force has been very productive, the taking of the town of Kremennaya is a decisive move in the encirclement of the Ukrainian troops, exposing their rear to the Russian army.
https://m.vz.ru/politics/2022/4/19/1154358.html
“…Kremennaya is an 18,000 – strong locality located about 10 km from the city center. Rubezhnoye, is part of the Severodonetsk-Lisichansk agglomeration, which has recently been actively fought over between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the LPR troops. In Ukrainian publications, there were reports that after the capture of Kremennaya, the Russian army gets the opportunity to go to the rear of the Ukrainian troops, which are concentrated in the Rubizhne-Severodonetsk-Lysychansk triangle. According to the most conservative estimates, there are about 10 thousand Ukrainian military and National battalion fighters in this area. Reaching the rear of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Severodonetsk will complicate the situation of Ukrainian troops in this territory, as the prospect of encircling these forces looms…

Great results for a first day job.
We will continue to wait for the official announcement.

Yep, I agree. It’s looking like Phase 2 started today but I refuse/hesitate to officially call it that because it may still just be the opening ‘softening up’ period as there are still many units still not in theatre yet, and Mariupol hasn’t fully been secured etc etc. With that said, it may all turn out to be semantics because no one said Phase 2 will kick off with an official/exact fanfare and may in fact gradually ramp-up into full hostilities. But it’s really looking like it’s beginning at the moment, but I personally won’t call it until I really see it go full steam
Lavrov said this morning they have moved to Phase 2.
Great Work, Thanks
Fascinating report Nightvision and thanks again to you and Saker for compiling and presenting this information. Viewing Martyanov’s blog entry today, the scale of those surrendering is mind-blowing. Richard Medhurst also demonstrates from the video below just who is running the Ukrainian mercenaries. War by proxy for sure.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU7JpFlDxCw
Can’t point you to the source, but I do recall reading that none of the exocets fired during the Falklands actually exploded. All the damage was caused by the impact and fires started by the rocket motor. Horrific for the crew to deal with but HMS Coventry would have been broken in half had the warhead exploded.
“American stockpiles of key weapon…” And on top of that the Biden is presently engaged in releasing oil from the U.S. strategic oil reserve. At a rate of one million barrels a day, and the reserve having just some 727 million* barrels in it, the oil will only last for so long. At this rate the reserve will be wiped out in a couple years. I wonder what the U.S. forces will then run their military on in the event of getting involved in an active war.
p.s. I have yet to check out how much money the U.S. federal reserve is pumping into the U.S. economy and stock market to keep that all afloat. I’m afraid the U.S. is seriously tapped out in more ways than one. Sun Tzu would advise it is no time for a country in such a situation to get into a war.
I called the end of military funding a long time ago, no one heeded the advice, I think I got targeted, and I dont care so much about all the prankster recruits, but the money going into the making of weapons to be used by such critters, is going to cost the citizen in more ways than one, and the politician in more ways than two.
How come Russia’s leading the arms race with 10% of America’s budget?
Now, if America just buys Russian armaments and pays them twice the price, they’ll still save 80% on costs.
OK that’s tongue in cheek but if America let’s say were only 3 times more incompetent than their Russian counterparts, that’s still a 70% saving. Where’s all the money going? Is this the greatest 3 Card Monte Scheme ever, like find the Lady, when they’re all LGBTQ + Azov?
> Where’s all the money going?
that’s how USA does subsidies my friend
Regarding our tax dollars at work
A few decades back the company I worked for bid on a pentagon contract. We were to build a big machine. We didn’t really want the contract so we submitted a high price. To our surprise we won the contract. After a zillion change orders here’s how the deal went;,
$2 million ; price for a similar machine for a private sector customer
$8 million : our bid to Pentagon
$20 million : final cost to Pentagon
Depletion of the Strategic Reserve is a feature, not a bug, for the U.S. “Green New Deal.” The aim of the New Dealers is to drive fossil fuel prices higher, and to eliminate the fossil fuel buffer supply, which the Stragegic Reserve currently (diminishingly) provides.
Nightvisison, thanks for your brilliant reports and analyses, especially of the photographic evidence.
What annoyed me about this, was that I was chatting to a couple of my friends on Saturday night (…I am sort of left wing soft ..the kind of person who would and did vote for Jeremy Corbyn) My friends are at the other end of the Spectrum – extreme right wing. I didn’t know what had happened. He was trying to make a joke about it, as if he knew exactly what had happened and was happy about it. My other friend there who works for The British Civil Service (soon to retire) didn’t have a clue. He ain’t evil, but not too bright.
I have never done war, and never wanted to.
However, my Dad did. He got the Spitfires back in the air, under enemy fire to shoot the nazis down. If I had been born and 16 then, I would have been first to try and shoot the nazis down.
My family now live in a road, close to London airport as it was then. Several of our old homes are missing.
Bombed by the Luftwaffe, now rebuilt with modern shit.
I do not vote for any politicians now. They are all controlled by American neocons, who I seriously dislike..
I do not understand, how a bunch of such evil people -Trots/Bolshevics/Nazis etc – what label would you like- have managed to gain such a level of world control.
They have completely infiltrated all senior power levels of society in the USA and Europe, and smile and charm whilst the are doing it.
The current war in the Ukraine, is an American neocon attack on all of us in Europe.
They will fight to the last Ukrainian
CIA/MI6/Mossad – They are all the Same EVIL
No one voted for them, and they are so drunk on power (Satanism?)
They won’t be satiated until they have killed us all
And most of us (even us English) are quite normal.
We want a peaceful life, and don’t want to kill anyone.
We do of course want to get The Psychopaths on Trial – like Tony Blair on the charge of
War Crimes against Humanity.
But no one has got the courage or influence to do it.
After destroying Europe, they will bomb the sh1t out of the USA next.
I am on the side of Peace, and have no clear idea of what they are fighting about.
Much the same as Northern Ireland..
Why do you hate each other, especially when you all look the same?
Tony
Here’s a quite different analysis: https://intellinews.com/don-russia-s-black-sea-flagship-moskva-sunk-the-anatomy-of-a-missile-strike-241550/?source=russia
I have no idea who’s right (if either of you).
This analysis lacks most of the hard data that mine has which means his analysis is incomplete and can be discarded. The author doesn’t appear to be aware of the radar issue I pointed out, which is of critical importance, nor the orientation of the ship at its last anchor point which makes being struck on the portside scientifically and physically impossible. And then there’s the bizarre holes in the analysis that shows a deep ignorance of the topic, such as when he said the Moskva has 3 layers of defense and then goes on to mention 130mm guns (HUH? those are NOT for anti missile defense) and completely omits the most powerful of its defensive measures which are the Fort (Nato: Grumble) Naval S-300 missiles. How can someone possibly be taken seriously after omitting literally the single most powerful defensive weapon on the ship in order to make a case that the ship couldn’t defend itself? The tiny Gecko missiles he mentions are short range and the last line of defense, it’s the naval S-300’s that are by far the most potent of Moskva’s countermeasures and he doesn’t even know it has them? This “analyst” is a joke.
Let me try to steelman this:
Might the radar have been returned to the neutral position after the strikes but before the picture was taken? By the time the picture was taken, the fight was over, after all.
—
Overall, thanks for your great analysis! I check your site every day.
That highly detailed post, has got me worried, re a ridiculous conspiracy theory, that I almost instantly dismissed.
When things stop making sense, its hard to tell the difference between real and faked.
9/11 was most definitely real. My wife was looking after twin baby girls at time. Their grandmother was in one of the twin towers in New York, when it was hit. She phoned her daughter-in-law – the mother, then blank. We all thought she had died. No contact possible between London and New York for 36 hours – all comms saturated.
She was told to stay at her desk, but she ran for it…down the stairs, as the fireman were coming up..
Running, as if she was in a movie, and she kept on going now out of the twin tower…
She survived.
Her Grandkids – Twins will be 21 now. We lost contact like you do. I think they moved away from London to Dorset when the kids were about 7.
The London bombings were a completely different story. Sure there were extremely loud bangs, which caused a ripple effect amongst the birds, terrifiying them. which I witnessed 12 miles out (as the crow flies) and got incredibly worried, when I switched on the news..cos my wife that day had gone into London, close to where she used to work, which the BBC was also one of the bomb targets
I couldn’t contact her. They had shut all mobile communications off.
She was O.K.. but none of it made any sense “We were doing a simulation of a Terrorist Attack in London, but now it was Real so we had to instantly switch from a desktop simulation in real time – to real”
Come on – that is really taking the p1ss..
A bloke from Yorkshire did a documentary about it Anthony John Hill, and got arrested for it. He was in Wandsworth Jail at the same time as Julian Assange, but the jury found Anthony John Hill innocent, whilst Julian Assange is still in jail (so far as I know – now got a wife and family – 2 kids – conceived in jail?) seems unlikely, but I guess its possible.
“7/7 Ripple Effect – MuadDib – 1/7”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8u-rjHyKsxc&list=PLECC747C9527DD71B&index=1
Anthony John Hill, under the pseudonym ‘Muad’Dib’ created 7/7 Ripple Effect, a 57-minute film on the 7/7 bombings critical of the official narrative.[1]
7/7 Ripple Effect
“The film poses numerous questions about the events surrounding the attacks, and alleges alternative theories for who was behind them. The film implicates the Metropolitan Police and Tony Blair, and claims that the true perpetrators of the attacks were MI5 and/or Mossad, who tricked the four men into travelling to London with rucksacks, in order to provide CCTV footage later to be used as evidence in the investigation of the attacks. It alleges that the four bombers were actually murdered in Canary Wharf, and did not die as suicide bombers in the explosions on the three tube trains and one bus where the attacks took place. This thesis was taken up in the book on the London Bombings, Terror on the Tube. ”
I shouldn’t be worrying about such stuff now, but instead of things improving what with covid and now war in Ukraine – things are getting much worse.
I blame the same people who did 9/11.
American neocons. They are doing Europe now.
USA next, after they have impoverished us.
Not nice people, and us English get a bad press.
What are they on?
Why not just have a nice wife, couple of kids, and friends round for tea?

911 real?? An Arab in an Afghan cave shuts down the 1/2T$ US air defenses with his laptop, then had one of his 22 his L Pilots, this one couldn’t solo a Cessna172 with 600 logged hours, fly a hologram, at the impossible ground level speed of 580mph, right through a Twin Tower, and ‘crush’ it so well, that the remains could be removed overnight in 4 hours, instead of taking 4 years. That being.. Millions of tons of twisted steel girders, glass, concrete, air con machines and ducts, plumbing and sanitary ware, wiring and emergency genes, office equipment,, and 3000 HUMANS.. that in 2 100M high mounds.. (physics), not forgetting, the 2 remaining central cores, 417M high(!)! as the floors had ‘pancaked’, according to NIS.

The article reads like an advertisement for the aerospace company that makes the missile. It has the latest processor, radar-infrared-visible sensors, active-passive, does all this wiz-bang stuff, switches modes in flight, blablabla etc. ad nauseam. The Russian aerospace companies publish stuff like that too, I have seen some of it over the last several years. Military hardware always works splendidly until it is actually used in a real setting.
We still don’t know what started the fire(s) on the Moskva.
However the article mentions one thing which I think might be a factor — it may have been capsized and sunk by firefighting water. Fires on navy ships are extremely difficult to put out, and no doubt more difficult if the ship is full of ammo and explosives and fuel and so forth. Any ship of any navy. Fighting a fire pumps a lot of water into the ship, high above the water line.
When those pictures first appeared there were lots of comments saying it is not Moskva?
Sabotage by a crew member of the ship doesn’t really explain the quick claim of responsibility by the Ukrainians of their own missile strike and the bogus pentagon claim that the ship was under its own power to port and denial of a missile hit
It indicates that they Ukrainian side was aware of an attack taking place, which would indicate it wasn’t a drifting mine
A real accident onboard the same
So that seems like a planned underwater attack
Torpedo or placed charge?
Yes that’s something I considered BUT there’s something you have to understand. As soon as the ship caught on fire (for whatever reason) it sent massive PUBLIC SOS signals to everyone in the area. Obviously Turkey operates many ships there and was one of the responding ships. Turkey, Romania and others are all in the area and are in NATO. So as soon as the SOS was sent, all of NATO would have immediately been made aware of the fact that the ship is burning/damaged and Ukraine would have immediate knowledge of this and would theoretically jump ahead with the propaganda and claim they struck the ship so as to present themselves as the glorious victors when in reality all they did was monitor the public SOS signal. So there’s many such explanations that could easily explain how Ukraine knew so early, because EVERYONE in the area knew. The SOS call went out far and wide.
If the ship was just sitting there and not moving in a war zone then that is really stupid. I am not sure what the Russian officers and crew were doing. I am guess NATO as in USA or UK spec ops like frog man mine or some slow drone type of small torpedo.
Much of the Ukraine army are there for a job. A lot of old men and poor people. Anyone with money buys their way out of the army or left the country. The Ukraine post Nuland 2014 Coup became even more poor and far more corrupt. I guess for some of these poor and old men – they would get a paycheck and food.
I hope they lay down their arms faster. The country needs to be denazified and the oligarchs like Kolomoisky, Pinchuk, Poroshenko and their ilk need to be arrested or eliminated even if they left the country. Their assets need to be seized.
Intense fire in Donbass tonight:

I’m one of many who wondered in early days of the SMO, why Russia didn’t complete the encirclement of the Uke Eastern forces concentration.
Now we can guess that the Russian stragegists knew they could bleed a significant portion of total NATO and US armament stocks, by letting NATO and Kiev keep trying to send supplies and reserve troops to the Uke Eastern force.
But with Russia having dominance of the air, good sigint, space recon, and excellent missiles, almost all that NATO hardware gets blown up before reaching any battle lines. And the reserve Uke troops just end up outnumbering die-hard Azov commisars, resulting in surrender being an attractive and practical option rather than a quick way to get a bullet in the head.
In addition, Ukraine has (had?) the second-largest military in Europe after Russia, with 245,000 active personnel pre-war.
France, the third-largest, has 208,000. Germany has 184,000, Britain has 153,000, and Poland has 120,000.
By taking on Ukraine, Russia is confronting literally the biggest threat to it on the continent.
Re: The U.S. Navy’s Bonhomme Richard ‘sabotage’, they have a habit of finding patsies to more easily resolve tough problems, as happened to Admiral Kimmel after Pearl Harbor. The Army did similar with General Short.
Anyone of our community(living in Russia), who has more details/confirmation of this?
I will just turn attention to the announcement in Russia that as of today the public can make cash withdrawals of dollars and euros in substantial amounts, and also can order foreign currency transfers abroad, up to $5,000 if I understood properly. This means that poor Mr. Piotr Aven, the billionaire banker and Russian wheeler dealer sitting in London at present with his vast assets frozen under sanction rules, may yet be able to pay his chauffeur by ordering a transfer from his Sberbank account in Moscow.
Curiously no one is asking how and why Russia has reopened nearly free currency exchange and cash withdrawals after a month of strict clampdown. Where are the dollar bills and euro notes coming from? Surely the question is begging to be asked. It is not coming in from tourists to Russia since there are virtually no foreign tourists in Russia at present. It is not being carried by foreign business visitors for the same reason. So let us guess. Could it be that Germany and other select EU Member States are delivering plane loads of cash to Moscow to pay for their gas, oil and coal deliveries? Yes, this would allow them to claim they are defying Putin over payment in rubles while respecting the terms of their long term contracts with Gazprom. But it is a pretty picture that they would not want made public, since the European Parliament would make the life of them all quite unbearable if the word got out. Perhaps readers can offer better explanations.
https://gilbertdoctorow.com/2022/04/18/unasked-unanswered-questions/
For years now in the US they have talked about the “slabs of hundred dollar bills” that were sent to Iran as part of the signed nuclear deal. Since we see today how the US can seize Russia’s (and others) cash reserves held in Western banks. I think that was the point. The Iranians weren’t going to trust the Western banks to hold their money again. And made them return all their reserve funds that has been held/seized in the West.Russia needs to think about doing that too (unless ,as you suggest that is what they are doing).
“Upon cursory glance, this seems like a typical/likely missile strike. Center midships hit, portside list of ship, burn/explosion marks, etc, etc. However there’s a few major problems that few are discussing. Now keep in mind, I’m no naval expert but know enough to talk with some authority on certain things.”
I’m less naval expert than you. On first glance and if I don’t know anything about it, I think it’s sabotage or terrorism, that’s what it looks like. Wrong. Still, I end up sharing your opinion that it is no attack from the outside. The hole is too large and the damage on the internal walls next to the hole too little. What missile is going to act like that? That’s the best proof, the third picture from the top. With that picture, the expert can only come to stamp the obvious conclusion, and the dismission of absurd explanations and war lies.
“Firstly it has been noted by experts that in the Moskva photos, ALL life boats are missing which means they were deployed, which means already the Ukrainian side is caught in one lie because it means the sailors were in fact saved. The crane can even be seen in a sideward, non diametric position which means it was used to lower lifeboats to the water.”
Great observation.
“Sabotage.” Well, now it turns out that Andrei Martynov agrees with my non-expert conclusion. Great. (“If it doesn’t look like a duck, quack like a duck – it’s not!”)
Clarin newspaper from Buenos Aires cited the Ukrainian Minister of the Interior as saying that “the captain” of the ship had been killed too (Clarin has a correspondent in Ukraine).
This very fine post, if you just make it more diplomatic in a few spots, so it looks even more technical, could be accepted by a major newspaper or magazine like maybe National Review even. They don’t get the chance to. Oh, it’s up there.
Comparing the Moskva damaged photo to the hi-res of the undamaged ship, what really stands out is how low in the water she is, The ships’ name on the stern is completely underwater, and more fatally so is the entire lower row of portholes. At least some of which will have been broken by whatever broke out the upper portholes.
Also the rear deck seems less than a meter above the water.
It’s no wonder she ‘destabilized and sank while under tow.’
There is no major explosion damage seen in that photo, but lots of indicators of internal fire, on multiple internal deck levels. There MUST be major hull breach(es) below the original waterline for her to have taken on so much water before that photo was taken. Possibly multiple breaches all along the hull, since she’s still quite level lengthways.
I’m leaning towards either a loose mine, or some kind of slow/stealth guided torpedo. Maybe a towed line with multiple small hull penetrator charges?. I understand the event happened at night? With the ship’s position being known (US recon satellites, and/or being painted by drones) a slow, quiet shallow torpedo with a towed surface antenna for receiving guidance/location signals could have done this.

This is what they have finally let play. The ultimate secret wonderwaffe.
Overwhelming force saves lives – on both sides!
now is the time to enjoy the dumfounded “shock and awe” of the twitter warriors who’ve been shouting slava..blah blah blah” as the try to process the information that yes, Ukraine is being defeated in detail.the first is denial of course” how can this be” I almost joined twitter to read more of this but, no , for me its not worth joining twitter even for that. I envy you who will be able to have the satisfaction though.
No chance. The former experts on “Russia is losing badly” will become experts in covid 22. That’s the advantage about supporting the “current thing”, 2 weeks after when you are proven to be wrong it’s already a vague souvenir in your mind because you are now supporting the new “current thing”
I remember the report that Trump had the Pentagon make on the state of US War production capability. It appeared in The Saker in Oct or Nov 2018. There were huge gaps back then in capability and many items had to be imported. I was surprised to see no MSM picked it up and most Americans are ignorant that USA does not have capability to make many weapons/ammo. The politicos in Washington have been going by slogans and MSM propaganda for so long reality is biting in the ass.
Sputnik is also picking this story up now too and they have some good/useful numbers tables of U.S. weapons productions and what it’s capable of for some of the key systems https://sputniknews.com/20220418/us-running-out-of-javelin-anti-tank-missiles-to-send-to-ukraine-report-1094868838.html

Russia is seen firing a lot of cruise missiles in Ukraine. Will it make Ukraine pay for such costs of the “special military operation”? I don’t know about the legality of this. If it doesn’t, Russia is spending a lot of money and it is a disaster in economic terms for it too, though much less than for Ukraine. If Russia pays for rebuilding all it destroyed and for its own military expenditures, it’s a major disaster in economic terms that it would be blaming the Zelensky government for. I wonder about the role of the money costs of war in a decision to absorb or not Ukraine into Russia, as Putin hinted might happen in the end.
Depends how you look at it. Firstly Russia will be hypothetically turning back the clock on its ‘declining birth rates/population’ more than a quarter of a century because it will be gaining millions of new citizens from all the new republics it intends to subsume (DNR, LNR, Kherson, maybe Odessa, Kharkov, etc).
All of it will cost money in the near term to rebuild and subsidize etc, but in the long term it’s a big ‘investment’ as it will pay off with a much larger population base, industry, productivity, etc. In short, larger economy in the future.
And the sad truth is wars are great at stimulating the economy because the post-war period is akin to massive infrastructure projects that suddenly stimulate hundreds of thousands of new jobs in the construction fields and everywhere else to rebuild all the broken cities, creating large economic turnover etc, etc.
So I’d say in the short term it’s painful but in the long term it’s a huge net positive investment that will pay off in the long run.
Yes. The economic costs play a role in that direction, that is, in the gain of new territories that help compensate for all, and it’s “help compensate” because it was obvious that Russia didn’t want this. The first time he warned of this, Putin was speaking in the context of avoiding war so that Ukraine would keep its statehood. On this, I don’t see Russia keeping just parts of Ukraine, partly because that is harder to justify and partly because the left-out parts “cannot” be left free to join another state. That would ruin the whole SMO result, so it’s all or nothing, and in those terms Putin spoke.
I think it can be done, hypothetically. If Ukraine is totally denazified, the leaders charged, tried, hung, whatever, and new leaders installed which are neutral or pro-Russian, then I can see a Ukrainian rump state being left with Kiev and some western parts etc because as long as the right leadership and right re-education programs are in place (i.e. banning all the nazi ideology inculcation/indoctrination etc) then I don’t think Ukraine will have much problem staying out of the grasp of other ‘western’ countries. I always use this example but just look at Chechnya and Georgia. Russia was able to pacify them both after their wars and turn them both either pro-russian or modestly neutral so I think it’s possible with Ukraine perhaps but only after a very thorough ‘cleaning’. Most people/citizens are already neutral anyway after all they elected Yanukovich and such Russian leaning leaders in the past, they just need the right guidance, the right leadership, and for all western propaganda to be banned which indoctrinates them, i.e. banning of all western NGOs, main stream news, etc as has been done in Russia. But maybe I’m being too idealistic, we’ll see
Well enough Ukranians voted for Zelensky (assuming it was a clean election) as he promised peace so it is possible.
Most people anywhere just want a peaceful life and safe conditions to rear their children.
Looks traumatic for the rump state…they probably would prefer to be absorbed too. I wrote “partly because that is harder to justify.” This is a big part. If you conquer and dismember a state and leave parts that you don’t absorb, it is hard to defend yourself against the charge that you are wholly arbitrary and the worst (you’re then like Trump for whom “to the victor go the spoils” in Syria, Iraq or wherever you can grab it). It’s taken anyway, but it makes future relations with the West more difficult too; whatever the ultra-people say, Putin is pragmatic and won’t want to close relations to the West as he shapes the final outcome. In other words, a Western statesman who wants good future relations with Russia would prefer that he take all rather than parts, and the rump state with all its new difficulties (and eternal complaints maybe) would be a “moral problem” for the West. That historical “wound” would remain open indefinitely. Secondly, Putin himself cited the history of Ukraine as a part of Russia proper when he announced his decision to attack. He loses all that reasoning if he only takes parts. He must take all to keep that reasoning and justification in place. Thirdly, if that rump state does not do well or it’s a disaster, Russia would be blamed by everybody forever. I don’t know what they will do, but this other logic follows Putin’s statement on the issue.
And it’s all Zelensky’s fault. Putin warned about loss of statehood and Zelensky set the recovery of Crimea and Donbass as his victory goal. He might as well have then chosen the conquest of Moscow too. He will be held responsible by Ukrainian patriots themselves. Putin will not hinder the Ukrainian language like they tried to do with the Russian one. They will or would be treated as fully Russian, and they would likely be allowed a lot of autonomy if they request it, as every possible effort would be made to make them feel they belong in Russia and are as appreciated as any other Russian region. I think Putin especially loves Ukraine as “Russian”, judging by his manner and words when speaking about history, his decision to call this an SMO, and the great and obvious effort being made not to hurt civilians. I see Ukrainian pundits on TV speaking from Kyiv and they smile! I see American reporters looking at a cruise missile flying above, and one points to it and, to me, looks proud explaining what type of missile it is (!). Obviously, you look at those faces and you figure that they have felt it’s not so dangerous. They must notice “this enemy” is kind of looking out for them, and so Ze is out walking in the streets too, perorating about the Russian “purposeful” killing of civilians, etc.
That’s why he calls it SMO above all. He ‘cannot’ declare war on Ukraine. I think blogger Podoliaka was saying that the Russian public sees this war now as a war for the liberation of Ukraine. That would be Putin too. Maybe one should not criticize the SMO term. Calling it “SMO” is a matter of the heart above all.
Broken window fallacy. War does not stimulate the economy. Any sort of post-war economic “activity” is responding to a deficiency in the market due to the war.
Indeed. I read once a satyre about the broken window fallacy and one of Paul Krugman’s statement where they suggested to evacuate a US big city and then nuke it in order to generate an economic boom when it’s time to rebuild it. If tfhe reasoning is good, why not pushing it to an extreme?
Reincorporation of East Germany in the early nineteens (smaller in size and population) cost in the initial period close to 1 trillion DM. West Germany, the biggest European economy at the time, grew as the new Germany to become the dominant country of EU with 80 million inhabitants.
The Novorussian region of what is now called Ukraine was the richest and most developed part of Soviet Union. It was sucked dry in the last 30 years by the so-called oligarchs with two or three passports. It became the colony of Israel feeding it (and exporting huge agricultural surplusses, the profits going to neoconservative associated individuals who became the “owners” of the richest soil on Earth). It provided raw materials at rock-bottom prices, and highly skilled labour at sub-african salaries. A real nineteenth century colony.
Well, it seems that this bonanza for the oligarchs, Israel and USUK neocons is coming to its end. Reincorporation of Novorussia (at least) into the Russian world will lead to a rapid development, and redistribution of its wealth to favour the majority of its people, and not the less than 1% and associated foreign exploitators.
mee too!
I am actually expecting this war to wind down, as the khazar maffia disintegrates, bit by bit.
Hold Fast!
Oil/gas prices are way up. It’s like self-paying war… Russia’s economy will be fine.
If you lose something expensive for you but your salary goes up at the same time, you still have lost that which you could have paid for otherwise (the “opportunity cost” as economists call it). In the case of a country, the same thing applies. The gain of new territories, however, is different. Look how much the U.S. gained from Texas. Of course, Russia also would not be Russia without all the territories it gained by conquest in many centuries! The Louisianna purchase was really decisive for the U.S., and Napoleon sold it because he thought a war with someone else would mean that he would lose it anyway, so it was a quick sale. I have no idea what Zelensky was thinking of. “Beats me.”
Le Pen another fake opposition: her twitter account, just in:
I condemn Russia’s offensive against the Ukrainian people in Donbass.
We must support all possible diplomatic efforts to reach a ceasefire and impose peace on Russia so that Ukraine regains its full sovereignty.
https://twitter.com/MLP_officiel/status/1516158134586388488
She is very easy to blackmail: swinger(partouzes), coke addicted etc a lot of corruption in different fields.
I always said that the all Le Pen family are US assets like all the rest(NSA anyone?)
It is of course the same in all EU countries, EU is Ukraine 2.0 or the opposite, no difference.
And expect worse as ‘Marion Maréchal Le Pen’ is even worse, father (R Auque) was a Mossad agent hostage for a while in Lebanon. She betrayed la ‘Marine’ for zemmour who failled miserably(he is also a neocon zio agent).

Funny: Marion Maréchal-Le Pen’s father was a Mossad agent
Marion M Le Pen will be the next ‘fake opposition’ to macron or his clown in 2027.
IFE News Agency is tweeting “Russian media is reporting that Ukraine is about to imminently surrender.”
IFE is reputable. (Although they don’t specify which Russian media.)
Stranger things have happened.
@ Anton Gorbatow
Anton, when you put those unverified reports, mind to add the link to the post? I have spent all night looking for news on the “imminent surrender” of Ukraine, at no avail. Time for me to take some sleep. Next time, please save me so much work, post the link. Thanks.
:-)

But before RT accept the naked truth about Marine Lepen pigs will fly.
This site also has some good reports on the war:
https://thedreizinreport.com/2022/04/17/new-thrills-await/
Gleb Bazov is receiving reports that FAB 5000’s have been used on Azovstal. Is that possible?
A totally different mindset will be required to comprehend the new Russian Way of War we are about to witness.
“…Most likely, everything will happen in a form that we have not yet seen…”
The above statement was made by “the former head of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Russian Air Force special Forces Command, Reserve Colonel Sergei Khatylev.”
A. Martyanov has been hammering on this issue for quite a while, now we will have the privileged opportunity to see unfold before our eyes, for which we need a new optics.
I certainly hope the Ukro-Wermacht continues to surrender massively, otherwise the Russian war machine could be renamed The Widow Makers.
https://m.vz.ru/politics/2022/4/19/1154358.html
The offensive itself in the Donbas will not go according to the canons, so that the Ukrainian General Staff could not predict it, suggests the former head of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Russian Air Force special Forces Command, Reserve Colonel Sergei Khatylev. “There will be no classic offensive, when artillery is used at a distance of hundreds of kilometers along the front, and then tanks, planes and so on enter the battle. Most likely, everything will happen in a form that we have not yet seen. Pinpoint missile strikes will disable key facilities and headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Then, relatively speaking, the tanks will go to the left, the infantry-to the right, the aircraft will shred from the flanks. Everything will be twisted in such a way that Ukrainian officers will not have time to figure out what is happening, ” Khatylev explained to VZGLYAD newspaper.

This update made me realize why the Western countries complaining about depleting their weapon inventories is not about helping Ukraine but it is a complaint that they cannot replenish their own weapons stocks. Which I am sure is raising questions among the better NATO commanders about how are they going to fight the Russians directly in the Ukraine with low inventories of weapons which cannot be increased as needed. This goes also to the United States.
I don’t how many Saker readers are aware of Matt Stoller. He has been waging a war against American monopolies as the major source of the countries problems. For example, he has shown how four meat processes jacked up the price of beef making record profits while cattle ranchers lost money and even their ranches while beef prices went up.
He has also written how monopolies and Wall Street for the sake of profit have crippled the “defense industrial base”. Stoller wrote about how the Afghan air force was basically made inoperative because all the people repairing the planes were American contractors who left the country with all the tools and software needed to repair the planes. And how fixing simple motors in in other areas required they be sent away to be repaired by contractors who typically had a lock on their contracts. Contrast this to a video I saw of Russian military technicians repairing tanks in the Ukrainian field. You think contractors will go into real war zones to repair equipment?
BTW, Stoller is vehemently anti-Chinese but he says that equally dangerous to US defense security is Wall Street.
I would suggest doing a search on “matt stoller military monopolies” to find all of his informed and jaw dropping essays on the relationship on degrading military might and Wall Street. Here is one example:
America’s Monopoly Crisis Hits The Military
https://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/americas-monopoly-crisis-hits-the-military/
The report listed dozens of militarily significant items and inputs with only one or two domestic producers, or even none at all. Many production facilities are owned by companies that are financially vulnerable and at high risk of being shut down. Some of the risk comes from limited production capability. Mortar tubes, for example, are made on just one production line, and some Marine aircraft parts are made by just one company—one which recently filed for bankruptcy.
At risk is everything from chaff to flares to high voltage cable, fittings for ships, valves, key inputs for satellites and missiles, and even material for tents. As Americans no longer work in key industrial fields, the engineering and production skills evaporate as the legacy workforce retires.
Even more unsettling is the reliance on foreign, and often adversarial, manufacturing and supplies. The report found that “China is the single or sole supplier for a number of specialty chemicals used in munitions and missiles…. A sudden and catastrophic loss of supply would disrupt DoD missile, satellite, space launch, and other defense manufacturing programs. In many cases, there are no substitutes readily available.” Other examples of foreign reliance included circuit boards, night vision systems, batteries, and space sensors.
Isn’t all that a GOOD thing.. less chance of W A R??
Always a problem in a mission critical supply chain when one link places a higher priority on their profit than they do on mission success.
Root cause failure analysis: keep on asking “why?” until the chain of possible answers runs out. MOst times there is a greedy prick at the end of the chain.
Hi, NightVision!
Thank you for your always great contribution!
Someone posted a link on a Bitchute channel called Tremregi regarding a potential Russian retaliation related to the destruction of the Moskva ship. According to the text, there was a strong explosion at a RAF base called Welford in the UK, just 2 days after the incident with the ship.
I did google and found the story told by many British news outlet, including videos, but of course they say nothing about a potential Russian attack.
So, We may never know what is really going on behind the scenes, but just wanted to share with you guys.
Here are a few links:

Ever hear the old saying, “all coincidences in war, are not related” so more than likely just a firecracker shop going pop.
Why one would have a fireworks storage or manufacturing beside ones largest weapons storage facility makes….hmm, makes little sense, unless. What if it wasn’t fireworks. One could attack the RAF facility….no plausible deniability, the resulting explosions, well, that’d be war, no?
I seen lots of squibs cooking off in vid….but, got me thinking. Not a fireworks plant (in disguise only) but a facility to manufacture primers, detonators. Would you make the most explosive component, in the same storage facility, as the weapons. Not me. But somewhere close by would make sense…..waffling on coincidences, with a touch of plausible deniability……kinda hard to supply weapons without detonators.
Cheers M
Excellent report. Thank you Nightvision.
On the Moskva
The Dutch newspaper NRC had an article with as title that at least 37 died on the Moskva.
https://www.nrc.nl/nieuws/2022/04/18/ten-minste-37-bemanningsleden-kwamen-om-door-aanval-op-russische-schip-moskva-a4114919
The article refers to two Russian (anti-Putin) sources:
https://meduza.io/en/feature/2022/04/18/at-least-thirty-seven-dead
https://novayagazetaeu.substack.com/p/–29c?s=w
There are hundreds of civilians captured by Ukies in rest of Azovstal. That itself will delay final victory at least one week. Think about same happening in Kharkov and other cities. Russian forces with this current attitude won’t liberate the eastern Ukraine during this year. Whole “special operation” is becoming real traumatic nightmare for Russia. We haven’t witnessed not a single even small scale local uprising against Kiev regime among civilians, not a single. Germans at least had their Stauffenberg moment but in Ukraine – none. This is likely biggest Russian failure. It seems to be clear now that Russia lost Ukraine forever in 2014.
Just like the jihadis, all those civvies in Aszostal will be wives, girlfriends and the kids they produced over the past eight years.
Local uprisings…..wake up man. That’s a death sentence for civvies, see Bocha.
Cheers
Yeah right…
Civilians terrorized by nazi random shooters, plunderers and rapists barely revolt.
Some missing things from the Moskva theory:
– we never saw the OTHER side of the ship, and you’re assuming it’s intact. Also wouldn’t the rescue ship approach the less severely damaged side first?
– the radar could have returned to the neutral position after the possible hit(s). There would be no reason for it to keep pointing in the direction it last tracked something hours ago …
– how would Ukrainians know so fast that something happened on this exact ship? Russians admitted much later to something happening and it took others days to get some low-resolution satellite images.
Sergei Shoigu miraculously reappeared at the board of the military department (after, according to Western media, “he has been side-lined by Putin and may have had a massive heart attack”)
He said that “the RF Armed Forces will introduce new methods of warfare to better adapt to modern conditions of military confrontation.”
I guess that means pain dial goes to 11.
1. the ship is listing massively to its portside. Do you know what that means? That means the port side is damaged not the starboard side.
1a. if you look at the orientation of where the ship was facing (bow pointed south) in its final satellite photo (no wake in photo means it was stationary) means that NEITHER starboard NOR portside could have possibly been hit by missiles because Odessa was not off starboard side which was facing due west. Of course there’s possibility the ship re-oriented a different direction after the final satellite photo, we may never know this
2. who’s going to return the radar to the original position? When a ship is first hit, there are still threats in the air and the captain’s job is to continue searching and neutralizing the threats to the very last moment. When things have gotten so far that they have to abandon ship, no one is going to say “ok let’s make sure we reset all of our systems to neutral/standby mode before we leave”. And secondly, many naval experts stated that the ship likely lost all power on its own sometime during/after the hit which would mean the radar systems would just “lock in place” of where they were at, and not “return to neutral position”, that’s completely illogical.
3. I answered elsewhere the Moskva sent wide scale public SOS calls to all ships and countries in area as soon as it was damaged. All of NATO knew it was burning within 5 minutes and clearly Ukraine used this as propaganda to claim they did it. The SOS was answered by Turkish ships all over the Black Sea
