For the Saker Blog by Saker Staff
While battles are raging, factual reports are few. This is fog of war and it is better not to report on the minutiae that are still being decided on the battlefield. Here is a short machine translation from Readovka but what they report as areas or towns taken by the Russian forces needs to be taken with a pinch of salt at this stage.
On the fronts. In the north of the Kharkiv region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not abandon attempts to break through to the border. The enemy has no other real results on this part of the front.
On the Izyum part of the front, in almost all directions, our troops are making progress. In the Barvenkovsky direction, fighting is currently underway near the locality of Gusarovka. And we assume that they are about to spread to Barvenkovo itself. Dolgenkoe is ours, the fighting has moved to the south. It is reported that in the vicinity of Krasny Liman, the APU is pouring in, our troops have occupied Drobyshevo and Aleksandrovka, and there are battles near the Estuary itself. From Yampol, the line moved to the village of Dibrovo.
Near Belogorovka, the fighting for the bridgehead continues with ferocity. There are battles on the outskirts of Severodonetsk, the APU blew up a railway bridge in the direction of Rubizhne. North of Popasnaya, successful progress, expanding the safe zone around the city. In the north, they advanced beyond Kamyshevakha. Near Donetsk, there is fighting along the entire line, there is an advance in two places, there is an assault on the outskirts of New York and the Avdiivka-Konstantinovka highway.
On the Zaporozhye part of the front there are no changes.
It’s the same on the Southern Front. New details of the battle for Zmeiny Island have emerged, and the whole puzzle has been solved, although we still have some questions.
One fact and many rumors
Fact: Nine Ukrainian soldiers who left the territory of the blocked Azovstal plant in Mariupol represented the interests of a larger group and asked for negotiations, said Alexander Khodakovsky, founder of the Vostok Battalion (DPR).
“Now a lively stage of negotiations is underway. It was just the first group leaving. As it turned out, the group left, representing the interests of a larger group that continues to be at Azovstal,” Khodakovsky said on the air of the 60 Minutes program on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
Rumor: There are rumors over the radio networks that the Ukies will mass surrender if Azovstal surrenders. I stress this is rumor. It looks like this from many sources: At 17.30 the mass surrender of the AFU will begin from Azovstal, the radio airwaves are buzzing with NEWS all over the front…16.05.2022.
This is one source: https://twitter.com/ruslantopa40/status/1526136010186317825
Ukies are calling for awol commanders that left them in the field. This is broadly reported and at least in Lugansk confirmed by the Russian MoD as follows:
- Military medics of the Central MD, together with their civilian colleagues from the Lugansk People’s Republic, continue to provide the necessary medical assistance to civilians.
- Assistance is also provided to captive AFU servicemen left by their commanders on the battlefield after retreat.
- Russian servicemen use Linza armored ambulance to evacuate casualties from the combat zone.
Let us see what facts we receive over the next 24 hours.
Enjoy your discussion and please be careful on the Ukie propaganda. It is everywhere. (The rumors about mass surrenders could be Russian propaganda being seeded in the field).
Never relaxing to be entombed and encircled especially when it rains thunder.
As for Avastol there should be no deal with those people just surrender, then they all need to be screened for any Nato elements.
Hi,
Did you mean “Nazi” rather than “NATO” elements?
A very good history piece describing 404’s nationalists’ movement over the last century, or so, was on Lew Rockwell recently, enjoy.
Cheeers, JaKo
Both,i don’t see any difference.
Thanks for the link. Some of the graphic video links are just too horrific to watch,
You might be interested in the following link. Britain and America are the true arbiters of all evil in the world today. I hope that some day both will pay the price (I’m British).
I’d also like to say something about propaganda and brainwashing. People cannot be brainwashed – they believe what they want to believe, it’s simply a reflection of their own evil personality.

“The following text was first presented at the Rosa Luxemburg Conference, Berlin, January 11, 2014. It was subsequently included in my book entitled The Globalization of War. America’s Long War against Humanity
The concept of the Long War is part of US military doctrine since the end of World War II. In many regards, todays wars are a continuation of the Second World War.
Worldwide militarization is also part of a global economic agenda, namely the application of the neoliberal economic policy model which has led to the impoverishment of large sectors of the World population.”
Carol, I couldn’t agree more with your comments. After BREXIT, I thought the UK would pursue a wiser and more balanced foreign policy, but when Parliament launched this “Global Britannia” nonsense, I can’t help but think that the British remain sick with a late-stage virus of imperialism.
No, there shouldn’t.
I just saw a video on youtube where a group of Asov Nazis were literally crucifying a Russian serviceman.
Just outrageously sinister to me how the West supports the Ukronazis with weaponry and heavy artillery, portable rocket launchers. This just can’t have the sympathy of most rational citizens here. This evil is clearly the filthy actions of the neocons, oligarchs, and MIC. A tiny % of the total populace. So sickens me with this hidden in plain sight activity.
if the ukies have any sense, it’s time to go home.
put the nazis on trial and deal with it.
we in the west were not asked if we support them.our deluded leaders have stoked the conflict.
fuck the European Union and the American crime families, they all need to be dealt with.
no ordinary citizens in Europe support this shit.
Russia has a far superior leader.
only sheep support this.
I second this. Outside of a relatively small number of very sick-minded, “woke” activists, very few Americans are invested in our fake government’s plan for WWIII. We are too busy dealing with the effects of inflation on food and gasoline, and the fact that it’s elite criminals in Washington D.C., N.Y.C. and Tel Aviv making our families unsafe.
On top of that, the current “administration” wasn’t even democratically-elected. People are exiting the military at such a rate that they may try to freeze personnel. My little brother wanted to do a full twenty. He’s going to be leaving the military after 15 years. No one wants to die for Hunter Biden’s desire to party in Eastern Europe.
I pray for a miracle of peace, and for the reunification of the Western and Eastern Churches.
Z.
….My little brother wanted to do a full twenty. He’s going to be leaving the military after 15 year…..
More detail pluz; is this widespread ?
Je me joins à vos prières ! Dieu vous garde !
The policy of moderation explicitly prohibits some things, but I believe that the union of Eastern and Western Churches, including against the neo-Pentecostal heretics that the US implants around the world, is something to pray for. And for a peace that doesn’t mean American oppression either.
“…….put the nazis on trial and deal with it…….”
And make sure repetition of another type of “Project Aerodynamic” is not allowed….

The support for war in Ukraine is low in US (same kind of war as Afghanistan). Not so in Europa, where Media is hysterical
The media in the US is hysterical as well; the media are part of the system of control.
What matters is any kind of reliable poll of the public, although it would only show the level of success of state propaganda.
If the Ukies had any sense, they would have gone home when their commanders started going AWOL.
If the Ukies had any sense, they would have gone home when Mariupol’ fell
If the Ukies had any sense, they would have stayed home rather than supporting a government that runs on corruption, banditry, mayhem and outright murder.
I’m a descendant of Ukie and Lithuanian immigrants. They left because Ukraine has been a mess since the arrival of Ghengis Khan and the Golden Horde.
I would like to know what comes up from the cellar! Could be interesting.
Good Sitrep. Factual and prudent. It does seem as if the allied forces are registering not insignificant successes and the trend is positive. A surrender at Azovstal would be a massive psychological blow ; although I don’t believe that it will lead to mass surrenders elsewhere on the front. It would be childish to believe that completely ; if only because information to the Ukie troops is tightly controlled and local commanders could always dismiss this as Russian propaganda. Just remember the tall tales they told the troops about Russians torturing and killing prisoners systematically.
However I think the impact, especially with the Western audiences, will be interesting, as this kind of success cannot be completely hidden. Russian army should be careful ; this increases the pressure on the Ukies to try for a psyops a la Snake Island to redirect attention.
I noted an interesting info via Levi Godman, it seems Zelensky has fired a higher-up in the Ukrainian command. There are *rumors* of ever growing dissent betweeh the military commanders and the office of the president (OP) ; Ukie generals ask urgently for retreating from Severodonetsk, while the OP wants to avoid at all costs a Russian victory, however small, and is going for a kind of mini-Stalingrad. I don’t know how far it’s true, but it does seems plausible, especially now that Russia has documented the Ukie losses as Snake Island and that it definitely seems the Ukies lost quite a lot there.
Friedrich Paulus asked Hitler for the same thing but he was denied. How history rhymes….
Yes, and several attempts were made on Hitlers life. Just sayin’, history…
If history rhymes, maybe several attempts will be made on Zelensky’s wife.
” surrender at Azovstal would be a massive psychological blow ; although I don’t believe that it will lead to mass surrenders elsewhere on the front”
It doesnt have to LEAD. But mass surrenders occur in narrow time frame because of the same external reasons everywhere. Like all men has similar needs. We all gets hungry after similar period, get sick from the same bad conditions etc.
Remaining Ukies in Azovstal may be in better position than some grunt in the muddy trench near Donetsk.
Great Sit-Rep from The Saker. This guy Andrei, is seriously under-rated. He puts Ritter & Dreizin, in the shade.
Do you refer to Andrei , aka The Saker , as single person?
or do you refer to The Saker as a Group , formed by Andrei as leader and his collaborators as staff?
Because Andrei , some time ago , manifested that he will take a time out from his duties .
This sitrep was made by his staff , which keeps the site-management and the information flow running.
I put this only for clarification .
And yes , you are spot on , Andrei is seriuosly underrated by most of the people , but correctly appreciated by me and others which follow international conflicts on the internet.
Top answer and explanation, kudos!
May be this:
https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/reports-u-s-admiral-surrenders-to-russia-in-mariupol-ukraine
Thanks for that link. Hal Turner is not always the most reliable of sources and is often sensationalist, however, not only is a retired American admiral named but also a British colonel. As with the previous big name captures, it would easy to deny if this is fake news. Is there any news of the American and Canadian generals allegedly captured a few weeks ago? It will be fascinating to see how the western presstitutes spin this as once it becomes obvious how deeply NATO (or “ex” NATO) officers are involved in this war.
What can I say but this Canadian mercenary was sucked in by his country’s propaganda as well as Western media lies.
He was lucky to escape from the Donbas alive but I do wish that the Russians got to him. He is an invading force. He went there to kill Russian citizens as well as military personnel.
He still wants to fight?
https://youtu.be/zN2NdiFJFh0
Sorry Mods, forgot the link
The Canadian General was given an offer: Fight in Ukraine and die a “good death”; or, Be forced into pension-less, disgraced retirement and your family shunned in poverty forever, because WE got the sexual, #Metoo goods on ya with that junior officer you had to try and ram your “Johnson” in!
Similar to the offer Tom Hagen made to Frankie “Five Angels” in the “Godfather Two”…..remember what Frankie did?
I am petty sure the Russians are safe if bozos like that canadian stutter are fighting on the Nazi side.
At this point it’s really hard for me to know who I should believe. Southfront says that Russians are retreting from the Kharkiv region and the ukies are reaching the border. This is not at all good news, and I interpret it as a sign that things are not going actually well. Please help me understand the situation!
It is a Special Military Operation and encompasses the attrition and degradation of opposing forces.
Outright obliteration would cause too many civilian casualties, many of whom are Russian.
SecDef Austin has sued for ceasefire so, as always:
“By indirections find directions out.”
Why doesn’t Russia use its high altitude bombers in the Donbas? Stingers only good to 10000’ and gravity bombs cheap and plentiful?????????
Why? They have plenty arty, which is much cheaper. Now, when Ukies are in range from all sides, infantry and tanks do not have to advance any more. They will sit in cover and watch fireworks until Ukies surrender or die. The most stubborn (and lucky) will eventualy die from hunger.
If true, it is probably deliberate (some kind of trap). The inbalance between the AFU forces near Kharkiv and the Russian troops on the other side of the border is so huge that Russia can quash them anytime. Maybe they want them to penetrate slightly inside Russia or to pull away from Kharkiv as much AFU forces that they can. Russia is obviously not concerned about this group.
OK, this was reported from the Ukraine via Reuters.
Of course, some of us are asking why they carried their own border post while supposedly reaching the border. Was it for a photo opportunity? Hahaaa … This is funny.
https://twitter.com/RWApodcast/status/1526146535766913025
To cite Mr. Drezin; “the U.S. Secretary of Defense would NEVER call and ask Russia for an “immediate ceasefire” (according to CNN), if Uncle Sam didn’t think his Ukraine sugar baby rag doll needed it.”
Russians have always been ready to give land(temporary) in order to “set the board” so stay calm, who do you know who´s an expert in manipulating our emotions? The Western “free media” and Intel community are masters in spinning their diabolical web so question things by all means but do not fall into the emotional/propaganda trap.
“No one is gonna decide where we must bomb, no one and I mean it”.
It’s possible to look like you are at the border when you carry border posts with you.
https://twitter.com/RWApodcast/status/1526146535766913025?cxt=HHwWgsCjuYeM-60qAAAA
If western twitter media orders a post from the Ukrainian border, they get a Ukrainian border post.
Also now you can buy one at amazon for 150USD to support the war affords.
When Ukraine has been pushed back from the border, you get a post-Ukrainian border.
southfront needed serious funding some time ago – i believe that is the key analysis of their Uki battlefield analysis
You mean they stopped begging for funds for a while? I’ve been on and off that site since 2014, and they always ask for more money. Do you know when that was?
– This is not at all good news,
You are thinking like most are thinking … when SP500 is up 300 point they think SP500 is heading North. Those people will always lose money
Retreat or withdrawl?
The objective is not to ‘hold ground’, it is to demilitarize and denazify.
Russia is protecting its troops from unnecessary casualties. Withdrawing in the face of attack not only does that but also draws the enemy out into the open from cities and villages where they are hiding behind human shields.
Whoops. Hello, artillery!
Southfront analysis is absurd.
Presently, the Kharkov front is of low importance to both sides. The primary front now is the Donbass. As of early April, Russia and the Ukies have kept only small numbers of troops at Kharkov.
Two weeks ago, the Ukies began moving forward at Kharkov. Apparently the Russian screening force made no real attempt to hold ground there, opting instead to fall back on a strong defensive line built along the Donets River. Therefore, the Ukies captured roughly eight villages without much effort.
Since last weekend, there have been no reports of any more Ukie advances near Kharkov. It appears the Ukies are not trying to penetrate the Russian line at the Donets River.
It’s not clear what the Ukies were attempting to achieve with their Kharkov advance. Many analysts believe the attack was meant to draw Russian strength away from Donbass, in order to alleviate the pressure on Ukie troops at Izyum, Severodonetsk, and elsewhere. I don’t know if Russia actually transferred troops from Donbass back to Kharkov.
Other analysts argue the Ukie Kharkov “offensive” is meant to threaten Russian supply lines that run from southern Russia, through Kupyansk, down to Izyum. If so, as of now, the Ukies are not in position to threaten this supply line. That’s because the Russians are holding firm at the Donets River, blocking any possible Ukie advance on Kupyansk.
Western media is overhyping the Ukie Kharkov advance, in a severe way too. To repeat myself, Kharkov is a sideshow front for both sides. The real important action is unfolding in the Donbass.
So what’s happening on the Donbass front? It’s not clear. Both sides are obfuscating the facts about the Donbass fighting. Nonetheless, it appears the Russians have indeed made some advances in recent days in and around Severodonetsk. That city is the easternmost Ukie bastion in Donbass, where 8,000 Ukie troops are dug into bunkers and entrenchments.
We know the Russian advances in and around Severodonetsk are real, because even the Ukrainian General Staff has admitted losing ground in this area. However, it’s not yet clear if Russia’s successes on this axis are significant, or if they’ll hold. Let’s see.
The other Russian axis of advance, Izyum, is the focus of intense fighting right now. The Ukies have announced they’ve unleashed a major counteroffensive against Izyum. But so far, there’s no evidence the Ukies are moving forward. The Russians are claiming they’ve been gaining a little ground near Izyum, but their reports cannot be corroborated as of now.
What happens at Izyum may indicate what direction the war is taking. Ditto for Severodonetsk. The situation is tense for both sides. Something important is at stake here, I believe. I’m checking news on an hourly basis looking for any evidence that one side or the other is getting the upper-hand.
One thing we know for certain is that casualties are horrifically high on both sides. Western media, needless to say, is hyping up alleged Russian losses as much as possible. It’s not clear if Western estimates of Russian casualties are accurate or grossly inflated. Either way, Russia’s definitely lost a lot of troops.
Western media rarely says anything about Ukie combat dead and wounded, but we know they’re huge because just last month, in mid-April, US intelligence officials released their estimates of each sides KIA and WIA. This info was published in a May 1st, 2022 New York Times article titled “Deaths of Foreign Fighters Renew Attention on Ukraine War.” Here are the figures listed in that article:
Ukie KIA: 5,500 to 11,000
Ukie WIA: 18,000
Russian KIA: 7,000 to 10,000
Russian WIA: “several tens of thousands”
Be aware that US intelligence has a strong motive to underreport the Ukraine’s true casualty levels (I won’t explain why). Therefore, if US intelligence is admitting 11,000 Ukie KIA as of a month ago, the truth has got to be horrific for the Ukrainian military. Especially now, four weeks later.
Another factor to keep in mind is the flood of US/NATO start-of-the-art, heavy weaponry to the Ukies. There’s the question of what impact these weapons will have on the tide of combat.
Everything’s in flux. Stay tuned.
I don’t think the Russian KIA is 7,000-10,000, the last report from the Russian Defense Ministry was 3,000 for it do double or triple is highly doubtful as its mostly an artillery fight. I would also wager that most of the Russian losses were in Mariupol and Kiev in the early days of the war. The Ukraine losses are far higher, there is no double about that.
But do you really believe the Russian Ministry of Defense? It’s information updates are no more reliable than those of the Ukrainian General Staff. That’s because both have a powerful motive for controlling public perception of the war. It’s not their job to tell the truth. It’s their job to conduct public relations.
Information updates from the media relations offices of the Ukie and Russian militaries must be taken with a grain of salt. A huge grain of salt.
Any country waging war has a vested interest in making sure the domestic and international public only knows what is convenient, for that country, to know. Therefore, defeats need to be covered up, victories need to be overhyped, and a rosy picture of the war effort has to be maintained. That means puffery and spin. There’s no exception to this rule.
Read about the history of the Vietnam War, in particular how it was handled on a media level. Between 1965 and 1968, the Pentagon made daily announcements of enemy “body counts,” villages secured, Viet Cong hide outs uprooted and destroyed, and so on. The Pentagon’s message to the American people was that the war was “being won,” and that soon it would “be over.”
In truth, between 1965 and 1968, the US was sinking deeper and deeper into a bloody stalemate, with no light at the end of the tunnel. Then came the 1968 Tet Offensive, which blew the roof off of the Pentagon’s lies regarding America’s military situation in Vietnam. That was also when mainstream American media suffered a humiliating loss of credibility because the US public realized MSM was complicit in peddling all the untrue US military reports about the war’s progress. Therefore, 1968 was a milestone year for the US, because from that point onward, Americans no longer believed anything the Pentagon and US government said about the war.
I think you get my point. All nations at war must utilize skilled public relations offices to hide the truth from the world about how their armies are faring in the field. Sometimes they lie a lot. Other times they lie a little. But they lie, and for good reason too.
To conclude: any info coming from the Russian MoD or the Ukie General Staff must not be taken at face value. It may be true, or it may not be true. Or maybe it’s a little of both. There’s just no way for us to know.
@ GW
“… There’s just no way for us to know. …”
That’s right.
BTW, my father, who spent his WW2 years in the occupied Europe, told me once how the official German news – even at the time of German most colossal defeats on the eastern front – were confidently “informing” the public about “great advances of the Wehrmacht” and “imminent military victory of the German Reich” … the final victory being “just around the corner”…
I don’t trust any side’s battlefront propaganda in the present conflict either. Wake me up only after the fat lady sings.
“But do you really believe the Russian Ministry of Defense?”
That’s where I stopped reading…..you rest your case Sir! Don’t waste your time trying anymore…..
“This info was published in a May 1st, 2022 ****New York Times*** article titled “Deaths of Foreign Fighters Renew Attention on Ukraine War.” Here are the figures listed in that article:”
“But do you really believe the Russian Ministry of Defense?”
But do you really believe the New York Times? It’s just a shill for the US MIC.
“But do you really believe the New York Times? It’s just a shill for the US MIC.”
But the information regarding Ukie casualties comes directly from US intelligence, not the NYT. Astonishingly, that source admits Ukie losses of 11,000 KIA and 18,000 WIA.
This is a shockingly high level of casualties for the Ukie army. And, given that US intelligence is under pressure to downplay Ukie losses, the truth could be far, far worse. Also, the intelligence report dates from mid-April. Now, a full month later, Ukie losses could be 50% higher. Easily.
Nobody knows how much longer the Ukie army can retain combat efficiency given that its losing so many troops. The Ukraine’s total population is 37 million (at most). Its pool of military aged males is not especially high. That’s the point I’m trying to make.
It depends whether L&D forces dead and injured are counted.
Counting Russian troops alone gives an inaccurate position of the conflict.
3000 may or may not be true for Russian troops but Donbas troops count too.
It might be if you factor in the allied forces
some decent points, but:
1. state of the art weapons? hardly. they’re using this operation as a dumping ground for garbage systems older than the soldiers using them (when said use is possible without months of training). when i think “western state of the art” i think of the F35. not a good look.
2. the NYT are stenographers for the desk jockey generals who have never seen actual combat. the ukies can probably count their own dead but are such blatant liars that it’s pointless to even listen. same for russian casualties and even those won’t be clear until the end of the operation.
russia so far has reined in would be “influencers” who would normally give away tactics and locations for the sake of posting to “the ‘gram” (insta, not tele). they let us know what they want us to know when they want us to know it and good for them.
as i said in another comment, the russians have a “this ain’t checkers it’s chess” outlook that the ritalin/adderol generations in the west can’t handle. it took quite a while to pacify syria and that was without a true existential threat to russia itself. or, as the saying goes:
you can have it fast and cheap but sloppy
you can have it slow and good but expensive
but you can’t have it cheap, fast and good
so young, restless westerners should heed the advice of this guy in his 30s:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IS_v77asiw
Southfront is a 5th columnist website that pretends to be pro-Russian. They frequently post Strelkov’s articles and consider him as credible, but the man lost his commanding post after a debacle during the 2014 war. I don’t consider Southfront to be a reliable source
I’ve been reading Southfront for years. I find them highly credible.
Not entirely sure about a mass surrender any time soon but there are certainly videos on Telegram of Ukro military personnel standing as one with a statement being read out by one of the group’s representatives, purportedly sending a message to Zelensky that they have no useful weapons, they have no direction, they are under constant attack… basically sitting ducks.
Maybe the truth is hitting home when many of them have seen first hand how many of their men have been obliterated in battle. Heaps of videos on Telegram as well.
If there are no Ukro officers leading their soldiers from behind, i.e. officers ordering the soldiers to fight or be killed on the spot, then I can see more and more Ukro soldiers laying down their arms. Until then, they will continue to fight as they either feel they have ‘no choice’, are totally brainwashed by the Ukro prpaganda, or are just happy to continue to fight for whatever cause they believe in.
Propaganda dies in the face of reality.
Three mobilizations, the entire country under bombardment, huge casualty numbers, gasoline almost nonexistent to say nothing of ordinary goods. Roving gangs of thugs stealing and killing, thriving black markets …
Extreme efforts to control the narritaive are defeated not just by everyday events but by AFU troops calling home with news that is the opposite of what they are being told.
A lot of people think the fighters in Azovstal fight so hard to protect NATO officers. However, they could instead be protecting a Ukrainian leader who either knows too much (about war crimes) or has the clout to end the war (at least partially). Maybe a general who will call on soldiers in the Donbas to lay down their weapons or seek peace with the Russians?
“While battles are raging, factual reports are few. This is fog of war and it is better not to report on the minutiae that are still being decided on the battlefield.”
That’s a beauty, really wise. Newspapers should say it now and then. Yesterday a major newspaper (NYT) reported in a front-page story that it was Russian forces that were destroyed in that pontoon bridge. Maybe others have too. That could be a Waterloo if they’re wrong. It said that Russia is trying to hide it. Judging by reports here, they should have just said that it’s not clear yet, rather than follow their bias.
Don’t confuse propaganda with bias or the NYT with news.
I’ve seen videos of the Russians attacking the Ukies on the pontoon bridges … with artillery and tanks from the perspective of drones and tank videos. The original story looks increasingly like Ukrainian disinformation. This looks like another “Snake Island” falsification in which Ukraine claimed Ukrainian losses as Russian losses. In the videos, the Russians made quick work of the pontoon bridges and the areas beyond the bridges.
The NYT has become a pure propaganda raf. If the NYT claims they were destroyed Russian AFVs, you can be sure they were Ukrainian. Saddam having WMD, Saddam being friends with Al Queda, etcc, NYT is propaganda. Sjripal, Navalmy etc etc
The most interesting or disturbing rumour I have heard recently is that Zelensky has promoted a merger between Poland and rump Ukraine. If that were to eventuate and Ukraine was to be absorbed into Poland would the rump Ukraine then become a NATO member? Moreover will RF allow this to eventuate? Would such a merger be also used to destabilise RF or would they be too busy fighting amongst themselves? It would be better for RF to take the whole of Ukraine and push the Nasties into Poland thus destabilising a NATO element especially when considering Finland’s stupidity.
Conzalo Lira has the opposite bottomline. Poland and Ukraine will fight each other as there are disputed areas between them … a continuation of WWII
Also another disturbing report from Romania: the puppet Romanian president Iohannis (a German ethnic), has signed official documents towards the merger of the Romanian army with the Ukrainian army, starting in July!!! Will this be their solution to finally involve nato in this war?
I believe this development was largely ignored or missed altogether by the real analysts! Could Romania (where people absolutely oppose any involvement, but have no voice, like everywhere else) be the Trojan horse, while all eyes are on Poland? Or both Romania and Poland, which will open two attacking directions from the west?
Should NATO wanted involvement, they would of done it already.
US especially has 0 interest to fight itself, remember the Polish migs scandal, when all US was… no we dont want to send the planes from our miliary base :).
But… NATO, sorry US actually wants to put others to continue fighting Russia to ”weaken” it.They have no problem in sacrificing Ukrainians, Romanians etc, you name it.
Romanians are so slave they pay so much to US, have so many bases and no waver visa to us – this kind of politicians Romania has, good only to sell the country to others in their bid to make some dough for themselves, lots.
So yes, they try eversince war started to involve Romania. Romanians dont want. They did lots of provocations, Ukies: they put down a Romanian Mig and a Puma, they entered the space woith some planes, they send the drones, they even try that thing with Transnistiria, which was meant to involve Moldova and of course Romania.
They try but we dont want it, the war. Maybe some NATO soldiers will dress Romanian and will do some things to try involve Romanians, we still dont want it, we have little soldiers, population… please people will not fight, nor they have the posibility. Progressists lefties are weak and scared, good only to fight behind the laptop, lots of others are … obese – we really have this problem and lots of people with many issues, so who will fight, really???
Yes, US wants to sacrifice Romania , president wants this, he did that traison without public knowledge nor parliament etc knowledge, was a traison yes, but nope, they will not manage to put Romania in this war.
Take a while guess which Germany’s ally had the most soldiers on the Eastern front during WW2?
Romanians, yes, I know. BUT: back then all Romanian men did service, Army was mandatory.
Also, people had land, it was different.
Now we only have an army of a few thousands. Mens didn’t do serevice in the Army, impossible to fight a war.
Also many Romanian men are somewhere in Europe workingm they still have Romanian ID’s, but are established somewhere else. In need they will remain there!
Romanian villages are empty, almost only eldery.
Take a look at this Romanian professional military: 35 yo, kinda looks like 50, is very chubby and was crushed by a tanc in poligon during some operations, he guided the tanc that crushed him.
It was a tragedy, but you can see how the average 30 yo Romanian look like now, totally out of shape, looking older.
https://www.bihon.ro/stiri-internationale/romania/incident-dramatic-in-poligonul-de-la-galati-un-militar-a-fost-zdrobit-de-un-tanc-cine-era-plutonierul-decedat-3946784/
We have fitness fatatics, but full of steroids and anyway, not fit for war.
We don’t have the men we had during ww2!!! And is sad, I really hope one day we will recover, but for the moment, we dont have: the will, the reason (country is sold out so what to defend, the fortunes of our oligarchs and the fortunes of foreigners that have lots of everything including all economic sectors?)
Ukrainians had only 8 years of ”freedom” so some were eager to fight, but us, after 30 plus years we know we are very dissapointed and as I said, we don’t have the Army from ww2. Nor the desire, the will, the love for the country people had back then.
Totally different situation, we are close to a demographic disaster, more children were born out of Romania than inside last year, they will not come back! We are the second country as for the no of migrants after Siria and we were not at war, many all they want is leave the country because of the corruption and so on, who will fight as also people dont want it
Nice. RF can then kill two birds with one stone.
Ukie grunts in super double bind ….surrender as war criminals or get shot by ‘trainers’ or ‘contractors’ for desertion.
My guess it’s too early in phase 2 for a widespread capitulation at the theater level…depends IF it’s true that every Kiev formation has political officers embedded to insure loyalty at the end of a bayonet. Does anyone want to believe at a Brigade HQ, the local Col. And Majors are going to mutiny against their NATO commanders ?
What is more likely is entire battalions and companies of regular army will surrender as a unit. Last week we saw a few 1,000 person group surrenders plus lots of 100 person surrenders. Volksturm ? – likely to see lots of units capitulating PDQ.
Don’t expect any Kiev unit to capitulate in the Odessa or Lemberg regions. The most likely units to surrender are those that have been close to 90 days in continuous action – these are (estimated to be)
92nd Mech
93rd Mech
53rd Mech
54th Mech
56th Motorized
The 17th Tank May have been throughly mauled at the infamous river crossing, but that’s all unconfirmed fog-of-war stuff. Besides the 17th hasn’t see much action, seems to have been held in reserve.
Some Kiev units which are marginal candidates for capitulation are:
57th Motorized
58th Mech
28th Mech
That’s only 5 brigades on verge of collapse out of 25 regular army combat brigades. So let’s not get too ahead of ourselves – collapse of the entire cauldron will happen soon enough, just not this week.
for a widespread theater level capitulation to occur these things must happen
1) Kiev Theater level Generals concludes their men are being used as cannon fodder by NATO
2) NATO commanders of Kiev Military sidelined or arrested or ?
3) theater level generals have some trust in their Allied counterparts
One thing that is a big unspoken factor is the probable presence of Russian spies ‘all over’ the Ukrainian government, even in the Ukrainian secret services and military. In WWII, the German head of Intelligence, Wilhelm Canaris, was accused of working for the Soviets and executed late in 1945. When the Hunter Biden controversy was at its height, Putin said on TV that Hunter had several business deals in Ukraine – not just one or two as everyone was discussing at the time. The media did not pursue it, but he said it. He likely has spies all over the place in Ukraine…
Many German Generals, Otto Skorzeny too, wrote that the Soviets knew everything about their plans. Skorzeny wrote that between June and December/1941, the Soviets lost even though they always knew the German plans, that when a change was made at the last minute the devastation was much larger. Rusia has a lot of experience in such spying.
That’s the thing about these kind of wars. Things go slowly. There’s give and take. Then things go quickly when one side finally reaches its breaking point.
There are no Russian spies, only information carriers. Peacekeepers if you like.
I should know as they wanted to recruit me but I failed the test on drinking with a loose mouth and the honey trap. Darn I was top of the class in poisons, code and shot.
Previous applicants need not apply.
The entire Russian military force in the Ukraine could easily be accommodated by a football stadium and its parking lot. That force is in a region the size of Texas. I think the Russians are doing very well considering the amount of troops dealing with a large and fortified area. Anyone thinking this operation would be completed in a number of weeks is certainly not thinking too deeply.
Of course Russia is dealing with Ukraine using a very small minority of its forces. They have to stay alert for the (almost expected) treacherous stab in the back by NATO.
A judoka always preserves his balance, which means (among other things) never leaning too far in any direction.
Apparently the deal to take wounded of Azovstal to DPR hospitals is done.
I wonder what are the conditions agreed too because the sputnik report used words ” Humanitarian corridor” ” will watch them from far”
I hope this is not one of the green busses of Syria scenario .
The green bus should NEVER be an option,it was a massive mistake in Syria, therewere never any greed bus optins for any SAA just a butchers knife.
From the Russian MoD:
On May 16, as a result of negotiations with representatives of Ukrainian servicemen blocked at the Azovstal Iron and Steel Works in Mariupol, an agreement was reached to evacuate the wounded.
At present, ceasefire regime was established in the area of the enterprise and a humanitarian corridor was opened, through which wounded Ukrainian servicemen were transported to a medical facility in Novoazovsk, Donetsk People’s Republic, to provide them with all necessary assistance.
An agreement was reached with representatives of the Ukrainian military blocked at Azovstal in Mariupol on the removal of the wounded, a cease fire was introduced and a humanitarian corridor was opened through which the wounded Ukrainian soldiers were taken to the hospital in Novoazovsk (DPR) – Russian Defense Ministry
That is, of course, if they come out…
So can you clarify regarding WHAT SIDE is holding the Canadian general and now the British, US admiral and Turkish officers coming out of Avostal?
I thought that the Canadian general was caught trying to leave with the hostages. Do the Russians have him? Will they get future surrendering Avostal officers and mercenaries? Or will the Red Cross or some other hostile group get them and release them?
3 videos show Azovstal personnel dressed as citizens, even cross dressed! picked up because of gun bruises, gunpowder and tattoos at a humanitarian corridor, and actually trying to crawl through a field. The Canadian was caught in a sewer pipe, apparently.
To early to say, but not a fly will get through the net. Pre-Trial discovery at Russia’s leisure.
Are you the real Michael Hudson? If so I would like to comment later.
I think that it speaks well of Russian humanitarian intent that they would agree to allow the wounded to be removed from the Azovstal plant. Pretty remarkable considering the viciousness that these fighters have displayed.
I agree with the fog of war comments. Russia is clearly winning Removed. (You and any other commenter does not know what Russia’s plans are and how long they will take. Please everyone stop with any timing comments – you don’t know.) Mod.
We need to be patient and wait for results.
“The devastation of Ukraine. Real prospects of mobilization and war” – a recent article by the observer of Ukrainian events Ishchenko.
“Judging by the latest reports from the Ukrainian front and from the Ukrainian rear, the long-awaited disintegration of the Ukrainian army has begun. … The task of the war, which the United States initially considered lost by Kiev, was to completely destroy the Southeast and destroy as many Ukrainians as possible so that Russia would literally get a scorched earth with a rare population in a state of humanitarian catastrophe…”.
Read completely – https://cutt.us/jcaqg
That wasn’t anybody’s task! (Not that far, not so much!) That is a pure supposition on his part. I don’t know how he is such a big star over there. He errs all the time in my opinion.
It is possible that all astrologers, forecasters, stock analysts, economists, political observers are strong only in hindsight. They do not predict the future, but explain what has already happened. In addition, do not forget about propaganda. Maybe he’s also a part-time propagandist. After all, reports that the enemy gives up or complains raise the emotional mood of the people. And reports that allies are unreliable reduce the emotional mood of the people of the enemy country.
Thanks, “propagandists”, I think so. There are “strange people” everywhere too (makes me feel a little better).
I assume that everyone writing on the Internet is “strange people”. One psychologist wrote: “We communicate on social networks with our own hallucinatory images, in fact, and not with other people at all”.
Another psychologist wrote about people in power: “If their activities consist of direct contact on a small social scale, their acquaintances easily perceive them as eccentrics, which limits their ponerogenic role. However, if they manage to hide their own personality behind the written word, their influence may poison the minds of society on a large scale and for a long time” – https://www.sott.net/article/467640-21st-century-schizoid-man
If you read the actual article, you will see that Ishchenko’s claim actually pertains to the West’s goals for the war.
Namely, the West has long recognized that Kiev wouldn’t win an actual war, so Kiev’s “task”, the aim of its defence strategy was/is to minimize its territorial losses and to turn whatever territory it was forced to concede to Russia into a wasteland.
The outcome of all that would be a rump West Ukraine de facto and de jure in the West’s hand, and a ruined East Ukraine. Its population and infrastructure destroyed, the Russians would be hard-pressed to rebuild over many years while the West’s portion would emerge relatively unscathed.
All in all, not an unreasonable strategy, but the Russians saw it coming.
By taking the initiative and attacking on multiple fronts Russia upended the West’s strategy. East Ukraine has taken less abuse than the West, and with the impending collapse of its Donbas grouping, Ukraine is poised to lose a lot more territory than the West bargained for. Perhaps so much more that what’s left to them is more trouble than it’s worth.
The war party’s goal in Washington is to grab as much of that $40 billion aid package as possible. The war party is going to town with this conflict. They are lovin’ it big time
Question – if the war party is making bank from this conflict, how does it eventually end ?
That wasn’t anybody’s task! That is a pure supposition on his part. Unrealistic.
“Many Rumors and not enough Facts”
From inception “We the people hold these truths to be self-evident” has rendered not knowing to be an embarassment/non-conformance, thereby encouranging speculations in attempts of obfuscation of such embarassment/non-conformance by many.
Consequently not distributing enough “facts” to opponents has utility for those not immersed in “We the people hold these truths to be self-evident”, including, but not limited to, facilitating the complicity of those so immersed in their own transcendence by their construction of, and reliance upon speculations based on few “facts”.
The embarassed/non-conformers are controlled/encouraged by illusions of “if the Papa Czar (people) knew, things would be different” facilitating unfocused wasteful effort of the embarassment/non-conformance by many – a thumbnail of how the coercive social relations self-misrepresented as “The United States of America” has been and is facilitated in part by emotional responses.
In conjunction with the massive inflow of weapons and funding to the VSU the involvement of NATO directly in support of the VSU is likely to increase in response to RF and DPR territorial advances in Eastern Ukraine. NATO and the West are confident that the Zelensky regime is now programmed to resist to the last Ukrainian as it seeks to mobilise and re-equip and re-arm a million new conscripts to throw into the conflict against Russia. The West will exhaust every Ukrainian resource both human and material to extend and prolong this conflict indefinitely in order to sustain and refresh the objectives of its propaganda blitz and hyper war against Russia. If NATO is successful in maintaining the combat capability of the VSU despite its losses for the foreseeable future then one aim of the SMO the demilitarisation of Ukraine will have failed. Currently Russia occupies an extended area of Ukraine on the eastern borderlands with Russia and the Black Sea. But Ukraine’s hinterland is huge providing enormous scope to retreat into much as the Russians did in WW2 against the
Wehrmacht fighting on multiple fronts to weaken and overextend the limited Russian forces advancing west. The challenge still remains for RF and DPR to destroy this combat capability before NATO can organise, command and sustain it indefinitely,
Eight years wasn’t enough…..so are you saying it will take another eight years to rearm them? Will Russia give them eight more years……they’ll be lucky if Rumpcraine exists in eight months.
Cheers M
“In conjunction with the massive inflow of weapons and funding to the VSU”
How do you know these weapons are a) even getting to the encircled VSU forces and are b) actually useable
If they were useable why would the Ukie regime issue an edict saying the VSU must not criticise the useless western supplied weapons? In any case. aren’t the VSU losing weapons faster than the west can supply them?
“the involvement of NATO directly in support of the VSU is likely to increase”
Where is your evidence for that?
And why haven’t they done so before now?
“it seeks to mobilise and re-equip and re-arm a million new conscripts”
And where are these million new conscripts going to be found?
“But Ukraine’s hinterland is huge providing enormous scope to retreat into”
Russia cam bomb any part of Ukraine. There is nowhere for the VSU to retreat into.
Wishful thinking is no substitute for facts.
We need to stop freaking out about (gasp!) Ukrainians on the Russian border.
a casual perusal of a map of the Ukraine will reveal that Ukrainians have been on the Russian border at least since the end of Phase I.
The reorientation of Russian forces to the Donbass front returned a large section of the border to Ukrainian control.
The Ukrainian spoiling attack, north of Kharkov, is not adding a threat to Russia proper that didn’t already exist, if it exists at all.
While it is always disconcerting when friendly forces have to fall back, it is not a cause for panic. It appears that the Russian General Staff is unconcerned. Given the deplorable logistics situation that the Ukraine suffers from, it is likely that this spoiling attack will run out of what little steam it had.
Yeah, this looks too good to be true. The more likely scenario is for the wounded being evacuated but a sizable chunk of the men in Azovstal staying there to fight. Nonetheless, it would be a sight to behold to see a couple of thousand men emerging from the bunkers with a white flag.
If something like this is really about to happen, then I hope Russia takes lots and lots of pictures and videos to capitalize on this the most they can. It could be the thing which finally mindbreaks the men fighting in Donbass too.
Removing away the wounded will free up the Azov and boost their morale. Also food and medicine can be extended for longer period.
At some point Russia will probably ask for the surrender of all or none. Once every one surrenders they might take the important guys with them back to the catacombs to ensure that the place is clear of any more Azov and clear of booby traps.
Scott Ritter is somewhat more clear in terms of what he is worried about.
He still says the SMO will be over in days if not weeks, but his worry is what then? I don’t think he understands the Russians as much as he thinks he does (this is not meant to be criticism – just observation). This is about the balance of security and Russia will not step one step back.
Anyway, see what you think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lI95DKyNnXg
Scott Ritter was en expert on Russia before being a weapon inspector
I think you will find that that is erroneous. But anyway, I am not so interested in what he is.
I was interested because on the 13th he said the SMO is almost over, on the 15th he said all is lost. And today he says the SMO is almost over, but all is lost in any event.
That is my only interest.
Our own communists went hysterical because of a cronicle by Julia Latynina about WWII. The same will happen in Russia. Of course the Russians will understand themselves, but face a problem understanding West. I have a problem myself about West. “Nazism” is about understanding West.
AKA over 20 years ago. He was a Soviet specialist, not a modern Russian one.
Scott Ritter was taken aback by the “fact” of US artillery units having arrived at the front lines. I say “fact” because there’s no documented evidence that is the case, only a picture of one Howitzer somewhere in Ukraine which was claimed to be at the front at the same time as artillery bombardment of the Russian pontoon bridge. I think the likelihood is that it was Ukrainians own artillery. But even if it was that provided by the US, it is hardly a game changer.
This is better :
SATURDAY MORNING LIVE WITH SCOTT RITTER AND RAY MCGOVERN
https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=m4SlSILtlpc&feature=emb_logo
Now Putin says Finland,Sweden are not a problem, unless of course NATO infrastructure turns up at the border. McGovern and Ritter there talk about the previous INF Treaties.
Ritter is correct that Donbass Cauldron will be liberated by the Allies by mid-June. Cleaning up deadenders might take until mid-July.
However, Ritter is incorrect in thinking completion of Phase 2 ends the conflict. The War Party is escalating this into a long multi-year global war. Bet next year the War Party undertakes a glorious Counter Offensive in Ukraine.
Trump was selected by US generals. Today it seems like Pentagon still doesn’t accept Biden as Commander-in-chief.
@amarynth
Methinks that Scott is involuntary tool. He is well connected and informed via friends in US military. It is childs play for spooks to fed him with disinfo at certain point. Lloyd Austin’s phone call to Shoigu indicates that such point is reached. From now on, I will take everything that Scott is saying with grain of salt.
I still think he is a good guy, but in untenable position. Spooks had him in the in the pipe, five by five, from the moment he was banned.
Great loss.
Having said that also think he is wrongfully accused for saying some things he actually didn’t. He said that Russia is depleting its high tech arsenal faster than it can rearm, and that will be huge problem when US $40 billion in arms and men arrives. Which is good observation. His error is in the fact that he doesn’t know Russian production capacities but readily underestimates it. ( this is disinfo he swallowed).
Putin and Xi talked long and wide before SMO. It is quite possible that multiple missile factories are opened somewhere in far East with Russian know-how and Chinese capital and machinery.
Would Putin give NATO “non”-ultimatum without such preparation? Yes, if he is raving lunatic as Western media say.
The fact is he is not. So Russia MUST have more than enough capacity to replace spent missiles. We (&CIA) just do not know anything about it. But they are not idiots, they suspect. Or better, fear.
Ukraine is cat and mouse game where US faint its own innability to step into war openly, probing Russians with pawn proxy armies.
Russia faint its military weakness, trying to lure NATO in open conflict close to its borders. In range of near limitless Iskanders and Onyxes. While Zircons and Kinzhals destroy NATO logistic in the EU and beyond.
So far, Anglos doesn’t swallow the bait. But they will have to, eventualy. Economic situation is deteriorating. In one moment, they will have to go for a break, or to deal with their own angry mob. That’s why I do not see possibility for diplomatic solution. Not durable one.
Judging by firepower involved, this is the biggest war in history. It can’t and won’t be over in couple of months. Hope for only years but not decades.
If someone doesn’t decide to call it a day, and go full nuclear.
Yeah, regarding Ritter, I think he is off my list as a serious source. He may be knowledgeable but I can do without loose cannons right at the moment.
I heard Ritter expressly state in a recent interview that he no longer has any inside contacts but relies on open source information and his own professional knowledge gained through experience
“From now on, I will take everything that Scott is saying with grain of salt.”
I came to the same conclusion a few months ago. However, he does have some interesting historical knowledge.
How is what Scott Ritter said different from what you said (“This is about the balance of security and Russia will not step one step back.”)?
Scott clearly communicated that Russia would not allow a new, rejuvenated, Ukraine to be a Russia’s neighbor once the SMO in Donbass is concluded. He says Russia will declare a total war on Ukraine, which means there will be no Ukraine east, not west, from the Dnieper river.
What is it that Scott does not understand about the Russians?
“What is it that Scott does not understand about the Russians?”
Nothing.
I so not understand how military professional foresee million men army armed with new western weapons defeating Russian forces in Ukraine.
●Ukraine was prepared for 8 years by NATO and formed forces of ~1/4 million men at price of $60 billion. On top of Ukraine regular income that is nonexistent now. West support Ukraine government with $5billion /month. $40billion package will last only 8 months just for keep government alive.
●Weapons and ammo was cheap or already owned from USSR times. Basicaly free.
●Ukraine is depleted of military aged or capable men, due to emmigration and losses in this war.
Morale is bottom low. How will they mobilize 3-4 times more men than before, in such condition, is beyond me.
●If they do succed, that army will have to ATTACK Russians. In open field, without protection of civilian shield and city walls. Everything that tormented Russians for 80 days, will fall on the army of teenagers and pensioners. They will be slaughtered like Tennyson’s Light Brigade.
Scott knows all that perfectly. He overestimated force multiplayer of Western still virtual weapons and willingness of UK/US to invest huge amount of hard cash in lost cause.
I believe, he also underestimated Russian regeneration capability. Russians would never start SMO unprepared for WW3 that is in the making. Ukraine is insignificant in comparison. There are many things we do not know.
From China we still can only hear deafening silence.
How the ukies reached the Russian border :)
They took a painted border pole, dug it into the ground ad made photos and videos declaring successful counter offensive.
Sorry bu in Russian only.
https://topwar.ru/196351-ukrainskie-boeviki-sami-zasnjali-kak-prinesli-pogranichnyj-stolb-v-popytke-vydat-jeto-kak-vyhod-na-granicu-rf.html
CNN is still showing the photo on the front. BBC had stopped. :)
They say the date in the video, April 15. Old news.
Even if the UAF could cross the Russian border what are they going to be able to accomplish when they get there? A few airstrikes would send them back home.
I disagree with you. A few airstrikes would leave them exactly there…..forever!
It’s Nepotism that’s got us all here, rudderless, up shit creek without a paddle, swimming against the tide with our legs bound together.
If the Great Unwashed could just understand that those leading us to war, sorry, have led us into war, have nothing to lose; they’re where they are due to decades of mismanagement of the economy and personal greed. While we/us ordinary lemmings gain nothing from their victory, however hollow or unlikely, they still pad their pensions/investment portfolios from the sale of armaments delivered to the/any battlefield on any pretence over some fictitious enemy; worse still our cost of living will rise to pay for their excesses. So it’s win/win for them lose/lose more for us. Heads they win, tails we lose.
OK so Nepotism. Is it any wonder that the same entitled incompetents who are a constant fixture, part of the furniture Establishment sitting comfortably in their moated castles in the Shires and never get held to account? That burden falls upon whichever installed bought and paid lackey politician/Government are brought in to do their bidding.
The recruiting grounds of Oxford & Cambridge University is where you’ll find their off-spring, the next batch of leaders ready to assume their junior/mid level posts above all other entrants who may be much smarter but not blue blooded enough and thus can never be fully trusted in the decision making higher echelons of the for life career in the Civil Service, Banks, Public Corporations, Armed Forces, MI6, Law Courts, Westminster and House of Lords. Imperially spoon fed cradle to grave, unaccountable no matter how incompetent or treasonous.
You only have to look at the 3rd rate political salesmen/women running this European pay-per-view twitter fed amateur armchair theatre dramatics – BoJo the Ringmaster and part-time clown, Truss, the milf who suffers severe back spasms having slept her way up the ladder (I suppose she’s more honest than all the other whores )- Scholzenstern & Baerencrantz, 2 mime glove puppets who willingly, wilfully, shepherd the flock blindly over the mountain top to their certain demise – Macron, Le Pen, the Illusion of Choice, one a Rothschild self serving toad, the other an Israeli bought & paid for stooge – Toss in the Unelected Representatives cherry picked in the art of persuasion and there we have it, a recipe for the Dictatorship we’ve longed for. We deserve.
Why are you calling Truss a whore? Does it make you feel more like a man to abuse and degrade women thid way? How weak.
You forget she takes instructions from a philandering lying man leading what’s left of the UK. Why do you single women out with such disgusting words of abuse. Please stop
Chasity in a woman is a sign of good breeding and civilization my friend – it’s been that way for 10,000 years.
So is honour in a man.
And virtue in both.
“…she takes instructions from a philandering lying man…”
So as WTFUD stated, a whore. Most definitely. And shameless whore.
I’ve known quite a few male whores. Many of them politicians.
I think this is what WTFUD meant about Liz Truss:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7169113/The-army-majors-son-affair-Liz-Truss-planted-kiss-Jeremy-Hunts-wife.html
“His first marriage ended in divorce in 2006, with wife Michele citing his affair with an ambitious Tory councillor named Liz Truss.
Three years later, the affair became news when Truss was selected for the safe seat of South West Norfolk. Senior local Tories claimed they learned of the affair only after they had chosen Truss.”
IMHO women are far worse than men, just look at the females in the EU. Look at Thatcher, May and Truss – pure evil.
– the other an Israeli bought & paid for stooge
The poverty level in Israel is such they have 20% of what the Finn get as unemployment benefit. They cannot even pay own PM a decent wage … and of course neither foreign PMs. Golda Meir had a tiny appartment, where cabinet meetings were held, in the kitchen I assume.
It is unbelievable what people assume.
These are Russian MOD briefings on:
Snake Island
https://t.me/mod_russia_en/1533
Pontoon bridge
https://t.me/mod_russia_en/1429
So the Russians said they destroyed the Ukie pontoon bridge and the units on both sides of the river, but many here say they believe the Ukies when they said THEY destroyed the “Russian” bridge and a “Russian battalion” there.
It’s not about “fog of war” since the Russians talked about the pontoon bridge and showed videos, but more about cognitive dissonance on the commenters here who don’t believe the Russians.
Keep in mind that there are multiple bridges.
If the Allied report on the river crossing is correct – then likely scratch the 17th Tank off Kiev’s order of battle for a long while.
A very big deal. Kiev only has 2 Tank brigades in regular army. The rest of its tank brigades are reserve units.
Surferket, I have no skin on either side’s truth, but based on Ukrainian audacity in distortion, I have long chosen Russian to be more honest. Gonzalo Lira had videos on how Ukraine had filmed PR videos, before he was arrested by Ukraine, by destroyed Ukrainian tanks painted as Russians, Ukrainian destroyed houses, and own womanfolks to accuse Russia. You need to view them. Here are two recent Ukrainian masterpieces:

Who wants to tell them?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gG1prld0bAA
Trust yourself and just look at what the photos from the pontoon site actually show. Use your own eyes and don’t get distracted by accompanying blurbs telling you what you’re supposed to be looking at. Don’t take my word either, btw. Study the photos yourself.
Up to 34 of the 73 vehicles are early model BMP-1’s that the Russians no longer use (and they’re not LPR either, see below).
There’s also a lot of MT-LB’s, a type far more common in Ukrainian forward units than in Russian ones. One MT-LB is identified as a uniquely Ukrainian ambulance version.
Most of the bridging/engineering vehicles are on the Ukrainian side of the river.
Only a couple of vehicles have tactical symbols on them, most of them do not. The ones that do are also the ones that appear to be active and not destroyed/damaged/abandoned. They have an ‘O’ painted on, which marks them as recent Russian arrivals on the front. The LPR does not use the ‘O’ marking on their vehicles.
Clearly the crossing in the photos is a Ukrainian one, with a large number of Ukrainian losses (many vehicles seem to be abandoned though, not destroyed) depicted. They likely used this crossing as early as a month ago already, possibly sooner even, to resupply their units operating north of the river. At some point they used it as a for a (failed) counter attack north of the river. The losses we see are not from one engagement/day, but have accumulated over the time the pontoons were in use.
There is a small number of Russian vehicles (likely canvassing/securing the site) intermingled with them. Those probably came across using one of the other (Russian made) pontoons in that general area (but which are not on the photos).
It’s possible that a few of the losses are indeed Russian as the region has seen heavy fighting since may 4th, and some of it may have occurred here against remnants of the Ukrainian force. it’s also quite possible that there’s not a single knocked out Russian vehicle in these photos.
Here’s a report on US mercenaries killed in fighting over a Ukie town.
“🇷🇺🇺🇦 Consequences of the battles for Rubizhne. Drone view. The scale of destruction is very serious.
It was also reported this morning that the defense of Rubizhne was led by American and Polish military advisers.
It was also reported yesterday that 7 US citizens were killed in Rubizhne during the fighting.”

A few musings on the crisis:
1. A spokesperson in the British regime has said that the British people suffering over the regime created economic hardships just need to “work more or get better jobs”. So in other words,”hey you plebs don’t cry to us over the problems we caused.Get off you lazy butts and work harder”. The old “let them eat cake” was so 18th century to be used now,so they changed their message a bit. I’m not sure how that is going to endear them to the population in the UK. But to paraphrase another well know saying.I don’t think they “give a damn” what their people think or not.
https://www.rt.com/news/555558-uk-cost-living-minister/
2. Russia is allowing the wounded from Azovstal to be evacuated to a hospital in another area of the DPR. So I guess they were tired of seeing the Azov nazis whining on the internet about needing medical care and is letting them get it. Had the nazis just asked for their wounded to be evacuated to a hospital (not in Ukrainian or NATO controlled territory) that could have been done weeks ago. But they wanted to pretend that somehow they would get rescued by somebody, anybody, and didn’t get the message until now no help was coming to save them.Hopefully this means it won’t be too long until the rest of them surrender and get this all over in Mariupol.
https://www.rt.com/russia/555560-injured-troops-evacuation-azovstal/
3. There is a lot of circumstantial evidence, and rumors floating around on Twitter. And other sites about high ranking NATO officers being captured or surrendering from Azovstal to Russian or LDNR forces. There are even a few grainy pictures purported to be this or that officer. I really hope these claims are right. I’d love to see those baddies in prison. But there is not a peep coming from Russia about that. So I’m afraid all that is maybe just more “fog of war”. The LDNR forces don’t seem to be as tightlipped as the Russians much of the time. So if there is truth to those stories maybe they’ll spill the beans and we will find out if its true or not.
4. There seems to be a rising tide of voices on the pro-Russian side starting to complain that there are not enough troops deployed to do the job in Ukraine before NATO’s massive infusion of arms starts to have an effect. I’ve heard that even a reliable voice like Scott Ritter is worried about that. That he’s afraid that even when Russia secures Donbass and possibly even Odessa. That the Ukrainians in central Ukraine will be so strengthened by NATO weapons equipment. Russia might not be able to overcome them with such limited forces as they have now. There are other voices that aren’t sure about that being an issue. But frankly that is a concern that I share as well. To secure the areas liberated now will take for a while a large number of troops. And unless the numbers are increased that will be a real problem in making the advances necessary to complete the mission of demilitarization and denazification. Without accomplishing those things NATO will fully rearm a revanchist minded nazi regime in Kiev or Lvov and the war will continue.
6. McDonalds is finally officially leaving Russia. They are selling their stores to Russian interests. Now is that just a ruse, and they would still operate them through stooges,I can’t say. But at least officially the stores will be operating under a new name. And the employee’s will not lose their jobs. So to me that looks like a win for Russia.
https://www.rt.com/business/555544-mcdonalds-says-do-svidaniya-moscow/
7.The EU trying to team up with Israel and Turkey to get Israeli (really much of it Palestinian,Lebanese, and Syrian I think) gas coming through Turkey. Next time we hear about Turkey not being fully NATO think about that. That also might account for why the Israelis are now supporting Ukraine more. They and the,”I’m a Muslim brother to Palestine” Turkey teaming up should be a tell all to everyone here about the real story with Turkey. BTW they will not vote against Finland and Sweden joining NATO all that talk is just BS,count on it.

8. And lastly a little really great news. China tells the G7 to pound sand. They totally rejected the G7 demands that China join them in anti-Russian sanctions. And told the G7 to clean up their own act before lecturing them. As a reminder the G7 countries all total are only slightly half of China’s population by itself.

“NATO’s massive infusion of arms starts to have an effect”.
Can’t help but wonder how nato plan to get all these weapons plus the thousands of tons of ammunition and spare parts from Poland to the beleaguered VSU.
Then we have to consider what will be Russia’s response to seeing vast convoys of weapons trundling across Ukraine.
So far Russia has left a couple of railway lines open for humanitarian reasons but that could change.
Yavorov comes to mind but, we shall see.
Sounds like “the massive infusion of wonder weapons” is a fantasy being spread by the west to keep the VSU fighting and hoping that a miracle is going to happen and turn the war round. In other words – hopium – a cruel deception.
As I see it the Ukrainian army are being abused and ruthlessly exploited by the west in what is a hopeless cause.
4) In order for NATO-USUK successfully to resupply the Ukrainian military with heavy equipment, they would need to confront Russia’s air forces in order to create a no-fly zone and I doubt they would risk it. Russia’s air superiority was demonstrated in Syria. That heavy equipment most likely is destined to get blown up before it reaches the battle zones, as some shipments already have been destroyed (along with personnel). Russia’s air power and long range missiles can reach any part of Ukraine (and beyond, if necessary). Then there’s the impossibility of Ukie fuel resupply needed to mobilize — they can’t run on stored fuel indefinitely.
Some interesting musings, Uncle Bob. The main interest in Avostal now is surely not the fate of the rabble of Banderistas holed up there, but that of the large number of rumoured western military. I think you are too cautious about the credibility of the reports of the latest alleged captures. The fact that an American admiral and British colonel were actually named, to me makes these rumours or reports likely to be true. I found a good summary of the previous captures of generals Cloutier and Cadieu here https://johnplatinumgoss.com/2022/05/09/lieutenant-general-trevor-cadieu-and-azovstal/. After the initial denials of the “fact checkers” we’ve heard nothing, which to me indicates they are indeed in Russian hands. As to why Russia would not publicise this, I can think of a number of reasons. They will want to question them as to what they were up to t and this is much easier if there is not a hullabaloo in the western press. Their presence is highly embarrassing for western regimes, so they for their part they have no motive to publicise it,and will hope to negotiate their quiet release in exchange for Russian prisoners. I sincerely hope Russia does not fall for this. It seems that for all western regimes the only wars they really feel they must win – if the PR one. For Russia, that’s probably just fine. They can achieve whatever objectives they want and then allow American and European presstitutes to trumpet a “victory” to allow their masters to save face. Again, I think this would be a mistake. NATO needs to have its collective nose rubbed in an undeniable defeat, for the sake of their own people, so this military adventurism is stopped in its tracks before the morons who supposedly rule us bring about a nuclear Armageddon.
…captured western military beauties probably will be put on public military trial in the Russia and maybe later on exchange for russian military ppl…..

About McDonalds, on TASS I read that all McDonald restaurants will be sold to Russian businesmen (“they can’t stay in Russia, because of “morals”), but that they in June will start up a new chain, with the same concept, only new name:
“A source in the company told TASS earlier, “McDonald’s will return to Russia under a new brand in June, keeping the restaurant chain and the menu, as well as jobs. More than 90% of suppliers are Russian, work with them will continue. In fact, only the name will change”. https://tass.com/economy/1451505“
Here’s a new report on evacuation of wounded Ukies to DNR for treatment.
“🇷🇺🇺🇦❗❗ All the wounded from “Azovstal” are taken to Novoazovsk.
An agreement was reached with representatives of the Ukrainian military blocked at Azovstal in Mariupol on the removal of the wounded, a cease fire was introduced and a humanitarian corridor was opened through which the wounded Ukrainian soldiers were taken to the hospital in Novoazovsk (DPR) – Russian Defense Ministry”

One point that is not discussed enough:-
– the UKR troops fight are EVERYTHING UKR has, there is nothing more to call on. They are fully mobilized. Contrast with Russia partial mobilization, not on war footing
If Russia grinds UKR troops there are no more out there. Russia can also 100,000 trained troops, UKR can’t
Russia has bulk of its army outside UKR
That is a threat and s deterrent
NATO obviously can and will reinforce but it is not certain they will fully enter this war if they do then not over committing now may be wise, though they need more troops on ground

This is fundamentally a war of liberation.
It is not about annihilating Ukrainian soldiers, but liberating them from their yoke in the service of the Ukrainian oligarchy and transnational mega-interests.
And generate the conditions for them to surrender or desert, even if they have to eliminate their superiors preventing them from doing so.
Example: https://t.me/vicktop55/3884
It is not a matter of razing entire cities to the ground, reducing them to rubble, but of liberating their populations, rescuing them from the cellars, providing food and medical assistance.
And thus save the civilians who have been turned into human shields, so that they can recover their lives and get involved in rebuilding their cities.
Example: https://t.me/rtdocfilms/52
This is not about Russia liberating the territories of the Donbass People’s Republics, but about providing the indispensable military support for them to do this themselves.
Freedom cannot be given, much less bought. Authentic freedom is won as a result of a war of liberation.
Example: https://t.me/rtdocfilms/20
It is not even about defeating the USA, but about helping to liberate its population from the clutches of an Imperium grinding everything and everyone into its satanic mills.
The most powerful and deadly empire that has ever existed. A global oligarchy condemning the planet to imminent extinction.
Of this Imperium we are all prisoners, including Russia itself through the hundreds of billionaires who own a large part of its economy.
This is a war against slavery and for emancipation. To the soldiers directly involved in it, our eternal gratitude.

MoA seems unreachable at the moment – anyone else having this trouble?
Glad to see the Azovstal injured are going to DPR.
I wonder why the Russians have not beheaded the Ukrainian government. Wouldn´t that cause the collapse of the Ukranian army?. They have control of the skies and they have bunker buster bombs.
Perhaps strikes on government buildings in Kiev are not being carried out due to the fact that the so-called “Government of Ukraine” is actually located on the territory of another state, for example Poland. Former Ukrainian parliamentarian Kiva writes that ZZZelensky is not in Kiev – https://donbasstoday.ru/naczionalisty-ustroyat-perevorot-i-zaberut-zapadnuyu-ukrainu-eks-nardep-ilya-kiva / I will make a reservation that you should not consider Kivu an official source and information about the preparation of a coup in Kiev is only his assumptions, as a private person.
When it comes to “Russian losses” it’s necessary to remember figures of DPR and LPR. This is their own report of losses:
DPR:
“The Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) is reporting as of 5 May that they had 1,622 soldiers killed and 6,525 wounded (4.02-to-1 wounded-to-killed ratio) out of a supposed strength of 20,000. This is 41% casualties out of an estimated force of 20,000, which is pretty serious.”
Total: 8,547 until 5 May
LPR:
” Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) is reported as of 5 April to have had 500-600 killed out of an estimated force of 14,000. This is 21% casualties, assuming a 4-to-1 killed ratio. Don’t know how many of DPR and LPR forces are Russians from Russia as opposed to locals.”
More likely LPR has lost until 5 May around 800-900 deaths and 3,500-4,000 wounded.
Total losses of DPR/LPR until 5 May: 13,000 – 13,500
It’s little bit odd that no armies (RAF, UAF, DPR and LPR) are giving vital numbers of MIA, missing in action. Actually this has always been quite important and revealing part of military personal losses. Because everytime when army has really been run over and badly mauled they have lots of MIA cases.
It’s seems to be that has not happened much in Ukraine. This is not WW2 kind of warfare. More likely especially in Donbas another WW1 trech bunker warfare with slow move. STALEMATE.
Geez, do we really need to debunk this every other thread?
The listed strength numbers of the DPR (20.000) and LPR (14.000) date back to BEFORE they started calling up reserves starting mid February. There are no official figures as to their strength since then, which is why people keep using these outdated and misleading numbers.
Based on population size, the DPR likely has a potential somewhere around 100.000 man, and the LPR of around 70.000 men. Neither has called up anywhere close to that number though. Current strength is probably around half of that for each
Not all of those are reservists either. All those ‘volunteers’ we hear about that join, don’t go to Russian units, but to the LPR and DPR. Some go individually or in small groups and join existing formations of their hosts, in other cases they come with their own formations (an Ossetian battalion, an Abchazian battalion, the ‘O’-brigade, Wagner units, etc).
The DPR losses are for the armed forces of the DPR, so it includes those volunteers.
Furthermore, as the KIA to WIA ratio of 4 to 1 shows, it includes all wounds, including light and superficial ones. In fact, some individuals are likely included multiple times, as they got injured more than once! It’s also highly likely to include non-combat injuries.
As a rough estimate, about half those injuries were likely either treated on site without leaving their formation, or returned to duty within one or two weeks. It’s not as if every wound means you’re out for the duration.
Finally, The DPR losses look heavy because they did most of the fighting in the early phases of the battle for Mariupol (before the Chechens and Russian marines joined in). Their loss rate before and after that phase is much lower, so the total is not representative for the ‘normal’ rate of losses.
Ritter changed his mind. Ukraine got new Howitzer artillery up on the front line. Ukraine can win.
https://www.globalresearch.ca/scott-ritter-switcheroo-why-i-radically-changed-my-overall-assessment/5780404
Again this Russian pussy footing we know from Syria. Endless chatting and always only halfway. As long as they are fighting in Syria and Donbass, they are bleeding and no one is hurting Russia.
I saw that interview and had me scratching my head if I missed something. Early on Ritter said the West is sending Ukraine junk weapons. On rt.com he trashed the idea of the M777 helping the Ukrainians as the canon itself was not that great and required extensive training for 5-8 man crews. Plus guys to repair and maintain the cannon. And those weapons will turn the tide of the war? He seems to also have turned around his opinion of the Javelin which he trashed in a 2-minute video.
But from big picture point of view, he does seem to be right that the Russians would surround the Ukrainians and annihilate them with massive superior fire power. Ritter claims a battalion dying each day under the shelling.Andrie M also claims that Ukrainian army losing several hundred per day.
Also, at least South Front is claiming that the digital fire controls are not being shipped with the canons. Are the Ukrainians getting scaled back weapons even if they are the latest and greatest. Will just take in information from several forces and focus on the big picture.

Well said, Black Cloud, however, tranquilocomp has demonstrated to be a good propagandist for the NYT and other MSM, either he doesn’t understand the perverse role of the presstitute MSM in the PSYOPS operation against Russia, or he pretends not to. Under the guise of “fighting fake news” tranquilocomp keeps on posting NYT drivel, reproducing again and again the fake news he’s pretending to fight.
A vicious cycle of which I think he’s aware, and he does it on purpose.

Agree.
Bias and propaganda are closely related.
Lone Wolf: “…reproducing again and again the fake news he’s pretending to fight. A vicious cycle of which I think he’s aware, and he does it on purpose.”
You have quoted me above. I praise this Sitrep in the quote and criticize the NYT. There’s a good saying valid for all folks: “I’m not a golden coin to be liked by everyone.”
This is the best amatuer SITREP site that I have come across:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUnc496-PPmFZVKlYxUnToA
He aggregates all the disconnected pieces of information to form a comprehensive situational
awareness of the campaigns on all the fronts.
Let’s say there is a mass surrender
What would that mean does demilitarised and denazify still happen ?
A perfect example from history that explains the situation with Ukraine:
To understand the roots of the current confrontation, refer to our history, all this has already happened.
After the death of St. Vladimir – the Baptist of Russia, one of his sons, Svyatopolk the Accursed (from Cain – fratricide) decided to seize all power by killing his brothers – Saints Boris and Gleb.
To punish him from northern Novgorod, the ancient capital of Russia, another brother came – St. Yaroslav the Wise. This excerpt from the Tale of Bygone Years inspired us to create a video:
And Yaroslav gathered a thousand Varangians, and forty thousand other warriors, and went to Svyatopolk, calling on God to witness his truth and saying: “It was not I who began to beat my brothers, but he; May God be an avenger for the blood of my brothers, because without guilt he shed the righteous blood of Boris and Gleb.
Yaroslav drove Svyatopolk out of Kyiv, he fled to Poland, where he died ingloriously. And according to legend, his grave stinks to this day.
For 8 years Russia has been urging the accursed rulers of Kyiv to come to their senses and stop killing brothers. The time for exhortations has passed.
The truth is behind us!

—————————————————————————
I second you on your “factual and prudent” assessment of a good SitRep.
I agree with your assessment of the general trend of the SMO, however, I don’t believe the surrender of Azovstal would be a “massive psychological blow” for the same reasons you pointed out below, the compartmenting of the Ukronazis army when it comes to information, the isolation of units from factual, real, actual information, and mostly because theirs is the chronicle of a defeat foretold.
At this point in time, their “sacrifice” has no resonance against the beating the Ukrainian army is getting everywhere else. On another note, I agree with you there is no link between their surrender and the expectations of a domino effect in other Ukrainian units, for the reasons pointed above. Added to that, is the gap between the Ukronazis and Ukrainian conscripts, the latter resenting the formers in many ways, perceiving their “sacrifice” as a well deserved end, mostly a necessity to avoid war crime charges, a tribunal, and a sure death.
Finally, re: the surrender of Azovstal, it is happening, the news however are sketchy, impossible to discern the real conditions behind the most recent surrender.

AZOVSTAL. The first batch of Azov militants – 51 people – was captured. Latest reports and videos from Ukraine – evening of May 16 (22 videos)
The delivery will be large-scale. As they write, only the first batch of prisoners – 51 people. Apparently there will be more than one party.
In the morning, a group of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine left Azovstal with a white flag – this exit was discussed in advance in a “telegram”. Representatives of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are always in contact with the inmates.
They went out to escort several DPR officers into the depths of their bunkers, who were shown something. Then a partial analysis of the rubble began so that it was possible to carry out the wounded militants from Azovstal. At 6 p.m., it is known that 20 recumbents were carried out. It is not known how many walkers, but healthy people also come out with the wounded – including Azov militants. All are taken to Novoazovsk. No one will immediately change them and release them – these are ordinary prisoners of war, whose chances of getting to their own on exchange are extremely small.
Army aviation joined the liquidation of Ukrainian units in the area of Avdiivka. Pairs of Ka-52 helicopters are working on militant positions. “Alligators” replaced the operational-tactical aviation.
In Avdiivka and in the area of Marinka, the enemy today suffers the greatest losses. When trying to get out of Severodonetsk in the direction of Artemovsk (Bakhmut), columns of the Armed Forces of Ukraine came under crossfire. Now the road to Bakhmut in a number of areas is already under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the LPR NM.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine intends to increase the grouping of the Ukrainian army in the Donbas to 150 thousand – the bulk is thrown into Severodonetsk.
In the Krivoy Rog and Mykolaiv directions, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the next day intends to inflict massive strikes on the positions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with the use of artillery, tactical and army aviation from the airfields of Voznesensk and Dolgintsevo. Target designation and guidance to the facilities will be carried out by Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups and UAVs. To suppress Russian communication channels, electronic warfare systems will operate in both districts. The increased activity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southern directions is associated with the need to draw attention from the Donbass.
The Kiev regime is discussing with the UN the possibility of granting blocked ships in the ports of the Odessa region international status with humanitarian cargo in order to withdraw grain.
———————————————————————————————————-
An speculation about what happened with this batch of surrendered Ukronazis, is that they were left isolated from the main group by battlefield developments, bombing, positioning, etc., and were able to decide on their own their fate. IMHO, Azov battalion leadership, hard core supporters, and those who have no choice but to stay and die with them under penalty of death, will continue their hopeless, desperate plight to their bitter end. After all, they have no future alive, other than death, and they know it.
This batch, however, is a good beginning. They have a lot of information, which will give the Allied forces a better idea of what they are facing. It is important they have kept lines of communication open with the Ukronazis, being able to feel their situation at all times. Best choice for them is surrender, the only option left.
Lone Wolf
Thanks for today’s sitrep.
We’d apply Sun Tzu’s methodology to verify the situation in the Ukrainian war theater.
Sun Tzu says: “Therefore, in your deliberations, when seeking to determine the military conditions, let them be made the basis of a comparison, in this wise:
(1) Which of the two sovereigns is imbued with the Moral law?
(2) Which of the two generals has most ability?
(3) With whom lie the advantages derived from Heaven and Earth?
(4) On which side is discipline most rigorously enforced?
(5) Which army is stronger?
(6) On which side are officers and men more highly trained?
(7) In which army is there the greater constancy both in reward and punishment?
By means of these seven considerations I can forecast victory or defeat.”
Our own answers to these questions: 1- Russia is imbued with higher moral standards. 2- say 50/50. 3- Russia controls the entire airspace/sea in Ukraine and has greater mobility on land. 4-Russia. 5-Russia. 6-Russia. 7. Russia, since the Uki military has lost most of its command structures.
Therefore, based on Sun Tzu’s formula, Russia should certainly prevail.
More on the surrendering of Azovstal combatants.

URGENTLY! Azov militants came out with a WHITE FLAG! Latest reports May 16 – noon (12 videos)
Vladlen Tatarsky, who is in Mariupol, reports that the first prisoners from Azovstal should leave at the site of the Donetsk battalion “Vostok” at 17.30. Khodakovsky has already written that a group of militants came out with a white flag. Details will be in the evening.
According to preliminary information, New York fell under the onslaught of Allied forces. The 54th and 110th Ombr of the Armed Forces of Ukraine suffered huge damage, there is a question of reforming brigades due to the inability to quickly make up for irreparable losses.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine transfers heavy weapons and artillery from the Southern Front to the Donbas in order to hold Severodonetsk. The Office of the President of Ukraine instructed Zaluzhny to keep the city of any value, so that the symbol of the Battle for Donbass would not be surrounded by Russian troops.
Interesting from the morning briefing of the DoD. The command post of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade in the Tsapovka area of the Kharkiv region was destroyed. Two Su-25s of the Ukrainian Air Force were shot down – one in the Mykolaiv region, the second near Velyka Kamushevakha. In the area of Zmeiny Island, one Ukrainian Su-24 aircraft was shot down.
The delay in launching the Ukrainian offensive on Cossack Lopan north of Kharkiv is complicated by the successes of the Russian Armed Forces in the Donbas. In the past two days, the transfer of mobilized units fighting near Kharkiv began to staff 30 ombr and 56 ombr of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which suffered significant losses during the hostilities in the Donbas. In Chernoglazovka and Korotych, powerful fortified areas were built in case of counteroffensive attempts by the Russian Armed Forces. Bukovel electronic warfare stations have also been transferred there.
The Russian Armed Forces struck another blow near Zatoka in the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district of the Odessa region. According to local residents, another tourist center, chosen by foreign “tourists”, was calibrated.
In the Zhytomyr region, the combat capability of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and territorial defense is being restored. In Malina there is a staffing of 10 OGSHBR. In the city itself and its environs, personnel are placed in schools and kindergartens.
In the training center in Novgorod-Volynsky and the training ground in Alexandrovka, a reserve of 30 ombr is formed. In Ovruch, the personnel of the 44th OABR are being trained, which are equipped with Western-made MANPADS. On the basis of the 190th training center of the Zhytomyr Military Institute in Guiva, accelerated training courses for servicemen of 95 odshbr are held. The recruitment of volunteers and the admission of forcibly mobilized citizens to the ranks of the 115th Territorial Defense Brigade is underway in Polessky. The training of military personnel takes place under the supervision of foreign instructors. (Rybar).

It appears that all of the Azov fighters inside Azovstal will surrender shortly. The Azovs have posted the following: In order to save lives, the entire Mariupol garrison is implementing the approved decision of the Supreme Military Command.
The Western press (and RT) is calling this an evacuation; it is not. It’s a surrender. The Azovs are going to Donbass.
To those who still think the Azovs will continue to “heroically” defend Azovstal, I say ” Elivis has left the building.”

Thanks, Anton, appreciate it. Interesting they are “implementing the approved decision of the Supreme Military Command.” (sic!)
RT should be classified as a foreign agent, or shut down for high treason. They continue to say in every article on Ukraine, “Russia attacked Ukraine…” without a contextual explanation of the background that forced Russia to start the SMO, which is what they should say, “Russia started an SMO because…”
RT is nauseatingly pro-West.
I certainly hope Azovites would take the only option left to them. Their deaths would not be considered “heroic,” their usefulness as a “bastion of resistance” is way passed, they are not rallying the Ukrainian population to resist the “Russian invasion,” which they cannot do from London, Paris, Warsaw, etc. Their time is up.
As for the surrender of the entire Ukrainian army, posted by Uncle Bob below, Telegram says it is “according to some reports,” in other words, an unverifiable rumor. I believe the Ukrainian army still has some air left, and will continue to postpone the inevitable. It is their privilege. They need to fill their pockets with all the aid, they will have to retire somewhere. In the meantime, they will continue to send Ukrainians to the meat grind.

If this is really what Ukraine had decided, then at least AZOVSTAL is surrendering.

“RT should be classified as a foreign agent, or shut down for high treason.”
They are a good source of alternative news. They televise speeches of Putin and Lavrov and from the United Nations and other services that are hard to find elsewhere (here that’s provided too). They could improve, but “high treason”? What if pres. Putin and Lavrov support it? I’ve watched Putin praising it.
There are a lot of strong rumors all over the pro-Russian Telegram sites that the surrender of the wounded from Avozstal is only the beginning. That all of the Ukrainian forces there are close to surrendering. And that Kiev is in a panic trying to figure out a way to spin the PR to not look as bad as it will be for them:
According to some reports, at this moment an emergency meeting of the Ukrainian leadership is taking place on Bankova Street on the issue of how to present the surrender of the Ukrainian military and members of other paramilitary groups at Azovstal to the population and the West.
https://t.me/intelslava/28998
Cat has to wonder why those promised weapons are not showing up on the battlefield and finally admit, the war is lost.
I don’t think it is the war won or lost because they rule in part by fear. If enough people surrender the government won’t be able to punish. Safety in numbers.
More on the surrender of the Azovtsy, commander “Kalina” was among them, talking his head off. They requested no videos, and the Allied forces complied. They also requested some “security guarantees” i.e., not to be shot on the spot.
Donbass awaits them with open arms.

The surrendered “Azovtsy” told who is now sitting on AZOVSTAL: even the Russian command is IN SHOCK. Evening of May 16 (16 videos)
Today, on May 16, it was Azov, a local group that fought back during the defense of Azovstal: 20 seriously wounded, 31 relatively healthy. They surrendered under some guarantees, but not that they were evacuated to Ukraine or Turkey. Most likely, in order not to simply kill – under the guarantee of life.
No one publishes photos and videos yet – there is an agreement with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
We went straight out with weapons, cleared the exit route together with the DPR special forces.
The deputy commander of the regiment “Azov” “Kalina” is a formal commander, did not fight at all, just a talking company.
According to those who surrendered, the rest of Azovstal was populated by thousands of encircled, a lot of them. That’s it, more information will be available tomorrow.
Near Kharkov, counterattacks of the Russian army began, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, meanwhile, are withdrawing the main forces to the Donbas. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine drives thousands of new soldiers near Severodonetsk, but after the capture of Kamyshevakha, the battles on the next line will actually be for the encirclement of Severodonetsk-Lisichansk.

As per RT, Erdogan shut the door to Finland and Sweden’s NATO membership.
Just yesterday the FM was saying they were not shutting the door, they had reservations, but couldn’t vote against them joining NATO.
What happened?
Erdogan playing hard to get? Expected to be bribed with F-35s? With more weapons, money, or both? He told Finland and Sweden not to bothered to go to Turkey, after they express their willingness to visit him. That’s pretty strong. IMHO, Erdogan’s ego was wounded by either Finland and/or Sweden, or both, and Erdogan’s reaction was visceral.
We’ll see.

Delegations from these countries should not bother asking Ankara to approve their applications, president says
Turkey will not say “yes” to Finland and Sweden’s NATO membership bids, the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday, adding that any attempts to persuade Ankara to change its position would be fruitless.
Both governments officially announced their intention to join the US-led military bloc this weekend. Turkey had previously warned that it might oppose the move, with Erdogan calling the two Nordic countries “guesthouses for terrorist organizations.” He was referring to the separatist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Front (DHKP/C), which have been outlawed by Ankara.
“These countries do not have a clear unequivocal stance against terrorist organizations. Sweden is the incubation center of terrorist organizations. They bring terrorists to talk in their parliaments. We wouldn’t say ‘yes’ to them joining NATO, a security organization They were going to come on Monday to convince us. Sorry, they don’t have to bother,” Erdogan said.
The Swedish Foreign Ministry said on Monday that senior officials from Helsinki and Stockholm would travel to Turkey to discuss the matter. Erdogan, however, indicated at the press briefing that such talks would be senseless.
In order to join the bloc, a country’s membership bid must be approved unanimously by all 30 members. It’s likely that Ankara will be pressed by the US to reverse its objections.
NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana had previously said he was sure his organization would be able to overcome Turkey’s reservations.
Finland and Sweden decided to reconsider their long-standing policy of non-alignment following a major change in public opinion amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. According to recent polls, a majority in both countries now support NATO membership.
The decision of the countries to apply for NATO membership has been condemned by Moscow. In Russian President Vladimir Putin’s opinion, the new development aggravates an already complicated international security situation.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed in its social networks, on Tuesday evening, that its servicemen holed up at the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol have been ordered to surrender.
“The garrison “Mariupol” has completed the assigned combat mission. The highest military command issued an order to the commanders of the units located at Azovstal to save the lives of the personnel,” the Ukrainian military statement explained. According to Kiev, while holding positions at Azovstal, its soldiers prevented Russian troops from operating in other theaters.
The two countries have been embroiled in a full-blown conflict since February, when Moscow attacked its neighbor, following an eight year standoff over the fate of the Donbass.
Kiev insisted that the Azov Neo-Nazis and members of its regular forces had “prevented the implementation of the [alleged Russian] plan for the quick capture of [nearby] Zaporozhye, and did not allow access to the administrative border of the Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions.”
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that work on their return will require “delicacy and time”.
“Thanks to the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, intelligence, as well as the negotiating group, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN, we have hope that we will be able to save the lives of our guys. I want to emphasize that Ukraine needs Ukrainian heroes alive. This is our principle. I think that every adequate person will understand these words. To bring our military back home, the work continues, and this work requires delicacy and time,” he stated.
A large portion of them are members of the Neo-Nazi ‘Azov regiment.’ The military uniforms of the group feature Nazi insignia and its members have been photographed with tattoos of symbols such as the swastika. Its first commander Andrey Biletsky has said he believes it’s Ukraine’s mission to “lead the white races of the world in a final crusade… against Semite-led Untermenschen [inferior humans]”.

The first stage of surrender was completed on Monday. 264 soldiers left Azovstal. There are now 53 wounded servicemen in a hospital in Novoazovsk and 211 soldiers in Yelenovka, both of which are part of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Russian sources have estimated that about 2,200 people have been trapped in the basements of the huge Azovstal complex. The site is eleven square kilometres long and its subterranean sections are designed to withstand a nuclear attack.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, those who surrender will be exchanged for Russian prisoners of war, taken captive by Kiev. However, the terms of the exchange have not yet been decided.
Moscow has not yet made any public statements about an exchange. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian side has tried to avoid the use of the expression “surrender”.
After the last Ukrainian soldier leaves Azovstal, the battle for Mariupol will be effectively over and Russia will have gained total control of the strategically vital city.
” On May 16, as a result of negotiations with representatives of Ukrainian servicemen blocked at the Azovstal Iron and Steel Works in Mariupol, an agreement was reached to evacuate the wounded. ”
This is some very interesting wording. Why would you need an ” agreement ” to be evacuated and given medical treatment when surrendering would have achieved the same thing? All they Ukies had to do is surrender in the first place. Therefore, I conclude there is more to this ” agreement ” then we are being currently told.
‘agreement’…. avoiding summery exicution.
Right now, RT is reporting “Ukraine orders Azovstal fighters to surrender”. It’s the top story.
For Ukraine, things are now going to deteriorate fast.
Sure sounds like face saving. Can’t keep them from surrendering so they are ordered to surrender.
I don’t understand Russian but this is about Azovstal

Probably crazy but could this be why Biden just signed a secret exec order to bomb & send 500 troops to Somalia? As a distraction from coming Ukraine surrender?
The Buffalo shooting PSYOP is also a distraction from the Azovstal surrender.
If as some people assert, the Ukraine folds, I would take that as a tell that the Somalia thing is a distraction.

📹🏳️ Surrender of Azov nationalist unit fighters and Ukrainian servicemen blocked at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol
◽️ Over the past 24 hours, 265 militants have laid down arms and surrendered, including 51 seriously wounded.
🏥 All those in need of medical assistance were sent for treatment to a hospital in Novoazovsk, Donetsk People’s Republic.
I believe the surrender is continuing today, but no photographs (Big Fish being hauled there)
The Ukies are butthurt and the excuses are, to say the least, very creative. Like, this is not a surrender – of course, it is and these people are now prisoners of war! (Some funny guy quipped .. no, it is not a surrender but a tactical withdrawal, which caused a lot of laughter around the room).

I also hear that those taken into custody are not necessarily kept where they say they are, but already removed to detention facilities on Russian territory. They’re taking no chances for any kind of ‘extraction procedure’.
Zelensky has accepted this surrender, that it was necessary. He will continue to surrender.

Would these be the camera-shy NATO officers? Do they think they will be traded and not put on trial and identified?
NYT headline today:
“Ukraine Orders Surrender of Steel Plant as Russia Strengthens Hold in South”
Today, the data gatherers tell me, that bits of pieces of the results of the operations over the past few days are becoming clearer.
This seems significant: 🇷🇺🇺🇦 The LPR army took the village of Orekhovo near Gorsky and Zolote.
The battles for Kamyshevakha also continue. The LNR says that as soon as Kamyshevakh is taken, the operational encirclement of the Severodonetsk grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will happen. They hint that by deploying artillery in the Kamyshevakhi area, they will be able to ensure stable fire control over the Soledar-Lysichansk highway west of Kamyshevakhi.
It is estimated that there are 16,000 Ukrops in this cauldron.
And here we go:
🇷🇺🇺🇦⚡️Footage of the failed counterattack of the Ukrainian armed formations on the positions of the Russian Armed Forces in the Zaporozhye region. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation gives the details of the battle:
▪️The Kiev regime made an attempt to attack units of the Russian Armed Forces with the forces of two Ukrainian mechanized battalions on tanks and infantry fighting vehicles on May 14;
▪️The advancing of enemy armored vehicles and preparations for the attack were discovered by UAV crews and technical intelligence equipment of the Russian formation;
▪️The enemy’s armored vehicles were hit by drones and artillery, after which the enemy’s attack was repulsed by oncoming fire from tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, as well as modern anti-tank weapons;
The idea of the Kyiv authorities turned out to be a hopeless adventure, during which 26 Ukrainian tanks and 12 infantry fighting vehicles were destroyed. The irretrievable losses of the enemy in manpower amounted to about 100

Remember, keep calm and pay in Rubles :-)
————-
Other reports are of 200 frozen corpses found so far in Azovstal.
And the Russians keep waiting until some western weapons storage is nicely full, and then they hit ’em. 10 to 12 Russian cruise missiles hit Yavoriv military complex which is believed to have housed a large shipment of American weapons
Amayrath,
Any indication which Kiev units were involved in the defeat ? The destroyed equipment suggests tank battalion which is rare for Kiev
I tried reading France 24 and almost threw up my lunch. According to them Ukraine is close to victory driving Russian troops back home. That Azovstal is just a negative detail and congratulations to the hero warriors who resisted there. Oh my gosh !
