Khodakovsky’s (commander of Vostok Battalion) noted that they have +1,800 prisoners of war in custody. Another 80-90 surrendered over the past 24 hours and the estimate is that a few hundred is still in the hole.
It is visible! It is palpalable! Morale in the both the Armed Forces of the Ukraine as well as in the general society is dropping like a stone. Soldiers are laying down their weapons, surrendering or simply try to walk home after Azovstal, because the fairy tale, the fantasy of proud and committed nazi soldiers bravely resisting, has shattered. The will to resist from the Ukrainian side is crumbling fast.
These are just a few and reports of Ukrainian forces surrendering are many and increasing.
- 11 servicemen of the 25th airborne brigade and 17 soldiers of the 54th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine voluntarily laid down their arms and went over to the side of the DPR – Yevgeny Poddubny 2022-05-18 https://t.me/greatrussia1/8253

- RusVesna Reports: There is a mass surrender of Ukrainian soldiers in the LNR against the backdrop of the surrender of the Azov militants from Azovstal: “We want to live,” says a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
- … they were sent to go on the offensive, despite the fact that the commanders had already fled, abandoning their subordinate soldiers. The remaining Ukrainian servicemen surrendered because they “wanted to live”. https://t.me/EurasianChoice/13843
- War correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny reports that in the DPR, twenty servicemen of the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade of Ukraine voluntarily laid down their arms and surrendered.
- During the night, five more servicemen from the 95th Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine surrendered to the DPR forces.
- The prisoners said that the command recently used them as ordinary infantry, which was tasked with “being in the trenches and trying to hold back the offensive.”
- In the trenches, from where the Ukrainian paratroopers surrendered, at least three dozen of their colleagues died, who could not withstand the attacks of artillery and armored vehicles, and then collided with an assault unit of the special forces of the allied forces of the DPR and the Russian Federation. The survivors refused further resistance and raised the white flag.
We can fill a page or two with similar reports.
The rule of thumb is that if you have a competent fighting force of say 600 ‘bayonets’, and 200 walk off the job, either by attrition or by surrender or by simply going awol, the fighting force cannot fight any longer. Yes, they can do a lot of damage still, and as many reports of surrenders as there are, unfortunately, there are as many reports of these forces willy nilly firing on villages and towns, taking over houses and larger structures (schools, hospitals) and hiding behind civilians and non-combatants where Kadyrov’s special forces take them out in brutal hand to hand combat while these combatants torture the civilian inhabitants.
It remains a hard and bloody grind. Yet, cauldrons are forming and the Russian forces continue the grind, day by day, and night by night. Here are some sketches of what looks like four forming now. Cauldrons https://t.me/russianhead/3173
It seems that these settlements have truly now been liberated by Russian forces/LPR National Militias over the last 24 hours as part of the offensive from Popasnaya:
- Vladimirovka
- Tripolye
- Khamyshevaka
- Vrybovka
- Zolotoe.
At least in this area of the Lugansk People’s Republic the Ukrainian defense lines are crumbling. Shoigu confirms:
Shoigu gave an overview of the situation:
Opening speech by the Russian Minister of Defence, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, at the Russian Defence Ministry Board Session (https://t.me/mod_russia_en/1749)📑Key points
🔻About the special military operation
▫️ The liberation of the Lugansk People’s Republic is nearing completion. The Ukrainian Armed Forces, trying to delay the advance of Russian troops, are not letting local residents out of cities and towns and are using them as human shield.
▫️ Suffering defeat on the “ground”, the Kiev regime seeks to achieve at least short-term successes in certain areas, passing them off as major ones.
▫️ On the eve of Victory Day, the Ukrainian authorities made an adventurous attempt to seize Snake Island. This dubious action turned out to be a complete failure. Any provocation in the future would be severely dealt with
▫️ The blockade of the Azovstal plant continues. Nationalists blocked inside the plant are actively surrendering. To date, 1,908 people have laid down their arms.
▫️ The Russian Armed Forces are doing all they can to prevent civilian deaths. More than 1,377,000 people have been evacuated to Russia from dangerous regions of the people’s republics, as well as from Ukraine, since the beginning of the special military operation.
▫️ I would like the personnel for their professionalism, courage and heroism in accomplishing the tasks set by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
🔻On the situation in the Western strategic direction
▫️ The situation in the Western strategic direction is characterised by growing military threats near Russia’s borders. Over the past eight years, US strategic bomber flights in Europe have increased 15-fold. American ships with guided missiles have entered the Baltic Sea on a systematic basis.
▫️ Finland and Sweden have applied to join NATO. Tensions continue to rise in the Western Military District’s area of responsibility. Adopt adequate countermeasures.
▫️ By the end of the year, 12 military units will have been formed in the Western Military District. The ongoing organisational measures are synchronised with the supply of modern weapons and military equipment to the troops.
🔻On equipping the Aerospace Forces and the Navy with medium- and long-range unmanned aerial vehicle systems
▫️ Unmanned aerial vehicles are actively used by the Armed Forces for a wide range of missions. Over the past 10 years, their flight intensity has increased sevenfold and their annual flight time has risen 23-fold. Since 2015, unmanned aerial vehicles have been monitoring almost all of Syrian territory around the clock.
▫️ During the special military operation in Ukraine, UAVs conduct aerial reconnaissance and carry out selective point-blank strikes against enemy targets in dense urban areas, preventing damage to civilian infrastructure and civilian casualties. Information obtained from UAVs is transmitted in real time to consumers. This enables troops to react quickly to changes in the situation and act as effectively as possible.
▫️ The army and navy continue to receive modern systems with unmanned aerial vehicles for operational purposes.
▫️ Strategic UAVs are expected to be delivered in the near future. Their use will save pilots and significantly reduce the cost of reconnaissance and firing missions by reducing the consumption of ammunition and the resource of aircraft.
Let’s take a quick look at the battlefield through the eyes of the intrepid reporters at Readovka:
The topic of the day was the surrender of the touted “Azovstal hero” radical Sviatoslav Palamar with the call sign Kalina. Our sources reported in the morning that the “manure” was already (https://t.me/readovkanews/34318) in Rostov-on-Don. By evening, however, a video appeared online (https://t.me/russianonwars/701) in which “Kalina” himself was broadcasting that the 85th day of the war was going on, and that he and his command were still at the Azovstal plant. He also talked about some kind of secret special operation. Some authors ironically say that it is most likely a sex change operation.
⚔️ The situation on the fronts remains tense, but the successes of the Allied forces are hard to ignore:
▫️ On the Kharkov front, losses in manpower, equipment, and concentration by Ukrainian forces are beginning to be felt. Today ours were able to liberate (https://t.me/russianonwars/691) Ternovaya near the Russian state border.
▫️Izium front – fighting near Krasny Liman, where up to 1,500 enemy soldiers are under threat of being surrounded. Heavy fighting is going on in the woods near the village of Dolgenkoye.
▫️The Lugansk front is becoming a black mark for the Ukrainian army. Even the commanders on the ground themselves are already telling the top military leadership about the lack of heavy equipment and the incompetence of some leaders. So the 3rd battalion of the 115th brigade of the AFU refused (https://t.me/voenacher/18972) to go into battle near Severodonetsk. Meanwhile, our forces are developing a grandiose offensive from Popasna in several directions – it is not for nothing that they fought so hard for this bridgehead for almost a whole month. It is reported that Allied troops from the north of the city entered (https://t.me/boris_rozhin/49516) Viktorovka, to the south they took (https://t.me/boris_rozhin/49498) Troitskoye, to the northeast they half-cleared Toshkovka, and to the west they are fighting for Pilipchatino. There is also information that our paratroopers have liberated (https://t.me/boris_rozhin/49523) the village of Vladimirovka, near Soledar, and Wagner’s “music” has liberated Tripillya. In fact, all this work that has been done guarantees tight fire control of our artillery over the Soledar-Lisichansk highway. The storming of Severodonetsk does not stop either – the fighters go into battle from three directions at once.
▫️On the Donetsk Front, fighting is taking place near Novoselovka-2 and Novobakhmutovka, as well as on the outskirts of New York – the Avdeevka cauldron continues to “forge”, the front is pushing further away from Gorlovka.
▫️ In Mariupol, more than half of the garrison in bunkers left Azovstal (https://t.me/readovkanews/34327). This was reported by the head of the DNR Denis Pushylin. More than 2,000 heavily armed fighters have now surrendered (https://t.me/readovkanews/34329).
▫️The Southern Front appears to have taken an operational pause to bring in reserves and strike assets. “Courtesies” are being exchanged between artillerymen on both sides.
💣 Our border territories have once again been hit by chaotic Ukrainian shelling. This time it was (https://t.me/readovkanews/34319) the village of Tetkino in the Kursk region, where, according to the governor, one person was killed by shrapnel. In the evening, there was another report from Kursk region that AFU fired mortars at (https://t.me/readovkanews/34397) the villages of Alekseevka and Dronovka.
🚀Air Arrivals. Yasinovataya again received (https://t.me/RtrDonetsk/5970) strikes on civilians by the AFU. They also reached (https://t.me/RtrDonetsk/5953) the settlement of the mine named after them. Lenin. The Petrovsky district of Donetsk was also shelled (https://t.me/readovkanews/34326). There was air defense work in Kherson.
👁From interesting things: swastikas, prayers and pagan rituals – Azov people, who in a hurry left the base near Mariupol, abandoned (https://t.me/readovkanews/34361) all their nationalist paraphernalia on it
👁It’s no secret that stopping the supply of weapons and ammunition to the AFU on the front line is the main task of our army. We found (https://t.me/russianonwars/692) on the net a list of large ammunition depots in the central part of Ukraine, which is definitely worth “calibrating”.
The grind will continue and so will the reconstruction. The Russian government has now created a special office responsible for the restoration of the liberated territories of the Ukraine, says the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin.
It is interesting to note also if you read the Russian MoD early morning report, the numbers of military targets being hit, are increasing. Notable this morning is: 17 Ukrainian Smerch multiple-launch rockets intercepted near Topolskoe, Malaya Kamyshevakha, Snezhkovka in Kharkov Region and Chernobaevka in Kherson Region.
We close with two wonderful reports on the Azovites where the meme: ‘I laughed my Azov’ took root.
Translate this one for sure. It is the journalist Steshin who was on the spot and probably still is. https://www.kp.ru/daily/27393/4588115/
That is it for today. Enjoy your discussion and be careful with the Ukie propaganda. It is everywhere.
Paganism has nothing to do with the dark occult rituals that the Azov murderers use including initiation by execution of civilians or POWs.
The ancient Gods and Godesses have long since moved on, according to some occultists. Their place might have been taken by dark demonic forces
Both Alex Jones and David Eike have been remarkably prescient. They both predicted the ongoing scams by the media and elites.

Reminder of the Roman Mithra Cult, based in Capri, was the official Roman army religion, alters found all along the Limes, the original Wall, and into Britain. Archaeo’s for decades refused to document these alters.
This is paganism- actually Gaia stuff from Babylon. Which is why Rome was called the w*h*ore of Babylon, Ishtar, by the Apostles and Augustine.
See Venice, Second Rome, today, Piazza St. Marco, with the winged “St. Marc” on the pylon pointing to Babylon – paganism with “Catholic Venice” cover.
Mithra rituals involved sacrificing bulls, having a shower beneath. Gaia, Apollo, Bel, involved child sacrifice – AFAIK a huge Bel site in Majorca was for years ignored. Rome’s Basilica is built on top the main Mithra cult center.
Easy to see Azov like the Roman army – expect far worse to be exposed.
Just imagine Germanian, Gauls, Greeks, Persians, Slavs, all pagans themselves, facing such a Roman onslaught, knowing their cult!
And imagine the impossible – they were all defeated, converted. To attempt to roll 2000 years of history back is ludicrous!
You’re right. They worship baphomet.
In the village of Verkhnetoretsky, recently liberated from the armed formations of Ukraine, ritual accessories of a satanic orientation were found.

Not very convincing. It looks like edgy Halloween junk they got at a dollar store. They might actually have used it for ritual paraphernalia, who knows, but it still looks like it came from the dollar store.

From the moderator:
Please take other topic subjects to the MFC – thank you.
The lede did mention paganism, explicitly, Mod:
“From interesting things: swastikas, prayers and pagan rituals – Azov people, who in a hurry left the base near Mariupol, abandoned (https://t.me/readovkanews/34361) all their nationalist paraphernalia on it”
this is dynamite!
Not the kind of stuff they teach us in schools. Will research this, thanks bonbon
No, western schools concentrate on other forms of indoctrination.
Yale Skull and Bones looks awfully like SS Batallion Das Reich and Totenkopf insignia found all over Azov?
And in Tibet.
Yale expected initiates to drink from skulls – not clear if Jeremy Bentham’s smelly cranium.
Maybe there is a Yale Battalion?
Excellent report, thank you.
It is the nature of this kind of warfare that things appear slow. The opposing side’s resistance seems tenacious. Then a break down occurs and the opponents capabilities are revealed as a ‘sand bagged’ illusion.
A dam may hold back a raging river, but once ‘overtopped’, the end comes quickly and one realizes that the end was never really in doubt.
Slava Rossiya!
Agreed – it’s likely that operations in the Cauldron take until late June, early July.
Some comments – when gauging will-to-fight by the troops surrendering; it’s important to distinguish between Elite, Regular, or Volksturm.
The 115th is a Volksturm formation. They are expected to quickly capitulate after some symbolic face saving fighting.
The 54th is a regular ground Force Unit. These guys will capitulate or cease to fight once their local unit ( Company, Platoon, or Squad ) teaches that 30% out of action figure.
The 24th is a elite unit – they‘ll keep fighting (at least defensively) for a long long time; maybe even above 50% out of action. Varies a lot.
In conclusion – when we read that a 1,000 Volksturm surrendered it doesn’t signify imminent collapse of a sector. However, when we start seeing surrenders of a dozen and then surrenders in groups of 100 from regular formations then we know collapse of a sector is happening soon.
Note – this is only phase 2 of a very long liberation campaign.
Good clarification for us. Where would you say the most stubborn Elite units are located?
Where are the Elite Kiev units now located ?
Difficult to say with any degree of certainty, there has been a fair amount of movement, and hardly any publicity for a while. The only fellow who really tracked the Kiev units got notified by the Allied MOD that he should shutdown ( loose ships sink ships ) which he respectfully did.
There is a decent map on the Wikipedia page that recently appeared of the Kiev brigades home base barracks locations. Click on the structure pull down and scroll all the end
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_Ground_Forces
The order of battle appears at first very confusing but there are really only 25 regular army combat ( maneuver ) brigades – easy enough to figure out and observe
I‘d sure like to find out if the 17th Tank was the Kiev unit mauled at the infamous bridge crossing debacle last week. This mauling would explain that the 60th Territorial (Volksturm) was sent South West from Kryih Rog ( sp?) to defend ( attack ?) against Allied probes coming from direction Kherson (sp?)
If Kryih Rog is liberated by the Allies – it’s over for the Cauldron. The 17th was all that protected Kryih Roh.
Locations don’t remain static. For more frequent English language updates on the status of Russia’s Special Military Operation and opposition encountered and dealt with, the Telegram Z and V channel maintained by Tatyana from St. Petersburg is worth a look at https://t.me/s/ZandVchannel/
It also includes some poignant post-surrender interviews with civilian survivors of the Azovstal experience under Nazi control such as:
The drivvle leaving the lips of the Kiev crew is getting beyond outerspace silly. No doubt there is progress on all fronts. I saw this just a few minutes ago.

Please..
You already said that on 2th march.
And in half march.
And then again in half april
And again in half May.
How can I trust your claim?
Any chance you could quote the claim, some of us are old and slow……..
Cheers M
We make observations based on events that are taking place. We make reasonable estimates/predictions, not claims, on what they mean. We may be right or wrong based on the changing dynamics of the military operation.
As for trust… trust your Mother, but I recommend you still cut the cards.
I also remember the earlier reports and anyone can access them by scrolling through the past news or using the search feature. What is reported are mere predictions based on the FOG of war, laced with a heavy bias of a desired outcome rather than an accurate reflection of the truth. This is human nature.
This is a situation report. Not a prediction report.
Yes, we are unashamedly pro-Russian but even more, unashamedly pro-human.
Thank you for your work. Me too, pro-Russia and pro Human.
Oh please. Both sides are agreeing that the Azov and AFU forces in Azovstal are surrendering/preserving their heroic lives. That’s the truth there. Sorry if it hurts you.
You know if you go to any MSM website and dig up their old articles you can say the same thing about their claims that Russia’s defeat etc was imminent.
What’s striking is that the MSM has been a toning claims of Uki victory down, whilst the pro-Russian side has not toned down claims of a Russian victory. Put one and two together and you’ll get your answer as to whose claims you can trust.
It’s highly plausible that with the surrender of “elite” Nazis at Azovstal there will be an avalanching will to surrender among regular soldiers, especially conscripts. How many committed Nazi cadres can there be distributed among all units in order to terrorize them into continuing to fight? (And that’s leaving aside whether or not the troops are willing to frag them.)
Maybe the much-awaited collapse of the Ukrainian army, at least in the Donbass, is at hand.
Soon the “Wunderwaffe” of Azov will let them take Moscow, Kameraden!;)
Would somebody enlighten me about the name of this flying twirling projectile? Thanks much.
14-5.mp4
anyone concerned with M270 likely to appear in ucr ?
Short Answer: No.
Long Answer: Weaponry of this type makes great headlines for ‘know nothing’ journalists. However, these sorts of weapon systems are likely to have little if any impact on the operational and tactical situation in The Ukraine.
Any modern, mobile warfare weapon systems, require significant and reliable logistical support to be effective. Additionally they require personnel trained specifically for their use.
What the Ukrainian Army needs is fit, well trained professional soldiers, armed with “reliable” man portable anti-air and anti-tank weapons.
What the Ukrainian Army has, to an excessive extent, is a bunch of old age pensioners huddling in trenches.
Why do people get an instant hard-on whenever the western MSM announces that some weapon will be sent to ukraine from the US or some other NATO countries? These weapons aren’t magic bullets, and many of them get destroyed. They mean even less in the hands of the mostly untrained ukrop forces. ukraine wasn’t prepared for this war as well as everyone hyped them up to be. They can fight and knock out some Russian equipment, but this is like poking the bear. Just gonna piss Russians off even more and result in more irreplaceable ukrop losses.
Why ?
Because NATO militaries tend to be stuck in at the technical level of warfare. They understand grand strategy and strategy but the operational level escapes them.
The Allies are steeped in Ooerational planning and concepts.
Has anyone seen this or do they know if it is true:
https://m-kalashnikov.livejournal.com/4243623.html

The course of further military operations also turned out to be very far from the goals that had previously been declared and which were supported by the overwhelming majority of the Russians and other indigenous peoples of Russia. Along the railway and other transport routes of Ukraine from the West to the Donbass and Kharkiv, under the talk of the dominance of our aviation in the air, there is a continuous stream of echelons with personnel, military equipment, fuel, ammunition, food and other material resources necessary for the enemy to conduct combat operations. One of the main reasons for the virtually uninterrupted supply of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with everything necessary is the lack of a systematic impact on the rear communications of the enemy, including groups and special forces.
The Russian Armed Forces and the People’s Militia of the DPR and LPR are still in dire need of drones, thermal imagers, and other ammunition, for which the people collect donations, although the government has enough money.
The last straw that overflowed the cup of our patience was the events in the area of the pontoon crossing near the village of Belogorovka, where for a week our troops suffered unacceptably large losses in personnel and lost several dozen units of military equipment, carrying out offensive operations without proper direct support from ground attack and army aviation and artillery cover.
See, you’re doing it wrong. Your supposed to preface your post with “I really support Russia but…” and then launch into the rather outdated Ukrainian propaganda.
But assuming you are being sincere. No there is almost nothing true in that mess.
The whole thing looks more like a projection of the woes afflicting the Ukrainian forces on to the Allies.
From Shoigu‘s statement
….. By the end of the year, 12 military units will have been formed in the Western Military District. The ongoing organisational measures are synchronised with the supply of modern weapons and military equipment to the troop…….
Comment – A very significant insight into the MOD planning and thinking of phases 3,4, and beyond. This increase was likely planned months before 24.Feb.
Question – are these12 units brigades or battalions ? Anyone have insight in this buildup ?
Just my guess, but I would say a mix of Battalion Tactical Groups and support.
That may not seem like much, but bear in mind that the Western Military District is traditionally where the lion’s share of ‘top of the line’ units are already assigned. This includes, I believe, the 1st Guards Tank Army.
Thanks – so figure 4 combat battalions and 8 battalions Artie, support etc ?
I don‘t really have a handle on the contemporary Allies ground force structures so pleased to have your input.
Well, this is not by the way Central Europe.
A very, very difficult place for any military operation and not an easy one for a NATO attack.
No need to stuck there a high level of forces
Mother Nature protect Russia.
I can imagine elite troops, very well trained and with top weaponry, supported by high technological satellites placed in orbit with this purpose.
I just came from “Strategic Culture” and there is a great editorial there about the civilian captives of the Nazis in the Azoustal plant. They dont allow comments there, but maybe someone here can help me. Why does RT not have interviews with these people? Get them dressed up, give them a little money to help them relax, and let them relate their suffering.
Even if those interviews only appeared on RT, would they not help?
Quite possibly, under the international regulations, it could be considered parading of captives, if they are in custody.
Very informative article. However I do not think Nazism is a uniquely Ukrainian problem. The US and the UK have been sympathetic to this ideology for some time.
“The Ukrainian refugees in Europe is a time-bomb
Washington has been nurturing Nazi movements in Ukraine for many years, arming them, and also regularly supplying National Socialists to create a “new reich” – in the center of Europe
A part of Ukrainian refugees are likely to be the reason for nazi ideology rebirth. When some fled the war seeking safety, others came over to restart the radical movements in Europe. “The nazi cells are yet to be active across Europe. Just wait until they meet with the Bandera ideology followers” –

The blatantly pro-nazi stance of all western governments combined with their increasingly totalitarian domestic polices has led many to wonder if a slow motion fascist coup is not already well underway in western countries.
Prior to the outbreak of WWII the US was supporting and supplyng Hitler and his regime.
After WWII the US incorporated a number of SS people into the ranks of their intelligence services.
Indeed they did,Klaus Barbi was one of them, also the West German state employed former Hitler Judges high ranking Gestapo and some Nazi officers ended up in Nato, they also employed many of the Abwher who were recruited,in other words the third Reich moved from Berlin to Washington.
I welcome the hardships about to be faced by the Great Unwashed of Europe. In the long run it’ll be for the best, shake them out of their comatose state. Riddled with Nazi elements top to bottom, from The Crown to the communal garden slug, err skinhead.
Azov’s unconditional surrender reveals the obvious. Without hiding behind human shields, the neo-Nazis are a military fiasco.
They are nothing but terrorists who specialize in attacking civilians, their main weapons being torture, rape and all sorts of infamy against the defenseless.
Even in World War II, the SS troops never stood out for their achievements on the battlefield.
For Russia, on the other hand, a hard and pressing reckoning with its ghosts of the past is also underway.
When defeating the Nazis in World War II, in its irresistible advance towards Berlin, the USSR liberated the countries of Eastern Europe only to immediately incorporate them into the police state of the Stalinist dictatorship.
Such a mistake cannot be repeated now, when again the Russian military acts as liberators in Eastern Ukraine.
For this, the Donbass needs to be integrated into a Federation whose priority characteristic, in its internal sphere, should be multipolarity (even if balanced) among its members.
At the time of surrender, the Azov outnumbered the DPR troops pinning them down. Never even tried a breakout. Just a paramilitary gang only really good for brutal occupation duties. They didn’t have a record for much beyond running away during the ATO either.
The “brave sir Robin” of the Ukrainian military.
There are reports of attempts by Azov to break through the siege, but they were promptly repulsed.
Terrorist paramilitary groups acting to assassinate social and political opposition leaders are very common in Latin America, especially in Colombia, Mexico and Chile. And also in Brazil, especially in rural areas.
Azov and the other neo-Nazi armed organizations in Ukraine are the inverse of Hezbollah.
Hezbollah also started as a militia, and today is a combat-trained military force that is greatly feared by the IDF.
Nonsense, Ukraine has lost any right to determine its future. It sold its soul to the devil and what Russia don’t want should be a buffer state, keeping US-NATO OUT.
“Ukraine” has not lost any right to determine its future. It is exactly the opposite!
Because the Donbass People’s Republics have won by arms, in a struggle since 2014, their sovereignty and self-determination.
Ukraine is not a homogeneous society, just like Russia or any other country in the world.
I think Russia has reinvented the art of war, while United States was napping.
After watching many videos, I noticed that the Russians lay down a pretty moderate non-specific artillery bombardment, which drives the Ukrainians into their trenches. And once they are in the trenches they take out the trenches with pinpoint accuracy. The last place I would want to be in this war is in a pre-prepared fortification that was not build like the Maginot Line. In addition to the horrific losses the Ukrainians are taking, not having a “safe” field fortification to call home is psychologically brutal.

And sure enough, others have noted the same thing. This is an old article (2016) but some saw this coming:
How the Pentagon is Preparing for a Tank War With Russia
These days, the charismatic director of the Army’s Capabilities Integration Center is knee-deep in a project called The Russia New Generation Warfare study, an analysis of how Russia is re-inventing land warfare in the mud of Eastern Ukraine. Speaking recently at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C., McMaster said that the two-year-old conflict had revealed that the Russians have superior artillery firepower, better combat vehicles, and have learned sophisticated use of UAVs for tactical effect. Should U.S. forces find themselves in a land war with Russia, he said, they would be in for a rude, cold awakening.

The Pentagon today appears to be promoting wokeism in every aspect of its readiness. Joint chiefs of staff are selected by what “checkboxes” they belong to. Discipline in the ranks is secondary to what pronoun you have to be identified as.
The ability to break things and inflict pain on their adversary has been taken over by a progressive agenda.
Don’t kid yourself. Their ability to break thaings and inflict pint is off the charts. But it’s only on civilians and US citizens who have a completely bankrupted country to thank them for.
Read Andrei Martyanov, The Real Revolution In Military Affairs. Also reference his blog Reminesenxe of the Future.
I was an infantry officer in Vietnam in 1968-69. Ground operations were predicated on total air supremacy. Combat air assaults with helicopters were predicated on total air supremacy. Construction and maintenance of remote fire support bases was predicated on total air and artillery supremacy. US ground troops counted on unlimited support from the air and from artillery batteries.
The Russian ground forces have what we had in Vietnam and more so. Today’s infantry has systems capable of delivering precisely guided projectiles to the target. Once found, enemy soldiers have no place of refuge.
All of this must be self-evident to the Ukrainian troops. What is the point of advancing, retreating and/or any kind of repositioning. Once your location is registered with the fire support center, your existence is reduced to minutes or seconds.
Peter: Thanks for that clarification. After watching many videos I just noticed the Russians seem to deliberately want the Ukrainians located in their pre-prepared fortifications, which seems counterintuitive to the normal “hunker down in safety and wait out the artillery bombardment” tactic.
Also, during the GPW the Germans preferred trench systems, presumably for the increased comfort, communication, comradery and ability to counterattack, whereas the Red Army preferred isolated fox holes, forgoing the above benefits, but making it very difficult for the Germans to locate the defenders. If you read the German field reports they were often amazed at the Russian soldier’s ability to exist for days and even weeks in such primitive holes. I just don’t see the Western mercs, like Cossakgundi, being attracted to that type of bleak solitary existence nor the Ukrainians press ganged into frontline service.
The more I see, the more impressed I am with the Russia’s military thinking, innovations and science.
FWIW I recall that either the Commandante or El Che wrote that in Cuban Revolution the fellas never slept in a dwelling, nor in the same place twice. As a principle that’s probably true, for obvious reasons, but it’s also not quite true…they did establish semi-permanent base in mountain jungle, with even generator and clandestine broadcasts (Batista raided it after awhile). Many men found the necessary privations too much. Of course that was long ago and on another scale. But the general idea of “if they’re not shooting at you it’s because they haven’t seen you, yet” = “prepared fortification is prepared trap”, as the structure has been registered or will soon be.
Interesting article. Interesting in the fact that it is a complete 180 degree turn on what the narrative is coming out of the media in the United States. In short, according to the American media, the war is over. And on a side note, Putin is on his death bed.
Behind every criminal organisation/militia lurk the puppet masters. 9/10 of these Azov patsies are disillusioned failures who never read a book at school, who were generally disenfranchised from society, misfits, loners, growing up we’d call them weirdos. Individually, pathetic awkward social creatures, ripe for indoctrination, emboldened in numbers, a cocktail/recipe for depravity.
Again it’s the puppet master(s) that need to stand trial and Russia should make every effort to return Kolomoisky from Israel or from which rat-hole he’s taken refuge. Yes round up his commanders and have them sit in the dock behind him. Many will sing for their lives and alongside Kolomoisky will be Ukrainian war criminals in various Ukrainian Ministries (Interior, defence and more ). Yes these are the US collaborators.
We’re not finished there. Intelligence Services (oxymoron – UK Germany- France )/NATO members, individual countries must be held to account, Poland straight off the bat, who are illegal gun/armaments running. However, all roads will lead to the criminal Masterminds and Crime Syndicates in the US Government-Congress-Senate, Corporate America and the US War Machine driven by The Federal Reserve Bank.
As Berlusconi stated in the last thread attached in the article, right at the very bottom of the page – there’s no world leader who can sit down and negotiate with Putin on Ukraine – The worthless sack-of-shit sitting in the Oval Office gave up that right when calling President Putin a war-criminal (ain’t that rich coming from a genocidal Yank with 5 decades of illegal wars behind him) and in Europe, Scholz has proven his incompetence and lack of backbone, paraphrasing.
The bravery of the Russian-Donbass-Chechen forces must now be reciprocated by the Russian Leadership. Any further genocide of the Russian speaking population will propel this WAR way past the borders of Ukraine and into the heart of Europe and further. This must be made clear, otherwise it’s business as usual and onto the next colour revolution in Russia’s sphere.
Once this is over – there will be indictments for dozens of NATO general officers for crimes of war.
I have to commend Saker staff for the frequent, if not gruesome, sitreps, keep it up, daily if possible.
Thank you, we need to hear from you.
What the hell happened to nightvision?!!!
What have I suggested earlier? The MoD has finally to send search commandos into the underground of Asovstal to clear out every nook and cranny. An ungrateful and dangerous command.
“A thankless task” in English idiom.
They may find mines and booby traps. There will be rotting corpses. And it seems unlikely that any deep underground place has a working sewer system. Those Naughties been down there for weeks.
(thanks to Awful Avalanche blogger “yalensis” for that terminology. it gets around the silly bickering about whether they are zionazis or neonazis or elderly survivors of Hitler’s army or their great-grandchildren)
I would use the very same Azovvstal Ukies who already surrendered to clear the tunnels, let them walk first and clear the way from any potential traps.
Thank you
Great Sitrep.
I have to say that I disagree with the military ways – tactics – applied. Thousands of Ukrainian soldiers are dying and Zelensky this week looked at a camera and smiled and pumped his fist.
Why don’t they bomb the leaders more than anybody else so that they surrender quickly? Would it not be the most efficient, fairest, and a more humane path to follow?
As it is, some who are not attacked give an order where only those young men must die. High ones are out smiling, taking strolls, giving interviews, and talking about never surrendering, even about victory. (Young Russian soldiers die too in a war that continues longer than it should.)
Orders come from your beloved London and D.C. not Kiev.
Even the Ukrainian Mil. after 8 years NATO brainwashing opposed the Island debacle. Overridden by London, and a fiasco.
It is clear UK Foreign Minister Liz Truss has painted a cross-hair on London, without informing hapless voters.
Now, what was that about bombing leaders again?
“Now, what was that about bombing leaders again?”
About the only ones who are not “puppets”, apparently, the Russians like Putin who order the bombing of Ukrainian soldiers and have clarified that they are not aiming at those ordering the soldiers to fight and win, as if soldiers have to be the ones to blame and suffer for all, when these are of course wishing that their leaders surrender so they can come back home to their loved ones.
And those same leaders are saying they’ll never surrender because like this it’s easy to say that, no? They will surrender anyway, but they would surrender far more quickly if treated as the responsible ones (“put them in the trench two days and see if they say the same thing”). That’s what my comment was all about too. Would England and the U.S. have bombed the Nazi leadership directly if they could have, so as to save lives? All will agree that of course they would have, and in 1939 if possible.
And that cross-hair on London that the lovely Liz Truss painted without London voters’ consensus?
Sounds a bit like :
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-10659369/Viewers-new-Channel-4-documentary-Edward-VIIIs-treachery-mind-boggling.html
The King wrote to Hitler to bomb London, putting a cross-hair on London.
Looks like Liz has Royal aspirations, not merely BoJo’s job?
I thought it was amazing how she lectured Lavrov on Ukraine while standing next to him in Moscow. It can be done in a diplomatic way. She did it as if she were a queen and Moscow a colony. You say “lovely”, someone else here but from England said “whore.” How did she get up there? Looks suspicious. It could not have been because of skills in diplomacy; that’s all I know.
Most uplifting comrades! A toast to the heroes and liberators of Donbass. May God guide them in his work, their duties.
As the Boss says – He couldn’t imagine a world without Russia in it, paraphrasing, however, as true as the air which allows us to breathe. We’d be forced back into feudalism, worse still, on an Amazonian styled Jeff Bezos planet with hoses and colostomy bags fitted to our nether regions, the contents which we’d flush on returning home to our gulags, blinds closed lest one of our neighbours would spy on us.
The Americans are banking on a war, in perpetuity, a forever war. They will never accept their medicine and stand down until sacrificing the last useful idiot. Whatever is decided after the liberation of Donbass must include a gathering of all sane nations who together must form a united blueprint/plan to drive out the forces of evil from every corner of the earth that they’ve imposed themselves. Infestation requires extermination at the centre core.
LETTER TO EU
While the jelly languishes,
and water quickly pours into the bath,
I am writing a letter to you in the EU,
to share the news.
We have everything in Russia,
No, we are not hungry at all.
We drink champagne from Crimea
We eat Kamchatka caviar.
McDonald’s is your forgotten long ago,
All the guests fled …
After all, there is nothing tastier anyway,
Fried potatoes, yes with lard.
Gathering dust “Merin” in the garage,
Now in the course of the native “Lada”.
She’s closer to us
Take seedlings to the dacha.
Your dollar is no more
Rubles are now in high esteem with us!
For a dollar even shawarma
You won’t take it in the nearest stall.
All your sanctions at all,
It has long been on the drum.
Don’t scare the people
American boob.
We won’t betray Putin
We are not ukry and suckers.
All for Russia – as one,
And with us jokes are very bad.
Well, you saw how our “Sarmat”,
Takes off proudly, straight to the goal …
There will be no turning back for you
Since you hissed in Russian.
And abroad, how are you?
What life is now?
Has the price of electricity and gas increased?
Are there not enough products?
Wash once a month? well things…
Gasoline is not affordable at all?
And you do not have enough dough,
Already on eggs and sour cream?
So come visit us
We will flood the Russian bathhouse,
Let’s set the table, pour a hundred grams,
For your poor Europe…
We’ll give you more food with you,
We will get wine from the cellar.
After all, our people are invincible,
And we will still remember your EU.
Hold on … it will be difficult for you.
Winter is coming, not far off…
God always judges by deeds
But God is always with Russia… With us!!!
You are there – under the arm of the war.
We are here – in the bosom of the world.
Be patient, faithful sons,
Make no mistake, commanders!
While you were saving the Donbass,
on tanks or with a machine gun – here they lit boilers at the checkout
and stormed ATMs.
The war has opened our eyes,
Who is ready to give to the Motherland:
Someone feels sorry for Instagram
Well, who cares about life.
And the soldier who tears his back
carrying boxes for the front,
Russia loves and saves!
Are you a pop cohort?
Rushed urgently for the cordon,
Saving dollars and villas.
All your songs are empty talk!
From now on, you are not nice to Russians!
Someone’s “formidable” is closer to you,
Miami, Latvian paradises.
No, we are not a sinking ship
But you ran away like rats!
Russia will survive without you!
And without ordinary people – hardly.
Soldier, hungry, will not betray!
Well, you, well-fed, betrayed the country!
And behind the back – the expanse of Russia
Expanses of rivers, forests, fields…
Descendants would not forgive us
Treason to my Motherland!!!

Thanks for sitrep. Good to hear Ukrainians are now realizing that they’ve been lured by the Americans to fight on their behalf for absolutly nothing. Another good news is Rudssia will stop the flow of gas to finland by next day.
The names of officers who abandoned their men should be published so Zelensky can effect their arrest and execution. That should destabilise his regime nicely and bring satisfaction to POWs in Russian custody so they can expose the regime and its evil
“There is mass surrender…”
Honestly. I’m not interested in superlatives. I want more accurate numbers. Around 1,700 surrendering in Azovstal was not surprise at all. In fact they survived surprisingly long period. But is really 20-30 POWs of this and that brigade really prove of gigantic break of Ukie forces?
Almost 2 months ago there was Readovka false claim of whole Ukie brigade surrendering west from Kiev. In fact there were few photos of same around 40 POW’s of that brigade. That’s all. Brigade never surrendered. RF forces retreat from Kiev.
Hope things are going better now but i don’t want to be once again disappointed of hasty conclusions based on little bit wishful thinking.
I mentioned this the other day. The West is pumping weapons into Ukraine, but the problem will be in finding soldiers to replace the ones lost. I suggested that before NATO puts boots on the ground, they would round up the militarily eligible Ukrainian refugees and send them back to Ukraine to fight.
It appears that this might be the first step, from RT:
UKRAINE EYES LAW TO DEPRIVE PEOPLE OF CITIZENSHIP
The proposed law would target men who left the country during martial law and failed to return within 30 days.
https://www.rt.com/news/555835-ukraine-deprive-conscripts-citizenship/
It is a completely diabolical but ingenious system: the United States incites the war, supplies the guns and ammunition and the Ukrainians are forced to fight and die for the Empire of Lies. It can’t get anymore cynical than this and is what happens when you give up your national sovereignty to the United States. IMHO
Expect NATO press gangs rounding up the Ukrainian menfolk working in various NATO countries.
Might be worth 250,000 volksturm
Breaking: Russia now fully controls Azovstal Factory as last remaining holdouts surrender to Russian forces

Before the last Azovites left the tunnels, they blew up something that they didn’t want DPR/Russians to find.
I hope that forensics will find out what is was anyway.

It looks that Gonzalo Lira’s analysis of the last few days, speaking in the Duran was spot on. The Ukraine army is on the fringe of a total collapse, question of days, and it appears that the cracks are already there.
The psychological factor in the mind of the looser will be the final straw.
I have a feeling in coming weeks we will have lots of Headlines like ” Monkey pox” then probably “Donkey pox” etc some sensational child abduction etc.
soon Ukarine will be something to be trotted out to send some more money to the poor MiC of US. After all no point in abandoning a good gig.
Let me get this straight, we Train Arm the Afghan army, Taliban takes over, and it all becomes the Taliban army. We Train and arm Ukraine, Russia takes over, and it all becomes the Russian army. Lets go Brandon.
Was Azov regiment really a elite force?
Let’s remember how German military historians have debunked the myth of Waffen SS as elite army. It mostly never was. In fact average Wehrmacht division was better trained and led than average SS division. And even highly overhyped 1st, 2nd and 3rd SS panzer divisions did not shine in battle as so often believed by Waffen SS fanboyz. If you don’t believe read: Christer Bergström, Ardennes – Hitler’s Winter Offensive. These top SS divisions were Achilles Heel of whole German offensive. Bergström gave lots of examples of SS blunders, arrogance and lack of skills.
When it comes to Azov I have speculated likely same features. Lots of show off and bragging but were they ever really something special with battle skills?
Then there is one thing really puzzling me. Why are we thinking that units with full of soldiers at the age of 30-45 are best, experienced? If military history teach us anything it’s pretty clear that ideal age of combat soldier is actually about 21-27. But now we are seeing lots of fighters at age many WW2 commanders would have estimated as “men with quite low battle value”.
With SS/Azov and age phenomena I’d like to claim that best soldiers still are good behaving young men raised by loving mother and backed by family.

The collapse of the UA forces at large is likely to be ongoing or be days aways at most. Ukraine as a cohesive fighting force capable of defending Ukraine at large is over at this point, in this case Russia will most likely achieve both denazification and demilitarization at large something many in the west said was impossible.
Zelensky was invaluable to achieving both goals which is why I believe the Russians made no effort to take him out and may have even been indirectly protecting him. A more capable commander would have ordered retreats from the east and played for time to get more Western systems as well as played both sides against each other more. This would have lead to much higher Russia casualties.
Instead we have Zelensky who was all too hip to the propaganda war and the noble sounding soundbite of “not retreating an inch” which has directly lead to massive casualties for his armed forces with minimal Russian casualties in the East. What more can Russia want, Zelensky has turned out to be the Russians best friend in all of this.
I suspect Azov and some of the more hardline elements in Ukraine are coming to this realization and it’s going to become very difficult for Zelensky to safely stay in power. As I have said before his time on Earth is slowing ticking down as I believe NATO/US will get rid of him once he is no longer useful and he will not be allowed to retire in the West but will suffer an accident of some sorts. In fact Zelenky’s best bet to stay alive may be to surrender to the Russians and hope to be shown the same mercy his troops are currently receiving.
….Zelensky was invaluable to achieving both goals which is why I believe the Russians made no effort to take him out. A more capable commander would have ordered retreats from the east and played for time to get more Western systems as well as played both sides against each other more. Perhaps in anticipation of the Donbass assault they drafted more than were available in the younger age category. If I remember correctly we were drafting guys in their 40’s in WWII.
Saker Staff, thanks for the great report!
Peresvet Laser Coming to Ukraine!
‘Peresvet’ and ‘Zadira’: Russia unveils new laser weapons against Ukraine war
As the West continues to send arms and pledges to donate billions of dollars as war aid to Ukraine, Russia has claimed that it has deployed its two ‘state-of-the-art’ laser weapon systems—’Peresvet’ and ‘Zadira‘—to burn drones.
The announcement was made by the deputy prime minister and in charge of military development, Yury Borisov, on Thursday who said that even more powerful laser-based weapons capable of destroying their targets are being tested and deployed in the war, according to Reuters.
Detailing the prowess of the lasers, the deputy PM cited a recent test where the Zadira burned a drone more than five kilometres (three miles) away in seconds.
“If Peresvet blinds, then the new generation of laser weapons lead to the physical destruction of the target — thermal destruction, they burn up,” Reuters quoted him as saying on Russian state television.
He called “Zadira” the most powerful laser system than Peresvet.
However, Ukraine President Vlodomyr Zelensky trashed the claims by drawing parallels to Nazi Germany’s “so-called wonder weapons” that were “unveiled in a bid to prevent defeat in World War Two.”
“The clearer it became that they had no chance in the war, the more propaganda there was about an amazing weapon that would be so powerful as to ensure a turning point,” Reuters quoted him as saying in a late night video address.
What do we know about the two laser weapons?
1) Russian leader Vladimir Putin had unveiled an array of new and deadly weapons in 2018, including an intercontinental ballistic missile, underwater nuclear drones, a supersonic weapon and a laser system.
2) Little is known about the specifics of the new laser. Putin back then mentioned Peresvet, named after a medieval Orthodox warrior monk Alexander Peresvet who perished in mortal combat.
3) Borisov said that Peresvet was already being widely deployed and it could blind satellites up to 1,500 km above Earth.
Also read | US to send additional military aid of $100 million to help Ukraine in ongoing conflict
4) Asked if such weapons were being used in Ukraine, Borisov said: “Yes. The first prototypes are already being used there.” He said the weapon was called “Zadira”.
Also read | In exclusive interview to WION, Chechen leader says Russian operation’s end depends on Ukrainian govt
5) Though there is no public information available about Zadira, the Russian media in 2017 said that state nuclear corporation Rosatom helped develop it as part of a programme to create weapons-based new physical principles.
https://www.wionews.com/world/peresvet-and-zadira-russia-unveils-new-laser-weapons-against-ukraine-war-480775
Peresvet, like other new weapons, are Nuclear powered, reach by laser Low Earth Orbit.
Which means Starlink, many other spotter sats, are easy meat.
GPS at 20,000km possibly safe, Glonass also (blinded?). Spectrum? – don’t ask, don’t say.
Rogozin of Rosskosmos accused Musk of providing Starlink to Azov – Musk tweeted that if he disappears, nice knwin’ ya. This ain’t rocket science!
UK dual use sats, also warned about, look like target practice.
Space debris clean-up is a nice optional side-show.
They really need to take down Starlink with the Peresvet! That should have been done 3 months ago. The Azov’s were using it for their internet.
Direct ascent anti-satellite test (ASAT). Remember remember the 15th of November 2021 with Russia sending America a message by destroying their early 80’s satellite. Shot both the satellite and US nerves to pieces.
the brits with enigma continued to read nazi mail w/o giving any hints of being able to do so—it’s possible russia has been reading nato’s mail.
Apart from the clear evidence that Zelensky’s comments are meaningless, the Russian development of even modest-range directed energy weapons HAS (not “might”) provided a highly cost-effective means to deal with the smaller UAVs. The fact that such systems ARE being deployed also means such systems are being operated in a genuine battlefield environment, and of course information gathered on use and performance is going to be of very significant future refinement / development value.
On the economic front, the armaments purchasers of the “non-Vassal” Countries will be noticing the (poor) performance of the (costly) US/NATO hardware, and comparing such performance with the (superior) performance of (lower cost) Russian hardware, especially in their use of rapid-computation targeting systems rather than built-in (so expended) ordnance guidance. You can buy a very large number of diverse 155mm rounds for the cost of just the ONE Javelin ATGM, and if just the one round (assisted with a sophisticated targeting system) provides an equivalent kill probability, then this will certainly be noticed.
I would suspect that the SMO might have a significant hidden “Rouble benefit” for the Russian economy down the line. So much for the “Gas Station masquerading as a Country” comment by McCain in March 2014.
I’m sure this issue has been discussed – and laughed about – already. But I’ll raise it again. The issue concerns MSM’s handling of the Ukie surrender at Mariupol.
MSM is calling the surrender an “evacuation.” Sometimes it’s called “completion of combat duty,” or something like that. Can you believe it? My God…when will this Orwellian twisting of truth stop? It is driving me crazy. Why can’t US/UK media use simple, direct, accurate language to report the facts about this war?
“Ukraine evacuated its remaining combatants from the city earlier this week…” That’s exactly how the sentence reads in an article published this afternoon by one of America’s most respected newspapers. I’m not kidding. I did not make this up. That newspaper is really calling the Ukie surrender an “evacuation.”
Don’t these pro-Ukie, anti-Russian propagandists have any respect for the mental level or their readers? I’m half ready to vomit because so, so much of US/UK mainstream media is resorting to this maddening double-speak.
Lots of other MSM articles seem to have given up referring to “Russians” and “Ukies,” as you’d expect normal media outlets to do. Instead, they are referring to the warring sides as “defenders” and “invaders.” Seriously. As if the war reporting concerns a video game, and not the real world. The people behind this Orwellian manipulation of language must be convinced the average US or UK reader is a sub-moron.
I could go on and on about the countless other verbally manipulative tricks MSM is using to induce credulous readers that the Ukies are the “good guys” and the Russians are “bad guys.” But I’ll leave it at that.
@ GW
“Evacuation mission…” laughing my Azov off…
The degree of deceit and promotion of delusion of the MSM knows no shame. How the defeat is portrayed, is irrelevant. If you close the door to reality, it will enter through the window. Azovstal is in Russia’s hands, Azovstsy manure as the Russians are calling them, are now in security prisons in Donbass and Rostov.
Who cares what the presstitutes have to say?
Lone Wolf
It’s just ‘Laughing My Azov’ No need for the ‘off’ because ‘Azov’ = ‘Ass off’
Thanks
The US spend 100’s of $Billion indoctrinating them cradle to grave; you can never underestimate the levels of their stupidity. Think adults taking out subprime mortgages (buying at the height ) from folks who worked as pizza delivery boys & girls 2 weeks prior. Think 9/11 and buildings collapsing unaided. They still think Osama Bin Laden pulled that job from his cave in the mountains of Afghanistan. The UK are not far behind and its a waste of time attempting to get through their imbecilic mindsets.
Regarding the media presstitutes – when their very livelihood depends on it they’ll accuse their own parents of being Putin stooges.
To think that some one in the UK /US gets highly paid to make up the total drivel/BS that Zelensky spouts!!

‼️According to the latest information, the following surrendered from AzovStal: US General Eric Olson, British Lieutenant Colonel John Bailey and four NATO military instructors.
This is the second time on records that these people surrendered. How many times are they allowed to change their mind?
Last few elections Ukraine did not allow many Rooskie speaking Ukrainians to vote.
Soon, there will be another election in Ukraine.
But this next election the Rooskie speaking Ukrainians will have their vote counted.
A new administration will come into power in Kiev based on the will of the people but not excluding a sizable portion of the people like the last few elections.
I don’t expect the next administration in Kiev to be as favorable towards NATO as the last few.
I don’t think the Russian-speaking population will have much of an impact on the next Ukrainian government, for the simple reason that they won’t be in Ukraine any more ;-)
Can we finally be clear that there is no Ukrainian language – it’s just a dialect of Russian.
Russia has woken to keeping away from the major cities, they are death traps.
Fight as far away as possible from the Ukraine supply lines, keep hitting fuel and food storage and rail as far west as possible, so all supplies must be driven in from Polish border.
The U.S can supply plenty of arms but if you cannot get them to the front in significant numbers to make a difference then the U.S has just wasted 56 billion dollars.
I suggest these arms are meant for an ongoing insurgency.
The Ukrainian military will have used most of the diesel storage in the farms and towns close to the front, so there will be starvation as crops needed for the third world will not be harvested.
This is Russias’ and Chinas’ chance to buy friends since the U.S will only look to profit on such misery.
The Russians cannot defeat and occupy the whole of Ukraine but Ukraine cannot control their economy anymore without Poland allowing transit over their territory.
The U.S “new cold war” is going to destroy them.

The implication of this is that a laser weapon was used to intercept all or most of one volley from a multiple launch rocket system; I can’t think of anything else that would do it.
This has enormous implications for the West.
I think you’re right!

There’s a “New York” in the Donetsk Republic?!? Or an obvious mistype that came out of some machine translation?
And what’s the Wagner in “Wagner’s music” referring to? The private mercenary “Wagner Group” that are touted in the West for red-herring claim of fascist elements in Russian forces (almost always as a resort to Azov & all other Banderista elements)? If yes, that’s the 1st time ever I’ve ever seen any direct reference to those guys. I wonder WHY would there even be any such direct reference to them by calling them out like this?!? To the best of my knowledge, none of those private mercenary guys are in any way involved in any of these military operations.
Yes, there is a New York. There are probably dozens or hundreds all over the world:

But… But.. Your comment on Azovstal surrender isn’t really correct ??
We have comments from Ukrainian President Zelensky, that the Ukrainian Army in Azovstal was evacuated ??
Quote: the government in Kiev announced the “end of combat operations” in Mariupol and said it had ordered the Azovstal troops to save their lives. President Volodymyr Zelensky personally said on May 18 that the “evacuation mission” from Azovstal was being “supervised by our military and intelligence officers” with the involvement of “the most influential international mediators.”
Which the UN immediately dismissed any involvement. Caught in another LIE.
