Dear friends,
I will be gone most of the day and unable to do much besides moderating comments from my car. If I get SITREPs today I will post them this evening. I just wanted to let you know that I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the hell was really going on at the Lugansk airport and my best guess is that the Ukies are still on control of it and that they are still surrounded. I am extremely unsure about that as both sides continue to claim that they control it. My best guess is that a Ukie column did succeed in breaking through the Resistance positions and join the Ukie forces at the airport, but that it was greatly weakened by numerous Resistance attacks and that the airport is surrounded again. In other words, the Resistance statement that the airport had been taken appears to be false.
I have see no fresh news from the “southern cauldron” or from the Donetsk airport. Two Russian paratroopers were apparently killed by Ukie fire on the Russian border. That’s all I have right now.
See you all this evening, now the thread is yours.
Kind regards,
The Saker

Weinstein bros’ true dedication?
Andrew,
Thanks for the detailed replies.
I see the division of Ukraine into smaller pieces as the way it will be, also.
We are on the same page with this thing. I begin with the overarching concept that Russia cannot abide a Ukraine as the West desires. From there I extrapolated that facts on the ground would constantly be altered as needed by Putin and the RF armed forces planners.
You have supplied the cultural history, the geographical neighborhood history and expertise and sources.
I had high hopes it would work out this way. I am a believer that evil must be confronted and killed.
In the history of Russia, where does this confrontation rank? I see it as all or nothing in threat. But a triumph sometimes leads to other dangers. Does this solidify a buffer or moves the western border closer to NATO?
It is now looking like Strelkov’s ‘retreat’ from Slavyansk and the pull back of the other outliers is paying off and what is occurring now appears much more as a set of battles between relatively equivalent forces. I am guessing that Kiev lacks experienced commanders as well as troops, so this would tend to negate their overall numeric advantage.
There has been some commentary that the junta deployment along the border was foolish and it is surely a problem for them now, but if you look at how the conflict developed I think it is understandable. Poroshenko said when he took office that the ‘anti-terror’ campaign in the east would last hours and he likely believed that it could be wrapped up very quickly. After all he had overwhelming numerical superiority and the militia had almost no armor and no aa capability and the Americans had promised him help. Kiev probably thought that an over all strategy that looked out over 1 or 2 months was not necessary. All they had to do was gather forces and attack the militia where they raised their flags and seal off the border with Russia (and Crimea although they might have been late to realize that – force of habit).
Because the militia very quickly got effective military commanders they were able to hold off the attackers and begin the process of acquiring hardware and sufficient troops. They were much more careful with resources than the junta as well.
The well defended flag points served to attract the attackers – for PR reasons probably as much as anything. I am sure things like the ANNA news and political pronouncements from the DPR/LPR drove Kiev into apoplectic fits.
Now the militia has sufficient people and armor to put up a real fight AND I have no doubt that their planning has been well ahead of Kiev for quite some time. They have a strategy and are implementing it while Kiev is reacting for the most part.
Hard to say if the militia has enough forces and momentum to push junta forces all the way back to the Novorussia borders. I would guess no at this point.
I am still thinking that Kiev cannot afford to negotiate a settlement without this leading to their ouster by Right Sector and friends.
On the Apache helicopters turned Huey:
Украинские боевые вертолеты над Днепропетровском
American Bell UH-1 Iroquois helicopters in fake Ukraine colors are now flying from the US base in Dnepropetrovsk. I do not think there can be a single person in Dnepropetrovsk who does not see this for what it is, American military occupation of Ukraine. Earlier in April I saw US Predator drones flying the same route in Dnepropetrovsk.
The helicopters are a major escalation. What the US is doing is marking its new sphere of influence. In the end Dnepropetrovsk will have to be militarily attacked and the US base destroyed. In the worst case it will be done with Russian tactical warheads.
As for humor: Apocalypse Now!
I think the video of the Hueys flying over Dnepropetrovsk can be turned into the greatest PR catastrophe of all times! Someone should take the Ride of the Valkyries soundtrack from Apocalypse Now, and mix it with video footage from Crimean vacation beaches and of Ukraine UH-1 Iroquois helicopters with some other NazGuard attacks. (This is a serious request!)
Access to the Ride of the Valkyries video clip from Apocalypse Now is restricted on YouTube. This one plays in Finland and I guess everywhere.

“There is even a Serb platoon now in Lugansk, growing towards company size”
According to my sources there are quite a few more than a company of Serbs serving with the NDF & not just in the Lugansk area.
Remember, Strelkov has Bosnian Serb comrades & Vladimir Vladimirovich has lots of “Nochniye Volki” Serbian comrades that can always be counted on to “help a brother out” fighting fascists :)

The Great Donbass Fish-In-A-Barrel Shoot of 2014 has begun south of Shakhstarsk, as the UAF 79th attempts to breakout of the encirclment, while NAF forces in the Saur-Mogila-Snizhne-Torez area move in for the kill from their blocking positions.
So many men must be thinking right now, oh, if I only I had stuck my bayonet in the ground and walked away! Well, there is still two moves for anyone not prepared to meet the Great Judge – the old white flag, or run away to Mother Russia.
Forgot to sign my post @ 22:53.
Andrew – I don’t think fleeing to Russia is an option for them as they will be considered hostile military force. Rumors some tried and were attacked.

Dear karlof1, pleased you are concerned with war crimes. Such a nice sentiment when your Nazis have been committing every sort of war crime ever heard of, except I haven’t heard of the Nazi’s using Napalm, yet. I get it you don’t want to give them ideas. They kill our wounded, torture our children, maybe they just need a better, more ethical example. I don’t expect that the leadership wants to do something radical for political reasons. I respect that, they take responsibility for prosecuting the war to victory in the best way possible. On the other hand, the weaker side in an asymmetric war has to be willing to be creative to win against depraved war criminals, like today’s American War Machine (completely the opposite of the Services my parents fought in -oh, my mom is passed so I will have to thank you for insulting her Service record). But maybe you are holding your breath for the good will of Nations to come to your aide because you are so correct. No significant nation, including Russia, dares even to admit you exist. Most in the West, dependent on mass media, has any idea of what the Kiev psychopaths call “subhumans” and “terrorist” actually are. So, to your lights, and maybe you are correct, a small country must stick closely to the rules of war, even at the cost of defeat. Perhaps, for you, that guarantees rewards in Heaven. Personally I am more concerned about the lives of living children being tortured and murdered in the street. To each his own, I suppose. Certainly, by the rules of war each soldier is personally responsible for his or her conduct and may refuse to follow what is believed to be an illegal order. So what is your plan for saving the children. A tidy argument perhaps. Good luck with that. Personally, I see no respect for any rules of war being honored, quite the opposite.
Herb
Nora,
This article by Jon Rappoport reminded me of the discussion between you and the Saker (I believe in one of yesterday’s threads) about you taking on the guilt and responsibility of the wrongdoing of the USA, simply because you are a citizen there.
Rappoport speaks of government and corporate criminals who never are punished, and regular American citizens are supposed to feel guilty for their sins.
Here is the crux, and it applies to immigration and other crises: the justice system is supposed to root out criminals and punish them. In this case, we’re talking about those high-level US government officials and mega-corporate executives who, for a very long time, have been plundering the underdeveloped world. There is the guilt. There is the target. There is the crime, for which unlimited immigration is supposed to be payback. But when justice doesn’t prevail, when the people who should be prosecuting crimes are allied with those committing the crimes, nothing happens. And then, voila, the generality appears. “All Americans are guilty of international plunder.”
No, the real psyop here is: those corporations deflect guilt for crimes they commit abroad on to the entire American population.

The Ukies need clean underware to wave when they surrender. Didn’t their mothers tell them to always have clean under ware?
I realize they have had good reason to soil themselves, but a nice white flag is supposed to be part of the Ukie regalia. First the swastika and then the white flag.
Well, at least they speak the language, so the militia will hear them clearly.
One of the very smart things the militia has done is treat the prisoners well, let them call their mothers and try to exchange them out for militiamen.
If it’s safe to surrender, the Ukies will do it in whole units soon. Why die for people you know are corrupt? There may be some sense of Ukraine as a country, but not a history worth dying for.
The paid contract soldiers haven’t been paid, the conscripts are cannon fodder, and the new recruits are Shanghaied into service. That’s an army looking for a way home not into battle.
The Russians ought to offer the 79th sanctuary. They could go home in one piece when its all over.
They are supposed to be a mobile battalion, using helos. So, now they have to move with little armor protection. Maybe Kiev has dropped them scooters and bikes to get out of there.
Ukraine controls the alcoholic. Poroshenko drunken swings ATO in a drunken stupor.

Junta has finally lost all initiative across the entire military theatre. The complete routing of the southern cauldron is almost fait accompli. The defeat of the punitive forces near Lugansk is obvious to everyone…

This was reported in the press service of the so-called Ministry of defense of Ukraine.

The junta finally lost the initiative in the whole theatre of war. The defeat of the South boiler almost accomplished fact. The defeat of the Germans under the Lugansk already clear to all. Thus in the next few days should be expected to sweep the southern border, trying to smooth out the Luhansk and Donetsk airports. After the “mastering” trophies forces militia and guards of at least equal (for the last two days “recharge” in heavy machinery already tens units), which will allow to start a large-scale offensive operations.”
One can tell how desperate the ZPC/NWO fascists are now by this quisling’s proposal:

“Ukraine continue to seriously discuss how not only to stand in the “war on Russia”but to bring the case to all-Ukrainian “victory”. On the eve of one of svidomij Ukrainian publications “Khvylya” published material political scientist Yuriy Romanenko, in which he calls on the authorities to conduct a large-scale mobilisation in Ukraine and call an operation in the Donbass, not just “ARO”and the war with Russia.
Romanenko offers put a gun up to half a million Ukrainian citizenswhile making an interesting conclusion. In his opinion, Russia priori could not stand against Ukraine proportionate half million army.
And the Romanenko is going to enter these half a million people? And why is he still not on Donbass?
In addition to setting under the gun 500 thousand Ukrainians, the author of the article is going to introduce censorship in the Ukrainian media. Yes… And all believed that censorship and without representations political scientist Romanenko is the basis ukrasnistarting from maidannyk vicissitudes.
A few quotes compressed thoughts Romanenko on the portal “Khvylya”:
Nationalization of all property in persons related separatists, first of all, financiers and organzers.
The formation of a large defensive order under total re-equipping of security forces, it compensates for the loss of the Russian market and partially solve the problem of unemployment.
Do “everything for the front, everything for the victory” in acrobalance?
The offer of a military-political Union with the US, Poland and Turkey. No wasted time on NATO and the EU. It’s hopeless.
The introduction of martial law in Donbass.
These are political scientists today in Ukraine…”
How long before the ZPC/NWO sends in U.S. troops openly?

As for guilt of an American citizen:
I say bullish*t to anyone who thinks Americans can alter the Hegemon and the corrupt DC government.
When they shot JFK, the game ended, they took it all from the Constitution down to the local control. Even conservatives fell into step. Every ideology, each party had a war or two, enemies they wanted to battle in the world. And citizens were trampled.
All we can do is try to help the rest of the world undermine the Hegemonic evil.
Finding new candidates won’t work. And the Cult of Liberalism has captured the public school system, so the minds of the last three generations are bent wrong from the get go.
What we can do is shine a light on the evil our government does. Speak out, document the machinations and face it down.
I am sure that they have me tracked to my IP address, all my devices and avatars. You know what? They are frightened to death of people like me. I”ve done it in Federal proceedings, ripped them apart, and been paid as the victor. And my kids don’t take prisoners either.
Being an American used to mean something noble. Even in spite of our government, the people knew right from wrong. What became of that America? Fear. And loss of their moral bearings that were grounded in something called GOD, Christ, spirituality.
It still exists in pockets of the country. Some families, some communities. But we are the minority now. So it is more difficult to have heart and confront an overwhelming demon.
That is what was so enlightening about finding Russia and Russians and Orthodox foundations as the hope of the world. It is awesome to think that there are people who are just as we once were and who are bravely fighting our Tyrant, too.
I am sure some of you think I am out of my mind with my prognosticacian about NAF rolling to Kiev, but I believe we are seeing a great victory unfolding for the NAF in Saur Mogila with the blocking of the Ukrainian armor assualt force, and there is a potential for the NAF not only to inflict a significant loss in manpower on the UAF, but to capture an enormous amount of armor and artillery.
Just so you know I am on the up and up I’ve been talking about this NAF plan we see unfolding here for a month now. See my comments on June 17 @00:28 and June 21 @14:25 here:

Trick the UAF into attacking the border by falling back under light resistance, and then surprise them with a huge blocking force and pinch the ends of the pincers off.
In order to make sure you don’t think I am crazy, you need to understand that the UAF also sees what is happening, and is preparing to fall back to Berdyansk along the Azov Sea in Zaporozhye Oblast and give up Mariupol after the liquidation of the pocket, because significant NAF forces will be freed for offensive operations to the south once this threat is terminated, while the UAF has next to no forces in that direction.
I have also mentioend before here that the Kiev Coup government has roadblock checkpoints throughout southeastern Ukraine from Odessa to Kharkov due to its lack of trust of the Ukrainian Russian population. The UAF are now preparing to fall back as far as Berdyansk.

In the Zaporozhye region began to strengthen roadblocks in anticipation of the militias
July 15, 2014 20:25
Moscow. on 15 July. INTERFAX.RU – In Berdyansk, Zaporozhye region of Ukraine paramilitary checkpoints on the roads increase paramilitary checkpoints with tanks, armored personnel carriers, armoured fighting vehicles of infantry and other heavy military equipment.
As have informed Agency “Interfax” the Commissioner Berdyansk military Commissariat Sergey Volkov, this is done “for a meeting of militants from neighboring Donetsk region, which may enter the territory of Zaporizhzhya region together with the flow of refugees.”
“At the Council of defense of the region it was decided to strengthen our checkpoints, which are situated around the town. This is due to the fact that here we have a border with the Donetsk oblast is 70 kilometres, and pass the main highways – Mariupol – Odessa. We have also established checkpoints near the sea at the entrance to the city and on the Central forks. That is, all the city was blocked by such internal roadblocks and road. One task is to prevent breakthrough militants, and to prevent the transport of weapons to the territory of Berdyansk area”, said Volkov.
Also, he noted that the service on the posts are professional soldiers of the Ukrainian army, including mobilized, which are able to take up arms and are operating around the clock”.
Why do I sense this is a dangerous time re: Crimea
Larchmonter445:
The Russians ought to offer the 79th sanctuary. They could go home in one piece when its all over.
The 79th Airborne is a potential constiuent part of the NAF once it becomes clear the way the winds are blowing given that it comes from Mykolaiv. I suspect Russia would be tolerant of it in the interim, as would the NAF, and its likely many of the troops could be turned if captured by the NAF. There is a rumor that 300 troops already surrendered at Saur Mogila a couple of days ago, and these would likely be elements of the 79th and would explain the guy on the Ukraine 112 TV phone interview saying the Batallion had fallen to half strength (from around 800 to 400).
On the other hand, the 24th Mechanized is a Banderastan based brigade from Lviv and Rivne and needs to be treated as the Nazi enemy force that it is. In terms of humanity, the best thing that could happen to it would be to push it into Russia and let the Russians intern them as hostile enemy forces.
Today a new nation was formed – Novorossia – with a new constitution. Today, the battle turned. Tomorrow, Odessa, Kharkov, Kiev, Israel.

These old choppers are easy to shoot down. I wouldn’t lose any sleep over them.
Larchmonter445:
In the history of Russia, where does this confrontation rank? I see it as all or nothing in threat.
It is, but it is not the same quality of immediate threat as the armed occupations of Moscow in 1612 and 1812 and the near capture of 1941.
It is really identical to the threat of the defeat of the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk in 1918 nd coverign the same theater (Finland to Georgia), but without the ongoing civil war in Russia proper.
I would therefore rank this confrontation as the 5th most dangerous since the Mongol Yoke was thrown off.
But a triumph sometimes leads to other dangers.
Humility dictates realizing that the eventual loss of the provinces of Ultima Banderstan (again) is not a triumph for Russian people. It is unfortunate that Galicia, Podolia, and Volyn will need to be isolated in an asylum from other Rus people for their own good, and that the faithful Rusyns of Transcarpathia will again be separated and divided from Mother Russia.
What this event portends to be is a defeat of a momentous offensive parry by the enemy, but with losses to the Russian people too.
Does this solidify a buffer or moves the western border closer to NATO?
Well, I’ve said before the goal should be for the NAF to occupy the blue and isolate the red:
http://www.veooz.com/photos/QGvk8Ck.html
It is very likely that Ultima Banderstan is going to end up under complete western/Polish sway. Its what the West Ukrainians want, one should not hinder them.
A proper Novorossiya will be a faithful Little Russia like Belarus and thus a buffer of Russia proper. I again encourage the planners of this adventure if any of them read this blog to consider the need to cleanse Novorossiya of the poison that has enveloped the land and MOVE THE CAPITAL OUT OF KIEV. This will cleanse the rats out and encourage many to return to Ultima Banderstan from whence they came when they lose their jobs. Kiev can remain a spiritual capital and a major city on its own, but the political capital should move somewhere more ideologically and geogrpahically appropriate to Novorossiya – either Kremenchug, Dnipropetrovsk, or Zaporozhye, and should have a new name – St. Vladimir. This will be a symbolic parallel of the purpose of St. Petersburg, but instead of looking out to the west will be a chance for all of Russia to look inwards to recapture its own spiritual history disrupted by the abolition of the Patriarchate in the 1700’s and then the anti-religious attacks of the Communist Revolution in 1917.
A solid Novorossiya does solidfy the buffer, leaving only three things to still be dealt with – Georgia, Latvia, and Estonia. I had previously discounted Russian adventurism in the Baltics, but thinking about this more, I think that eventually the problem of NATO states on the Russian border near St. Petersburg will be dealt with. With the eventual resolution of the Ukraine and Georgia crises and the solidification of Eurasia including Iran, China, India, Iraq, and Syria, it will be necessary to parry the final NATO bulge and neutralize it by getting Estonia and Latvia to become neutral countries.

Mariupol? Don’t think so.
Look at how much of a headache taking out Yanukovich created. And Mariupol is under protection of the richest oligarch in Ukraine.
Nobody will be touching it, it will remain Akhmetov’s personal city.

The NDF will need a lot more fighters & support personnel to fight it’s way to Kiev, Odessa, etc.,
As supply lines stretch & get a lot longer, things get more difficult real quick.

It is a stated goal of the NAF leaders to return to Mariupol.
As to it being Akhmetov’s city, I will again point out that it is Akhmetov’s city precisely because an MOU was created between Akhmetov/Metinvest and the DNR on May 16, 2014 whereby the defense of the city was handed over to Akhmetov to free DNR forces to secure the interior of the country.
While Akhmetov has a personal army of 3000, he does not have the tanks and artillery of the NAF, which also has 10 times the men. However, that is beside the point as there is not a real conflict between them. In reality, Akhmetov’s forces will continue to secure the city and free the NAF of the need to station a batallion there if it can proceed to Melitopol. This is a most useful agreement.
Larchmonter445,
Were you old enough to know what-all was going on in 1963 and thereabouts, or have you just read about it? I agree it was a watershed of sorts but things actually started to go South right after WWII when the OSS Yalies hooked up with all the ex-Nazis we imported, renamed themselves the CIA and invented the Cold War. Kennedy died in part bc he dared to challenge their way of doing business, but they’d already done a whole lot of it…
Secondly, I find it fascinating that you remember beliving that *being* an American meant something noble bc actually that is a rather recent invention. Certainly neither my generation nor any before me believed that American Exceptionalism referred to us as *people*: rather, it was our political system and way of life. There was WASP superiority, and racial superiority, of course, and intense pride that our country was Number One, but no sense that all Americans were inherently exceptional people: we just were on the best team, just like the NY Yankees in all those old World Series –unless of course you were a Dodgers fan! (And yeah, I went for the Dodgers precisely bc they were the underdog — and I remember way before that wondering how a Swiss girl my age could cope with her country not being Number One like us or even Two like Russia, but way down somewhere on the list. But you will note it was being on a winning team, not anything inherent to me.) My guess is the concept of us as exceptional people began right around the time Jerry Falwell et. al. aligned with Israel and Reagan and Christian Zionism became a real force but the phrase “American Exceptionalism” as applied to inherent personal or moral characteristics attained via having been born here really took off post- 9/11.
Andrew,
I’ve said it before, it is like going to a college class conversing with you and getting my queries answered.
St. Vladimir—quite appropriate. Bravo. And thank you.
There was a myth in Latin America for many generations that there was a spiritual shield around Fidel all those years that kept him safe from the assassins sent by Washington. I wonder if Putin got that shield on the visit to Cuba. Meanwhile, a good thought and prayer for Vlad would be another positive act for those who believe.
Folks,
A reminder to all that scores are in serious condition in Moscow hospitals, and thousands are still in jeopardy all over Novorossiya. Keep them in mind and in prayer.
I’ve done chains of human thought and prayer before and it always seemed to turn a tide for the good. Up and down the hemispheres or across the oceans and land masses, when minds focus and hearts beat together, miracles and victories happen.
Novorossia is the event I’ve been waiting for all my life, the beginning of the defeat of the US, which I’ve been trying to contribute to in my own way as an American. This is certainly the most important event in world history since the breakup of the Soviet Union.
I don’t see Novorossia as merely an appendage of Russia, but a nation living up to its name, New Russia, where the best aspects of Russia, the USSR, Christianity, Islam, come together and point towards the future. Novorossia will end up being more of a bridge to the West than western rump Ukraine.
Financed by the NBS, retooled and rebuilt for the future, armed to the teeth and standing as the front line against America.
Thank you Novorussians!
Andrew,
It’s a long way to Kiev and I don’t see the path… well if the junta keeps up the fight and is pushed that far in retreat but frankly I see collapse and chaos before that point and some kind of negotiated settlement. I mean that I see the current government as far too weak and unstable to prosecute the war for that long. In fact I expect it to fail if Novorussia can simply expand to its stated borders, defend them and demand substantial negotiations. But then what… no idea where that leads. What about the oligarchs? You expect them to skip town? Is the developing political leadership of Novorussia up for governing effectively – even just in their own region?
Anyway many eggs not hatched yet and I am not sure what kind of fowls (or dragons) might emerge.
BTW I well remember your posts about the ‘sausage’ along the border – well before the militia had the means to attack it.
@Larchmonter445 (01:03) — good outline of the core issue, imo. Unfortunately no easy task to reform when the criminal class holds the power and public opinion is locked away in TV land.
@Andrew (20:25) — I agree with your ‘Kiev’ scenario. Very possible, imo. At the start there were only two forces at work — criminal oligarchs and the people. Now the paradox is there is also the military itself. Although even with nazi fascists it will also be a cross section of all the core elements of the Ukraine society. Once the generals and troops realise that power is actually in their hands and Putin’s BRICS Dev Bank support package will give them back Ukraine (less Crimea) then there will be an Egyptian scenario –ie generals standing up and calming everyone down for a long hard think about the future over a freezing winter.

I have stated several times this is a most incredible portent for Novorossiya given the icon’s history with Russian Military victories. I finally found a picture of Col. Strelkov venerating the holy icon.
http://02varvara.wordpress.com/2014/07/11/11-july-2014-a-picture-is-worth-a-thousand-words-i-i-strelkov-warrior-christian-gentleman-what-more-do-you-want/
It is very clear that the dramatic turn of the tide coincided with the appears of the Icon in Donetsk and its veneration by the militia. Great spiritual forces are at work in Donbass.
Nora,
I was so alive in 1963 that I predicted JFK would be assassinated. I came upon the Cuban American group in the CIA’s University of Miami’s South Campus listening station. I was a film maker then, young and arrogant with a camera and barged in on Cubans being trained there.
It’s mentioned in Costner’s JFK, the south campus. Everyone in Miami knew of the Cuban American animus against Kennedy. Don’t give him too much credit. He was not bucking the system per se. He was a tool that no longer was working and Johnson represented the oil and gas boys better.
But he was whacked because of Viet Nam. He signed an executive order to get the 16, 000 troops out (October) and was killed in November.
Johnson signed the war expansion executive order a few days after taking office.
The Tonkin Bay incident with North Vietnam was a false flag that just recently the government admitted never happened. But it cost 58,000 American lives, 2 million Vietnamese. Several of my classmates died early on. My godson just recently lost both legs from lifelong ailments from being dosed by Agent Orange while gunning from Hueys. Oh, they gave him some Bronze Stars, but I’m certain he’d rather have legs.
Now why did the Establishment want to stay in SE Asia? Control of the drug trade and oil.
What the Chinese now claim in the Paracel and Spratly Islands—oil and gas.
We also wanted to contain China, and Vietnam was crucial We had been warring in Laos for two decades, and turned Cambodia into the killing fields by destabilizing it with bombing. We controlled Thailand (the military) with the drug trafficking. Golden triangle. Nugan Hand bank in Australia (Richard Armitage and his brother the banker bagmen).
From then on we have had no truth, a Liberal social program that has wrecked the economy and endless wars and assassinations, regime change, and the Elites running every election so change never results.
Yes, the OSS was morphed into the CIA and had its philosophical roots watered by Reinhard Gehlen. Over in Asia they worked with both the Nationalists and the Communists to defeat Japan on the land mass, then turned on China in ’49 and haven’t let up. Tibet and the Dalai Lama, Xinjiang and the World Uyghur Congress are all CIA destabilization programs. Now we have set Abe and Japan lose of the constraints as a military threat. And of course, Philippines has been bought off again. Both are meant to torment China. And more Apache helos to Taiwan.
It’s been endless, seamless and pure hegemony.
The counterweight is Eurasia. The moral leader is Vladimir Putin. The crucial battleground is Ukraine.
In a nutshell, and I could carry on for millions more words. I lived it and studied it and now I still fight against it (and as Saker knows, I write fiction books about some of it for entertainment). I chose not to identify that so that I can be me, even camouflaged behind my avatar name.
Yes, our government is a tyranny. Our people are asleep. Some are very attuned and active trying to do something good. But we never pursued the truth of Dallas. If you understand that, then all the subsequent evil is predictable, inevitable and programmed. Power and greed. They have taken us back to feudal times. Most people think we are in the 21st Century. It is part of the neuroscience they have used on us. They control behavior. They did it with social scientists running Obama’s last campaign. Big data and mind control of the masses. Very potent stuff.
If it is true the Federalists are moving on the trapped Fascists what is the most likely outcome if the Fascists have grounded their aircraft?
Mass surrender or catastrophic slaughter?
I know very little about military strategy but isn’t there a risk to bombardment if the Federalists go on the offensive?
Is this a feint by Porky to pretend to pull the bombers out and then double down bombing the Federalists on the move?
If that pocket is shredded, won’t Porky’s govt fall?
@Andrew, re: Mariupol
Interesting, thanks for the detail.
the pessimist:
It’s a long way to Kiev and I don’t see the path…
I outlined the path. There will be little resistence if the armed forces can be routed in the east and sent in a disordered retreat. They will have to fall back to the Dnipr to make a definsible line if they lose the momentum this decisively.
well if the junta keeps up the fight and is pushed that far in retreat but frankly I see collapse and chaos before that point and some kind of negotiated settlement.
The collapse and chaos comes some time between entry of NAF into Melitopol and the seizure of the Kremenchug refinery and a Dnipr bridgehead or the complete cutting off of the coast (and thus oil imports, resuming Russian supply stops).
However, there is no point for the NAF to negotiate a settlement at such a moment when it would be obvious they can get more on the field of battle then they will get at the bargaining table, so it won’t happen. A negotiated settlement could happen only at two points – (1) when the NAF has mainly cleared Donbass, but not advanced outward Kiev could attempt to sue for peace on the terms of a full withdrawal and recognizing its Donetsk and Lugansk Oblast as independent Novorossiya (2) after seizure of Kiev a negotiation with the rump Maidan Coup government in Lviv could occur which would primarily determine how much territory would be left in the hands of Lviv.
Point (1) is a dangerous trap for the NAF, as it would leave most of Ukraine in the hands of the Maidan and the Russian elements remaining in Ukraine in a hopeless political situation. Therefore, it is more important to seize Berdyansk and Melitopol and drive on Kherson than it is to return to Slavyansk or clear northern Lugansk, because “facts” must be established on the ground to prevent a negotiated settlement that limits Novorossiya to a small corner.
I mean that I see the current government as far too weak and unstable to prosecute the war for that long. In fact I expect it to fail if Novorussia can simply expand to its stated borders, defend them and demand substantial negotiations.
Some sort of Galicia based (politically) government will hold on until utter defeat, regardless of whether its Poroshenko or Svoboda or Right Sector running the ministries. They can’t go back and so “whoops”, Maidan was just a big mistake! This is a 100+ year political project you are asking to just die.
And the stated borders of Novorossiya now encompass not just the Donbass, and not just the Southeast, but Sloboda Ukraine, Kiev and even Zhitomir. Strelkov has said he is going to Kiev. I believe him.
What about the oligarchs? You expect them to skip town?
Kolomoisky already lives abroad as do many oligarchs, and I don’t expect Poroshenko to escape prison unless he leaves the country. Other oligarchs will fall into line in their proper place in society, as in Russia.
BTW I well remember your posts about the ‘sausage’ along the border – well before the militia had the means to attack it.
I had great confidence in this happening because of what was reported (and mostly ignored) as occurring in Lugansk up the point when the scheme was actually hatched by blowing up the border.
The Macmillanite adieu to John F. Kennedy’s brave presidency:
The Times, Tuesday, 8 October 1963, p.13:
Second leader
An Elusive Agency
President Kennedy’s failure to control the political activities of the Central Intelligence Agency has been one of the more disappointing and mysterious aspects of his Administration. It is to be hoped that his belated recall of MR. RICHARDSON, the head of the C.I.A. mission in South Vietnam, is a sign of a new determination to exert the full political control which the agency so badly needs. Few things damage a country more than if its representatives on the spot appear to be at odds with each other.
The Cuban fiasco provided a unique opportunity to reassess the role of the C.I.A. The evidence of Laos and South Vietnam is that the opportunity was fumbled. (In Laos two years ago the C.I.A. was still opposing the neutralist coalition some time after PRESIDENT KENNEDY had formally endorsed it.) It is important, however, that the C.I.A. should not become a scapegoat for what are often the sins of the Government. Its involvement with NGO DINH DIEM’S family in Vietnam was encouraged by the absence of clear direction from Washington. The American Government was split over the proper policy for Vietnam, and in the resulting cleavage the State Department went one way and some of the C.I.A., with some of the Pentagon, another. There should have been especially keen vigilance over the C.I.A., for it is well known that many members of its staff are out of sympathy with the basic assumptions of the Administration’s policies, as they were not, on the whole, in the days of MR. DULLES.
The difficulty that has always dogged the C.I.A. is that it is basically inimical to American traditions, and the country has been unable to assimilate it. Born out of the shock of Pearl Harbour, it found its present name in 1947. The original intention was that it should confine itself to the collection and evaluation of information, and many think it should return to this pristine state. It outgrew the restrictions almost by accident. The State Department was weak in staff and funds, and American policy demanded methods that were not compatible with normal diplomacy. Gradually MR. JOHN FOSTER DULLES found that he could sometimes act more effectively through his brother ALLEN, then head of the C.I.A., than through his own department. Repeated attempts to subject the agency to Congressional control stumbled on the obvious need for secrecy. Secrecy would disappear in the open arenas of American political life. At the same time the Dulles fraternity inhibited control by the Executive. The result was a new and secret kingdom which combined the collection of information with the formulation and the execution of policy.
After the Bay of Pigs PRESIDENT KENNEDY tried to restore the making of policy to the State Department, local authority to his ambassadors, and most operational responsibilities to the Pentagon. He has had some success with these reforms, but not enough. The recent troubles have already revived demands for more Congressional control, and some increase may be possible. In the end, however, only one person is in a position to exert full control, and that is the President himself.

Thank you for the article about POOPOOShenko drinking.
I really, really, really enjoyed reading that !

Provides details on the banderivtsy units “trapped in the bag” along the Russian border.
The banderivtsy retreat (looking like a rout) shows the difference between the forces of Novorossia and banderstan well when compared with the retreat from Slaviansk.
That banderivtsy foray along the border was not a bright move. In fact, militarily, it doesn’t look any banderivtsy make the cut. Their job being to provoke Russia, they, or likely the Americans doing the planning, probably never thought in terms of strategy to retake the Novorossia, only in using the units to terrorise. I doubt they expected their proxies would fail against Novorussian forces the way they are now.
If Novorussian forces start pushing the nazis to the west, we’ll be seeing some first class hysterics from both the ZPC/NWO regimes and the ZPC presstitute brigades.

Obama, Merkel to Coordinate Possible New Sanctions Against Russia
http://en.ria.ru/world/20140716/190951946/Obama-Merkel-to-Coordinate-Possible-New-Sanctions-Against-Russia.html
“…The President and the Chancellor reaffirmed their commitment to work together with other allies to ensure that Europe and the United States remain closely coordinated on measures to impose costs on Russia, as necessary, as well as to continue to support Ukraine’s long-term stability and prosperity,” the statement reads.
Obama and Merkel also urged Russia to take “immediate steps to de-escalate the situation in eastern Ukraine amid the ongoing violence there”. According to them, these measures should include “supporting a bilateral ceasefire, a roadmap for talks under the OSCE-mediated contact group, and the establishment of an OSCE border monitoring mechanism.”
The two leaders stated that Moscow should call on independence supporters in the southeastern Ukraine to lay down arms and release all hostages. Obama and Merkel once again accused Russia of supplying self-defense militia with arms and fighters, although President Vladimir Putin had repeatedly denied the allegations, saying that no Russian weapons or servicemen had ever been deployed in Ukraine “and never will be”.
“The leaders agreed that to date neither the United States nor Germany has seen Russia fulfill these required actions,” the White House statement said…”

From the ‘You Couldn’t Make This Up’ department:
On the same day that the Ukies flaunt the weapons provided by the US, I came across several sites claiming the US State Department has come out officially declaring that Russia is supporting terrorism by [not] supplying weapons to the [non-existent] terrorists in the south-east.
Items in [] are my additions to make the statement match reality.
Mauriopol ma have been Akmetov’s town, but I suspect that is no longer the case. There was a strange episode in May(?) where troops killed unarmed civilians and attacked a police station. They killed a number of police officers and destroyed the police building. Graham Phillips is in the process of reporting on this odd incident. I suspect the army was used to purge police of those loyal to Akhmetov who wouldn’t transfer loyalty to Kolomoisky. Kolomosiky was the south-east (as possibly all Ukraine) as his own personal fiefdom.
Things are not totally quiet down that way. They have been attacks on coastal monitoring points and other explosions around Odessa.
This article describes, and shows with a map, the Ukrainian units trapped next to Russia.

Larchmonter445,
“But we never pursued the truth of Dallas”.
Not too late. After Oliver Stone’s film, public pressure forced Congress to declassify many documents.
Colonel John Hughes-Wilson’s book JFK: an American Coup d’Etat has shown us how to interpret them.
He’s a former MI6 officer who obviously knows how to overthrow a government. He recognises that this is a particularly egregious example with grave consequences. So he reassesses the evidence, in a very engaging style, to work out how it was done, and how it was covered up (he includes CIA instructions to media assets).
His footnotes are online at http://www.jfkcoupdetat.wordpress.com.
He has found new stuff. Dallas police proved Oswald had not fired a weapon that day. Kennedy was hit by different calibre bullets from different angles. The embalmers noted “a large gaping hole in back of head” which sequential autopsies managed to disappear. There had warnings of three attempts, all with a Cuban-linked patsy: Chicago (Kennedy didn’t go), Tampa (massive police presence), Dallas (Secret Service back off; Connally has to be ordered into the presidential car; LBJ bent over, whispering into a walkie-talkie, as they turn into the Plaza; driver stalls). But he does not get distracted. He does not bog down in detail. He unflinchingly sets everything in the widest possible context.
Canadian readers might be interested in the bit about Clay Shaw and Permindex (based in Montreal), which was a front for Mossad and the Mob. This was the beginning of the end for Canadian politics as well.
Britain doesn’t figure in his analysis. But something was going on behind MI6’s back. Macmillan suddenly resigned. On the night of 20 November, Kennedy demanded that Britain call off its (Saudi-Israeli-backed) mercenary war in the Yemen. Douglas-Home stalled, saying he would ring back in two days. But on the 22nd, bullets prevented Kennedy from accepting the call. Shortly after, Johnson rescinded the demand, and tears flooded Macmillan’s face at the dedication of the Kennedy memorial at Runnymede. It doesn’t look very good, does it?
One more poke in the eye for the USKraine regime. Russia and Turkey have established a ferry service between Crimea and Turkey.

..
When you people go nuts you really go for it. All the way out to NovoRussia as the Second Coming. Well so far you have the second coming of the KGB, and they’re doing very well thank you.
One more time…
the Ukraine theater is geopoliltical. The constraints on Russian power have been exhaustively analyzed, but the emotional vehemence on this site is blinding assessment of the constraints on American power. Is not the first rule of war to know your enemy? You don’t get there by fouling yourself with toxicity. How does Strelkov speak? In very precise language.
The Anglo-Am empire is an empire of money and it’s in Ukraine to preempt competition to dollar hegemony. To all but weak participants in the global economy (like Libya was) dollar hegemony must be consensual, so why would it be? first necessity (following the destruction of WWII); then stability; then reach/scope and complexity; then finally -even when extremely compromised by over-extension and criminality – co-dependence. (almost the entire Western banking system is an interlocking spider web of contracts.)
Point is that holding the world’s reserve/hard currency entails responsibilities, and as everybody knows, trust has vaporized. Now the imperial policy is one of targeted attrition – to attrit emerging competition deeper or faster than losing legitimacy, and that is a balancing act which Washington has just lost.
In the contest of hegemony vs multi-polarity, Russia has not won the latter; Putin and Lavrov have sustained the possibility of a multi-polar future. The forces of multi-polarity are very immature, and extremely uneven. The US has forced the issue into a higher gear.
That said, the American position is disintegrating; they can’t push it further. As usual, the US is stuck with a quality problem, but time is compressed and the available satrapy is so bad as to be unredeemable. They can’t do a Salvador. Further pressure on their alliance, and they lose Europe or destroy NATO. (I’m expecting an essay by William Pfaff on this). The Polish position which is NATO-based is a wreck, and France has publicly endorsed dollar defection. (GEAB 86) the forced Russia-China gas deal will extend out thru Asia, including India and Japan, and its currency will be Chinese. Altogether, a huge Am loss in the currency wars.
http://www.leap2020.eu/GEAB-N-86-is-available-Global-systemic-crisis-The-Major-Global-Geopolitical-Reconfiguration (in multiple languages)
Again, as already anticipated here by others, the terms of the settlement will play out on the
ground. There will be no major war, nobody wants it. And landgrabs are very unlikely. The Poles want Ukraine like you want Yats at your dinner table.
Best wishes,
Bogdan
..
This is probably the single most upbeat assessment out of Strelkov since the beginning. Thank you Gleb for the translation.
http://slavyangrad.wordpress.com/2014/07/16/briefings-july-15-16-2014/
02:42 – July 16, 2014 – Briefings from the Militia
Junta has finally lost all initiative across the entire military theatre. The complete routing of the southern cauldron is almost fait accompli. The defeat of the punitive forces near Lugansk is obvious to everyone. Accordingly, in the nearest days we can expect a sweep of the southern border and attempts to complete the sweep of the Lugansk and the Donetsk airports. After all the trophies are put to use [by the Militia], the forces of the Militia and the punitive army will, at the very least, become equal (over the last two days, our heavy armour forces have been “replenished” to the tune of dozens of units), which will enable us to commence wide scale offensive operations.
Over the last several days we have been receiving information that the Junta forces are hurriedly reinforcing checkpoints in the Zaporozhia (in Berdyansk, Ukies are creating fortifications by digging in armoured vehicles) and in the Kharkov regions. Probably for a good reason.
What Russia needs more than anything for this fight is diplomatic space in which to operate and so preventing the US from closing down that space and restricting its options is a top priority.
We are though seeing a new form of warfare, using direct; rather than indirect. proxies. For the US, this means the private military contractors and for Russia, it means nationalist militias/volunteers.
Novarossiya is also creating diplomatic space for itself. Has anyone noticed the significance of being recognised by South Ossetia?
Well it is this. South Ossetia is recognised as an Independent state by Russia and an entity to which weapons (including very large and heavy ones) can be sold or gifted. As South Ossetia recognises Novarossiya, it can resell or gift to them.
Russia has opened a legitmate supply line to the rebels which maintains plausible deniabilty.
This is how the Self Defence forces are becoming so much better equipped and as long as plenty of volunteers come from the rest of Russia, the advantage will shift and continue to shift with the Self Defence Militia.
The 72nd Mechanized Birgade trapped at the east end of the southern pocket was apparently also involved in the Mariupol Massacre on 5/9/14.
If so, such bad luck couldn’t happen to a worse bunch of people.
Oh for gosh sakes, Larchmonter445, I thought you were a young’un! ;~)
And yeah, those Cubans were something, but Kennedy also managed to piss off the Mafia, and Israel bc of Dimona and Lord only knows who else. His administration was exceptional only for its smug arrogance but a whole lot of idiots worshipped him. Tonkin Bay was as obviously bs as weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and yeah, no one alive then could possibly *not* have had friends and family among the casualties. I had a fine young cousin go missing over Cambodia before we were officially in Cambodia and certainly know plenty of folks with lifelong PTSD, however long their lives were. I originally did believe in the Domino Theory — right up until I heard about that oil exploration. Etc. And I absolutely agree with everything you said except I’d blame Neoliberalism and the Chicago School of Economics rather than naive/arrogant Liberal totebaggers (just another class of useful idiots), and the idea that we have or will return to feudalism: it’s way worse than that. Serfs performed work essential to the lives of their lords and were considered, in the aggregate at least, a valuable part of a seamless whole. The 99%, otoh, represent only resources to extract or extract from, impediments to the extraction of resources, or worthless wastes of resources. Capitalism is based on resource extraction (i.e., Colonialism) and right now we’re just doing to white people in America what has always been done to non-white people in America. You’ve spoken of your Italian background so I’m not sure how familiar you are with this reference but we’ve become, loosely, what James Joyce complained about re: Ireland almost exactly 100 years ago: the sow that eats her own.
And do read that Jonathan Swift piece — it’s easy to get through, and hysterical, at least if you have a semi-warped sense of humor. But he sure as hell makes his point, and it was the same one you were, just with different, erm, visuals.
Events are apparently developing rapidly on the ground. It is being stated that an attempt was made on the life of Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov in Izyum. He was wounded and is in serious condition.
Not clear if it was an inside job or part of the ongoing partisan attacks behind the lines in Kharkov Oblast.
Also, if a picture tells a thousand words, isn’t this picture of Petro$ Porcochoco telling?

Saddly as it can be, with cold mind we can only agree that more losses in manpower are inflicted to the Ukies (in particular regarding ordinary conscripts), the more the population in the west and centre of (former) Ukraine will rise against Kiev So, in that should the Resistance focus on.
Nomen est omen.
The Moscow subway wreck yesterday occurred between Slavyansk Boulevard and Victory Park on the Arbatsko–Pokrovskaya Line as the train was headed to Kievsky Rail Station.
Andrew, you have some rosy shades on but perhaps you will be right in the end. Whether or not it would be wise for the DPR/LPR to negotiate I don’t believe Kiev can accept what they would demand – no IMF loan, riots in the streets. If the current government falls though, other provinces may test the separatist waters and the situation could become very fluid. In such circumstances political leadership is critical. A dangerous time where opportunists can come to power.
I don’t see the oligarchs playing nice and quietly retiring – they ARE the political class for all intents and purposes. Someone would have to come to the fore who could force them out or into submission – who?
Mariupol – they had representatives at one of the first 2 DPR press conferences with Strelkov pleading for help. They were told “hang in there, we are coming but not right away as other matters press first”.
After sleeping on it I have decided that a forum that tolerates verbal attacks on one’s dead mother, personal attacks on the loved ones of anyone, is not a welcoming venue. I continue with my sincerest support for the struggle and this site, but dignity demands withdrawal from an undignified space.
So, I will be listening, but no longer participating.

@herb: well I am so sorry that my moderation policy is not up to your standards – try moderating from a car on a small Internet tablet and you might find out why. Frankly, I have no idea what ruffled your feathers, but if it is the comment by karlof1 that “The use of napalm now constitutes a War Crime, although I should expect as much from someone raised by US Marines.” then you indeed might want to say away from this blog as none of us here are under any illusion about what the Marine Corps is and what it does to its victims and to its members.
Goodbye and all the best,
