US Army drastically cut their Air Defense Units at the end of the Cold War. Figured they didn’t need them. And of course they didn’t as the only forces they fought had no aircraft. In November of 2018 they actually activated a first cold war air defense unit in Germany. Stinger missiles mounted on a HMMWV, The defense department is owned by the military industrial complex, and the money/profits to be made are in big theater level, expensive stuff that will never have to work.
Andrei – some teflon based lubricant spray on your chair joint will probably fix it.
The general health situation of the US public makes any military “strength” an illusion.
This is not 1942 to 1990 period. Toxic foods and drugs the cause. And not many people would want to join to fight for a corrupt Deep State Govt. This is why the DS is finished.
You only have revisit what happened in the 1960s with Vietnam – the young people would not support a Deep State created immoral war. It resulted in LBJ having to go and Nixon had to exit it.
And then like now, it was the Democrats that started that war – same as WW2 under FDR and WW1 under Woody Wilson.
This whole venture in UKN will end badly for those in the west.
Yes, try a silicone spray before you ditch the whole chair!
Elmer’s Slide-All was very good, but it was discontinued.
A product made by KEL, “Pure Silicone-Not Just Another Silicone Spray,” is quite good.
You can get it at a hardware store.
The fact that WD-40 works for a couple of days suggest that lubrication will fix the squeaking. WD-40 is mostly solvent that evaporates and leaves near nothing to protect the surface. Because it is mostly solvent, it is a great penetrant.
WD-40 seems to have become a brand name so not sure which product he used. There is a WD-40 white lithium grease which is probably a better product for this application
WD40 unavailable in Yurp last time I checked. Had to use Sonax SX-90 – that was before sanctions…
Scotty Kilmer, THE auto go-to guy, swears by WD40.
The average military age American person mainly wants to party, get drunk or high, play video games or watch Netflix, so is there any hope for the US ?
And the situation in EU & UK isnt that much better.
Don’t you go upsetting the gender-neutral US Armed Forces, their mascara might run.
A $trillion Defence Budget, and yet reduced to HTS Al Nusra, XYZ proxy militia, hit and run terrorist micro- aggressions.
Pitiful to watch a former empire behaving like a punch-drunk boxer who’s come out of retirement for a 3rd time for an unlicensed fight.
WD-40 is a solvent-lubricant, a weird combination. It works best for unsticking things. It’s good for things that can’t tolerate a lot of lubrication, like locks.
It’s not as good as a real lubricant for most things. If it’s stuck, use WD-40. If it just needs lubrication use some sort of oil. I’m in America and I use Remington Spray Oil for all my tools, chairs and of course guns.
When you clean a gun first you use solvent, then you wipe that all away and then you lubricate. (If you are doing it right).
Try some simple light weight oil. Maybe whatever Russians are supposed to use on their rifles.
Agree. I swear by the Rem Oil with Teflon. It seems to “stick around” for the longest time after it’s applied.
With Martyanov fronting the propaganda war on our behalf, things continue to go clunk in the night.
Since the name “Great Patriotic War” is taken, I propose that this war be called “The Great Pretenders War”.
The reason is simple. The US and EU dump guns and money into Ukraine, while pretending it is a Ukraine verses Russia war. I like the name because it mocks NATO.
Aside – this from Martyanov :

should make hair stand on end!
How close we came to the destination the Empire , again, today desires!
Stopped then by Martyanov’s boss, Vasily Alexandrovich Arkhipov before he became the Captain 2nd Rank (Commander) and the Chief of Staff of the 69th BRPL (Brigade of Submarines) of the Northern Fleet – who refused to fire a nuke torpedo!
Good one Andrei!
WD-40 works in a pinch, but little known fact: Liquid Wrench is modified LNG also works wonders. Similarly, it’s like arguing whether Kinzhal, Kalibur, or Zircon works better.
But they all stop “the squeaks.”
Andrei, absolutely love your conclusion that the National Strategic Strategy is garbage if the rest reads like the part you highlighted. Had to read it twice because it didn’t make any sense. These authors need to read George Orwell’s, “Politics and the English Language.” They might actually say something relevant in the report.
https://www.orwellfoundation.com/the-orwell-foundation/orwell/essays-and-other-works/politics-and-the-english-language/
Orwell believed that the language used was necessarily vague or meaningless because it was intended to hide the truth rather than express it.
Alas, I thought at the beginning he was talking about a type of weapon because it started with WD-40, without context, until he talked about the chair squeaking. Had to laugh at that. Everybody knows what wd-40 is. It’s America’s secret weapon.
