Russia is setting up a military base in the Afrin canton area controlled by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units in northwestern Syria. The agreement on establishing the base was concluded on Sunday, according to YPG spokesman Redur Xelil. The base will reportedly be located at the village of Qatmah. Russian military servicemen have already arrived in the area with armoured vehicles, trucks, and troop carriers. According to the YPG spokesman, Russian military advisors will allegedly train YPG fighters and increase cooperation with the YPG in combating terrorism.
The Russian Defense Ministry denied the creation of a military base and said that some units of the Reconciliation Centre had been deployed to the area to “observe” the ceasefire. In Any case, this will clearly contribute to further improvement of the relations between Kurdish military political entities and the Syrian government.
Government troops have reversed a significant part of the gains made Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (formerly the official branch of al-Qaeda) in the Qabun industrial district in eastern Damascus and re-imposed the siege on the area of Qabun. Clashes are still ongoing in the area but it’s clear that the joint militant forces led by al-Qaeda have failed to achieve their military goals. The growth of al-Qaeda-led operations in the Damascus countryside could trigger a government advance aiming to clear the area from militants. In this case, Qabun is a legitimate target for government forces.
In the province of Aleppo, the Syrian army and its allies aim to cut off the road linking Deir Hafer with the ISIS-controlled airbase of Jirah and to encircle the city. Government forces liberated the village of Al-Qusayr and the nearby train station from ISIS and attacked terrorists in Jifr Mansur, Aqulah, and Adasarah.
The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), predominantly consisting of the People’s Protection Units (YPG), have taken control of Karamah, Tal Fatisah, Khardal, and the Balasim oil storage east of the ISIS-controlled city of Raqqah. The SDF advance was actively backed by the US military. At least one Apache attack helicopter was spotted supporting the SDF advance.
Russia was not happy with Israel’s reckless attacks last Friday, especially as they came on the heals of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Moscow last week, where he and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the regional security situation and well as conflicts in the airspace over Syria. Israel’s demands were that it would not stand for a Iranian military presence in Syria, or that of Hezbollah which Tel Aviv label as “Iran’s proxies.”
After Friday attack by Israel, its Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman stated that, “The next time the Syrians use their air defence systems against our planes we will destroy them without the slightest hesitation.”
According to Syria’s UN Envoy Bashar Jaafari, Putin has sent a message to Netanyahu that Israel’s fee pass to disrupt anti-terror operations in Syria is over, and that Syria has a right to defend itself.
“Putin sent a clear message,” said Bashar Jaafari, speaking on Syrian television. “The fact is that the Israeli ambassador [to Russia] was summoned for a conversation only a day after he submitted his credentials [to the Russian Foreign Ministry last Thursday], and was told categorically that this game is over.”

Russia to Judge Israel’s Implementation of Syrian Agreements by Actions – Lavrov
https://sputniknews.com/politics/201703221051847129-russia-agreement-lavrov-israel/
“He added that during Netanyahu’s last visit to Russia earlier in March, the agreement between him and Putin had been clearly and fully confirmed, and that Russia “will judge how accurately this arrangement is carried out by our Israeli partners not on the basis of what they say but how they act,” Lavrov stressed.
“During Israel’s prime minister [Benjamin Netanyahu’s] second to latest visit to Moscow he and President [of Russia Vladimir] Putin achieved a clear agreement about the way Russian and Israeli militaries could cooperate in relation to the situation in Syria,” Lavrov said, commenting on last week’s Israeli strikes on the Syrian Armed Forces posts near Damascus.”

Time for the exterminator to begin the bug hunt yet?
Russia doing wrong with helping Apoist Kurds. Apoist Kurds use suicide bombers like ISIS. Clearly Turkey wants to create a secure zone west of euphrates. This will help to find a salution for Syian war. Building statue of father Assad and helping Apoist wont solve anything.
Some people consider John McCain to have been a ‘suicide’ bomber.
He crashed in four or five planes. Usually without any help from the enemy.
McCain also conspired to sink the aircraft carrier Forrestal.
He also set a few of other military records :
(1) lowest passing score at the naval academy;
(2) most medals per hour of air time over North Vietnam;
(3) Best “singer” among the POW’s.
Who do you consider to be Apoist Kurds as there are several Kurdish factions? Some faction are allied with Turkey, others with the Syrian Army and even a few that joined with ISIS and Al Qaeda.
If you are referring to followers of Abdullah Öcalan I recommend you read up on his switch to an ecological communal belief system proposed by Murray Bookchin’s work—The Ecology of Freedom and The Rise of Urbanization. This work emphasizes the importance of assembly democracy and confederalism; he embraced the critique of hierarchy, the necessity of gender equality, and the urgent reality of the ecology crisis.
Apoist Kurds like also sacrificing women for so called freedom. Actions are different than things on paper.
The US has moved on Raqqa
http://pennyforyourthoughts2.blogspot.ca/2017/03/us-launched-surprise-attack-on-raqqa.html
Impeding Syrian/Russian and Hezbollah
the US dropped at least 500 US troops into Raqqa
“US terror-bombing in the battle for Mosul has nothing to do with liberating the city, everything to with destroying it.
Civilians in harm’s way are being indiscriminately massacred, residential neighborhoods turned to rubble, terror-bombing burying entire families beneath the wreckage of their homes – media scoundrels ignoring high crimes demanding accountability.
Last week’s mosque bombing in western Aleppo province slaughtered over four dozen worshipers, injured many more. Pentagon authorities lied, claiming an al-Qaeda structure was targeted, not a mosque. Its rubble and death toll proved otherwise.
Overnight Tuesday, US terror-bombing massacred over 30 Syrian civilians about 20 miles west of Raqqa, many others injured, according to residents and eye-witnesses.
Bodies are still being pulled from rubble. A school was struck hosting around 50 displaced families. Two days earlier, US terror-bombing slaughtered 30 civilians in Matab al-Borashid village near Raqqa, including eight children and six women.
In Iraq and Syria, defenseless civilians are being massacred on the phony pretext of combating ISIS – US war crimes unreported in the West.
Wherever America shows up, mass slaughter and destruction follow. Endless US imperial wars rage in Syria, Iraq and other theaters – horrors inflicted on millions ignored by media scoundrels.”

Everyone knows (or should know by now) that the US govt. created ISIS as a proxy mercenary army in order to carry out ‘regime change’ in the Middle East, most recently in Syria. Everyone should also be aware of the fact that the US government has been spending large amounts of US taxpayer dollars on training and arming this jihadi army. It’s only logical, therefore, that as the relationship deepens, the US would take the next step of personally transporting the jihadis to specific destinations. That is, in fact, what happened recently when, as reported by the BBC:
“US-led coalition aircraft have for the first time carried out an airlift of allied fighters battling the jihadist group Islamic State (IS) in Syria.
The Pentagon said members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) alliance were dropped behind IS lines close to the Tabqa dam, west of the city of Raqqa.
No one should be fooled by the labeling of these jihadis as “democratic” and “anti-ISIS”. Given that they are a private army of the US government, they clearly share the same goals as the US government, which is to continue the destruction of Syria in the hope of deposing Assad. If that can’t be achieved, ‘plan B’ is to use these mercenaries to create a ‘Kurdistan’ in Northern Syria and Iraq (and possibly Southern Turkey) in order to:
a) cut off Iranian influence in the area and access to the Mediterranean for its oil and gas
b) prevent Russia from supplanting the USA as the dominant foreign power in the region
c) ensure that the US government’s headchopper and dictator allies in the region – Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE – remain the Middle East’s main energy suppliers to Europe, China and the rest of the world.
