Government forces have lifted a 3-years long ISIS siege from the city of Deir Ezzor, according to pro-government sources.
Last weekend, government forces, led by the SAA Tiger Forces and supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, recaptured a large area including Bir Ghabaghib and al-Shula villages. On Monday, government troops reportedly reached the 137 Regiment area in western Deir Ezzor and met with Republican Guard units there.
If it’s confirmed, the next SAA goal will be to establish a full control over the Sukhna-Deir Ezzor highway and to liberate the entire city.
ISIS responded to the SAA advance with launching multiple attacks against government forces positions inside the city. Separately, the terrorist group deployed large reinforcements to al-Mayadeen preparing for a large attack in the Deir Ezzor area.
The only ISIS chance to counter the SAA advance is to bring off a successful battle using prepared fortifications inside and around Deir Ezzor and to conduct multiple raids against SAA supply lines using car bombs and technicals.
In other cases, ISIS days in Deir Ezzor city are numbered.
In eastern Hama, the SAA and its allies liberated the key town of Uqayribat and some nearby points after a series of intense clashes with ISIS terrorists. Now, government forces are working to clear the entire pocket.
The Syrian military has deployed at least one Russian TOS-1 heavy flamethrower system in order to strengthen the defense of Aleppo city.
The military is actively preparing for possible attacks of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and its allies from the so-called moderate opposition.
The SAA is now deeply involved in a large-scale anti-ISIS operation in Deir Ezzor province. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham may use this for launching an attack against government forces at some front in the province of Aleppo or Hama.
southfront are also reporting that usa have promised, will be using air support to aid Kurdish led Syrian forces also attacking ISIS at Deir Ez Zor……is this a meeting of minds…possibility of more usa attacks on Syrian citizens…possibility of planes crahing into esch other of fighting each other….or as southfront suggests…a usa grab for territory and oil fields locally?
“or as southfront suggests…a usa grab for territory and oil fields locally” CHECK
Not that the Kurds even want to advance to Deir Ezzor, but Zion will force them to. Or at least try to force them – another fiasco in the making…
Russia sent a strong signal today to the SDF/US/ISIS:
https://www.rt.com/news/402028-russia-strike-isis-syria/
Russian frigate fires Kalibr cruise missiles at ISIS targets in Deir ez-Zor – Defense Ministry.
“A Russian warship in the Mediterranean Sea has fired a salvo of Kalibr cruise missiles at a group of jihadists stationed near the city of Deir ez-Zor in western Syria, the Russian military reported. The targeted militants were mainly from Russia and countries of the CIS.
“The missile strikes supported the advance of Syrian government forces, and have foiled the plans of the ISIL militants to regroup and strengthen terrorist positions near the city of Deir ez-Zor,” the ministry said….”
What a glorious moment is upon us.
Let us always remember the SAA that suffered and died for Syria.
Armenians in Syria have done all they could to support its defense.
Armenians worldwide will support the reconstruction of Syria.
In Deir ez Zor we will rebuild the memorial to our 1915 martyrs.
The coalition of the wicked has lost!
Short of Israel/U.S. engineered chemical false flag attack blamed on Assad and regular/uniformed armed force invasion there is nothing they can do to prevent Syria from regaining their country in full now.
I’m not naive but this is a good day to be optimistic.
” The Syrian Army’s crack Tiger Division has crossed the Euphrates at Al-Bu-Matar. With the Russian Air Force flying support overhead, the U.S. is loath to interfere in the operation. The Tiger Forces, equipped with T-90 tanks and enhanced T-72s, which are amphibious and designed to cross huge rivers like the Danube, easily made their way up the gentle shores of the mighty Euphrates.
The rest of the Tiger Forces crossed the river using mobile link bridges designed to ferry infantry across rivers like this. The parts were delivered by the Russian Army months ago in anticipation of the liberation of DZ.”

To add some color to the historical events unfolding as we speak on the outskirts of besieged Deir Ezzor here some live reporting from yesterday night by a some fine blogger.
17h44 ago (Sunday, 6pm local time)
“ On the Der ez Zor battle front, ISIS is collapsing everywhere, they just can not hold the ground agains intense RuAF and SAAF bombing, the vital Kharrata East Oil Field and large areas W and NW of al Shulah were also liberated, increasing by several folds the frontline and buffer zone. The SAA and allies are now only 9-11 kms to al Shulah and only 12-15 kms from Der ez Zor.
“ ISIS under tremendous pressure from 2 fronts and squeezed in the middle. High risk for friendly fire due to proximity, communication between air forces and the ground is critical to avoid friendly fire. Soldiers morale is sky high at the moment.”
12h48 ago
“ Latest news from DeZ, some 5 kms left to link the front runners at TF and the advancing RGs from the 137th brigade. The whole area is in flames, ISIS in a complete state of chaos seems not able to defend the attacks from multiple directions. TF has also arrived at the outskirts of al Shulah, though several folks are reporting its liberation, this is yet not clear since there is fight inside.
The main siege liberation move is coming from Kharrata east oil Field, this is were the link will be made, but to sustain it vs VBIEDs attempts from ISIS after the link up, there will be a need to a much wider buffer zone and that is the control of the highway between al Shulah and DeZ is vital. Count down guys, it could be as soon as tonight, Syria time.”
12h42 ago
“ Intense air strike between TF scouts and 137th brigade, 5 kms is all that is left, 15 attack choppers and 25 fighting bombers over the area, massive air support around the clock since Friday, to destroy anything that ISIS places inside the gap, there is no chance ISIS can defend with such incredible show of strength and coordination, there is little doubt among the folks on the ground the link up will happen tonight-Syria time. Soldiers on top of Tal al Sannouf have visual sight of advancing TFs. Exciting times ahead.
12h38 ago
“ Some folks saying the link is made through TF scouts, not the main army yet, but it is imminent guys. “
12h35 ago
“ DONE. The Tiger Forces linked to Der Ez Zor, confirmed from many sources. The siege is OVER.”
12h07 ago
“ TFs scouts met up with RGs in Der ez Zor, the link is made but not secured yet. Several fights reported inside Der ez Zor city, ISIS trying to advance inside the city while inside ISIS held DeZ Syrian sleeper cells are revolting, a mess right now.
In few hours the main TF army will secure a safe route to Der ez Zor, but the link is made and siege is technically broken.”
11h59 ago
“ That is right, siege is technically broken but supply lines are not yet secure. TF Scouts met with with RGs but roads are not safe yet, counter attacks are inevitable, it will be a long night, all hell breaking loose in Der ez Zor, ISIS is attacking the city from their DeZ held area while Syria’s sleeper cells attacking ISIS in their part of the city.
Civilians must be very careful, ISIS is firing missiles and mortars inside the city and it could generate lots of civilian casualties due to the celebrations.”
11h35 ago
“ at one point there 15 choppers and 25 jets over the area, nothing can resist that on a desert area were no hiding spots are available. When heights are secure the rest is downhill, and that was exactly what happened when Mt Bishri was secured, in few days the TF has arrived at the outskirt of Der ez Zor. The danger though is not over, the roads are not safe, defended and secured, ISIS is known for the VBIEDs that can break a hole in the frontline, this is a very dangerous night for the soldiers around the area.”
10h39 ago
“ This is indeed a great moment my friend, 120,000+ civilians guarded by 10,000 heroes for 3 years with basically no more tanks or armoured vehicles left to be used.
This is probably one of the bravest resistance to a siege of all times, history will tell, but it levels bravery with Leningrad, Rhodes etc.”
7h15 ago
“ Der ez Zor is a city, the most important city in eastern Syria, it has some 120,000 civilians besieged for over 3 years and protected by some 10,000 soldiers, basically without armoured vehicles for some time lost in battles to defend the pocket. The pocket compromises of 2/3 of the city plus a large military base (137th brigade), an oil filed and one airbase.
About 1 year ago the US regime bombed for over 1 hour a SAA forward post at Mount Thurdah, killing over 100 soldiers and wounded many more, at the same time ISIS was attacking the SAA, completely and utterly coordinated, that disaster caused by the US regime managed to broke a very well defensive line that was resisting for over 2 years and split the pocket in 2, the city of Der ez Zor (2/3) under the Syrian Government and the 137th Brigade + oil field from the airbase, and the heroes have defended the two pockets living from food dropped by Russian and Syrian cargo planes.
On the course of about a year, the Syrian Republican Guards under the legendary Issam Zaheddine, recovered some part of the lost ground but never to the point to restore what was lost due to the US regime and ISIS intentional attack.
Der ez Zor is vital for Syria, it controls the Euphrates river in many areas, it is close to the most important oil fields in Syria (over 70% of the oil is in Der ez Zor Province, SE of Der ez Zor city on the left banks of the Euphrates.
The airbase in Der ez Zor, after being secured and used for fighter jets, it will be a prime place for modern AA that will be used to control the airspace in all eastern Syria and most of Iraq, that will be check mate for any airforce that supports ISIS or any other terrorist organization, that is how vital this is all about, besides Der ez Zor is central for the economy of the Euphrates.
The Tiger Forces managed to advance over 25 kms in one day due to an unprecedented air support from RuAF and SAAF, link is barely made by the 137th brigade, SW of the pocket, but the battle is still on and fight is everywhere, this is a die or break battle, and ISIS is losing badly.
Important to say that the effort today is completely coordinated with the troops inside the pocket, there are multiple actions happening in the ISIS held part of Der ez Zor as well as in the corridor between the Panorama roundabout and the airbase. This effort is supported already by forward storm troops from the Tiger Forces that are attempting to cross the highway toward Thayyem gas field, if they are successful in doing that, ISIS will be in a bad situation between the airbase and the city, and most likely they will lose the area at Turdah mountain.
We will hear a lot of more details in the morning. Stay tuned.
6h55 ago
“ The map below illustrate well what is going on right now near Der ez Zor, and why so many info saying the siege has been broken, army at 20kms, 10 kms, 6 kms etc…the attack is very large, once the al Kharrata oil filed was liberated, the Tiger Forces and allies have spread through a very large area between al Shulah and Der ez Zor in a attempt to cut the highway and advance toward Thayyem gas field. The attempt seems to strike ISIS as Julius Cesar did in Alicia to Vercingetorix, kind of besiege the besieger, not for months but for as fast as possible, this manoeuvre, if proved correctly, will break the siege in a much wider area and also reconnect the city to the airbase, in a long embrace.
There are a lot of anxiety at the moment, and a lot of info moving around, so many conflicting information, but the basic stuff so far is that scouts managed to link up in more then one area, but the battle continues, once the troops are positioned to advance further, a larger area will be liberated thus the link to the city will be much stronger. The attacking force (Tiger Forces, SAA and allies) has so much more fire power vs the ones inside the pocket that ISIS will not be able to hold the lines and will lose a very large chunk or area.”
Remember, that was yesterday night. Imagine what will happen this night…
A great day for Syria !
I once read rumours that Putin predicted a Stalingrad moment for NATO (i.e. the AngloZionists) in Syria. To my mind, the crossing of the Euphrates is one such moment.
The Zionist bluff has been called and I don’t think Kurdish proxies and poxy US bases are enough to turn the tide in North East Syria. This is a triumph for the Syrian people and a vindication of Putin’s policies.
Your move, Zio-punks.
The Syrian War is an historic geopolitical war.
Russia changed it.
Russian generals and weapons systems re-shaped it.
Syrians, Shiite militias, Quds Force and Hezbollah manpower fought it.
Humanity is winning against the twin beast of Hegemon and Wahhabi terrorism.
And the US CENTCOM and Israel-Arab coalition is losing it.
The phase ahead will morph into a guerrilla war against Damascus.
The way Russian generals are permitted by Putin to sanitize Syria as the regime change phase ends will tell us how long a guerrilla war can continue.
Russian generals have been leading negotiations with all the groups that once fought Assad. Thousands of deals have been struck and probably a thousand more will be needed to turn rebellion into reconstruction. This is a big, complex terrain with many pockets to cleanup, many “deals” to be struck, many roads and highways and oil fields to protect, many ethnic groups, many tribes to satisfy.
The menace of Israel and the Arabs will be active, as will the US. They have no intention of letting Assad rule long term. They are trying hard to disrupt the momentum of the re-establishment of Syrian sovereignty. Only Russia can assure it.
The unified air defense system Russia and Syria now have is a start. A very large helicopter wing of the Syrian Air Force will be needed. Especially, in all the places the US has bases. Kicking the US out will enable the Russians to fit these bases for joint Russian-Syrian military use against the coming guerrilla war.
September 30, 2015 was historic. The Russians came and saved Syria, rescued Turkey from a coup, bolstered Iran, strengthened Hezbollah and stopped the US and Israel while the Russian alliance destroyed ISIS’s caliphate and decimated AQ.
There still is a massive al Nusra Front with 25,000 fighters to destroy in Idlib province (governorate). But this is reminiscent of the last month of the Japanese Empire. The USSR took on a million man army and destroyed it in weeks.
These are reasons why Syria is an historic war in modern military. So much was at stake. So much had gone wrong. So much was about to be lost.
Then along came the Russians.
reports yesterday of UK forces leaving al Tanf – ?- in south east Syria is a good sign………just wondrin’ “how’ usa is going to be kicked out of the rest of Syria(any suggestions???/!!!!!), they seem to be wishing to stay in Raqqaa……….I am not sure if usa is used to responding to Syrian public opinion……………..
Well said. Yes this is probably just the end of the beginning: finishing the fight in Syria; continuing the struggle to save Libya; rolling up the Anglo-Zionist zatrapies in the Gulf; waiting for the implosion of Ukraine; and fire fighting God knows what myriad of evils the Empire will inflict in its death rattle.
But for now, joyous news and victory to the Syrian people.
Moving, inspiring, beyond impressive and astoundingly good news.
Truly a victory for good over evil, the joy of regained freedom tempered by the sorrow at those who died for their freedom and a kick in the teeth for Satanism, evil and the stinking psychopaths who dreamt this bloody horror up in Washington, London, Tel Aviv and Riyadh. These subhumans should be hauled before a world court and held fully to account for their crimes.
Syria – the people of the world salute and applaud you.
Let Syria be the line in the sand from which humanity can move forward to defeat the globalist Zionist menace.
I am far away from Syria but feel so moved by their achievement.
Thanks _SMR for the excellent post. And of course South Front also.
Syrian army and allies have broken the seige of Deir-ez-zor

Hurrah – well done to everyone involved. The civilians of the City will soon be free.
The other Omran – Aleppo civilians expose MSM lies and child exploitation
https://www.rt.com/op-edge/401994-omran-aleppo-boy-syria/
Article about lies zionazi media told of Aleppo, how they faked a photo scene of an injured boy and the experiences of a family who lived under the zionazi occupation.
Is RT channel out of touch. Instead pushing the victory narrative, they post “Almost half of Russians want end to military operation in Syria, poll shows” (https://www.rt.com/politics/402038-russians-want-syria-ended/). I guess i know now where the Russian idiocy comes from.
RT was infiltrated quite a while ago…which is why you get such uneven coverage. Still far, far better than the Western MSM.
