Dear colleagues! Dear fellow editors!
Answers to asked and unasked questions have been piling up. But, please, let us keep this between ourselves. It is not meant for the press here, in the capital. You probably ask yourselves as you watch your screens: why and to what end are they showing all this? Why do self-confessed Russophobes march through the streets of Moscow while the mass media lionizes trendy scandal-mongers and common cads, like Novikov, the lawyer; anyone at all, except people of culture and high professionalism? It begs the question – does Russia have some “cunning plan”, which has considered all these aberrations?
I will reveal in strict secrecy, and only to my compatriots, that such a plan exists, though its acronym is not CPP (Cunning Putin’s Plan) but STP (Secret Thousand-Year Plan). We do not yet know all the details, but we have already participated in its formation.
After the collapse and ruin of the nineties, many began to wonder: why had things turned out this way? How had we been made to quarrel and grow apart, only to be later cast aside? Was it because in our Soviet schools, the press, our cinema and the books allowed us, everything had been sanitized, made either black or white? And when, thanks to the efforts of our MIC (Military Industrial Complex – translator’s note) we had neutralized the external danger and the feeling of living in a fortress under siege and opened up to the world, through that breech poured floods of yellow journalism, schemes, enticements, mental illnesses, wearing down an otherwise healthy organism.
Why shouldn’t we now, especially after the success of the “Our Crimea” campaign, simply barricade the doors, throw the bolts and stop allowing obvious scoundrels to gloat in and sully our media spaces? In the first place, it would give them free publicity and the cachet of ‘forbidden fruit’. Most importantly, all of us, including the next generation, need to develop immunities, especially as we have now, according to plan, reduced the virulence of the infection itself.
‘Forewarned is forearmed.’ Perhaps, here too the Plan was triggered, but right up until the 2nd of July, 2014, people could still be deceived by the lie of the “well-intentioned” Western press. However, there could have been no ‘louder’ effect on that than the ‘friendly’ silence of the Western mass media, which, without exception, failed to report a single one of the rocket strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the peaceful city of Lugansk.
That did it! From that moment on, no one but the dim-witted, could preserve any illusions about the reality of the West’s fully-coordinated informational warfare. Today, the Western mass media is in full-siege warfare and news blackout mode. Incidentally, that day, July 2nd, can now be considered the day then western journalism committed suicide and ceased to exist as a free and independent profession.
We all know and respect our Russian military traditions – how to lure the enemy into the depth of our territory, even into the capital itself; the only way we can achieve their complete annihilation and a decisive removal of the threat. In the same way, in the information wars, we have to tolerate the Russophobe cells on the streets of the capital. But these professional subsidy-eaters too, have been trapped by the Plan. It is one thing, in utilizing the cliches of the information war, to put on a mourning face over the ‘sacrificial lamb’ Nemtsov, but it is a completely other thing to come out in support of the clearly psychopathic journalist-killer, Savchenko. The subsidy-eaters cannot help but intervene for her; it is their ‘bread and butter’ within the framework of the West’s information war over the former Ukraine. But by supporting her, each of them revealed their true colors – Brown! Pretending that they are defending ‘rights and freedoms’ will no longer work. ‘Free the Murderers’ – is from a different opera, no longer Liberal, but Nazi.
Russophobes are not held back even by the fact that the ringleader of the illegal “Aidar Battalion”, who gave Savchenko her orders, is now, in Kiev itself, facing legal questions about those ‘heroic deeds’, as are scores of his other subordinates. The Internet remembers everything forever. This crisis will pass, nations will make peace, and the law, not only in Moscow and Kiev, but in Europe, will include in certain individuals’ resumes: “Backed Savchenko, probably due to flaws in normal perception mechanisms”.
Incidentally, Savchenko herself, in spite of all her immaturity, fled the rough field-justice of martial law for the humane safety of the Russian legal system. The Federal Penitential Service provided her with a complete program of psycho-neurological rehabilitation, and yet she still chafes at the bit to go back into battle. Of course, justice demands that she serve all twenty-two years. But if an exchange can help release good and honest people from the dungeons of Kiev, it should be considered.
There is only one way in law to achieve this – to hand her over to serve her term in her native land. She cannot be pardoned without an admission of guilt and some show of remorse. In any case, pardon is the prerogative of the President of Russia. Only he can make such decisions.
In Kiev, in spite of the law and any agreements, she would certainly be ‘set free’. Thus, in the Rada (The Ukrainian parliament – translator’s note), in the PACE session, and through lobbying efforts at the Euro-parliament, a new ‘heroine’ would be born, a mentally ill, infectious one. And they already have an established cesspool of feeble-minded Russophobes. This new mainline injection, will propel many across the threshold from weak-mindedness to madness. In this way, the Russo-phobic wing of the West will self-destruct all the sooner. The crisis in Kiev will ultimately end in the re-establishment of the Constitution and the repeal of illegal legislation. So, in the end, Savchenko will go back to finish serving her ‘twenty’, in a Ukrainian prison. All one needs is a little patience – time will run its course.
As for our bizarre television programming, there is not much that can be done just now, other than supporting the Culture Channel. Throughout the world, the advertising oligopoly dictates format to broadcasters. But without advertising, relying on state budgets alone, the nation would be unable to further develop this tool of influence. Possibly, now that a reorientation towards internal markets has begun, as well as import replacement, advertising too will become our own, along with which will come a form and content more synonymous with our culture.
On the other hand, much of the Western programming format, even with our content, appears grotesque. Busy people do not watch television at all, and the bizarre programming attracts no one except somewhat bizarre people. For instance, if a family includes a busy grandmother, who plays with her grandchildren and who finds the time to have singsongs with her friends, she will have little desire to watch strange programs. Whereas, in the case of a ‘difficult’ mother-in-law, perhaps it is better for the whole family if she cannot be torn away from her weird shows.
Even among those who traded TV for the Internet, questions arise: why do social networks contain so many morally aberrant freaks, such as those who defend Savchenko? But they are the flip side of the moral majority, and proof that 99% of us are normal, kind people. It is just that the Internet, with its ability to seemingly bring people closer and encourage hyperbole, is still a novelty. Living in large cities, we notice tens of thousands of people out of the corner of our eye, but our attention is only grabbed if someone runs around naked. This happens rarely and is a crime. Similarly, in virtual reality, truly crazy people are rare, but they are unafraid, and you and I further encourage them with our exchanges: “Will you look at this freak show!” Never mind. People who live near zoos quickly stop paying attention to the cries from the monkey cage. In the same way, we will soon stop paying attention to this tiny minority of hysterics and imbeciles.
So, that we all may be convinced that our Plan has taken into consideration every minor detail, I will tell you another secret. The favorite cafe of the pro-Western opposition in Moscow is Cafe Jean Jacques – in honor of Rousseau. Now that those who frequent it have become accustomed to this self-identification with the West, the time has come to play the following move – to enlist as counter-propaganda the key thoughts and preferences of the philosopher.
Firstly, in his day, the original Jean Jacques protested against all who sought to impose Western standards on Russians. In his opinion, the uniqueness of Russian culture would be the very best contribution Russia could make to world culture, not its aping of the West. But Jean Jacques went further. Let me attempt to make this clear to that beau monde, those snobbish, pretentious, poseurs. He was married, not to a piece of urban fluff, but to a severe, ‘quilt-jacket’ from rural Lyon. [‘vatniki’ Eng. ‘quilt jackets’ is a pejorative term used by western Ukrainians to describe Russians of the Eastern Ukraine referring to cotton, quilted jackets and vest they supposedly wear – translator’s note]. Had it been otherwise, it is unlikely that he would have been able to preserve his clarity of thought and to become a pre-eminent philosopher.
Incidentally, one of the main goals of the information war against Russia remains unchanged since the days of Perestroika: they really want to weaken us by sowing discord, so that people who live in the provinces start to think that Russophobes and loafers reign in the cities. In this way they hope to encourage the youth to adopt these corrupt fashions. In reality, Moscow is full of working people, like me and my colleagues and our children, who come from all the provinces and regions of Russia. And we, too, worry, not about the dollar exchange rate in order to go abroad, but about the stability of the rouble and the economic development of our country, including our hometowns. We also worry about the judgment of our fellow countrymen. But we know that together we will overcome any problems.
The biggest secret of our Plan, and why no enemy can ever defeat us, is because it is impossible to infect our people with hatred of other people, or of our neighbors. Nor is it possible to fan war hysteria or the smoldering fires of nationalism. Let them not even dare to hope that we will answer their information war symmetrically – by lying, manipulating, insulting and demeaning. What is right, the truth, and the readiness to fight for them – these are our main weapons in the war for the confidence and trust of all people of good will. As for evil people, let them continue fearing us.
One last word about the Plan. Only culturally underdeveloped people like the ‘jumpers’ of Kiev, or their ‘ideological brethren’ can believe that everything is always Putin’s fault or the fault of his ‘cunning plan’. In reality we are talking about something completely other – the Secret Thousand Year Plan – which is also called The destiny of Russia.
Always your correspondent
Vladimir Markin, Head of Media Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation
Everything Vladimir Markin writes is clear, comprehensible and reasonable to me. Many thanks to Saker for making these ideas available to us and to Alexander Maidan for such a transparent and fluid translation.
I think this article will calm the anxieties of those within the Saker community that are often vexed and worried by the MSM. Even while many here are detesting the propaganda arm of the Empire and almost always see through it, quite a few commentors here are very often apprehensive of the capacity of others in their vicinity to resist its onslaught.
I hope this article is a confidence builder. Surely not to relax on any front of the information war, but rather to realize, that the better, smarter westerners can also react in a similar way to the same dynamic of human attraction to truth that Markin describes among Russians. I know that this is true, because when I spoke to my neighbor, or my poetry club, or business partner, for instance, assuming the worst, that they would be ignorant or brainwashed and react badly, I discovered that in such cases, the opposite was the case, that there is a hunger and an openess whenever the person being spoken to has not given up entirely, and become committed to living within their own personal shell, in a vain attempt to tune the world out.
My point? People here in the Vineyard know a lot. People here in California, (or wherever you are) are more open than you think. Speak what you know more often to more people. Not everything at once, but short trial shots across the bow. On the election, or ISIS, or the economy. With almost everyone, I’ve found there is some opening somewhere even if there minds are mostly a mish mash a lot of darkness and a few glimmers of light.
The Russian internal front looks more solid than some here have been fearing—-but the opportunity for information war resistance guerillas against psychopathy in high places to more effectively wield the weapon of truth and free the minds of prisoners and victims of the Empire right here in the West are getting better every day. If you doubt that or don’t know that, try speaking what you know more often, to more people. For to “know” and not to act (ie speak) is not to know much!!. Whereas to know imperfectly but to speak what knowledge you have is to know more than before you spoke it.
Thank you for your optimism. I hope it’s contagious.
I do not love the article. It is ‘provincial’ in some sense and the humor is not my humor. My natural pretentiousness would see me sooner sitting with the ‘poseurs’ in the Jean Jacques Cafe.
But I believe it does accurately represent a majority view in Russia. And for the West to see this is bound to be a salutary experience.
So, ultimately, kudos to Markin and the Saker.
It was a pleasure to read a good-humoured post with an expectation of a happy end. The Plan could have the acronym STYEP – sounds more Russian.
And the translator did a superb job; it seems like an enhancement on the original!
Kim
Makes one smile, thanks.
This article led me to a Russian language and photo description of a Russian paradise that is a Russian language children’s learning center, just totally remade. Destroyed twice (once by Ukrainians, once before that by Nazis) it is up and running and quite incredible! It shows the Russian commitment to the future of Russia by how it protects it’s own and opens the world to them in an unique ways only large wealthy nations can. Few do so! What first came to mind to me on seeing this, having lived so long in the USA which was to save us half US refugees from Nazi-ism, are the 30 to 50 million US children today who will never have a future as they, starving for fresh food, non-poisonous water, are fed only starving rations of throw away, commercial, non-nutrative food, stuntingly dirty water.
Please publish this globally, widely! In translations too!
Suzanne,
I live in the USA with my family.
MY children are innoculated to MSM porpaganda, in fact, it is them who made me a ‘truther’.
BUt alas!I cannot feed them healthy food because everything is tainted., including water from aquifers.
Only healthy food is grown in Russia, where Monsanto is banned, I cannot wait to go there.
Outstanding! I really needed to read this. Sometimes it seems that everything is a psyops operation.
even the truth is appropriated by it’s own enemies and used for nefarious purposes.
Truth is a spirit. Those with the spirit of truth seek it.
It is not a political ideology, party, bloodline or religion.
In media the very form and framework that must be accommodated is against truth.
I have often noticed Russian TV programing (what little I see of it) is comically imitative of Hollywood. They even use the same archetypes in their cast of characters (including physical resemblances.
Thanks for this article.
I must also ad, great comment by Bro Anon!
“Truth is a spirit. Those with the spirit of truth seek it. It is not a political ideology, party, bloodline or religion.”
Of course, and this is why has no sense that, when not so few reflective and long time commenter people here indentify an article, or a theory or a statement, as more in the line of the untruths widespread by MSM, some here indentify this attitude with idelogies or agendas of any kind. Quite more those with agenda and against the truth are those who, by insults and disqualifications try to discredit or silence those seeking it.
And then, George, after hear from you all your suspicions/doubts about some alternative media being also Psyops, which seemed so well-founded by your knowledge on Charles Baussman´s father curriculum and of the same Charles ( unknown for me till then ), in addition to your extensive experience in Afghanistan and Iraq and your no less comprehensive treatment of Western expatriates in Crimea some of whom turned out to be “contractors” or “former contractors retired”, information provided by you that helped to shape the doubts we had7have others here, and even to plant more, and then, we to understand that all these suspicions / doubts you had have been erased from your mind by reading these statements by Mr. Markin, which are more on average Russian media and not just on alternative?
I must say that I am puzzled, but not at all surprised.
I’m getting an idea of the game that many are deploying here to discredit some who have reasonable doubts.
Care to expand on your thoughts of George? I’m curious, I must have missed his comments about fellow expats and such.

Well, Auslander, I do not know if I would be able to expand more my thoughts on George or whoever, and even if I would like to do it, as I have extended myself on this blog to the point I’m starting to be aware that there are almost a whole company of people trying to confuse and discredit me, and just when I was in my daily walk I was thinking of going increasingly observative instead of so “expansive.”
I had not seen George Pierce here on this blog until he appeared in that thread about the brave statements Charles Bausman’s did in a Russian TV where he was linking an article about how PSYOP operations work and how they were including/infiltrating even alternative media supposedly pro-Russian. That article mentioned George Eliason, and although I found it a bit confusing with my bad English, I realized that was casting doubt on George Eliason and people who might be reporting from Crimea. In this regard, I added that when, in one of your articles on the blog, you were talking about some expat foreigners who disappeared after the reunification of Crimea with Russia, I was going to ask about what your feelings about these people were, but finally I did not for lack of time, but I thought they might well be spies. Then I asked George Pierce clarification on all of these, but he did not directly answer anything about my doubts about that article, but told some things about their experiences with expatriates in Crimea.
For little idea I could have about George Pierce, since he claimed to have worked in both Afghanistan and Iraq, I concluded that he could not be a Russian veteran, and for the circles he frequented in Crimea, that he could be probably a ( former?) contractor.
This is all I can expand, and I’m overextending myself, as usual.
I will put the link to that discussion here, but please, since I have extended myself, I would ask you to tell me your impressions about all this, if you do not mind, Auslander. By the way, I had made up my mind for your articles that you were an American expatriate in Crimea because your girlfriend / wife was from there, but George Pierce is saying that he thought your wife was German.
In the end, everyone makes me talk, but thay do not loose token, neither unklnown newcomers nor old acquaintances. Some ask me what I have researched so far, but then the only I get from the so intelligent people who populates this blog are vaguenesses. Some days fulano asks me, other days, mengano
What is all this? No idea, but I have the fly in the .
Here the link to the point where George pierce´s comment stastas and the following discussion, but perhaps you could find interesting to read all the thread.

Elsi:
Perhaps it would help if I try to explain myself.
That is if you’re not just an artificial persona invented by the evil Auslander to try to trap me. (I joke)
Bauseman sticks in my craw because in RI, he pretends to be a plucky little independent website that is a counter to the corporate media. “Taming the corporate media beast” is right there on the masthead. In reality, anyone with a bit of curiosity, and two brain cells to rub together can easily find out that he is a product of the corporate media. he has the connections of the corporate media, and they are helping him to …What? Tame themselves?
I am not trying to confuse or demoralize the troops. I merely hate being lied to, and when I see others being lied to, I feel duty bound to carefully try and enlighten them. Funny how Bausman is given the benefit of a doubt, but his detractors all must be working for the empire, or are just horrible people who are full of sour grapes.
Oh well, It’s easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Mark Twain said that, and he both fooled and unfooled a lot of people.
Touch not God’s anointed! if Bauseman, is given (or acquires) a forum and power to influence tens of thousands, who is the dirty faced little bastard that accuses him, or calls him into question?
That would be me. It is my calling. One of them anyway.
Please allow me to introduce myself. I preach openness, transparency and full disclosure. I was born Dale Alan Pierce. I changed my name to George because I have always hated the name Dale.
I was an outlaw biker for ten years, I was good at it. and hard core, but got tired of the treachery. (Seems like half the outlaw bikers I met were undercover cops, informants, or Judas goats
. Then, after a religious conversion, (personal encounter with Christ) I became a protestant ministry support worker (full time unpaid) After discovering the con jobs, head games and exploitation in that subculture were just as bad as in the outlaw world (just less forthright), I cooled my heels a while, as just an average working stiff, (equipment operator / millwright). I read voraciously in my spare time, and studied Western Literature under my own direction (The five foot shelf). Sweet time those years.
Then about 2004, I felt adventuresome, I went to Afghanistan to work for KBR as a crane operator. I did four years there, then two in Iraq. During this time I married a lovely Crimean woman and bought a house in Crimea.
I now go to the US to work short contract jobs wherever I can find them. I am in Northern Indiana now trying to fix things in a severely mismanaged auto stamping plant.
My ambition is to write books and articles full time.
I could write a book about how American liberal anglo-zionist ideology is ruining industry.
I could write a book about how the synthetic, contrived, media marketing biker culture has replaced the spontaneous organic one.
I could write a book about protestant church behavioral control mechanisms, CIA links, doctrinal fallacies and soul rape.
I could write a book about comically absurd corruption and incompetence in local government in Crimea.
I have already written a book that outlines a description of an architecture for a fourth political theory in answer to A. Dugin’s book “THE FOURTH POLITICAL THEORY” which I took to be a challenge to come up with some support material.
https://store.bookbaby.com/book/unified-separatism
I flogged it relentlessly on many political, Russian, Alt-right, and other blogs. I got a lot of encouragement from the other commenters.
It has sold a whopping eight copies thus far.
I am now translating it into Russian (with some hired help, my Russian is pretty basic.)
My next book will explain the multifaceted evil evils and the few unsustainable goods of Western liberalism to the unsuspecting Russian people, from the perspective of an articulate, strong spirited proletarian American who has seen how the beast works from inside industry, outlaw culture, and the Church.
I know it needs to be done. I know I am the best qualified.
I was really moved by Saker’s Submarines in the desert piece. I am slogging away in a doomed factory twelve hours a day, seven days a week. ( I have to make my money in big chunks then take it home on the plane because of sanctions)
I am a submarine in the desert. Or perhaps a dune-buggy at the bottom of the sea.
I need to be writing. Should I crowd fund? Talk to an oligarch? Sell add space? Take donations?
I would, but I don’t have resources, time, tech knowhow, a secretary and staff, connections ect.
Were I a tenured university professor, I could assign my students to research, write, and edit my next book.
See how that stuff works? Who will be the voice for the poor weird?
Party membership. Do what it takes to get it, or be ignored.
When the going gets weird, the weird should stick together.
Don’t buy that net-flex movie that denigrates your culture and beliefs just because it is entertaining. support someone who shares your ideas.
But don’t worry about me. I’ll find a way. Somehow, someway. That is just how I roll.
In the spirit of openness and disclosure and transparency (What my theoretical political infrastructure is based on in my book) I hereby reveal the identity of yours truly.
Who is this George Pierce anyway?

NSA can find out all they want to about me or anyone else so why try to hide?
Internet is full of bizarre people who even could threaten my family. Well that is life.
I’m old school and smarter than average. If someone does me a favor like that, I will unrelentingly hunt them down, and cut their G.D. thumbs off.
Here is my DISCUS page.
https://disqus.com/by/Wortherthorth/
I have been commenting for years and if you have time to pour through a lot of it, you’ll find I am consistent.
My Discuss page is not for delicate little flowers. I am a regular at Takie’s magazine. It is kind of like an old English public house where outspoken and passionate men (and a few women) of diverse opinions and backgrounds smoke their virtual cigars, drink their virtual cognac and test each other’s wit and tolerance. We are a bit ribald and rough with each other, but good natured humor, drollery and élan covereth a multitude of sins against delicacy and decorum.
Warning! It is NOT politically correct.
I will be back home for a few weeks in Early May. If Auslander is who I think He is, I would like to meet again. He may contact me through Peter P. or direct (Saker should have my Email) We can meet down by the ferry at the Potato House. It’ll be fun.
And you my dear Elis, seem earnest, honest, and desperate for a little truth in this crazy world.
Seek and ye SHALL find. It is a hard profession, but worth it.
Have you seen this?

It’s a beautiful movie. Grab some simple little snacks, some hot tea, and Relax.
Dear George,
Thanks a lot for introducing yourself, really it was not necessary such an exposure, but anyway, I loved to hear about you, you sound like a honest and hard working guy, and really loved seeing the pictures of your babies, but, my God, could anyone be more beautiful? You are really a lucky, man.
Well, forgive me if I made a film with your data in that post, but we must recognize that even to work with a crane, Afghanistan and Iraq are not the most common destinations in the world, when you could work for a bunch of turkeys in Qatar or Saudi Arabia where one is not exposed to a terrorist attack each hour of the day.
Also I want to tell you that I am not so easy to scandalize, in fact one of my brothers is a guy of your profile, and I love him, only when he hugs me so strongly sometimes I’m afraid of breaking myself because, me yes, I am more the kind of “little delicate flower”, in appearance, but I adapt myself easily to all kinds of environments, you should see me. So if I have a while, I might step on your discussion forum to see what is told over there.
And related to doubts and suspicions, I understood you having yours not only on Russian Insider but on all other alternative media.
Well, what else can I tell you, that you seemed to me quite enigmatic and so I rode a bit and made some film.
In any case, I am finding in this blog an abnormally high number of:
-former preachers
-Americans married or paired with Ukrainian women living in Crimea.
-people who writes books who have published none of some and want to publish the first or another.
You seem a reflective guy, I’m surprised that you come even to think about a whole political system. I wish you the best with your book, maybe when I have an e-reader, that I have not, I will bought it.
Nice to meet, you, and I wish the best for you and your family, good luck for upbringing well those little treasures you have.
P.S: Excuse me if I do not do such a personal exposure you have done, I do not have any social network nor any plan to have one, but, besides, for the little I’ve told in this blog over these years and the few people who know my real identity , I’ve had some not so pleasant surprise already, and I’m not a hard gal like you, therefore I prefer to be more discreet and careful from now on.
Thanks a lot for the link to that film, i will see it on the week end.
I’ve also had doubts about RI -even as a volunteer but have continued to contribute financially. Did you see what Peter Lavelle just put out? It’s rather unfortunate to see such division but here it is. I hope they can patch things up. Friends of Russia ought to be united -not divided by greed or ego.
The smoking gun: Charles Bausman and fraud at Russia Insider
“I have often noticed Russian TV programming (what little I see of it) is comically imitative of Hollywood. They even use the same archetypes in their cast of characters (including physical resemblances.”
True, and I find it indeed sickening. I suppose it all started in 1990s, but what is the excuse for it *now*?
In fact, in their forced imitation they are outdoing Hollywood with their stupid TV “debates” (who are they kidding?): with some table or platform in the middle of the room with an ear-phoned & micro-phoned idiot “referee”, and two groups of “debaters” standing, facing each other, boxed by shiny metal railings, and everybody screaming at the same time, and all that under morbid psychedelic lights. A self-humiliating show of cultural submission to the American barbarism on steroids.
“A court in the Saratov region has accepted a lawsuit filed by local resident Nikolai Suvorov which calls for the removal of Russian President Vladimir Putin from his post, the local FreeNews-Volga news agency reported Thursday.
Suvorov said in a letter to the court that Putin is “an enemy of the state … for his plunder of Russia and impoverishment of the Russian people.”
The preliminary hearing is set to start on April 28. Putin or his representative must make a statement on these allegations before April 25. Local residents had attempted to file a similar lawsuit against the president in March but it was not accepted by the court.
Numerous Moscow courts have in recent months rejected repeated lawsuits filed by opposition leader Alexei Navalny accusing the president of corruption.”

note Putin has been at St Petersberg at a media conference asking reporters to be aware of outside interference which might promote disunity of Russia etc etc
Speaking to the press in St. Petersburg, known as ‘the City of Three Revolutions’ in Russia, President Vladimir Putin asked reporters to work honestly and openly so that their efforts do not result in yet another revolution.
“It is symbolic that we gather here in St. Petersburg again. Why? [Because] St. Petersburg, or Leningrad, has been named the City of Three Revolutions. I hope that the result of your efforts will be not a fourth revolution but, on the contrary, you will work honestly and openly and contribute to the natural, correct and just balance of interests in our society,” Putin said on Thursday, addressing the participants of the mass media forum organized by the All-Russian Popular Front movement.
“Free press can be an enemy only for crooks, criminals and those who steal from the state budget. For the authorities as such, for those who serve their people such situation is impossible,” Putin stated.
About 450 reporters from across the country are taking part in the event.
The All-Russian Popular Front is a broad movement registered in 2011. It unites moderate conservatives who support Putin and his policies, but for whatever reason do not want to join the parliamentary majority United Russia party, which has a very similar agenda. United Russia, however, does not see the front as competition and at the latest elections it offered quarter of its parliamentary seats to the movement’s members.
The first mass media forum organized by the All-Russian Popular Front took place in St. Petersburg in April last year.

I wonder if amongst these Three Revolutions taking part in St. Petersburg could be considered the “Decembrist Revolt” on 25th December 1825.
I would like to hear something about this from The Saker, when he finds a time slot.
Looked very progresive for those ancient Tsarist times, and besides was leadered by some aristocrats. In the end, was suffocated and they all finished sentenced to death or serving sentences in Siberia, of course losing all their noble privileges even for their offspring.
Until a final answer by TheSaker you may perhaps be content with some bits from the Russian wikipedia. According to them, yes, there were four revolutions in Sanktpeterburg: 1825 the Decabrist uprising you write about, then 1905 the revolution that was followed by some democratic reforms (Duma etc.), and then, in 1917, in Feb/Mar 1917 the bourgeois/Kerenskij revolution, and in Oct/Nov the socialist/Lenin’s revolution.
Yes, aristocrats manned the Decabrist conspiracy/ies and started the uprising, taking measures to not let the lower military knows what it was all about, “because then no one would take part in it”. The uprising lasted one day during the interregnum between the death of the last czar and the coronation of the next one, and was gunned down (1271 dead), so that by comparison a clearly smaller number, 121, were judged by the courts. While the sentences were draconic (the five main culprits were to be torn into four pieces), they were later attenuated. The five were hanged (and lost their noble privileges with their lives), but nowhere do they mention that their or their offspring’s belonging to the noble class was revoked (“of course” or out of course) – this (sippenhaft: punishing the relatives, too, for being relatives) is a speciality of german nazism, from father Adolf through to daughter Angela.
You seem to overdo your disgust a bit, when you say that “they all finished sentenced to death or serving sentences in Siberia”, when the number was not exactly “all” of the participants of the uprising, and being hanged and beeing sent to hard labour often could be seen as not the same degree of punishment. Many of the Siberia sentences were for 10 or less years (16: life long), and all were amnestied in 1856. Compare that with the renazification sh§t country of Germany where *everybody* who speaks or prints political dissent will be stabbed in the back not with knives but with character murder, always without any accusation, any trial, any chance of getting out again – thus a lifelong sentence of living in the isolation of a personal KZ without barbed wire by a vehm or kukluxklan kind of “court”. Yes, we German’s have a thousand years plan, too (Angela’s father mentioned it often) – to make this country ever more debile and disgusting.
Speaking of Angela Hitler and her executions for political dissent, a new case is on its way. You remember perhaps that in the beginning of the Angela Hitler regime her regime “satirists” (the only satire allowed in nazi Germany /jokes about Jews in Der Stürmer/ and renazification Germany is ridiculing the self-kukluxed enemies of the regime by people ordered to do it) ridiculed the Polish Kaczynski brothers as “Polish potatoes”: how incredibly comical for a politician to look like a potato! what a smashing proof of political inaptitude! especially when compared with the celestial beauty of, say, Angela Hitler. The next step in proving their inaptitude was their murder with a run-of-the-mill plane explosion in Smolensk (oops, one of them escaped by chance, this was against the plan) for which two of the perps, our german bombing specialist Klaus Kandt and Angela Hitler’s Polish murder-helper, Tusk, were beautifully rewarded with
very well paid jobs. Now, since two days, we have the next regime humour party: a regime satirist made jokes about Erdogan in the most encrunched regime TV, the ZDF, so that Erdogan’s being as ridiculous and incapable as the Kaczynskis is already a proven fact. Now we are all invited to take part in the next laughter: when a Turkish plane will “fall down” by, ha-ha, “bad weather and drunk pilots”, and, who would have thought that, somebody ridiculous and incapable happens to be onboard… It will be interesting to see who after that will again be rewarded by Angela Hitler with the Karlspreis and well paid jobs.
Well, it is precisely in Wikipedia where I have read the few I know about The Decembrist Revolt.
I really have no time to read about all issues.
Direct Line with Vladimir Putin will take place on April 14 at midday
The 14th annual Direct Line with Vladimir Putin will start at midday Moscow time on April 14 and will be broadcast by television channels Channel One, Rossiya 1, Rossiya 24, and radio stations Mayak, Vesti FM, and Radio Rossii.
Is it possible to get these channels on the internet outside Russia do you know? I take it RT isn’t screening it live.
How can those of us outside Moscow see it in real time, do you have any suggestions?
Many thanks.
I think I remember? RT does it live……..

question whether you need a translation………
I just loved this, it is so honest & true and right, what a breath of sweet fresh air, most of all I want to believe every word, thankyou Vladimir Markin, I feel like I am home in Russia tonight, X
variya, I agree.
I just have read the original in Russian, and it is very powerful. Unlike western politicians, there is absolutely no patronising in Markin’s address, just straigtforward honesty with fellow compatriots.
The cultivation of what has been called a ‘comprador’ elite in imperalism’s target countries has been THE method whereby to imperial power was established and endured. How else could the British rule a country (India) of 300 million people directly, other than by recruiting an indigenous group willing to cooperate with the British and share in the plunder of their own country. British rule in India was very well captured this policy in the Novels of E.M.Forster ‘A Passage to India’ and George Orwell, ‘Burmese Days’. The British elite themselves had no qualms about how India was to be treated and governed. As the Marquess of Salisbury, Secretary of State for India in 1854 announced ”As India is to be bled, the bleeding is to be done judiciously.’ They also had no qualms about brutal putting down the Indian insurrection in killing up to 100,000 rebellious Indian rebel soldiers and over the ensuing 10 years some 10 million Indian civilians.
The western plan for Russia has been openly outlined by inter alia Zbignew Bryszenski: Destabilization and regime change. Russia is to be broken up, colonilised, and be simply a raw material producer serving the needs of western economic and financial interests. Such was the case during the disastrous years of Yeltsin’s rule. Read ‘Godfather of the Kremlin’ a reference to Berezovsky by Paul Crucial Klebnikov, an American journalist of Russian extraction, who was later murdered, ‘probably’ on Berezovsky’s orders. This compardor elite is an internal fifth column who will be recruited for either purely mercenary reasons, or some spurious ideological nonsense about western values. There is nothing particularly wrong about being critical of your own government, indeed you might well be playing a constructive role – but aiding and abetting a foreign power, is another thing altogether.
All well and good, as they say, but it might be good to add that the “treatments” handed out to those who deal with the dark forces of empire – to those who cooperate, like Kadafi, and those who don’t cooperate too, is brutal and deadly. Thus does Empire create a stark choice, surrender and die is one choice, the other is to resist. Given the terrible history of the Slavic Peoples it is obvious what their choice must be. Failure can happen many ways. But, of course, this applies to Empires as well as the people they attempt to subjugate and the countries they attempt to loot.
It’s early days, but my own sense is that Syria was Stalingrad, the tide has turned, but there’s a terrible and dangerous slogging campaign remaining. Pity!
Pax, Brothers.
Agree, and although I did not know about this Russian official, Mr.Vladimir Markin, I had already understood time ago, by President Putin statement and his attitude towards pro-West Russian media journalists, that a plan is in the making, and that this openess to be interviewed even by them fills in the plan, as a means for them to show their cards, their senseless arguments and, at the same time, send a message to the Russians against being carried away by hatred.
And this position, as could be seen in Mr. Markin´s article, is developed by all Russian officials, included here, of course, Mrs. María Zakharova.
Anyway, despite the rays of light, Bro Anon is talking about, one could happily discover coming from the common people who seemed to be abducted by the stream of the MSM, many remain blind and deaf, and one only has to hear what the oppinion by some about Comrade Putin is in his work place, amongst people supposedly having a bit of culture, and even in TV programs conducted for people of long left tradition to feel horror enough.
Elsi, I hope you take this the right way. I’m no Polyanna, I know the reality out there, and I agree with you. It’s mostly dark, confused, treacherous, disappointing, etc.
You kind of put yourself out there with a lot of openness, trust and some vulnerability and expect some reciprocation and you mostly get something perhaps less warm, less open, less trusting than you hoped for. I empathize, but at the same time what comes to my mind is something I read by, I think it was Uncle Bob 1,or someone else, over a year ago, in response to a female’s complaining post about the rigors of the information war. I don’t think that female was you. (Her complaint was rather brief……… lol.)
Anyway, whoever the male was, the first 4 letters of his post were simply: “Suck it up, Buttercup.”
Followed by one or two sentences to finish his point: This is a war.
Real people in a community like this have care about each other. Most are just more guarded than you are. An d then there are trolls and agents, conscious or unconscious. As for those in your environment, I’d ask you to view the matter a bit differently than you express it in your concluding paragraph, above. The issue is less “the common people” and their dullness and ignorance than it is YOU: I wouldn’t say ANY light is to be expected to be found emanating from any of them. Almost all faint photons coming off of them is a mere reflection of the mind control of their environment. Their tongues reflect back mostly (99%) what their eyes and ears have received, without any added insight or intelligence. How can they build on a foundation of crap, lies?? They can’t. They don’t know how. They tired of trying a long time ago. They are suffering. Their souls and spirits are nearly buried. That’s a given. The point is, what can YOU muster, by way of compassion, intelligence and insight, humor or whatever it takes, that you could speak, that the more sentient among them could recognize as different, as stirring a few of their brain cells, and heart molecules, and reflect back at least some of the light emitted by YOU? If they can’t reflect anything human back, then it’s “Next!”
I don’t know you well, but I tend to believe you’ll get stronger, and one day you’ll recognize yourself in someone else, and know exactly what to say to them that will make them smarter and more caring than you found them. Paz, y confianza en su luz:
https://youtu.be/J2kDsqGeoLU A little bit fills a lot of darkness. Feed your flame.
…
Bro Anon,
What could be the scope of the light one carries within, without having faith in the light carried within by others?
You admit you don’t know Elsi well, yet you insist to deliver her an unsolicited advisory.
Not only that, you also seem capable of remote viewing the psyche of the people she happens to associate with in her daily life. We can’t all be ‘enlightened Sakerites’, they must be common people whose “souls and spirits are nearly buried“.
Unless these poor souls are lucky enough to bask in the light and humanity reflected back to them by an exceptional person like yourself, they must be eternally damned to “reflect back mostly (99%) what their eyes and ears have received, without any added insight or intelligence“.
The goodness, joy of life and common sense of ‘ordinary people’ expressed in their various daily activities contributes far more light to the world than the faithless venomous cynicism of pseudo analysts who gradually turn into pillars of salt mesmerized by gazing prolonged into the abyss.
Herein lies the secret of the destiny of Russia and the Earth.
The conspiracy of geo-politics is only one narrow funnel to perceive and apprehend reality because it concerns only one narrow aspect of it. Few people care, even less understand.
The diversity of people, their unique talents, the spirit of individuals, peoples and nations is what is going to eventually get us out of this quagmire.
…
Human 2.0 I welcome your unsolicited input, even though I have confidence that elsi can answer for herself,
As for degrees of unsolicitedness, elsi in her comment referenced a comment earlier by yours truly.
If you made any original comments, I’m sorry, I missed them.
In any case, there’s a lot more to be said, but I have moved most of the substance of what I have to say today and for the next 2-3 days to the Moveable Feast Cafe with the fantastic glass etching work in the window, and a real fox sitting behind that work………… clearly demonstrating that the Architect of the Universe is Boss, and the glass guy is his humble apprentice……..
Anyway, at the Cafes, anybody can wander in and say whatever unsolicited sense or nonsense is on their minds. We are all invited, so “Be There, or Be Square”.
But bring some music please. I had a surgical procedure today, and I haven’t yet been up to adding to the cafe ambiance. Neither has anybody else.
“Hasta la vista, baby. I’ll be back. Get to the chopper!” Hollywood quiz 1.0 contest prize to be revealed later. (and how to claim it. Only foreigners may enter. No prize will be mailed to a US address or mail drop. Fair is Fair…………….. Actor? And 3 movies. 4 answers total.
I’m outta here.
“I had a surgical procedure today ”
A CNS surgery?
“and I haven’t yet been up to adding to the cafe ambiance. Neither has anybody else.”
You speak for yourself.
Sorry Ralf, I don’t know the meaning of CNS. Explain please, but in the cafe. Didn’t I say “Im outta here??? That means this thread.
I also apologize for not noticing your music contribution to the Moveable Feast Cafe (OPENED APRIL 12 is what I am referring to……….) IF, IF, IF you posted such today. So yes, I did speak for myself, in terms of clearly indicated category of MUSIC (no denigration of the conversation there was intended………) so you are absolutely 100% right, because I didn’t have the strength to search for appropriate music to post nor to verify absolutely that no one else did either (the quite possibly fallible result of my first rushed skim job of all posts prior to my own……) , due to my weakened condition, OKAY?????
…
Words were never really meant to convey meaning, rather to veil it. If occasionally meaning does seem to get transmitted, it is only because it was lingering all along somewhere within the heart and mind of the beholder.
Either way, I wish you a healthy recovery from your surgery.
…
Thanks, Bro Anon, really your words made me feel well, I think at least you can see me a bit to the extent that is possible in this blogosphere.they
And yes, you’re right, that “real people” here care for each other, but I think that in the end are very few. The reason for my disappointment with this blog is that, when arrived here I thought there was just “real people” here, and after two and a half years since I arrived many “real people” who were not perfect, because they were human, have been going, harassed by those who are “not real people”, and who for sure are payed for harassing others. It’s disgusting and depressing, but I am aware that it is a war.
Look, I’m somewhat vulnerable, this is true, and occasionally shed a tear when I see someone who believed my friend has betrayed my trust, but you see, I’m still here, standing.
Thanks a lot for the song, very beautiful, I loved it.
If it were not for you and others like plainsman, I would not be able to know these authors from times when I was not even born.

What so attracts me to Russians is their soul. And then their heart. And then their mind. They have spirit, constancy and intellect.
Reading the original article in Russian brought me to his newspaper in Tschelyabinsk.
And there I was curious about earnings as a sophisticated skilled systems programmer.
Offers start at 280 EUR per month and don’t exceed about 400 EUR per month:

Any more questions about income inequality in Russia?
If you watch some average movies from Russia this gets confirmed, such as here:

So how useful is it to the sub-prime residents that Russia has beautiful city-centres, some wonderful bridges and ski resorts like St.Moritz?
Relieved to see you posting again Martin.
I had visions of you being dragged through the streets, bound and cuffed for refusing to subsidize German state propaganda..:)
Kudos to the translator for the skill in maintaining the humor.
As one trapped in a certain sick, shallow, materialistic, ego-concentric, and insecure ‘Western’ society, I find the humor refreshing and delightful -simply because it is edifying to those of a more sound mentality.
Sound and honorable minds ought to be the ones which prevail -no matter what the nationality.
There might not be hope for all societies yet, there is hope for humanity.
Ooo-rah! A Secret Thousand-Year Plan!
My worries are over.
I tried to post yesterday – it was rejected. I suppose because I used a forbidden word? At any rate, I understand the article in so far as the author describes the present situation in Russia. And I heartily agree with his assessment. However, what makes me uncomfortable is this reference to a ‘Thousand Year Plan’ which he never describes and only alludes to. What is this ‘Plan’? Who developed it? Who currently administers it?
Perhaps I am simply taking the article at face value, not understanding a deeper meaning, esp that which might lie beneath the so-called ‘Thousand Year Plan’.
I think all Markin is saying is that Russia is not merely back, but here to stay. Even though people tried many times, and still are trying, to ‘wipe it off the map’.
Guys, and ladies.
Don’t take Markin’s words about “a Secret Thousand Year Plan” literally, as something man-made..
He refers to thousand years as an age of Russian Empire.
What he means under the “Secret Thousand Year Plan” is a natural historical flow of national life, ideas and practices. He refers to many parts of a puzzle that makes a “national destiny.”
I once went to a Russian restaurant on the basis of a review which I thought had been positive. (I am not Russian-born but speak the language).
To make a long story short, in a most embarrassing way, I discovered that I had totally missed the ‘tone’ that the author intended. It had been dripping with vicious sarcasm as only a Moscow review knows how to. To add to the difficulty of understanding Russia, especially in the Nineties when this even occurred, the food was quite good. A bribe had probably not been forthcoming or a waitress would not sleep with the reviewer.
I sometimes like to think that The Moscow Times aspires to this kind of Doublespeak as they damn Russia and nibble on certain body parts of The West. But that would also raise it in my esteem.
” It had been dripping with vicious sarcasm as only a Moscow review knows how to”
LOL. That’s a good one!
This is just bats**t crazy. I know the propensity of Russians to believe conspiracy theories – had the fun to deal with this in my own family (Rus-Ger- religious fundamentalist) – but this is some next-level. Saker, I know you want to keep an open mind and you publish different authors with disparate viewpoints, but honestly, made up stories like the “thousand year plan” aren’t helpful; just like the “protocols of Zion” (don’t know the exact name, but you get the idea). Why not publish a short excerpt of Naruto or Dragonball to cover all angles? Seriously, if there was any evidence supporting the story, but this way, the article damages the sites credibility.
I’d also like it was true, that all that happened was at least managed by some Russian patriots, but far from it, the contemporary Russian elite is a very, very big burden on Russia. The liberal part is in power, controls the most important government functions and its basic modus of operandi is rob and run (nether forget, that the head of Sberbank did not recognize Crimea as Russian, so he wouldn’t risk his assets overseas and in the EU).
Actually, I see the contemporary Russia, as dying Titan, that has its extremities chopped off. What I mean by that is, that Russia has lost any sense of purpose (Why does Russia exist? Is it only another global market participant or something real, individual and unique?). The old Soviet and WW2 victory memory is fading away with each generation and the youth is gradually brainwashed with a liberal education and a globalist mindset, soon the collective Russian mind will have lost all that made it an Empire. There is no mindset of WE as a unity, instead a mindset of how to get rich quick and how to be accepted in the capitalist world. Sure after the Russian spring 2014 / 2015 there was hope, but it turned out to be a major disappointment. The connective tissue, that should have brought about a supporting matrix around the people (ideology, institutions …), has not formed.
The ravages of time, esp. in a globalist/capitalist environment, will grind away any pocket of resistance – only a society that acts as a unity (the individual not the devided rest, which is priced and sold off in transaction) will preserve its culture and heritage. The Third Rome in all its reincarnations should continue its line of civilization, the Middle Kingdom does at least put up a fight…
@jjAres Nachtigall
I share your apprehensions about what’s going on and can’t turn my head around the differing messages coming out from Russia. One wonders their level of awareness about the dangers confronting the Russian people.
The western empire will not forget or forgive and will not give up on their plans for subjugation of Russia.
Nearly 100 years ago Russia was in a similar situation: a pack of foreign dogs (France, England, Poland, Turkey, Japan, even the US troops invaded Siberia) joined the White Guards with the clear intention of dismembering the nascent USSR. It was touch and go and the Revolution only survived by dint of the people’s remarkable spiritual attachment to Mother Russia.
I fear that spirit is missing in her hour of need now.

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. The attempts of influencing political processes in the Latin American countries from outside are absolutely unacceptable, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after talks with his Bolivian counterpart David Choquehuanca on Tuesday.
Russia’s top diplomat reminded that Washington has recently claimed that Russia is working against the interests of the United States in Latin America. “I would not like to comment. Probably, such conclusions are made due to one’s own immorality.”
“But we are convinced that democratic constitutional processes should be fully respected in any state and that interference from outside and attempts to influence these processes and to set some political forces against those in other capitals that they dislike are absolutely unacceptable,” Lavrov stressed.

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. Cooperation between China and Russia is a stabilizing factor of the international policy, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.
“Our cooperation in international affairs, including partnership in the UN Security Council as its permanent members, joint stances on defending the UN key role in the settlement of any problems and respect for the international legislature when dealing with different conflicts and crises, is one of the main factors allowing to keep balance and stabilize international conditions,” Lavrov said in an interview with Chinese, Japanese and Mongolian media.
According to the minister, such cooperation is extremely important at the time when outside “interference into domestic affairs of sovereign states and attempts to impose on them ways to solve problems undermine stability of the international system, sometimes leading to chaos,” so extremists and terrorists benefit from such conditions, as it can be observed in the Middle East and North Africa.
“Taking into account such turbulence in the global policy, situation in the international affairs, the Russian-Chinese strategic partnership, which favors the international legislation, and our practical steps to implement this philosophy are an important stabilizing factor,” Lavrov said.

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. The United States is trying to put pressure on Russia over the Syrian settlement matters, which does not promote military-to-military cooperation between the two countries in Syria, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has said.
“We have recently observed cases when issues are politicized, when contacts and meetings in New York and Geneva are used to exert pressure on Russia. We note that some senior officials in the US Administration are invisibly present behind these cases. We reject this approach,” Ryabkov said.
“This is not a partnership approach, this kind of things does not promote cooperation, including between the militaries [in Syria — TASS],” he noted.
According to Ryabkov, the US Administration has consistently adhered to “some framework in its practical line.” “This is the refusal to cooperate with the authorities in Damascus and the issue of tactical cooperation in terms of the use of force with Russia’s air group in Syria,” he said. “This is regrettable. If such cooperation was launched, this would make it possible to do away with the ISIS and al-Nusra (terrorist groups banned in Russia – TASS).” “However, as long as political considerations hinder this, we have to reckon with this stance. We see nothing tragic about it and believe this is a source of regret,” he said.

Yes I like that ”Destiny of Russia” WAS – IS – WILL BE ….
Please, Mod, could you put my name in the last comment in response to Bro Anon?
Thanks a lot. Good night.
THANK YOU for the article. to me a non-russian ..it is another wonderful way to understand more the country and people that i have always admired since i was a child in far-away, different, philippines.
for me, even learning geography and about cultures , and brought up by my mom to always love the different cultures for their uniqueness..and with her own particular admiration for the russian culture passing on to her children…
it is indeed the UNIQUENESS of Russia – the grandeur of her culture and her people’s history reflecting and shaped by their immense land and its challenges — that remains in my own heart what makes Russia my most admired country.
Please STAY RUSSIA forever – because russia is an inspiration to many peoples elsewhere.
The situation of the Western Press I have in many cases described with my letter to DER SPIEGEL

Symphatisanten – vom SPIEGEL Separatisten genannt- konstruierte.
Sehr verehrte Damen, sehr geehrte Herren!
