A frequent topic among both contributors and commentators on this site is the discussion as to whether the Special Military Operation in the Ukraine will take a few months or a few years. It is a common question and there are different opinions. Let me say now that I am not qualified even to speculate on this, let alone have an opinion. I do not know the answer and I suspect that many highly-placed people in the military and among politicians do not know the answer either.
In any case why is an answer to this question so important? Originally, this was not a war, but a limited Operation, still involving a small proportion of the Russian Armed Forces. Had Russia wanted to occupy the Ukraine with massive military violence, in German, with a ‘Blitzkrieg’, in American, with ‘shock and awe’, with hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of victims, all could have been done in a couple of weeks. However, this is not Hollywood. That was not the aim.
The clear aim was to free the Russian part of the Ukraine and to demilitarise and denazify the rest, so it would no longer present a threat to the Russian World. Obviously, doing this meant not just winning the genodical war which the backers of the Kiev regime had begun in 2014, but also doing it, causing the smallest number of victims among the Russian and Allied military and Ukrainian civilians as possible, and at the same time doing the least amount of damage to civilian infrastructure as possible.
Pictures showing huge damage to civilian infrastructure, especially in Mariupol and Donetsk, show above all the enormous amount of damage done by NATO-backed Kiev regime bombardments over the last eight years. It was clear to Russian military and political planners that the Operation would take at least months, perhaps years, as the whole of the Kiev Armed Forces had been digging in here for eight years. Russia knew that in order to win a war, you have to win the peace afterwards.
It was no good doing like the Americans did in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan, destroying infrastructure, making the people hate you and then, once you realise that you have lost, running away, leaving chaos and misery. The Russian authorities also knew that since NATO had already de facto declared war on Russia in 2014, the Operation to liberate the Ukraine through denazification and demilitarisation would further activate their war effort and provoke many more ‘sanctions’. Now that the Operation has become a NATO war against Russia, much as expected, it is all the more difficult to forecast the future.
Many missed the point. The Special Military Operation is not where it is at. The Ukraine is only the location, the battlefield, and the Kiev junta are only the actors on the stage, puppets. This is not primarily a battle of the military and their technologies, although they are very important, this is above all a battle of world views and ensuing realities. This battle is political and economic, spiritual and moral. Why else did the Johnson regime ban the Russian Orthodox Patriarch from visiting the UK?
Here we understand President Putin’s words of 7 July 2022 before Russian parliamentarians that Russia ‘has not even started anything in earnest in the Ukraine yet’, that the military operation in the Ukraine signifies ‘a cardinal break with the US world order, the beginning of the transition from the liberal globalism of US egocentricity to the reality of a multipolar world….the march of history is unstoppable and the attempts of the West to foist its New World Order on the world are doomed to failure’.
Whatever happens militarily in the Ukraine over the coming months, and much will happen, there are other stories, which are ultimately far more important. There was tiny Lithuania’s attempt to blockade the Russian Kaliningrad enclave, which has already failed. There was the toppling of the bankrupt UK’s Prime Minister, who wanted to wage a war without money, there was the assassination of the former Japanese Prime Minister by forces unknown, there was the occupation of the Presidential Palace in Colombo in Sri Lanka by a hungry crowd facing huge inflation and national bankruptcy.
Then there is the incipient collapse of the euro, already reaching parity with the dollar, as Europe grinds to a halt without Russian energy. There is the possible coming collapse of the dollar as the world dedollarises, under Russian impetus. There is mighty Germany’s attempt to survive without Russian oil and gas, which is already failing. There is much more that is being hidden from the populations of the Western world by worried elites – strikes, protests and the breakdown of social cohesion.
It is now July. In eight weeks’ time the weather cools. In sixteen weeks’ time winter begins. Wait until the panic begins and the palaces of leaders of the Western world also fall to hungry crowds facing huge inflation and national bankruptcy in European and North American Capitals. There may not be just a few deaths, as when the Washington Presidential Palace fell on 6 January 2021, but mass violence and fire. Wait until Chinese troops liberate Taiwan, as they will do at the right moment when the US is off guard, too busy with its own immense problems. Then shall begin the Judgement of the Nations.
Western Europe appears to go through a cycle of Judgement every 500 years or so. Round about the Year 500 (pedants mention the Year 476), Western Rome fell to the Barbarians, followed by great disruption and bloodshed. Round about the Year 1000 (pedants mention the Year 1054), there began Roman Catholicism, followed by its imperialist invasions, crusades and inquisitions. Round about 1500 (pedants mention 1517) there began Protestantism, followed by persecution of women (‘witches’) and ‘wars of religion’, both in Continental Europe and in Britain and Ireland under Cromwell. And now, round about the Year 2000 (will pedants mention the Year 2022?), there begins another Judgement.
For us, where we are, closely linked to the Ukraine, the war began already in early 2021. But that will be a story to tell another time.
The brainwashing here, in my case France, is so deep, that few, very few have a realistic notion of what is coming.
They still believe the crisis is manageable.
May God bless their innocence while it lasts…
Tu as raison : beaucoup d’inconscients en France.
In reply first see this: “The Russian authorities also knew that since NATO had already de facto declared war on Russia in 2014, the Operation to liberate the Ukraine through denazification and demilitarisation would further activate their war effort and provoke many more ‘sanctions’. Now that the Operation has become a NATO war against Russia, much as expected, it is all the more difficult to forecast the future.”
We all should know that NATO is really the USA –the USA tells NATO what to do & they stupidly obey. I see NO reason why Europe has any problems with Russia that Europe is Not responsible for. So apart from Pooland & some Baltics for histerical reasons the rest of Europe definately had/has no problems from Russia. NATO = USA = Problem. The USA must pay a big price for this adventure!
It all goes back to the movie “Gentleman’s Agreement” as the Khazarian camel sticking it’s nose inside the tent of the American government.
You are right. Our MSM brainwashes us so relentlessly every day that the vast majority of people have lost the ability to realize that we are walking on a very sharp razor’s edge. And it is no longer a matter of noticing, they don’t even intuit it, anesthetized by the Media soma, they believe that everything will be manageable indefinitely, no matter how bad things go. That has a price, and the more unconscious we are, the higher and more painful the price all we will have to pay. Looking the other way, or living in ignorance gives us happiness, foolish happiness, but when the situation becomes unsustainable, reality takes over and bites and you cannot escape from it.
One of the best analysis of the struggle in Ukraine. And shows why a NATO war with Russia won’t happen:
The United States Could Not Win and Will Not Fight a War Against Russia
https://www.imetatronink.com/2022/07/the-united-states-could-not-win-and.html
They could not win a military war. But what is ongoing is a hybrid war. As Putin says we have seen nothing yet.
But it certainly looks like Western society will become more and more chaotic little by little.
Batiushka good read and valid insights. I do not know what the Europeans are doing cutting their nose off to spite their face, so to speak. Their populations are already on the brink of rebelling in all places Germany. I am American and spent more years in foreign countries then in the USA. Five years in Europe, Augsburg, Germany. Seven in the Far East various countries and two years in the Middle East. Retired now but I do my best to follow international news and conflicts.
The West initially screwed up when Obama used the SWIFT system that by the way was supposed to remain neutral even in war thus breaking all the treaties in place to keep it neutral. Our leaders no longer think out the repercussions of their decisions on the populace at large, or their standing in the world. The de-dollarization started when the USA thought it could fight and win a financial war as opposed to sending in troops to fight with Iran. Our friends and enemies for that matter watched and started to move out of the dollar hegemony a little at a time. The EU and Britton are the exception.
What does bother me is the starvation and misery we along with Ukraine are causing by not clearing the harbor of mines so ships can ship grains and then calling Russia thieves when they allow for the use of their harbors. I am baffled with the media not calling out the governments involved and lying to their populations. I am in total disbelief on how naive people are.
Long post I could go on and on but my friend s would just call me nuts.
Western countries have built up some very bad karma.
The chaos the West has inflicted upon the rest of the world is coming home to wreak havoc – the inevitable cosmic justice.
Very good article with an abundance of insight into current events.
To clarify – on Jan 6th it was congress that was flooded with antifa and old ladies taking selfies. Only two people died that day, both unarmed civilians who were shot or trampled by capitol police. Nothing happened at the White House or presidential palace that day.
They called it an Insurrection, that just shows how far they are removed from reality……pure ‘for the big show’ propaganda.
Cheers M
Only one person died in the FBI-Dem arranged riot. Ashli Babbit was shot by a Congressional Policeman, a Lieutenant Michael Byrd who murdered her.
The overthrow in DC happened on Nov. 5, 2019, when the election was rigged.
The January 6th false flag was orchestrated to look like a right wing-alt right, crazed MAGA event.
A sitting President who add 12 million votes to his total in a second term election doesn’t lose unless the vote is rigged.
Lieutenant Michael Byrd later stated that he was confident that his actions on January 6 (i.e. his killing of an un-armed female) “saved many lives”.
The disconnect between the truth, and what is told to the American public is truly breathtaking.
I suspect that in Lieutenant Byrd’s case there is also an inability to admit what he did, especially to himself.
Nov 5, 2020 — presidential elections take place in years multiples of 4.
The deep state gayop was in January 2021.
And there’s a version of the story floating around that the Ashli Babbit shooting was completely fake, staged, and that the ‘victim’ was an actress who is still alive. I am sure I don’t know, but it seems doubtful. The people who orchestrated the event do not mind killing innocents to prove a point.
The shooting was on video tape and there were cops right next to her when she was shot, fell and died on the floor with them trying to help her.
Thanks for correcting the date on my comment. I posted without doublchecking.
The effort the Dems have put in to manufacture this riot into a crime by Trump is equal to the effort the establishment put into the JFK coverup.
They are a Tyranny and no one believes a word they say. The credibility of Congress is 20% of the credibility of Trump, and the more they push this, the worse the reaction will be.
The election was rigged against the voters. Trump was deprived of legal voting in several states. But the losers are the People.
The Dems created several ways to get a result they needed. In so doing, they left a trail of evidence of their crimes and manipulations. One half a billion dollars spent by Zuckerberg in a few precincts in a few states was beyond imagination.
Yeah. I saw the videos back when it happened — some alt-news sites showed it unedited. Looked pretty real to me. The (Removed language,MOD) who filmed it, Sullivan, is not in custody nor being asked any questions.
My question is, if 100% of the real living voters choose a particular candidate, does it even matter any more? They didn’t cheat hard enough in 2016, but they seem to have perfected the art form of rigging by now.
There was no sign of blood until after she was handed something wrapped in a white cloth. She was lying there with no blood in evidence then after she was handed the cloth she dabbed it around her neck and red colored liquid was suddenly everywhere. Blood would have spurted and spouted immediately if someone was shot in the neck – it would have been all over the walls, ceiling, glass and others there. There was no blood spray or spatter on the glass nor walls in evidence. Ashli had a huge backpack which was likely stuffed with cushioning for her stunt fall. She’s a very petite woman with military background, so the right kind of build and background to be a stunt woman. & John Sullivan who filmed it is a BLM agitator. In fact many of those there are connected with antifa or BLM. These people were saying on social media to wear MAGA hats and similar to look like they were Trump supporters but to wear the hat backwards or some other sign they weren’t genuine Trump supporters. And the “police” were the ones removing the gates and opening the doors.
I think it looked staged. There was no blood nor blood spatter on the wall nor glass where and when she was “shot”. The gun’s angle was not to where her neck was when it “fired”. She had no blood on her when she was lying down UNTIL someone handed her something balled up in a white cloth and after Ashli Babbit herself put it to her neck and fiddled with it, then you saw red liquid all over. Someone pointed out she is very short – they based it on her photos. They pointed out that the crowd made room (an area) for her to fall/jump down (she could have landed on her feet for a split second and then rolled back to the floor) and that she had a huge backpack which was probably filled with cushioning. She was (is) some sort of stunt woman. Then news was that she was cremated and her ashes spread on in the ocean. So conveniently there’s no grave nor body to be exhumed and given a genuine autopsy.
I can’t say lack of blood is odd because I don’t know. Cremation is not odd. I assume she died so because it can happen so. I notice that it seems artificial for such a person to be there and to be the one that gets shot. The guy who shot her looked bad on TV, demonstrating a lack of pity for her even though she had a career that put her close to “hero” status as this term is used (working to make us safer), and she had no criminal past. On the other hand, based on her govt. career, she had no business being in that spot; most people stayed out. She wanted to get in (!). Good for a D-movie, more fitting for such a movie than for reality where it is a strange thing. I still assume she was shot and died so, but there are even more oddities. There were also a collection of (obviously) fake people with fake religious speeches shown on TV that day or the day before, calling for “revolution.” An odd guy with horns on his head was inside the building. The devil, too, must have been in there.
Trump was being cancelled even in major bookstores in S’pore when he was in office. I could not find any books that were positively written about him. But prominently behind the cashier’s counter and the entrance to the shops were several titles on Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Obama, and/or Michelle Obama et al. Same w/our local public libraries. Only books that denigrate him were on display.
Zero credible evidence that the election was anymore “rigged” than any other US election. Yes DJT got more votes, but he also had a terrible 2020 and a motivated opposition. The issue isn’t that the election was “rigged” (it was not) but that the US is so extremely polarized and at mutual antipathy that yes, massive turnout for both Biden and DJT ensued. Also these whines about rigged elections ring hollow. Most Americans don’t really want true democracy anyway. They just want their tribe to win. That’s what they care about. They don’t care about living in a “democracy” especially those who spend most of their lives complaining about the degeneracy of their own country supposedly caused by the opposing side.
“Only one person died in the FBI-Dem arranged riot. Ashli Babbit was shot by a Congressional Policeman, a Lieutenant Michael Byrd who murdered her.”
I remember it well. Only one person died during the first days of constant TV coverage. It made me then say to someone that this fact was very clarifying in regard to the protest. I watched when the first reporter used the word “insurrection” in a question at the WH, and felt then that this would be the term used. How many times have we been in a similar situation? (Who didn’t know that “fake news” would become a big term as soon as he or she heard it? Obama himself introduced this term, later ‘stolen’ by Trump.) It’s enough now to look at a headline and ten seconds of TV and you know enough so that you don’t need to pay further attention to some big story. Months later, it turned out several persons died! I remember that in the first week after, the Congress questioned the person in charge of security about why it had been so easy to invade the Congress. He had his reasons, but he did not say a word about any great resistance or about the question being wrong. One year later, it turns out – so to speak – that there was a huge resistance. Rather than reprimand the security man on the floor of the Congress, if they had had the news that came in a year later, they might have awarded him a medal instead. Until the media says that their coverage during the first week after January 6 was bad, and why so, the only news to really believe in, and the standard by which to judge all subsequent news, is the news of the first week after January 6.
“A sitting President who adds 12 million votes to his total in a second term election doesn’t lose unless the vote is rigged.”
The only way would be if it was an “anti-Trump” vote. However, this “anti” feeling would have been reflected in the rest of the country, and Trump even won in Ohio, where he was expected to lose, and he prevailed in hard-to-win Florida too There is no other way other than through an “anti-Trump” vote, because Biden never before did so well; he was never before a record-breaker in an election. Biden stayed in his basement much of the time while Trump was campaigning hard. It was an election with procedures altered because of the Covid-plague reaction (30% of the votes arrived by mail in contested states). True that in 5 or 6 crucial states they stopped counting votes, and that we went to sleep with Trump winning the election and woke up with him losing it, and because of places where the vote count was interrupted. (In Bolivia, Evo Morales stopped a vote count for the same reason and the next day he had “won” by a few thousand votes; the whole country did not accept it. Those who supported him stayed very quiet and he fled to Mexico.) I read the briefs to the Supreme Court by Pennsylvania and Michigan in response to the Texas appeal to it. One of the Briefs admits it all, for all practical purposes. I don’t know if the S.C. even read it. It admits that ballots were accepted without signatures. It labels this issue a “minor” issue. It goes on in the same vein. There was no close “observation” like they typically do in other countries, where also if you don’t stamp your ballot with your inked thumb, your vote does not count. Elections were also held in countries like Russia and Bolivia during the Covid period. It’s a sure bet that they didn’t accept 30% of the votes arriving by mail and even without signatures by the admission of state authorities. Such “authorities” are jailed elsewhere, because their job is to guarantee the integrity of the process. They have to show guarantees against “fraud.”
It was a big mistake to look for instances of “cheating.” Republicans made this mistake. In a situation like that, you don’t need to prove any such thing that is hard to prove, too, when there’s no real ‘observation’ and no-signatures is legal – you know what I mean? Rather, you demand the proof of the needed guarantees against fraud, or that they show this work. If they forgot about the guarantees because of Covid hysteria, you say that this state’s votes cannot be accepted, and nobody can say you are wrong if they cannot provide those guarantees. “They didn’t even see the ball”, so to speak. Close to the end of one of the states’ brief – either Pennsylvania’s or Michigan’s – filed in the S.C. as their response to the complaint from Texas, it bluntly stated that it’s entirely up to themselves how they run things and that nobody else has any business interfering. It became almost funny. It was hard to believe that the S.C. would not accept the Texas case after reading this. It’s good that Trump is still here to remind them of how they failed and what it meant (if he runs, we’ll understand again how he became so successful).
“There may not be just a few deaths, as when the Washington Presidential Palace fell on 6 January 2021 . . . .”
Rector, I believe you mean The White House but are referring to The Capitol.
A bloody western uprising or a military police state are the only choices left.
When the EU goes under, the US will be next. Because with an unstable Europe, the US cannot function.

A somewhat arbitrary selection of dates and events. Why not highlight, say, the discovery of America, or the rise of the bourgeoisie and the beginning of the industrial revolution? What about the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution, World Wars I and II? Is history really divided into 500-year periods? Are the present upheavals or the present “historical period” characterized primarily by the transition from a uni-polar world to a multi-polar world? Or are we witnessing – beyond or “below” such a process – a deeper “transition” caused by the collapse of capitalism “tout court” or a collapse of hyper-industrialized, technological civilizations as a result of their insoluble problems and contradictions, including environmental degradation, overpopulation, economic rivalry (as opposed to brotherly cooperation), widespread violence and war, etc.? Throughout most of the 20th century, when the world was divided into opposing blocs (the “West” versus the USSR and China), would we have characterized the world as being uni-polar? I think depicting the course of history in terms of “judgements” (complete with Biblical overtones) occurring every 500 years or so is an oversimplification which, moreover, bypasses or ignores the development of political and philosophical thought over the past few centuries, including the contributions of Machiavelli, Hobbes, Rousseau, Marx, Gramsci…to mention only a few major thinkers. I don’t think it’s useful to try to understand today’s world solely by means of religious, medieval (or ancient) concepts and categories. Religion and spirituality can and – as far as I’m concerned – should have a place in our thoughts. But historical developments (including the nitty-gritty and details of economics and politics) cannot be reduced to some grand battle between good and evil.
If I were a pedant I would put the start of this cycle of destruction at about 1914 or about 100 years, more or less, off. A quickening, perhaps, heralding an even greater event (speaking from an Orthodox perspective)?
Well, I think even cmr. Lenin had to correct his religion ideas about all-europe-complet desaster, ehm, revolution. Seems to me things have been really going wrong. If the Kremlin administration expected this size and an ugly kind of war, these people there must be full Lieutnant Dub. Kind of civil war. Vatniks killing Hohols and vice versa, both parties proud of it. Collateral damage everywhere. And Mr. Martaynov, I think the old guy lives in the USA, not Donetsk nor Charkiv, always ready to be Stavka 2.0 top strategist. Congrats brothers Slavs. You went direct into anglosionist trap, chess players. And we, in euroland , as fat sleepwalkers with you. Now you say, you are leaving Europe. Merde, you were always part of it, you are, and you always will. Look at the map,and your culture, you are not Asians with that weird Chinese opera an so on. Always we had here in Europe liasions dangereuse, non? But together.
Elon Musk says booster dna shots can change people into anything, a butterfly or a zombie.
So if 500 mio European zombies are going to start marching against moscow I am all liasions and together to make photos and reportage.
He says this and he is considered a genius? Just another “useful idiot’ with good or / and powerful friends if you ask me.

What caused the war in Ukraine?
July 10, 2022.
“It is now July. In eight weeks’ time the weather cools. In sixteen weeks’ time winter begins. Wait until the panic begins and the palaces of leaders of the Western world also fall to hungry crowds facing huge inflation and national bankruptcy in European and North American Capitals.”
This could explain why Biden desperately needs to visit SA. If he can convince SA for more oil export then he might thwart the fast approaching apocalypse.
I enjoyed the article very much and there can be no doubt at this point Russian may increase the special operation into a war to take over Southern Ukraine and possibly Kiev later in the campaign. The trajectory of the war may change with the upcoming US election in November where at least one of the houses, senate or congress or possibly both will fall to the Republicans. The Republicans overall are more concerned about the Economy than the war in the Ukraine other than morons like Lindsay Graham. Russia basically may have the green light to finish the war Ukraine from the US privately.
Denazification will take at minimum, the occupation of Ukraine for one full election cycle, if not three.
Sri Lanka’s bankruptcy was an engineered one. The pro-western regime that ruled the country from 2015-2019 took USD 12.5 IMF loans and had sunk the economy to 2.3% when they left.
The new nationalist govt had only four months to rectify all the wrongs of the previous regime. The pandemic struck when Sri Lanka was at a precarious situation. The President tried to avoid lockdowns but the medical mafia and the 5th columnists were able to force a lockdown. SL lost its revenue from the tourist industry as a result. In the meantime, the govt foolishly cut the taxes of big businesses and lost a large revenue. They also printed money and gave handouts (Sri Lankan people are used to govt subsidiaries).
Then there was a new economic minister who was a dual citizen of the US. This guy was a sibling of the president, but he acted totally against the interests of the country. He promoted illegal money transferring methods. Sri Lankan workers abroad got used to these methods and as a result, the country lost the last lifeline – revenue from foreign labour.
Afterwards, SL had to pay the USD 12.5 billion loans and while paying for energy and drugs imports depending on its forex reserves. It quickly dried up. That’s how Sri Lanka’s financial crisis sprang up.
The globalists were able to install the PM of the previous regime as a result, and right now, he’s one of the candidates considered for the post of the President.
— A Sri Lankan citizen
About sri Lanka
The strategy is the neocons loot the country and then have their stooges take over. Modi’ s government is now ready to take sri lanka and make sure it aligns so t neocon security interests
You’re correct. The current PM is the same person who did irreversible damage to Sri Lanka’s economy during 2015-2019. Afterwards, the US put an economic hitman in the nationalist govt and sabotaged the economy when it was clear that the president intended to finish the lockdown and recover from the pandemic.
India has been trying to take over Sri Lanka’s strategic assets for a long time. They’re very close this time. India has always been imperialist and tried to be the regional hegemon. Modi is a racist who doesn’t even treat his own citizens with dignity.
It makes me puke when some commentators on this blog talk about India as part of the Multipolar world order. You can’t crate a truly multipolar world with imperialist bullies.
Unfortunately, Russia is not simply countering Ukraine in this conflict but the entirety of the Western world which, also sadly, never plays fair or acts honorably. Even if Russia is able to de-fang Ukraine over that entire country and for the foreseeable future, the Americans and their vile posse of Eurotrash gangsters will continue to attack Russia in a multitude of ways. They will continue to lie, cheat, steal AND sabotage Russian endeavors in every way possible. And, if they start to definitively lose the hybrid war they so avidly cultivate, the maniacs will resort to nuclear weapons, especially if they fail to match Russian capabilities in the development of hypersonic missiles.
If only Putin did have the power to decide the winners of American elections, as the American maniacs accuse him of doing, because changing the American regime and curing its psychopathic Russophobia is probably the only thing that is going to end this war short of a nuclear conflagration that extinguishes all civilisation and probably the human species to boot.
Another thing to consider is that this world war has barely started. It won’t unfold to a point where only a handful of distinctly possible futures are revealed, and that will not be until China is dragged into the conflict by ever metastasizing American hubris. Frankly, Russia may not be able to defeat Washington alone, which is not to say that America would “win” either. But with the full array of Russian and Chinese power aligned against American perfidy around the Eurasian landmass, I think that Washington has no chance….which will make them even more dangerous if and when they decide to destroy the world rather than share it.
Russia and China, even together cannot project power everywhere, certainly not into the Western hemisphere, Africa or Western Europe to the point where an occupation could be accomplished, and without an occupation (which the Americans cannot accomplish either) there will be no definitive “winner” of this war, only a lot of insincere self-congratulations over the damage caused to one’s opponent. The net result, if we are lucky enough to dodge total auto-annihilation of the planet, will be a world, already short on critical resources for its massive populations and already experiencing massive environmental damage, that merely speeded up the process of its transformation into a place incapable of long sustaining life. All the ecological scenarios of planetary collapse are merely hastened by yet more human folly–mostly due to American arrogance and greed, if that is any consolation.
I enjoyed this piece very much. It seems an arrogant West needs to be taught a lesson about its “Drang nach Osten” every so often. Of course this Western attitude is built upon the presumed superiority of the Western European culture compared to the Slavic one. Every so often I hear things like, “Before the bolsheviks the Russia was ruled by Germans and after by Jews”. Slavs are presented like mere cattle that happen to occupy valuable land. Or Snowniggers to use Andrei’s term.
After the defeat of Nazi Germany, who would’ve guessed that the Coudenhove-Kalergi plan for a European union ruled by the U.S. would also give birth to a “Drang Nach Osten” feeling as well? It seems a New World Order based on U.S. hegemony demands this. A bit more dangerous this time around though, no?
Interestingly there is a very real connection between Coudenhove-Kalergi and Ichiro Hatoyama the founder of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party. The party of Abe Shinzo incidentally. I wonder if someone who reads here knows more about this?
I think that the hegemon gets maybe less respect than they should. Obviously, they have studied history and based on the limited (non-existent) successes that western powers have had against Russia – they have come up with the “conclusion” that it takes a Slav to defeat a Slav.
Is that a brilliant concept or what? Luckily, it is not. The rest of the Slavs combined, can hardly be equivalent to even 10% of Russia’s capabilities in any field, especially the military one. Then there is the issue of untermenschism among the Slavs – vis a vis other Slavs.
Even though the Ukros fancy themselves as Nazis – they are a prime example of untermensch when compared to the Russians. It just makes me sick when Slavs dare to lay a hand on the Russians. Without them, the rest of the Slavs wouldn’t even exist. Southern Slavs would still be under the Turkish boot, and the “western” Slavs would be a dog meat for the Germans – Catholicism or not.
And on Russian, it’s “deep operation”.
Well, no. Fast operations are mostly indirect, and as such are the opposite of massive violence. Boom, there are troops, new flag over the building, “you guys are surrounded, may well surrender at this point”. The end. A prolonged escalating slog can be far more bloody, and harder on civilians.
However, it’s mostly beside the point, indeed.
How exactly can a fast-moving operation interfere with purging of hostile puppets from the power structures in the defeated territory? The purge must happen immediately after the victory either way.
Which illustrates how the opposite of hard and fast invasion tend to look like.
So, both plain wrong and non sequitur.
Yes, but that’s the shape of game board, not the game position.
So, there’s NATO, or whichever face of the monstrosity currently inhabiting USA (not so long ago England) you prefer… and it’s actively hostile to anything they don’t control, and any conflict of an outside party with their non-member puppet is going to turn into a proxy war backed by all sorts of less direct “cold war” activities. Sure.
But it was like this for decades. USSR used to act exactly the same way, for that matter. So, not just a habit, but inherent in the system. Everyone knew this and did not expect anything else, also for decades. Which is why this cannot answer the obvious questions related to any developing situation that is not decades-long.
This part touches the real reason, if not covers it: the conditions right now include “the adversary is very dysfunctional”.
Thus, among the main criteria of a good strategy are: do not fail as hard and fast as the enemies and do not create new openings for them.
And this does explain a lot of the observed strategy.
All ukrop PR to cover up massive losses. Notice that since they lost Lugansk they have been acting unhinged, but have gained nothing.
The special operation is actually an evolutionary process, going where it needs to go.
The opposition is so desperate that they are now one big traveling gurrilla warfare operation. The fighters scoot over to a prepared area and launch their offensive as other target areas are prepared.
Once prepared, they scoot over to the new area and launch the offensive.
Outsiders come into the country to set up the designated areas and then the remaining fighters who know how to use the equipment carry out their mission.
Its a gambling Russian roulete where one big strike to the traveling fighters makes the suppliers obsolete, but until the band of roaming nazi’s is neutrilized, the evolutionary process continues on.
Bojo wanted to war without money and thus was toppled for it? What do you mean? This sounds interesting.
I am a student of History and I am ashamed to say that even though I know a lot of things about it, I did not notice this pattern of every 500 years. I also want to mention that around 550 AD we had a major climate change event that led to starvation in Central Asia and thus much movement of the Turkic tribes including the Huns into Europe .
i’m sure everyone recalls the hype over “the year 2012”. again, whatever non-precise schedule it’s on, history is cyclical. whether it’s kali yuga, spengler and other “crisis philosophers”, “timewave zero” or the i ching hexagrams it came from the (subjective but significant) evidence is there.
my only “pedantic” note would be that it’s less of a “spiritual and moral battle” than a battle between spirit and morality against matter and the nihilistic “might makes right” ragnar redbeard outlook of modernity (sorry, peterson fans; postmodern “philosophy” is a symptom, not a disease). a struggle between plato and ayn rand. i don’t think it takes a huge leap of faith to bet on who will win that one. the closest to transcendence the leaders of the west have ever come is getting dizzy from their 5 scotch+cokes lunch.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Might_Is_Right

I just wanted to say thank you, for your intelligent contributions to this forum. I enjoy your writeups immensity.
What Do Ukrainians Want?
I have to use my conjecture and observation, (since they didn’t tell me.)
Who they are now, identifies with some certain people and with some certain territory, and with some history, that they may be glorifying beyond justification.
So they want a country based on all of these ideas. Much of that history if you go back far enough, was under occupation of “foreigners”. So the idea is that the country shouldn’t give many rights to other people. How they identify themselves must be on some concept of race. Otherwise how would they classify their membership?
So we can say they want racial purity on the territory after the 2nd WW, including Khrushchev’s gift of the Crimea, and after the breakup of the USSR. But they also wanted this from before. This was a driving force Before Hitler’s Germany, with Symon Petliura, 1879-1926 and The Cossacks way before that. This earlier form is why I wish there was another name besides NAZI. Although they use Nazi ethnic cleansing methods, they pre-date the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. They are Fascist Ethnic Cleansing Ukrainian Nationalists, or “FECUN’s”.
Most nations prize racial diversity, but of course that is because they already have a lot of diversity, and they are trying to make it work. In good times and without outside interference, it does work. It seems almost inevitable in today’s open globalist world.
Maybe racial purity will work better, (Norwegians for instance) All nations need consensus, who am I to say what’s right or wrong? I think it has been rarely proven though, because those that have tried it failed before finishing. In other words, they used the drive for racial purity to mask other domestic problems, and they never turned to resolve those other problems. Even one of the most racially pure countries, Israel, masks domestic problems with endless enemy lists. It may be true that there are enemies.
Racial purity might be attainable, but not through killing and stealing other peoples land. Buy the land maybe, if they are willing to sell it. So what does Ukraine want, and is it in their collective desires?
*They want everyone with a Russian or Slavic heritage to get out, and they will kill enough of them until the rest flee.
*It must mean that they want to take the land and industry built by those people of Russian heritage.
*(The Russian elements have lived there from WWII in the Soviet times, and from before.)
*They want membership in the EU so that they can get jobs in a more prosperous society.
*Besides jobs, their large gangster element wish to prey heavily on EU countries with more free access.
*They want NATO to protect their sustainability, and they seek a payoff for making trouble for Russia.
*They want to rent the Sevastopol Naval Base to NATO.
They have been training their young boys and teenagers in the philosophy of hate for decades to get ready for this. (It is very sad to see these kind of photos with eight year old’s.) For us, Cowboys and Indians may have been just as bad, but there were no Indians with atomic bombs.
If they can stop Russia; would they try to go for more territory anywhere? Who knows about their inner dreams? Every advance in this stage depends on selling themselves as vassals to the billionaires that hate Russia. My conjecture is that Zelensky has no say at all. He is the loudspeaker or the actor that plays the role provided to him. He did seem to shift gears quickly when before election he promised peace with Russia and equitable treatment for minorities. If he has inner desires they are a balancing act between his own survival and being overrun by the Poles or by NATO, and of course by Russia.
Zelensky’s mentors have no more regard for their own citizens or their own military than for the enemy soldiers. Let them all die and define it as glory. It is inconceivable in the west that a battalion would be butchered by 60 or 80%, and just moved to another part on the front line to keep up the battle, (for their own lives). When westerners realize this, they can’t help but to consider this regime as the arch-evil, devil incarnate. Unfortunately in war, many countries only understand death. America has only understood body bags. Journalists have actually uncovered American hidden mass graves of soldiers labeled MIA. That journalist was assassinated before the disclosure. (no link, sorry) Here I am trying not to look at it from that assumption.
I’ll just add this:
What is HIMARS? Have you taken a look at it.
It is a lightweight 6-wheel truck with six tubes on it. It is nimble, but it is designed for air superiority, (like all NATO equipment), with no defense nor armor. I see no targeting apparatus either. The targeting must come from the supposed air superiority.
The advanced technology must all be in the missiles. They can be guided and hit targets at longer ranges. So Russian supplies must now be moved farther back. They also kill civilians distant from the front line. That is part of war. It is up to you to decide what killing is acceptable. That decision must be used as a public justification to do what YOU WANT TO DO ANYWAY. Not what you are forced to do as a reaction to dead citizens.
How will some dozens of light weight trucks with tubes, and some pretty good missiles affect this war? It will be grave if you are one of the civilians that is killed. It won’t matter a bit if you are one of the many 1000’s of defending soldiers that are chopped up daily.
I think that they are intercepting some Himar’s missiles. They need more practice, because what about in a nuclear war? Longer range means the missiles are up in that air for a longer time. They need to figure out how to intercept most of them.
My belief is the American commanders of NATO are running the HIMARS. The soldiers drive them around where they are told, but the firing apparatus is likely controlled directly by satellite. America feeds in the target and America pulls the trigger. Then the Ukrainians drive to the next spot. It is America’s war against Russia using someone else’s hands. All the targets are America’s choice.
That’s my hypothesis. What do you think?
Although most people believe the “Collapse of the West” only began in the last few years, or perhaps with the financial crisis of 2008, it can be very strongly argued that the formal “Collapse of the West” began just before WW1.
WW2 was of course just a continuation of unfinished business from WW1, and the subsequent “Cold War” was a continuation of unfinished business from both WW1 and WW2, but with the power and economic base shifting from London, Berlin, and Paris to Washington – with Washington counter ballanced by the Soviet Union in a similar way the French counterballanced and competed with the British Empire.
Today, over 100 years since the Collapse of the West began, all attempts to recreate the Golden Age of the Western Imperial (aka “Colonial”) powers under the flag of the US have reached thier limits, short of another (and likely final) global “total war”.
The Collective Wests time of almost undisputed global “leadership” has come to an end. Even the so called “sheeple” are beginning to see the end drawing near, but this collapse began over 100 years ago.
But the real question now is not when the collapse began, not when it came to a head, but how will it end, and when?
How long have we (and by “we” I mean anyone living in the “Collective West” aka “The International Community”) got left before we reach the end?
What will the end of the west look like?
Are we going to fizzle out or go out with a bang (in the megatonne range) and take everyone and everything down with us (the UK and US exceptional nations model)?
The completion of this likely final decline of the west, of what was once, pre WW1 especially, a cradle of great Civilisation will likely involve suffering on a level few people living in the west today can even imagine much less endure.
The infamously pessimistic “2025 Deagel Projection” of western population numbers and GDP now looks very optimistic.
Just my quick thoughts, nothing more.
I don’t know when it began, but when I was a police officer, way back in the 70’s and 80’s, we cops were already talking among ourselves about social disintegration. It didn’t seem to be visible at all to the civilian world then.

I am a pedant… you forgot that around 1700 (1717) Freemasonry or “Universal Fraternal Brotherhood” was founded whose motto is “Order in chaos” also this one: Liberty, Equality and Fraternity, don’t you find it familiar?
The same society that wrote the American Constitution, the Federal Reserve, the Great World Bank and finally “World Council of Religions for Peace” ONU, is currently and very much in progress.
“This battle is political and economic, spiritual and moral.”
Keep in mind, Half of the New World, the “northern part”, and half of “Europa”-Russia is “politically, economically, spiritually and morally” in bankruptcy or entering into it. The other side has no views whatsoever except the “values” of financial Nihilism and the Law of the Jungle.
Under such conditions, you see who is most likely to prevail.
Here in Northern Ireland, we are caught between two collapsing behemoths, with no vision nor hope for a future.
Our best bet would be to align with BRICS, but it is extremely unlikely.
The present global order is already doomed.
