Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after V.I. Yu.A. Gagarin manufactured and handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense another batch of four fifth-generation Su-57 production aircraft as part of the current year’s supply program. The fighters were delivered in accordance with a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense, the UAC press service said.
On December 28, 2022, four Su-57s were spotted by spotters at Tolmachevo airport and over Novosibirsk. The planes made an intermediate landing while transferring to their bases in the European part of Russia from Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
“Our aircraft plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur has completed the current year’s program for the production of fifth-generation Su-57 aviation systems and Su-35S multirole fighters for the Russian Aerospace Forces. We will continue to fulfill our obligations. The aircraft scheduled for delivery next year are already in production,” said Yury Slyusar, Director General of PJSC UAC.
The Su-57 fighter is super-maneuverable, stealthy, can destroy air and ground targets, detect the enemy at long distances, and operate in network-centric warfare. Composite materials are widely used in its airframe, the aircraft is equipped with modern on-board equipment.
Now the enterprise is implementing a large-scale modernization project, which will significantly increase the production of these combat vehicles. In particular, production capacities are being expanded, new high-tech equipment is being put into operation, and additional production personnel are being recruited. A modern production line for stackless assembly has been created.
The Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies noted that the four transferred Su-57s for the first time from production aircraft of this type have external suspension with ejection devices for weapons.
Thus, in 2022, the Russian Defense Ministry received six Su-57 aircraft: two in May and four now. In total, to date, ten serial fifth-generation fighters have apparently been transferred to the Russian Aerospace Forces. Until the end of 2024, KnAAZ should produce 22 more such aircraft. In total, by 2028, 76 Su-57 fighters should be produced, which will equip three air regiments.

I like this aircraft, I worked with many F model USAF aircraft. With that said this aircraft is very impressive.
