I had been wanting to interview Paul Craig Roberts for a long time already. For many years I have been following his writings and interviews and every time I read what he had to say I was hoping that one day I would have the privilege do interview him about the nature of the US deep state and the Empire. Recently, I emailed him and asked for such an interview, and he very kindly agreed. I am very grateful to him for this opportunity.
The Saker
——-
The Saker: It has become rather obvious to many, if not most, people that the USA is not a democracy or a republic, but rather a plutocracy run by a small elite which some call “the 1%”. Others speak of the “deep state”. So my first question to you is the following. Could you please take the time to assess the influence and power of each of the following entities one by one. In particular, can you specify for each of the following whether it has a decision-making “top” position, or a decision-implementing “middle” position in the real structure of power (listed in no specific order)
- Federal Reserve
- Big Banking
- Bilderberg
- Council on Foreign Relations
- Skull & Bones
- CIA
- Goldman Sachs and top banks
- “Top 100 families” (Rothschild, Rockefeller, Dutch Royal Family, British Royal Family, etc.)
- Israel Lobby
- Freemasons and their lodges
- Big Business: Big Oil, Military Industrial Complex, etc.
- Other people or organizations not listed above?
Who, which group, what entity would you consider is really at the apex of power in the current US polity?
Paul Craig Roberts: The US is ruled by private interest groups and by the neoconservative ideology that History has chosen the US as the “exceptional and indispensable” country with the right and responsibility to impose its will on the world.
In my opinion the most powerful of the private interest groups are:
The Military/security Complex
The 4 or 5 mega-sized “banks too big to fail” and Wall Street
The Israel Lobby
Agribusiness
The Extractive industries (oil, mining, timber).
The interests of these interest groups coincide with those of the neoconservatives. The neoconservative ideology supports American financial and military-political imperialism or hegemony.
There is no independent American print or TV media. In the last years of the Clinton regime, 90% of the print and TV media was concentrated in 6 mega-companies. During the Bush regime, National Public Radio lost its independence. So the media functions as a Ministry of Propaganda.
Both political parties, Republicans and Democrats, are dependent on the same private interest groups for campaign funds, so both parties dance to the same masters. Jobs offshoring destroyed the manufacturing and industrial unions and deprived the Democrats of Labor Union political contributions. In those days, Democrats represented the working people and Republicans represented business.
The Federal Reserve is there for the banks, mainly the large ones. The Federal Reserve was created as lender of last resort to prevent banks from failing because of runs on the bank or withdrawal of deposits. The New York Fed, which conducts the financial interventions, has a board that consists of the executives of the big banks. The last three Federal Reserve chairmen have been Jews, and the current vice chairman is the former head of the Israeli central bank. Jews are prominent in the financial sector, for example, Goldman Sachs. In recent years, the US Treasury Secretaries and heads of the financial regulatory agencies have mainly been the bank executives responsible for the fraud and excessive debt leverage that set off the last financial crisis.
In the 21st century, the Federal Reserve and Treasury have served only the interests of the large banks. This has been at the expense of the economy and the population. For example, retired people have had no interest income for eight years in order that the financial institutions can borrow at zero costs and make money.
No matter how rich some families are, they cannot compete with powerful interest groups such as the military/security complex or Wall Street and the banks. Long established wealth can look after its interests, and some, such as the Rockefellers, have activist foundations that most likely work hand in hand with the National Endowment for Democracy to fund and encourage various pro-American non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in countries that the US wants to influence or overthrow, such as occurred in Ukraine. The NGOs are essentially US Fifth Columns and operate under such names as “human rights,” “democracy,” etc. A Chinese professor told me that the Rockefeller Foundation had created an American University in China and is used to organize various anti-regime Chinese. At one time, and perhaps still, there were hundreds of US and German financed NGOs in Russia, possibly as many as 1,000.
I don’t know if the Bilderbergs do the same. Possibly they are just very rich people and have their proteges in governments who try to protect their interests. I have never seen any signs of Bilderbergs or Masons or Rothchilds affecting congressional or executive branch decisions.
On the other hand, the Council for Foreign Relations is influential. The council consists of former government policy officials and academics involved in foreign policy and international relations. The council’s publication, Foreign Affairs, is the premier foreign policy forum. Some journalists are also members. When I was proposed for membership in the 1980s, I was blackballed.
Skull & Bones is a Yale University secret fraternity. A number of universities have such secret fraternities. For example, the University of Virginia has one, and the University of Georgia. These fraternities do not have secret governmental plots or ruling powers. Their influence would be limited to the personal influence of the members, who tend to be sons of elite families. In my opinion, these fraternities exist to convey elite status to members. They have no operational functions.
The Saker: What about individuals? Who are, in your opinion, the most powerful people in the USA today? Who takes the final, top level, strategic decision?
Paul Craig Roberts: There really are no people powerful in themselves. Powerful people are ones that powerful interest groups are behind. Ever since Secretary of Defense William Perry privatized so much of the military in 1991, the military/security complex has been extremely powerful, and its power is further amplified by its ability to finance political campaigns and by the fact that it is a source of employment in many states. Essentially Pentagon expenditures are controlled by defense contractors.
The Saker: I have always believed that in international terms, organizations such as NATO, the EU or all the others are only a front, and that the real alliance which controls the planet are the ECHELON countries: US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand aka “AUSCANNZUKUS” (they are also referred to as the “Anglosphere” or the “Five Eyes”) with the US and the UK are the senior partners while Canada, Australia and New Zealand are the junior partners here. Is this model correct?
Paul Craig Roberts: NATO was a US creation allegedly to protect Europe from a Soviet invasion. Its purpose expired in 1991. Today NATO provides cover for US aggression and provides mercenary forces for the American Empire. Britain, Canada, Australia, are simply US vassal states just as are Germany, France, Italy, Japan and the rest. There are no partners; just vassals. It is Washington’s empire, no one else’s.
The US favors the EU, because it is easier to control than the individual countries.
The Saker: It is often said that Israel controls the USA. Chomsky, and others, say that it is the USA which controls Israel. How would you characterize the relationship between Israel and the USA – does the dog wag the tail or does the tail wag the dog? Would you say that the Israel Lobby is in total control of the USA or are there still other forces capable of saying “no” to the Israel Lobby and impose their own agenda?
Paul Craig Roberts: I have never seen any evidence that the US controls Israel. All the evidence is that Israel controls the US, but only its MidEast policy. In recent years, Israel or the Israel Lobby, has been able to control or block academic appointments in the US and tenure for professors considered to be critics of Israel. Israel has successfully reached into both Catholic and State universities to block tenure and appointments. Israel can also block some presidential appointments and has vast influence over the print and TV media. The Israel Lobby also has plenty of money for political campaign funds and never fails to unseat US Representatives and Senators considered critical of Israel. The Israel lobby was able to reach into the black congressional district of Cynthia McKinney, a black woman, and defeat her reelection. As Admiral Tom Moorer, Chief of Naval Operations and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said: “No American President can stand up to Israel.” Adm. Moorer could not even get an official investigation of Israel’s deadly attack on the USS Liberty in 1967.
Anyone who criticizes Israeli policies even in a helpful way is labeled an “anti-Semite.”
In American politics, media, and universities, this is a death-dealing blow. You might as well get hit with a hellfire missile.
The Saker: Which of the 12 entities of power which I listed above have, in your opinion, played a key role in the planning and execution of the 9/11 “false flag” operation? After all, it is hard to imagine that this was planned and prepared between the inauguration of GW Bush and September 11th – it must have been prepared during the years of the Clinton Administration. Is it not true the the Oklahoma City bombing was a rehearsal for 9/11?
Paul Craig Roberts: In my opinion 9/11 was the product of the neoconservatives, many of whom are Jewish allied with Israel, Dick Cheney, and Israel. Its purpose was to provide “the new Pearl Harbor” that the neoconservatives said was necessary to launch their wars of conquest in the Middle East. I don’t know how far back it was planned, but Silverstein was obviously part of it and he had not had the WTC for very long before 9/11.
As for the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, US Air Force General Partin, the Air Force’s munitions expert, prepared an expert report proving beyond all doubt that the building blew up from the inside out and that the truck bomb was cover. Congress and the media ignored his report. The patsy, McVeigh, was already set up, and that was the only story allowed.
The Saker: Do you think that the people who run the USA today realize that they are on a collision course with Russia which could lead to thermonuclear war? If yes, why would they take such a risk? Do they really believe that at the last moment Russian will “blink” and back down, or do they actually believe that they can win a nuclear war? Are they not afraid that in a nuclear conflagration with Russia they will lose everything they have, including their power and even their lives?
Paul Craig Roberts: I am as puzzled as much as you. I think Washington is lost in hubris and arrogance and
is more or less insane. Also, there is belief that the US can win a nuclear war with Russia. There was an article in Foreign Affairs around 2005 or 2006 in which this conclusion was reached. The belief in the winnability of nuclear war has been boosted by faith in ABM defenses. The argument is that the US can hit Russia so hard in a preemptive first strike that Russia would not retaliate in fear of a second blow.
The Saker: How do you assess the current health of the Empire? For many years we have seen clear signs of decline, but there is still not visible collapse. Do you believe that such a collapse is inevitable and, if not, how could it be prevented? Will we see the day when the US Dollar suddenly become worthless or will another mechanism precipitate the collapse of this Empire?
Paul Craig Roberts: The US economy is hollowed out. There has been no real median family income growth for decades. Alan Greenspan as Fed Chairman used an expansion of consumer credit to take the place of the missing growth in consumer income, but the population is now too indebted to take on more. So there is nothing to drive the economy. So many manufacturing and tradable professional service jobs such as software engineering have been moved offshore that the middle class has shrunk. University graduates cannot get jobs that support an independent existence. So they can’t form households, buy houses, appliances and home furnishings. The government produces low inflation measures by not measuring inflation and low unemployment rates by not measuring unemployment. The financial markets are rigged, and gold is driven down despite rising demand by selling uncovered shorts in the futures market. It is a house of cards that has stood longer than I thought possible. Apparently, the house of cards can stand until the rest of the world ceases to hold the US dollar as reserves.
Possibly the empire has put too much stress on Europe by involving Europe in a conflict with Russia. If Germany, for example, were to pull out of NATO, the empire would collapse, or if Russia can find the wits to finance Greece, Italy, and Spain in exchange for them leaving the Euro and EU, the empire would suffer a fatal blow.
Alternatively, Russia might tell Europe that Russia has no alternative but to target European capitals with nuclear weapons now that Europe has joined the US in conducting war against Russia.
The Saker: Russia and China have done something unique in history and they have gone beyond the traditional model of forming an alliance: they have agreed to become interdependent – one could say that they have agreed to a symbiotic relationship. Do you believe that those in charge of the Empire have understood the tectonic change which has just happen or are they simply going into deep denial because reality scares them too much?
Paul Craig Roberts: Stephen Cohen says that there is simply no foreign policy discussion. There is no debate. I think the empire thinks that it can destabilize Russia and China and that is one reason Washington has color revolutions working in Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. As Washington is determined to prevent the rise of other powers and is lost in hubris and arrogance, Washington probably believes that it will succeed. After all, History chose Washington.
The Saker: In your opinion, do presidential elections still matter and, if yes, what is your best hope for 2016? I am personally very afraid of Hillary Clinton whom I see as an exceptionally dangerous and outright evil person, but with the current Neocon influence inside the Republican, can we really hope for a non-Neocon candidate to win the GOP nomination?
Paul Craig Roberts: The only way a presidential election could matter would be if the elected president had behind him a strong movement. Without a movement, the president has no independent power and no one to appoint who will do his bidding. Presidents are captives. Reagan had something of a movement, just enough that we were able to cure stagflation despite Wall Street’s opposition and we were able to end the cold war despite the opposition of the CIA and the military/security complex. Plus Reagan was very old and came from a long time ago. He assumed the office of the president was powerful and acted that way.
The Saker: What about the armed forces? Can you imagine a Chairman of the JCS saying “no, Mr President, that is crazy, we will not do this” or do you expect the generals to obey any order, including one starting a nuclear war against Russia? Do you have any hope that the US military could step in and stop the “crazies” currently in power in the White House and Congress?
Paul Craig Roberts: The US military is a creature of the armaments industries. The whole purpose of making general is to be qualified to be a consultant to the “defense” industry, or to become an executive or on the board of a “defense” contractor. The military serves as the source of retirement careers when the generals make the big money. The US military is totally corrupt. Read Andrew Cockburn’s book, Kill Chain.
The Saker: If the USA is really deliberately going down the path towards war with Russia – what should Russia do? Should Russia back down and accept to be subjugated as a preferable option to a thermonuclear war, or should Russia resist and thereby accept the possibility of a thermonuclear war? Do you believe that a very deliberate and strong show of strength on the part of Russia could deter a US attack?
Paul Craig Roberts: I have often wondered about this. I can’t say that I know. I think Putin is humane enough to surrender rather than to be part of the destruction of the world, but Putin has to answer to others inside Russia and I doubt the nationalists would stand for surrender.
In my opinion, I think Putin should focus on Europe and make Europe aware that Russia expects an American attack and will have no choice except to wipe out Europe in response. Putin should encourage Europe to break off from NATO in order to prevent World War 3.
Putin should also make sure China understands that China represents the same perceived threat to the US as Russia and that the two countries need to stand together. Perhaps if Russia and China were to maintain their forces on a nuclear alert, not the top one, but an elevated one that conveyed recognition of the American threat and conveyed this threat to the world, the US could be isolated.
Perhaps if the Indian press, the Japanese Press, the French and German press, the UK press, the Chinese and Russian press began reporting that Russia and China wonder if they will receive a pre-emptive nuclear attack from Washington the result would be to prevent the attack.
As far as I can tell from my many media interviews with the Russian media, there is no Russian awareness of the Wolfowitz Doctrine. Russians think that there is some kind of misunderstanding about Russian intentions. The Russian media does not understand that Russia is unacceptable, because Russia is not a US vassal. Russians believe all the Western bullshit about “freedom and democracy” and believe that they are short on both but making progress. In other words, Russians have no idea that they are targeted for destruction.
The Saker: What are, in your opinion, the roots of the hatred of so many members of the US elites for Russia? Is that just a leftover from the Cold War, or is there another reason for the almost universal russophobia amongst US elites? Even during the Cold War, it was unclear whether the US was anti-Communist or anti-Russian? Is there something in the Russian culture, nation or civilization which triggers that hostility and, if yes, what is it?
Paul Craig Roberts: The hostility toward Russia goes back to the Wolfowttz Doctrine:
“Our first objective is to prevent the re-emergence of a new rival, either on the territory of the former Soviet Union or elsewhere, that poses a threat on the order of that posed formerly by the Soviet Union. This is a dominant consideration underlying the new regional defense strategy and requires that we endeavor to prevent any hostile power from dominating a region whose resources would, under consolidated control, be sufficient to generate global power.”
While the US was focused on its MidEast wars, Putin restored Russia and blocked Washington’s planned invasion of Syria and bombing of Iran. The “first objective” of the neocon doctrine was breached. Russia had to be brought into line. That is the origin of Washington’s attack on Russia. The dependent and captive US and European media simply repeats “the Russian Threat” to the public, which is insouciant and otherwise uninformed.
The offense of Russian culture is also there–Christian morals, respect for law and humanity, diplomacy in place of coercion, traditional social mores–but these are in the background. Russia is hated because Russia (and China) is a check on Washington’s unilateral uni-power. This check is what will lead to war.
If the Russians and Chinese do not expect a pre-emptive nuclear attack from Washington, they will be destroyed.
A bit off topic… Yesterday I posted here about the genesis of my blogger nickname Romashka2 and today Varjag-2007 posted this necrology.
http://varjag-2007.livejournal.com/8042303.html
It’s not true that our friends die, they just cease being here with us
Almost a year ago in Slavyansk as a result of the Ukrainian troops raid was killed the commander of the self-defense troops of Slavyansk Sergey Jurikov, known by his nickname Romashka.
Jurikov Sergey Nikolayevich was a member of the People Temple of Ukraine, born in 1980 in Sevastopol, lived in Kiev, sportsmen- paratrooper, he had a record of over 1500 jumps, a professional photographer. Before the NATO military revolt in Kiev he served as a ponomar , a gate-keeper – In the Orthodox Church Kiev Pechersk Lavra.
He will remain always in our memory and here on this poster photographed next to a WWII veteran during the “Crimean Spring. ” He was one of the “polite people” in Crimea .
(On a poster it says: Fascism Stops Here)
This is what I had posted yesterday, without any knowledge about who was the person behind the nickname I have used for a year.
It’s actually Romashka meaning daisy. In spring 2014, when the NATO war on Ukraine has just started, I listened to the online radio scanners in Donbass. There wasn’t any organized self-defense forces back then. People were standing against Ukro-fascist tanks with their bare hands, trying to keep peace in the region, locals were sharing borsch, bread and cigarettes with the Ukro soldiers. Donbass asked the US junta in Kiev for the autonomy and the use of the Russian language. People’s demands were very reasonable and everyone (but not the US State Department) still hoped that this Mexican standoff would end up peacefully.
Suddenly, one night in late March someone reported seeing paratroopers dropped on Slavyansk. Locals, armed mostly with sticks, organized the search party walking streets and checking roofs and vacant buildings. Someone reminded to listen to the yard dogs barking excessively. Several sniper paratroopers, most likely the NATO special forces, were discovered and liquidated, but some remained at large and started shooting the locals. Next came the information, that the self-defender sniper nicknamed Romashka was killed in the duel with the paratrooper-sniper, who was also killed afterwards. Romashka was one of the very first heroes among the self-defenders in this NATO war on the Russian Mir (world and/or peace) . I use his nickname to keep memory of him alive and his fight with the Satanists going.
Thank you for this story. I know we’re off topic, and the interview is worthy of so much discussion, but I was very grateful to hear your reminders of how things were back in March.
I remember from the iPhone videos and raw commentary we were all trying to absorb so rapidly back then that there was indeed a sense on the surface of a “Mexican standoff” between people who had no real desire to kill or destroy. It seemed often that the troops were more embarrassed than anything else, to be confronting the inhabitants. What sadness to see now how the hatreds were systematically and progressively stirred up.
What a difference a few snipers can make to history. History lies helpless before the hand of the assassin, and the determined evildoer.
Thanks!
OMG! This interview is one of the best, most informative and intellectually riveting I’ve read in some time. The questions were the ones I’ve been pondering for decades and the answers pulled no punches…especially the last line. Thanks to both of you. The alternate media is what keeps the hope of a future for humanity alive.

Exactly what I was thinking. :-)
Agreed — it is as if Saker asked all the questions I have wanted to ask Saker! These are serious, compelling questions for which no easy answers exist, but Roberts did a great job providing some clues.
It’s good to see consolidation of big hitters around common concernd
It was a horrible interview. PCR speculating about all kinds of things he has no information on. Worse, misinformation on how the Federal Reserve currently operates and who comprises the board in New York.
Such an important interview that the trolls have landed.
“If the Russians and Chinese do not expect a pre-emptive nuclear attack from Washington, they will be destroyed.”
Thanks for this article Saker. When The “allies” jumped aboard the AIIB it looked as though China may have been able to bring about change without war, but it looks as though US will not accept defeat. Pianoman posted these links not long ago under another article –

With Russia deploying latest generation nuke missile capable of evading missile defences, plus deploying its own latest generation missile defences, the US will be looking at using their first strike option before any perceived advantage is lost.
Hopefully there will be some warning with a cranking up of anti Russia propaganda in the MSM.

US House urges Obama to send arms to Ukraine
The US House has passed a resolution calling on President Barack Obama to send lethal weapons to Ukraine, despite the fragile truce in the eastern part of the country.
The non-binding resolution was approved by an overwhelming majority of 348-48.

Looks like I spoke to soon. Rooters off the block in getting the masses ready for nuke war.
Nuclear midnight ticks closer in wake of Russia’s Crimea threats
http://blogs.reuters.com/great-debate/2015/03/23/nuclear-midnight-ticks-closer-in-wake-of-russias-crimea-threats/
I agree with Saker, there will not be nuclear war. I feel it in my gut. Hillary will not be president.
I agree Ann, I have felt the same for a long time. Hillary will never become president – this is a gut feeling also. I wish I could say the same about nuclear war, however, if it comes to that I feel the US will be the entity that is destroyed not Russia.
I certainly hope the Russian gov’t and the Chinese gov’t realize the danger of doing nothing. Armenia, Uzbek., and Kyrgyz. should throw out US NGOs, and empty the US Embassies to skeletal staff levels- now.
Or, send all USA diplomats packing, and then debug the buildings.
Katherine
It all falls apart when he says about the risks of nuclear war, ” I think Washington is lost in hubris and arrogance and is more or less insane.”
That’s not an analysis, that’s just a cop out from someone whose cranky ideas just can’t be made to fit the facts.
I remember back in 1962 being taught how to survive a nuclear bomb by hiding under my school desk. Fortunately, the superpower leaders of the day realised the uselessness of nuclear war, and agreed to back down from the confrontation. The complexity of today’s attack/defence systems mean that NOBODY can be assured of the outcome, so no one will dare start anything nuclear. They are NOT stupid.
They are not stupid. They are demonically evil and believe their own ideological dogmas. They will use nukes if they think a first strike will win.
but they are insane and full of (false) pride. That’s is as insightful an analysis as you are going to get anywhere because it is true. Look at their behavior around the world sponsoring terrorism. Fighting ISIS in Iraq but not in Syria?? Allowing best allies to train ISIS you help provide them with weapons and then tell the public they are a threat to your security and you need more money fo rthe military. is that not so prideful that they think they can lie right to our faces and get away with it and funding cannibals is that not insane-Threatening war with a nuclear power that insists it will use nuclear weapons even in a limited ground war while they prepare for a ground war. Bang on Analysis.
I reckon they think that at least Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Ukraine aren’t going to be playing a big part in WW3. So what looks like a cock-up by madmen is actually laying the groundwork for the biggest mopping-up of resources ever seen, a bit further down the track when the gloves are off. Evil, yes, but insane?
Note how Hifter (CIA puppet) is now head of some Libyan army faction, and calling for foreign intervention to save the country from chaos. If you ignore all the pain and suffering caused by US interference there, Libya is still very much there for the taking – much better than still having un-predictable Gaddafi there.
Actually they are stupid. So stupid in fact, that most people consider them exceptionally intelligent. As they, obviously, do themselves. But they are not. They are only clever. Which, unfortunately, makes them even more dangerous and hell-bent.
Luckily, Vladimir Vladimirovic reincarnated just-in-time. :-)
I have thought a lot about this. Neocons are typically evangelical religious-right fundamentalists itching for their end-times prophecy involving what they interpret and perceive as war with Russia.
This deluded cherry-picked religious zeal clouds judgment, gives these arrogant deity channelers a sense of righteous immortality (ironically) and validates their pugnacious and aggressive brinkmanship. It’s essentially not prophecy as much as self-fulfilling prophecy.
Their groupthink and binary blinkered good-evil filter means they can think vertically and very cunningly but are unable to think horizontally and view the possible permutations of their actions, particularly with regard to other stakeholders and their cultures.
These are very dangerous people.
Sorry but the neo-cons have nothing to do with Christianity. Just read the sermon on the mount Jesus gave and you’ll see there is nothing in common at all between them. The neo-cons are just crazy political crackpots hell bent on US global domination. Just read their document “Program For A New American Century” and you’ll see that. Many people have had dreams and visions from God about a Russian nuclear attack on the USA so it appears that the US will eventually take it’s provocations against Russia too far and that will be the end of the US..
True: It will happen before the Anti-Christ term in DC expires!
In 1962 the US was on top of the world with no or very little debt and a lot to lose in the event of all out war. China was not a financial power capable of pulling the US dollar rug from under the US.
Today the US is a cornered rat, with huge debts that it can never repay or cover unless the US dollar remains the global reserve currency.
In 1962 we had a moral President who replaced the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who had the gall to recommend Operation Northwoods to him as a pretext for invading Cuba.
Since 1962 we have had Presidents without such moral compunction against immoral military and foreign policies.
Peter,
It is not 1962. The “beast,” for lack of a better word to describe all of the interconnected entities that make up the Washington establishment & satellites, has grown-up; the bit of ethnics that yet remained in 1962 are gone; fresh memories of World War II are all but gone among the public, otherwise they’d be out in the street to prevent this kind of carnage (the American peopke are largely desensitized to “nuke”); the economy & all that is at stake for the globalists when confidence in the dollar slips…… It is not 1962.
Very true. It has been on my mind for 20 years or so that the USA is essentially a deadbeat armed with thermonuclear (and biological and chemical) weapons. Not a nice prospect.
A reading of the Wolfowitz Doctrine, Brzezinski, and observing US actions and official statements since 1992 should be enough to know that there are those in Washington who believe their own think tank conclusions. If they think they can win it, they will do it. The body count is obviously unimportant to psychos.
During the Cuban Missile Crisis all the military men and advisers wanted to launch a pre-emptive attack on Russia–John and Robert Kennedy were opposed to that. One general said that he estimated 40 million Americans would die but over 150 million Russians would die which made it a favorable outcome. The myth that the U.S. is some idealistic country is caca. It stems from the fact American troops in WWII were relatively benign occupiers of Europe compared to everyone else. The military guys never forgave the Kennedy brothers–both were dead within six years.
“[M]ore or less insane” is a valid analysis when it is true. They are psychopaths and fanatics…a very deadly dual diagnosis of insanity.
They’re puppets…they’re promised “to be in” when the hammer drops. but I don’t think the hammer’s going to drop. Maybe a great human being will win the presidency…lets all vote for Cynthia McKinney…lets start a campaign….and we can 3D money.
Today the elite have their nice underground cities in which they can survive comfortably for decades. They think they can “win” the war, but even if not, they’ll be fine, all the “useless eaters”, like you and I, will die. They couldn’t care less about that – anymore than you care when an Iraqi child dies because US sanctions prevented simple medications from reaching Iraq. Sure you might be a little bothered for a moment when you read it but all in all life goes on just fine.
The fundamental problem you have is you think our rulers think they are part of us. No, they don’t. They think they are superior – exceptional, chosen, whatever label suits, but that label applies to them, not to you.
I think though that they are unlikely to risk a nuclear war until they have perfected 3D printing and made a bit of further progress on robotics. Without that, it cannot be guaranteed that their underground cities won’t suffer some dysfunction they cannot solve (it’s not possible to include the entire industrial base and supply chain necessary for modern living in an underground city; a 3D printer would greatly reduce the industrial footprint and robots can be used for mining raw materials and other work).
They can’t survive long. They have no concept on how dependent humans are on the biosphere in ways that hardly anyone can even imagine yet. Simply disrupting the ecology of the human biome as an integral part of the Earth’s biosphere, by isolation, is enough to kill them all. The biological system called Earth is far more complex than anyone can fathom now, not to mention the subtle energies which have been barely even detected, much less studied.
Totally agree with your assessment.
Regards, Spiral
And Blue, I agree with you too. I doubt these guys will destroy the planet. They’re too cowardly. Just imagine cornering Cheney or Rumsfeld (who are both in the ‘in’ group)…they would not act in a brave and courageous way. Even Kolomoisky is braver than them. Cheney’s hands look like they have never wielded even a hammer. They are not men. They are … I think its Vy ….a small demon.
I’m not even scared.
CalDre, I don’t know who you are, but I agree with you….

You will find the tombs and graves of mighty kings and rulers everywhere, but hardly ever one of those who actually help built them.
I don’t think they are smart enough to live on their own in those underground cities. Thay need army of slaves to support them, slaves with technical skills. Let’s suppose they bring with them an army of technically smart people, who can produce food and other stuff, it will last until the slaves die off. Then nobody will know how to sustain the unerground cities, eh :-)
” I think Washington is lost in hubris and arrogance and is more or less insane.”
I think so too, and have been saying it for years without being proven wrong. Many others also say it, including very expert and well placed an informed people.
You can think I’m just a crank copping out if you want, but your statement is certainly no less of just an opinion, and I’d guess far less informed than that of people like Roberts. But don’t mistake “They are NOT stupid” with ‘they are not crazy or filled with hubris. Never trust or underestimate psychopaths or sociopaths — or even think there is limit to destructiveness, madness, foolishness or even stupidity for people who are or seem to be clever in some areas.
It’s nice to think these so-called leaders are too smart to be so destructive, but going by the record so far that’s not true at all.
its a strange irony that the interview with PCR and we’re all talking nuclear war again…it never stops on his site. Sorry to have to say that PCR, but Saker’s optimism that the US and NATO are too weak for a nuclear war is a better tool for us mortals to work with, than the nuclear pessimism that the rest of alternative media, with you in the lead, gives.
I see I am not the only one who sees through PCR. The fact he served the defective Reagan and remains a loyal apologist for policies both foreign and domestic which initiated and greased the skids for the financialization of the economy, the destruction of organized labor, and the elimination of all that remained of policies which served any sort of public purpose. As for military and foreign policy, the administration he served so loyally then, is responsible for the ludicrous ideas that pervade the policies toeard Russia that exist today. I need not elaborate considering astute commentors on this site.
As I have often stated he is like the career criminal who finds religion suddenly when he is near his demise.
Mr anonymous wrote:”As I have often stated he is like the career criminal ….”
So you make it a habit to criticise one person ‘often’, and do it anonymous too. Not very honourable.
Mr Roberts gave an interview to Ellen Brown not so long ago, in which he explained what they did in the Reagan administration.
I found it fascinating. I have written out the last 23 minutes of the interview, in english.
You can find it here: Interview of PC Roberts by Ellen Brown
( Never mind the Dutch intorduction)
If the link does not work:

You want my name, well here it is: Charles Fasola. Does that make you feel bettrr. Do I criticize PCR consistantly? Yes,.. Do you believe the Reagan administration”s economic policies were wonderful? If so, you are a neo-liberal apologist, with little knowledge of the damage those policies did to labor. You most likely thing Thatcher was just a nice lady too? One last comment, Ms. Brown’s wrong-headed views on banking, money and monetary reform are truely an impediment to reform. If you had a clue regarding money and economics you would not be supporting her or Roberts. Why not address the content of my criticism instead of making a personal attack? Likely because you can not.
Mr.Fasola,
This all happened 35 years ago in countries far away from where I live (The Netherlands). All I know is that there was a serious crisis in 1980, and Reagan’s economic policies got things going again. In the Ellen Brown interview he explains why. Did the off-shoring of jobs start with Reagan? Are they really responsable for the effects in the 35 years that followed? About mrs. Thatcher I remember a little more. It was closer to home. The unions, mr Arthur Scargill c.s., were the bosses in the country. On the trains there were still people for the shuffeling of the coal in the oven! The power of the unions killed the country. Thatcher broke this power. It was not easy. It defintely took an iron lady, no less than that. But we cannot hold Reagan and Thatcher responsable for the pendulum going to the extreme other side. And staying there for so long. (Think we need another Thatcher to break the power of the Banksters). Reagan had some of the extremist Neocons indicted, as PCR told in the interview. But Bush 1 got them off the hook.
And yes: it makes me feel better that every time you criticise mr PCR you write your name under it. So we know its you again.
And it is fine that you have often stated that “PCR is like the career criminal who finds religion suddenly when he is near his demise” but we all know it is not fair to hold someone reponsable for inventing a cure or a medicine, and then blaming the inventor for all those who die of an overdose.
Isn’t it time to retire from your habit?
Actually I think PCR is very sincere and I like him alot. But I like Saker’s opinions better. Its not a personal thing. I think Dr Roberts is doing a fantastic job of exposing the Washington agenda and he has many devoted and good people who read his site every day and communicate with him.
It is quite suspicious the fact that, having being just Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration, Roberts defends so much the terribly awful Reagan while blaming the military for all the bad doing…
PCR is extremely biased. He is still protecting Ronald Reagan and is very egotistical. He means well, but he’s too much in love with being heard and self-important.
He has raised the alarm about nuclear war many times now. He is not incorrect. But the biggest threat can come from an accidental threat perceived and a response.
The more US surrounds and threatens Russia, the more an accidental nuclear war could start.
Roberts knows this and should have made this point much stronger and more clearly. At least
he is not coming off as hysterical as he was last year.
Mr Anonimous, you remind me of mr Fasola. Same drive.
Mr PCR is 75 years old and must be working lots harder than me. You really think he does this for ‘fame’ ? Is it very honorouble for a former Reagan admin. higher functionary, a WSJ functionary, a former professor… to be interviewed on a blog? ( Whaaauw, if Reagan only knew he would rise to such heights..) Seems your criticism is more of an inner urge than it is rational, is that right? Your reasoning is difficult to grasp for me.
@Anonymous 6:33 am March 24.
No you’re not the only one who sees thru Paul Craig Roberts and your above description is quite good. Also note how PCR recommends that Russia should bailout Greece, Spain, and Italy. This is the advice an enemy would give, not a friend: why would any so-called friend of Russia advise Russia to take on all the IMF’s (and by extension the EU’s) most radioactive liabilities? He’s advising Russia to swallow a financial poison-pill while letting the EU off the hook.
This is the same guy that claims to have invented trickle down economics (an economic policy that concentrates wealth at the top and what paltry amount that “trickles-down” from 1%ers are the crumbs the rest of the society gets to fight over).
He’s also the genius that urged Russia to overty and preemptively invade Ukraine right after the maidan coup: advice that would have lead to a disaster for Russia and the West.
And Ann correctly points out that PCR has penchant for flogging the Nuclear Holocaust scenario no matter what the facts say to the contrary. Everyone here whose bought into this fake bluff that members of an elite (be it the West or the East) are insane and willing to risk it all just protect their egos or ideology is deluded: You forget the coward’s primary urge towards self-preservation.
PCR has credibilty issues. It’s hard to believe anything he says because of the above and some of his extreme anti-US rhetoric and his alarmism about how likely the self-serving politicians and business elite would be to play nuclear chicken with any power let alone Russia.
David Stockman invented trickle down economics and has since rejected it, based on it’s abject failure.
I don’t know mr David Stockman, but suppose he worked for the 1% and knew in advance it wouldn’t work, wasn’t it a fine trick then?
Tell that to the Dutch Boy. He needs help with comprehension.
The Dutch Boy here.
Yes, mr Fasola,I have a question for you. I would like to find a job whre it pays out hugely to make mistakes. Do you have any suggestions for me? I am a little jealous of mr Greenspan who was mistaken about the financial world not needing regulation. It was a fantastic mistake and made the big banks very rich and powerfull. More powerfull than the governments, over here in Europe.
Same with those weapons of Mass destruction: mistake, but Oded Yinon was very happy. This was a fantastic mistake for those who made it. Not so much for the GI’s and their families. Not for the taxpayers. And not for the 1 million Iraki’s that got killed. And not for the 40 million surviving family members. But for the people who made the mistrae it was great! Oded Yinon is proud. I suppose you are happy about the mistake too. Just a hunch.

They may not be stupid – indeed, they sometimes exhibit a very high degree of rat-like cunning – but they do seem to be sunk deep in “doublethink”. To learn more about this interesting but extremely dangerous mental trick, please read George Orwell’s book “1984”. A brief summary of the relevant ideas can be found, e.g. at http://www.orwelltoday.com/doublethink.shtml
Here is the definition of doublethink given in “1984”:
“Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them. The Party intellectual knows in which direction his memories must be altered; he therefore knows that he is playing tricks with reality; but by the exercise of doublethink he also satisfies himself that reality is not violated. The process has to be conscious, or it would not be carried out with sufficient precision, but it also has to be unconscious, or it would bring with it a feeling of falsity and hence of guilt”.
Thus, for instance, an American Party intellectual knows that Russian military doctrine calls for the use of thermonuclear weapons in certain circumstances, which would very probably arise from a war between NATO and Russia. He also knows that a Russian thermonuclear strike would utterly destroy the USA, Europe, and other parts of the world.
But at the same time he knows that American culture and power are destined to dominate the world, and that nothing can stop that. Therefore all obstacles – such as Russian culture and sovereignty – must be overcome.
He is trained in doublethink, so he is able to hold both those sets of beliefs firmly in his mind without the slightest hint of doubt or cognitive dissonance. He is not stupid by any means; just insane.
I hope you are right, Anomymous, but I do not think you are. The past actions of the those mentaly disturbed neocons in Washington say otherwise, and it might help to read more of what PCR has to say, afterall he was there and has I beleive, more of an insight into the mentality of those concerned.
Whenever I think on this subject and like you find it hard to beleive, I remember this quote.
‘When an individual is presented with a conspiracy so monstrous, he cannot believe it exists’.
J.Edgar Hoover past President of the FBI
Anonymous (March 24, 2:56 am) said: “I remember back in 1962 being taught how to survive a nuclear bomb by hiding under my school desk. Fortunately, the superpower leaders of the day realised the uselessness of nuclear war, and agreed to back down from the confrontation.”
It’s true that Kennedy and Krushchev avoided nuclear war at the end of the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, but it is not true that the U.S. military leaders also “realised the uselessness of nuclear war, and agreed to back down from the confrontation.” In his 2008 book JFK and the Unspeakable — Why He Died and Why It Matters James W. Douglass (quoting a U.S. government publication) writes:
One month after the Missile Crisis, the Joint Chiefs [of Staff] pushed for a buildup in U.S. strategic [nuclear] forces to a disarming first-strike capability. On November 20, 1962, they sent a memorandum to Secretary of Defense McNamara stating: “The Joint Chiefs of Staff consider that a first-strike capability is both feasible and desirable …”
Both then [in an NSC meeting in July 1961] and now it had become clear that a nuclear first strike meant genocide to the people attacked. Now in September 1963, the National Security Council had once again reached the point of blandly considering the killing of 140 million Soviet citizens [plus the deaths of 30 million U.S. citizens in an unavoidable counterstrike] in a U.S. effort to beat their leaders to the nuclear punch. …
When President Kennedy was murdered in late 1963, the Soviet Union had been set up as the major scapegoat in the plot. … Those who designed the plot to kill Kennedy were familiar with the inner sanctum of our national security state. Their [planned] attempt to scapegoat the Soviets for the president’s murder reflected one side of the secret struggle between JFK and his military leaders over a preemptive strike against the Soviet Union. The assassins’s purpose seems to have encompassed not only killing a president determined to make peace with the enemy but also using his murder as the impetus for a possible nuclear strike against that same enemy.
JFK was murdered because he planned to make peace with the U.S.’s “perceived enemies”, against the determination of the CIA/Military/Elite to pursue its program of global domination. There is no chance that in 2016 anyone could be elected President with the same aim that JFK had. They would be killed as soon as, or before, it became clear that they had enough popular support to be elected.
Further extracts from James W. Douglass’s book may be read at The U.S. National Security Act of 1947, the Origin of “Plausible Deniability” and the Assassination of JFK, a book which is essential reading for anyone who wants to know what is at the core of the American drive for global hegemony, and what will very likely produce a global nuclear war, and before long.
The Chinese have a few military men who understand. I see little sign of the Standing Committee recognizing the threat of annihilation. Chinese worry about being shamed, slighted, treated unfairly. They barely see the true evil they face. However, they have moved to a concerted partnership on defenses, anti-terror, and weapons development with Russia. They admire Russia’s balls, Putins cleverness and daring.
Russia keeps thinking Europe will split. It won’t. However, I’ve written here before exactly what Roberts suggests that Southern Europe is available for the taking by China and Russia. Greece, Italy and Spain all are very available for separation from the North European world.
Great interview, Saker.
The Hegemon is an evil beast that is not going to collapse or let go of any vassal.
It must be confronted, the way Russia is doing.
Don’t be so sure Europe won’t split, Larchmonter. Personally, I am going to vote UKIP until it attains its goal of extracting the UK from the EU. I voted conscientiously at every possible election between 1969 (when I came of age to vote) and 2010. Every time I voted for the Conservative Party, as the most practically competent in a choice of evils. Then, quite suddenly, I realised that the Conservative Party had been practicing upon my gullibility; it was not conservative at all. Like many other British people of all ages, I decided that UKIP was the only party that really intended – on principle – to get us out of the EU.
Reading British newspaper articles online, you find that the great majority of reader comments are intensely sceptical of the politically correct party line as expressed by the media. I wouldn’t be surprised if the UK were to leave the EU, and as the logical case for leaving NATO is so overwhelming, that could follow soon after.
There will be no ukip tory votes deciding Scotlands future they don’t have any support here. We’re joining the Eurasian Union
@ Tom Welsh – great policy:

“You start thinking about basic needs – to take a shower, to take a shave, to cut your hair. And you’re just close to animal life.”
The speaker is Osman – a gentle, well-educated Sudanese man in his late 20s. He’s quietly explaining how his life has been shattered.”
I guess you’d maybe like a big wall around the UK too (or is that just England) – just to make sure none of those 35,000 who starve/day get in?
I think you are right on Southern Europe (and I’d add some states in the Balkan’s and Central Europe. And most especially Latin America). But the key to that is if they see that they would be better off by doing that. Russia more than China, must show them they can be protected from US retaliation i.e. “color revolutions”.And China more than Russia must show them that their economies can prosper more siding with the multi-polar world. Russia and China need to pick a couple of countries that can be turned around easiest. And with the leadership that agree’s with them, plan and rebuild those countries. There is nothing that works best than “examples”.The US and EU have told their vassal states that they will crush them if they desert them.Only if they see they will be better off out of the Empire’s grasp will they take the chance.
Completely agree with your analysis! But I still think/ hope there are enough prudent voices in the Pentagon, although if Hillary or a republican neocon becomes president they will be gradually replaced. I guess/ hope we still have a few years before final confrontation. Putin should cherish latin America and south / east central Europe. I hope he can convince the Chinese to support this. And he should send some advisers like Federov to the ´stans´.
Hi anon, it would be easier to know who you are agreeing with if you named the person in your first words. This ‘reply’ button can become confusing.
Excellent interview. PCR is very good at emphasizing the most important issues surrounding the US Empire.
But I will have to point one inconsistency and one disagreement with what was said by PCR.
When answering the question about the Anglosphere, PCR makes clear that all of the smaller Englsih speaking countries (UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) are in essence US vassals and merely take orders from Washington. That sounds plausible for sure. But he then goes on to describe how Israel controls the US, or at least, its Middle East policy. So what is it then? A US Empire? Or a Zionist Empire? Of course the answer here may be that the US Empire has the peculiarity of having a tiny country that should have been little more than a second-rate vassal, have an outsized influence on its foreign policy in relation to one of the most strategically vital regions of the planet. In my personal opinion, Chomsky is mostly correct. The final say is with Washington, irrespective of the great influence of the Jewish lobby in the US. These latest talks with Iran seem to support this view.
My second disagreement is in relation to the rabid Russia-hating so typical of US and other western elites. It is not the result of the Wolfowitz doctrine. It is centuries old, and from time to time (when the West faces internal crises) it explodes. We live in exactly such a period. The reasons behind it are several: the expansion of the Russian Empire between the 17th and 19th centuries over a vast surface of the globe. The perceived barbarism of a “semi-Asiatic” nation. Jealousy over Russia’s vast natural resources. Bitterness over never managing to defeat Russia, Napoleonic Europe and Hitlerite Europe being the prime examples here. The association of Russia with communism (still there is the minds of many) The association of Russia with modern (as opposed to post-modern) values. The ability of Russia to ruin their plans. The potential of Russia in re-emerging as a superpower in the not-so-distant future. Etc, etc, etc.
In other news, it seems that I have been overly pessimistic (or optimistic, depending on your point of view) apropos the US shale industry. There already clear signs (not final figures yet) that US oil and gas production has commenced its inevitable decline since January. I expected it to begin a rapid drop by the second half of this year, but I may have been off. This has to be watched closely.

@Stavros H
No, Chomsky is a typical jewish gatekeeper, as Gilad Atzmon correctly stated in his interview with the Saker. Same thing for Finkelstein.
PCR is also correct that the US hostility towards Russia comes basically from the neocon doctrine. If Russia was to be just another vassal there would be no problems.
In fact, PCR, if anything, understates the power of Israel re US foreign policy.
The attack on Russia has much to do with russian blocking actions against israeli enemies Syria and Iran and with the crackdown on jewish oligarchs who were trying to overthrow the Putin government.
Don’t u know who Nuland of the kagan clan is?
http://m.wsj.net/video/20150324/032415hubamisrael/032415hubamisrael_v2_ec464k.mp4
I agree. Roberts’ dismissal of the US public’s Russophobia as just going along with whatever the media spews out is off the mark, I think. I am constantly taken aback at how virulent the online message board attacks on Putin and Russia in general are – way too virulent to be just knee-jerk, “sheeple”-like incantations. I don’t get it, really, since I imagine most people in this country hardly thought about Putin (if at all) before he started to be mocked consistently on NBC’s coverage of the Olympics (and how many had even heard of Ukraine before it turned into 24/7 news?). The anti-Russian vitriol appears to have been just waiting to explode forth. Almost atavistic.
The question of what Israel controls in the US is complex — and also to a great extent wrongly stated.
First, we acknowledge that the zionists/neocons have immense influence through money and media, but is that Israel? Well, Israel forms a base of operations and support to a degree, but the zionists are also a major support of the state of Israel, which would be in much worse shape without them funneling money there from the US — as well as the needed arms sales by Israel which depends on US warmongering policies to a great degree.
Then there is the question of whether Israel is in control of itself, much less the US. They have major problems domestically, and it isn’t clear how much longer the the right wing can keep control VS the people who are getting increasingly sick of the poverty and other problems there. There seems to be an edge to a cliff there, much as in the US, which could be crossed fairly suddenly if the right sparks flare up and ignite popular dissatisfaction, but also a growing resistance to going along with the program.
So we are not talking Israel, the country, so much, I think, as a right wing ‘elite’ who are trying to keep things together both in the US and back in Israel both. If they lose it in either one, control of the other falls with it. Or if the powers in Israel go off track from the US program (say by attacking someone the US can’t abide being attacked) then US and Israel spread too far apart for the same zionist elite to control both, and keep them feeding off each other. The war chariot doesn’t get far when the two horse run in different directions. What would the US be able to do, for instance, if Israel and the Saudis end up at war?
I don’t think that US controls Canada or Israel, or Israel controls US and thus Canada. All of these countries are so-called “liberal democracies”. What “liberal democracies” have in common is that they have been set up precisely to permit clandestine control by the global oligarchs (which Saker refers to as the Anglo-Zionists and others like me as the Illuminati).
So the real answer is: they are all controlled by the global oligarchs.
The global oligarchs desire a certain amount of dissension amongst their vassal states, their politicians (and controlled opposition), their think tanks, and their mass media empires, as it maintains the illusion of “democracy” and “sovereignty”, which illusions are necessary for them to maintain their clandestine control. Indeed propaganda is much more powerful when you can convince the reader – as has been successfully done in the “West” – that the media is “free”.
In other words, Blair is not Bush’s poodle, nor is US Israel’s. They are all poodles of the global oligarchs.
I agree again CalDre, but you seem to project a global empire that has existed for a long time. This is a fairly recent development..this global oligarchic structure. And its not leak-proof. Its still in the ‘development stages’ and can still be dismantled.
If people just start living life again, without money, and all the amenities that we’ve all grown used to…cars and gasoline and enough food and movies and …gulp…computers, we can survive.
I want to help Cynthia McKinney. I heard a talk by her, given a month ago, where she talked about how she would be willing tohelp others to get to Washington to inaugurate change. I think she needs to go back there. Think if she was president…what a dream… but that’s part of what it takes to take back our planet.
those damn oligarchs need us. I wish they would go to another planet like the Secret Space Program suggests…but they need us.
@Ann
what about the SUV’s and the boats up the driveways and the inheritance tax (well, your child is more valuable than the neighbours, right?) and the societal mini to major oligarch creation factory?
I have a Greek friend – he says “what New World Order? it’s the same as the old”
Yes alas, its true. Its the same thing…Rudolf Steiner said until the system is changed humanity will not progress. The oligarches need a new outlook on life. To be excited by production not profit.
I don’t think a black American can/will be President again for at least a couple of generations.I don’t see it.The right-wing has done a stellar job of discrediting Obama, implying that his failures are because he is black. While his failures have turned many of his early supporters against him. They might not harp on his being black (they supported him,so accepted,or even were happy because of that). But still they are turned off of him now.And that won’t help any other black candidate to gain traction with those people.
Many of those people (mistakenly) are now supporting the idea of Hillary Clinton being the “First female President”.Not understanding that a President shouldn’t be picked by race or gender. That intelligence, and concern for the well being of their nation and its people should be the only criteria for getting elected. But of course the main electors haven’t been the US population for years now.Its the special interest groups that pick and fund the candidates. So its which one that will serve their needs better that gets elected. It just helps if they can find the right appeal for voters to go for.
In Obama’s case they made him out to be “a race healer, and liberal” perfect to “rescue” the country from the Bush years. Now that he is shown as a divider and almost as much a neo-con as Bush. They’ve turned to “Hillary”.She’s a female and so-called “liberal”.So they think she’ll appeal to women and liberals. If they looked closer they’d see a neo-con in “liberal” dress.Someone more supportive of the use of force in the World, than even Obama. And very much in bed with the Zionists in her party. She comes from a Jewish background, and so would be both the first female and Jewish President if the oligarchs chose her.
There is no one I’ve seen on the Republican side that is even worthy of cussing out on here (so far). And the idea of a third party candidate running and winning is too funny to take seriously. They would get no money to campaign with. And no media coverage (at least positive media coverage). And on the off chance miracle they overcame those problems and got elected.Without having allies and fellow party members in Congress. They’d be even more of a lame duck than Obama is now.Except with them it would be from the start. That is where these third party Presidential candidate ideas fall apart. No one seems to figure out that unless you have Congress members to support you, you can get nothing done in office.
Cynthia McKinney would never get elected, nor would Ron Paul or anyone who presented real change….watch the movies on how Deibolt, the voting machine company, was rigging elections in Florida for Bush. The machines were proven to do reverse voting counts–negative votes! So there are no real elections in the US. The audited voting counts were all inaccurate- certified wrong! No one for real change can get in right now. We have to cut off their money supply. Anyone have money in Wells Fargo? US Bank ? Bank of America? You are their paycheck. There’s a movement growing to boycott the polls- and I’ll join it.
I agree with you, Ann, the oligarchs belong on another planet. I keep telling God they don’t belong here and the trick is to separate ourselves from them very completely. Take back all our energy, money and belief that they are not as evil as they seen. They are worse than we imagine. This is a great website…one of the best, easy to post on too.
Thanks, SAKER.
CalDre,
I said this in a previous thread (/kolomoisky-finishing-ukraine-up/)
“If the 2 charts of US / Russian wealth share in this link http://www.businessinsider.com/putting-russias-unparalleled-wealth-disparity-in-perspective-2013-10?IR=T are realistic then Russia is even more demonic than “the West”.”
Since you refer to the Illuminati Anglozionist equivalence I wonder (since the people are even more deprived in Rus) if you can further comment:
why you do not consider the current oligarchical setup in Russia to be a component part of the Illuminati?
Thanks.
I think you mistake that peoples support of Russia’s position means they think Russia is a paradise on earth.I think most everyone here knows Russia has serious problems that need correcting. But that has nothing to do with the rightness or wrongness of the situation in Ukraine and support for a multi-polar world.
Russia is under attack by neo-cons intent on subjecting and dismembering her.Using fascists to further their plans. When you look at history its quite clear that most wars are not fought by “those without sin”.Stalin’s regime was certainly not one of those without sin.And yet in choosing sides,I have no problem in picking the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany to support.
Unlike the West,Russia’s problems are internal problems. They are not exporting chaos and terror trying to dominate the world. They will hopefully (if Putin succeeds) correct many of their issues. In the meantime I’ll support the side not trying to dominate and terrorize the world.

You nailed it on the head!!!!!!
“They are not exporting chaos and terror trying to dominate the world”
That doesn’t mean that they are good.
This (again) does mean that they are potentially worse than “the West”:
http://www.businessinsider.com/putting-russias-unparalleled-wealth-disparity-in-perspective-2013-10?IR=T
It appears this fight is between two evil empires.
I’ll support the side not trying to dominate their fellow man.
I agree with you. Russia is NOT trying to be an empire, as some people have suggested. On the contrary: it is just struggling for its sovereignty.
“it is just struggling for its sovereignty”
So what?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sponsored/rbth/society/9775359/russia-rich-poor-divide.html
“According to the State Statistics Service’s published Funds Coefficient, an indicator that measures the richest against the poorest segments of the population, the rich have continued to grow richer while the poor have stayed more or less in the same position. In 1995, the coefficient was 13.5 and it has risen steadily (despite a dent around the economic crisis) to 16.1 in 2011.
“This indicator has constantly been increasing. It is basically evidence of the widening gulf between the rich and the poor – the most wealthy layer of society and the least wealthy,” says Anna Bogdyukevich, a macroeconomics and fixed income analyst with the ATON Capital Group.
“This has been the trend throughout the Nineties and the 2000s, and has continued in recent years.””

Excellently put in a nut shell, Uncle Bob.
I agree with you about the west’s hatred of ‘semi-asiatic’ Russia…this is ideology…
Rudolf Steiner and other occultists of the white path have known for centuries that Russia is destined to lead humanity after the year 3575, for a couple of millennia …and the west (Brits) don’t submit to this. Its them that created modern Israel.
I know it sounds crazy, but denial of the spiritual is actually wearing blinders. PCR might not have any connection with the secret brotherhoods and their rituals, so he’s never been invited. He would think its all hogwash.
The ideology is supremacy of the white anglo-saxon man….and its them that are supporting the Israelis. If the white man really wanted to stop Israel…they could in a second.
Perhaps Israel is the gateway ..white man can stop the other colors through this gateway.
“If the white man really wanted to stop Israel…they could in a second.”
If the white man really wanted to stop world starvation…they could in a second.
“Useless eaters” we were called by Kissinger and the Illuminati. They want us all dead or enslaved. But they forgot about free will. If we don’t agree, they can’t make us serve them. Hard as it is to see this, freedom is an inside job. We don’t have to serve them. And we can declare the end of any previous agreement to live as they said. They are spraying Chem Trails all over where I live….for the first time….it was planned to pollute. Thousands of Snow Geese dropped from the sky in Idaho, poisoned by Chem Trails. That is who they are.
Stavros, I will add something to your list of US phobias about Russia that is a recent development. Watching Putin’s interview in the film about Crimea (thanks to those who posted links!) I realized what Obama’s personal hatred is caused by, (something that, much as I fault Reagan for many reasons, he as US president was not guilty of.)
That is, Putin knows US history, and he knows the finer aspects of it. Fairly recently, in a last attempt to reason with the unreasoning, Putin wrote an op ed for the New York Times, in which he called this country to task for not following precepts laid down by the Founding Fathers. He is actually more attuned to fundamentals of law and human rights than any of our recent presidents, more the president this country should have elected, meant to elect, in 2008 – instead of the sham we got. I think Obama knows it. He knows that Putin is the leader he pretended to be. And the shallow nature of Obama’s ‘first class’ education by comparison doesn’t stand against Putin’s knowledge of his own country’s history, and his affectionate reverence for the peoples that he serves.
I disagree with Mr. Roberts on his final statement – there is not going to be any intentional nuclear war. There could certainly be a terrible accident with all these weapons floating around, and the situation is indeed stupidly dangerous. But these fools know there are no pre-emptions against big states like Russia. They only pick on the little guys. That’s what bullies do.
Whatever one thinks of the power of organizations to impose and perpetuate tyranny, they don’t last forever. These are perpetuated by rich old megalomaniacs who eventually go to meet their Maker – nobody’s figured out a way to avoid that confrontation, even if they don’t believe it will happen.
And then, blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
The meek shall inherit nothing.
Hard hitting questions, intelligent answers. This is what the internet is for.
note to editor;
PCR [1st answer – 8th paragraph;
“A Chinese professor told me that the Rockefeller Foundation had created an American University in China and is used to organize various anti-regime Chinese.”
“…anti-regime, Chinese ‘what [groups, individuals, counter organizations, etc]?”
Individuals, those heroes of the US embassy and US neocons like the Blind Man, and various lawyers who fight against Chinese government with meaningless issues to get arrested and become the latest cause, then get out of the country and write a book, 15 minutes of fame and some money.
There’s a litany of them. It’s always about human rights and democracy, issues the vast majority have no issue with in China. But if you want to poke the Panda, sometimes you get swiped fiercely by the Dragon.
Of late, the Chinese generally try to get them out of the country instead of even throwing them in jail for their crimes.
China has 100,000 NGOs and they are mostly a pox on the system.
Chinese society is a vocal, easy to stir up culture. They don’t need outside help to tell them what is wrong or needs fixing. They are short-tempered with the government (especially local and provincial government) and tend to have much more patience and forbearance with the national central government.
I don’t understand why they don’t just kick them all out. Even the ones that are not evil are useless.

Your constant copyediting comes across as condescending and gratuitous nitpicking.

Interview: Paul Craig Roberts: Awesomely the best questions I’ve seen posed with no nonsense answers provided since this whole Ukrainian ( not so proxy) war with Russia began Thanks to you both! The Czechs have made it a 10 year prison sentence to throw an egg at a US. tank if, say, the soldiers in the tank retaliate and create an incident.
My question to you Europeans who have no excuses ( you have labor unions, you have opposition political parties, you have political consciousness) are you going to let the US neocons turn your turf into their playground?
Dude you have no idea how bad it is in Europe vassal states, here is my POV from France.
Most French view the US as liberator and still think that without them we would speak german .
The government and the media are 100% aligned everything that the government say and does will be supported by the media.
The government is 100% aligned on US policy especially since the last 8 years. Our own President is a young leader a member of the French American foundation ( US ngo/cia) as well as our minister of foreign affair and our finance minister.
To get into power you have to be aligned or otherwise you won’t even exist publicly as the media will black you out.
In France it is considered antisemitism to say Jew influence or even Jew lobby even though our prime minister as said that he was eternally linked to Israel through his wife.
The (fake ) opposition Marine Le Pen “FN” was promoted back in 1981 by leftist French president Mitterrand to divide the right as to ensure his reelection .
The FN is viewed as racist and therfore will be never be elected on any major scene (president) because most French are not racist and that the media constantly remind us of the SHOA (about twice a day) .
Do you see the trick here ?
It is the only promoted opposition party yet since it is viewed a s racist will never come into power.
This ensure that a regular left or right panzy will be elected.
The media alway promote US view and most people think that Poutine (see i m french ^^ ) is an evil dictator that is trying to put back together the USSR.
Of course some of the lies have been so blatant lately that some of the population is awakening on the Russia subject but it is still very limited.
But a lot of law on Internet controlled has just been passed under the Chalire Hebdo anti terrorist cover and they can now persecute anybody that is judge to be a potential terrorist ( so basically anybody that doesn’t fall in line)
Most French are in the Matrix and a lot of those will refuse to take the red pill in fear of losing there confortable lifes.
@ Charlie is not
You’re so right with your comment, merci.
I live in the vassal state who attacked you three times in 145 years. Just waiting for some Charlie Hebdo over here. Or maybe that isn’t even necessary when all decisions come from Bruxelles, or is it Washington?
To quote you with one change: “Most Germans are in the Matrix and a lot of those will refuse to take the red pill in fear of losing their comfortable lifes.”
Je suis Edward Snowden
I contradict your “145” using a quote from Von Moltkes insightful book about the Franco Prussian war. Also note that this Napoleon was a british puppet.
“To-day the question is not so much whether a nation is strong enough to make war, as whether its Government is powerful enough to prevent war. For example, united Germany has hitherto used her strength only to maintain European peace; while the weakness of a neighbouring Government continues to involve the gravest risk of war.
It was, indeed, from such a condition of relations that the war of 1870—71 originated. A Napoleon on the throne of France was bound to justify his pretensions by political and military successes. Only temporarily was the French nation contented by the victories of its arms in remote fields of war; the triumphs of the Prussian armies excited jealousy, they were regarded as arrogant, as a challenge; and the French demanded revenge for Sadowa. The liberal spirit of the epoch set itself against the autocratic Government of the Emperor; he was forced to make concessions, his internal authority was weakened, and one day the nation was informed by its representatives that it desired war with Germany.”
@charlie is not
Lol, this [crying] [—–] from a citizen of the country that gave Europe the French Revolution! Would LOVE to see you [——] back in the old days when you actually DID have a tyrannical aristocracy and Guantanamo Bay, aka the Bastille, was up and running.
The Palestinians, Shias, Syrians, Somalis, and now the Yemenites are all bravely and courageously resisting the Empire. The Vietnamese defeated 3 superpowers (France, Japan, China) such was their desire for freedom and self-determination. The Blacks in the US put it all on the line to take down the most vicious system of racial apartheid ever created and brought the entire world the idea and concept of civil rights.
And your whining because:
“To get into power you have to be aligned or otherwise you won’t even exist publicly as the media will black you out.”
[—-] you Euro’s are spoiled, entitled brats. Even your illegal immigrants brave a gauntlet of steel just to work sub-minimum wage in one of your factories, and you dare complain that, “Dude you have no idea how bad it is in Europe vassal states”.
You don’t deserve freedom!
MOD: language cleaned up a bit. Please be courteous even to people you disagree with
Also all political Union in France are now financed by the European Union and are now Trojan horse than anything to install Bruxelle neo liberal policies.
Also France is obligated to follow Bruxelle neo liberal policies or has to face financial sanctions.
Also France is obligated to follow NATO and thus doesn’t control its foreign policy.
We are a vassal state with a fake democracy that insure that the people are controlled, is why nothing will happen from France anyway in the short term .
While I like PCR’s work, I cannot understand why he consistently understates the larger relationship between the US governing elites and the elites of Europe, most especially of the UK.
In my humble opinion, the UK is not a vassal, it is a full fledged, and perhaps even senior, partner in the Anglo-American part of the AZ Empire.
Great interview!!
Usually Mr.Roberts speaks more in terms of the neocons, but here he names names and people who are not familiar with the fact that neoconservatism is a jewish intellectual/political movement with main themes being Israel and whats good for the jews, can see the players for whom they are.
As for 9/11, I agree with Mr.Roberts, Israel and its agents are behind it.
To Saker and the community, take a look at what marine vet and former Director of Studies, Strategic Studies Institute, U.S. Army War College, had to say about it:

Let’s hope for the fall of the Dollar, it seems to me as the surest way to bring about the collapse of the US. Several moves can be pursued to bring this about. Mr.Roberts has spoken of several possibilities of achieving this goal in some recent articles.
Also, I kinda do not believe that if Russia(even better if with China) stand firm and make sure that there will be devastating consequences for ZUSA to act stupid, that the cowardly zusan elite would risk going for broke. Plus, the ignominious and pathetic euro vassal elite would blink even before their zusan masters.
Mr.Roberts point about how ZUSA uses tthe EU and NATO to control Europe is perfect.
Many good ideas of how to counter the empire at various levels!

I agree with you – the fall of the dollar will bring about the changes we are looking for. It is the economy that is real – the state is only ideology.

US To China: ‘Infrastructure Bank’ This! – Test-Fires ICBM As A “Visual To The World”
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-03-23/us-china-infrastructure-bank
The American gov’t is psychotic over the thought of losing their petrodollar scam supremacy.
As always, another highly enlightening interview with Dr. Roberts. I highly recommend all to read his latest book entitled “How America Was Lost”. Excellent read.
Gentlemen: Could one of you explain the apparent contradiction these two points made in the interview:
1. Two of the private interest groups that control the country are the top banks, and the “extractive industries” (mining, timber, etc.)
2. The price of gold is being driven down by big banks selling gold futures contracts naked short.
If mining companies (specifically gold mining companies), are at least partly controlling the country, why would they damage their own industry by allowing the price of gold to be suppressed? Are the private interests sometimes fighting among themselves?
I think the gold mining industry is too small to count…
@ Bill,
Looks at what has happened to the price of oil? Nobody [except us, ordinary folks] really benefits [$$-wise] from it, yet here we are, $60 a barrel [give or take].
Cui bono?
Yes, the various factions do fight one another — especially recently the financial sector (who doesn’t care if people have money to buy things) vs the manufacturing sector (who want customers with money). All of these psychopaths are out for themselves, although they will form alliance with others when it suits their purposes.
BTW — a point I missed making in my other post which I heard quite a while ago is that the US zionists funnel money from the US to Israel, which then spends a fair bit of it on US arms, but also to fund Jewish lobbies and organizations which work in the zionists’ favor — so to an extent, the US is funding it’s own ‘overlords’.
It’s all complicated as hell though, at detail level, with a forest of obscure, tortuous, links, networks, and feedback loops.
@ Blue,
Q; It’s all complicated as hell though, at detail level, with a forest of obscure, tortuous, links, networks, and feedback loops.
R; It reminds me of this; In Europe, one vast colony of Argentine ants is thought to stretch for 6,000km (3,700 miles) along the Mediterranean coast.
But all the obfuscation in the world won’t keep the eyes of mankind closed for ever.
I don’t have the figures but US corporations are making their greatest profits from financial transactions rather than from their core productive missions. So, whatever your company does for a living, as a director/CEO you will be buying back your own stocks to raise their value ( both for yourself and as your corporation), manipulating annual reports, laying off a piece of the workforce, offshoring liabilities, shifting costs to the next year – whatever it takes to give your stocks the highest value and pay yourself the greatest amount in bonuses and dividends. I suppose the gold mining companies are no different.
The Fed makes all this possible with zero-cost loans for stock manipulations. All this will only stop when the Fed stops, and raises interest rates, i.e. the cost of money.
Bill, its the same players in all the big money…
Gold mining is not involved. Very few countries have gold to mine, and selling too much brings the price down.
The mining that is truly profitable is for substances that there is a lot of, that are easy to get, and in great demand because they are constantly being used up. OIL, GAS, COAL and iron ore.
Gold mining companies are economic non-entities.
The extractive industry is the oil/gas majors (ExxonMobil, Chevron, etc.), major coal mining companies, ferrous and non-ferrous mining companies (especially iron ore and copper), and then secondarily the major timber companies like Weyerhauser, and major aggregate companies (Hanson, Haines and Kibblehouse, etc.). Annexed to this are the refiners, smelters, steel mills, petrochemical companies, paper mills, and railroads.
These are companies operating on a global scale that are beyond the control of any one nation.
at this point the gold miniing companies are keeping all the gold…once gold goes up they will make a trillion…
Time for us mortal useless eaters to do away with money. I saw that title of a book a couple of days ago..I think the author was Thomas Greco…I’m going to buy it when I can afford it.
There’s a small gold mining industry (only so much left to be mined) but a not-so-small gold manipulation industry that benefits wall street and keeps the price in check, to the benefit of the petrodollar. Sovereign gold theft is also alive and well and living in America.
I think it is awesome you both got together.
Why isn’t PCR interviewing the Saker ?
LOL !
Good show.
Nce. I’ll go one better: why isn’t PCR or the Saker interviewing me? ;)
Great interview but some notable loose ends: PCR states regarding the Israeli Lobby that ”Israel controls the US, but only its Mid-East policy”, and “Israel can also block some presidential appointments and has vast influence over the print and TV media.” Well, here is a clearly contradictory package of assertions: the entire thing would have made more sense had it been: “and not only its Mid-East policy. “ I mean, if Israel, or Zionism, or Jews, wield extremely disproportionate power and influence in American media and politics, this influence and power is surely not just confined to ‘only the Mid-East.’
Another important gap in the discussion pertains to the power in the States of the CIA and NSA and FBI and other ‘intelligence/security’, military-related agencies. Although the “military/security complex” was referred to as being of prime importance, the subject was not fleshed out.
In so far as the comments on the Federal Reserve go, the private and secretive nature of that conglomeration, and the Reserve’s independence from and in effect supremacy over the political system, its creation of a debt-based economy, and it’s critical role in the global hegemonic project, are examples of aspects to flesh out. James Corbett’s recent film on the Federal Reserve, Century of Enslavement, merits attention, imo. The statement that “The Federal Reserve was created as lender of last resort to prevent banks from failing because of runs on the bank or withdrawal of deposits” is, while true to a point, an inadequate shorthand description of the origins of “The Creature from Jekyll Island.”
PCR also states “It is Washington’s empire, no one else’s.”, but even if one accepts this, it begs the question, who control’s Washington? And the declaration that Washington is controlled by ‘powerful interest groups’ still leaves the waters murky, imo.
The statement “Without a movement, the president has no independent power and no one to appoint who will do his bidding.” is I think unduly pessimistic: A good President can inspire, build/create support, and so on. An example is JFK’s moment of illumination/conversion to the idea of the great desirability of a cessation of atmospheric nuclear testing. He began from personal ignorance, and had initially only marginal support within major institutions and the public, but by dint of extreme effort, powers of communication based on common sense and sincere concern for future human well being, was able to transform the situation into one of broad support.
A telltale sign of a perhaps disabling pessimism in PCR is found in the statement “There really are no people powerful in themselves.” Certainly not in the sense of Atlas holding up the world, but if individual power is the ability for an individual to cause something to happen, such power is commonplace. We are not helpless. What we do matters.
But a wide ranging and refreshing interview it was!
“who control’s Washington?”
I know this will be a bit ‘out there’ for some, because the author talks about “bloodlines” and “illuminati,” but most of the key issues and key names are there. It’s a full book, so there’s a lot to read, but just brushing through the index will give you a broad idea about how the network (for a lack of better term) works.
[*Disclaimer] I do not support everything that is included on the rest of that site (I’ve read this book before and this is one of the places where you can access it in full, that‘s all), nor I’ll vouch 100% for Springmeier’s info, but a lot of what he writes about does cross-check with what other more respectable scholars have been publishing over the years.

TLDR; here’s a short list of the families that are really in charge: Rockefellers, Fords, DuPonts, Astors, Cabots, Lodges, Vanderbilts, Kennedys, Mellons, Rothchilds, Cargills, Morgans, Carnegies, Kellogs – and I’m sure there are more.
To answer the question: “who control’s Washington?” Those people do!
I’d imagine every time someone mentions the term: ‘powerful interests’ they’re actually alluding to those ‘family’ names better described as dynasties, really.
“The statement “Without a movement, the president has no independent power and no one to appoint who will do his bidding.” is I think unduly pessimistic”
PCR is right. What he meant by “movement” is really referring to a strong popular backing, pretty much like Putin’s 85% approval rating, or like how Chavez got re-instated as president after the failed US-led coup. His return was made possible, in no small measure, by the overwhelming popular support Chavez carried, people were livid and ready to lynch the illegitimate and treacherous junta.
On the subject of JFK; he got whacked when he strayed too far off the reservation, or so people like to believe…
I personally think he was as corrupt as any of the others and got done because he wanted more power for his family [dynasty] at the expense of the other ones.
The others didn’t like it and got rid of him and his brother (and later, as a reminder, they got rid of his son [JFK Jr.] too), in turn sending a powerful message to the rest of the ‘in-crowd’ not to get funny ‘ideas.’
-TL2Q
Two books on JFK that I’ve found especially revealing: Donald Gibson’s Battling Wall Street:The Kennedy Presidency, and James W. Douglass’s JFK and the Unspeakable: Why he died and why it matters. I am sure the authors would not agree with your assessment of JFK.
Of course strong popular backing helps, but it can be built, can be strengthened, can be weakened, used well or misused. Strong support for Putin has in part been very well earned, and in part is rally round the leader, reflective of broad Russian realization that they are being viciously and existentially threatened.
As above, popular support comes in various flavors: Some ‘popular support’ is chimerical, or a house built on sand/lies, or even an opportunity for the demonic. After the false flag of 9/11, support for Bush rose very much very quickly. Wars of aggression externally, and internally the Patriot Act and other police state measures, were implemented with minimal opposition.
@Anon: The guy was a butcher, the bombing of Vietnam alone is enough to grant him such title: “In Vietnam, a similar approach led to massive devastation. In the winter of 1961-62, Kennedy initiated the full-scale bombing of those parts of South Vietnam controlled by the National Liberation Front (all but Saigon and its immediate surroundings). The justification that bombing was needed to defeat the revolution masked the indiscriminate nature of the aerial assault, which resulted in casualties that were overwhelmingly civilian[..]”

As for his brother “Bobby” new witnesses are coming forward saying he was involved in the killing of Marilyn Monroe (sorry, I don’t have the link for that one, I saw it on a documentary on TV a few months ago)
The point still remains that he was one of “them” and here’s the part where we can all agree: he was doing stuff “they” didn’t like and “they” got rid of him.
The rest of your points I agree with, Bush “popularity” after 911 was indeed manufactured support aided and abetted by the media. That’s a ‘from the top down’ ’stick-by-your-leader’ type of support. Totally artificial, but sadly, it does work. That’s what we get for living in an Idiocracy kind of world…
-TL2Q
@TL2Q
Well, if you saw it on TV then it must be true eh?
@ Christine: RT is also on TV and I watch the hell of that too. So, your point is… what?!
–
I’m not 100% sure if this is the same documentary I watched, but the info is the same as I remember it, so it could be:
Bobby Kennedy ordered Marilyn Monroe’s murder by lethal injection
“[,,] Bobby did not act alone. He had co-conspirators in her murder – his brother-in-law, actor Peter Lawford, and Marilyn’s psychiatrist, Dr. Ralph Greenson who gave the star a fatal injection of pentobarbital to the heart.
Those are the explosive allegations detailed in a blockbuster new book by writers Jay Margolis, a long-time investigative reporter and Monroe expert, and Richard Buskin, a New York Times bestselling author of 30 non- fiction books.”

TPT once were killed off the Kennedy’s but love the Bush dynasty, who is now shoving Jeb at us….Bush & Clinton’s beat the Kennedy’s at lack of scruples.
@ Virginia: It’s shades of grey, isn’t it? At the end of the day, at such high levels of the hierarchy, non of them have our best interests at heart at all.
But I do agree with you on Jeb vs Hillary, it’s like the AVP film slogan: “Alien vs Predator: Whoever Wins… We Lose” …or if you’re not a geek like me; “heads they win, tails we lose”
PCR has much experience and a good memory but I think he’s a bit too emotional and egotistic which clouds his judgement. On Reagan for example. Also he misreads Putin: Putin could never surrender and live himself; Russia’s history with Napoleon and Hitler contradicts surrender. He doesn’t seem to be current with the awakened Russian public either. Washington is not mentally insane; however it is morally insane. It may take a calculated risk in nuclear war. I think he also misses an Israeli Achilles heel; he thinks Russia is warning Europe that it will be hit but what about Israel? Israel is a tiny place and could be wiped out; Russia must know Jewish power in Washington, so why wouldn’t they warn Israel that they would be wiped out?
I personally think spiritual forces will have the final say based on a whole picture we cannot see. One thing is certain: we are going to die one way or another. What is uncertain is how we will do it. According to some religious thought, God will not destroy the world again by water. But that leaves fire. “When the cities are on fire with the burning flesh of men, just remember that death is not the end.” (Dylan). “Death will have his day.” (Shakespeare). I’m already 75 so my days are numbered, but oh, my son, he’s 22. More at thelovegovernment.com.
I like your observation that “Washington is not mentally insane; however it is morally insane.”
This seems to me to be a profound distinction. Cognitive dissonance rules, while animal cunning in a 3-piece suit rigorously maintains the calculus necessary to operate in the world. Something like that. You could probably say it better.
Since I’m replying to your comment, I will add that I have always assumed that Israel knows that Europe includes Israel, if it comes to a nuclear confrontation between Russia and the US. Russia maintains strong relations with Israel, and many Russia immigrants are there. Unless there is a need to say a thing, Russia doesn’t seem to volunteer it. This might not be the case though, and I would welcome other thoughts on this.
Hi Dennis… the next cataclysm is not supposed to happen for another 7000 years. And then it will be ‘The War of All Against All’ In other words. egotism. But its trying to be born prematurely. Mankind is in a bottleneck. If we can get around this next century, I think its going to get better.
In your next life, hopefully people like your son, will have fixed things, because humanity finally figured out that the spiritual world needs to be invoked in a good way, to help.
If people like Rumsfeld believed in reincarnation, they might behave differently.
I have enjoyed and learned a lot, thank you.

There is another article I run onto in the last day or so but cannot find it at the moment.
Joel Harding is not only a rabid but intellectually challenged predatory troll allegedly on the payroll of neo-Nazis: http://russia-insider.com/en/politics/brig-gen-joel-harding-natos-troll-king-and-neo-nazi-extraordinaire-part-iii/ri16370,

“I think Putin is humane enough to surrender rather than to be part of the destruction of the world” – what a strange thing to say. Putin is humane enough NOT to surrender to the dictates of the Washington regime and will do what Russian people expect of him, that is to defend Russia at all costs, and this is precisly why the criminals in Washington are scared. Russia will not surrender Paul, have no doubts.
Well said. Russia will never surrender, and we will FIGHT.
And BLOOD has to be repaid by BLOOD !
” Russians believe all the Western bullshit about “freedom and democracy” and believe that they are short on both but making progress. In other words, Russians have no idea that they are targeted for destruction.”
Paul is a few years behind on Russia. Very few Russians are left who stil believe the bs about “freedom and democracy”. On the contrary Russians are quite aware and know the evil their are facing.
I think he was talking about media and elite people he has met in Russia (i.e.5th column liberals). I doubt he’s met many real regular Russian citizens. Even many of the Russian media and business elite I hear.Seem to have a vibe about them that says “pro-West”. Western propaganda has done “a number” on much of the world, including Russia.I’m glad people are finally waking up there to the truth, before its too late.
Giving people a fair warning is not a threat.
It is to make sure a person or a group of people understand that the continuation of certain, specified activities will have consequences.
For example; Denmark will host parts of the US Defense Shield – Russia, ‘OK. Do understand however, that such an act makes you part of possible sites we might have to attack…”
MSM will barf all over its pages, “Russia threatens to nuke Denmark… of all places….”
Russia and China fight asymmetrical wars. No threats. Money, investments, art, culture and a lot of soft power to get to where they want.
Is the US going to build those train tracks from China to Portugal?
I hope Russia and China cooperate together and pry the EU loose from Unca Sammy’s stranglehold. The Empire needs a bloody nose, without the loss of blood.
Saker, you’re the best. This is the best interview I’ve ever seen.
Say it to Mr. Paul Craig Roberts
well, before I came here I used to try emailing PCR, but he didn’t like my comments and dis-abled me from commenting again…so no, I won’t be saying it to PCR.
He doesn’t like talk about God and the spiritual worlds. Saker is much more even-tempered and tolerant and well, frankly, Chrisitan, than him.
Saker, your question about why the people who run Washington are on a collision course with Russia…Catherine Austin Fitts talks about underground cities…and cities under the ocean.
Catherine Austin Fitts talks about some pretty cool stuff, like the underground cities for the elites. How about exopolitics? Is that too kooky crazy to talk about? Hope not.
I asked Dr Judy Wood about what’s his name…exopolitics guy Lambert the third or whatever…she couldn’t stand him. So I avoid that guy…its really weird. And what Catherine says about all this pedophilia accusations that Lambert is always accusing the Queen of…is that its a topic that is used to undermine any strategy that is unwanted. I agree with Catherine most of the time.
Thank you for interesting interview. Mr. Paul Craig Roberts – one of the very few voices in US that i have respect for. It seems to me that he is a honest man and a true patriot, unlike those who care only about money and power even if it causes war, destruction and prospect of thermonuclear war. Respect and gratitude to mr. Roberts.
Saker, when you see that map from 1990 that I sent…its exactly the configuration that Russia, China and Europe really have today…there’s no way that ‘Washington’ is insane and doesn’t know what its doing…but ‘Washington’ is not the boss. “Mr. Global” is what Catherine calls it…Washington is also a puppet.
And Hilary Clinton will not be president. This whole email scandal was obviously manufactured to prevent her from winning. The Ukraine Oligarch money too.
Ann, I tend to disagree that the email scandal is going to sink Hillary’s campaign. This came out very early in the election cycle (almost 18 months prior to voting day) — if someone was looking to influence the outcome of the election, they would either need much redder meat, or would wait until much closer to the election in order to try to throw it a percentage point or two. It may in fact have been her own campaign or the DLC or some such that got it out there early so that it could be extinguished well in advance.
To my mind, Hillary is the ideal candidate for Deep State interests. She is divisive domestically (along identity politics lines) but toes the neolib (finance) and neocon (foreign policy/military) line to a tee. Perfect — keep the internal masses distracted, meanwhile continue to pursue the same, ultimately disastrous imperial policy. Not that Jeb et. al. couldn’t do the same, but perhaps not to the same degree having been in the public eye for so much longer.
Back to the topic of the post, it would be wonderful if this level of dialogue was more readily available and disseminated in the U.S. (and elsewhere), but I will not hold my breath for that to happen.
Hi Hamstak…thanks for your comment. I think deep state, or at least part of deep state doesn’t want Hillary to blow up the world.
Thank you for this interview! Love what PCR had to say, however, I feel like the “behind the scene” or “the invisible side of power” subject could’ve been explored a bit more. Evidently, there is so much more happening below the surface and PCR is uniquely positioned to have an in depth knowledge about the puppet masters, and the masters if this whole US theater.
To PCR or someone else who could explain: why “Putin should encourage Europe to break off from NATO in order to prevent World War 3?” Europe appears to balance out the US within NATO to a certain extent by being a hostage of Russians because of its proximity to Russia. If Europe breaks off from NATO, Ruskies will not be able to keep Europe hostages and have the EU play against the US in the ultimate threat of nuclear war.
The EU is a US colony. All European media is 100% CIA controlled. If France, Italy, Germany want to survive as sovereign nations, they have to pull themselves out of the EU and NATO. Not because of the USA or because of Russia, but for themselves.
Your problem is your not dealing with the USA but with the Confederate States of America. The Neo-Cons-Confederates with their northern Copperheads allies seek to enslave the World. Their your old nemesis the Norsemen rebranded Normans hiding behind their fronts the Anglo-Saxon-Jutes who they enslave in 1066.
Interesting comments. No one is discussing the radioactive fallout on the northern hemisphere from Fukushima, it’s effects upon the Pacific ocean food chain and its current toxic rain upon all of us. No matter who was responsible for this FUBAR, you darn better well hope/pray and envision that that your DNA has plenty of creative adaptability. This problem is immediate and very few people are aware of the issues.
PCR: Thanks for your courage.
The Saker,
Thank you for bringing PCR to answer this particular set of questions. On the key question, whether Israel controls USA politics, or vice versa, his answer – “I have never seen any evidence that the US controls Israel” – is not satisfactory, although the evidence quoted is true as far as the Middle East policy goes and anything else that may affect Israel adversely. Perhaps, this is all he wants to say.
If I were to ask him, my question would be what kind of leverage or credible treat, does the deep state of Israel, or much more accurately the Zionist International, have on the deep state of USA to be able to so dramatically force US government to act against its own best interests.
The reason is that it is not the first time Israel is using leverage to force the change in US foreign policy. For example, John Loftus and Mark Aarons describe in their book, The Secret War Against Jews, subtitled, How Western Espionage Betrayed Jewish People (published in 1994), how Ben-Gurion in 1947/1948 blackmailed both N. Rockefeller (in control of the votes of South American States) and Stalin (in control of votes of all communist states) to dramatically change voting pattern in UN for partitioning British Palestine. And this leveraging goes back to at least Balfour declaration and entrance of US into WWI.
The only time I have seen US didn’t change its foreign policy was during Eisenhower time, in 1956 war, when he forced Ben-Gurion to completely withdraw from Sinai peninsula.
Regards, Spiral
Spiral, your “zionist international” is based in UK, not in Israel.
Sorry, not only in the UK.
Regards, Spiral
@T2015
o here we go again. Don’t blame Israel for its atrocities. It’s the brits. o yea … I remember…it’s the Vatican….rrright
It’s never that “only democratic nation in the Middle East’s fault” rrright.
And of course that Rothschild “accountant” is also blameless rrright.
Christine
Don’t the Rothschilds own 80% of the land of Occupied Palestine/’Israel’? Which resolves the either/or issue.
Have to read up on the Suez Crisis – I am sure that’s where the origins of political Anglo-Zionism lie.
@ Eimar CLark,
agreed. Thank you
Christine
Christine, yes, here we go again with internet legends and fairy tales. And as always with zero substantial proof or anything from you, just the usual rinse, repeat,…
Several Rothschilds were heads of Bank of England etc., but all of those institutions belong to the empire. Also several of them were knighted, which shows they are the subjects of the empire. That is a TITLE in the official HIERARCHY.
Of course your favorite Rothschild was a papal knight of Malta and a german impostor anyway, so the above is not even relevant.
Surely the two bloodiest and biggest empires in history, who destroyed whole nations without blinking, have at some point just said “ok, we quit now, let those handful of jews there take over”. Yep. LSD is a hell of a drug y’know.
@ T2015,
Do not forget that money changes hands, occasionally, and it is money that matters – that is, money is real, basic, while titles are just superstructure.
@T2015
typical zionist troll. What does LSD have to do with topic? Legends? Fairy Tales? The only reason I even bother to respond to Syanim is to point out your agenda to the community. This community does not need to be reminded of the Rothschild evil…so I leave you to expose yourself some more.
I repeat: Hamas Baaad
I rinse: Rothschild Gooood
… and “Knighted” too…..So was Elton John…go figure Was Jimmy Saville Knighted?….what does it all mean? If, as you say, it is not relevant ..than why even mention it?
Christine
To Moderators: I thought Saker outlawed all caps? Isn’t that screaming?
If you suspect a troll, stop feeding it instead of calling it out. An OCCASIONAL word in caps for emphasis is ok.
Christine, stop putting words into my mouth that I never said. That is how trolling is defined.
Simplified for you, I said:
Hamas – terrorists created as a splinter group of the egyptian Moslem Brotherhood
Rothschild – irrelevant, he’s lower rank and just a distraction to help the agents like you kill any serious discussion
Israeli government – criminals and murderers serving their british masters
Jews in Israel – prisoners of the aforementioned government
Palestinians – prisoners of both the aforementioned government and the Hamas
I hope you are able to process the simple lines above. I indeed DO agree that the Israeli government are criminals , thus calling me a “sayanim” is outright ridiculous. I’m simply making a difference between the government and the Jews as a whole. And I’m after real facts instead of swallowing every unsubstantiated bullshit from those controlled, mostly nazi-apologist blogs you’ve been reading.
Oh and LSD – it has a lot to do with hallucinating stuff.
Dear Saker
Why don’t you or the Russian media call these all parties in NATO countries
pro-American parties because EUobserver newspapers is using such terminology in case with Poland
New pro-Russia party emerges in Poland
https://euobserver.com/beyond-brussels/128075
Other pro-Russia voices
Both Jablonski and Chwedoruk believe the likelihood of Zmiana getting a foothold in the Polish parliament in the October elections is small. There is a 5 percent hurdle to clear to get into the assembly.
But Zmiana is not the only pro-Russia voice on the country’s political scene.
Jan Tomaszewski, a newly elected MP for Civic Platform, the PM’s centre-right party, recently said there is no Russian involvement in eastern Ukraine and that the whole conflict is “[Ukraine president] Poroshenko’s fault” because he wants to “lead Europe to World War III”.
I agree with you.It would be more truthful and maybe get people to think if every time those groups were labeled pro-American.The MSM would go berserk. But that is a good think to me.So when describing Cameron as an example he would be “the pro-American British PM,”or “Poland’s pro-American government ” when mentioning them, etc, etc. The Western media is filled with their little tricks of mind-control.By calling the NAF “pro-Russian separatists” ,they try to de-legitimize them to anyone reading their articles. And it works more than not for them.We should turn the tables on them every chance we get.
This part:
“The Federal Reserve is there for the banks, mainly the large ones. The Federal Reserve was created as lender of last resort to prevent banks from failing because of runs on the bank or withdrawal of deposits.”
… is some hardcore disinfo bull. This is THE big lie.
Don’t forget that he was a part of the government and basically still is in the club! That’s why he is selling the line “it’s not the government, it’s the FED”. That is pure nonsense. The FED and the government are the same thing.
The FED is there to *CONTROL* all banks and it’s there as a source of free cash for the government, the free checkbook financed by the taxpayer. Double plus interest.

Ok, now I read enough.
Not a single word about the british Empire (today Commonwealth). He even claims that UK is a vassal of the US – that’s simply some crazy stuff.
Not one word about the Vatican empire or about the fact that all states and all laws are based on roman church laws. Or that Vatican’s agents still are playing a major role in world affairs.
And then I finally disengaged when he came with the red herring of “Israel controls USA”. Like Israel was anything more than a british colony, now as then.
Mr. Roberts, you are a very shameless liar and by claiming such ridiculous things you are outing yourself as a part of the fraud and an agent of the empire (no, not your fictional “american” one).
Case closed for me, one more person/homepage for my personal blacklist.
ok, but in complete disagreement with you. It takes a part for the total, the tail for the entire elephant.
And it takes a mind-reading device to understand what you’re actually trying to say here. Can you be more precise? What exactly do you not agree about? What is a part, what is a total? What does it have to do with any elephants?
“Or that Vatican’s agents still are playing a major role in world affairs.”
It annoys me when people type generalities like this. I’d like to see some real truth, hard facts, associated with such a sweeping and fundamentally false assertion.
It is not the Vatican who wanted war with Syria — the Vatican worked hard to prevent it. It’s not the Vatican who wants war between nations — that would be Israel and the US.
However, perhaps I am mistaken. Perhaps you have solid evidence of Vatican “agents playing a major role in world affairs” today — outside of their theological work, which sometimes crosses into social welfare issues and economics (some Catholics favor a more distributionist approach to economies, for example).
I wonder if this anon is PCR…just a guess. Yes I would like to see proof, although I think T2015 might be right. the Jesuits are much more secretive than the masons. Much more disciplined and well hidden. I do think they are still manipulating stuff. Catherine Austin Fitts covers the Vatican briefly in her lecture at the Secret Space Program…she said the Vatican worked with the CIA to get rid of Italian leader…not too many years ago, perhaps during Dulles time. I guess there are released documents or she wouldn’t say such a thing. Check out the lecture…just google her name and the secret space program…full lecture…
Well a recent example would be the strong support for Croatian nazis in the 90’s where my former country (Yugoslavia) was destroyed. That is fairly well documented, as is the same such support during the world war 2.
It was real and I was living there myself, no second-hand accounts here.
Alas regarding history, here’s a good start for you, please DO bother reading it all, including all the linked and mentioned sources:
http://tenc.net/vatican.htm
Another important one I forgot is the fact that all our worldly laws are still based on the “divine” right of Vatican to own(!) this earth as a “representative of God”. All our countries are either monarchies (Kings rule as per “god’s will” and only the church gives them legitimacy) or successors of such, including the definition of borders. All only legitimized by “God’s blessing” from Vatican.
Also the whole current international BAR system (centered in UK) is based on that. In case you don’t know, every lawyer and judge belongs to that club. Even Magna Carta was what we would today call an “executive order” of the King, it goes all the way back to old Romans. Basically it’s all a big fallacy.
Just one jewel from there:
“Not only did Pope John Paul II politically rescue Yasser Arafat after his disastrous August 1982 defeat in Lebanon, but in 1994 the PLO was given a special office in the Vatican itself.”
http://tenc.net/pressure.htm
Arafat, you know that “Palestinian” guy – who was an imported Egyptian and who was a youth in the nazi army of “Grand Mufti of Jerusalem” Al-Hosseini. The guy who created the moslem nazi brigade Handjar in Bosnia during the WW2 and was later rescued by the – you’ll guess – british.
Here’s a working link:
http://emperors-clothes.com/vatican/pressure.htm
oh, so you did not see Netanyahu speak in USA last few days and the congressional audience stand in rapturous applause………….and never understood about the deliberately sexed up report by Uk politicians re Iraq’s WMD’s?
You are in absolute complete denial.
PCR argues that the Russians do not realise that the US power elites are essentially insane and want to destroy them. I think that this is true of ordinary Russians but I have no doubt that Putin and the Russian leadership are fully aware. A fascinating interview that succinctly outlines the state of play in an increasingly dangerous game.
Great interview, Saker!
“… if Russia can find the wits to finance Greece, Italy, and Spain in exchange for them leaving the Euro and EU, the empire would suffer a fatal blow.”
A blow, but not fatal.
Germany + France, that would be another story. Germany will not act in isolation.
My paranoia is getting out of hand.German air crash in France travelling from Spain.
don’t travel that’s my motto
Stratfor Founder: Russia “can endure things that would break other nations”
Throughout 2014 and into 2015, Russia has been under relentless assault by the Western elite who have engaged ineconomic, strategic and information warfare in a bid to force regime change in Moscow, a fact that is well documented by this point. What has been less well documented is the ability of the Russian people to withstand such tremendous economic hardships and full-frontal assaults down through history, whilst still remaining a strong and cohesive people. Russia is a one of the most unique countries on the planet who has responded to sanctions and demonization in a way no other country could have. Overthrowing the Russian government is a far greater challenge to the West than ousting any other regime on earth, a challenge that has as much chance of boomeranging and fracturing the West as it has of being successful.
http://journal-neo.org/2015/03/23/stratfor-founder-russia-can-endure-things-that-would-break-other-nations/
see the cartoon:

Some specific points were brilliantly explained as cause and effect. Or as major factors linking the hardest chain of dominance ever known or built up in the world.
yes, agree, Russia should make Europe aware beyond any doubt they would have no choice other than erase Europe out of the map. But also make aware that it would be Europe + Israel at the same time and automatically.
“The Russian media does not understand that Russia is unacceptable, because Russia is not a US vassal. Russians believe all the Western bullshit about “freedom and democracy” and believe that they are short on both but making progress. In other words, Russians have no idea that they are targeted for destruction.”
That’s not true. I live in Moscow and believe me, all Russians are fully aware of USA intentions towards Russia. Our media scream about USA wanting to destroy us. We ready for war.
I agree with you 100% Russian AK. I am not Russian but my wife is. We analyze news and discuss world events every day, especially now.
I watched several speeches from Putin, Lavrov and others. These gentlemen are very cautious in their words but several times the curtain went down and the internal fire was clearly visible. We also have relatives and friends from Russia.
The conclusion is clear: Russians know what is coming at them and they are ready.
I am not Russian, but from what I have seen the media in Russia informs the people quite well. Like the open discussions on various political subjects with people even with hostile views, or the interviews with Putin with global media journalists on mainstream tv. So Russian people are well informed and know exactly what is going on. They don’t have a bought and payed for one sided mainstream media like we in the West have.
Yeah , and in this line , watch a TV debate with top-notch Russian political scientists :

The Saker PCR exchange plus comments have more than piqued my interest. I think it boils down to motivation. Who has the drive to control the world, dating back to who knows when? Who other than deeply religious people, from the light or dark side? Religion simply means “to tie back” into a source. The roots of our modern age tie back into religion for sure. It’s still the case. Russia gets her strength from Orthodoxy. Zionists from the Patriarchs of the bible who gave patriarchy its name. Secularism from the religion of reason. Atheism as the religion of the negation of God.
But why belabor the obvious? It takes tremendous energy and focus to rule the world, built up over millenia. Call religion what you will: God, Nature, Money, Science, Knowledge, Power, Spirit. Chameleon like, religion adapts to the times. Don’t misunderstand. There’s unity, duality, trinity and so on. In other words there has always been forces of darkness and light; without falling into the trap of only dualism.
Ann may be right about the 7000 year thing. I mean we’re dealing with vast spaces and reaches of time. And it’s one holism so this time and space is just as important as any other. Right now we’re sensing the two mighty opposites of Love and Power jockeying for position. In one respect, we’re “just pawns in their game,” but from another we are Love and Power.
Let’s say the Saker and the Eagle (American) are perched on mountains eyeing each other. “To be or not to be, that’s the question.” This is not playing chicken since sakers and eagles don’t play those kind of games. No, “The last thing I remember before I stripped and kneeled was that trainload of fools bogged down in a magnetic field. A gypsy with a broken flag and a flashing ring said, son, this ain’t a dream no more, it’s the real thing.” “Senor, senor, do you know where we’re headen’, Lincoln county road or armageddon?” (Dylan). As for me, I choose the real thing. More at thelovegovernment.com. Thanks.
While PCR certainly has a great understanding of things “Washington”, and in a very pessimistic manner, I believe his ranking of the most influential in the Washington Consensus is mistaken.
The large defense contractors, the very treasury department of government, while very powerful within the halls of power are corporations that can only operate with a constant and large liquidity stream of money. If the ancestral owners of the large banks, and by that virtue all the central banks of the NATO west, and therefore the international banks like the IMF,WB,BIS and substructures like the WTO decide that money will be restricted to defense contractors that sector will wither over night. The fact that this power is not overtly seen or exercised does not diminish the omnipotent power of owning the money supply;then controlling every major aspect of a modern civilized society, from interest rates to whether or not a depression is caused the next Tuesday after today. All others derive their power from here down. The large banks have stock holders that own these banks and that information is a well guarded secret. These generational oligarchs are the masters of the west with feelers and tentacles reaching everywhere. They determine whether or not this blog can get published or not if push came to shove; but even the bankers know there is one power greater than theirs, that of the people united, and so they must manipulate that power to their own interests.
“…and in a very pessimistic manner” (referring to PCR)

Can you identify one thing he should be positive about from Washington? I would love to know it!
Who is in control?
Follow the money… the biggest malinvestment which drives the debt crisis is the outrageous porkbarrel spending on the military/security apparatus.
Who are you not allowed to criticize?
Same MIC and the Israel lobby.
So, Eisenhower was right, warning his fellow Americans against the military-industrial/security complex after all! But either they did not understand, they did not listen or they could not care less… Hence today’s results.
I want to draw the attention of readers to Agribusiness being considered here as one of “the most powerful of the private interest groups”… We seem to most often forget how fundamental to survival of world populations Agribusiness is and what a powerful “weapon” it can become in the hands of the berserk.
— Louis Robert
Read this morning on the Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten (DWN) that IMF is expecting a haircut on the debts that are due this year by Ukraine to Russia. They are talking about restructuring and a 50% haircut. Debt is due this December, but Ukraine cannot pay it back because they are spending 3.8 billion dollars on weapons and armament.
But Greece, Greece is to pay back at 100%.
I suspect the debts of Ukraine to Russia will never be paid as long as the US calls the shots. I also think the Mistrals will never be delivered AND there is a good chance the French will not return the money they were paid, or will drag the process out forever.
ADDENDUM: To determine who is at the apex of the power pyramid in the west ask the question who is driving what agenda that then marshals all of the west’s institutions to those ends. Does Lockheed Martin tell the Federal Reserve and Treasury what its policies will be or does LM follow along in the banker’s wake? Who owns L.M.? Is L.M. ultimately held and owned by a banking holding company? Three Swiss mathematicians did an analysis of who owns and controls what economically in the world today and came up with 147 super entities all inter connected by their boards that either own or control 40% of the world’s international corporations and 60% of the world’s revenues. Most of the very top of these 147 corporations are bank holding companies. There is no reason to believe that their power has diminished either before or since that study.
I looked here, & they even have a recent Mar 22 diagram of the Clingons, & LO there’s LM named right in there!
site has great web diagrams showing who/what major corps the muckymucks front & pimp for..

Good point IMSHO.
dear BRF. please watch this video of Catherine Austin Fitts. Its all in there.

As Dmitry Orlov so aptly put it, “We have closed the hated-evil-empire gap.”
Good interview, Saker. PCR analysis is spot-on.
This is a fantastic interview. It’s too bad that PCR barred comments on OpedNews, where it was also published.
Having lived in half a dozen European countries, espcially France, and having written the only book that foresaw the reunification of Europe AND the dissolution of the Soviet Union (‘Une autre Europe, un autre Monde’) in which I suggested that Europe should throw off American hegemony for a relationship of equals with the other giants of Eurasia (Russia, China, India, and the Middle East), I believe PCR has, in this interview, dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s. It should be required reading for anyone who wants to understand the world today, and you, Saker, put American born and educated intellectuals to shame for the questions you chose.
PCR wouldn’t have barred the comments, rather the editor of the OpEd?
I used to frequent opednews some years back, but left when Rob Kall banned posts with references to Israel history, and use of the word zionism — which he later amended with a direction to carefully consider using the word (self censorship). I don’t know if this has changed because I didn’t go back there except on rare occasions when a link sent me there, and don’t have a good feeling about the site, or the need to register there.
Very interesting. Thank you both. May Truth and Justice prevail.

The Saker’s list is interesting for who it leaves out.
thanks so much for reporting this interview
PCR states in the interview that Israel controls ZUSA, or at least in so far as its mid-east policies.
I recommend a few books which go into great detail and demonstrate this is indeed the case.

Excerpt:
Another good one is ‘The Power of Israel in the United States’ by prof.James Petras. He takes Chomsky the gatekeeper to the woodshed in chapter 13 ‘noam Chomsky and the pro-israel lobby: 15 erroneous theses’.
The now classic ‘The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy’ by John J. Mearsheimer and Stephen M. Walt.
Although I admire Dr. Roberts for his valued and I think honest and brave opinion he does seem to have a blind spot when it come to the Reagan administration. This is understandable given his high ranking position in it.
During the Reagan administration the large WWII battleship USS Missouri was taken out of mothballs and ultimately used to turn Beirut into rubble. Before this, in the 1970’s, Beirut had been one of the leading cosmopolitan cities of the world, mentioned as a culture and fashion center to rival Paris and London.
Tel Aviv and Jerusalem would hardly have been considered worth visiting at the time, unless one was interested in joining a kibbutz or to see the holy sites of the three Abrahamic ( Semitic ) religions.
Sorry, I should have checked my facts, wrong battleship. It was the New Jersey that was engaged in shelling Beirut. along with several other US naval ships and planes. Also the French, British and Italian forces were involved. Reagan signed the order on September 11, 1983.
Can someone explain how first strike option work? And why it would be effective?
For example, when I think about a missile being shot, because of the distance it needs to cover, say from the US to Russia, Russia satellite would detect it.
Now if the missiles come from Europe, again Russia satellites would detect it, no?
If it detects it, then Russia should be able to launch its own missiles.
First strike only works if the other country has not nuclear missiles to launch, but if it does, once it detects missiles coming their way, then they should be able to strike back, and those missiles should be able to hit their target.
I am assuming that US believes that the distance from the strike (war occurring in Europe and Russia) would keep it safe, but we do not know where the submarine with nuclear warheads are located, so they would likely be free to shoot at US. And if Russia is able to get planes off the ground, then its aim should be to make it to the US.
In a nuclear war there are no winners.
Unless, the US is thinking Russia will not strike back. That Putin is too compassionate a leader.
What Russia has been working on is, detect that missile coming their way and SHOOT IT so it can’t do any harm.
What they do next is up to them. They COULD take the patient line,. pick up the phone and say “we’ve just shot down 8 out of 8 of your missiles, if you send any more we’ll have to send one too”.
Or send one to show they mean business, but keep human damage to the minimum, by nuking a US warship (aircraft carrier better). “Next one is Washington/New York/whatever”.
There is also the small problem that quite a lot of other countries have nukes, and they might get jumpy or see some kind of chance for something.
I suspect Russia’s last lot of little satellites are able to kill all the US ones up there, which would be a game changer as it would affect aiming the “first strike” ones.
I hope you are right…

Nuclear blackmail and the probability of a nuclear apocalypse
is a decent article
One pertinent point made:
“That night the unusually high position of the clouds resulted in one of 4 satellites, watching the skies over the U.S., issuing a false alarm. And only logic and calm of Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Petrov, who decided to accept the responsibility, averted the disaster. At the critical moment he realized that if the missile attack would occur, it would occur not just from one launch pad.”
So when you said “For example, when I think about a missile being shot” that wouldn’t happen — a first strike would necessitate a huge volley of missiles, which would be easily detected and responded too by a huge network of counterstrike missiles all over the world. A single or just a few first strikes would have no chance of disarming the target nation, which would then retaliate, and a flurry would have no chance of not being detected and MAD nuclear obliteration of the world occurring.
But also note the probability of a nuclear holocaust occurring through error — which has almost happened many times in the past. I haven’t watched this video at http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article41340.htm yet but I’ll guess Chomsky relates events concerning this again here.
Well-focused interview. To shift the focus slightly however begs the question: how does the Israeli/Zionist force obtain such power? When one reads the likes of award-winning journalist Douglas Reed’s ‘The Controversy of Zion’; Monsignor Dillon’s ‘Grand Orient Freemasonry Unmasked’ and Leon de Poncins’ ‘Freemasonry and the Vatican’ one begins to perceive the historical connections between communism, freemasonry and Zionism – there is a certain chronological synchronisation. It does not take much of a stretch to see the Neo-Con as an extension. There needs to be no ‘conspiracy’ but merely an uncanny correspondence for evil and subversive intent – and this is the reason for all secret societies, no matter how benign, or amusing, they may publicly appear. They are the ‘glue’ which facilitates the slow social degradation, disintegration which now allows Western society’s incapability of understanding its own demise because of its very philosophical denial of the higher spiritual powers of both evil and of good – a false philosophy brought about by these self-same peddlers of corruption.

I do not agree with putting communism among all evils, as you say. Communism is not the same as the other ‘isms’, as it imply the end of capitalism – it is about another economic system, as as such it has not yet been achieved.
Having said that, the USSR tried to survive after the Revolution, but there was too much boycott and Western capitalist propaganda around, which eventually distorted it and destroyed it… Now, as PCR points out, the ex-USSR social formation has become a threat to capital, as they have values that confront capitalist values.
I am wondering lately if the US has developed weapons more powerful, or less contaminating than nuclear? The unbridled belligerence, the bold lies, it doesn´t add up if we only include known weapon systems.
Also, about the Oklahoma City Bombing, all of the fraudulent mortgage loan papers were stored there for region 6, as Catherine Austin Pitts points out in her lecture on the financial coup détat last year in Menlo Park at the secret space conference. Lots of fraud was also covered up at Pentagon and WTT on 9/11.
I still don’t get it. I mean, how many more armaments are the dealers going to be selling after a global thermonuclear war?!
Normally, when I see those in power doing apparently moronic things, it resolves fairly easily if you ask who benefits. Once you realize that there are people with concentrated money and power whose objective is to get more, and who don’t believe in long term plans but in the power of incremental compound interest (ie, if I want more and get more NOW, I can use that to get still more tomorrow, and so on, and it doesn’t matter how many of the stepping stones get crushed on the way) everything becomes not too hard to untangle.
But nuclear war isn’t a gradual problem way in the future and it burns all the stepping stones–not just the one you’re finished with and stepping off, but all the ones in front that you were hoping to step onto. How can so-called elites be this stupid, this . . . automated in their thinking?
That’s why I maintain that there will be and cannot be any nuclear or major war. The Imperial system thrives on threats not major war. It is only interested in wars against very weak enemies not Iran, Russia, or China. It’s interest is in continuing to steal tax money from the State.
While I admire PCR and I agree with him on many things, he has a serious blind spot. He is “puzzled” about *why* our masters are doing what they’re doing because he doesn’t understand the nature of evil. The nature of evil is to destroy, and that’s all there is to it. Evil is insatiable, and it always destroys everything that it touches, eventually including itself.
Our Masters do what they do because they’re evil, not because of the “armaments industry”. The answers are all in the bible.
No. The nature of evil is to create and cause harm and suffering. Problem is that a lot of people can’t believe that evil is real, or rather, that there really are evil entities. It’s the same as how ‘normal’ people (who possess a conscience) have difficulty believing that there are psychopaths (who lack a conscience).
Augustine of Hippo came up with the idea that evil is simply the lack of goodness, a false doctrine which followed from his belief in the absolute goodness of his God. Christians have never managed to solve “the problem of evil”. Only if the reality of evil is accepted is it possible to oppose it. Only when it is recognized that the core of the Empire is evil is it possible to muster the will to destroy it (rather than to live with it in some way).
First, what do you mean by “no”; “no” to what, exactly? Second, the nature of evil is to “destroy”, not to “create”.
Lastly, you apparently don’t understand Christianity. Evil is an end itself; therefore, good (God) is also an end in itself. There is no “problem of evil” in Christianity, there is only a lack of proper understanding, which you demonstrate. If God was to allow free will, then he had to also allow evil. Put another way, if there was no “evil” there could be no “good”; just like if there was no “hot” there could be no “cold”, if there was no “negative” there could be no “positive”.
Evil’s only necessity is to destroy itself… and that is why “they” do what they do.
Frightening conclusion but there is some possible light:
1. Obama has stated he is out to crash the dollar. What better way to accelerate the process than by acting obnoxious on the world stage and let the neocons hoist themselves.
2. US elites would get a lot richer RELATIVELY if the middle class was destroyed by a dollar crash. Right now 18 year old hotties in the US can resist the advances of old billionaires because McDonald’s pays enough to get by and sleep with druggies their own age. Vast relative wealth would give the billionaires more personal.power especially if they really want to be sexually predatory. The elites are not totally tied to dollars like 99 percent of the rest of Americans now are. I have warned my relatives but they do not know how to diversify out of the dollar. The elites are surely doing so and preparing for much more inequality that they can enjoy. Thus they can be looking forward to a dollar crash which would be much more fun than a possible nuclear war, especially if they can blame the dollar crash on foreign enemies who “brought us down”.
3. Someone high up planned those three cauldrons.
4. If they really wanted to defeat Russia they would have done so by pulling SWIFT prius last summer before Russia had their own interbank system. It seems like someone in the west was prodding the Russians to wake up and defend themselves, giving them mulligans even.
The US elites can make a killing by losing this Ukraine thing on purpose and then devaluing the dollar while keeping private citizen debts at the old dollar value (but the national debt would be reduced by the.amount of devaluation. On the markets you would get the masses to expect things to go well whole you invest in puts and in Russia and China.
Very interesting interview, thanks to Roberts and to the Saker.
Several points of disagreement, but the most important is this one: the risk that US leadership would start a nuclear war against Russia.is as remote as one could wish it. That is not going to happen, no matter whether Washington likes or does not like Russia’s foreign policy options.
The reason is easy enough to grasp: for nuclear deterrence to work and stop a potential adversary from threatening what is really vital to the attacked party, it is not necessary for that adversary to be moral. A mere assumption of him being not suicidal is enough. And sorry, the idea that private interest groups or national leaders would have a death wish and be looking for an opportunity to commit suicide in a spectacular way… is just totally irreal.
The claim of a US ability to win nuclear war against Russia by surprise first strike was made in a famed study by two neocons in 2006. Even at that time, the study was highly controversial, not to say absurd, because it made several unreasonable assumptions:
– that Russian mobile ICBMs would all be at base, none of them escaping preventive destruction
– that all Russian fixed ICBMs would be destroyed by direct thermonuclear hits on their silos, which would have been by no mean guaranteed
Moreover, this is now 2015. Russia has now resumed permanent patrol by its SSBNs. Just like France or Britain, Russia has one or two of those SSBNs constantly at sea and protected from preventive strike, while a single of those SSBNs would be enough to destroy comprehensively the three US metropolis (NY + LA + Chicago) which is sure to be frightening enough to stop any US leader or interest group in its tracks. The claim that US could succeed disarming Russia in a first strike is no longer merely dubious to the point of absurdity, it’s fully and undeniably absurd.
There won’t be any US nuclear strike on Russia. There won’t even be US troops conquering Donbass for the sake of the Kiev regime.
The fears and hysterias – sorry to be blunt, but that’s the correct word – about coming US war against Russia, entertained and instrumentalized as they are by Russian TV channels, are just baseless fears.
I have the utmost respect for PCR because he understands the world of Washington very well. However, I believe the main driver of the hubris he describes is personal ambition of individuals within the power elite for both power and money.
As PCR describes it there are no single powerful figures, rather representatives of various very powerful factions who, together, form an emergent intelligent network that acts as if it had some kind of central “plan” but actually doesn’t. Once the situation comes very close to real war the system moves around that obstacle–the system does not want war it wants its own survival and the earth’s survival like any good parasite.
It doesn’t really see the Russians or anyone else as enemies–the real focus of the system is on the American people and their pathetic willingness to transfer their income into the pockets of the rich oligarchs–the creation and maintenance of external enemies is ideal for this purpose.
Wall Street has no quarrel with Russians–they just want to be able to continue to hijack funds from the Fed and wars keep the public occupied while they steal. There have been numerous incidents when everyone was howling for war with Iran and, it seems prepared to attack Iran once during the Bush administration and once with Obama. Also everyone in Washington and in the controlled press was practically howling for war against Syria in 2013 yet, the stopped when it seemed about to happen. The elites want tension only not war.
PCR is right however in cautioning Russian and China to hang tough and do exactly what Putin is now doing with his bomber flights and military preparedness. Also both countries need to watch “NGO” operatives who are mainly intel assets–that’s the main focus of attack.
I think exactly along these lines. My views on Russia are very different from the mainstream after dating a Russian woman and experiencing Russian classical arts culture.
I think both the journalist and PCR are exactly right in their interpretation of world events, and the threat to the end of civilization on this precious planet that US actions represent.
Quite an interview! Thanks to you both! I could write an several page essay involving much research as a comment, but will refrain from doing so since it would be days before I could post it.
But I do have one suggestion: Publically inform Western elites that their estates and industries are targeted wherever they are as part of the counter-strike to the first strike they’re planning.
Another aspect of PCR’s time within Reagan’s regime is his reluctance to admit the depth of power GHW Bush had as veep, coming there directly from his stint as CIA DCI. So, I’ve always used PCR as an additional source–Trust, yet verify.
A further few points of note:
1)
The three strongest reasons against the theory that 9/11 was a false flag attack organized by elements of the US leadership are:
– Need to effect very heavy and hard to hide works on the Twin Towers to demolish them in a controlled way, lasting weeks, all in buildings where tens of thousands people were working daily, all while escaping detection
– Need for absolute secrecy from the hundreds of people who would have to have been involved, not a single of them going public with his knowledge during the next many years, while chances of a secret being uncovered are in proportion to number of people being in on private information
– Need for suicide personnel to take control and pilot the planes, while the CIA and assorted institutions are not known to have any such personnel and none has ever been spotted
2)
Even full thermonuclear war between US and Russia, even if Europe was engulfed in it, would not result in “destruction of the world”
That is either a wild hyperbole or a misconception borne of the talks about “nuclear winter”. Either way, it is unsupported and misleading.
The facts about “nuclear winter” are the following:
– It’s a theory, or even a mere hypothesis, which is not universally accepted
– The threshold for starting one was estimated by proponents of the theory as somewhere between 1,500 and 5,000 megatons of nuclear weapons being detonated near-simulataneously and close to the ground. Not only are thermonuclear weapons planned to be detonated at medium altitude rather than close to ground, which significantly lessens the quantity of dust sent into the stratosphere… there is no longer enough megatons in active strategic arsenals even for the lower estimate of the threshold that is 1,500 megatons! … Yes, disarmament has progressed since the end of the Cold War
Full thermonuclear war between US and Russia, extended to Europe, would result in death of up to two thirds of the targeted populations, plus induced deaths elsewhere through famine following loss of US and European agricultural exports. No nuclear winter to speak of. The bottom line would be somewhere between 10% and 20% of global population destroyed.
The worst catastrophe in recorded world history, yes. The end of a civilization, possibly.
The end of humankind, no certainly not.
3)
Calling Russia more respectuous than Europe or the United States of “Christian morals” or “traditional social mores” is dubious to say the least.
It is part of Russian government propaganda that Russia is home and fortress of traditional and Christian values. However, one does not have to swallow propaganda uncritically, and lip service is cheap. Facts are more important.
You will obviously find complexities, exceptions and degrees. However, it should be noted that:
– Homicide rate is twice higher in Russia than in the US – to say nothing of Europe
– Abortion rate is much higher in Russia than in European countries or in the US. Russia may actually have the highest abortion rate of any country
– Abandonment of children is more common in Russia than in America and in Western countries, while adoption of children is less common. Which is the reason why Russia has been “exporting” orphaned and abandoned children westwards for years – not enough couples at home ready to raise children not of their blood
– Inequalities of fortune are far wider in Russia than they are in America – to say nothing of Europe
The only fact supporting idea of Russia as more Christian than America or European countries is refusal to recognize a homosexual so-called “marriage”. Yes, on this Russia is right but… who will believe that it weighs more than all the rest?
Remember: Do not feed the trolls.
A few further points of note regarding 9/11 as to why it obviously was an “inside job”.
You don’t need things like “secrecy” when you already control the government. You don’t have to do a perfect job and hide everything. In fact, it’s psychologically better for the perps if they do a sloppy job.
It wouldn’t have mattered if someone produced a video of Dick Cheney personally carrying explosives into the building, there would still never be a real investigation. Our masters did 9/11 to overthrow the rule of law, and it was a smashing success.
Congratulations Mr. Paul Craig Roberts on a very deep understanding of the political, economic and strategic goals of the US in world politics. Always is a pleasure for me to read his analysis and commentary. I think that his black premonitions regarding thermonuclear attack could soon realize
quote ““-If the Russians and Chinese do not expect a pre-emptive nuclear attack from Washington, they will be destroyed.” By Paul Craig Roberts in saker interview on 24th of march 2015.
also “As far as I can tell from my many media interviews with the Russian media, there is no Russian awareness of the Wolfowitz Doctrine. –”
where in lies the real weakness of Russia-to live in illusion and to annoy freinds and allies to please enemis as russia did with iran syria libya and even north korea -jsut to please her enemis anglosphere-instead of encouraging those allies to keep the enemy engaged and under check
” Russians believe all the Western bullshit about “freedom and democracy” and believe that they are short on both but making progress. In other words, Russians have no idea that they are targeted for destruction. –If the Russians and Chinese do not expect a pre-emptive nuclear attack from Washington, they will be destroyed”
and mastermind of all these evil plots is who?-england which Russia must sort out in order to have any chance of survival.
NATO is nothing but an instrument created by england for england to keep Germany down and Russia out in cold.
