Listening to Lavrov today I came to the conclusion that the regime in Kiev was indeed about to try to attack the eastern Ukraine. It’s not only Lavrov, the Russian Internet is on “red alert” and chock-full of rumors and speculation about an imminent attack. This begs a number of questions:
1) Why would the junta in Kiev so overtly renege on the Geneva agreement?
2) Why would it attack when the chances of success are very small?
3) Why would they attack know that Russia would almost certainly intervene?
4) Why is the US clearly behind that strategy?
I have a hypothesis which I would like to submit to your attention.
First, the junta in Kiev is reneging on the Geneva agreement simply because it cannot abide by its terms. Remember, the junta is composed of a few politicians handpicked by the US and a few Ukrainian oligarchs. They do have money, but no power. How could they possibly impose anything in the well-armed and determined freaks of the Right Sector?
Second, the eastern Ukraine is lost no matter what. So the junta in Kiev have to pick on of the following options:
a) Let the eastern Ukraine leave by means of referendum and do nothing about it.
b) Let the eastern Ukraine leave but only after some violence.
c) Let the eastern Ukraine leave following a Russian military intervention.
Clearly, option ‘a’ is by far the worst. Option ‘b’ is so-so, but option ‘c’ is very nice. Think of it: this option will make it look like Russia invaded the Eastern Ukraine and that the people there had no say about it. It will also make the rest of the Ukraine rally around the flag. The economic disaster will be blamed on Russia and the Presidential election of May 25th can be canceled due to the Russian “threat”. Not only that, but a war – no matter how silly – is the *perfect* pretext to introduce martial law which can be used to crack down on the Right Sector or anybody expressing views the junta does not like. That is an old trick – trigger a war and people will rally around the regime in power. Create a panic, and people will forget the real issues.
As for the USA – it also knows that the Eastern Ukraine is gone. With Crimea and Eastern Ukraine gone – the Ukraine has exactly *zero* value to the Empire, to why not simply use it as a way to create a new Cold War, something which would be much more sexy that the Global War on Terror or the really old War on Drugs. After all, if Russia is forced to intervene militarily NATO will have to send reinforcements to “protect” countries like Poland or Latvia just in case Putin decides to invade all of the EU.
Bottom line – the freaks in power in Kiev and the USA *know* that the eastern Ukraine is lost for them, and the purpose of the imminent attack is not to “win” against the Russian-speaking rebels or, even less so, to “win” against the Russian military, it is to trigger enough violence to force Russia to intervene. In other words, since the East is lost anyways, it is much better to lose it to the “invading Russian hordes” than to lose it to the local civilian population.
So the purpose of the next attack will not be to win, but to lose. That the Ukrainian military can still do.
Two things can happen to foil this plan:
1) The Ukrainian military might refuse to obey such clearly criminal orders (and becoming a target of the Russian military might help some officers make the correct “purely moral” choice).
2) The local resistance might be strong enough to draw out such an operation and have to come to a grinding halt.
Ideally, a combination of both.
From the Russian point of view things are rather simple: it is infinitely better for Russia to have the East break away without any Russian intervention. If the attacking force is crazy enough to use armor, artillery or airpower, the Russian could decide to strike from the air without actually sending in ground forces. They could also use electronic warfare capabilities to further create chaos inside the attacking force. Limited pinpoint attacks could also serve to demoralize the attacking force. What Russia has to avoid all costs to find itself forced to engage in offensive urban operations which are always dangerous and bloody. It is therefore absolutely essential the the locals take control of their own streets, villages and cities.
Lavrov today delivered a very direct warning: if things go out of hand in the eastern Ukraine Russia will intervene. Hopefully somebody in the West will finally realize that the Russians are never bluffing and that they really mean it. I am not very optimistic though – if Lavrov felt the need to make a full 30min interview in English in which he clearly compared the situation in the Ukraine today to the one in Ossetia in 08.08.08 it is probably because the Russians have intelligence indicating that an attack is imminent.
We shall know very soon.

If I were the Russians, I would attack with my air force and destroy all tanks, artillery batteries and APCs, leaving the Ukrainian army on the ground and with only small arms.

” Which means GRU can start calling Ukrainian commanders and warning them if any harm should come to civilians […] the Ukrainian colonels can be personally held responsible no matter where in Ukraine they live.”
Good points, this is probably why Moscow has repeatedly used the word “criminal” describing the attempted crackdowns.
The FMO had brought up the Hague war crimes tribunal earlier. In addition to deterrence this could become an ongoing embarrassment for the West – unless any right sector detainees get the same “medication” as Milosevic.
It is very plausible that Moscow uses Brzezinski’s writings to decipher US policy and will not fall into the Afghan trap he openly brags about.
Both the posts and resulting commentary on this blog are nothing short of MUST-READS for anyone trying to understand what is really happening in and around the developing situation in Ukraine. So another BIG thank you.
I found Anonymous 24 April, 2014 00:35 especially noteworthy because I agree that THE major driver of Anglo-US-NATO policy at this juncture in world affairs is desperation over the impending collapse of the Dollar-based global financial system.
I agree that, at most levels of visible western politics, the participants are hollow men/women who haven’t got a bloody clue about what is REALLY going on. For career purposes, they know who they must please and their public pronouncements are framed accordingly. However, I do NOT think those whose tune they ultimately dance to are stupid at all; rather they are highly intelligent, uber-wealthy and uber-calculating per pure Machiavelli. Those people comprise the two major hidden groupings of the Post WWII settlement, viz: Guido Preparata’s “Anglo-American Fraternities” and what, for want of a better formulation, I have started to call the “Occult Judaics”. Neither give a pig’s burp about humanity per se and at this juncture in history, their dominance/control is under threat as it has not been since the start of WWII – there are big parallels between the two periods IOW.
The Occult-Judaic side of this uneasy alliance is the most difficult to read – as it has been throughout history. However, what you can be certain of is that it intends to dominate in the long-run. That means that the non-Judaic Anglo-American side of the Alliance knows deep down that it cannot be trusted. The tension is palpable and most visible in the increasingly fraught US-Israeli relationship.
As for the Grunt – I thought Sakers first response to him was perfect. But I also agree, let him continue. He is a salutary reminder of just how effective mass western mind-conditioning and control have become.
You are partially wrong, it is obvious that Eastern Ukraine will secede, not so clear if Russia will annex it. Your mistake is to think that Western Ukraine has no value for the Empire, of course it has, if Russia intervenes, the Empire will be “legitimized” to annex Western Ukraine into NATO, and that is a huge step.
@Semper Fi – 0455
Semper Fi – more properly from the Latin, Semper fidelis meaning “always loyal” or “always faithful”
No doubt some sort of motto for a unit or something the ‘grunt’ pretends to hail from.
What Mr ‘Grunt’ seems to overlook is that his political masters see him as little more than the lowest form of life, to wit, a quote from the puppet master himself – Henry Kissinger:
“Military men are ‘dumb, stupid animals to be used’ as pawns for foreign policy.”
This is what your ruling elite think of you Mr ‘grunt’.
Dear Saker –
thanks again for an excellent analysis.
You and a very astute ‘anonymous’ contributor mentioned China. With Prez Obama’s visit there just now, I cannot help but feel that we’re meant to stare at the situation in the Ukraine and not pay attention to what is and might be happening in the Far East.
This is helped on the one hand by the screamings which always come from both the Kiev regime and Poland, and on the other by the deadly quiet about China.
There is one other aspect: we have of course no idea what the intelligence services of the US are really thinking, what advice they are really giving to their leaders. If you have the time, read Seymour Hersh’s analysis of that famous Red Line in Syria last year, here: http://www.lrb.co.uk/v36/n08/seymour-m-hersh/the-red-line-and-the-rat-line
This is how things work, and I also suspect that this may be the reason for the astonishing silence coming from the EU and from EU politicians like Madame Merkel.
Thanks again – and thanks for providing a forum where we can air our thoughts without being screamed down as ‘Putin lovers’!
re comments re ‘the grunt’ who is posting here
do not be too hard on this person who is in essence searching (perhaps unconsciously) for True Self.
My experiences have been with ‘the armoured corps’ of the cavalry arm of the military.
Long story short: these people have been so o o brainwashed into believing the ‘hero’ myth, they are dead on the inside but accuse everybody else of being…..fill in the blank.
Projection.
Many years after my disconnections from all forms of military life, I discovered a rather exceptional psychotherapist who specialised in ‘body armouring.’
I knew EXACTLY of what she spoke.
This was a woman born in Germany, who had grown up bearing the ‘guilts’ of German war crimes. But she herself was an ‘innocent’.
As was I.
‘The sins of the fathers…..’ were us.
And the scriptures speak of 4 generations of sin.
Anyhow, I feel very at home at the Vineyard, knowing that at some cellular level, we are all the same-heart, mind and soul.
24 April, 2014 01:14 looks a lot like “Cold N Holefield” again. Maybe worth checking for same IP numbers.
Whether he is the same guy or an other, he sure comes up with some classic jokes: “As far as veteran suicides, we’re still the best cared for and most protected veterans the world over, Russia’s veterans die of vodka consumption and poverty, critique America when you match the luxuries our warriors enjoy.”
I hope you realise that unlike the rest of us, these US zombies are paid to march solemnly around the internet posting these things everywhere they can. I had one of them on my blog, so I looked at his IPs and whatnot and I decided he belonged to US Army PsyOps command at Fort Bragg. I actually identified his machine as a Fort Bragg one, somehow, and when I challenged him on this, he said: “don’t worry. not psyops. just a jogger. bragg has nice computers and kind enough to let me use.”
SemperFiknuckledragger
With respect to you Sir, I have not come onto this blog to read of your love for America and your readiness to kill to defend your lifestyle and freedoms. This issue here is the Ukraine and whether foreigners who care nothing for Ukrainians (Americans and other NATO countries) should be allowed to decide on who rules that country. Please be assured that your freedoms and lifestyle will not change irrespective of what happens in the Ukraine. If you want to tell everyone how wonderful America is, then may I suggest you find another more appropriate forum.
í have just watched Sky News at noon. Here is how it went.
-British women Jihadists in Syria
-a dead British paedophile
-story about home loans
-more about British Jihadists
then … at 12:18, Ukraine
Alas, the story of the junta’s murderous assault on protestors lasted only 15 seconds.
-next story, something about an iceberg
Thank God for the Internet so that we no longer have to depend on Sky, CNN, BBC etc for our news.
Dear Saker,
I’d like to join in with the rest of the folks who thank you, not only for an astute analysis, but also for essentially creating a forum of meaningful discussion.
I have a question I’d like to address.
You wrote:
“I will repeat this over and over again. There is no real military option for the US/NATO against Russia. Not against China either, would I add.”
I agree that the US military invincibility is a carefully-constructed myth – the US could never take on Russia and/or China without *huge* losses. Given also the nuclear card, open military warfare does seem as a no-option.
Let me ask then: what other option is there for the US?
They have an abysmal balance of trade, a crippled infrastructure, severe inequalities, and a fragmented social web.
They see China surging in all kinds of indicators (economic, military, academic etc.) and they know that soon, backed up by Russian resources, it will overtake them.
They face strong internal dissent, which they have cracked down of course, but which has created a strong brooding that might escalate at any new black swan – I guess that’s one of the reasons behind the acquisition of 1,6 billion rounds of ammo by the Dept. of Homeland Security (http://www.forbes.com/sites/ralphbenko/2013/03/11/1-6-billion-rounds-of-ammo-for-homeland-security-its-time-for-a-national-conversation/)
Most important of all,
they are crippled economically and financially. The imminent removal of the dollar as the global reserve currency is going to make the bubble burt and all hell is bound to break loose.
What is the only thing essentially the US has? A strong military, given its huge spending. I understand that huge spendings can constitute a military more like a bureaucratic machine, hence ineffective. But given that all else is way more ineffective, isn’t the military option still valid?
Wouldn’t also a new war push under the carpet all of the aforementioned problems of the USA?
To rephrase — for me, this is the great question: if you were the USA, witnessing your imminent financial downfall and your enemies (because that’s how you view them) gaining power, what would you do? Accept that you lose your status as the world’s no.1 and play the multipolar game? That would be the sane thing to do, but that goes against your own founding myth! What else then?
Dear The Saker,
Well it looks like Lavrov the Russians were right. It has started:
http://rt.com/news/eastern-ukraine-army-operation-680/
The latest post looks like they are saying its SBU and right sector/national gaurd not Interior Ministry but NATO giving intelligence…….please…
On top of that the miners have had enough too:
http://rt.com/news/154432-coal-miners-strike-ukraine/
I think Russia has to sit tight and let the Ukranians deal with this on their own at this stage even though sadly people are dying :(.
Rgds,

Mr. Semper Fi Knucklehead argues that he understands the “flaws” of the US, but is perfectly of okay with them because, for the sake of variety, someone must play the role of bully and serial killer. The way he sees it, it might as well be us. Just like any village needs a baker, a blacksmith, a merchant, an idiot and so on, the global village absolutely needs a psychopathic serial killer that goes around destroying entire societies every few years. Again, why does the global village need that? I’ll tell you again, says Mr. Semper Fi Knucklehead: Role diversification, stupid! The global village would not be as “diverse” if it lacked that character.
In any case, if his country did not play that role, someone else would, and Mr. Semper Silly prefers the US to do it. US bombs are gentler, softer bombs. Its phosphorous has a subtler fragrance. Its depleted uranium is richer. It also bears with pride the number one ranking in incarceration rates (ahead of the pack by many country miles). This unprecedented Gulag status is a great achievement of civilization, because, as is well known, the higher the proportion of people in prison, the more free the rest of the people will feel. That’s why Americans feel much freer than anyone else. The objective is to move toward a society where half the population is behind bars, and the other half is ecstatic with freedom. This is probably fair, because, assuming good and evil are randomly distributed, it follows that half of society will have more bad than good in their soul, and therefore should deserve some kind of incarceration.
For this and many other reasons, you need to be a complete ass not to see that America is “the highest manifestation of mankind”.
http://rt.com/news/eastern-ukraine-army-operation-680/
A source in Ukraine’s Joint General Staff has told RIA Novosti that the operation against Slavyansk has been planned by the country’s Security Service, the SBU, and that Interior Minister Arsen Avakov is no longer responsible for the operation.
The groups storming Slavyansk consist of approximately 5,000 militants of the far-right nationalist Right Sector movement, either acting on their own as terror groups or operating as National Guards, the source said. These groups are being supplied with NATO intelligence and aerial photos of the region. The data is being delivered by couriers to avoid interception.
Kiev is not planning to deploy regular troops into the mutinous regions, as the soldiers have been refusing to fight against their own people. The SBU has also deployed up to 500 troops from special forces groups to the area, the source said.
Well, here it is. Russia Today reports a major attack involving mechanized units against Slavyansk with external checkpoints already swept away, at least half a dozen dead defenders. Citizens have now set fire to barricades of tires in a –doubtless futile– attempt to keep the invaders at bay. The troops involved are, of course, undoubtedly from the far western oblasts. All I have seen in the photos are wheeled BTR-60 series APCs but RT says they have tanks as well. No reason to think they wouldn’t.
If the resistance had anti-tank weapons it could hold on, at least for a time. Without them, given its low stage of organization, it can’t.
This, then, is the moment of truth for Moscow. They could easily stop the attack if they have the courage and–it must be said–the integrity to act rather than talk. The world is watching; the hyenas in Washington are watching. The ghosts of those who perished in Warsaw while the Soviet Army waired across the river are stirring.
“As far as veteran suicides, we’re still the best cared for and most protected veterans the world over, Russia’s veterans die of vodka consumption and poverty, critique America when you match the luxuries our warriors enjoy.”
I think you just blew your cover there, grunt. You’ve no more seen combat than I have, and I’d guess you’re probably older than I am (which ain’t young). In any case, please do consider that it’s possible to love one’s country very deeply but simply wish to correct its flaws.

saker I donto understand what Russia or emdvedev or lavrov or even putin are waiting for? have they not had enough proof of enemity of english controled anglos cabal agasint Russia?
why russia does not take the initiative agasint the enemies? why is russia so lazy in taking the battle to the enemy?
russia always loses momnetum for example in syria and now in backyard of ukraine because probably it has no strategic think tanks uniniltrated by wetern agents. it really has no plan A let alone plan B and C.
this is the fatal flaw in Russian character that is why russia has to face the enemy at her door rather than nipping the problem at the bud. Russia should have supported iran with s 300 in 2008 and syria with s-300 in 2011. now russia did not help allies so he enemis are at her door.
This piece by Brigadier FB Ali poses a second “nuclear” option using cyberspace. He makes a case for Russian superiority. I am not in a position to weigh the merits. Any thoughts, Saker and others?
Russia is a very unrelaible partner in that it vacillates too late so it puts in harms way not only her allies but also her existence-that is why all invaders reached the gate of moscow.
russia has some deep psychological problem of being aggresive-it is too timidand acts like weakling thus attracting the hyenas at her door.
only way to stop nato is do to centre of nato-england -what it does to russian itnerests. make sure as many as english and americasn body bags are dispatched.
Although I disagree with everything The Grunt has posted, including “the” and “and”, when I was in pre-Vietnam, the EM ran things. The officers said “do this, do that”. We saluted smartly, said “Yes sir!”, and did what we knew was right. Back then, everybody went. The group I flew to a remote site with had 7 Harvard graduates out of 13. (Not me, a poor blue-collar boy, but they taught me to choose ties and shoes.)
As Zhukov famously remarked: he and the sergeants ran the army.
If there are only, as Anonymous says, about 500 Special Forces involved and the remainder of the attacking force made up of right wing types (probably being paid by Kolomoyski) the local resistance can fend them off providing (a)tanks don’t break into the town and fire directly into occupied buildings, and (b) they don’t run out of ammunition.
The best thing that could possibly happen would local garrisons mutinying and joining the battle.
But the “drills” now being mounted by the the Russian army ought, of themselves, to scare hell out the attackers, and out of Kiev as well. It’s obvious that major ground forces are, or will soon be, moving toward the border and aircraft–lots of them– will be flying. It may be that if Kiev’s aggression has not ended by the time they reach the border they will keep on coming. Maybe–or maybe I’m just being wishful–Putin has decided that it’s better not to put off the inevitable showdown but to get it over with.
Too soon, though, to shout hurray..
And so it has come to this. Again. Russia as the only hope the world has against the insaciable hyenas that run the western world.
No amount of propaganda, veils or masks, can hide the face of the beast anymore. The world IS manichean, the stage of a permanent cosmic conflict between light and darkness.
Russia will not let us down. She will make a stand for decency. Russia saved the world from nazism pretty much on its own, and it will save it again from the current scourge that afflicts the entire planet. Washington is a disease.
My mistake: This piece by Brigadier FB Ali poses a second “nuclear” option using cyberspace. He makes a case for Russian superiority. I am not in a position to weigh the merits. Any thoughts, Saker and others?

I am puzzled as of why the rabid anti-anglo Anonymous makes so many typos and spelling errors.
Is this on purpose? If so which purpose? Confusing the search engines? On the contrary making a “recognizable signature”?
Weird in any case, if someone knowledgeable in such matters has an explanation I will appreciate.
The scary thing when you look at the bigger picture is that US and the bankrupt West in general may be mad enough to push for a wider war due to what they possibly face economically and financially. If the West is truly running out of Gold that has been swallowed up in recent years by China and others but the process has kept the system in check and kept it from fully collapsing, then they may want a wider war to cover the inevitable big economic problems.
They may be pushing for it! That way they can have an external enemy in Russia, etc to point the finger at for all the problems that were caused and carried out by those in the elite classes and the minion politicians below. If war breaks out – martial law and rounding up of those that don’t back the lies, etc wouldn’t seem to be far behind.

http://kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews/KWN_DailyWeb/Entries/2014/4/23_Turk_-_Western_Central_Banks_To_Run_Out_Of_Gold_This_Year.html
This has been years in the making. I liked and learned a lot from reading this:
http://fofoa.blogspot.com/2014/02/think-like-giant-3.html
US strategy is probably to:
• divide Europe and Russia from each other
• have Slav fighting Slav
• abet a nazi/jihadi front to attack the Russian Federation (already announced in Ukraine)
• entice Europe into a dollar regime (also via the TTIP)
• keep/make Europe an appendage of the US
• keep the Petrodollar on life support
• control energy policy in Europe for US interests
• plow Ukraine resources and cheap labor
• push NATO east into Ukraine(!)
• break up the Russian Federation, and thus:
• isolate and keep China in control
So far the EU has shown itself to be a compliant vassal of the US, but in the EU there is opposition. Read the recent two Leap/2020 reports; google for “GEAB N°83” or “GEAB N°84”.
2012
Why hasn’t Russia done everything in its power to make a clear and definite stand on the defence of Syria?
– Throughout this conflict, Russia has only made piecemeal statements and actions i.e. Israel has bombed Syria three times without consequence and Russia still allowed Israel to have a say on whether or not it would fulfill its contracts with its allies.
“No one hears anything about Bahrain anymore, where a Saudi-backed Sunni dynasty lords it over the Shia populace with an iron fist. Now that is a bona fide popular protest, but they don’t get to enjoy “democracy” – the Fifth Fleet has to moor somewhere, after all. As for the Saudis, they continue to be the living proof that the U.S. has no problem with dictatorships or theocracies per se, so long as they remain obedient allies.”
Syria is now the next target of bombs-for-peace activists. The hereditary dictatorship is beset by protesters carrying signs in English (odd, that, in an Arab-speaking country once ruled by the French , so pbviously a british spy manipulations), who also appear to be armed. The official story, of course, is that they are unarmed demonstrators being wantonly butchered by the country’s military. Remember, though, that “Gay Girl in Damascus” was part of the official story for months – until “she” was outed as a middle-aged American man living in Scotland.
When one wages a war on “terrorism” but promotes one’s own terrorists as “freedom fighters”; when “democracy” means whatever the Imperial bureaucrat on the ground declares it means at any given time, things have gone beyond surreal.”

Maybe someone already posted that here, but worth repeating: the troops sent by the illegal ukrainian govt to “clean up” the east are not Ukrainians — who time and time again have just laid down their arms and joined the other side. No, these are mercenaries (as noted by many Zerohedgers) with brand new equipment, new uniforms, and are well combat trained. We will see if the “insurgents” can capture some and show them for what they are.
Also read an article (sorry lost the link) pointing out all the american billionaires that are for a war with Russia.
I’m glad, not to say elated, that SemperFiknuckledragger came here and kindly shared with us his staple diet of Yankee-Drivel-Void-And-Trivial. Granted, I’m deliberately going off topic here — to wit, not relating to the Ukraine at all — but I just find the temptation irresistible, so please read through this post in its entirety, please.
Blog barfs such as SemperFiknuckledragger’s show eloquently that Yank baboons are, in fact, absolutely correct on the controversial subject of 911. Unlike the self-styled “Truthers”, die-hard US supremacists rightly find conspirational theories laying the blame for the attacks on the US Government itself moronic, albeit based on their own equally moronic delusions of National Socialist love and harmony between the US regime and the US rabble. The real reason as to why the US regime most certainly was NOT complicit in the 911 attacks (apart, perhaps, from deliberate neglect in spite of having sensed the danger) is because it knows damned well the moral stature of its grovelling subjects. Consequently, it understands that lowlives such as SemperFiknuckledragger don’t need “fireworks” such as 911 to yearn for chauvinism, repression, and war 24/7. Without any carnage on 911, the Yank baboons would have rallied all the same for war anywhere, anytine at a drop of a hat.
I would say that if Russia has to intervene then its best strategy would be to model that intervention after NATO’s in Libya.
Declare that they’re establishing a “no-fly zone” to protect civilians, and use the air force to destroy any of the junta’s armored convoys on their way to attack resistance positions. Allow, as much as possible, local citizens’ militias and army defectors to do most of the on the ground offensive operations, while providing air-cover when needed.
The goal should not be secession – which would still leave a rump state in NATO’s orbit – but instead complete “regime change” in Kiev.
Once the junta has been dislodged then it shouldn’t be hard to implement the transition to a confederation.
SemperFiknuckledragger – you’re unbelievably ignorant and arrogant from your privileged “I’m an Americunt” position. I found your ranting commentary idiotic and unbelievably selfish.
The “monopoly on theft and murder” is done at their behest by ignorant morons such as yourself – you’re the enablers of this destruction. Your bravado is nothing but filthy rags – being a accomplished murderer is not something to be proud of – but you don’t have the humanity to admit that fact.
Fuck you and virtually everything you stand for. You’re full of hate. You’re blinding by hate. You have no reason. Just hate.
Many of us are disgusted beyond words with your type – you’re not our fellow Americans, you’re just thugs working for the system and doing what you’re told.
Go crawl back into your hole until they summon you again.
A number of Comments allude to the poor quality of current Western ‘leadership’, and, let’s face it, when governed by the likes of Obama, Kerry-Cohen, Powers, Cameron, Sikorski, Hollande, Bildt, Hague, Abbott et al, the West is really in deep doo-doo. Intellectually, morally and spiritually deep in it.
This calamitous situation results, I would say, from the influence of a number of malign factors. As the pretense of ‘democracy’ has been replaced, since the infamous Powell Memorandum of 1971 outlined the tactics of the capitalist overclass for destroying opposition to elite rule, all but Rightists and servants of money have been purged from public life. A negative ‘unnatural selection’ has removed all but stooges from the political, MSM and most of the academic scenes. As Chomsky noted and as Powell advocated, universities have suffered waves of purges of Thought Criminals. The influence of the money power on elections has grown, and, with it, the stultifying grip of Zionist money in particular, resulting in near unanimity of support for every crime committed by Israel, even mass child murder as in Gaza.
At the same time the share of GNP going to labour began to shrink, and indebtedness grow. The USA is now, in effect, a neo-feudal society with massive and still growing inequality, zero upward social mobility, huge prison populations, millions living in dire poverty, slave wages for the burgeoning working poor population, crumbling infrastructure, collapsing education systems being privatised into an apartheid system and urban decay besides elite luxury consumption.
Yet so great is the Judeo-Christian doctrine of ‘Exceptionalism’ (a version of the ‘Chosen People’ myth)amongst the elites and the thoroughly brainwashed masses, that they refuse to face reality. The USA’s last strong cards are self-delusion and control of the Western brainwashing system (MSM, advertising and entertainment)and murderous, genocidal, sanctified, violence. The Zionazi ruling elite’s attitude to humanity was best expressed by that flower of Judeo-American womanhood, Madeleine Albright, when she expressed the opinion that the deaths of 500.000 Iraqi children under five, directly caused by the genocidal US/UK imposed sanctions regime, were a price that was ‘Worth it’. Even Ilse Koch would have blanched at that observation, yet Albright remains an ‘esteemed’ member of the ruling Zionazi elite.
Quote: “Coming from a Secretary of State whose president has just blundered his parochial attitudes all over the media by claiming that The Kosovans had been given the opportunity of expressing their rights of self-determination by “Onclo Samo” (sorry “The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation”), following the coup against the authority of The United Nations which “N.A.T.O.’s” involvement in the region represented John Kerry’s remarks about “Russia Today” sound like very sour grapes indeed!
This observer has never witnessed major powers behaving in a more; gauche, puerile, juvenile or arrogant fashion than that represented by the imperious strutting of The U.S State Dept. in the streets of Kiev which occurred just prior to the recent overthrow of Ukraine’s previous government.
Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande (Margaret Thatcher expanded Europe to Russia’s border deliberately one hardly expects that David Cameron will “see the wood for the trees””………
“…one might argue that both she and Reagan were some of the few politicians who then understood the true nature of “The International” yet unfortunately not the consequences of it’s failure, quote: “For young Europeans, it must be difficult to imagine the routine deprivation that existed behind the Iron Curtain when Margaret Thatcher came to power.”…
” Mrs Thatcher was much more realistic about Europe while in office than she subsequently – and regrettably – became in retirement. As PM, she signed up to the Single European Act and it was under her that the single market was conceived by the UK, one of the keystones of Europe’s success today.
But she then advised Poland not to join the EU – advice which, I must say, we were happy to ignore. In her retirement she stuck rigidly to the idea of British exceptionalism.”…
“should determinedly and immediately intervene to “take Europe’s foot off the gas” with regard to The Ukraine’s integration into “The Wider European Adventure”, however this will prove impossible without their embrace of the notion of an Eastern European Union to provide a “buffer” between Russia and The West (amongst other things and surely only a “first amongst equals” with regard to the other -now very pressing-, reasons why there should be two European socio-political, cultural and economic communities), but in order that such a union might come into being the parasite which is N.A.T.O must be removed from The European body politic (and hence -of course-, the international).”….
“Two diplomatic messages from the WikiLeaks Public Library on U.S. Diplomacy indicate that newly elected President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko was an agent for United States State Department. A confidential message from the U.S. Embassy in Kiev on April 29, 2006 mentions the newly elected Ukraine president twice.”…
“Ask yourselves just why it is (as Emily Maitlis pointed out during The BBC’s European Election night broadcast), that it is The Poles who consitently produce the lowest “turn-outs” in The E.U for European Elections?” Go to: gkhales.blogspot.co.uk
Have discoverd shtomeing interesting as for the dates for the 2015 calendar. Note this cluster of holidays and the Fathers called out times. First, Sabbath will be on the Roman Tuesday.
