Ten years ago, on May 2nd 2007, I decided to “scratch my itch” and to write what I thought and then make it public. After a long interruption I wanted to analyze again and, for the first time, I wanted to make that analysis public (before that all my analyses were classified, you can read a more detailed version of this here). Even if “public” meant all of: me and, maybe, a couple of web crawlers. First, I wrote just on my word processor and then I decided to upload my very first public analysis on blogger. Here is the full text of that very first post:

Where the Empire meets to plan the next war
Take a guess: where would the Empire’s puppeteers meet to finalize and coordinate their plans to attack Iran?
Washington? New York? London? NATO HQ in Brussels? Davos?
Nope.
In Herzilia. Never heard of that place?
The Israeli city of Herzliya is named after Theodor Herzl, the father of modern Zionism, and it has hosted a meeting of the Empire’s Who’s Who over the past several days at the yearly conference of the Herzilia Institute for Policy and Stragegy. For a while, Herzilia truly became the see of the Empire’s inner core of heavy hitters.
(Non-Israeli) speakers included:
Jose Maria Aznar Former Prime Minister of Spain, Matthew Bronfman, Chair of the Budget and Finance Commission, World Jewish Congress, and member of the World Jewish Congress Steering Committee, Amb. Nicholas Burns US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Prof. Alan Dershowitz Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, Senator John Edwards Head of the One America Committee and candidate for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination, Gordon England US Deputy Secretary of Defense, Dr. Marvin C. Feuer Director of Policy and Government Affairs, AIPAC, Newt Gingrich Former U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rudolph Giuliani, Former Mayor of New York City and candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, General the Lord Charles Guthrie of Craigiebank GCB LVO OBE. Former Chief of the Defense Staff and Chief of the General Staff of the British Army, Amb. Dr. Richard Haass President of the Council on Foreign Relations, Stephen E. Herbits Secretary-General of the World Jewish Congress, Amb. Dr. Robert Hunter President of the Atlantic Treaty Association and Former U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO. Senior Advisor at the RAND Corporation in Washington (also serves as Chairman of the Council for a Community of Democracies, Senior International Consultant to Lockheed Martin Overseas Corporation), Amb. Dr. Richard H. Jones United States Ambassador to Israel (also served as the Secretary of State’s Senior Advisor and Coordinator for Iraq Policy), Col. (res.) Dr. Eran Lerman Director, Israel and Middle East Office, American Jewish Committee (also served in the IDF Intelligence Directorate for over 25 years), Christian Leffler Deputy Chief of Staff of the European Commissioner for External Relations and Director for Middle East and Southern Mediterranean, European Commission, The Hon. Peter Mackay Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator John McCain U.S. Senator (R) from Arizona and andidate for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination, Dr. Edward L. Morse Chief Energy Economist, Lehman Brothers, Dr. Rolf Mützenich Member of the German Federal Parliament (SPD) and member of the Committee on Foreign Policy of the Bundestag (and Board Member of the “Germany-Iran Society”), Torkel L. Patterson President of Raytheon International, Inc., Richard Perle Resident Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (previously served as Chairman of the Defense Policy Board and Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy), Amb. Thomas R. Pickering Former U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs (previously served as Senior Vice President of Boeing), Jack Rosen Chairman of the American Jewish Congress (and member of the Executive Committee of AIPAC and of the Council on Foreign Relations), Stanley O. Roth Vice President for Asia, International Relations of the Boeing Company (member of the Council on Foreign Relations), James Woolsey Former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and many others.
Pretty much the entire Israeli “Defence” etablishment (why does nobody call it “Agression establishment?) was present too.
Not bad for a “conference”?!
Of course, the main topic at the conference was the ucoming war with Iran. Richard Perle, the “Prince of Darkness”, delivered the keynote and conclusion: “If the Israeli government comes to the conclusion that it has no choice but to take action, the reaction of the U.S. will be the belief in the vitality that this action must succeed, even if the U.S. needs to act with Israel in the current American administration“.
Noticed anything funny in his words? It’s the “world only superpower” which will have the “belief” (?) in the action of a local country and, if needed, act with it. Not the other way around. Makes one wonder which of the two is the world only superpower, does it not?
Anyway – if anyone has ANY doubts left that the Empire will totally ignore the will of the American people as expressed in the last election and strike at Iran, this conference should settle the issue.
Also – there are other indicators and warnings. Besides the two aircraft carrier battle groups at Iran’s shores, AWACs planes and military equipment is being shipped to Turkey, and air bridge of C-17 heavy transport aircraft are delivering weapons to Siniora’s government in Lebanon, and forces are being deployed to Iraq to defend the dug-in US forces from Shia retaliation.
What about the Democratic majority in Congress? Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, settled any doubts about they would act when she declared at the 2006 AIPAC conference:
“The greatest threat to Israel’s right to exist, with the prospect of devastating violence, now comes from Iran. For too long, leaders of both political parties in the United States have not done nearly enough to confront the Russians and the Chinese, who have supplied Iran as it has plowed ahead with its nuclear and missile technology. Proliferation represents a clear threat to Israel and to America. It must be confronted by an international coalition against proliferation, with a commitment and a coalition every bit as strong as our commitment to the war against terror.”
BTW – Hillary Clinton, the party’s leading contender for the presidential nomination, out-neocons many Republicans when it comes to Iran:
“Let’s be clear about the threat we face now: A nuclear Iran is a danger to Israel, to its neighbors and beyond. The regime’s pro-terrorist, anti-American and anti-Israel rhetoric only underscores the urgency of the threat it poses. U.S. policy must be clear and unequivocal. We cannot and should not – must not – permit Iran to build or acquire nuclear weapons. In order to prevent that from occurring, we must have more support vigorously and publicly expressed by China and Russia, and we must move as quickly as feasible for sanctions in the United Nations. And we cannot take any option off the table in sending a clear message to the current leadership of Iran – that they will not be permitted to acquire nuclear weapons.“
So much for the will of the American people. As Justin Raimondo exclaimed in his recent article about the upcoming war on antiwar.com – isn’t democracy wonderful?!
So count with yet another imperial war of agression, a baril of crude at over 100$ and oil shortages, rocketing inflation, job losses, a stagnant real estate market and stock exchange, and a national debt and government deficit which would make even Reagan proud. And plenty of dead Americans (nevermind the Iranians, right?).
But don’t worry: there will still be a huge supply of Chinese-made US flags to wave!
(written sometimes in February 2007)
——-
That was ten years ago and yet so little has changed since (even my typos are just as bad, or worse). The Neocons are still in charge, Iran is still in the crosshairs. Maybe fewer Chinese-made US flags are bought or waved (at least I want to hope so). Hillary is gone but Pelosi is still there, and instead of an inarticulate bumbling idiot in the White House we now have, well, another inarticulate bumbling idiot. True, in between these two clowns we have had “change we can believe in” and a lot of lost illusions about, well, change we could believe in.
Rather depressing, no?
Yes, but a few other things happened in the meantime, and they are most definitely encouraging.
First, Iran was not attacked. That, by itself, is absolutely amazing. For 10 years the Neocons have been strenuously trying to get the USA to attack Iran and they failed. That, by itself, is a HUGE victory for all of us. Why? Because that shows that the Empire is not as strong as it thought it was and that for all the counter-factual nonsense about Iran sponsoring terrorism, threatening Israel (or anybody else for that matter) and having a military nuclear program, the Empire could not act on its own never-ending stream of threats.
Second, even though she was faced with immense difficulties, external and internal, and with quite a few positive zigs followed by some rather discouraging zags, Russia has managed to overcome it all and she even became much stronger. Most amazingly, Putin finally succeeded in truly and deeply reforming the armed forces, something which nobody believed was possible and today, while rather small in size, the Russian armed forces are arguably the best on the planet. Last year especially, was a year of triumph for Russia. I will readily admit that I wish more Rubles had gone to butter than to guns, but in the current geopolitical reality butter would not keep the Russian people safe. Guns will.
Third, the election of Donald Trump was a stunning blow to the imperial plutocracy running the AngloZionist Empire. Trump was elected in spite of the worst propaganda hate campaign in world history and even though he proved to be a huge disappointment, the American people proved to themselves and to the rest of the planet that while a minority “deep state” wants war, imperialism, violence and the dictatorship of various minorities, most Americans do not. That immense “Not In My Name” is a message of amazing defiance of the “basket of deplorables” against those who seek to enslave them.
Fourth, the political discourse inside the USA has also deeply changed. In 2007 only a select few were familiar with ideas like “the 1%” (thanks to the Occupy Wall Street movement!), or “false flag” (thanks to the 9/11 Truth movement!) or the idea of “Deep State” (thanks to the Tea Party movement?). This, to me, is a reflection of the reality that more and more Americans understand that the enemy is not the “Islamic terrorist”, the “dictator with WMDs” or the “Russian hacker” – but the regime in power in Washington DC. History has proven that American cannot get any meaningful change by the ballot and that the State has a lot more bullets that the people, but at least now the people are beginning to realize who the real enemy is (some knew all along, of course). Ask yourself a simple question: do you know of anybody in the USA who still seriously and sincerely believes that the Federal government in DC stands for “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”?
Fifth, a double tectonic geostrategic change has happened with worldwide consequences. The most important one is the de-facto symbiosis created between Russia and China by Putin and Xi. Rather than repeat it all here, I will just refer you to the brilliant White Paper Larchmonter445 wrote about it for the Saker Blog: the Russia-China Double Helix. Trump latest aircraft-carrier centered histrionics have made that Russian-Chinese partnership even stronger. The second tectonic shift was been Europe’s suicide by reality denial. I was born in Europe, I love Europe and it breaks my heart see what has happened to Europe, but I will also say that this is richly-deserved karma for the despicable role of the Europeans into the destruction of the Ukraine (instead of the Ukraine becoming Europe, it is Europe which became the Ukraine). In other words, Russia has acquired a powerful ally while the USA has lots its most powerful one.
Sixth, with the US Ziomedia finally showing its true face (of a propaganda machine which would have made the Herr Doktor Goebbels green with envy), the free media and blogosphere have had an immense, truly historical, victory over the propaganda machine. Don’t doubt it – when you see the Washington Post or Harvard University listing many websites (including, in both instances, the Saker Blog) as a “fake news” site they are doing it because they are in a panic. Ditto for the sharp rise in YouTube censorship. The presstitutes are freaking out. Because of us! This is also our collective victory.
Seventh, last but not least, the Saker blog and the Saker Community are doing great. In spite of the painful loss of the German Saker blog, the rest of our community is doing great, we are reaching not only more people, we are reaching the right people and our voice is now one of the most recognized ones. When I wrote that first blog entry I would never have imagined that one day there would be a multi-lingual and multi-national “Saker community of blogs”, that about 100 volunteers worldwide would be helping us and that it was possible to unite under one conceptual roof libertarians, communists, monarchists, Christians, Muslims, agnostics, anarchists and many others. And yet here we all are, working together without compromising our values, without having to silence the voice of our consciences. Who would have thought that such a “collaboration in diversity” was possible?!
I have already mentioned several times on this blog that my spiritual father used to say that “one soul is more precious than the entire universe”. I still fully agree with that. This is why we also should never worry about our ranking, approval ratings or, for that matter, about those who hate what we do and even who we are. Let us worry instead about this “one soul” for whom our efforts might make a real difference. I promise you that there are many, many more than just one. You could say that just because of a few such souls all our efforts were absolutely worthwhile.
Yes, it is depressing to see how little has changed, but we can also find solace and courage in the fact that so much has changed too. I can honestly tell you that before I started this blog I felt very, very lonely and extremely disgusted with mankind. But then I met so many kind, honorable, courageous, compassionate, generous, intelligent, beautiful and otherwise remarkable people through this blog and our community that it has completely changed my views on my fellow human being. I used to just see zombies, now I see potential allies and friends everywhere. David Rovics is right – We are everywhere!
Thirty four years ago, in 1983, Solzhenitsyn concluded his amazing “Tempelton speech” with the following words: “Our five continents are caught in a whirlwind. But it is during trials such as these that the highest gifts of the human spirit are manifested. If we perish and lose this world, the fault will be ours alone“. His appeal to resist Evil still rings true today. We have to resist Evil not because we will prevail – though we will – but because of what we are and who we are, and because resistance is the only honorable reply to Evil.
I want to end this note by thanking you, all of you, for all the wonderful things which you have shown me, for restoring my faith in mankind and for making that huge difference to my own “one soul”. Never, not in my wildest dreams, could I ever have imagined that there was so much beauty, love, compassion and kindness out there. Thanks to you all, now I know that there is.
Happy 10th anniversary to you all, my friends!
Cheers and hugs,
The Saker
Hi Saker.
What you write here. This is beauty.
” The second tectonic shift was been Europe’s suicide by reality denial. I was born in Europe, I love Europe and it breaks my heart see what has happened to Europe, but I will also say that this is richly-deserved karma for the despicable role of the Europeans into the destruction of the Ukraine (instead of the Ukraine becoming Europe, it is Europe ”
-Uummmm, you do know that Ukraine and Russia are in Europe right? You are referring to EU, which is political/economic block within Europe.
Nitpick noted. However, a more thoughtful comment would have recognized that Russia is not part of the European/Catholic civilization but rather a unique civilization with Christian Orthodoxy at its foundation.
Fill your glasses with wine that I may propose a toast:
“Lord, O Lord, look down from the heavens, and see, visit and strengthen this vineyard which Your right hand has planted”.
To our Vineyard!
What exactly are you referring to here? If you are calling the mass-rapes of 14 year old white girls that has been going on in Cologne Germany and other places by refugees as “karma”.
The Saker has made no such statement. Any further comments of yours will go to trash. Mod
#I love Europe and it breaks my heart see what has happened to Europe, but I will also say that this is richly-deserved karma#
If you are calling the mass-rapes of 14 year old white girls that has been going on in Cologne Germany and other places by refugees as “karma”.
A little girl was out walking on a cold day when she saw a poisonous snake which was perishing from the cold. Moved by compassion for what was, after all, one of God’s creatures, she picked it up and snuggled it to her in her coat, next to her heart.
Once the snake was revived it bit her, injecting every drop of poison it had.
The girl cried, “Why did you repay me evil for good ?”
And as she drifted off to eternal sleep, she head a voice say, “You knew what I was when you picked me up.”
Karma exactly. Reaction consequent to action. No more, no less.
Life does not support sentimentalism as its ruling principle.
Please close down this conversation. Mod
How true that parable is. I am reminded of how people never really change only the costumes and scenery dies. Lately, the daughter of a ruling tyrant went to her daddy and cried: Daddy, daddy, I saw dead babies, please kill someone.” And daddy sent 59 missiles and murdered 20 or 100, or 1000 people and had their heads brought to his little darling on plates.
Ivanka’s timing was close to perfect. It was just before Easter that Salome had Herod bring her John the Baptist’s head on a plate.
So ten years have gone by and fashions have changed, though more slowly than ever before, but the Scribes, Hypocrites and Pharisees are still here. It is almost comforting and the fact that we witness means we are still hear and responding to evil, not through mere resistance, but by profound example.
Happy Birthday.
Not a day passes without reading your blog Saker. I hope we celebrate 20th anniversary in a better world than what is today.
Greetings from Canada!
A very good article from professor Mujahid Kamran, Pakistan: http://www.veteranstoday.com/2017/04/30/ongoing/
Thank you Saker for your courage and honesty. I have been reading your blog for the past ten years, and have found inspiration and valuable information. My daily read begins here.
Congratulations!
Happy 10th anniversary, Saker, your writings have inspired many followers to not give up hope the world will survive despite the unlimited power in the hands of despots. But more recruits are needed in this desperate fight to expose the agenda of the neocons. We need an anti-militarist council to convene, a sort of GANA (Global Alternate News Alliance) that presents a unified front for truth about the shadow government in control of the Washington kakistocracy.
I have two questions for you, Saker.
1. When will your next book be published? You know, “Essential Saker – Dawn of the Death Dealers” :)
2. Did you get my donation included in the Easter card I sent through the U.S. mail?
1) actually, there are not one, but TWO, books down the pipeline. Roughly, I hope to get one out this year and one next year.
2) Yes, I did, thank you VERY much.
Cheers,
The Saker
Congratulations, Saker !
It is your great success to reach hearts and minds of so many people and keep their attention for such a long time. Someone else coined the phrase – the internet is now the ‘samizdat’; in the world of the Oligarchy Internationale we need samizdat just as you practice.
How will the world look after the next 10 years? I think that you will tell us how much more has changed, than in the last ten, and hopefully it will be to the better.
Praise the Lord for the past ten yeaars, and mnogaya leta (Many more years to you)
Dear Saker:
Thank you for all you do. It’s like you “drilled a hole into Plato’s
cave”, and let a beam of light shine in, so that now an exit is visible, for those who would choose to leave, now can. Once outside, there is a whole different way to look at and consider one’s newly discovered “real world”. Again, Thank you!
Your tent is large. I am much better informed today because I opened a flap, found a seat, listened and shared. Thanks Saker!
THORAX (from flyover country-USA)
Blogs like this have changed the tone in the US. People openly talk about the madness of .gov and the cheerleaders have been quelled.
If I can speak for my children’s children, thanks.
May 2nd !! Novalis’ birthday – and my grandmother’s who is still my favorite person – even though she’s on the other side now- its a great date –
Happy 10th birthday!
May the force be with us!
@EVERYBODY
Thank you all for your very kind words and good wishes!
I am more deeply touched than I could put it in words.
A big “Russian bear” -style hug to all,
The Saker
I had forgotten that the Odessa Massacre was May 2nd. that’s not a good thing, but its still significant that Saker started his blog the same day – many years before — I guess what I should have said, is that its a powerful date
Sometime, about four years ago, I found a link to the Vineyard on ZH.
It was a wonderful discovery to explore the rich “soil” of the Vineyard and to probe the Saker, mysterious as he was in those days.
The blog went through some convulsions and calamities and expanded internationally, replicating in other languages (which produces more angst at times).
But my adventure here has been enriching. Passionate and intelligent people from around the globe contribute opinion, explanation, insights and erudition (sometimes in other languages, too).
But many good hearts and minds have made their marks here. A few lesser spirits have wasted their efforts trying to demean the Saker or commenters. But, the daily effect of this digital salon is we come because the news media is corrupt and more truth is available here than any ten other blogs or a dozen media outlets.
So, congratulations, Saker. You have persevered and with the help of many nurtured this wondrous island we all have a stake in. You wanted it free of ads, free to redistribute, and congenial and collegial. Of course, that is impossible as a formula but you made it work. A triumph for your values.
God bless your wife and family for putting up with your project.
And thank you, mой друг. Congratulations! Nоздравления!
You are going to have to blame Larchmonter for dragging this crotchety old curmudgeon to Saker’s blog about three years ago. He reached down in to the slime I was standing in, read up to my neck, pulled me out and dragged me here.
I do not do ‘social media’ but I found Saker’s blog to totally different, generally erudite discussions of current and past events and generally polite and measured. It is a blessing that I was dragged here and having met Saker personally when he welcomed this strange man in to his home as a guest, well, that shows what a man Saker is.
Congratulations on the 10 Year Anniversary, Saker! From the looks of things it will go on for another 10 years but in the end we will win. My charming bride and I will lift a glass of good Massandrah to you and your wife this evening. God bless and God speed, keep up the good work and the good fight.
to our vineyard! *toast*
Nice gift for all of us.
Been following the blog and spreading the message for 10 years.
Glad you have made the connection with Sheikh Imran Hosein who have the following of true muslims..
May your Christian Heart keep glowing with the love of freedom for righteous from Lord God Almighty :)
Salam from the Northern Kurdistan/souteast Anatolia .
One day we shall meet hopefully as i am a big fan of both the Shiekh and you Saker.
This one really hit home you know :)
Congratulations to your decade of publishing the truth and critical thinking.
Your blog is part of my daily morning reading and restores my faith/hope in humanity while there is still a world run by criminals and idiots.
Un gran abrazo and cheers from the south of France.
I’m honored to have been reading here from the beginning. You have opened the eyes of many, by being willing to learn while teaching at the same time.
The next 2 decades are critical, while Russia tries to let the empire collapse under its own weight, rather than ignite a fire that takes the whole planet with it. In this conflict military power is crucial, but the best weapons are always wisdom and patience.
Congratulations! Keep your good work up.
We’ll support you. By the way, Patreon looks like a good option, I use it with Dmitry Orlov’s blog.
You are one of the leaders amongst us. Thanks for all your efforts. They are much appreciated.
It is impossible to disagree. So little appears to have changed yet we are winning. The collective awakening gathers apace.
For example, for what it’s worth (and it is worth a great deal in my opinion) only yesterday the following interview with German physicist Heinz Pommer was posted .
He appears to have nailed the issue of how the twin towers were brought down on 9/11.There have been confusing controversies between different factions of the 9/11 Truth movement over the years but Pommer’s thesis is compelling. He clearly explains the causes of the following:
1) the chemical fingerprint of the WTC dust as published by official sources. This evidence is definitive.
2) the extreme (and strange) rusting of vehicles and steel beams around Ground Zero.
3) the tilting of the top section of the towers during the first second or so of collapse.
4) the holes left in the bedrock granite after the collapses and the reason why the WTC collapse sites have been (and had to be) replaced by water features (memorial pools)
5) the purpose and necessity of the gaping holes created at the tops of the towers by whatever hit them.
9/11 was a nuclear event. Case closed:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAXmie-plnA
Every New Yorker should watch this interview.
Märchenstunde. No science, all fiction.
Here’s the rundown on 9/11 and the World Potemkin Center:
1) No highjackers.
2) No airplanes – only TV fakery, artificial smoke and other Hollywood tech.
3) Controlled demolition, using tested standard procedures.
Why was it possible to use controlled demolition on 9/11? Wouldn’t it have required months of preparation? Yes, it would. But it was possible because the towers were not what they seemed.
Was the World Trade Center pre demolished and Hollow on 9/11?
Did the World Trade Center have an interior Lighting & Shuttering system installed to hide its Hollow Tower Appearance?
4) No offices – the towers were gutted and empty.
5) No victims – only actors. (Maybe someone was killed unintentionally. But no “mass murder”.)
I went to NYC in September of 2000, and on a warm and sunny weekday afternoon, the area around the WTC and down to Battery Park lacked street life. Across an empty square, I saw two or three dozen tourists queueing up for the observation deck at the entrance of the tower. I don’t believe there were 40,000 people working in the towers.
6) It was not a World Trade Center. It was a World Potemkin Center.
ThereisaGod,
Thank you for posting this – it is a very interesting video. I retain an open mind about how 9/11 was done. Like everyone I was personally shocked at the event, but did not come to the conclusion that the Official US Government Story was completely impossible until February 2003 – 18 months after the event. I did do physics at an English university ( a long time ago ), but I suddenly realised the 9/11 event as explained by the US Government – completely defied all the fundamental laws of physics and maths.
The realisation, was personally profound. I felt that I had been kicked exceedingly hard in the guts of my body and soul. I knew that my Western Civilisation had done this. I told everyone I knew, because to me it now looked so obvious. I was working with highly intelligent people in the computer industry.
Almost every one thought I was having a nervous breakdown, and some of my friends were quite verbally aggressive to me. Eventually, I had to learn to keep quiet about this with my personal family, friends and colleagues – just in order to maintain my sanity.
I discovered The Saker about a year before the events in the Ukraine, and I think he is the man of the highest integrity. I congratulate him on this blog’s 10th anniversay, and highly recommend that you buy his book in hardcover paper format. It’s enormous, and when all the lights go out, as they probably will, you will still be able to read it if you survive (but probably not in the moonlight)… but maybe under the dustcloud at noon.
I think it was Peter Dale Scott who came up with the term “Deep State”, and I would highly recommend reading him too.

As the French say : “Qui se ressemble s’assemble” = what belongs together comes together. So I wish, we should stay together, not just for now, but forever. Happy 10th birthday Vineyard of The Saker !
When I read this 1st ever post of the brother Saker, and saw the words “sanctions in the United Nations”, my heart ached and my blood boiled.
Every time I read “UN sanctions” this or “Western sanctions” that, I cringe out of the injustice and criminality of merely the idea of economically sanctioning nations to get them to do what you want.
Sanctioning Iraq for 13 years, sanctioning Iran, sanctioning Russia…etc, etc.
An amazing blog. Clever stuff, intelligent contributors. Thank you, Saker!
G’Day from WA Saker. Happy 10th. I was so pleased when I read Sheikh Hosein and yourself were getting together; now there is a FORCE to be reckoned with! The Synagogue of Satan will go the same way as their second temple, all it takes is the truth to be told – you two blokes are doing just that and, I eagle (y) look forward to your book.
All the best and thank you very much from Czech.
Although I’ve only recently discovered The Vineyard, having found you on Global Research, I want you to know that you are my first port of call each day.
For a reader from Down Under where the MSM reigns supreme, to get the news from a Russian perspective is invaluable, to read analysis which is not choking with political correctness or dripping with lies is so refreshing, despite the awesome subject matter.
I should compliment the whole community because I find the comments more enlightening and more entertaining than most professionally produced ‘news’ in Australia, let alone the articles they are commenting on.
Many happy returns, Saker and friends
Wonderful post.
Agree with every word.
Yes, there are grounds to believe nothing has changed re imperialism.
But one thing has – awareness.
What was once in the realm of ‘conspiracy theory’ – a term intended to discredit – is fast becoming mainstream.
Legacy media has lost its power to control the public through its official narrative.
More and more are aware that conflict is orchestrated and funded.
That ‘colour revolutions’ and ‘springs’ are not the ‘spontaneous’ events they are presented as.
That NGOS – especially Western ‘human rights’ are, along with much of Western institutions corrupt, pace the often good work done by naive members on the ground.
That when it comes to ‘evidence’ of war ‘crimes’ by designated ‘dictators’, more and more question those official claims.
Critical thinking is making a comeback, despite the tsunami of disinformation used to discredit alt media.
Two recent youtube videos – interview with Assad and the Roland Bernard revelations – display a growing recognition of the Big Lie:comments were thoughtful and considered, devoid of the usual milinerian biblical references, indicating a politically – aware audience.
Nor is there the blind loyalty that imperialism has relied on to divide and conquer:. Les Deplorables have not given Trump a free pass, but a mandate. They will remove it if he walks the US into war for Zionist ends.
And lastly, the recognition that Zionist fascism is a major factor in the destabilisation of the MENA is no longer the preserve of the cognoscenti, or the role of transnationals in the scramble for control over its energy resources.
This is now common knowledge.
That a cabal of batsh*t-crazy megalomaniacs are attempting nothing less than control over the globe is no longer the stuff of fiction. Or that the political class that has enabled the current neo – feudalism is comprised of the worst elements of human nature. Not just venal – we knew that – but seriously corrupt.
And who believes the secret services involved in looting and destruction of the middle east are working for any nation’s ‘interest’?
Or that the hordes of jihadis are self – funded?
That’ false flag’ is now a mainstream concept proves that elites have completely lost the perception war.
The question now remains – how much control do the psychopaths at the top of the chain have over the levers of power, and how much can they rely on their minions?
Especially in the military?
Great work these last years, but it’s probably not done.
http://www.voltairenet.org/article196200.html
Volitare was the first to report that Russia would go into Syria. Their sources are strong.
A quick google of the appointees he is talking about turns up this.

The way I see it, the empire has only one tactic; doubling down.
It’s back on. The NeoCons won. It was probably going to happen anyway. Damn.
happy birthday saker.it is amazing what one truly good man can achieve.
many thanks for the blog and the commenters we find here.
Finally someone there in Finnish military/strategic squads got some sense and managed to block B-52’s coming to Lapland. Nobody knows who he/they were but sure – these machines planned to kill women and children are not coming there. I know it wasn’t the president but someone there who hasn’t lost sense of reality. President is weak, we got kick him out. He’s playing with double cards and that’s pretty dangerous so near Kola Peninsula and S.Petersburg.
Congratulations Saker. Terrific blog with great contributors and commenters/ators. Thank you for your generosity and openness. So cheers to you, friends, and a shout out for our unsung heroes, the mods and admins, too. Balshoye spasiba.
Leaders always step forward when needed to shine a light on the dark path ahead. Thanks Saker.
“We are reaching the right people.”
Is this so?
Are those who comment representative? There are too many who hate Jews. Or hate gay men. Or… (There is even a persistent minority of Nazi sympathisers!)
This (I would suggest) is a harmful distraction from what I take to be the main purpose of the blog, to resist the American empire.
There are two clear and present dangers to humanity. One is nuclear war. The US is the most likely to start one. The other is climate change. The US is the most determined to do nothing that might stop it.
“Deplorables”, in the main decent, hard-working people, should be the target audience. “Progressives”, in the main decent, hard-working people, should also be the target audience. Likewise, religious and irreligious. Not a minority whose hatreds cloud their judgement. Not even the majority who comment here (the choir chiming in with the Responses) who simply exclaim again and again how evil the empire is.
There is a need to avoid absurdities such as, It’s all the fault of the Jews, or Freemasons, or gay men, or bankers, or Jewish bankers, or gay bankers, or gay Jewish bankers, or gay Freemason Jewish… (The oil industry, the Pentagon and its clients, the alphabet soup etc. would be surprised to learn that their bewildering complexity can be reduced to such simple, cartoonish, Manichaeism.)
Is there not a need for some more critical comment to test the strength of the arguments propounded here? It seems to me to be lacking (although with admirable but possibly misplaced fortitude the Saker does allow occasional poisonous attacks on himself).
The main purpose of the blog, to resist the American empire, is too important to allow distracting foibles to get in the way. (The other purposes, to educate us in Orthodoxy, and to tell us about the view from Russia, among others, are also best served, I would argue, by less of the hate-filled commentary – the rules and the conscientious moderators are only partially effective.)
The Saker’s blog is of great importance. I only intend by what I say here to suggest how its audience could possibly be broadened.
What I hear in your post: “It is an unwelcome shock to discover that the values of so many caring, well informed and (mostly) highly intelligent people here can differ from mine.
For your own good, you should recognize that mine are definitive, and should be imposed on all, for the common good.”
“What I hear in your post…” Well, you hear wrong (again).
If you boil it all down – the oil industry, the Pentagon, etc. – you’ll end up at banks. Maybe banks weren’t that bad at all if the financial system were different, but each attempt to change laws are blocked – by banks (remember recent changes of Dodd-Frank?).
It is cramped in your tent.
Are those who comment representative? There are too many who hate Jews. Or hate gay men. Or… (There is even a persistent minority of Nazi sympathisers!)
Well, for one thing nobody is forced to like Jews, Russians, Chinese or anybody else. Second, who cares about who loves whom? Is the relationship towards Jews truly the only single and most important criteria to assess a person’s view?
There is a need to avoid absurdities such as
And, if I may ask, who in the world are you to tell us what is absurd and what is not? I think that your insistence that everybody love Jews is totally absurd too.
Frankly, there is A LOT of evil out there done in the name of Jews and I really don’t see how not talking about that would be right.
The sad truth is that most of the blogosphere is “policed” by self-appointed “thought policemen” like you who immediately jump on those who dare to express a negative opinion about Jews or homosexuals. Well, since that is so, I take PRIDE in not hounding them here and in letting them freely express their opinions. The only thing I do not allow is *real* racism, which is not at all the same thing as a assessment, even critical or negative, of the role of Jews in our society.
You know, it’s this thing called “freedom”. The one we supposedly cherish and which you would deny us. Well, as long as I run this blog those who dare criticize the powers that be, including the Jewish powers that be, will find here a place self from the censorship of the likes of you.
Kind regards,
The Saker
“We are reaching the right people”.
The “right people” is everyone and anyone in the West who is supine in the face of their government’s policy.
Those who comment on the blog represent an exceedingly narrow range. How then do you conclude you are reaching the right people?
Jew hatred is a distraction. Anti-Zionism is not (and charges of anti-semitism should not deter opposition to Zionism).
Hatred of gay men is irrelevant (although “LGBT rights” has been appropriated by the US just as “human rights” was as a propaganda weapon).
Freemasonry – who knows? Perhaps we should ask Dan Brown to investigate.
None of this has much bearing on what should be the main concern:
The US has for a century sought to make the world safe for “free enterprise”. Since WW2 it has had the power to order the world to this end. Resource-rich countries supply the raw materials (at gunpoint if necessary). The advanced economies are held close as markets for manufactured goods and services (it serves their interests to comply). No state must have the power to oppose the US. And no Eurasian alliance can be allowed to compete. Hence the effort to “isolate” China, Russia, Iran. The US appears willing (whether deliberately or out of sheer idiocy) to destroy the world in pursuit of power.
This is the US and US interests we’re talking about. Israel plays a disproportionate part, but it is not the main attraction. Whether men are gay or straight is neither here nor there. Oilmen and bankers and generals and spooks at their golf club of an afternoon would be startled to learn that they are part of a conspiracy of free masons.
You are of course free to have Jew hatred and gay bashing take up as much space as you like. I do not pretend to “police” anything or “censor” anyone. I asked for a broader range of opinion and more critical comment.
By the way, I did not insist that “everyone love Jews”. Such twisting of meaning is not helpful. Similarly “a lot of evil has been one in the name of Jews”. Evil done in the name of anyone is to be condemned. I never suggested otherwise. There is a distinction not often drawn by those who comment here between “evil done in the name of Jews” and “Jews do evil” – your blog continues to illustrate the ambiguity in talk of “Jews” as between “some Jews” and “all Jews”.
Banging on about “Jews” is not some heroic fight in the name of freedom by courageous truth-tellers.
I’m surprised by your response to sincere criticism.
“distracting foibles . . . .climate change . . . clear and present danger(s) . . . . need to avoid absurdities such as . . . . need for some critical comment to test the strength of the arguments propounded here . . . .”
I’m inclined to agree with you, but I’m not suggesting any topics; rather commending the idea of reasoned argument, especially in the light of this :-

The hasbaratchiks look really pissed off that they are overlooked.
And here is why the Saker’s Vineyard is so crucial to humanity’s dialogues and edification, as well as a secure record, an archive of truth:
Three years ago today in Odessa.

And the unrecorded ‘sister’ massacres that have occurred in Mariupol that one day will come to light. But there is much more also in Nazi Ukraine.
Throughout Donbass and Novorossiya are hidden exterminations and massacres at little villages and in the cellars of cities. One reason the war won’t end is to prevent the investigation and prosecutions of Kiev and its military, intelligence and interior services.
A real ceasefire and resolution will lead dozens of political and nazi leaders to the gallows.
So here at the Vineyard will be heard the moral call to requite the rape, torture and slaughter of innocents with a just vengeance. It is the highest duty of those of us who know.
Thank you Saker for being a very big flashlight in the dark world of media spin!! Sending hugs and lots of love through cyberspace!
Since you mention the Saker community, I ‘ve noticed that the RSS feed of the French and Russian sakers have been removed. There are no links on this website to lesaker francophone..? And what happened to the person who was managing that site?
Least we forget that there are new folks tuning in all the time and who need the reminders of our reference posts. This one, 2nd May 2014, was a galvanizing point for me, because it meant that clearly fascism in its foulest form was back with support from the Pontius Pilates of Western governments.
Thanks to the brave souls of the Donbass, the people’s militias that took the borders of Crimea and protected the airport and the response of the Russian people one massacre did not turn into a genocide.
Let us resolve; therefore:
The massacre will not be denied
The Crime will not go unpunished
The significance will not be buried in the sands of time.

The fact that Persia is still alive is genuinely amazing. Makes me think that Persia ALREADY has nukes. We destroy every country that displeases us, UNLESS the country has nukes.
Longstanding ties between Russia and Persia may be an alternate explanation. We’ve understood for many decades that Russia will help Persia, and we’ve been frustrated for many decades.
Truman in 1946:
“Yet now Russia stirs up rebellion and keeps troops on the soil of her friend and ally Iran… Unless Russia is faced with an iron fist and strong language another war is in the making. Only one language do they understand: “how many divisions do you have?” I do not think we should play compromise any longer …I am tired of babying the Soviets.”
Sounds mighty familiar.
Dear Saker,
All the Best
Thanks for everything
My guess : there will be no WW. It may be that more small nations will have to suffer under the evil umbrella of the empire, or continue to suffer for some time. Those who stand for the Truth. who aspire for the Truth may have to endure, overcome disappointments even see the ground sinking beneath their feet but they will hold on because ultimate victory is certain.
sarvam khalu idam brahma ( verily all this is the Brahman
I do agree with bernie. There will be more and more proxy wars by Empire until the very end. At the same time EU is becoming more and more brittle. A miracle if Brussels crept to 2020’s. My racy guess: Nov 2020 will be election where both candidates in US are only arguing where to go after Empire. Both them are sick and tired: it’s either co-operation with China/Russia + other winners or isolation and being big boss only in Americas. That change will give the real hope for US citizens finally.
“For 10 years the Neocons have been strenuously trying to get the USA to attack Iran and they failed.”
Yes, and this is in no small part thanks to Syria, Russia, and Hezbollah. And, speaking of Russia, I would also like to cheer for the Chechens taking on the Ukronazis and their Western imperial backers in the Donbass.
Félicitations Saker — l’Occident fasciste et sioniste tombe lentement et inexorablement sous nos yeux!
Многая лета! Многая лета! Многая лета!
I first encountered this website when I was searching information on the Ukrainian conflict in 2014 and so for the next months I was glued to this site, checking every few hours for any new developments. I am so very grateful to you for all this information.
Through this site I discovered a few others such as Southfront and Fort Russ and many others.
Thank you for all the fantastic work you do! Thank you for keeping us in the light!
instead of the Ukraine becoming Europe, it is Europe which became the Ukraine
Brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here in the US, 30 years ago I was as depressed as you were because the understanding of history I had acquired with difficulty was not only absent overall, but people assumed that anyone who proposed such connections and realities must be crazy. Yet today we see that the dam has broken. The control over organs of information they exercised is seriously eroded, and the struggle now for them is to keep manufacturing distractions and Quixotic diversions (like abolishing grammar) to divert people and keep them from coalescing into one solid block that insists on honest dealing based on facts.
It is depressing to look ahead to what comes next, but encouraging to know that enough people, everywhere, are now aware of enough that there is a sound basis for continuing the endeavor even if fragmented into blacked-out regions operating autonomously. It is wide, but thin ; thin, but wide. Insecure but encouraging.
Interesting times indeed that we live in, presenting an opportunity with respect to mankind that has perhaps never existed before. Let us not quit or fall short out of resignation. And help us God !
The thanks is more for you than anyone else. Thank you Saker. May you be bestowed with health and happiness from up above.
Doktor Goebbels learned his trade from US experts (Edward Bernays). There are many more things Germans learned from the US before 1933.
‘White racism’ in the first place. Eugenics and euthanasia.
“instead of the Ukraine becoming Europe, it is Europe which became the Ukraine”
Well, yes and no. The Ukraine is now a horrible, stinking and sinking cesspit where “European values” (the real deal, mind you) reign supreme. Still, however, the Ukros feel deluded, flattered, and emboldened as long as the God-forsaken Eurocracy oozes with Russophobia and as long as there is no Third World immigration into the Ukraine.
Europe — in other words the wonderful You’re_a_peon Union — will no doubt become a failed state like the Ukraine. But given the sizeable Third World immigration to the former, a full-fledged Nazi regime — Kosher or otherwise — doesn’t look like very likely here.
The first use of Big Data was IBM assisting the Nazis.
They later turned that into the Pass System of South Africa, and moved it over to Guatemala to control the campesinos, assisted by Israelis who used it also. Note the Guatamala army carried Galil rifles.
Note the fascist link from IBM, the Big Blue it was called, and the complete amoral use of technology for genocide and tyranny.
Not much has changed. Computers are faster. Fascism is disguised as Liberalism.
Everyone is a compa under global feudalism. Stay inside your grid or die. It’s been this way for 80+ years. “Think”.
I certainly hope your are not referring to the rape waves that has hit W.Europe lately as “Karma”, because if you are saying that Germans girls deserve to be raped because their government is controlled by USA, that is pretty evil.
Hope is good. But carefully reading what it actually says instead of cooking up some kind of nonsense is even more important. You know, the “use your head” principle. Because not using it is pretty dumb…
‘Europe’ invited Karmic retribution the moment it open the gates for the Ottoman invasion (litterally, the Genovese mercenaries left open the gate of Constantinople through which the Turks entered the city in 1453).
Ditto, when the most Christian King of the ‘first daughter of the Church’ France, Francois I concluded the first alliance with the enemies of Christendom, the same Ottomans, “the sacrilegious union of the lily and the crescent”, to fight together against the Christian Emperor.
Ditto, when the Protestant Dutch deemed that “Liever Turks dan Paaps (“Rather Turkish than Papist”), also Liever Turksch dan Paus (“Rather Turkish than Pope”)”.
When the progressive intellectuals of Europe began extolling the virtues of Islam in their fight against the Church of their ancestors.
When the Kaiser “Hajji” Wilhelm II who, for not especially religious reasons, became infatuated with the Muslim world and allied himself with the Ottoman ‘jihad’ against Russia.
And that’s not all.
@Anonymous
your comment is utter bs
Where did the Saker say that? How can you even imagine, knowing everything the Saker stands for, that he could even imply such a thing? Mind boggles, truly.
The retribution is that Europe is now irrelevant and pathetic. By agreeing to be the lapdog of the US, Europe has lost its identity, its uniqueness and … its relevance.
Congratulations, Saker! You are an inspiration to us all!
The reality now in EU is very much “Habsburg”. You see there is an anecdote about the exchange of telegrams between German and Austrian army headquarters in the middle of the First World War: the Germans sent the message “Here, on our part of the front, the situation is serious, but not catastrophic,” to which the Austrians, Habsburgs replied “Here, the situation is catastrophic, but not serious.”
I was nine and a half years too late (but never too late) in discovering this blog and your writings. Just the links of this post, of which I have only accessed a few, are worth a decade of searching the alt-news for meaning, truth and soul felt camaraderie.
A practical request. You refer to “a multi-lingual and multi-national “Saker community of blogs””. Is there a link to one that would be able to reach my Albanian/Macedonia kin? I would think he would truly be responsive to your writings.
Thank you, just for being there and sharing.
Juan
To the saker, it’s been ten years already whao! If you ask me I believe the struggle(enlightenment on this forum) as revealed more success than you expected, in fact I can proudly count myself as one of the success story of this site as I would count racefortehran as among such site I’ve immensely gained from. And to all those regular commenters who are shining the light and continue to hold the torch in this world ruled by the agents of darkness. Bravo and happy anniversary.
“I wish more Rubles had gone to butter than to guns”.
Quite a few N.Z. dairy farmers would share that sentiment ; N.Z. was lifting its pen to ink the trade treaty with Russia when the word came from on high.
Of course N.Z. has continued to facilitate the trade of as much dairy product as Russia has been prepared to accept – trade embargo not withstanding.
Congratulations the Saker on the 10 year anniversary of the blog. Thank you. You provide some much needed critical thinking and understanding of what is going on in the world. More and more people all over are waking up.
May your blog live long and prosper :).
Congrats Saker!
It was in 2012, I believe, when I for the first time stumbled upon your blog and never left ever since. :-)
There is little else I can say that the other commentators haven’t already said – an every-day source of real news and analyses and wonderful comments.
I, especially, appreciate you mentioning my dearest Serbian people at the time of total and genocidal slander against us in the ziomedia! Your knowledge is immense and there is so much I have learned from you and a lot of good commentators you attracted to this oasis of true freedom and speech.
And a Q at the end: you mentioned few years ago you might show up on RT. Forgive me if I missed it, but why it hasn’t happened so far? You’d be a great contributor to their program.
Wish you the best in the coming time. We’ll need you:-)!
And a Q at the end: you mentioned few years ago you might show up on RT.
No, that never happened. However, I just interviewed by Bonnie Faulkner for her show “guns and butter” on Pacifica Radio. Not once, but twice. I will post these interviews very soon (one probably tomorrow).
I have been a huge fan of Bonnie for years, so being interviewed by her was a huge honor and joy for me. She rocks! So stay tuned :-)
Cheers,
The Saker
Heartfelt thanx Saker for your service to the ‘one soul’. This one has been expanded both in mind and deeper still by your soulfull analysis and the platform you have allowed so many points-of-view to speak from, including the one who so recently describes himself as a ‘crotchety old curmudgeon’.
The occupied ‘antipodean islands’ seem a little less occupied when i turn to this vinyard.
One more thing has changed: I’m a paying subscriber of The Saker since a couple of weeks now. Hope many more will do the same.
Keep up the good work.
Thank You Saker
For everything you have done in the last ten years…and everything coming in the next ten.
I have found your writings to be like a light shining in the wilderness. I have “shared” many of your posts on facebook. Many of my friends are of the lefty/liberal variety which means they are really lost!
How many actually read the posts and at least consider that there is more to the “news” than what they are fed by the machine is anyone’s guess. You’ve given me much to think about!
Congratulations and salutations Saker !
For news and coverage, originality, sparks that fly, for amazing [same] commentary, and Lest we Forget, those grande and true spirits whose lives have been lost along the way, victims of war, of sorrows without number, eternal rest be theirs.
Saker, submarines are rediscovering the sea they were meant for. Thank you for your part in it. I would also like to thank to contributing authors, moderators, commentators, coordinators and IT people, who together with you Saker, make this blog my second home.
Keep on being honourable, principled, kind, intellectual, reasonable and compassionate. Words fail to express my feelings but i fear that a hug would leave at least a few broken bones as an expression of gratitude. Bear hug indeed!
Your work show us a possiblity of a better world and that around the globe people exist who share that vision. Thank you for that glimmer of hope. Glimmer that shines brighter with each passing day.
If you don’t believe in the impossible, how do you ever expect it to happen.
Thank you!
To both yourself, and to the community. So glad I found this place. :)
A nice speech. Thanks.
I only became a regular reader at The Vineyard in the past year, after my curiosity was piqued from seeing this site mentioned many times in comments on The Corbett Report.
The articles here, and associated links, give me a perspective on Russia and the Ukraine (in particular) that I don’t encounter as much elsewhere. Depth of analysis is important for my tastes. So I extend my personal gratitude to you, Saker, for having made all this possible.
I probably spend more time in the comments section though, as there is such an international mix of contributors, and the discourse is usually at a high level. I also find a lot of terrific history on display, as well as important link references. So my heartfelt thanks also go to those of you who create these insightful comments.
On a final note, I must make a complaint.
After The Saker posted his explanation of the site finances, and appealed for support, I finally clicked the PayPal icon and signed up for what I thought would be a monthly contribution (having checked the appropriate box). However, more than a month later, I have yet to be charged another monthly subscription payment by PayPal.
Something is wrong here. Either the monthly payment feature is actually inactive or broken, or someone at PayPal is dropping the ball. Please investigate.
After getting the transaction details at PayPal there is an anomaly. Prompted by The Saker article, I decided to make monthly contributions to 4 of my favourite sites. One contribution was through Patreon and the other 3 were via PayPal directly.
To my recollection, all 3 of the PayPal input windows were in the same format. However, only 1 of those payments is currently showing as pre-approved in my PayPal transaction history. Today I re-contributed to the 2 other sites, including this one.
Yet, again, Saker Analytics shows simply as a donation, and not as a pre-approved payment. Trying to find a place on the PayPal site to make a point about this, and get it resolved, appears to be difficult.
Friends, please be patient.
First, there will be a Saker Patreon account soon.
Second, we are also looking at other solutions.
Believe me, PayPal also drives me bonkers (sigh, rolleyes).
Thanks and cheers,
The Saker
Happy anniversary, dear Saker! Thank you for your amazing blog, your tireless work, your trust in us and your stamina – it has not been easy.
We are deeply grateful to you.
Thank you Saker you have taught us , your readers , a great deal over the ten years and I for one am very grateful for that. Please keep it up .
