What you are missing in your understanding is the purpose of religion and the growth of human beings as both physical and spiritual beings. The mythology of the priest is that he represents in physical form God. He shares stories and acts as a guide for the spiritual realm. These are moral values that make us more then just physical animals. Your actual physical father, teaches you how to survive as a physical human being, what to eat, to be courageous, who to trust, ect . Both are necessary for long term survival. The idea of the perfection the spiritual realm is to leave you searching for something more then just what you find in the physical world. You should be disappointed. That is the objective. When I first came to Japan some 33 years ago, I could not see the value of this point. People feel tied down by obligations, which can be inflexible enough to make them neurotic, but social cohesion is valuable at any time. The elite don’t feel like they could get away with egregious displays of inequality; there is hope that in a crisis people will cooperate to everyone’s benefit. My heart grieves when I see what has happened to America.
When I look at my holiday photos – I look the happiest by far in Japan. I wondered why and I think it’s to do with the feeling that instead of pretty much everyone competing against you and trying to block you or use you in some way (as I have learned to feel in America after 12 or so years there) – in Japan i feel that everyone is actually trying to help not just you – but the society in general.
I stayed there 3 months last time I went there and had a chance to go to parties organized by locals (on an island close to Hiroshima) . There were hundreds of people and after most guest left the host and 10 or so of Japanese friends did everything they could to make life easier for everyone else – someone was washing dishes, another one was cleaning, the third one was making up futons for us to sleep, the girls were very sweet and had a great sense of humor… (there was nothing for me to do so I fixed a giant white bear skin hanging on the wall – it was starting to fall off) ..in LA, SF, DC etc – very few people would help – and everyone would be posing and forever irrationally competing against everyone else…focusing mostly on themselves and plotting how to use others in desperation.
I find Japanese culture the exact opposite of the American ‘culture’ (not really a culture but a greedy, fearful worshiping of psychopaths by confused, depressed, fearful slaves)

Hello Saker, I disagree with your generalization here. Even though I’m not a Catholic, I come from a Catholic culture, and I can understand its “the fine print”. Differences between popes make a huge difference on the ground, in places like Latin America, for instance.
The last two popes, John Paul II, and Bento whatever, were very conservative in a bad sense of the word. They wanted to preserve the structure and the old decrepit culture of the church and, for that reason, were very closely aligned with the powers that be in America and Western Europe. And here, I agree, they were very protected and celebrated by the Western MSM propaganda machine.
This present Pope, Francis I, is the real deal, and he chose his name Francis for a reason. And he does the bests he can to live up to it. Notice that nobody, ever in the history of papacy had chosen that name, had dared to choose that name.
There’s virtual “civil war” in the CC right now because of the changes that Francis wants to introduce, even if it reduces the mundane power of the church, on behalf of a return to the original message of Jesus. The American hierarchy of bishops is, mostly (not all), against him.

First, Traditional Catholics, don’t consider John Paul II or Benedict XVI to be great Popes outside of the popularism that generally follows John Paul II by a large sway of Catholics fed by the media that surrounded him. Both were men of the Vatican II Council, which was a grave error and turning away from what the Church always was to be – a rock against the sands of worldly progress that you, Joao, seem to be swept up in.
We love what you refer to as “the structure and the old decrepit culture of the church” precisely because it is the Truth and always will be despite how evil modern men want to cause a revolution against it. In fact, both John Paul II and Benedict XVI were part of that revolution, Benedict XVI himself being a periti to the Vatican Council II and greatly regretted much of it, which is why he took measures to protect the Church’s Tradition.

The last time the Popes said anything that mattered was prior to John XXIII.

Recently, my application for insurance for a classic car I’d bought was refused. It was a first for me and when I inquired why, I was told that the insurance company was concerned that I associate with ‘high-value individuals’.
I don’t, but even if I did, how could this possibly impact my access to insurance? The broker kindly investigated on my behalf and discovered that a robot — or more accurately an ‘automated decision-making machine’ — used by the insurance company had scoured the internet and discovered that in the distant past I’d been the motoring editor of a national newspaper.
I was no wiser as to why this might suddenly have made me a liability. ‘You might give Jeremy Clarkson a lift, have an accident in which he would be injured, and it could cost millions,’ my broker explained. It was an utterly bizarre line of reasoning. I’m no friend of Clarkson, I complained. To no avail.
The robot knew better, its logic deciding that my time as a motoring editor obviously connected me to Jeremy Clarkson, the multi-millionaire former presenter of Top Gear and the nation’s best known petrolhead who writes newspaper columns and whose name is all over the internet.
Now, not only am I designated as a risk to insure, I have ‘refused insurance’ against my name. (And I’m a ‘friend’ of Clarkson, to boot.) It’s an amusing story to dine out on, but also a sinister indication of what is happening as similar robots rapidly assume control over important aspects of our lives.
Take my friend who applied to NatWest, where he had banked for 30 years, for a small loan.
The financial adviser was apologetic: my friend would have to pay a huge rate of interest, because he had been categorised as ‘high risk’.
But why? The bank knew he always kept a healthy balance in his account and had been mortgage-free for years.
That’s the trouble, said the advisor: because my friend didn’t have a recent credit history, the decision-making robot had concluded that the only possible reason was that he was too dodgy to be trusted.
My friend said he’d try elsewhere. No point, said the adviser. Everyone uses decision-making robots now. They will all say the same thing.
And he was right. Human bank employees are no longer allowed to use common sense to over-rule the robots.
Not only are they being used to decide our access to insurance, loans and whether or not we are a decent credit risk, but they may also be influencing our employment prospects, medical treatment and tax affairs.
Even more ominously, as I shall explain, such robots may soon be ruling on whether police patrol your area, and if you are a potential criminal.
So what exactly are these robots and how do they work?
Automated decision-making engines are super-sophisticated computer programs that run on algorithms — vastly complex sets of mathematical rules — in ways that humans cannot control, let alone understand.
Once they have been programmed for a particular use — in banks, employment agencies, insurance firms, hospitals or marketing companies, for example — the robots become self-teaching, using swathes of accumulated data to make their own rulings on the lives of individuals.
Even experts in the field admit they don’t know how these ‘deep-learning’ robots reach their conclusions.
But there is already evidence to suggest that the robots can rapidly become ‘bigoted’ or ‘irrational’, making decisions that may blight people for decades.
In May, new laws come into force across Europe to try to rein back the march of the machines by making them — or rather the firms that use them — more accountable: we will be able to ask how and why robots have reached particular decisions about our lives.
But legal and scientific experts warn that this legislation will prove ineffective and inadequate — which is why I find it even more worrying that British police forces are also starting to rely on this sort of technology.

If anybody invents some really breakthrough technology computers will still be stupid machines. All the hype about artificial intelligence hides this fact. Computers maybe useful for pattern recognition, calculations and many more things, but that’s all. They are still programmed by humans and therefore include all the wrong assumptions of humans. The models used to evaluate the risk of the insured or borrower are based on statistics. A computer basically does what a human would do as well: comparing some variables of known cases and deducing that the person acts in the same way as those whose data is the basis for the variables.
People as well as machines are pretty stupid. You can try if for yourself. Dress in worn-out clothes and go into the nearest car-dealership of some exclusive brand. Probably hardly anyone of the sales personnel will bother talking to you. Then change your clothes and dress into your best suit and go into another car dealership. The probability of someone salesperson to approach you will be higher. It’s all about probability. Even this example doesn’t consider that sales personnel isn’t a homogeneous group. That’s the crux with those computer based models and the “artificial intelligence” as well. No human and no machine can estimate the future behavior, etc. of a human.
Humans should neither believe in money, nor in technology. Technology is fallible (some more and some less).

This is standard operating procedure, AFAIK.
If you don’t have debts and can be seen to be paying them off, you don’t have a credit history.
It is nuts, but it is nothign new. It seems inevitable that robots would be programmed the same way the humans have always been.
At any rate, here in the USA, you will have to take out a “credit-establishing” loan before you can get a credit card, not to mention a mortgage or other loan. Perhaps the friend should have characterized his loan request as a “credit-establishing” one.

A very bizarre and disturbing vision of the world for those of us who have never borrowed and whose credit histories are sealed to boot. But on the other hand, if that is the reality, do we even exist in some sense? A chilling thought.

While I agree with the premise that the `gender´ dialog has a purpose, (like the consumerism before it) to break down traditional structures of family and community, for a purpose of political control, why does this fellow deliver his critique in such a gay way? I´m all for freedom of intimacy in private as persons wish. Growing up in the Silicon Valley, I saw lots of sexual experimentation, license, if you will. Just like the divorce culture, there are many social and emotional downsides over time. The idea that one´s sexual expression is private has gone by the wayside. The propaganda machines have gone into overdrive selling confused adolescents gender bending nonsense, while polluting them with hundreds of pesticides and herbicides which have a gender bending effect, (as well as producing autistic symptoms, which are being normalised). Why are we allowing the poisoning of our citizens? How have we been sold on this genocidal path? Populations have shown to shrink when women are educated, we don´t need to have social policies that promote the killing of one´s own fetus. Mostly, this video shows how the mainstream media has become a propaganda mouthpiece. Thankfully, more people are seeing through this charade every day.
Down on the bottom line: the more equal society the more likely men are doing “men job” and females doing “female jobs”. Considering the amount of closet gays, probably lots of them have participated in revolutions and other violent conflicts. It may be pretty difficult to recognize each and every gay, since some of them may act like women in men’s jobs. Some women try to be tougher than the stronger sex.

I don’t think (that is, I don’t know of evidence that) homosexuality per se reduces the ability to fight or be a warrior. In fact, surely many men have fought to protect a comrade he loved on one or more levels.
There are lots of kinds of homosexuals, just as there are lots of kinds of lesbians. So I read/hear. That is my imporession. There is no doubt that many homosexuals are seductive and are very attractive to woman and others hold zero attraction for women.

The first couple of years when PJW he started out (seems like long ago) he would have some good reporting once in a while. Not very often, even then. Along the way, he must have learned the beauty of increasingly moronic simplifications, and the the sex-appeal of speaking in the permanently worked up style exhibited by chiwawas. Now, judging by one of his latest videos, he is at the level of promoting “scientific” studies that prove how political orientation correlates with beauty and sex-appeal. Conservativism lends its bearers a definite attraction. The moment they start being affected by the virus of “communism” and kindred diseases, that is when repulsive ugliness begins to take hold of their features, an irreversible process.
Well, I find it rather offputting to have to put up with this idiot’s mug on this site, so maybe he has a point about the correlation of physical appeal with mental traits, but not the way he thinks. It is not really political views that affect the looks of a person. What really affects it is intelligence.
