With any media narrative I believe it is important to ask who benefits? If the narrative is “Ukraine is a mess, stay away,” then Moscow benefits primarily on the propaganda front because:
*NATO’s omnipotence narrative is exposed as false
*NATO’s “genocidal Russians” narrative is gradually weakened
*Donations for Ukraine (I saw the appeal for red Cross Ukrainian victims at Canadian Tire this morning) may increasingly be scrutinised
*Morale amongst foreign volunteers, & thus NATO population inevitably declines
*Corruption among Ukrainian bureaucrats gets more exposure, thus confirming what Russia has been saying all along
Tactically I doubt the decrease in the number of foreign mercenary infantry has too much effect on the Russian military; Russian airforce probably saves a few caliber cruise missiles & a bit of jet fuel.
I doubt there are Russian actors that speak North American English currently within Russia that can make such a fake video. Could Russian forces have captured some Canadian or American mercenaries & coerce one to make such a video? Stranger things have happened before…
That sounds pretty legit to me. We’ve heard other Russian stories of how the Ukrainians act. So I think this guy is telling the truth. Hopefully idiots in the West falling for that “poor pitiful Ukraine” nonsense will see this and learn something.On another related note. I saw a report that a well know Canadian sniper went to Mariupol. And already got permanently “denazified” there.

I think it’s good to question everything. But, for me, this one passes the smell test. Hard to say for certain, but I posted it on social media.

There’s a video on Twitter of someone downplaying Henry’s statement. Seems like damage control. The guy in this video is saying that Henry failed to pass their “vetting process” (LOL) and attempts to refute any lack of ammo or weapons in their organization. He seems to get Henry’s last name wrong but it helped me to track down the article above.

Well, he’s definitely not a Western asset. His story doesn’t fit the narrative.
Russian? I’ve heard that back in the Cold War days, the USSR had excellent language schools.
From his vocal pacing, I can tell that some things he says are third party knowledge. Like cutting up passports, and easier escaping in cars.
But his main story? No guns, low ammo, escaping across the border? I believe him.

In regards to being sent to Kiev without weapons, the weapons may be stored there. Or Henry and his dozen friends may have been used for body count pro West news. Unknown.
I’m sure that the Ukrainians are screening evacuees for military deserters. That may explain the situation at the border.
From reading Henry’s background article, I get the sense that Henry is a bit too Millenial.

The information I got is that the average foreign Ukrainian conscript is between 35-55yo, less than half with military experience, from which less than 20% with some combat experience. Just a bunch of old freaking wannabes with death wish.
Basically the Ukrainian foreign legion is an assisted suicide cult.

There is a this same video and a second one with a similar message. Both people look genuinely shocked to me. Stolzuntermenschen are arguing on the basis of these two (and other sources?? – not specified) that the destruction at Yarovorsky was “much, much larger than originally reported, possibly numbering in the many thousands. Of course, all numbers must be treated with caution.” He even claims that the strikes seem to have been to many other NATO joint bases in Ukraine besides Yarovorsky.
The latter is plausible in one sense: “Official western sources will understate and deny. Russia will remain silent.” The proximity of Yarovorsky to Poland might be the only reason why the West admits it happened at all.From Russia’s point of view, if they hit Yarovorsky as hard as these claims indicate, why not do the same to all the other NATO bases? It certainly sends a very potent message to the US if that is what they are doing.
From the original “35 dead” to here-claimes “possibly many thousands” is a hefty discrepancy, even bigger than the Ukrainian Russian-fighter-jet-shootdown claims. I wonder how much supporting evidence there is for the stolzuntermenschen claims.
Once the critical phase of the Ukraine operation is tied up, Russia will start maneuvers for Phase 2 of the “NATO retreat” goals – whether Poland, Romania, Syria, or whatever. At that stage the impact of these strikes on NATO bases in Ukraine – by then probably still covered up – will start having their effects on Western reactions (accentuated by sanctions blowback).
On the allegation of volunteers being sent to fight in Kiev with no weapons or with virtually no ammunition – maybe these volunteers are intended to be “crisis actors” (gone live) for a planned chemical weapons attack?
Would be “cheaper” victims than real Ukrainian victims from the Ukrainian point of view, as the Ukrainians would clearly prefer to kill foreigners than their own; and it would seem to enhance the [microscopic] “plausibility” as a target for the Russians from the point of view of western MSM. Maybe even helps enhance the “outrage” of the western response theatre. That some of the volunteers managed to escape alive would somewhat tarnish those rusty claims.
Here in Brazil, some crazy nazis (I never believed I would see this, brasilian nazis! It would be ridiculous if it was not tragic), supporters of bolsonaro went to Ukraine and volunteered in a so called `foreigners legion`. The video shows one of them in a bus, fleeing to Poland after that legion was destroyed by a russian atack :
