Unfortunately, not a day goes by without negative news involving migrants or ones who come to work from republics of the northern Caucasus. Right now, the focus will go on the latest one. Which, contrast to migrants, are citizens of the Russian Federation.
I published posts on my Telegram channel of a video of the brutal beating of a Russian guy, 25 year old Roman Kovalev by three Dagestanis which came to Moscow to make money. I know for a fact that there [on Telegram] the video will not be deleted. And in general, a lot of videos on YouTube and other social medias that get banned for different reasons are often on Telegram. And my channel there (Осташко! Важное) is becoming a more and more independent source of information. I explain this all separately because I don’t know how YouTube will handle the video of the beating. We’ll try to censor the punches themselves and the pool of blood and bleep the profanities. But even after that we don’t have full confidence that YouTube won’t put a limit for this clip. The beating was definitely brutal. Already, the guy laying on the ground was getting kicks to the head – deliberate and purposeful.

The conflict happened after Roman made a comment to the Dagestanis that were pestering a girl in the metro. According to eyewitnesses, a few phrases from Roman were enough to get the hot-headed Caucasus guys to start the beating. Herewith, they were openly threatening other passengers in the wagon that if someone interferes, they will beat them too. For the sake of objectivity, there was nobody willing to step in for Roman. In the video, the indignant screams of women can be heard. I don’t know if during this time there were other men in this wagon. I imagine that there were, but nobody really helped Roman. This is a separate and important topic to our common collective and on the quality of Russian society. But right now, the conversation is about something else.
From the moment of our video’s drafting, all three of the bastards have been detained. Two of them had to be suppressed during the arrest.The fate of the third, so far the information is not there yet. But hopefully he will also not be able to simply leave [Moscow.] The main suspect is undergoing the 2nd Article of the 213 Criminal Code – Hooliganism. They are threatened with a fine from 50,000-1,000,000 rubles ($705-$14,109), or compulsory work of up to 5 years, or imprisonment for up to 7 years. I hope that the consequences will very quickly understand that this is no hooliganism. Instead, it is attempted murder composed of a criminal group. Or as a minimum, deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm. These are more serious articles. But this is not what I want to talk about right now.
Roman Kovalev is right now in a hospital in a very difficult condition. Neither his close ones or friends are allowed to visit him. Roman is a worker at a Moscow bar. He is athletic with very positive characteristics. A decent, honest strong-willed character. He is a non-contentious, he does not even say obscenities his colleagues say. Roman, brother, you are a hero to us. And are an example of real manly behavior. We wish you health, and a quick and maximum recovery from your injuries. Neither I or my subscribers know you in person. But I am confident that each one of us has words of thankfulness to your response. Heal up and get better, we need you. Now I will speak from the heart, and with respect to the Dagestanis and other nationalities of the northern Caucasus. Which is why I want to address to the authoritative people from the ancient Caucasus, in particular to Ramzan Kadyrov and Khabib Nurmagomedov, since they are the undoubted voices there.
Ethnic Dargin – Magomed Nurbagandov from Dagestan became an example for the whole country of manifesting a steel will and iron character. Who, even after being pointed at with assault rifles, said a phrase that went into our common history – “Continue working, brothers.” Since my childhood, I was taught that a man in the Caucasus is raised like Magomed. What has happened to you, where those like Nurbagandov are becoming more rare? But more and more often, we are seeing bastards like these. Who in a trio go up and bother a lone lady, and then as a trio beat up a guy who tried to defend her. Why is it that so often, young people that are representative of your nationalities behave themselves like this in other Russian cities, not when they are at home, but explicitly in other cities, most often in Moscow, behave as washed-up scum and bastards?
Is this the result of being raised by their fathers like this? Or is this a public demonstration of their derogatory relationship to Russian people? Or maybe this is a public demonstration of the true attitudes of Caucasian Muslims towards Orthodox Christians, huh? And here is the most important question to you. What in this situation should we do? To regular Russian men, in your opinion? With respect, and a hope for some answers, from a regular Russian Orthodox Christian man – Ruslan Ostashko.
Same story could be written countless times in Pariz, London, Malmo…Probably young immigrants thus act out their negative feelings against supposedly “unfair” society where they do not form majority.
I am afraid that it is more complex than that.

My observation from western Europe is that the interaction between culture and sexuality plays a big role. Young Muslim men without easy access to women at home (due to culture and religion) end up sexually frustrated. That’s fine when they’re embedded within their culture because lots of 2nd or later sons are in the same position (relatedly, my guess is that lots of muslim terrorists are 2nd+ sons without much hope of their parents being able to afford the dowry for a wife).
However, when these young men visit the west (or are sent to the west by the family), they see unescorted pretty young sensual women everywhere and expect them to be sexually available to them – just as they assume they’re easily available to the local men.
Their advances are usually rejected, their frustration increases and eventually it turns to anger. Then they begin to dehumanise women labelling them as sluts for teasing them. Eventually rape becomes legitimised in their mind.
This corresponds to what I have noticed over the years. Western girls in shorts or sleeveless blouses attract the attention of young guys when they cycle around in rural villages here. young guys want to prove how “brave” they are and drive up to the girls sometimes touching them. One has to admit that it says something about the way woman are considered in some cultures and not only in Muslim countries mind you. The guys in the video would have watched 100s of hours of western TV and will have no illusions as to how women in the west dress and behave without signalling that they’re prostitutes. That said (and to ruin my last sentence), back in the 80s I picked up a Saudi guy from the airport and on the trip to the office he commented on all of the prostitutes gathered on every street corner. I had to explain to him that workplace smoking had just been banned so the groups of women standing on the street were having a 10-minute break from office work. He was doubtful.

As for why do people not help…it’s complicated….I was recently sent an extremely violent car jacking video which showed people standing around, watching a couple being being beaten up inside their own car by four attackers in the middle of a four lane street.. Afterwards, an eyewitness explained that nobody stepped in because the attackers were armed with semi -automatic weapons….All they could do was wait, until the attackers drove off, to then help the victims & drive them to the nearest hospital.
Even if you carry a gun, you’d still have to know how to use it…and use it well in those situations.

Defending is much harder than attack even when the odds are even. The ‘rules’ are set so that armed criminal groups can reign as long they are not done in by the armed forces of the State – The Police or the Army – as simple as that.
If a ‘sheep’ decides to arm itself adequate, it runs a very, very high risk of ending in a prison and or in a grave. I think in most european states even the possesion of tear-gas is prohibited, as are knives and of course guns, many most of the aggressive migrants are of course armed adequate with knives at least.
In case a bystander prevents an offender from molesting a woman, by the use of force he most likely will end up in jail, and in the ensuing proceedings will have very bad cards because the system is rigged fix in favor of the minority groups – an avalanche of NGOs etc. will put potential or real pressure on the relevant State entities, NOT in the reversed situation – for many reasons, not last in the name of law and order not loosing control of an already tight situation, and thus supressing negative publicity. We can see that very, very clearly in Germany for instance – where a mass slaughter took place in Würzburg, one chopping to pieces using a large slaughter knive, three women and injuring (severly) nine other persons. There was no uproar of any kind, and there was total silence immediatly. If you look up Würzburg several kinve attacks had been recorded since then. If all of the perpetrators would be german males, with right wing affiliation, it would be treated as an attack on the State with very, very harsh measures being introduced immediatly.
Thus the violence is a structural element of the current western narrative part and partial of it. The people must endure it, because it’s for the greater good of being ‘good’, being replaced slowly but steadily by migrants – that is ordered to happen in Europe. You are very wrong. It is the ‘identity/religion of the perpetrators which is relevant in this case. And you won’t make the problem go away if you want ‘equalize’ the blame.
That is the main problem of Russia. Governors of local federal states hold power over their population. There is no centralized power, but a loose federation. Then also the Marrakesh Agreement on Migrants. If Russia wants to teach its neighbors who come to live in Russia how to respect it (not only her bounding parts), it will not get it so that Russia will respect their schools and their rules that their people enforce in those regions/countries. But should force its own. When you are in Rome, act like a Roman. Similar to Soviet era where these all people participated in the creation of a common society. If you have two independent states and an agreement on free movement between the two of them, Russia cannot formally condition these states on what norms their people will respect. That is why, when joining the EU, great care is taken to ensure that at least one generation learns about the laws that are implemented in those same countries ten or twenty years before joining the EU. That is why it is necessary for Russia to find Modus Vivendi what union means, what centralized power means. But it is ALSO true that these three singled out an ethnic Russian for telling them not to be rude to a ethnic Russian lady. Thus, the issue of ethnicity here is not neither central nor avoidable. The fact that these thugs came from a Muslim republic (and that is ambiguous too, I get that) in the minds of many Russians will beg the question which Ostashko asks of those who raised them: how do you want us to deal with them?
That question is legitimate and the basis for a very important and very needed dialog.

Your explicit assumption is that they targeted an ‘ethnic Russian’ rather than a girl; vile but not the same. Also your assumption is that they beat an ‘ethic Russian’ rather than just another man who probably made them feel small because they knew he was right.
Minorities everywhere face this bigoted majority attitude that imposes negative ‘characteristics’ on the whole minority for an criminal act. They are 3 criminals, period. Beating up an old lady is gross and also inhumane even if she was saying something offensive but we have to keep on mind one thing which is relevant today more than any other time is that people specially minorities are over sensitive. How to deal with them? Punish them for their crime of being aggressive and violent to another human being and even investigate it properly as to what transpired that ugly event.

I want you to know that my initial in posting this video, and have it translated, was NOT to point even an indirect finger at Islam or Muslims. Two simple factoids can explain that:
1) The thugs who beat up that man were totally drunk (so much for their “Islam”)
2) If they did that in Grozny or Makhachkala they would have been severely punished by the locals under both Russian law and Sharia law.
My intention was to show that in Russia problem with IMMIGRATION (Muslim or not) can be openly discussed and that the reaction of a Russian Orthodox Christian like Ruslan Astashko was to directly appeal to Muslim authorities in the republics these thugs came from. What he is basically asking is this: will you reign in these animals or shall we do it ourselves.
This is an important question which does need to be answered.
There were (and still are) often major problems with, for example, Chechens in Moscow (and elsewhere outside Chechnia). The reaction of Ahmad Kadyrov? Send them down here to Chechnia and we will teach them what honor, manhood or faith really mean! And we all know that he does mean business.
I will write more about this in a future article about issues of immigration, but I want you to know that I, having lived literally next to a big mosque for 20 years or so would NEVER blame such behavior on real, God-fearing, Muslims. Lastly, the young man in question did survive his ordeal, he was even shown on national TV last Sunday (if I remember correctly). As far as I know, Dagestanis are men of ethics, tough warriors. When I begun to read the article my first association was, who else – Magomed. This kind of thing is a common occurrence in America. A woman was recently raped by a Black African immigrant on a metro train in Philadelphia and no one stepped in to stop it. I think that young men in particular start acting like wild animals when they know no one is going to stop them. Perhaps I’m mistaken but I think I understand where Ostashko’s commentary goes. I, for one, would like to see legislative action to make parents and family responsible for the behaviour of the animals they raise. They should be subject to fines, and maybe other penalties but the real object of the law would be to shame them and most would likely fear this more then the loss of money. I know this contradicts the principle of individual responsibility in favour of collective judgements but there are substantial arguments to support such a move. This is a big subject – for some other time. But the point here is not to punish parents and family but rather to strengthen their hands. I hope this is obvious.
We know what a substantial part of the problem really is. Fathers are not raising their children any more. More and more these days they have no authority. That needs to change and this is one way to do it. As well, even garbage like these three might be deterred from their sub human actions if they knew that their parents and families would be publicly shamed back home. But again, the point is to strengthen the hands of parents and community leaders. Young guys need to be taught. It’s too simple and too obvious to say that but it’s so true. The young guys need to be taken in hand and taught, overtly, with authority, the difference between right and wrong. And the teachers need to match their words with actions. I looked at history and was disgusted by it but only God can look into the future and therefore we can put it back in his hands.
Nikolai Patrushev, part of the National Security Committee recently spoke about the problem of migrants and minorities and the government is thinking of finding solutions to the case. but generally it would be better for the communities and families of the members involved to decide what to do.

The “white Western judeo-Christian world” does not include Russia. “Judeo-Christian” is a concept developed by American Christianity and later adopted by the Vatican. Nor is Russia “Western” but generally considered a different civilization.
As for criminal identification I am not sure if this is directly connected. Personally I think the identity of a criminal should be disclosed, regardless of religion or skin color. These latter should not be primary information, but they are often important. But to jump from this issue to a “religious civilizational war transcending time” sounds very hyperbolic.
The “judeo-Christian world” (even here many thinkers could take issue with this) may be or may not be against Islam. But Russia has never historically been part of this.

You are very correct Saker regarding the trope “judeo-christian” that was only invented by the Americans after World War II as a fig leaf to the Jews who were now rising up as the rulers of America.
However, I use the term the same way that the Western media, academia and polity use it. As they say in this neck of the woods what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
Islam is in fact a sub-product of a “Judeo-Christian” vision of the world. The ‘Judeo-Christians’ were all the sects who, while accepting the historicity of the Messiah-ship and Prophet-hood of Jesus Christ, denied that He was God.
Of course, “white Western judeo-Christian world” does not include Russia. But it does include…Islam!

Violence is frightening, it is a massacre of an already helpless man, the condemnation of punishment should be draconian, because this is a crime, because there is not the slightest human basis, complete terror to the extreme.
It could be that during the long and tortuous migration process, agents of a destabilizing power could be encouraging the more macho males to do what they want, claiming wimpy westerners/Russians will be incapable of dealing with it.
Maybe to discourage this, any crimes of violence should have two tariffs, one for citizens and one for foreigners at say twice the rate, or same rate at Black Dolphin. The message will eventually get back.
If they have not done so already, it seems like high profile Russian Moslems like Khatib Nurmagomedov (i.e. former UFC fighter) and Ramzan Kadirov need to speak up & condemn such violence. One of those 2 men would also be well placed to chair a commission to address the grievances between Moslem & non-Moslem Russian citizens. It is critical that social cohesion within Russia be maintained, because Russia cannot allow NATO’s NGOs to exploit this incident to divide & conquer Russian society!
Two things I would like to point out. Depravity cuts across race and religion – that much is certain. So the author starting to question on the identity of the attackers borders on xenophobia – what’s not familiar to me, whenever it goes wrong, makes an impact far more devastating than normal.
Secondly, perhaps it sounds heartless to most folks but the older i become the more I think before I act. The circumstance is heart wrenching. I look at it this way. If I gauge my ability is not going to resolve anything but potentially going to cause harm to myself I would, like most people, not incline to act. It is pure self preservation. Life is fundamentally extremely cruel.
The incident reminds me of the scene in the movie Brat (Brother), when the soldier sees two Dagestanis robbing someone at the back of the bus, and he draws his handgun t stop them.
Anyone who kicks an unconscious man in the head, 3 times no less, is guilty of attempted Murder/Manslaughter so the punishment must fit the crime.
A possible solution for the Caucasus might be to have more worthy role models for their youth, like the inestimable Gusein Magomaev. So perhaps Moscow could sponsor branches of ‘Five Directions of the World’ throughout the region (maybe with the help of China’s Hui community).

The solution here is simple for Russian Police. First this question: Do you want to see the same conditions we have here in North America? If not- than swift and sure consequences are what deters this kind of violence.
Since violence is all people like this kind understands- than the response is simple; You’re Not Going To Do This to my people in my Country.
