Trump Is Withdrawing From NATO “Under Putin’s Orders” by Ruslan Ostashko
Translated and captioned by Leo.
“Trump is discussing withdrawal from NATO,” says the frightening American headline in The New York Times. No, so far it didn’t say “from Putin’s orders”, but Russia, of course, is mentioned.
It seems that the Democrats have invented a new horror story for the American electorate. This is exactly how it can be interpreted through a serious publication on the topic of how the US President is discussing the country’s withdrawal from the NATO bloc the US itself created. In the first sentence… not even the full sentence, but in the first ten words, if we count the beginning text of the publication, they mention… Putin.
I think you understand in which tone.
“There are few things that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia desires more than the weakening of NATO, the military alliance among the United States, Europe and Canada that has deterred Soviet and Russian aggression for 70 years. Last year, President Trump suggested a move tantamount to destroying NATO: the withdrawal of the United States.”
In this “insider”, the newspaper refers to unnamed “high-ranking officials of the administration”, who reported on several statements about the withdrawal from NATO made by Trump in private conversations in 2018.
After numerous references to the actions of the head of the United States, aimed at knocking out defense expenditures from European vassals, The New York Times bluntly writes:
“The president’s repeatedly stated desire to leave NATO is raising new worries among national security officials amid growing concern about Mr. Trump’s efforts to keep his meetings with Mr. Putin secret even from his own aides, and an FBI investigation into the administration’s Russia ties.”
Bingo, basically. Trump’s communication with the Kremlin can be considered proven.
In fact, of course, the actions of the head of the White House are fully explained by domestic political and psychological motives. My friend and colleague Ivan Danilov remarked on this issue that Trump behaves exactly the same as he did when concluding his business deals.
“The negotiating position of the American leader boils down to the following principle, which he honed since his work in the field of New York real estate: Trump has to receive all (that’s all) possible benefits, otherwise the transaction will not take place, despite all the likely losses for Trump himself. Such a cowboy approach can sometimes work in business, when you can again and again move away from deals, hoping to eventually find a weak partner, investor or client who can be bent to the fullest. In geopolitics, such an approach does not work – the planet is too small, and weak-minded fools among planetary and even regional politicians is very small. There exists a serious likelihood that such an uncompromising and, if you call things by their real name, this goon approach will ultimately lead to NATO’s actual collapse, from one side, Germany and France are working hard to create a “European army”, but the President of the United States may in actuality decide that the best way to solve a problem is to loudly slam the door.”
Yes, Trump’s psychology can’t be discounted. But the matter, I believe, is not only in it. It’s important to not forget what kind of power group represents the head of the USA. These are isolationists from among the tycoons attached to real production. They do not need all these American bases scattered around the planet. Because these bases are devouring resources and giving support to the opponents of isolationists – the globalists.
The best way to undermine the position of globalists is to deprive them of the opportunity to interfere in the affairs of other states. No, the isolationists themselves don’t mind robbing someone, but now they see that the USA has been weakened, and the robbery has ceased to succeed. And that means – they need to abandon it, at least for a while. Refuse it in order to save money and regain strength. That is, globalists want to play the old way, raising interest rates on borrowed money from the Federal Reserve System. The isolationists however understand that there is no place to inflate the stakes further – you can even lose everything.
This is where Trump’s tough position on the EU arises: either give billions to defense – that is, pay for the maintenance of NATO’s military machine in Europe, or walk into the forest. The European Union clearly demonstrates that it is not planning to pay. And that is why the US withdrawal from NATO is a very real perspective.
No, this is not “orders from Putin.” Yes, it is beneficial to Russia. But it is also beneficial to the USA themselves. But not for the fattened from two world wars, global America which as a result rattled the Middle East and overstrained itself. But the one inhabited by the notorious rednecks, residents of the American heartland. They don’t need these wars, because from there they send home coffins wrapped with stars and striped flags, as well as disabled people placed on painkillers. Basically, ready drug addicts. And they need them to work again in the factories of General Motors and Ford, so that American companies do not destroy jobs in the interests of global business and stuff like that.
That is, the interests of the isolationist Trump and his “support group” in this completely coincide with the interests of ordinary Republican voters. I suspect that they are not against putting up the “iron curtain” and building walls – and not only with Mexico, but also with Canada as well.
Do they need this NATO hanging weight on their leg? They don’t. But the blame on why America has screwed up in its aggressive foreign policy, is of course, as you know, because of Putin. For infantile people, there is always someone else who is guilty, but only not themselves.
Let the russian/iranian/syrian alliance win in Syria.
Let Nordstrem 2 be completed – as it practically is.
Let another wave of immigrants come up from Africa. Or simply let the remainder europeans understand that Russia keeps their promises and deals exactly as agreed… whilst the Indispensablistan does exactly the opposite.
And above let China rise before everyones’ eyes on what really matters: the western way, the neocon capitalist way IS NO LONGER THE BENCHMARK for any developing nation in any corner of the world. Neither in economy nor in political organization of society. It obviously turned out to become the anti bench mark, this time for its turn shining on the hill…
The collapse of the empire ´s world order can be as rapid as an approching storm from the east.
Don’t worry Trump will be drawn into the ME quagmire whether he likes it or not.
A very nicely articulated analysis. It is so satisfying watching the American capitalist ruling classes arrange themselves into a circular firing squad. It serves to educate the people. It is further heartwarming to see graffiti painted on a car repair business here in the pacific northwest with the two words; “Putin’s Base”. The unrepresented masses know. It is so easy to understand why the American capitalists demonize Putin. There is a multiplicity of reasons. And they cut very deep. One being the pigs know in their sick and fearful hearts that so many Americans would love to be able to vote for Putin.
Mr. Putin is a white Christian male hence easy or Democrats to demonize. All demoncrats are terrified the LGBT Inquisition well come after them so afraid to say anything rational about Putin. Author is right NATO giant waste of money for USA. The MIC wants more spending regardless o0f international situation, so USA will probably stay in NATO till economy collapses.
As always, thanks to Leo for the translation and sub-titles. Work that is appreciated!
I note in this video far less acerbic sarcasm and a deliberate analysis by Ruslan Ostashko.
He delves into the mind and style of Trump and the domestic elite power games related to NATO/MIC.
Of course, from our side of the ocean we know that NATO and the US are one. Just different uniforms for the divisions of cannon fodder-Europeans. NATO won’t go away before the Hegemon is greatly diminished.
However, NATO is not a viable restraint on Russia. Putin has Central Asia and the Far East as NATO-free areas, regardless of the big talk that NATO will impact those security areas of the RF.
The Russia Super Power strategy began with Syria. Putin has coaxed Iran, Turkey, and Iraq to join it in the geopolitical moves Russia is shaping. Egypt and Libya, and even Saudi Arabia and UAE are pliable to Putin’s efforts. Further south, Sudan and Central African Republic are now close to Russia for economic and military reasons. Though CENTCOM and AFRICOM are the major forces in these regions, NATO is not.
So, what has happened is regional. NATO, hoped by the US to be everywhere, is crawling back into its West Europe shell, with preposterous outposts in the East European border areas next to Russia. If conflict should ever break out, these would all be catastrophic first losses, and NATO experts know it.
Weapons have changed. NATO has not. The US is beginning a ten year splurge of spending to try to catch up to what the Russians have. Meanwhile, Europeans will resist as best they can Trump’s demands to spend more money on useless American weapons. More money for less protection in a potential war it cannot win is not a good deal. NATO would not even be a speed bump if such a war broke out. They have no missile defenses that can stop Russian missiles. It is that simple.
Both the US of A , and the EU are so overloaded with debt , in 2020 latest the current situation will be forgotten and
the Western Economies will resemble burnt Toast , and Millions of Westerners will be riling against against the Capitalist system …..
Sounds like RO has bought at least some of the trump con. He makes some very interesting points outside of those regarding trump, though.
I’ll give an example of the trump con. His noise about nato and the noise his “opposition” makes about what trump might do. Non of these are going to drop nato, it’s their main enforcer tool for military aggression and internal cohesion. The trump whines, and the opposition “panic” he might leave nato is all phony. It is psywar, designed to actually instigate support for mato and its aggressive use to enforce zpc/nwo power. IE: bad trump will wreck nato, we must oppose this and intensify nato support.
You have so much passion invested in those eternal, insane conflict premises of yours, vot tak, that I am actually concerned that you might be very sorely disappointed if they were proven erroneous by subsequent events.
Which I hope they are.
But I also hope that if Reason does prevail, you have a “soft landing” in your disappointment
I think the Russian in the video has a more balanced, realistic view of the matter, and may even realize that besides discouraging violent conflict with adequate military and other civilizational defense, being as anti-Trump as the most insanely anti-Russian Democrats….neocons and DeepState RINOs…while emotionally gratifying (somehow…..LOL…..) may not best serve the cause of Reason….and the interests of the Majority of Humanity at Large.
Which is to outgrow such dangerous and childish nonsense, IMHO.
i think there’s a better calculation at play here. if NATO disbands, an European Army has to be created and this has to be armed. Who better to sell them products than the MIC?

The Davos meeting started today, 22 Jan 2018. Economic uncertainties are being discussed – the OECD expressed worries about the erosion of incomes in the developed countries; yet, the owners of the 1500 private jets in Davos do not seem to be worried… According to CNBC, in the absence of President Donald Trump, “Brazil’s populist leader is widely expected to take center stage at the forum.” Could Brazil once again carry the bulk of the recession on its back (the coup d’état of 2016 opened the doors of the country for ‘investments’)? Unlikely, if income distribution in the consumer countries is a bottle neck…
However, something else happened, today, as well: Germany and France pledged to defend each other in a new treaty. They seem to know that NATO is going to be dismantled; so, the transnational elite obviously decided that something had to be done. Without their military arm, the globalists would lose control of the world (Macron obviously want to be seen as the modern Napoleon)! Now, why did Merkel take that decision, considering that she will leave her post, soon? Who are the Germans going to fight, and for who?
Yes, ‘the rich’ still control their businesses and nobody has deprived them from the spoils, yet; however, the clock is ticking…
What’s interesting here is the Canadian perspective on NATO. (This is anecdotal from a news junkie.) At times in previous decades, the Canadian people have complained loudly about keeping an expensive military, and participating in all these training exercises overseas with European countries. No longer a colony, this country had no need to participate in all this militarism. Through the national broadcaster, Canada’s national defense establishment is very specific at times. Non-Scandinavian continental Europe is a direct, ongoing military threat to Canada and the North Atlantic Ocean is no deterrent, they tell us. So part of protecting Canada is following the European militaries around to keep track of what they are doing (or something like that.) The US won’t defend us, if attacked, because then the USSR/Russians will have to get involved and this becomes dangerously close to direct military confrontation between the two superpowers and no one wants that. (NORAD is to defend in case anyone is crazy enough to attack all of North America.) With the talk of dissolving NATO, Brexit, and the European army, this brings up the military threat to Canada from Europe (which hasn’t gone away) into sharper focus. (With Canada’s national defense, it’s important to watch what they do, not what they say, to determine who really is perceived as a threat. It’s not North Korea.) Anyway, it’s ironic because Europeans talk about how vulnerable they are because of insufficient military protection, whereas here Europe is seen as very dangerous!!
You must have vital inside information on what Canada percieves as a threat………….Europe?? Did a tour with NATO in the mid 70’s, spent time in and out of uniform on both sides of the pond and never heard of a Europeeon threat to ‘Canada’. Canada is isolated, oceans on two sides and frozen tundra as far as the eye can see to the North. Scorched earth would stop any advance in days, if not hours (worked for the Russians). Canada’s weak spots are a few choice choke points along it’s southern border, so the only real threat is from the Latinos, once they take care of our sothern neighbours.
Canada is not a soverign nation, can’t defend itself without a ‘pretty please’ to mommy. Papa Trudeau’s days of an independant Canada are long gone, when Harper changed the names of all branches of the Armed Forces back to ‘Royal’…………..you get the picture……………..the treats are not to Canada but jolly old England.
I know how it sounds but there was a real popular movement blossoming here to create some innovative alternative (pacifist) to traditional military defence. The popular view was that neither USSR/Russia or the USA would allow anyone to invade us, and therefore, we had a unique opportunity on the globe to not participate in the usual military defense. Especially a Navy seemed expensive and unnecessary. (I still get excited remembering this – it seemed so possible.) In no uncertain terms, the nation’s broadcaster informed the populace that with no strong military, there is no country here. And the Navy is not optional – we are not isolated. We must defend our borders, our coastline… from Europe, first and foremost. NATO is our excuse for keeping in touch with their military activities, (and I think this still is where most of our resources go.) It’s funny because it’s so out of sync with popular opinion.
Maybe this was before Justin got elected.
It was well before then. Pre-1990’s (which I guess would make it the 80’s!!) Remember all those Nordic social democracies with our rock-solid allegiance to each other, politically speaking? That places like Washington, New York, Paris, Tokyo and London decided were for losers and needed to be replaced with more progressive winning political systems?? Sigh. There was a left. There was an anti-war movement.
One more comment about the education through the national broadcaster back then, explaining to us why we can’t be neutral like our ally, Sweden. First off, we were told that no one in Europe, not even Lichtenstein, sees us as equal to an old world European country. We could be re-made into a colony at any moment, and the prevailing sentiment would be that it’s just the natural order of things. Secondly, in this 150 year old country, with our lumberjack and Hudson’s Bay culture, we were very easily awed by the European elites with their palaces and silk suits and elegant speeches about human rights and such. Whereas with the American elites, we could actually smell their dirty laundry (Vietnam) if the wind was blowing the right direction, we tended to hero worship the European upper crusties. So we were put on notice that these are not nice people and when they come here, they have another agenda. (Shock. Stunned silence from the populace.) The appropriate response to their visits is suspicion, not excitement. I’ve never forgotten that. :-) At least that’s how I remember it.
I can’t resist one last installment of this. So shortly after this pivotal moment, some of Europe’s finest sent an invitation to the sovereign and independent nation of Canada, to join their European brethren in some kind of political gathering, steeped in history, tradition, and refinement. Our government responded equally graciously: of course, Canada would be honoured to participate, we’re flattered, thank you! The delegation sent was from Canada’s military. While I had accepted the warning about Europe’s elites operating with deceit, I wasn’t so sure about being represented by military officers. But they were great: distinguished, gracious, articulate, intelligent. I waited for the CBC (Canada’s national broadcaster) to tell me all about the European meeting. :-) For a while after, Canada frequently sent military officers as representatives to European events.
When it comes to Trump, I am not sure what to think, as I have read many contradictory articles.
When it comes to NATO, it should have been dismantled back in 1989, when the Warsaw Pact collapsed, and all the money consumed by NATO should have been directed towards Western infrastructure. It was not. The globalists had their eyes on Russia, it’s break up and plunder. NATO has been reduced to the level of a Praetorian Guard of private bankers and corporations, hoping to use it against Russia. Waste of time and money. Nothing will be achieved.
What is dangerous is that here we have simple psychology. The globalists know that two world wars were fought in Europe, and they seem to be under the impression that Europe is willing to fight World War Three for their benefit, which quite simply is not the case. Europe is sick of wars. You will not find too many people who are willing to fight Russia, certainly not for the benefit of of Wall Street.
The smartest thing Trump could do is to pull the US out of NATO, dismantle the organization, and direct all the money that is wasted on NATO into US infrastructure. The question is does he want to do this, and if so, can he do it ? Does he have the strength to go against the Deep State in the US, which has trouble curtailing it’s plundering ways ? We shall see. Time is the factor.

While reading this article I could not help but remember my late mother’s favorite joke. She admittedly had a most strange sense of humor.
A man walks into a restaurant and orders a bowl of spaghetti with lots of sauce. When the waitress brings it out, he picks it up in his hands and starts rubbing it into his hair. The waitress, startled, asks him why he is doing that, to which he replies, “It’s to keep the elephants away.” The waitress remarks that there are no elephants to be seen, to which he replies, “See how well it works.”
So much for the Soviet / Russian invasion over the last 70 odd years.
Wes Mitchell, nuland’s successor, resigned his position to “spend more time with his family.”
Nuland, of course was the hand maiden of Maiden in Kiev. Mitchell has not been in the job long and initially came out with fairly assertive statements about the future of Europe and of course the “Russian threat.”
Speculation as to what this means is probably meaninlgless at this time but it clearly, at least to me, seems like a surprise and a reduction of rhetoric aimed at the “Russian Threat.”
Nuland, a member of the Kagan war for profit family, was all over Europe after her “success” in Kiev: Armenia, Greece, the Baltics, Balkans, mitchell was less active in the agitation sphere.
One possible aspect is that the Europeans no longer view themselves as ready fodder for the machinations of pomp, bolton, et al. As we must do, wait and see.

Expect false flag CW attacks paired instantly with any counterstrike by Syria…
The chemical weapons false flags in Syria were plaaned long ago with hopes of reaping the fullest reward in days yet to come. Expect binary type compounds resembling the binary compounds alleged in the Skripal affair…and expect similarities to those studied and worked with by the OPCW in 2016 and Iran.
They have planned from the start to bind Russia Iran Syria to the CW cross so that any response by Syria or Russia involving strikes on the “entity’s” ground combined with likely loss of life resulting from CW false flaggings will be used to take the gloves off. They want to reduce Damascus to a smoking ruin. To do that they plan to use nukes. To buy the high ground they have planned this standoff between the Powers facing each other in Syria. They planned Trump’s career. The built his psyche. They knew his soft spots. And the got him over the line. They planned the circumstances surrounding him today long ago.
He will be forced to attack the Resistance Axis in Syria.
Global war is all but upon us.
Reasonably detailed discussion on the fraud that was and is NATO’s advance to the east: (as translated via google):

Could not get that… Got the ‘English’ toggle at the top right, but only the top bar was translated… Is there any other way to get it? Tried https://cassad-eng.livejournal.com/ but the article is not there (yet?)…
Understand. I think it depends upon the browser you are using to open the link.
Also, Cassad’s English translation support is not strong, hence the toggle does not work.
What works for me is Chrome browser, which provides an option on the bar to translate, which I used to post the link. If another browser, translation may not be readily available. Firefox does have translation but it is cumbersome. Will look duckduck, yandex, bing, baidu and let you know.
what browser are you using? A Couple of Russian sites have translation available, will look.
Any people out there with more expertise than I on these browsers (which is next to zero), please jump in because the article IMHO contains much info.
thanks.
Thanks, Taras 77. I use Firefox. I’ll try Chrome in another computer and let you know.
good luck!
This is an add-on for Firefox which will work as well:

You can use Google translate (it is probably built into their Chrome browser): select the language and copy-and-paste the text. You will get a machine translation that is usually understandable, but I would not rely on the details.
I think I will go back to Russia , life in Sochi was very pleasant , Moscow is not so bad . good for a visit ,
great arts facilities
At least I will not be bothered by the Western crazies , spending more money on dud weapons,
Killing people right left and centre , The vassals in Western Europe will soon be bankrupt along with the USA
London will be a third world country in 10 years all the silver ,taken from India,Australia etc. has been flogged .
Good luck! I would go back to Russia in a heartbeat if my situation was any different and permitted. I thought Moscow was one of the most exciting and interesting cities in the world followed closely by St pete.
Russian people are solid worthy people-do not believe what is happening in the west, completely lost any sense of moral values, common sense, trustworthyness-it is all lost, PCR has made several correct observations.
Western govts are absolute jokes for the middle class, average citizen.
And London still refuses to hand back Venezuelan gold too? Wonder what is happening there…..
