Saker comment: She is wrong about Iran having nukes and Russian forces, but about the rest she is right. She is SPOT ON on the fact that there is no workable definition of “(US) American victory”.
Tulsi Gabbard.
The last hope for America.
I am working overtime to help get her elected in 2020, and failing that, 2024 at the absolute latest. If we live until then at-least.
She isn’t perfect but she is pretty much the last hope we have to avoid outright WW3 and a global thermonuclear holocaust.
We need to get out of Afghanistan too, you all know about the Green-Zone in Iraq, well the GZ in Kabul is even bigger, and its largely just a 10 sq-mi factory for child prostitution and drug-running, via the fact that its all a USA-embassy which makes it diplomatically immune to inspection, coming and going.
What’s going on almost 20 years now, why have we not declared Iraq & Afghanistan as the 61st, and 62nd States of the JUSA??
I really wonder when Gabby say’s get out of “IRAQ”, does she mean the Green-Zone embassy in Baghdad that cost $5B USD that’s +5 sq-miles?? Heck its classified as an embassy and its the largest and only maintained structure in the country.
Is our war hero daughter really saying we should walk away from our most permanent fortress? Besides 1,000’s of Arthur-Anderson lawyers work there as contractors, where would they go? Isn’t Iraq after almost 20 years of colonization and occupation now defacto a US State? Like Puerto-Rico?? or Hawaii, or Taiwan?
When Trump tells all Americans to go home to USA, does he mean those in the Green-Zone? The answer is for course not, its a franchise, and a license to kill, deal drugs and sell porn & sex.
What does Gabby mean when she say’s leave? What does Trump mean when he tells US citizens to leave Iraq, does he mean to enter the embassy ( green-zone )??
She doesn’t stand a chance on winning the Dem Party nomination. The Anti War Left is practically extinct once their guy Obama took over. War is the Health of the State.
Every people gets the government it deserves.
Mr Trump is the President the USA deserves, and the main reason he is so unpopular is that he openly admits what he is doing and why. Whereas previous presidents did even worse things, but lied fluently and charmingly.
Major Gabbard is far too good for the USA, so she has no chance of being elected – or even selected.
Incidentally, why does a candidate have to be selected by one of the two political parties in order to have any realistic chance of being elected? The Founding Fathers were very contemptuous and mistrustful of political parties. For instance:
“All obstructions to the execution of the Laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency. They serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation, the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels, and modified by mutual interests.
“However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people, and to usurp for themselves the reins of government; destroying afterwards the very engines, which have lifted them to unjust dominion”.
– George Washington, Farewell Address (1796)
Only mention of American lives. What about the millions of deaths they have directly or indirectly caused on a pack of fabricated lies. Disingenuous at best, for home consumption soundbiting politics.
Right. It’s like the crowd leaving after Woodstock. The garbage everywhere in the aftermath. The dirt behind the daydream. It’s all over. Last call. Go home. Nothing left to see here. Absolutely love the new calendar. I love showing the kids things from another culture like this. They are amazed at the artwork and the marvelous colors.
Sometimes she does, sometimes she doesn’t mention those “other lives” but always secondarily as if they are not as important. I appreciate her honesty greatly but I find this troubling. The lives lost overseas are so many times more in number and more likely to be civilians. Unfortunately patriotism trumps everything in the US, which makes me feel that she is not going to be very different when it all boils down, because patriotism can justify anything. So maybe she isn’t in favour of these wars but leaves the door open for possible “just” wars?
Saker, nowhere in the video did I hear Tulsi Gabbard say that Iran has nukes she said that “Iran is getting close to nuclear weapons capacity”: she’s right, the more they enrich their uranium to higher levels of the required isotope, U-235, the closer they are towards being able to weaponize to fission devices which require enrichment levels of 85% U-235 and above (although cruder bombs using more uranium can be built with lower levels of enrichment.)
I do agree that Iran does not want to go nuclear, they are being forced towards this path by the US. If you remove the US from the middle East equation, it is not in Iran’s national interest to go nuclear.
You have asked for links, here’s one; a warning from US Army Colonel Douglas MacGregor to Trump not to take the bait and make an imminent move to start a war with Iran,. This was a full 2 days before Soleimani’s assassination, so it was apparent to Americans within US military circles what was about to happen.
It’s a 4 minute clip where, like Tulsi, you hear rare rationality from a US military man bereft of any demonization of Iran.
https://video.foxnews.com/v/6118907837001#sp=show-clips
Sorry, my typo correction; her quote was:
” because Trump ripped up the nuclear agreement, Iran is getting closer to developing nuclear weapons capacity…”.
Sometimes, typos matter, when they significantly change the meaning of a sentence (like the one I made above).
In the meantime Israel has 100’s of Nukes and intends to use them in the Samson Option. A little fact that everyone chooses to ignore.
Funny why is it that Iran can’t play the Israel game and just deny reality?
…
This is important because its Israel that told Trump to kill the General, the argument is that Iran is creating Nukes, but Israel already has Nukes. So why hasn’t Iran thrown back the same argument and called for the assassination of Israel-JUSA leaders because they already have nukes?
The entire argument of course is insane, the only reason for the inspections was for Israel to develop targets with inside knowledge. Israel always intended to destroy Iran, because its part of the “Greater Israel” land-mass that Israel needs to own&control all of MENA.
Israel has also always said that it will destroy the USA, after it bleeds the country to the bone, even BIBI said that when Israel is done with the USA, all that will be left is ashes that will be blown away by the wind. Today JUSA is Israels “Free Mercenary Army”, but with the coming robotic army’s, the human army in JUSA can be eliminated, and the Goy will be culled either way as they’re no longer needed anywhere on earth.
The real problem with Tulsi Gabbard’s remarks are and have always been that she calls this sort of thing, “Trump’s policies.” Trump doesn’t and hasn’t ever had a policy. He is surrounded by bad actors who are threatening to let the skeletons out of the closet or else to withdraw funding for the upcoming presidential election. The US foreign policy is ongoing and hasn’t changed much through several presidencies. Yes, Trump has now shown himself to be as much or more of a stooge as Obama. Up till now I would say that his rhetoric was poor but his record was better than both of his most recent predecessors. This recent tragic act certainly dampens any optimism, but only because Trump has given the bastards an inch and they’ve taken a mile… again and again.
Naturally she can’t blame the number one motivating force, which is our “number one partner in the middle east.” But it would be refreshing to at least here her admit that this is an ongoing policy that spans presidencies and partisan lines. Ron Paul had a similar magical way of ignoring the elephant in the room, a policy he and Rand continue to follow to this day. But at least he had the dignity to call out the neocons and show that this fiasco middle east foreign policy doesn’t change every four to eight years. That is at least one step closer to the truth.
But even so, my hat is off to Tulsi for at least attacking this heinous foreign policy and dastardly acts.
*** The real problem with Tulsi Gabbard’s remarks are and have always been that she calls this sort of thing, “Trump’s policies.” Trump doesn’t and hasn’t ever had a policy. “””
I disagree. Even morons like Trump have half-assed ideas about the world. At his current level of power “policy” serves as a description of his stupid notions.
When the campaigning started I was a stout fan of Gabbard, mostly because of her supposed anti-war stances. I’m now of a mind the woman is just more selective with her warmongering. If the Apartheid state called President Gabbard with a demand, I’d expect her to behave herself and do precisely what she was told.
Worst of all, Gabbard wouldn’t know a Constitutional crime if it bit her on the ***. So I’m back with Sanders, and hope his health stays good. And that he keeps out of small airplanes.
Everybody knows that Kushner ( son n law ) writes the twitters, now who is Kushner?, well his father is kosher-nostra, and best friend with BIBI. Kushner growing up would have BIBI stay in his bedroom, when BIBI visited the USA.
So Trumps twit’s are really straight from BIBI, and Kushner is a Mossad agent.
Trumps alignment with Mossad goes back to his mentorship with Cohen ( McCarthy era J-Mob lawyer ), to Epstein (Mossad). So it made perfect sense to have his daughter marry into the top kosher-nostra mob in USA tied to BIBI’s Israel Mob.
Gabby is a Zionist, owned by Israel, her rhetoric is no different than what Trump said before he won office. It has no meaning, its just hallow words to try and win over the deplorables in the DNC party. ANZ always does this, puts out controlled-opposition, so that no matter who wins, ANZ wins.
Sanders?
No hope for the US turkeys https://jewishweek.timesofisrael.com/bernie-sanders-speaks-zionism-to-progressives/
“He acknowledges that “some criticism of Israel can cross the line into antisemitism, especially when it denies the right of self-determination to Jews, or when it plays into conspiracy theories about outsized Jewish power.”
In my opinion Sanders is the best of a very bad lot. In normal times I’d not give the man a second glance, for I’d rate him as about a “C-” overall.
But I have to look at the entire picture. The others are vastly worse.
As I said before the 2016 election, the Palestinians are screwed no matter what happens in the US election. I don’t like that situation at all, but denial of reality isn’t going to get me anywhere.
Sanders is no better than OBama – just the same and just as bad https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2015/11/20/sand-n20.html
“The first thing that must be said about Sanders’s claims is that what the Democratic candidate proposes today bears no resemblance to the policies enacted under the New Deal or in the 1960s. His program is far to the right of these programs, which were conceded by the ruling class in response to bitter social struggles.
That is why Sanders insists on the label “democratic socialism,” as well as sprinkling his speeches with calls for a “political revolution”: the rhetoric gives his policies a superficial radicalism which they entirely lack in substance. He proposes nothing more than somewhat higher taxes on the wealthy, to finance higher spending on health care and college education, and a modest increase in the minimum wage.
His “political revolution” boils down to bolstering the electoral prospects and political credibility of the Democratic Party, one of the two parties of the ruling class.
The second observation is that even this extremely modest program of reform is a fraud. If elected president, a Sanders administration would not fight for the interests of workers any more than Obama, who has presided over the greatest transfer of wealth in American history.
Sanders’s pretense to “socialism” is a fraud at an even more fundamental level. He combines his verbal paeans to “democratic socialism” with complete silence on the most important threat to the democratic rights of the American people: the enormous growth of the police-state apparatus in the United States, above all the power of the Pentagon and the associated intelligence agencies, including the CIA and NSA.
It was notable that in the foreign policy section of his speech, Sanders claimed to oppose regime-change operations like the 1953 overthrow of Mohammed Mossadegh in Iran, the 1964 overthrow of Joao Goulart in Brazil, and the 1973 overthrow of Salvador Allende in Chile, but he never named the instruments of those counterrevolutionary coups, the Central Intelligence Agency and the US military brass.
To do so, of course, would both risk alerting the American people to the threat posed by CIA and Pentagon to democratic rights at home, and cut across his aspirations to become the commander-in-chief of those forces in January 2017. Instead, Sanders cited the CIA approvingly, in connection with its analysis of the crisis in Middle East, to support his own foreign policy prescriptions.”
The US electorate are, nearly entirely, turkeys with no vision beyond the REPDEM scum. They will, en masse, ensure the AIPAC REPDEM party continue to screw the Palestinians Ad infinitum.
The best of a bad lot is still entirely evil in Sanders case.
Sanders is a fake who’ s job it is to make sure that Trump gets reelected by making sure the democrats are forced to lurched socially and economically to an unsustainable extreme.
The Democrats would love to forward a so called ‘moderate’ that is electable among blue dog democrat voters and independents, unfortunately, extremists liars like Sanders and fools like Alessandra Ocasio (AOC) make this highly unlikely. Sanders is unelectable in the general election. He’s just a spoiler in the democrat party
Sanders is a complete PoS fraud that tells the disenfranchised just what they want to hear. It is cruel to play with hopes and pain of the poor and indentured. Don’t forget how tossed his own base into the garbage to stay in the good graces with Hillary Clinton.
Iran renounced development of nuclear weapons a decade or so ago because they are Un-Islamic. The Empire doesn’t have any real options so they have to leave.
This article by Professor Michael Chossudovsky has a complete analysis of the Empire’s dilemma.
https://www.globalresearch.ca/a-major-conventional-war-against-iran-is-an-impossibility-crisis-within-the-us-command-structure/5682514
Again, Tulsi has the correct answer.
*** Iran renounced development of nuclear weapons a decade or so ago because they are Un-Islamic. ***
.
An Iranian Ayatollah saying this doesn’t make it true. Turkey and Saudi Arabia lust after nukes, and Iraq had a definite bomb program. Pakistan has nukes, and I’ve not heard anybody claim that place is “un-Islamic”.
I’ve often said there is a low probability Iran has a couple or so nuclear devices. The USSR had a hell of a lot of bombs, and I’m not at all sure they were all accounted for. North Korea always needs money, and if some Iranian spooks waved a big wad of bills in front of the Great Leader, that nation might have parted with a few kilograms of whatever material they use in their own bombs.
Yes, low probability, but if I was in charge of attacking Iran, I’d be mighty cautious about dragging out my own a-bombs to use against them.
Well, Tulsi has to win some election.
How can you, saker’s site clientel, take this drivel as a serious matter.
She only speaks of american troops, american victims. There is zero mention of the bloodshed the US/NATO has caused in the mideast.
You should really name this video as what it is: American exceptionalist election campaign drivel.

Many posters here are likely either pro-Americans or USA sympathizers who believe in American Supremacism (aka American Exceptionalism).
Only American lives, American interests, and American concerns really matter.
In general, American “antiwar” people like Tulsi Gabbard are a Controlled Opposition.
This fake opposition is not opposed to American wars of aggression per se.
They are only opposed to FAILED American wars of aggression that cost too much in American blood and treasure and may undermine American global tyranny … I mean …. global leadership.
Successful American wars of aggression, on the other hand? They will support them.
Here’s a sincerity test for all these supposed “antiwar” people:
1. Do you support America paying war reparations to all the nations that it has attacked–including, but not limited to, Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Serbia, or now Iran?
These American war reparations will likely run in the trillions, if not quadrillions, of dollars. And there will be literally scores of countries lining up to collect on the blood debt that American owes them.
2. Do you support extraditing American war criminals to the nations that the USA has attacked to face justice by those nations? These war criminals should include not only the President and his War Cabinet but also Congress, and American military and intelligence personnel.
Indeed, Tulsi Gabbard herself could find herself facing a War Crimes Tribunal in Iraq for her participation in the crime against humanity known as America’s Operation Iraqi Freedom.
she’s right-
Moderator Note: This may be a duplicate post. If so, please accept my apologies. Little hectic around here tonight. Peace. Out.
With regards to Iran and nuclear weapons and a Russian presence, just a quick interjection to remind people of a few often forgotten issues regarding Iran and Russia:
Firstly the Caspian Sea.
Iran and Russia are direct neighbors accross the Caspian Sea.
The Caspian Sea is highly strategic to Russia – as evidenced by the consideral conventional (warships, missile batteries, etc) and nuclear firepower on and around the Caspian (unknown if Kalibre equipped Caspian Corvettes are nuclear armed, but the airospace force is).
Few outside the military (and big oil) are aware that the Caspian Sea is linked directly to the Black Sea (through the Sea of Azov and the Rostov-Don canal and waterway complex).
Few outside the intel community are aware that Iran has occasionally been allowed to transit assets / materials to and from Syria via this route for many years.
Few outside the Intel community are aware that Russia allows Iranian agents (and potentially nuclear material and tech from NK) to travel to and from Syria UNDER THE PROTECTION of Russia using this Russian waterway (and then still under the protection of Russian missile and naval assests in the Black Sea and the Med).
There was speculation on Intel linked sites in late 2018 that the infamous ‘Crimea Bridge Incident’ was the result of Israeli led attempts to push the UK and Ukraine into a ridiculous and desperate failed attempt at closing this access/egress point to Iran.
It was suspected by Israeli sources that after the well known Syria-NK flights and the Syria-Iran flights (nik named the ‘terror express’ by the CIA) was closed due to the war, nuclear material was still being moved from Syria to Iran via this water link, and very advanced missile technology was being moved from Iran to Syria via this water link (all under the protective umbrella of Russian defences).
Remember (before Israel took them out) Syria had many nuclear sites and storage facilities and direct links with NK shipping.
Intel sites also speculated that the attempted Coup in Turkey to remove Erdogan was really a desperate act to place a puppet in power who would stop and search any suspected Iranian vessel passing through the Bospherus straits enroute to Iran (or tracked as coming from Iran) to prevent nuclear tech or material reaching Iran by that route.
There was a plan for the US to expand in Kazakstan to the Caspian, but Russia has made it very clear that the Caspian Sea and the Sea of Azov are ‘closed’ waterways to non-bordering nations – even if they have basing rights.
Of course the actual link between the Caspian and Black Seas is through Russian territory so access to the canal itself was not in dispute (but blocking it at the Sea of Asov / Kerch Strait seemed to be a major strategic goal).
It is quite possible, according to experts in nuclear arms, that Iran has the latest NK missile tecnology and even the raw materials to achive weapons breakout. Iran may simply be mastering its indiginous nuclear technology to become self sufficient in weapons production (a model it follows for all military technology – reverse engineer, improve, remanufacture).
Current consensus is that Iran does not have a domestic nuclear weapon, but may have one or more crude NK devices (in non-deliverable form) which have been / are being used as models for a domestic weapon. It is also possible they have all the Khan designs from Pakistan. If so, should they be able to produce the weapons grade material they could put together something between a NK and Pakistani device small enough to be delivered by a fighter jet or large balistic missile.
Secondly,
Russian presence in Iran.
It is widely known that there are several hundred Russian ‘military advisors’ and ‘liasons’ inside Iran, and many Russian Scientists and technicians at Bushr and at the research site in Teran (just accross the caspian Sea from Russia).
There are also likely many Russian Spec Ops and Counter Intel types helping Iran and using Iran as a test bed for new EW systems before moving them to Syria (ie Kesh and Khibili were believed to have been tested on US drones in Iran).
Russia cannot allow a hostile power such as the US to take down Iran as Russia will be exposed via the Caspian Sea in ways few people currently recognise.
This is likely why Putin made it very clear a while ago that, I paraphrase, “An attack on Iran will be regarded as an attack on Russia”.
The aboce is just my pennies worth, nothing more.
*** Few outside the Intel community are aware that Russia allows Iranian agents (and potentially nuclear material and tech from NK) to travel to and from Syria UNDER THE PROTECTION of Russia using this Russian waterway (and then still under the protection of Russian missile and naval assests in the Black Sea and the Med). ***
Are you sure you didn’t mean “travel to and from Iran”?
It has been my impression that North Korea’s missile and nuke programs are a hodgepodge of native talent, retired professionals from Russia, (and possibly Pakistan) and Iranian experts of all kinds. The Iranians are benefiting from this cooperation, but I feel they’re a capable people and a lot of their missile progress is their own.
The North Korean nuke is the Pakistan nuke. Dr. Kahn went there early on and set them on course to build what he built for Pakistan. I doubt Russian professionals were ever involved. Ukrainians? More likely. Russia absolutely would not allow any Russians involving in the NK program of nuke development. Energy from NPPs, yes. But not bomb building.
You conflate nukes and missiles. Though missiles are necessary for delivery and threat of delivery, they are totally separate developments.
Iran probably has helped NK with missile development. Though this technology is not “secret”, as is nuclear development (especially miniaturization of warheads to fit missiles or artillery munitions). Again, Pakistan probably has helped NK, not anyone else. Not Russia, not China and not Iran.
Larchmonter445,
During his trial, Dr Kahn revealed that his network (direct and indirect) had resulted in the following nations (or people from these nations but not necessarily acting for) recieving a variety of advanced nuclear knowledge:
Libya (whos very advanced program suprised the west and was dismantled before they were attacked), North Korea, Iran, and China.
These countries are listed on official public records and they can be checked online.
However, it was widely suspected that the Kahn network extended also to Iraq, Syria, Israel, Saud-Arabia, South Africa, and even Vietnam – although there are no court documents in the public domain (that I know of) which officially list these countries.
This is a very big subject, I dont know much about it other than the information I have seen released into the public domain over the years, so I have no issues with being shown to be wrong if that is the case.
Always good to hear Tulsi with her calm reasoning. I know she is not sufficiently anti-Israel, but there is no way in US politics who would stand a chance if they are outspokenly anti-Israel. I think she is honest and not the conniving scheming ype of politician (well she is perhaps not a politician, but that might be right amidst this madhouse of divisive, dishonest players on both sides of the divide or Uncivil War that is played out in the US at present).
Thanks for the correction Anaam: Tulsi did indeed not mention Iran having nukes ( a little slip during this stressful time on Saker’s side is understandable).
Kim Iverson (YouTube, US) is another one (apart from Tucker Carlson and Ron Paul) who can just say things as they are without multi-layered agendas and war mongering.
Kim: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya4NnVVTdds&t=319s
@king,
I’m on the same page as you that given the pace at which things are happening, that I figured also that Saker misheard parts of the video while in a rush to deal with volume of info coming in now. That’s why I took the time clear it up.
Well, yes they need to get out now! It appears she is the only one saying it. Still, I have a nagging doubt about her. I’m not certain what it is. I would like to know what her understanding of the events and official explanation of 9/11 is. I think she structures her views and responses around fake, establishment explanations. If 9/11 was exposed to the public the new Pearl Harbor and excuse for the never-ending war on terror would evaporate.
Getting out of Iraq and Syria ? With dems support ?
What was Trump plan all along. Getting US soldiers home ?
Is Trump an Idiot or a Genius ?
Tulsi Gabbard is only partially right.
America needs to not only get out of Iraq and Syria.
America needs to get off planet earth!
America and Israel will stop to terrorize Iran only if Iran get nuclear weapons. Russia and China should help Iran to get that weapon.
I admire Major Gabbard’s expressed views, and the way she explains them. But I think she is wrong about one or two things.
1. The original reason for US forces to be Iraq and Syria is exactly the same as the reason they remain there: to steal the oil, and to gratify Israel. Mr Trump has said as much several times.
2. Far from US forces fighting ISIS, Al Qaeda and the rest of the terrorists alphabet soup, Washington created those terrorist groups and uses them as proxy soldiers. That has many advantages (to psychopaths who have no morals and no respect for law and human life). The deeds of the terrorists are plausibly deniable. If the terrorists suffer losses, or are wiped out, no American will care. And Washington can even claim the credit for the hard work and fighting of Syrians, Iranians, Hezbollah and Russians.
I agree except for one thing. We need to steal the oil to maintain the Saudi dominance in the world. Oil sold in dollars is propping up this failing economy . This deal done with the devil long ago is destroying the USA, and in the event the Saudis sell oil in any other currency we as a economy are done.
Much as I like Gabbard (best of a bad bunch) she’s exhibiting all the traits of idiocy that afflict US politicians, namely, very poorly informed. Couldn’t resist the Russophobic knife in the back and reference to non existent nukes and as much as Trump has made poor decisions in the middle east they pale into insignificance when compared to Obamas neocon rampage and the sheer racist hatred and genocide perpetrated by Bush.
Thank you Tulsi, you are right. Get out. Trump is violent and dangerous. Watch out.
In face of a statement like this from BIBI. ( BIBI said that when Israel is done with the USA, all that will be left is ashes that will be blown away by the wind.) How can any American stand with Isreal for any reason.
Unfortunatly I am beginning to believe that a field grade officer like Major Gabbard cannot see what is happening here.
