Excellent post and a really excellent critique of the regime in Kiev. I hope Natalya is safe and does not come under threat
Threat is subjective. I hope she does not come unde violence.
under
That is one brave and gutsy woman. A true patriot.
I once asked my father why everyone kept their mouths shut in the time that the Soviet Union turned more and more totalitarian. His answer was “we were all afraid” Thank God for people like Nataliya Vitrenko who knowing the risk they take, in voicing their opinion; give their country a chance to avoid catastrophy.
In other words, total dictatorship.
At the risk of sounding cynical, she is preaching in the desert. I respect Nataliya, but reasoning with those pigs is useless and risky, and the crowd is brainless.
The puppeteers cannot care less. They are obsessed with their own fantasies and their only goal is the demolition of Russia. The new laws are enacted to provide a veneer of legal justification for their actions in support of their personal and geostrategic agenda.
The Americans are pushing, and pushing, and pushing… We are getting very close to the edge. What happens next will depend on the reaction of Russia.
You’re right, all this constitutional legitimacy talk would carry more weight had the counter revolution in the east after maidan resisted the path of separatism and the violent dissolution of the Ukrainian state. Once Crimea detached itself and the east threatened secession, the old constitution lost its validity and authority in this struggle. Interesting points, were we still at the stage when protests and parliamentary rhetoric bore any weight, but that train left with Crimea and slavyansk. The folks with the guns are the only law that counts now, and the masses of the people, instinctively acknowledge the reality of an existential threat to the Ukrainian state. Even the uneducated citizen at the street level knows the constitution is powerless to protect the state at this stage. She seems to be denying that a threat exists at all, which undermines her case to a scared and unsettled citizenry. After all, Donbass is effectively under a state of martial law, with LDNR exercising the very same powers she fears the junta might usurp. The citizens of LDNR instinctively accept this state of affairs because they recognize that a full fledged peacetime democracy is a suicide pact for their state. Maybe that is precisely what she’s hoping results in the remaining entity of Ukraine, the sly fox lol.
Does a law become invalid if somebody breaches it? In short: of course not. In more detail: it may become obsolete if an overwhelming majority of people breaches it. Then, it is usually replaced by a new law endorsing the current norm.
How could the Ukrainian constitution loose its validity because of the secession of Crimea?
“political power comes from the barrel of a gun.”
Ukraine has ceased to exist as a soverrign state. It currently exists to satisfy USreali purposes – to provoke military response from US?NATO. What is required by the US regime is a prolonged Cold/Hot war to reorganize the US society which is facing collapse. Within the US it can be called what you like but a form of martial law is on its’ way; perhaps ‘Save Mom’s Apple Pie and General Goodness Act’ sounds good.
I respect this woman’s courage but I wonder if she is aware of the global nature of current events cursing Ukraine. Darker times coming.
she’s discussing the legality of the document…I really liked it….its very pertinent
I hope you are not serious (yea, right).
“the masses of the people, instinctively acknowledge the reality of an existential threat to the Ukrainian state.”
Do they “instinctively acknowledge” where the threat is coming from? Doesn’t the legislation she dissects clearly demonstrates it?
You also must be kidding when you equate the de facto state of martial law in the regions of Donbass which are under fire form the the Ukrainian troops with the absolute powers that Kiev junta is trying to grab from themselves and their masters.
I noticed a bunch of tolls commenting on this blog lately. It’s disheartening.
A fire starts with a spark just one tiny spark and the more oxygen it gets the more it burns. It may seem to you that she is preaching in the desert but she is not. Her words will reach those who care and some will do nothing out of fear while others will react.
She reached you, me, and others. Her words are a testimony of what is happening and her testimony cannot be stopped. Her words have reached us and will continue to reach others on both sides of the world. Her countrymen will hear them as do we.
What I found truly beautiful and ironic about her breakdown of the intended powers of the “military administration” was the power to inter poeple…something which the United States has already apologized for doing and the power to reside troops wherever they decide to…one of the actions that led to the American Revolution.
Dear commenter…I really liked this comment but what do you mean ‘ inter people ‘ ? Do you mean kill people as collateral damage ?
Ann
I was referring to the internment of people such as the japanese and germans by American Authorities during WWII
Why does everyone nowadays like to assume that the ‘crowds are brainless’ or believe everything they are told? In my experience this is never so.
“… In my experience this is never so. …”
Sorry, but your experience seems to be unusually limited. In addition to years of personal critical observation, one arrives to the conclusion of mindlessness of crowds by carefully reading pages of history. Many valuable books and research articles have been written on that very subject, doctoral dissertations on it have been defended. The extensive work by the XIX/XX century French anthropologist and physician Gustave Le Bon first comes to mind: his book Psychology of Crowds is considered a classic in the field. From its Amazon presentation, http://www.amazon.com/Psychology-Crowds-Gustave-Le-Bon/dp/1907230084 :
“In this clear and vivid book, Gustave Le Bon throws light on the unconscious irrational workings of a group thought and mass emotion as he places crowd ideology in opposition to free-thinking and independent minded individuals. He shows how the behaviour of an individual changes when part of the crowd. …”
An amusing compendium of cases illustrating idiotic crowd behavior you will find in Extraordinary Popular Delusions and The Madness of Crowds by Scottish journalist Charles Mackay – a 1841 book that contributed to the later study of crowd psychology. It covered economic bubbles, alchemy, crusades, witch-hunts, prophecies, fortune-telling, magnetisers, influence of politics and religion on shape of hair and beard, murder through poisoning, haunted houses, popular follies of great cities, popular admiration of great thieves, duels, relics… (Check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraordinary_Popular_Delusions_and_the_Madness_of_Crowds , etc.)
I suspect that if Nataliya Vitrenko doesn’t leave the Ukraine soon, she may be another victim of zionazi assassination.
I sincerely hope that she remains safe; if per chance some harm were to come to her…I think she has done her part, a MAJOR part for the advancement of Ukraine. It’s up to others to take the baton and run with it. Unfortunately, in these bloody and dangerous times, things will only be made right BRICK by BRICK… one life at a time. Sad, horrendous, but true, it would seem.
Thanks a lot for the transaltion.
I love it, she is great, so well argued, is she a professor?
It is clear that in The Ukraine there are very valid people and not the scum who “those” have put in charge.
Only by a military junta you can cover all the abuses that are needed to impose.
In Spain, after the civil war, the fascists took over the properties of the vanquished, their homes and everything else.
I know, for my job, an elderly man from Extremadura, who, when in summer returns to his village, has to see the family of the fascists who snatched his house when he was a kid living in his family home, surrounded town square.
Here has never been done justice, even with the dead, still in the gutter.
Would you consider the regimes of plotnitsky and zacharachenko junta or fascistic, or does that term only apply to the Kiev regime? She is being just as dishonest as you are when she feigns ignorance of parallel structures in the east. There’s a murderous struggle on, neither side can afford the luxury of democratic etiquette. For Kiev to consent to the restrictions of constitutional limits is a defacto consent to the destruction of its power. They tried that tack in the early part of the rebellion and nearly lost everything east of the Dnieper including Odessa. There can be no constitution if the state is dissolved, which is why martial law is necessary during times of crises. Sometimes the states preservation trumps the constitution. She is obviously trying to con the few left who are naïve enough to risk their welfare over semantics and sentimentality into committing suicide. At this stage in the war, all innocent citizens should steer clear of this conflict and let the powerful fight their own battles until the smoke clears, any side appealing to ideals are just baiting for pawns for the slaughter.
No, they are not fascistic. The rebellion was because a bunch of crazed Russophobes took over and threatened all kinds of nasty policies. And the Kremlin and people in lots of the Ukraine believed the new leaders.
The time of crisis you talk about was not needed. Immediate elections and a temporary, compromise regime could have avoided this disaster.
Innocent citizens need to make sure the Kiev regime is smashed. Waiting doesn’t work against the kind of regimes the US likes to create.
“Would you consider the regimes of plotnitsky and zacharachenko junta or fascistic, or does that term only apply to the Kiev regime?”
Only I apply to the Kiev junta.
The governments of Plotnitsky and Zacharchenko are what the threatened people of Donbass ( threatened first with the suppression of basic freedoms, such as the use of own language, and finally threatened with extermination, coming from prominent members of the junta government included the president Poroshenko) have chosen in elections to which flocked in mass not without risk to their lives, threatened by thugs from death squads sent by the junta in Kiev.
The fact that the leaders of these governments are militarized is due to the situation of civil war provoked in the region of Donbass after the coup sponsored and financed by foreign powers, especially US, characterized by their tendency to intervention and subsequent destabilization and disintegration into failed states of sovereign nations located thousands of miles from its borders to satisfy the insatiable appetite of its predatory imperialism, supported, shamefully and without authorization of its citizens taxpayers, by EU.
Like the bombing of Gernika wanted to be a warning and a lesson for those who rebelled against the coup that resulted in the establishment of the dictatorship here in Spain, the Fascist International, organized to ensure the rate of profit of the capitalists in times of prolonged crisis, wants to make, with the extermination of Donbass people, a warning and a lesson to possible attempts of popular initiatives for freedom and democratic republics.
But the blood never run in vain, as Pablo Neruda said in his poem, from every dead arises one resistant.
Now, as then, NO PASARAN!
Excellent reply elsi.
The fate of Spain is instructive and provides hope for Russia and the Donbass.
The fascistic system simply does not have the ability to sustain itself long-term – it is an unsustainable entity.
This is the nature of the Kiev junta that it will burn itself out – just as what happened in Spain.
You understand nothing! of this conflict!!
From day one it was always about ethnic cleansing of the ‘Moskals’ the ‘Colorado beetles’.
In the areas that voted to secede under the control of Kiev, the ‘punishers’ a.k.a ‘Police Battalions’ are looting to sell the electrical goods of civilians, providing vodka and cigarette money.
The ‘police battalions’ get drunk, steal, rape and murder and torture.
Those of us who have been avidly watching and reading everything we can get our hands on understand the true picture.
Read the archives on this blog alone and the comments, many of them supplying links.
The DPR and LPR have a rudimentary state structure, struggling to repair all the infastructure deliberately destroyed,so the inhabitants have nothing to return to.
This is the USA, ‘bringing democracy’ Libya-Iraq style.
O how conveniently you forget the “democratic” coup that triggered this whole situation.
” For Kiev to consent to the restrictions of constitutional limits is a defacto consent to the destruction of its power.” That tends to happen when you take the power by force.
Dr. Vitrenko is a economist and former leader of a Socialist party and member of Ukrainian parliament..also ran for presidency where she was a victim of an assassination attempt. She warned of this Nazism way back in ’13, well before the Nazi Putsch and subsequent Poroshenko junta. She is on the Nazi’s “hit list.”
May God protect her! How can a country with people like this brilliant and brave lady allow themselves to be led by such corrupt incompetents?
Good morning, Ann,
Here’s is one answer to your query: “How can a country with people like this brilliant and brave lady allow themselves to be led by such corrupt incompetents?”
The same way Americans allow their country to be ruled and led by a tyranny of Elites.
Rich people are idolized as smart. The rich (smart? people) get control of power. They cluster with other Elites and get richer, more powerful and more tyrannical.
Rule of law is transformed into oppression and fear begins to reign over the less wealthy.
The middle class is destroyed, and there is no safe place for resistance.
Injustice and divide and conquer are the events of the day in the streets and halls of the government.
Soon, you have Washington and Kiev, quite alike in essence. Merely shades of difference, not substance.
Then you have all hope placed in Russia and China, Putin and Xi.
There is no hope in your own country. It is gone. Gone like Germany, gone like France, gone like all the EU, gone like all the UK, gone like Canada and Australia and New Zealand.
There is only Russia and China to hope in.
The civilization of the West is a realm of death, chaos, injustice and hegemony.
Hi Ugo !!! Thanks for nice comment…luckily for me…that was not me that posted your response…that was anon….extra o in there….but thanks for communication !!
I have no doubt that the Ukrainian people will take care of business sooner or later. The Red and the White will be reconciled but the resultant color will not be Brown. However long it takes, whatever price it costs, it will happen. The US will delay and extend the process, costing many lives all over the world, but the Russians will ensure that the US pays the ultimate price if necessary.
I’m thankful for the bravery and soulful quality of the Novorussians, for many Russians, many Ukrainians. Many Americans, Germans, etc. know what’s up.
All power to the Red Army!
– from Nazi-occupied Amerika
This lady is exactly the kind of Ukrainian political opposition that I talk about being part of a government in exile against the junta. There are many intelligent sane people like her available to oppose the junta. It is purely a matter of Russia helping to push for them to form one.

Couldn’t agree more.
Agree totally. It would be even better if they set up in Getmany and somewhat distanced themselves from Russia.
Pro Ukraine. Pro Federalisation. Not allow themselves to be portrayed as Kremlin ‘lackeys’
20th Century Hegemon is pleased to present ‘Ukraine Democracy Vacation’ starring Victoria Nuland & Geoffrey Pyatt….

and Africa, I believe…
this darling woman better be behind steel doors…is she in Russia ?
I would like to ask a question here…is this Russian that she’s speaking….I really respect this woman…she’s had enough…but I hope for her safety…I hope she’s in Russia
Ann, she is speaking Russian. I agree. I fear for her safety and hope she leaves Ukraine.
The language situation in “Ukraine” is the saddest part. Officially in 2009 52% of the population said they used Russian as their language while 33% said Russian was their Mother Tongue.Which means many Ukrainians spoke Russian as their preferred language. While only 41% at that time used “Ukrainian” as their preferred language. But the issue is more complicated than that. Its said that 76% of the population knows Russian and only 69% knows “Ukrainian”.And the high numbers for Ukrainian is because the Ukrainian government counts Surzhyk as “Ukrainian”.Even though it is a mixed language spoken throughout the Center and South East of Ukraine. The standard Ukrainian is the West Ukrainian language that its said only 39% of the population knows how to speak ,even if only barely. Its not an accident that Kiev itself was a 54% Russian speaking city. And that so many government officials when in private or off camera only speak Russian among themselves.Other than Belgium before the regionalization I can’t think of another country in Europe where the government was totally fixated on enforcing a language alien to the people (French in that case). And the people resisting it (Russian speakers in this case).Though in Belgium I don’t remember the French speakers murdering the Flemish because they wouldn’t speak French.
Swedish and Norwegian are for the most part mutually intelligible dialects of West Germanic. Politics and different spelling conventions have kept these “languages” apart. I don’t know the history of the region, except that the Norwegians were more rustic. Nationalism can be implemented through language, though I doubt the globalist mandarins will be successful.
Language situation in Ukraine is the same as in Yugoslavia with Serbo-Croatian language.
I wonder how long before Harper’s imposing military administrations in Canada….Ukraine is an experiment of the west….like it has been before…the whole of the bolshevik revolution was a socialist experiment. Its in many books.
the plan is to have the whole country nazified….because the military is already in the hands of the right sector…nazis….she better get out while she still can….she may be planning a short life…by the looks of it…
A military junta is a European value, as long as it is in the interests of the oligarchs. Al-CIAduh is a European value, too. And crushed and humiliated countries in Eastern Europe are most definitely a European value, shown time and time again.
This comes from the US, without doubt. The federal government – with the state governments acting in concert – have spent decades preparing for the execution of identical plans within the US. The Jade Helm exercises are widely believed to be preparation for martial law, although it is impossible to be certain of their true purpose. There are something like preliminary Jade Helm exercises going on now. These have included, in, I believe, Florida, practicing rounding up and interning citizens. (This exercise took place recently.) This exercise involved actors who were told to yell what the government calls “right-wing slogans”, such as claims of being “sovereign citizens”, who actually have individual rights granted to them by God and guaranteed by the constitution. Thinking such as this is now viewed as extremist in America and certainly constitutes a perceived threat to the elite.
Here are some lists of the plans that have been laid in the US for the full overthrow of the constitution and the establishment of a full-scale elite dictatorship such as that being planned in Ukraine:

This page includes a list of already developed interment camps within the US that are as yet unoccupied. Many more also exist in Canada:

This is their NWO in the making.
There are actually many Americans who plan to fight them should they ever try to implement such plans. I fear they can never succeed, but many will die trying. This is the real reason Americans love their guns – to prevent tyranny such as this from flowering in their land. The impulse many have (many who read this blog, I think) to discredit them is misguided.
These are traditional people, who are despised by the American left. Such people are actually the natural allies of Novorossia and believe in their cause. That is what I see in the online community. Within the US Liberty Movement people are cheering them on and hoping Russia will step in to help them, while Russophobic liberals cheer on the administration.
It is my opinion people on the American left should re-evaluate their antipathy toward liberty-loving constitutionalists before they find themselves in an unwitting embrace of fascism.
“These are traditional people, who are despised by the American left… Within the US Liberty Movement people are cheering them on and hoping Russia will step in to help them, while Russophobic liberals cheer on the administration.”
You mean “establishment” “American left”? The “real” American left (not as a serious organized force but people aligned with World Socialist Web Site, Counterpunch, Stop the War, Antiwar, Thruthdig, etc., etc.) on many issues, and on Ukraine crisis in particular, are on the same page as Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan, Ray McGovern with his Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, and others. The proverbial “strange bedfellows” of critical times, they have to come together to turn around this mainstream neo-conservative/neo-liberal insanity.
It’s the opposite of what I refer to as the “extremist center” in the USA…hence your “strange bedfellows”.
Agreed. I just wanted to point out that practically all “real” Left oppose US/EU on Ukrainian policy. I don’t remember it being discussed or even mentioned on this blog.

Will Washington Kill Us All? — Paul Craig Roberts

The demonization of Russia and its leader by the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, Fox News, and the rest of the American Propaganda Ministry, by almost the entirety of the House and Senate, and by the White House makes reducing the threat of nuclear war impossible.

Great speech by Natalia Vitrenko. Heart-breaking. The magnitude of this catastrophe is already staggering and no end in sight. Poor Ukraines!
Good summary of the murderous politics of US/EU in Ukraine by the editor of The Automatic Earth blog Raúl Ilargi Meijer. (One of his posts, “Europe, The Morally Bankrupt Union”, has been translated for The Saker Russian blog in March 2015). Not to be missed:
http://russia-insider.com/en/when-did-we-all-become-murderers/6056
In March, Saker wrote about the Nemtsov-Dadaev situation:
“So far my prediction that patsies will be found is proven correct and ideal culprits have been found. I just hope that this will be just the beginning of a real investigation and not the end of it.
A new Chechnya war is what the West is working for. Quite possible that they may have created all leads to Dadaev. Quite possible that the FSB fell for it. It happened before–Allen Dulles organised the purges of 1949 from Washington.
Cops, once they sink they teeth in someone’s leg, find hard to let go. In addition, some FSB people may be trying to provoke the Chechens.

I saw a video of her some months ago. A very courageous and outspoken woman. It is a wonder that she hasn’t been assassinated yet. May she live a long life and a long and successful political career.
This is the video I mentioned in my previous post.
I would like if Kiev Junta would answer these allegations. Which she supported with facts. And if Junta would use precise and polite language as she did,and would not engage in “what if … or what about …”
Unfortunately we would not see this kind of discussion. Because, just like one commenter here said “For Kiev to consent to the restrictions of constitutional limits is a defacto consent to the destruction of its power.” From that we can see that only with constitutional usurpation they can stay in power.
So,no discussion. Constitutional restriction gone with the wind. We go as planned and/or signaled. Might makes right…
…Until a bump in the road. Which grows bigger with each attempt KIev junta make to run it over.
I sympathize with the people living in Ukraine. Hard times await them. Better to be awake during those times. We in ex-Yugoslavia have been through them and we in Serbia still see no end, just a temporary lull.
Her mention of Pinochet’s Chile says everything of the origin of this piece of s***.
Jose Filho..what do you mean by that ?
@3:40 “…To introduce transient restriction for constitutional civil rights and freedom of people…”
It was easy to introduce all that in some Western European countries and the US, the unfortunate Ukraine is next.
@5:40 “…or somebody may call him from abroad with a command to do this or that”
Now she is definitely not safe, the Zionist Empire is very, very nasty.
@12:53 “…will the militaries be citizens of Ukraine ?
This remind me a speech by Alan Soral where he said that the French regime plans to use foreigners as armed forces in the event a future French revolution sees the day. I can’t retrieve the YT video but I will dig for it.
@14:00 to 17:02 Here she’s describing the state of Egypt since 1981.
@29:07 Is she describing the US president here ?
May God Almighty protect Nataliya
