The current situation in the Ukraine is even more unstable and unpredictable than before, and at least three major developments might have a crucial impact on the outcome of this civil war.
The Russian humanitarian convoy
The situation with the Russian humanitarian convoy (287 trucks) is as confused as ever and I am personally still completely clueless as to what the Russian plan exactly is. I mean, yes, of course, it is to deliver that aid to the Novorussians, but it is also much more than that. For one thing, it draws attention to the horrors being committed by the junta in Novorussia, it shows that the Ukies themselves don’t give a damn about the plight of the Novorussian civilians and it shows that Russia is willing to do alone that which no other state or even so-called “humanitarian” organization would even consider.
But, of course, things could get really ‘hot’ if any of the following occurs:
- If the Ukies block the convoy at the border.
- If the Ukies hijack even part of the convoy
- If any of the drivers and personnel gets hurt
The problem is, of course, that the Ukies might want to make sure that one or several of these things do occur so as to trigger the Russian intervention the junta so desperately needs. Russia, of course, understands that, and yet the Kremlin is going ahead with the plan. Does that mean that Russia has already decided that an intervention is inevitable, so why not make it happen on Russian terms? Maybe. It’s just too early to call.
There is one very important element I want to bring up here: most people believe that Switzerland is neutral and that the ICRC is not only at least as neutral as Switzerland, but that is also composed of, and run by, idealists who want to help the suffering people. Sadly, neither is true.
Switzerland is not less Uncle Sam’s bitch than Poland or Lithuania. The difference is that Switzerland is a much wealthier bitch and that it can afford hiding its prostitution. But make no mistake, the Swiss elites are for sale and they will never have the courage or dignity to stand up to US orders. As for the ICRC, it has two “layers” so to speak: the young delegates who really do work for idealism and the ‘big shots’ in Geneva and in charge of major delegations worldwide. These ‘big shots’ are completely part of the European plutocracy and they are also at the orders of the USA. Worse, these ‘big shots’ not hesitate for one second to place the young ICRC delegates in harms way if that serves the ICRC’s marketing needs (to, for example, tell the donors “everybody left, but we stayed”). Also, the ICRC is hugely dependent financially on countries such as the USA and its allies. So please make sure that whatever happens with that convoy to always remember that the ICRC decision-makers will obey the USA no matter what.
The good news is that the Russians are fully aware of that. They still remember the ICRC’s mix of arrogance and gross incompetence in Chechnia (which ended up costing the lives of six ICRC delegates) and they have no illusions about the ICRC’s “neutrality” or even basic decency.
MH17 – gone missing again
Did you notice that MH17 is completely out of the news? We were promised voice and data recorder analyses, we were told that experts would be visiting the area and investigating the scene. We were told that various kind of proofs of this and that will be provided. And then *nothing*. Silence.
Needless to say, except for the TV-watching zombies who get their news from the idiot-tube, everybody knows what really happened. First, as I said it many times here, the USA and Russia know for sure, and there is a good chance that so do France and Switzerland. Then, there are a lot more people who don’t have the proof of what happened, but who also know. And I bet you that many reporters and journalists in Kiev also know. As for the Internet/blogosphere, while there are some disagreements over what exactly happened, nobody that I am aware of seriously believes that the Resistance did it. So that leaves only one option: the Ukies did it.
So why not finally say so?
Because the AngloZionists are buying as much time to the junta as possible.
They *know* that there is no stopping this story, but they also know that unless and until the true account of what happened to MH17 makes it into the MSM it might as well never have happened. But the clock is running out. If we can fully expect the Dutch and the British to do and say whatever Uncle Sam tells them, I would not at all be so sure about the Malaysians. For one thing Malaysia is hardly a pro-US country, especially in its public opinion, and, second, the Malaysians will inevitably wonder why their people were chosen as the sacrificial lambs in this US-run false flag operation.
This is also, I believe, the reason the Russians just said the very minimum to disprove the ridiculous version which Washington and Kiev proclaimed only hours after MH17 was shot: they know that if they say something it will be dismissed as “propaganda”, but if the Malaysians do, then it is going to be awfully hard to dismiss them. I also believe that the Russians have leaked whatever is needed to the Malaysians to make sure that the latter are not duped by the AngloZionists.
My hope and belief is that in the not too distant future the Malaysians will blow the cover on the AngloZionist fairytale and that they will officially accuse the junta of that mass murder. At which point, Uncle Sam and his European minions will simply say that “they have come to different conclusions” and use the MSM to bury it all in the collective memory hole. That, at least, is the plan. Whether the Empire will succeed in covering it all up in anybody’s guess.
The military situation on the ground
The situation on the ground is still very serious, possibly critical. By all accounts the Ukies are attacking on all fronts and with massive firepower. As usual, the vast majority of those killed are civilians, but there is only that much the Resistance can do to “plug” the various “holes” in the frontlines which the Ukies are using to try to get through. The good news is that, at least so far, every single Ukie group which managed to break through has very rapidly found itself surrounded and, mostly, destroyed, but how long the Resistance can keep up with such heroic efforts is unclear, to say the least.
My sense is that both side s are throwing all their energy and resources because they feel that time is running out. The danger of that is that either side might reach a breaking point and rapidly collapse. I sure hope that the Russian General Staff is confident that the Resistance is not reaching its breaking point yet, because if it does, then it will be next to impossible for Russia to intervene to prevent a complete collapse of Novorussia. Maybe this convoy is designed to do just that? I don’t know.
Latest news: UPDATED!
Several contact have just emailed me to inform me that Igor Strelkov has reportedly been seriously injured. I sure hope that this is not true or, at the least, that his condition is not as serious as reported because he is a crucial Putin-ally in Novorussia. I will try to keep you posted.
UPDATE: all my sources now report that Strelkov is fine and that this rumor is false. Good.
Kind regards,
The Saker
Erebus said… The strategia-22 article goes beyond Kolomoisky assistant’s facebook hack. I can’t believe this sort of agreement can be signed and upheld. If true, and it holds, there is no bottom to which the West cannot sink.

Yes, it is totally unbelievable. Ukraine, Netherlands etc, have veto power against making public any results of the investigation they don’t like?? It is surreal, if true.

»Moreover as a wholly Swiss organisation unlike Amnesty and HRW it takes its neutrality extremely seriously.«
Hmm. I have to question this neutrality. A friend of mine (German) used to work as a delegate for the ICRC. He said they were eager to get him on board because he speaks Russian. So one of his missions took him to the North Caucasus. I was surprised to learn from his reports that all the executive positions on the mission were filled with Westeners; the groudwork was left to the locals. In my view, such a stance compromises and discredits the pretense to neutrality.
вот так, 13 August, 2014 18:15:
»The propaganda is all pervasive and the time between “events” keeps the zombies constantly distracted with new rubbish. The ZPC no longer cares what happens about the “event” once its propaganda value drops. It is simply replaced with a new event because they know they have such control over enough of the population now, they don’t have to worry about facts any more, at all. All they need to worry about is presenting the right, constantly changing emotional and psychological triggers.«
Exactly. Thank you for wording it so well!
There is zero learning effect in most people. The word »medium« is interesting in that it suggests something like a transport facility for information (targetted at our minds, where in bona fide theory it is supposed to be “processed”). But you could spin it further: With regard to this constant propaganda stream, most people’s mind is itself reduced to little more than a medium that passively reacts in predicted and controlled ways. People don’t reflect and don’t remember. They are extremely uncomfortable thinking in ways that are not endorsed by the mass media authorities.
Update on Girkin: no need it panic, everything is under control. It was a tactical wound.

[ Editor’s Note: We have very visible evidence now of infighting inside Kiev, with two factions vying for control over the Russian humanitarian aid.
Lavrov has negotiated a deal where Ukrainian plates will be put on the trucks, Kiev determining the routes, and have one of their people on each truck to give them control to see that none of the supplies go directly to the self-defense forces.
But we see today another group does not want Russia to have any mention at all, when the history of Red Cross assistance has often used government transportation and logistics assistance, and with all assisting parties being made public.
The second Ukrainian faction’s position of there being no humanitarian crisis in East Ukraine can only be based on their wanting the civilian suffering to continue, and to put more pressure on the self defense forces to give up. I refer to this faction as the Julia Tymoshenko crowd, after her comment of wanting to nuke all the Russian speaking East Ukrainians as part of her final solution to the violent coup resisters.
So this “air brushing” Russia out of the picture only seems to have one purpose… to deny the Russians any diplomatic victory they will get from that. But blocking it, as you see the White House is still trying to do, is only digging them deeper into the loss-of-credibility hole. One mistake follows another, like doubling down on a bad poker hand. The EU seems to be staying out of it, something that mass media has not mentioned, but I will.
What might happen is that the Russian-Red Cross convoy will cross the border with the Ukrainian faction A assisting, while faction B and the White House and Pentagon will claim an invasion of Ukraine is taking place. You just can’t make this stuff up. This is Alice in Wonderland stuff to the max… Jim W. Dean ]

I’m surprised to see the word “genocide” was printed. I didn’t expect as much from a Dutch newspaper.
Yonatan,
I wouldn’t worry about the plane results; the Empire can’t release them and even if we don’t know the exact details, well, really, we don’t need to: their not doing so speaks for itself. You can also assume that every single major player knows what happened, and knows that everyone else does too. The facts will come out when this thing’s over and Russia has won. Which I do think she will do, though not without a whole lot of awfulness first from Uncle Sam and his (remaining) minions.
b4real,
Wisely, wisely said. I wish I’d thought of that, but I’m glad you did! ;~) That is in fact what he is doing, with the added benefits of showing up Kiev and forcing them to admit a) there is in fact a disaster b) for which they are responsible. Having this happen while Europe is in just a bit of a turmoil over the food embargo is, well, close to however you’d say schadenfreude in Russian…
ICR has been used as cover by the AngloSaxons for their influence expansion before. Very telling:
Chapter V: THE AMERICAN RED CROSS MISSION IN RUSSIA — 1917
Poor Mr. Billings believed he was in charge of a scientific mission for the relief of Russia …. He was in reality nothing but a mask — the Red Cross complexion of the mission was nothing but a mask.
The Wall Street project in Russia in 1917 used the Red Cross Mission as its operational vehicle. Both Guaranty Trust and National City Bank had representatives in Russia at the time of the revolution. Frederick M. Corse of the National City Bank branch in Petrograd was attached to the American Red Cross Mission, of which a great deal will be said later. Guaranty Trust was represented by Henry Crosby Emery. Emery was temporarily held by the Germans in 1918 and then moved on to represent Guaranty Trust ‘in China.
The Red Cross was unable to cope with the demands of World War I and in effect was taken over by these New York bankers. According to John Foster Dulles, these businessmen “viewed the American Red Cross as a virtual arm of government, they envisaged making an incalculable contribution to the winning of the war.”1 In so doing they made a mockery of the Red Cross motto: “Neutrality and Humanity.”

I never said that European countries will use that second chance. I only said that Putin offered them a second chance. That chance still exists the time I write this post. It will not be there forever though…
Yes, Malaysia may be key.
Time to keep asking why the US satellites never found (or looked for) the MH370 plane.
Time to ask why 2 MH planes seem to have veered off course.
Time to ask who might want to build a system that could divert planes by remote control. (It’d be a hell of a conspiracy theory I know).
Why the convoy?
1. It is needed.
2. It keeps Ukraine in the news (and the Russians are the good guys everywhere but the west)
3. It is probably a lot cheaper than dealing with the problem only once refugees arrive.
4. It highlights that fact that Russia cares for people of both sides in the region, and Ukraine cares for neither. We have King Solomon and the 2 mothers story here. Russia wants to save lives whatever happens, Ukraine would see a victory in killing everyone off.
5. It is “cynical opportunism”. That is the rest of the world is on holiday and can’t help the country they really ought to be helping help the people in that country that most need helping by any moral judgement. But Russia works and can show off.

Since some of the comments are keeping the downed 777 situation alive, thank goodness, has anyone considered the possibility that the missing 777 may have actually strengthened the relationship between Malaysia and China?
the reasone we bring this up is because the TIME propaganda magazine published an articlein the 28 July edition that is behind the paywall online but has been reported on for the past couple of years. Below is the title of the mentioned article and a couple of links that may provide some insight into the bigger play that seems to have been slowed to an almost halt regarding the Asian Pivot that the US intended to launch vs China. Keeping in mind that while the entire 5-Eyes/NATO fleet was roaming in circles for the first 777, China flexed a bit ‘o muscle and showed off some of it’s latest fleet and surely were “listing” in and tracking how the 5-Eyes/NATO performed maneuvers. Obviously Russia was also “listening” and observing this as well. A lot can be learned from a couple of well timed false-flags…

Why isn’t there isn’t more discussion about the MH17 debris field? More attention has been focused on a few of the trees than on the forest. More about the forest can be seen here:
http://humanrightsinvestigations.org/2014/08/10/mh17-debris-field/
The debris field map in the above link was made by comparing satellite images from July 16 and July 26. The source is Dutch. Unless this map is bogus the forest tells us several things:
1. The MH17 flight data recorded by Flightrader24 is unreliable.
2. MH17 never made it to Snizhne.
3. MH17 did not make a 180° turn.
4. The debris field is not spread entirely from west to east. A significant portion is oriented from northwest to southeast.
5. Nothing in the debris field contradicts the information released by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Shame on the Dutch Safety Board for halting the search and ignoring the requirement to make a preliminary report within 1 month of the accident. Surely they have a very good idea of what happened and also what could not have happened to MH17.

Shame on the Dutch Safety Board for teasing us that they’ll release a preliminary report in “a few weeks time” that they say will contain the first factual findings arising from the investigation based on various sources, such as the black box cockpit voice recorder and the flight data recorder (the black boxes), air traffic control data, radar and satellite images. If they had any integrity then the raw data from the black boxes would have been publicly available long ago.
http://www.independent.ie/world-news/europe/preliminary-report-into-downing-of-mh17-due-within-weeks-30501906.html
By the time they release anything solid the story will get no attention. That comes as no surprise.

“Even a moron should understand that if Russia wants to send military forces into Ukraine, Russia doesn’t need any pretext, much less a joint humanitarian venture with the Red Cross.”
PCR 13 August 2014
The big picture:
The United States failed operation in Syria, has led to an intensification of Washington’s proxy war in Ukraine. What the Obama administration hoped to achieve in Syria through its support of so called “moderate” Islamic militants was to topple the regime of Bashar al Assad, replace him with a US-backed puppet, and prevent the construction of the critical Iran-Iraq-Syria pipeline. That plan hasn’t succeeded nor will it in the near future, which means that the plan for the prospective pipeline will eventually go forward.
Why is that a problem?
It’s a problem because–according to Dr. Lehmann–”Together with the Russian gas… the EU would be able to cover some 50 percent of its requirements for natural gas via Iranian and Russian sources.” As the primary suppliers of critical resources to Europe, Moscow and Tehran would grow stronger both economically and politically which would significantly undermine the influence of the US and its allies in the region, particularly Qatar and Israel. This is why opponents of the pipeline developed a plan to sabotage the project by fomenting a civil war in Syria…

China has a simplified defense posture. With good relationships established with So.Korea, Taiwan, and Russia, she only needs to exert herself with Japan, Philippines, the US Navy and off-and-on with Vietnam.
The Tibet-India thing is very calmed down. Mongolia is calm. And the rest of ASEAN nations want to keep arms length from the U.S.
The advent of China’s blue water navy has rustled feathers. So has her ADIZ, but everyone in the neighborhood has had them for decades.
She froze our domination in Space with the satellite shoot down. Then the demonstration of the carrier killer missile gave great pause to the US Navy. Suddenly, they offered friendship to the Chinese PLA Navy.
China wants the waterways in the East China and Yellow Seas and the Taiwan Straits to be free of US Navy domination. Same with the ADIZ. China wants the respect of others to “ask” first, then proceed. The days of the US just considering the near waters as their lake are over.
The South China Sea is clearly worrisome to the US because it leads to the Straits of Malacca where the choke point is US gateway since WWII.
China even has a work-around for this. A canal through Thailand. It would be part of what they call the Maritime Silk Road.
All these developments reduce the hegemony of the US Navy in the Pacific Region.
They don’t necessarily mean China is the new hegemon there.
But China means business, serious business with any all who challenge her rise and natural place as first.
Complicating the South China Sea and East China Sea island disputes is massive oil and gas reserves.
Working out who gets what under the blue and green waters will take some doing. The U.S. is stirring as much anxiety and friction as the issues allow.

Saker, I agree with you that Malaysia is not a US colony or US friendly nation however, Malaysia has seen 2 of it’s airlines downed with 3 or 4 months which, to me, is like a ‘Mafia Hit’ done directly or indirectly by Uncle Sam.
Surely Malaysia has been warned??
I read with interest the other day ‘somewhere’ that Malaysia has signed up to the ‘Swift’ system of payments which of course is pro US and anti Brics.
So, I wonder if Malaysia will be so forthcoming with any evidence that it has which may implicate the US?
All this is just conjecture on my part but, the chance of 2 Mayasian 777’s being downed was 1.1 million to 1

If Russia intends for the aid to reach the people who need it, then they must deliver it themselves to Luhansk. If the Ukies get hold of it, it will be diverted – either stolen and sold by corrupt characters, or confiscated and used to feed the junta’s hungry army. The last people who will get to see it are those who the junta is busy killing.

First of all a great Thanks to the Saker who somehow managed to shed some light on a very weird situation. Thank you Saker for the good work!
In very confusing situations like the current one it’s helpful to have a ground layer of solid facts and then a good understanding of the involved players and ideally some clear character or way of acting threads based on what they’ve done so far and how. Finally, we must focus to a degree on the relevant region yet keep the big picture in mind.
The only relevant major military in the region is Russias.
ukratine is rotten and crippled in pretty every conceivable way and evidently not capable to achieve a decisive victory over an opponent of vastly lower numbers.
About poland no further remarks are needed, the ambassador apple and the regime whore apples have made it abundantly clear.
Putin has stood firm; while not being overtly aggressive he hasn’t given in a millimeter.
Putin uses truth as its most powerful weapon and with astonishing success so far.
Putin is a black belt judoka and this is visible in Russias recent actions. They do not attack – but they strike back hard and they turn any move of the adversary against him.
Putin has “forgiven” NR her failure to act in a reasonable and concerted way. While he does not overtly support their fight he certainly isn’t hampering it. NR may not assume that Russia, except for the very worst humanitarian case, will send in tanks but they can rely on Russia being on their side and supporting them within the frame of what reasonably feasible.
There is an increasingly humanitarian catastrophy brewing in NR.
The ugly snake of the 5th colonne has been appearing and rearing its head in NR, too and she seems to have created quite some ugly wounds with hr poisonous fangs.
—
Hence, my interpretation re. the convoi is that Russia
– obviously is not horrifically stupid (and knew what was coming)
– worked very hard to get that convoi established at all and
– even bent over to a series of kiev dictums and wishes, all of which Russia complied with
– *had a plan from the beginning*
The time needed for the distance was in the 12 – 15 hrs. range, yet Russia showed an express willingness to comply with any further demands by kiev and stopped the convoi hundreds of km away from the border. And then it kind of “vanished”; one didn’t hear about it anymore, it just seemed to have gotten stuck somewhere.
So, what’s the plan?
It’s a plan in which Russia wins, no matter how things work out – but with a preferred edge.
If the convoi arrives, a major part of the goods will doubtlessly “vanish” (and reappear in ukratine). Russia will have images and videos of ukratine troups with stolen goods. Of course, some part must also arrive in Donetzk and Lugansk for the ukraine regime not to look like blunt criminals. So Russia will have images of videos of hungry, worn down people eating food sent from Russia.
If it does *not* arrive, at least not fully, then Russia will be forced to stop those trucks full of important and desirable necessities just next to the (NR controlled) border. And there will be images and videos of nice white humanitarian trucks stuck due to evil ukratinians.
Now comes the funny part. The whole world looking at the stuck white trucks and ukratine having cried wolf so often and always untrue – nobody will care or belief if somewhere else some discrete olive-colored trucks will cross the border through the forrests …
Again, this is important, keep Russias strategy in mind! They will not enter the war or ukratine (except for extreme emergency). Russia does not even try anymore to convince the wezt of facts and truth.
Their strategy is aimed at shattering the weztern lies and propaganda and in the end the credibility of the weztern regimes.
Those hundreds of white humanitarian trucks are yet another strong archetypal image.
(… part 2)
(part 2)
It’s important to understand that very clearly. The weztern regimes are *not* (any more) militarily strong enough to terrorize the world. And, very importantly, they have, of course, become the first victims of their rotten propaganda and lies regimes.
Short, the real weapon of uza and its minions and vassals like eu is *not* military but lies, propaganda, and the presstitutes.
THIS is what Russia has to attack and to break and this is what Russia is attacking and breaking.
Something else to be understood is that they couldn’t simply lie. To make it work they first needed to create a world that is way too complex and confusing for their citizens, and that would allow them to willfully shift values, wrong, and right as they please.
Again, it’s very important to understand that. The weztern system *needs* complexity and confusion.
That’s why Russia is acting so placatively, black and white, crisp clear and in powerful archetypal images. Because no matter the system and the confusion, those basic images *are* understood by John and Marie Everybody. It’s in our human hard-wiring. A crying baby is a) innocent b) not dangerous and c) evidently needing something. And no system, no propaganda, so lies can change that.
Et voila, here you have it.
Hundreds (“many, many”) white (“innocent, non military”) unbranded (no logo, not commercial, looks like red cross or uno vehicles except for the logo) trucks.
Mighty Russia obviously and publicly bending the every whim and whish of the ukratine regime to be allowed in -> “They *seriously* want to help”, an image alluding to the white nun in Africa who risks bullets, malaria, and poisonous snakes in order to help poor ill africans.
At the same time the western regime acts in the kind of blunt stupidity that rises out of arrogance and sends a *military* airplane full of *military equipement* to ukratine. Thanks, cuntada for the help! With that military air shipment the zio-regime underlined and contrasted and such helped Russia.
What will John and Marie Everybody think? Obviously something like “Strange. The Russians send hundreds of trucks with baby food and water and stuff – and “our” governments send military equipment. OBVIOUSLY the Russians want peace and the others want war”.
So, don’t worry. No matter how the convoi issue will evolve, ukratine and uza and eu will lose and Russia will win. And, once again, it will be much harder for eu-politicians to simply go with the uza. Now millions more in eu will think of friendly helpful white trucks and will recognize that their leaders are but whores and liars.
