The Shrinking Cauldron – The Surrender of the 72nd Brigade
The Southern Cauldron has entered the final stages of its existence; the agony of the units deprived of provisions has begun.
The Surrender of the 72nd Brigade

Today, the remnants of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade fled into the territory of the Russian Federation. According to Russia Today:
Four hundred and thirty eight Ukrainian servicemen have requested asylum in Russia and moved into the Russian territory. According to ITAR-TASS, this was announced by the Border Guard department of the Federal Security Service (“FSB”) of Russia.
Map: Operational information from the Cauldron.
No agreement with respect to the surrender of all the surrounded has been reached yet (the negotiations that were reported earlier are still ongoing). Accordingly, the Cauldron is starting to break up into parts. The 72nd Brigade for all intents and purposes has ceased to exist due to ammunition and food rations running out. They held on while they still had resources and then began to exit into the territory of the Russian Federation – at first in separate groups, followed by the surviving remnants of the once full-fledged brigade.
The hardware was all abandoned at their positions, which continue to be controlled by Junta troops that have not yet surrendered. When militiamen would drive up on tanks as close as 400 metres away from the positions of the Junta, there was no return fire – there is simply nothing to fire back with. Some of the soldiers of the 72nd Brigade had no rounds left during the surrender; others had 1-2 magazines per automatic rifle.
There is also information that among those who did not surrender there are Polish mercenaries, which essentially explains the stubbornness of the resistance (a serious international scandal is possible).
Those who remain in this part of the Cauldron were given an ultimatum to surrender and exit to Russia and not to touch the hardware. Otherwise, the Grads will start working again. Strained arguments are ongoing there now; military commanders are reasoning that the potential for resistance has been exhausted and that they must surrender so as not to kill people in vain. Pravoseki [Note: Praviy Sector militants], mercenaries and the political zealots are demanding that the resistance be continued at all cost. As a result, a complete surrender is likely impossible – the majority of the military personnel will surrender and others will be leveled [with Grad MLRS], particularly in view of the fact that they have nothing to respond with.
I expect that this group will cease to exist in the course of 2-3 days, following which the Cauldron will shrink in half, and the Militia will start dealing with the remnants of the 24th and the 79th Brigades.
Map: Predicted Retreat Routes for the Troops Surrounded in the Southern Cauldron.
In order for you better to understand what has happened, those who surrendered were the remnants of the 72nd Brigade that were driven from Izvarino and Sverdlovsk toward the border with the Russian Federation. At the same time, the Cauldron continues to exist in the gap between Marinovka and Birukovo, where the remnants of the 79ths Separate Aeromobiles Brigade and the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade, as well as the various reinforcement units and punitive formations, continue to hold defensive positions.
Overall, the Southern Cauldron now has truly entered the final stages of its existence; the agony of the units deprived of provisions has begun.
Photograph: Ukrainian Troops After Crossing into the Russian Territory.
And this note by Russia Today is specifically about those who intend to cross the Russian border in the nearest future. They simply face the same problems as the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade (“OMBR”).
One more group of Ukrainian servicemen intends to cross the border into Russia after almost 440 soldiers and officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces crossed into the territory of the adjacent country in the night of August 4th. As reported by ITAR-TASS, quoting the head of the press service of the Border Guard department of the FSB in the Rostov region, the exact number of servicemen that intend to cross into the Russian Federation is still unknown.
The Junta’s Version
A group of servicemen of the 72nd Motorized Brigade was forced to retreat into the territory of the Russian Federation because they ran out of ammo during a battle with the terrorists. This was announced to RBK-Ukraine by Alexey Dmitrashkovskiy, a representative of the press-centre of the antiterrorist operation in Donbass.
According to Dmitrashkovskiy: “Servicemen of the 72nd Brigade divided into two units. The first unit broke through the ring of terrorists, and the second unit covered these servicemen. After that, one of the units had their ammo and provisions run out. Military hardware that was on the battlefield was damaged. After that the personnel was forced to transport into the area of the border crossing checkpoint in Russia. According to latest information, the servicemen are in the territory of Russia. The number of the servicemen is being confirmed.” According to his statements, reinforcements have already arrived to assist the servicemen that covered those who were breaking through the ring of terrorists.
Earlier, the Russian Federal Security Service (“FSB”) stated that more than 400 Ukrainian soldiers have requested asylum in the Russian Federation. As it was clarified, a humanitarian corridor was opened for the Ukrainian military and they were allowed to cross into Russia.
The remnants of the 79th Aeromobile and the 24th Motorized Rifle Brigade and Battalion Shakhter continue to remain in the Southern Cauldron. Just south of this grouping is Battalion Azov.
The 72nd Brigade

Negotiations with respect to the surrender of one more group of the punitive forces are ongoing. The identity of the specific unit involved has not been disclosed.
Most likely, the sonderkommando Azov and Shakhter will not be surrenedering. Other than that, the shattered units of the 3rd Spetsnaz Regiment also continue to remain near Izvarino. Accordingly, it is too early to talk about the Southern Cauldron being liquidated. According to all indication, it will likely shrink in size and the Militia will continue to blockade it. In principle, as it is, this grouping has been sitting there quietly, only occasionally shooting. When we drove from Krasnodon to Sverdlovsk, we passed through the territory formally controlled by the grouping – without any problems whatsoever.
It appears that the only benefit that can be gained from the fact of the surrender of the punitive forces is the shrinking of the frontlines and the freeing up of a relatively small part of the Militia forces. It looks like this reserve (if it is at all created) will be redeployed to Snezhnoye and Shakhtersk to reinforce the positions there.
Now, I know Berezin raises a lot of eyebrows and his statements here certainly will. I leave it to your discretion what to do with this, but sending anyways. GB
[Note by the Saker: I concur with Gleb, the Ukies have already declared THREE partial mobilizations, where does all that manpower go? The real casualty figures on the Ukrainian side must be staggering and absolutely horrible. The Saker]

Three Statements by Fyodor Berezin (Strelkov’s Deputy)
Preamble: Provided for you in reverse chronological order are three recent statements by Fyodor Berezin, Igor Strelkov’s Deputy, with respect to the Ukrainian army’s losses at the front in Donbass. His statements will appear to many to be controversial. The writer of this note, for one, has no difficulty believing Berezin, who bases his reports on concrete information received from the battlefront.
August 3, 2014 – Video: Fyodor Berezin, DPR Deputy Minister of Defence Speaks About the Ratio of Forces at the Front
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Yjx2HGdiis
Reporter: So, not too long ago, a resource called “The Free Information Zone” published an article comparing the weaponry of the Militia with that of the Ukrainian army. And so, we were hoping to have this information either confirmed or denied and, in general, to obtain some kind of commentary. According to this article, the Junta’s advantage in terms of military hardware is six hundred to five. In other words, where we have five tanks, the Ukrainian Junta has six hundred. The advantage in personnel is ten to one. In other words, the Junta has about thirty five thousand men, while we have five to seven thousand. This is according to various information. What can you say about this article by an allied resource?
Fyodor Berezin: It is elementary. It is understandable that Ukraine has hoarded a lot of tanks dating back to the days of the USSR. Right? And all of them have been concentrated here, against the Donetsk Republic. And if some Romania attacked now, it would occupy the entire Ukraine – it would be that easy. There are no tanks and no Grads left there, and probably no soldiers too. Unless they call up the disabled.
With respect to the ratio of the forces – it is obvious that a whole bunch of regions of Ukraine will exceed two regions, considering, particularly, that they are incomplete. Accordingly, there do possess superiority – it is there – but so what? In whose favour is the real ratio of losses at the front? In other words …
Reporter: Well, thirteen thousand Ukrainian died – the Junta’s soldiers – so we can see …
Fyodor Berezin: I do not know how many of them died [in total]. I know that this night and the previous night, just in the area of Shakhtersk, there is approximately a thousand dead on the Ukrainian side. That is an ocean of blood. A sea of dead Ukrainian soldiers. And they keep crawling and crawling here. And conscription centres keep recruiting them; they keep crying that they are forcibly conscripted. So what is it? They are forced to go to war to their death, and they do not resist? Do not join this army that sends you to your death!
First it is forty of them, then it is one hundred and twenty five, then one hundred, and so on – I mean just tanks, BMPs, and other armoured vehicles. Whole columns of them are destroyed; every night we destroyed several of them, and it is all left burning there. And inside them are people, all these Ukrainian guys that decided to come to fight here, to demonstrate their patriotism. They perform their so-called duty to their Ukie motherland – to Poroshenko’s fascist motherland.
Ukrainian mothers, please take your children back. Wives take back your husbands. Children take back your father, while they are still alive. Or the entire Western Ukraine soon enough will lose its gene pool. Otherwise all of them will find their death here. Despite everything, we will expel them all. If they resist too much, we will escort them further. They should leave before it’s too late and leave the hardware here, while it is still functional. Give it another few days, and it will all be destroyed.
Be it one to a hundred or one to ten, there is no difference. Understand, they burn and burn regardless.
15:29 – July 3, 2014 – Commentary from Fyodor Berezin (Strelkov’s Deputy)
And nevertheless.
Judging by the reactions to my previous posting (with respect to the enemy’s armoured vehicle losses, totaling 125 units, near Shakhtersk) nobody believes anything.
No wonder. I would not have believed it myself. Even in my books I have always tried to make losses fifty-fifty. However, today the situation is different. Here is something, just for your information.
On average – on regular days – the Kiev Junta loses between 30 and 40 armoured vehicles a day. The main area where they suffer losses is Shakhtersk and Snezhnoye. Now also added to that is Maryinka and one more direction near Donetsk.
On average, every one or two days, the Junta army sustains very serious losses. I.e. up to 100 units of military hardware and between 700 and 1000 soldiers killed. And these are not fairytales.
I do not know how much armour the Juntoids have left. Do not have time to engage in analytics. I presume, and there is information that confirms these speculations, that they are already using old tank stocks from the Warsaw Pact. We have evidence with respect to Polish hardware.
We catch mercenaries. Moreover, from very remote areas of the world. For now, not everything can be disclosed.
And, as usual, an appeal to the moms of the western regions. Take away your children from Donbass. Otherwise, every single one of them will burn in the “boxes” [Note: armoured vehicles] or next to them.
22:48 – July 29, 2014 – Briefing from Fyodor Berezin (Strelkov’s Deputy)
Yesterday [July 28, 2014], Shakhtersk witnessed the Prokhorovka of our times.
The total enemy losses of military hardware over the past day in Shakhtersk are 125 (one hundred and twenty five) vehicles, including tanks, BMPs, BTRs. Multiply this number by the size of their crews, and you get a very impressive result.
We warned them, did we not? Get the hell out of Donbass! And you did not believe us. Mothers, wives, sisters! Take your Ukie warriors back! Or you will completely lose the Ukie nation’s gene pool. Where are the Maidans protesting the mobilization? Poroshenko, my chocolate one, your own will soon tear you to pieces!
Lukoil sells off gas stations to Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic
http://rt.com/business/178012-lukoil-sells-gas-stations-europe/
“Russia’s second largest oil producer Lukoil is going to sell a network of gas stations across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary as it continues to slim down assets in Central Europe.
Lukoil signed an agreement with Hungarian oil and gas company Mol Plc and Norm Benzikut, it said in a press release on Monday.
Last week, Lukoil announced it will offload 240 service stations in Western Ukraine to Austria’s AMIC Energy Management GmbH. The decision came after Right Sector nationalists blocked and demanded free gas from several stations in western Ukraine.
However, analysts believe the company is selling off European assets to minimize risks associated with EU and US sanctions.
“The sanctions are related to the country, we are a Russian company. This will impact us, just like everyone else,” Alekperov told Reuters.
According to him, Lukoil has about $20 billion invested in international projects.
The targets of sanctions, so far, are companies that are more than 50 percent state-owned, while Lukoil is independently owned.
Lukoil bought over 1,300 gas stations from Getty Petroleum in the US in 2000, and currently operates 500 Lukoil branded service stations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. In March, activists in New Jersey tried to boycott a local gas station as Crimea was preparing to rejoin Russia.”
Doing business in the lawless, zionised west has become too much of a risk.

Also somewhat OT. Israel expands it’s war on Syria (now effectively Syrian-Iraq war) into Lebanon, hoping to be able to do with proxy terrorists what the sods totally failed to do with the IDF freakshow.
Islamic State expands militant campaign into Lebanon
http://rt.com/news/178084-islamicstate-lebanon-iraq-attack/
“The Islamic State [IS] has made its first incursion into Lebanon with the group attacking a border town, while the Iraqi government says they will give Kurds air support for the first time, as they are in danger of being overrun by IS in northern Iraq.
The Lebanese government confirmed 16 soldiers had been killed, with dozens either missing or injured, Reuters reports. The fighting took place in the village of Arsal, which is 120 kilometers northeast of the capital, Beirut, and it erupted after an Islamist commander was captured by Lebanon’s security forces on Saturday. The attack was quickly condemned by Lebanon, with Beirut saying, “the attack on Lebanese national dignity will not go unpunished.”
Beirut said they had found the bodies of 50 militants, while a cleric in the village said at least 50 civilians were dead. Five Lebanese Sunni clerics were injured on Tuesday, as they arrived in Arsal to try and mediate with the Islamic State militants. They were seeking the release of government forces, detained by the militants, but were wounded when their convoy came under fire…

“The Guardian”…
This newspaper is known as “Tony Blair in print”. It almost single-handedly ‘sold’ Blair’s war in Iraq to the sheeple of the UK. The Jewish writers for the Guardian have reached and surpassed the British Law definition of ‘terrorist’, but of course these laws are NEVER used to arrest Jews glorifying acts of genocide against those the tribe-of-Israel define as cattle. No, in the UK, its only young Muslim kids burning paper ‘poppies’ on Facebook, in an anti-war protest, that the British police arrest and prosecute under such laws.
The Guardian, Independent, Telegraph, Times and Financial Times are the ‘grown-up’ newspapers in the UK, and everyone of them is 100% Jewish controlled. Even to the extent that the Jewish monster that controlled the Telegraph, Conrad Black, was so ultra-criminal, that even the USA was forced to prosecute and imprison him.
As the Edward Bernays book ‘Propaganda’ advises, you tailor the BEST propaganda campaigns to individual groups. Each of the afore-mentioned ‘newspapers’ (or jewspapers as you should really call them) targets a specific section of British society.
The Guardian, like Blair, is part of the ‘Fabian machine’- the machine that created the modern USA. The Fabians hide in plain sight. If you were to look carefully at the power pyramid near the top, first you’d see the demonic elites like Blair, then a near invisible layer of Fabians, and then the Jews.
Putin is most definitely part of the Fabian team.
Fabians are anti-racist (so they correctly see the Jews, and their fundamentally hatred of all other ‘races’ as mental degenerates). Fabians ended slavery (Jews began and maintained the slavery of Humans from Africa, based on the vile teaching in their Torah- they were slaving before Islam- worked as the key slaving partners of the Muslims- and then worked as the key slaving partners of the Modern Christians- fighting tooth-and nail to prevent the ending of slavery in the USA during the 19th Century).
Of course, Fabians have gone by many other names in earlier times. Their fundamental philosophy is that Human MASTERS can arise from any section of Humanity, so all must be given an equal chance to become one of the ruling elites, without regard to race, religion, or culture. Those that ‘fail’ the ‘race’ deserve, according to the Fabians, to be treated as ‘cattle’.
EMERGENCY
Churkin calls UNSC emergency meeting on Ukraine.
Ballistic missiles landed in Donetsk suburbs.
Imminent NATO false flag related to MH17 ‘investigation’.
Russian military exercises.
Putin announces retaliatory sanctions on EU.
IMO this will be the last chance formally offered before Russia, backed by BRICS and others, intervenes with official humanitarian aid to Donbass at a minimum, peacekeepers at a maximum . . . possibly political support for Novorussia, because the ‘terrorist’ designation coming from the West is obviously imminent.
The US state dept steps in a pile of Psaki again:
Psaki Should Pay Close Attention to Geography – Russian Defense Ministry
http://en.ria.ru/politics/20140805/191751484/Psaki-Should-Pay-Close-Attention-to-Geography–Russian-Defense.html
“…“The Defense Ministry is riveted by Ms. Psaki’s statements … and expresses its concern over her lack of basic knowledge in geography,” a Defense Ministry representative said.
The representative reminded that Ashuluk military range, where the exercises are taking place, is situated hundreds of miles away from the Russian-Ukrainian border.
“That is why when preparing such statements, before making a fuss about it in the media, it might be useful to look up information not only on social networks, but in official sources as well, for example, the Defense Ministry’s website and a map,” the representative added.
Earlier this week, Psaki said that Washington was “deeply concerned by Russia’s plans to conduct large scale aviation exercises this week near border of Ukraine. Exercises of this kind are provocative and only serve to escalate tensions.”…
Ashuluk is by the Caspian Sea, 4-500 miles from the eastern Ukrainian border. Obviously, the zionist PR queens who invent this sort of hate Russia hype know Americans are so stupid now they would believe Siberia was next to the Ukraine if the gubmint and their “free” media told them so.

Major change in Russian reaction to sanctions.
A month ago, two weeks ago, a week ago, the RF response was: “We won’t retaliate or react.”
This round of sanctions has changed the policy. Putin even stated today that the government should react and retaliate to sanctions.
The trade war has its beginnings.
The financial war is on.
And this is preamble to Russia muscle flexing.
When your “partner” is out to kill you and your children and steal everything you own, you are compelled to stop the marauder.
Russia will become stronger, more allied with the rest of the world for new ventures and partnership, and find its creative nature stimulated with new means and new processes.

July 29 — the social networks reported: “In the area of intelligence and Raisins subversive group (RDG) militia attacked a convoy of U.S. military trainers. Killed three U.S. officers and wounded General Key Randy Allen, who commands the punitive operation “.
And right after that John Kerry requested ceasefire.
I don’t know.As much as I want Novorossiya to survive I fear they won’t.I hear about the Cauldron is “about” to fall. The Ukrainians are “about” to surrender. But it hasn’t and the majority of them haven’t.If it falls in time then the entire border is open to our side. And soldiers and equipment sent to support Donetsk and push the Ukie’s back. But if it doesn’t they are stuck useless just waiting. Why not,if we have enough ammo and troops, just move in and force them to surrender or die. Then we can relieve Donetsk.I wonder if we are fooling ourselves. All would have been different if Russia had sent peacekeepers. But I don’t see that we have enough troops and weapons to beat back the Ukie’s forever.

Kardashian Post is in the scam. The rebels are on their last legs
I saw this post written by “Bandolero” in the anti- Zionist site Mondoweiss and thought it was worthy of reading:
“Besides massacring Palestinians Israel, the global Zionist lobby and it’s close partners had in recent years leading roles in many massacres, bloody coups, disastrous regime changes, false flag terror attacks, instigations of murderous conflicts, and wars of aggression. Take Lebanon, Afghanistan, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Libya, Syria, and now Ukraine as some examples where Israel, the global Zionist lobby and it’s close international partners had important roles in sparking other massive blood sheds worldwide, too, to put it mildly, because many of them seem to have been spearheaded by Israel and its global lobby. Besides the destruction of entire societies and the death of millions of people, the recent expensive Iraq carnage advocated for by the Israel lobby was also a major factor in the destruction of the international financial system making billions of people a lot poorer. This multi decade long bloody disaster spearheaded by Israel and its lobby is why I find it so important to expose Israel and its lobby.”
The neo-nazis are supposed to have begun their great ‘push’, but a quick inspection of the foulest zionist news aggregate- Google ‘news’ with “Ukraine” as the search term, shows a complete unwillingness to report anything from the ground.
Just a lot of disgusting, third-rate, zioinst black propaganda generally attempting to demonise the people of Novorussia and their defenders. One might expect, at the moment of the great ‘Israeli’/’Kiev’ triumph against the Humanity of East Ukraine, there would be more Gaza-like boasting about the amount of death and destruction inflicted against the ‘helpless’.
Let me take a wild guess. Things aren’t going too great for team ‘tribe-of-Israel’ in Novorussia. Obama will have to settle for another evening pleasuring himself to pictures of dead babies from Gaza- Novorussia is giving this house slave no such pleasure.
But if the defenders, with Putin’s covert assistance, do a super-Human job, Putin won’t send in the peace-keepers, and a month later the neo-Nazis from Kiev will be back, in even larger numbers with even more armour and missiles, and an even greater determination to ‘Gaza’ the entire region.
Winning requires ending this conflict, not just holding back the zionist hordes. Obama, Cameron and the Israeli leadership have just declared their ‘victory’ over the Palestinian people, and their intent to bring the same forms of Holocaust to Russia. Putin, notably, did NOTHING to help the Palestinians, but praised the Russian Jews in Israel that participated in the genocide.
The zionist thrive in MUDDIED WATERS, as WW2 should prove beyond any doubt (remember how important that pre-war alliance was between Jewish controlled Russia and Nazi Germany- how they BOTH entered Poland hand-in-hand, triggering WW2- how the first atrocity of WW2 was when Jewish leaders from the USSR rounded up the intelligentsia in Poland, took them into the woods and shot them dead?)
Putin does MAJOR business and offers continuing support to Israel and the House of Saud. He chooses to keep Russia’s hands as dirty as possible. Only by turning one’s back on all forms of zionist evil, and fighting them from an absolute position of good, can one hope to defeat the zionist.

You might want to read what Anon Mongoose posted at the bottom of the 438 Ukie officers thread, but just in case you don’t, let me at least give you a summary and his urls, and then add one more of my own. First off, Churkin is calling for an emergency meeting at 5 today of the UNSC; second and third, Putin has ordered the preparation of retaliatory sanctions, including Siberian overflights (imagine that…), then finally, in addition to previous agreements re: dollar substitution, Russian companies are already shifting cash to Hong Kong dollars and depositing them in Chinese banks.

Let me close this H/T with his final quote: “You think beyond tit-for-tat/”
Fwd from Canuckistan:
It seems as if the CBC has decided that their affinity with pushing selectivly edited AP (Associated Propaganda) has hit a snag. The first article in some days is now by the Reuters propaganda factory. Only judging by the comments Canadians are pretty much fed up, especially when this article confirms, for the most part anyway, what the “tin-foil hats” have been stating for quite some time.
Not only is the headline itself incriminating towards the Harper Regime’s narrative, it counters the entirety of the AP’s propaganda.
Can’t be sure how this can/will be spun at the end of the day, but the “feeling” upon reviewing the comments is that the wheels are falling off the neocon bus. Considering the neohasbara has yet to make it’s presence felt in the comment threads, it may well be a turning point in many respects.
It is also strikingly odd that this article comes out just as “Putin” has ordered the drafting of retaliatory sanctions.
Just a fleeing pondering but what happens if the “gas” is shut off now as opposed to waiting for General winter to arrive?
Hmmm, a bunch of hot and bothered suddenly unemployed “workers” marching on the collective Governments? Geez, wonder who will fill the orders for that many “Orange” construction helmets to show “solidarity” with Kiev and who will bring the cookies?
Ukraine conflict: 730,000 have entered Russia to escape fighting
Rebels fire on unarmed Ukraine troops on Tuesday, Kyiv says

About 730,000 Ukrainians have left the country for Russia this year due to the fighting in eastern Ukraine, the European head of the United Nations agency for refugees said on Tuesday, pointing to a far bigger exodus than previously thought.
The figure strips out seasonal data and numbers for people who would normally have crossed the border for trade or tourism purposes, UNHCR’s European director Vincent Cochetel told a news briefing.
“The 730,000, it’s the ‘plus’ compared to other years,” he said. “They are not tourists. We’ve seen them at the border, just like in any other conflict. They walk, sometimes they just walk across the border, they come with plastic bags. Many of them are really destitute.”

certainly not. anything coming from liars nation of england can never be trusted.
Allowing british journalists is very dangerous-they are the spies working to destabilise al countries not under them.
10/02/2011, 00:08
besides whenever the english journalists infiltrate the news media or forum the news become propaganda for the english interest only. The same happend with CNn and is happening with al jareeza where english journalists infiltrated.
Another example is Russia today where the english journalists have hijacked the agenda of Russian tv.
Just one example out of thousand as to how much the english journalists do the propaganda for england even in Russian tv.
amongst those anti russian and the traitor media is Russia today and novosti. russia today is more interested in what happens in england than in what happens in russia-because it has been infiltrated by english spy journalists of worst kind whose political leaning is not only towards england but towards racist uk independent party who are against all foreigners except those who steal from their land and depsoit the money in british banks.in other words Russia today is infiltrated by british agents who help oligarchs steal from russia and other nations.
Today while interviewing an American about the money and corruption of Mubarak and his cronies with american support-the american lady was lashing out at american corruption and collaboration with dictatorial mubarak regime- then the newscaster of Russia today with name of some the some dudley guy(obviusly from england) said “but then such ally of usa in egypt like mubarak brings stablility and help to the west and thus is it not a good thing instead of bothering about corruption?”
Here is the newscaster of Russian tv but is pimping for English (west is code word for anglosaxon) interest even when he admits that is corruption and against democracy for Egyptians!
Don’t be ignorant. There are NO American’s fighting in the Ukraine. Sure there may be a few mercenaries with random Ukrainian ties but nothing orchestrated. American security companies have not moved into the Ukraine, nor has American military. With all these Ukrainian loses don’t you think there would be even a TINY bit of evidence it’s true.
The thing about US Special Ops advisers being deployed was an outright lie or ignorance. There is no evidence of this anywhere unless you believe RT (worse than American MSM for propaganda).
I’m not American, nor am I Russian. I do have close ties to both Russia and the Ukraine though.
My point is this: there is so much outright hatred and lies being perpetrated about the United States that some common sense must be applied. Something this blog, nor it’s commenters are doing. If anything you’re beating the war-drums for what would be a horrible confrontation for all parties involved.
Quit swallowing Russian propaganda. I have lived and worked all over the world, Russia and the US included. While US media is HORRIBLE (FOX News), it looks pretty tame compared to the state owned propaganda coming out of Russia. Open your eyes to EVERYTHING. it’s my impression that MSM are creating a theme of desperation on the self-defense forces, so they could resort to something more heavy (blamed afterwards) or this is just how propaganda works ?

An interesting story up at Naked Capitalism today:
http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2014/08/michael-hudson-frackingworld-bankimfhunter-biden-dismantling-plan-ukraine.html
Does this seem true?

A word of warning. Going after the Jews is counterproductive. Many of them are natural allies in this conflict. They are smart enough to see fascists have taken over Kiev.
Criticize the Jewish elites as much as you like, but not the people. Criticize the Anglo elites and the unelected masters of Brussels, but never the people. Please make this distinction in your comments.
Those who think the Protocols are genuine should know about the verdict of a Swiss court a long time ago. In the 1930s, as I remember it. The court concluded that large parts, not all of it, of the Protocols were copied from a freemason book written by a Frenchman in the 19th century. I heard about it in the 80s, a long time ago. I am old and not good at searching the net, but I know others are. Perhaps a computer savvy person can back this up. I think the information is true. If it is, consider the implications. Some have been barking up the wrong tree.
New York Times, Aug. 4: “Ukraine Rebels Conscript ‘Punishment Brigades’ for Support Work”
You really can’t make this crap up.
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/05/world/europe/ukraine-rebels-enlisting-punishment-brigades-for-support-work.html
Besides pushing the the canard that Donetsk has been “encircled” and “isolated”, is this imperial media pouting about the empire’s crumbling position in Ukraine?
Ohh come on…I see lots of people here losing patience, getting desperate…Well look at the Donbass/Ukraine events not like ‘street fight’ but rather like a game of chess…I know thigs might look bad for “the good guys” but they just need to withstand the desperate “all in” push of the junta forces-the last of such magnitude in my opinion.Even by the strictly filtered info from inside Ukraine I can “sense” that the pressure is internal building up very very fast-it can not be “contained” for much longer. It’s going to burst at some point…
And “Kiev” does not equal “Ukraine”…
@Nabil2020 said something utterly ridiculous once again.
@Larchmonter445 is correct in the vast majority of observations, especially the latest “Art of War” strategy being presented in previous comments.
The fact is that Putin and the RF Military is responsible for the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Russia, not Ukraine. The populous in the RF is opposed to “boots on the ground” as are the only elite that matter. The Military will assuredly protect Russia first, period, and as others have commented in other threads, Putin will need to deal with the sociopaths/psychopaths from the West on other fronts no matter what any propaganda leads either side to believe.
There is no way to spin these facts. Ukraine is the most corrupt black-market basket-case in the region and no one wants to pay the costs associated with the decades long rule and subsequent disrepair of the various oligarchs. Simply put, it may be fertile as far as the soil and agricultural conditions but it is far from modern with regards to industry and Russia is, and has been, investing in modernization of itself, first and formost.
The turning points will hing upon China as they are still awaiting delivery of agricultural products, etc. that Ukraine cannot deliver. The only segment of the global economy that the RF needs to be concerned about at this point is China and as long as “Putin” adheres to their commitment to each other with regards to not overtly meddling in other Nations affairs, the tide will shift rapidly behind the scenes.
As a footnote, it may be wise to check out the following so that you may “grasp” how the “Art of War” is played properly. Knowledge is power..

@Nora,
Thank you very much for the link.
It looks very interesting with interesting links included too.
I did not know the blogger. I must say that while I am Basque, I´m not separatist at all. I actually do not like nationalism. My mood is more internationalist. Rather than part when things go wrong, I’d rather join others to fight against those who rob us, oppress us, who want to impose fascist regimes because there is no other way to save the ugly face of savage neoliberalism. Basque separatists have also their things to reproach.
Until a few months ago I searched for information on possible international brigades to Donbass, but had found nothing.
Today, after watching the video you posted, I found a page with all the information.
Apparently it’s all organized. They put contact addresses and phone numbers of the recruiting offices. As I understand it, they asked to fill in a form and indicate how you could help. Once enrolled, availability until prescribed by the relevant command, so, I’m afraid, you can not go only during the holidays, it seems that one is committed until the conflict required? I am not sure.
Apparently a group of Italian activists called Millenium ( I do not know ) are responsible for coordinating the movement of brigades from southern EU. Which they do not indicate is how to contact them.
They also give some indications in case anyone wants to go there with its own car or truck, as there is not too many vehicles.
They ask mainly engineers, military or civilian, firefighters, doctors, nurses, psychologists, building professionals or people who can drive carrying humanitarian aid privisones, ammunition and militiamen.
Each will go to where the competent authority considers to be most useful. If you are willing to fight, you will receive military training and be asigned a seat in the front.

Poroshenko is playing a filthy political game by accusing half of the Rada of being a “fifth column” inferably under Russian influence. In reality, most of the Ukrainian government is a fifth column, albeit of the West, but that’s not the topic at hand here. Poroshenko’s objective is to intimidate the politicians who voted against the “anti-terrorist” bill into thinking that they may suffer the same fate as the recently banned Communist Party, which itself was persecuted because of its supposed “pro-Russian” stance. Not only that, but post-coup Ukraine has an extensive history of human rights abuses and political oppression, so there’s already a discernable track record for what can happen to those who disagree with the regime.
Another of Poroshenko’s pursuits is to split society from the Rada and stoke nationalism ahead of early elections, with the hope that voters will go through the motions of democracy in removing his political adversaries under the guise of ‘patriotism’. Although this deepens the political tumult in the country, it conveniently takes the focus away from the impending IMF crisis (for which the Rada collapsed in the first place) and misleadingly blames the country’s problems on internal enemies. Poroshenko is engaging in a calculated risky move to centralize control over the state in the same way that an oligarch does a company, but he is dangerously faced with a Catch-22. He wants to increase his power on the backs of nationalists, but their power and ambitions only grow along with his and they can likely turn on him in the future and make him their puppet (if they even allow him to stay in power, that is). The West knows this, hence why it is hedging its bets by supporting the military as a fail-safe measure of retaining influence in Ukraine in case this occurs.

Those in the U.S. who are enthralled by relentless reports of the most demonic acts attributed to President Vladimir Putin and the rebel Eastern Ukrainian federalists a in the NYT (New York Times), NPR, ETC. would do well to look at the track record of the “reporters” dishing out this stuff. What they will find is a trail of deception that is piled with corpses of hundreds of thousands of innocents.
Principle among the purveyors of these bloodletting falsehoods is Michael R. Gordon, chief military correspondent for the NYT, serving over the decades as a trusty pipeline from the Pentagon to you. Although his name should be in profound disrepute, many opposed to war are unaware of his ignoble career or may have forgotten it. Most notoriously he is the co-author with Judith Miller of the front page NYT article planted by Dick Cheney’s minions, which claimed that Saddam Hussein had Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), relying on the idea that aluminum tubing being purchased by Iraq was to be used for purifying uranium.

If some extraterrestrial species were compiling a history of Homo sapiens, they might well break their calendar into two eras: BNW (before nuclear weapons) and NWE (the nuclear weapons era). The latter era, of course, opened on August 6, 1945, the first day of the countdown to what may be the inglorious end of this strange species, which attained the intelligence to discover the effective means to destroy itself, but — so the evidence suggests — not the moral and intellectual capacity to control its worst instincts.
Day one of the NWE was marked by the “success” of Little Boy, a simple atomic bomb. On day four, Nagasaki experienced the technological triumph of Fat Man, a more sophisticated design. Five days later came what the official Air Force history calls the “grand finale,” a 1,000-plane raid — no mean logistical achievement — attacking Japan’s cities and killing many thousands of people, with leaflets falling among the bombs reading “Japan has surrendered.” Truman announced that surrender before the last B-29 returned to its base.
Those were the auspicious opening days of the NWE. As we now enter its 70th year, we should be contemplating with wonder that we have survived. We can only guess how many years remain.

According to professors Steve Fraser and Joshua B. Freeman, “All told, nearly a million prisoners are now making office furniture, working in call centers, fabricating body armor, taking hotel reservations, working in slaughterhouses, or manufacturing textiles, shoes, and clothing, while getting paid somewhere between 93 cents and $4.73 per day.” Tens of thousands of inmates in U.S. prisons are making all sorts of products, from processing agricultural products like milk and beef, to packaging Starbucks coffee, to shrink-wrapping software for companies like Microsoft, to sewing lingerie for Victoria’s Secret.
What some Americans may not have realized, however, is that America’s economy has come to depend in large part on prison labor. “Prison labor reportedly produces 100 percent of military helmets, shirts, pants, tents, bags, canteens, and a variety of other equipment. Prison labor makes circuit boards for IBM, Texas Instruments, and Dell. Many McDonald’s uniforms are sewn by inmates. Other corporations—Microsoft, Victoria’s Secret, Boeing, Motorola, Compaq, Revlon, and Kmart—also benefit from prison labor.” The resulting prison labor industries, which rely on cheap, almost free labor, are doing as much to put the average American out of work as the outsourcing of jobs to China and India.

While the West uses the downing of the Malaysian airliner in the skies over Novorossiya to ratchet up pressure on Russia, a different war is raging in the Middle East. However, the Israeli army’s latest incursion into the Gaza Strip has not prompted the usual clamorous international outcry. This time all eyes are fixed on Ukraine and Russia. Israel was counting on this media cover for its actions – these are the techniques that are commonly employed as part of information wars …
A cover operation essentially consists of using high-profile events in other counties to lessen the fallout from one’s own actions. A classic example can be seen in the American film Wag the Dog, in which the US president, embroiled in a sex scandal and in danger of losing his bid for re-election, orders a virtual war to be broadcast live from the Balkans (in Albania).

Churkin has proposed humanitarian aid from Russia to Novorussia along the lines of the recent Syria resolution. Let’s see how China votes. But this was just a formality. I believe that Russia will do it despite the rejection. The only question is, will China, or any other countries (hoping for Cuba, Nicaragua, Ecuador) will support it. Definitely, at this moment in the conflict, the time is right to just do it. And since the aid will not be internationally inspected, since the UNSC will reject the Russian proposal, well, there will be a lot of traffic on those roads, who knows what might be left by the side of the road.

It’s a pretty good chance the story is true. In the article that’s his photo and background. But the name of the American general is mixed up. “General Major Key Randy Allen” should be Maj. Gen. Randy A. Kee. This is why looking him up in searches may have been a problem.
Here is his bio:

Most recent listing for his work:
“August 2013 – present, Director, Strategy and Policy, Headquarters U.S. European Command, Stuttgart-Vaihingen, Germany”
He does travel about. For instance:

“martie 29

Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia/Ukraine/Eurasia Evelyn N. Farkas and Director, Strategy and Policy, U.S. European Command Maj. Gen. Randy A. Kee will join Ms. Nuland during her trip…”
It’s conceivable Kee was in Ukraine unofficially. If so, the US would not announce he was wounded there, or any other American military were killed. Certainly the unified zio-media wouldn’t report it under such circumstances.

elsi,
I actually found him bc of his work, not his “extracurricular” activities, but he posts a lot of interesting stuff there. I can’t speak to the Basque movement at all, elsi, bc I just don’t know enough of the nitty-gritty, but I’m not even sure I blanket support or oppose nationalism per se. Not only do all movements have their bad points but deeper than that, what really constitutes a nation? People who live in a place? for how long? or people united by ties of — well, what, exactly? It kind of depends, doesn’t it? I know what I oppose, and that’s any outside group, or inside group, barging in and robbing people of… whatever, but for some reason I’m having a harder time putting a label on what I’m in favor of other than self-determination. And yet, doesn’t that suggest that *we* — as in, you and I — also ought not barge in, bc if we do, then we’re giving the bad guys the same “right” ?? It’s a sticky wicket, to be sure — maybe the difference is, if there’s nothing to gain and we do it anyhow? Because yesterday it really hit me hard when I read that the US has been providing signals intelligence to the Israelis and I realized there’s not a damned thing in the world We The People could do about it even if we ALL wanted to: that yes, we denizens of The Land Of The Free And The Home Of The Brave will more than likely only be “rescued” by outside forces, if at all. Dang.

Hi,
very interesting blog here.
For all those who think Novorussia is finished already please note that urban combat can eat whole armies. Highly motivated units might push a little to hard and get hit hard at start which could halt the offensive pretty quickly.
Furthermore if you cannot support your troops logistically your problems will grow if you field more of them. If you belive its smart to bring more troops to the front if you are not able to resupply the units already fighting you are mistaken.
Once casualties start mounting the pressure on the Kiew government will raise and protest will follow. Combined with the economic and social problems the Kiew government might collapse on its own weight.
Normaly there is a plan to get rid of the useful idiots (the right sector that is in the Ukraine) once victory has been archived. If you look at Syria for example some of the useful idiots might get smart and turn on their puppet masters before the work is finished.

I could not agree more with anonymous, at 19:14. Nothing will ruin the credibility of this invaluable blog quicker than rants of ethnic hatred. While I share the same disdain for the tribal elites that dominate our banks, and also the U.S. Congress, that most people do, no gentleman would voice ethnic slurs in public. Some of them, moreover, are flat wrong: some weeks ago I looked up AP, which somebody characterized as zionist, but which I’d found objective in the 2008 Georgia imbroglio: only one member of the board of directors, and possibly one of the management board, were Jewish, based on their names and pictures.
(Those that choose to denounce me for this point of view, as has happened before, please use English, Russian, or French. It’s tedious looking up obscure Hebrew epithets.)
Mikhail II,
Unfortunately both AP and Reuters are in fact owned by the Rothschild family — BUT, that is not “the Jews”, it’s one very large, wealthy and powerful family that happens to be Jewish, as are many but not all investment bankers. So your point still holds — it’s not only ungentlemanly but also immoral to stereotype all members of any group. Nasty behaviors, otoh, speak for themselves and ought to be brought under legal control regardless of which individuals or groups display them. And that’s why it is so important to speak out here against anyone who castigates any group, as a group, for whatever they happen to have been born. We’re seeing in the Ukraine and in Gaza right now, as well as Nigeria, Iraq, and God only knows how many other places the horrible results of hatred ginned up over negative stereotypes, and it would be very nice indeed to be rid of all of it, at least on this blog. I do think it’s mostly trolls though, trying to discredit the blog, but they always do need swatting.
“1000 ukrainian soldiers KIA per day, it’s Verdun killing pace. There is no way a simple militia, in forest and field midst, could achieve that.”
It does seem strange although one possibility is the oligarchs didn’t allow the Ukraine army to train their new recruits properly. If the tank crews have only been trained enough to drive forward in a straight line and not how to use cover properly then it would be like shooting fish in a barrel.
“Other Ukraine Army videos also show what looks like “US advisors” (Academi?) based on their body language and uniforms (kit)”
They are very distinctive looking so it would be obvious if they were.
“Finally, if Kiev’s forces were getting slaughtered on the scale of Verdun, as Gleb is claiming, how come the victorious forces of Novorossiya aren’t at the gates of Kiev?”
A successful defense by an outnumbered force is still just a defense.
“Normaly there is a plan to get rid of the useful idiots (the right sector that is in the Ukraine) once victory has been archived. If you look at Syria for example some of the useful idiots might get smart and turn on their puppet masters before the work is finished.”
Yes. The talk about Nazis and Fascists etc obscures the critical element in all this which is the handful of oligarch billionaires in America and Ukraine who want to loot Ukraine’s natural resources. There are tensions building up in the Ukraine parliament between the oligarch faction and the non-oligarch faction. The oligarch faction has US and EU backing so they will probably win but at a cost of even less popular support for the war.

Yes, it’s a real shame on guilty party (junta), but not on Russia or Putin, as you seem to suggest.
Why should the Russia care if West considers her weak? That might be an old fox trick, don’t you think? If by ‘strong’ some people consider brutish shows of military might, this may not be the real strength. The real strength is a quality of the spirit: it is calm, poised, based in lawful actions and is derived from the truth – something the West doesn’t have a clue about, being ponerized by psychopaths for decades. So you cannot really measure it by the western, corrupted definitions.
I feel sorry for Donbass people, too; They almost forgot how it was during the WWII; Do you know, how the Stalingrad looked after Nazi campaign? One pile of rubbles with occasional chimney sticking out and hundreds of thousand dead; Their own mini-nazis are trying to do the same and will not succeed, as long as spirit lives in the defenders, because they are fighting for their own homes and families and this is the strongest motivation of all.
These ukie mini-nazis have weakness, the real old Nazis didn’t have; They hate and projest own fears on all people in the East, while feeding themselves on shallow and cheaply sentimental ideology of nationalism, banderism, racism, great pretenses based not in the reality, but only in a wishful thinking, which failed them in the past and will fail them again. They never apologize for their misdeeds and crimes and only repeat them ad nauseam. Unfortunately, they infected Donbass with that disease, as well. Not all of it, thanks God!
And nazi junta is bombing and killing indiscriminately, not asking civilians if they are pro-Kiev of pro-Novorussia – bombs don’t choose; Just like in albigensian crusade: “Kill them all, God will recognize his own”. They plan to sort out whoever is left after carnage, vide ‘filtration camps’, worse probably than German concentration ones; How the hell they can NOT resist such a fascism? Death would be easier, than dying thousand times out of fear, like in the worst period of Cheka and NKVD.
But there is a difference; fighting the evil on their own or waiting for somebody to save them, like Russia. Those waiting for saviors are just expecting someone else to die, instead of themselves and that attitude shouldn’t get rewarded. Ever.
I read Strelkov’s original reports, slowly, since I’ve almost forgotten Russian learned at school long time ago. But he strikes me as a real honest man and true hero. Long, long time ago my countrymen were fighting for freedom of other nations; these days – sold out to USA – they do the opposite; help them enslave. So I’m not sorry for those few, still remaining in the cauldron; They fought for money, the lowest motivation imaginable.
Human beings are able to survive the worst conditions if they’re united for the right cause and co-operate together every step of the way. A new nation is being born in Donbass, from the best part of former Ukraine. Yes, many of them may die, this is usual price for freedom. But they will live better, truer lives, while the western rotten part may take much longer to discover what are the real values of the human life.

It always depends on what the goal actually is. Is it to help drug addicts or curb drug usage? In this case, you’d expect criminal charges for dealing with drugs that are truly damaging, but not for their consumption by addicts. If the stated goal were to help drug addicts, you’d expect state run programmes designed for treatment and rehabilitation, just as it is common practice in Europe.
Since this is not the way it works in the US, there’s apparently a different objective: To get rid of the superfluous who are not needed for running the corporate state. What are the superfluous? In your typical Third World country after its American “liberation”, you have a small elite that practically owns the bulk of the wealth. Below are those servicing those elites, followed by those who are exploited in low wage manufacturing, with long working hours, no benefits, let alone any kind of job security. For those who have no work and are otherwise excluded from the society, there is no social safety net. They are free to starve, prey on each other or go somewhere else. These are the superfluous.
From the angle of the corporate owners of that “liberated” Third World country, these people do not serve any purpose, but could be potentially dangerous to the established order (they could revolt). Therefore, as part of the “service sector”, you’d typically send out large swathes of Death Squads in order to eliminate the “enemy within”. The typical results is tens of thousands of mutilated corpses piling up in roadside ditches. As long as the owners of the country still serve “US-interests”, this poses no problem. On the countrary, this is very beneficial for what is usually called “stability”, because it ensures that foreign investors can operate freely, without any “state interference”.
The US, however, is not quite there at this time. Though very obviously transforming to a third world country, it still cannot make use of the “Salvador option”, thus their solution to deal with the superfluous is to incarcerate them on bogus charges, typically relating to “drugs” and “property”. That some of these charges are as severe as manslaughter tells you something about those who actually run the country: Very rich people who have a vested interested in keeping the “rabble” off their back. At the same time, there’s money to be made with private prisons and their “production units”.
Given the configuration of corporate interests controlling US legislation, the expected outcome may be more and stiffer penalties and more control and surveillance to ensure, those private prisons can operate at maximum capacity (thus maximising profits).

And, just as before, non-elite whites are also victimized of course; they just don’t know it.
This is the standard procedure: At first you introduce “innovative measures” to undesirable fringe groups and make the population hate them. You formulate those measures as broadly as it gets, yet assure that it would only apply to those outcasts (which it won’t, of course). Once in place, you broaden the scope and disappear anyone that could become a threat to the established order. Case in point would be the PATRIOT Act and what followed afterwards.

“Putin should not be too much surprised if he got a maidan 2.0 on the 15th of sept in St Petersburg…or why not in Moscow.
He deserves it.”
That’s a VERY ugly and EVIL thing to wish on the Russian PEOPLE. Putin is not the *only* Russian in St. Petersburg or Moscow, as if you didn’t know.
