- A mass rally took place today in the city of Odessa. The demonstrators surrounded the local parliament building and demanded the the elected officials adopt a referendum on the future of the city of Odessa. The elected officials suggested a 1-2 days of cooling off. The demonstrators rejected that offer and stormed the building which they now control.
- Close to 700’000 refuges from the Ukraine have sought refuge in Russia.
- In Crimea 6’000 Ukrainian soldiers have switch sides and have pledged allegience to the Crimean authorities.
- The regime in Kiev has appointed two oligarchs as governors in eastern Ukraine even though the 2004 Constitution which this regime claims to have reverted to says that governors must be locally elected.
- In Donetsk, the wannabe governor oligarch was greeted with a crowd screaming “down! down! down!” and had to leave. The crowd then took control of the local parliament building an elected a new governor.
That’s it for now. I will keep you posted with further SITREPs.

Hi Saker,
In my view the USA focuses so much on Russian (and Ukraynian) olygarchs just to draw the attention away from its own regime, which IS an olygarchy if there is one. It is not a democracy anymore, since being a democracy implies something more than to put a paper into a box every 4 years. It does permit freedom of speech, to a certain point, just to let some steam off.
This lack of democracy applies to almost every country in the world, *ALL* european countries included (though some come cleaner than others). And specially applies to all european bodies (other than the EU parliament) **that nobody has elected**. I don’t know what the grossly overpaid EU Parliament serves for.
I’d recommend reading “How The Global Elite Rule The World” by the World Bank Whistleblower Karen Hudes, a graduate of Yale Law School. She worked in the legal department of the World Bank for more than 20 years, so she knows from experience what she is talking about.

Saker, I have a question, indirectly relevant to the topic.
What would Russia do, if there was a radiological terrorist attack on a major urban center?
@Anonymous: Do not pay attention to the caption on the page. Anyway sort of activity on Polish side is more than probable. Poland is one of a few countries exerting pressure on other NATO partners “to go to war with Russia”.
I cannot imagine anybody on Poland stupid enough to think that ‘the Russians are coming’. However, they do have some real concerns on the horizon including possible refugees from the Ukraine (Russia already got over 600’000) and, even worse, the risk of armed gangs fleeing into Poland. The Poles are smart enough to know that they cannot tolerate any Ukrainian guerrillas on their land lest Poland turn into Pakistan or Somalia, so they are doing the right thing by beefing up their forces and preparing for any possible trouble. That is actually a very *GOOD* sign in my opinion, that means that they understand. If I was working for them I would recommend that they do exactly that.
I much rather see the Polish government getting ready for possible problems than seeing them in deep denial.
As for urging a war on Russia, I don’t know what Polish politicians can say to their electorate, but nobody in his right mind in position of power would advise that, not in Poland.
So thanks for the interesting video and news, but my sense is that the Poles are doing the right thing :-)
Cheers,

Hi Saker,
This video from DemocracyNow shows a discussion between Timothy Snyder (an academic from Yale specialising in Eastern Europe)and Ray McGovern (former CIA analyst) on the Russian intervention. Although McGovern tries to argue for the Russian side, he doesn’t do so very well. He doesn’t address Mr Snyder’s arguments and accusations against Russia. How would you respond to Snyder’s main points?

Given the role zionazis have in the NWO, I’m sure the reason given about talking about the “Palestinian issue” is merely a side issue and cover for a NWO policy coordinating meeting. Expect some changes in places like the Ukraine, Syria, Thailand, Venezuela, Sudan, etc., but nothing new on Palestine.

Arms, 400 kilos of explosives seized from Kiev radicals on Crimean border
http://rt.com/news/crimea-arms-explosives-ukraine-614/
“The self-defense forces guarding the borders of the Ukrainian autonomous republic of Crimea have prevented a large amount of firearms and explosives from being smuggled into the republic by Kiev radicals.
The Cossacks and Berkut troops at the road checkpoint in the Crimean peninsula have confiscated explosives equivalent to 400 kilograms of TNT as well as grenades, rifles and guns, Russia-1 TV channel reports.
The blasting agent was transported in a single batch by a truck, with the local self-defense forces currently investigating the origins and the purpose of the load. They told told RIA-Novosti news agency that the driver and the passenger of the truck were Maidan activists.
“They are citizens of Lvov [in western Ukraine], Maksim Shepetaylo – born in 1990 and Vasily Pusko – born in 1989. They didn’t hide the fact that since December last year that active participated in Maidan clashes [in Kiev],” the source said.
One of the Berkut soldiers, who like many of his comrades refused to follow the order to disband from the self-proclaimed government in the Ukrainian capital, told Russia-1 TV that the majority of the arms were seized from vehicles with Kiev numbers.
The weapons have been confiscated, despite many of their owners providing documents, which prove that they are state officials or law enforcement officers, he said.
The self-defense forces have demonstrated to journalists a loaded Kalashnikov rifle, with the available evidence suggesting that shots were recently fired from it.
They also showed a small-caliber sniper rifle of foreign design, saying that the weapons of such type have been frequently used by radicals against the police during the Maidan standoff in Kiev.
Sky News also visited a Crimean checkpoint, reporting a stockpile of weapons – including shotguns, hunting rifles, axes and ammunition – which the self-defense forces said were seized from cars trying to enter Crimea.
The checkpoints are installed to make “sure that everything is in order here at the entrance to Crimea, that no-one is smuggling anything that could turn our land into another Maidan,” one of the guards explained.
The newly appointed head of the Ukrainian Navy, Rear Admiral Denis Berezovsky, as well as a number of other high ranking Ukrainian military and security officials in Crimea, have sworn their allegiance to the local authorities.”
They cant intercept all of this terrorist infrastructure being shipped in now by the zionazis. How long before we start seeing remote controlled car bombs and “Tatar” suicide bombers and all the rest of the zionazi terror apparatus in Crimea?

Up to 10yrs’ jail for dual citizenship: Ukrainian bill targets tens of thousands
http://rt.com/news/ukraine-dual-citizenship-jail-572/
“…In practice, tens of thousands of Ukrainians simply do not bother with officially proving their dual citizenship and maintain it. This is true for eastern Ukrainians who have Russian citizenship, and western Ukrainians who have citizenship of various EU states. It’s true even for the freshly-appointed governor of the Dnepropetrovsk Region, Ukrainian-Israeli citizen Igor Kolomoysky, who once explained that “the Ukrainian legislation and its Constitution on the issue are so self-contradicting that one should be an idiot not to use it…”
A bit of delicious irony, that. The bill is on hold in the coup regime for now, but one can bet that when the zio-puppets get back to it, it will be just dual citizenship with Russia that will remain outlawed.

Why Yanukovitch is still the legitimate President of Ukraine
http://blog.fluenthistorian.com/2014/02/22/yanukovych-legally-still-is-president-of-ukraine/
completely off topic…
Russia (and I assume a great deal of Eastern Europe) has been trying to reduce the use of the US dollar (black market and otherwise).
A suggestion: This is more a fact of people trying to save in a currency other than the local currency which likely has dubious staying power. Russia should provide an alternative. Instead of trying to make the US dollar illegal, provide an buy sell rate market for gold (silver, perhaps) bullion coins (seem to remember a chervonetz) at banks, post offices or whatever with no tax implications. Replace the US dollar hoards with Gold and Silver savings which the government will provide buyer (and seller) of last resort provision.

Off topic, perhaps already discussed, but this is the first time I heard of it. It is also indirectly related to the NWO attack on the Ukraine because it shows the sort of phony, staged “incidents” the zios engage in to demonise their propaganda targets. Several examples of this sort of totally staged propaganda were exposed when the zionazis attack South Ossetia. Russian bloggers do a great job exposing these, but if one isn’t fluent in the language, finding these exposes is not easy.

Knowing that I’m not just writing about “pusyah”, he talked about the fact that a representative of the creative team of local hires to participate in the video as extras. Pay $ 500 or more. Selected middle-aged men of Slavic appearance. Ten – twelve people. Agree with the two candidates – and what a lady Peter blond 35-40 years. Like, nothing worthy of attention in this report was not. But more interesting was – Usage shoot video. The plot was the fact that the extras, costumes obryazhennaya Cossacks had to simulate an attack on the speakers «Pussy Riot». Portray the fight, swinging whips, unmask and so on. Warned that the shooting will be a lot of journalists and should therefore represent a very naturalistic, but try not to injure the participants. And then suddenly “customer” refused the services of local “actors”, citing the fact that “the issue decided with the other candidates.”
And on February 19 all media exploded information about that Tolokonnikova, Alekhine and other participants «Pussy Riot» during the filming of the video in Sochi Cossacks attacked by a group consisting of ten to twelve people. They (the “Cossacks”) attacked the participants performance, waving whips, tore balaclavas and so on. Everything happens for a previously announced scenario. In this game, it seems to me, Russia holds all the aces. Europe needs the natural gas from Russia. All it takes for hell to break loose, is for the flow of gas to stop, and a lot of Europeans will be sitting in the cold, and a lot of machines won’t run. Russia even in order to prevent some Ukrainian skullduggery has, at great expense, laid two! pipelines through the Baltic Sea to secure the uninterrupted supply of gas to Europe. I am certain that nobody is that stupid to antagonise the Russians enough, for them to close the valves. It’s so much against their self interest. They are more likely to tell the Yanks, that they are on their own in this.

Information from unspecified turkish souces indicating that Russia’s move in Crimea last week was indeed to counter actions by Crimean tatars backed by special turkish intelligence units: http://www.aydinlikdaily.com/After-Syria,-Ruling-AKP-Provokes-Ukraine-2442
It’s not clear whether this is solid, because it is all based on unspecified sources, but sounds plausible and is consistent with Turkish Crimea-bound plane turning back midflight last week.
The situation in Ukraine is causing some hard feelings in my family. This article:
http://21stcenturywire.com/2014/02/28/the-rape-of-ukraine-phase-two-begins/
seems in line with the sort of thing being said here, and yet the most important point in this article is about the snipers, and they give the wrong date for it.
“After hard talks, all major parties including the majority of protesters, agreed to new presidential elections in December, return to the 2004 Constitution and release of Julia Tymoshenko from prison. The compromise appeared to end the months long chaos and give a way out for all major players.
The diplomatic compromise lasted less than twelve hours. Then all hell broke loose.
Snipers began shooting into the crowd on February 22 in Maidan or Independence Square. Panic ensued and riot police retreated in panic according to eyewitnesses. The opposition leader Vitali Klitschko withdrew from the deal, no reason given. Yanukovich fled Kiev.[3]
The question unanswered until now is who deployed the snipers?”
But the snipers shot on the 20th, not the 22nd, so that changes the whole flow of events. What kind of mistake is this?

Very interesting, thank you! I will say this: whether that specific aircraft had anything strange on board or not, what is quite evident to me is that the Russians were clearly fearful of “something” and this is why the moved in the way they did. If you see a cobra raise it’s head and hiss, you don’t necessarily know that caused that, but you know what would make the cobra do that. I am quite categorical that the way the Russian entered Crimea they were ready for a big shootout and they felt that time was critical. Then, when the time-critical threat passed, they clearly relaxed. I am quite sure that we will find out more, what units were involved and probably why they moved in the way they did.

@onething: The question unanswered until now is who deployed the snipers?”
My personal belief is that we are dealing with contractors hired by the USA. As far as I know, this happened for the first time in Vilnius, and then this also happened elsewhere (Venezuela, Egypt. etc.). This is pretty much standard procedure for a color-coded revolution: you get snipers to shoot *both* sides.

“The self-declared Kiev authorities cannot solve any political problems and “lack both credentials and power” in the crisis-torn country, said the mayor of the Estonian capital of Tallinn.
“The self-proclaimed Ukrainian government was put into power by people with baseball bats,” Edgar Savisaar told Postimees newspaper. “It lacks both credentials and the capacity to solve the crisis in the country.”
According to him, the situation in Ukraine will begin stabilizing only after it “has a legitimate, democratically elected government at the helm.” in RT

@onething: “The question unanswered until now is who deployed the snipers?”
There are a few amateur investigations and a couple of fairly good journalist stories with interviews of members of special police units (with snipers) deployed that morning in that area. They are all in Russian or Ukrainian, however:
http://reporter.vesti.ua/39743-tretja-sila
http://reporter.vesti.ua/39655-v-nem-ewe-byla-zhizn-no-lico-uzhe-napominalo-vosk
http://ubop.net.ua/stati/kto-organizoval-boinyu-na-institutskoi-voprosy-k-batkivszine.html
The emerging conclusions are:
– the whole thing that morning first started from a group of people shooting at the police from conservatory building and trade union building. This is what led to retreat of the police from Independence square.
– first wave of protesters up the Institutskaya St. that pursued by police was beaten back with rubber bullets that Berkut police was shooting as they retreated (this can be seen in the first couple of minutes of the long 41min video of the massacre on Institutskaya St. that can be found on youtube and the third link above).
– the second wave of protesters that pushed up the street trying to reach the line of barricades was met with real bullets. Shooting was done from three locations and there are strong indications that shooters were shooting both at the police and protesters.
– the special police units with snipers that were shown repeatedly in the media arrived at the scene relatively late after the shooting was ongoing. In interviews, members of these units say that they were told to deploy to try to find and neutralize snipers that were firing. Also they say that they fired at protesters with guns, but only in the legs. Eye witnesses say that they were not shooting at unarmed protesters that were massacred on Institutskaya, but were shooting up at the roofs.
– various people repeatedly talk about the “third force” – i.e., some non-government snipers that shot at both protesters and police.
– shootings could have been done by non-snipers, but rather by someone just shooting with AKM.
There is fairly surprising lack of any reports on investigations of these shootings. This is nuts because eye-witnesses should be interviewed immediately the same or next day. Also, crowds of spectators have been gawking on Institutskaya (crime scene) during last week which will complicate investigation of the crime scene in the future.
However, most likely if these were third party professionals. Investigations will just find where they shot from, but not who they were. In this case, the new regime will not be interested in such investigation. Their main interest is to put the blame on Yanukovich.
