Yes, the interview is correct. The West is trying to create a rift between Putin and the people of Russia, an old trick. When Crimea was reunified with Russia, Romanov descendants living in the West started returning to Russia and settling in Crimea. Hardly an accident. The West is indeed looking to the post-Putin period, hoping to introduce pro-Western Trojan Horses and preparing for the restoration of the monarchy in Russia. Too late as for this maneuver. Western intelligence agencies might know, or might not know, that there are Romanov descendants living in Russia. According to one unofficial source, a candidate has already been picked by the Russian Orthodox Church.
Its not just a collapse in standards in the UK, its a collapse in the rule of law. Thanks to the imbecilic GWOT, legislation was brought in to allow secret trials in secret courts, with secret judgements and subsequent secret punishments. The accused in such a court is not even allowed to hear the evidence against him or to choose his own defence counsel.
We should all be re-reading Franz Kafka for a refresher on what being in such a situation feels like, it could happen to any citizen now.
UK’s current political culture is more than a disgrace, its a complete travesty.

I do think there is some value in remaining diplomatic, or refusing to get into the puerile “gotcha” “insulting the audience” style of the USA and the UK.
Especially if some sly humor can be inserted along the way that gives listeners a chance to laugh at the UK and USA and their hopeless figureheads

By the same logic, everytime the ICE beats up an immigrant, that means Trump did it. After all, the ICE reports to the Dept of Homeland Security which reports to the President. Therefore, Trump did it. Trump personally sits in on every meeting and decides which immigrants get beaten tomorrow.
I’m looking forward to the Amb Nebenzya vs Trump debate when Trump personally chairs the UNSC later this month. Should be fun. This well-spoken gentleman versus someone with the intellilect of the 5th grader who doesn’t like to read anything longer than one page. The United States and England seem to have divided the roles in their constant provocations towards Russia: The English routinely unpack the so-called “proofs” of the Russian exactions, and the Americans regularly release new “sanctions”.
This week was exciting, with the English having published photos of 2 alleged Russian people apparently poisoning the Skrypal traitor in Salisbury. It is surprising that so-called GRU professionals are being photographed from every angle during their mission, but this is not important for the English. In Moscow, the two “spies” became known and publicly denied the allegations English, attracting sarcasm in London. It will be noted that London refuses to communicate to Moscow the concrete elements they claim to have, such as the fingerprints of the suspects. That would at least make it possible to fix the identity of the alleged culprits, but that does not seem to interest London.
Indeed, the English do not need evidence for Washington to draw his big gun sanctions, since a new series seems to announce, both to “punish Russia” (!) Of the case Skrypal, as for “Punish” Russia for allowing chemical attacks in Syria that are clearly provocations by terrorists … supported precisely by the Americans and Europeans!
So, the United States now requires free access to Russian research institutes to verify that they do not manufacture chemical agents! This is, of course, only a pretext for a series of new measures designed to undermine Russia’s economy, as these demands have no chance of being accepted.
A few hours ago Vladimir Putin gathered in Moscow the Security Council and the response to US demands was very clear: “We obviously do not intend to unilaterally perform or even react to Washington’s demands, which are illegitimate, in the tone of the ultimatum and out of the framework of the CWC [Chemical Weapons Convention], about additional inspections on the soil of the Russian Federation based on such and such US domestic law »
It is therefore very likely that new measures will be decided in Washington against Russia. In Moscow, the banking and industrial circles are preparing for it. It is obvious that there will be an impact on the country’s economy, but it should be limited.
The most important consequences of these “sanctions” will be rather in the Russian public opinion which shows an increasingly acute irritation towards Western countries in general and the United States in particular. Many voices are raised to suggest that Russia on the one hand responds with more energy (by blocking the assets of American companies in Russia for example, or by closing some – we talk about Macdonald among others) but also and especially that Russia is no longer content to retaliate, but to take action against countries which for years now have been trying to undermine the country’s economy.
Some “conservative” circles (…) Russians for example use the use of computer systems to reach directly the United States and several European countries in their economy, first of all in a limited way, but which can go up crescendo if these countries do not stop their aggression against Russia.
It is perfectly clear that the measured decisions of Vladimir Putin for years have avoided a direct military confrontation with the United States, a confrontation that Washington wanted – and wants – clearly, both on the Ukrainian file and the Syrian file. But the accumulation of “affairs” issued by Western countries (Ukraine, Syria, US elections, French presidential election, Skrypal, chemical attacks in Syria, today also the United States accused Russia of helping Korea North to override the embargos against it, etc etc) are likely to overflow the pot and, if the sanctions directly attack the vital forces of Russia, it will have to be answered otherwise than by “ripostes”, symmetrical or not. As Vladimir Putin himself said, “when you know you will have to fight, you have to strike first”.
The impact of the multiple sanctions against Russia has allowed the development of its agri-food and industrial industry, but has also contributed to a high rate of inflation (probably 15 to 18% in 2018), and has a re-increase unemployment rate, certainly much lower than in Western countries. The Russian population may not accept new negative consequences, but will gladly accept that Vladimir Putin gets a good shot on the table saying that the game has lasted long enough. And by doing what is necessary so that the Western countries are not simply no longer in a position to enforce “sanctions” against Russia.

He’s smart and affable. His role is more important than ever: Russian diplomatic ties with US and UK are practically non-existant, so the UNSC is the only place where there is dialogue. Sadly, he has to deal with a constant stream of lies, accusations, threats. He’s handling it well, but it must be quite depressing.
