Mr. Secretary General,
Distinguished heads of state and government,
Ladies and gentlemen,
The 70th anniversary of the United Nations is a good occasion to both take stock of history and talk about our common future. In 1945, the countries that defeated Nazism joined their efforts to lay a solid foundation for the postwar world order. Let me remind you that key decisions on the principles defining interaction between states, as well as the decision to establish the UN, were made in our country, at the Yalta Conference of the leaders of the anti-Hitler coalition.
The Yalta system was truly born in travail. It was born at the cost of tens of millions of lives and two world wars that swept through the planet in the 20th century. Let’s be fair: it helped humankind pass through turbulent, and at times dramatic, events of the last seven decades. It saved the world from large-scale upheavals.
The United Nations is unique in terms of legitimacy, representation and universality. True, the UN has been criticized lately for being inefficient or for the fact that decision-making on fundamental issues stalls due to insurmountable differences, especially among Security Council members.
However, I’d like to point out that there have always been differences in the UN throughout the 70 years of its history, and that the veto right has been regularly used by the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and the Soviet Union, and later Russia. It is only natural for such a diverse and representative organization. When the UN was first established, nobody expected that there would always be unanimity. The mission of the organization is to seek and reach compromises, and its strength comes from taking different views and opinions into consideration. The decisions debated within the UN are either taken in the form of resolutions or not. As diplomats say, they either pass or they don’t. Any action taken by circumventing this procedure is illegitimate and constitutes a violation of the UN Charter and contemporary international law.
We all know that after the end of the Cold War the world was left with one center of dominance, and those who found themselves at the top of the pyramid were tempted to think that, since they are so powerful and exceptional, they know best what needs to be done and thus they don’t need to reckon with the UN, which, instead of rubber-stamping the decisions they need, often stands in their way.
That’s why they say that the UN has run its course and is now obsolete and outdated. Of course, the world changes, and the UN should also undergo natural transformation. Russia is ready to work together with its partners to develop the UN further on the basis of a broad consensus, but we consider any attempts to undermine the legitimacy of the United Nations as extremely dangerous. They may result in the collapse of the entire architecture of international relations, and then indeed there will be no rules left except for the rule of force. The world will be dominated by selfishness rather than collective effort, by dictate rather than equality and liberty, and instead of truly independent states we will have protectorates controlled from outside.
What is the meaning of state sovereignty, the term which has been mentioned by our colleagues here? It basically means freedom, every person and every state being free to choose their future.
By the way, this brings us to the issue of the so-called legitimacy of state authorities. You shouldn’t play with words and manipulate them. In international law, international affairs, every term has to be clearly defined, transparent and interpreted the same way by one and all.
We are all different, and we should respect that. Nations shouldn’t be forced to all conform to the same development model that somebody has declared the only appropriate one.
We should all remember the lessons of the past. For example, we remember examples from our Soviet past, when the Soviet Union exported social experiments, pushing for changes in other countries for ideological reasons, and this often led to tragic consequences and caused degradation instead of progress.
It seems, however, that instead of learning from other people’s mistakes, some prefer to repeat them and continue to export revolutions, only now these are “democratic” revolutions. Just look at the situation in the Middle East and Northern Africa already mentioned by the previous speaker. Of course, political and social problems have been piling up for a long time in this region, and people there wanted change. But what was the actual outcome? Instead of bringing about reforms, aggressive intervention rashly destroyed government institutions and the local way of life. Instead of democracy and progress, there is now violence, poverty, social disasters and total disregard for human rights, including even the right to life.
I’m urged to ask those who created this situation: do you at least realize now what you’ve done? But I’m afraid that this question will remain unanswered, because they have never abandoned their policy, which is based on arrogance, exceptionalism and impunity.
Power vacuum in some countries in the Middle East and Northern Africa obviously resulted in the emergence of areas of anarchy, which were quickly filled with extremists and terrorists. The so-called Islamic State has tens of thousands of militants fighting for it, including former Iraqi soldiers who were left on the street after the 2003 invasion. Many recruits come from Libya whose statehood was destroyed as a result of a gross violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1973. And now radical groups are joined by members of the so-called “moderate” Syrian opposition backed by the West. They get weapons and training, and then they defect and join the so-called Islamic State.
In fact, the Islamic State itself did not come out of nowhere. It was initially developed as a weapon against undesirable secular regimes. Having established control over parts of Syria and Iraq, Islamic State now aggressively expands into other regions. It seeks dominance in the Muslim world and beyond. Their plans go further.
The situation is extremely dangerous. In these circumstances, it is hypocritical and irresponsible to make declarations about the threat of terrorism and at the same time turn a blind eye to the channels used to finance and support terrorists, including revenues from drug trafficking, the illegal oil trade and the arms trade.
It is equally irresponsible to manipulate extremist groups and use them to achieve your political goals, hoping that later you’ll find a way to get rid of them or somehow eliminate them.
I’d like to tell those who engage in this: Gentlemen, the people you are dealing with are cruel but they are not dumb. They are as smart as you are. So, it’s a big question: who’s playing who here? The recent incident where the most “moderate” opposition group handed over their weapons to terrorists is a vivid example of that.
We consider that any attempts to flirt with terrorists, let alone arm them, are short-sighted and extremely dangerous. This may make the global terrorist threat much worse, spreading it to new regions around the globe, especially since there are fighters from many different countries, including European ones, gaining combat experience with Islamic State. Unfortunately, Russia is no exception.
Now that those thugs have tasted blood, we can’t allow them to return home and continue with their criminal activities. Nobody wants that, right?
Russia has consistently opposed terrorism in all its forms. Today, we provide military-technical assistance to Iraq, Syria and other regional countries fighting terrorist groups. We think it’s a big mistake to refuse to cooperate with the Syrian authorities and government forces who valiantly fight terrorists on the ground.
We should finally admit that President Assad’s government forces and the Kurdish militia are the only forces really fighting terrorists in Syria. Yes, we are aware of all the problems and conflicts in the region, but we definitely have to consider the actual situation on the ground.
Dear colleagues, I must note that such an honest and frank approach on Russia’s part has been recently used as a pretext for accusing it of its growing ambitions — as if those who say that have no ambitions at all. However, it is not about Russia’s ambitions, dear colleagues, but about the recognition of the fact that we can no longer tolerate the current state of affairs in the world.
What we actually propose is to be guided by common values and common interests rather than by ambitions. Relying on international law, we must join efforts to address the problems that all of us are facing, and create a genuinely broad international coalition against terrorism. Similar to the anti-Hitler coalition, it could unite a broad range of parties willing to stand firm against those who, just like the Nazis, sow evil and hatred of humankind. And of course, Muslim nations should play a key role in such a coalition, since Islamic State not only poses a direct threat to them, but also tarnishes one of the greatest world religions with its atrocities. The ideologues of these extremists make a mockery of Islam and subvert its true humanist values.
I would also like to address Muslim spiritual leaders: Your authority and your guidance are of great importance right now. It is essential to prevent people targeted for recruitment by extremists from making hasty decisions, and those who have already been deceived and, due to various circumstances, found themselves among terrorists, must be assisted in finding a way back to normal life, laying down arms and putting an end to fratricide.
In the days to come, Russia, as the current President of the UN Security Council, will convene a ministerial meeting to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the threats in the Middle East. First of all, we propose exploring opportunities for adopting a resolution that would serve to coordinate the efforts of all parties that oppose Islamic State and other terrorist groups. Once again, such coordination should be based upon the principles of the UN Charter.
We hope that the international community will be able to develop a comprehensive strategy of political stabilization, as well as social and economic recovery in the Middle East. Then, dear friends, there would be no need for setting up more refugee camps. Today, the flow of people forced to leave their native land has literally engulfed, first, the neighbouring countries, and then Europe. There are hundreds of thousands of them now, and before long, there might be millions. It is, essentially, a new, tragic Migration Period, and a harsh lesson for all of us, including Europe.
I would like to stress that refugees undoubtedly need our compassion and support. However, the only way to solve this problem for good is to restore statehood where it has been destroyed, to strengthen government institutions where they still exist, or are being re-established, to provide comprehensive military, economic and material assistance to countries in a difficult situation, and certainly to people who, despite all their ordeals, did not abandon their homes. Of course, any assistance to sovereign nations can, and should, be offered rather than imposed, in strict compliance with the UN Charter. In other words, our Organisation should support any measures that have been, or will be, taken in this regard in accordance with international law, and reject any actions that are in breach of the UN Charter. Above all, I believe it is of utmost importance to help restore government institutions in Libya, support the new government of Iraq, and provide comprehensive assistance to the legitimate government of Syria.
Dear colleagues, ensuring peace and global and regional stability remains a key task for the international community guided by the United Nations. We believe this means creating an equal and indivisible security environment that would not serve a privileged few, but everyone. Indeed, it is a challenging, complicated and time-consuming task, but there is simply no alternative.
Sadly, some of our counterparts are still dominated by their Cold War-era bloc mentality and the ambition to conquer new geopolitical areas. First, they continued their policy of expanding NATO – one should wonder why, considering that the Warsaw Pact had ceased to exist and the Soviet Union had disintegrated.
Nevertheless, NATO has kept on expanding, together with its military infrastructure. Next, the post-Soviet states were forced to face a false choice between joining the West and carrying on with the East. Sooner or later, this logic of confrontation was bound to spark off a major geopolitical crisis. And that is exactly what happened in Ukraine, where the people’s widespread frustration with the government was used for instigating a coup d’état from abroad. This has triggered a civil war. We are convinced that the only way out of this dead end lies through comprehensive and diligent implementation of the Minsk agreements of February 12th, 2015. Ukraine’s territorial integrity cannot be secured through the use of threats or military force, but it must be secured. The people of Donbas should have their rights and interests genuinely considered, and their choice respected; they should be engaged in devising the key elements of the country’s political system, in line with the provisions of the Minsk agreements. Such steps would guarantee that Ukraine will develop as a civilized state, and a vital link in creating a common space of security and economic cooperation, both in Europe and in Eurasia.
Ladies and gentlemen, I have deliberately mentioned a common space for economic cooperation. Until quite recently, it seemed that we would learn to do without dividing lines in the area of the economy with its objective market laws, and act based on transparent and jointly formulated rules, including the WTO principles, which embrace free trade and investment and fair competition. However, unilaterally imposed sanctions circumventing the UN Charter have all but become commonplace today. They not only serve political objectives, but are also used for eliminating market competition.
I would like to note one more sign of rising economic selfishness. A number of nations have chosen to create exclusive economic associations, with their establishment being negotiated behind closed doors, secretly from those very nations’ own public and business communities, as well as from the rest of the world. Other states, whose interests may be affected, have not been informed of anything, either. It seems that someone would like to impose upon us some new game rules, deliberately tailored to accommodate the interests of a privileged few, with the WTO having no say in it. This is fraught with utterly unbalancing global trade and splitting up the global economic space.
These issues affect the interests of all nations and influence the future of the entire global economy. That is why we propose discussing those issues within the framework of the United Nations, the WTO and the G20. Contrary to the policy of exclusion, Russia advocates harmonizing regional economic projects. I am referring to the so-called ”integration of integrations“ based on the universal and transparent rules of international trade. As an example, I would like to cite our plans to interconnect the Eurasian Economic Union with China’s initiative for creating a Silk Road economic belt. We continue to see great promise in harmonizing the integration vehicles between the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union.
Ladies and gentlemen, one more issue that shall affect the future of the entire humankind is climate change. It is in our interest to ensure that the coming UN Climate Change Conference that will take place in Paris in December this year should deliver some feasible results. As part of our national contribution, we plan to limit greenhouse gas emissions to 70–75 percent of the 1990 levels by the year 2030.
However, I suggest that we take a broader look at the issue. Admittedly, we may be able to defuse it for a while by introducing emission quotas and using other tactical measures, but we certainly will not solve it for good that way. What we need is an essentially different approach, one that would involve introducing new, groundbreaking, nature-like technologies that would not damage the environment, but rather work in harmony with it, enabling us to restore the balance between the biosphere and technology upset by human activities.
It is indeed a challenge of global proportions. And I am confident that humanity does have the necessary intellectual capacity to respond to it. We need to join our efforts, primarily engaging countries that possess strong research and development capabilities, and have made significant advances in fundamental research. We propose convening a special forum under the auspices of the UN to comprehensively address issues related to the depletion of natural resources, habitat destruction, and climate change. Russia is willing to co-sponsor such a forum.
Ladies and gentlemen, dear colleagues. On January 10th, 1946, the UN General Assembly convened for its first meeting in London. Chairman of the Preparatory Commission Dr. Zuleta Angel, a Colombian diplomat, opened the session by offering what I see as a very concise definition of the principles that the United Nations should be based upon, which are good will, disdain for scheming and trickery, and a spirit of cooperation. Today, his words sound like guidance for all of us.
Russia is confident of the United Nations’ enormous potential, which should help us avoid a new confrontation and embrace a strategy of cooperation. Hand in hand with other nations, we will consistently work to strengthen the UN’s central, coordinating role. I am convinced that by working together, we will make the world stable and safe, and provide an enabling environment for the development of all nations and peoples. Thank you.
Way to go. Waaaaaayyyyy to go people!!!!
Will there be any transcript or some link to it please?
Attached is the prepared text of his speech from the UN website. It does not reflect if his speech had any changes or extemporaneous remarks. I certainly hope it did as there was plenty he could offer in rebuttal to Obama’s speech.

@Mercy,
Here you go:

Everything that comes out of President Putin and what he does makes sense. What a breath of fresh air this man is. Can we clone him?
I would order 1 thousand of him and put him ( them?) all over the world as leaders.
Regards,
Carmel by the Sea
Thank you for posting this comprehensive transcript. Thank you to everyone else also for getting the information/transcripts on the site.
Thanks. Truly a great speech worthy of the title Putin The Great!
TR- moderation and Alan,
You are quite welcome.
btw…I meant to write “everything that comes out of Presidents Putin’s mouth”. I forgot to type “mouth”.
I do agree mn. If we can find a good transcript it would be great, as the computer driven translator makes no sense what so ever. I’ve been looking but so far not found anything but “highlights”.

I read only brief excerpts, expected more, probably I´ll wait for some analysis to learn what Putin has said between the lines. The USSR had massive propaganda and shitty communist idea. Now Russia could be the beacon for western countries but feels as if they had nothing to say. I mean Putin hasn´t said anything that we already do not know. Churkin could have done the same job with more drama, or Lavrov with more irony.
he is ex intel. officer. He will not tell a single word overmuch which would help/make excuse for Obama & Co. to twist his words, make predictions and act accordingly. We all know what is doing and that is enough for us. I think that he don’t like to be there anyway, but it delivered speech and ready to return home. Lot has to be undone of what empire did.
“I read only brief excerpts, expected more”.
Says it all, doesn’t it? Go look at the entire speech. Then (if you can stand it) look at the one given by Barack Obama. Mull each one over in your mind, maybe catch snatches from other speakers. Maybe even take in the entire transcript of Pope Francis’s UN insistence that care for the environment and the less fortunate among us are indivisibly linked.
It’s all being served up here on the internet on a silver platter. We are the most fortunate generation in this respect (other respects, not so much). Don’t wait for ‘analysis’ – think for yourself. Form an opinion. If you cannot do so after watching both these men speak in a public forum, take a nap and then try again. Your mind will come to some conclusions whilst you are sleeping that will be truer than any ‘analysis’ you may find online.
Your observation that Putin did not say anything we do not already know is the most encouraging part of your comment, but then, you haven’t watched the entire speech, so really it doesn’t make sense, any more than the ‘analysis’ of Pope Francis’s speeches has done for me. Trust me; the actual entire address is frequently very different from (and better than)the best analysis offered by anyone.
Juliania,
You make great sense. Encourage the passive minds to turn up their own efforts. It’s the beginning of wisdom. Think, therefore you are someone.
An Idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Most folks think keeping it in neutral is a smart move. It is a pathetic state of being.
Too many are timid. But ultimately, each person is capable if they make the effort.
@ Juliana:
To be fair, I did watch it live (and yes, granted, the translator was atrocious), but I have to concur with Anon [Sept 8, 2015 · at 6:38 pm UTC], Putin didn’t say anything we don’t already know.
But! But! Also in fairness, neither did Oblamo (yes, I had to suffer through the whole thing live too as I was waiting for Putin’s address), the US’s position is as it’s always been. So much for all the speculation about how the US might be ready to “negotiate”… or willing to listen to reason.
-TL2Q
I got that too.We are “day dreaming” if we think the US is changing. Its all wishful thinking on our part. And we need to stop that and face reality. You don’t defeat evil ,by hoping the evil ones will change and stop being evil. They are at the top of the “heap” because of being evil. They aren’t about to give that up without a fight. So either shine up our knee-pads,or get prepared to fight are our two choices.
Rather interesting to speculate where things will go from here.
I have to agree, I doubt very much that there will be “Peace in our time.”
Bob,
Putin didn’t say much – you said you’d be disappointed in those circumstances.
Are you?
T2LQ, ‘Exceptionalists’ like the USA and Israel do not negotiate. They subvert, sanction, attack, murder, destroy, but never, ever, negotiate with those they regard as beneath them. It’s the ubermenschen delusion, the ‘God-ordained’ ‘Chosen People’ syndrome, where creatures as plainly evil and inferior in every human dimension save those dedicated to malignancy and malevolence, like Obama, Satan-yahoo, Hollande, Harper, Cameron, Abbott etc, regard themselves as ‘Gods upon the Earth’. In a way it’s best this way, because coming into contact with these vermin risks the transference of their spiritual evil to those attempting to deal with them. Their word is worth nothing, and the moment you think you have reached an accommodation with them is the moment they are planning your and your country’s destruction. Just ask Gaddaffi.
@ Anon [Sep 28, 2015 · at 10:19 pm UTC]
You’re preaching to the choir there my good man/gal :)
Never the less; great post, stuff like what you pointed out, can’t be said enough times.
Hope to see you around again!
-TL2Q
Absolutelly right….Mr. Putin know it…and he show it to theirs faces his way…
I would have expected Obama to say lots that we didn’t already know. Maybe nothing we didn’t expect him to say, but technically, you can’t “know” things that ain’t so. ;)
@ Purple L Guy:
“[..] but technically, you can’t “know” things that ain’t so. ;)”
You mean like there are: “[..] known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don’t know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don’t know we don’t know” _ D. Rumsfeld

That interpreter was quite poor, yes. I switched to the French channel after 2-3 minutes.
What happened to the UN? They used to have good interpreters…
Speaking for myself – I am not interested in Obama´s speech too (already saw a few lines). His words mean nothing. We know him by his deeds.
I do have my opinion but prefer work of professionals, i.e. analysts. They have more time, sources and facts to compare and elaborate. Even wise politicians as Putin make use of them. (Or do you consider also this blog and Saker´s analysis for useless?)
Concerning the Pope: I agree with reaction of D. Trump (advising him first to take some migrants to Vatican).
@mercy:
“They have more time, sources and facts to compare and elaborate.”
… and also to twist, spin and take out of the context. Unless you really regard yourself uncapable of critical thinking, why would you PREFER the work of “professionals”? Read to know what others think is good and healthy, but prefer someone else’s digest to your own insights, to seek it before you form your own opinion, even if tentative? This is how the world got into this mess in the first place.
Obama’s speech was that of the practised liar, the life-long dissembler, the grotesque egotist, the marionette recruited by Zionists at college, then financed and promoted by rich Chicago Jews throughout his career. In short that of the psychopath who personally selects those to be murdered by drone attack (with family, neighbours and other innocents)then goes out to play golf, his conscience untroubled because he has none. A truly memorable monster. And the Western MSM lie-machine is waxing hysterical, of course, Putin inducing a sort of added derangement in these filthy liars, like vampires cornered by a vampire-killer armed with garlic, Holy Water, and one hopes, a ready supply of wooden stakes and silver bullets.
A fair assessment.
It was sickening…
Putin: Will it be the rule of law or the rule of force?
“Whatever actions any state might take bypassing this procedure [debate, compromise, votes subject to veto in the Security Council] are illegitimate. They run counter to the charter and defy international law. We all know that after the end of the Cold War — everyone is aware of that — a single center of domination emerged in the world, and then those who found themselves at the top of the pyramid were tempted to think that if they were strong and exceptional, they knew better and they did not have to reckon with the U.N., which, instead of [acting to] automatically authorize and legitimize the necessary decisions, often creates obstacles or, in other words, stands in the way.
It has now become commonplace to see that in its original form, it has become obsolete and completed its historical mission. Of course, the world is changing and the U.N. must be consistent with this natural transformation. Russia stands ready to work together with its partners on the basis of full consensus, but we consider the attempts to undermine the legitimacy of the United Nations as extremely dangerous. They could lead to a collapse of the entire architecture of international organizations, and then indeed there would be no other rules left but the rule of force.”

US Ready to Work with Russia, Iran on Syria: Obama
September 28, 2015 – 19:22
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – US President Barack Obama addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Monday, telling world leaders Washington is willing to work with Iran and Russia on resolving the current crisis in war-torn Syria.
printPrint
Referring to the spread of the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group in Syria and Iraq, Obama promised to work with the international community because the US cannot resolve world problems by itself.
“because the US cannot resolve world problems by itself.”
Er, OBozo, how about simply trying not to create such problems *in the first place* ??
That was just for “propaganda” purposes. The rest of his speech showed he didn’t mean it at all.We shouldn’t be fooled by a “one” positive,in an otherwise negative hate speech.I fear though, that our side will jump all over that. As somehow, “proof”, the US is beginning to accept reason. Its totally untrue and day dreaming on our part.Yet I’ve seen some article headlines with that quote, doing just that.
When that practised, conscienceless, liar Obama says that the USA will ‘co-operate’, it’s time to be on your guard. The psychopaths who rule the world from Mordor-on-the-Potomac don’t do ‘co-operation’. It’s beneath their dignity as God’s Chosen People, with a Manifest Destiny to rule the world, forever. The funny thing is that US elite megalomania only grows as their rotten, corrupt, morally putrescent country dissolves back into the primordial slime. From barbarism to decadence without an intervening period of civilisation, in any meaningful sense.
Well, the USA did produce some decent pop music.
But, for three centuries in an “empty” mid-latitude continent, one might hope for more.
we know that, but speech by Putin is also important because we need REST OF the masses to also understand that. I think it’s making headway, just too slowly to our liking.
Maybe yes, maybe no, maybe maybe.
I’ll take “Who knows?” for a billion rubles, Alex.
Retaliation by Iran for the same tactic that was pulled on them, when (2007) they supposedly signed for those S-300s but Russia has so far refused to deliver.
An Iranian official has denied reports that the country had signed contracts to buy Superjet 100 passenger aircraft from Russia.
The rebuttal by head of the Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) Ali Abedzadeh came after a Russian news agency alleged that Iran had signed contracts worth $21 billion to buy satellite equipment and aircraft from Russia.
“Any contract for the purchase of aircraft has to be signed between the airline as the operator and the manufacturing company and only aviation companies are responsible for purchase or lease of aircraft,” Abedzadeh said.

Trump–feigning ignorance, or just ignorant?
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says he would reduce the American involvement in Syria in favor of a greater military role by Russia in the fight against the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group.
“Russia wants to get rid of ISIS. We want to get rid of ISIS. Maybe let Russia do it. Let them get rid of ISIS. What the hell do we care?” Trump said in an interview with CBS aired on Sunday, using another acronym for the Takfiri terror network.
The Republican front-runner also said that the United States should step back and let Daesh terrorists fight the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The wild, wild west, 21st century naval version.
http://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2015/09/27/431018/us-navy-pacific-admiral-scott-swift-japan-obama-military-
Expansion of the United States military presence in the Western Pacific Ocean originates from Washington’s thirst for “full-spectrum dominance,” which is indicative of the “panic” the country is experiencing, says a Boston-based political commentator.
US Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Scott Swift has recently been calling for Third Fleet to cooperate more with the Japan-based Seventh Fleet for more engagement on areas of the West Pacific, where there is the “greatest instability.”
this one obviously aimed at China. I’m sure the Chinese understand.
Precisely, Anon. The sheer viciousness of the MSM hate-mongering against Russia and China, but Putin in particular, indicates that the savage thugs who rule in the West, and their propaganda stooges, are shit scared that the days of their bullying, exploiting and contemptuously dismissing the rest of humanity are over. Their societies are crumbling, their economic model is imploding, and their military massacres and devastations are being resisted. Their great fear is internal revolt, as the 99% that are being left further and further behind can surely not much longer tolerate being ground into the dust. Unfortunately, as the deranged hatred of Putin, Assad, Xi etc shows, these rabid pole-cats will only grow more dangerous when cornered. Any society that produces monsters like Trump, Obama, Clinton and hundreds of others, is spiritually dead, and the prospect of spiritually evil monsters screeching about their ‘moral values’ never ceases to nauseate.
Obama has absolutely no shame. His speech is just ridiculous. I can’t believe he stands infront the of the world leaders and lies through his teeth.
What are you talking about? That guy is a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate — Putin not so. Obama knows he has warm admirers in “The International Community” and performs accordingly in front of the latter, understood?
Which he did nothing to earn. He was in office less than a month when the Nobel committee voted to give him the award. He was awarded the prize solely because he wasn’t George W Bush and a lot of people still believed all that phony rhetoric about “Hope and Change”.
Since then, he has continued the Bush administrations policies in the Middle East and elsewhere, almost to the letter. He also greatly expanded the Bush administration’s assassination-by-drone program.
You do understand that decisions of the committee that awards the Nobel Peace Prize are purely political and that some very dubious characters have been awarded the Peace Prize even though they didn’t deserve it.
He was being “sarcastic”,over Obama getting the Peace Prize.
Well, Mr. Putin has spoken and has spoken well, he has not left any topic in the pipeline.
Now, after a speech full of hostility, lies and patological projection by Obama, straight home without delaying a minute.
Do not drink water nor eat anything that is not served by their own people in the presidential plane.
Good and safe trip, Mr. President.
You looked very favored, firm but without bluster.
@ Elsi:
“Now, after a speech full of hostility, lies and patological projection by Obama [..]”
Obama speech was 90% lies, exaggerations, and fabrications (we’re still on the subject of Assad butchering his own people?!?!).
Seriously, who can bear to hear this Bozo talking about the “International Rule of Law,” when we all know the US is the number one violator of such law!
If nothing else; his speech was a world-class lesson on Orwellian Doublespeak. It cannot be described as anything else.

Friend senior strategist, yes, Obama looked very nervous and tense even in the chair before begin his speech, and all that playing at home …….
Well, to ours, you see, I have to travel in a couple of days, vacation, finally! I need to rest these nights because I must drive. Could you please confirm me if Mr. Putin is already in RF and is well? Yesterday I saw him a bit deteriorated in the press conference. I know you can confirm it.
Come on, roll up a little and send me a sign …..
You see, I have not the nerves of the damn Beria …..
I’ll be out a while and I will try to avoid electronic devices.
Thanks a lot for your recommendations and for all in advance. See you soon.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Local sources said that the Chinese military will soon send its aircraft and aerial equipment to the Hmamiyat Airfields inside the Syrian Bassel Al-Assad International Airport to join the Russian and Syrian air fleet.
The recent news of the Chinese Navy’s imminent arrival in the Syrian port-city of Tartous has renewed the optimism that was once lost among the Syrian people living under the government-controlled parts of Syria, Syrian media quoted informed sources as saying.
When the Chinese Navy finally arrives in Tartous, they will be welcomed by their Russian counterparts that are already stationed in Syria’s Western countryside; however, unlike their Russian allies, the Chinese will not likely send infantry units to deploy around the country, the sources said according to Massdar news outlet.
So just how long does it take to get there.I heard 3 days ago claims that they passed through the Suez Canal. My map shows that Syria isn’t that far along the coast from there.Did they take a long “lunch break” or something.
Probably because “soon” also translates to the same context & usage in both languages!
That word became a personal favorite for me long before I graduated kindergarten.
So many creative ways to use it vaguely & opaquely.
True, like when your parents tell you to come in and do your homework,”OK I’ll be in soon”. But then that’s my point.Hopefully,we aren’t getting the “homework” line over the Chinese coming to help.Since XI said in his speech about China willing to aid countries with peacekeepers and military aid, maybe not.But still,I’ll feel better when they finally get to Syria.
I did watch both Putin’s and Obama’s speeches – not in the order in which they were given but here online, and at rt.com. A sad news item has kept entering my mind, which some of you may have read about.
In Hamilton, New Zealand, an endangered Sumatran tiger in a small zoo there attacked and killed a custodian. She was an experienced worker at the zoo, had two children. The tigers were all let out of their cages so that they could be cleaned, and somehow the one male returned and slew the woman. The surmise was that he felt his territory threatened – I do not know much more than this.
What I do know is that in spite of this terrible occurrence, the New Zealand public didn’t want the tiger to be killed. Photos showed it snarling and yellow-eyed, a truly demonic visage – like Blake’s ‘Tiger, tiger burning bright in the forests of the night. . .”
Here is the problem raised by the two speeches (three, if you include the one by Pope Francis.)
A terrible atrocity on the world has been committed by powerful means of the United States (and others) by means of military might – that might Obama crowed about. Not just one mother savagely slain – many, and children, and fathers too. A mad, bestial force is among us, even claiming to protect us or enlighten us, while fostering and committing this mayhem.
Somehow we must contain this force. We can’t eradicate it. It will always be. But it can be contained. It must be contained.
Yes, lots of mad blood-lust present in those reared within the Outlaw Empire–I recall The behavior of John Wayne’s character in The Searcherswho just couldn’t wait to kill, and all too many other examples spoon fed to the Empire’s youth–with video “games,” even more graphic mayhem is made available to warp young minds.
It’s good you out the Great Evil living within the Outlaw Empire. It was dubbed the Great Satan for good reason. That it continues as such is due to it not being called the Great Satan often enough by the planet’s people.
Outlaw, murder has been a sacramental act in the United States ever since the first colonists set out to exterminate the natives, holding the Bible aloft and quoting the genocides of the Canaanites by the Israelites as their justification. Murder and genocide as religious obligation. As the Yesha Council of Rabbis and Torah Sages declared in 2006, as Lebanon was being bombed ‘back to the Stone Age’, with power-stations, mosques, hospitals, schools, ware-houses, fleeing civilians etc all deliberately targeted, under Judaic Law killing civilians is not just permissible, but is in fact a ‘mitzvah’, or religiously sanctioned good deed. That is the mentality of the US and Israeli elites, and that of many others amongst the Western ruling caste, most markedly among the monsters installed in Ukraine. And in the non-Western world the West always seeks out the most violent and murderous to act as stooges, because they are the type who most closely resemble the Boss.
“The behavior of John Wayne’s character in The Searcherswho just couldn’t wait to kill”
Eventually even he worked it out and didn’t kill his neice.
Yes, he did, but at great pain. Quite the movie when it was released. Unfortunately, most have yet to “work it out,” but that fact does not excuse them.
“Unfortunately, most have yet to “work it out,” but that fact does not excuse them.”
Perhaps you are not very experienced in strategy formulation, inplementation and monitoring hence your use of “unfortunately” followed by “most”.
You appear also to be wandering in the binary desert of most/lesser.
Deserts are generally arid; aridity generally inhibits growth.
“but that fact does not excuse them”
Excuse is not a consideration, except for the weak and the immersed; opportunities for facilitation of lateral challenge are considerations.
It may seem “counter-intuitive” but the binary perception of others is a vector for lateral challenge, often leading the others to an iteration of the binary, as for example the “strategy” of the Clinton administration from 1994 onwards.
The recent insistence by the opponents that President Assad should be removed is another example.
“Yes, he did, but at great pain”
Pain is a message to the brain affording opportunities of facilitating remedy.
Amelioration is a displacement strategy akin to going to a physician with smallpox and being prescribed cold creme for the spots.
Iteration of the binary is similarly a displacement strategy, since the iteration remains within a linear paradigm, although in the short-term this may not be perceived by “most”.
It is interesting that the initial detail you emphasised from The Searchers was the propensity for violence without citing outcomes.
A similar thing often happens to Hans Christian Andersen’s Emperors New Clothes, namely that many think that the story ends when the boy points out that the emperor has no clothes, when in fact the ending is that the emperor drew his clothes tightly around him and “most” of the procession continued.
Human perception also affords opportunities of lateral challenge, although the opponents fervently believe/hope that this is not the case.
Another binary iteration by the opponents.

Juliana,
And the banking cabal who took the decision to maintain the sanctions which killed half a million Iraqi children and destroyed Libya– that banking cabal that owns the American govt still walks free. And the senators and generals too. And are treated with deference.
And nearly everywhere a vast pretense that this is not known.
@ Juliana,
Who really runs/rules this planet?
I don’t know the answer and therefor can only guess, but it can’t be that many, coz it’s a darn dang thing to get more than a handful of people to be on the same page and stay there.
The best way to sever that umbilical
chordcord, is to end family dynasties’ ability to preserve through time. AnotherClingonClinton in the WH? Impossible, coz the law dictates that no wo/man can enter public service, if s/he less than 3 generations away from any family member who previously held such a position [in my book, that is. Reality… well… that’s TV].Power and money corrupt. Congress is filled with too many millionaires to prove me wrong.
But yeah, it has to stop, one way or the other.
I am grateful to the translators for the added transcript to President Putin’s speech – thank you! I add here a pertinent analysis of Obama’s tirade given by the worthy Prof. Michael Hudson, not only for his comments but for the photograph accompanying it. If that’s not a photo of a Sumatran tiger, I don’t know what is.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Leonid Reshetnikov, a senior advisor to the Russian president, underlined Moscow’s serious resolve to help President Bashar Assad’s government to resist against foreign plots and terrorist attacks.
“Russia has reinvigorated its position in Syria and will not at all allow the government of Bashar Assad to fall,” Reshetnikov said in a meeting with former Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Kamal Kharrazi in Tehran on Sunday.
“Actually Syria is a strong fort, the fall of which will spread terrorism to other countries, even to the Caucasus and Central Asia,” he added.
Happened Friday, maybe after hours so few noticed.
Not even sure if it’s true.
He was a NATO general it says, not CENTCOM or AFRICOM.
According to Bloomberg News, General John Allen, President Obama’s special envoy to the International anti-Daesh Coalition, has handed in his resignation and should be replaced within a month [1].
Bloomberg presents this news as an unpleasant surprise for President Obama in a period when the United Nations are considering a global action against terrorism.
The resignation of John Allen attests to the fact that President Obama is cleaning up his administration and pursuing his policy of alliance with Teheran and Moscow.
http://www.voltairenet.org/article188818.html
may be that general has been caught helping ISIS instead of killing ISIS.
helping ISIS is the policy, so he didn’t get caught for anything. he failed to overthrow the Assad government.
So,now I’ve listened to both leaders speeches,my rant can start.
What do I think of them? Putin spoke for around 20 minutes. And managed to “subtly” attack the West (US) for what they’ve done, and are doing. But mainly, as I’ve said before about his speech,it was an inclusive speech.Setting out what needed to be done to bring stability and peace to the World.Obama,by contrast spoke for around 45 minutes. And directly attacked,Russia,China,Syria,Iran. And oh yeah, managed to also attack ISIS a bit. While saying it was those other countries policies, that “of course” helped bring ISIS into being to start with.Certainly not, the West’s meddling, funding, training,of them.He didn’t mention that that “might” have caused the problem.
For the 80% of the World that gets their news from the pro-Western MSM.The US was smart enough to have scattered in the gallery, people that would clap at various moments during Obama’s speech. That was the signal for the pro-US nations to join in the clapping. So it appeared the “World Community” agreed with him.Our side wasn’t clever enough to do the same for Putin. So he got the standard clapping at the end.Now for the 20% of the World that aren’t dominated by the MSM,it wouldn’t be difficult to see the difference in credibility of the two leaders speeches. But for the 80% of MSM sheeple. They saw,the “audience” lapping up Obama’s lies and “feel good” moments, and silent during Putin’s sober truth telling.
As I think we should all be aware by now,”truth” is in the eyes of the beholder. So for World leaders. They will be able to judge what was said by the two men.And certainly Putin will come out the winner there. But for the viewers getting their analysis from the MSM,Obama, with his managed “Disneyland” performance will be acclaimed the winner.Since our side refuses to learn the “art” of propaganda with any competence .I come back to the point I’ve raised before. We shouldn’t give a “flying F…” what others think.Russia needs to do what is best for their security, and the World. And not care about the Western reaction,at all.
@ Uncle Bob 1,
Q; So he got the standard clapping at the end.
R; Who really gives a flying f*** how long the cattle moos? The only thing I care about is what happens in reality, in actuality. Obombi can shove his ‘loose cahnge you can believe in’ anywhere, but where I can see it. It’s like hearing an echo chamber and pretending it’s really 2 voices I’m listening to.
Obombi talks; Putin does. He ha saved many lives, but is still demonized in and by western MSM. The one that gets ecstatic when NATO bombs rain over the heads of people ‘we’ don’t give a f*** about.
MSM is as attractive intellectually, as a stillborn, mutilated and deformed calf is visually. I’m looking the other way…
Well, you and I,are part of the 20%.I’m a realist,we can’t have our “cake and eat it too” unless we bake it first. Our side (Russia in particular) cares way too much for the opinion in the West. And yet,we do little to mold that opinion.Geopolitics is 10% truth and 90% propaganda today. It would be nice if the 10% and 90% was on one and the same side. But that isn’t how it is today. We shouldn’t fool ourselves into thinking we are ahead, until we “are” ahead.Which brings me back to my one and eternal point.Russia needs to not worry over the West’s opinion. But act for her own security, and worry over the West’s opinion after. If our side is going to worry about opinion when defending ourselves we will have to get better at promoting our views better.
Quote “ur side (Russia in particular) cares way too much for the opinion in the West.”
Exactly.
That is what the west takes advantage of. Knowing that Rusdia is inept in fighting through media or finabcial system and only relies on treategic weaopns the west has attacked Russia on alp fronts except through strategic assets. Russia cares too much about opinion of liar English and Americans.

This doesn’t make sense. Putin (rather, the Russian elite) fund RT because they know exactly what way the media works.
As far as financials go i’m sure there are millions of smart Russians quite able to understand derivatives & world economics but yet the Russian cenral bank is still, by choice, controlled by the IMF/World Bank.
Too many things don’t make normal sense.
There is only one conclusion.
It is a class war.
@ Uncle Bob 1,
Q; Russia needs to not worry over the West’s opinion.
R; Russia worries about the west’s actions. The ones actively trying to derail Russia as a whole; as a country, as an entity. When Mr. Putin looks out of his ‘window to the world,’ how many true friends does he see?
This must be the spiritual equivalent of walking through the woods, where any moment any of the trees, shrubs or even plants might attack you.
Don’t forget, you’re dealing with an entity here that doesn’t hesitate to snuff people out, regardless whether they’re a journalist, an activist or even a president.
True, but then that brings us back to the two options I mentioned in a previous post.Shine up the knee-pads or get ready to fight, those are the two choices offered by the West’s actions.I don’t think the first choice fits most Russians very well. But then, it might be fine with the 5th column, that “still” hasn’t be dealt with yet.
@ Uncle Bob 1
Q; True, but then that brings us back to the two options I mentioned in a previous post.
R; True martial art is all about deception [Zui quan, being one of the more famous variations of it].
So, one shines one’s knee pads to create an impression one way [of submission] and smack in a face with them, the other.
Putin didn’t promise me the world. He didn’t draw any red lines. He mentioned international law.
I think therefor that he will use it as a legal umbrella, to try and pacify the ME region… and nobody can say or do anything about it.
Obombi produced a lot of hot air; Putin uses it to fill his balloon with and sail silently to where he wants to be next.
Nobody put up a fight to ‘win’ Crimea back. Nobody will lift a finger once the Russian strategic assets are in place, because nobody [in the FUKUS apparatus] has the cojones to do so.
This time around next year, the world will look different. A better place? Perhaps even more turmoil, but FUKUS has become the Colossus of Rhodes, waiting for an earthquake to destroy it.
“Russia worries about the west’s actions”
Really?
On what data using which evaluation criteria and methods do you support your assertion?
“When Mr. Putin looks out of his ‘window to the world,’ how many true friends does he see?”
Likely he gets by with a little help from his friends, especially if he is not using the Facebook definition of friends.
Uncle bob, I think you’re mad at Putin for being himself instead of you. He’s certainly consistent…(ly) making UB mad because of above trait.
I think all the people that were thinking that Putin’s speech was going to be like dynamite were wishfully thinking something. I was not ‘looking forward with expectations’ to the speech…same old same old. It reminded me of when 1999 turned into 2000…so many people were even thinking they had to do something like buy supplies for it….silly….
Haha, maybe. But I’m not “mad” at him over it.I’m disappointed sometimes in him.But then I try to remember that he isn’t a “God”,but human like all of us.I never thought he would deliver a fiery speech. In fact I said earlier for us not to expect that.I have always liked Putin. And when he pulls off a great move I’m more than happy to cheer him on.At the same time I don’t put any leader on a pedestal.I think when they make mistakes,or miss opportunities, they should be criticized over that.As bad as having a horrible leader,is having a good leader, but he has a “cult of personality”.I’d hate to see that in Putin. And so far I really don’t.
I know, you actually love Putin just like the rest of us Putin lovers….. And I know that its really hard and painful for you to watch Donbass get hit again and again and again. But you know, remember when Putin actually promised the Russians in Donbass that they would be protected ?…and then nothing happened ?….Putin himself would have gone into Donbass I think. It was the other ‘parts’ of the government that prevented this. It must be so hard for Putin to deal with this 5th column. I’m glad he’s got a counter part in the Chinese president…who wasn’t there for the UN assembly ?
Uncle Bob…you must have seen this Putin video eh ? Very Putinesk
https://youtu.be/Ddg7reIOjL0
No I hadn’t,its pretty funny.
“he has a “cult of personality”
In this rendition your statement is wrong, as history has consistently shown when history is not restricted to catechism.
In the redition that others are attempting to create a cult of personality for him, including some contributors to this blog, you are correct.
The world is laterally inter-dynamic and hence the perception of whether a cult of personality exists/does not exist in regard of Mr. Putin afford opportunities of lateral challenge, albeit with differing trajectories.
Putin invoked the phrase UN Charter 5 times and International Law 4 times, plus going outside WTO trade norms several more times as his speech was about reinstalling Law & Order to the International System. Within the US Constitution is a section deemed the Supremacy Clause, which states that all Treaties meld with/into the Constitution becoming part of the Supreme Law of the Land. Now you know why I deem the USA the Outlaw Empire–because it grossly violates its own fundamental law constantly, and has almost since the 1787 Constitution’s inception. This behavior–more than any other–is why the USA’s federal government’s legitimacy is non/null. And that’s why Obama’s speech was “hate speech” as you said since he can’t say anything else–He and his nation are Outlaws to the Nth Degree, and He damn well knows it. Too bad Hugo Chavez isn’t alive to repeat his observation that the hall smells of sulfur.
Putin’s question Do you realize what you’ve done should be answered in the negative because Outlaws don’t give a shit about any consequences of their actions. And the Outlaw Empire’s been acting in contravention of the UN Charter from the day it was invoked and has yet to cease its grossly illegal behavior. And like Hitler’s Germany and Tojo’s Japan, the Outlaw Empire won’t stop until its forced to stop.
“Outlaws don’t give a sh**t about any consequences of their actions.”
That is to be welcomed since it not only affords opportunities for lateral challenge but renders them “exceptionalist”.
All I felt was nausea…..and embarrassment and I am not even American. What all those countries in the world know is that they have already been attacked by the US had their government overturned….and that Obama is full of it. America isn’t rated number one threat to world peace because of Russian propaganda, it is rated that way by the people of the world because it is true.
RR
I had to fight the urge to, A.throw-up, and B.break the computer screen, when watching Obama’s speech.Only 43 minutes to cram it so many lies, and half-truths,while spouting hubris and patting yourself on the back at the same time.I guess I “should” commend him on his “multi-tasking” skills.
The Hubris of Empire was dripping with blood on the floor of the UN today.
Uncle Bob,
Yeah.
That’s why I won’t be listening to that lyin’, low-down, no-good trash Barry.
I got to respect ma stomach.
Oh… I so feel you Uncle B….
One minor gripe: Truth doesn’t rest in the eye of the beholder (I did get your metaphor though) beauty might, but not Truth.
Truth, unlike most people like to believe it’s not subjective, it’s objective. And also unlike lies that need to be repeated and reinforced constantly [example: propaganda] Truth simply ‘is’.
No artificial effort is required for the Truth to simply be.
Plenty of efforts are required to suppress it though, like; CIA, NSA, National Security gagging orders, kangaroo courts, censuring, persecuting whistle blowers, and on and on it goes, doesn’t it?
But don’t worry, I got what you meant though: the zombies [all filled-up to the brim with MSM propaganda] either if they’re so-called ‘world leaders’ or the regular folk watching this event on their televisions at home, they will see what’s been said through their respective propaganda tinted glasses.
And that’s one thing that worries me, because, both speeches, Obama’s and Putin’s leave a lot of room for interpretation. At times they were vague enough to turn themselves into a blank canvass where people can project their own ideas onto.
And this is why I’m bracing myself already for excessively optimistic ‘analyses’ (or as you coined them) from “our side,” while the other side will do the same for their side too.
This is bringing back memories (that I thought I forgot them) from around the time when Obama was a presidential candidate. Remember his campaign speeches? The guy was a total blank canvass: change you can believe in – what the hell is that supposed to mean?
Oh! But people went wild! ‘Yes, yes! Change!!! Please, change!!’
Meanwhile: Obama was the presidential candidate with the most Wall Street money behind him, hence: that was signaling that by hook or by crook, he was the anointed one set to win.
The rest is history.
All I can say to people at large who might be reading this random post in this sea of comments… be very weary of vague statements. Do no project yourselves into blank canvasses. Don’t play guess games. Ask questions, ask clarifications, ask the blank canvass in question to be specific, put them on the spot. Be at the ready for cheap sound-bites answers such as; democracy, freedom, the will of the people…

Objective reality exists independently of our consciousness of it but is also knowable….that is that task of science….You can have your own opinion….but facts are facts. What so many posit as “competing narratives” are competing lies. Have we passed the post modern moment? I believe we have, reality is asserting itself today at the UN-in spite of the obfuscations.
Thanks for the post.

Haha,I did change the quote a bit to fit my purpose. But I’m not so sure that truth just “is”.Sometimes what we know as “truth” can be framed to appear differently. If you ever saw the Karate Kid movie, you can see what I mean in this short video. It reminded me of Obama’s speech. If we didn’t have other knowledge of “truth” we would probably accept his interpretation of the truth.Sometimes how two people see something being the truth is colored by their own ideas.Another small example was a video I saw a few days ago.In the video it showed total death and destruction in Iraq.It was horrible, dead bodies, bombs going off, children maimed or dead.It was from the time of the US invasion and occupation. And the purpose of the video was to show the horror of the scene there, “for the US soldiers that were there”.Not pointing out the suffering of the Iraqis to be sad over, but how the “soldiers” suffered “having” to live through that.I wanted to puke. The soldiers suffering!!! They were the cause of the suffering that the video showed. But the viewers were supposed to be “crying” for “them” having to live through that.It was amazing the callous hypocrisy I saw on the video. But even worse were the viewer comments. Not a single one of the many comments pointed out that the US caused all of that suffering. All of them commiserated with the “poor soldiers” having to suffer “so much”,it was truly sickening.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=279&v=C_Gz_iTuRMM
It seems the link isn’t working well. This one show do better:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=4&v=C_Gz_iTuRMM
@ Uncle B:
Thanks for sharing the vid, I don’t think I’ll be watching it though, I can’t erase bad images off my mind for weeks afterworlds. I was traumatized after seeing the video Bradley Manning leaked (yanks gunning civilians down from an apache helicopter) and you can’t see much there since it’s in black and white and it’s relatively far.
But it’s not like I’m seeking to bury my head in the sand about things like these, on the contrary, but just reading about them is bad enough for me, but actually watching footage or even photos give me endless nightmares (that’s why I don’t watch horror films either, even though that’s just actors in make-up and these days; CGI).
But yeah, I know what you mean, the poor little soldiers and the horrors they had to suffer. This reminds me of a Vietnam film (one of the big ones, can’t remember which now), I was quite young when I saw it (probably too young to be watching it, around 10 y/o, something like that) and the whole thing was framed in a way for the audience to empathize with the american soldiers. At that age I didn’t know what the Vietnam war was about, but my first reaction was; what were the americans doing all the way over there? Secondly; I was wondering why we should be feeling so sorry for the american soldiers and completely ignore their victims; the civilians or fighters from the other side. It really didn’t make sense to me, and the whole film made me quite angry.
“But I’m not so sure that truth just “is” [..]”
What I meant to say by Truth “is,” is that Truth is not open to interpretation. Is like the old proverb; if a tree falls in the forest and there’s no-one to hear it, does it make a sound? Well, the truth is that it does make a sound! Sound-waves happen independently if there are ears around to detect the sound or not.
Equally; the Truth is still the truth even if there’s no one there to observe it.
Take the sudden extinction of the dinosaurs; the theory says that a meteor wiped them out. Truth is that we don’t really know, not for sure anyways. Also the truth is that “someone” or “something” wiped them out, and it might take humanity to advance in science for another couple of hundred years to answer that question for sure. But either way; there’s a real reason – the true-truth if you will – of what wiped the dinosaurs, the fact that we don’t know it yet, doesn’t mean the ‘real’ truth is not there waiting to be uncovered.
I hope, that explains what I was trying to conveyed earlier a bit better.
-TL2Q
@ TL2Q,
I’ve listened to the speech twice and red the transcript once. They’re not the exact same, but in both cases, I don’t really detect a blank canvas [in Putin’s case]. He doesn’t name names, because he doesn’t need to. I, you and most others know exactly who he really addresses during his speech.
He also explains that this is no longer the way the world will move forward, be it militarily, politically, economically and/or environmentally. He has reached out his hand, for Russia, as a nation, to work with others, and now it’s up to the rest of the world to do the same.
They asked a 10th dan aikido master, “What will be your greatest victory?”
His answer was simple and soft spoken, “When I, if someone attacks me in an attempt to kill me…”
“Grab his knife and kill him with it!” I yelled.
That became a short, but horrid trip to humiliation street, when he finished his sentence with the following line, “… can turn him into a friend.”
That is true food for thought.
I dare anyone of you to simultaneously listen to one language and translate it into another. You can’t and I can’t either. In many cases, translation results in ‘loss.’ Loss of the essence of words chosen to reflect a certain or insecurity in one language, that can have the opposite result/meaning in another.
Those of you who do understand the Russian language, are very fortunate and I hope you will share the most crucial elements of Mr. Putin’s speech that are missing or mistranslated with the rest of us.
For examples of this, I would like to introduce you to Kristina Rus and her work over at Fort Russ. She has my respect and admiration.
You are absolutely right. It is very very difficult, especially in speeches like this.
I listened to both, the original Russian and the simultaneous English translation, and I can tell you – the translation was pretty good!
Another speech that no one should miss is the Mr. Xi Jinping´s, who pledged one billion dollars for the work of UN peacekeepers who were received with joy by the presidential table of the assembly, also pledged troops for the same tasks, and finally, pledged military and logistics aid for “free” for the African countries, prompting widespread acclaim in the benches of almost all these countries. It was much applauded by all in the end.
It was not – “The April Thesis.” No! It was not anything!
After millions of Arabs, hundreds of thousands of Iranians, and ten thousand Russians, have been butchered by the Zionist American Terrorist Butchers, that’s all he (President Vladimir Putin), representing the Russian people, had to say? That’s it? No Names? No denunciations?
No crystal clarity? No clarity? Just Political Speak?
1. No exposés of who murdered the Kennedys and overthrew the American Republic?
2. No exposé of exactly who lied about those weapons of mass destruction and invaded and slaughtered 1 million Iraquis?
3. No exposé of how those office buildings fell straight down on 9/11, including building #3 which wasn’t even hit by an airplane?
4. No exposé of the names and families of the terrorist scum parading around pretending to be humans?
5. What about those Zionist American Nazi bases in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania? No action on those bases just a few yards from St Petersburg.
Just what the did President Vladimir Putin come to the center of the universe, the center of the Foundation, NYC, for, anyway? What was the point? Just to say nothing? That is what he said. He said nothing. They always say nothing. Revolutionaries say something. They, always say – nothing.
You might as well listen to Hollywood Braken Obomber. He, at least says something. He always reads a beautifully manicured diatribe. If you are into diatribes, I can recommend the NYT, or the Huffington Post, or Obomber. Who is Putin planning on convincing with his bland (gay) time wasters? The politicians present? The upper class quiche eating political representatives of the member nations of the UN? We know what they are good for. Hey! I used to know some of them.
Some years ago.
I attended with wife, as an invited guest, a Yugoslav hosted event at the UN shortly after the major surgery had been committed upon that unfortunate nation, and about the same time of the huge body blow and almost collapse of the Russian state.
It was a cold, beautiful, windy day. The wife and I arrived early, and walked in the park outside, held hands, viewed the East River, I gave her a peck, or should have.
It was a nice gathering, where nobody said anything too clear. No names. No fire. No Anarchists allowed (little did they know; it pays to be unfamous).
I know; what do I expect from President Vladimir Putin. He will be remembered by history, and I won’t (thank god). What do I want? The impossible? I always want the impossible. A date with Sheryl Crow.
“I have a dream.”
Mr Putin should have behaved like the early Makhno, Ochs, like Lenin’s anarchist brother, like Lenin, like Delacroix, the guy in the bathtub, Jeane D’Arc, Toussaint, Malcolm X, Durruti, Coahtemoc, Zapata, Bakunin, Baez, Snowden, Pedro Albizu Campos, all those who can’t get printed in the NYT or inside the UN.
He could have been the one! Now he appears bland; he risks fading away; he risks becoming forgotten.
Wait a minute! I’m already forgotten.

@ Peter J.Antonsen,
Who cares about words?
I only care about deeds.
I don’t give a f*** about what people tell me they’re going to do; I only care about what they’ve done.
Have you ever been in a real fight?
If so, what did you say?
I’m not privy to Mr. Putin’s inner circles or train of thought. No matter what he would have said, it would always be vilified; one way or another, by one outlet or another.
Kiev did not attack the Donbass [in full combat mode], the US did not bomb Syria and Iran does have a nuclear ‘deal.’.
Why is that?
Daniel Rich
“Who cares about words?”
“I only care about deeds.”
Where do I begin?
Words are deeds. Words in the hands of the leader of a world power??? Have you thought this out? Are the Russian people, Novorossyans, the Syrian people, the Palestinians, Iraquis, Afghanis, etc., “in a real fight?”
Are you for real? Are you cranky? Do you need some warm milk? A tummy rub?
“Kiev did not attack the Donbass [in full combat mode], the US did not bomb Syria and Iran does have a nuclear ‘deal.’.” Did you actually write that? I think you are having an off day. Read my lips. There is a war in Europe. Some 10,000 have died. Some 100,000 have been injured, a previously prosperous and modern city of 1 million has been seriously damaged – Donetz, and a million Russians are refugees inside of Russia. And Iran has NOOO nuclear deal, only a nuclear blackmail, and 500,000 dead from the American financed Iraq assault against them, and a Zionist American air armada revving their motors. And if you read the Saker, at all, the Iranians Still do not possess the S300 Air Defense missiles. Nor will they be receiving them anytime soon – if ever.
The US/NATO are setting up Nuclear bases inside of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, as we insult each other. These bases are a stones throw from major Russian cities. At the sign of the first American sling shot and Boy scout entering these Balkan states, the Russian leadership should have sent their Marines into these irresponsible small nations within the hour.
Can you imagine the American reaction to a Russian military presence in New Jersey? The Russian leadership is pathetic. It is just more of Yeltsin without the alcohol, and therefore, with better speeches. The Russians exude little VISION, display little public pride/commitment to its Democratic Republic, whereas, the USA Oligarchs, who host a totalitarian Oligarchy, brag incessantly about their (nonexistent) democracy.
You are either for a “Democracy and the Republic for which it stands” or something like that, – or just what the hell are you for??? Dictatorship of the Proletariat? – Say What? When you are at the UN, in the US of A, it’s “Showtime” Baby, and it is the time to shine. Showman Donald Trump knows how to do the dance – for the Man. but Monsenior le Putin cannot do a few proper steps for the Great unwashed (that’s us)??? What the F___? Just who the hell is he working for? Who is he doing his deals for?
Who is he respecting?
Who is he showing respect to?
Hey! I’ll take Lev Bronstein, who, with all his mistakes, and he made many, (at least was smart enough to appreciate Frida Kahlo), the American Oligarchs would not allow to re-enter the USA while he was breathing, and they did not allow Sacco and Vanzetti to speak at the UN.
I do not worship government leaders. They are usually assholes.
I worship my own God, and she sings “Leaving Las Vegas” like she’s coming right to me.
*On a private note (joke) to the Saker, I am also getting tired of all this debating, and am going to take a vacation (do I hear cheers? – or I’ll send a bill – just kidding)
For the Democratic Republics!

Q; Words are deeds.
R; First there was action, then there was sound.
“Change You Can Believe In” got the killer joker elected to the WH, twice. Those were words, not deeds.
Also, spoken words differ from written words, becasue nobody speaks they way s/he writes. So, yeah, it gets complicated, pretty darn quick
Others have better explained what Putin really said during his speech. He did not threaten anyone, but made it clear that international law will be the new black.
Everyone should hear this UN speech from
Muammar Gaddaffi

“We can no longer tolerate the current state of affairs in the world…..”
V.Putin.
I guess you missed it. What Putin said today is already a fait accompli in the M.E. Did you miss that as well?
What do you think of some on twitter saying that Putin didn’t go far enough. Read this persons recent tweets: https://twitter.com/SuchanVladimir/status/648582127349559297
On his blog he even goes on to say that he thinks the US forced Putin to downsize his speech: http://vladimirsuchan.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/putins-speech-at-un-much-expected.html?spref=tw
He states:
“Instead of the advertised 50-60 minute speech, Putin spoke just 23 minutes versus Obama’s 43. Pecking order re-affirmed. All too plainly and all too symbolically. For everyone to see.
Thus instead of delivering a historic speech of a statesman, Putin made a statement worthy of a bureaucrat or political technocrat hell bent on rejoining the fold. And trying.”
Michelle,
“What do you think of some on twitter saying that Putin didn’t go far enough.”
You are very perceptive.
Read my comments – right above.
Russia needs to reach down and find some more leadership – as Tolstoy would say, From the Soul.
I believe Putin and his clique have traveled as far as their vehicle will take them. Their transport gets its spare parts in the Zionist-American junk yards.
To be fair you must remember that person is anti-Putin and has been for most of the last year.I think he does have some valid complaints at times. But still,no matter what Putin does he will oppose it.No one that I know of thought his speech would be accusatory (certainly not me).I figured it would be an inclusive speech.Studded with subtle pointed truths, but not a “barn burner” speech.I do wish it would have been a harder speech. But that just isn’t his style. And if we expect differently we will be disappointed every time. What he needs is some underlings that can do the “dirty work” like that for him. That way he can be the “good cop” to their “bad cop”.Russia has too many “good cops” speaking for the government, and not enough “bad cops” speaking,to balance that.
Would people rather listen to a 23 minute succinct and to the point talk or a waffling pile of tosh by a egomaniac for twice the time? It not the quantity its the quality.
Obama and him spoke for 2 hours so obviosly much has been said on the sidelines…….
Putin doing his live press Q&A now.
Thanks a lot, Veritas.
He looks very tired.
I would like him to leave right away.
I do not want him to drink anything there, in that country, and it looks like it’s hot. but he looks like dehydrate.
I agree he does look tired. It has been a very long day for him. I hope he sleeps on the plane back. You could see he was quite impatient with some of the journalists and their silly questions. He did need water.
Salam sister elsi,
Yes, he looked very tired. Netanyahu tried to test Putin in Syria, while Putin was in New York.
“Vladimir Putin: First, this is not a structure, simply cooperation between military agencies, General Staffs, to be more specific. Israel is a regional nation in the sense that it is located in that region. We should, naturally, respect the interests of the Israeli state, and Israel cares what is going on in that country.
At the same time, there are things that cause certain concern, that have to do with the airstrikes at Syrian territory. This should all be considered by experts, and this will be done without setting up any bilateral structures.

Best regards,

Someone should tell Obama that the Emperor has no clothes.
“We can no longer tolerate the current state of affairs in the world…..”
That’s it that’s all.
Oh one thing about the Obama Speech. Bolivia wants Morales to remain president. For that they need to amend the constitution. I what Obama said about changing constitutions to remain in power was a no no. Not like the US never amended their constitution or Ukraine for example.
The face of the US. Manifest destiny, the total belief that they can never be defeated is alive and well.
This UN meeting, the US had the choice of working with the world or continuing in their ambition to rule the world. it is like a Rubicon and the US have just crossed it. No turning back.
The genie was let out of the bottle with the Manhattan Project, and history shows it will be used.
The official transcript is now on Putin’s website: 70th session of the UN General Assembly
His press conference is here: Answers to journalists’ questions
It’s still being translated as of 21:24 EST
Hardly relevant anymore as nothing will ever come of the investigation, but investigators have returned to the MH17 crash site.
http://nsnbc.me/2015/09/28/dutch-investigators-arrive-at-mh17-crash-site/
Western officials will continue returning to the crash site for bogus investigations in the hope that the Donbass says “enough of this”.
Then the corporate Western media can moan about the Russians blocking the process which proves this and that, bla bla.
@ Peter,
Q; but investigators have returned to the MH17 crash site.
R; Where they will find Mr. Putin’s ID inside a Koran, indicating he slammed a small, Iranian made and Syrian assembled suicide plane into the side of
the buildingMH17.How do you call a knife that cuts on 4 sides?
Now that I’ve read the transcript and watched the speech concurrently, I sympathize with the live translation that others have had to work with all day.
I think Putin’s speech boils down to one essential message to all of the members of the United Nations – use it or lose it.
As others point out, he used the words UN Charter and International Law numerous times. His entire speech was about the ways and means for the world nations to discuss and act together, even with disagreements. He was very clear about the US and its allies breaking the agreed-upon conventions of the world, and about the world getting used to this. He is clearly saying: Don’t get used to it. Those days are over.
If the US wants to break the UN Charter, international law, and the WTO agreements, then the world must challenge and prohibit this. The rogue state is being called back into the community. And this will take time to happen. But Russia and its allies will not relent. The UN is the cage that holds the raging beast of empire, and Putin was clearly drawing those lines today. This is obviously what Russia has decided as the best course to contain the danger. And Russia will put steel into the bars of that cage with military force to guarantee the legality of world agreements – this was unspoken, but it’s apparent in the facts on the ground, e.g in Syria.
Putin as always made a flawless presentation in the manner of a top manager addressing members of the board – dear colleagues, these things are at stake and this is how we can work together to solve problems and go forward. Squarely placed on the table were the actors who stand in the way of those principles. They will either join the community or they will be bypassed by the march of hard facts on the ground.
And the same can be said of the UN. Either it will work to enable cooperation in a multi-polar world – which means it will contain ad restrain the rogue state – or it will have to end. But as Putin said, there is no alternative in this world to the UN. Therefore, for the survival of the UN, there can be no more gray areas, no more rules for the privileged few against the many.
Putin said the same thing at Munich in 2007. He said, Russia needs to be included in the global discussions. Nobody listened then, but they listen today because of Russia’s increasing command of the facts on the ground. This will continue.
@ Grieved,
You have formulated my thoughts for me, better than I ever could.
Yes, there’s an unmistakable smell of change in the autumn air. Why some individuals want an oil tanker to move and change course with the resilience of speedboats, is beyond me – link to youtube.
Turkey just announced that it may ask NATO for assistance against Syria if their rockets hit his territory……So can NATO handle the Ukraine, the ME, Russia and China all at the same time? Russia needs to put the economy on a war footing and take Glazyev’s advice. And get those S-400 over to Iran and Syria. Now. That is what I would be advocating if I had anyone’s ear. And purge the 5th column while they are at it.
RR
The day is quickly coming when Russia is going to have to have a “serious” talk with Turkey over their Syrian aggression. In reality, they need to have that same “serious” talk with NATO as well.Probably it would be best to have the talk with them together. That way you only need to have it once.It should begin something like “if you ever even think about attacking ,we will…..”.
Well it seems (on the RT updates) Hollande was making this point too on the sidelines. They still carry on as if they can do whatever they want outside of the law…..despite everything being said at the UNGA:
18:54 GMT
France will discuss with its partners a proposal by Turkey and Syrian opposition to create a no-fly zone in northern Syria, French President Francois Hollande said on Monday.
“(French Foreign Minister) Laurent Fabius in the coming days will look at what the demarcation would be, how this zone could be secured and what our partners think,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly.
I think Hollande has lost the plot (he is a non-entity anyway) – Syrai is a Soverign country and you cannot just do what you want; listen to Putin; times are a changing – if I was Russia I would insist the Meeting on Ukraine take place in neutral Minsk not Paris!
If anyone should be stripped of the right to veto it should be France – the country who initiated the discussions to the changes of veto at the UNSC in the first place.
One country everyone forgets about which was just before Libya, Syria, Ukraines etc. was Ivory Coast – there France showed it continuing colonial mentality in all its glory………..regime change; lies and imprisoning of the elected leader of a Soverign country to be repalced by a dubious character who would do the French Govt.’s bidding…..and as per usual the blame was put on the rightful leader who dared to want to trade with the Chinese and Russians and break away. The French Govt. couldn’t accept that. Regieme change it was.
Rgds,
Veritas
Precisely! Putin’s the new sheriff in town and he’s going to clean it up. I’ve been advocating just that type of approach–arrest the Outlaw Empire using the laws already on the books, for they are plenty! All that lacks is the will of the planet’s nations to reach for a longed for peace.
Albright weighs in on the Hildabeeste:
Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright on Monday weighed in on Hillary Clinton’s ongoing email server scandal.
Albright, who served under former President Bill Clinton, said she didn’t view Hillary Clinton’s private server use as a security breach.

Now that I’ve had time to re-insert Mr. Putin’s words, via a transcript, into my mind, I have to say, it reminds me of someone else. A person whom I’ve never heard in person or live, but I do have 2 CDs filled with his speeches [well, they’re on an external SSD now – progress, you know :o]. Most of this person’s speeches had a message of hope, of equality and striving for a better world for all. Although I don’t understand the Russian language, and thus might miss intricate nuances in what is actually being said, what Mr. Putin said during his speech at the UN today, echoes the same sentiment as the one that was silenced on November 22nd, 1963.
Finally a sane person, with the power to do something about this lopsided worldview, at the helm. It won’t be easy and it will take a long time, but I can sense the course of this ‘vessel’ is changing.
A true statesman has spoken and it was an honor to listen.
yes, those who have truth inside can easy recognize spoken truth with fewer words.it goes straight to heart.
I love Mr. President Putin…its such a statement that he’s even there, with the way the USA is trying to basically assassinate him and ‘his’….his speech was his presence there.
In diplomatic language President Putin has dealt a Knock-Down to Washington and the West, in general and their (read Washington’s) foreign and economic policy in the Middle-East, Ukraine and as well as many other places of the World. This in fact is nothing new. The interesting thing is that it was explained to the empire in a very calm, diplomatic, non confrontational and factually precise way. And most importantly whit yet again a stretched out hand of friendship to Washington. Which translated in plain language would mean “you screwed up, we know it, the whole world knows it. Lets put our differences aside, and try to resolve this mess that you have created together”
Good job President Putin…
We pray for you and your country !
Well glad to see those foolish Ukranian flag holders were escorted out. Totally inappropriate behaviour for the UN and shouldn’t have been allowed. All orchestrated by the US of course.
http://fortruss.blogspot.ca/2015/09/ukrainian-delegation-escorted-by.html
When will these fools wake up to what they have done to their own country?
Those idiots never wake up even if they end up as LIBYA.
“Regarding al-Assad. I have great respect for my colleagues – both the American President, and the French President – however, as far as I know they are not citizens of the Syrian Republic and therefore should not take part in determining the future of another state’s leadership. This is the Syrians’ business.”
Vladimir Putin, Answers to Journalists
I watched the General Debate of the 70th session (2015) of UN General Assembly live from opening by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon through to the end of Putin’s address.
The order of appearance was:
1. Secretary-General of the United Nations, H.E. Mr. Ban Ki-moon
2. President of the General Assembly (opening), H.E. Mr. Mogens Lykketoft,President of the 70th session of the General Assembly
3. Brazil, H.E. Mrs. Dilma Rousseff, President
4. United States of America, H.E. Mr. Barack Obama, President
5. Poland, H.E. Mr. Andrzej Duda, President
6. China, H.E. Mr. XI Jinping,President
7. Jordan, H.M. Mr. Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, King
8. Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin, President
9. Republic of Korea, H.E. Ms. Park Geun-hye, President
I found 2, 3, 5, & 9 of little interest.
However, I was surprised with the quality and relevance of 1, 4, 6, 7 & 8.
As a package, the same message was delivered to the DC teenagers in the room: get off the punch bowl; sit down and have a mature discussion with others in the room; and no one else on this planet thinks you are exceptional — except perhaps as jerks!
One thing I did not expect, and nor was it delivered, was a “sulfur” speech from Putin.
His measured ‘understatement’ focused on the Rule of Law and the aberrant international behavior of the USA (& friends) which, I believe, should be seen in the wider context of this series of UN speeches and his earlier public interviews – e.g. CBS 60 minutes.
Indeed, imo, this was the 8th round ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ and the message was clear to all (bar the DC inmates perhaps) from the opening Ban Ki-moon through China’s Xi to the King of Jordan (who actually spoke well, imo) and on to Russia’s Putin: stop with the military chest thumping and economic Chicago hustle; sit down; and jaw-jaw-jaw!
As a package these initial opening speeches work well to isolate the US from the international community. Putin is not working alone and it is an indication of modern American ‘cultural’ brainwashing to think that some ‘heroic’ gun slinging “OK Corral” is needed here. Enough already! Far from a 30-second gunfight between Outlaw Cowboys and Lawmen for TV-Op Putin cruised into NY, in the belly of the belly of the Beast, and delivered the ‘KO’ to Obama in the first few minutes: Lawyer to lawyer, after an introduction framing the need for civilised international law rather than the rule of the jungle and “exceptionalism and impunity”, this hit a home run: “Do you realise what you’ve done?” (see around 7:34 at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q13yzl6k6w0 )
Many layers I agree, but this is a legal belly punch from Putin to Obama, imo.
And in earlier pre-UN rounds Putin had already framed the public issue and it hurt the beast.
For example, note the brief official voice over US government denial inserted in the CBS 60 minutes “All eyes on Putin” just after Putin nails the facts on the cathedral door that he [Putin] “knows that for sure …” — “For the record, the U.S. government has denied any involvement in the removal of the Ukrainian leader.” [Unknown voice over] (see http://www.cbsnews.com/news/vladimir-putin-russian-president-60-minutes-charlie-rose/ and video between 7:00-8:37). In the written transcript this sentence is unattributed to either Putin or Charlie Rose. The audio is a very slick insert designed in tone to appear to be part of the interview and almost Charlie Rose(perhaps it is, but it is clearly on attentive listening a later addition) to subliminally blunt the message delivered by Putin to the American audiences. Welcome to Big.Brother@Work!
And again I noticed the high sycophant index at the end of Obama’s rather long and largely content free (or at least bent) “I Believe…” speech. Hand shaking with the panel above, audience applause, etc, etc … although I suspect most of the reaction was nervous response and mainly for the Chicago Showman rather than the DC policy content. And as per usual in this strange White ‘House of Mirrors’ on the Hill currently run by one of Malcolm X’s contemporary “House Negros” everything said about others equally, if not more so, applies to the speaker.
The boy-wonder played his best croon to hypnotise the audience – and to some extent he succeeded, hence the applause etc – but he ultimately failed, imo. The ‘punitive’ tones and finger pointing where there but these were undermined by the slips into immature and irrelevant ‘heart felt exceptionisms’ that can usually be found in certain forms of mental institutions.
A good way to decipher some of this complex ‘message’ is review the presentation video with the sound off and watch the body language. The eyes, the face and the hands all speak another message than the silver tongued voice. Not only is this man’s hair going grey (probably a PR device in itself to garner ‘respect’) but his soul has left the room. He speaks with fork tongue on Monday at the UN then on Tuesday has his morning coffee and weekly ‘Killer Drone List’ chat. Thou Shall Not Murder, Mr Obama!
There is much to decipher in this global Great Game Show – but to conclude what is already a too log post, I noted the omission of certain names in the speeches of both Obama’s and Ban Ban Ki-moon.
Obama chastised Iran but made no mention of the Apartheid State of Israel (forced on the Land of Palestine which I noted was shown very briefly as a UN seat at the commencement of the live video feed) and it’s alleged nuclear weaponry.
Ban Ki-moon made a number of nameless references to his “Middle East Envoy” – at last count this was the war criminal Anthony Charles Lynton Blair (2007 to June 2015) – see http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/may/27/tony-blair-resigns-as-middle-east-peace-envoy-report
I concluded that Putin has done well and roped the dope in DC (lawyer to lawyer) AND effectively work together with others in the UN domain to deliver a ‘back to U&N business as usual’ for the sake of the world community.
“Turmoil” and “Glencore Crashing” are just the Haunted House falling down around the American Empire – and quite clearly Obama and his gang of DC-Wall St-Congressional-Pentagon gangsters are blindsided by their hubris. One Black Swan and they sure risk pivoting into emerging irrelevance and ultimate historical oblivion.
Obama, the DC clown that he is, may well have walked off the UN podium waving his arms about above his head in some private win-lose election victory fantasy as the ‘Smartest Guy in the Room’, but the heads of UN, China, Russia and Jordan together clearly showed the world an ‘American Soul’ slinking off the stage in the darkened shadows of downcast shame and tail between legs: alas, an opportunity missed to admit past error, demonstrate contrition and show remorse.
To sum up Obama’s (and America’s) 21st century UN fate I am reminded of the apocryphal quote on leadership often attributed to Ledru-Rollin: “There go the people. I must follow them, for I am their leader.”
A Best Quote
“President Putin: I know those people who live in Ukraine. We have thousands of contacts with them. We know who and where, when, who exactly met with someone and worked with those who ousted Yanukovych, how they were supported, how much they were paid, how they were trained, where, in which countries, and who those instructors were. We know everything.”
No silly text abbreviation does justice — I, sittin’ here all alone, Laughed Out Loud!
My version: “Well duh, Charlie…, of course we KNOW! Do you think we have no intelligence — general and special? After all, we can see it from our backyard. (We know everything.)”
I have few words ; jealousy, I guess. Never have I seen truth spoken to power like this. I can only imagine what it would be like if my culture was represented by such competence. I especially liked his observations about states’ manipulations of terrorists groups, “they are at least as smart as you. Who is playing whom?” That one must’ve really stung….

Anyone knows if Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich is already in the Russian Federation and has been able to rest?
Honestly, yesterday in the press conference he looked very ill. He should not give marathonian press conferences to ruthless Western journalists after a transcontinental and transoceanic trip with great jetlag and after hearing an insane speech by the runaway president of the host and opponent country .
This man, at his age, could well suffer a collapse, as Koba, and then the same will happen to me.
Last night I could barely sleep….. trés inquiete…. OMG!

Well said! :) Even translation done with lots of time at hand, are transliteration. Add, to that speeches given by Politician are almost hard to decipher, let alone to translate it.
I am a positive person, and like you and juliania a religious person too.
If God allows us to repent, then of course this repentance is allowed for everyone and everybody. I believe The Empire is on a Repentance course. Imagine, Kennedy was a Catholic, and was worried that his religion will become a hindrance to becoming The President of USA. He addressed this issue head-on.
Now, we see The Catholic Pope speaking to Joint Houses of Congress and UN too. Remove the fog of words, and one can easily see what is happening on the ground.
Russia is back on the doorsteps of Israel in Syria, like in times of USSR. Russia will be back in both Egypt and Iraq, just like in times of USSR. Netanyahu cannot do anything about it. He has burned his bridges with everyone and Obama has refused to see him this year. Maybe, he is scheduled for November 8. So, Netanyahu runs to Putin and comes empty handed.
This is all done under the fog ISIS.
Putin speech was very, very positive. And, he addressed directly to Muslims’ Religious Leaders about the dangers of fanaticism. He also offered hoped to those who were suckered into this fanaticism.
Best regards,
Mohamed
And may I ask what you thought of Jordan’s Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein’s UN speech?
Salam Anonymous,
I didn’t watch it but I should and will post my views later.
Best regards,
Mohamed
Salam Mohamed. Yes, I noticed his request to Muslim spiritual leaders to try to persuade misguided youths to step back away from ISIS and other radical movements. I thought it was a beautifully civilized and compassionate thing to say.
He knows that he must kill everyone who is unrepentant, and we know that he will succeed.
But he understands that people are subject to influence, and that people are redeemable. This to me is the most graceful signature of the man, his generosity of spirit, his reluctant ruthlessness until the very last, and then once the die is cast, his uncompromising dedication to his task.
Oh wow.
Just *wow.*
An absolutely fantastic speech. He covered all bases, pulled no punches, cut right through the deceit and lies, challenged the self-appointed ‘masters-of-the-universe’ and their deluded pretensions.
What’s that I hear around the globe?
A sigh.
Of relief.
The one in the driving seat knows where we should all be going, and is doing his damnedest to get us there in one piece.
A massive virtual hug people, for Vladimir Vladimirovitch, best UN leader ever!! :)))
Ps Anyone have a link to a transcript of Xi’s speech? I bet it is full alignment with Putin’s.
Putin’s actions wipe out a hardcore Pentagon foe. He speaks, they fall.

Putin’s Speech: For those of a more mystical mind set, the highlight of the speech was the rhetorical question::
Do you even know what you have done?
This was the closest thing to spiritual rebuke I have ever heard from the mouth of a politician and I am impressed to the max. For many years I wrestled with the difference between retribution and revenge.. It came to having to tell a family member that while what was done to me was past if he were to be arrested or accused of a similar crime, I would testify in court against him. He died of stomach cancer within a year and another generation was spared his predatory behavior. There will be retribution because for those with ears to hear and eyes to see, V. Putin spoke with the force of the spiritual guardians of the planet behind him. It is sad that those who profit from the wars and suffering of the people of the mid East want to have “warnings” so as not to be offended by having to look on the mayhem done by their leaders in their name. And that is tantamount to spiritual suicide.
Your comment..Dear Mr Vladimir Putin,it is a great privilege to read such gracious speech by you,but nevertheless I think it is high time the US should know and know better that inflicting war in other people’s country or drumming of war in other people’s country, countries that are state of sovereignty will not fetch them in anywhere.I believe they know about their unpopularity in the world today because of their wicked and barbaric foreign policy in the world today, approximately fiftyone percent of the world population today are fed-up with the US government foreign policy today. It is clear,if not fiftyone percent of world population today are their enemies arround the glob today, why you cannot make me an orphan by killing my parents and still wants me as a friend today, the UN must know aiding a group of people either against the government or against any sector is not the right way to solve conflict, the role the UN have played in all the conflict in this 21st century clearly shows that the UN it self is partially a terrorist organization, people were not dying like flies during Sadan Husein regime and people were not dying like flies either in Libya during Mohammed Gadafi’s regime.people in Syria were not dying like flies either during Asad regime until the US aid few of the people with guns and bombs to kill write under the norse of the United Nations. And we have the US turning back to tell the whole world that it is a practical democratical country, while the UN called it self a peace loving organization whiles killing the Democratic loving people of Ivorians.so you see it is hypocritical.Lets look at what is happening in Congo,Mali and Zimbabwe the world is watching and they must know every journey that has a beginning definitely has an end, they were not the first people to rule the world.TO BE CONTINUE.Thank you
we hope in our opinion that members of the united nations members revoke the voting of 1948 and reinstate the palestine and bring peace .No Justice No peace thank you
A true world leader and such an excellent speech. A leader who naturally comnands respect and whom yhe world citizenry look up to lead the way forward……
Enough said…there’s nothing left to add to it. Mr. Putin has shown and proven, who the real leader is. Russia is the saviour of this worldand as long as it will stay on this path, the world has a chance to survive.
Can someone give me a small summary for 3 main concerns that Mr.Putin has?
Thank God there is at least one authentic statesman with a cool head and powerful hand who still inhabits the earth and provides a plan to guide us all out of this rapidly encroaching tyranny.
Wow!
After reading each person’s comment , permit me please to say that a lot of comments were from a subjective man’s view and not objective.
I would be the first to say that my knowledge might seem somewhat limited hiwever, pls excuse the fact that it’s past midnight in the part of the world where I am domiciled.
The truth is, men with a military background that has been polished by formal education in politics make the best leaders for times like this.
They are sharp and direct . Full led with tactics. Not all these diplomats with bureaucracy
Obama isn’t. He is more of an arbitrator/negotiator . He can only act in a capacity that he is equipped to.
However, the likes of Putin , have that edge over him .
I would like to say that the person who talked about gadaffi probably never walked the ground of Libya while he was supreme leader. Gadaffi was a pretentious and evil man who preyed on the weakness of his pple.
To the world , he was a model to be emulated . Terrible things were wrought by this man .
Let’s take the Ukraine ish as a study . Are you saying Putin is innocent of these many western crimes you have condemned?
Do you even realize using words like ‘ your side’ is telling of exactly how you see things ? How you have already divided the world in your mind and hence would like to be ghe next world power?
( forgive me for my presumptions , your different arguments have only lead me to that point).
Everyday I pray that the world can be live able again . Some words are quite inciting and seem like the part of the ‘ milk these terrorists suckled on before the started cracking these bones of discord ‘
I greatly enjoyed Julianna’s submissions( I hope I got the right spelling )
And this intellectual discuss is an example of What should encourage research and critical thinking among the youths
WOW is right, some anonymous comes here and makes a state that his knowledge might seem somewhat limited and that is also right. It is just these wrapped mindset that puts all of us into positions of being forced to accept all the wrongs in the world. Because for them what ever pretentious views they have seems to have no other answer that it is better than what is. It all comes with having just a little knowledge that is too dangerous.
When US was bombing ISIS, there own teenage girls would go to marry ISIS terrorists. Now the Russia started bombing ISIS, who wants to marry ISIS?
thank you for your advise speech our president you are most one of them which I have seen in that world
