2) Move her down several notches in terms of priority of sources to check in on…..OR

I am dumbfounded by the Sharpie v. pen issue.
There was always a Sharpie in the voting booth and I always used it. That is, in every election, also when I voted early using an absentee ballot at Town Hall, I was handed a Sharpie to use.
This is the first year I was handed a ballpoint pen (sanitized, of course!!).
I actually thought, “Huh, this is strange. Where is the Sharpie?”
Now it seems Sharpiely-completed ballots are the new hanging chads??

I see only the storing of blank ballots and I think this is a crucial point.
Related to my point that mail-ion voting is an obvious opportunity for one voter to get access to more than one ballot. Those ballots floating through the mails . . . . Dumb dumb dumb.
the rule should clearly be “One person, one BALLOT, one vote.”
Every paper ballot needs to be accounted for. At a polling place if you ruin your ballot somehow you must turn it in to poll watchers and ask for a new one. They DESTROY the ruined ballot.
The number of ballots printed must be aligned with the total number of registered voters. No more, no less. Anyone who “loses” a ballot does not get to vote. If ballots are offered by mail the clear instruction must be:
This is the ONLY ballot you are going to get, so DON’T LOSE IT. Or “lose” it.
It should be possible to subpeona information of orders for print runs of ballots. How many were printed for each jurisdiction? This must be public info. Might be an obvious place to start to get a handle on possible fraud.
In fact, one item of a reform program might be that ballots are handled like paper money: A sort of “ballot mint” is the ONLY entity in the whole country that can order and printed ballots, and only certain heavily monitored and guarded printing houses may print them, and they must have totally secure computers that maintain records of incoming voter rolls for each town/city/district and number of ballots printed for that town/city.

Something about the WH going dark tonight, as Trump is moved in anticipation of a coup attempt. Don’t know why they’d sink to that, as the election appears to be in the bag already. Ballot stuffing is a tried and true old school election strategy and technology. No messy coup attempts required, although it definitely makes for much less compelling reading. I’m beginning to think the Trump side is an organized gaslighting operation to discredit conspiracy theories in general. Who’d a thunk?

Ah yes, history is a messy business and every side in war is nasty and cruel. The key is what happens afterwards–the shame of racism is not that it happened but that the counter revolution of Jim Crow was allowed in the South by a compact between various factions of the American ruling class. “In 2019, the PA legislature passed a law called Act 77 that permitted all voters to cast their ballots by mail. The exact text is 2019 Pa. Leg. Serv. Act 2019-77, which stated: “No absentee ballot under this subsection shall be counted which is received in the office of the county board of elections later than eight o’clock P.M. on the day of the primary or election.”
Act 77 also provided that if this portion of the law was invalidated, that much of the rest of Act 77, including its liberalization of mail-in voting, would also be void. The exact text is: “Sections 1, 2, 3, 3.2, 4, 5, 5.1, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12 of this act are nonseverable. If any provision of this act or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remaining provisions or applications of this act are void.”
To again put this into common English, the Pennsylvania legislature passed a law that said mail-in ballots had to arrive by 8PM on election day to be counted, and then said that if the Court over-ruled that law, the entire law that permitted mail-in ballots was invalid.

In the face of this clear text, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, by a vote of 4 to 3, made the following decrees, summarized here by SCOTUS:
1] Mailed ballots don’t need to be received by a election day. Instead, ballots can be accepted if they are postmarked on or before election day and are received within three days thereafter. Note that this is directly contravenes the text above.
2] A mailed ballot with no postmark, or an illegible postmark, must be regarded as timely if it is received by that same date.

There is a strong likelihood that the State Supreme Court decision violates the Federal Constitution.
“The provisions of the Federal Constitution conferring on state legislatures, not state courts, the authority to make rules governing federal elections would be meaningless if a state court could override the rules adopted by the legislature simply by claiming that a state constitutional provision gave the courts the authority to make whatever rules it thought appropriate for the conduct of a fair election.”
Justice Alito is referring to the following clauses of the US Constitution:
Art. I, §4, cl. 1, which states “The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof.”
Art. II, §1, cl. 2, which states “Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.”
Again, translating this into common English, the US Constitution grants state legislators the exclusive right to prescribe the time, place, and manner of holding elections, and to direct the appointment of the electors.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court didn’t just say “Act 77 is unconstitutional.” It re-wrote Act 77 itself, by judicial fiat, creating new rules for time, place, and manner, of holding elections. In doing so, the State Supreme Court violated the US Federal Constitution.
And that’s the real case here. The US Supreme Court is going to rule that the State Supreme Court violated the US Constitution, the State Supreme Court’s ruling is going to be overturned, and the votes that arrived after 8 PM on election day will be discarded. On that basis, Trump will win Pennsylvania.”

All well and good, but what I’m hearing is they immediately fold late ballots into the count such that they’re indistinguishable from the rest, making it impossible to simply go back and undo them. In that case, the remedy would mean throwing out the lot, thereby disenfranchising all those voters, something no court has been willing to countenance. Turns out that paper votes, the long awaited “solution” to electronic voting machine shenanigans, are every bit as problematic – if not more so. I wouldn’t count on anything at this point, as legal rulings/opinions are – just as they’ve always been – entirely fungible; i.e., in the eye of the beholder.
