Dear friends
I want to share a few updates about the blog shutdown with you:
Archiving the blog
I have been contacted by several people offering to host an archive of the blog. When I told them that I want as many locations hosting my blog as possible, they all agreed, which is extremely kind of them and very good news indeed. Here are a few important details I want to share with you:
- The size of the entire dump file is about 7GB, but it can be further optimized and reduced.
- Herb has very kindly agreed to create one single static file which we will make available for download.
- This file will not require apache2, mysql, php and many addons, no software skills – just web access.
- Once this file is available for download, I will ask anybody able and willing to download and host it to do so. Again, redundancy is the key.
I also hope that somebody can upload that file as a torrent file for easy sharing.
I will keep you posted about our progress on this issue.
Next,
The four Saker books
I have made all my books available for free download here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jp58_kKo2zwaENyNUfWa59YJPP-oE7O5
I will keep them available for download for as long as I can.
These books contain not all, but many of my analyses written over the years and posted on the blog. I encourage you to:
- Download the books and keep them and
- If you can, make them available for download (including as torrents files)
Next,
My Patreon supporters and staying in touch
While I have asked you to cancel your subscriptions, some have not done so, which might be an oversight, and at least one wanted me to keep my account. So I have decided the following: I will keep the Patreon account open and I will make myself available for questions/comments/chats on Patreon until the very last person decides to cancel. That is truly the very least I can do for those still keeping donations coming, irrespective of amount. That is also much easier for me to do than to run a blog and that is something I can do under the current conditions.
Guest authors
- Larry Johnson has very kindly offered to make his blog, http://sonar21.com/, available for the guest authors of the Saker blog.
- Pepe Escobar has also expressed an interest, but that is still a work in progress and I will keep you posted about that. Stay tuned and give us a week or so.
- Goran, from the Macedonian website https://kolozeg.org/ has also kindly invited our guest authors to post their articles.
Again, redundancy and diversity of options is, in my opinion, crucial.
Saker Telegram channel
Since I do not host the Saker Telegram channel (https://t.me/TheSakergroup) I will obviously not shut it down :-) I therefore also encourage all the members of the Saker Community to join that channel as a convenient way to stay in touch. And while I cannot promise to be there on a daily basis, I will drop by from time to time. So this is yet another way for you to stay in touch with each other and with me. And that option won’t cost you a single penny!
Christian Vignettes
These are, obviously, very dear to my heart. And while I do not have the time or energy to do this, if somebody can download them and make them into one PDF file, I would not only be most grateful, but I will make them available for download alongside my books. So, if you can, please send me the final PDF file by email or a link to download.
Your kind messages of support
I cannot even begin to convey to you how touched I am by your support and understanding. And, of course, I do share your sadness. Please forgive me for not having the time and energy to reply to each one of you! But know that your kindness and understanding has deeply touched me. Frankly, over all these years you all were my best friends, and I will miss you all terribly. This is why I am looking for options to stay in touch, albeit informally, with as many of you as possible.
Plans until March 1st
Before the final curtain goes down, I plan to do the following, God willing:
- Record a video Q&A about any topics you want, including non-geostratetic ones like music, past experiences, books, you name it. I will even answer (reasonable) personal questions.
- Write a few comments for some specific subgroups of people I want to share a few parting words with.
- I will still post guest posts until the very last day.
Lastly, my plans for this afternoon is to answer as many emails I can. I apologize for the long time this takes me and for my mostly short replies, that is the best I can do right now.
That about it for right now. I will be back soon.
Love to all
Andrei
I hope you can do podcasts with some of friends of the blog.
Saker, Andrei, thank you for keeping us posted and for making your books and yourself available to your followers! I’m not sure if this is the place to put this but – I’m wondering if you would consider recording a video on Switzerland. In a de-dollarizing world? Some historical context on Davos, WEF, BiS, Toblerone (just kidding)? From a military perspective? What about future alignments as the world goes multipolar and Europe goes however it’s going?
I can only reply on questions sent me me by EMAIL with the following in the subject line “Q&A with Andrei”
Right – now that you say that I think I do remember reading that but had no questions at the time. Thanks for the reply, will follow the correct procedure!
Why are you shutting down the blog ? Are you afraid of being targeted by the USA government ?
If you go back a few days, Andrei explained why he is shutting down the blog. And a few months ago he wrote that tbe time might come when it was time to shut it down.
I might be wrong, but maybe he also was payed a visit by intelligence agents, just as Patrick Armstrong has; with same outcome. Patrick had guts to go out publicly and tell as it is. Nobody knows what’s behind the scenes, when you see how they mobilised so many countries and resources to cancel Russia, can you imagine ease with which they can press small single person questioning narrative publicly? Look what British government did to Graham Phillips, so go figure.
Hi Andrei,
God here,
I’ve changed my mind: It is OK to continue your blog.
Cordially, God.
This site is too valuable to see it shutdown. Hope it stays on with someone who can take it over. Perhaps the comments section takes too much time and energy to manage, so maybe the site could continue without the comment section but only articles. Best Wishes.
Will it be possible to become new patreon supporter, should I wish to do so, after the blog has closed?
I hope the answer is ‘yes’.
Take care,
– Shyaku
yes, see what I wrote about Patreon above
thank you!
This is the only alternative geopolitics website i know about. Before the Saker i was a frequent visitor of Justin Raimondo’s antiwar.com. After he died i stopped visiting his site. Thanks to Nebojsa Malic (writer for antiwar.com and RT.com) i found the Saker.
Saker has an interesting writing style: he does not give a fuck at all (must be typical russian), comical, highly knowledgeable and i love how he uses certain fonts to make reading easier.
I also love the vintage look of the Saker website. I never liked the bling bling look of the modern web. It is a shame Saker is leaving us, i do not know what else i will be doing online except for watching youtube videos, i don’t even watch/read the (MSM or even alternative) news anymore. If stress is the reason for leaving us, you should try tulsi tea, it is the best herb i tried that has helped me with stress; it is an adaptogen, protects you against stress from noise and other triggers, it even prevents you from getting drunk when you are binge drinking.
I wish you all the best, Saker.
dave
thank you Dave!
And yes, I plead “guilty as charged” :-))
Andrei
Dear Andrei: I would love to purchase your 4 books if you have them to sell. I live in Orlando, Florida, so it would not be very expensive to send them. I do not have your email, but I would like to suggest a job opportunity at an English language school where I currently teach. We have a published author who has been teaching there for several years because of the schedule flexibility. It might work for you. Your writings and wisdom have been a tremendous education for me for several years. And after seeing your interview with Michel Hudson, I think you are a fantastic interviewer! I am deeply grateful to have found your blog and your presence on Earth. Many blessings and peace.
you can download them all for free now
PLUS
I just uploaded the Orthodox Vignettes PDF (which I kind friend created for me)

First off all sorry to hear about a shutdown of the blog.
On the other hand as someone that has been and are running a few sites,of know the amount of work and time it consum, so indeed do i respect the decision.
Wayback Machine got this website covered pretty well. So before any shutdown, let at least that update first.
As all cards are on the table now, whereas even my own Norway is at war with Russia, no matter what they claim on tv, and WW3 is well ignited and shall continue to grow geographically at least for the sake of Europe, as they want eat and will get it.
What i feel is missing, is a news roundup. There are great video bloggers presented here.
There are many more, but its scattered around the net.
I would love to see a list of their primary sources and even , if presented without CNN kind of liar style, the ukranian side of this conflict.
I have mot found a decent overview of videobloggers, Analysts and specialists particularly for this war.
Distrowatch.com might serve as inspiration 🤗
Thanks for doing what you have done.
Best regards and respect from Norway
Thank you my friend, I did recommend a few websites and authors in my initial post

Gonzalo Lira recently posted a list on Youtube with the title “2023.02.02 The Alt Media Outlets — A Primer”.
This list is not complete but gives a rather extensive amount of resources.
Happy researching.
Thank you so much for striving for flow of quality information at no cost to end user.
I cannot justify it to myself that your efforts should not have any monetary benefit.
Although a pittance in monthly subscription I will not cancel mine as a token of thanks, and request your readers to continue that support, if you will accept.
You are a proud and courageous man, but courageous don’t have to be left alone.
God Bless
With 500 a day average UAF KIA across the frontline, with only God knowing the daily figures in Bakhmut and Vugledar, maybe 500 each, I say we’re counting down in days, a handful of weeks at most, before Donbass is fully liberated.
Very few UAF armoured vehicle losses these past days, either low on vehicles and/or no fuel with the tactical targeting of fuel depots stepped up. Throw in the loss of a variety of NATO donated missile systems, many at firing point (NATO manned), then the curtain appears to be closing on the belligerents.
Still, it would have been fitting that all of us here crossed the finishing line (bar the political fallout) together.
Having had 5 go-to sites over the past 15 years, for one reason or another, I’m down to zero once The Saker pulls up/down the shutters.
If it wasn’t for a Christmas gift of 8 long-lasting scented candles, I’d be all alone.
You are most definitely NOT alone, even if that sometimes feels that way (I know the feeling, trust me!).
Kind regards
Andrei
Dear Andrei,
I am in super late, I left for a week and I have returned just to read your decision. Well, I cannot say it was unexpected, since situation is getting worse, but I had still the hope it will not precipitate.
Anyway, thank you for your efforts all of these years. I started to follow you since 2014, during the Syrian war: as I told you before, I was quite blind at that time due to the western propaganda, but with the Syrian war I felt that something in the narrative was quite wrong. I started to search the truth, and I found you. Since then, you helped me in realizing many things, not only about geopolitics but also about how our “western” world is working. Something that is difficult to understand for someone young born and raised in the West. What you gave to our community has a value that cannot be repaid by any material item, and I bet that I am not alone in saying this.
So, be careful in saying that your initial mission for opening the blog was a failure: maybe yes, from the point of view of the war, but it is not a thing that a single or few men can settle: these are big historic events, nothing smaller than 476 d.C. But look how many people, all over the world, you helped in understanding, or simply in disclosing the eyes: this is a treasure that will not vanish, and I am definitely sure will help to rebuild our world after this mayhem. We all know that Christ already won the enemy, even if we do not see clearly how, and our efforts seem useless. Do not underestimate the seeds that you planted, they will grow one day, where and when you do not have the minimum suspect that they will. This is how God operates, right?
Ok, there is still one month to write comments, and I hope we will find ways to stay in touch. Meanwhile, thank you again from my deep heart.
I’m sorry to see you go…
I think I got the reasoning behind this. I too had to refrain from what I would have loved doing for various, but mainly personal/family reasons. So, I guess, this was also a reaction, nes-pä?
I and my acquaintances will mis your insight, the cool head analysis and your experience — so I’m sorry for all of us. Where is this “world” going it ain’t a good place when good people aren’t needed there…
So long, and thanks for all the fish / well, the articles and the books in this case!
Cheers Andrei, JaKo
Hi Andrei,
Good judgement call about the torrent file considering that it’s highly likely the underwater / overland cables are going to be cut – it’s only a matter of time and ‘the clock is ticking’. I expect the internet to become regional (best case) instead of global.
What about integrity of the archive among the various copies? If not already suggested, I’d like to propose two safety measures:
A. The dump file should have it’s SHA-256 or SHA-512 fingerprint posted on this and other trusted blogs before Vineyard of the Saker closes. Anyone should be able to verify authenticity by running a SHA hash on it. If it matches, the archive is genuine.
B. Each page of the archive is signed with your OpenPGP public key which ensures that each page is within the archive is authentic. See
https://espenandersen.no/sign-a-web-page-with-pgp/
Before all of that and necessary for the 2nd part, I’d recommend uploading a public key to a pgp keyserver and post the fingerprint on the blog – (ideally signed by the public key of the other community sites).*
https://gnupg.com/
https://www.openpgp.org/software/kleopatra/
https://www.gpg4win.org/about.html
* Don’t see an OpenPGP public key posted anywhere in the contacts section (you’ll absolutely need it and/but it has ramification). I find it not very credible that no public key exists. Perhaps unpublished?
Never mind on the public key – I see that you have it covered.
Well, that sucks.
Good luck with you. Thanks for the good work.
Good luck to you sir. You have done the world a great service with this blog. Wish you the best. This blog helped immensely opening my eyes to the evil behind the scenes.
I have been reading you for a wee while now. Good to read truth.
Never commented, only because I have nothing sensible or relevant to add.
Thank you, most sincerely.
May God Bless you and all your family.
Dear Saker,
Thanks for everything you did within and outside the Saker Blog. I am a bit of a Johnny-come-lately, having found your blog only after the start of the SMO, but it has given me a lot of very worthwhile information and insights.
I hope both your living conditions (after the hurricane) and your health keep on improving and that you will find new ways to bring your valuable contributions to humanity.
With immense gratitude, Numa.
Hello Andrei,
There is always a sadness that accompanies the end of things. The upcoming end of your blog as we have come to know it and visit it on a daily basis is that much more sad. But I understand why you must hand off the baton to others.
Thank you so much for all the hard work that you have put into the Saker blog. More importantly, thank you for being who you are. Along with a few other people on the net you have helped us maintain our sanity in an otherwise crazy world.
I wish you and your loved ones the best of both worlds. Thank you…
Ali
I have asked before, but is there any chance of a 5th Saker book, to bring the collection up to date. It is so much better to read off the page. I have the previous 4. It’s like having the vinyl over the MP3
I first became aware of this blog while searching for and archiving 9/11 material. I want to thank you Andrei for all your work and that of others that have put out the pieces to the puzzle of who is destroying this world. We who struggled to bring the true perpetrators of the 9/11 mass murder to justice failed by no fault of the evidence but due to the total lock hold the criminals enjoy on the minds and pockets of the wider public. Victoria Nuland’s husband, Robert Kagan, was a co-founder with William Krystal of the think tank Project for a New American Century (aka PNAC) in 1997. No coincidence.
Andrei/Saker, Would it be possible somehow to continue the NON MSN NEWS section of the website? I really value it, find it useful, would like it to continue. Perhaps someone you know and trust, ask that person to host it?
Saker,
I think I have only commented here once or twice before. I have been reading here since at least the “Submarine in the desert” article. I have not commented because the blog has been more of a primary source of information for me and I am sorry to say I had little of additional value I could share. I have so much to be grateful for in what I have learned here. I have largely been a failure in trying to get my fellow Pindos here to see the world for what it is, but I have downloaded all of your books and will attempt to get all I can to read them.
Thank you for all you have done and for freeing my small submarine from the bonds of sand.
“The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with weary feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.” Tolkien
Andrei — your generosity gives me hope.
My man, I too have been a reader/follower without ever logging in/registering. Other commenters are correct, such rare intelligent analysis.
I ran my own news services in NW BC, Canada. After exposing much domestically and internationally (China spy’s in BC and Canada’s Colt C7 rifles to Libya rebels via Afghanistan) I was summarily silenced. I was born Canadian so am not so threatened but the power of those who wish to silence real investigative/contextual composers is intense. I was left broke and homeless.
I admire and treasure your web medium. I need good contextual knowledgeable sources simply to make it through my days. My brain seems to require knowledge. You provided that. And I shared with others.
Love Always Wins – like the acronym it is the LAW.
Gods law. Faith in love (ultimate compassion) is all that’s required. That and a bloody good massive army of competent peaceful warriors!
Thanks for the years of education, from you and all your contributors. We remain compatriots in love, having physically met or not, lots of us here.
