Western politicians with a shred of intelligence or soul must shrink into their well earned holes when they hear this man speak.

  2. Cindy on October 28, 2022  ·  at 9:35 pm EST/EDT

If you don’t listen to this, you will not understand how Putin is standing up to the Western elites.
People who don’t know the true state of western corporate invasiveness In developing countries need to listen to this.

“How are things going today? If the west is selling medicines or crop seeds to other countries, it tells them to kill their pharmaceutical industries and selection [of crop seeds].” … “This is not progress, it is enslavement and reducing economies to primitive levels.”

Many people understand political history pretty well, but the real danger is in the Non Governmental Organizations. That’s what’s taken over free enterprise and crushed nations instead of helping them.

So much in this speech to unpack and absorb. Enjoy!

  3. Heartlander on October 28, 2022  ·  at 9:57 pm EST/EDT

    WOW.

I’m only 12 minutes into it so far, and already he has quoted from Solzhenitsyn’s monumental 1978 commencement address at Harvard, and from Dostoevsky’s dark, prophetic novel “Demons.” (Today, it is the Sorosian “open society” demons who are the abominable, homicidal/suicidal nihilists!)

If only we could get all the people who NEED to hear this speech to actually see/hear/read it. Then they would see that Vladimir Putin is the most sane, humane, rational, deeply thinking political leader in the world today.

    • bertdilbert on October 29, 2022  ·  at 2:31 am EST/EDT

The Duran gave a nice recap of the speech that is 20 minutes. Worth watching and easy to digest.

In the Before Times, every American liberal and progressive would have loved this speech and welcomed Putin as a kindred spirit beautifully articulating their own ideals.

As it is, the American left — and most especially the Democratic Party — has sold its soul to the devil. The people who USED to be the champions of free speech, peace, and intercultural dialogue are now a mob of screaming, raving, cancel cultists who accuse anyone interested in dialogue of being a traitor and an evil “insurrectionist” who should be silenced, prosecuted, and locked up. The people who used to rebel against “The Man” now cheer for corrupt plutocrats and fascist dictators — even going so far as to support a regime of literal Nazis in Ukraine. Good is evil, up is down, and Vladimir Putin, who is by nature a man of peace and negotiation, is made out to be the worst thing since Hitler.

Shame on the former progressives. Not only their integrity but even their rational minds are gone now. Alas, that’s what happens when you sell your soul to the devil.

I’ve been a lifelong tender-hearted lefty. I moved abroad to experience a completely different culture at a deep level. If I had stayed in the US, I wonder if I would have followed along with them, if I would have followed their reasoning and feel as deeply offended about alleged “Russian interference” with Queen Hillary’s ascent as they do.
I kind of doubt it–I also noted how quickly the US lefties abandoned their principles on resource conservation in 1980, opting for crass materialism because it had suddenly became trendy. It seems the commitment of the majority to their principles was really very weak then, as it clearly is now.
My late father, whom I respected enormously, maintained his support for Obama despite the latter abandoning his promises. Obama, I believe, was an exception for him. I think he wouldn’t have followed the Democrats into blind Russophobia if he’d lived to see the Maidan coup. He loved Russia as much as I do–that may be one of the reasons I do. Also, he never forgave Lyndon B. Johnson for escalating the Vietnam War.

Very happy to find this with subtitles.
Much better to be able to hear the original.

Putin seems to me to be speaking with greater urgency—actual speed—than I recall seeing (I wiash someone had gotten him some water!).

It sounds as htough he has given up on trying to explain things. Tossing off asides such as “it’s ridiculous.”
That is totally understandable. Those who should be listening will not listen. An atty I spoke to a few days ago—an American citizen who is a descendent of Russian Jews—called Putin a “monster” and all russians monsters (harking back to pogroms) and categorically refused the idea of negotiating with Russia to save Ukraine.

People like him unfortunately provide a lot of impetus in the USA to the normalization of racist hatred of Russians and the continuation of this war. When one points out that negotiating a peace is the only way to save Ukraine and Ukrainians they just mentally blast by it and return to their “hate Putin/Russia” position, which I guess is self-actuating in some way for them.

These “kind” American Jews descended from Eastern European and Russian Jews are a real fifth column of hatred within the US.

    Polish Americans, too.

How liberal RT presents Valdai speech

    – He [Putin] added that Western countries lay claim to all the resources of mankind as they aim “to strengthen their unconditional dominance in the world economy and politics.”
    – On the topic of world trade, Putin said the beneficiaries of this should be the majority, not the super-rich corporations. “Together everyone will gain more than individually,” the president said.

I.e. as if Putin repeats the usual talking points to Abby Martin or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez .

Putin talked a lot about “liberal cancel culture” (in a derogatory way)

  8. rosemerry on October 29, 2022  ·  at 3:09 am EST/EDT

Wonderful! Every word counts, and the commonsense of all these ideas should at least be considered by those who have decided to disagree (mostly through pure hatred and acceptance of the lies of their “free media” and “democratically elected” politicians). 43 minutes of listening and reading, rather than the trite snide comments of the grotesquely inferior media and pundits, could make a difference to anyone even slightly open to fairness.

  9. iR.47 on October 29, 2022  ·  at 3:20 am EST/EDT

Great speech. Very relevant descriptions of methods and forces, also for Western nations.

It’s a joy to listen to Putins speeches, very clear formulation of problems, but also future hope for solutions.

  10. bonbon on October 29, 2022  ·  at 4:39 am EST/EDT

“First of all, it is the decaying creative potential of the West and a desire to restrain and block the free development of other civilizations.”

    Putin explicitly states the problem.

There has been an unremitting war on creativity since Kant, who can’t do it.
Kant is adored all across the transatlantic.
German Poet Heinrich Heine pointed this out in The Romantic movement :
Religion and philosophy in Germany : a fragment : Heine, Heinrich, 1797-1856 : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

    https://archive.org/stream/religionandphilo00heinuoft/religionandphilo00heinuoft_djvu.txt
    …
What a strange contrast did this man’s outward life
present to his destructive, world-annihilating thoughts !
In sooth, had the citizens of Königsberg had the least
presentiment of the full significance of his ideas, they
would have felt a far more awful dread at the presence of
this man than at the sight of an executioner, who can but
kill the body. But the worthy folk saw in him nothing
more than a Professor of Philosophy, and as he passed
at his customary hour, they greeted him in a friendly
manner and set their watches by him.

But though Immanuel Kant, the arch-destroyer in the
realm of thought, far surpassed in terrorism Maximilian
Robespierre, he had many similarities with the latter,
which induce a comparison between the two men.
    …
Kant, the omnipulverizer, arch-destroyer, executioner of creativity, worse terrorist than Robespierre, from Königsberg, Kaliningrad.

Of all press, the Grauniad put up an English vocal, not sure how good :
Russian president Vladimir Putin takes part in Valdai discussion club meeting – watch live
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5UUN6Y-KbY
    Comments there totally unexpected!

The Grauniad, Torygraph, Ecomonist with BBC are British MSM.

    • bonbon on October 29, 2022  ·  at 6:00 am EST/EDT

Something odd – the Grauniad video misses 33 min at the start of 3hrs, and the above video is only 45min.

    • bonbon on October 29, 2022  ·  at 6:40 am EST/EDT

This is so important, another link , English vocal :
      http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/69695

The full 3hr YT link allows auto-generated transcript of the English vocal. 123kb, pretty big.

  12. bonbon on October 29, 2022  ·  at 6:45 am EST/EDT

    WOW :
“Fyodor Dostoyevsky prophetically foretold all this back in the 19th century. One of the characters of his novel Demons, the nihilist Shigalev, described the bright future he imagined in the following way: “Emerging from boundless freedom, I conclude with boundless despotism.” This is what our Western opponents have come to. Another character of the novel, Pyotr Verkhovensky echoes him, talking about the need for universal treason, reporting and spying, and claiming that society does not need talents or greater abilities: “Cicero’s tongue is cut out, Copernicus has his eyes gouged out and Shakespeare is stoned.” This is what our Western opponents are arriving at. What is this if not Western cancel culture? “

    • bonbon on October 29, 2022  ·  at 7:29 am EST/EDT

And to notice the maniac cancel culture wants to cancel Dosteyevsky!
      Because he exposed them!

Better is Dostoyevsky’s Brothers Karamazov, where the Grand Inquisitor story-within-a-story exposes Satan, Torquemada.

  13. jiri on October 29, 2022  ·  at 7:46 am EST/EDT

Great summary of the current situation and outline of the vision of the future.

The US had the option to go down this route in 1945 but didn’t.

Putin’s choice to the West is simple and clear- You can choose to stew in your own juice or you are more than welcome to join us in building a new and better world. We will respect whatever choice you make but your time of dictating to the world is over.

    No going back on this.

  14. bonbon on October 29, 2022  ·  at 8:34 am EST/EDT

Right now all over Russian press :
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation accused the British Navy of involvement in the explosion of “Sevpotok”
    https://radiosputnik.ria.ru/20221029/sevpotok-1827751674.html
    https://test.rtde.tech/europa/152886-russisches-verteidigungsministerium-vermutet-britische-marine/

Gloves are off – a direct accusation. Is this why British Defense Minister Wallace was called suddenly to D.C. recently? Now we have 2 terrorist actions with British action with the Kerch Bridge.

EU anglophiles ‘could tell us but they would have to kill us then’ .

“According to available information, representatives of this unit of the British Navy took part in the planning, support and implementation of a terrorist act in the Baltic Sea on September 26 this year to undermine the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines,” the ministry said.

Very precise terms, not some cloudy ‘involvement’.

  15. Pamela on October 30, 2022  ·  at 10:37 am EST/EDT

This not a man with serious medical problems and near death as the West portrayed a few months ago. He makes very valid points about the West.

  16. apiarian on October 31, 2022  ·  at 2:47 pm EST/EDT

I am currently watching this on my TV which flagged your website and this video as insecure connections and recommended blocking them. Pathetic…

I still harbor a fear in the back of my mind that this is all being orchestrated at some higher level that I’m blind to, but watching Putin speak it’s hard for me not to be rooting for him and his principles. Considering the West has lost all principles(if they ever even had any real ones). Especially when he talks about the decay of Western creative ability. Have witnessed this first hand in many different areas, which included losing my career for pointing out flaws that were harming people. Business as usual over I guess.

Anyway thanks for this link. If I’m getting suckered in to rooting/praying for this man to help change the world then so be it, I fully agree with what he is saying and God bless him.
