This meeting was certainly highly symbolic. Russia confirmed it’s resolve to defend Crimea and the whole of Russia. I think that by now even NATO must have grasped the fact that it’s impossible for Ukraine to invade the peninsula. The land frontier in the north is too short, while a naval invasion is out of the question, as every Ukrainian ship would easily be sunk.
Ukraine, on the other hand, plans to turn Crimea into an island by building a canal in the north at a price of more than 2 billion dollars. I found this hilarious. Kiev forgets that Crimea is now connected by a bridge at Kerch, while building a canal would only impair a potential Ukrainian invasion. Since Kiev has trouble finding money to feed it’s military, I am wondering where it will find more than 2 billion dollars for a canal.
Poroshenko must by now have grasped the fact that Crimea is lost to him, as are the eastern provinces. The mere fact he has not attacked the Donbass is proof that he has no confidence in his military, which is witnessing mass desertion. However, should he out of desperation attack the Donbass, he will get even more massive desertions and a Maidan in reverse,.
Steel is in short supply across North America, looks like the US is hording it and not shipping.
My guess, as steel is a strategic reserve and this is high grade steel I’m talking about, is that the US is preparing for a war.
Mattis and US congress are talking about recognizing Taiwan as independent and redoubled their provocations in the South China Sea. Norway and the Baltics are seeing increased US garrisons, and the US has not >yet< left Syria …
lets all be afraid of the Amerikkkans who are bankrupt
and any direct war would bankrupt them even faster.
Feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar!
Maybe the pindos are hoarding steel because for now they can
pay for it with printer paper dollars, something they wont be able to
do when the dollar looses its reserve status (and that might be already on horizon).
tic-toc…
maybe you should stock up on those GMO prepper-food-rations
Not sure what the point of your post is. My posting was a commentary based on the conversion of several seemingly random events.
Human nature being what it is, do you really think the US deep state will simply let economic leadership pass to China with barely a sniffle? Russia – and China – would be doing themselves a great disservice if they didn’t plan for war. Even Canada maintains an emergency war planning act in case the US invades, and the US has been proven to maintain invasion plans for Canada.
You are, by the way, quite welcome to run out and ‘prep’ if you wish, but I doubt prepping will do any good in case of war.
Only real and ultimate enemy of russia is england.
If russia tells england seriously that unless nato is disbanded you English race will get ten topol nuke attack soon – then see how nato disappears.
Kya: Absolutely. Two world wars were fought for the benefit of the British (and American), or “Anglo-American” elites. It is no accident that they wanted to destroy the Austro-Hungarian empire and then later fund the Nazis prior to WW 2. Europe is supposed to remain a weak colony, forever cut off from Russia. The western elites do not want a strong, Russia-friendly Germany.
If the computers of the Russian military run on Microsoft products and Chinese spyware is baked into the hardware before the equipment leaves the Chinese factory, how safe and secure are Russian state secrets?
