I have a confession to make: I have not been in Argentina since 1986!
And yet, I miss this wonderful country and its wonderful people. Yes, I realize that the Argentina I once knew does not exist anymore. I will especially miss my beloved old commuter trains with leather seats and the old and wonderful, if rather crazy, “collectivos” (buses). So I listen to a lot of Argentinian music. A *lot*: Mercedes Sosa, Astor Piazzolla, Sui Generis, Seru Giran, Los Chalchaleros, Los de Salta, Los Fronterizos, Eduardo Falu, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Ariel Ramirez, Cacho Tirao, Fito Paez and many, many more. I recently came across a recording by two singers which I did not know about, Pedro Aznar and Abel Pintos. In this video, they sing a very traditional and typical Argentinian “zamba” (not to be confused with the Brazilian “samba”!), but they re-visited this beautiful composition (Samba para olvidar composed by Daniel Toro) and re-interpreted in a modern way, yet with also a full respect to the core of what makes a traditional Argentinian zamba.
Check out this beautiful video and let me know what you think!
Kind regards,

A wonderful zamba from a wonderful country.
The present government has enslaved the country in debt, unemployment and poverty.
In October, the people will fire the oligarchy from goverment and hopefully for all times.
Cheers from an Argentinian in France.
Most regrettably, I can’t play the video in the UK.
Hmm, it plays OK in the UK for me, and I usually get a lot of ‘random’ interference.
Sorry about that!
The way to beat that is either a VPN or an open proxy.
I think that there is a Firefox extension which allows you to get the IP from a different country.
Good luck!

Comes across as an out loud expression of what is heartfelt and indeed it is powerful by way of social and political issues. I think it could be improved by including a women with a powerful singing voice.
I hope the Cafe anons do not follow me here … I need a bit of peace.
If you ask for it.
A piece of fine music but a little light and gayish to my taste. Brazil, more soul more emotional. Here two guys on the same guitars about the passion to go back to a place because we miss someone or somewhere of the past.

Superb voices…exceptional classical guitar player. Thanks for sharing. Gail E.
Pedro Aznar was the young, Pastorius styled bass player at Seru Giran.
I love this Zamba to forget. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The world need more of this deeply felt and expessed music.
While I am at it, I also love your Moveable Feast Cafe photographs.
Thank you again
