Today I went to my PO BOX and found not one, but 6 letters, and even a (much needed) bottle of vitamins. Each letter had very kind and encouraging words and, amazingly, 4 of them had no return address or even a sender’s name. I have to admit that for a bitter and often disillusioned person like me, it is deeply moving and, frankly, totally amazing to feel so much kindness and support from people whom I have never met, some of which even want to remain totally anonymous. The outpouring of support I have received in the past few months is very, very humbling and immensely encouraging at the same time. It literally keeps me going on the tough and discouraging days!
How do I thank an anonymous person? How do I even let her/him know that I got her/his letter?

I decided to simply post a photo of what I got today so each person will be able to recognize her/his letter.
Also, since I am thanking people here, and since I am, as usual, totally swamped with work, I decided to also use this opportunity to thank those who have sent recent contributions to this blog via PayPal. They are:
RH, AH, SE, GT, GL, BG, AS, AK, EFL, KH, MD, MB, JM, TL, AW, JL, JP, BZ, SC, CV, IG, DN, MD and HS. To all of you, a huge “thank you!!” for your support and my most sincere apologies for not thanking you in a personal email (something I try really hard to do, but often simply cannot – since I get close to 100 emails per day).
Finally, I have to specially thank one person whose help for this blog has been literally crucial: “H“. Even though “H” told me not to thank him/her each time I get a donation, I feel that I have to mention that without this weekly support it would have been very hard for me to commit as much time as I do to this blog.
To all of you, thank you – you are wonderful!
Also, tomorrow I hope to post a very important update about the future of this blog, and I can already tell you that it is all very good news.
Kind regards and thanks to all,
The Saker
Thank you and your family, Saker.
The Vineyard is a place of great social connection. We read and learn and study events, history, culture, religion and humanity’s desire for Liberty.
We are connected to others thousands of miles apart, yet share as if this was a meeting room next to a great church where people offer wisdom and hope and gift strangers with treasured mementoes handed down within their families trials and triumphs.
It’s a good place of heart and mind, Saker.
You built it! And it is important.
Blessings to you.
a Lot of hard work is playing off and that’s a good thing.
Here’s a little something coming in the near future to bother the rulers.

An idea for those who comment on popular boards: never use “pro-Russian” (not that it’s a bad thing, but gotta break the propaganda narrative), always use ‘anti-fascist’ or better yet: ‘anti-American’ . . .
My thanks to all the contributors.
Thank you. This is this is our window into there vast tragedy that is NOT happening in our name (here in the US).
It’s very hard to do what you do when it is not a full time job and when there’s little to no compensation. You do this exceptionally well. And, don’t worry about typos. Just tell yourself that you’re a citizen journalist and this is the Internet;)
Great resource, the Vineyard.

I see nothing wrong in being “pro-Russian”, nor “anti-American” in 2014. “Anti-fascist” on the other hand makes as much sense as declaring that Mussolini is alive and pulling the strings.
What is it with the effeminate left labeling everyone they oppose as people who haven’t existed for over half a century?
And why give Jews a break? Are they “chosen by God” or something? I mean, look at who has been behind all of this for decades!
Dear Saker,
Thank you, you are an answer to many prayers. I can’t believe how gracious God is to me sometimes, I asked for the truth and man did He deliver! The knowledge I receive here allows me to talk to others who are in the fog of deception. We are all blessed by all you do here. I am eternally grateful. Your heart makes it all the more real. This is a wonderful place and you made it that way. A huge thanks to you!
You help satisfy my insatiable hunger to know the truth, and you feed the love I felt for the brave folk on the You-tube posts standing up to the fascists and their tanks. A day no longer passes without my checking your site. I have no money to send, but I hope a little love helps.
I can’t add a thing to what everyone else has already said, Saker.
You have built a beautiful community, we value it deeply and only wish we could do more.

What is it with people on the right calling the left effeminate? Most of the righties I knew in high school and college were envious as hell at the social successes of all those “effeminate” guys, many of whom, frankly, were total hunks. And frankly, I’ve known more closeted rightwingers than openly gay lefties — and over the years I’ve known a whole lot of both.

Your heartfelt words always bring rays of sunshine into all this darkness.
Putin has made sure his right to attack Ukraine is revoked. So, nobody can blame him for [or accuse him of] unilaterally declaring war on the Ukraine and invading it.
When 75/80% of the Russian population demands he does something Putin can rightfully claim, “The Russian people have given me a mandate to come to the rescue of our fellow brothers and sisters in Novorossiya who are now dying in droves at the hands of the Killers of Kiev.”
Facing the prospect of now having to deal with a much better equipped adversary, the fascists will run back to Yats and his cronies and vow never to return to the East again.
The only thing Putin/Russia has to do is park a 100,000 troops along the border first and if the butchers from the bulge do not stop, attack and annihilate them once and for all.
Yes, I am a laptop commando, I know.

I dig that your a troll, but you don’t seem especially vindictive and since you do seem very confused and, just filled to blow hole with bad information, ill try to help you out here.
1. Fascism is not only alive, and doing much better now, thank you, our “effeminate left” president along with the massive unelected “professional” government in state and the CIA. etc., just installed them in power again, in Ukraine, in the Middle of Europe/Eurasia. Look into it sometime. I’m sure you can find lots of information on some website or another……….. :/
2. This is not an “effeminate left” site, in fact, I’m not even sure what you mean by that. The gay rights pretext is sometimes cynically used by Liberals like Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton, and John McCain and Mitch Mconnel et al. But Liberals are a center-right to right wing oriented group. Not Left.
3. Of course theres nothing wrong with being pro Russian, but it is a common corporate media flag for “the enemy”. Also it cheapens the truth and makes the conflict sound as if this is all just a personal preference, and not a reaction to US/NATO/EU aggression and deception. Also, with all do respect to the other person who suggested , “anti American” I think that’s also a bad idea for the same reasons. Also, it doesn’t really capture the full truth. ANTI FASCIST IS BEST.DEATH TO NAZI PIGS AND MURDERERS!!!!!!~!
The militia in the Donetsk region hit a Ukrainian twin-engine attack plane with a shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missile, but the pilot managed to destroy the missile launcher[, travel 300 km,] and then land the plane with only one engine running, Oleksiy Dmytrashkovsky, a press officer for the antiterrorist operation in the eastern part of Ukraine, told journalists.

As someone who is willing to criticize Saker let me just add that I appreciate this blog. Saker has developed a reputation for solid analysis. He has also attracted those very interesting sitreps from other independent sources. More power to you Saker. Keep up the good work.
Good advice to Putin, don’t you think?

…………
Perhaps you are right
myself I am not against anybody
but I am a Croat and Rosophile
Right, so if you think of it all as propaganda labels, ‘anti-fascist’ is probably closest to the truth, ‘pro-Russian’ is what the western media uses for ‘bad’ right now, but ‘anti-American’ would be a nice way of making certain things clear – that America is the enemy. I think the Novorossian resistance would agree. Either way, it would be good to combat the use of ‘pro-Russian’ in comments since it is being used in kind of a racist way and every time you see it in print, it delegitimizes the resistance and disinforms the reader. So I refuse to use it.
You just thanked someone for sending you vitamins. Be careful, not everyone who sends you something to ingest will be your friend.

===============================
Speaking of confusion (generated by believing you can learn history watching hollywood movies or reading mainstream propaganda), I have some news for you.
What Mussolini meant was “the merger of State and corporate power” under the control of the State.
In fact, Mussolini did nationalize the banks in Italy.
In America today you have “the merger of State and corporate power” under the control of the corporations.
In fact, banks did privatize the State in America.
I would also suggest using left and right just as spacial directions, because they are completely useless as modern political categories.
Oh, it should also pointed out that neither fascism and national socialism, with all their many faults and atrocities (exceeded only by the Bolseviks and Maoists), never took orders from foreign powers, opposite to their modern caricatures.
Thank you, Saker, for taking the time to acknowledge the notes and gifts. It means a lot to me.
Regarding terminology, which is often inadequate in the Ukraine conflict, I want to clarify the usage of the term “fascist”.

I thought the same thing about the term “Nazi”, which is often used to describe the Kiev government, until I read an article about the Banderites. (Sorry, I don’t have the link right now, but you can Google this term.) I discovered these Right Sector or “Banderite” groups in Ukraine’s West really are the children and grand-children of a rogue band of Nazis who defied Russia in WWII and fought on the side of Hitler. They were noted for their fierce brutality, even compared to the German Nazis. These same people are now carrying out the will of Poroshenko. So when posters say “anti-fascist” or “anti-Nazi”, they are speaking literally, not figuratively.
I was shocked when I learned this. It means Novorossiyans aren’t just fighting for their freedom, they are fighting for their lives.

Good point. To be sure there was no ambiguity, the contributor had these vitamins sent directly from Swanson Online Vitamins.
Thanks again, Saker :-)
Theodore Svedberg,
“As someone who is willing to criticize Saker”
Criticism connotes a pronouncement from on high. Now maybe that’s what you mean but “disagreeing with” one’s blog host is a bit more mannerly, don’t you think? And I think most of us have, at one point or another; you’re hardly unique. He actually encourages the open exchange of ideas, rather than forcing people to swallow his pronouncements whole. Kind of the opposite of a rabbi or guru, you know?
That’s what’s so wonderful about this place: the only Thought Patrol is furnished by commenters…
