Time – Forward! #253
We often hear that Russia spends too much money for the defense and that we should give this money away to poor people and pensioners. Let’s see if this statement is true.
But before, a few news for the past week.
[0:40] In the Aldan district of Yakutia, started operations a mining and processing plant “Rybinovy,” creating 400 new jobs. The launch of the gold recovery plant is the second stage of implementation of investment project for construction of the “Ryabinovy.” It’s expected output is 5,000 tons of gold annually. Total investment in the project about 6.5 billion rubles.
“RN-Uvatneftegaz”, a subsidiary of NK “Rosneft” has put into commercial operation North Tyamkinskoye oil field with over 13 million tons of oil in reserve.
[0:57] In Novgorod, an automotive supplier Schlemmer Group “Schlemmer Russland” opened a new production plant for domestic and foreign auto industry.
[1:07] In Kaliningrad region started operating a large fodder manufacture. Total investment into this project exceeded 1 billion rubles.
[1:15] In Tula region, a new dairy farm with 5,500 cows.
[1:25} In Lipetsk, started operating LZTK LLC, a subsidiary company of KGP GREENHOUSES (the Netherlands) that constructs greenhouses throughout the world and also supplies all necessary accessories for heating, screening, shading, water and substrate technologies, automation, electrical engineering, sorting machines and greenhouse materials.
Total investments, RUB: 2154 millions
It expected to satisfy 50% of the Russian market.
[1:35} In Ryazan, a manufacturer of the plastic drainage system TechnoNIKOL has started production line of pipes for different drainage systems. The production lines has been equipped by the global industry leaders — ENGEL (Austria) and Theysohn (Germany). The most important piece of equipment, mold, is custom made. Modern equipment and use of high quality raw materials from domestic and foreign manufacturers provides the highest international standards quality products. It is noteworthy that TECHNONICOL will gradually increase the share of Russian raw materials in the composition of the multicomponent PVC granules, thereby reducing the dependence on foreign suppliers and reducing the cost of raw product costs without sacrificing quality. Total investment about 1.5 billion rubles.
[1:40] In Vladivostok, the Russian Navy received the newest corvette “Sovershennyy,“ a corvette in the Steregushchy-class.
It’s the first large ship built by the submarine manufacturer the Amur Shipbuilding plant in the last 50 years.
New materials used to built this ship significantly reduce its “visibility” for a potential adversary.
[2:30} A new aerial reconnaissance complex with unmanned aerial vehicles “Orion” was presented at the MAKS-2017. This is the first Russian drone in this class. The airframe is almost completely made of composite materials that can carry a payload up to 200 kg and stay in the air for up to 24 hours. It can be used for both military and civilian purposes, e.g., for monitoring of the forests.
In our 248th issue we talked about the fascinating history of Il-2 that was shot down by the Nazis in 1943 and sank to the bottom of the lake. Our experts salvaged it and restored to airworthiness, promising that from now on, the veteran will only fly in the peaceful sky at air shows. They kept their word. We were convinced personally seeing the flight of the restored Il-2 at MAKS-2017. The audience met the legendary attack aircraft with great warmth, and it has become the centerpiece of the exhibition. So, work on its restoration was not done for vain and the “flying tank” still works hard for the good of the Fatherland.
Space Time
Story from our last issue about the record launch of a Russian rocket with 73 satellites got many of our viewers interested, that’s why we should describe this event in more details. The main object delivered to space was a Russian spacecraft, capable of remote sensing of the Earth, named the Canopus-B-IR satellite, an earth observation satellite for monitoring forest fires. Two similar Russian satellites and one Belarusian have been operating on the orbit for several years, now. This new satellite features additional and more sophisticated cameras. It will track the outbreaks of forest fires down to an area of 25 square meters, covering over one flight strip with a width of 2 kilometers. Along with the “Canopus,” a record number of satellites 73 for one start were delivered. 48 of them is owned by an American company “Planet”, which already has a group of nano-satellites in orbit. The company aims to create a service similar to “Google Maps”, which will update its pictures daily.
Interestingly, this launch delivered to the orbit a satellites of a private Russian company “Dauria aerospace,” one of the new providers of nano- and small-class satellites.
This company sets itself the same goal as the American “Planet”, but chose a different technological platform. Our guys were able to build two complete spacecraft that had already passed all tests on the ground and now went for the most important test in space. We are seeing a fascinating experiment, the results of which will make it clear whether the Russian private company is capable to create a major space project and to establish constructive cooperation with the “Roscosmos”. While things are going positively, it’s still a work in progress.
In addition, this record takeoff delivered to the orbit another interesting project, an amateur satellite “Mayak” “lighthouse.”
In itself it’s quite simple – the battery pack, electronics and mechanisms unfold in space a kind of sail, which reflects light and is visible from Earth as a bright star. Special thanks to a mobile app, anyone can find the sky is our “Mayak” “lighthouse” and see it with their own eyes. However, it will not last on the orbit for too long, and in a month it will gradually descend, but by the time it will be able to inspire thousands of Russian boys for the study of science. This project, by the way, was crowdfunded.
Victory Time
Russia’s sports team “KAMAZ-master” won the rally “the Silk Way” in China. Our crews routinely occupy an entire podium. The closest rival, the French team left the race after breaking down. The second Czech team came 20 minutes behind our athletes. This year the competition was not easy, as almost all the way from Moscow to China it went under torrential rain, but our crews confirmed the highest class of technology and personal skill.
The Silk Way in Kazakhstan – photo gallery
By the looks of it, good times had by all.
Another victory brought to the country by our boys at the international contest of welders in Shanghai. The contest consisted only of the practical part. To welding samples was given a limited time, after which the results passed the visual, measuring and radiographic control. 248 welders from different countries of the world competed, and the Russian team was the best. A welder from “Sevmash” Eugene Hovoin was in the top five best welders in the world. He could do it faster, but all the instruction manual of welding equipment and technology the map were written in Chinese, which took additional time for translation.
Flights Assessment
Quite popular is an opinion that Russia today spends fabulous amount of money on armaments instead using this money to raise pensions and salaries, to build schools and hospitals. There are even proposals to abandon defense funding altogether.
However, you need to understand a few important points.
1 – our military-industrial complex is not only costs but also revenues. Today the portfolio of orders amounts to $45 billion dollars. This is revenue for our weapons, which will go to the budget and will be spent for different purposes, including on social needs. The other day it became known about a new contract for the supply of Russian T-90S tanks for the Iraqi army by approximately $1 billion. This is in addition to the contract for the supply of 73 to the same country. This means that our “Uralvagonzavod” will be loaded with work, workers will receive salaries and tax payments will go to the budgets. It is noteworthy, incidentally, that the Iraqis chose our tanks, not the American “Abrams”, which clearly contributed to the successful application of the T-90 in Syria and Iraq. But in addition to the tanks we supply the a variety of weapons abroad – from small arms to submarines.
The second aspect – it’s not only exports, but also that an extensive plans of rearmament, work load and orders for the large number of Russian enterprises. The entire regions depends on the defense manufacturers. And it is wonderful that such important manufacturers are operating and not being cut for scrap metal like it was done in the 90s. For example, the giant shipbuilding plant “Sevmash” is looking for more specialists in blue-color technical professionals. Last year they hired over 400 just welders. The plant is now ready to pay workers from other regions to move, for housing and food, and even to pay moving expenses.
And finally, the third aspect is science. All advanced technologies are being born in military or space laboratories and only then moved to be used for the peaceful life. That is why the US spends so much on defense, and not because they are afraid of the Russians or Chinese. System GPS or GLONASS would not have appeared without the military developments, there wouldn’t be many materials, microwave ovens, synthetic motor oil, and even jet aircraft engines. And much more.
Thus it is necessary to admit that Russia still needs to learn to produce competitive products for civilian use. If our weapon has worldwide recognition, the civil goods until now haven’t received this status. But it’s a matter of time. A large-scale program of conversion of defense enterprises that has been launched, i.e. reorientation of their output for civilian use. This means that maybe soon we will be proud of not only our tanks, but also mobile phones, computers and so on. If the topic interests you, we’ll have more to say about such plans in our next releases. And in the meantime to summarize – spending on defense today are an important part of our economy and if you cut them, it will simply return us to the situation of the 90s with the poverty and mass strikes, not to mention reducing the combat capability of our armed forces, that many of our enemies would really like.
Time of people
This amazing woman is Svetlana Kapanina, she is well known to all interested in aviation, but, unfortunately, little known to the general public. We would need to make an entire program just to recite all her titles and awards. Multiple champion of the USSR, Russia, Europe and the world, awarded with the Order of Courage, medal of merits before Fatherland of II degree and many others. You can find many of her fan clubs in foreign social networks. but she’s a great Russian woman, whose courage is envied by many men.

NEWS IN BRIEF
On 30 July in Saint-Petersburg and Kronshtadt, warships and naval aviation of several fleets, including the Pacific, Northern, Baltic and the Black Sea will take part in the naval parade. The largest ships of the Russian Navy of Russia will participate in the parade in the sea outside of Kronstadt: they can’t go into the Neva river due to their technical parameters. In St. Petersburg will be shown a “small fleet” in the form of a frigate “Admiral Makarov” with a length of 125 meters, the Corvette “Resistant”, the submarine “Dmitrov” and other ships of the naval fleet of Russia.

During the MAKS 2017, aviation experts were stunned by the incredible aerobic performance of the SU-35S.
The most complicated figures of aerobatics
“At 1:35, the Su-35 begins what is called the “Cobra Turn,” which is described as “where the aircraft performs the pull-up, but instead of returning to level flight applies rudder or thrust vectoring and turns downward”.”
“At the 1:56 mark, the pilot appears begin the famous “Pugachev’s Cobra” maneuver, in which he points the nose straight up before returning the plane to level flight. The video then cuts to another point in the show.”
“At the 3:25 mark the pilot starts what Russian pilots call “Frolov Chakra,” or “Kulbit” (“Somersault”), in which a fighter does an extremely tight turn, sometimes no wider than the plane itself. Having bled off so much energy, the test pilot then masterfully plays his plane like a fiddle, using his engines and control surfaces to put the plane into a slow horizontal spin. The pilot does it a second time at the 6:29 mark.”
“The 5:25 mark shows off possibly the most spectacular move of all. The pilot suddenly jerks the nose of the Su-35 straight up and then the plane flips around in midair while momentum still carries it forward. The plane then pirouettes into a spiralling dive, which the pilot uses to regain energy.”
“The Su-35 is this maneuverable in large part due to powerful AL-41F1S engines, which together generate 63,800 pounds of thrust at maximum power, each of which the pilot can then vector in a different directions.”
This Su-35 Flight Demo Will Make Your Head Explode
You might as well forget everything you know about how planes fly.
“Russia’s Su-35 fighter jet performed yesterday at a Russian airshow and the results will leave you scrambling to pick your jaw up off the ground. The famously maneuverable fighter displayed stunts that seem designed by someone with no knowledge of aerodynamic rules at all, but the fighter pulled them off anyways.”

ZeroHedge: “It was reported on July 20 that Russia and Iraq have struck a deal on supplying a large batch of T-90 tanks. Vladimir Kozhin, the Russian president’s aide for military technical cooperation, confirmed the agreement but declined to provide details, saying only «the number of tanks is substantial». Russian military analyst Ruslan Pukhov told Russian newspaper Izvestia that the deal might cover deliveries of several hundred T-90 tanks, and that the contract may exceed $1 billion.”
“The T-90 is among the best-selling tanks in the world. Hundreds of vehicles have been sold to India, Algeria, Azerbaijan and other countries. A small number of tanks has been delivered to Syria to reinforce the military’s capabilities of combatting Islamic State (IS). Kuwait, Vietnam and Egypt are considering the option of purchasing T-90s.”
“Known for its firepower, enhanced protection and mobility, the T-90 features a smoothbore 2A46M 125mm main gun that can fire both armor-piercing shells and anti-tank missiles and the 1A45T fire-control system. Standard protective measures include sophisticated armor, ensuring all-round protection of the crew and critical systems, including Kontakt-5 explosive reactive armor and active infrared jammers to defend the T-90 from inbound rocket-propelled grenades, anti-tank missiles and other projectiles.”
For the past 12 months, the official gross income from all the sales of goods and services in the country exceeded the official gross total for all paid wages and pensions by 10 trillion rubles. This is considering that an entire annual budget is 16 trillion rubles.
Saving deposits for private persons grew by 4.2% and have reached 24.2 trillion rubles.
And still, in 2017 Russians spent to purchase the Federal bonds more than they saved.
MAKS-2017 airshow yields contracts to over $6bln – Russian ministry of industry and trade

Hey, great to see Svetlana Kapanina featured. This short video is my favourite about her:
Svetlana Kapanina the best female pilot of all times
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=61j4X1DbRXY
The intro is a listing of her achievements at the time (2005 or so). She continued to win competitions since. The aircraft shown are Su-26 & 31, themselves 2 of the best aerobatics monoplanes in existence.
She is still active:
Svetlana Kapanina – Su-31 – 2015 World Aerobatic Championship
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=L-I2xcpWzEM
I believe the aircraft she is using is a Su-26, not 31. The 26 has better manueverability in the horizontal, while the 31 is better in the vertical, due to a more powerful engine. Sukhoi later modified the 26 to use the 31 engine to get the best of both designs. SK, I have read, prefers to use the modified Su-26 with the Su-31 engine. This is the aircraft I believe she is using in this 2nd video.
Amazing.
Better than anything hollyweird cgi can produce.
Really appreciate these updates. Full of interesting information that improves my knowledge
Thanks
“Quite popular is an opinion that Russia today spends fabulous amount of money on armaments instead using this money to raise pensions and salaries, to build schools and hospitals…”
Even the premise is wildly wrong. The total Russian defence budget is less than one-tenth of the USA’s, and actually less than the USA spends on its 17 intelligence agencies.
Please provide the source of your quote. It is stated over and over for other nations including USA. They rotated 1 million soldiers in Vietnam, dropped 1 billion bombs, killed about 3 million Vietnamese, lost more than 50000 US soldiers, spent 1 Trillion dollars and lost the war. Because of insufficient funds tens of millions Americans doesn’t have an adequate health care coverage. Obama health care is a disaster and the new administration refuses to own it. Unless they have a strong insurance, the rest are treated in third world condition, because of insufficient funds.

“The box of prescription drugs had been forgotten in a back closet of a retail pharmacy for so long that some of the pills predated the 1969 moon landing. Most were 30 to 40 years past their expiration dates — possibly toxic, probably worthless.
But to Lee Cantrell, who helps run the California Poison Control System, the cache was an opportunity to answer an enduring question about the actual shelf life of drugs: Could these drugs from the bell-bottom era still be potent?
Cantrell called Roy Gerona, a University of California, San Francisco, researcher who specializes in analyzing chemicals. Gerona had grown up in the Philippines and had seen people recover from sickness by taking expired drugs with no apparent ill effects.
“This was very cool,” Gerona says. “Who gets the chance of analyzing drugs that have been in storage for more than 30 years?”
The age of the drugs might have been bizarre, but the question the researchers wanted to answer wasn’t. Pharmacies across the country — in major medical centers and in neighborhood strip malls — routinely toss out tons of scarce and potentially valuable prescription drugs when they hit their expiration dates.”

@ Alex
“Pharmacies across the country — in major medical centers and in neighborhood strip malls — routinely toss out tons of scarce and potentially valuable prescription drugs when they hit their expiration dates.”
This is the only way to keep the Drugs price very High. Pharmacies are retail store of the Big Pharma, and big Pharma sells it for a price hundred times higher than the production cost. So they can absorb this money lost, but how many patients die because they cannot afford the price.
Bribery, Fraud and Corruption Charges Against Big Pharma
“Furthermore, Erica Kelton points out that in 2009 Pfizer paid $2.3 billion “for improper and illegal marketing of certain prescription drugs in the U.S.” Seemingly, Big Pharma is not prosecutable for crimes—only fines—which appear to be a ‘cash cow’ for the U.S. Treasury.”
http://www.activistpost.com/2014/05/bribery-fraud-and-corruption-charges.html
“While imatinib’s success in prolonging life is measured in decades versus earlier cancer drugs that only added a few months to survival, it is very costly. Its price rose from ~$30,000/year in 2001 to $76,000 in 2015. It only costs $200 to manufacture a year’s supply of this miracle drug.
One 400-milligram imatinib pill a day is required for effective treatment. That amounts to $208 per pill/day (costs 46-cents to manufacture). Imatinib generated $4.7 billion in sales annually. It is estimated there are ~60,000 patients who take ematinib daily.
Now that the patent on imatinib has expired, the drug company that owns the patent on imatinib bought off a competitor and delayed the entry of a generic version that would save a half billion dollars or more.

Dear Anonymous, July 24, 5:56pm
Thank you for those links, they were pure gold.
I urge other readers to look up those links: I never knew that resveratrol might be a powerful wide spectrum anti cancer agent that potentially exceeds therapeutic pharmaceutical anti-cancer drugs in its direct ability to destroy leukemia cells (as are cancerous brain cells and other cancerous cells) – even when taken orally. I knew about its reputation in protecting against cardiovascular diseases, but the anticancer effects are new to me.
I have become immune to the corruption in the US “health care” system, or it’s equally corrupt, UK, German & Swiss Pharmaceutical “Industries”. However, even I was taken aback learning that the sloth or incompetence or corruption (or all of the aforementioned) of the US Pharma industry were responsible for almost $600Billion dollars a year in drugs being deliberately (or neglectfuly) wasted and dumped into the biosphere (eventually entering the water table & rivers and lakes). Such a sick mindset is guaranteed to lead to system failure.
Have bookmarked those links, thank you again.
Budget doesn’t tell it all.
The new 5th generation stealth F35 is insanely expensive, and didn’t make any impression at all at the Paris air show. It made at least an impression that the plane was very noisy, with a low manoeuvrability.
Talking about ‘stealth’… In my student years I worked a few months for a research institute, specialized in coatings and paint. Many projects were for Defence. They showed me a military vehicle, completely coated and painted that was infrared absorbing, thereby giving it ‘stealth’. I asked them how they were going to paint the hot exhaust fumes. They looked at me in amazement, nobody had thought about that.
Widely the F22 Raptor is seen as the best plane of the USAF. Also ‘stealth’. However, the plane is a ‘hangar queen’, it needs up to 60 hours of maintenance per hour operation. Thereby, its stealth doesn’t work when confronted with rain or sand.

Re the F-35 at Paris air show:

You are being to generous in your assessment: other than the above, we should mention that the F-35 is a stunningly ugly aircraft that looks like a flying turd with stubby wings or a pregnant yak with wings (even the amateurish Chinese knock-off/Mockup is slightly less ungainly looking, though equally ridiculous as the original).
Compare that to the beauty of the PAK-FA or the Su-30MKI/Su-30SM or the Su-35 and you’re looking at a comparison analogous to comparing a Swan (PAK-FA) to a fat Turkey (F-35).
While Russia steadily improves their military, israel’s enforcer colony continues to wallow in corruption and incompetence.
US’ Newest Aircraft Carrier Is 32 Months Late and Won’t Be Ready for Four Years
https://sputniknews.com/military/201707241055826134-uss-gerald-ford-late/
“President Donald Trump commissioned the US Navy’s newest aircraft carrier at the weekend but it will not be ready for service for another four years. The USS Gerald R. Ford was delivered almost three years behind schedule and needs large amounts of work before it is even capable of full sea trials.
It has so far cost US$12.9 billion — US$2.4 billion more than originally estimated — and the General Audit Office has estimated another US$780 million needs to be spent on it before it is ready for service.
The Pentagon plans to build two more carriers in the same Ford-class, the USS John F. Kennedy and the USS Enterprise, at a total cost of $43 billion.
The Government Accountability Office said the USS Gerald R. Ford still had a “significant amount of outstanding construction, tests and sea trials.”
It says US$780 million will have to spent on correcting deficiencies, conducting shock tests and fitting out the ship, which was built by Northrup Grumman’s shipbuilding subsidiary Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc, at its Newport News yard in Virginia.
The Gerald R. Ford has “yet to complete its navigation certification and cybersecurity inspection,” and is not in a state where planes can take off or land on it either.
In June, it was reported the carrier cannot launch fighters because of software issues with the new electromagnetic catapult system.”
Nearly $14 billion for the Ford, another $43 billion for the next 2. The total Russian current military budget is less than $70 billion.
But at least the Ford is aptly named. ;-)
I was very Impressed seeing the aircraft component factory in one of the videos. No doubt Russia has the brain power to advance its economy if given sufficient time.
Your book caught my eye as I finished reading the article which then reminded me of this video.

A clear war crime but you can be sure nothing serious will happen to the shooter. Israel is a Spiritually Dead State.
I saw the video. Apparently the man had attacked an IDF soldier. I’m not going to defend this (it’s a plain execution, out in the open).
However, some side thoughs.
If someone in the USA has shot a police officer, what do you think will happen when his colleagues have chased the man down?
Even in France they won’t even bother to make an arrest. The general tactic is to hunt the man down, surround his hiding, install 1 or 2 snipers and simply shoot him. That’s more covertly, but essentially the same.
In the US, the police have been heavily militarized since the 1980s and are trained as an occupying force. Interestingly, Israel has been frequently enlisted for training in these methods. More than 1000 US citizens are killed by police every year. In large part, this is due to their training. Police are trained to react to kill-or-be-killed situations which require a response within seconds. The overwhelming majority of police will never face such a situation even once in their entire careers. If these scenarios were at all relevant police would be shot at a similar rate to civilians. In fact, about 50 police are killed by shooting every year.
Regarding your thought experiment. What would happen would depend on many factors. Particularly on the demographic group of the shooter. The same would hold for Israel, if the attacker is a Jew or an Arab. However, in the US it’s not (yet) accepted that Police are allowed to shoot children throwing stones as it is in Israel.
“In the US, the police have been heavily militarized since the 1980s and are trained as an occupying force. Interestingly, Israel has been frequently enlisted for training in these methods.”
No one is going to convince me that there is anything positive behind this. So we do not have people smart enough to police our cities ? My suspicion is that the Israelis are using this to get their presence inside our police system, “Will come and visit you guys in LA soon”. The Israeli students selling posters comes to my mind,
“For almost two years, hundreds of young Israelis falsely claiming to be art students haunted federal offices — in particular, the DEA.
No one knows why — and no one seems to want to find out.
May 7, 2002 | In January 2001, the security branch of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency began to receive a number of peculiar reports from DEA field offices across the country. According to the reports, young Israelis claiming to be art students and offering artwork for sale had been attempting to penetrate DEA offices for over a year. The Israelis had also attempted to penetrate the offices of other law enforcement and Department of Defense agencies. Strangest of all, the “students” had visited the homes of numerous DEA officers and other senior federal officials.
As a pattern slowly emerged, the DEA appeared to have been targeted in what it called an “organized intelligence gathering activity.” But to what end, and for whom, no one knew. “
Rob, there are rules of conduct in all militaries. They are there for a reason and the reasons are good ones. Experience.
Not To Lose control is the main one but I suspect the unwritten one is so as to not create monsters. That guy that shot the handcuffed Palestinian will have that act ingrained in his head, Unless he is a psychopath. Why do you suppose they have those long drawn out “ceremonies” when executing someone? So that the psychological energy of the “act” does not fall on just one person. Because later the people involved in the killing Will Have To Live and Sleep with what they did. Killing is Killing. The “Mind” is a very powerful thing which can destroy any of us if abused.
Just look at an episode of – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1114705/
I once saw an excellent documentary about what is being hidden by Israel as to their soldiers mental state after serving in the IDF. Even retired high officers were talking on camera. I managed to find a clip out of the documentary but not the whole thing. To make things worst there is no title so I can not give it to you. They are hiding a big problem there as they are in the US. So no, no excuse. Let the system serve the justices because otherwise a bigger problem will be created.

On Killing: The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill in War and Society by Dave Grossman
But I thought the Russian people are being repressed by a brutal dictator, and war criminal Putin. And that Russia is a corrupt country full of gangsters and pimps.
I thought the Russian economy was all but collapsed by sanctions.
How can this be, you mean Ive been lied to ? !
Haha, this is very much how I feel as well, bored muslim. And it’s further underlined by my full endorsement of the Western supremacist notion that Russians are utterly incapable of technological innovation, relying on apeing and stealing everything from the great and glorious West.
Have we been lied to? God forbid!
The recent AirShow sold nearly $7 Billion Dollars worth of planes and equipment. The world knows Russian quality. And their production costs are additional values of low cost for purchaser.
“MAX-2017 gave aircraft manufacturers a large reserve for: contracts and agreements for the supply of Russian aircraft worth about 400 billion rubles. It is important that MAX turns into a business area, participation in which is not only a question of prestige, but also an effective tool for establishing partner relations. For three days negotiations were carried out by the MatchMaking system with the participation of mainly small and medium-sized companies”, – said the Minister of industry and trade of Russia Denis Manturov.

No wonder the US government is trying to link them to hacking – its all about commerce and competition.
This is why the whole Ukraine fiasco, when the Russian Empire allowed one of its most productive regions to slip away, along with its population, was so disappointing- and a prime indiction of the cost of doing business with the Empire of the West.
Putin’s predecessors ‘sold’ much of Russia’s birthright to the West for promises of favoured trading status with the EU and USA. And once Russia weakened itself, the Deep State Demons struck hard. Ukraine was supposed to be the trading buffer zone between Russia and the EU, with one foot in both Empires. Then the West stole Ukraine, and Russia learned a very nasty but very useful lesson.
But it gets worse. Germany is currently holding Russia’s feet to the fire over a joint turbine manufacturing operation in Russia properly- that provided power turbines to Crimea. Germany claims if Russia takes Germany money or works with Germany companies ***in Russia***, German law overrides Russian law. And Putin still forces Russia to abide by European court judgements over such issues.
Trump is one second away from banning Taiwan, China and Europe from all computer trade with Russia in the name of ‘sanctions’. Most Chinese computer companies use US and EU chip patents. America claims the right to tell China who it can do business with when Chinese goods contain any Western IP.
Russia makes some of its own chips, but the tech is woefully outdated. And Russian coders and designers, like those across the planet, want to work on the best- ARM/x86 CPUs and GPUs from AMD and Nvidia. If a total blockade is placed on high-tech trade with Russia, as seems increasingly likely, widespread ‘sanction busting’ will happen- but the US and EU will issue arrest warrants for any Russia who uses non-Russian ‘banned’ tech in their corporate work- eliminating the ability of Russians to travel to most of the planet.
This is the problem of Putin not using his ‘big stick’ effectively. Bullying becomes the no.1 tactic against Russia. The bullies learn to ***only*** fear Russia’s nukes, and while Russia is unable to use those, it seems ‘powerless’.
Some here will claim that the blockade on Russia is a ‘good thing’ cos it forces Russia to be ‘self reliant’. Sorry chaps- in the modern world that is a nonsense concept for any major advanced power. Does the USA fret that all the best computer chips are now made outside the USA? Of course not. America wants a balanced economy- where it can certainly make key items- but otherwise wants to develop parts of the world (far east, east russia, mexico) to use cheap labour to make goods for america far more efficently than would happen at home.
If Russia only has good access to the things it makes itself, Russia will fall behind the Empire of the West to a fatal degree.
Putin must act to stop the bullying and the sanctions- else a ***real*** cold war will bury Russia. This means perfect ‘tit-for-tat’. If a West nation hits Russia in any way, Russia must hit back harder so the people of that nation hate their politicians and their anti-Russian policies.
American sanctions against Russia should mean Russia throws America out of Iraq and Syria, and publicly issues arrests warrants for American generals responsible for crimes against Humanity in Mosul etc. Only if America knows there is a cost to its bullying will it stop. Putin currently makes American bullying cost free- so every day neo-con and neo-liberal US politicians ask why congress doesn’t sanction Russia more.
Look how America illegally grabbed Russian diplomatic compounds and threw out Russian diplomats at the end of 2016. Putin did nothing (to give Trump a chance to prove himself)- but as a result Americans saw Putin as weak, and have simply upped attacks on Russia- backed very publicly by Trump.
I really wish Russia could do everything by herself. But Russia has a teeny tiny population by the planet’s standards- and as a ‘white European’ population, it ain’t growing anywhere fast enough. Russian trade with the most advanced manufacturing nations is essential- remember the Empire of the West is going to continue to trade with anyone it wishes, with zero chance of trade sanctions no matter how many crimes the West commits.
This ‘turbine’ issue is a good starting point, since said turbines were actually Russian made. Putin should twist Merkel’s arm in private until she issues a ***very*** public apology to the Russian people- and acknowldges that Crimea is Russian. Merkel, after all, happily admits that all the French, British, American and Israeli military bases built on lands stolen from people the empire powers butchered and/or ejected are fine and dandy. So it isn’t a matter of ‘principle’ for the Germans.
Russia must start to act like a first rate Empire Power- there is no other choice but defeat to other Empire Powers that do.
I was happily watching the MC-21 airplane video when I noticed 2 extremely negative facts:
1. They were using computers with that OS which will surely relay all data to the zioalphabet agencies
2. Motors from a company in USSA!!! I am afraid that is not a joke. So the Russian company will be dependent on the whims and ill will of demonic zios from the west, which can range from disrupted deliveries, plain blockade to even murderous sabotage.
In 2018, the engines will be Russian.
As for securing the OS, I think the Russians know Electronic security as well as any nation.
from Wikipedia
Engines[edit]
The 30,000 lbf (130 kN) thrust class Pratt & Whitney PW1000G was selected in December 2009.[26] The Russian engine will be the 8–16 tf (18,000–35,000 lbf) Aviadvigatel PD-14.[27] Its certification is slated for 2018.[3]
The Aviadvigatel PD-14 (earlier PS-14) is a next generation turbofan engine being developed by Aviadvigatel to become one of the alternative power plants for the Irkut MC-21 twin-jet airliner. The PD-14 was announced in early 2010 with its development cost estimated at RUB 35 billion (US$1.1 billion).[2] The company expects to start the certification procedure for the PD-14 in 2012.[3]
The PD-14 turbofan family is planned to be expanded with the geared turbofan PD-18R, with a thrust of 18,000 to 20,000 kgf. Applications are expected in heavy passenger and transport aircraft, such as the Ilyushin Il-96.[4][5]
Well, Russia has the source code for that OS, no reporting is allowed. P&W engines are temp measure and for the market in the west. PD14 will be ready in months.
An aircraft able to use different engines is more versatile on the export market. Used to be standard design practice in days gone by, being able to still provide the option now is a sign of very well thought out engineering.
Japan Nears Completion of USS Fitzgerald Crash Probe, US Declines to Help
https://sputniknews.com/military/201707241055841088-crash-investigation-no-us-cooperation/
“Japanese authorities announced on Monday their investigation into the deadly collision between the USS Fitzgerald and a Philippines commercial freighter is nearly complete, though they have received no cooperation from the US.
After repairs were finished on the ACX Crystal container container ship, the vessel and most of its crew were able to leave Japan for Thailand on Sunday, though the ship’s captain and some crew members voluntarily stayed behind for questioning, according to Yoshinori Fukushima, company spokesman for the group that owns the ACX Crystal.
The June 17 accident took place in an area known for accidents due to being congested with ships hurriedly making their way to Tokyo off the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture. At the time of the collision the, US guided missile destroyer was carrying 300 crew members, and the berths of 116 sailors were flooded as a result of serious damage done to the vessel’s bottom and right side.
After the ship returned to the Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture naval base the bodies of seven sailors were found by Navy divers.
Officials say the US is exercising its right to investigate its ship and not share the information with Japan, even though the crash took place in Japanese territorial waters. This is allowed under the bilateral Status Of Forces Agreement (SOFA), and though Japan Coast Guard officials said they’re still considering cooperation with Washington, nothing has yet been confirmed.
The cause of the accident is also being investigated by experts from the Japan Transport Safety Board, and if there is no information forthcoming from the US officials may have to compile a report based only on the information they’ve gathered, according board spokesman Katsunori Takahashi. The spokesman pointed out that there have been other instances where Washington did not cooperate on an investigation.
The initial findings of the investigation pointed to the crew of the USS Fitzgerald being at fault for the crash, with one unnamed Defense official telling CNN that the crew “did nothing until the last second,” and “A slew of things went wrong,” while a second official said the incident will likely “wind up being our (the US Navy’s) fault.”
The officials suggested that the crew failed to take preventative action so the crash could be avoided.
Tom Fedyszyn of the Naval War College explained to the New York Post that the protocol for acknowledging an approaching ship is pretty straight forward, saying “If you looked off the bridge [of a ship there], you would see lights,” and that “You see something big coming at you and you call [the bridge of the oncoming vessel]…You tell them where you are, what your speed is, and you ask them to tell you their maneuvers.”
This is all straight forward maritime procedure the americans completely failed at here, the usn is trying to cover up the fact one of their frontline vessels was so poorly run they failed basic navigation that even weekender pleasure boaters are required to apply.
One wonders if the totally zionazified u.s. military is now at the “yeltsin level” of incompetence.
“Infrared jammers”?
How are they supposed to work? The infrared detectors on the missile are passive devices. They only “see” the heat. They can’t be “jammed”.

Svetlana Kapanina Is great! Also my late wifes name, she carries on the tradition of the name, which anyone knowing Svetlana Likholet would agree is difficult.
Thank you Scott for a very positive report it is always great to Russian at the forefront of humanity once again.
Regarding the Video of MC-21 assembly:
Engines from Pratt & Whitney – this is important as Engines are the most difficult part of an Airplane to develop.
Also, I see all heavy Machinery on the production being foreign origin.

I think made in Russia is quite a stretch in this case.
Having seen this I think Western dependency on Russia in regards to Space travel and Rocket engines might be mutual after all.
As long as Russia needs to import all these things to build a civil state of the art Aircraft I can understand Russian appeasement politics.
You are right. But must remember in today’s World technology is spread Worldwide. And countries use machines and component parts from other countries regularly. Russia is not alone there. But still it is a problem. One I’ve ranted about also regularly.
Its not really surprising. When the USSR’s industrial might was allowed to be destroyed. That left Russia without a home industry machine making capacity. And the World didn’t just stop in the 1990’s. It moved on with innovative machines being built. So if Russia hopes to solve that problem they are going to have to do what the US,Japan,South Korea,Germany,China, and the USSR first did earlier. Buy those new machines. Study them, and spend money building home made copies of them. And then using the creative genus that Russians are historically known for, improve on those machines and build their own versions of them. It is imperative that they do so if they want to free their country from dependence on “diktats” from the West.
The new global system is meant to be a financial based system for a few “lucky countries”. And to make the rest of the World “hewers of wood, drawers of water”. With only a few countries making the “important” products. Ruled over by that financial elite. And the other counties making the less important products and selling the raw materials needed by the elite economies.Russia to survive free must break away from that system. The question is whether her leaders have the “will” to do so or not.
