Dear friends,
I just decided to quickly drop by to let you know that the reports out of Novorussia are nothing short of incredible. Okay, this is not, repeat, *NOT* confirmed, but sources are reporting that Novorussian forces have bypassed Mariupol from the north and have entered the Zaporozhie region! I find this hard to believe, but some sources indicate that there is an offensive on Berdiansk. If true, this is almost scary as this means a very long flank opening to a Ukie counterattack from the North. There have been reports over the past few days that the Ukies are fleeing Mariupol, but I still would be very careful. The Ukies in the first southern cauldron came very close to breaking out through the north and I just hope that no Ukie force is considered finished until it is really, truly, finished.
Still, the speed at which the Ukies are retreating might (not sure!!) that they have reached their breaking point. If so, then this conflict is coming to some kind of a new phase.
Another thing which really made my day is the news that Putin told Poroshenko and Co. “we are not a party to this war – talk to the Novorussians”. Beautiful and perfectly timed!
We should know more by tomorrow morning.
In the meantime – keep open threading!
Cheers,
The Saker
It may be some STG ambushed the coastal road between Mariupol and Berdiansk. A few RPGs, some burning AFV on the road and some panicked militants could create this strange reports ?

Just in case Ukraine and Germany try any thing cute
I have been reading sitreps and updates from numerous sources as often as I can since this damn thing started. There is NO DOUBT that something very distinct is happening.
I’ve never read more complete, precise, positive and progressive updates than I have been over the last 4 days.
Obviously, I am a long way away from the action but, looking at all the info being based on a regular timeline, over a 4 month period, it is obvious that some type of Ukie collapse has taken place.
Almost like a Dam has broken all over the last few days.
There are reports in Business Insider and on Itar-Tass referring to RF paratroopers killed (reported on the former source), and burials of dead paratroopers being investigated inside Russia (reported on the latter source).
Combined with the “captured” paratroopers, this is all very interesting. It could be true, it could be false, it could be the creation of the Kiev SBU/US whack jobs who need to obfuscate the disaster in the East and the new disaster in the South.
I suspect the geniuses in Kiev will convince Royal Caribbean to bring a cruise ship into the Black Sea so they can sink it with 4000 aboard. And maybe that will be the size of false flag they require to get their collapse out of the news.
It’s Wednesday. By the weekend, they must have something else other than the Ukie rout for the talk shows.
Merkle has already said the US can’t solve the problems facing the world. Her economy is going south fast. She bet her dowry on the wrong horse.
And the US can only hope ISIS quiets down so the megaphone can be filled again with anti-Putin nonsense.
Kids are going back to school soon. Teachers will be asking some of them what they did for the summer. Some kids will be telling their teacher that they learned about a new country called Novorossiya. It’s the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave and everyone speaks Russian.

Anyone hearing chatter on the wire about this?
The ‘rebels’, having reached their SINGULARITY, can now employ the ‘blitzkrieg’ that was such a terrible tactic for the neo-Nazis (hence the ‘cauldrons’).
Blitzkrieg requires rapid conquer and conversion tactics of the territories gained. This was something Kiev could never do, leading them into the same type of traps the original Nazis eventually encountered in Russia during WW2.
But when Blitzkrieg worked for the original Nazis, it revolutionised the face of modern warfare (which prior to that date relied on mega-expensive, static, state-of-the-art defensive lines).
Google “Ukraine” in the news section, and read what the Jewish controlled mainstream media is currently saying. If you recall, these outlets were telling their readers only a week or so back that the ‘rebels’ were about to fall. Some of the ‘short-bus’ types haven’t got the updated memo, and are still pushing this nonsense. But most have swapped to headlines declaring the Putin has sent Russian forces into East Ukraine, and these are the reason for the ‘magic’ reversal.
Problem is, these so-called Russian forces are NOT accused of defending the two main ‘rebel’ cities, which is curious since Kiev’s main attacks were happening there. The focus instead is one telling their readers that Putin himself (yes, really) is directly commanding new forces sweeping Southwards- ultimately on their way to Crimea (apparently).
The Jewish controlled mainstream media of the West ALWAYS assumes its readership has the memory of a goldfish (hence the memory-hole concept of Orwell’s 1984). With regard to 99% of the sheeple, they are sadly right.
So we have victory at last? Well yes, Novorussia now clearly has an army that can defend the new independent region from CURRENT neo-Nazi forces. But this outcome is what NATO was planning for all along. Had Putin simply sent in the peacekeepers at the beginning, Ukraine would have split into new nations by now, with ZERO escalating military tensions.
East Ukraine has reached a level of successful militarisation that now allows NATO to formally define it as a CLEAR and PRESENT threat. NATO has a major meeting coming up in Tony Blair’s homeland. NATO is about to open up a second front against Russia in Finland, another region Russia CANNOT allow to become a NATO first-strike base.
The West can trivially craft a Syria-style war against Novorussia for as long as it desires. And since Ukraine possessed simple nuclear warheads (manufactured AFTER independence), the nightmare scenario has the monsters of the West ‘persuading’ their Kiev stooges to apply the ‘Hiroshima’ option. If this seems INSANE to you, you haven’t been paying attention to the absolutely horrific warmongering of the West since the first Iraq War.
By hook or by crook, the monsters will get their World War. Ramping up accepted levels of military violence all across our planet is an essential part of their ‘grooming’ strategy- and getting the use of nukes as an ‘expected’ part of large scale warfare is a stage they must reach.
PS Humanity used to consider bombing cities from the air as obscene as nuclear warfare. The most extraordinary propaganda campaigns were crafted in the early 20th century to reverse this opinion- and by the time WW2 arrived, the ‘allies’ could burn entire cities filled with civilians to the ground, with minimum public outcry.
Unlike Kiev, the NAF Commanders value their troops and don’t put them at risk with foolish attacks for publicity. The South Front Counter-Offensive is real; it is possible due to excellent reconnaissance work and an influx of manpower. NAF announced today it’s number of Units have quadrupled, yes quadrupled, thanks to new recruits and training. Kiev and their Washington masters are still scratching their heads in disbelief. Believe it.
Lets keep are fingers crossed it for real:)
If NAF continues to pin down UA forces in Mariupol, there’s little chance for reinforcements to try to break through and rescue the Donbass Battalion that’s trapped near Ilovaysk.
This war ends in NAF somehow marches into Melitopol.
Russia wants the land route to Crimea open for sure. That means taking Zaporozhya and Kherson. Dniepropetrovsk (Yulia Timoshenko’s home town), a little further up the river, can wait a while.
For a very active live feed of Tweets, Brad Caban’s Twitter is alive and pulsating with news of the new offensive and lots of other battle reports.

It gets addictive so don’t stay too long.
Most of it is unconfirmed, not true, not true yet, never will be true.
Is it not possible that the Kiev forces are being led deliberately to disaster in order to create a platform in the East for Russia to engage in a proxy war with the Nato-backed forces in the West?
This would explain the insane genocidal threats of Tymoshenko and others against the Russian people of Eastern Ukraine, which prompted the vote for autonomy, which justified the punitive assault on the East, which led to the creation of the militia, which has been allowed to push back the junta forces, thus creating a justification for Nato intervention, leading to greater Russian commitment until a full-scale war is achieved with the objective of pitting the latest Western military tech against the best that Russia possesses: the ultimate objective being to humiliate Russia, destroy Putin’s credibility and make way for the breakup of the Russian Federation prior to a further round of oligarchic looting.
None of which is intended to detract from the remarkable valor and success of the Novorossiyan’s in their struggle against genocidal neo-Nazi aggressors.

Obama swinging his three-iron.
His advisers speak like a chorus, as one.
Obama: what is going on?
Advisers: Hillary’s State Department just lost Ukraine.
Obama: How can I benefit from this?
Advisers: Putin and the Chinese are going to build some golf courses in Crimea and Ukraine soon. We can get you an early tee-off time, Mr. President.
Obama: Where the hell is Ukraine and Crimea anyway? Harvard never taught me maps and stuff. I was a Constitutional Scholar, you know. I was the Law Review guy, whatever you call it it. You know, the guy in charge and stuff.
Advisers: Not to worry, Mr. President. Air Force One has maps. They’ll get you to the golf course safe and sound.
Obama: Book a foursome. Then find me three people who I can beat at golf. We’ll go this weekend.
Advisers: There are no golf courses ready, there’s a war going on, Mr. President.
Obama: I want to play golf this weekend. Tell Putin to make it happen, dammit. He can do anything. If I’m playing golf in Crimea and Ukraine this weekend, we’ll call it even and he can keep the damn place.
Advisers: Yes, Mr. President. Will do.
Obama: See, I can make that midget jump. (Obama looks into a big mirror in the Oval Office, talks into the image of himself.) Build a golf course, Vladdy. Let’s see you do that. Ha! Who’s the most powerful man in the world now?
Adviser: Mr. President, ISIS just invaded Jordan.
Obama: Jordan? Tell Michael I said “whas’ up?”.

Novorossiya Military Briefing – Novorossiya Shall Be!
Slavyangrad.org
Excerpts from final 3 of 17 paragraphs:
The Junta…are now hastily withdrawing troops from Perekop (on the Crimean border) and bringing territorial battalions of questionable combat readiness to the front. They have also announced the 4th wave of mobilization and are trying quickly to drag ancient armoured vehicles from long-term storage to the frontlines…
Overall, it still is not quite clear how the Junta intends to avoid a complete defeat here. It will clearly not be able to restore the previous frontline, and the only question is whether the surrounded troops will be able to break out…and where the Militia’s offensive will stop…
…After this disaster it became absolutely clear that the Junta does not have the capacity to destroy Novorossiya. By squandering the most combat-capable brigades in systematic offensive operations, the Junta sustained enormous losses and at the same time suffered a crushing, purely military defeat. The southern front has collapsed. Novorossiya shall exist!
Maybe the Ukies are retreating because they keep reading about a full Russian invasion in the NYT and on twitter?
I hope the NAF freedom fighters can break the Ukrainian Army, the National Guard, and eliminate the private merk units.
It makes me sad that so many civilians are being killed and wounded in the Junta’s unloading of missiles and artillery on the cities.
If the plan works the brave NAF fighters will roll back the “masters of the universe” and stop the Western globalistic neo-feudalism once and for all. A truly monumental accomplishment.
The rest of the predominately Russian regions would be smart to use this opportunity to break away from the Junta and avoid the takeover of their economies.
It is worth recalling that on February 23, the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) voted the following bills:
4201 – Bill to ban Ukrainian Communist Party activity.
4217 – Bill to redress antecedents of the Soviet occupation of Ukraine.
4176 – Bill to repeal law penalizing Nazi propaganda.
4184 – Bill to place V. Avakov as minister of the interior and members of “Right Sector” party on ministry staff (Avakov also belongs to the party which many consider fascist). Σ
4215 – Bill to establish a “Pantheon of national heroes.”
4203 – Bill to curb state spending.
4215 – Bill to pay tribute to participants in the clashes during peaceful demonstrations.
4197 – Bill to place “Svoboda” party member Α.Mahnitskogo as Prosecutor General.
4204 – Bill delineating the duties of the President of the Uraine.
4191 – Bill to place “UDAR” party member V.A. Nalivaychenko as overseer of Ukrainian Security Agencies
4211 – Bill to fire incumbent officers and personnel of security forces and replace them with new personnel (the latter are believed to be members of extreme right wing groups).
4199- Bill to repeal the use of their native language by minorities, which refers to Russian, Romanian, Hungarian, and Greek.
Well blow me over with a feather. Get this claim:
a vast column of “up to 100” tanks and heavy weapons from Russia was spotted moving towards Temanove
Recall that Telegraph Co. UK columnist, Oliphant who a few short weeks ago, reported seeing Russian military convoy crossing the border into Ukraine? He is at it again:
Well, do we believe him now? He reports from Moscow on the lightening capture
of Novoazovsk although still slanting that troops and 100 tanks came in from Russia. Nevertheless, his post confirms Kiev troops are losing very badly:
Pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine seized a key coastal town yesterday in a move which opened a dangerous new front against the Kiev government.
Separatist forces flying the flag of the rebel Donetsk People’s republic entered the coastal town of Novoazovsk, depriving Ukraine of control of its southernmost section of border with Russia and putting the insurgents within striking distance of the centre of regional government in Mariupol.

Not confirmed: re: clash of civilizations. and what is really at stake.
Everyone talks about the midEast and the clash of civilizations being an excuse for genocide of the Muslim populations, but there is a quiet clash going on in the Ukraine. It is a matter of the heart. Somehow in two different locations the Novorussyia militias held on against all odds until the tide of battle decisively turned. Why? Because love of their land and the divine Sofia was in the very marrow of their being and opposite them were people without that wisdom and strength. It is a very quiet, hidden and subtle difference but it turns the more or less equal quantity of any situation these days into the deciding quality. Spirituality of the heart counts in the battles to come. Never let them rob us of it. Anyone who can watch the systematic bombings of Gaza and the Ukraine and feel no anguish is lost spiritually regardless of how they talk and what excuses they give and how many degrees of divinity they claim to have earned. It is so disappointing for me to see people whom I used to respect not live up to the challenges of living ensouled in these times. Fight the good fight always!

Lavrov: talks the only way to find out if eastern regions want to be part of Ukraine
SELIGER, Russia. Aug 27 (Interfax) – Only talks between the Ukrainian government and eastern Ukrainian regions can make it clear whether the eastern territories are willing to remain part of Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov argued on Wednesday.
Russia May Send Second Humanitarian Convoy to Ukraine ‘Very Soon’ – Kremlin Spokesman
MOSCOW, August 27 (RIA Novosti) — Another convoy carrying Russian humanitarian aid may be sent to eastern Ukraine “very soon,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday…

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday that the second convoy would follow the same route as the first, but should reach the destination faster…
Anunnaki,
You seriously want to replace Obama with Biden-Burisma? Or impeach him also and end up with Boehner??? I say let’s roto-root ALL of DC, starting with the Supremes, then Congress, then the White House! I mean, seriously (well, ok, slightly snarkily also…), we could staff all 446 of the open positions via lottery and do better than what we’ve got right now.
Lottery as the Greeks knew, is the only viable form of democracy. Aristotle says elections are for aritocrats.

High danger time for the next false flag/dirty trick. But: after drawing, blocking, destroying and disarming the main UA battle force, NAF now has: humanitarian aid, international connectivity, international brigades, a navy, a regular army, expanded personnel, apparently is activating the underground guerilla within Mariupol and elsewhere, and according to at least one report, now has an ‘air force’. Mariupol can be blocked without ‘taking’ it, and ‘taken’ from within by guerilla/subversive activity. Melitopol awaits. Something is happening in Kharkiv. Transcarpathia is ready. Transnistria is mobilized. Abkhazia signs common security space treaty with Russia later this year.
Putin and Lavrov have stated that Ukraine must negotiate with NAF, NAF has stated they don’t accept a ceasefire, don’t accept federalization and don’t accept Ukraine in its current form.
The Russian war plan for the long-anticipated NATO invasion of Ukraine is a matter of public record, in novels, blogs, military doctrine, etc. As Putin told Bush in 2009, if NATO were ever to move on Ukraine, it would ‘cease to exist’. And the Russian war plan has been pulled off (without firing a shot) in public view, but with plausible deniability, turned into a people’s revolution that is likely to create a new socialist state in Europe, has split the US and Europe, has driven a wedge into the EU, exposed NATO, exposed the western press, and given hope to Latin America, Africa and Asia (and Europe) hope for a new future based on cooperation and peace. This is truly the most important event in history since WWII.
I’ve always loved Russian culture and history, now I have to further hand it to the Russians, they are the greatest American revolutionaries in post-Vietnam history.

There is Prykarpattya and Zakarpattya. Zakarpattya announced that they won’t be mobilizing even AFTER 1,500 Right Sektor goons showed up in their cities. For that, Kiev decided to secure western region to prevent a second front. The 5th battalion just left their posts and headed to Delyatyn, Ivano-Frankivs’ka oblast, Ukraine. They got stopped in Znam’yanka, and Ukrainian Army superiors are talking to them. Apparently they decided to go home. However, I’m not sure in which Znam’yanka/Знаменка they stopped, since they’re 5 of them.

On the ground Russia finally got that humanitarian white truck convoy delivered, and will press ahead with a new one. This will assure East Ukraine lives through the winter.
The recent statement by the Foreign Minister of Russia makes me feel that Russia will not see East Ukraine fall, either by economic blockade or military blockage. Things are looking up.

The offensive of Novorossiya army on a large sea port of Mariupol coincided with the intensification of diplomatic efforts between the two unrecognized republics – Abkhazia and Novorossiya…
A large-scale war needs large supplies. But the large supplies need not to be “associated with Moscow”. The best option is Abkhazia…

Every night, bedtime, the Lord’s Prayer. Requests for help for my friends, for the soldiers fighting for Liberty, for Putin and for my kids.
I sometimes do the same while taking my daily walks.
I’m not really religious, but prayers in my life have been answered, and I respect Karma, also.
I have participated in a Solstice ceremony one time that linked fellow prayers from the Arctic down the Pacific Coast to Tierra del Fuego. All linked in prayer/thought/and intention on a full moon night. A hawk circled over the tipi and we could see it backlit by the moon through the opening at the apex where the poles touch and the smoke from the sage ascends. The cosmos, nature, mankind all God’s work and inspiring.
God sends signs in many forms.
Your prayers will impact I am certain in that belief, even though I might not be able to prove it.
Thank you, Michael. Welcome to the tipi.

Any thoughts on what the Novorossiyans are trying to achieve? Open the road to Crimea? Attack Manhush base not far to the west of Mariupol? Are there bases that some GRAD attacks now when they are in a state of panic be desirable?
Perhaps some of these attacks are just meant as raids and then they will run back to Crimea.
It’s Putin playing the media to be Chicken Little.

“I find this hard to believe”
It has been a strange week. On the surface it looked like the UA were close to taking Luhansk and Donetsk but *under* the surface it looked like they were the ones getting desperate (firing ballistic missiles etc).
I think Strelkov (if he’s the general) took it right to the edge before launching his counter attack to maximize its effectiveness and it seems to have paid off.
Strelkov or not, whoever planned this must have nerves of steel.
Clearing Maidan, Parubiy’s resignation, threats from Tyahnybok…the context of the seeming military collapse of the Ukrainian front is possibly the result of the disaffection of the neofascist wing of the junta. A resolution of the internal political crisis can resolve the military collapse as well.
The PR interpretation is that Russian units are engaged (not just as individuals.) As such intervention, either barely disguised as now or brazenly is the order of the day.
Incredible, bypassing the sea port, moving north. Here are a few things the Novorussia army will not do. They won’t attack civilian centers. They won’t sacrifice their soldiers in meat grinder operations for political purposes. They won’t wear Nazi paraphernalia and strut around.
They will achieve their objectives.
One thing I really like about all the photographs and videos of Novorussian soldiers is the age bracket – definitely 30+ to a major extent. To come out of civilian life and become part of a highly effective, bad ass fighting contingent is quire remarkable.
“High danger time for the next false flag/dirty trick.”
Not yet imo, things turned around too fast. A week ago they still thought they were on the verge of winning. I doubt the dramatic change has even sunk in yet.
Plus part of this neocon attack on Russia via the Ukraine coup was because of Russia stopping them from attacking Syria. Now they have Isis as an excuse to attack Syria they may be busy for a while trying to cause more slaughter there.

“One thing I really like about all the photographs and videos of Novorussian soldiers is the age bracket – definitely 30+ to a major extent. To come out of civilian life and become part of a highly effective, bad ass fighting contingent is quire remarkable.”
Yes it’s been very noticeable.
Historically the military has always recruited young men but after this I wonder if in a mechanized army which doesn’t need young legs to march 30 miles a day on foot whether older guys might actually be more effective?
Larchmonter,
“I suspect the geniuses in Kiev will convince Royal Caribbean to bring a cruise ship into the Black Sea so they can sink it with 4000 aboard.”
You’re right the Ukies might be crazed and desperate enough to try a false flag on that scale in Odessa, but how are they going to convince the world it was a Russian cruise missile that sank the damn thing LIKE THAT (snaps fingers) just because Russia = pure evil?
And I seriously doubt cruise ships are packed to the gills sailing into Odessa anyway at the moment. Even if the Odessa girls are hard to beat for beauty than anywhere in the world. Too bad some of them have become Nazis too.
“By the weekend, they must have something else other than the Ukie rout for the talk shows.” Anyway, my money would be on a false flag to be blamed on ISIS and their latest US recruits, so Obama can unleash hell on Syria and if he ‘happens’ to take out half of Assad’s remaining air force in the first wave, well oopsie we said we’d bomb both Assad and ISIS to keep anyone from getting the upper hand right?
Total madness. But at least it shows the New World Order puppetmasters are consistent. By God when they set out to topple a regime and take over a country they do it hell or high water even if they have to unleash two legged demons in the guise of the worst ISIS filth to do it. The globalists never, ever give up until they’re dead and realize Lucifer isn’t the good guy and he sold them a bill of goods before they see the gates of Hell opening in front of their immortal eyes…
Any specific info on the dead Russian paratroopers? These dont look like rooks but some kind of advanced scouts. Maybe they went in to make sure the aid convoy got through without any problems. If so these would be the first Russian military personal that got killed inside Ukraine. Because they even say he was killed in luhansk.
“So we have victory at last? Well yes, Novorussia now clearly has an army that can defend the new independent region from CURRENT neo-Nazi forces. But this outcome is what NATO was planning for all along. Had Putin simply sent in the peacekeepers at the beginning, Ukraine would have split into new nations by now, with ZERO escalating military tensions.” This is where I think the ‘Putin waited too long, it’s too late now, he’s playing into NATO’s hands’ commenters miss the mark. How do they know Russia wouldn’t have faced a guerilla war, Z. Brezinski’s openly stated wet dream? (Sorry to use such a graphic sexualized term). Many of us who comment here know old Z. Big bragged to the French media after 9/11 about luring the clumsy Soviet Bear into a trap in Afghanistan, that covert aid was authorized by President Jimmy Carter months before the Soviets actually invaded on December 25, 1979. Z. Big had specifically said he wanted the US to give Ukraine weapons ideal for an urban-based guerilla movement, including anti-tank rockets and explosives for making roadside bombs.
Frankly, if Putin had sent the troops in earlier the potential for them to be bled, and to fight intact Ukie units that would be forced to adopt guerilla tactics to cope with Russia’s air and conventional superiority — would have been much higher. Now the Ukies are demoralized, having lost many of their best brigades slugging it out with the NAF or on the border, and the reserves of Ukie manpower are far weaker to organize a coherent defensive line or guerilla army even in Zhaporozhe region right down to Kherson and Crimea. The sacrifices of the NAF in the cauldrons and the long teeth-grinding sieges of Lugansk and Donetsk have not been in vain, any more than Chutkov’s troops died in vain to hold on in Stalingrad while Zhukov and Rokosovskiy gathered the armored pincers and waited for the opportune moment to blast through the Romanian and Italian lines holding the German 6th Army’s rear in November 1942. The Ukie Army had to be exhausted first and the Kiev junta’s fangs shown to everyone with two brain cells to rub together in Novorossiya before the concept could come together and young and middle aged men discovered that they were ready to fight for their freedom.

I join “woogs” in giving a hat tip to Larchmonter445’s: “Some kids will be telling their teacher that they learned about a new country called Novorossiya. It’s the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave and everyone speaks Russian.”
Without raining on anyone’s parade–hopefully–I would like to return to some comments in the post “What is the deal with the Ukie “cauldrons”?
An initial comment by Ixlan at 11:00 concerned the game “Go” or “Weiqi” and how China and Russia appear to be playing “Go” while the US, at best, is playing chess. Larchmonter445 comments, also, at 14:44.
I appreciate the info Ixlan provided and the comparisons made and encourage you to read his comment.
Of course we have the longer running, even simpler, comparison of chess (Russia) vs checkers (US).
I admit that I used to think in those terms. That’s not hard when you have, seemingly, buffoons like Nuland, Kerry, Psaki, Samantha Powers and so on.
What’s convinced me otherwise is that, regardless of the ostensible players, Republicans or Democrats, buffoons or “realists”, gravitas or cheap sentimentality, rain or sunshine, the game goes on.
Wesley Clark revealed that the game plan of wasting seven countries in five years was revealed to him in 2001. Those countries: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran.
Thanks to good people in Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Russia, and Novorussia, there have been lots of delays. But does anyone want to argue that the game plan is over?
That’s 13 years, folks, so we have long range planning.
As far as Ixlan’s assertion that the US is one-dimensional in focus, I don’t see that, either. Not only has the US (and Europe) created endless misery in the ME, it’s released havoc in a good part of Africa by destroying Libya. It’s currently “pivoting toward Asia”.
And now you have this: Russian Intelligence Warns Moscow of US-Led ISIL Threat
“The SVR has warned Kremlin in a report that the US is seeking to lead the ISIL forces in the Caucasus and the Central Asia to create a new front against Russia in the Central Asia in future to implement their plots and policies in the Middle-East,” an informed source, who is close to Kremlin officials and asked to remain unnamed due to the sensitivity of his information, told FNA on Tuesday.
“Using Saudi Arabia’s facilities, which has shown its capability in transferring terrorists to Syria and Iraq, for recruiting forces in the Central Asia, the US has coaxed the Wahhabi clerics affiliated to Riyadh into attracting fighters from different Central Asian states, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, to prepare them mentally for being sent to Syria and Iraq. Then, they are trained in Kyrgyzstan and transferred to Istanbul and then to Syria and Iraq,” the source said.
The report warns Russia of the danger of a US-led front run by the ISIL fighters in the Central Asia, stressing that the threat will sooner or later jeopardize the country’s security, he concluded.
If you want to argue that it’s much easier to turn a bull loose in a china shop (a pun, if you want to look at it like that), than to protect the shop, or to repair the shop or to return to a shop that has disappeared, I would agree. The responders to the chaos-threatening and creating beast have to be much more clever and wily.
It would be a mistake, though,it seems to me, to see the US only as a sailor, drunk with power and greed, staggering from lamppost to lamppost…

My old nemesis from 2002-3, still stinking up the joint, today he adds more lies to his incredible career of disinformation:
MICHAEL R. GORDON FYI, – [Gordon was/is THE NY Times disinformation specialist of the Iraq Invasion. He was one of the main purveyors of the story that Saddam Hussein would have a nuclear weapons in a matter of months.]
This time, the Headline screams::
UKRAINE REPORTS; RUSSIAN INVASION ON NEW FRONT
Quoting myself from before: “[Ukraine] reports of all sorts of things, but I pay a lot of taxes for spy satellites…so why isn’t Gordon claiming to have verified the reports with aerial reconnaissance?”
But it gets worse, the RUSSIAN INVASION Gordon “reports” consists of…wait for it;
“Ukraine’s military said included five [COUNT ‘EM FIVE] armored personnel carriers”
Now it’s clear from Gordon, the US armed, funded & led coup forces are having their collective ass kicked in and Gordon has been given the job of shifting the blame away from policy makers such as Obama & Hillary’s hand picked nut-job, Nuland and onto Russia & Putin, never mind that Hillary started this by spending $5,000,000,000.00 in taxpayer dollars to support SS wannabees in a violent coup.
A consummate liar, there has to be a special place in hell for Gordon and for that matter, the editors of the NYTimes…and their ilk. The fact of the matter is; the US insisted that the coup leaders, on the US payroll, force hastily conscripted soldiers into a blitzkrieg war, WITHOUT any air support. In spite of superior armor, the supply lines were repeatedly cutoff and rather than beat a hasty retreat to “defensible” positions, they pressed on…just as the Nazis’ did in the original Barbarossa. Read the article through, watch the not so subtle weasel words, the lack of proper attribution, “an American official”, “The United States has photographs that show”, “another photo shows artillery”, not one accusatory sentence has a person’s name, or approximate position attached to the claim. Let me remind you again, Gordon is the guy that warned of Saddam’s nuclear arms being ready to go within months…arms that existed only in his warped fiction writers mind.

From Wiki:
“During the first phase of the Iraq war, he was the only newspaper reporter embedded with the allied land command under General Tommy Franks, a position that “granted him unique access to cover the invasion strategy and its enactment””
“he was the first to report Saddam Hussein’s alleged nuclear weapons program in August 2002 with the article “U.S. Says Hussein Intensifies Quest for A-Bomb Parts.”
As an author, he [wrote] The Generals’ War: The Inside Story of the Conflict in the Gulf, which covers the 1991 Gulf War,[citation needed] and Cobra II, which covers the Iraq War begun 2003.[4]

“Strelkov or not, whoever planned this must have nerves of steel.”
Strelkov in this sense is repeating Chutkov and Zhukov’s strategy at Stalingrad — wait until the enemy is at his most exhausted point then spring the trap and close the pincers. Which Zhukov ALMOST pulled off at Moscow, but he didn’t have enough forces left due to the encirclement battles earlier in 41′ and the exhausted Germans fell back far enough to escape total disaster, and delay it for another year.
Still a real risk of a Ukie attack from the north in force cutting off the units that were supposed to flank Mariupol and cut it off from the mainland. Hopefully there’s a Crimean ‘fishing feet’ at ready for Plan C or NAF mini-Dunkirk should that become necessary. The NAF have balls for sure to launch such a brazen attack along the coast and I for one do not think they would do it if they didn’t think that Mother’s Russia’s Air Force and Navy if necessary would be there to cut off any mass Ukie reinforcements in their tracks. Especially since Russia has enough cruise missiles that its aircraft wouldn’t even have to penetrate Ukie air space the missiles could be launched from the Sea of Azov and hit their targets eg Ukie command posts and parked tank/truck columns advancing south at night. The Ukies wouldn’t know what hit them until they find fragments of the cruise missiles left over on the ground by which time few will care.

I think that could be true. When Kiev reported the capture of the 10 paratroopers, it was yet to see in the German comment sections. Right away, in the Forum of the “tagesschau”, the most important newscast, as well as in the newspapers was doubted that this incident has taken place. Greeks Fighting Alongside Donetsk People’s Republic Militia – Reports
http://en.ria.ru/world/20140827/192384386/Greeks-Fighting-Alongside-Donetsk-Peoples-Republic-Militia–.html
“Pontic Greeks, who live in Greece, should be concerned with the fate of the Greeks living in Mariupol, which is trapped under the shelling [and other firing] of the Kiev-Lviv punishers,” the paper reported.
It is also noted in the paper that apart from Greeks, two battalions of Serbs and even 25 US citizens are fighting for “traditional human values” alongside militia in southeast Ukraine.”
This is good news as Greeks have lived in Mariupol enclaves with their own roadblocks since the Junta forces took over the city. Having Pontic Greeks in the front lines of the Mariupol mousetrap will assist in gaining the support and confidence of the many Greeks in the city.
I fully expect that the NAF will set back and request the surrender of the Junta forces in Mariupol to avoid civilian casualties.
3:35 of this video…that’s someone speaking Russian/Ukrainian mix with a Polish accent if I’ve ever heard one. Note the up-lilt of the question ‘sniper is working’. No wonder NAF say the most stubborn resistance among the mercs and ‘volunteer battalions’ their fighting is coming from Poles.

Why can,t the Novorussian forces take back Donetsk airport? I would have thought that would have been relatively simple.

we could staff all 446 of the open positions via lottery and do better than what we’ve got right now.
There is a French scholar after a very thorough and deep research effort of several years came to the conclusion that lottery is indeed the best system of all. The electoral system (any electoral system) is in reality the mean by which “democracy” is denied to the people. Very interesting stuff and afaict absolutely spot on.

PS: This guy, Etienne Chouard, is imho the man who single handedly managed to make France vote NO against the “European Constitution” in 2005.
This is starting to look more and more like a rout: Territorial battalions are fleeing: The 5th Territorial Battalion from Ivano-Frankivsk left with 400 men and went home. No one in Ukraine could stop them on the way.
Sources
– Carpathian 5th territorial defense battalion deserted (No, this is not TRANScarpathia, but Ivano-Frankivsk in core Banderastan)
– 5th Battalion territorial defense Carpathian traveled Kirovograd (PHOTOS)
– Through the checkpoint in Kiev tried to drive 400 armed soldiers who left the position in the area of ATO
– From the front, fled 400 Ukrainian soldiers with weapons. What’s next?
The stories are not clear on what happened. They were stationed at Amvrosievka, but decided to leave. On article suggest they went through Russia, but that would be impossible with their weapons. I suggest NAF simply let them out on a promise they would pack up and drive home. NAF could not take their weapons because without them the junta would have arrested them half-way.

The most reliable source for the latest events seems to be Military Maps – at least people seem to be relying on it a great deal. What it shoes this morning is truly remarkable: The NAF attack has two equal goals: Crimea AND the River Dnieper! If the later succeeds all of left bank Ukraine south of Zaporizhia will be cut off from the rest of former Ukraine.

It is extremely pleasant to watch unfolding the offensive I have been predicting for nearly 2 months now on this blog. The rush towards the Azov and Dnipr we now see unfolding is a joy.
Once the northern front is sufficiently stretched by this offensive, we will see a wheeling breakthorugh out of Lugansk that will circle around towards Izyum and Kharkov and thus cut off Slavyansk and Kramatorsk and fold the northern front back on top of itself.
According to Zaharachenko, the DNR portion of the NAF forces is now at the strength of 8 Brigades or at least 24,000 men, including one armored Brigade (2 tank battallions and one mechanized battallion). I would expect the LNR forces are at least half this strength.

So at what point on the map do Novarussian forces stop going west? There is a natural line to separate the east from the west in Ukraine and that is the Dnipro. But that actually runs straight through the centre of Kiev. Could it be that we shall see a repeat of the formation of Pakistan and all the bloodletting that that involved. This situation calls for the cool heads of Putin/Lavrov, but are there any cool heads in the west to engage them?

According to the above, some of the junta nazis are digging in inside Mariupol. So probably not a total rout of nazis yet, as hoped. But one unit of the junta’s from the Transcarpathian region up and left.
