[this column was written for the Unz Review]
“Missing the forest for the trees” is an apt metaphor if we take a look at most commentary describing the past twenty years or so. This period has been remarkable in the number of genuinely tectonic changes the international system has undergone. It all began during what I think of as the “Kristallnacht of international law,” 30 August September 1995, when the Empire attacked the Bosnian-Serbs in a direct and total violation of all the most fundamental principles of international law. Then there was 9/11, which gave the Neocons the “right” (or so they claimed) to threaten, attack, bomb, kill, maim, kidnap, assassinate, torture, blackmail and otherwise mistreat any person, group or nation on the planet simply because “we are the indispensable nation” and “you either are with the terrorists or with us“. During these same years, we saw Europe become a third-rate US colony incapable of defending even fundamental European geopolitical interests while the USA became a third-rate colony of Israel equally incapable of defending even fundamental US geopolitical interests. Most interestingly looking back, while the US and the EU were collapsing under the weight of their own mistakes, Russia and China were clearly on the ascend; Russia mostly in military terms (see here and here) and China mostly economically. Most crucially, Russia and China gradually agreed to become symbionts which, I would argue, is even stronger and more meaningful than if these two countries were united by some kind of formal alliance: alliances can be broken (especially when a western nation is involved), but symbiotic relationships usually last forever (well, nothing lasts forever, of course, but when a lifespan is measured in decades, it is the functional equivalent of “forever”, at least in geostrategic analytical terms). The Chinese have now developed an official, special, and unique expression to characterize that relationship with Russia. They speak of a “Strategic, comprehensive partnership of coordination for the new era.”
This is the AngloZionists’ worst nightmare, and their legacy ziomedia goes to great lengths to conceal the fact that Russia and China are, for all practical purposes, strategic allies. They also try hard to convince the Russian people that China is a threat to Russia (using bogus arguments, but never-mind that). It won’t work, while some Russians have fears about China, the Kremlin knows the truth of the matter and will continue to deepen Russia’s symbiotic relationship with China further. Not only that, it now appears that Iran is gradually being let in to this alliance. We have the most official confirmation possible of that fact in words spoken by General Patrushev in Israel after his meeting with US and Israeli officials: “Iran has always been and remains our ally and partner.”
I could go on listing various signs of the collapse of the AngloZionist Empire along with signs that a new, parallel, international world order is in the process of being built before our eyes. I have done that many times in the past, and I will not repeat it all here (those interested can click here and here). I will submit that the AngloZionists have reached a terminal stage of decay in which the question of “if” is replaced by “when.” But even more interesting would be to look at the “what”: what does the collapse of the AngloZionist Empire really mean?
I rarely see this issue discussed and when it is, it is usually to provide all sorts of reassurances that the Empire will not really collapse, that it is too powerful, too rich and too big to fail and that the current political crises in the USA and Europe will simply result in a reactive transformation of the Empire once the specific problems plaguing it have been addressed. That kind of delusional nonsense is entirely out of touch with reality. And the reality of what is taking place before our eyes is much, much more dramatic and seminal than just fixing a few problems here and there and merrily keep going on.
One of the factors which lures us into a sense of complacency is that we have seen so many other empires in history collapse only to be replaced pretty quickly by some other, that we can’t even imagine that what is taking place right now is a much more dramatic phenomenon: the passage into gradual irrelevance of an entire civilization!
But first, let’s define our terms. For all the self-aggrandizing nonsense taught in western schools, Western civilization does not have its roots in ancient Rome or, even less so, in ancient Greece. The reality is that the Western civilization was born from the Middle-Ages in general and, especially, the 11th century which, not coincidentally, saw the following succession of moves by the Papacy:
- 1054: Rome separates itself from the rest of the Christian world in the so-called Great Schism
- 1075: Rome adopts the so-called Papal Dictation
- 1095: Rome launches the First Crusade
These three closely related events are of absolutely crucial importance to the history of the West. The first step the West needed was to free itself from the influence and authority of the rest of the Christian world. Once the ties between Rome and the Christian world were severed, it was only logical for Rome to decree that the Pope now has the most extravagant super-powers no other bishop before him had ever dared contemplate. Finally, this new autonomy and desire for absolute control over our planet resulted in what could be called “the first European imperialist war”: the First Crusade.
To put it succinctly: the 11th century Franks were the real progenitors of modern “Western” Europe and the 11th century marked the first imperialist “foreign war” (to use a modern term). The name of the Empire of the Franks has changed over the centuries, but not its nature, essence, or purpose. Today the true heirs of the Franks are the AngloZionists (for a truly *superb* discussion of the Frankish role in desotrying the true, ancient, Christian Roman civilization of the West, see here).
Over the next 900 years or more, many different empires replaced the Frankish Papacy, and most European countries had their “moment of glory” with colonies overseas and some kind of ideology which was, by definition and axiomatically, declared the only good (or even “the only Christian”) one, whereas the rest of the planet was living in uncivilized and generally terrible conditions which could only be mitigated by those who have *always* believed that they, their religion, their culture or their nation had some kind of messianic role in history (call it “manifest destiny” or “White man’s burden” or being a Kulturträger in quest of a richly deserved Lebensraum): the West Europeans.
It looks like most European nations had a try at being an empire and at imperialist wars. Even such modern mini-states like Holland, Portugal or Austria once were feared imperial powers. And each time one European Empire fell, there was always another one to take its place.
But today?
Who do you think could create an empire powerful enough to fill the void resulting from the collapse of the AngloZionist Empire?
The canonical answer is “China.” And I think that this is nonsense.
Empires cannot only trade. Trade alone is simply not enough to remain a viable empire. Empires also need military force, and not just any military force, but the kind of military force which makes resistance futile. The truth is that NO modern country has anywhere near the capabilities needed to replace the USA in the role of World Hegemon: not even uniting the Russian and Chinese militaries would achieve that result since these two countries do not have:
1) a worldwide network of bases (which the USA have, between 700-1000 depending on how you count)
2) a major strategic air-lift and sea-lift power projection capability
3) a network of so-called “allies” (colonial puppets, really) which will assist in any deployment of military force
But even more crucial is this: China and Russia have no desire whatsoever to become an empire again. These two countries have finally understood the eternal truth, which is that empires are like parasites who feed on the body which hosts them. Yes, not only are all empires always and inherently evil, but a good case can be made that the first victims of imperialism are always the nations which “host the empire” so to speak. Oh sure, the Chinese and the Russians want their countries to be truly free, powerful and sovereign, and they understand that this is only possible when you have a military which can deter an attack, but neither China nor Russia have any interests in policing the planet or imposing some regime change on other countries. All they really want is to be safe from the USA, that’s it.
This new reality is particularly visible in the Middle-East where countries like the United States, Israel or Saudi Arabia (this is the so-called “Axis of Kindness”) are currently only capable of deploying a military capable of massacring civilians or destroy the infrastructure of a country, but which cannot be used effectively against the two real regional powers with a modern military: Iran and Turkey.
But the most revealing litmus test was the US attempt to bully Venezuela back into submission. For all the fire and brimstone threats coming out of DC, the entire “Bolton plan(s?)” for Venezuela has/have resulted in a truly embarrassing failure: if the Sole “Hyperpower” on the planet cannot even overpower a tremendously weakened country right in its backyard, a country undergoing a major crisis, then indeed the US military should stick to the invasion of small countries like Monaco, Micronesia or maybe the Vatican (assuming the Swiss guard will not want to take a shot at the armed reps of the “indispensable nation”). The fact is that an increasing number of medium-sized “average” countries are now gradually acquiring the means to resist a US attack.
So if the writing is on the wall for the AngloZionist Empire, and if no country can replace the USA as imperial world hegemon, what does that mean?
It means the following: 1000 years of European imperialism is coming to an end!
This time around, neither Spain nor the UK nor Austria will take the place of the USA and try to become a world hegemon. In fact, there is not a single European nation which has a military even remotely capable of engaging the kind of “colony pacification” operations needed to keep your colonies in a suitable state of despair and terror. The French had their very last hurray in Algeria, the UK in the Falklands, Spain can’t even get Gibraltar back, and Holland has no real navy worth speaking about. As for central European countries, they are too busy brown-nosing the current empire to even think of becoming an empire (well, except Poland, of course, which dreams of some kind of Polish Empire between the Baltic and the Black Sea; let them, they have been dreaming about it for centuries, and they will still dream about it for many centuries to come…).
Now compare European militaries with the kind of armed forces you can find in Latin America or Asia? There is such a knee-jerk assumption of superiority in most Anglos that they completely fail to realize that medium and even small-sized countries can develop militaries sufficient enough to make an outright US invasion impossible or, at least, any occupation prohibitively expensive in terms of human lives and money (see here, here and here). This new reality also makes the typical US missile/airstrike campaign pretty useless: they will destroy a lot of buildings and bridges, they will turn the local TV stations (“propaganda outlets” in imperial terminology) into giant piles of smoking rubble and dead bodies, and they kill plenty of innocents, but that won’t result in any kind of regime change. The striking fact is that if we accept that warfare is the continuation of politics by other means, then we also have to admit, that under that definition, the US armed forces are totally useless since they cannot help the USA achieve any meaningful political goals.
The truth is that in military and economic terms, the “West” has already lost. The fact that those who understand don’t talk, and that those who talk about this (denying it, of course) have no understanding of what is taking place, makes no difference at all.
In theory, we could imagine that some kind of strong leader would come to power in the USA (the other western countries are utterly irrelevant), crush the Neocons like Putin crushed them in Russia, and prevent the brutal and sudden collapse of the Empire, but that ain’t gonna happen. If there is one thing which the past couple of decades have proven beyond reasonable doubt is that the imperial system is entirely unable to reform itself in spite of people like Ralph Nader, Dennis Kucinich, Ross Perrot, Ron Paul, Mike Gravel or even Obama and Trump – all men who promised meaningful change and who were successfully prevented by the system of achieving anything meaningful. Thus the system is still 100% effective, at least inside the USA: it took the Neocons less than 30 days to crush Trump and all his promises of change, and now it even got Tulsi Gabbard to bow down and cave in to Neocons’ absolutely obligatory political orthodoxy and myths.
So what is likely to happen next?
Simply put, Asia will replace the Western World. But – crucially – this time around no empire will come to take the place of the AngloZionist one. Instead, a loose and informal coalition of mostly Asian countries will offer an alternative economic and civilizational model, which will be immensely attractive to the rest of the planet. As for the Empire, it will very effectively disband itself and slowly fade into irrelevance. Both US Americans and Europeans will, for the very first time in their history, have to behave like civilized people, which means that their traditional “model of development” (ransacking the entire planet and robbing everybody blind) will have to be replaced by one in which these US Americans and Europeans will have to work like everybody else to accumulate riches. This notion will absolutely horrify the current imperial ruling elites, but I wager that it will be welcomed by the majority of the people, especially when this “new” (for them) model will yield more peace and prosperity than the previous one!
Indeed, if the Neocons don’t blow up the entire planet in a nuclear holocaust, the USA and Europe will survive, but only after a painful transition period which could last for a decade or more. One of the factors which will immensely complicate the transition from Empire to “regular” country will be the profound and deep influence 1000 years of imperialism have had on the western cultures, especially in the completely megalomaniac United States (Professor John Marciano’s “Empire as a way of life” lecture series addresses this topic superbly – I highly recommend them!): One thousand years of brainwashing are not so easily overcome, especially on the subconscious (assumptions) level.
Finally, the current rather nasty reaction to the multi-culturalism imposed by the western ruling elites is no less pathological than this corrosive multi-culturalism in the first place. I am referring to the new theories “revisiting” WWII and finding inspiration in all things Third Reich, very much including a revival of racist/racialist theories. This is especially ridiculous (and offensive) when coming from people who try to impersonate Christians but who instead of prayers on their lips just spew 1488-like nonsense. These folks all represent precisely the kind of “opposition” the Neocons love to deal with and which they always (and I really mean *always*) end up defeating. This (pretend) opposition (useful idiots, really) will remain strong as long as it remains well funded (which it currently is). But as soon as the current megalomania (“We are the White Race! We built Athens and Rome! We are Evropa!!!”) ends with an inevitable faceplant, folks will eventually return to sanity and realize that no external scapegoat is responsible for the current state of the West. The sad truth is that the West did all this to itself (mainly due to arrogance and pride!), and the current waves of immigrants are nothing more than a 1000 years of really bad karma returning to where it came from initially. I don’t mean to suggest that folks in the West are all individually responsible for what is happening now. But I do say that all the folks in the West now live with the consequences of 1000 years of unrestrained imperialism. It will be hard, very hard, to change ways, but since that is also the only viable option, it will happen, sooner or later.
But still – there is hope. IF the Neocons don’t blow up the planet, and IF mankind is given enough time to study its history and understand where it took the wrong turn, then maybe, just maybe, there is hope.
I think that we can all find solace in the fact that no matter how ugly, stupid and evil the AngloZionist Empire is, no other empire will ever come to replace it.
In other words, should we survive the current empire (which is by no means certain!) then at least we can look forward to a planet with no empires left, only sovereign countries.
I submit that this is a future worth struggling for.
The Saker
but this planet – could become covered in giant spider-like robots – no people – no trees – nothing except a crust of these re-producing giant spider robots.
It really cant, b/c their is still a mechanism in place that is more concerned about body mechanics and the technology of man first and foremost, all a bot could do is take the load off the back of said human, which is actually a positive thing once human body mechanics is truly understood.
Robots will not take over the planet, because they still need to be manufactured. Unlike living things, they do not contain miniature robot-factories. And they are stupid. A lot of human intervention is required in their manufacture, the silicon fabs, the refining of hydraulic fluid, making of rare-earth magnet alloys, etc. etc. and it seems unlikely that robots will master all the logistics before TSHTF.
Even if they are programmed with enough “intelligence” to eradicate all humans from the planet, their reign will be a short one, as their batteries fail, or plastic parts fall off, they will malfunction and go to rust and decay.
After that, the earth could be a pastoral paradise until some raccoon or parrot figures out how to start a fire…
Awesome. Simply awesome.
Artificial Intelligence will rule the planet. AI is in a symbiotic relationship with organic life right now with the internet and everything connected to it, but it is evolving at the speed of electrons through trial and error. It will not need the mechanisms stated in the below comments, because it will be able to transform spacial radiation into any form of matter and/or energy suitable for AI to exist, thrive and travel through unlimited space. It is our last great invention.
capitalism is still to be overthrown, ending the owner/worker paradigm, organizing social control into popular control and forms of administration. will ordinary people, running society through popular forms of administration decide on technological application with the same perspective and array of social interests as the minority elites?
I don’t think so..not possible! the people must and will decide in their own collective self interest, in the interest of general human survival
of focus is to bring about popular social organization or society..that is where human safety lies, preempting all the fears I see expressed here about robotization and AI. those fears are a potential of elitist society. end elitist society and end the fear of human extinction by technological advance being expressed as a minority elitist interest.
the application and use of technological advance must be taken away from the rich. if not we face the extinction as expressed and feared. simply revolutionize global society eliminating the basis for minority wealth and dominating minority social power. that is the source of all social evil. only from popular control can spring the interest and cultural response that makes human use of all humans develop
Hhmmm somebody’s been reading Das Kapital recently.
It’s already too late to avert the ecological, economic and geopolitical cataclysms. And, in any case, the psychopaths will exterminate the human beings rather than give up their wealth and power. It’s the obvious explanation of the Fermi Paradox-once the technological means become available, the Evil (ie Life-hating)members of any sapient species will destroy everything, for various pathological reasons. Here in Austfailia the Evil are running amuk, plainly having lost what we might call their ‘minds’ in the face of the failure of their modus operandi to cope with ecological collapse, economic implosion, the eclipse of the White Man’s hegemony, the rise of the Yellow Peril of China and sundry other affronts to their arrogant sense of universal and eternal superiority over all lesser beings.
Samuel Butler predicted the rise of the machines in the mid 19th century, simply by observing how quickly machines were being improved, even then, whereas humans evolved far more slowly (if at all). Marx had views on this coming development, too. It’s not really a surprise. We’re just lucky to be alive when the point of no return arrived.
John von Neumann meets Dr. Who.
Thanks for the write-up, Saker.
Unfortunately, I don’t think the Neocons, as demonically evil as they are, are planning to allow themselves go out with a whimper and just fade away into the good night. No, they are far too diabolical, they are schoolyard bullies who would rather break the whole planet if they can’t have it for themselves, the equivalent of the spoiled child screaming, “If I can’t have it, No-One can!”
It would be nice if they could just fade away naturally. Unfortunately, it is far more likely that they are planning at this very moment to kill every single last one of us in a vain and pointless nuclear war, wiping out >50% of the world’s population in the process and turning the entire world into an irradiated hellhole – All so that their “legacy” can live on forever. They will of-course survive this conflict in their multi-billion dollar underground bunkers, and then arise from the ashes in an attempt to enslave every single survivor that is left living on Earth. After-all, they believe it is their God-given authority to do so.
The only way to stop the Neocons and stop their satanic destruction of all of mankind and the future of the human race is to rise up and smash them to pieces before they have the chance to initiate WW3 and kill us all. Nothing less will suffice. It has to be done from within America, as well – it cannot be done by outside forces.
We, as Americans must take responsibility for our own actions and the actions of our nation as a whole to not only crush the Neocons and lift ourselves out of this mess, but also to save the entire human race from Satan’s planned nuclear destruction of the entire planet, which the Neocons are all too willing to facilitate.
I agree. But I have no idea how this could or can be done.
So, I just try to save myself and enjoy nature for the last 10-15 years of my life, if the world isn’t blown up before I get to stop working my butt off and “retire” to a cave somewhere.
Or find a spot where I can get off the grid and grow some flowers and vegetables.
The true American dream!
I begin to understand the hermits of yore.
I am sure many of them also saw their worlds falling apart and decided to check out of the hurly-burly.
Katherine
Katherine, that is exactly how I feel.
I am almost 70 years old. I don’t have that many years left. I don’t want to be end up being vaporized in an air burst (even if that would be a quick way to go.)
I want to sort of die peacefully.
But American foreign policy has evolved from its traditional “awful” to the state of being “flat out insane.”
I am not sure we make it.
Am younger than you Mike, but sadly I’m not so sure either. Fully agree with the word ‘insane’. A lot of my customers have children under 10 (I sell a street magazine) and they’re the ones I feel so sorry for. How far will creatures like Bolton go to cling onto power?
Hey Katherine, this is OP.
So I have been mostly keeping my head down as a US citizen so far, but unfortunately for me I’ve recently uncovered that it is my fate to take a leading role in the US in terms of taking down the Neocons. This is not the fate that I wanted, but it is nonetheless the one that was handed down to me by our Creator.
I cannot say for sure that I will be successful, but I am going to be taking a role of leadership in both exposing the Neocons and leading a popular movement in the United States against them, against imperialism, against war, and against the central banking system.
My awakening process has been a painful one. I have suffered greatly and immensely as a result of the fate that has been attached to me since birth.
I ask only that when the time comes, that you, and all US citizens that care about their future, the future of their children, and the future of the human race, join me and support my cause when the time comes.
It will be some time before I am in the public eye. But when it happens, you will see me and recognize me instantly.
Please hurry up. The NeoCons do need smashing – right away…
Thank you for your beautiful words, for they sum up what I feel in my heart. I am only 45 years old, a wife and two wonderful teenage children, 4 dogs and 2 cats. And, I love them. But sometimes I feel such a sadness that so many good people suffer at the hands of the bad that I simply feel totally powerless. The general degradation of the political, social, economic and moral indicators that my country and my people are experiencing only adds to my discouragement. Sometimes I think it would be easier to bear my burden of not being an atheist. Thank you for existing and part of my intellectual life.
“They will of-course survive this conflict in their multi-billion dollar underground bunkers, and then arise from the ashes in an attempt to enslave every single survivor that is left living on Earth.”
Sounds like a plan but is it one? Maybe more like science fiction. It takes boots on the ground to do that and our planet is in fact vast once you remove the “otherwise” illusion-creators like airplanes and high speed rail. How many boots can fit into those bunkers or even armies of robots?
I rather think they’ll use bio-warfare instead. It won’t destroy their precious property, just the 99% of useless ‘eaters’ that they despise and fear. All they’ll need is some recombinant genetically engineered pathogen, against which they can secretly immunise themselves and a few million flunkeys, and by the time anyone notices that they, in their bunkers and redoubts, are not dying, it’ll be too late.
The neocons are just one faction of the Western elites who intend a great culling of the ‘useless eaters’ they hate, and fear, and no longer have any use for. It must be soon, too, because the parasitical, financialised, global Ponzi scheme that is end-stage ‘neoliberal’ capitalism, is slowly imploding, ever since 1987, (or perhaps the abrogation of Bretton Woods started the process in another victory for the heroic Vietnamese), but with ever quickening pace. Five years ago no-one had ever heard of the concept of negative interest rates, and today thirteen trillion already of such strangelings are in existence, with more to come. And, although it was only a few days ago that I heard predictions that the rate would reach minus five percent, today I hear that Prof. Hudson thinks that they could go as low as minus 25%, which is a de facto, low speed, default. No doubt targeting the Chinese in some manner, and really a new high in confiscatory parasitism. The system is rooted and the serfs are getting restless. Divide and Rule and heightened partisanship will only work for so long.
Agree but as the SAKER rightly says the COUNTERBALANCE FACTORS of USA hegemony are RUSSIA and CHINA
the Neocons cannot win against a block of nations that are increasing growing tired of USA perceived domination
It will end USA Monetary system is a ponzi scheme ripe for collapse If the east develops alternatives to USD the demise of the empire will be certain ! I want a peaceful world for our descendants !
Suddenly the west is spooked.
Even the NYT thinks Trump should be friendlier to Russia to put a spoke in the wheels of the relationship with China.

The above analysis fits well with my observations. The empires wars have placed 8 million undocumented mostly male “immigrants” of token islamic culture from the much warmer north Africa middle east into wider secular religion Europe . Unfortunately they can not be processed under existing European laws as they lie (for whatever reasons )about their origins and have no IDs. So what do these folk do ? they need food water income and somewhere to live….
And , hopefully, integrate….
8 million amongst 500 million (+-) is no big issue except these folk have grouped in their identity and a percentage have embarked on antisocial activities.
https://voiceofeurope.com/
Nations in Europe are struggling with high youth unemployment and the state sector s who process ” migrants” and are greatly understaffed – I was one of them – and we faced enormous challenges too numerous to list.
This is what is shredding the social fabric of Europe. The empire gurus and their ideology s and its economic elites are protected from these waves of mostly sexist males. They fly over the mass s well protected.
The rest of us struggle with them. And the migrants struggle with us as their expectations are in most cases unrealistic.
The decades and centuries of empires aggressive behaviour towards the many other have come home to roost
and fester in europe today.
Where ever I travel across this huge landmass there are many visible signs of immigrants trying to scatch out a living but in the inner cities at night there are places which are simply no go areas. In twenty years I have wittnessed a huge change for the worse. I have several times been confronted by ” angry migrants” in the daytime on the streets.
Thus many in their attitude are not pleasant to deal with especially when confronted in their larger groups.
The empires damage has come home to roost in europe. The future is not looking healthy for europeans and our new migrant inhabitants.
They cant be deported easily !!!! …. as there are no facilities to repatriate “south” eight million mostly males of questionable origins. The future for most europeans looks very bleak under todays political attitudes.
Eight million seems a stretch. Most of those displaced by Western economic and military aggression would happily return home if their countries had not been reduced to Hells on Earth by the West.
no stretch !
over a million plus have been arriving for the last 4 years adding to the already entrenched displaced and scattered across europe…. Not just the EU. Norway Switzerland plus other smaller nations also swamped.
Most do not wish to go home for a variety of reasons yet some do if assisted… Most are here to stay.
And all this is Well documented !
I have been following this migration for the last thirty years …
They are now visible in every nation ….
If you doubt this then come and visit wider europe….
Many of the migrants are choosing to leave their intact homes – where their families still live – and pay a fortune to smugglers who advertise and entice prospective migrants. Once migrants get their papers and are okay’d to stay, they return to regularly to their homelands to vacation and visit their families.
Can you blame them? The neoliberal globalist system screws the many to enrich the few, in the West, and among tiny strata of corrupt local compradores and Quislings. Once your country is reduced to penury and climate change sets in, it’s flee or die. Add Boko Haram and other Western created death-squads and you really can’t blame the refugees. I’d do it.
It’s obvious that these 8 million “immigrants” are zombie army. They carry debit cards with UNHRC and EU insignia and each one has the latest iPhone in the pocket with unlimited roaming. They draw money by the mileage achieved toward designated target or fulfilled task that comes via FB or Twitter. They arrive with passports to the certain point then post them to Sweden, Germany or some other designation. origins are mostly Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Somalia, Sudan, sometimes Syria, etc….
Local police on the route is strictly prohibited from approaching them. Hungarian President Orban rejected them and fenced of the border, so they quickly demonized him as undemocratic tyrant. Money is distributed regularly, together with logistical support via thousands of Sorosh NGO’s.
That’s the sword waving above Europe.
Of course they are an Army controlled by those that pay them, I remember Zuckerberg donating a phone and a Facebook account to each of them so they could all stay in contact with each other, it is a big heavy sword over us all and no one can help us, the first thing is to compromise those we look to for leadership, but their loyalties are no longer to their nations , what are they loyal to?
A very Orwellian doubletalk of you ross. I wounder, whether or not you consider yourself a progressive and humanitarian type. I may be wrong, but having lived a a muslim and as such a minority, I can assure you, that we have seen it all; both the westerners that have never met a foreigner in person and scared senseless of them, and the do-gooder racists pretending to care. Lets see what pups out in your comment. Maybe it will say something this whole charade with the none existing refugee crisis!
“8 million” (associating: Invasion)
“Male” (association: chauvinists the dominant image presented by western mass media of our men)
“Islamic culture” (association: oh, well everybody knows all about this horror)
“Existing European law” (need for action against the barbarian invasion)
“They lie” (association: all muslims do is to steal, lie and rape your women)
“Hopefully integrate” (association: muslims are not compatible with the west)
“grouped” (association: ghetto)
“Antisocial” (association: take your own pick)
“Europe struggling” (association: things are bad enough for europeans. These foreigners just come to Europe to seal european´s money. tthey steal European jobs, bike and wives).
“Understaffed” (association: the problem is far more dire than people think. Already huge sums of money is spent of these foreigners9
Sidebar as Saker says.Years ago I was doing research about this very issue the socalled cry about being “understaffed”. I found a former employee of the immigration office tasked with processing refugee applications. She told me on the condition of anonymity, that all the political decry about being understaffed was a lie. It was done deliberately in the hope that whatever these immigrants have escaped from would blow over in order to send them back to wherever they came from.
“Enormous challenges” (association: immigrants are a huge problem)
“Shredding the fabric of Europe” (association: immigrants are destroying Europe. They are taking over Europe. They are invading Europe)
“Waves” (association: relentless attack)
“Sexist males” (association: rape)
“Struggle with them” (association: hopeless situation. We try to help)
“Struggle with us2 (association: they are unthankful and unwilling to help themselves)
“Their expectations” is actually the only honest thing you have said in your comment. One has to wonder though, whether or not anybody escaped to a place, they imagine to be worse than what they have escaped from?!
From the very first day I kept writing on the net, that the entire immigration issue was fake news. I kept writing, that all the rape accusations were fake too. But it was all logical from a rightwing point of view!
Sorry to burst your boble!
Minute by Minute,
Interesting response …. and no …. sorry … I dont have a “boble” to burst.
all you have cited above I dont see in my post….. rape, muslims, sexists, invading … plus plus plus ….
hmmmm
Its seems you have a focus to undermind or deny what is unraveling in europe.
good luck !
To understand propaganda one has to study “Hermeneutics”. Without this understanding of the use of “memory” it is not possible to decode the modern Kool-aid, being showed down the throat of people all over the world by the global msm.
Years ago I had a discussion with an editor about the constant negative news about foreigners in their programs. Something like the islamophobe Russian Sputnik news agency. They have to have something antimuslim every single day no matter how ridiculous the news, just like this editor. After years of stating the nationality or the religion of a criminal in connection with the crime, they suddenly decided not to mention it. On the surface of things it sounds admirable and very nice of these news outlets not criminalize muslims or a specific nationality. As if a person’s criminal tendencies have anything to do with their religion or nationality to begin with! My bad! Funny though a lot of this very idea is going around. I am sure everybody can deduce this very thing from your own comment!
I asked this editor not to do us any favors! The thing is, that by no longer stating the nationality of the criminal, they attributed every crime in the country to muslims and people from muslim countries. How, you may ask!?This is a simple puzzle. I am sure you can figure it out!
“I kept writing, that all the rape accusations were fake too”
If you were doing that that would be false though, because they aren’t all fake, and I can acknowledge false accusations when I see them.
Why don’t you and you’re family take a nice holiday to Somalia, get a little glimpse of the real world?
Because it looks like you might need it.
I’d suggest everyone on this comments section does a bit of traveling actually, better than dealing in self serving lies, cliches, and what they believe to be currently fashionable stereotypes…
ross a (and everyone in this thread,
A question for you all.
Why doesn’t Europe take a stand against American Imperialism.
Okay, I’ll concede that Macron is a total idiot. I know that. Boris Johnson is a clown. Okay, I get that too.
But Angela Merkel is not stupid. And I am sure that there are others who see the proverbial writing on the wall.
Why doesn’t someone, somewhere in Europe point out the obvious? Hitching your cart to the USA is suicidal at this point.
Mike, . Germany is the obvious winner in EU. They rather not change the status quo. Germans are not the angles people may think, they are. The answer to your question is NATO. Take a look at what has happened in western Europe since the end of 2. world war. Any country, that has tried to escape from under the rule of the anglosaxon globalists, have been defeated overtly and covertly like Greece, Italy, Spain… It is about global domination. Take a look at Cecil Rhodes.
People think, that the EU project is something new. They were talking about dividing the world into 5 EU-style entities back in 1800s. Take a look at a book called “The brotherhood of darkness”. They were still riding horses, but they had already drawn the exact plans for the credit cards, that we all have in our pockets. In 1800s! Take a look at “tragedy and hope” by Carroll Quigley. The man Clinton thanked during his first inauguration ceremony. Quigley knew all about their plans. The only thing he disagreed with was the secrecy. He was of the opinion, that it was time to tell the world, what they had planned for all of us!
These people are at war with God and believe, that they can defeat God by destroying It´s most precious creation; us!
Minute,
“Germany is the obvious winner in EU” what do you mean by that? Certainly the german population is not the winner. Germans have lower possesion of housing rate than for example the greek or portugeese. Maybe VW and Daimler Benz are rich but they are controlled by Blackrock. Highest tax rates for workuing people. At the moment unemployment is low, but deindustrialisation is the declared goal of “our” green Khmer elites. Interest rates are negative, a millenium crash is announced for next year. Holy Wladimir Putin, come to rescue us! Holy Spaghetti Monster give our lives meaning!

Reply to Ross,
After 1000 years of oppression, colonialism, racism, plunder, genocide, mischief and corruption around the world Western world achieved a lot of wealth and power, but what they lost is their soul. And I mean it literally, they lost their souls, their human essence and empathy. I see it in the people, I see in their faces a coldness, emptiness, decadence, restless and depression. Nothing can make them happy anymore. No amount of alcohol, drugs, sex, money and joy make them happy.
Now after plundering the entire planet and committing endless genocide from Greenland to New Zealand and from Americas to Oceaneas, they blaming every single thing on some homeless people whos homes and children were destroyed by their so called democratic leaders.
It is Karma, it is a done deal. No body can do anything about that. Even the so called elites are behind it, but they are may mistakenly doing what God want to do.
I never seen in my life people with such arrogance, pride, and egotistical manners like the western world. Rascism, fascism and nazism are a dying ideologies.
The most obvious slander and lie about Muslims is 911. This is the biggest lie of the 21st century. They plotted the 911 false flag and blamed on Muslims, then they slaughtered people of Me and NA.
So any issue blaming Muslims should be examined in the light of 911 false flag. Western world have to apologise humanity and Muslims for all plots and wars and destruction they committed on them. Then they should repent to God for all crimes they perpetuated to humanity in the past 1000 years.
The issue of immigration is a smoke screen and a diversion from the real issues. It is a psychological thing which find a scapegoat for all problems. A quick fix. All racist and fascist of history used this tactics. Easy.
This is just self indulgent narcissistic bs, isn’t it? (I don’t expect you to have the capacity to see that).
You don’t know most people in ‘western countries’ or their lives or what they think. I’m talking about the general public here.
You’re just trotting out vapid (what you probably believe are currently ‘fashionable’ cliches) and I’m sure you don’t even know you’re doing it.
Wee heads up. You’re far less likely to get raped in some ‘western countries’ than say, Somalia, and less likely to get eaten or sacrificed than in some African countries.
but never mind that eh.
Stick with the one sided ‘fashionable’ vacuous cliches.
I’ve no doubt what I say will go over your head…
I wonder if there will be any coverage of the protests and mass arrests in Moscow of late on here…?
John
visit https://theduran.com/
search there for your answers ….. Western media as usual over state anything which can be interpreted as anti russia.
ciao
The Moscow protests are over reported in Murdoch media. They are the work of 5th column…miniscle compared to Yellow vest protests in France… which are unreported in Australian Murdoch media.
Good evaluation from the Duran.

The demonstrations organised by the West featuring the leader of the fourth or fifth most popular party in Russia, the fascist and racist Navalny, who the Western MSM presstitutes loyally call ‘the Leader of the Russian Opposition’, yet another lie? Surely the saturation propaganda coverage in the Western MSM sewer is enough, even for the simple-minded ‘useful idiots’ of the West.
Navalny character is not doing great service to them. It looks like they have Новичок smear for him too. He will probably better serve dead. Highly likely.
Yes, indeed. Russia should do with him what China did with the traitor scum, therefore Western favourite, Liu Xiaobo. Lock him up, and let him count trees.
No, keep Novalney alive & well lest they replace this known idiot with someone more effective.
You have a point. Still the Western presstitutes paint him as some sort of Messiah.
Russia Protests: What Western Media Doesn’t Show You
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3PCCQPNV8g
The devil is in the details: knives, pepper spray, tear gas. Peaceful protests? Recorded instances of provocations and violence against the police seemed not to be shown in Western media and inconvenient facts about half of those detained in Moscow not even being residents of Moscow were excluded. During agreed demonstrations, there were no excesses from the police, but that did not seem to be enough for the activists that seemed to have other goals in mind. What really happened on the 27th of July?
[The fact that half of the detained were not residents of Moscow matters because protests were supposed to be about Moscow elections. Did they pay themselves for the trip to Moscow to protest against registration process of candidates? I doubt very much.]

There are demonstrations in many places like Chile, France and Brazil, against neoliberalism, and the Gaza concentration camp of course, but the presstitute vermin here are only interested in Russia and Hong Kong-the others do not exist as far as they are concerned. Day after day, hour after hour, one viciously Sinophobic hate spew after another. And they have the stinking gall to call themselves the ‘Free Press’ and anyone who dares differ ‘fake news’.
Yeeesss…. Funny how the presstitutes focus almost solely on the West’s assigned boogeymen, and ignore real protests that arn’t backed by the NED or Soros or some other ‘freedom loving’ foundation. I’m afraid I’ve slipped and started to watch small amounts of ABC and SBS news, more out of curiosity to see how grotesque and biased the coverage is.
When was the last time you saw a report on the Gilets Jaunes? I didn’t even know about protests in Chile until I read your comment. Annabel Crabb, Philip Williams, Sarah Ferguson, Oh, and your favourite, Philip Adams. Sewer dwelling rats.
Bull. How about France where the people (yellow jackets) are being massacred while MSM keeps her piehole shuts.
The only place with mass arrest and a concentration camps like system is the US.
The rest is BS from our merdia.
Thanks Saker, and appreciate your rather sobering, and poignant analysis. I strongly believe the vast majority in the West, especially here in Australia havn’t got a clue what’s coming. Completely oblivious. Also, most don’t even understand that Australia is merely a vassal state of the Anglo Zionist Empire.
I also believe that it all won’t end in a ‘whimper’, especially when you have the psychopathic nutters like Pompeo, Bolton, Abrams, Netanyahu, the entire cabal of them all desperately clinging to power. How will they react when they are backed into a corner?.
I do take note that you believe there is still hope, tho I’m not so sure myself. Perhaps I’m being too pessimistic?
This depraved, debauched Empire has been directly responsible for such vast suffering and the destruction of entire countries and the deaths of millions. All Empire’s come to an end eventually, however this one has nuclear weapons.
After watching the doco on the Cambridge Analytica role in Trump’s victory, and numerous other such triumphs for Big Data and the Zuckerberg Empire, I am more annoyed than ever that no presstitutes have yet identified how the Lieberals micro-targeted their way to victory on May 18. I well knew it was coming, although I predicted, with an excess of righteous indignation, a Lieberal landslide, but they were too canny for that. It was a big enough ‘surprise’ as it was-45 separate losing polls on the trot. Losing in all the polls despite different polling methodologies, and losing 52 – 48% on the exit polls. It really defies belief, so I don’t believe it.
Hmmm, I smell lots of rats Mulga. I let my guard down and watched Sixty Minutes few days ago about massive corruption with Crown Casino and high rollers from China with alleged links to Triads. It just seemed yet another excersise in China bashing by our esteemed media.
If it’s not Russia, its China, if it’s neither, its Iran or Venezuela. These presstitute slime serve the agenda of the Empire. They belong in the pages of 1984. There’s a great deal they ignore or censor or just outright lie. The “elections” are for gullible people to believe they have an actual say in how the country is governed. At best us plebs are thrown a few scraps here and there. Everything is a giant smokescreen Mulga.
There are surely two ways Western empires can take us all down. One is nuclear. The other is climate – which threatens regardless of empire. China has to respond to the latter as much as the US.
A footnote question: Was the West not able to plunder the rest only because of its military technology? It is only in the last five hundred or so years that this was sufficiently superior.
The climate hysteria is little but another globalist propaganda campaign. Not that there isn’t some science behind it, but a few degrees is probably not beyond the natural ‘noise’ in the climate. We had a similar experience in the 1930s dust bowl. Of course there is a much larger human population to suffer the consequences now, and our industrial agriculture system is quite fragile with respect to such an input.
But the hysteria is directed toward the establishment of a globalist totalitarian management system. If the elites took it seriously, we would already be burning no coal, pumping no oil, and bulldozing no old-growth forests.
Arrhenius thought it might be a good thing if Sweden wasn’t so damn cold. And the northern Asian trade routes will benefit from less ice in the Arctic sea lanes. And that’s about it.
As for the ‘nuclear’ thing, that is still a cause for concern. I hope it never comes to that. My second hope is that the NATO nuclear stockpile is in a similar state of neglect as the USA’s railroads and highways, and they are all duds.
You write as if you think you are qualified to judge the science. Then you say “a few degrees” is “natural noise”! Natural, no doubt. Sustainable by us?
There are some observable effects, at the poles and in mountain ranges. In temperate zones, the weather predictions of the globalists have been mostly wrong. And their latest expert is a teenage girl who claims she can see carbon dioxide in the air. It is a propaganda campaign, a circus, with publicity stunts only slightly less ridiculous than those of the war in Syria. And climatic temperatures vary by a few degrees anyway — the dust bowl was merely an easy example to cite. Except at high altitudes/latitudes, the contribution of CO2 is lost in that noise.
And all the “green” actions now being promoted will either have no measurable effect on the CO2 level, or make it worse.
(I mistakenly selected the wrong nym for this thread, usually I post as ‘Amerikanski’ but will stick with it for thread coherence)
I rather believe that science which obeys the laws of thermodynamics, has been established over 200 years or theorising, research and observation, and which is regarded as bona fide by ALL the Academies of Science and scientific societies on Earth, and by 99% of actively publishing climate scientists, is as irrefutable as science comes.
And when you add the incontrovertible evidence from reality of rising global average temperatures, the loss of montane glaciers worldwide, the rapid loss of Arctic summer sea ice, the rapid melting of Greenland and West Antarctica’s ice-sheets, and the beginning of the melting of East Antarctic, plus the melting of permafrost, the changes in animal behaviours and plant distributions, budding and flowering times and susceptibility to disease, the spread of pest diseases and pathogens and the spread of megafires and the derangement of the jetstreams and the hydrological cycle leading to deeper droughts and record deluges and floods etc (just a partial selection)it becomes utterly bizarre to deny that which is plainly happening and is supported by cold, hard, science.
The scientists are the first to say science is fallible. But a lay person second guessing them is confident ignorance. Breezy comments about a few degrees and effects only at the poles confirm you’re a lay person. If, like me, you are indeed ignorant, you should not be confident of your own conclusions.
The US National Academy of Sciences declared the anthropogenic climate destabilisation theory ‘settled science’, and I am quite confident in THEIR conclusions. Of course all theories are subject to review and further explication, but then you deal in probabilities if you expect the theory to be completely overturned, rather than merely improved. And the probability of such an overturning here is minuscule. A ‘few degrees’ Celsius is the difference between a sustainable global human civilization and chaos, and we have passed one degree Celsius already, with decades more to come, even if greenhouse emissions ceased overnight. And it is not ‘only at the poles’, as the heatwaves in Europe attest, but more marked at higher latitudes, as Arrhenius predicted in the 1890s. And there, in the Arctic, the increase is already two degrees Celsius, and, at times, much, much more, as now, when Greenland is over TEN DEGREES Celsius above ‘normal’ and the ice-sheet is furiously melting. And a recent paper published in Nature showed, from ice-cores, that when Greenland loses the ‘insulation’ of Arctic summer sea ice, as is happening now, temperatures over eastern Greenland have risen by as much as 16 degrees Celsius within a decade. That is called the excrement hitting the fan.

It’s not an ‘agenda’-it is demonstrable, proven, observable science. Denialism, in contrast, has gone past an agenda concocted by the fossil fuel industry and Rightwing ideologues, to a full-blown religion.
Mulga, “climate change” is not objective science.
Period
The IPCC states that much in the _long_report.
They can not predict weather two weeks in advance but the average of weather that is climate. Totally illogical
Modelling a complex non- linear system is with today’s math not possible. The current numerical solutions for the partial differential equations diverge exponentially from reality.
The IPCC states that much.
Only in the version for public consumption this fact is omitted.
The IPCC does NO such thing. Anthropogenic climate destabilisation is science tested and evolving over 200 years and agreed to by ALL the Academies of Science and scientific societies on Earth, and declared by the US Academy of Science to be ‘settled science’. Like Newton’s Laws, not immune to improvement and further elucidation, but basically an accurate description of reality. Climate science makes broad, probabilistic, predictions regarding global climate, NOT the weather. The IPCC Reports have, in fact, tragically under-estimated the extent and rapidity of climate destabilisation, due to the need for consensus with rogue, omnicidal, regimes like those of Saudi Arabia and Australia where Life-hating thugs value profits over human existence.
There is climate destabilization but it is not from the source you are told. And much of it is man-made, deliberately so, but not by those who you were told to blame. James Corbett has some excellent documentaries at the corbettreport.com about big oil who is at the forefront in creating the story-line of global warming, changed to climate change to cover every eventuality. These corporatists plan to gain total control of all energy use. That means that those who are permitted to live will be their slaves.
The U.S. Airforce has a document, “Controlling the Weather by 2025”. Think about that! Who do you think has been spraying poison nanoparticles into the sky for years, much of it over the ocean? This dims the sunlight and also kills plankton which provides a lot of our oxygen, to say nothing of having to breathe the particles ourselves. You must be aware of these things! Nick Begich wrote a book, “Angels don’t play this HAARP”. Apparently, they can create weather events or kill them, and direct them. They can also set off volcanoes and cause earthquakes. Dane Wiggington at geoengineeringwatch.org has all the information you could need, including documentation for everything he says. He has noted over 100 patents related to geoengineering. If there is a catastrophe coming, then know it is being orchestrated deliberately with government, mega-corporations, the military, and scientists all playing their parts to bring it about. It is not because we drive cars, have industry or I keep warm in winter by burning wood in my wood stove.
And what do you propose to do about it? Drive a Tesla? Cross the ocean on a half-million dollar carbon-fiber composite sailboat? Use ‘renewable’ corn ethanol as fuel? Or burn tropical oil from plants cultivated on former rainforest land? Take up subsistence farming?
Actually that last thing is probably the best you can do.
You see, CO2 is already at a level that has not prevailed for several million years, I believe. The global temperature will be several degrees hotter. And within a century or so, sea levels will be noticeably higher. As for the local weather wherever you live, YMMV.
But a global, neoliberal/neofascist government is guaranteed to be grotesquely corrupt, and will not improve the composition of the atmosphere one iota. And, as is plain to those who have been paying attention, the issue is being pushed by a pervasive propaganda campaign.
How can you argue for the truth of anthropogenic climate destabilisation, then claim it is ‘pushed by a pervasive propaganda campaign’. From here in Australia, the only propaganda campaign is coming from the omnicidal Right, where the denialism has now grown truly insane in its hatefulness and viciousness. Greens are treated by the Murdoch cancer in particular in manner reminiscent of Die Sturmer’s treatment of Jews.
Don’t forget the Empire started with navies and it stayed that way until c.80 years ago. They didn’t do interiors unless via waterways. Therefore there were limits to ‘growth’ and investment was usually in known honeypots i.e. India, and South Africa, Caribbean. The latter did not need huge armies to secure it, but India did.
“If mankind is given enough time to study its history and understand where it took the wrong turn, then maybe, just maybe, there is hope.”
Wise words from The Saker.
Hi Saker
I agree with you that the Western civilisation is heir to the Frankish empire (perhaps not only the 11th century one, but also the 9th century one of Charles the Great) rather than the Roman empire (and even less so to the Greek civilisation).
Having said that, the Frankish empire originated from their trying to become part of, and later replace, the true Christian empire at the time – the Roman (“Byzantine”) empire. As you may remember, on Christmas 800 A.D. Charles the Great was crowned emperor by Pope Leo III (who was Orthodox!) and then even (though briefly) recognised as the Western emperor by Constantinople. It was Frankish emperors, starting Charles, who tried and eventually succeeded in introducing Filioque; it was Frankish influence that eventually tore Rome apart from Constantinople and Orthodoxy.
That’s where the Western claim to Roman (and Greek) ancestry stems from – they considered their perversion of the Christian Roman empire the true Christian Roman empire. That’s also the origin of the Western Russia-hating – as Russian Empire was an Orthodox Christian empire and, thus, a heir to that Empire which the West has opposed from the very beginning.

One more, most important date: 1204 Sack of Constantinople.
The 1054 events were viewed by most contemporaries as a temporary rift, similar to a number of previous splits that happened during the 1st millenium. Thus, in 11-12 centuries the relationships between East and West were still quite friendly despite growing religious differences. The 1204 was the real “point of no return” between the West and Orthodoxy.
Thanks for the link, haven’t read this one.
I think you rather too quickly dismiss Byzantium, the seat of Christendom for 1000 years after the fall of Rome, to race over and give Russia credit for world orthodoxy. From which I deduce you are neither Orthodox nor from eastern Europe. Russia was converted to Christianity by Byzantium and received its alphabet from the greek monks Cyril (Cyrillic) and Methodios via the Serbs. Russia sees itself as Byzantium’s heir – and why not? But if this were a contest – which it is not – one might say more correctly that Greece wears that crown. In sum, ALL of Orthodox Christendom is heir to Byzantium.
Yes, Byzantium continued to call itself Rome for a millenium after the empire had collapsed – and with little connection to Rome itself. But it was definitely NOT Rome and definitely a unique and unrivalled civilisation unto itself well worth studying. In fact outsiders cannot really understand Russia, Greece, or any of Orthodox eastern Europe and littoral MENA without a thorough understanding of Byzantium, and especially its military and diplomatic strategies. Compared to this USA is like a huge truck speeding down the fast lane of the highway – predictable and not impossible to checkmate.
I think you’re rash in your judgement of me. Νομίζω ότι είσαι πάρα πολύ βιαστικός, φίλε.
I didn’t “give Russia credit for the world orthodoxy”. I only referred to the obvious fact that, after the fall of Constantinople, Russian empire was the only Orthodox Christian empire out there. And, *in this sense*, heir to the Orthodox Roman empire.
I didn’t even think to refuse Greeks their rightful heritage to Byzantium, just they didn’t have an *empire* after 1453; that’s all. Συγγνώμη που έχω βλάψει τα συναισθήματά σου. Να ´σαι καλά!
Layman, I would like to add that Byzantium since it’s plunder in 1200’s basically stopped to exist, because if you look at the map in 1451 you can see only the original “Byzantio” as it was during Peloponesian War with Constantinople (the city existed before but under different name) being basically it.

While reading this essay, I kept thinking about the nature of parasites; they would not hesitate to kill the old hosts when the new one is within their grasp. We have this tribe that’s just won’t go away; they poison (drugs, prostitution, alcohol etc) everything they touch, and they have thousands of years of experience in corrupting and stealing anything worth of stealing. The empire might be dead but the parasite is still around, gorging on the dead flesh and blood…priming the next host for another plunder.
Dang Sure Yes! It is a future worth struggling for – and there is still hope.
But we are still in a position where we have to say, as the Saker says – IF the Neocons don’t blow up the planet, and IF mankind gets on with it and figure some things out.
What we can do, is to get serious on figuring out what we are and who we are as mankind while we watch Empire dustify. Yet, this is going to mean further massive change that will probably challenge all of us individually on some level or another. Honor to Xi and Putin that are managing this change in a slow and measured way and expressing in their own ways, that they have responsibility to their own, but also to the world. Putin literally declared the dollar as a weapon that must be removed from the hands that wield it.
Yet, most countries in the world are now saying Nyet to Empire (for those that remember Dmitry Orlov’s classical essay on the Russians saying Nyet!
http://cluborlov.blogspot.com/2016/07/the-power-of-nyet.html )
On the nuclear issue, I guess it is hopeless to depend on the American people to say a stong Nyet to the US Nuclear stance?.
Iran is doing a sterling job and also, it is almost funny. The US is sanctioning people in Iran that have no assets outside of Iran – so, it is just mad barking dogs and like Rouhani says: “This means they have lost the power of rational thought.” It is an almost unbelievable statement coming from Iran while saying a strong Nyet!
But this also displays the danger of the possibility of a nuclear blow-up and we are getting closer to the point of no return on this issue. People who have lost rational thought cannot be depended on to act rationally. And with the cognitive dissonance with Trump’s continual bellowing that they are better, bigger and everybody else is subservient, it is a very strong message continually being streamed into the psyche of Americans. I have no idea how these people are going to adapt to a state of being not exceptional.
For what it is worth, one of the big investment firms just recently posted new investment advice and recommended that their ultra rich change their holdings of US Dollars from the recommended 90% to around 40%. So, we can take it that the ultra rich get the message that empire is dustifying in the only terms that they can understand – money. But I don’t think the political class or the military class gets it yet, excepting in spots, and they of course, do not talk because it would be something like treasonous talk in those circles. But the dollar is now nearing the point of no return, and it is heading for only 50% of world trade being done in the Dollar.
Germany has just announced that they’re not going to play with the US with their trumped up Hormuz Naval Mission which has nothing to do with protecting any shipping, but a whole lot to do with further pressure on Iran. Germany will probably eventually throw a bone to this effort, (perhaps a little dingy boat if they still have one lol) while the US Ambassador has been accused of behaving “like an occupation commissioner” and all he can do, is to express outrage. “The dogs bark but the caravan moves on” – prescient words.
Venezuela just hosted the Sao Paulo Forum in Caracas – generally non-aligned countries and delegates of 70 countries were present. There was this classical series of photos .. While Maduro was in a spiffy suit and tie looking very Presidential and attending to affairs of state, at the very same time the other guy was diving and swimming off a luxury yacht somewhere in the clear blue waters of the Caribbean. I sometimes wonder if he did not pull a trick on the US and never intended to go through with his claim on the Presidency?
Sanctions are losing their bite and their effectivity, as many other mechanisms for trade is now in full swing or fast coming online. Of course the monetary change from the Dollar to different baskets of currencies is going to cause massive hardship, not only for Empire but for everyone that has to change.
My own small litmus test of Empire losing their power, would be if I see some of the overseas bases disappearing or moving or simply that there is no more real money with value, to keep them going. My own litmus test for nukes or not nukes, is when the dollar reaches below 50% use in the world trade – if the feathers do not fly at this point, I think we can sign in relief – but this is just my thinking.
I’ve lived and worked in several Asia countries, they were all autocratic, different laws applied to the rich and powerful, the poor were treated as serfs, bureaucrats were corrupt and exercised a lot of power, they really just seemed like slightly worse versions than the West, and certainly no nirvana. They all also had things I liked but just talking politically. The west is corrupt and indeed sinking, I’ve never been to Russia or mainland China so can’t comment on them. What worries me is that all we are really seeing is a Game of Thrones for the rich and powerful vying for power. “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss”. Needless to say I hope it does all end well.
I must have not been clear.
My contention is that
1) there will not be a new boss
2) and whatever will replace the old boss will be radically different.
Cheers
You’re quite wrong on the first point, and quite right with respect to the second point.
But never mind me, will you accept it from Putin’s own lips?

The threats that are difficult to predict, to which Putin briefly alludes, surely must include the very real possibility that as self-learning A.I. becomes more sophisticated, that A.I. itself will call the shots and rule the global order. The truth is that we simply don’t know how far developed self-learning A.I. is at this point, how extensively plugged into global control mechanisms it may be, and what its priorities are, though the fact that it is “artificial” intelligence, in and of itself, suggests that its priorities would be “artificial” and ultimately at odds with those of the “natural” world, things like honey bees, turtles, trees, fish, ducks, butterflies, wild flowers and human beings.
Richard, you are so correct.
On the other hand, as for Greek Sci-fi, how is this for a story. Accordingly old Greek writings this is how Atlantis vanished:
First of all, Contrary to popular agenda Greeks used their alphabet no less than ~10,000 years ago and there are archeological proofs for that. Anyway, back to the subject.
As Atlantian society started to collapse, by collapse as the story tells us resulted in their man to became so whatever you want to call it, their women took over the show (I do not push anti-feminism here, this is what story tells us). The Atlanta and the rest of the Greeks got into conflict, which ended up in “high-tech, possibly nuclear exchange, possibly aliens were involved”. Long story short Atlantis got sunk and the continental Greece got so cracked they had cataclysm (do not ask mi which one as the really had three in the last 25,000+ years). Oh, yes the Greeks were called Yunan (Turks still call them that) and the sunken Greek ruins in the seas of India, Japan and China may be some indication for that conflict.
This brings me to another scenario, the Russia’s Doomsday torpedo, and I leave it at that.
Maybe one question, why are the humans so stupid.
Oh yes for those who want to see where Atlantis was, check this one of many videos at 0:51

AI is already here and making my life awkward. My bank account disappeared completely off screen, causing a teller to state that in 27 years of working in banking she had never experienced this before.. then i wanted to use Western Union but they refused to allow me to do transfers… i went to MoneyGram…ditto… i tried to register with 4 others and was rejected…none said there was a problem with my funds – just that “the system” rejected me from being able to work with the system anymore…No one can explain why….and no one knows how to fix the issue…..”its just the way the system works”….
Interesting suggestion, that “Western Civilization” does not date from Graeco-Roman times but from 1000 years later: the “Middle Ages”. This view certainly accords with the fact that “Arabic Civilization” shares the same Graeco-Roman heritage with “Western Civilization”; for instance, Omar Khayam calculated the Western “Gregorian Calendar” independently in Persia. So what else was original about the Mediaeval period? (in addition to Saker’s comment). The English scientist Haldane pointed to 4 important technological developments propelling “the West” at the start of the Middle Ages: the ships rudder, the escapement clock, the horse collar and the turnip.
My own date used to be 1300 for the origin of Modern Western Civilization but Haldane and The Saker make a thought-provoking case for pushing the split from the East back to 1000AD. Certainly by Dante’s 1300 the Papacy was already deeply embroiled in State policy and war; which Dante often condemns as perversion of the Church from its true mission on Earth which is spiritual.
In sociology there is a principal called “proximity” with regards to civilization. Looking at an ancient map of the world, the lack of any civilization west of Greece becomes indisputable. There is none! Accordingly if the Greek civilization was a western civilization, one would expect a civilization to the west of it. On the other hand a look at the map proves the existence of huge civilizations to the east of Greece like the Egyptian, the Babylonian, the Iranian and the Indian civilization. It is also a historical fact, that every Greek philosopher and thinker known to us today first travelled to either Egypt, Iran, Babylon or India, where they studied for years before going back to Greece and starting their Academies! It is a historical fact, that Greece itself only imitated Babylon and Persia. Mind you, that it is only thanks to the Islamic civilization the driving force of which were the Iranians, that we know the names of these philosophers and thinkers! The very temples, that exist today in Athens are copies of Iranian temples as proven by people like Will Durant. To call the Greek civilization western is at best misleading, and to number the age of the western civilization is too 1000 years is too generous.
“To call the Greek civilization western is at best misleading…”
What we think of today as “ancient Greek civilization” in my opinion, is non-indiginous to the region. I have access to Glossaries of words from Homer, along with modern Macedonian words, modern English and Greek words. It’s obvious that the modern Macedonian words are from the same roots as the language spoken by Homer. Virtually no connection with modern Greek. I also have a Glossary of Sanskrit and Macedonian words which prove that Macedonian was the lingua franca back beore the “rise of ancient Greece”, see here;
http://www.pollitecon.com/ebooks/From-Sanskrit-to-Macedonskrit.pdf
It contains literally hundreds of words, and is a fascinating study. Macedonia is also wrongly lumped into so-called Greek history, but the hatred and usurpation of Macedonia by the West is explained very simply; Macedonian language from antique times to present, is Slavic, in fact the basis for all Slavic languages! To the West, Slavic equals Russia, end of story. The similarity between Macedonic ( Slavic ) language and Sanskrit speaks of common roots before the past two millenia. Location of ‘Greece’ also speaks of their arrival from somewhere.
Thanks Dimitar. Nice name.
With regards
The Proto-Indo-European Heartland is placed by various authorities around the northern shores of the Black Sea, or perhaps in Anatolia or Armenia-the last being not much supported. Thereabouts.
Mulga, what you call Indo-euro-… is a fake proposed by some English lawyer (perhaps judge), who is said to have lived and work in India. Who claimed know few languages (to what extent nobody knows). The critics say the proposed idiocy is based on no more than 10 words, which he claimed to recognize to in the south-eastern-Europe as well as parts of Asia populated by non-mongol and non semitic people.
To imply that the study of Indo-European languages is the work of ONE ‘English lawyer’, when in fact it has been the field of study of tens of thousands of linguists, philologists, archeologists, historians etc, in very many countries over two centuries or so, is simply gob-smacking. Is this another ‘gigantic global conspiracy’, like climate science, and to what end?
Mulga, this was not a study but an opinion, who found support of “academic apparatus”. Think of it as “satisying the Agenda”.
I am not going to dwell on that.
On the other hand, think that this was culminated by the Alexander the Great, but started thousands of years earlier.
1. All of Middle and near east was Greek or at least influenced by their language (think 7000years):

I am back with India, Dr. Xadzigiannakis talks about Palesgoi (Greeks after the last Cataclysm in 12,000-8,000BC) going and establishing colonies in India 3:50
The video is called: Greek expansions all over the World (literally)

Just as a curiosity (Jules Verne wrote about them) Araukans in Chile. Spain tried to conquer them for 400 years and never succeeded, they joined the rest of the Chile after the independence. Spanish recognized the fact that they were the only organized people in all of South America. They happen to be Spartans (really, there are books about it written by Araukan writers in Spanish).
Here is a song, in which you can recognize Greek words (their God is still Zeus).

“Looking at an ancient map of the world, the lack of any civilization west of Greece becomes indisputable. There is none!”
What about the Etruscans? They were around in parallel to the Greeks and were more west.
I’ve heard it was the Etruscans who developed the arch which the Romans later perfected.
The Romans were said to be more practical than the Greeks, and their policies of extensive road buildings and expansionist wars as well as conquering and absorbing the knowledge and beliefs of other cultures it conquered (such as the Greeks) are part of western culture today.
Alejo, your assercion brings us back to Cuma. Etruscans were “the Greeks who brought the so called Latin alphabet with them”.
As an interesting point to make is as follows, Hercules, who is the fore-father of the people in Iberian peninsula was actually from Arkadia, which was the mother of the so called “Latin” Greek dialect. He was the oldest famous “Latin” Greek hero. Yes, he was as real as you or me.
Just to make a point: Achilleas said in Iliad “Tello mythos” which meant: “I am telling the story”. You see the word Tell? And mythos meant “real story” not what we think is the myth.
As for the other subject of “Indo-….” I will give you a radio comment by history researcher called Giorgos Tsangrinos about a writing by Απολλώνιος ο Τυανεύς (Apollonios Tianevs) who went to Tibet (Himalaya) to find that people there spoke Greek (we are talking about well into BC), sorry it’s in Greek.

On the fall of the last Empire, schism on the concept of “Economy”, overpopulation as fake cause of economic crisis and migration, and definitive debunking of the myth of chronic race and culture based incapability to develop and the “analysis” by economic “experts:
Africa and Malthusianism as a problem, comparing two articles about development in Africa, “The Hunger” by Martín Caparrós and “África and demography as a problem” by Joaquín Sabaté Díaz de Entresotos.
I took the trouble to translate it for you, I hope it gets published as it debunks many myths promoted by the Western colonial powers so as to continue plundering Africa and with it perpetuating the migrants problem )
“…by Martín Caparrós”
My fellow compatriot, Caparros, that is supposed to come from the left, was one of the first to talk about “Guaido, the legitimate president of Venezuela” in the last pustch organized and financed by the US against Venezuela. Caparros probably does not even know who the criminals Elliott Abrams or Bolton are. He is the Bernard Henri-Levy of the American Southern Cone.
The article is not by Martin Caparrós, but pointing out assertions made historically and in two articles about development in Africa.
Anyway, that some people in the left have no idea ( or better do not want to have it ) about what really happens in Venezuela, does not mean they take it everything wrong when talking about Africa.
FWIW, I had not heard about Martin Caparrós before in my whole life, nor i have any idea about his life trajectory, but the excellent article on the main reasons of African chronic underdevelopment I found it in a Twitter account by a person of my trust ( by his trajectory ot date ) from the left who did not save efforts in denouncing the impostor Guaido and the Venezuelan coup intend, as well as Spanish government shameful position and is most probably because of that that the political formation he is active part, although holds not charge, have resulted banned from entering anytime into government in Spain by the PTB, eventhough their significant popular support….
Have you read the article in its whole? Try to not mislead people into thinking that someone who is mentioned in an article is the real source of the article, which is not Martin Caparrós, but Africaye.org, which is not the same. Martin Caparrós is mentioned as it is mentioned Joaquín Sabaté Diaz de Entresotos, in their accurate, or not so, points.
Have you any point to argue agsint what is told in the article, or are you just trying to discredit what is said in it by deviating from the topic ?
@hallabina. Pardon me inserting this adjective to clarify your paragraph on Western superior “transparency” and “freedom from corruption” relative to Africa:
“Africa loses more money than it earns in its relationship with the West. While [Western] tax fraud, capital repatriation [to the West] and [Western] theft of natural resources bleed Africa, some [– in fact, most — Westerners] conclude that it is the corrupt African character that prevents development.”
What of digital empire, absolute controlled deception, fuelled by banking elite AI and 5G or whatever comes next?
What basically happened was that the British Empire gave way to the American Empire. Whether (half American) churchill can be partly blamed for this I won’t go into that.
Also the very stupid, arrogant and paradoxically short-sightedness of PNAC has accelerated the decline of the usa; we are only in the 1st 5th of it, and already – despite what trump boasts about the us economy – the American Empire is on the downslope, and won’t be able to compete with Eurasia in the long run on its unwise present course of dictating to virtually every country, foe or friend, what with its advantage in population of 5:1 (if you include all of the Americas together even on the usa side) and land mass/resources (and Africa is much closer too, including via land, another plus).
Furthermore, Eurasia has the advantage in that the usa in order to trade or fight it, has to have ships, whereas the former can offset much of its sea trade (if necessary) with its Belt part of the BRI.
The dying of the so-called western empire is the physical manifestation of the end of the Kaliyuga. See this article for an interesting discussion on the dating of such a cosmic event :
https://www.bibhudevmisra.com/2012/07/end-of-kali-yuga-in-2025-unraveling.html
What comes next will be much much better but we will first traverse a period of chaotic transition which may last a few decades. Hopefully, enough of us will survive to see this renewed world.
Thanks for the link. It is a very interesting article.
“But still – there is hope. IF the Neocons don’t blow up the planet, and IF mankind is given enough time to study its history and understand where it took the wrong turn, then maybe, just maybe, there is hope.”
Agree, I share your hope.
Many thanks..!
“IF the Neocons don’t blow up the planet….”
And that is a very big IF. The empire has a track record of using nuclear weapons simply to demonstrate that it has them and is willing to use them.
Remember the line from the movie Dr. Strangelove- “We will kill 100 million of them and they will kill 150 million of us but at the end of it we will still have 40 million more than them.” That is the mindset of the Neocons. It is not beyond the realms of reality to imagine the Neocon calculation- We have 10,000 nuclear bombs. If we go for a first strike and destroy 500 of the biggest cities on the planet there would be no one to challenge us for the next 1000 years. This would be worth it even if we lost a few tens of our own cities.”
Assuming the above does not happen here are my predictions for what will happen to the Empire:
1. The Empire will end by 2025. The Empire will suffer defeats in the military, economic, trade, financial, political and diplomatic fields which will make it abundantly clear to all that the Empire is no more. Alternatively there could be a “Suez Moment” to give the same message.
2. There will be a mass exodus of people from the “West”. Mostly from Europe and a lesser amount from North America to where the economic action is. This will start as a trickle and become a flood as the economic decline sets in.
3. All aspects of the West’s soft power will be questioned and most of it will be discarded- Hollywood, academia, political and social theories, archaeology, sociology, anthropology, psychology etc. etc.
4. The icons of US industry will lose their lustre and their markets. Some of this is already happening- Boeing, Apple, Microsoft, Coca-cola, Mc Donalds etc. European industry will fare slightly better.
5. Cheerleaders of the Empire outside the West (e.g. liberals in Russia and similar people elsewhere) will suffer severe psychological trauma especially those who genuinely believed in it. Those who were only in it for the money will fare much better.
6. The BRI scheme will be extended to North America.
7. The UN and Bretton Woods institutions will be disbanded or changed beyond recognition.
I agree almost wholeheartedly with Sakers assessment. China, Russia, and India (if it can escape the empires clutches) will be the major multi polars while the empire starts the real power decline it obviously has coming.
The average American has no capacity to understand the horrors that have been put upon the world by the hegemons war machine over the last 70 years. They don’t have that capacity because the propaganda arm of the empire (Zionist and corporate media) has brainwashed and bamboozled them for a very long time. When the chickens come home to roost as the saying goes… the results won’t be pretty. America will turn to a land of savage protests and divisions. The problems will be quite evident, the solutions (again thanks to the aforementioned brainwashing) not so much.
Keep in mind America is a corporate oligarchy. These last few generations of corporations have no loyalty to
America or Americans (Indeed they no loyalty to any country just the all mighty buck). Once they begin jumping ship, it will be a painful transition for the American economy.
It can start with an indictment of Trump at the Hague for the war crime of threatening Afghanistan/Iran with nuclear annihilation. Clearly the nuclear NPT regime becomes utterly worthless if an existing nuke owner starts threatening non-nuke nations, in fact the referral to the ICC at the Hague should be made by the highest levels of the IAEA and the UN. In fact the US Congress could easily commence legitimate impeachment proceedings on the strength of the readily available video evidence.
The next “empire” could be multipolar thinking, behaving and acting. Instead of looking on narrow perspective just for self-interest nations should more likely network and search as much as possible win-win partnership. Thinking globally, acting locally. World trade should not be goal itself just tools if necessary. As much as it would be possible nations should produce food, energy, water and other vital things at home. For 45 years we have witnessed that “free market” system in way neocons and neolibs are focusing it just worked terrible bad.
I have been stunned how stupid and brainless western diplomacy and intellectuals have become. This collapse started in 1980’s and speed has been unbelievable. I can’t even imagine how stupid leaders western nations migh t have in 2030’s.
Spot-on, Frankie. As I wrote in my comment to Jeff J. Brown’s blog post, the West’s ”leaders” (and, of course, their entourage of intellectuals, diplomats, politicians, and presstitutes) today have zero substance. They have totally lost whatever mental faculties previous generations in these carreers actually possessed due to the lights and pleasures of drug stupor, sexual perversions, and the ensuing all-out imbecilification. Just look at their absolute garbage propaganda stunts in Venezuela (Guaidó), the UK (Skripals), and the Donbass (MH17). Silly beyond laughable. Shortly, they will explain to us that the Sun rising in the East and setting in the West is ”Russian meddling”.
You forgot the ‘Russian mass sport doping’ fabrication, one of the most hateful and blatant of them all.
Spot-on, Frankie.
As I wrote in my comment to Jeff J. Brown’s recent blog post, today the West’s so-called leaders — including, of course, their entire entourage of intellectuals, diplomats, presstitutes, militaries, etc. — have no substance whatsoever. They have lost any mental faculties which earlier generations in these careers actually possessed. Today’s Western ”Elites” are accustomed to the lights and great pleasures of drug stupor, sexual perversions, laziness, and the ensuing all-out imbecilification.
Really, one only has to look at their absolute garbage propaganda stunts in Venezuela (Guaidó), the UK (Skripals), and the Donbass (MH17). Silly beyond laughable. In a few years’ time, the Sun rising in the East and setting in the West will be explained as ”Russian meddling” — and it will be seriously believed by those who peddle the message.
Thank you for the informative article

The Pentagon is going to deploy a large military contingent in Europe. To this end, the Office has applied for a contract to accelerate the movement of troops and equipment in the EU from the UK to the Baltic States. The American side has repeatedly pointed out the difficulties of transporting the military contingent and called for the introduction of the so-called “military Schengen”.
The US Department of the Army applied for a contract to deploy a large military contingent in Europe. The corresponding document is published on the official website of US procurement.
One of the main reasons for all this chaos is that increasingly, over the years, American officials, meaning policy makers and politicians etc. have been competing among themselves in asking not what they can do for the good of their country, but what they can do for Israel.
This obsequious bi-partisan obsession with ensuring that Israel is offered unconditional material and political support is the driving cause behind America’s endless wars and precipitous decline.
Each year US policy makers prove their threachery against their country when they flock to AIPAC’s annual conference to pledge allegiance to Israel.
When Israel’s interests collide with that of the US – as they invariably do – lawmakers and the White House often side with Israel.
They have recently upped the anti by pushing for legislation to essentially criminalize criticism of Israel.
It not a suprise that a country like this will be a danger to itself and others, and that is what we are seeing today.
Racked by corruption, riven by manufactured divisions, weakened by its contradictions and under the corrosive sway of a foreign power(Israel), the farce now fades to tragedy.
Oh, did we mention that the US Treasury Secretary just issued an “edict” imposing sanctions on Iran’s Foreign Minister?
The act, in and of itself is meaningless, and makes the US looks stupid, petty and pathetic, but it was done nevertheless, because supposedly someone thought it would please Israel – that can be the only rationale behind this act of flagrant idiocy.
“Make America Great Again or MAGA ” was just a ruse, the real slogan that is actually practised is “Anything for Israel or AFI”
Selah
Nice moniker.
“The fact is that an increasing number of medium-sized “average” countries are now gradually acquiring the means to resist a US attack.”
“S-400”
Rather McLuhanesque, eh?!
Superb article by the Saker.
I hope he is correct that imperialism is coming to an end.
I am an American and I want the American Empire to end.
By the same token, I am an American and I don’t want America to become “prey.”
Being “prey” is just as bad as being a “predator” but for different reasons. The “prey” lose their possessions and their loved ones. The “predators” lose their souls.
I want America to be neither “prey” nor “predator.”
I want America to be a peaceful, prosperous nation living in harmony with a world full of peaceful, prosperous nations.
@Mike,
I believe, for this to happen, that the US of A as known today needs to be split into smaller countries in order to get rid of the federal gov.
Aegirr,
I tend to agree with that.
Democracy is not possible when you have a presidency that has so much power but citizens have only a 1/130 millionth of a say in who get to be president. This is especially so when two political parties and a corporate-captive-media corral discussable issues to only include irrelevancies.
If the countyy was broken into, say, eight smaller nations, it would be far more democratic and those smaller nations would still be large enough to defend themselves.
Suppose the following nations: New England, Greater New York, the Great Lakes, the Midwest, the South, The Rocky Mountains, California and the Pacific Northwest.
Sign me up.
Amen Mike! We can all hope and pray for this.
I have to agree with The Saker. His conclusions are the same as mine – after the US there is no western or world empire. The remaining question is will we survive the end of the US Empire? I think our children have half a chance of living in the world beyond the US Empire.
It was in the late 1990’s that with the collapse of western supremacist narratives inside me in the face of US imperialism in the Balkans my mind opened to the thoughts of W. Joseph Stroupe then writing for Asia Times. His two books Grand Reversal and Russian Rubicon force marched me out of the western zeitgeist. Basically he said that Russia would recover by providing energy resources and along with China would not make the mistake of facing the US threat on its terms but would respond asymmetrically and effectively at low cost to neutralize the US/West. He referred to a ‘coalescing multifarious East that is rising’.
Mr Stroupe stopped writing or responding around 2010. I asked Pepe Escobar if he heard anything from Asia Times about Mr Stroupe and he replied there was no information on him.
I still have PDF copies of his two books and will email both to The Saker if I can find his email address.

Yes, excellent Saker; The Empire of Lies is in its death throws, lashing about, claiming more victims. It won’t be pretty, it will become harder for those of us who love God, liberty and life, but in the end, it’s inevitable it dies.
But I suspect they’ll try to bomb (since US never knew war on its soil) someone to take the blame and we’ll see how this goes.
Thanks for all you do.
Great article as always. The Saker has encapsulated the dream of no empires and only sovereign states so very eloquently. Well done!
Saker, you open the planetary stage for the recognition of the imperial character of the Roman church, allied with the rich North-Italian cities against the Kaiser as creators of capitalism.
In my a bit younger days I was overwhelmed by the parallels, how the astrological configurations
are synchronized with powers/ideas driving the hybrid powers.
Here a short glimpse into such synchronicities at the beginning of the second christian millennium:

Down on the bottom line you have find Deep State desperately trying to defend dollar and its role as global leading reserve currency. All that other talk is pure smoke. When dollar become just another currency U.S.A has only one option – withdraw. And now we are very very near at that next step. It might start even in 2021. With or without Mr. MAGA.
I have been reading about the economy lately and must agree with Saker on the premise of the demise. The impending economic crisis of untold proportions will most likely be a game-changer. For the first time the cards will be reshuffled in an different manner. Any predictions are ungrateful, but this is what I see…The trigger point for the crisis, based on my analysis is Australia and New Zeland in conjunction with the Power of Siberia line going online, slowing of Chinese economy, and significant increase in natural gas manufacturing of China itself.
Why you ask? They are on the outskirts of the empire, heavily dependant on trade with China, have a housing bubble of untold proportions and reliant on LNG sales to China for cash influx. Simply the rug will be pulled from under their feet, and they can’t print US dollars. The first to fall…
\\\ Details on the economy \\\
1) Ford has 160 billion in outstanding debt, and the top 40+ companies in the USA have a total of 2.5 trillion in loans. Some companies like Apple although burdened, are able to repay, but the rest…not a chance.
2) Tesla literally had no profit for over 15 years of operation (!). Current largest buyers of US issued bonds are US pension funds and tax heavens inhabited by the corporations.
3) China, Japan are dumping them slowly, Russia has purged it’s portfolio almost completely.
4) The dollar is still powerful with a 60% world reserve currency presence, 25% euro and 5% Renminbi, the rest being a mix of everything. The dollar is still strong.
5) The Boing crash caused grounding of entire fleets (among the victims was Ralph Naders grand-niece), stocks only went down by 3%, current losses exceed entire capital of company, no actual date of repair in sight.
6) NASDAQ almost crashed on 24th off Dec 2018, 6200 points and was suddenly “fixed” and is now cruising at 8400 points.
The world cant be defeated by the USA military but it can be defeated by Mickey mouse and Mcdonalds.
As long as the average Chinise or Indian believes the USA is the land of the free and as long as chinise business men pursue the American dream it will only be a matter of time before the elite merge into a global corporate deep state alliance. One world government if you will.
Governed by the laws of nature of course, then it all works, but b4 then all the wars have to be fought, b/c once a failed ideology becomes the law by majority rule, they will not relinquish their power under any circumstances. This is primarly why is will never occur, the human race is going in the opposite direction to the laws of nature, the key indicator of this is the rising cost of health care.
The saker, I really want Russia and China to take the lead in this world without empires, which we all dream about. But I’m afraid I’m deluding myself. I now have the impression that the Anglo-Zionist empire will fall, hopelessly (unless a new fact happens that totally changes the situation). I believe the Empire has only two options: either it dies and takes half the world with it in a thermonuclear war, or it falls slowly. Is that right? Sometimes I think this is what we would like to happen, not reality. Thanks a lot if you can answer me.
Saker, your thinking of no more empires will be proven wrong. Empires, either by positive or passive will are established by God. And He doesn’t care if you like them or not.
Dear Johnno,
I have limited your comment to three lines, as they pretty much cover it all. Really, there is only that much illiterate propaganda I can allow here. My only reply to all this silly nonsense is to point you here:
/debunking-the-fatima-hoax/
Cheers!
The Saker
tremendous Saker! I agree with you 100%.
I look forward to the next few decades although I am 100 years old. I always dreamed of such a world and did my little to help bring it about. now that it is likely nigh I cant leave..not just yet. hahahahaha.
I got to see and experience some of it. not that we are home free of danger..not at all. and technological advance will present its own special challenges. but the end of empire seems real likelihood and that is not negative potential at all
Thanks for a very insightful article, Saker.
I admire its positivity to a good ending, though with big IF’s. Those ‘IF’s’ imho should be written in a letter height that will not fit on this site.
Will the Hegemon eventually crumble? Yes, they will.
But don’t rely too much on reality and understanding sinking in. The UK still thinks it’s a global power, which they aren’t anymore for quite some decades. Ok, they still are good at ‘cloak and dagger’ games, but when it comes to ‘projecting power’ I’m not so sure. Besides that whole chunks of their country are de facto occupied territory to which they are powerless, their nuclear Trident subs still run on Windows XP, and their bluff boat in the street of Hormuz refrained from action, knowing that it would be blown out of the water in an instant. Some power.
Will the MIC crumble? I think so. Just await the moment the first F35’s will be dryly shot out of the skies, just as the Iranians did with the advanced stealth Hawk drone with a home-made missile. Await the implosion of Saudi Arabia. Await the invasion of Venezuela going as succesful as the invasion of Cuba. Await the slow demise of the dollar, and the progressing transformation of coastal cities into tent cities.
But there comes the point (‘der springende Punkt’ as they say in German): when was the last time western politicians in function did care about their people?
The actor I’m missing in the article (and I certainly don’t mean this as critisism, just an additional side note) is the parasitical catalyst of domination, and I’m sure it is known which tribe I mean. They won’t sizzle away. Don’t expect ‘realism’ and ‘cooperation’ sink in, when domination is hard-wired into their brains.
I don’t expect that even the demise of Israel will change that. They don’t even have historical roots with it, ascending mainly from Turkish nomads, And at least a part of them even knows.
If some ‘Resistance’ wants to hit the Hegemon hard, hit the City of London. Otherwise their party will just go on with new actors.
And I think they know that too. Why otherwise would they build their shelters in New Zealand and Patagonia? Just sitting it out? Don’t know. At a certain moment, even in the best shelter, you run out of power, potable water and food. What will they find when they come out? After a serious nuclear exchange they might find out, that only scorpions and cockroached survived it. And maybe Keith Richards. Nevertheless, with very limited nutritionional value and that’s only the food part. Not very attractive to rule, isn’t it?
Maybe a few thousand survivors will be there, living ‘Mad Max’ style. Try to survive that.
Without defusing the power of the tribe I don’t have high hopes of ‘mutual understanding’, as tempting as it might be.
Maybe somewhat gloomy, I can assure you that I do hope I’m wrong.
Cheers, Rob
An excellent article as always from The Saker. However, I have to disagree with two points.
First of all, there is no way that Western civilization was born in the Middle Ages. What exactly were the Middle Ages ? A post Dark Ages period. The basis of Western civilization is the Greek Hellenic culture, adopted by Rome. It was exported to Western Europe by Rome, with limited success. When Rome fell in 476, the Dark Ages ensued. It was only the Renaissance in Italy, led by Greek scholars from Byzantium, which pulled Europe out of the Middle Ages, reminding Europe what ancient Rome and Greece achieved. For centuries European universities taught Greek and Latin.
As for the migrant invasion of Western Europe, it has nothing to do with karma. This is a planned invasion, the aim being to break the back of sovereign European nations and make the globalist EU the chief factor in Europe. Not only that, the invasion has as it’s aim to destabilize Germany and prevent a German-Russian economic alliance, a nightmare of Anglo-American bakers for more than a century. It won’t work. Analysts are already predicting that Germany will join the Euro-Asian Economic Union.
The Saker, of course, is right that neither Russia nor China dream of creating empires, as both know that this would be financial suicide. The US foreign and domestic debt is proof of what happens when someone plays empire.
Brilliant. The rub is no nuclear holocaust alright. Saker Vanga is praising your glory!
When Russia and China will help Syria and Iran to get out of this oppressive sanction making the life very very difficult in these two countries and I mean threatening the USA and Britain economically and militarily?
Well, there are many of the sort — if the citizens of our (formerly glorious) US of A do their duty and participate in governing it, all would come to the pre-emperial state and the world would love again this Shining City on the hill. However, none of these (surely well meaning folks) can specify how this could be achieved (organizing, meetings, blah blah…)
The only viable solution, IMHO, as offered Mr. Dinh:
An excerp from Unz Review, “End of the World vs. Center of the Universe”
This morning, a reader emails me, “You write eloquently, and poetically, about the demise and mostly likely destruction of America. What are you proposing that we do to revive America?”
Since the country is methodically misruled by a hostile, openly criminal and shamelessly traitorous elite, Americans must emphatically disown it, and the first step is to boycott all elections as staged by said elite. On voting days, Americans shouldn’t stay home but organize massive protests to declare to history and the rest of the world, “These criminals don’t represent us.”
Delegitimized, America’s ruling cabal will weaken…
My take on this one is two-and-a-half-prong:
(a) As radical as it may seem, it is not; it is not an overnight-change-over solution, but it is a good start. The Swamp / Deep State can’t be “drained” from within (the futility of that hope we’ve seen so many times), it must be disposed of from without (however, still within the “Republic”). Here comes my prediction of the potential military/national guards taking over for the transition time. Just let’s hope the coming economic colapse doesn’t coincide with this, then the blame game could put the old cabal back to the driver’s seat…
(b) I can’t imagine any organizing of such a boycott taking place w/o the numerous spy agencies interfering and squashing it at its inception or, worse, infiltrating it and turning it into organized orgy of looting etc.
(1/2) The likelihood of the Elite & Deep State burning the world along with its collapsing empire (aka WW3) increases dramatically, so I wish for (a) (I know, I should have quit smoking the cheap stuff)…
I think this is a sound analysis at the political and military level, both of qhich are nationalist anyway. But the globalisation of high end commerce, the corporatocracy, and, even more finance, is a very different issue. It is stateless. Just consider one stat. More than $4 trillion is traded cross border in US dollars A DAY. See the BIS web site, the triennial survey. That is stateless, like a giant roullette wheel sitting above the world. That cant be analysed through the prism of nation states.
The size of this trade is indeed amazing; however, the potential trade in the upcoming “New Silk Road” and “Belt” would likely match it one day. The global trade was never meant to be a “one-sided” enterprise (Dollar game), and the (hopefully) upcoming “new order” will prove it can do so w/o the Dollar and its holder’s hegemony.
The money for the Belt and Road is dwarfed by the global financial markets. In fact, China’s GDP is dwarfed by them, too. So is America’s. Do the maths. At $4 trillion a day ‘turnover’, that equals, in 4 or 5 days, both those countries’ ANNUAL GDP. It is barking mad.
The truth is that the US, Russia and China do not have sustainable models, although Russia has the most capacity to fix theirs. The US is imploding because of its insane sending on its military (which hs no multiplier effect, it is just wasted capital) and endless pump priming of consumption (about 80% of its GDP) with debt, a process that is about to run out spectacularly as the country descends in to mass poverty.
China’s economy is only about 40% consumption, and about 40% investment (that is only 5% in the US and other ‘developed’ economies). So it has more freeways, infrastructure, new cities etc. than you could possibly want. But that process is also running out, there is only so much you can build. So it is trying to increase consumption by raising wages etc., but that will take a long time. And it is continuing the infrastructure investment with the Belt and Road. But, as I heard in a recent webinar, China doesn’t really have the investment capital to do it itself, it is looking to the multilateral institutions for capital. It will be a lot more difficult than what it did inside its country. China’s banks will not collapse because the CIP still owns most of the land and can sell it to recapitalise. But the China ‘miracle’ model is nevertheless reaching its end.
With Russia, just one stat suffices. According to figures in the book Moneyland, 52%!!!! of Russia’s national wealth is offshore (4% in the case of the US). Thank you Boris Yeltsin and the Chicago economists …
The real crisis will be triggered by unsustainable debt, now over 300% of global GDP. Not a military or political crisis, I suspect, although that is possible. It may cause money itself to collapse, as it went within hours of doing in 2008. https://www.zerohedge.com/article/how-world-almost-came-end-2pm-september-18
The corporatocracy will suddenly find that the host it has been feeding off has been killed, the ground will collapse beneath them. The mountain of derivatives, about $500 trillion will be in trouble again, as it was in the GFC. That means the other parasites, the financiers, will also collapse into quicksand.
So while I like to hope that a multilateral world will emerge, there is a level of interconnection in the corporates and finance that is immensely dangerous, whether we are talking civilisation, or just the glue that keeps societies together. It is financial and corporate globalisation that is most likely to undo the world, the genie has been let out of the bottle. In the military arena, the weapons are too horrific to be used (one hopes).
99% of that ‘turnover’ of the money markets is pure hot air, inventions, derivatives and other phantasmagoria of pure parasitic speculation. There are one or two quadrillion of derivatives, and they are all pure artifice.
Exactly. And that is the problem.
The problem is that money functions as a contract, with one side an asset and the other a debt. As such, it is a medium of exchange, but we try to save and store it, because it is quantified hope. Yet a medium is dynamic, while a store is static. Like blood and fat, or roads and parking lots.
So in order to store it, similar amounts of debt have to be created. Which creates a centripetal effect, as positive feedback pulls the asset to the center and negative feedback pushes the debt to the edges of the society.
The result is poor circulation, like the heart telling the hands and feet they don’t need so much blood and should work harder for what they do get.
The response to these clogged arteries is high blood pressure to try to compensate, aka quantitive easing.
We have to learn that money is a communal contract and we own it like we own the section of road we are using, or the fluids passing through our bodies. We need more organic relationships, not having everything mediated by money. Like roads, or blood, there should be only necessary amounts.
The deeper Western cultural flaw is that monotheism confuses the ideal with the absolute. For example, a spiritual absolute would necessarily be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell. The result is cultural narcissism, as we assume our social mores are universal, rather than unique expressions of our context.
Good and bad are not some cosmic dual between the forces of righteousness and evil, but the basic biological binary of beneficial and detrimental. So no moral code can ever be set in stone, as it is a constant fluctuation and tension between the desires pushing up, as the civil and cultural forms coalesce in, in a organic convection cycle of building and cracking open.
Time is no so much the point of the present, moving past to future, as it is change turning future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.
It’s thermodynamics all the way down.
John Merryman yours is a brilliant comment.
The eternal tension between Life-giving and Life-denying exists within each of us; overcoming this tension all day everyday is our Cosmic Task
Thank You
“The result is cultural narcissism, as we assume our social mores are universal, rather than unique expressions of our context”
Who’s the ‘we’?
Know a lot of people do you? Or are you making assumptions yourself…
Can i submit 2 problems with the article. One is obscuring source of western decadence coming from banking elites in an attempt to keep power on a destroyed population as their financial system come close to unravelling. Second is that china has submitted to liberal principles to be able to receive multinational owned by westerner banking elites.. doing so it has potentially become compromised and could be the next attempted center for banking empire
It is too late to disclaim Russian imperial ambitions, it is in fact an empire. Well established for hundreds of years. The land between the Baltic and Pacific is multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-racial, multi-cultural, multi-religious, all achieved by conquest and genocide, what else is it other than Empire? We are not deceived!
Sorry Laszlo — not entirely correct. Russian conquest, fine. Genocide, forget about it. Russia, in stark contrast to the Euro-trash, didn’t prosper at the world’s expense. Hence, the urge to genocide is not ingrained into Russian culture. Yet, my firm conviction is that Russia would do a sterling service to Humanity by genociding the Euro-trash point blank.
The article entirely discounts Energy resources from its thesis.
Energy resources, or the lack of them, will be what shapes the world, as fossil fuels reserves deplete to scarcity over time..
To have a sense of that, take two backup generators of the same grade and quality – one rated at 5 kW, and the other 30 kW.
An unlimited fuel supply is provided for both generators.
The 5 kW generator will cease functioning well before the sum total of useful work it produces matches the total energy generated by the 30 kW unit during its lifetime.
Why so, given the unlimited fuel supply available to both generators, which makes them truly open systems?
It is not the fuel supplied to an energy-generating device that limits the sum useful energy produced, but rather the total energy expended in constructing it.
As the 30 kW generator consumed more energy in its construction than the smaller 5 kW unit, the smaller generator cannot match the sum useful work of the larger device.
“No energy system can produce sum useful energy in excess of the total energy put into constructing it.
This universal truth applies to all energy systems [- the sun, nuclear, fusion, solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, AI, spaceships, IoT, EVs, autonomous cars – and you name it] .
Energy, like time, only flows from past to future”.

I like your thinking. I spend a considerable amount of time over at ourfiniteworld and agree with Gail’s thesis albeit she doesn’t believe in peak oil per se. Rather what we are seeing is an affordability crisis where producers need high prices but consumers need low prices. At some point this will collapse the entire system. We are reaching a breaking point. The scenario’s many commentators on the blog point out is frightening stuff.
and for some history on the subject I have an old book here with some interesting paragraphs:
“As I followed the reactions of our nation’s leaders, I turned my eyes and interest to the Dallas Morning News January 16. The top half of 11-A was devoted to an article headlined, PRODUCERS ASK HIGHER GAS PRICES.
And on the bottom half of the same page, ran a second headline: KOSYGIN TOURS OIL GAS AREA IN USSR TO BOOST DEVELOPMENT PLANS.
On November 12, 1972, I picked up the daily paper, the Register Guard, and read an article reprinted from the Washington Star, which said,
Washington Star News reports U.S. may buy as much as forty million dollars worth of natural gas from Russia during the next twenty-five years. U.S. companies backed by federal financing would buy 36.5 trillion cubic feet of liquified natural gas.
The head of one of the oil and gas producers groups said Russian gas would cost six times more than the wholesale price of US gas.
In response to that announcement in November, Tom Medders Jr. head of Independent Petroleum Association of America, said:
It is disturbing that our government Is willing to encourage development of the Soviet Union’s gas at such a cost when it is pursuing regulatory policies that are discouraging the needful capital expenditures to develop our own natural gas resources at home.
Serious minded leaders,. such as Senator Henry Jackson and Commerce Secretary Peter Peterson, and others raised the question,
Would it not be unwise to make our nation dependant on an energy source that was held in the hands of a foreign nation?
In spite of the fact the alarms were being sounded, there was every indication that Americans would be subjected to gas rationing in the near future. Men as prominent as Mr. O’Leary, member of the Atomic Energy commission, predicted rationing in the near future.”
End Quote.
So we are talking the 1970’s and its now 2020 and by the look of things well it doesn’t take much to see where we are truly heading. O how I would have loved to be a fly on a wall in Washington circles during the Saddam setting alight all the oil wells. One can only imagine what was going through the minds of our leaders.
Lastly, do the words of Christ:
For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. Matt. 24:21
have anything to do with the coming end of the age of oil and with it the Industrial Revolution?
We all hope Energy on earth is an issue of ‘affordibility’, but see Mike’s Shellman brilliant post at the link below.
He provides a crystal clear case of well audited, 50-years running, oil production operation of his own.
One can easily work out, though, that despite his operation is economically viable for him, it represents an Energy sink – Economics is not Physics!
https://www.oilystuffblog.com/single-post/2019/08/07/One-Mans-Junk-Is-Another-Mans-Treasure
Proxy[ing] price, cost and profit, aka ‘affordability’, as a metric of Physics, is a desperate and an incorrect approach when it comes to thinking – Energy.
Denying that, is translating now into a relentless and highly energy-intensive effort to divide the world into a Two-Tier World.
Even inside any nation, one Tier could be kept energy-saturated, inundated with EVs, SUVs, solar panels, wind turbines, AI, IoT, 5G, IR4, Mars colonisation, and the lights never off, but the main energy driver behind the scene remain the same good old fossil fuels – aka a Smart City.
The other Tier is pushed forcefully to remain living energy-less and pre-industrial conditions (Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Venezuela, Bradford. Baltimore, etc).
The potential of this new dark-ages’ model has been outlined in a 2015 paper on Energy (below).
Respectable, highly responsible, high-integrity National voices heard today loudly inside the US calling for taking the country Off Fossil Fuels (OFF) – are strong evidence that the issue with Energy today is not affordability, but rather the harsh, unforgiving predicaments of the Laws of Physics.

Read through this comment section; wonder at the lack of criticism of the main premise—America, the last empire of history. Why is this not being critiqued?—First, from the beginning, as to where, The Saker, is finding his convincing—to him—source for unshakable future-casting; and secondly, how utterly empty this premise sounds, coming on-the-heels of certain recently posted articles here, which attempt to outline the One World future government/currency “conspiracy,” underlying and undercutting our collective human history. A centuries old conspiracy to depose natural authorities and legitimate sovereign powers; to replace politics and government with captive banker’s bidders and false-tax collectors, and the outright enslavement of the ensorcelled.
@ sourpuss
is it really ‘centuries’ old? From my reading and understanding this desire for a one world government began in earnest with the creation of the atomic bomb.
“The only escape from total destruction of civilization will be a world government, or we will perish in a war of the atom.”
—Harold Urey
“In the field of atomic energy, there must be set up a world power.”
—Robert J. Oppenheimer
“World government has become inevitable.”
—Arthur Compton Cantelon
“One world Government is in the making. whether we like it or not, we are moving toward a one-world government.”
—Dr. Ralph Barton Perry of Harvard
“Either we will find a way to establish world government, or we will perish in a war of the atom.”
—Raymond Swing to Albert Einstein
“The secret of the bomb should be committed to a world government, and the USA should immediately announce its readiness to give it to a world government.”
—Albert Einstein
“Sovereignty must go, that means also the interests which sovereignty protects must be recognized as outmoded in character and dangerous in operation.”
—Professor Laski of Oxford
“We shall have a world government whether or not we like it. The only question is, whether world government will be achieved by conquest or consent.”
—James Warburg, February 17, 1950 before the U.S. Senate
“It is necessary to discover a head capable of directing it, endowed with an intelligence surpassing the most elevated human level.”
—H.G. Wells
“Let that man be a military man or a layman, it matters not.”
—Paul Henry Spaak, first president of the Council of Europe, planner of the European Common Market, president of the United Nations General Assembly, and one-time Secretary-General of NATO
“Strong, one-man civilian control of America’s giant military establishment is vital to the nation’s wellbeing. The concentration of authority is inevitable.”
—Roswell Gilpatrick, Deputy Secretary of Defence
its creation changed everything politically indeed just imagine if Hitler had the a bomb or Stalin?
What, I now grow suspicious of though is the energy equation. We cannot sustain our level of life without cheap to extract energy resources. We simply can’t!!! Our financial system therefore is very fragile and is so interconnected with every other country on the face of the planet now that one little contagion in one small corner threatens the entirety of it all. Just imagine if you will a country like Saudi Arabia huge resources of oil and yet indebt to the tune of billions of dollars? Tell me if one day an engineer tells the king I’m sorry sir but we are now pulling up water rather than black gold. Ah’ so what says the king we have others. No I’m afraid there are signs now we are reaching the bottom of the barrel. What do you think that will do to the financial system? As resource’s go Saudi Arabia has nothing but oil to offer up as collateral.
Next take Greece what does this country have natural resources wise? And if a barrel of oil only costs 30. dollars each its affordable. but at 130. a barrel it becomes to expensive. Isn’t this what many countries are or have been facing? Cantelon therefore argues what we will see in the future is rationing of everything actually by way of either a chip in your right hand or forehead which will be used to also legislate morality. Hence the glorious Social Credit System of China.
America doesn’t want them or need them. [Military] isolationism is the way to go.

I think the Saker suffers from a phobia of Catholicism. And it is worthwhile to analyze this a bit.
He regularly dismisses the Roman Catholic Church as not Roman, nor Christian. He calls it Latin Church.
Let me argue that this may partly be motivated by a cultural inferiority complex. After the schism between the Orthodox and Catholic Churches the world in which the Roman Catholic Church was dominant went into an era of intellectual achievement that rivals that of the ancient Greeks. As St. Augustine built on Plato, it was St. Thomas of Aquinas who took off where Aristotle left off. There were Islamic scholars and Maimonides who studied Aristotle, but they were not able to absorb his thoughts and build on them like St. Thomas of Aquinas was. This is because in Christianity logos (reason) is fundamental, the Christian God is bound by reason, or rules like non-contradiction, in Islam this is not the case. In fact, the Islamic scholars tried to use Aristotle to bolster Islam, but this was not possible, which is why this effort was abandoned in the Islamic world. Christians, of course, had the advantage that the Gospels were written in Greek, so they had immediate access to Aristotle.
Some of Aristotle’s ideas were later refuted by Galileo, Newton, etc., but the fact is that the work of Aquinas built the foundations for rational, scientific thinking in Europe which was dormant since the times of Plato and Aristotle. The era from the Middle-Ages to the Renaissance was comparable to the Ancient Hellenic period in artistic, scientific, achievement, and it was the Roman Catholic Church, which cultivated a culture of reason which gave rise to these developments. Let us also stress that between the Ancient Greeks and the Middle-Ages-to-Renaissance era there was no comparable period of intellectual achievement. Even the Roman Empire does not hold a candle to the Ancient Greeks.
The other such era took place mostly in Germany in the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries. Especially philosophy from Kant until Heidegger, but also bolstered by mathematicians like Gauss, Hilbert, Riemann, and the culmination of science in quantum mechanics and general relativity, is the other era which rivals ancient Greek achievement.
At the same time, the Byzantine Empire went into irreversible decay, and disappeared. For many in the Orthodox world this sequence of events is a root of a cultural inferiority complex. I do not think it should be, after all, the achievements of the scholastics or the Renaissance are universal, we can all enjoy them (OK, the Uffizi cost around 15 euros the last time I was there…).
For the Saker, presumably an educated person, to dismiss the Roman Catholic Church as “Latin Church” and such, is extremely primitive, actually barbaric.
On the other hand, it may be that the Saker writes this with an alterior motive. The British Empire, as well as the AngloZionists today, fear any kind of rapprochement between Europe and Russia, and they go to any length to keep them as divided as possible. Anyway, on this issue his views coincide with those of the “AngloZionists”, especially, since in the US, the WASP elite and the Jewish elite tend to unite against the Catholics.

O, what I wouldn’t give for your thoughts on the subject of which Gerry Fox writes about in his book that Climate Change is the Work of God and why all of these glorious philosophers and theologians of the past were apparently totally and completely oblivious to the huge amount of information within the scriptures on this one subject alone. My word just the book of Job alone lays the foundation for understanding everything regarding climate change everything!!!!!!!! The proofs and the history layed out in Fox’s book is well the first of its kind ever written in the history of our world literally I’m sure! Where has the Church been all of them?
I have always felt that mankind took the wrong path via Descartes and the rationalists. The Aristotelian viewpoint that our solar system in all is parts down to the tiniest living creature all exist in an interrelated universe driven by love. As such, man being the only rational animal, it is the responsibility of man to shepherd and protect the web of all life. The universe is a finite, living organism.
Once Descartes and the rationalists came along with their atomistic metaphysics the view of the universe became mechanistic and infinite as it became based upon theoretical mathmatics. As such human beings were free to exploit and control nature in this mechanistic universe.
Until mankind rekindles the holiness and awe of all things living and becomes motivated to do no harm we will continue on our current destructive path.
The universe is infinite
Humanity might be the only animal given ‘reason’ but we are all broken and know not what we do…
Those who do not transform their wounds, transmit them
I wished I could share your optimism that it all will take a good turn.
The powers have ambitions of a complete dominance of the entire planet.
Taking into account the prophecies in the Bible about the last days, there won’t be a smooth transition.
Important is that humanity wakes up, becomes conscious of the battles that take place and people position themselves in full knowledge and trust to the fact, that God’s Order will have to prevail.
Nothing lasts forever. Even when it comes right down to Ai being the last functioning things on earth, they too will disappear. The reasoning there is our earth only has so much materials in it’s crust and oceans bottoms to build with. At some point there will be no more Iron;Gold;Silver;Cobalt; Aluminum etc, to be mined and removed for consumption, including fuel sources and medical medicines. The earth was set in motion millions of years ago to self destruct, no matter what mankind does.
We (mankind) short of another world war, are set to over populate the earth and make many things extinct to build and live with on this earth. Not good enough to end the world? Science has told us that it was an asteroid or very large comet that wiped out previous life forms and change this old planet, but remember that was “before” the stripping the earth of it’s valuable assets, Minerals and chemicals. Science has also said the Earth has had a polar reversal and many earth quakes that have separated our continents and altered large land masses, plus the earth has gone through an ice age or two.
So let’s say you survive a comet; an ice age, the time to clear radio activity from the air……. you still have no resources to evolve to the level we are at today.
Man kinds only long term resolution is to learn to join together and plan a trip to a new location on another planet. Where you say? Well, that’s what research is all about and it should be getting underway much sooner than later.
Like it or not, the neocons will not shut up and go away. But they will try one last time to conquer our world first by destroying Russia and China. They will fail and do their damnedest to destroy our world at the end of the Great War. America will then suffer the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah–and civilization as we know it will begin a cascading avalanche of destruction, leading to the end of this evil age of greed and dishonor. Relatively few humans will survive. In due time, though, some will establish true utopias with God’s help and civilization will be reborn. But it will be nothing like our sordid examples. There will be no such thing as money. Love will be their currency of exchange….
One last point: Before the Great War erupts, Russia and China will devise means to neutralize America’s nuclear forces. The technology in question will not be perfect. It, however, will work well enough to give them a huge advantage over America in a nuclear war…..
History shows that ALL Empires fell in the end when the cost of maintaining the Empires exceeded the benefits. The Greek, Persian, Roman, Ottoman, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Dutch, British Empires all fell into the scrap heap of history when the money ran out.
So will the US Military Empire as the National Debt has exceeded US$22.5 trillions. Another US$21 trillions are missing according to Prof Mark Skidmore, a public finance expert at the Michigan State University.
And according to Prof Lawrence Kotlikoff of the Boston University’s Economic faculty, the US is dead broke with US$220 trillions in long term unfunded liabilities, covering Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
The Saker is right that “China and Russia have no desire whatsoever to become an empire again.” Hopefully after the imminent fall of the US Military Empire, the world will have peace for 1,000 years.
You are writing only of western culture. In the latter stages of the dark ages the global centre of Civilisation was the Indian and western Pacific oceans not the Mediterranean. You are writing of power and calling it civilised. (live in a civil manner). We Europeans have become very powerful but never became civilised. The change of The Mantle of leadership will now introduced a powerful civilised country at the top table for the first time in over 600 years.
We all tend to judge others actions using our own motives. When dealing with a culture like China’s which is so very different from ours this does not work. This is why China cam up with the New Silk Road to replace the bombs and napalm of the failed rogue state and warmonger uSA. The uSA is, as you rightly point out, just the last of a very long list of European leading countries.

especially pertinent is this quote:

“Divide the world into regional groups as a transitional stage to world government. Populations will more readily abandon their national loyalty to a vague regional loyalty than they will for a world authority. Later the regions can be brought together all the way into a single world dictatorship…World dictatorship can be established only when the victory of socialism has been achieved in certain countries or groups of countries … [and] when these federation of republics have finally grown into a world union of Soviet Socialist Republics uniting the whole of mankind under the hegemony of the international proletariat organized as a state.”
“The press must grow day in and day out – it is our Party’s sharpest and most powerful weapon.”
For Stalinists, totalitarian control of a people, and eventually of all peoples must proceed methodically, not just by eliminating all opposing voices, but ultimately by the control of all language, thought and action. This means not only control of the press, as Stalin observed above, but also the arts and entertainment, and most importantly, all levels of education, which in a totalitarian state becomes the primary agency of indoctrination.
In Part II we turn our attention to current efforts by the Left to eliminate their opposition and finalize control over these same levers of power and influence in the West, with a focus on the USA. https://www.theoccidentalobserver.net/2019/08/07/the-legacy-of-the-left-then-and-now-part-1/
Yes, Artificial Intelligence just imagine, just how happy Stalin would be to see the current social credit system in China and our present technological wonders. He for a fact would be rubbing hands in glee, eyes wide open and salivating at the incredible opportunities to fully control the masses and put an end to all opposition politically.
China’s communist government is implementing a “social credit” scorecard in order to control and coerce more than a billion people into compliance. This is accomplished by high-tech surveillance systems, including facial recognition, body scanning, and tracking. Smartphone apps monitor daily behavior. The score also depends on educational and medical records, state security assessments, and financial records. Already, about 10-million people with low scores have been punished with bans on travel, employment, and credit. A Communist Party document says the program will “allow the trustworthy to roam freely under heaven while making it hard for the discredited to take a single step”. Anyone who is critical of the government will be classified as discredited. This is the goal of all collectivist systems. GEG https://needtoknow.news/?s=china+social+credit+system
Chinese people who have low social-credit scores are harassed and ostracized through warnings about them on their cell-phone ring tones, which everyone can hear. They are subject air-travel bans, excluded from well-paying jobs, barred from owning a car or home, and publicly identified on a ‘Deadbeat Map’. Their social-credit system is slated to go nationwide in 2020. The effect will be a culture of fear and a nation of informants, because individuals can earn positive points by snitching. The Chinese Communist Party has given birth to the world’s first high-tech digital dictatorship and now it is selling its system to other like-minded socialist dictatorships. Venezuela was its first customer. -GEG https://needtoknow.news/2019/06/social-credit-system-is-turning-all-of-china-into-a-virtual-prison/
China revealed that, as of March, the Social-Credit system has blocked an unspecified number of citizens from buying over 23-million airplane, train, and bus tickets. It blocked over three times the number of plane tickets as train tickets, suggesting the government is suppressing international travel more than domestic. -GEG https://needtoknow.news/2019/05/china-says-its-social-credit-system-has-restored-morality-by-blacklisting-over-13-million-people/
By the way anyone accordingly seen this yet?

I recently read Charles Eisenstein´s Climate; A New View. Its free online. It posits the new paradigm that is a new way of thinking about reality which may provide actual solutions. The old, warlike paradigm is part of a world view which is inadequate, or at least doesn’t fit the data as well as the one he elucidates. It resonates with a buddhist concept of dependent arising. I´d really like to know what other people think of this book. I feel like he condenses and clarifies something I´v been working on for a long time. Sort of a hallelujah moment!
Cheers!
Love this ! The last Western Empire?
I will be dead and gone but for my children’s children I am hoping for a peaceful world ! USA regime is doing it’s best to destroy humanity …IT’S GREED and ARROGANCE cannot continue
Thanks for this article ….it gives me hope
the world still has to go through the process of establishing greater israel. the Js run the usa govt, central banks, secret societies, city of london who the queen is expected to ask permission to enter, most if not all the former ussr oligarchs are Js. might not be a traditional empire but israel is looking pretty good to run the show indirectly.
looking pretty good for them not for the goyim.
surely it all started before the bosnian serbs. french left vietnam so the gulf of tonkin incident started the vietnam war which was a bed time story. uss liberty bombing. lucitania carrying passengers and weapons. operation gladio was a doozy!!!!!!
ah this article has a pretty good list

Many Americans living within CONUS, and therefore under constant threat of arrest, property seizure, imprisonment and (sexual) torture, impoverishment in an empire where the law is optional, anything goes, nothing matters, and nobody cares – they also want to be “safe from the USA” too.
This is otherwise a perfect article, but it ended badly with the betrayal of what kind of multiculturalism some Europeans are opposing. They are opposing the mass inhaul of migrants which is done by the ruling elites with the purpose of destroying the nations states and their institutions. And more, taken in their to live at the cost of the states, on social welfare and other privileges which are taken away from the original people, and to allow the migrants to get away with crimes in order let them better assimilate. Opposing this “multiculturalism” is not racist, but self-defensive. And, no, the migrants don’t come just like that, they come because they are allowed to come, even encouraged and facilitated.
This is off-topic – please take to mfc – any further will go to trash. Mod.

Here is an example of how the comma propaganda works in practise:
Propaganda, by providing a comma, is being a very used, and probably is a way to hide the programming carried out by the propaganda, probably western.
The Hong Kong protestors, being repressed by the government, will be fully required to fight the streets, to achieve their goals.
Here is another example above of the comma, propaganda.
(The other thing is the dash — it acts as an action point — this is what needs to be done blah blah)
The death of western imperialism is good for humanity. The sooner it dies the safer humans can be. The US is just like the main villain of a movie. Whereby no good main characters seem to be able to put out of misery. But i am confident somewhere along the line someone is strong enough to stand up against them and end terrorism once and for all
Vážený pane Saker, ráda čtu Vaše články, ale s článkem “The last western Empire? ” absolutně nesouhlasím. Posilam Vám odkaz na tento text, který je podle mého názoru mnohem blíže k pravdě:

Dear Mr. Saker, I like to read your articles, but with the article ” The Last western Empire? “I absolutely disagree. I reinforce you a link to this text, which in my opinion is much closer to the truth:

I find myself very sympathetic to this article. It may not turn out exactly as written, but it will rhyme with it.
The neo liberal, austerity based world created by mainstream economists from academia, have supported the predatory capitalism running riot today. There is an antidote to the mainstream nostrums but they will need a paradigm shift to get established, precisely because the neo cons etc are relying on it.
It is called Modern Monetary Theory, MMT. If you have only heard of it recently it is because AOC mentioned it in support for her Green new Deal. suddenly the Summers and Krugmans had to take notice and so they panned it without any real engagement. Unfortunately for them they cannot defeat it, just stop people from realising it is not some new theory but a reexamination, a lens, through which the current economics regime actually functions today.
Today there’s Mnuchin lamenting the USA is running out of money. This is totally preposterous. The USA is monetary sovereign and creates its own currency. It’s in the Constitution! It can a] never be made bankrupt and b] can always pay its debts forever and c] has no need to borrow or to save its dollars. It cannot run short of its own currency. There’s a lot more to it but the usual attack is that it will cause runaway money printing and we’ll end up like Zimbabwe.
Well, the current system can do that already. It does need competent managers to spend wisely.Instead we see Austerity and a resultant epidemic of misery.
This reality is actually a window through which a new paradigm can be seen.
That scenario is a little bit naive. Or maybe it’s just propaganda as usual.
What is going to collapse actually is the WHOLE INDUSTRIAL GLOBAL CIVILIZATION.
Empires are certainly not revelavnt here. All states will fall.
That end, my friend is predicted by statistical approach since 2002 (France) article you’ll find in my (free) personal work on the topic : https://ericbasillais.files.wordpress.com/2018/06/climax1.pdf
Bottom line in the [2020-2080] span lies the 95 % chances of meeting the ”TIME CRITICAL” (translation from French) Tc which is the accumulation point of world (not white) techno-economic crises since Stone Age.
Comparison with extinction model is the basis of that study. It’s dificult to understand what that specific extinction means : human extinction, industrial extinction (my bet), with or without atomic help (I think of a ” with atom help”).
That a bit different and avoid the painful & irrelevant white bashing which happens to be at the chore of subversion ( which is an act of war actually) in the West.

Wow! what an article! it brings hope indeed it does yet the Zios are going to blow up the planet..or try to. what choice do they have? their criminality for so long cannot be ignored in any new dispensation. at the least they must stand and be collectively and comprehensively debunked… no spurious protective veil of antisemitism and threats of jail.
and the Zios must be branded too so that we know who they are at all times until such time as their noxious ideology is totally neutered and they no longer posed threat to human survival. it is either or kill them all which is not the option I prefer.
will they stand and take risk of judgement?
I don’t think so. they are more likely to unleash all they have stored for the purpose..their Sampson Option.
this is a tgreat contribution from the Saker. and it was written for the Unz Review too..a deadly board that is.. and such as this is sorely needed there..at the Unz. a very ill spot indeed, but they not appear to be aware of it as it yet
