Last May I wrote an article entitled Counter-propaganda, Russian style in which I explained that far from banning or censoring the western anti-Putin/anti-Russia campaign, the Russia media reported about it in meticulous detail. Half a year later, not only is this still true, but the level of coverage has now sharply increased. Check out this screenshot from the latest (and most watched) weekly news show:
Remember that roughly 80% plus of the audience watching this are strong supporters of President Putin. You can imagine what they think when they see these reports. The fully understand that the West hates Putin so much precisely because Putin is one of them, a real Russian who cares for the interests of the Russian people. So when the West demonizes Putin, it is really all the Russian people who are demonized and their conclusion is simple: the West does not hate Putin, the West hates *us*. As for “Blame it on Putin” – it has now become a real joke.
One of the main effects of this kind of demonization is that the Russian public fully understands that there is no way back. In practical terms, most Russians believe that even if Russia pulled out of Syria, stopped supporting the Donbass or even decided to hand Crimea to the Ukies, the West would still continue to demonize Russia and try to subdue her. Furthermore, the Russians remember that the only time when the West liked Russia was when she was run by the drunken Eltsin and his coterie of Jewish oligarchs who pillaged Russia and whose reign had consequences similar to what a major war would result in. Any other Russia is simply unacceptable to the AngloZionist Empire.
Seen in this light, the alliance of the West with both the Nazis in Kiev and the “moderate terrorists” in the Middle-East makes sense. This is not fundamentally different from the European’s alliance with the Ottomans during the Crimean War or the USA supported Japan against Russia in 1905 (only to then end up fighting against Japan a few years later). As long as X is anti-Russian, the West support X. It’s that primitive and that stupid.
The Ukronazi regime in Kiev has understood that it has only one “commodity” left which it can sell to the West: its rabid russophobia. And since they are desperate, they make desperate and, frankly, comical efforts. Check out the new symbol of the Ukie military intelligence service:
I don’t think I have ever seen the Ukie inferiority complex better illustrated. The Latin sentence “Sapiens Dominabitur Astra” (“the wise will rule the stars”) is a nice touch as it combines a non-cyrillic (Latin) alphabet, a reference to European astrology in the Middle Ages and a typically Ukrainian (cosmic) megalomania. Yet another proof, if needed, that all the Ukraine is is an “anti-Russia”.
Make no mistake though, there is absolutely no fear of the West in Russia. Most Russians believe that the Russian armed forces are more than enough to keep West in check. And they are quite correct. But there is this acute awareness that were in not for the Russian military, Russia would be treated just like Iraq.
In the meantime, the Russia media is gleefully feeding the Russian public every bit of russophobic propaganda produced in the West. Future generations will probably study this period and wonder at the absolutely mind-boggling stupidity of a western propaganda machine which is apparently completely oblivious at the impact of its propaganda on a nuclear superpower.
The Saker
The insane clowns in the “respected” western media, do believe that the Russian are just stupid muzhik who will believe the putrid excrement printed mainly for some, I said some, retarded monkeys in the west & maybe in Russia ?? You know I mean the stupid cattle ???
Maybe so,but since the military is so important (especially now with the empire lusting for blood),what is to be made of the RT article that Russia is slashing the military budget by 30% due to the economic problems. That concerns me to no end.And what effect will that have on the timetable for rearmament. Its one thing to have wonderful new weapons systems in testing or prototype stage. Or even to have a couple available for deployment. But that is not the same as having an assembly-line putting them out to the military in the field. And now with 30% funds, how will that effect the speed of delivery.None of that sounds good.I fear we are seeing the “chickens come home to roost” from years of not re-industrializing after the destruction of industry during the 1990’s.A country taking economic “advise” from their enemies. And collaborators of their enemies, can not expect good results to follow.
the RT article that Russia is slashing the military budget by 30% due to the economic problems
Dunno why RT posted that nonsense. The article the author is referring to is here: http://kommersant.ru/doc/3126798 and it says nowhere that the military spending will be reduced by 30%. In fact, it won’t be reduced at all, but the monies assigned to it will be nominally reduced by a few percent due to credit issues. Basically, this is just some accounting tricks, not a real reduction of the military budget.
Thanks, that was really worrying me. Since in was on RT,I was afraid it was going to be done.
Saker, I think what Bob mentions raises an important point regarding RT, whose side are they on? Clearly Russia’s, but how much? Is the liberal (Western) disease seeping into it?
I hardly read RT now, only if an article is linked by a trusted site I might bother to read one of their reports.
There is something about RT that I haven’t as yet put my finger on, something is not quite right with it.
I have the same feeling about RT and sometimes about Sputnik too. What side are they on? I sometimes wonder.
Maybe its just dawning on you- Putin is not the saviour of the world? Rather he is a pragmatist, knowing his country’s weaknesses and pulling back when things get too hot. RT and Sputnik have at least a quarter of their articles which could be called Anti-Russian.
I think RT/Sputnik are doing very well in an extremely difficult situation, which is that the West is pretty much a totalitarian dictatorship, certainly what the media is concerned. It’s impossible for Russia (or Iran) to tell the entire truth, because they’d obviously get into trouble if they did so. So they’ve to compromise, which includes ‘leftist/liberal’ articles.
Me too.
It is no different on social issues to Western Liberal media (has almost the identical tropes as the British Guardian).
The only real difference is in its reporting on Syria or RF MOD.
It presumably has to, otherwise it would not be funded:that is its raison d’être.
It’s comments section was formerly run by a Kolomoisky affiliate and now by an Israeli firm.
It also carries a lot of Reuters stuff.
Ps Herb; it would be great to be able to check the comment before posting as previously: I can no longer scroll through to check for typos.
Or is it just me?
I have been looking for a solution. Have not found the same feature yet. This is what I wrote elsi about possible workarounds:
/the-russian-media-just-loves-the-campaign-to-demonize-putin/comment-page-1/#comment-290524
Let me know if any of these work for you.
Herb
Thanks.
Reading other commenters, it seems to be a general prob.
I feel same, hundreds of times I have posted on Sputnik to quit calling the Syrian invasion, a “civil war”, yet they continue to do it, mimicking the western narrative of calling foreign terrorist mercenaries “Syrian rebels”. Disgusting groveling to false western narratives.
@ Uncle Bob
“A country taking economic “advise” from their enemies. And collaborators of their enemies, can not expect good results to follow”
It reminds me of similar advice given by US economic experts to a European country I visited in 1994, which will remain unnamed but the most perspicacious readers might recognize.
The expert team was led by a prestigious economist whose name does not come to mind and the brief was to map out the future direction of the economy as a whole. The country had a significant light industry and some heavy engineering such as shipbuilding and machinery and was almost food self-sufficient.
The US experts findings and recommendations was that the country was not suitable for agriculture (it had fed itself for a thousand years at least) and should instead convert all agricultural land to tree plantations; the local industry (especially shipbuilding) was to be dismantled or discouraged by fiscal intervention.
Any sane non-expert person would say that the report was plain crap and no fees paid to the authors; but not the government who contracted the experts. The advice was followed to the letter, the country was transformed into an eucalyptus plantations, the shipyards closed as did most industrial plants, most of the food is imported, the balance of trade deficit became unsustainable (external debit skyrocketed) and a long list of misfortunes including unemployment followed. The sordid affair ended with the prime-minister receiving the reward of heading the EU Commission and now is a director of Goldman Sachs while the country is on its knees and up to its neck in debt.
Every single piece of advice only made sense if one looks at the consequences and who benefits from it. Convert countries to single crop production and dependence on trade and debt slavery.
Any such report should be paid for and acted upon only under stringent conditions. (1) The report includes concrete and easily verifiable methods for confirming whether or not its implementation is having the predicted results; (2) the authors of the report will be liable for all financials shortfalls relative to the predicted results, and all consequential harm.
If the authors are not good for those sums, the report should be ceremonially burned (with those compelled to be present given clothes pegs to wear on their noses), no payment given for it, and its contents ignored.
From global power to American owned serf state- Portugal was better under Salazar.
From what I have read -and that’s lots – Russia IS industrialized; deliberately and expertly in the specific field of top-grade technology which will defeat an attacker; whereas the USA and it’s lackies are concentrating on anything and everything that will make the financial elite and Military Industrial Complex RICHER. The poor canon-fodder at the front? …. they have no bloody idea why they are “over there”.
Uncle Bob,
I recently read an article at global research that the Pentagram of death in DC is shocked at the sophistication of Russian military technology with such a small budget. Russia’s modernization has been done off budget, hidden from the West. RT is just supporting the continued ruse that Russia spends little on it’s military.
They should be shocked,or surprised is probably a better word.I’m extremely impressed with the weapons systems developed (and being developed) in Russia. My only concern is 1.are they complete and readily available for use. And 2.that they keep going, and quickly. Some of the systems I read about in articles, say they will come on line for actual military use (in numbers) in 2018 or even 2020 or 2025. But its 2017 I’m the most worried over. If Clinton wins the election, there is a real chance she will make her moves towards conflict in 2017.
One reason for Russia’s very cautious and gradual escalation (and de-escalation) in Syria is because Russia is using the opportunity to test its weapon systems on real live US aircraft. It is a fantastic opportunity and Russia aren’t wasting it.
Soon Trump will be elected and there will be peace and the rapid and peaceful dismantling of the liberal world order will really pick up speed, or Hillary will be elected, and war is the most likely outcome, a limited war or a global war or a nuclear war? Hard to say, but I have a hard time seeing how a limited war can be stopped from escalating, US will not stop because their leaders are demented and Russia cannot stop because it would mean her destruction to submit to USA.
All we can do is hope and hope for a Trump election victory. And there are a few good signs, Hillary ratings has been plummeting the last few days, and Trump is actually beating her in establishment polling now, a further positive sign is that these polls are done by calling, and many people would not admit to voting Trump to a stranger on the phone, as they would be risking their life and jobs doing so.. So likely the Trump vote is underestimated, another factor is Hillary has the support of the supermajority of blacks and hispanics, and while these say they will vote Hillary when they are called, in practice on voting day they wont bother to go, whites on the otherhand which mostly support Trump has the best voting record, and finally there is the energy factor, nobody has any energy to vote for Hillary, nobody likes her, not even democrats. As opposed to Trump voters which are highly energized and likely will go and vote. So for those of you that despair, there is still hope.
Here is a bit of an interesting map on voting patterns based on sex and race and education.
https://www.motherjones.com/files/if-only-original630.png
I hope you may be right!
Could anyone explain to me “the silence” of the Republican party? where is MacCain??
are they “all in together” or not? or did they decide to let Trump move alone, pretending they did not support him, but instead working with FBI?
McCain is probably on one if his many visits to Israel, ‘consulting’ with Benyamin Netanyahu and using his senior position in the US Senate to endorse Zionist excesses.
He and Lindsey Graham masquerade as patriots, but are 2 of the most disloyal
Americans ever.
Graham was in Israel recently lamenting the paltry US$ 38B aid package that the Obama adminstration negotiated with
Israel.
He said Israel deserved more and he vowed that he would ensure that more money is found and allocated:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/wp/2016/09/14/graham-wants-to-give-more-money-to-israel-flouting-deal-with-obama/?0p19G=c
Israel did 9/11. All evidence is easily available now. Almost full control of US banking and media. All of these wars, real and economic, are Zionest wars.
On the other hand, read what Assange said today – that Trump will “not be permitted” to implement any of his be-nice-to-Russia ideas. IN FACT – where in H–l does anyone get the idea that the US president is autonomous?
Quite right. Tweedledee-Tweedledum. What’s the point of elections? Public show for “democracy”!
Where in H-l does anyone get the idea that the US Presidency is not autonomous? Assange is correct.
I daresay that Hillary has Lost the race for the presidency the polls that have been skewed in favor of the witch have now changed into a race that is even. Now why is that :that is the question that any astute observers should be asking ?The duopolistic system which comprises American Democracy is being threatened with collapse if the election is rigged .The elites can’t chance this outcome ;too many people are aware of this ploy. What the elites are vying for now is Time .They will manipulate Mr. Trump with every dirty trick in the book in order to maintain their Freeloader Status .After all this class of Freeloaders has been milking the citizens now for hundreds of years and their kids need things like private jets and yachts along with the dummy’s serving as servants.
Have you heard about the coup in the FBI? An ex-offical has announced a coup in USA internal security services against Hillary. His statement has already gotten 1.2 million views.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ov5kvWSz5LM
Nice if it were true, and it may very well be that there is major dissension in the ranks, but Steve Pieczenik’s track record is less than stellar.
Less than stellar?
I’ve been reading about Steve on and off for years, and I can only say good things about him. Maybe he gets some things wrong – is that what you are referring to? – but who doesn’t? Otherwise what?
Also, considering he is a Jew, and I say a very very good one – he’s not a neocon – he has also been criticial of the USGs over the years.
P.S. I watched that video yesterday, when it had only about 640 000 views, so it’s doing really well.
Just saw this about the “war” between the Clinton partisan hacks at the Department of Injustice and the patriots at the FBI.

Sorry to keep posting but found one more link that, while even more dubious, I hope is true (not that the bad stuff happened, but that bad stuff that happened will be revealed). This is explosive if true:

I heard that Trump is protected by CIA, CIA are after to get Hillary.
“As long as X is anti-Russian, the West support X. It’s that primitive and that stupid.“. Did UK support the Nazis, or Stalin? Ahh, guess this formulation doesn’t work.
Let’s try one that does.
As long as X is not subject to the Empire, the Empire opposes X.
That one even explains the love for Russia during the Yeltsin years, the hatred for Iran, the hatred for Hezbollah, etc., etc.
Much simpler, and less paranoid.
@ CalDre
“Did UK support the Nazis, or Stalin? Ahh, guess this formulation doesn’t work.”
It does work. England supported Nazi Germany to the hilt up to 1939 hoping to steer Hitler to the East. The Soviet Union was trying for years to enter into a defensive alliance with France and England to, at least, deter Germany from opening hostilities and was rebuffed all the way until Molotov was sent urgently to Berlin to negotiate a non-aggression pact. England did not help an iota and only entered the war seriously when the Red Army was on its way to Berlin.
Not to really argue with your basic point but your statement that
“England did not help an iota and only entered the war seriously when the Red Army was on its way to Berlin.”
Is well wide of the mark. The British army lost an enormous amount of material in the battle for France and the army itself only escaped because of German complacency at Dunkirk. The Luftwaffe was well on its way to establishing air superiority over the channel until their target was changed from the airfields to London. I reckon after the attack on France we did as much as we were able to do.
It is a bit more complicated than that. Have a look at ‘The Episodes’ (the numbered ones) at http://orientalreview.org/category/the-episodes/
@ rincewind
Thank you for the link. Very good source of historical events.
@ MarkU
“British… army itself only escaped because of German complacency at Dunkirk.”
No doubt the British army did its bit but not as much as it could have done and Dunkirk was part of the original BEF plan, which makes sense from a military point of view.
There are still arguments today whether the British army escape was due to German complacency or a clear intention to let it escape. I don’t buy the complacency argument because it is nonsensical. Hitler never hid his admiration for England, a brother nation, and never gave up his idea of forming an alliance with or at least a neutrality to enable him to go east unhindered from the west. Churchill was making public statements against fascism but secretly was dangling the neutrality carrot to Hitler long after Barbarossa. Dunkirk is proof of that policy because, had the German army destroyed the BEF at Dunkirk, Hitler’s plan of “friendship” with England would be curtains.
Take a look at this essentially pro netanyahoo propaganda piece at RT:
Israeli paper claims ‘paranoid’ Netanyahu feared US super-software was rigging votes on election day
https://www.rt.com/news/365152-israel-netanyahu-election-rigging-us/
The israeli propaganda rag haaretz is the flagship outfit that determines what the zio-colonial rags write (guardian, nyt, wash. post. etc.)
The gist is poor netanyahoo, the obama/clinton’s are out to get him. This is bs, total zionazi bs.
The netanyahoo freak show is neocon overdrive, was from the beginning. The clinton freakshow machine is mostly sucking the same disgusting headcheese that keeps the netanyahoo freak in power in israel.
“The Latin sentence “Sapiens Dominabitur Astra” (“the wise will rule the stars”) is a nice touch as it combines a non-cyrillic (Latin) alphabet, a reference to European astrology in the Middle Ages and a typically Ukrainian (cosmic) megalomania.”
Well that sure is powerful stuff. Visceral in fact.
For a moment I wasn’t sure whether I was going to burst out laughing or throw up.
You want to laugh more?
Whoever suggested that symbol doesn’t know the old Russian tales about Koschei the immortal, or at least the Soviet cartoons based on them. Have a look here: https://youtu.be/sa1Ezj3Ym8g?t=15m37s
Couldn’t be more fitting :)
Thank you rincewind. That was very amusing and yes, most befitting.
that symbolism is clear freemasonary. you will find it on russian symbols as well. just hidden more clever. so do not mistake folks. you are all played with.
It was JFK who once said that ” … Do not put your adversary in a position where his alternatives are either humiliating retreat or nuclear war.” I think I have got the quote correct. But this is exactly the position that the Americans have got themselves into. The irresistible force has met the immovable object. This lunatic foreign policy, the pursuit of a global empire, pushed by the neo-con clique, with the total compliance of the mass media, Congress, and the deep state, is leading to a fearful denouement for them and the rest of the world. Russia will not, and cannot, retreat any further, nor can that matter can China. So the choice becomes just such a humiliating retreat,or a conflict which can easily escalate into a nuclear war. Putin needs to offer the maniacs a way out in the same way as he did way the poison gas issue; he seems the only one who can get America and the west off the hook on which they are presently impaled.
@ Frank
“Putin needs to offer the maniacs a way out in the same way as he did way the poison gas issue; he seems the only one who can get America and the west off the hook on which they are presently impaled.”
And why, would you please, does Mr Putin need to rescue megalomaniacs (MMs) from their doom? Of course, the easy answer is, if he doesn’t we’ll get vaporised. When will that stop? They start another one somewhere and we are back in square one on the verge of another calamity and having to ask again Chevalier Vladimir in his shining armour to come to the rescue of the megalomaniacs, ad nauseam. Russia may get some valuable time to get its armed forces modernized but I don’t think the Pentagon will remain idle meanwhile.
Syria is the defining moment for Russia. The MMs have many ways out of the quagmire – like doing what they have agreed to do – but for Russia Syria is a red line because, if it retreats, Iran will be the next, the Zionists will realize their Greater Israel dream and becoming the uncontested regional superpower (why not going the whole hog and conquer all Arab lands?) and the current conflict will be magnified many times over.
Russia has enough military power to restrict a possible conflict with the Anglozionists to Syria and, to prevent EuNato’s ideas of interfering, just a few salvos will be enough to give them a clear message. Go Russia!
Though I am not in the least surprised by the hatred which the West shows toward Russia, I do find it particularly amusing how the West always seems to find a method of changing the reasons for why they hate it. The worst thing that can happen to a person’s (or nation’s, civilization’s, etc.) identity is when they define themselves by their hatred and opposition towards something which they do not even understand. This fear of the unknown is irascible and yet, they are perfectly content with rationalizing it and continuing along their merry way as though it is something normal.
However, the consequences of this irascible fear and hatred are always manifested on the very object of hatred and fear which
deserves such treatment that is meted upon it, because its very existence is an eyesore for the one who projects this hatred. How can we (Orthodox, Muslims, etc.) liberate ourselves from these Western lies and devote our lives and our minds towards a more constructive and fruitful future, one that is not defined and guided by the results of the West’s intense animosity?
P.S. As a sideline, although this happened about a half a month ago, are there any opinions concerning the supposed terrorist plot which was allegedly conducted by Serbia against Montenegro?
Ukraine is a bottomless pit of fakery, a parody of a state lost in imbecility. How can anyone take it seriously? Puke.
The Clinton Foundation’s biggest donor? A Ukrainian oligarch.
Wikileaks latest dump shows Ukraine oligarch Victor Pinchuk involved in pay-to-play exchange with The Clinton Foundation.
That’s a top Nazi. So is Hitlery. Huma is a top ISIS (Saudi) agent. All the same (rel.) mob. Rothschild agent Hitler was one of the main founders of ‘Israel’.
‘The Latin sentence “Sapiens Dominabitur Astra” (“the wise will rule the stars”)…’
Actually not. The maxim really means “the wise will be ruled by the stars”, and is a reference to the importance of astrology. So it’s very appropriate for the Kiev mob and their Washington keepers.
Looking at the maxim, it strikes me that it’s not even grammatical. The correct version would be “Sapiens dominabitur astris”.
Looking closely at the photo, I think that actually is what it says.
It’s a direct, unapologetic reference to the Masonic Order of the Golden Dawn.
https://heterodoxology.com/2011/10/22/who-was-fraulein-sprengel-new-evidence-on-the-origin-of-the-golden-dawn-or-vale-soror-ave-frater/
It is a mistake to assume stupidity, even from the US/NATO military industrial political complex. If it is so obvious that their propaganda is ineffectual against Russians, then it should be assumed that it is not aimed at Russians, it is aimed entirely against their own populations. They are softening up public opinion for war, it is not a bluff (everyone knows about the Nixon doctrine) they are really going to do it. The Western oligarchs are well behind schedule (they were going to knock over 7 countries in 5 years remember, and they shafted their own economies to fund it) the whole Western banking system is about to collapse and rather than relinquish power, they are going to try one more insane spin of the wheel to stay on top.
Until people truly grasp that last point and understand that they will die as a result, no meaningful opposition to their insane policy is likely to exist. Even a totally ‘successful’ nuclear first strike on the RF would still result in a nuclear winter which would doom the majority of the human race.
Propaganda for the kids:
On the airwaves of the German radio station Deutschlandfunk, there is a children’s program, “Cockatoo,” which relays news about international affairs to children, including news about Russia. However the quality of coverage leaves much to be desired.
The following message aired on October 19, Sputnik Germany reports. © PHOTO: YOUTUBE/ SECURE AMERICA ‘Welcome to the Islamic State of Germany’: Video Stirs Tensions Over Migrant Crisis “Russian President Putin is waging two wars now: in Ukraine and in Syria. German Chancellor Merkel and French President Hollande want to make Putin stop the wars. But it seems like it does not work, because Putin does not observe international rules. He thinks that he should extend Russian influence throughout the world by all means, including wars. German Chancellor Merkel and French President Hollande repeated many times that Putin seriously violates human rights in Syria.”

God, that really is gross!
Not that gross! They are doing it to adults as well in more plain language.
As a human being it shames me to witness the constant, obsessively pathological expression of hatred so profound. That dagger pointed at the heart of Russia by people who owe so much to Russians I find obscene.
That said, the Empire’s propaganda having become unquestionably farcical of late, it is true that the only healthy reaction is for those targeted to burst out laughing, as so many Russians still manage to do.
Yet the dangers of total war remain real, substantial, and frightening. Hysterical threats, unceasing aggression and renewed occurrences of acts of war can neither be ignored, nor lightly dismissed. They must be, and are taken very seriously. That is why, every day, I keep on admiring Russians for their fortitude at still displaying such an exquisite sense of humour. They thus show the world how strong is the Russian soul.
That should give the last Empire and its vassals pause. Beware, all, the moment Russians will no longer laugh, finding your farce funny no longer! Better you not experience the long-delayed, irresistible anger of that exceptionally patient people. Precedents speak for themselves most eloquently!
Even more amusingly, the bird sybol is very reminiscent of the Nazi eagle
http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2006/02/11/nazieagle_wideweb__470x305%2C0.jpg
and Astra is the name of a brand of Nazi (+German) weapons
Astra was a Spanish weapons manufacturer.
The Astra Constable was an improved version of the German Walther PPK, and bore a strong resemblance to the German pistol. It sometimes confuses people.
The Astra 400 pistol was a model manufactured by the enterprise Unceta and Cía at Gernika and so, it was one of the few buildings were respected by the Condor Legion to take over the production of these weapons.
Quoted from Wikipedia:
“The Astra 400 was a gun produced by the Spanish company Astra, Unceta and CIA, as a replacement for the Campo Giro, which also used the cartridge 9 mm Lenght. It was the standard sidearm of the Popular Army of the Republic during the Spanish Civil War and was also used by the German armed forces during World War II.
This gun was mass produced and today there are still many copies. The Spanish Armada, along with the Luftwaffe and the Chilean Navy mainly used the smaller variant Astra 300, while the Wehrmacht changed the Astra 400 to Astra 600 in order to better support the cartridge 9 x 19 Parabellum. The Astra 400 is considered a heavy gun to control the power of cartridge 9 x 23 length in a recoil operated mechanism. It has a reinforced slide and a strong spring recovery.”
https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astra_400
Really, Nazis bombed all Gernika BUT the factories, no one was bombed (to take the production). Gernika bombing was a criminal attack on civil population, with no military or strategic-economic aim.
As for Astra, Unceta and CIA; the owner of the factory were collaborators of the fascist side. Our govt was stupid not taking the factory over.
Add to this the Roman eagle and the USA eagle….
As much as they hate Russia, ironically the Ukie military intelligence symbol shows the map of Russia. Seems like everything they do is measured relative to Russia. They need to realize that they can’t imagine their existence without Russia. Without Russia, their hate has no meaning, no projection. Self hate really.
I suppose that symbol is made in the U.S.
Its style is the same style as the logos of organisations of the U.S. military and other state services.
Also the symbolism is not primarily related to Ukraine but to the U.S. (the location of the owl with the dagger) and Russia (to whose heart the dagger is pointed at.
Next time please provide a translation (minus the cursing) Thanks! The Saker
https://lenta.ru/news/2016/10/30/multfilm/
But, it´s a pity that the Russian people thinks that, in general, people in the West hates them, because this is not so.
It´s the US government and media, and perhaps other vassal countries media owned by the same interests, who hate them.
I would say that, even a right wing executive as the Spanish, would have liked to let the Russian carrier and vessels refuel and rest in the North African city of Ceuta, as has been since ages in peace time due to ancient dated sea politenes, if it had not been for the pressure they have
endured from NATO/ US and that as well is fed up with the sanctions.
Therefore, I do not know if it´s not counterproductive to make the Russian people believe that they are so hated and I do not discard at all that this is what is behind their apparently disconforting attitude toward Western tourists, as was my impression during my last travel to
Russia.
I do not know if it would mean something for the Russian people reading here but, for example, in our little but at the same time astonishingly beautiful city of San Sebastián, the world renowned Choir “Orfeón Donostiarra”, in its “Special Concert for Friends and Partners”, on 18th November, will be interpreting ” Ivan The Terrible” by Sergei Prokofiev…..
You see, Russian friends, you are trendy!
In another vein, I even think that the Russian government discard not only a nuclear war but also a hot war of any kind, well the so announced WWIII, on the contrary to the noise exerted in this sense by the whole alternative media, and also that they do this independently of who wins the next US election.
This is what I conclude at least after reading the recent interview to Mr. Nikolai Patrushev by Sputnik:
https://sputniknews.com/interviews/201611011046936463-patrushev-exclusive-interview/
Obviously, since Russia has been listed as a major security threat to the US, allong with ISIS ( lol ) and Ebola, the Russians are not going to rest on their laurels to be caught unprepared but without neglecting or reducing budget in other areas of development much needed in the country.
Just my two cents….
P.S: Attention also to what is stated about the Ukraine and what is taking place there, i.e. a civil war.
If you read the comments in a trash online newspaper like the British daily fail (DM), most commentators are pro-Putin, and he often gets the top 10 highest scores (that is, when the ratings have not been deliberately manipulated by anti-Russian idiots mostly, who accuse Brits etc of being Putin trolls/lovers whatever).
and yes of course, not forgetting moderated comments that naturally do not get through, wonder what percentage does not-certainly not most of mine believe me.
Russian classical music continues to be among the most popular choices for the national Lyric FM here, despite the not-so-subtle pro-NATO slant (covert, but detectable) in the corporate/state news.
Shostakovich must be the most often played composer – I hear the No. Two Waltz almost every week.
And with Christmas coming, it will be non-stop Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev…
Have lately noticed the evening Saturday programme is heavily US-influenced, promoting the NY Met performances and featuring a grating American female presenter.
I always switch it off now.
PS. I don’t know if that’s is happening anywhere else, or if I am being simply paranoid. But there is lately a lot of what I call ‘noise’ – non-music ‘soundscapes’ that are like an aural version of Futurism/Dada.
The stuff is hideous, devoid of harmony, rythm, melody or even beat: all completely stripped away for industrial bangs, whistles, shrieks etc. This crap is accompanied usually by Oxbridge or American ‘educators’, explaining to the dumb listener what the racket ‘signifies.’
I went researching to see if this aural cacophony had any history of being used as psyops, but couldn’t find any direct link. I still find the promotion of this aural ‘brutalism’ more than a little strange on a classical music station, one which used to supplement its diet with sole wonderful ethnic and folk genres from different cultures.
I wonder if we are being ‘reprogrammed’ via this depression-cognitive dissonance inducing crap?
Who’s behind it!
Enquiring minds want to know.
Note: my personal ‘axis-of-resistance’ takes the form of pointedly and immediately switching the s**t off.
LOL, Eimar, so it´s Prokofiev all the way….good….
BTW. with respect of ISIS being listed as “one of the three main threats to US national security”, ISIS will be thinking: “With enemies like these, who need friends!”
Hi Herb,
I have noticed that with these new features I am unable to scroll down or up my comment so as to see what I have written, and if it not were enough, the preview option has dissapeared.
With this, it´s impossible to add links before or after, because you can not see where they get placed in the text, and increases the time to post too, since I have passed a while going from one paragraph to another by the intro tecle to find the other paragraph.
I must say that I find this issue discouraging and a disadvantage for non English speaking people who would have to correct something in the text a real disadvantage with respect those who do not need to correct anything at all because of being fluent enough.
“I think most would agree that your English has never been better, ever since you visited Russia. Thank you for that constructive comment. – fk mod”
I have the same problem. When I try to review my post for errors,if it doesn’t fit in the little box it won’t let me go up to check it. It just moves the whole page up.
Well, I thought this comment would not be published.
Thank you, fk-mod, for your compliments, but it´s really difficult for me, so I hope there is something to make with the scrolling up-down and preview of comments to make them able again, I found them quite useful.
Thanks to Herb too.
Regards.
hi elsi
I tested between desktop and tablet. I found on the desktop that the up/down arrow keys allowed me to move up and down within the comment being written. On the android tablet the keyboard did NOT have up/down arrow keys. I did find a keyboard ‘hackers keyboard’ in the android play store that had up/down arrow keys. This worked fine for the android tablet. For the iphone … apple believes that you do not need them this is how it is done
“place your finger in the spot you want to edit and hold it there. don’t take your finger off the screen. after 1-2 seconds a circle will appear (kind of like a magnifying glass). without releasing your finger slide the line exactly where you need to edit and then release your finger. the cursor will now be in that spot and you can edit from there. Might seem awkward at first but when you get the hang of it you will find it is pretty easy to use.”
Hi Herb,
Only to confirm you that the arrow keys work well to go up and down within the comment in my computer also.
Thanks a lot.
BTW, the “read more” feature comprises the real aspect of the post, making it as if it were one welter of words without spaces or paragraphs, so that the comment is less inviting to read than when it is in its real sight, well presented as the commentator wrote it.
At the same time, in comments which present and exchanging of different views and even issues, as I do in my first comment above, where I start talking about something merely cultural to change real geopolitics from the Kremlin, people might not choose to read the whole comment, because of not taking interest in what I say in the first part, and thus losing the second, which could perhaps be of interest to someone who chose not to read more.
I wonder who benefits from these changes and why they were made.
From my point of view, the blog loses interest in what seems to be a promotion of the short comment twitter kind of praise / rejection, non elaborated and without links to corroborate any point/ statement to the detriment of the developed and reasoned comment.
On my main reading device ‘read more’ infected comments are walls of text.
Layout returns when read more is clicked.
Uninviting to read.
Impossible to load a page and read offline later because every read more click requires internet. Not to speak of forced javascript.
I am sorry, but this site takes a step backward in reader friendlyness.
I thought that the simplicity of the old comments site was part of its resistance character ‘any circumstance, any medium, including browsers on old devices’.
Now it seems to target lazy couch surfers with latest Android or Ios and always on internets.
Prokofiev: “Ivan The Terrible”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OSBDEVpjVM
For you all to enjoy.
In the performance at Donostia ( San Sebatian ), the narrator will be Iñaki Gabilondo, a renowned journalist.
I wish it had subs. For my wife.
The actor seems to speak with no accent at all.
Thanks for that. Inspiring and classy.
Your welcome.
Here the history of the play that was composed for the film by Sergei Eisenstein of the same name.
It includes some Liturgical pieces that most probably will enjoy our Orthodox Christian friends here

Also very interesting to know that the Tsars did not get along so well ( at all ) with the Boyars…..
The other day, talking with the “old strategist”, once returned from Russia, he adviced me “to not visit St .Petersburg after September”, because, in his own words, – “the icy wind blows from the Neva like a sharp blade….some are of the opinion that the Tsar transferred the court to St Petersburg to kill the boyars”…..
So interesting Russian history…..
Th
BTW, as a curioisty and also casuality, Serguei Prokófiev was born in Sóntsovka ( today Krásnoye city, Donetsk People´s Republic ).
I am tired now, and a little angry anyway. But it is very irritating to see blanket anti Ukrainian sentiment painted with such a broad brush. Its just not true what Putin’s media keeps spewing out. It is as bizarre as saying there is no French nation because the basis of their language originated in what is now Italy. Despite what Russians say, Ukraine IS a nationality and a culture distinct from Russia but closely related to it. The old Soviet Anthem of Ukraine –
“Always in battles for our people’s fate
The Russian people were our brothers and friends”
When Ukraine had a neutral or pro Russian government, the Russian elite were happy to talk about the brother people and second largest Slavic country with pride. Now the West has forced an anti Russia and pro banker government upon Ukraine, suddenly the Russian media calls them as a whole- subhuman pseudo-Slavic, neo Nazis. Anti Ukrainian sentiment has been whipped up into a fury and will backfire, massively.
The Ukraine was planted in 1917 as an IED for the Russian Empire by those patron saints of Ukraine which are now being removed sacrilegiously in Nulandistan.
The language was invented by Austrian Linguists based on Galician (western) dialects.
The main task of those ‘linguists’ was division.
Speaking of anthems, I take heart that the opening verse of the Nulandistani anthem remains unchanged:
“Is the Ukraine completely dead yet?” Not yet, but almost.
But, what was first, the chicken or the egg?
Now you come here complaining about anti-Ukrainian sentiment?
I would rewrite you last sentence so as to refresh your bad memory: “Anti-Russian sentiment has been whipped up into a fury and ( is backfiring ) and will backfire, massively”.
What did you expect?
Have you forgotten Timoshenko claims for to nuke the Russkies or Poroshenko´s statements
about that children in Donbass will be in the basements while Ukrainians enjoyed life, or all those
people so joyful burning Putin´s dummies or chanting abuse against him in the door of the Russian Embassy in the Ukraine, or Irina Farion menacing and ashaming children in a nursery by their Russian names saying that if they did not change their names they had to pack for Moscow?
I did remember as if it were yesterday, and I always will, and I am not even Russian, I am Spanish, antifascist.
This is also the US/Western narrative, blame the victim and the perpetrator complains of suffering from their own acts.
“In practical terms, most Russians believe that even if Russia pulled out of Syria, stopped supporting the Donbass or even decided to hand Crimea to the Ukies, the West would still continue to demonize Russia and try to subdue her.”
Yes, and that’s precisely the lesson learned from the Cold war in general and Western imperialism winning it in 1989-1991 in particular. Far from bringing Russia — let alone the world — love and harmony as the Zionazis had solemnly promised once “totalitarianism” was defeated, lawlessness, barbarism, and degeneration literally exploded. Unlike the zio-gays, the Russians understand that the West is broke, totally insane, and ditto evil.
I have a sneaky feeling that the ruling Zionazis, given their far stronger grip over the drooling slobs of the West as compared to the Russians, will give us a really classy act of poetic justice: Russophobia as a distraction with the aim of giving the West’s faithful “the Yeltsin treatment”. If the latter remain docile with regard to the Zionazis and continue to go along with their Western media garbage, then so be it.
As I read through comments,on many of our own sites.I’m struck with the fact that many of them are about “rumors”,and, not even “second-hand” information. But 8th or 9th hand information.Sometimes it feels like we do the hasbara trolls job for them (assuming of course that some of the comments aren’t hasbara themselves).A friend pointed out to me days ago. That a good hasbara story always has an element of truth in it (i.e. half or quarter truth). So as to make it “somewhat” believable. As we come close to the end of the election circus. There will be “any number” of BS stories and rumors circulating about.Meant to sway or confuse people. But hopefully we should use some common sense in thinking about them (even if ,as is said,”common sense isn’t so common anymore”).
“and their conclusion is simple: the West does not hate Putin, the West hates *us*”
Let it be clearly be known that I Geoff Bell, DO NOT hate Russians, they are seeming to be the only sane people on this planet at the moment !!
As scary as those magazine covers are–and they would look extremely menacing at a traditional newsstand at the airport–who honestly reads the Economist? This is propaganda at the height of irresponsibility and dangerousness. I wouldn’t expect anything less from those elite journals, but print “news” readership is way down last I checked.
The fact that Putin( without control of the global media) is beating them (the elites who sponsor this crap) fair and square has to be eating them alive. Just like Trump with all the dirt thrown at him 24/7, it’s not going to be as easy to win the information war as it was back in the 30’s 40’s and 50’s.
The mind boggling stupidity of the US led West being abjectly obeyed by small and big vassal states is in reality changing allegiance in facts, not words. Where movers and shakers used to shake Netanyahu’s hand, they refuse to do so any more for instance..
It may be mind bogglingly stupid propaganda, but who is the propaganda for? It is directed to the stupid masses in the West for whom a minimum consensus is required to support an aggressive stance towards Russia on the part of the main NATO powers (US/UK). What the Russian populace make of this idiocy is clearly of no consequence, for they (NATO) know that in the end, it will be impossible to convince the Russian populace that they are not being attacked when they so obviously are. As during WW2, in the run up to the Nazi invasion, did the Hitlerite regime in Berlin care what Russia thought of Germany & its so-called ‘Third Reich’? Same here, because the propaganda war for the hearts & minds of the Russian populace was lost for the West a long time ago, memory of the Eltsin years as compared with the current Putin era is enough to convince most Russians that the current government apparatus is better than the alternative the the 5th/6th columnist supposed ‘opposition’ to Putin are promising. So the US media machine is just doing a re-run of it McCarthy era hysteria, only this time around, the threat to the US/UK Atlanticist Anglo-American Empire is very real, their global hegemony is truly in question now, whereas back then it was not.
Yes, that´s the issue, that they have lost their global hegemony to the “new kids on the block”.
The last analysis by El Lince says it more clear talking about new developments in the Chinese Popular Army, which along with the developments achieved by the Russian Army, comes only to add to my point above about a not so possible all out war, since they, the US/NATO, simply will not dare, to the risk of losing. Only, yes, it seems that, along with the patience of the Russians, the patience is also finished in the East:
“There is already a speech after so many messages”
http://elterritoriodellince.blogspot.com.es/2016/11/ya-hay-un-discurso-tras-tantos-mensajes.html
“China has more than a year throwing messages both US and its European vassals. Especially to the US. It started in September last year when in the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of victory over fascism Japanese debuted two of its most devastating weapons: missile “East Wind” and the DF-26. The first is capable of sinking aircraft carriers; the second, has sufficient scope to destroy the main US military bases throughout Asia, especially Guam.
Then in February this year, he established his own benchmark gold price with which China reduces its dependence on the price of gold in dollars and began to peg its currency, the renminbi (or yuan) to gold eroding the power of the US currency. At the same time, substantially increased gold purchases.
In May, put into operation alternative to the big rope with which the West drowns peoples and governments: the SWIFT, the international interbank payment system. China already has his, CIPS, which has forced the West to negotiate a memorandum of understanding between the two. There are already users of the Chinese system like Russia and Iran, and most likely will add to the same in the short-term Indonesia and some other Asian countries like Malaysia.
In September, China hosted the G20 summit in which not only dealt sound desplantes to the US but clearly was erected as the great US competitor globally.
And now, right on the eve of the US elections, has returned to show off their power, in this case military, presenting everyone believes it is, today, the best and most advanced fighter plane there, the J-20 which is also known as “Mighty Dragon”. This aircraft has a nice history, since it is the proper development of an American plane shot down by the Serbs in the war that NATO launched against this country in 1999. The Serbs offered the wreckage of the downed aircraft the Russians (then with Yeltsin in the presidency), who rejected it, and then to the Chinese, who accepted. That was the reason why the US bombed the Chinese embassy in Belgrade, an affront that the Chinese have never forgotten. USA wanted to prevent such wreckage arrived to China, which failed.
And now China takes another step and after many messages already launched his own speech: beware with what you do because you are no longer invulnerable. This aircraft J-20 finishes with the air superiority of the US and beyond: while the US has its best aircraft designed for air and ground combat, the Chinese J-20 is also designed to attack ships. That is, it is the first multifunctional war aircraft, with capacity to attack on all fronts.
Since China is only vulnerable by sea, since much of the supplies it needs, especially food, come this way, and the US and its Asian vassals, in this case, like South Korea, Japan and Australia- are driving a kind of maritime siege, trying to control the Strait of Malacca or the South Sea China, that this aircraft has been presented indicates that the patience of China is over and that from now on the treatment will not be the same neither with the US nor its vassals, in the military field.
The aircraft will be fully operational in 2017, ie, when there is another US president. Clinton has repeated ad nauseam that “we must stop Russia and China”, so the Chinese discourse turns to this argument and says, quite simply, “dare”. The presentation of the J-20 to a week of the election is more than a warning, is the realization that China and has no fear. At the same time, China is already building its second aircraft carrier, all with its own technology, the one that has now is of Soviet technology, and is beefing up its navy.
And if that were not enough, China has submitted to the UN a request to increase his troops in the forces of the Blue Helmets to 8,000 soldiers, which would become the country that most Blue Helmets have and, therefore, would to command them worldwide. This is something we want to avoid as the West, which has become very nervous with this Chinese movement since “historically” These Blue Helmets have always been under their control (in the division of tasks between the US and its vassals, is a French general who commands the Blue Helmets deployed throughout the world).
Chinese discourse is increasingly clear. China speaks openly and acts as a great power, as a superpower. If it dares to respond clearly to the US and its vassals in what until now was its Achilles heel, the military, so does in the political arena. In another move that has much to do with the increasing role that China is acquiring in the UN, China yesterday took another step that reinforces his speech: I start marking the rules.
I guess you know that North Korea suffered a few weeks ago stunning floods that swept Hamgyong, a border area with China. Here you get in winter average temperatures of 15 degrees below zero and the winter is very close. The North Korean government said 16,800
houses were completely destroyed by floods and 70,000 people needed urgent help. So he sought help from the famous “international community” that so democratic is. It turns out that the famous “international community”, so democratic, has refused alleging that aid “may be used by the North Korean Army.” And the famous, and democratic, “international community” claimed the UN sanctions against North Korea to refuse the request.
In view of this attitude, China has announced that it will act on their own and grant aid worth 20 million Renminbi (2.66 million euros) while harshly criticizes international humanitarian agencies for failing responded positively to the North Korean request.(…)
Better you translate the whole article and, if you can read Spanish, you can go through the hyperlinks also.
Apart from testing how many points indicates that the hegemony of the US/West in finished, you will know about the history of the J-20 super aircraft which portray some kind of poetic justice ( especially recommended reading the history of the aircraft to our Serbian friends here, it is included in the excert translated above ).
Enjoy!
What is truly mind bogglingly stupid is that US planners/military strategists could actually believe that a world of 7 billion people can be controlled by a military machine with a maximum man power of about 500,000, throw in supposed NATO ‘allies’ & may be they can reach about a million, totally maxed out, all members contributing what they have. A million soldiers wouldn’t be enough to take over Russia, let alone the entire planet – & yet, that is clearly what they set out to do in earnest after 9/11. Unbelievable, stupidity on a colossal scale. What they clearly convinced themselves of is something that a young cadet in military academy would probably question in terms of logic, & that is the believe that destructive power equates to real power on the ground. Well it doesn’t, & the use of force has in instantaneous effect, it produces results on impact, but the consequences longer term can never be predicted. It reminds me of something from Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel Dune, the lead character Paul Atreides locked into his own private struggle with an imperial juggernaut asserts that “the power to control a thing is to have complete control over it.” I love that book, but that is fallacy & false logic, typically American & in general, Western. A farmer can shoot his cattle dead but that doesn’t mean they will do what he wants them to do, they have to be domesticated. This is what the idiots in Washington do not understand, they get this in London a little more but even there their arrogance leads them to delusions of grandeur that do not equate with reality. The US can not exercise control over itself at this point, it has been hijacked to the hilt by a Zionist Anglo-Germanic caste that are preparing to establish Greater ‘Eretz’ Israel, where all the military resources & a significant part of the white population will be transferred – they may not even call it ‘Israel’ by that time – were they to achieve this insane objective, which I believe they will not. Unfortunately, the Mid East & significant parts of the world will drown in blood in the meantime.
Sorry, that quote was “the power to destroy a thing is to have complete control over it.” My mistake. Total fallacy though, that is the point.
