An AngloZionist attack on Syria appears to be inevitable and imminent. There is always a chance of a major pushback from some putative mentally sane, realistic and patriotic generals in the Pentagon, but I am not holding my breath (I asked two of my best informed friends about that, they both told me to forget about it). Counting on those who have made a life obeying orders to suddenly refuse one, and wreck their career in the process, is naive. Besides, most of what we now have at the Pentagon are not Admiral Fallon types, but rather the same “an ass-kissing little chickenshit” type à la Petraeus. They might not push for a confrontation with Russia, but they will do what they are told to. The commander of CENTCOM recently said just that (“we will do what we are told“).
However, what kind of attack options the US Neocons and their Israeli pals will chose is probably what is being debated right now. Here are the basic options
1) A repeat of last year’s attack on the Syrian Air Force base in Shayrat. That would be by far the best option and that would allow the Neocons a face-saving, even if entirely symbolic, “look how tough we are” option. They might as well strike the same T4 base the Israelis did a few days ago, just with more missiles. And, just to make this look all very “democratic” they might ask the French, Brits or Israelis to participate in that attack.
2) It is too late, militarily speaking, to try to reverse the situation on the ground, but hitting more Syrian Air Force bases, communication nodes, air defenses, etc. is definitely an option. Following such an attack, the US allies on the ground (the “good” and the “bad” terrorists) would go on the offensive and the Syrians and their allies would struggle to “plug the holes” thus created. That would not fundamentally change the outcome, but would prolong the chaos and associated bloodbath.
3) Attack the Iranians. This is a grand favorite with the Israelis and the Neocons, but it is also a much riskier option because if the attack is successful, the Iranians would have a huge number of potential US targets to chose from to retaliate, as would Hezbollah. Still, that would placate the Iran-haters, at least temporarily, and it would allow Trump to show how “tough” and “great” a guy he is.
4) A full scale attack on the Syrian military and on the government (including Presidential facilities). We are talking about hundreds of cruise missiles in the first wave. Targets would include not only purely military targets (ammo dumps, troop concentrations, etc.) but also the “regime support infrastructure”, i.e. civilians and that which makes civilian life possible: power plants, water purification, communications, bridges, roads, ports, schools and hospitals (“camouflaged regime objectives”) etc. Basically, that is what the US/EU/NATO did to Serbia and what the Israelis have done many times to Lebanon: murder as many civilians as possible to make them pay for supporting the “Animal Assad”. A time honored Anglo and Jewish tradition, by the way.
5) A deliberate attack on Russian and Iranian positions in Syria to “punish” them for supporting “Animal Assad’s” chemical attacks.
Of course, a combination of the options above are possible. Roughly speaking options 1, 2 and 3 might (conditional) remain manageable. Only option 1 is (relatively) safe. Options 4 and 5 are absolutely insane and are likely to result in an extremely dangerous escalation.
Let’s look at it from another point of view.
What would be the goal of a AngloZionist attack?
I think that we can all agree that nobody seriously believes that a actual chemical attack took place and that everybody knows that this is a (poorly) staged false flag predicted by both Nikki Haley and the Russians weeks ago. As for a full-scale reversal of the outcome in Syria or a reconquista by US/NATO, these are not militarily speaking realistic options.
So then what is the point?
1) Internal US politics: Trump wants to appease the Neocons and looks “tough”.
2) Make the Syrians, Iranians and Russians pay for defeating the “good” and “bad” terrorists.
3) Appease the always bloodthirsty Israelis and create a nice pretext to renege on the nuclear deal with Iran.
4) The need to act on the rhetoric (that one is often ignored, but the fact is that when a regime spews a constant stream of paranoid and hate-filled nonsense about another country, it eventually has to do something about it. Speaking of “Animal Assad” and do nothing about him just does not look good for The Donald).
5) Some hope to actually kill Assad (unlikely, the integrated Russian-Syrian air defenses will warn him of the attack).
6) Re-establish, by means of example, that the USA is still the biggest and baddest guy out there and that neither Iran nor Russia can do anything about it. Scare Russia and Iran into submission (I know, this is a stupid notion, but Neocons are not very bright!).
I think that we should not over-intellectualize all this. Frankly, I don’t think that the folks in the White House are very bright and that their level of planning is roughly similar to “if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail”. What they have is a mental hammer: the desire to lash out, to strike, to hurt, to punish. Just hatred and infinite arrogance.
As to where and how the hammer will strike – your guess is as good as mine.
Attempting to predict the actions of delusional psychopaths is an exercise in futility.
Besides, we will find out very soon.
The Saker
UPDATE1: RT reports that Russia and the US are both submitting resolutions to the UNSC. Both resolutions demand an international investigation; the OPCW announced its decision to dispatch a fact-finding mission to Syria. RT is also reporting that one Russian newspaper has declared that a top level Russia-US meeting over Syria is scheduled for next week. Maybe, just maybe, this insanity can be stopped?
Saker,
You’ve listed the coalition options. I’m hoping you’ll comment on not only the possible Russian and Iranian responses, but also when and if a proactive attack would be a consideration by Russia. It seems to me, if the Russians believe choices 4 or 5 are likely, would it not make sense to stop reciprocating and instead deliver the first blow before you get hammered?
Preemptive is the way to minimize any casualties suffered but will certainly trigger Article 5 NATO attack so there are consequences to it.
A bunch of jets fueled and armed on the tarmac is a great target though.
Preemptive is ,sure, way to minimize casualties, but what next? It will be an escalation after that, like an ,,answer,, to preemptive attack? Highly probably!
If your preemptive attack is preemptive, enough enemy military assets in the theatre will be destroyed so that the enemy can’t prevent victory.
According to Air/Land Battle doctrine, your next options are positional dislocation a la France 1940 or functional dislocation a la Russian & Syrian Air Defences will allow them to have air supremacy or superiority.
If there is a Russian counter-attack and a ship like the Donald Cook gets destroyed, what will be the likely reaction of the Americans. They will get even more insane.
A clash between NATO and Russia seems inevitable to me anyway, so maybe a pre-emptive strike may not be so off the wall. As The Saker said elsewhere, the Americans are not interested in talking or finding solutions.
The Zionazis want the FIFA World Cup off. The Zionazis want the Iranian nuclear deal sabotaged. The Zionazis want Syria vivisected in accordance with the Oded Yinon Plan. And, as you observe, the Zionazis always want blood. They have their puppets, Micron and the May Witch, slavering nicely, too. And their fakestream media throughout the West, the greatest agglomeration of vicious, lying, hypocritical swine ever assembled to help hasten humanity’s end, are still screeching hysterically about the children in Douma, while keeping their filthy hypocrite gobs shut concerning children in Yemen, Gaza, AND those who will be ‘collateral damage’ in any attack on Syria.
Sorry, hate to tell them the World Cup is on and will be held in Russia.
To do otherwise would completely destroy the scam that FIFA pulls with the World Cup. They get countries to spend huge amounts of money, including bribes to get the competition. But mainly in stadium building. If they cancelled this world cup, then most other nations will be very reluctant to spend the money only to have the rug pulled out from under them like with Russia in 2018. For instance Qatar should immediate stop building stadiums as the Saudis would be very likely to do the same to them next time.
Basically, few countries would want to apply to host the World Cups, and that would destroy the FIFA board members and their scams and corruption schemes that keep them rich. The world cup must go on in order to keep the con-game running.
i have thought for some time that that is exactly what should happen……first the AZ would not expect it and would be confused by being forced into escalating the conflict…..and now not on their terms….they would now be reacting…..and too why not do something like a major EMP attack over the US…..making the whole of the US an emergency which needs to be managed/controlled….consuming vast resources that would overwhelm the US military and cause even the most hardened soldier to worry more about the welfare of his/her friends/family then paying attention to insane/irreverent orders from a confused and disordered command……while immediately informing the AZ forces that any retaliatory actions will be meet with a full unrelenting nuclear response….which would leave them non-existent….with no homeland ever to return to…..
The lesson of Fukushima was that without a functional grid, once the emergency generators run down (if they survive the EMP), all our nuclear power plants are ticking time bombs. An EMP would be very cruel indeed.
Someone over at Zerohedge was saying cut the internet cables on the sea floor in 3 places. Infrastructure is always a great way to make a point and it has complete deniability.
High power transmission lines, transformers etc. Leave the northeast USA in the dark or large parts of it. Similar to what happened in California a few years back but on a larger scale.
http://thetruthwins.com/archives/in-19-minutes-a-team-of-snipers-destroyed-17-transformers-at-a-power-station-in-california
Sad to say, that might be what it will take to stop a nuclear war. But even if there was plausible deniablility, or even if Russia didn’t do it, the Ziomedia would call it an “act of War by Putin.”
Yes, the Russian Federation/Syrian response is vital to the argument. I suppose the US/NATO will choose Option #1 hoping for a few more potholes for MSM congratulatory effect but what will RF/Syria opt for… this is a two-way street after all.
How about a bit of a twist on Option #3: (a)… warning to attack Israeli jets wherever, whenever they release missiles into Syrian territory or, (b)… warning to attack the Israeli base from where the jets lifted off.
RF/Syria has NO desire for a shooting war; it will only cascade to a world of grief… but if you could divide your oppostions’ interests it may provide a bloodless solution… hmmm. So if RF/Syria is provoked/attacked again by Israel and executes one or both of (a) and (b) the Western Coalition of the Compromised will have to consider if RF/Syrian “retaliation” against Israel is worth the next step.
Will they support Israel or will they finally cut it loose? It all depends on how deep all of their allegiances run.
Just saying.
Saker, you have BY far the best reporting on this situation I have seen anywhere. Thanks so much!!!
All these scenarios involve missiles. So why can’t the the anti-missile defence system over Syria (eg. s400) just neutralise all & any incoming missiles? No offensive action, purely defence. Russians can let the Syrians take credit for it. No direct confrontation between Russia and US, no need to shoot at any US destroyers..Is this an option?
Yes why can’t the S-400 system knock out hundreds of incoming cruise missiles simultaneously ?
“Why can’t the S-400 system knock out hundreds of incoming cruise missiles simultaneously?”
This is why I think it might make sense for Russia to strike immediately before the full barrage capacity of multiple destroyers etc is in place. Make the first strike and demand the carrier force in the Atlantic turn around or go after them before they arrive, if the new weapons have such capability, use as a first strike now while doubling as a deterrent to entry for the approaching fleet. I have no military experience, but it seems like a logical, but bold approach.
Suicidal more like.
because for each missile you shoot down you need one, or two, missiles your self.
Russians just don’t have that kind of missile stocks in Syria
The Saker
Missiles vs anti-missiles combat is always a numbers game.
Systems usually have a max number of targets that they can track and try to engage. Then as the Saker points out, there question is how many anti-missiles do I need to fire to ensure a kill on one target. The number of launchers is not unlimited. Thus, with any missile vs missile def scenario. there is a number of attacking missiles that can not be countered by available defensive fire.
The Americans have the reverse of the problem. Given that very high percentages of their missiles don’t seem to reach their targets in Syria, how many missiles do they have to aim at each target they want to hit? 5 missiles per target? Maybe 10 if its a well defended target like an air defense site? Now you are talking about a raid of 80 missiles only having 8 to 16 targets.
So, they should be looking at their potential targets and guessing at defenses they’ll encounter. If they don’t send enough missiles, then the defense works and all they did was waste a bunch of million dollar missiles. If they send too many, they just wasted multiple million dollar missiles hitting one target several times when one hit would do the job.
The Tomahawks only have a 50% target-strike-rate, unchanged since their original inception. GPS jamming will further reduce that. However, the target missing and jammed Tomahaks will still hit the ground somewhere and inevitably kill innocent civilians.
you are forgetting the Russian EM countermeasures!
if they got more than half the cruise missiles in the last attack out of course, or hacked their
GPS signaling… why not all of them?
If something happens, I assume the Russian would bring their “Wunderwaffen” out into the light.
I assume a complete salvo of 200, maybe 400 cruise missiles, or even more to simply fall off the Sky in
misssssssterious way.
This Thing alone will stop any further escalation, because it would point that
AZ are playing out of their Leage, that they are fighting with obsolete weapons Systems.
Remember how many times we have read or heard that the Russians are at least 20 yeas ahead of the
muricans in Counter Electronic Measures, ICBM Rockets, and probably also in Cruise Missiles.
In Fact it will be such a Shock for the AZ that they are going to get paralyzed.
not knowing what to do next, and just realizing they are just the proverbial duck in the water.
If you add a couple of switched-off ships and disappearing submarines (remember those magnificent Hunter-killer Subs the Russians have, sure there is a couple hidden in the deeps awaiting like predators…)
and maybe a demonstration Salvo of Russian Cruise Missiles (hyperspeed capable or nor, doesn’t Matter) against … for example, Al Tanf Base or similar and we have the “Slap in the Face” we all are waiting for.
Maybe I am quite an optimist. But lets suppose, please, that intelligent, educated and rational people can overthink a bunch of ignorant, deluded Idiots that happens to be also psychopaths.
Well as slapping goes, this is how bellicose things have become.
http://shoebat.com/2018/04/10/warmongering-us-ambassador-brags-about-starting-proxy-wars-with-russia-tells-russia-at-un-you-will-never-be-our-friend-we-will-slap-you-around-when-we-need-to/
that’s why the platforms will be taken out and it’s been promised
From a purely logistical perspective it is far more efficient then to disable the source of all these hundreds of cruise missiles, since those sources can be counted on one or two hands.
This of course leads to other difficulties in terms of escalation….
might be… but at the actual prices… disabling a salvo of 200 missiles is like burning a Billion Dollars in your backyard with gasoline. Let them keep trying, it is just a good draining of resources. it might be that they double down… next time will be 400 missiles and 2 Billions…
Napoleon said “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake”
The stocks even could be enough, it just does not matter against massive strike.
What would determine success is amount of launchers that can fire.
Stocks?.. When the massive barrage is incoming there would be just not enough time to reload those launchers from depots.
What incoming missiles were not taken out by the first defense salvo would reach air defense positions and desintegrate those very stocks before launchers can use them.
The Saker
Aren’t we all forgetting Russian electronics, the Khirbiny jamming system which took out the USS Donald Cook in 2014 and Trumps Tomahawks in 2017 ?
I believe there was a retrofit to shield wiring -probably why the Donald is back ready to take another swing at the Russian coast
And other unamed ‘systems’ Putin ‘mentioned’ in his recent speech to the Federation.
Whatever happened to go old fashion sea mines ! That would be my choice. No one would expect it and you could always say you have no idea how they got there :)
@Serbiangirl, @Paul Greenwood: Answer is: because is too few of them! In principle , S 400 is ideal for the yob, together with TOR-s and Pancir,s but , they are limited in quantity! There is aproblem!
Which is why Russia tries to stall for time. They can run that production line a little longer and turn out a few new batteries of S-400’s and the S-500’s they are also building now.
1) there aren’t enough S-400 batteries in Syria to defend against a 100+ cruise missile salvo
2) depending on where and in what fashion the missiles are coming from intercepting them may technically not feasible. for example landscape issues may prevent interception before they are too close. there are other systems for that like Pantsir and Tor, but they have a relatively small radius and again there aren’t that many of them deployed in Syria to defend everything.
3) cynical as it sounds, depending on the target it does not necessarily make sense to waste fairly expensive S-400 missiles (around half a million USD apiece) vs old Tomahawks that are basically already near-expired. now, vs a $50 million F-15 it would be another story, but likely a mass launch will be either from a destroyer or from a missile-carrying submarine, which aren’t targets of an AA system like the S-400.
I refer you to Andrei Martyanov’s reply to my on Unz.com.
First, read his article here: http://www.unz.com/article/russia-the-800-pound-gorilla/
Second, I asked about using the new laser system since it won’t have an issue of limited ammunition so long as its power source runs, I anticipate it is designed for cruise missiles and as ABM.

@Y.L.
I wrote “As The Saker has written, the S-400s and S-300s and Pantsir can be overwhelmed since there is a finite supply of ammunition.”
Both Saker and me roughly shared the same assessment till October-November last year, since then additional S-400 plus new sensors such as radar Garmon’ were deployed to Syria, plus it is confirmed now that there are numerous Buk-M2s in Syria too. This increases AD capability there dramatically. But I made a very explicit point that even in previous configuration the US attack on Russian (I underscore–Russian) forces there would be suicidal for a whole range of US assets in the region. Here:
http://www.unz.com/article/russia-the-800-pound-gorilla/
The discussion of those scenarios was conducted in a classic “What If” manner. Per lasers.
1. I have no idea in what state of readiness they are–I assume they are operational but, see pp.2
2. Present force in Syria (and beyond) provides reliable cover for Russian forces there and allow to control escalation.
***
Thus, if there is a battle, it will be deplorable but the Russians should be able to give as good as they get. Due to honor, not wanting to be accused of starting war, I believe they will not draw first blood. The City of London, Paris and the A.Z. Empire will shoot first.
Anolther question is whether if you think this likely becomes a full scale war, do you show your new secret weapon during what is likely just an opening skirmish in Syria. Or do you save it to spring as a big surprise later during more vital European engagements?
From available reports there are at least 2 S400 battalions in Syria, each battalion with 32 launchers and appox 100 missiles to fire including reloads. There is at least a battalion of S350 with 80 launchers and corresponding missiles, along with point defenses.
There are S300 air defenses as well, maybe two battalions, each battalion with 32 launchers.
Moskva cruiser has 64 S300F air defense missiles at its disposal along with one or
two Grigorovich frigates that deploy 20 Shtil missiles each.
Then of course, there are the Krasukha EW platforms that can take care of a good portion of the cruise missiles, and cause electronic confusion on attacking missiles and aircraft.
Interesting tried “Buk-M2 you tube” on google and no hits returned with you tube videos.
Tried on Yandex and many returned.
Someone is working the censorship system. Raw nerve?
As far as the danger of escalation is concerned, I think it is generally recognized that the interception of missile is a defensive action, and if Russian troops intercept missiles – even if they take credit for it -, this would hardly give the US a pretext for attacking these troops. But the problem is that no anti-missile defense is perfect, even the S-400 system, which is probably one of the best of these systems, and if there are too many missiles, these systems are overwhelmed.
I suppose the missile defense systems are being prepared, but it depends on the kind of attack how much they can prevent.
Defence is never enough, the only language they will understand is an attack on the launch sites, that will mean reducing some warships to incinerated scrap.
Gosh, what happens to the tiny and enclosed Mediterranean sea when all these ships get sunk with God only know what contaminants in them. Will there be any life there once this is all over to support some kind of follow on civliization?
I think they would use their Pantzir system for bringing down Tomahawks…
Russia does not have enough missiles for that, the Russian contingency in Syria is the absolute minimal what Assad would need to be able to overcome the terrorists, and for Russian forces to be secured. Nothing more. The Russian forces are not meant to defend Syria against USA but to be just enough to help the Syrians defeat the terrorists.
If you compare the level of power USA and Russia has in the region, the Russian presence is microscopic. Russia would stand no chance at all in defending Syria from USA.. And if Russian forces fired at USA forces they would all be destroyed very easily..
That makes it hard for Russia if any Russian soldiers are killed… Either they do nothing, which basically means that the life of Russian servicemen means nothing.. Or they fired back, but then every single Russian soldier in Syria is 100% dead.
says Katz from Zion
Its also the same thiing that the Saker has been saying in the past.
The Russian air detachment in Syria is tiny. A small handful of modern air superiority fighters. Like 4 or maybe 6 IIRC. Some other modern fighter-bombers. And a group of Su-24 ground attack planes for pounding terrorists. Someone in these comments said it was calculated to be just enough to turn the tide against the radical Islamic jihadist militants. And Russia didn’t want to send more because it is indeed a small force that would be very isolated if a real war gets started. They send enough to do the job, but not so much that they can’t afford to lose it.
Both sides have to wonder if a war in Syria starts off a bigger war. And the thing is, if it does start a bigger war, the important battles are going to be up in Europe and especially in Ukraine. Syria will quickly become a sideshow for NATO and Russia. It will be important for those who live there, but in terms of the bigger war it becomes a less important theater than whatever happens in Europe and along the direct intersection where NATO and Russia meet. Thus Russia has deployed a force just big enough to do its job in Syria. And it knows its taking a risk by having them there, so while they don’t want to lose that force they don’t send a force bigger than they can afford to lose.
Surely now that a US attack is imminent they would have sent for reinforcements no? Do they have no ships in the area?
Perhaps this is Putin’s fault for trying to do things on the cheap and dragging things on longer then they need be. A larger commitment earlier on might have decided things quicker before the Yankee Jihadis established themselves in Northern Syria and now are steaming their naval ships off the coast of Syria for another attack. China could also have done much more. In fact, they have not done much of anything. I recall that old proverb, either we hang together, or we hang separately.
We might be overlooking something rather elementary. The Russians have stated that they will respond military if there forces come under attack in Syria and everyone is assuming that the response would be one of attacking either the UN naval ships or perhaps the US bases in Northern Syria, but what if the response came from somewhere else entirely? Perhaps hitting some of the NATO troops lined up on Russia’s borders. I makes these statements because some of the posters here seem to by implying that the Russian forces are too weak in Syria to respond to a US attack even if they wanted too.
Having said that they will respond to an attack on their forces in Syria as a result of this bogus gas attack and doing nothing means Russia and Putin lose all credibility. In addition, it will simply invite more attacks. I think if Russia had been firmer to begin with, we may not be in this situation right now. ie; Letting Israel bomb Syria at will is stupid.
I don’t see that. The US forces in the area, while larger than the Russian is not without limit. And Russia is far closer to reinforce their forces than the US is.Its doubtful the Israelis would actually fully enter the battle. And if Turkey was to be neutral, the US would have to face,Russia,Syria, and a good possibility,Iran as well. What would the British and French do? If Russia was to inform those two that they would be considered targets inside their countries if they involve themselves in that fight.I’m not sure they would risk missiles raining down on Paris and London to join the US in fighting Russia. Maybe they would of course. But maybe there are enough patriotic citizens left there to drag the leaders that support that to the nearest streetlamp and hang them instead.
@UB1
“The US forces in the area, while larger than the Russian is not without limit. And Russia is far closer to reinforce their forces than the US is.” – that’s why I like your comments. This is true, if somebody takes a closer look at a map. People have already forgotten the Kalibr missiles launched from the Caspian sea and the airfields put at Russia’s disposal by Iran. I wonder what will do Turkey if Russia will ask for the same – namely let the Russians have free access to some Turkish military airfields, will Erdo refuse, or will give them, gladly doing that, throwing some spicy pepper under the arrogant nose of Macron and and all that branch in the EU.
not necessarily true
you can’t win an war from the air
Russia can inflict a lot of damage on USA platforms
The kind that will send America scrambling and screaming in shock
The Russians have had plenty of time to plan for this and make no mistake they and their allies will react swiftly and with huge shock
they have less to lose than the Empire
The Empire doesn’t have it’s people with them
The goodies all do
There is only one equal, or maybe better. Aleksandar Sjekloca, the author of radio talkshow kosmopolitika, on radio 2m in Srebia.
I believe that based on what other reports are saying that there may not be enough russian missiles to knock down over 200 incoming crusise missiles ….. and they are expensive the s 400 s .
That is why there are Pantsir-S1 Air Defense System s now in place as they are less expensive while they have a shorter range yet they are as lethal ….
We shall soon find out….
ross
S300 and S400 are not delivered to SAA. They are too expensive to waste on tomahawks.
also, the more you use them, the more you give info to the enemy with which to develop countermeasures. you have to show your hand to play it.
might not make sense to show your hand just yet.
Alas, I fear you are right.
This is my first comment on your website. As a 65 yr old American I believe we are much closer to WWIII than we were in the 60s. However, in general, the average American is oblivious to this danger. The mass media is excellent at controlling the narrative. There are no more movies like Dr. Strangelove, Failsafe, The Day After, etc. addressing this possibility.
Because of the arrogance and hatred of those in charge as you mentioned I have a feeling that Russia’s only option is to strike back. There is no negotiating with these people.
Scary, since during the Cuban missile crisis in the 60’s, we were so very close that a communist political officer had to countermand an order to fire a nuclear weapon at the Americans.
These days, the Pentagon has “script approval” on almost anyting made in Hollywood. Even the comic-book movies. Welcome to the land of the free. I don’t think they’d like Dr. Strangelove.
It’s getting late to pull this off now but, as I suggested in the Cafe yesterday, Russia should use a small tactical nuke on the Israeli airbase where the latest Israeli F-15s that attacked Syria took off. This would
1. Give absolute credibility to the Russian words about protecting their personnel in Syria, and
2. Give a small taste of the (awaiting) nuclear devastation if the AngloZionists persist in their ongoing war-mongering.
I don’t think it would be the best option, having in mind the long story of provocations, false flags, machinations of all kind, propaganda, against Russia, such an attack would have very negative consequences : ” we told you, Putin is the new Hitler “. China would not be happy either, think about that.
The voices of restraint, the opposition against the Empire in the western countries would be shut down forever, martial law could be declared openly and the general mobilization would be a fact, the “enemy” would be named openly with overwhelming power, any dissent would be crashed with force, various restrictions would be put in place. Let’s forget that option.
I fully agree, but aren’t we going there anyway? Do you believe that the West would like to search for the truth and might even consider that Russia has her own interests, be it in Ukraine, or Syria? Sometimes the best defense is attack. The overwhelming propaganda against Russia that started in 2014, but got to new highs especially in the last few weeks shows what the West aims to do – to destroy Russia. From what I see it is a matter of time before they escalate things again and again and does Russia has to simply watch idly? It would help if China was a bit more supportive, but China is deluded that she has should remain neutral.
The plan was ALWAYS to destroy Russia, install Quisling New Yeltsins in the ruins, then recruit them to the Big One- the war to consolidate Western Judeo-Christian Full Spectrum Dominance of the entire planet, FOREVER. On the way the Zionazis would love pillaging Russia as they did the USSR in the 90s, revenge for pogroms etc. When attempting to understand how Zionazis intend acting, always think HATE.
» Russia should use a small tactical nuke on the Israeli airbase … «
Sweet and enticing as it sounds, it’s not a viable option, for the simple reason that “nukes” are fake news from 1945. No science, all fiction. Sorry to disappoint all the doomsday folks. It’ll all have to be conventional, bound by the limits of what’s humanly feasible. There is no magic bullet.
Madness.
Nukes are not “fake news”. Nukes are real. A nuke was used against Yemen a year or so ago.
God have mercy on us all
I totally agree Varang. I’m just going to say that prayer is not a wasted exercise – whether it be that the deluded psychopaths that make up the so-called leaders of the western world are brought to their senses or that the schemes of wicked men are brought to naught. Right now, all regular people that have faith can do, is pray!
Personally I am appalled but not surprised by the folly and iniquity being displayed by the US, UK, France, Israel etc but can see no way back out of the rabbit hole we currently find ourselves in.
We ALL need to pray for God to protect Syrians and all the peacemakers there.
The prayers of the Children of God are heard by Him.
Pray. Pray even if you are an atheist.
” Blessed are the peace makers for they shall be called the Children of God”.

Good article by Damian Martinovich (To be or Not to be for Putin and Russia?)
https://russia-insider.com/en/breaking-defining-moment-putin-stand-usisrael-empire-chaos-or-fold/ri23052
“If Russia does nothing and hides under the table while whining and protesting against illegal American, British, French and Israelis strikes against Syrian people, it will be the ultimate defeat and humiliation for Russia and Putin. No one will want to be a Russian ally anymore, even though lots of countries are not in line to become one, to be honest. This will be geopolitical defeat of gigantic intensity and in that case it is better that the Russians leave Syria than further humiliate themselves.”
However at this moment things are looking rather bleak. Russia seems to be caving in and so is China (US Futures Rise as Chinese Leadership Eases Fears of Trade War, US PPI Rises above Expectations: https://www.fxempire.com/news/article/us-futures-rise-chinese-leadership-eases-fears-trade-war-us-ppi-rises-expectations-491815).
Still no strong words from Russia. Hope very much that this trend changes. Otherwise everything from SCO, OBOR, double helix to Astana will crumble and this crushing geopolitical defeat will bring Russia, China and all others to a subservient vassal state. Iran will be history soon, not to mention Syria. The world may stay unipolar with a much harsher and arrogant hegemon for many centuries to come. Lets hope for the best.
You might be right and I agree that Russia is way too silent. However, if one knows Putin a little better, one would conclude that Americans should be more concerned right now. If Putin threatens you, or speaks a lot he is simply bluffing. If he is silent though and you don’t hear from him for a few days – duck down and cover as he is into something.
And so far Putin has seemed to show the martial artist’s ability to judge the timing and target of a counterstrike with great effect.
It always seems like there’s a stretch when everyone is complaining that Putin hasn’t acted and acted stronger. Kinda like the crowd at an boxing fight starting to boo because there is no action while the fighters circle and look for openings. But then when Putin pulls the counterstrike, then it seems like he was just waiting and watching for his opponent to get themselves off-balance by even a bit and then taking advantage.
“The head of the Duma defense committee and former commander of Russian airborne troops has said Moscow would take all measures, including military ones, in response to a possible US strike on government forces in Syria.”
“The double standard policy has overstepped all possible boundaries. At this point, the [pro-Putin parliamentary majority] United Russia party must responsibly state that we are going to take all political and diplomatic measures, and also military measures if such need arises,” Vladimir Shamanov said on Tuesday before the State Duma plenary session. “Not a single unlawful action will be left without response,” he added.
https://www.rt.com/politics/423726-russia-syria-military-response/
At least there seems to be some patriots in Russia who can see it clear and who are standing against Atlanticists and Pacifists. We will see if Putin is the man, otherwise he may be bound to lose his enormous popularity in Russia.
This is the best and most important part of this article: “Russians should realize that having 20K rubles (300 dollars) salary is better than having 20 million dead people like in WW2. This is a small price to pay for being one of the last sovereign nations left in the world. In the long term, it is better to cut Russian dependency on Western technology, imports and markets.”
No. It is pro-Western piece of the article.
It is called autarkia, or isolation, or boycott, or iron curtain, etc.
This article demands Russia to roll in like a hedgehog and get away from “western markets”, so US can have it all.
But “western” means most of the world as of today.
Medieval Japan and China did the same. They tried to be independent upon technologies and markets of the world.
It slowed them down. They could not on alone move arms race as fast as west states did together. So West only had to wait enough for technology gap to grow and come crushing.
That is why West imposes sanctions on Russia and China, trying to isolate them from “their” markets. And the article calls Russia to do this voluntarily for the West’s benefits
Reducing dependence on AZ Empire is not necessarily Juche. There are 150+ other countries on Earth, and they potentially are our allies. It we can offer them more than just natural resources, if we can stand at a top of production chain in 20 out of 90 high tech industries.
I would guess that the Russians have (mostly) kept their powder dry regarding the extent of their EW capability. I don’t believe the S400s have been used in Syria yet and there are likely other means available in the theater. We can hope that a missile attack can be defeated from a distance. Typical MO is to take out the ‘eyes’ first. Can Russia defend her eyes including anti-sub capability?
What about a no fly zone? Is that why they’re looking for a coalition, UK and France?
It’s surreal that you even have to post this. I mean just step back for a minute and think about what we’re discussing here. Talk about brinksmanship. Say nothing of the fact that, now, they don’t even have to prove that someone gassed someone. Just get the annoying allegations part out of the way and move straight to ‘consequences’.
Western zombies are not holding these terrorists to task.
I’m pretty sure that if Russia sends a message that it will use a nuclear torpedo against the subs and ships that will be involved in the strike, the US may consider suppressing their striking urge.
Poseidon (Status-6) is not yet operational.
Russia has various torpedoes (T5, ACBSO) which are armed with a 10 ktn nuclear charge. Those torpedoes have been deployed in soviet subs since late 50s
Could this be (part of) the gathering AngloZionist Syrian strike force?
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-04-10/us-deploys-truman-carrier-strike-group-and-7-warships-cruise-missiles-mediterranean
Apparent confirmation from a Norfolk TV station.
http://www.13newsnow.com/article/news/military/harry-s-truman-carrier-strike-group-set-to-depart-for-deployment/291-536625074
And of course, not only the carrier and its aircraft, but one of these groups contains a good number of launch tubes that can fire off cruise missiles.
If this was all planned a month ago, then the US military is showing very slow reaction times in getting forces into position.
The reason why the outcome on the ground is not reversible is because Assad has won the battle for the hearts and minds of the people of Syria. Its not unanimous, of course. But apparently a sizeable majority have decided that Assad is better than the alternatives. And, since the Alternatives that the US/NATO offered the Syrian people was life with local and national government under the control of Al Qaida or ISIS, its not really surprising that Assad has looked the better choice. Especially for the parts of the Syrian population who are not of the Sunni faith, since they’d realize that when fanatical jihadist militants get power that they faced enslavement, death, torture etc.
America gave up any practical hope of actually governing Syria years ago when they gave up on any sort of democratic, secular opposition. When America (under Obama) made the completely evil decision that ‘winning’ in Syria meant supporting murderous, terrorist, Sunni fanatics, they gave up any hope of the regime change-reconstruction option that they used from the American South through Iraq. After that, its only possible goal is to cause as much death, destruction, pain and chaos as possible.
I have a couple of neighbors on my street that I don’t get along with for various reasons. I don’t continually try to have a meeting of the minds with them since the foundation words of intelligent discourse are not in their vocabulary. I just stay away and avoid the mental anguish. I don’t need them for anything and because of my revised attitude I have less stress in my life.
The Russian Federation may be better off to leave the United Nations.
I struggle to understand why the UN can’t punish the governments of charter countries that violate international statutes. What good does it do if the United States, a permanent member of the UNSC, decides to act unilaterally on its own and militarily attack another country granted with condonation from the ruling body? It tells me the application of the rule of law is not equal or just; it serves to bind the lesser nations while the countries of greater economic and military power can flaunt it at will.
Russia has tried every diplomatic measure to bring sanity to the discussion around what is going on in Syria but the U.S.-NATO alliance will hear none of it. So why does the Russian Foreign Ministry exasperate itself to all ends to put forth a logical process to resolve differences between the parties when the western faction chooses to flail away with bombastic hyperbole based on flimsy accusation and baseless evidence? Aaagh!
Разбитую чашку не склеишь (some things cannot be fixed). The UN is broken; it’s time to leave it.
The UN has stood by for twenty years while the US Reich destroyed several Countries from Yugoslavia to Libya,i can’t remember them speaking out against any of this Global carnage, the Reich doesn’t recognize International law or even domestic law that gets in their way.
Having a veto in the UN is worth something. Not a whole lot, since the US has shown repeatedly that they will violate the UN Charter Treaty by starting wars without the UNSC taking action. But its still worth a little to be able to veto Nutty Nikki’s crazy resolutions.
And of course its a good place to talk to the many countries of the world that are not NATO and not US occupied.
It might not be that desparate (I’m grasping a straw).
The US has sent a carrier group, which is ridiculous if they really mean to use it. Either they are totally mad (it would be sunk in minutes), or have calculated the Russians will cave, or its just for show. Anyway it will take 7 days or so to get there so it seems nothing is imminent.
Meanwhile OPCW are going into Syria, and assuming they find nothing, then the shows off.
Of course, the US realising this is a hoax may be forced to act prematurely.
I see elsewhere that China has ordered its navy to join the Russians in the event of a strike on Syria.
https://viewdailyupdates.wordpress.com/2018/04/10/china-orders-navy-to-join-russian-fleet/
If only half of what is in the link is true, then its goodnight Irene.
“Meanwhile OPCW are going into Syria, and assuming they find nothing, then the shows off.”
————–
Well now – do you think Mr Trump cancelled his visit just to have his show turn off?
My guess – they will strike before – or during – the OPCW visit. After all, it will be Russia’s fault if they die during a strike.
OPCW was rigged during last year’s crisis. They just accepted whatever evidence the jihadist fanatics told them or gave them and didn’t really investigate. And, OPCW hasn’t seemed to be following its own rules on the Skirpal farce recently. They’ve basically acted as a wing of the oxymoron known as British Intelligence.
My guess is that they wouldn’t be going if they already didn’t think they had a plan to rig it.
I simply cannot comprehend why people still seem to rely on the OPCW, when it has proved, time after time, that it is yet another corrupt, totally Western-controlled, sham.
Trump cancelled his visit because the FBI raised his lawyer home and business
OPCW is going into Douma. Syria and Russian forces guaranteeing safety.
How long it takes to go is of course the key.
Like OSCE, they are obviously staffed with assholes on a leash from the Hegemon.
Don’t forget that psychotic clown Bolton made threats against the former leader of the OPCW Jose Bustani, before the Gulf War Bustani wouldn’t go along with the script from Washington re WMD,Bolton paid him a visit and said you need to be gone within 24hours,we know where your Kids live, thats the sort of gangster on Trumps team ,he more like a Mob Boss.
One of the things that became obvious with the “UN Inspectors” who went to Iraq before/between those wars was that they were heavily infiltrated with CIA, MI6 and other spies. Either the western governments had the pull to put their people into the jobs, or they were able to buy them off or otherwise recruit them afterwards.
But its probably best to think of this group of inspectors as a bunch of CIA and MI6 spies.
Its crossed my mind if its there job to pull the old US cop trick of planting evidence on someone before arresting them?
I would put 3) under another internal politics issue. Its not so much the Israelis that a strike would aim to please, as it would be the big money from people like casino owner Sheldon Adleson gives to Trump and American politicians.
Its not the case, as is usually claimed on the internet, that Israel controls the USA. What the case is that Israel and American politicians are controlled by the same people. Adleson was a big supporter to both Trump and Netanyahu. Adleson provided a large amount of money at a key moment in the anti-Hillary campaign, and surely he’d be looked to in order to fund mid-term elections. Its not that Netanyaho controls Trump, but Adleson and others like him do. So, if Netanyahu says he wants something, its that if Trump says not then the next call Trump takes is from Adleson telling him that he’s thinking about holding back his ‘donations’, but who will contribute generously if Trump does what Adelson and thus Netanyahu want.”
Sometimes its only a subtle difference. But it is important to truly understand a situation if you want to try to rectify it. American campaign finance reform might seem completely disconnected from WW3 starting in Syria, but the wide open nature of money and American politics is a big part of what’s going on. Thank Bill Clinton for destroying the last of the Watergate reforms and making sure that crooked politicians can have unlimited and untraceable money flowing to them. Then thank Ronnie Reagan for the concentration of American media into a few hands so that every outlet now broadcasts the same fake-news or else ends up on a propORnot llist.
I’d say it seems rather likely that the drop in the Russian stock market Monday was an economic attack.
LOL
Who cares that much about stock ponzi?
Russian companies just take the opportunity to buy back share.
Few months later they would sell them with profit.
What matters is what affecting real production.
The sanctions prohibiting RusAl from exporting and selling aluminium do matter. That was real and serious. Stocks volatility is not.
Real and serious to whom? Rusal was one of USAs major suppliers. The Americans will now have to find an alternative source of aluminium at much higher prices (since the sanctions, price of aluminium has shot up)…
Good news is that a Carrier Strike Group is supposedly on the way, about four days out…. which means that the chemical weapons “story” will be forgotten by then. Of course they can always pull another out of their ass, there’s probably thousands of such desolate places even in Detroit where such things could be easily filmed, but the shelf life of the whole narrative has probably expired by now.
The US will need to look like the righteous, omnipotent champion of course which means they’ll have to gain some meaningless concession.
What are tactical nukes good for if not exactly for this moment?
Russia has them and needs to “show” that they mean to defend Syria, themselves, their role hard won in the ME and to enforce the Rule of Law. The UN must be made to work as an institution or the whole globe turns into a street fight whenever the Hegemon wants to destroy some nation.
Nukes preserve order. But you must show full willingness to use them.
Bring them on Iskanders and show the US Mil that their 4000 men and 14 bases will be dust if one Russia is touched.
That no attempt at gaining air dominance and creating a No Fly Zone is possible.
And then you have the standoff you want. It gets settled with diplomats not weapons.
By the way, Ukraine just grabbed another Russian ship, near Odessa.
This is easy to stop. Use Spetsnaz and Aerospace. Blow the fuckers up in their tracks.
It’s War. The Russians are playing by the Rules of the Dojo. The fight is in the Streets and Alleys.
Ukies need all their teeth kicked in. Now!
The Hegemon has to be shown the nukes. Now!
Wouldn’t it become a WWIII, if Russia started now to use nukes?
I said “show” them. I didn’t say use them.
The idea is a mini-MAD doctrine. “Attack and you lose 14 bases and 4000 men.”
The US is illegally in Syria, for starters. US is frustrating the fight against Islamic terror, bankrolling certain groups, arming groups all hell-bent on destroying a nation Russia came to defend.
Tactical nukes evens the calculus against US and NATO overwhelming capabilities.
Simply demonstrate the seriousness of the situation.
From my younger years—I always fought fights when outnumbered by grabbing one assailant and putting him in death hold, an arm lock or some very painful immobilizing grasp that then gave me leverage over the others.
“Continue and your brother’s arm is snapped, this piece of shit gets his neck broken.”
Never had to continue. They always backed off.
Know your enemy and exploit his strengths or his weaknesses.
US mil does not want to take a massive death toll.
There are plenty of Trump backers who are hoping he will not wage a war in Syria. He promised, before he was President, to get out .
He is in a very weak political spot right now with the 2018 elections. If Republicans lose majority, Trump will be impeached and probably convicted in a Senate trial. He will surely only have one term. He’s done in 2020 if the US blunders in Syria.
If Putin publicly warns the world that no strike is permissible, a massive loss would finish the US military unless it wants to go total Armageddon. Meaning, all life is lost.
This isn’t even a real chem attack. It’s a phony False Flag.
Going to war would be seen in the US as folly and wagging the dog (covering for his domestic problems).
Thus, bring nukes into the theatre and let the MIC and neocons know they will lose massively if they attack.
You’ll have to do it in Ukraine if you take a hit in Syria. They will launch the Ukies and NATO at Donbass and Russia if Syria works for them.
You have no choice. Go mini-MAD.
In the spirit of this strategy, what if the RF simply gave Syria several dozen tactical nukes for self defense?
The US military specializes in attacking non-nuclear powers. Would the generals still attempt a decapitation strike with Tomahawks if the response could be nuclear, against every NATO asset engaging with Syria?
FWIW, the French also have several secret bases in Syria. The French public, like the Americans, are mostly ignorant of this. Macron could be asked to choose between his participation in the war party, or all of his soldiers coming home in body bags.
» What are tactical nukes good for if not exactly for this moment? «
Precisely. And yet, you’ll wait and yearn in vain.
Think about it: Uncle Sam has an array of strictly military targets in foreign lands around the globe, many of which, particularly in the Middle East, are in sparsely populated areas, some even on small, purely military islands.
These are perfectly legitimate military targets that have been begging for decades to be nuked.
Can be done without collateral damage. Okay, some pollution, but who cares.
And yet it has never happened. And it will never happen.
And the reason is that it cannot happen. Because “nukes” are a scam and a fraud and a hoax and a seven decades old deception. Nonsense on stilts. No science, all fiction.
There is no magic bullet.
“Nukes are a scam and a fraud”. Lol, Lol! Really? Ever heard of Nagasaki and Hiroshima? If you haven’t I don’t blame you for espousing nonsense of order one.
US carrier strike group is on it’s way to Eastern Mediterranean and should arrive around April 22n or 3rd per Zero hedge. US is clearly doing everything it can to frighten Russia into backing down.
Having thought about the appropriate response, I’ve concluded the best one is to take a hostage; essentially Syria and Hizbullah should retaliate against Israel and not US forces. Russia can provide whatever support it can short of actually shooting. The missile barrage against Israel should continue until the US backs off.
Russia should not fire at US forces unless 1) the US actually attacks Russian forces directly, and 2) the Russians are confident they can win.
The main fighting should be by Syria, Hizbullah and Iran. Iran should now be asked to move whatever forces it can to Syria.
I think it more appropriate for Syria to unveil the prisoners/hostages it already has along with all the western provided chemical munitions and manufacturing equipment recently captured.
Russia’s lack of military response to US incursions into Syria have persuaded the Americans that Russia will not fight them. Whether or not the Americans are right still remains to be seen.
Cat Pillar
Lack of response ? You have not been following the situation thoroughly. When the US Navy fired those Tomahawks last year, they were intercepted by Russian electronics. Yes, Israel has been bombing Syrian targets, firing missiles from Lebanon. Last time they crossed into Syria, they lost at least one F-16 and one chopper. Russia won’t be provoked. Russians are known for their patience. They know what they are doing. I don’t think the same can be applied to the US military.
The update looks good but the Deep State pushed Trump to the wall with the breakin in his lawyer house and office…and all those stollen documents. No coincidence here.
Maybe the Russians and Americans haven’t agreed with the missiles path and final destination.
If US jumps over Point 1 in Saker’s List , the ” Syrian ” Bastion or other coastal defence systems ( do they have at least one yellow Submarine ? ) can destroy the missiles platforms ( destroyers, frigates…). It is cheaper and more effective.
So, the first missiles will fly. If they go to the empty T4 airfield, then it’s ok. Others can follow.
But if they go wrong and don’t follow GPS signals, their points of origin might blow up.
Everything can happen, this global warming is gonna kill us sooner than later.
From ye olde moderator: “Sherlock, thanks so much for reminding me about the dangers of global warming. I had completely forgotten about that. Cheers!
“So, the first missiles will fly. If they go to the empty T4 airfield, then it’s ok. Others can follow.
But if they go wrong and don’t follow GPS signals, their points of origin might blow up.”
One could dream the US missiles being reprogrammed in flight and made to return to base. Alternatively they could be encouraged to visit Israel.
sherlock, did you see the recent UN expert body’s warning that ‘..global ecological collapse is imminent’? It’s not really a laughing matter.
Mulga,
I haven’t watched TV for so, so long. What could be a natural warming cycle ,( if any and not helped by military apps or engineering ) the malefic use of it is to forbid people of having kids and control the world population and encourage same sex behaviors. After all this hype and show and Natural Geographic, etc… go in the mankind mentality…boom the laws.
Would you dare marry and have kids ? You might go to jail for ” killing Mother Nature ” .
Dr. Watson showed me a Chart about human race live expectancy. The next 10 to 30 years is highly likely, then drops to likely the next 10,and drops again to ZERO the next 10 and finally drops to Mariana Trench for the remaining time to infinite.
So,in about 50 years from now on (a lucky scenario, see the last posts on The Saker ),how much the weather can change. ?
@ Norwegian…i dedicate you the Norwegian Wood ( The Beatles )
If that kind of puke, err, warning, came out of some UN so-called ‘expert’ body, you can be assured that it’s a hoax. Global warmings have been and will again be, and about 900 million years from now they will destroy the earth as we know her. But they are not caused by normal human activity whatsoever.
The culprit of current wild meteorologic extremes and fluctuations are caused by illegal large scale and world wide geo-engineering, done on purpose by the same governments who are trying to sell us the human-caused global warming danger story. This is all part of their agenda, and a rather sinister one that is…
The Syrian air defenses will certainly engage. Also, if there are any situations where the equipment is officially Syrian but there are Russian advisers there, then those Russians engage.
The Russians have drawn their lines in the sand. They’ve said that there are Russians with the Syrians and that bombing Syrians might well be attacking Russians. They seem to be indicating that the Russian owned and operated systems would certainly engage any incoming missiels towards targets in Syria. They’ve also threatened to destroy ‘platforms’ that launch the missiles. That threat is enough to make the incoming attacks be either long range cruise missiles or AS missiles launched from aircraft over Lebanon.
So, one question is: do they engage planes violating Syrian airspace? That seems to be likely at this point. Could claim they are doing so at the invitation of the Syrian government, as well as protecting their own personel. Not that claims matter in the west, but it does provide at least an opening for this not turning into WW3 because there is some bit of room for the hotheads to backpeddle.
Do the Russians try to engage platforms over another country or in international waters? That’s possible, but I’m guessing the Russians won’t as that truly would kick off a shooting war.
My guess is that the threat to take out firing platforms means the US generals will keep their expensive planes out of reach. Thus this will be in the category of a symbolic strike. If they want to send a message, that means bigger than the last one. But since most of the US long-range missiles don’t seem to find their targets in Syria these days, that means multiple missiles need to be aimed at a target if you want to try to insure a ‘kill’. Which limits how many targets such a strike can be aimed at. If they think this is the start of protracted air campaign, the targets will be mostly air-defense. If its a one-off attack to show how tough Trump is, then he’ll blow up some buildings that have been long evacuated because every US bombing victim has seen these attacks before.
Of course, if the Russians really think this is the start of a shooting war no matter what, then they might be tempted to strike first. That’s the real danger of these games of escalation and playing chicken. The fact that your enemy might believe that you are going to war no matter what so that they might as well try to knock you on your butt first. That essentially was FDR pre-Pearl Harbor as one historical example.
They should take out those illegal US bases in Syria if it kicks off.
I sincerely hope the Anglo-Zionists will not do anything stupid. Even if they only attacked Syrian targets, I find it difficult to believe that the Russians would sit back and look on. Last year when Trump attacked that Syrian Air Force base, the US Navy had to fire two volleys of Tomahawk missiles. In the first volley they fired 30 missiles. One misfired, and all of the remaining 29 missiles were intercepted by Russian electronics and steered away from the base. The US Navy fired a second volley of 30 missiles. This time the Russians did not interfere, as apparently they wanted to see the efficiency of the missiles. Not one hit the runway. A few hit some hangers, destroying 5 old Syrian planes which were being serviced. Some hit the earth around the runways. others fell on villages, killing civilians. The base was fully operational 24 hours after the attack.
It would be nice if the US could have a meeting with Russia over Syria and a deal being struck. If a meeting is indeed scheduled for next week, that is good news. However, that meeting could be used as a ruse with the US striking Syria before that.
At any rate, we do have a dangerous situation. The neocons in the US cannot accept defeat, still believing in their propaganda nonsense that the US military is invincible. That is what is dangerous, as it could instigate a wider war.
You always say that Continental Europe is pro-russian, but have no explanation why France wants to join the airstrikes against Syria. Merkel gave cover for the attack as well by saying that “the evidence is very clear” that Assad is behind the attack. Imo you don’t understand Europe. This is no longer Europe of 2002, of Schröder and Chirac.
Europe is very liberal now, and liberals no matter the country hate Russia with passion. Just look at the new hatred towards Russia by european green parties or by Guy Verhofstadt, the leader of the liberals in the EU parliament.
Scandinavia is seen as the way to follow by all progressive europeans, and Scandinavia is very anti-russian. Are you aware of the former PM of Denmark begging the US to continue to be the World policeman?
Are you aware of France blocking the reporters of russian media outlets? Of many german foreign policy experts crying about the weakening of the “Liberal World Order”?
Are you aware that Europe supported heavily Hillary Clinton?
Are you aware that according to surveys, paradoxically Western Europeans hate Russia more than Eastern Europeans?
https://www.unz.com/akarlin/hajnal-russophilia/

I do understand Europe. Macron is a Rothschild;s banker. Merkel has US troops on German soil. However, German industrialists are in Russia, conducting negotiations. Continental Europe responded with symbolic expulsions of Russian diplomats, By the way, who won the elections in Hungary ? As for liberals on the Continent, they are either influenced or controlled by the elites, and do not represent the bulk of the population. Bankers love them, but not industrialists.
The European elites are pro-Empire because the Empire guarantees their wealth, power and prestige. The proles DO NOT count.
Here is a message from TELUS (phone/internet/communication service provider in Canada) “Started from 6th of April 2018 messages from “en alerte” will be disseminated on the compatible mobile devices. You cannot opt out from these messages.” My very incomplete translation from French.
I’v never seen messages that creepy. Friends I talked to are convinced that survivors (of whatever event their plan) will be shipped to the nearest FEMA camp and dealt with accordingly.
I hope that mr Putin will pull out a rabbit out of his hat and turn the impossible into possible. We don;t need this war and we do not consent. On our side, we will do what ever we can.
I don’t know precise details but your comment here seems to me reminiscent of the texts to devices sent to Israelis warning them to not go to work / avoid WTC 911.
Very sinister indeed.
I’ve been reading the latest posts very carefully, not really understanding all the technicalities. However, there is a range of perspectives from: no nukes- they are a fiction, to nuclear winter at any moment.
I’m guessing the PTB are playing the old game of just drawing ‘it’ all out, removing excess population by whatever means, as they profiteer, all the while cutting deals to divvy up the spoils as they go along.
For them, it is ‘fun’, creating the fears, deaths and destructions, salivating at the thoughts of rebuilding, after the war is over. Nothing like traumatized-into-numbness slave survivors to do their bidding, no questions asked, for a few crumbs.
This seems to me to be the historical pattern.
Since we are discussing arms technology and deployment here, would someone explain to me exactly what the Russians used a couple of years ago to shut down and totally incapacitate the USS Donald Duck missile destroyer in the Black Sea so that it could barely make it back to a port? It was obviously some sort of EM or scalar weapon, and it was deployed from a single fighter plane as opposed to a full sized bomber.
maybe nothing.
There is no reliable evidense anything worse hapoenned to Cook than temporary radars blindness from old “Khybiny” hammer pod.
And what reportedly (rumours after rumours after rumours) freaked Cook crew out was not the lonely airfighter but when coastal defence installation suddenly turned their radars on in battle mode and locked in on the ship in pre-launch mode.
el Gallinazo…
It was ” Khibiny”.
Here this will explain it:

Dios proteja a Siria y Rusia. Recuerda, reza todos estos dias que vienen.
Thank you Carmel. Interesting article.
Arioch – I find your explanation less than convincing.
Some halfbaked thinking: What about…
providing the pentaginians with an unexpected bigger problem, i.e. how to avoid a great pending humilation somewhere else, for instance in iraq or Afghanistan. Sudden mighty attack on the Green Zone in Bagdad so that the americans must be liftet out Saigon style. Cut off the supply lines to bases in Afghanistan, no lorries up through Pakistan, mounting threats to air transport.
It’s easy to figure out what the f%&^ing stupidest, chosen people on the face of the earth want. Turn America into a bankrupt ex-superpower and then offer to suck Uncle Putin’s peepee if he doesn’t beat them up.
This Harry Truman strike group must not be allowed to reach the Mediteranian.
Things will become unnecessarily complicated if they come too close.
Extra long distance, high precision missiles? This is the time to use them. Norfolk is just fine
Syria is off the RNZ spin radio . . . . for today.
Today’s spin is U.N./ Libya.
You can count on RNZ, even though the “Head of News” just vacated the position, to tell you which way the MSM is playing.
https://africa.cgtn.com/2018/04/10/armed-groups-carry-out-mass-torture-inside-libya-prison-says-un/
Libya is Syria’s future if the Zionazis and their verminous Western fakestream media liars prevail.
The situation looks really dire, and I feel the same way as Lloyd Christmas played by Jim Carey in the movie Dumb and Dumber.
That’s it! I’ve had it with this dump! We’ve got no food, we got no jobs, our pet’s heads are falling off!!!
On a serious note; If the AZ is really planning this then the situation is hopeless for the world, including the AZ. Not only can the Russians hit back, they also have the adv on many important aspects of the military. As the saker has expertly shown through his numerous articles on this site. .
Also Iran is no weakling either. I don’t know to much about their military, but I know the view they have on this world, and especially oppressive regimes. Just to give the readers of this site an idea. I recall a quote I read years ago from the founder of the Islamic revolution Aya’ tullah al Khomeini and I’m paraphrasing “The blood of a martyr is a bell that wakes up a thousand souls.” And Khomeini isn’t talking about the fake martyrs produced by Hollywood and the other Zionist affiliates. He’s talking about a selfless man who gives his life for a just cause. If the Iranians(and hizbullah) are still true to the principals of the founder of their revolution, they will never give up to the AZ clique. I really believe they will fight down to the last man or women.
Syrians have to use their own anti-aircraft to the best of their ability. Serbia did, and it was attacked by 19 NATO countries at once. There were 1,000 planes bombing it and cruise missiles. They did shoot down and damage way more than the west admitted.
Russia really should have brought in more S-400 and missiles though. It is better to be prepared than be caught short-handed.
Would you rather have them in Syria or outside of Moscow and St. Petersberg?
If zombie NATOists escalate war against Syria / Iran / RF, Iran and RF (I think Syria is in no condition to do that) should make it very expensive for NATOists. If they swarm Syria with missiles, RF should missile / torpedo swarm prime NATO naval assets in Mediterranean Sea up to tactical nuclear strikes against NATO fleet if necessary. Strike even NATO airfields. I see no other option, as RF / Iran are badly outnumbered in planes, ships and ordnance. Really time for Chinese to step in somehow, at least in words, but I believe it is rather unlikely. Cyprus/Italy/Greece/Turkey should forbid use of their bases against Syria (except Turkey maybe, unlikely IMO). Let’s just hope sanity prevails. Otherwise we might see last very big global fireworks.
this is a catch 22 situation the warmongers prefer it, in this way, they can keep their sleeping masses in perpetual fear of war so that they have ‘consent by default’ to invest another zillion on armaments .Hardware has to be rolled out ,to show everyone how shiny and powerful they are, though they contribute zilth to security and well being of anyone ,except for the benefit of the psychopaths in wall street and the neocons.Come on folks get used to it ,when did they ,the ruling classes ,ever have us long lasting peace ,stop dreaming, it won’t happen in their watch. If it is not ‘MONSTER’ assad and ‘EVIL’ putin it would be some other leaders who dream of good things for their citizens away from the thieving hands of the banking warmongers.
As one master neocon told a journalist,”we create reality on the ground and as you are analysing that we are creating new ones”…with the internet they have complete control over everyone now.The good book was right when it said,”the mark of the beast in your palm or forehead” is here. Now everybody needs ID for almost everything and worthless paper money for everything and work like slaves, just to put a roof over the head, raise a family and have wheels to travel to do just thatl.Everymorning we are informed ,who is our enemy and who is our friends by the talking heads in the mass media ,and who ,”gonna pay”.
The evangelist among these psychopaths have a wet dream, to see damascus burnt to crisp so that they can ascent to heaven.Creeps,we will all have the psychopaths with us forever cause they have the need to tell ‘others’ what to do and these make the best politicians…”my way or the high way”, folks will always keep us constantly enslaved in fear”.Banker politician terrorists. They are the monsters not the muslim, jew or christian these are all slaves.
Meanwhile the boy king Macron – whilst the Saudi boy prince is in Paris – follows orders along with his allies US/UK (and Germany) and is going to bomb “chemical capabilities” in Syria:
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201804101063413975-france-macron-unsc-syria-truce-russia-violation/
Those behind the Skripal case become more and more obvious for all the world to see…..funny how the Saudi boy prince has been present in all 3 countries when major attacks on Russia have occurred over the last month…..what about Gaza and Yemen?
Russia has just blocked the US UNSC resolution as predicted:

…and “chemical capabilities”…sufficiently specific but vague…could be admin…military ..planes…ammo dumps…does anyone ask how they define those….course not.
Looks like the Fort Russ site is under a denial of service attack. Can’t access it at the moment. It’s timing out.
Please take any further comments about attacks on other sites to the MFC. Mod.
Just wondrin…usa would guess Russia uses its veto(cos usa been trying to change veto system)…might try to catch Russia off guard in the lull after the UNSC meeting……so would they already be prepared to act just before the OPCW arrives in an effort to reclaim what they think is their high ground of indignation and blame…therefore denying the inspection by OPCW but still saying of course it happened? And if they act without UN Resolution as for Libya…would Russia be thinking of taking more strongarm action against usa uk macron as they could say international law is breaking down or close down a discredited UN to set up another worldtalking forum of some sort…just wondrin…just wondrin…wondrin.
Micron is simply a creation of the Zionazis in France. He follows orders from Bibi, via the CRIF. The Zionazis DEMAND that Syria ends up like Libya. Their unbridled HATRED, as ever, drives them on, and Yahweh help any Sabbat Goy slave who fails to follow orders. I saw Norman Finkelstein, a Jew who the Zionazis attempted to destroy (even slandering his mother)for speaking the truth about Israel’s barbarity, on YouTube, attempting to explain Goldstone’s lamentable about turn on his Gaza Report, when he suddenly recanted on one detail of the Report into the ritual child butchery. This, despite all the other members of the panel (being goyim, they are irrelevant)outright rejecting his recantation, allowed the Zionazis and their scum in the fakestream media to reject the entire Report.
It was well-known that Goldstone had faced VICIOUS slander from the Zionazis over the Report. He was accused, of course, of ‘antisemitism’,of being a ‘kapo’ (extermination camp guard)forbidden to attend his own grandson’s bar mitzvah etc. But Finkelstein is convinced that he was blackmailed, too. The record of surrender by various public figures in the West to Zionazi demands over the years, simply reeks of blackmail and threats, and, coming from a power that has murdered more of its prominent enemies than almost any other state in recent history, I’m not surprised that it is highly efficacious.
Retaliate against israel.
As I see it, the fleets on the Syrian shore are are an attempt to stage a new “Pearl Harbor”. Force the Russians to sink a few ships by have an overwhelming mass of missiles, that even the Russian air defence can’t cope with (in Syria). Then you have the pretext for the war against Russia……for which the NATO, especially in Europe, is not ready yet, they need time to build roads and railways to the east, fitting for tank transportation (why these clowns think, the Russians would watch this happen is a mystery).
If we hear tomorrow that the evil Russians sunk a few ships without provocation or “to defend the animal Assad” then we know…..they will start a long war….or they think they can handle this that way……as Saker said, we talk about crazies……
With nuclear weapons, it won’t be a long war.
> It is too late, militarily speaking, to try to reverse the situation
Questionable.
1. Before NATO invasion Libyan army was taking an upper hand against Al Qaeda. Just like SAA today. NATO did turned the tides.
2. Before the whole Syrian war started “the situation on ground” was even better for SAA than today. But year by year 2011-2015 Syria/Iran was overwhelmed and pushed back. Russian army in 2015 became the weight that tipped the balance. NATO open invasion could (at the risk of WW3) neuter that added weight and move the balance back to pre-2015 state, where SAA was slowly retreating again and again.
Saker
Russia has stated it would/could strike back at “launch systems” in the event of attack.
I assume, this means ships.
Would you have an opinion on the likelyhood of that happening? Would they dare strike a Ship, would that mean a definate escalation? (ie, would a stuck ship incurr further strikes?)
Personally, I’d cheer if a launch system was destroyed, though I’d be a bit concerned about mushroom clouds!
If there is war and i m sure there will be one……then let the war result in a non-nuclear confrontation in which the US empire will end its era and its crooks will end in prison for the rest of their lives.
The update content is not a sign of hope Saker. It is just a short break from a plan that has been carefully made already during the late 70’s. The USA will not abandon this plan and the doctrine Wesley Clarck made public.
When this false flag is exposed they will simply make another false flag with false accusations. This is Always the way the USA started wars and they Always will continue to do so.
Saker as a dutch citizen I’m not zombified; there are souls wakening up even here; but we are surpressed by our media. Our voices were at a dayly base deleted on social media. Our accounts were multiple times banned and deleted by the likes of Zuckerberg and the prestitute newspapers and online forums.
Meanwhile all im doing now is prepping and hoarding for the times to come. I swear to God that my adult kids wont spill their blood for the sake of this insane politicians and criminals.
God bless you all and have mercy with the innocent people of this world
ReneR,
I am so greatfull to Mighty God, when I realize that not all hopes are gone.
People like you are giving me hope that, even though sun is not rising on the west, there is still hope that these banksters won’t make their plans reality.
I am Serb living in Nort America and so much tempted to go back to my motherland thse days, ’cause at every corner I turn, I see zombies around me…even bunch of Serbs living here.
It’s not question whether, you are Russian, Dutch, an American, or Serb, but rather, if you are on side of God, or satan…period. There is no in between.
We are choosing right side now, which will have effect on our life after death.
God bless
The issue isn’t Russia, it’s the west. Its the phenomenon of ‘you are either with us or against us’ but for domestic consumption. Instead of a war on terror originated with hubris, this seems a war waged by elites on their own ‘democrac’ constituencies using external spectres as a figleaf to obscure, to those constituencies, their own fear and project strength using military aggression in the name of human rights instrumentalised through an ironically inquisitorial mode of justice
which contradicts their own fundamental principles.
Netanyahu: Trump Is Very Likely To Order Attack On Syria
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-04-10/netanyahu-trump-very-likely-order-attack-syria
The Russians should get a couple of subs off the coast of the western US and take out the tech sector in Silicon Valley. That will hit the US where it will hurt the most.
Nah! Nobody would even miss it slightly. The same goes for most of California.
The US tech sector is now located in India.
The UK are normalizing the term WMDs within the security council, so that by inference nukes are ok.. honestly gotta plant potatoes, Siberia will be safer!
Dmitry Orlov appears quite sanguine about the current situation….
http://cluborlov.blogspot.co.uk/2018/04/the-importance-of-looking-dangerous.html
It is far more than time for Xi sending of a symbolic parachutist batallion to ONE of Syria´s bases.
That would teach the war cabinet in DC that their rotten empire is over.
“top level Russia-US meeting over Syria is scheduled for next week”
So what? The West does not compromise and so there are only two possible outcomes from such a meeting: Russia “compromises” which means the permanent partitioning of Syria; or there is no agreement as the facts on the ground change for the better.
Useless meeting — unless the AZE is formally backing down; standing down; backing off; or surrendering? Ho ho ho.
Brrrr so much fear mongering in the comment section…
What will happen? Noooothing!
The US Navy naval group won’t even enter the Mediterranean Sea but sail along
West Africa. Remember the 2-3 carrier groups heading towards DPRK then suddenly
sailing south to Australia. Same sh!t different day from the orange peac@ck and his ‘mad dogs’.
Mega blustering to coerce the BRI-Alliance to give up something in return.
Won’t happen because the US got the weaker hand.
Imagine this time around all 100% of the tomahawks fail. LOL. Über failure. Loss of prestige.
Noone would ever buy US MIC products again. Eveeeeeer. :D
Food for thoughts dear MIC.
The bit with that aircraft carrier and North Korea was a clear case of the US military refusing an order from their commander-in-chief. In other words, exactly what many are hoping to happen to save humanity this time around.
“Über failure. Loss of prestige.”
This is an important point. If the West does not attack then what is left of its credibility (even at home) will be severely damaged. If the West does attack then I for one expect it to be defeated and humiliated. So this is the Kobayashi Maru test for the West — the no-win scenario.
I’ve criticised this meeting being planned by the Swedes (lol what a joke) but now I expect the US will “YUGELY” and “BIGLY” lose face as it stands down. A victory for the resistance and the following scalp will be…um…scalped — Theresa May of the UK. That’s my prediction.
‘This is an important point. If the West does not attack then what is left of its credibility (even at home) will be severely damaged.’
not so… they could find that the gas attack was a hoax (which it was)…
this is the US way out… saving face & keeping the credibility…by being truthful & credible…
imagine that!
there is another option – the most dangerous.. The empire is on the way down and knows that time is its enemy.Behind all the false rhetoric and staged incidents you can sense desperation – there are those that believe that it is now or never if hegemony is to be mantained. It would be very unwise to rule out warfare at this stage. You know as well as everyone else that unless they subdue Russia now – they never will. That is what makes it a very dangerous time in my opinion. Whilst expecting the worst I hope for the best. Peace to all men of good will!
my thoughts to..
Psalm 23 King James Version (KJV)
23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Could someone explain this to me please:
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-04-09/russia-considers-dropping-dollar-euro-oil-trade-iran-and-turkey
Russia is using the dollar even to trade oil with Iran. Did you get that?
Russia and Iran must use the Dollar even to do oil trade between each other.
The AZE-drafted Russian Constitution ties the Russian currency to the dollar. That’s my understanding of the strange state of affairs at the Russian Central Bank.
Not only that, but many Iranians still hoard dollars to prevent their savings from being evaporated. Since the Iranian financial authorities seem powerless to stabilize the rial in the foreseeable future, they should at the very least persuade their citizens to use yuan instead.
In 2013 Russia sold P-800 “Yakhont” anti-ship missiles to Syria. The export version of these anti-ship missiles is limited in range to 120-300 km; the version for the Russian army has a (unconfirmed) range of 600 km. The USS Donald Cook is 100-150 km from Syria. This means that if US warships get hit by Syrian anti-ship missiles Russia has plausible denial.
Hi All,
May be many Human are going to die. I cannot support this perspective. We must unite and pray behind Russia and Syria, for alle the brave who fight this war, and for the civilian who suffer so much.
Many guy are very capable on this blog. But nothing about the possibility to make kaputt the attacking missile with electronic counter measure (Krasuka?) or low frequency or thing like that.
We’ve all been assuming that any attack by US/UK/French missiles will be successful to some degree. But will it? What will happen when they launch 100+ cruise missiles and very few, maybe even none at all hit their targets?
When the US launched cruise missiles a year ago half of them just wandered off and most of the other half hit dirt and not the actual target. As another commenter mentioned the Russians chose to counter the first wave of 30 cruise missiles successfully with ECM and let the second wave of 30 through. Maybe to test another type of ECM that was less successful? No matter what happened exactly the launch last year was a complete joke with regard to effectiveness. And I don’t believe the Russians even went all-out with their bag of tricks back then.
The american cruise missile is an outdated piece of equipment verging on obsolescence built by contractors who try to scam every dollar they can into their own pockets. Even without jamming and plenty of preparation time around 10% of them are said to wonder off to god knows where on their own. The other 90% fly towards the target area but have a hard time to accurately hit it. Lot’s of ‘near-misses’. And almost hitting the target equals completely missing it.
I’m starting to wonder if this what the Russians refer to when they talk of ‘grave consequences’. One consequence with grave repercussions I can think off would be a big US strike which (almost) completely fails. It’s like the child pointing out that the emperor wears no clothes.
And if the cruise missiles fail as I expect them to, what alternatives does the US have left? Use it’s air force? Please recall the Israeli F-16 shot down recently (and the damaged F-15). Neither pilot seems to have been aware they were being targeted until hit. How many aircraft would they be willing to lose, even to Syrian air defenses firing with the guidance of state of the art Russian trackers? I don’t see that happening.
I’ll admit, I’ve been anxious the last few days but the more I think about it the more I start to doubt that the US can do meaningful damage with a cruise missile strike if the Russians choose to turn on the jammers.
And it would also give the Russians an excuse to target terrorists shielded by the US and Israel in Al-Tanf and Along the Israeli border with a Kalibr strike of their own. Only the Russian cruise missiles hit with great accuracy. Imagine how that would look to the world?
This question was explored a little in a previous article:
/so-it-was-the-invincible-tsahal/#comment-508047
My feeling/fear is that “grave consequences” refers to something else.
With the emphasis on a little. First, it’s an assumption that the INS or other vital systems onboard a US cruise missile cannot be jammed/disabled/spoofed. As I said, I doubt that the Russian used all of their tricks last year. It’s also an assumption that when they turn of the GPS that it stays turned off during the flight (remember they are full of chips and electronics that are made in China).
The US has consistently relied on GPS targeting for it’s missiles and still gets poor accuracy. When solely relying on INS these missiles will be landing all over the place. I seriously doubt they can get decent accuracy with just INS. Which would have much the same result, missiles falling all over the place and few actually hitting worthwhile targets. It still paints a picture of incompetence.
This may also be why they are moving their ships so close to shore. They hope to get at least some hits that way. Which is suicide against an opponent willing and capable to strike back as they will be in range of land based ASM’s. Whether they can get away with it in Syria remains to be seen but if true it means their missiles (and the ships equipped with them) are almost useless for attacking Russia and Russian targets.
It also leaves them open to EW attacks against the launching ships. Taking out the launchers doesn’t necessarily require kinetic strikes. We know the Russians have been investing heavily in electronic warfare and are probably generations ahead of the west. And US warships tend to have very little and outdated defenses against electronic warfare.
It is prudent to consider the recent actions of the Israelis in the greater scheme of things. Not only did they attack the T4 base, but they did so in a way that, at least at first, made the attack look like it was conducted by the Americans.
When a joint French and US attack on Syria happens (and lets face it, it will), the Israelis might use that opportunity to attack the Russians, Iranians, or Syrian civilian infrastructure and in the confusion it’s likely to appear that the US really did do it.
What has to be remedied is the US led west staging a false flag and vilifying someone, anyone, when they have a need to change the subject or score some propaganda points. As it stands now the US et al sling their BS anytime they feel like it and this is a dangerous mindset for everyone.
What Russia, with or without China, can do about this situation remains unclear but starting a very big war by some foolhardy out of proportion reaction is not going to help. I say reaction because any proactive strike would be tantamount to a dangerous escalation that would have to be topped by the Imperium if they are to remain seen as the Imperium. This means that Russia must play a very nuanced part to control the overt actions that the Imperium will take. I write this on the assumption of the Saker’s analysis being correct that NATO could if it so chose bring to bear overwhelming force in the Syrian theater that could destroy any opposition it has there.
American policy for at least the last eight years or so has been a long series of provocations aimed at Russia. One provocation after another, where the corporate west oligarchy seems to want to provoke a war with Russia. And Russia has indeed been responding with nuanced care.
This drives the people on the internet nuts, as they thing everyone should act like an MMA fighter before the fight and yell threats and insults back and forth.
Same thing has been going on with China as well. Same policy of constant provocations dating back to the time when Hillary was running her pay to play scam at the State Dept.
Time is on Russia’s side. Time is on China’s side. Putin has made Russia stronger has he’s staved off all of these provocations. China is growing stronger as well.
There are two dangers in the situation, either of which could destroy humanity. One is that the lunatics of the modern Reich decide that time is against them and that there best chance to win a war is now. Maybe we should pray that the gods let their arrogance blind them into believing that they’ll be stronger in the future? The second problem is what happens if you convince Russia that a war is inevitable. Paul Craig Roberts has been warning of that danger. Its not a good idea to back a bear into a corner. Its not a good idea to poke a bear with a stick anyways. I live in bear country, so I see this with real bears. But its especially not a good idea to back one into a corner and then keep poking it with a stick.
Remember, the US military basically does what it wants to do. It is doubtful there is civilian control of the military in the USA anymore. And not for decades, at least.
Thuis, the meeting in Syria with US and Russian military commanders is very important. Among other things, the US military conducts its own diplomacy.
At this point in time, its possible to hear at least four messages coming from the US gov. 1) What Trump says or tweets. 2) What the State Dept says. 3) What the US military says. 4) What the CIA says.
There are often different. And especially the US military is under its own control and does what it wants. Thus, conversations with them are important.
Two examples under Trump of the US Military doing what it wants and not following orders. First was early in Trump’s term, when he said he was ordering a carrier to North Korea. The US military said no and sent it south. Another was last week, when Trump said he was getting out of Syria and the US military said no.
Talks direct with the US military are likely the most important talks one can have with the Americans.
We are in the midst of financial collapse, economic collapse, and environmental collapse.
There is very little time left for Satan’s Zionists to vanish Christians and Muslims, leaving China in the catbird seat.
The coming dustup in Syria may well be the beginning of the end.
French statement says they will target Syrian chemical facilities and this action should not be construed as an attack on anyone. Working on targeting over the coming days (paraphrased).
Saudi Arabia has climbed on “to fight terrorism”.
May reportedly is holding out for proof, what ever that means.
So, are they going to seek a pass from Russia to target some worthless infrastructure? Is that the climb down?
If so will it be allowed to proceed, even if Russia agrees?
Did Trumps tweets get ahead of the plan?
“May reportedly is holding out for proof, what ever that means.”
It means she has lost her bottle.
Trump is running the yapping dogs of May and BoJo as well as the suck-up Macron over the cliff.
When they realise they are the one’s going flash-crisp first, they will pull back and tell the truth.
Don’t forget they gulled him a year ago and recently with the Skripals.
Either that or we all go flash-crisp.
“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
— The US Declaration of Independence
http://www.ushistory.org/Declaration/document/
What the Americans used to think when the British royals were doing the same #### to them.
Its from the part of the Declaration of Independence that’s never read publicly on the Fourth of July, and its doubtful that most Americans even did their homework that one night in high school that they were supposed to read it.
Getting emotional (blood-thirsty Israelis) is unhelpful. This is all about interests of the players involved. Israel has interests. They might include eliminating the only legal entity that might want to claim Golan Heights or they may want to eliminate any potential future adversary.
A very, very sad day for humanity, international law, and the sovereign rights of smaller countries. Day after day and year after year the empire declares in advance who is going to be next, and all humanity does is covers its ears, closes its eyes, and carries on as if nothing has happened. Well, since there are over 150 countries and over six billion people, so what if a couple of countries get bombed-out every year and a few million get slaughtered, maimed or turned into refugees! Where are the voices of outrage, where are the street protests against the next upcoming slaughter of innocents? The news outlets are blandly announcing the next fireworks show, complete with a show schedule.
That said, Russia is not blameless either, for it is Russia that failed to speak-up to the empire in language that the power-crazed psychopaths could understand. It is Russia that never should have given hope if its risk tolerance was low. There is no zero risk way of stopping a power-mad aggressor from achieving its dreams of “full spectrum dominance of the universe” – an aim declared well in advance, with pride and demented delight instead of shame and infamy.
Nor will history let China off the hook of judgment and ethics. Their turn will come, too, at the hands of the empire. Fifty-year-long economic plans can be laid waste by a few evil blows from the empire.
Regardless of how the details of this attack play out, it does look like Russia could soon be out and the empire in. It matters not a bit whether the attack goes per scenario 1, or scenario 2, because either are mere preludes to scenarios 4 and 5. Going by the naval fleet and firepower being assembled by the empire, scenario 2 (heavy, sustained missile attacks on Syria) is on the cards, with the empire fully prepared to risk escalation to scenarios 4 and 5. Scenario 3 (Iran) will be next, in my view, after Syria has been destroyed and the Russians evicted. And after that will be xyz, and after that abc, and then after that …. until full spectrum dominance has been achieved. Hitler was a mere amateur, these pros are going to conquer the whole universe and dethrone God himself. Someone please tell me I am wrong, help me free myself from this recurring nightmare.
BREAKING: Defining Moment for Putin: Stand up to US/Israel Empire of Chaos, or Fold?
This is To Be or Not To Be Defining Moment much more for Putin and Russia, than for Syria and Assad.
Vladimir Soloviev, the host of a primetime political TV show and knows Putin personally tweets: “The situation now is quite comparable to the Cuban Missile Crisis. A nuclear war could erupt in the blink of an eye. And it’s unlikely that mankind will be able to survive it.”
New anti-Russian sanctions, Russian financial markets in meltdown, a tumbling ruble, Western threats to bomb Syrian forces and its backers in Syria, the Skripal false flag – what’s happening?
To conclude, instead of whining and crying about illegal, illegitimate Western actions that are not in accordance with international law, Russia and Putin should take serious and concrete steps to stop them.
It is time for old echelon of Russia’s leading politicians to retire. Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Lavrov already hinted that he wants to retire after decades of tireless and, in certain moments, brilliant service to Russia. I think Putin should let him retire and find a new, young, energetic, nationalistic FM who will first of all stop calling Western countries partners as Lavrov does on every occasion. A bully only understands a bully language and actions.
Dmitry Medvedev, current Russian Prime Minister, has been invisible for years, basically a dead man walking. The man who will go down the history as a person who allowed the West to bomb Gadhafi by not vetoing a UN resolution call for a no fly zone over Libya. Other Russian liberals should be gone also and economic and financial policy should be more nationalistic and protectionist.
President Putin is currently being too soft on too many issues. He still talks about “western partners”. Even former Israeli intel boss Yakov Kedmi thinks he should be tougher to the neocon bullies. Russia needs someone with a bit of Zhirinovsky’s manners in Russian foreign policy, especially at this very moment.
Thus, in this critical moment for the mankind, having in mind that all Western MSM are completely ignoring the danger of having WW3, Putin should go on live TV, make a breaking statement and explain to Russian citizens, and most importantly to the world, that the whole planet is on the brink of World War Three.
And finally, Russia needs to understand that this has nothing to do with Assad, Syria or even the Middle East. It has everything to do with Russia. Israel and the U.S. decided it is perfect time to inflict a humiliating defeat on Russia in Syria and take them out of this complex equation.
If Russia does nothing and hides under the table while whining and protesting against illegal American, British, French and Israelis strikes against Syrian people, it will be the ultimate defeat and humiliation for Russia and Putin. No one will want to be a Russian ally anymore, even though lots of countries are not in line to become one, to be honest. This will be geopolitical defeat of gigantic intensity and in that case it is better that the Russians leave Syria than further humiliate themselves.
Backing down just avoids the inevitable – eventually world peace will depend on nations challenging U.S. global hegemony. Russia, foremost, stands up to the US/Israel in Syria towards the beginning of the piece.
President Putin, it is your call. Either you will go into history as the greatest Russian statesmen who ever lived under the sun or as Ivan the Terrible 2.0 whose prosperous first stage of the rule ended up in ultimate chaos, disintegration and “troubled times” in Russia.
Godspeed to you, Vladimir Vladimirovich! The destiny of Russia and the mankind is in your hands.
Putin must act strongly or resign.
https://russia-insider.com/en/breaking-defining-moment-putin-stand-usisrael-empire-chaos-or-fold/ri23052
I fucking hope it will be stopped… this is much too near for me to a WW3… in all my years and I am born 1941 … I have not felt it coming as close to a WW as this one …
But if it has to be it will be… for those who get hit and die, better than get terribly hurt for the rest of this life… there will be ruin EVERYWHERE … people, cities, nations… it will be worse than anything we can even faintly imagine… so say your prayers !!!!
The AngloZionist lunatics are desperate and will go for the closest thing they can to put Russia in place without triggering a direct full blown hot nuclear war (they hope). They are aiming to create a scenario where Russia will be seen as the bad guy (obviously) and force the Western world to split Russia off completely economically and diplomatically. A new Iron Curtain to push Germany and the West completely out of Russia and China’s Nord Stream 2 & OBOR plans etc and locked into the Western & Gulf economic and energy sphere.
I think the AngloZionists have 9/11 2.0 (meaning a significant strategic false flag move to alter the geopolitical dynamics) lined up and ready to roll with the NATO MSM Propaganda Divisions at the ready. Never mind if some US sailors and airmen get Cooked (looking at you USS Donald Cook), something along those lines is just a necessary part of the plan to scare the willies out of the blue pill plebs in the West and make them fall in line.
It could start as a full scale attack to take Assad out personally to destroy any idea of Syrian cohesion. Essentially meaning that NATO and Israel step in now that the Jihadist proxy attack has failed.
This will then be followed up by a full scale US/Israeli cyber hit on Russia painted as a necessary move after Russia responds to the attack on Syria.
Russia called up the Israeli Ambassador the other day. I hope the Russians told the Israelis straight up that any funny business against Syria and Russia and Israel gets a terminal dose of it’s own medicine.
Look at the strategic situation for the UK elites. The UK have lost Hong Kong, North Sea Oil, Russia’s billions and now Brexit looms to financially nuke the City.
France is a shadow of any former glory, visit France and past the facade it is stuck in the 60s.
The US is rotting rapidly (both by design but also by mismanagement and utter greed and stupidity). The FED’s economic masturbation policies (Wall St. algorithms, Quantitative Easing and Bond buyups) are not going to create anything new and meaningful economically. Computer and accounting wizardry is not going to keep the Empire going under the increasing debt burden while the Kleptocrats loot everything in sight.
The Zionists are not going to accept that their dream of Greater Israel dominating the Middle East is over – which the survival of Syria, stronger than ever, and supported by Russia, China and Iran effectively means.
Reports are appearing about “imminent” military action in Syria:

“So then what is the point?”
7. Prolong the war. Next stop on the Syrian terrorist eradication aggenda is to clear out the rest of the southern regions, namely those near Golan. These are israel’s special charges. A quisling u.s./nato attack right now could postpone Syria cleaning up the south, depending on the severity and regions attacked, and provide breathing room for this pocket of zionazi terrorists.
Also, it will postpone a clean up of the Al Tanf region, important to zionazi terrorist training, and will also work to inflate flagging kurd morale and help the zionazis maintain control in the north east. Major unknown here is the turk role, not touched upon by you.
One other thing.
“Trump wants to appease the Neocons”
Trump is part of the neocon freakshow. He is 100% aligned with netanyahoo. He does not need to appease these buggers (literal description) any more than mark levin or rush limbaugh do. He one of them, been literally a loyal Jewish mafia quisling all his “adult” life. The turd is as amoral as it gets.
Anyone have confirmation this purported attack is actually going down?
Not yet. You might keep an eye on this channel:

Thanks. Fake news from Fox? Attack at dawn? Aborted? Interesting…
Lord Jesus, Son of God, have mercy upon us even though we don’t deserve it. Please stop this war from happening. We beg you.
My personal uneducated guess is a round of limited air and tomahawk strikes followed by a large naval show of force and some gunboat diplomacy. I don’t think Russia, Syria, or Iran have the required force to meet head to head with the empire in this theater of operations and will temporarily yield. What strength that is there in the tripartite must be concealed. Total war is not far off and Russia and others must make the necessary preparations. A very violent struggle looms and the only result will be severe injuries to all parties. This is a stupid shame.
At this point, I see only two real possibilities:
1. Washington is bluffing in a perverse attempt to force Syria/Russia/Iran to surrender.
2. World War III.
If Washington attacks Syria and kills Russian servicemen, Russia will have to respond by hitting US targets. This will quickly escalate into the biggest fighting since World War II. Washington and its NATO puppets will try blocking Russian naval access to Syria, so Russia/Iran will have to punch through a true land corridor through Iraq, which will require expelling the US from eastern Syria and Iraq.
The US will probably also try sending its Kiev junta on a massive offensive against both the DPR/LPR, the Crimea, and Pridnestrovie, which will require Russia to do a regime change in Kiev and defeat any NATO forces deployed in the Ukraine. At this point, or simultaneously, a US/Polish/Baltic attack may be launched even against Kaliningrad, requiring a Russian intervention to expel NATO from the Baltic states.
With the world hot at war, China would also have to get involved by booting the US out of both South Korea and the renegade province of Taiwan. It is difficult to imagine this huge of a conflict remaining purely conventional. This makes me suspect that Washington is in fact bluffing and that any US attack on Syria will be very “minimal” or “for show”, to prevent it from spiraling out of control (i.e. into nuclear war).
A cursory glance of the comments here shows the websayanim are busy, as usual.
An excellent comment by RATM which I agree with 100% and think deserves a hearing here:
“A quick readers guide to ‘fake/paid commenters’:
– if someone says Russia is loosing/selling out… he is paid
– if someone says the Empire is winning… he is paid
– if someone says Russia must act now or ‘it’s all over’ …. he is paid
– if someone says Russia must nuke US/NATO/whatever… he is paid
– if someone overdramatizes US/Israeli token attacks on Syria… he is paid
– if someone takes Western announces as truth or a done deal… he is paid
Truth is this:
– the multi-polar world is coming, nothing the West does can stop it
– Russia can sit tight and wait for the West to implode, with each pasing day
the pressure on the Western financial system is growing and it is imploding in slow motion
– Small provocations are just that, small. All rocket attacks on Syria didn’t change the reality on the ground and won’t change the tide of war
– Russia doesn’t decide if Iran/Hezbollah stays in Syria or not, the Syrian goverments does hence, Russia cannot ‘sell them out’
– “Assad must go”, “Animal Assad”, “Guilty Russians”, “Poison attacks” etc…
For me it’s all blah blah blah….
I wish for more people to just stop taking notice whenever and whatever the West is spewing. Just ignore them. Press the mute them. Forever. Their power lies in engaging us into their bs narratives. Deny that to them. Set yourselves free.”
I don’t see the US occupying half of Syria as a ‘token’ attack. The attack on Syria is very real, crucial to the Zionazi’s plans for the region. There simply is no way for the AngloZionists to graciously accept defeat and let the Syrian people with Russian and Iran kick them out again.
What has changed this time is the fact that the Jihadi proxies have been strategically defeated. The US has to come up with a new plan or go home. Go home is simply not an option as Trump found out.
If I were in Putins shoes my response would be instant and unrelenting…I would launch a few hypersonic cruise mussels into the IDF headquarters and take out a US carrier. I can guarantee you this….once American people see that they are not invincible and that their ships can be easily taken out they will not let these crazy neocunts steer them into a full scale war. No amaerican has ever seen war in his own soil, and no American can even imagine what it would be like. Joe public will not risk his family, and job, and kids, and way of life to either fight a war for Israel and its Zionist neocunts or loose there very way of life and existence. Russians….I now many..I respect them for their love of country and culture, have endured hell unknown to Americans the past 100 years…they will not be intimated not be fearful of what will be required to save their country and culture. Americans will fall like a pepper tiger…. everyone of my friends and colleagues here in the states talks tuff…but when they realize what will happen to their lives..they will all choose to preserve their way of life over anything else. America will blink….and it will blink first. After which the world will see her with different eyes.
Speaking as an American, I must respectfully disagree.
Consider what happened after 9/11: it was soon “known” that the attackers were mostly Saudis, but Bush pinned the blame on Bin Laden, who was supposedly hiding out in Afghanistan. Extradition was demanded, the Taliban asked for evidence, the US refused to provide any, and “Operation Enduring Freedom” was launched with air strikes against AQ and the Taliban.
The was some popular protest against the war in Afghanistan, but the US Senate and Congress supported Bush. Nobody wanted to appear “soft on terrorism”. It took years for the idea that the WTC attacks were a false flag to get some traction with the general public. Even today, it is difficult to find general agreement on this. In the moment, very few Americans questioned war.
Long story short: if the US suffers the kind of painful blow you describe, Americans will collectively go batshit crazy, call for revenge, and the neocons will have an easier time of steering them into a full scale war.
I gather the Russians understand this very well. Thus, their measured response.
It was actually a proud moment when Obama and his “red line” got derailed by a bunch of US military men in uniform holding up signs in front of their faces that read something along the lines of “I didn’t join the military to fight for Al Qeada”.
It had a real chilling effect on the war mongers. Faced with the possibility of an outright mutiny and Putin’s effective counter to work with the OPCW to get rid of any chemical weapons in Syria they backed down.
Ah the good old days. Those all seem to have resigned or moved on in life as the military today will seemingly go along with anything.
