Today, I begin with this: something I would call a good summary of CNN’s wishful thinking
This has everything!
- Putin is a “pure thug”
- Russians are indiscriminately murdering civilians en masse
- “Ex-KGB” “agent” says what his CIA handlers tell him to
- Klitschko is as verbally clever as he always is
- China is about to screw Russia over
- Drones threaten NATO (apparently including Ukie ones?)
- A retired colonel opines that Russia is running out of manpower
- US casualties in Kiev
And against this deluge of lies, Bernhard at Moon of Alabama does a superb job deconstructing that kind of crap, see here: https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/03/neo-nazis-in-ukraine-fake-incidents-to-gain-more-western-support.html.
But it feels like such an uneven and lopsided battle…
How are we, private individuals with no government or corporate support supposed to beat this?
I guess we will fight for as long as God gives us strength.
Anyway,
There were a few cities liberated today, here is the machine translation of Boris Rozhin’s report:
1. Mariupol. The cleanup of the city continues successfully. Advanced units reach the central areas, the enemy is gradually pushed back to Azovstal. Civilians continue to leave the city. The military on the ground are talking about the timing of the liberation of Mariupol – 4-7 days.
2. Ugledar. The village has not yet been officially taken, but to the north of it the troops are already advancing to Bogoyavlenka, with a subsequent movement to Kurakhovo. Prechistovka is taken from the west of Ugledar, which creates prerequisites for both movement to the north and for a U-turn to Velikaya Novoselka.
3. Maryinka-Avdiivka. There are no particularly serious advances yet. It is impossible to overcome the enemy’s powerful fortified areas with a rush. Aviation and artillery are trying to make the task easier, but so far the cumulative effect of multi-day strikes has not yet been achieved.
4. Gorlovka. Novotoretsk remained for the DPR. The APU counterattacks to retake the village were repulsed. Tomorrow, perhaps, the advance will begin either to Novoselka-2, or in the direction of New York.
5. LNR. They took Rubezhnoye, the enemy withdrew to Severodonetsk, where persistent street fighting continues. Lisichansk is not being actively stormed yet. The liberation of these cities is a matter of time. Fighting continues in the western part of Popasnaya, the city is not yet fully controlled by the LPR, the enemy stubbornly clings to it.
6. Kharkiv. Active fighting to the east of the city. There is no information confirming the occupation of even a part of Chuguev by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation yet. In Izyum, the enemy continues to defend themselves in the southern part of the city and tries to unblock the road in the Kamenka area, where the fighting is going on near the Izyum-Slavyansk highway. The front from the north is gradually shifting towards Slavyansk.
7. Kiev. Attempts of the APU to be active on the Vyshgorod-Gostomel-Bucha line ended with serious losses of the APU in people and equipment. A serious counteroffensive failed. It is noted that the Western grouping of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continues to methodically press south, trying to get out and gain a foothold in the Vasilkov area. In the east, Ukrainian sources report the occupation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation of several villages on the outskirts of Brovary. There is no confirmation of this from our side yet.
8. Sumy and Chernihiv. Without major changes.
9. Nikolaev. Fighting north of the city. The city itself is blocked from three sides, but there is no assault. The transfer of reinforcements for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation through Kherson is noted. The Armed Forces of Ukraine expect the activation of operations of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in this direction in the coming days.
10. Odessa. The ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation work on targets on the coast, complementing the work of aviation. There are no landing events, but the enemy is forced to keep serious forces here, for fear of missing the moment of the exhibition. The Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, having won complete dominance at sea, now performs a binding role, forcing the enemy to keep troops near Odessa that would be useful in the area of Nikolaev or Krivoy Rog.
Finally, no map today (I am too tired to wait for Readovka)
A final comment:
I think that we are headed for a partition of the Ukraine.
The Poles, who are currently feeling very heroic (as they always do when there is a civil war in Russia), will probably take the western Ukraine.
The pretext will be some kind of “Russian atrocity”.
NATO will call it a peacekeeping/peacemaking operation.
Question 1: in your opinion, can Russia afford to have a non-demilitarized and non-denazified (landlocked) mini-Banderastan if the rest of the Ukraine is liberated?
I guess is that the devil would be in the details.
For one thing, we need to keep in mind that Russia’s goal is a fundamental change in the European collective security environment. How likely is that?
I would say that not likely at all for the foreseeable future. First, the full magnitude of the economic suicide of the Eurolemmings has to become self-evidently clear, visible, undeniable and obvious. This will take weeks and even months to become fully obvious.
Second, right now the USA, Poland and the UK want war. Thus any mini-Banderastan will be fully NATO-run (as much as Poland or Estonia). If that mini-Banderastan can be veritably disarmed from any weapon systems capable of threatening Russia, then maybe something can be negotiated. If all the Ukie Nazis want to live there, well that’s fine by me, as long as the rest of the Ukraine can truly and firmly lock that border. That might require Russians to create a Russian military base somewhere west/southwest of Kiev with a function similar to the 201st base in Tadjikistan. And no, this is not a “good” solution, but that assumes better options.
Question 2: is there a better option? Do you think that the Russian tanks should drive all the way to the western Ukraine and, if yes, how long do you want them to say?
Lastly, there is the issue of border.
Question 3: If a NATO “peacekeeping force” is detected approaching the Ukrainian border, should Russia wait until they cross to strike, or shall Russia repeat what she just did in Iavorov but inside Poland?
To tell you the truth, I am increasingly becoming convinced that until Russia fires a few Iskanders/Kalibrs into NATO territory (Poland or Romania for example) the Eurolemmings will not come back to their senses.
Do you share that feeling?
And, finally, please stay on topic!
Thank you
Andrei
I think Russia should simply hold Ukraine and have it as a secured buffer zone between itself and the NATO at this point in time, and deal with America and the UK directly. I’m afraid that they are the core of the problem and until they have been dealt with, all sorts of corrupt terrorist regimes will keep cropping up along Russia’s borders, and pseudo-Afghanistans will keep binding Russia’s resources until it’s economically ruined, as is America’s plan.
Basically, the war in Ukraine is not winnable in Ukraine, but Ukraine must be held as a buffer zone to prevent nazi terrorists from attacking Russia while Russia is dealing with America.
Danijel
“Basically, the war in Ukraine is not winnable in Ukraine …”. I am not sure I understand this statement.
“I think Russia should simply hold Ukraine and have it as a secured buffer zone …”. This would be highly impractical, especially when it comes to Western Ukraine, the former Galicia, where the population is of mixed blood, Ukrainian, German, Polish, Hungarian, Romanian, Balt, even Scandinavian. Holding on to Western Ukraine would lead to guerilla warfare, and that is not what Russia needs, bearing in mind that the bulk of neo-Nazis come from that part of the country.
If you look at maps of military operations in Ukraine, you will see that these operations are being conducted in the East, in the South and in Central parts of the country. Western Ukraine is untouched by the Russians, aerial activities excluded. The Saker is certainly correct when he stated that we are headed towards a partition of Ukraine. That’s the conclusion I have reached watching the combat maps. It’s as if Russia is tempting Poland to move into Western Ukraine and have the double honor of increasing the size of it’s land and entertaining all those neo-Nazis, whom Russia does not need.
With Western Ukraine in Polish hands, this leaves Central and Eastern Ukraine. The Eastern part (with the whole Black sea coast) will be reunited with Russia, while the Central part will exist as some sort of “sovereign” country, although I am not sure it can function as such. In due course it probably will be reunited with Russia.
What is ironic here is that in 2014 the West implemented that coup d’etat against Yanukovich, hoping to drag Ukraine into NATO and turn it against Russia. All it did was start a process by which Russia is reuniting with it’s historical lands.
What I’m saying is, this is not a war with Ukraine, and can’t be won in Ukraine. It’s a war with the United States of America and has to be won there; what’s happening in Ukraine is control of a buffer zone in front of Russian borders, because if this didn’t happen, this war would have been taking place around Rostov, with the Western press violently cheering the Ukrainians on.
What happens to Ukraine after the war with America has ended is basically irrelevant.
Or maybe Russia can absorb Donetsk, Lugansk, South and Eastern Ukraine, and give them some autonomy, like the arrangement it has with the Chechens, provided that the ukrainian parts renounce all banderite philosophies and loyalties.
Simply, you say. NATO would love that. They’d be sneaking in weapons and trainers and whatnot, there’d be guerilla resistance forever. Ukraine would be a serious economic and military drain. They are much better off getting to a point where they can dictate terms, then declaring victory and leaving.
The US asked for its original Vietnam in Vietnam, then did some effective work handing Russia a Vietnam in Afghanistan, then took another turn having one in Iraq and, horribly but absurdly, in Afghanistan because they learned nothing from what they inflicted on Russia.
Now you want Russia to voluntarily take its turn again and get itself yet another Vietnam, this time in Ukraine, once again assisted by NATO just as in Afghanistan. Sure, what could possibly go wrong?
Back in 2015, don´t remember exactly I presented a question to the readers of Saker´s Blog, “How was Germany Denazified?” Was it the fact that they had lost The war, or was it because the US and Brits pulverized Dresden and Hamburg, after they surrendered to the Soviet Union? Which of these two events, had the greatest impact on the psyche of the German population? A defeat at the hands of a rival that played by the rules of war? Or the ruthless and barbaric disregard for human life that the Anglo saxons exacted on defenseless populations? Shall we remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki also?. The fact is that Russia plays by rules and international law, and by it heart and soul. Even in its long history of suffering it has ben chivalrous with every enemy.
By my former comments, I still believe that Russia shhould hold all the lands that form the Dnepr Basin, since it is a Russian river, brother to Mother Volga. I would not be so generous as to give the Poles all of Western Ukraine, since Banderstan comprises three oblasts, and even not all of it in its entirety, just enough to give them some room so live, a triangle from Ternopil-Ivano Frankovsk-Lvov. And then only after those place have been reduced to rubble, The Carthage solution is the only one fitting, as it would fit several cousins from the West.
Those Ukrainians who left for Europe, should be kind enough to remain in Europe. That is their future, they will be nurtured to become tolerant and accept parent 1 and parent 2, and be able to choose whatever 100th gender they find most atractive.
To ensure Security in the lands bordering Banderastan, warriors from the regular armies of Donbass and volunteers that have helped the Republics and Russia, should receive att least one hectare of land in the Western oblasts, including Syrians, Africans, and Caucasians who come to the help of the peaceful citizens of Ukraine. And I am sure they will be able to take the task of guarding that Borderland, properly trained and armed for the task, Kadyrov should be placed in charge of that operation.
The properties of Oligarchs have to be confiscated and the proceeds on earnings or sale of those enterprises or lands used to rebuild Donbass first, and then the damage that the Nazis have caused during this Operation.
At this moment the biggest threat for Russia is the Negotiating team. Why isn´t there a representative of the Defense Ministry, of the Security Agencies, of the Republics who have suffered the most these past 8 years? Why is a Rusophobe Minister of Culture heading this team? His accomplishments will surprise you.
Borisov should be there, Chaly fom Crimea, Pushilin from Donbass, and yes Kadyrov has experience dealing with terrorist.
I don’t quite see how a partition would work, I feel like if Russia creates several new states, she would need to feed them, can she feed them when USA/EU stolen half of her reserves and she is under the worst economic attack any country has been under in the history of humanity?
Still, what else is there to do but creates new states if the Ukrainian government refuses to negotiate.
Also, how positive are the populations of these new states to live in unrecognized state formation under absolute sanctions from USA? This is not like 2014, when it was the Russian spring and everyone was optimistic and, Russia had 4x the living standard than Ukraine, the info wars it almost totally on USA side today and Russias economy is not looking very attractive. Can you create new states if 99% of the people in these states want to live in a Ukraine?
For me, sounds as if we are approching total war. What to do in such conditions? Is not easy to give an answer…however, for now, I think Russia has to do more territorial gains, and show that they are not doing a picnic.
A partition would be like a festering sore, that will keep getting worse. What is needed is reconstructive surgery – perhaps a sequence of surgeries with enough anti-biotics, painkillers, antacids and nutritional supplements. One idea would be to invite partner countries in rehabilitation efforts (China?, India? ) (“nutritional supplements”). Another would be a continuation of police operations (Kadyrov is just itching to do this bit – “antibiotic”). A truth and reconciliation commission engaged in a public dialog with the population would be a counter to the poisonous propaganda (“anti-oxidnats?”). But all this means that Ukraine (or its successor states) would have to be in intensive care for a long time. The question of not-occupying and not-holding Ukraine and not going for regime change is a non-starter. It will be costly if Russia tries to do it alone. But if forced into this situation, it could devise an economic hub that would benefit from investments from CSTO countries. Ukrainians currently working in Russia could be incentivized to go back and take leadership positions. It would be long process.
It may also act as a template for China’s takeover of Taiwan and India’s takeover of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir with Russia, China and India supporting each other’s case. This would become more likely as the Western system becomes dysfunctional because of high energy and food prices and resulting social discontent
Dear Nick;
Eight or our or even one year ago, people in East and South parts of the Ukraine would possibly stall at becoming isolated fro Western Europe or The US of North A economies. But now those places along the North Atlantic seem in for an Atlantis experience economically and prospects for “The East appear much brighter. So the choice of preference seems obvious.
Warning! I was just banned by Facebook for sharing Ian Kummer’s article
The 24 hour ban is my first in almost 7 years. The excuse given is their Kafkaesque rules on praise and support of dangerous individuals and organizations. The article reuses the infamous photo of Azovites with NATO, Azov and swastika flags. The Facebook preview displayed the photo with its contraband symbol. Thousands of anti-Fascist must have been banned because of this photo.
As I was banned, I could not post the following message on Facebook. I will post it here instead:
Information war is one of the main battlefronts of World War 3. Unfortunately Russia has left much of the fighting to Westerners.
Don’t go back. Seriously. Delete your Facebook account, delete the Facebook app from your mobile devices. Do so for all Meta products (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp). Why feed your enemies?
Agreed. I was kicked off 8 years ago. I was only in private groups that were infiltrated. I tried creating other accounts but gave up. It was a good thing! In addition, FB (meta) states they stopped using facial recognition but who would believe that? Screw them. It baffles me why people want to inform the government of their every move. I appreciate it’s a “social” forum but use the phone or better yet meet in person.
Hi Petri,
Ian here – thank you so much for sharing the article, that article is right now the #1 post I have ever made, mainly due to people like you constantly sharing and resharing it!
Thank you for bringing the ban to my attention. I am going to change the photo in a few minutes. I am actually in the middle of a 30 day ban myself, so I hate to see other people getting banned for sharing MY content!
I do have several new posts on the blog – I am trying to get some new observations up daily when possible.
That’s a good article, brother. I’ll share this around.
People who want to understand the history of Russophobia need to download and read the book “Great conspiracy against Russia” by Albert Kahn, written in 1946 and endorsed by a former Vice President of USA, Claude Pepper. It is available at http://resistir.info/livros/the_great_conspiracy.pdf
I read this book in hard copy in the 1980s and it has been an eyeopener ever since. It refers to source material that many people who visit this blog, (even I suspect the Saker!) may not be aware.
Claude Pepper was, in this universe, never VP of the Jew-SA. And neither
was Jennifer Salt.
Sorry, he was a Senator.
The site on which the article is hosted gives a 500 server error. It may have been hacked.
Don’t worry, someone archived the article here:

I was able to access the link just now without issue.
I think it is more insulting to have reddit asking you if you need help because somebody reported you (maliciously) that you want to commit suicide…
Shame that one of your intellect could fall for the 911 false flag.. that an Arab in an Afghan cave shut down the 1/2T$ US air defenses with his laptop, then had one of his 22 his L Pilots, this one couldn’t solo a Cessna172 with 600 logged hours, fly a hologram*, at the impossible ground level speed of 580mph, right through a Twin Tower, and ‘crush’ it so well, that the remains could be removed overnight in 4 hours, instead of taking 4 years. That being.. Millions of tons of twisted steel girders, glass, concrete, air con machines and ducts, plumbing and sanitary ware, wiring and emergency genes, office equipment,, and 3000 HUMANS.. that in 2 100M high mounds.. (physics), not forgetting, the 2 remaining central cores, 417M high(!)! as the floors had ‘pancaked’, according to NIS. *Bill Cooper’s hologram vid. is deleted from the net.
Individually, the US destroys its citizens based on lawfare in the hands of liar lawyers, the true middle class, wheeling and dealing with the judgeship and politicians to steal everything not rivetted down. Here “truth” and “justice” belong to the entity with the biggest pockets or the entity that can further enrich the parasite ruling class.
Yes, the one-two punch. 2 big whoppers in one or 2 years in the early aughts. 911 (911 moniker is the cherry on top for those living in the psyop soap opera) false flag and ba da boom the WMD’s in Iraq as a chaser. It’s sickening
Americans have demonstrated their ignorance and susceptibility to lies. We now just live the lie.
Nonetheless, Paul Craig Roberts is having none of it. He says it better than I ever could in a recent column: “The Western pressitutes control the narratives. Facts do not matter to the West, no matter how many times Putin and Lavrov stress the facts. They waste their time and energy.
In the Western world facts are powerless, as is evidence of all kind. In the place of facts there are official narratives that turn lies into truth and that turn fiction into fact. The Russians waste their time responding to false accusations. The accusations are a psyops operation. By responding the Kremlin validates the accusations.”
“We had been directly attacked, and in a terrible way.” – 9/11…Forgive me…but I stopped reading after this sentence.
Actually I must have missed that while reading that article been to much into the Ukraine mindset
Yes that’s strange that Ian states this in that way
Maybe he can elaborate how he came to that conclusion
Yeah likewise….if they cant pass that test, I cannot be bothered. If you dont wanna come out call BS fine, but to pander to the false narrative?
Petri, why continue to use a Globalist-controlled social media platform like Facebook (more accurately, the PRINCIPLE Globalist-controlled social media platform)?
Ditto Twitter, YouTube, Google and just lately DuckDuckGo which has defected to Globalist control and now censors search results. All these facilities aggressively filter and censor any counter-narrative information.
So many unfettered alternatives out there – Truthbook.social , BrandNewTube.com , Patreon.com , Brighteon.com , BitChute.com , Rumble.com , Search.Brave.com , Presearch.org , etc etc etc.
As the Saker himself posits —
“How are we, private individuals with no government or corporate support supposed to beat this?
I guess we will fight for as long as God gives us strength.”
Yes, God gives us strength, and he also gives us the means. All that’s required is to make use of those means, rather than habitually directing our energy into the dead-end filtered & censored Globalist echo chamber.
@ Ultra
You mean PRINCIPAL. Principle means: belief, code, value, opinion, standard, norms…
Did a search on search.brave.com, and presearch.org , with the search string ‘covid vaids’ ….both search engines could only find phoney factchecker site ….did the same search on rumble.com and found multiple sites discussing covid vaids.
Stay away from search.brave, and presearch……
Petri,
I just wrote a follow-up to that blog post. I’m definitely curious to hear what you think!
***
Once upon a time, stop me if you’ve heard this story before, Anglo diplomats surveyed the ruins of a fallen empire, and hatched a nefarious plan. They insisted on the creation of a militaristic right-wing pseudostate, with borders drawn up in a way that would be deliberately provocative to her neighbors. Then the Western powers all swore that this weird artificial state had inviolable sovereignty and signed unenforceable mutual defense pacts with her. Just creating this imaginary country was a weird and stupid idea, and that decision was made even more weird and stupid by the following mutual defense agreements. Even a small border dispute would immediately and inevitably erupt into a world war, and of course that’s exactly what happened.
If you think I’m talking about 1991 Ukraine, you are correct, but also not correct. I’m talking about 1919 Poland.
https://readingjunkie.com/2022/03/18/is-ukraine-the-new-poland/
While the operations are ongoing work should start in the liberated areas.
They should remain in Ukraine but elect local leaders that will declare their neutrality and reject nazism
Russia and China could help with recovery.
There will then be no need for policing
How long for?? Both Russia and China have unavoidable population problems that will see them dismembered in a generation.
That won’t be what you might expect as most Western countries have the same problem, we are not reproducing ourselves. Any first-world country that thinks they can expand their borders is kidding themselves, it is temporary at best.
“It’s even worse than the Islamophobia after the Sept. 11 attacks. That was wrong, but at least there was a reasonable provocation for it. We had been directly attacked…” Ian Kummer
(Aside from fb in the first place) That right there is the problem. At the beginning of 2020, I used to joke that it was a lonely world for someone who is not Sinophobic, Russophobic, Islamophobic, Indophobic or LitteGreenMenphobic. As long as you believe one type of phobia is justifiable against whatever target, the destructive wars of empire will continue. It needs to stop. All of it. On September 11, a lot of Sikhs were attacked in the USA. There is NO justification for any of it.
The financial and info war against Russia is horrifying, no doubt about it. But it is far less horrifying than being in Afghanistan in September 2001 and having bombs drop on your head. If you stay alive, at least you have a chance of fighting back. If you believed the incoherence of the September 11 narrative, of course the probability of believing the incoherence and omissions of the Russia-Ukraine narrative is exponentially higher.
Let’s just do a brief recap of the first hour: 8:45-945 am September 11, 2001.
1. The first seven minutes of original footage following the second tower explosion do NOT show ANY airplane. They show an explosion. The existence of airplane is provided by “eyewitnesses” in CNN’s case, by a CNN exec producer who claimed to be in a building looking at the tower. He says, “it went completely inside”. From the eight minute mark onwards, the footage is replayed, this time with a cartoonish looking airplane disappearing behind the building. All the “live” aka eight minute delay footage, has the building between the camera and the plane. The footage ghostplanes sliding into the building emerged in the following days.
Don’t take my word for it. Look it up on the internet archive’s September 11 section.
2. Official narrative: two giant “airplanes” flown at speeds well above the max for that altitude, piloted by a bunch of untrained “hijackers” hit a narrow target dead on. The “planes” did not break apart due to the flutter effect of being flown over max allowable speed at low altitude. Any honest aerospace engineer can confirm that.
3. The most important evidence of no planes is what did NOT happen. For a full hour you had reporters running around underneath the building asking people: did you see what happened? If two giant planes really had smashed into giant towers, there would be an apocalyptic scene outside the towers on the ground for a one kilometre radius.
4. In that hour before the towers collapsed Jerome Hauer of Kroll was not in the tower where he should have been, rather he was on TV saying Osama dunnit. In the FIRST HOUR: That same day Ehud Barack was on BBC describing all the security measures that would be rolled out at airports.
I have no idea what actually happened, but NO “hijacked passenger airplanes” smashed into those towers. A plane cannot smash into a building without breaking apart and some big chunks of it falling to the ground below. Anyone who can believe that lie, can believe any lie. To understand the lie of September 11, you don’t even need to go past the first two “airplane” crashes. You don’t need to argue about what might have happened. You just need to show what did not happen.
Congratulations ! Personally I’ve boycotted FB since 2014.
“The Russians Are Losing!”? Really? (Prelude to a False Flag) Gonzalo Lira Is predicting a Ukrainian false flag within the next 24 to 48 hours based on his observations of what is happening on the ground where he is. What he is saying makes a lot of sense!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AcFx5i7Ngs
Why doesn’t the Russian side close the western Ukrainian border by a pincer movement down from SW Belorus to encircle Lvov and seal off the Polish border, and up from Transdniestria to start cutting off Carpathians routes for arms and mercenaries?
Russia has already committed its forces to the currently active fronts. It doesn’t have the military resources for such an advance.
Russia has concentrated forces near Brest-on-the-Bug near the Polish border. It’s possible they’re meant for that exact purpose.
You are not serious, the main Russian force is not even there. 2.team will do the job(mamma mia!)…i would send Belorusians from north..in few days main attack from south. Kiev should be taken from Syrians, that would be lovely. Penetrate zes ass with Russian flag!
Hey where are Israelis, quite silent last days? They should send special unit to kill some nazis, are they planting potatoes-dont have much time?
If Russia leaves a chunk of Ukraine out there for the NATO countries to pick over do we see the NATO countries start fighting each other for the scraps?
As for a strike inside a NATO country I would say no. Russia is winning, it’s costly but it is winning. I wouldn’t give the crazies an excuse to jump in or a third party an excuse to side against Russia. The longer this goes on the worse this gets in the west.
If all else fails after RF have completed opps
Actually a strike in NATO land on a key military target …. whatever ……. on the far side of that NATO land would send clear message …. We -RF- can reach you no matter where you squat and hide your military stuff…..
Risky but 3 quick strikes then they are …. out !
Otherwise the empire of lies hypocracy and deceit may think it can keep europe fighting RF …
A clear visible global wack minus bodies ….. may register …..
After a clearly documented NATO incursion–firing at a Russian jet or, considerably more serious, at a AD system on Russian territory…
Call a news conference–ensure that major non-Western media also attend.
Announce that rather than continue a tit for tat cycle of provocations, the the crew of the UK’s new aircraft carrier should abandon ship; in 1 hour exactly, Russia will punch a Khinzal without warhead through its deck.
Russia will consider the matter of NATO incursions closed, unless NATO would like to see the lesson continued.
“After a clearly documented NATO incursion–firing at a Russian jet or, considerably more serious, at a AD system on Russian territory…”
I agree. Russia has to keep to the high road regarding Nato. They will try to wrong-foot Russia.
Russia has to walk on egg shells.
Regarding leaving a rump Ukraine in the west—I am not a military or political analyst, but my gut feeling is that this is not a good idea. It would even be better to build a wall, a la DDR. Let the Nazis out if they want to leave. Meanwhile make some genuine investments in the Ukr-DDR to bring to them benefits such as those enjoyed by Russians in Russia. Encourage sensible Ukrainians to return but only be swearing allegiance to the New denazified Ukraine. The NewKraine. Some of those who have fled to Russia would return. Try to create a “zone of abscission.” On the NewKraine side, reintegrate NewKraine into Russian education, health-care, and commercial systems. Don’t prohibit use of Ukrainian, but encourage use of Russian, and introduce some new expressions that only the NewKrainians understand. Let the Nazis hash it out in Poland, or elsewhere in the EU where they are welcome.
I guess this is just me dreaming, but to leaving a rump Ukraine full of nazis is like leaving an unlanced boil, or other infection or petri dish swarming with germs, bacteria, viruses, and spores trying to jump over into Russia and proliferate or parasitize it . . . to use the newly popular “germ” metaphor. It should be under Russian control, but also a demilitarized zone (so not a target for Nato nuts). Except for maybe a wall with land mines on both sides. Must control who goes in and out.
PS
Re “Don’t prohibit use of Ukrainian,”
Maybe make a point of encouraging apolitical Ukrainian cultural organizations, kind of like the Goethe Institute in Germany. It could be called the Gogol Institute (there is already a university in I think Nizhyn named for Gogol).
A whole cultural program could be based on Gogol’s plays, operas, stories, etc., with the big plus that he was one of the greatest satirists of Russian society and truly bridged the Ukrainian and Russian worlds.
So this would be a center for the study of both higher and folk culture, and of the Ukrainian language. But as an academic and creative subject (e.g., poetry workshops for Ukrainian poetry), not a political tool. There could be branches in a number of cities, with a cultural program, plus a public library.
Such a Nikolai Gogol Cultural Institute might be a way to begin to address the challenge of the reorientation and reeducation of Ukrainians without negating their genuine culture.
If Poland, Romania and Hungary each got Ukrainian territory where Polish, Romanian or Hungarian is spoken, missile and radar bases in Poland and Romania pointed at Russia are dismantled, and the Russian army withdraws from Ukraine, then everyone would have some reason to be happy.
I am a Pole, aware as much as one can imagine of its tragic history. Let me only remind you about Wolyn, Provided you have a slightest idea what it was for Poles and Ukrainians primarily due to Nazi Bandera squads and some Poles taking revenge on them. We have forgiven, at least many who could, but we will never forget. I fed up with your type of reasoning. Let’s put this shit to bed, ok? Grow up, find the wall you can hit your head against and stop warmongering to another unnecessary conflict.
So why your country is helping Ukraine risking a, war with Russia?
Great question actually. I am from Poland as well and I am absolutely disguisted by our government subservient attitude towards people who openly worship the nazis like Bandera (sentenced to death/life imprionment in Poland for terrorism, released by Germans during 2nd WW) and are actual nazis themselves (Azov is just a tip of the iceberg). No to mention that NATO is a joke led by USA which is “run” by corrupt, mentally incapable, barely alive old creep that was doing very shady stuff in Ukraine for the past years. IMHO all NATO members that joined in 1999 and later on should leave this swamp and build a new alliance in central europe with histerical, anglosaxon-inspired russophobia.
Agree! EU should smarten up and rethink its alliances. They might also consider shutting down the southern immigration and becoming a diverse Europe of wisdom and intellect again. Us, us in the US, I don’t know what is going to happen to us. Emblematic of living in a major city is only the most recent news of how our ruling elite hates us so. Their policies encourage the type of lawlessness illustrated in only the most recent savage attack on the innocents. Multiple versions of these stories happen daily in all of America as it rots out. Meanwhile, we encourage borders over there but none in the US here. Sickening.
These people should not even be on any American street. I recommend roots, back to their roots, so they can further evolve over the upcoming millennia. I think this is a viable solution for all. All would eventually be happier for it, as the environment would provide more freedom for them to foster their and our predilections towards their natural individual “growth” vectors.

WITH or WITHOUT
Political puppets are everywhere……..No Action Talk Only commitments are binding, so they need to follow the rules. However we could avoid any hostilities if certain conditions are met…….
Let me provide some quotes of someone I respect and admire. “War is the racket” by Smedley Butler. You can google it up and download pdf. I wish there were such generals anymore………..”War is the racket”………..How one can smash this racket?………”The only way to smash this racket is to conscript capital and industry and labor before the nation’s manhood can be conscripted”………”Let the workers in these plants get the same wages—all the workers, all presidents, all executives, all directors, all managers, all bankers—yes, and all generals and all admirals and all officers and all politicians and all government office holders—everyone in the nation to be restricted to a total monthly income not to exceed that paid to the soldier in the trenches!”…………”Give capital and industry and labor thirty days to think it over and you will find, by that time, there will be no war. That will smash the war racket—that and nothing else”……….. “Maybe I am a little too optimistic. Capital still has some say. So capital won’t permit the taking of the profit out of war until the people—those who do the suffering and still pay the price—make up their minds that those they elect to office shall do their bidding, and not that of the profiteers”…….
“Another step necessary in this flight to smash the war racket is a limited plebiscite to determine whether war should be declared. A plebiscite not of all the voters but merely of those who would be called upon to do the fighting and the dying”
“A third step in this business of smashing the war racket is to make certain that our military forces are truly forces for defense only”.
Here you go! Let’s apply these rules to all warmongerers in Zone A or Zone B or everywhere and let’s find out how many wars would be waged………….Take care and be hopeful the world can still be a better place to live.
Arek I live in Poland since 1997
The wolhyn massacre not many young poles even know what it is….
But almost every pole hates Russia deeply and they help now the Bandera Nazis and shipping massivly arms to them to kill the evil orcs from Russia…
I think this insane polish behavior will soon end very very bad and this is not warmongering but simple logic
The Polish government is so insane that it’s hard to believe
Kaczor just asked Nato to bring the military into Ukraine
Result WW3
Very smart indeed
“But almost every pole hates Russia deeply……….” I would not generalise, though sadly I need to admit that so called Russophobia used to be embedded in consciousness of older generations (younger ones are more pragmatic). Why is it the case? Not only in my country, but more broadly in the Western world? Most people mix apples with oranges by putting Russia in one historical basket. For the sake of the simplicity (though I realize it is not that simple, but I have to be succinct here) I believe one can clearly distinguish three major geopolitical periods when the country lived, breathed and interacted with external world: 1/ Tsarist Russia until the end of Romanov dynasty 2/ Bolshevik/communist era 3/ post USSR disintegration era. Purposefully let me put aside deliberations how average “Wania or Wiera” were evolving over the history wheel turns (I have met a lot of Russians in my life and never had any problems or prejudices in our mutual relations, on the contrary). I guess the problem most people do not understand are forces or if you like “the powers that be” reigning in those periods and why vicissitudes were happening the way they had happened. And the latter (so called official narrative) is the mother of all problems the world has been facing for ages: history books written by winners as opposed to true tellers. I will take a risk claiming Russia lost propaganda war a long time ago due to its silence over this issue. I’d like at least 10-20% world population have a chance and willingness to read and understand this. I bet you we would live in different world………… https://biblicisminstitute.wordpress.com/2015/03/17/the-truth-about-the-conflict-with-russia/
Before striking Poland, Russia should cut all Gas to Europe suddenly.
That would hit inflation to the levels where public opinion on Europe will start to hate Zelenski and Ukrainians
Yes, I agree.
Hit them where it really hurts, don’t fuel the flames of war. Honestly, Russia should have done that months ago.
It would then have made a bigger impact. We’re entering the spring season, with less demand for gas to heat homes. If it would happen in the middle of winter then people would be screaming for their governments to make peace with Russia when they couldn’t heat their homes anymore.
I think now a better time than during midwinter. It would cause moderate discomfort, but enough to give the shivers and be sufficiently disruptive to normal life without people dying of exposure. This would be a good hard lesson, yet shows compassion to the enemy, giving them reason to relent and repent. Winter is far from over.
Nah…zog media will blame Putin.
Euros are dumb (and old farts) and will believe it.
They will believe what they want and will blame Putin whatever happens, so Russia has nothing to lose.
At the beginning they will want to blame Russia, but if Russia simply stop selling gas, petrol, metals, food and fertilizers to Europe while sell all this in a discount to China or India will be a hard hit for Europe.
Imagine 2 markets of gas, oil and metals. One more expensive for Europe, one cheaper for China.
What will do the European industry? To suffer.
The population will feel the bite of inflation. Damm I al European and I already suffer this.
When European countries will see its industry loosing competition with China they will have to react or loose elections.
Social movements will appear.
People will get annoy with the millions of Ukrainians refugees.
A debt crisis may arise in the Mediterranean countries.
The northern countries will get piss by the inflation, by their lower standards of life and by eastern and southern countries.
The media will blame Russia of course, but angry people blame everyone. They will hate their governments, the Zelenski idiot…
The European Union is a puppet of US, and most of the parties in all sides are pro Atlantics. But divisions will arise at some point. And even if they don’t arise they economy of the European Union will go down. They (we) will loose international prestige…
Pulling the plug to energy is the most human solution. People have to get used to lesser their living standards. But than they will not be responsible for prolonging, even inflaming a war with donating letal weapons. All arose from all those reasons we long know and begun since Germany Green Foreign secretary Joska Fisher in around 2004 begun promisses about « visa relaxations » and later a EU Membership. (a palarmentarian investigation was turned into a propaganda tool) It simply must be kept in mind that Russia’s military action is aimed at winning space for its security, while the US economic policy is aimed at destroying the Russian economy as a way to trigger regime change and even dismantle Russia. But I think we can agree the US used all its capabilities to make Europe a part of it, but that’s not a permanent condition. So let the European feel a bit the heat but not a war. As far as social instability is concerned you can rest in peace, with face recognition and the full blast of « security forces » they will be paralized in a few month like the yellow west movment was showing.
I am not entirely convinced EU is anti-Russian. Most of anti-Russian sentiment comes from Poland and some American vassal states like Czechia and Slovakia. But France, only EU member with nuclear weapons, is chummy with Russia, Macron’s popularity went up for taking role of Russia-Europe middle-man, and French companies were quietly advised not to leave Russian market. Even broken Mistral contract in 2014 may have been political marketing, since then France quietly sold hundreds of millions worth of military components to Russia. And Germany, with 35k US soldiers stationed there, has no sovereignty.
Would not be surprised, if Russians are getting info about whereabouts of EU weapons sent to Ukraine, directly from EU. Nobody in EU can openly support Russia, but they can make it look like they support Ukraine while weapons end up in Russian hands anyway. And allowing citizens to “help” Ukraine, give me a break, its a perfect and clean way for any EU country to denazify by allowing radicals to volunteer into meat grinder.
In Slovakia, poll was made a week ago by primary mainstream TV station.
60% answered that war in Ukraine has been started by USA-NATO.
Most alternative media were shut down by government, same as Czechia, comments and discussions were prohibited too. CNN style campaign all over mainstream media. Russophobic psychopaths are encouraged.
“I am not entirely convinced EU is anti-Russian. Most of anti-Russian sentiment comes from Poland and some American vassal states like Czechia and Slovakia”……..please make clear distinction between politicians and regular people. Or critically, self-reasoning autonomous individuals vs. mindless sheeple (hint: look up for “C19 concoction” statistics for Poland)
France – do you know why Macron has been so active mediating in UA conflict? Hint: check out when next presidential elections are held in this country
Germany – these guys will be doomed big time! They are being invaded for the third time in history by the same characters, yet nobody screams about it (eg. energy crisis = lower competitiveness of export-oriented economy + relatively stronger Euro on the backdrop of USD demise………. = economic doomsdays are coming, especially when one touches upon unfunded public pension liabilities = Germany will have to bail out folks in eg. Belgium or Lux to cover payments for their pensioners………if not? You tell me what possibly can go wrong………..
Saker,
Again thanks for all you do and all the information you share with us.
Regards your latter point, I think that any firing into NATO territory would result in WW3, with Russia standing possibly alone against NATO/USA. This exponentially raises the stakes (needlessly IMO) and exponentially increases the chance of full scale nuclear war, in which case Russia and everyone else would cease to exist. I see that as a pointless outcome – after all, was this the objective of the special operation inside Ukraine? Categorically I’d answer that NO.
I agree, and have stated previously on the forum, that the Russians would do well to create one (and I would think possibly two) bases in the Western territory of Ukraine and I also believe Russia would do well to purge all of Ukraine up to the NATO borders of Nazis and NATO military influenced Ukrainians and mercenaries. Russia has made it clear that this is its objective and NATO/USA has made it clear it will not intervene with troops or initiate a no-fly zone. It really does not matter how many weapons NATO sends to Ukraine. Ultimately, Ukraine will fall and all of those weapons will be given to Russian-friendly forces that become the cornerstone of a reformed Ukraine military.
Regards the corporate media psyops, please do not think it is your responsibility to turn the tide here against the billionaire-funded corporate media of the West. Think about it – the oligarchs who own these media companies (Bezos for example) do business with the USA government across a wide array of products and technologies. So it is in their interest to promote USA propaganda carte blanche. There is nothing anyone can do about it. I occasionally glance at the corporate news headlines for a good laugh, but I do not read their articles. Why? It’s a total waste of time. I know where to get my information – and one of the key places is your blog!
Thanks again!
After the disgusting media debacles from the Afghan and Iraqis wars, I stopped reading the US media. In the last 20 years, I rarely visited those sites.
My understanding is that Western Ukraine is not entirely Slavic and has ethnic Austrians, Hungarians and Poles as well. Can anyone confirm this?
It’s true. At various times in the last 500 years, western Ukraine belonged to Poland and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Poles are slavic, of course, but not the same culture as the other Slavic people. Trans-Carpathia is ethnic Hungarians, but fewer than a million people. Very tragic history during WW2 in Galicia, Bessarabia, etc., so in a truthful world those peoples would want to be friends with Russia, not so much with Germans, even today’s Germans who use Eastern Europe for cheap but very skilled labor.
Hungarians make up only about 12% of Trans-Carpathia. The majority of Trans-Carpathians are Rusyns, an East Slavic ethnic group with their own language (from the same family as Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian) and distinct culture.
All correct, except for the ethnic austrians.
This is an old and western leaning site, but what to do, it gives you a quick overwiev.
https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/major-ethnic-groups-of-the-ukraine.html
I don’t think that Poland will go into banderastan without NATO backing. They know that without backup, they will be toast. And US will not want to risk nuclear war. Polish army is under-equipped, and even their ammunition is not under their control. Plus, there is a patriotic element that isn’t at all excited about being used by the anglo-saxon mutts to do their dirty work. So it would be interesting to see what happens.
Starting with Q3: I don’t see what advantage would bring to strike in Poland, when Iavorov was such a masterpiece, the best single moment of the operation so far. I’d say bring ten, twenty more Iavorov, strictly within Ukraine borders.
Q2: i’m not sure there’s a better option. Russia can definitely advance as far as It wants, but ti what extent? If one traces a northern line from the westernmost part of Transnitria, all the way up to Belarus, one can easily see that this new border with the “west” Is the smallest given, and therefore the easier to guard.
Q1: a.question of which rump will inherit the “Ukraine” name and emblems is emerging. Logically, the mini banderastan around lvov would be Galizia and the liberated part would be Ukraine… But since Zelensky is so good at protecting himself (either from lvov or already from the polish border), It could also end differently: the western rump remains “Ukraine”, the liberated part is free to decide its future via referendum, either becoming popular republics, a Novorossiya of sort, or join the Union state…
Just my opinion, it would be a good idea to throw Lvov (Lviv) to Poland, as compensation for the Wolyn massacres, and so the Polish people never forget the massacre by the formerly-new-best-friends, the Banderas. Historically, Poland was always eager to snatch whatever territory they could get. I had thought it’s a bad idea to get the Polskis and the Bandera together, but if it was what we call “a shotgun marriage”, maybe the world could enjoy watching the Poles trying to tame the Nazis. It’s just a thought.
Really, I expect the Kremlin has gamed out an end-game for the Nazis, and we are not yet even in the middle game. They have had plenty of time to think about it. Moscow has been facing the brown plague in the Ukraine since well before 1939, and there never was a year when the Nazis were not presenting a threat.
What would be ideal is to create a Bandera-Bantustan, a country within a country. Herd all the banderites into a totally land-locked space surrounded by a ukraine friendly to Russia, or at least neutral, cut off from all EU/NATO countries borders. Nothing goes in in any way into this space that would not be controlled. If some of these ukrainians cannot behave themselves like responsible adults, then they need to be watched and their activities limited and monitored until such time that they grow the hell up. I frankly don´t see any hope for the zelensky regime. These people are rotted through with western propaganda and subservience. Negotiating with them is a total waste of time. These goons refused to abide by Minsk for 7 years, so what makes anyone think they will honor whatever agreement they sign with Russia? They will sign whatever, but as soon as Russian forces leave, ukies will go back on their word. It will happen. They will not voluntarily change their worldview. Just not gonna happen.
European EU-countries are likely seeing Russian military power weaker than they estimated it 4 weeks ago. And just based on story MSM is telling. RF forces are ridiculed. That will encourage European NATO.
Good point!
It seems to me that so far all the mockering of the Rusian army in the west has been part of the massive propaganda offensive. The political and military heads of USA, UK, Germany and even Poland have actively avoided actions that could draw closer a Russia-NATO fight. Even after many sources reported many foreign mercenaries killed in Yaroslav, they silenced that reports, remained in the space of plausible deniability. Nevertheless, they are encouraged to provide the ukros with more weapons to prolong the bloodshed. I hope that Russia can deal with increasing efficacy against that irritant.
The sheeple and the politicians might, but Europe’s military experts aren’t that stupid. They know full well that the MSM stories are lies and they know full well what is really happening. I bet the opposite is true for them; they’re shitting their pants over Russia’s now proven capabilities.
Please keep in mind that not a single European NATO country has a military worth a damn. Not one. Some have a handful of formations that are decent or even good, but it doesn’t amount to much. They are all bark and no bite.
There will be NO NATO peacekeeping mission into (western Ukraine) unless this has been explicitly agreed upon with Russia. Which means a backroom deal to split Ukraine.
As to the questions:
1) Yes. Ask yourself the opposite. Can Russia afford to keep the western part inside a new Ukraine that has lost the Crimea and the Donbass republics? There will be no pro-Russia majority in such a state and sooner or later, the entire country will once again tilt towards to the west and become a US/NATO satrapy.
It’s much better to have a small, poor and economically non-viable mini Ukraine all the way in the west than it is to see the current history repeat itself in a decade or so.
2) No. There’s little to be gained for Russia in western Ukraine and a lot that could potentially be lost.
3) Absolutely not. A strike against them inside Poland would trigger article five. A strike on the Ukrainian side of the border would not. But what on earth would be the point of such a strike, no matter what side of the border it is? It can’t be deterrence because you are shooting at NATO. That’s not deterrence, that’s a declaration of war.
If you want to deter Europe and NATO in general, Russia should non-military means. With Russian fertilizers, Europe starves. Without Russian gas, Europe freezes. Without Russian metals and other commodities, Europe’s economy grinds to a halt.
Just the current flow of refugees from Ukraine into Europe is giving them serious problems. It’s a political nightmare for the current leaders. They need the conflict to stop as soon as possible or they will face disastrous election results. Confronting Russia militarily is likely the last thing on their mind. So what if a couple of eastern european countries make a lot of noise. No one in the rest of Europe takes them serious.
*”without Russian fertilizers, … “
What about following through on its threat to destroy supply convoys? As soon at it crosses the border to Ukraine. My understanding is that supplies are coming in disguised as civilian vehicles so you want to have good intelligence. How much of all these arms are likely to arrive in Ukraine. 800 Stingers? That cannot be allowed under any circumstances.
Russia has to do something about the borders if this is to be a protracted conflict. Either destroy it by air or dispatch sabotage teams.
None of those promised weapons will make a significant difference. Don’t buy into the Stinger hype. All NATO is doing is draining its own (very limited!) arsenals and indirectly arming the Donbass republics.
Rubbish. The EU “intelligence” agencies will have a fairly accurate estimation of Russian military power. That is why they are so scared.
Love the work as always brother!

I think Russia should hit Western Ukraine hard with formidable missile attacks. Russian approach to eastern Ukraine has been one of a recognition of close historical, cultural and tribal ties with a citizenry under occupation by an oppressive and foreign regime, namely the Nazis of western Ukraine. But why should such consideration be given to those in the western part of the country. As such the policy of not leveling the cities and raining down unholy terror makes sense. But my understanding of western Ukraine is a different beast altogether. It is from here that the threats to Russia’s security from the US and their Eurolemmings have been encouraged and directed. Show the west what Russian power means without actually attacking Nato. Carve out the eastern Ukraine as a buffer zone and let Nato clean up the mess in the west.
I think Russia should strike just inside Ukraine’s border with Poland to sever it if the Poles start making moves without an agreement with Russia.
I agree.. I think the western “military analysts” are sourly mistaken in their belief that Russian armed forces would conduct the same kind warfare in the central and western part of Ukraine as they currently do in the east and south.
So far I have not seen any used of Thermobaric missiles ( TOS-1), very limited used of long range reactive artillery ( Smerch/Urgan or even Tornado M systems), limited usage of howitzers, and almost no usage at all of high capacity bombers such as SU -24, SU -32, or Tu -22M. The Russians appear to rather take some losses in manpower and equipment than employ the heavy equipment on the current battle fields in the east and in the south. ( historic Russian lands)
Not sure whether they will end up moving north of Zaporozhye and west of Cherkasy, but if they do, just watch out for a whole new warfare style. ( gloves will be off )
Close the chapter with Partition and focus on the future. All other experiments are sucidial and giving only the enemy new space for new maneuvers and sabotage
1. Yes. 2. I’m afraid there’s no better option. 3. If they can’t stop their provocations, they should be hit. Even outside of Ukraine. Otherwise they will never stop. The US always doubles down. This should be made crystal clear.
Yes, the West always doubles down. That is the Martingale Strategy for gambling. This strategy is foolproof as long as there is no “house limit”, and many casinos went bankrupt in the 1700’s before they began to impose “house limits”. You can google it, and here’s Wikipedia;s entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martingale_(betting_system). I wrote about this years before.
The problem with nuclear war is that there is no house limit, and the real threat is either a suicidal elite, or an elite that is fully prepared to appear suicidal. The main hope is that this war will evolve slowly enough so that the people who have the power to stop the elites, will realize their responsibilities in time. That is the US military in the first instance, but also most of the people in the world vigorously backing them up when the time comes. And if the supposed “white hats” in Washington do not exist, then it will take a gigantic push-back. Not 11 million marching in the streets, which didn’t put a dent into the US attack on Iran in 2003, but something far far bigger and more heated. Which the response will be, when/if people realize they are about to lose their future and the whole planet.
Thx. I think now even the US (or the “West”) understands that the Russian counter strike will be something even the invincible West won’t survive either. At least I hope this is the case. Fcuk, I’m living in NATOland….
The West is so gender/culture/religiously confused that once Russia makes an example of the (truly committed men) in Mariupol and “The Cauldron”, there is no real threat left. NATO is even more messed up than the Ottomans or Austria-Hungary in 1914, a dead man walking. Look at the single attack on Yavoriv, that basically ended the external volunteer crusader threat. (Wait, they can kill us, too?)
One the LDNR is liberated, Russia should set up a NovoRossiya in the East which she supports in the same manner as ByeloRussia and leave the iodine-deficient morons in the Western regions alone to be picked over by Hungary and Poland. Then the West can go back to destroying itself even faster than ever.
Hi Saker, thank you for your wonder articles and website. You are a breath of fresh air to this isolated Canadian surrounded by the brainwashed western masses!
I think Russia can handle a nazified and unfriendly mini-Banderastan in western Ukraine. It would require a number of covert Russian personnel on the ground to keep an eye on things. I don’t think Russia will need a base or drive tanks out there.
If a threatening situation were to develop, such as preparations for a nazi terror attack in Ukraine, Russia, or the new republics, Russia can use the Iranian option and hit these people with ballistic or cruise missiles.
I don’t think it’s possible to completely remove this nazi cancer form Ukraine, so measures will need to be taken to limit their ability to cause trouble for Russia and the new republics in the future.
Since the Europeans have shown they have no regard for Russia, the divorce can be finalized by striking a peacekeeping group inside a Nato member’s borders. Russia has nothing left to lose in Europe, and a strike like this will show the Europeans how foolish and dangerous it is to poke the bear. Sadly, I don’t think there is any other way to get the message across, the Europeans refuse to listen to diplomacy or logic.
You’re not alone Trevor! There are many like you…that’s all I’m saying…
Well that’s two of us…I have to watch the radio-canada drivel and it makes me sick. Fortunately the saker is there and Pepe Escobar and Col Doug MacGregor.

Some very good reporting is being done, by Dimitris Liatsos (unfortunately only in the greek language, so far). He has been the appointed reporter from Moscow, for the (allegedly) state channel Ert for 15 years. He was paused from his job recently and replaced by someone who had not even set foot in Moscow, yet claimed to report from there. Anyway, Dimitris is an excellent reporter and has been continuing via radio stations and interviews to other journalists. Here are some key takaways from his most recent report on March 14:
– The phrase “Russia is sending humanitarian assistance too” is misleading. It is ONLY Russia that is sending humanitarian assistance. No one else has. Nowhere, not here in Donetsk, not in Kiev – they have send nothing. Only Russia sent.
– Fact is that the region of Donetsk is being liberated. That is the right word: liberated. And all the people say this, here. The others who were in charge, they didn’t let people obtain the essentials. They were blocking people from shopping, from having access to food… they did not care.
The russian troops… they changed the mayors in Melitopolis and Kherson, and put locals in charge, and told them their first and foremost task is to ensure that provisions, food, medicines -all this assistance- is distributed to the people properly and equally. And there will be order from now on. People will be able to normally move around safely, to go to their work – and in general what they have been told by the russian military officers in charge is that as long as they are here, there will be safety for people’s lives.
– In order to clarify the background here: in all these regions, of eastern Ukraine as well as Taurida, all the bureaucrats in charge had been transferred from western Ukraine. They had treated people like trash. The local personnel wasn’t trusted by the government. And let’s be clear about this: in all these regions of eastern Ukraine the people are with Russia.
(The journalist observes: so, there has been no democracy all this time, since all the officials were planted from elswhere, and locals weren’t able to elect their own mayors, have their local personnel in bureaucratic positions. What you describe is not a democratic regime, they were planting their own pawns).

There is also a stunning lengthy interview of journalist Basilis Makridis (he’s of the Greeks living in Ukraine – currently he is in Athens), who has been explaining all the little-known facts. What is the backround story, what really happened in 2013-14 during the Maidan coup d’etat, and how things got there.
He has been an eye witness to all these events. According to him, all these were directed by US secret services. Their people occupied the 7th floor of the SBU building in Kiev. Only americans were there. The american ambassador, Geoffrey Pyatt run things. There were snipers in Maidan, in buildings such as hotels etc., whose private security was by american firms.
Unfortunately it is also only in greek.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeJkc4VdR4w
The bottomline is that there has been some top class reporting going on, which is independent, by Greek journalists, who have a very thorough knowledge of the Ukraine events, their background, the political situation and how it evolved, and why today is happening.
This reporting is already spreading in many countries outside of Greece. Inside, the situation is overwhelmingly in favour of the Russian operation, the events having been clarified.
We also had a huge incident with the Greek consul of Marioupolis. He was being held, along with other people -around 30- in a basement for days. By Azov battalion paramilitants.
Eventually he was liberated, and moved safely to Berdiansk. Only the official TV channels in Greece had a very difficult time explaining (or rather hiding) why the consul was in Berdiansk, a Russian-controlled city, and who actually liberated these people. It were the Chechens. Things did not get any better by the guilty silence of the Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry. Fact is, there is hardly anyone left in Greece that doesn’t know what is actually going on.
I hope some of this reporting and facts cheer you up. :-)
China has sent tonnes of humanitarian assistance.
That’s all I know so far, amarynth, from Dimitris Liatsos’ latest reporting on March 14th. It was mostly focused in Donetsk region.
“We also had a huge incident with the Greek consul of Marioupolis. He was being held, along with other people -around 30- in a basement for days. By Azov battalion paramilitants.”
When did this happen? Just before the Russian operation? And do you know more about the ethnic Greeks who were killed by a Ukrainian soldier about a month ago?
It was a few days ago. The Russian operation in Marioupolis is still ongoing, and the Chechens have been very effective.
Yes, and there were more than one killings.
And those Ukrainians, who commited them, are already dead.
If it was a few days ago, and they were in the basement for 30 days then that means it started BEFORE the Russian operation. So things must have been strongly escalating in Ukraine 1-2 weeks before the Russians came (by your description the hostage situation would have happened around February 12 because, as of today March 17th, it has been 30 + 3 days from then since Feb. only has 28 days), yet all western media was silent about this. Did Russian media have anything on what was going on in the Greek consul when it first started, or were even they in the dark then?
But who says that *all* of the hostages were there 30 days? He could have been captured later, and was “in the basement for days”, as she writes. She didn’t write 30 days. She writes “around 30 hostages” at that time.
Some witnesses speaking out now depicts a somewhat fluid situation during that month, eventually with hundreds of people in hostage.
How do you know that the exact ukrainians who killedthose Greeks are dead? I hope it is so, but I wouod like some detail please.
Also, spread the word that the Ukros kept an Allied NATO consul hostage!!! It just shows what a lie we are living and being told about these so called Innocent Ukros.
Thanks, Ekate, that cheers me up immensely. I am a Britisher but my father was Greek, and I remember him taking me as a child to watch the newsreels of Greek soldiers fighting so hard that little Greece critically delayed the Nazi advance on Russia until winter.
Arthur Ponsonby wrote, ” When war is declared, truth is the first casualty. ”
He wrote the book, Falsehood in Wartime in 1928 looking back at WW1. He outlined the following rules of propaganda ( gist not quote ) :
1. We don’t want war, we are only defending ourselves!
2. Our adversary is solely responsible for this war!
3. Our adversary’s leader is inherently evil and resembles the devil
4. We are defending a noble cause, not our particular interests!
5 The enemy is purposefully committing atrocities; while if we make mistakes, this happens without intention
6. The enemy makes use of illegal weapons
7 We suffer few losses, the enemy’s losses are considerable
8 Recognized intellectuals and artists support our cause
9 Our cause is sacred
10 Whoever casts doubt on our propaganda helps the enemy and is a traitor
100 years later, it’s still a pretty accurate description.
Thank you. An interesting book, not hard to find online. It’s far enough separated from our time that most of us don’t need to question things we’ve been told about more recent wars, yet many of the same things described appear to be happening almost 100 years later. Note, for example, the public perception of the Kaiser during the war, and the stories of shocking atrocities that were sought out and based on basically nothing.
All 10 points is what West accuses Russia for saying, and vice versa. A lot of people says: “Both sides are lying”. And leave it at that.
In my opinion, Russia is telling the truth about West, while West is lying about Russia.
I know I am “knocking down open doors” here, but my mind is reeling when I try to encompass the width of that, for if true, then this war is really, really a war between good and bad, light and darkness.
I know that “all” of you here already see this, but still, it is such a huge and great event in the history of mankind that I still can’t grasp that it is actually happening while I am alive (so far).
It reminds med of the Indian epos Mahabaharata.
Often, when I read it, or watch it on films, I am thinking: Is this actually a description of what is happening now, centuries/millenias after it was written down? Lika a “manual” for us all. (Spoiler: the good side wins, but when the war is over, only widows, children and elderly are alive, except for a few heroes on the good side.)
Polish ambitions for Western Ukraine are no secret. Is it necessary for Russia to go into Western Ukraine with regular ground troops? Probably not. The fighting there would be bad. Polish troops and Western SOF with UKR velcro patches. Such a “West-Ukraine” would become a designated battleground. Difficult. What is clear is that Ukraine can never again exist as a sovereign nation. A “West-Ukraine” would not be able to survive. So give it to Poland, minus the Hungarian part. What makes that solution difficult is PL’s and HU’s status as Western satrapies. The would be some major shifts required in the West before such a solution would be acceptable.
What makes that solution difficult is PL’s and HU’s status as Western satrapies.
Yes, for the EU it would be like swallowing a coat hanger. Something to relish if it happens.
But I thought of this too at the start, best way to deal w/ W.UKR is to force some sort of situation where HU and PL are “forced, forced I tell you!” with all the appropriate media pearl clutching, to put their wings around the their co-national parts of UKR with some previous tacit arrangement with Russia. They can make Russia look like the baddy, at this point I doubt Russia cares much as long as it gets rid of a festering boil. After a bit they hold elections like Crimea. Works out best for the big dogs, as for UKR it was a poodle from the start. Of course the USA gets to decide. Once consolidated in the east and Kiev, Russia could threaten to do a Grozny on W.UKR driving millions more to the West, which might make the vassals scream so loud the USA will listen. What’s that curse, may you live in interesting times?
I think that Russia would be foolish to allow a mini-Banderastan to exist in West Ukraine. You’d see shelling and provocations constantly coming from there. I do see after that area is denazified it could be granted some kind of autonomy maybe along the lines of Belgium with a West Ukraine and East Ukraine in an overall Federal Ukraine. With the West Ukraine smaller than the map here shows it. It should only include the territory that was non-Soviet in 1938. Its in that area that the people speak a pure “Ukrainian” dialect, and a lot of them are Unite. The other ,East Ukraine, should not include the Novorussian regions, just what is today called Central Ukraine. The Novorussian areas should be allowed total independence from any “Ukraine”.
As to the NATO military force. If they put a foot over the Ukrainian border destroy them. If that doesn’t wake them up,then hit the bases in Poland.
Did you see where the US is getting Slovakia to give Ukraine their S-300 system. What should we make of that. Is it to protect against another Iavorov style attack in West Ukraine. Or is it more serious than that,an attempt to get a no fly zone of their own. I keep saying this nazi drug addict regime has to go. Not a signed deal with them, only a surrender and then trials.
Just a thought on the S-300 system, the nanosecond it crosses the border, blow it up. Done and dusted :)
Whoever lazerbrain came up with that idiotic plan probably has forgotten that those S-300 where designed by the russians, and therefore russians know everything about them including how to detect, jam and destroy them. Not to mention that the S-300 sold to other countries are downgraded models to what the russians use.
At least, the bulgarians so far seem to resist the pressure, applied to them by US, to send their S-300. Not sure for how long thou.
They only give them away once a deal to replace them has been made, replacements in case a larger war breaks out and they are needed.
You see what generosity brings, a trust that you wont want the generosity back.
Question #3, stick to the book. Hit them if they cross the border. If they really want it, make them earn it.
I personally don´t think they are coming. The strick on the camp showed them exactly what awaits univited party guests or tourists. MacGregor mentioned todaymaybe a day or two ago, about reports from various US vets who have just returned from Ukraine that they were aghast at what the Russian military can do and told the folks back home not to come and help, only death awaits you.
Ouch! That hurt.
De-militarisation in action

The Russian military destroyed an artillery battery of 152-mm howitzers of the Ukrainian army with high-precision weapons
De-nazification in action in Kherson
https://t.me/panteri_panteri/17607
The work of our specialists in Kherson. We will not comment. We warned you, it will be like this everywhere.
@Andrei
I will repeat: Russians goal (or demand) is to push NATO beyond 1997. positions. They want to lure US and dwarfs into battle and to destroy as many of them as possible. That is the only positive outcome for the Russia. Having NATO in Donetsk or in Lviv is basicaly the same. In that case, this “military-technical solution” for Ukraine would be pointless.
That could explain deliberate slow advance of Russians, and use of suboptimal resources. Russia faint weakness to encourage Anglos to step in instead of using proxies.
This is just opening move of much larger game. Great deal of preparations has been done in recent year(s), not in vain. We ain’t seen nothing yet.
I am waiting for China to make it’s move. Make no mistake, they will. It will be spectacular.
I really don’t believe that. No one but the crazy USA wants war.
Please, what you are advocating is a beginning of the end of civilization. No matter how strong Russia is, a full blown war with NATO proper would obliterate it.
Along with much of Europe and a tiny bit of USA mainland.
What you believe or dont believe has nothing to do with it. As Blackring says we aint seen nothing yet. Everything is connected and this has been in the planning for many many years. Make your own plans now and think about your own security, food, clean water, heat and shelter.
From where I stand I can see Mars getting closer and closer.
I love you but you are mistaken.
What happens is the belligerent countries’ elements that survive the first strike continue to prosecute the war even if it means using bows and arrows, knives, rocks and sticks.
There has never been a weapon so powerful its use alone stopped a war except when the outcome was already a foregone conclusion. Please show me one instance in history where using the superweapon at the beginning or in the middle stopped the war. By the time we dropped the bombs on Japan everybody knew it was over and they were gonna lose anyway.
And what will actually happen if NATO and Russia go nuclear is we all have to learn to speak Chinese. They actually believe they are “civilization”.
“Please, what you are advocating is a beginning of the end of civilization.”
We are way beyond begining of the end of Anglosaxon civilization. Majority of the World will celebrate its final demise. (Well, brainwashed deviants, promoted by Empire, certainly won’t).
Look around the globe, it is not only Russia involved.
I second that.
Also: A significant part of the instigation and push to extremism (to > US) is being done from Odessa. No doubt, the russian military knows very well why, how, who.
Odessa will be cleaned up the rough way. Gloves off. Watch how fast then the screeching stops.
Question 1: in your opinion, can Russia afford to have a non-demilitarized and non-denazified (landlocked) mini-Banderastan if the rest of the Ukraine is liberated?
NO ! If you don’t finish this off inside Ukraine proper, the Nazis will ALWAYS be a tool of NATO, serving only as a continuous tripping foot and sharp stick in the eye to Russia, and also to Ukrainian citizens.
Would you allow a scorpion to remain alive in your house ? Even if you didn’t want to kill it, you’d at least get it out of the house. Well. Ukraine proper IS the house.
So the time is NOW, not after decades more of continuous evil, hostility, and rottenness from the NATOnazis ! It’s never going to get any easier than it is right now.
At MOST you might negotiate something like the DMZ in between the Koreas, starting at the Polish border (and maybe all the Western Ukraine border countries?) for about 10 km. A true no-man’s land. Let the NATOnazis move to Poland if they so choose. But NO NATOnazis should be left in Ukraine anymore.
Question 2: is there a better option? Do you think that the Russian tanks should drive all the way to the western Ukraine and, if yes, how long do you want them to stay?
As long as it takes to negotiate and activate a DMZ.
Question 3: If a NATO “peacekeeping force” is detected approaching the Ukrainian border, should Russia wait until they cross to strike, or shall Russia repeat what she just did in Iavorov but inside Poland?
Let them cross into the Ukraine where they are legitimate targets.
Even most Westerners didn’t balk “too much” about the Lavorov incident, because it wasn’t part of NATOstan.
Inviting more trouble to oneself by attacking inside NATOstan, especially when it isn’t necessary, just isn’t wise.
Of course it won’t stop the false flag nonsense if a NATO plane crosses into Ukrainian terrority and gets shot down (wherein the West would lie and lie and lie and lie about where the plane was at the time), but Russia will still be able to have the Truth on its side, and at least provable evidence to the rest of the world.
Yes, I agree. For now it would be too risky to strike Natostan. A strike in Natostan must be done just in the case there is an atack on russian forces in Ukrain or Russian territory.
The main question remains – Nato must retreat to 1997 positions.
Quick question, are you sure NATO will survive this (latest) debacle? I could see a splintering of the alliance once this is all over.
I’d be really glad to see russian tanks making a parking lot out of that EU Parliament in Brussels….
So would many long suffering European taxpayers and Businesses.
The EU Parliament is just theatre. The EU bureaucracy is the enemy and they are embedded everywhere.
Good evening Saker, in regard to your questions, my thoughts
1) A conditional yes, if Russia succeeds in the destruction of the majority of the ukro weponry (ideally, anything more lethal than AKs. I guess it would save many lives if the Nazis have somewhere to run (if not, they would keep killing as many human shields as possible. Also, It would be highly desirable that the heads of Nazi scum like Biletsky, Yarosh and other “high profile”, could be neutralized first.
2) Really, not sure, that “minibanderastan” overlaps with the regions that never were “Russian” prior to 1945. Better give that headache to the Poles?
3) I think that will be better to declare that any such expedition that crosses into Ukraine would be seen as an attack on Russia, and if a crossing happens nevertheless, repeat Iavorov but in “Ukraine proper” (therefore not giving excuses for the Anglos to drag the relectant Euros into the fight). Also, destroy as much as possible any weapons send to the ukros before they reach destination.
My 2 cents. Have a most blessed day
Ukraine will be a failed state like libya. It will attract terrorists and all sorts of human scum, and lviv will be the capitol. Russia should arm the new ukrainian gov with artillery and let them handle it.
I agree with previous commenters that, no, Russia should not expand the military theatre outside of Ukraine in any way. The main aspect of the war that Russia is clearly losing is the narrative war (at least in the West). Attacking outside of Ukraine would simply feed those that desire for NATO to join and escalate this to WWIII.
It seems that Zelensky and NATO don’t want to negotiate, but want to play a waiting game to see how much pain the economic sanctions and the dragged-out war can exact on Russia.
The question, as so many have previously noted, is who actually will feel the pain as intolerable first – Russia or the West?
If it’s Russia, then as their next step, they should take it up a notch, not militarily, but economically, by cutting off real resources.
The true underbelly of the West is how disconnected (we) are from physical reality. Cut off the gas, the fertilizer, the oil, the metals. Let the West get out of their (our) heads.
As far as the narrative war in the West goes, I’ve written a long letter (blog-post) to friends and family to give a bigger and better picture than what they are seeing in Western corporate media:
https://cluelesshonky.blogspot.com/2022/03/one-big-backstory-behind-everything.html
I’m not holding my breath on this one, but I am trying to view this positively: that this is the moment in world history when the majority in the West see how much they have been failed by the corporate media. Perhaps the boomerang effects from the economic sanctions against Russia have the ability to shake us in the West out of our sleep. Or, at least, it has a better chance than anything that’s ever come before.
May we come back to reality sooner than later.
Your letter provides a great summary of why Russia is not worried about Ukraine in the long run!
Dr D at the Automatic Earth has a similar viewpoint:
https://www.theautomaticearth.com/2022/03/the-west-is-at-war-with-itself/
“Russia is going to crush the whole West. But that’s not Russia’s fault: the entire West is so rotten it’s barely been standing for decades now, and certainly since ’08.””
“The West is being boycotted. They have embargoed themselves. They are a stark minority on planet earth, taking too much and making too little. The embargo they have placed on themselves will collapse their banking and financial system even as their manufacturers cannot function when lacking raw materials. They cannot rebuild for many years and will go hungry.”
A Galicia resorbed into Poland would be best by far.
An independent Galicia would undoubtedly be recognized as the “real” (rump, definitely) Ukraine inheriting the UN seat and quickly become a full member of NATO while violently arming with nukes and biologicals and serving as “safe haven” for cross-border “covert” attacks.
Barring resorption, then, prolonged occupation/”denazification” is the only sensible solution.
There are nuke-ready Aegis Ashore missile systems in Poland and Romania that have a 12 minute flight time to Mosacow. I suspect the Russians are patiently waiting a suitable enabler for a direct strike on one or both of the systems. That would seriously de-militarise NATOs capabilities. The Russians could be nice and even give the US troops there a 5 minute warning, as the Iranians did to the US troops in Iraq after the US murdered Solemeini.
Q1: i don’t think so. It just kicks the can down the road. And the resolve and preparations of Russians indicate they intend to settle with the C&C Anglo-Saxons who have fueled this madness for a century..
Q2: I have no idea. However a war of attrition is not in Russians’ interest.. a judo move is likely on the cards. And it likely involves the answer to Q1 (the C&C Anglos).
Q3: Yes. Article V has to be exposed as impotent as were the promises to the Ukies. A major shock is needed to return what remains of the West to sanity. Even if US answers Article V, it would fracture NATO as DE just said it was a red line to fight in Ukraine.
PS – I like Eurolemmings! It is more apt than Eurorodents; a rodent is smart and acts promptly to save itself.
Paul Craig Roberts has a point. Hitler conquered all of Europe in less time than Russia is now taking messing around in Ukraine. The rest of the world is beginning to see Russia as weak. Just like the world saw the USA as weak when it pulled out of Afghanistan, beaten by a ragtag bunch armed with Kalashnikov rifles. Remember Biden before the pullout. He said Afghanistan had 250,000 well armed troops vs 50,000 Taliban with a few rifles. Biden maintained there was no way the Taliban would take over. Biden talked like he believed that. I think he actually did believe it. It was just bs fed to him by his “expert” military advisors, generals and admirals.
Now to my point. It appears that Putin was fed the same type of bs by his military advisors, generals and admirals about how great the Russian army is. “It would be a walk in the park to take Ukraine”, the military advisors, generals and admirals said. Now things are going so poorly that the west has time to build up troops in NATO and has time to send weapons to the beleaguered Ukie forces. And the Russian central bank protected Russia so good by putting more than half of their reserves in foreign countries so they could be confiscated by the west. Meanwhile Ukie leaders have time to shoot off their mouths to tell the world how the Ukies are standing up the the murdering Russians. And the world has time to turn a Russian victory into a Russian catastrophe.
Joe
Dr. Paul Craig Roberts is an excellent analyst. However, when it comes to Russia, he is prone to making exaggerations. First of all, Hitlers victories in 1940 are highly suspicious, and this applies to France. He won too easily. The impression is that the whole military operation was prearranged. The British Expeditionary Force retreated to Dunkirk. Hitler ordered his panzers to stop, permitting the British force to be evacuated to Britain. Hitler then started moving his Army towards the Soviet Union (Russia), the chief German target. This, no doubt, is what Western bankers wanted, the invasion and break up of Russia, something they still want.
The Russian military campaign in Ukraine cannot be compared to Russian activities in World War Two. Even Dr. Roberts stated that Russian concern for Ukrainian civilians will not be appreciated in the West, as it isn’t. All it did was slow down the Russian advance. Had World War Two methods been applied, the Ukrainian military would have surrendered by now.
Things going “so poorly” ? Really ? “The rest of the world is beginning to see Russia as weak”. Really ? What happened to that mercenary military base in Western Ukraine ? I believe it was destroyed by Russian Kalibr missiles, which should have impressed NATO.
You have some thoughtful comments. However only time will tell. Meanwhile I see Zelensky shooting off his mouth to the US Congress and to others around the world, the USA voting to send billions of more dollars to Ukraine, a US senator and other western loudmouths calling for President Putin to be assassinated, the USA sending 100,000 more troops to NATO, NATO countries calling up more troops, Finland officially requesting to join NATO etc. etc.
It sure looks to me like a tremendous number of people in the west are starting to view Russia as weak. just like the USA was viewed as weak when it pulled out of Afghanistan. Clearly the growing western view that Russia is weak is due to the slow pace of things in Ukraine. The longer this drags out more and more people will also come to believe that Russia is weak.
Joe
“It sure looks to me like a tremendous number of people in the west are starting to view Russia as weak …”.
I think not. Those who think Russia is “weak’ cannot be considered experts at anything, as current Russian activities in Ukraine cannot be compared to Russian activities during World War Two. As for those 100.000 troops that the US is sending to NATO, I am waiting to see if they will really arrive. From where will the US procure them ? Then you have the problem of logistics, transporting the troops, housing them, feeding them, etc. What we have here is plenty of psychological and political rhetoric NATO pretending it can do something.
Your problem Joe, as I see it is you watch too much MSM. Ignore it, clear you head of the absorbed propaganda and you will see the actual situation.
You quote Biden and other scumbag puppets; who fives a faarck what they say.
Turn the TV off.
“Had World War Two methods been applied, the Ukrainian military would have surrendered by now.”
And Russia would have to pay and rebuild all infrastructure destroyed in the process. Look destruction after this, “gentle” approach. It would be 10 times worse. Like Ar Raqqah, Syria.
Sucker’s deal.
Indeed German gains were not due only to military might, but were greatly aided by intelligence and spies.
In SSSR however, that was different, because soviet authorities crushed all the treat of traitors; you know, those “stalinist purges” in the armey that the West cries so much about.
At least that is said so (that the soviet purges on the soviet army had a very bad outcome for german plans) in memoirs of german intelligence officers.
Not everybody in the West hat Russia or the Russian people. The other day was at a demonstration for another reason and all the speakers mentioned that the war didn`t start last month but actually at least 8 years ago and that there were actual Nazis in Ukraine. While we were walking through the town we saw people with Russian flags standing at the side and everybody in the demonstration cheered at them.
Here in Germany there is a potential of about 10 Million people who are pro-Russian. All the people who have been discriminated against in the last 2 years, beaten up by police, excluded from public life demonized as selfish and often even prevented from seeking medical help are now also the ones who see through the propaganda in the Ukraine war.
The others don’t see it, not because they are particular Russian-haters by nature or culture, but because propaganda just works too well. By supporting the Ukraine they are being made to believe they are righteous and good and peace-loving. Modern propaganda is scientifically developed to create this reaction in people. The only people it doesn’t work are those who no longer consume mainstream-media or those who have been the victims of propaganda and hatred themselves. I believe that once the instruments of propaganda have been taken out of the hands of the western oligarchy, we will be able to live together in peace and friendship, Russia and Germany. While some Germans are indeed capable of terrible cruelty, this is not the attitude of the majority of the population in our times, and we are also able to repent for what we have done wrong once we see the errors of our way when we have allowed others to lead as astray.
That’s why Zelinksy is still alive. Russia will rather to negotiate with Ukr government than to have vacuum of disintegrated state.
Someone will have to sign something in Ukr which will probably include some kind of join observers force or something like that.
Biggest problem here I see is EU where EU nations are not capable to practice their will even if they wanted to make some agreement with Ru. Decisions are made in Brussels not in Paris or Berlin and Brussels will never make any agreement with Russia.
USA defacto destroyed EU, and weakened (temporarily) Ru
Also if in the end there is a ‘peace’ treaty between Russia and the old and current Ukraine (leadership), then there is no good way for the West to keep the sanction. So the West probably tries that from keep happening. If there are questions about the legality of the government then it will end like with the internationally unrecognised state of Crimea.
I am not sure how much interest Poland, Hungary and the other countries have to get some parts of Ukraine. There are historical interests. But that would destroy the current EU. But occupying part of it with military and a frozen conflict and new cold war between east and west, might be the best the west could get at the moment. They will not accept defeat.
PS:
My predications were mostly wrong in the past. So maybe there is hope for a better outcome.
Russia should take most of Ukraine current leaving Ukrainian-speaking Banderastan as buffer with Europe-NATO-Poland.
Why bother making NovoRussiya-Ukraine some sort of autonomous zone? This will just invite more bad actors. Anyone who doesn’t want to live under Russian authority is free to move to Banderastan-West Ukraine.
If the small Baltic States want to host NATO armaments and troops they should be captured.
Bottom line: the West has demonstrated not only bad faith but hostile intent against Russia for years now. The time for compromise and accommodation has passed and it is both necessary and correct for Russia to stand forth far more assertively. In terms of the information war she has to keep drawing contrast between Empire of Lies and her more traditional, common sense view rooted in her essential Christian-Russian culture.
Her doing this will result in Eurasia now splitting along hard fault lines for the foreseeable future as the sanctions regime has already initiated. This will force the West to wake up and self evaluate or decline in influence and wealth whilst Central and Eastern Eurasia begin a new civilizational era. The USA will lose its hegemonic grip on world finance in general and key elements in Eurasia in particular.
As the Atlantic axis weakens, hopefully Germany can begin to integrate with BRI inroads into Europe proper as the latter lets go of allowing it to be dominated by US. In Asia, hopefully Japan can begin to do the same if China-Japan are able to bury the hatchet (no small ask).
My only doubt about all this is that cannot help but entertain suspicion that this is all a grand manufactured crisis (a la WW I & II) in which all seeming adversaries are being played by the same shadowy power elites to effect their techno-fascist world wide ‘reset’ but maybe that’s going too far down conspiracy lane.
@ Saker
Thanks, as always, for the update.
Question1: in your opinion, can Russia afford to have a non-demilitarized and non-denazified (landlocked) mini-Banderastan if the rest of the Ukraine is liberated?
No.
I guess is that the devil would be in the details.
The devil would be in having a “non-demilitarized and non-denazified (landlocked) mini-Banderastan…” next to the new western border, a festering danger.
Question2: is there a better option? Do you think that the Russian tanks should drive all the way to the western Ukraine and, if yes, how long do you want them to say?
BTW, I am sure you meant to say “how long do you want them to stay?” the “t” is missing.
Russia needs to complete the job, all the way to the western border, push the AFU across the border, and see what happens. If they start shooting from across the border, neutralize them, they will become a legit target, no matter who is shooting. Russia will be able to present the US/Eurostan with a new reality on the ground. Negotiations can start then and only then about the future of Ukraine.
Question3: If a NATO “peacekeeping force” is detected approaching the Ukrainian border, should Russia wait until they cross to strike, or shall Russia repeat what she just did in Iavorov but inside Poland?
The result will be the same, why not wait and legitimate the strike by showing the remnants of the “peacekeeping” force inside Ukraine? Let’s avoid more “international condemnations” that we already have. The trick is they would send in unarmed soldiers as “peacekeepers” whose weapons will be waiting inside Ukraine, not a good idea to let them in. They will already have the uniforms, get a rifle inside Ukraine, and go kill Russians.
Lone Wolf
I say Russia should definitely push into western Ukraine and not stop. At the same time, these lands should not be kept unless Putin has the willpower to conduct true Russification there and to erase the “Ukrainian” identity from this land entirely, something that I dont see as possible unfortunately. At the very least, any military capacity there must be annihilated comprehensively. Once the banderites of Galicia have had their fill of Kaliber and assorted other munitions and are considerably more docile, they should be left to form a new Ukraine. This would create risk unfortunately but having them as part of Russia is a much worse risk. A broken and devastated Galicia can then join NATO and EU all it wants, it would offer no strategic benefit to them but can serve as a way to flood all those donated guns and MANPADs into the EU. It can also drain the EU budget even worse than Poland.
As for NATO- Russia has no choice but to keep it’s promise and kill any foreign troops that enter Ukraine. That is also what should be done. No need to launch strikes into Poland yet, I’m sure hot heads will cool even from dead Nato troops in Ukraine.
My only worry about an independent Galicia is that the US might go entirely mad and go the route of not taking them into the EU or NATO, but giving them nukes in some way so they can still try a Pakistan/Taiwan/Lebanon scenario despite it clearly being a terrible idea and very harmful to the EU.
“Question1:
In your opinion, can Russia afford to have a non-demilitarized and non-denazified (landlocked) mini-Banderastan if the rest of the Ukraine is liberated?”
It doesn’t matter in the long run. If the collective West decides to abandon the Ukraine, it will just arm Poland with everything, including the nuclear option. In that case, the hostile border just shifts a bit to the west. Either way, Russia should pick the most economically sound option. More than anything, Russia needs complete decoupling of it’s economy from the hostile western countries, first and foremost.
“Question2:
Is there a better option? Do you think that the Russian tanks should drive all the way to the western Ukraine and, if yes, how long do you want them to say?”
It would be wise to not overstretch the limited military resources. The war in the Ukraine is just one of many coming battles against the Empire of Lies. There will be more wars in the near future, including military hot ones.
“Question3:
If a NATO “peacekeeping force” is detected approaching the Ukrainian border, should Russia wait until they cross to strike, or shall Russia repeat what she just did in Iavorov but inside Poland?”
Until the NATO forces decide to strike russian forces inside the Ukraine, Russia should do everything in it’s power to not escalate this war further. “Peacekeeping” NATO forces must not cross the river Dnieper, though.
If they do so, they would be fair game, because that is de facto russian territory now. But, let us hope and pray to God that does not happen. Else, WWIII would have officially begun.
As long as God gives us strength. There is no greater strength than God.That will be proven, for those who have begun to doubt it.
Question1: YES, this would achieve the two goals of the Russian Special Operation: Disarm and Denazification. However there is a bigger picture here and i believe the burden could be shared by Belarus. They could annex a significant area of Ukraine land and be there zone of control.
Question2: NO, the western region of Ukraine is a lost cause. it could well be annexed by Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Slovakia. This could be leverage for Moscow in peace negotiations. ie offer these countries land.
Question3: Russia has been very clear with regard to combatants. The minute they enter Ukraine with weapons they are combatants and hence targets. Under NO circumstances should Russia hit any forces outside Ukraine.
1.) Every single inch of Ukraine must be exposed to a Russian presence. Those opposing Russia will never stop. Even after surrendering or being defeated they will soon regroup and try a new strategy and ultimately a new attack. These people are not to be trusted on any level. These people are fanatics. Should Russia turn Ukraine into a vassal state? Maybe. I am an American and have seen the US police Germany and Japan since WW2. It isn’t right. It’s one of many things that I as an American am embarrassed about. But one must admit it has been effective. When you’re making an omelette, you gotta crack a few eggs.
2.). Yes …..Russia should drive their tanks all the way to the Western edge of Ukraine. And stay as long as is necessary to flush out the problem and bring into line those who decide to stick around. This skirmish took place because Russia saw everything that was unfolding as an existential threat. If self-preservation is one of Russia’s instincts ….half-measures will only leave the door open for more existential threats. Maybe this will also let the world know that Russia means business. I don’t think the collective west understands that as of yet.
3.). It will be up to Russia to decide how to handle “peacekeeping” forces. Depending on the size of the force….they might let them cross and take care of business then and then only. On the other hand if the said force is amassing weapons (for example) in Poland….and parking them there ….at the Ukrainian border….and pointing them at or even shooting them at Russian forces ….then I think those targets would be fair game regardless of which side of the border they are parked.
Just my $0.02
Some thoughts on the questions. 1. the West would consider it a victory, Ukraine has stopped the Russian army. That wouldn’t matter in itself, but it would probably continue to pour oil on the fire endlessly. Western Ukraine would be a powder keg for madmen and sooner or later a single weapons depot. Why should the West suddenly become reasonable and not continue to lie and cheat? And then, after a year, the second part of Operation Z would have to follow? On the other hand, some calm would return, the economic dimension and negotiations could come to the fore again, and Russia could come up with more counter-sanctions in its backpack. It depends on how the European economy develops. It must be said, unfortunately, that the brutal collapse of the European economy is more than questionable. With these quick judgments, unfortunately, the wish is often father to the thought. If it develops acceptably, everything was a success and people will not stop demonizing Russia. And as long as only the lower half of the population groans, everything is a success for the political elite. That is just thrickle down.
2 I have the impression that this would be a bigger deal militarily. I am not familiar with military planning, but combing through such a large country to the western border seems to me to be considerably more than has been done so far. Everything takes longer, the West has time to think up all the nastiness in the world. On the other hand, the official goal of the mission seems to have been to demilitarize the whole country. So I suppose there must be such plans or did they miscalculate? It also makes more sense for the security architecture in Europe. But is there anyone in Ukraine who could support Russia?
3 In the current climate, I can’t imagine that this could bring anything positive. The U.S. would probably like it and all military aircraft would be delivering weapons non-stop to Europe. It would also shrink those groups in Europe that are sympathetic to the Russian position and tired of the propaganda. What other arguments should they find when Russia is shelling more countries? OK, destroying all weapons coming to Ukraine is one thing, but bombing more countries only increases the psychotic level. So no, Europe does not need a fist bump, but a sedative.

Tough questions.
1) Eeek. Ukraine was a buffer because they aren’t in Nato. I don’t think it’s realistic because the US will not go along with agreeing to a demilitarized zone and even if they did they can’t be trusted. I think it would be amazing to see the transformation of the Ukrainian people under Russia. The newly transformed might squash any color revolution type nonsense if it rears it’s ugly head. In the end Russia may not have another option.
2) As far as going into western Ukraine, compromise could be achieved before they go so far but yes, the troops should camp out indefinitely. Pull a US occupation type scenario.
3) I wouldn’t fire inside Poland. The maneuver Russia executed Sunday was brilliant. It has them shaking in their shoes. They could continue along these lines. Nothing seems to get through to these warped creatures other than what they know. Fear and destruction. A massive show of power. Sometimes you have to meet people where they live.
My theory on the US game plan:
They want russia to Drop nukes. Ideally one, a few would be acceptable. In Europe of course.
They hope that this will burn all bridges to Europa and make it much easier to make others Drop Support.
All this slow but steady Eskalation points to this.
1. Provoke conventional strife on e.g. Polish supply/drone base
2. Retaliate massive but conventional
3. I think at this Point russia will have to make a clear Statement – or risk to Lose the war militarily.
After that, the West will be open to peace. If russia “keeps” all/part of Ukraine does not matter, nobody cares. They Played their Part, they can now go.
Now the West feels 1) Free to use nukes on their own in other wars 2) use this as justification to seek first strike capabilities and 3) actually strike against russia.
Hey, with some sort of “mild” nuclear Winter we might even counter climate change!
Putin said that if you see that war is coming, then strike first, so for #3, I say yes, Iskanders and Kalibrs, in Poland, wipe out the “peacekeeping” force. They are an existential threat. This answers questions 1 and 2 as well. Give these Nazis (the united West) an inch, and they will want all of it.
My gut tells me that Russia needs to annex all of Ukraine. Sure, it will cost a lot, but it’s the only way to stay and do the work of denazification and war tribunals. This may be the punch in the mouth that the US/Nato/vassals needs to back off.
Russia is prepared for war with the US, so yeah, let ‘er rip. No more games. Shoot to kill. It’s the only way to stop them.
Woah there, Rambo! Slow down a bit, ok?
Q1. No If you leave the door open they’ll be back. Close the door for good.
Q2. Yes drive all the way to the border. Take it all and push the nazis into Poland. Let them deal with them. Firm up the border. Russia doesn’t need to stay. Change the constitution and outlaw the nazi movement. All of them. Turn over the administration to a new government with ties to Russia. Russian police to be stationed like Syria. Not tank’s.
Q2. No. Don’t attack NATO inside there area. However as soon as they cross destroy them.
Let’s not forget this is bigger than just Ukraine. It’s the new beginning of a new age and I’m happy to be here seeing it.
1. No. Azov should not be independent. Dilute Azov in Poland. Make Azov a present Brussels can’t refuse.
Preferable to a Russian base as counterweight to Deveselu/Redzikowo is no bases at all – Russia withdraws, Poland and Romania dismantle.
2. Maybe. Do not rule it out, but no need at the moment.
3. Give Poland and Romania the same choice Ukraine had: talk to Lavrov; if you do not wish to talk to Lavrov, you can talk to Shoigu. Ask in a friendly and polite way to consider closing the Aegis Ashore/Tomahawk bases.
Question 2: Better Option?
The obvious Better Option is that — once Russia has achieved its military objectives — request China to broker a peace settlement. China, because it is one of the few countries which does not have antagonistic relations with either Russia or the Ukraine; it is also the Ukraine’s primary trade partner; and China has interests in the Ukraine as part of the Belt & Road initiative, which means China could be willing to invest in the necessary rebuilding of Ukrainian infrastructure.
The Ukrainian side would have to give up territory, commit to not joining NATO, and limit its future military forces. Russia would withdraw from territory that remains Ukrainian. Chinese military forces would set up bases in that remaining Ukraine to guarantee that Russia would not attack the Ukraine again, and (more importantly) to make sure that NATO could not sneak offensive weapons into the country.
China might like to take on this burden, essentially to stick a finger in the eye of NATO and to show the world how feeble the US has become. China — the Great Peacemaker!
I avoid the western msm – watching even a few minutes of it makes me feel like I have after eating a McDonald burger – stomach ache or worse,
To your questions…
Q1: No, it leaves the hornet’s nest in place and it will continue to harass and sting.
Q2: a) better option? Depends on what you consider better. b) tanks to western Ukraine? Not if this will draw out the conflict for several months; imo, that would only provide more opportunities for the NATOnuts to do more harm to Russia and allies.
Q3: how and when to deal with NATO approaching or crossing Ukraine border? If Russia waits for them to cross, it would be difficult for Russia to be seen as provocatory. When the time comes to hit NATO outside the borders of Ukraine, full scale global war would likely ensue. Then it would seem that whoever had the decisive first strike, would prevail – horrid as that would be for all. The “people” pulling the strings for the west have demonstrated that they do not possess certain key healthy human traits (i.e. empathy, compassion, remorse) and if they think they will lose, they will want to take as many as possible with them.
Three cents worth :) By the time anyone reads this, inflation will reduce it’s value to two cents – lol.
Really appreciate the quality of information you share Andrei. Thank you.
The quandary now is waiting only adds more anti tank weapons to be off loaded from poland and supposedly romania, yet attacking and destroying them gives any of the uncles the reason to react.
Should they, then a big arms race ensues (during times of high energy costs no less??) as Reagans torn down wall is re erected and the lines drawn somewhere in this vicinity.
And you wonder where all the money comes from, the have nots here are dying everyday and all the talk only leads to worse things like rising jail house murders and how the need to have control over anything, at even a lower cost, is greater than trying to teach them anything at a slightly higher cost.
The balance of societal things financially, then mentally, is about to render a whole generation of citizens lost to technology of all things.
The same thing meant and designed to make life easier, is also the same thing driving the society insane.
The elders have always sent their youth off to fight their ideological wars, I don’t see this being any different.
Why was Russia not trying with money. Not now, but all these years. Was it not possible to bribe Banderists? Ukraine is corrupted country. Russia should have spent more money on that. That could have been beter then this, two Slavic nations in war.
Why wasn’t it possible to bribe somebody in USA, to buy some time.
How do you know that they haven’t tried?
Clearly, the US and NATO are the higher bidders.
These people can’t be bribed (the lowly ones). They are truly brainwashed and defective. They are promised riches and stature but never obtain anything, Think of useful idiots. They’re not bright and will be disposed of as we are seeing now.
Buy some time? Until when? Then what? Russia has already done that. Russia has made every concession, every reasonable offer. The time is now.

Russia (Gazprom, former USSR ministry of gas) paid Ukraine 2 billion per year.
I don’t think Poland will risk poking the bear. Their stunt with the MiG jets showed that they know USA will definitely not have their back.
While they might be drooling at the thought of nabbing a juicy slice of the pie, I believe they think the risk is too big.
This whole situation seems to be engineered to drain both Russia and Europe, so that USA can try to ensure a few more years as hegemon.
That China and India have not jumped on the sanctions bandwagon means that the sanctions against Russia will end up hurting Europe way more than Russia. Russia has access to huge markets, and while it may take a bit of effort and pain in the short term to shift their trade focus from the EU, they will end up with stronger and more reliable trade partners in the long term. The EU and USA act as if the west is the entire world, but in reality, there is a huge chunk of the world that are not jumping on the bandwagon for now, and as new payment systems and bilateral trade agreements come online, Russia and China will be stronger, while the West will be weakened economically and strategically.
Freezing sovereign funds, seizing private property, demonizing anyone guilty of the crime of being russian, weaponizing SWIFT. More than hurting Russia, these things show the world that they cannot rely on the west for anything. All these things are hurting the west more in the long run, than it will hurt Russia.
In every way, except the battle for the narrative in western media, Russia seems to be winning.
But the way I see it, the western press is beginning to defeat itself.
It has been engaging more and more in doublethink. While many people still just repeat the official news like it was the gospel truth, more and more people are waking up to the fact that the claims of the western press simply does not add up.
They keep saying that the Russian army is crumbling, but at the same time, they tell us that if we dont invest heavily in american weapons, then Putin will conquer all of europe in a few days. Doublethink.
Everyone’s forgotten the nuke-capable missiles in Romania and Poland, about to be upgraded. These will have to be taken out, the easy way or the hard way. Would be next, in six months. But:
The spooks have perfected the art of using media events to throw a monkey wrench into procedures, apparently allowing successful armies to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, just when they are about to win.
Biden cut off crop funding in Afghan; is proving much more difficult to control than was thought. NYTimes leaks Hunter’s laptop; is Biden being thrown under the bus in favor of Kamala? 1/3 of Americans want to attack Russia even if we may get nuked; this includes Armed Forces. Easily get 100k volunteers to help Teach Putin A Lesson, for Democracy. Spooks and true believers still think war can be confined to Ukraine turf. So: A Coalition of the Valiant invades Ukraine from the West; minor WWIII; Russia says screw it, takes out nearby missile bases (ONLY two Patriot batteries? They are dangling this as bait); Ukraine turns into Libya; Russia takes out most of Europe-based NATO headquarters; Poland and Hungary awarded provinces as war prizes in exchange for leaving NATO/ not attacking further. Russia keeps the war off the American homeland out of politeness. Peace reigns after there’s nothing left to fight with in Europe, and no appetite left in US. …One possible likely outcome, out of many.
I am going to posit a contrarian view. (maybe not contrarian to some people?).
Russia (and China) have timed this Ukrainian conflict to perfection. Its not about Ukraine, or a threat to Russia – lets be realistic; if Russia was really threatened it would flatten Ukraine in a day.
No, its a decision to strike a decisive blow at globalism and the collective West. Afghanistan was the trigger, as well as the accelerated financial, economic and cultural decline in US and Europe. And the Russia-China joint declaration set out the framework.
Far from the collective West trying to sanction and break Russia (and by extension China) they have sown the seeds of their own downfall.
Looks like most commenters can’t see the forest for the tree. They think this war is against Ukraine; it is not. Mr Putin’s “ultimatum” to the Western powers was not about Ukraine, but a reconfiguration of the security architecture in Europe, that is, NATO must recede to its 1997 borders. Ultimately, the objective is the dismantling of NATO itself.
I have no inkling of the Russian’s plans but it makes no sense otherwise considering that NATO is a permanent enemy next to Russia while the true enemy is safely absconded beyond the ocean (Forget for while about intercontinental missiles). This is unsustainable for Russia when the Hegemon is busily playing the “catch up” game of hypersonic weaponry. This is a window of opportunity for Russia to strike, not a bargain – the Hegemon being “agreement incapable” – but to remove NATO altogether by a politic-military showdown.
It’s obvious to me that Russia would not stoke the fires of war and challenge NATO unless she was ready for it up to the ultimate consequences. After all the survival of Russia was at stake and seriously compromised if Mr Putin did not act now.
This action in Ukraine is proof that Russia has the upper hand now and can incinerate Washington etc. if it comes to that, without suffering equivalent reprisals. I don’t think Mr Putin is bluffing.
‘This is unsustainable for Russia when the Hegemon is busily playing the “catch up” game of hypersonic weaponry’.
An important statement in a sea of mostly emotional opinions. Critical here is the time frame for the US to complete development. Once completed technological advantage is somewhat neutralised. Lets call it a window of opportunity.
Lets not also forget that both the US and Russia has confirmed that they would use these (nuclear) weapons.
When elephants fight the grass gets trampled. Europe is going to look a bloody mess.
My thoughts too.
This operation was clearly well planned; specifically the coordination between Russia & China.
The Chinese alluded to this more than once in recent years, but most recently again with the joint manifesto that immediately preceded this conflict.
The time to strike is now. The west has been crippled by COVID. We needed a strong economic recovery and instead we got an inflation crisis.
Russia knew this was coming. It was inevitable. They’ve had time to thoroughly plan & prepare. The west thought it was setting a trap for Russia, only to find itself ensnared.
On the topic of Russian central bank reserves, I wouldn’t be surprised if that was being dangled as bait. $300bn to terminally damage the western financial system? That’s a bargain.
Q1. No. Russia needs to push all the militarized forces into NATO states. If they push the militias and their mercenaries and weapons into Poland, Romania etc., these countries have to police and contain extra-military forces and the mayhem that follows.
This will take pressure off Russian forces and turn it into a EU and NATO problem.
I think Russia should want Idlib in Poland, not in Ukrainan territory they’re policing.
It would also allow Russia a defined area to attack any foreign backed insurgents without violating any old or new ‘borders.’
I’ve been thinking about this question a lot – hope to see some good analysis.
Q2. If they don’t, and you get an Idlib from which to launch attacks, a low level conflict will persist for years. And then Ukrainians won’t be able to resolve their side of the conflict.
I’d say Russia needs to create a ‘political cauldron’ in Lvov for long term negotiation of territorial integrity of Ukraine, neutrality, de-militarization, etc. Trap the negotiators there and engage to work it through without any territory for a resistance military conflict.
(If the western Ukrainian people take up arms after Azov is shut down then this is totally wrong.)
Q3. Never. Not even if NATO fires into Ukraine. If NATO does, it’s just test time for S-400 (or whatever) air defence system. This will also be fun for Nato war planners and keep them occupied (Russia too serious for fun) as they can play war setting up standoff weapons that can’t/won’t be used without NATO losing billions in jets, aircraft carriers, and other cool toys.
Destroy anything that crosses the border to really lock down the line. Russia must have already told them that’s how it is, and backed it up.
This works if they push the mercenaries into The EU states where they become a major issue for the locals. Get EU countries to suffer from the flood of weapons and maniacs so they pressure NATO to reduce the conflict.
I see parallels to Syria where they seem to just eat the ongoing airstrikes without retaliating. I wouldn’t bet against Russia playing the long game, and waiting it out with frequent missile strikes if they could successfully lock down Ukrainan territory this way.
There would also be some upset limit, where if NATO destroys something of significant value, then Russia would retaliate – but it would be equivalent and on a target that doesn’t exist – like in western Syria, or a sub hitting an underwater mountain. No shooting back at the EU bases where the attacks came from.
This would also lead to the only sane outcome (low probablility) – frustrated to the limit, someone on the NATO side orders a start to a war, and the generals do a coup to de-escalate. Sad, but how else do they step back from the edge?
Actually, for all the predictions from The Saker writers that have played out correctly over the last few months, Russia just needs to wait out the West completely imploding.
NATO losing billions is part of the plan. We just spent one cool billion on flashy fireworks, which will have to be replaced when they get lost/vaporize. Dollar-printer go whirrrr. Constituents funded, no risk. Europe NATO players then owe US. What’s not to like. You must remember: US is socialized for arms factories; US military is largest corp in world, both by gross income and number of people employed. We will be spending more++ billions on fireworks. Not food, not education, not transportation, not energy independence. It’s a huge part of the plan.
Re: Partition of Ukr.
It’s the most probable outcome
The Dnieper seems the natural frontier and the Black Sea coast taken by Russia too
Russia will need to create a new Iron Curtain along its entire western border
The greatest weapon in the Russian arsenal is not its weapons but its oil and gas. Unfortunately the Russians are giving their enemies the needed time to adapt and adjust. Maybe what the Russians need is to refresh their Sun Tzu. After all the sweetest victory is the one achieved without firing a single Iskander. While they are at it, perhaps they should take a look at Rhodes testaments too.
It sees, people tend to forget, that this war with Russia is centuries old and nothing new. And it will go on as long as there is an anglo-saxon empire. For the first time since the establishment of the anglo-saxon empire there is a real chance of eliminate it all together. All Russia needs to do is to just stop the flow of gas and oil to the west and sit and watch not for months or years but days and enjoy the usa crumble. With the usa gone, Russia will finally have security.
The real player in this chess game is not even the Russians. If Russians don’t play their cards right, the others can’t play theirs. In that case nothing will change. There is no other way. The Russians have to chose, whether or not they want the usa survive or they want it gone and act accordingly, the rest will be done by others. I doubt the americans have the brains to figure out who is going administer the final blow!
I wrote this shortly after the special operation started – I think it’s still relevant now.

Fake news killed the Ukrainians and it is our fault
Here’s the cold, hard truth. We don’t care about Ukraine. That country doesn’t even cross our minds except when it involves Russia somehow. If you go on Google with an American IP address, “Russia news today” and “Ukraine news today” will get you exactly the same top news stories, which is really pathetic when you think about it.
We don’t care about Ukraine, but Russians do. They love Ukraine, and this is a very easy feeling to pick up. It’s just the simple fact that Americans don’t talk about Ukraine at all, but Russians talk about her constantly. Ukraine’s people, politics, culture, history, and celebrity gossip are all a big deal in Russia.
If a Ukrainian actor gets arrested for drunk driving or cheats on his wife, do you think American news outlets would report it? Of course not. But Russian news outlets would. They would all know who he is and gossip to each other about it for days or weeks. Maybe an embarrassing photo from his mishap would also hit the internet, like his wife throwing all of his things outside. It would become a meme that Russians, and Ukrainians, would poke fun at and instantly recognize, even years later.
That’s because Ukrainians and Russians watch and star in the same movies. Movies that we don’t even know exist, and wouldn’t care enough to watch even if we did know about them. They’re the same people. This idea of Ukrainians and Russians being totally separate and antagonistic ethnic groups is not their idea and never was. It’s an American idea, and we have spent a huge amount of time and money convincing them of it. It’s just as absurd as telling people in Nevada they’re a completely different race than people in California. It’s an absurd, vile, and malicious thing to do, and it was entirely deliberate on our part.
If Americans created the idea of Ukrainian nationalism, how are we totally unaware of our role in it? That’s because we are completely and irredeemably divorced from reality. Just look at what our news cycle has been like for the past weeks, months, and years. We are obsessed with the idea of an overwhelming, powerful enemy that, at the same time, is very easy to defeat. Our adversary must be simultaneously weak and strong, and we must have evidence of that, even if we have to invent it ourselves. Every major news development from this war, every single one, was fake. The 13 Spartans of Serpent Island, the sunflower seeds babushka, the evil Russian tankers running over people for no reason, evil Russian missiles blowing up nuclear plants for no reason, all fake, and really stupid to believe in the first place.
https://readingjunkie.com/2022/03/05/fake-news-killed-the-ukrainians-and-it-is-our-fault/
A neutral western Ukraine with international peacekeepers would be better. (Invite the Chinese!) But even leaving it for NATO would be workable. It would require more military presence than I assume Russia wants, but really only the border needs to be secured. It achieves strategic depth and will be problematic for NATO. Allow it to split along ethnic lines? Manage it and develop an economy and civil society? It won’t last long in any sort of stability. And for the upset fascists, their “friends” who sold them out will be an easier target than Russia.
Russia has turned east. A Cold War style European border isn’t a disaster. And for the foreseeable future, Europe will remain dependent on Russian energy. The Eastern European NATO states need time to digest how they’d be sacrificed like Ukrainians and how the US weapons system (especially air defense) aren’t very helpful. How long does Poland remain stable with a bunch of banderistas milling around?
It could be given to the US as a “win”. The US only cares about perception anyway and one can probably assume that the pentagon does not like what it has seen. It will demand budgets to modernize that the US economy cannot sustain. And Russia can ignore Europe and the US with stand-off weaponry to make a point of need be. Europe’s not going to go for 200K US troops and probably neither would the US. We nearly color revolutioned ourselves over the last election. Russia can afford to be magnanimous because the US is in late stage Soviet collapse and its quickening.
Finally, it would be a coup in the actual information war. Everyone outside the US knows that the conflict is fundamentally over. Russia looks like the grown up and can start rebuilding eastern Ukraine (however that takes shape). Again, Russia looks like the grownup to the rest of the world. With china’s help do what the US never does and actually develop the region. This gives a bit of time for the new Gazprom pipeline to be built that can move Ural product east. It also gives immediate room to focus on domestic economic development with most of the nation’s energy.
Occupying western Ukraine will be a hellhole. That’s probably the surest way to give the US the insurgency it wants. And if all this happens soon, the black earth can be planted on time. Support that and win the hearts and minds of Ukrainians. Russia can’t save Europe and the cost of an attempt is more than she should bare. It hasn’t even been a century since Russia had to do it last. Maybe they’ll learn, maybe they won’t. They might even learn how badly DC and London shafted them as they cope with awful economic conditions brought on be being faithful clients of people who don’t have friends, only interests.
Saker, the answer to all three questions you post is (again), “Always strike at the head of the snake, not the tail…”
I can guarantee two things: If TPTB is/are untouched, they will always keep pushing. If TPTB is/are ‘touched’, they will stop pushing. (By TPTB, I mean the spider(s) at the center of the web, who are pulling the strings.) This applies to a mini-Banderastan, a Russian (permanent?) presence in western Ukraine, or even “a NATO ‘peacekeeping force’ … detected approaching the Ukrainian border.”
In a way, it comes down to a “cost / benefit” analysis for the TPTB. If there is no ‘cost’ to them, it is always ‘beneficial’ to keep the pressure on. Once there are real costs to them, this situation will change.
If Russia wants to achieve a lasting peace, (a) profound resources have to be dedicated to identifying the real decision makers (look in the ‘blank places’), (b) find out what is really precious to them (“My Precious…”), and (c) prove that whatever they find truly-precious is at risk if they continue. Provocations will cease…
Once more: Always strike at the head of the snake, not the tail…
(For further reading, I might recommend “Reading the Enemy’s Mind: Inside Star Gate, America’s Psychic Espionage Program” by Paul Smith and “Memoirs of a Psychic Spy: The Remarkable Life of U.S. Government Remote Viewer 001” by Joseph McMoneagle. [I met him.] No one is unfindable…)
I have long expected the breakaway of Galicia. That seems to be the only region that can cite legitimate history for the precedent of a “Ukrainian Nation.” Everything else is just…the part of Russia that was у края the rest of Russia… Unintelligent “experts” (including at the highest level of US academia in the Slavic Studies organizations which at this point should all disband in utter shame) go along with the idea that Putin is “distorting history” by saying that Lenin created the Ukraine. When in fact, these people clearly either suck at Russian (not uncommon in the field) or are deliberately conflating several things. Yes – the term Ukraine appeared on maps for centuries before the Bolshevik Revolution; but Putin specifically referred to the creation of the Ukrainian STATE whose borders were irrefutably drawn by Lenin, and then amended by Stalin and “Our Nikita” (a Ukrainian!)*
Q1) I believe that Banderastan can be maintained the way something like Estonia is which is right up against St. Petersburg. It’s a much better solution than having NATO in Odessa or Kharkov. I believe that ideally Ru can get a UN Peacekeeping Mission against that border, otherwise a CSTO one will have to do. Could even be a Korea-like DMZ, which would be ridiculous and tragic, but that’s how people have to solve conflicts with the rabid US-types.
Q2) I don’t believe there is a better option because the Ukrainian borders of 1991 have always been unsustainable. I think less than zero people would greet Russians as liberators in this part of the country. I do hope they take out that Bandera statue outside the Lvov train station before this is all said and done, though.
Q3) I believe they should wait until something crosses. I do not want to see a de jure NATO/Russia war though we sort of have a de facto one right now. Polish leaders are delusional, yes (see below!), but also only opportunistic and not very brave. I think they know the reality and are just waiting for someone else to hand them some territory. Note how they tried to re-route their planes to Germany – they ain’t marching across that border. I think the Iavarov strike was enough to remind everyone of the reality.
I don’t like it, emotionally speaking. Only because I do happen to like Lvov. I think that city is a wonderful living museum of “The Architecture of Europe’s Empires.” You can see vastly different styles even on the same city block, cobbled together over years depending on which Empire that city was part of. Plus, I like telling people I’m going to Lvov because they always respond with “Drink coffee and eat chocolate.” Shit happens though, I guess.
*I would like to add for anyone in Zone A that has friends/family that want to argue about Soviet/Russian history vis-a-vis Ukraine or wherever, to be very specific about your counterpoints. First, Russia and the Soviet Union are completely different entities. Do not let anybody say that “Russia” did anything between 1922 and 1991. Do not let anybody claim that “Russia” took part in the Molotov Pact, or the suppression of Hungary in 56, or Czech in 68, etc. Moreover, explain that the overwhelming majority of the time, the Soviet Union was led by non-Russians. You had Lenin, a (self-hating) Russian in the beginning. Then from 1924 until 1980 you have Stalin, a Georgian; Khrushchev, a Ukrainian; and Brezhnev, a Ukrainian (he identified as this on his original party card). Only in 1980 do you get a short tenure of Andropov, a Russian, followed by Chernenko, again a Ukrainian, and then Gorbachev, a Russian. Is this an over-simplification? Absolutely. But most people don’t even know this and it will at least hopefully knock some sense into this idea about what “Russians” have done in recent history.
Oh, and if you like, remind people that Poland took a piece of Czechoslovakia after Munich in 1938, lest anyone think that that the leadership of that country has a history of innocence :)
I think we need to also factor few things:
1. Vatican announcement of “Pope to consecrate Russia and Ukraine to Immaculate Heart of Mary on March 25”. Why all of a sudden rush? In not a near future, but likely scenario can change dynamics to a religious war. This can be used as an excuse to bring in NATO countries and non-NATO countries fight Russia, who are primarily Roman Catholics.
2. Is Deep State worried? Is Deep State Panicked? Would Rothschild, Rockefeller’s, and the likes would suffer huge monetary losses. Is their “dream” falling apart? Of course, yes to all these.
3. Will Rothschild, Rockefellers, etc like to have access to their greed of “cream” from oil, gold, minerals, etc be lost? Of course, not. So, they want war… feed on war… and finance all sides.
4. What about losses of MIC? If no war, how will they “survive”?
5. What about their “Agenda 2030”, including de-population to only 500 million people? They can’t let that doom.
6. What about plans to “contain” China? They’re unable to break stronger ties between Russia and China, though trying too hard.
7. What about “$”? They can’t let another currency “pop-up” and “survive”, while their “$” crashes.
9. How can they show face to their “so-called world” after miserable failures (Syria, Afghanistan, and now Ukraine)?
10. Bio-labs – what will happen to them when the chest is open for all world to see?
11. Did we forget they are part of Cabals? How can these Illuminati’s achieve their devilish objectives?
12. Dead silent khazarian Israelites will sure backstab Russia. Connect this to all points I mentioned above. They can’t be trusted with their whole game now appearing to fail to gain “world dominion” by them being “blessed people”.
So, they may be fully planning to “contain” Russia or rather destroy it, whatever it takes. Though they know well, this is WWW3 and nothing less than Nuclear. I think the NATO games in Norway is a prelude/preparation, like Russia did before its military operation.
I think for Russia, it must not get involved into any longer war. Create a West border with the least amount of border length from any NATO country and make that West Ukie a neutral state. The East Ukie may be autonomous like LDNR. And it’s important to ensure the least border or no border on East side to Romania, and obviously all Black Sea coast and port cities and Odessa must be within Russia control. And yes, Russia will have to protect all these new autonomous zones with its military and arsenal, even after creating neutral West Ukie.
Does this proposed “W.Ukraine” keep Odessa and access to the Black Sea?
Will revelations about Hunter Biden/Joe Biden and their corrupt activities in Ukraine affect public opinion in the next few days/week?
Does Russia actually intend to prove the use of Ukraine as a corrupt money laundering operation for US democrat politicians?
Does Russia intend to prove Zelensky has taken money and is a member in good standing of Klaus Schwab’s WEF and is a new world order acolyte, taking orders from Western elites?
If the purpose of Russia’s intervention was to safeguard the two new republics in eastern Ukraine, and get agreement that Crimea is Russia, then that is done. That is an accomplishment, but not one that would also benefit the world. The actual territory seized may turn out to be less important than exposing how corrupt US politicians, and globalists in the Schwab/Soros mode use Ukraine to further their nefarious ambitions. If this vital goal isn’t on Russia’s agenda then Russia is losing an opportunity to re-write history for the next century. You’re either are going to save Western civilization and Christianity or you’re not. The ball is in Russia’s court. Is Vladimir Putin the right man to do this greater task? I’m not sure.
Have no Doubts,President Putin is the Greatest Statesman the World has ever known.
Negotiated peace is the best outcome for practical as well as humanitarian reasons. It assumes that Russia will succeed in defeating the Ukrainian troops east of Dnieper— then a treaty that ensures neutrality, no foreign bases, respect for all ethnic groups and recognition of Crimea/Donbass becomes possible. Any other option is madness.
Sadly, there are many here believing how Russia is some superpower capable of defeating NATO by herself or something. You think Chinese, one of the wisest people in history, are gonna help? Tough luck.
The neutral Ukraine that recognizes Crimea as part of Russia is the most the russians are gonna get. Otherwise, WWIII starts and nothing else but pure survival matters.
I think you will be surprised with the end result. What russia is doing here is not just a new chapter in the history of warfare, it’s a new book. Maybe it post conflict will be describet as a new generation of warfare.
If this was done EoL style, based on the numers from the liberation of Iraq, we would be talking round about 4 million people dead at the end of the conflict. Out of those numbers there would be 1 million childred killed. Now, with that kind of numbers in a confliict with a brotherly tribe … it would take 3 generations for them to talk to each other again. Hopefully at the end of this, the number of dead civilians will be shockingly low.
I’m going to shill for my dear friend’s telegram channel. She’s providing a lot of great and timely insight on the social, economic, and cultural issues surrounding the Russian “invasion” of Ukraine. She is a Russian living in Russia who speaks and writes in several languages. Condor the Bird.

I am rushing to answer Question 3 in regards to its legality under international law. Firstly, one has to take into account the overall scope of the “special military operation” and whether it is permitted under the “self-defence” exception. It has already been discussed here and elsewhere that it is, a measure of last resort considering the deaf-ears in response to Russia’s many appeals to stop the NATO march to its borders. Besides, under the “collective defence” exception (the same excuse for NATO’s existence) Russia was bound to come in to defend its allied Novorossyian republics. Once that main threshold is crossed, any military action is justified if there is nexus between its execution and the overall purpose of self-defence. If a NATO force is assembled in Poland with the object of intervening in the on-going hostilities, it is fair game. Of course it could be argued that its purpose was the defence of Poland, but any objective analysis of the situation on the ground would easily dismiss such excuse. So the answer is YES, Russia could legally attack such NATO force if it was an imminent danger to its forces.
By the way, the same doctrine could be applied to the destruction of the missile sites stationed in Poland and Romania if there were clear military and political indications (i.e. hostile intentions) that Russia’s self-defence was critically compromised by the existence of such offensive weapons. Here the element of proportionality would come into play to legitimate such destruction, that is, only the offending sites would be fair game.
Russia’s fight is with NATO, i.e. the U.S. That’s why ending the war in Ukraine won’t do anything to end the war. For that reason, I don’t see any alternative but for Russia to secure Ukraine’s border with NATO and fortify it. If Russia does go that far west, I think it would not exercise the same care toward civilians it does in the east south and center. The result might look more like Mosul and Raqaa after the Americans finished with them, with huge numbers of the irredentist civilian population deciding it was in their best interest to move to the EU.
Question1: Not really. Let them live in Germany
Question2: Wait to see the results of question #3
Question3: Inside Ukraine for sure unless they fire first from inside Poland. Otherwise we’d be giving them the excuse they need.
If Poland wants war then Poland should want the Ukronazis: they may as well go where they’re welcome, if not to kingdom come.
Tanks a million once the territory East of there gets secured.
Given the rather nasty history of things like the Huta Pieniacka massacre, how good is the current relationship between Ukrainians and Poles?
At the moment, quite good. Everyone wants to show their support for Ukraine by supporting Ukrainian refugees. Give it some time, the mood will shift.
Wait until the consul general thanks them for taking care of Ukrainian orphans, then demands they be schooled apart from local children, according to Ukrainian curricula because otherwise they would be treating the Ukrainian children as inferior. (The German consul general made quite sure that we feel inferior when she demanded that; quite unintentional, I am sure.Of course the Ukrainian diplomats in Poland might be more diplomatic than the Ukrainian diplomats in Germany.) This sort of demands and behavior adds up over time. While the wave of support ebbs.
The whole of the Ukraine must be taken and no more. Putin must be seen as a man of his word. America and most of the western nations are on the brink of destruction. Their reach is over extended and they will fall down…especially if the petrodollar dies. They tried to forestall it with the destruction of Libya but just bought a little time.
Re:Question 2. If Russia needs a buffer zone between it and NATO, then that buffer should be as big as possible. It should therefore take 100% of Ukraine and treat the western regions as enemy territory. Young Galician Nazis will have no future in the new Ukraine and will move to NATO-land. Over the next 30 years the old Galician Nazis will die and western Ukraine will become depopulated. The Galician Nazi problem will then be solved. Galicia could then be resettled with Russian or Chechen Cossacks who would protect Russia’s new western border.
