‘S-300, S-400 air defenses in place’: Russian MoD warns US-led coalition not to strike Syrian army
Video credit Russian MoD
Greetings dear colleagues. Some respectable Western media outlets reported about the leaks from the White House briefings discussing possible air strikes against Syrian Army. History tells us that often this kind of “leaks” happen before the real actions. What’s especially troubling that that this provocations are being initiated by the representatives of the CIA and Pentagon. Back in September they reported to the US President about their control; over the “opposition fighters” and now they are lobbying for a kinetic scenarios in Syria.
I recommend to our Washington “colleagues” to thorough calculate all the possible consequences of the realization of such plans.
Today the Syrian Army is equipped with the air defense complexes effective enough, such as S-200, BUK, and other defense system
Also, we want to remind the American “strategists” that Russia currently has S-400 and S-300 air-defense systems deployed to protect its troops stationed at the Tartus naval supply base and the Khmeimim airbase. The radius of the weapons reach may be “a surprise” to all unidentified flying objects.
It’s important to come back to reality and to realize that Russian air defense system crews are unlikely to have time to determine in a ‘straight line’ the exact flight paths of missiles and then who the warheads belong to. And all the illusions of amateurs about the existence of ‘invisible’ jets will face a disappointing reality,
And finally, the most important…Today the majority of the members of the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria are working “on the ground” delivering aid and negotiating with a large number of communities and the members of the armed groups in the most provinces of Syria. It’s due to their efforts 732 towns and villages and hundreds of thousands of Syrian people have returned to normal life. That’s why any air strikes and or missile strikes on the territory controlled by the Syrian government will create a clear threat to Russian servicemen.
In conclusion, I want to remind to those who are “hot under the collar” that after the US September 17th strikes against the Syrian troops that resulted in the deaths of 83 servicemen, we took all the necessary measures, to prevent any of such “mistakes” as to the regard of the Russian military servicemen and objects, and also in regard to the Syrian troops on the territory of the Syrian People’s republic.

Russia: S-300 missile system deployed to defend Russian naval base in Syria – MoD
Oct 4, 2016
Russian Defence Ministry spokesperson Major-General Igor Konashenkov confirmed that an S-300 air defence missile system had been delivered to Syria, while speaking at a briefing in Moscow on Tuesday.
SOT, Major-General Igor Konashenkov, Russian Defence Ministry spokesperson (Russian):
“We would like to bring Earnest [US White House spokesperson, Josh Earnest] back down to Earth and to remind the US administration that the result of its the active fighting with ISIS nearly allowed it to occupy the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic. Moreover, we cannot get an answer from our US partners – why the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda, the terrorist group Jabhat-al-Nusra has been in US favour. US forces failed all ceasefire agreements from September 9 and did not manage to divide members of the so-called opposition from Jabhat-Al-Nusra, allowed terrorists to regroup again and renew their supplies. Isn’t it time for [our] US partners to admit, that almost all of the controlled opposition is under the Al-Qaeda and Jabhat-al-Nusra brand?
The main aim of Russia in Syria has never been changed or hidden: it is a fight against all kinds of international terrorism. Against this background, Russia’s progress can be counted not with complaints but with the reality in Syria. First of all, these are hundreds of towns which are back living a normal life, ten of thousands of metres squared have been liberated from the terrorists and several tonnes of humanitarian aid [sent] for local residents.”
SOT, Major-General Igor Konashenkov, Russian Defence Ministry spokesperson (Russian): “Indeed, the Syrian Arab Republic received an S-300 anti-aircraft missile system. This system is designed to ensure the safety of the naval base in [the Syrian city of] Tartus and task force ships located in the coastal area from the air. It is unclear, why the placement of the S-300 caused such a stir in the West. Just to recall, the S-300 is only a protective system and does not pose a [n offensive] danger. Moreover, earlier, there was a similar naval air-defence complex, ‘Fort’, which is based on the Black Sea Fleet battleship ‘Moscow’.”
You can’t strike at unidentified objects. You can strike at any Identified object that attacks you. This happened in Vietnam but never happen in Syria.
‘Unindentified’ in this context has a specific meaning. AIrcraft flying on peaceful missions have their transponders enabled so they announce their identity to radar systems that might detect them. Aircraft on non-peaceful aggressive missions turn these transponders off so the aircraft is detected but it does not identify itself. The Russians are saying such aircraft will be treated as an aggressive threat.
This means the outcome is up to the US. If their aircraft identify themselves, that is good. If they do not, they will be treated as an imminent military threat.
No air force will send its pilots into a no-fly zone to test whether the zone is valid.
If it sends in its missiles, it had better be prepared for some ‘incoming’ returns, who knows where.
Also, isn’t it the case that anyone flying in Syrian airspace is supposed to have passed on the information that they’d be so doing well ahead of time? That way the chances of an accidental engagement are avoided. Of course, if you are just turning up to sneak through an attack which you are not supposed to be doing….

I wish you would stop talking about various “international terrorists” and the USA in TWO breaths. There is but ONE international terrorist AND THAT IS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
Wrong. The psychopathic Zionist ‘state’ is the true threat. US is but an attack dog on a choke-chain leash.
According to?

Well, my understanding was that early during their intervention in Syria, the Russians discussed their concerns about operational misunderstandings with the Americans. They felt that it was possible that an “accidental” incident could occur where one party bought down the aircraft of another, or one party bombed the personnel of another. To avoid this mistake from happening, wasn’t it agreed that each would inform the other when they’d be flying, who’d be where, what they’d be doing and what objects they’d be engaging? It has been reported the Russians were letting the Americans know where and when their aircraft would be flying. So, one would reasonably expect the Americans ought to be doing the same thing in return, as was apparently agreed and arranged. It would thus make sense that anything flying that the Russians had not been told about would qualify as “unidentified”- perhaps even including American aircraft that happen to turn up unannounced.

Clear, concise and controlled, so much more confident and assuring than the freaky US spokesmen.
The bullies in Washington are in a panic and fluster. It shows in their hesitant and shifty presentations.
So what now?
Another US false flag me thinks…maybe a carrier sunk by an American submarine and it will be blamed on Russia.
World War Three here we come. Those Anglo-Zionists just can’t accept they’ve been out manoeuvred at every point!
Well the usual suspects have been calling for a “no fly zone” for some time
Looks like they may have got their wish just not in the way they wanted it
The Russian have launched a WMT in New York

I guess this is it.
A no flight zone above Assads remaining Syria, that is 20% of the country.
Now if the Russians hesitation to do what was necessary from the beginning we all wouldnt be here now… waiting for WW3 to start…
Now its question of time for the NWOrder fellas or ‘partners’ like the Ruskies like to call…to start trying up this system. All the pentagon beast wants is to grab hold into something new they can destroy.
Russia is isolated in Syria, has limited naval support and no freaking backup… what are they going to do if folks decide to heat things a little in Crimea?…
And forget about China… people keep talking about it whithout considering that China needs more the West and its money than the West needs China, they have 1.5b folks to feed. Without a market China is dead, IMO China out absence themselves from any direct support to Russia in case of a hot war between US and Moscow.
It is possible that the “big picture” is much bigger than we can imagine, or deduce from current reportage. As always, consider the sources, and be patient with discernment which can take its time to develop. The actual plans, deployments considered, and reactions to actions by the various countries are cards played close to the vest- and not revealed for general consumption. Thus, we are watching development in real time, but without any solid information to allow informed prognostication. Nevertheless, when a US General stands up, utters statements which make him sound like the leader of the “Blue Meanies,” going to a WWIII conclusion is not a stretch and is Our cue to proclaim in unison throughout planet Earth, “There will BE NO WWIII!”
HSV-2 Swift was hit by a C-802 missile, it is the export upgraded version of the Chinese anti-ship missile YJ-8 . The single shot hit probability of the Yingji-82 is unknown, though one unreferenced source claims it to be as high as 98%. To achieve one shoot one kill that means that, the system was operated by very well trained crew. Was Chinese advisor there? We do not know for sure, beyond reasonable doubt.
You understand as much of Russia and China as my 6 year old dog
The pindo response has so far been, let me put it politely, embarrassing.
‘We will stop you…beat you’: US Army chief offers stark warning to potential rivals and enemies
https://www.rt.com/usa/361849-army-chief-threatens-rivals-enemies/
“The US Army Chief of Staff warned the enemies of the United States that “we will beat you harder than you’ve ever been beaten before.” The list of rivals and foes is predictably Russia, Iran and China.
“I want to be clear to those around the world who want to destroy our way of life, and that of our allies and friends,” said Gen. Millay. “The United States military, despite all our challenges, despite our off-tempo, despite everything we have been doing, will stop you, and we will beat you harder than you’ve ever been beaten before. Make no mistake about that.”
This American military pig will be BBQed alive if there is a real war.
This is the same America that got its ass kicked by North Vietnam and more recently stuffed by the Iraqi and Afghanistan resistance fighters.
The American Way of Life is like that of a vampire who cannot stop sucking the blood of its victims and lashes out in a fanatical rage when he is opposed.
It is long overdue to drive a stake through the heart of the American Evil Empire–once and for all.
Give the Native Indians, Hawaiians, and Mexcians all their lands back, which the United States stole and currently occupies.
I’ve never understood what the pindos are referring to when they say that someone wants to “threaten our way of life” and “threaten our freedoms”. Seriously, what are they referring to?
Their freedom to maintain their extravagant lifestyle: freedom to steal and plunder; freedom to exploit; freedom to bully, oppress and kill if you get in their way. Not permitting the bully the freedom to bully is a deeply offensive affront that must be answered with a terrible smackdown.
Greed is the most onerous of pathologies to a society. Less “civilized” societies commonly ostracized those who sought personal fortune at the expense of communal wellness. Yet our social system is structured on rewarding those sociopathic behaviors that tear apart social cohesion, preserving an institutionalized structure of injustice by propagating universal false consciousnesses that “naturally” accepts this as “the way things are”.
Preserving “our way of life” is about preserving the wealth and privilege of the few at the expense of the many.
The Pindos’ way of life is aptly summed up thus:
It’s easy to be generous with other peoples’ land, labour output, and natural resources
Parasites know very well indeed which side their bread is buttered upon.
I think that Nietzsche captured the ‘Pindo’ universe when he said: “The English are the people of consummate cant.”
That the ‘English’ have evolved into Anglo-Zionists has in no way mitigated that assessment.
Nietzsche’s not a teacher. England is the most deeply penetrated of the British colonies.
Parasites know very well indeed which side their bread is buttered upon.
Absolutely (3rd item from last):

Before you can act on a global stage you need to create an appropriate context for your desired action, less you be considered irrational or “evil”
Who knows what’s actually going on. Maybe he knows the financial system is facing collapse and requires control of Syria. We’re all guestimating without real knowledge.
Foggy Bottom, the Pentagon and Langley just had their table stakes called.
Reminds us of Eastwood’s famous lines:
My translator app’s version is priceless when I listen to it:
Вы должны задать себе один вопрос: я чувствую себя счастливым? Ну делать я, панк? Идти вперед сделать мой день.
“You’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk? Go ahead make my day.”
I think Eastwood’s line that a man’s got to know his limitations is even more appropo, Larchmonter 445. The neolibcons are being shown their limits, but they’re gonna push them somehow either via a false flag or the jihadists suddenly getting a lot more competent and displaying special forces like characteristics (and ditto for the ‘ATO zone’ getting a sudden influx of NATO ‘vacationers’) ahead of the election. They certainly cannot leave the Russian forces in Syria or the LDNR in peace without some significant escalation before election day to drive home with sledgehammer subtlety the ‘Trump is the Putin candidate, vote Hillary’ Narrative even if they’ve got it rigged on a large scale for her. But ‘Putin hacked the voting machines’ is their backup plan if Trump wins and they need more chaos to de-legitimatize him and any chance for detente.
The radius of the weapons reach may be “a surprise” to all unidentified flying objects
Anther sentence not included in the above article – As for the laymen’s illusions about the existence of ‘invisible planes’ they may confront a disappointing reality.”
Sounds like they can take out the F22’s and stealth aircraft at long range. Caliber missile abilities took US completely by surprise. The air defence systems may be similar?
The range of the S400 depends on the radar cross-section and velocity of the object.
Some planes have very stealthy cross-sections.
On average, the range is 400 kilometers, but obviously, that’s the public posted range. Probably 500 kilometers for most planes, drones and some missiles.
The “stealthiness” is highly dependent on the angle of incoming radar pulses and it’s usually designed to be best from the front of the plane. Idea being “they won’t see us coming in”. They might be able to complete their bombing run, but once they turn their tails and run stealth performance diminishes sharply. Whether the attackers survive the return leg depends how many radars/missile launchers are left alive and how far they are.
The other important and rarely-advertised fact is that “stealth” only works for very limited frequency bands. That’s why Russians have restarted production of VHF radar designs from the 50’s, which can detect “stealth” planes 200km away with no problem at all.
You won’t read this in any F22 or F35 advertising but it’s a simple fact having to do with dimensions of those angular flat surfaces on the planes and radar signal wavelengths.
It’s too technical to explain to ordinary people but rest assured – this kind of thing is commonly taught in military schools. Russians are not stupid and their military has come a long long way since Yeltsin’s days.
Once the sh*t hits the fan, Omorikans are in for a very sobering surprise.
Right. They just build expensive design without even thinking about how to use them. Or how to defeat counter-strategies. Think again.
It’s not about stupid vs smart. It’s about your goals and what you’re willing to risk to get them.
@mikie…
competently stated technical points…
Yes low radar cross-section (RCS) ie “stealth” is typically optimized for the head-on angle…ie where your stealth plane nose is pointing in a straight line towards the enemy radar…
As soon as that plane starts a turn for example, it exposes a very broad surface of its underbelly…since airplanes must by necessity bank into a turn…the turn also exposes the broad sides of any vertical surfaces…such as twin tails on the Lockheed Martin F/A-22 Raptor…
that’s why better stealth designs like the Northrop Grumman B-2 and the experimental Northrop Grumman X-47 drone don’t have vertical flying surfaces like tails…the “flying wing” aircraft configuration…
It is also worth trying to explain the basics physics of stealth and why low-frequency radar waves can “see” stealth aircraft…
The first note here is that the scientist who is considered the father of “stealth” is a former Soviet academic who subsequently taught at UCLA… Petr Ufimtsev…
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petr_Ufimtsev
In 1962 Ufimtsev published the seminal theoretical framework on the effect of geometric shapes on radio wave behavior…Method of Edge Waves in the Physical Theory of Diffraction…
The Soviet scientific-military authorities did not see this work as important and allowed it to be published internationally…in 1971 the book was translated to English by the USAF National Air Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio…this work is still available for download…
http://oai.dtic.mil/oai/oai?verb=getRecord&metadataPrefix=html&identifier=AD0733203
A stealth engineer at Lockheed… Denys Overholser…realized this work presented a complete set of mathematical tools to compute radar reflection and thus enable the design of aircraft that minimized such reflection…the result of this work led to the F-117 and the B-2…
Now just to fill in some background here…radar works by emitting radio waves just like any radio transmitter…ie a commercial radio station, or even a cell phone…it also has a receiver..often a parabolic dish shape that receives return signals bouncing back…in general, the bigger the object is, the stronger the return…
the acronyim RADAR stands for RAdio Detection And Ranging…the idea of stealth aircraft is to scatter incoming radio waves as well as to absorb them (using special coating material)…rather than reflecting the waves back to the radar receiver…
The main insight of Ufimtsev’s work was that the strength of a radar return from an object is related to its edge configuration, not its size…so even a large airplane could be made difficult to detect by radar…however the geometric design of such an aircraft would make it aerodynamically unstable and difficult to fly…but with the advent of computerized flight controls (fly-by-wire)…aerodynamically unstable aircraft can be easily controlled by the pilot…
Stealth design features are intended to scatter incoming radio waves in a controlled manner…by use of edge alignment (for example wing and tail edges aligned at the same sweep angle)…faceting (flat surface)… and other geometrical features…the faceting aspect was clearly visible on the F-117 which used a lot of flat pieces whose intersection creates an edge rather than a smooth contour…the radar cross section of those edges could be easily calculated using Ufimtsev’s math…
Radar absorbent materials (RAM) are also employed…I had the opportunity to physically examine a piece of wreckage from the F-117 shot down over Serbia and was surprised by how thick this rubbery black coating is…obviously it would add a lot of weight and this plane (and the B-2) are known for very demanding maintenance of their skin…
Where the radar frequency or wavelength comes into the picture is that the physical size of the stealth aircraft part in question (such as a wing or a tail) must be much bigger than the radio wavelength of the radar being used…in order for the scattering to work and reduced radar visibility to be achieved…
fighter aircraft and many ground-based radars typically employ radio waves in the high frequency band of the electromagnetic spectrum…ie X-band which is 8 to 12 gigahertz (one GHz being 1 billion cycles per second)…
the wavelength is inversely proportional to the frequency so higher frequencies have shorter wavelengths and vice versa… so the physical length of the the x-band wave is 25 to 37.5 mm…the VHF band is a much lower frequency 30 MHz to 300 MHz…with a wavelength of 1 meter to 10 m…
Hence the physical principle behind using low frequency (meter-band) radars to detect stealth aircraft…a radio wavelength measured in meters is going to be bigger than a lot of the features on the stealth aircraft…hence making them completely visible in this radio band…
Mikie is correct that the Russians have been using long wavelength (low frequency) radar for many decades…while the West has not…but I would add that this technology has been the focus of intense development in recent years…in fact since the US started using stealth aircraft…
The Current Nebo ME VHF radar that can be used with S-300 and S-400 systems is produced by Almaz-Antey/NNIIRT…this system is the world’s only active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar in the long wavelength ranges…and actually consists of separate antennas for each of the VHF (meter-range)…(S/C band (75 to 600 mm)…and L band (150 to 300 mm)…
Here is a good rendering of these various Nebo (meaning sky in Russian) antennas…each on their own high-mobility chassis…
http://ausairpower.net/APA-Nebo-SVU-Analysis.html
We must keep in mind the above-linked technical report is somewhat dated so we can assume latest hardware is more capable yet…
Bottom line is this…when Konashenkov says that infantile fantasies of US “stealth” aircraft flying around dropping bombs in Syria are going to be met with a rude awakening…he means it…
When the regime change business is closed the tough talking clowns will choke to death.
No one is running from Syria guys. No escaping from Putin’s death grip.
Indeed, this is a a point of no return. Now, we shall see for whom the bell tolls.
What worries me are false flag attacks, as those criminals never had cojones to begin with, and on another note, do we really ever expected anything good from them? I recently re-watched brilliant lecture by Harold Pinter, Art, Truth & Politics (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PH96tuRA3L0 ) where he reminded the world about the purveyors of “democracy” and their criminal record. It is sick.

People has being asking about China. Although I have not been there for a while, but one thing I can tell you is that Chinese does not feel much attachment to Middle East. We do however, have decent amount attachment to Iran, at least I feel so. Chinese culture has a lot influence from Iran and silk road.
Traditionally, Chinese empires do not send army overseas. I do not see the current government any difference. However, If the ISIS gets to Iran, especially Pakistan, that may be different story.
If you think about it, it is same position Russian has now. If Syria were lost, Russia will be the next. But not before.
In the past, as far back as Marco Polo’s visit to China, Farsi was the language used by the Chinese to deal with the west in trade and in diplomacy, because their language was too difficult for westerners then as it is now. So yes, ties to Iran go back a very long time.
Marco Polo was in China at time of Yuan, 1300 also. In about 700 (Tang), Persia lost to Arabs, and over 1 million of them fled to China. In the Han Dynasty over 2000 years ago. there was a mess amount of influence from Persia from introduce of Grape, Melons, to musical instruments. It seemed that Silk Road tapered off after Persia.
A large amount of Arab traders did come to China at 700, we know they were very advanced at the time. However, there seems not much written in history about them, maybe it had some thing to do with what happened to that part of world afterwards.
I am not suggesting China will fight a war in Iran or any where, It most like will not happen unless the situation similar to beginning of Korea war, or the situation with Russian marching into Syria: The friendly government is about to fall, the war will likely to fight on our soil.
I really thought Russian should have gotten to Syria earlier, but I totally understand why they did not.
But I think everyone is feeling there is a window of opportunity with US election. So we will see.
Looks like a man and talks like a man, unlike Ashton Carter !!
any excuses by Baltics etc to ratchett it up ..???
The Finnish Air Force suspects that there has been another alleged violation of its airspace by a Russian aircraft.
© FLICKR/ ROB SCHLEIFFERT Russian Military Denies Violation of Finland’s Airspace by Su-27 Fighter Jet MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Thursday, Finland’s Yle television reported citing border guard services that a Russian Su-27 jet had alleged stayed in the Finnish airspace for about a minute after crossing the border near the town of Porvoo some 30 miles east of the capital, Helsinki. “Russian SU-27 fighter suspected of having violated Finnish airspace in the afternoon on October 6. Later in the evening there was another suspected violation of airspace by the same aircraft type. The Air Force identified and described both machines,” the Finnish Air Force said in a Friday statement. According to the release, the first suspected alleged violation occurred at 16:43 local time on Thursday, while the second event took place in the same area at 21:33. The Russian Defense Ministry has denied reports of the first alleged violation of the Finnish airspace by a Su-27 jet, saying that the aircraft carried out a training flight over neutral waters in the Bay of Finland on Thursday.

UNSC meeting re Syria today..not caught up with MFA Zakharova usual Thursday presentation…
“Russian President Vladimir Putin held an operational meeting with the permanent Security Council members. The participants discussed in detail the situation around Aleppo in the US exit conditions of the agreement on cease-fire in Syria. “It was noted that the growing concern at the continued blocking of attempts by terrorist organizations to provide humanitarian assistance to the civilian population”, – reported the press service of the Kremlin.
In Syria, for the year of the Russian operations against terrorists managed to release a significant part of the territory, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said. “It has been a year since our Armed Forces carry out combat missions in the Syrian Arab Republic. During this time, it managed to stabilize the situation in the country, to release a significant part of its territory by armed groups of international terrorists, organize the work of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties, “- said Shoigu.
Moscow regrets that the United States decided to suspend the bilateral cooperation with Russia on Syria, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said. “Russia is doing everything we can to these arrangements began to be implemented in practice, unfortunately, this is impossible. The US side at this stage can not be together with their allies, for the coalition that Washington is formed, can not provide the moderate opposition separation from terrorists “Dzhebhat-en-Nusra”, “- Lavrov said.
As stressed Lavrov,” a part of the agreement Russian and Syrian authorities are ready to perform, it concerns including a cease-fire that was declared illegal and violated military forces. ” “This also applies to ensure humanitarian access, especially on the road Castello, in full compliance with the Russian-American documents,” – said Lavrov.
“We regret that our American colleagues have announced the termination or the suspension of bilateral work with us on Syria. Note, however, that multilateral formats are carried out of the brackets of the decision and are ready to use them, “- Lavrov said.
The Pentagon is taking precautions in Syria in connection with the placement of Russian air defense systems S-300, said a spokesman for the US Defense Department Peter Cook. “We will continue to take all steps necessary to ensure that our crews have acted as you can be more secure,” – said Cook in response to a question perceives whether it as a threat to the statement of the Defense Ministry representative Igor Konashenkova that the range of the C-300 can be “a surprise to any unidentified flying objects.” These words most US media interpreted as a threat to shoot down US aircraft.
“The Memorandum of Understanding, the secure channel of communication, in spite of our differences with the Russian, works effectively on reducing risk to our and Russian pilots and crew members,” – said Cook. “We will continue to use properly this channel of communication and encourage Russian to do the same,” – he concluded.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow has placed anti-aircraft missile system S-300 in Syria to secure protection of their military. “We need to ensure reliable security for our military, video conferencing, our trip logistics at the port of Tartus in a situation that does not calm down,” – he said. “I repeat and C-400 and C-300 – this is a purely defensive weapons, which do not threaten anyone,” – he added.
The missile or air strikes on the territory controlled by the Government of Syria, will create a clear threat to the Russian military, spokesman of the Ministry of Igor Konashenkov.
“A number of reputable western media published the” brain “of the discussion in the White House administration capabilities of missile and air strikes on the positions of Syrian forces”, – said Igor Konashenkov.
He pointed out that history shows that often these stuffing themselves prologue real action . “Would recommend to colleagues in Washington to carefully calculate the possible consequences of such plans today at the Syrian army arsenal are effective anti-aircraft missile systems S-200.” Buk “and other air defense systems, the technical condition of which over the past year has been restored – warned American colleagues Konashenkov . – in addition, to remind the American “strategy” that air cover of Russian military bases in Hmeymime and Tartous made anti-aircraft missile systems S-400 and S-300, the range of which may come as a surprise to any unidentified flying objects.
Indeed, because no one really He does not know what are the new missiles for these systems, and the possibility of Russian radars, which have learned to work in secret.
“I draw your attention to the” hot heads “, which after the application of 17 September aircraft strike coalition Syrian forces in Deir ez Zor, we took all necessary measures to avoid any such “mistakes” against Russian troops and military targets in Syria – said Konashenkov. – All amateurs illusion of the existence of “stealth aircraft” may face a disappointing reality.
The number of settlements that have joined the reconciliation process has increased to 738. The number of armed groups that have declared their commitment to the terms of a cessation of hostilities, has not changed – 69.
During the day recorded 49 violations of the cessation of hostilities by illegal armed groups in the provinces Aleppo (24), Damascus (18), Hama (5) and Latakia (2).
The Russian VKS and Air Force Syria opposition armed groups, have declared a cessation of hostilities and to report to the Russian or American centers reconciliation information about their location, strikes are not applied.
Washington does not rule out attacks on the forces of Damascus, although doubt that it is in the interests of the US, told reporters at a briefing the press secretary of the White House Josh Ernest. “The military action against the Assad regime in order to address the situation in Aleppo is unlikely to achieve the goals that are seen to many now, in terms of reducing violence. It is much more likely that they will lead to many unintended consequences that are not exactly in line with our national interests. But I will not exclude the consideration of any opportunities, “- said Ernest, in response to a question whether the US rule strikes on Damascus forces.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed hope that the United States does not prevail desire to attack Syria.
“We read today that there is in Washington willing to use force. It’s not a secret. I hope that they do not prevail. We have heard quite a balanced comment in response to a request to comment on the rumors that made the White House “- Lavrov said. He also hopes that “this reflects the basic line pursued by the Obama administration.”
Russia asks to hold an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in Syria, reports Agence France-Presse, citing diplomatic sources. Possible dates for the meeting were not disclosed.
In an interview with Danish TV channel TV 2, Syrian President Bashar Assad said that the fight against the rebels will continue for as long as they do not leave Aleppo. According to the Syrian president, militants have to do it. “No other option. We will not accept that terrorists take control of any part of Syria, not only of Aleppo, it is our mission and it is our goal, and this is our next step, “- said Assad. In addition, Bashar al-Assad has expressed doubt about the fact that Washington takes sufficient measures to avoid direct confrontation with Russia in Syria. “I am sure that Russia is doing everything in order not to reach this point. But do the Americans, or the “hawks” in the ranks of the US administration, all in order to avoid confrontation, or, on the contrary, everything is done for a confrontation with Russia took place “, – the President of Syria said.
Washington has no desire to seek a -or agreement with Russia on the normalization of the situation in Syria. Such an opinion was expressed by the Syrian President. “Any agreement depends on desire rather than to negotiate by themselves between the two great powers”, – he said. Looking at this from the outside, isn’t it surprising how the mood has changed ? A few weeks ago Russia was selling Syria down the river, now everyone is lauding Putin’s tough stance… Which is fine by the way, it’s just that maybe those who were doubting him should acknowledge their hot-headedness.
The fact is that the Saker was right all along. The Russians were, and still are, playing a very tight and prudent game against determined foes. We now know, thanks to leaks, that Kerry was advocating for war since 2013. I’ll bet the farm the Russians have known it all along. It’s just that they wanted to explore every possible avenue of diplomatic resolution before stepping on their toes and saying : “No more”.
These ceasefires were necessary. For months, Russia patiently moved its pieces, two steps forward, one step back. And now the USA are cornered. And we can judge how prudent the Russians had to be when we see that even now, while the Aleppo battle is practically over in strategic terms, the US have the finger on the trigger. How much more eager could they have been six months ago, when the SAA and the Jihadis were practically even ? Back the, Russia played it soft. Now, they take the hard stance, because they have the advantage on the ground.
I can only marvel at the skill of the Russian diplomats. Realpolitik at its best.
Good post Vincent,
you have summed up what I was saying.
I could not understand Lavrov and the ceasefires!!
But I see only now the dangerous situation they have been dealing with.
Those snakes in Washington really want to fight Russia a not isis
A window of opportunity for the Russians or a bit of poetic justice….

It may be that another cause for this series of threats against Russia is thevbankruptcy in what they are the Arab regimes that have been funding jihadists in Syria (Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates) and maybe also this the source of strife between terrorists recruited all over the Islamic world under payment of suculentvmoluments which perhaps now are drastically reduced or simply failing. Poetic justice once more time….and, comrades in the front line in Syria and Yemen, definitely, Allah is great!

This would remove the bulk of the zionazis terrorists from Aleppo and essentially return the city back to Syria.
Now that Russia has public created an effective no-fly-zone over Syria,
I’m a bit worried about an MH17-like provocation.
The US might turn off the transponder of a civilian plane using remote
hijack recovery software (already present in commercial airliners) or
they might jam the transponder signal usings AWACS or other electronic
warfare systems.
They cannot do this, as there are no Civilian flights over Syrian territory. Syrian Government stopped that at the start of the war. On Flightradar and other apps, you can see all non military flights in the world on live tracking. There are a couple of flights from Damascus to Tehran using Syrian Air planes but these are for Syrian personnel.

The Russians released some more info about their S-400 & S-300 missile systems in Syria.
This is What Will Shatter the ‘Illusions of Amateurs’ Against Russia in Syria
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/20161008/1046134414/russia-s300-syria.html
“S-300, S-400 usually have three missile stockpiles. It is a lot, due to the high probability that the target will be destroyed with the first hit. Experience from brush-fire wars shows that if during a massive air strike 20 percent of the enemy aviation is destroyed with the first hit, it will stop any further military activity of the enemy,” he told Russia’s online newspaper Vzglyad.
“I highly doubt that our suggested enemies have a kamikaze (suicide pilots) squadron within their aviation units,” the Lieutenant General added.
The expert explained that any flying object is already “seen” at 600-700 km distance from the air field. As soon as it appears within range, the anti-aircraft battalions are put on combat alert. These include not only anti-aircraft missile systems, but also cannon-missile systems, similar to well-known Panrsir.
Therefore, any unidentified targets flying in the direction of Hmeymim airfield will be destroyed upon entering into the air defense engagement area.
“Our missile defense systems are capable of destroying any aerial target at any speed regardless any counter measures or jamming. The engagement area of our air defense systems is up to 400 km,” he said.
“As we know, usually the aviation of a suggested enemy prefers to carry out destructive missile saturation without entering into the air defense engagement area, to be able to open corridors by punching a hole in the aerial defense,” he explained.
“This is exactly why S-300 VM2 has been deployed in Syria,” the Lieutenant General said confirming the warnings provided by Russia’s Defense Ministry.
He also assured that Russia’s aerial group won’t wait on the air field but will disperse into the air to rebuff the attacks.”
