Trump appears to be backtracking on a number of previously ‘less hostile’ positions he implied he would take. I believe the US position has changed little and is unlikely to change significantly under Trump. Moscow would be wise to wait for concrete actions before making any concessions towards a less hostile relationship with the US. My instinct tells me that the same elite are in charge and the hints of a thawed relationship are in reality close to a Trojan Horse approach to achieve the aims of the previous administration. My adice is BEWARE.
So far not much has changed. If what is happening is perpetrated by the CIA/Pentagon/NATO then until Trump gets a handle on it all it is reasonable, albeit distressing, to give him time.
However if more time goes by and nothing changes then we can all assume that the Trumpster is just part of a larger game of deception.
I believe foreign policy is dictated by Israel and the fact that vassals are still pumping out the ‘up is down’ propaganda is a worrying sign.
Vassal MI6/BBC is an example today of the tired nonsense:
Things only really started to fall in place for Russia during Putin’s 3rd term and he is still cleaning house. Did you really expect Trump to turn things around in a couple of weeks?
Ukraine is throwing a temper tantrum because Poroshenko flew all the way to Germany only to be told that he is being thrown under the bus. Is that not good enough? Nobody expects them to go quietly.
The USA is counting on Russian behaviour in last 20 years to backstab the allies in order To be in good eyes of angloaericanene.ies.
Russia betrayed Iran Libya even syria and Iraq and Yemen now.
American counts on Russian inferiority complex which arises from British and American propaganda orgNsorgAn.
I could never understand how Trump could be friendly to Russia while being hostile to China and Iran. Oh well… at least now the cards are on the table, and Mr Putin can see that Mr Trump’s apparently peaceable manner in their phone call was just sales patter.
Agree. And I am very pleased to see how well are strategic defense and long term policy synchronized with RF. By which I mean, no hate, sadness, firm stand, future trials for perpetrators of mass murder and minimization of destruction of all, repeat, all life on both sides.
He is giving in to some neo-con rants. They are mouthed by others.
When he speaks, he keeps saying what he has always said.
He hasn’t acted yet regarding Ukraine.
He hasn’t acted yet regarding Iran.
He hasn’t acted yet regarding China.
He has only sent vehicles to Syrian rebels with the SFA Kurds. Not directly to the Kurds as first reported.
Now, we have to see his actions.
Lots of theories at play with Ukraine and Crimea.
One is he wants a nuclear deal with Putin and is holding sanctions as his leverage.
The talk about Crimea is talk. The talk about Minsk 2 is talk.
China is upping the ante. If the US tries muscling them off the islands in the So. China Sea, there will be combat. Trump does not want war.
If these war drums on Iran, China and Russia are Trump’s, he would have three new wars of some sort. Added to the seven the US already can’t win.
He would fail at his own goals.
So, let’s watch the actions in each of these theaters.
If he makes a move to arm Ukraine with heavy weapons, Russia will turn lose the Army of Donbass and Ukraine will be splintered.
If he attacks some punishing blow to Iran, I imagine Iran has some counter blow to strike.
If he moves to “liberate” the islands in the So. China Sea, there will be a PLA fight that may turn into a terrible naval war fought with missiles.
The US voters who put him in expects only a war against ISIS.
He would become a one-term President.
Trump cannot afford any of these actions.
He must sit, talk, listen, negotiate. He will get to that. He has let the neocons talk. He has not let them act on the big theaters.
What you say, is a logical view and your arguments are standing. Trump doesn’t want war, at least so early in his presidency, it would be a political suicide, even more so if we take into account that his administration is not fully on the stage. Then, comes the question : who will to make a mess or who is behind the trigger ? someone(s) want to exploit this early stage, would be a logical answer. That is why Putin is in no hurry to make any comments, he is waiting patiently, has already taken every measures for any events.
Don’t think Zakharchenko will be so confident after hearing the UN speech today.
Those poor people must feel left hung out in this nasty international game of chess.
Good luck – my thoughts are continually with you all.
My mother in-law is almost back in Kiev from her 2 month holiday here in New Zealand. She is safe in Kiev – but I could see she was getting agitated with these latest developments in the East.
Question…
Is there any reason now, after Power’s — Haley’s — speech for Russia not to directly help defend Donbas? Who is left to impress who is not already decided on one side or another? What are going to do? Make another speech blaming Russia? Move another bunch of troops to Poland?
It seems to me the cards are dealt, and it’s time to play them. Why wait for more shelling and missiles — more death in Donbas?
cannot the ukraine be removed as chair of the UNSC this month by Russia, clearly as MFA says
“Ukrainian military shelling civilians in Donetsk on February, 3 was a ‘barbarous raid’, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said during her weekly press briefing on Friday.
“This barbarous raid can not be justified. Kiev’s actions violate not only the 1949 Geneva Convention on the protection of civil population during wartime but all moral norms as well,” Zakharova said. “Only vandals can bomb a city while it’s sleeping, destroying entirely blameless people. We have no other definition for the people who conducted this night sortie.”
At this point, since 911 happened, people must be very aware of what is going on. General Wesley Clark said the U.S has planned to take out 7 countries within 5 years. Evidence shows that is exactly what is happening. It doesn’t matter who comes in and who goes as president. Clinton started with Somalia and Somalia is still burning. Bush junior attacked Iraq and Afghanistan. Obama attacked Libya and Syria. Guess what, all these countries are stilled at war. Trump is now the president and obviously, he is upping the rhetoric against Iran. So war with Iran is inevitable. I wouldn’t buy anything what U.S has to say under Trump. One of their tactics is to distract its nemesis. Since Obama’s foreign policy was not popular, Trump has to somehow be different, that is why he seems to seek relations with Putin, but in reality he is not. The main reason is Trump wants to pull Russia away from Iran and China so that the U.S can attack all three by isolating them. I doubt all three (Russia, Iran and China) if they don’t have one voice and support one another, they will soon be attacked one way or another.

Ukraine conflict: Shelling rages on after nightfall

“The conflict in eastern Ukraine erupted after Russia annexed Ukraine’s southern Crimea peninsula in March 2014”
and:
“Russia has repeatedly denied sending troops and weapons into eastern Ukraine, but admits that Russian “volunteers” fight alongside the rebels”

‘Sasha’ shows great courage, sound reason, patience and determination under the most dire circumstances.
My heart aches for the suffering of the people of Donbass and Lugansk.
Peace and blessings.

Finaly he just has tonight, left Nazi Ukraine and the boss(real owner of the US,the UK..I mean the City).

So is anyone keeping a close eye on those American ships doing maneuvers in the Black Sea? Weren’t they there doing some sort of drill during MH17?
sigh. same ol’, same ol’
