It’s been since I first starterd reading The Saker’s articles that I felt a gap in my understanding and appreciation of the Russian context. A gap that coincided, coexisted with the assumptions and preconceptions instilled in me through the Western educational system and its media.
My sincere hope is that, with this course, I can take a step in the direction of closing this gap. I am inviting anyone interested in understanding Russia better to come and take a look at the proposed course material. The course is free and taught by prof. Mira Bergelova of the National Research University of Moscow.
I am not affiliated with Coursera, nor with the National Research University.
No doubt, he is a clever man. And he wants to impress and look nice.
But oh no, these fine words of “moderate” sheiks and imams. Do you still have hope or always as naive as before?
In the 6th minute, why doesn´t he quote exactly the holy Quran when speaking about orthodox christians becoming “friends” with moslems in the end? I can give you 10 cruel quotes for each of the moderate, the Quran of Medina is full of them and they over-rule the older ones from Mekka. http://www.politicalislam.com/
Yeah, the bible’s full of stuff about genociding outsiders too, but we’re kind of hoping foreigners will overlook that stuff and believe us when we say we’re kind of selective about which bits we go with nowadays. Mind you, they might be fools to do so given the Christian West’s foreign policy track record, but that’s not mostly because someone was taking old bible verses literally. It’s been ages since we massacred any usurers, too (worse luck) so clearly we don’t take biblical admonitions all that seriously. I see no reason Muslims can’t go as fast and loose on the nastier parts of the Koran as we do on our own texts.
The old testament with the genocide references comes directly from the jewish religion.
In the New testament, there are no parts about genocide etc.
Early and later Christians should have rejected old testament and only keep new testament.
Nevertheless, it would be great if the ancient (greek/roman etc) religions have survived up to this day.
The main difference between the genocides between the two testament is that the genocides in the new (e.g. Matt 2:13-23) is that it is committed by those outside the kingdom.
I agree with you 100%. Personally I reject the Old Testament. Too bloody, too vengeful. … it is not the Christ’s Way.
For those tempted to criticize what I just said, for me the New Testament is the only one that counts. It’s my right and it’s what I have chosen to do.
sorry master, I’m not quite clear what you’re saying? The more recent quotes from Medina overrule the older quotes from Mekka ? Why is that ? What happened in Medina ?
Quran was told & written over numbers of years. The earlier verses were supposedly full of spiritual things and universal love. However, the later verses are full of armed action against kaffr. Quran was last edited in Medina when old verses were superseded.
Quran has many verses which may contradict each other. Even ISIS claim that they are following the salafist ( literal translation) of Quran and same has not been refuted by any scholar.
Anyway, I am not from Abrahamic religion (Islam or Christianity or Juda-ism) & so not an expert on these things. Neither I share any thought that people of some specific religions should own this world.
Thanks Chakra for your answer…Yeah I can believe that about the first version. this is a beautiful story about the origins of the Qu-ran.
It sounds wonderful and actually fits in with ‘the times’ that were in ME in those far off days. Christianity, which I don’t actually look on as an ‘Abramich’ religion, although Jesus was a Jew…but he was hated and killed by the Jews as well, and his followers after him…..but Christianity – which was originally all about Love – had been thriving there for 600 years.
Unfortunately the ‘RC’ was already getting strong.
But the Gnostics were still there, although many had been slaughtered already…sadly….and the Greek sages had been ‘ousted’ from Athens by then.
And then Mohamed came. And its nice to think that his message was about love and spirit. Nice.
The verses that were revealed in Medina don’t cancel out the older ones from Mecca. This is a common theme that islamophobes like to push. There is a sura that they claim says that the Quran ‘abrogates’ itself meaning the older verses are replaced by newer ones, but the sura is not referring to the Quran itself and is actually referring to the older revealed books ie. the Torah and Bible. Just as the new testament ‘abrogates’ the old testament the Quran is making the claim that it ‘abrogates’ both the old and new testament
Now I’m really revealing my ignorance of Islam…The Torah…is that the older version ?
And Slim, I am a Christian that really sees the ‘Old Testament’ as a Hebrew Folk Religion.
but the New Testament is about a person who was not a folk religious leader…the Jews hated him. So I actually really detest alot of the Old Testament…just when I try to read it.
And I think that the fact that Christian Fundamentalists always actually end up studying the Old Testament more, and it has more influence on Fundamentalist views…ie…the Law….
And that actually hampers the ‘New’ testament which was to replace the old …. for the Jews…..but not the Greeks, as it wasn’t anything to do with them..it was Hebrew…
Paul was a Jew and he had a ‘new’ testament that overruled the ‘old’ for the Jews…..not for the Greeks or the Syrians or whoever else was part of that wonderful old world.
Where to start with you on this. Yes, Jesus was a Semite, so the language he spoke is Semite language, i.e. Aramaic and not Hebrew. So, where did we get the New Testament in Greek/Roman?
Therefore, the New Testament is not the work of Jesus. The only four Aramaic words of Jesus in the New Testament don’t even give with each other.
Somehow you have withheld from the public here that Quran is only 14% of the written text islam is fundamentally referring to. So either you have no clue or you are so tricky as the imams in London etc.
They explain the religion to moslems, not you. Your comparation with bible is childish. Walk with bible the streets of Al-Riyadh and you will feel the difference and that will be the last of your feelings in this world.
There is enough about it to be found in internet.
The quote you ask is in his lectures available in you tube channel, so just look at it..
His methodology is what makes different from mainstream scholars..
And, again where to start with you too. By posting 2 minutes video without any proof you are claiming as such, “In the 6th minute, why doesn´t he quote exactly the holy Quran when speaking about orthodox christians becoming “friends” with moslems in the end? I can give you 10 cruel quotes for each of the moderate, the Quran of Medina is full of them and they over-rule the older ones from Mekka.”
What BS, bring the proof, which I doubt you can. It appears that you must be working for The Tribe.
BTW, the so called above Sheikh Imran is quoting from the last chapter of the Quran, which is from Medina, but the Sheikh Imran is twisting the verse claiming that it has only to do with Orthodox Christians. No, the verse has to do with “Christians”.
Mohamed, the word you use “twisting” is full of negative connotations… And I really truly believe that Sheikh Imran Hosein ‘interprets’ the scriptures that he loves.
And that is not a crime on a spiritual level. People can take it or not, as they wish. The sheikh interprets the scriptures he loves, as I do myself, with the scriptures that I love….in all seriousness and earnestness….no crime there.
And furthermore, his message is one of huge huge love and reconciliation…a truly totally Christian deed…and he’s a Muslim. Wow…
And I think its true. Its totally true, what the sheikh is preaching… as far as I can see it. Look at what’s happening at this very minute in the Middle East ? Assad and Putin…
Anyone who disagrees on a ‘technicality’ is an ‘old testament’ lawyer.
Where to start again. You believe that only Christians love others and Muslims are not capable. You seem surprised. The Golden Rule is in every religion, even in the Old Testament too. So, Jesus didn’t bring The Golden Rule, he just emphasized it.
The Holy Quran tells us the same about The Golden Rule. It also tells us that the closet to Muslims are Nasara (Christians). No where it just qualifies it to just Orthodox Christians. Here is the verse:
Pickthall : Chapter 5, Verse 82 (Mecca Verse)
“Thou wilt find the most vehement of mankind in hostility to those who believe (to be) the Jews and the idolaters. And thou wilt find the nearest of them in affection to those who believe (to be) those who say: Lo! We are Christians. That is because there are among them priests and monks, and because they are not proud.”
I have a personal interest in the above. My wife of 40 years is from Dixie Land, and is an ex-WASP, now she is a Shia Muslim. But all my in-laws are Christians and believe me they are all “Good Christians” and “God Fearing” Christians too.
BTW, Chapter 5 is almost the last chapter of The Holy Quran as Bible, Quran is not in chronological order. Nor the verses in the chapter are in chronological order too.
Hi Mohamed, thanks for answer..very interesting..no wonder you always talk about Oman.
The frankincense from Oman is the very best. I think that was where the original gift of the wise men, was from..I don’t know if the wise men or one of them was from Oman….was it part of the old Persian empire…sorry might be an ignorant question.
Salam dear Mohammed and Ann,
I think the translation of the verse is somewhat wrong, because the verse says because they have priest and monks and they’re not “arrogant”. The word proud is a mistake.
Thank you
To: Ann & Mohammed
The verse Sheikh Imran has mentioned:
“…..those who say: Lo! We are Christians. That is because there are among them priests and monks, and because they are not proud.”
Watch the word of the Qur’an, every single of them: Allah(SWT) could have said “….those who are Christians….”, however He(SWT) did not say that, rather He(SWT) said, “…….those who say ..WE ARE CHRISTIANS….” – a big difference indeed!
The verse means that a group of Christians who are proud to be Christians, not the western Zionist inspired Judeo-Christians, who have hijacked the Christianity, and propagating all kinds of anti-God social legislations!
This is the gist of the Sheikh’s understanding, which is profound and revolutionary!!
Take it, or leave it. As Qur’an states: Allah(SWT) does not like ignorant people, who does not reflect!
My view is that information is available and anybody, if willing, can access alternative sources to seek truth. The West, or whatever you may call it, awash in propaganda and lies, is not a coherent bloc and will get less coherent with time and most definitely has no substance to fight WWIII. Yes, there are radicals, nazis and lunatics, but that is not enough to start a credible war.
My hope is that, eventually, the West will see that Russia is on the right path, together with China and Iran.
It is human and sensible not to stick with the loosers, when it is obvious who the loosers are, more so when the ultimate aim of the future confrontation is to rid the world from oppression.
It will be a fight of the oppressed (which includes everybody) against the 0,1% which creates and benefits from human misery and environmental destruction.
Obama to Keep 5,500 US Troops in Afghanistan When He Leaves Office: Officials
October 15, 2015 – 19:02
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – US President Barack Obama will keep 5,500 troops in Afghanistan when he leaves office in 2017, according to senior US administration officials.
Obama plans to keep 5,500 US troops across Afghanistan into 2017, senior administration officials told NBC News — well more than the small security force he promised last year.
The United States currently has about 9,800 troops in Afghanistan — sharply down from 100,000 that were in the country as recently as 2010.
“now that we’ve stopped the endless supply columns coming out of Turkey into n. Syria…” or something.
“because Erdogan is desperate now, with election Nov 1, & really has his hands full now with all those ordnance-rich terrists penned up inside Turkey, with nothing to do but look for targets or join Ergenekon”.
Moscow, Ankara Establishing Military Contacts in Fight Against ISIL
October 15, 2015 – 15:30
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said that Moscow and Ankara are currently establishing contacts between the two countries’ military forces to work more efficiently in fighting terrorist organizations operating in Syria.
Moscow and Ankara are currently establishing contacts between the two countries’ militaries to work more efficiently in fighting terrorist organizations operating in Syria, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Meshkov said Thursday.
Russian Generals went to Ankara to work out issues with Turkish military.
It is not just overflight rules and supply lines to terrorists.
Supplying Kurds fighting Turkey is a big issue. Lavrov indicated the Iraqi Kurds get Russian supplies through Baghdad (Iranian controlled).
Turkey is in deep trouble. The military must know it cannot fight an internal civil war, a border war with Kurds and continue to train, arm and resupply ISIS and AQ in Syria.
Russia has already held off Israel and the US and most of NATO. Turkey has to realize it is up against Putin’s determination.
Unfortunately, Turkey is not to be, or can it be trusted. No more so than the zionists, the european boot lickers or the empire of chaos; thank you Pepe for a most apt description of the leader of the nato criminal gang.
It certainly makes me wonder, at times, why Russia’s leader and diplomatic corps stick with the tired play book? Offerring and asking for cooperation between the great shaitan and themselves. Why or how can they trust the devil? Or is it all part of a well thought plan?
Russian President Vladimir Putin said US policy on Syria is weak and lacks objectives, though he remains open to direct talks as Russia continues its bombing campaign in support of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. “I don’t really understand…
Goes double for Mr Ed…..anyone note his cryptic pun about “oatmeal for brains” a few days ago?
What kind of barnyard critter loves oatmeal?
Sheikh Imran: Well, he is correct because retribution is the order of the day ( a concept very different from retaliation or revenge) ever since the question was posed to the whole world with the full impulse of higher forces: ” Do you even realize what you have done?” There is a camera angle when for a very quick moment Putin glances up during this question and his forehead’s 3rd eye region tilts up horizontally. That was when heaven and earth spoke with one voice briefly.
Thus, “Power will be used to punish the oppressor.” He may be a few years off on his timing as to the big blow up with Russia but the insane logic of people who can bomb a hospital with incendiary devices and flechettes for over 1 hour is that of “destroy it in order to save it”. Evil.
The third eye is situated between the eyebrows and just above the eyebrow line, and not on the forehead. It NEVER manifests itself physically on the face.
The US can jump, they can shout. It doesn’t matter. US is losing and it has already lost the Middle East to Putin. And this is why >> http://bit.ly/1PSXaoK
I disagree with his analysis. No big war coming. In fact, Wall Street and the City of London began staging their biggest rally in four years the DAY Russia supposedly began striking Isis in Syria. International high finance are obviously not worried about the empire’s interests in the Middle East. Quite the opposite. And those guys always have the best intelligence, since they are the real government.
Me think Putin and Obama are playing good cop/bad cop.
Putin used his UN speech (very mellow and boring) to come to the U.S. and meet Obama one on one without losing face with the Russian people. And of course, he had met with Netanyahu a few days before that.
Let me remind this same person who says big war is coming, is same person who predicted arab spring in 2002. He speaks as an eschatalogist, he knows what he is talking about. We actually have texts which refer to big war and nuclear war. I may not agree with him about in one year time, but surely nuclear war is coming, those nukes were meant to explode.
BS. Tons of his “predictions” over the years were proven untrue.
You guys always err on the Sid of wishful thinking.
I remember the reactions on this site after the Greek No referendum. I knew it was all BS as soon as I saw the market futures’ reaction that night, and the ally the following days.
International high finance always tells the tale. Dow Jones: + 1200 points since Russia began “striking” in Syria.
Putin’s speech at the UN: 23 minutes.
Putin’s meeting with Obama: more than two hours.
Obama to Medvedev: tell Vlad I will have more flexibility in my second term.
Putin still hasn’t sanctioned a single U.S. corporation.
Putin and Obama work together, playing good cop/bad cop.
I believe that the Deep State will continue with Obama’s policies. I certainly hope so, as I don’t think that Obama alone can achieve all this.
I believe that the West has made the decision that Isreal don’t want peace. They were helpless with AIPAC being so strong. So, the first order of business was bring down AIPAC. They decided that the Israel right and moron Netanyahu will be great for this job. The rest is history in the last 2 years.
I predicted this on the Old Saker Blog detailing 8 things. Two things that I didn’t predict are the best, which I will list them down. I used to say, that both Obama and Putin are in cahoots. People thought that being an Ahab, I don’t know the meaning of cahoots. So, they start quoting me from the dictionary the meaning of cahoots. To make the story short, Saker personally asked me not to use Obama and Putin are in cahoots. I complied with the Owner of the House.
The two things that I didn’t predict and which took me with pleasant surprise are:
1. Barrel of Oil being between $50 to $80, which is good for All Poor People of the world. Today, everything is produced is with Oil, even Food.
2. Bringing Russia to the doorsteps of Israel with Modern Advance Arms. Russia is already in Syria, very soon they will be in Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon …….
Obama to bring Putin on his side, gave Crimea to Putin on a Sliver Platter, and the rest of Ukraine will be Federalized according to Putin’s Wishes.
It does not matter who is in the White House.
Obama and Putin are just the current representatives of the powers that be in their respective countries.
I actually don’t agree with the ‘deep state’ – ‘all in cahoots’…stuff…its just another very dark theory.
I think Putin and Lavrov are what they appear and are fighting the oligarchs…all is not lost and agenda 21, although I haven’t done much reading on it, is not what the future holds.
You base your geo-strategical analysis on the most unstable, short-term/short-sighted, volatile, corrupt and fake usurus economic market of Wall street (dow jones) and their speculations ?
No I base it on history. Perhaps you need to read up on Rothschild and Waterloo?
Oh and FYI, white knight Putin has enacted some of the most pro Zionist laws in the entire world in the last 15 years.
I agree with Mohamed that Putin and Obama work together. But I disagree that they do so against Israel. Quite the opposite.
Putin and Obama work hand in hand toward the destruction of Europe and the advent of greater Israel.
It would take a white paper to explain why. But any person with a bit of old school Aristotelian logic left can put the pieces together. Just like it was easy to see Tsipras was not working for the Greek people.
Interesting interview of a religious person. Religion always tends to the conservative and well behind what the people practice in loving relationships to one another. It is a well known and proven statistic that on average between 5 and 10% of the population at any given time is not wired heterosexually. The minority with the non usual wiring are in all other means normal human beings with the full range of human qualities and emotions. Orthodox religions seem to have a hard time recognizing this way of being for humanity and if they condemn those non usual beings then they condemn humanity in all its manifestation and glory. In the 21st century we must acknowledge that some people are gay or bi or hetero or whatever but that all are capable of being excellent members of humanity. If you want, God made them all and we are made in his image.
Sorry to disagree with you. No, we are not made in God’s Image. His Image is Good and Perfect.
We like every creation are creation imperfect.
What a person does between 4 walls, it is their and God’s business. What a person does out in open, then it becomes the community business. This applies to all kind of sex, as we are not animals.
Try studying some biology. The only thing humans have that other animal life on this planet does not is language — and that does not mean they cannot communicate.
I didn’t claim that animals cannot communicate with each other. They try to be discreet about sex, but sometimes it out in the open. What I was saying that it is some humans who are not discreet about sex, and then it becomes the business of the society.
Sheikh Imran Hosein in the heart of the vast sadness of Belgrade delivers his explanation of the state of play in the world and Syria, and speaks also of the coming potential for nuclear war. All of this against the backdrop of the Christian and Muslim civilizations coming together in brotherhood, fellowship and love.
Some places will be destroyed, he says, but not all. And neither Cristian nor Muslim should fear death, but rather should ask oneself, which side will one take? Where does one stand? Whose army does one join?
I feel as if struck, like a bell, and still ringing. And I suppose the people of Belgrade must long have felt this way anyway, even before Imran came to shake them up and stir them to action.
He came, he said, to recall to them – and to call them to – the prophecy of Muslim and Christian coming together. I cannot fault his action.
I am on record here as a big fan of Sheikh Imran Hosein, and I hereby renew my membership in this club. But even so, truth is truth, and purely as geopolitical analysis the man nails with flawless clarity everything that has happened and that is happening.
As for what will happen, he prays that he is wrong and I pray also for a different outcome from the one his dreams tell him will happen. But I have the advantage that the teachings I live by allow me to believe in Peter Pan – if we clap hard enough the impossible can occur, and peace can reign instead of death. And I believe this spirit of life is what fills the heart of Russia even as she arises in the true spirit of Christianity, which is life and peace, over death and war.
So a new thing will happen, if we clap hard enough.
I sometimes wonder, you shouldn’t be called, “Grieved” but rather “Rejoice”.
The more and more I listen to Sheikh Imran the less and less respect I have for him. The man is all puffed up and in this video he compares himself to the Prophet (saws) of Islam. Astaghfirullah (“I seek forgiveness from Allah”; a short prayer of redemption).
He blatantly twists both The Holy Quran and The Sunnah of Mohammad (saws) to fit his agenda.
However, Brother Saker like all human beings has soft belly and is prejudice too, like all human beings. He likes Sheikh Imran because of Sheikh Imran twisting things about Orthodox Christians….
The Sunni have lot of great religious scholars, and Brother Saker should ………..
That was unfair, Saker. I listened to this brilliant interview with Imran Hossein late last night – and couldn’t sleep afterwards :-)
Imran Hossein’s analysis of current global affairs is, as always, sharp and to the point, his insights into the follies Judeo-Christian Zionism insightful and, yes, very alarming.
Where i can’t follow the Sheik’s reasoning is when he projects the precarious current geopolitical crisis, additionally super-charged by Russia’s involvement in Syria, to an unavoidable nuclear war predetermined by Islamic eschatology.
I view Russia’s military support for Syria, that has taken the world by surprise, as exactly the opposite, namely a preemptive, decisive move to counter precisely such an agenda.
For this to work Russia’s military campaign has to be as successful and as short as possible.
Once Syrian territorial integrity has been restored, the CIA-mercenaries have been driven out of the country – hopefully by the end of the year – Putin will then swiftly move to a broad deescalation (South Ossetia style) with international participation, peace talks, conferences, etc.
Many people will be disappointed by such an anti-climax and will be calling Putin, again, a sell-out, in cahoots with the banksters – the usual nonsense.
A very, very risky enterprise by Putin. But it might just work.
Certainly I see how what you say might apply to Harris, Hitchens and Maher (the New Atheists) but it is not clear that the practice of piety which has arose through the ages has anything to do, in itself, with political manipulation and military action. Certainly such a corpus of practice once developed is susceptible to political subversion ( a form of spiritual subversion). The Catholic neocons are an example of this.
I am overwhelmed with joy. A hand of friendship and a denouncement of Ottoman empire in the land of the Serbs spoken to Serbs and Muslims both. When you Saker announced something big, some time ago, that you are part of in Serbia, i admit that in my wildest dreams i could not imagine this. No words can express my happyness that in this instance reality delivered more than my imagination.
Sheikh is a great man. I also admit that i admire him for his work. Living your ideals. Brave thing to do. More so when that ideals are not so popular and require great sacrifice. And above all offer a hope to improve things to everyone’s benefit.
Now would be a good time for one of our Orthodox monks to step forward, leave solitude of the monastery aside and heal a divide in Serbian Orthodox Church. And after that take the hand of Sheikh Imran and boldly go forward and lead us all into salvation.
Accept gratitude that no words can express and with tears in my eyes both you Sheikh Imran Hossein, and you Saker. Who i would like to liken to Archibald Reiss, great man, one of great friends of Serbia in your fight for Truth. Keep up the good fight!
This is partly a reply to Mario Medjeral (see one of the main comments below)
You state that your “hope is that, eventually, the West will see that Russia is on the right path”
Who is this West, exactly ?
Who will see this exactly?
Is it some of the leadership? Is it people from the political and economic elite?
Do you mean that their will be European leaders for example, that will begin to have some common sense?
You say “hope”, and it is always good to have hope, however you must also be realistic and base your analysis using the facts on the ground (from the past and present situation)
Hopes are different than what you actually believe is most likely to happen.
You say “it is human and sensible not to stick with losers”……and this is correct for those who are sensible. However, for those who have become arrogant and feel they are an exceptional people, they have lost all sense of logic, balance and normality…..and history has many many examples of this…..So this view does not hold for the situation we are in.
The West has become so arrogant that they believe that their rule is forever eternal, they believe that they have the responsibility to civilize the native people of the world. They believe they are the “exceptional” people, chosen to rule over mankind………The Western elite (political, economic, media) believe this, and it has been increasing more and more since their existence as super powers (going back several hundred years).
You state “the ultimate aim of the future confrontation is to rid the world from oppression”…..this should be true. However, this is not the case at the moment…..The West is heading towards the opposite direction….the oppression, arrogance, injustice, poverty, militarism is increasing by the day.
The oppressed cannot fight the 0.1% or 1%, without leadership……..Anyone who is oppressed and rises needs a leadership, needs someone who can restore order, stability, justice and should be able to connect and create alliances with like minded people (since the world is so connected, and always was even before technology)…..this is well known, and is backed by history.
The Western people cannot rise, if all their elite who are controlling the economy mainly in the form of the banks who control the currency, the companies, the military, the media, the political establishment and even the “academia” (I know, because I was one of them) are working together to enslave the people and have employed so many within the so called Middle-class.
The system is so corrupt and the people are so enslaved that a world war is inevitable in my humble opinion.
Hope is important, hope gets you up in the morning, hope makes you go out and do and say the right thing, and makes you become the best person you can be as long as you are on this Earth, for the short time you are here (90 years if your lucky, or not lucky, depending what people prefer).
My point is….as you have hope to speak out against injustice and what you see is wrong, in order to show people the truth and get them to also speak out, and to change whatever you can with the resources and connections you have……You also must recognize, how deep and complex the problem is, how far the West has gone, and if it continues, where we will end up. Otherwise, you will never solve the problem.
The Oded plan has crumbled. The myth of the invincibility of Zion is in tatters. This is similar to the defeat of apartheid South Africa militarly by Fidel Castro’s Cuba in the devastated remote Angolan town of Cuito Cuanavale. This rapidly demised the invincibility of apartheid, nazis, the same model Zionist Israel is based on.
The more I listened to the above Sheikh Imran, the less I respect him. Why?
1. He is all puffed up.
2. He compares himself to the Prophet Mohammad (saws). Astaghfirullah (“I seek forgiveness from Allah”; a short prayer of redemption).
3. He disgrace the Prophet of Islam by claiming the following about The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah. Astaghfirullah:
a. That No One agreed with him.
b. That all Muslims refused his Command about the sacrifice.
c. That one of his wife came to the rescue of the Prophet of Islam.
4. Doing the above, Sheikh Imran casts doubt on the Prophet-ship of Mohammad (saws), as this treaty was singed near the end of the Prophet’s death. Astaghfirullah.
5. Sheikh Imran claims that Turkey performed Jihad of War against the Orthodox Christians for 500 years, but it was no Jihad of War. But he doesn’t give any concrete antidote how to avoid this BS Jihad of Wars in future. Why?
6. As a Sunni, he believes that any Tom, Dick and Harry can give the orders for Jihad of Wars. Why?
7. Because, Sheikh Imran believes that after the death of the Prophet, The Rashidun Caliphate could change the religion. Why?
8. That abu Bakr, Omar and Osman could change the religion and that they did change the religion. But Sheikh Imran forgets that Prophet Mohammad (saws) was the last Prophet.
9. Last but not the least, Sheikh Imran twist The Holy Quran and The Sunnah of Mohammad (saws) to fit his agenda.
Salam Muhammed, if I may say so. Peace is what I mean and we all need it. I greet you as a Christian.
I did not see Imran compare himself to the Prophet. I am not an expert, I have read with interest perhaps a third of the Koran in my language. Which Muslim would dare to compare himself to the Prophet?
I can not comment on the rest of your accusations. The only thing I can say is that the Koran gives some protection for Christians and Jews. What Turkey did was empire-building, a poliical thing. It caused sorrows. You still see the wounds.
Thank you for calling me a Christian. BTW, the Zoroastrians, the Jews, the Christians and the Muslims are called by The Holy Quran as “People of The Book (singular)” Meaning, we are One People and with One Book.
As a Muslim, I am sure that you are aware that The Holy Quran is not in chronological order. Neither the Chapters, nor the Verses within a Chapter are in chronological order. Chapter 5 is almost the last Chapter of The Holy Quran which is a Medina (Yatrib) Chapter.
Here is the Verse, Sheikh Imran is referring to:
Sahih International : Chapter 5, Verse 82:
“You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah ; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, “We are Christians.” That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant.”
Please show me where in the Verse it says that it is “Inclusive to Orthodox Christians Only”?
Salam Mohammed,
Allah clearly says that Muslims shouldn’t take Jews and Christians as allies and friends, who are themselves (some jews and some Christians) allies and friends of each other.
“O you who have faith (in Allah) do not take (such) Jews and (such) Christians as your friends and allies who themselves are friends and allies of each other. And whoever from amongst you turns to them (for friendship and alliance) now belong to them (and not to us). Surely Allah does not guide a wicked people.”
(Qur’ān, al-Māida, 5:51)
Because how can one be friends and ally with someone who killed his prophet. They’re betraying their religions. And imran’s interpretation of this is that indeed there’s an alliance between western Christianity and western Judaism, and I emphasize the word western, which is the Zionist alliance, the godless, demoralized western world. I think that his interpretation is making a lot of sense.
And Allah identify this orthodox/eastern Christianity in Surat ar-rum.
Rum have been defeated in a land close by, but after their defeat they will be victorious within few years. The affair is Allah’s from beginning to end. On that day, the believers will rejoice. (Qur’an, Surat ar-Rum :1-4)
Rum represents the byzantine empire which was never part of the Western Christianity who launched crusades against Muslims and eastern/orthodox Christians for centuries.
I think that doesn’t take long to understand, its pretty easy to grasp the meaning of each word and make up your mind.
Adding this verse
Sahih International : Chapter 5, Verse 82:
“You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah ; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, “We are Christians.” That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant.”
It’s clear that Allah speaks about the Christians which are close to arabia and which both people lived together till recently, less than 100 years ago.
Then we see this alliance starting to build up with Russia and the Muslim world. It just makes sense.
Dear Mohammed and readers, please let me know your views.
“The only thing I can say is that the Koran gives some protection for Christians and Jews. What Turkey did was empire-building, a poliical thing. It caused sorrows. You still see the wounds”.
Yes, I can still see the wounds and the empire-building, a political thingy. But why exclusive to the Ottoman Empire (Turkey)?
Why not to all the Empire Building, starting with Omayyad Empire, Abbasid Empire, Fatimid Empire …….? Even the Caliphate of Rashidun.
You know why?
Because Sheikh Imran believes in Predestination. He believes that all these corrupt Empires (Dynasties) and any Muslim Leader is chosen by The Will of Allah, therefore we must obey them.
As a Shia Muslim I don’t believe that these corrupt Empires (Dynasties) are chosen by The Will of Allah. So, the Sunni call me a non-Muslim, they call me a Rafidi who rejects The Will of Allah.
Also, Sheikh Imran claims that Turkey did Jihad for Wars for 500 years, which was wrong. As a Shia, I believe that Jihad for Wars command comes from Prophets of Islam, and no one else. Prophet Mohammad (saws) being the Last Prophet, and since he is no longer with us, therefore Jihad for Wars is no longer applicable.
Now in Sunni, any Tom, Dick and Harry can give the orders for Jihad of Wars. So, I don’t see Sheikh Imran offering any antidote for this cancer. Do you?
Frankly speaking and so sorry to say, you need to educate yourself further. removed – no personal attacks. Mod TR. You seems do not understand the Qur’an and world history well enough.
Your attitude do not represent a true moslem.
anon, for a reader of this dialogue I have to say that at least Mohamed has a name…so that I know its him that is saying things, each time he says them….anon – all of them – are just fog….
And I like learning about this..Mohamed seems very earnest and serious about the topic, even though I’m sure many don’t agree with him. But its interesting hearing about all this
Mohamed. I think that the goal is peace for the Sheikh…and to quibble about straws in the stack is not productive. He’s done alot in a few years to help the Muslim population in Eastern Europe and the Christians in Eastern Europe enjoy to have him talk at their university.
I totally doubt he feels that he is somehow a symbol of the Prophet except in a earnest and peace seeking way.
Salam dear Mohammed,
I read your critique of the sheikh Hosein, could you please state 1 example of each of the points you stated please, because I don’t see what you’re talking about and you’re kind of representing Islam in this topic as far as I can see in which case I think you should present proof and evidence with each statement you make, if we are to make a difference here and reconcile with each other.
Please do clarify your points as I would like to know the truth.
Thank you
I tried to contact Imran Hussein, but his contact page does not work.
I wanted to tell him I am a Swedish Swedenborgian and have some understanding of Islam and much respect. Swedenborg explains the difficult subject of the Trinity and helps us to see only one God. The Father is in the Son, as the soul is in the body and His work, the Holy Spirit, flows from His Hands. Only One God.
I also remember the letter of protection the prophet Muhammed wrote to a Christian monastery in Egypt. He, the Prophet, protected the Christians and the original letter still exists. Muslims need to know.
I want to tell Imran Hussein that not only Orthodox Christians can be his allies. The North of Europe, Scandinavia, Finland and Russia are closely related. We have a common history and we are related, though we have suffered in several terrible wars, not least because of the machinations of Rome. I like ordinary Catholics, respect them, but this must be said and some of them will understand. This kinship also extends to Ukraine, I should add. Evil forces have turned this poor country into a nightmare for all of us and it divides us. I think that is typical of evil forces. Evil always divides and rules.
It took time, but I have come to see that many of my grandparents habits and clothes have close Russian equivalents, as I saw when I visited Russia several years ago. My grandfathers high winterhat, my grandmothers everyday veil and some summer festivals in Russia remind me of my Swedish childhood. My daughters still put flowers in their hair at midsummer, as I have seen Russian young women do. I felt at home in Russia, especially now that my country is not regocnisable anymore. In Russia, I saw the Swedish 1950-ties. All the best, Imran.
I wanted to say how much I enjoyed what the Sheik had to say about Islam.
Now I want to add my own thoughts as a Christian. There are many parallel passages in the New Testament that I think the Sheik and I would find agreement on.
“Do not be led astray ‘by every word or vain doctrine’. ‘Out of the heart the mouth speaketh’.
(Every action has the thought behind it from which it originates. A philosophy is shown in actions, in policy. We must judge all actions by the results of them. Only in this realistic way may we gain an insight into the philosophy behind them )
‘Man does not live by bread alone…’
(Through the ages man’s inventiveness and needs urged him to efforts towards his development. Man needed tools and the help of his fellows – no man is a ‘self-made’ man in the sense ‘successful’ men are so thought. The ‘successful’ millionaire did not build the roads his car travels on, nor build the electricity station his factory runs its power on. It was by the associations of past generations that accomplished these assets.
We in the Social Credit movement refer to this association as such:
‘Social’ comes from the Latin Socius, a companion or association. ‘Credit’ comes from the Latin Credo, faith, confidence. So Social Credit is faith or confidence in association. At this level it is easy to see that Credit, confidence that everyone will abide by the social ethos, is the basis of any society, whether it be a cricket club or a State. No one disputes it. Let us look at a more exact definition:
‘Social Credit is the efficiency of human beings in association, measured in terms of human satisfaction.’
‘Efficiency’ is used here in its exact meaning – power to produce the result intended; so our definition now runs:
‘Social Credit is the power of human beings in association to produce the result intended measured in terms of human satisfaction.’
The last clause is important – note: not measured in terms of pig-iron produced, or Five Year Plans fulfilled, but of human satisfaction. It follows there is an opposite, a social Discredit which detracts from human satisfaction.
“Social Credit is not, strictly speaking, politics; but it is a policy; nor is it a religion, but it is applied religion, as engineering, for example, is applied science.
As a policy it has been particularly associated with technical proposals for monetary reform. The proposals are not the essence of Social Credit but arise because we live in a monetary economy. As a matter of fact money is a good example of Social Credit – faith in association.
If I board a bus and demand a journey, the driver will ask me to justify my demand. If I proffer him money, either paper or base metal, he will accept it and give me a ticket. If I have no money he will order me off. In the first instance my demand is effective and in the second ineffective.
I think it could all be summed up in Christ’s commandment: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. (There is an increment in the association)
It is certainly summed up in the commandment “Love one another”. You will find a “Social Credit’ library on the website: Australian League of Rights alor.org
Based on the Coran escathology, in earlier videos he predicted Nuclear war -between the western Empire of Evil and its minions and the east, Russia, Eurasia- in a few years, un the last ones, he says it will be or can be within one year.
The concept that the small Zionist state in order to excercise Pax Judea, need a smaller world -done via nuclear war- so it can controlled by them, seems correct idea. In his exposition he does not take into account other power centers that could would ensue after a west-east nukewar like India, Japan, Brazil, Australia, Southafrica, Siberia aside of ocean transit points like central america who could excersise a certain degree of power too.
If it ever comes to nuclear weapons, it will be a Mexican standoff. Not only are there the big two, but there are also third parties. Only ex post mortem will it be possible to determine –if even then– who started what.
Sheikh is a spiritually blessed man. He has a tracked record of never standing for oppression.
As for Islam and mekkan quran, send us your references where it was granted or promoted cruelty against orthodox christians. Maybe its your own interpretation!!!
In saudi-arabia, still to this day there is a huge population of orthodox christians (not saatanic roman church). Moslems and christians have lived peacefully in that regions for 1500 years now. Muhammad never forced converted orthodox christians in southern arabia. If that would have been the case, there would have been no orthodox christian in arabia. I have lived with orthodox christian families in our rural town of buhara in saudi arabia for many many generations and we have never had any issue at-all. They never interfered in our matters and we never interfered in their issues.
Before 1924, when middle east was not divided by western powers, the orthodox christians family from southern arabia and yemen used to travel to palestine and egyot for pilgrimage and other festivals and moslems provided them security of their houses, belongings and travel. This was a world just a 100 years ago.
Off-topic, but relevant to the topic of this site:
Coursera is offering a course called Understanding Russians: Contexts of Intercultural Communication.
Cheers,

Thanks Marco, I checked it out and it looks impressive. I have registered. :)
Thanks, Saker.

I totally agree with your comment ddsa. thanks. And the Zoroastrian and Egyptian too.
The main difference between the genocides between the two testament is that the genocides in the new (e.g. Matt 2:13-23) is that it is committed by those outside the kingdom.
@ddsa,
I agree with you 100%. Personally I reject the Old Testament. Too bloody, too vengeful. … it is not the Christ’s Way.
For those tempted to criticize what I just said, for me the New Testament is the only one that counts. It’s my right and it’s what I have chosen to do.
Regards,
Camel by the Sea
sorry master, I’m not quite clear what you’re saying?
Anyway, thanks for nice discussion everyone.
Ann, if you want to know what is and what islam is not, read about islam and not comments here, these are not experts in islam.
Salam Sister Ann,
Where to start with you on this.
Eli, eli, lama sabachthani
Eloi, eloi, lama sabachthani
Best regards,
Mohamed.
There is enough about it to be found in internet.
anon, as you have not named the person you’re directing your comment to…its not easy to understand.
Can you give example of verses contradicting each other in Quran?
mr chahra .the best thing is to learn a new thing..learn quran why not
His lectures are all on Youtube and you can find the exact versus in these lectures.
As for the people who regularly follow his videos….we already know the verses and the analysis by heart.
The quote you ask is in his lectures available in you tube channel, so just look at it..
His methodology is what makes different from mainstream scholars..
Salam the master,
And, again where to start with you too.
Best regards,
Mohamed
Salam Sister Ann,
Where to start again.
Best regards,
Mohamed.
thanks Mohamed, I read your comment. Interesting…your wife is from Dixieland…nice…now a Shia…wow…good for her !!
Are you originally from Iraq ?
Salam Sister Ann,
Born and raised in Oman. For generations been in Oman, which used to be part of Yemen once.
Best regards,
Mohamed.
Peace.
Bravo!

Wonder what this is code-speak for saying?

Or is it all part of a well thought plan?
which Pepe article was that Charles Fasola ?
http://article.wn.com/view/2015/10/15/Vladimir_Putin_calls_US_weak_on_Syria_as_Russia_talks_are_sh/
Horse . . . hmmm.
you think Putin is going there?
Dunno . . . Doesn’t sound putinesque. Especially since . . . Well, I’ll stop right there!!!
Katherine
““oatmeal for brains”
It is a Russian saying – kasha for brains.
The translation might be better rendered into English language context by “porridge for brains”.

I just hear he’s speaking English
I wonder what those three are truly working on.
Wondering what planet you’re on. Or do you believe that because the west has chosen the dark path, the whole world has?
I just would love to know what their end game is.
Salam,
I fully agree. I predicted this on the Old Saker Blog, that both Obama and Putin are in cahoots. Poor, poor Netanyahu…..
Best regards,
Mohamed
sorry, can’t believe that. So what happens, if this is true, when Obama is replaced ?
Salam sister Ann,
I believe that the Deep State will continue with Obama’s policies.
Best regards,
Mohamed.
How can you expect anyone to take you seriously?
Salam Anonymous,
The Tribe plans and God Plans. God is The Best of Planner.

Salam BRF,
Sorry to disagree with you. No, we are not made in God’s Image. His Image is Good and Perfect.
We like every creation are creation imperfect.
What a person does between 4 walls, it is their and God’s business. What a person does out in open, then it becomes the community business. This applies to all kind of sex, as we are not animals.
Best regards,
Mohamed
Try studying some biology. The only thing humans have that other animal life on this planet does not is language — and that does not mean they cannot communicate.
Salam Anonymous,
I didn’t claim that animals cannot communicate with each other. They try to be discreet about sex, but sometimes it out in the open. What I was saying that it is some humans who are not discreet about sex, and then it becomes the business of the society.
Best regards,
Mohamed.
Animals don’t have free will, we do.
In my opinion, eschatology engenders self-fulfilling prophecies.
Thank you Saker. Thank you very much.
Salam Brother Grieved,
Well said!
Best regards,
Mohamed.
All the major religions are mostly the distillation of centuries of political manipulation and military action.
Salam Everyone,
The more I listened to the above Sheikh Imran, the less I respect him. Why?
Enough said,
Mohamed.
Salam Anonymous,
Thank you for calling me a Christian.
Best regards,
Mohamed
Thank you Readers
Salam Anonymous,
“The only thing I can say is that the Koran gives some protection for Christians and Jews.
Do you?
Talk is cheap,
Mohamed
Dear Mohamed,
Frankly speaking and so sorry to say, you need to educate yourself further.
removed – no personal attacks. Mod TR. You seems do not understand the Qur’an and world history well enough.
Your attitude do not represent a true moslem.
Just a kindly reminder.
Regards.
anon, for a reader of this dialogue I have to say that at least Mohamed has a name…so that I know its him that is saying things, each time he says them….anon – all of them – are just fog….

Salam Anonymous,
Well said! :)
Best regards,

How do you percive his idea?
If it ever comes to nuclear weapons, it will be a Mexican standoff. Not only are there the big two, but there are also third parties. Only ex post mortem will it be possible to determine –if even then– who started what.
