The current hot war of words regarding Nancy Pelosi’s announced visit to Taiwan is reaching a dangerous nexus and threatening to spill over into military action.
China considers this belligerent approach as a threat to their stated One Country, Two Systems policy as well as a threat to the 1992 consensus. The two sides of the Taiwan Strait reached the consensus in 1992 that “both sides belong to one China and will work together toward national reunification”. It defines the fundamental nature of the cross-Strait relationship and lays the political foundation for its development.
Taiwan is being used as a casus belli (an act or an event that either provokes or is used to justify war) in the very same way that Ukraine was used and is currently used. A war of media, tremendous even brutal propaganda to their own citizens to paint the enemy as evil to justify their own actions, continual accusations using a human rights platform, and doubling down! We see fantastical accusations that Huawei equipment sitting atop poles is spying on the US, China is infiltrating the US Fed, and in professional statements and documentation, China is the second biggest enemy of the US. The latest are threats to attempt to impose sanctions on Russian oil supplies to China.
The trajectory is exactly the same toward China, using Taiwan as the hot button, as what we observed during the run-up to the Russia SMO with the Ukraine as the hot button. It is:
blatant and intentional provocation and total denial of International Law.
Another point of convergence is that while professing ‘support for Taiwan’ (the very same as for the Ukraine), they are actually harming Taiwan (the very same as for the Ukraine).
A short history of the current dangerous brouhaha is:
- Nanci Pelosi announced a visit to Taiwan in April, and China said NO! Pelosi developed Covid.
- During May, June and July, timeframe, the US announced a 5th sale of weapons to Taiwan and China delivered strong demarch on the US to cancel this. There was also a continual stream of US dignitaries and ex-dignataries e.g., Pompeo, visiting Taiwan in some or other professional capacity
- Pelosi announced a new visit to Taiwan in August,
The Chinese are not simply saying no, they have handed this matter to their Military. Whereas their foreign office spokesperson comments, we now get the commentary from the Chinese military spokesperson.
Our army will not sit idly by if U.S. House Speaker Pelosi visits Taiwan, will take decisive measures to curb foreign interference – Chinese Defense Ministry
The Taiwan question is the most important of China’s core interests. Safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity is the bounden responsibility of every Chinese, and no one, force or country should dream of separating Taiwan from China – Chinese SC & FM Wang Yi:
- The latest is that US President Biden & China’s Xi Jinping will hold bilateral talks today amid this crisis because the Chinese see this as a direct assault on One Country, Two Systems, as well as the 1992 consensus between China and Taiwan.
If Pelosi tries to visit Taiwan, the Chinese will respond militarily.
Asked to comment on a recent Financial Times report which suggested Beijing would respond military should the speaker of the House visit Taiwan, China’s government confirmed the contents as true.
“We are seriously prepared,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said in regards to the article.
“If the US side is bent on going its own way, China will take strong measures to resolutely respond and counteract. The United States should be held responsible for any serious consequences,” the official added.
We do not know what kind of military response, but at the moment, the American aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and its strike group, including a guided missile destroyer and a guided missile cruiser, set out from Singapore on Monday heading northeast towards the South China Sea, according to ship-tracking information provided by Beijing-based think tank the South China Sea Strategic Probing Initiative. The US military has not disclosed its final destination, but the route would bring the carrier group to the Taiwan Strait if it continues in the same direction.
The US administration fears that China could introduce a no-fly zone over Taiwan ahead of a possible visit by Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to the island to disrupt the plans of the American side – CNN
These provocations are a threat to the whole world, as are the provocations to Russia. Yet, the US and its cronies have failed to overthrow Hong Kong, they have failed to create an economic disaster in Xinjiang to destabilize this crossroad on the Belt and Road, and they failed in the Tibet Autonomous Region which is now a thriving region with no abject poverty or slave ownership of serfs and with protected religious and social mores, they failed the Trump trade war, and they will fail in Taiwan. They are failing in Latin America, they are even failing in Panama to safeguard their neoliberal democratic ‘free world’.
While failing everywhere, they live in virtual reality and most seriously believe that the world belongs to them.
“China will not allow “sanctimonious preaching” or bullying from foreign forces, and anyone who tries “will find themselves on a collision course with a steel wall forged by 1.4 billion people”. Xi Jinping:
Taiwan is a distraction and a belated and hopeless but dangerous attempt at ongoing relevance from the US.
Caitlin Johnstone epitomized their dilemma: Russia: Don’t cross our red lines in Ukraine or we’ll take action. US politicians: They’re bluffing. Cross those red lines. *Russia invades.* China: Don’t cross our red lines in Taiwan or we’ll take action. US politicians: They’re bluffing. Cross those red lines.
We wait to see the outcome and it will be China’s national reunification with its recalcitrant province on China’s terms, not imposed terms. Bear in mind that Taiwan is not a candidate currently for independence. The current government does not dare to call for a referendum as 75% roughly of Taiwanese will vote for remaining with the Chinese mainland.
China Daily reports: For National Reunification we are willing to go to war.

Here are some actual historical facts from Nathan Rich:
Finally, Russia and China will coordinate actions. Today in Uzbekistan:
god sakes man, when the hell can i live a normal life. Do these americans know what there doing?
I guess this is what they call the “new normal.” See Brave New World, 1984, etc.
I don”t know how much of this is wef trying to speed things up or the dems trying to get a war on before the midterms, in the mistaken belief that in times of war we’ll cling to incumbents.
At some point, hopefully soon it will become a choice between justice & retribution.
I’m a beginner gun owner & lousy shot, so prefer the former.
is there even a point to living? like jesus i dont want to be a slave
To dman
Being a slave is one level. What they want to do is install chips in you and then control you via 5g, 6g technology. Remember their 2030 slogan? You will own nothing and be happy. The happy part will be from their control of your biology. One technology that is already here is medication containing a chip that gets activated in your stomach and sends out a signal to them to register compliance. This is heinous evil beyond imagination.
We gotta fight dman. We gotta organize and act as one voice.
You got it right, “we have got to fight”…but remember these human evil are not acting alone. They are in communication with the more evil invisible world of Jinns…another creation of God Almighty that has been given free will.
Also, don’t forget God Almighty is the Master Planner. His evil agents (Jinns, AntiChrist and Gog and Magog) have a major role to play in endtimes.
That is to test our faith in God Almighty and stick with HIM through thick and thin.
After the tribulations a Just World Order will be established with Prophet, Messiah Jesus (peace be upon him and his Blessed Mother Maryam).
The forces of Evil will be so overwhelming as we reach climax of WWIII that without faithin God Almighty we can’t get through it.
As the reason for lawyers is the destruction of justice, the professional politician’s job is to deny anything like retribution, or its angry drunk and hysterical sister — revenge.
Mary, practice makes perfect. You should look into formal firearms instruction. Front Sight in Pahrump NV is a great place for beginners, but there are lots of options. It’s all about muscle memory.
My personal goal, however, is to ride out the collapse of society without getting into any gunfights.
So don’t neglect stocking up on nonperishable food, identifying a remote defensible hideaway with permanent water, and acquiring a vehicle that’ll get you and your supplies there. It can be on public land: In the circumstances we’re discussing, officious park rangers are unlikely to be a nuisance.
I qualified for concealed carry. Just my essential tremor makes me dangerous to innocent bystanders, lol.
.Besides, if I was a great shot I wouldn’t advertise it. Better to surprise.
Better to go with a modern crossbow – not dependent on specialised gunpowder 😵💫
Even better – fight for peaceful co-existence.
Question to you, good ol rebel: Who controls your driver license, car registration? What happens when you need gas or supplies? Who controls your cbdc’s?
It’s all WEF. I don’t know what to make of the myopia on this site where otherwise intelligent commentary is marred by the seeming lack of realization that the US has been cannibalized by a Davos junta, based in the EU and effectively at war with the US.
Completely nutty comment. The US is now (with the craven connivance of the EU) in the process of destroying Europe’s economy by means of sanctions on Russian energy supplies.
dman, the answers to your questions, in order, are ‘I don’t know’ and ‘no.’
We Americans … I mean, the people we’ve allowed to seize, as well as much of the electorate … don’t have a clue.
As Amarynth notes, US officials operate very much in a sort of virtual reality. That’s what happens when an intellectually lazy, ignorant and / or mentally unstable populace allows sociopaths and perverts to accumulate vast ill-gotten wealth; promotes them to positions of immense power, then lets them use that power to dismantle the rule of law and disable any mechanism of accountability.
Mentally unstable? In 2019, 16% of Americans took psychotropic medication. A disproportionate number of these are political ‘progressives,’ the ones with Ukronazi flags on their social media profiles. I’m certain the number is much, much higher now, after the Covid fear-mongering and lockdowns.
When I talk about the sociopaths who rule us, I’m not talking just about elected officials, but also about our tech and other corporate oligarchs. Our rulers utterly lack self-awareness. They are Marie Antoinette, twerking about in the empress’ new clothes, demanding we all ‘eat cake.’ Yet there’s not a Jacobin mob or a guillotine anywhere in sight.
It appears little different among the other western allies.
As the Caitlin Johnstone quote alludes, these people are perfectly capable of sleepwalking us into WW3.
Like any of us have any say in this shit.
Until the ones planning, pushing and financing these chaotic operations are personally made to pay for them, then nothing is going to change. You can’t reason with a psychopath, you just need to make it understand that it’s own personal well being is also on the line should they decide to carry out their plans, then you wait and make the first one who crosses the line pay in the most complete and brutal fashion imaginable, and you leave the results on the ground in front of the rest as an example.
Do we know what we’re doing? Yeah, we’re trying to survive. What the hell are the one’s on the other side with the power doing?
Nice Sam. Exactly right.
Agree completely. I remember a few scenes from the movie “Michael Collins”.
Don’t worry. These are the last donkey kicks of a dying American era.
Those things happen when the political interest is only in the next elections.
Now, the USG is only good for threats and destruction.
Whether at home or abroad.

It is funny, with which double-standards some authors on thesaker are published. In the donbass, the people are allowed to decide, that they don´t want to belong anymore to Ukraine, and in my eyes, I can understand this and it should be their right, to hold an referendum, if they want to belong to Russia or if they want to be an own “country”, because they don´t feel represented by the Kiev-Ukraine-government (same like with Crimea). But with the Taiwanese people it is different, they are not allowed to stay independant from China, the author is phantazising, when he calls for 75 % of taiwanese people want to belong to China and a referendum is not wanted by Taiwanese government. Is this statement a bad joke or is he living in phantasy-land ? I guess, if you would ask the people of Tibet or the other minorities (the Uiguren), which are surpressed by chinese KP, they wouldn´t answer “we want to stay with China”. So if it fits, referendums are good, if not, they are bad. That is the same double-standard-shit, the most writers and readers are always blaming the “western countries”.
Lol!!! What absurd logic!!! If the majority were for independence, don’t you think the rulers would have already held one (or more) referendums???? Consistency for you is a country more than 10 thousand km away (which has nothing to do with the history of the Chinese people) interfering in your internal affairs!!!???? Again: Lol!!!! J. Fernandes
Your logic is funny, since when do rulers take care, on what their people want ? :-))) You cn be sure, taiwanse government does not do anything, to provoke chinese government. Did the rulers of any european country asked their people if they want to belong to the european community ? Do you remember the results ? I remember a referendum from the bask-people for souveranity… hmmm, what was the result ?
Your knowledge of the China-Taiwan situation is below the minimum level required for a cogent response. The giveaway is that you claim that China provoked the situation. This is untrue — it has always stood for the status quo (one China policy) with peaceful reunification.
I’ve no opinion on the Peace of Westphalia (1648) as I’ve not seriously studied the historical context. You would be wise to opine on subjects that you have studied.
Regarding the “referendum for bask-people” (sic), it’s odd, but I recall that the Basque regions attempted referendum was quashed by the Spanish Supreme Court and never held. Not only that, the head of the Basque government was prosecuted for having the gall to lead such an effort.
You may have meant Catalonia. Spain almost went to war with Catalonia to stop their referendum. In fact civil guard forces entered Catalonia to stop the referendum under Operation Anubis. Despite Spains actions, or maybe because of their harshness, the referendum passed with over 90% support of those able to vote. Spain cracked down with force, suspending Catalonia’s parliament and its autonomous status. Several of their leaders were charged with trumped up politically motivated charges (rebellion, sedition) and fled into exile. They found no support in EU nations; the Catalan Pres. Puigdemont was arrested by Germany for “rebellion” charges filed in Spain. Heads of Catalan regional police were convicted of sedition for helping the vote to be held.
The EU was fine with all of that.
As to your rhetorical question of other national voters being asked if they wanted join to the EU, I vividly recall many of those countries voted No. Ireland voted no. France voted no. Denmark voted no. Norway voted No.
Twice. Same as Switzerland; . The last two are the only countries where the ruling elite didn’t circumvent the popular will so they are not in the EU. Yet.
The vast majority of formal decisions to join the EU were by legislatures, not by citizens deciding via popular referendum. With the history of citizens rejecting EU treaties on accession when given the chance, it’s easy to see why they were bypassed. The rulings elites always said yes.
It’s no wonder why the EU is an anti-democratic leviathan.
theres always Slovenia that voted 3 times in national referendums, NO to same sex marriage but the government enacts it anyway. i guess they just gave up on bothering to spend the campaign $. EU values and all
Da muss ich sagen Applaus,Applaus.Gute Arbeit !
I have to say applause, applause. Good work!
The knowledge about China, and Taiwan is very shallow.
Taiwan has a referendum law and they hold referendums I think every second year. The last one was to my knowledge at the end of last year, with four questions – one about pork imports and the other about some water facility and one about the dates of future referenda. I forget the 4th one.
The government failed in all of those four questions.
A simple search can give you the information.
The two Donbas (now) Republics held referenda, so did Crimea. The two republics at the time voted to stay with the Ukraine, but with independent laws and regulations. Solid International Law.
I like referenda and they should be used everywhere frequently. What I am saying is that the DPP, even with their system of referenda, has not asked the question at all because they know they will lose.
What people also do not understand is that the 1992 consensus is a stand-in agreement, because China and Taiwan are legally still in a state of war – a war which China won against all odds. There is no peace agreement. It is only that consensus that makes the war ‘frozen’.
The reason, the DPP hasn´t asked this question, is the answer could be understood by chinese KP as an agression or an ground for an invasion and not, that they are feared of the “wrong decision” by their people. The people of taiwan won´t be ruled by chinese kp, why is this big doubtable ? They have more rights under their government, the country is rich and the thinking is different from the chinese kp. Do you want to tell me, that the south corean people, if they would be asked, to get re-united and ruled by north-corean-regime ? They also live in a frozen war, but that doesn´t matters in the way, people of both states are thinking differently…
As you have added the Korean issue to the topic, i have to point out that indeed, nothwithstanding the bad image that North Korea has outside of the peninsula, IF there was reunification (where there was NO interference from outside), and a popular referendum, the South Koreans would want reunification on North Korean terms. This assertion might seem strange, considering all the western propaganda made against North Korea but there are solid reasons for stating this:
In no particular order of relevance:
– The North Korean leader is part of a dynastic lineage and cultural tradition, which is respected by all Koreans.
– The North Koreans are only repressive within their state, due to the extreme external pressure applied by the US Forces presence. If you have a predator close by, you want your population on-side. Once that predator evaporates, you can relax.
– The Korean War ended in a Truce, an Armistice. North Koreas performance in defending the whole peninsula against the external predator, is recognised by the South Korean population.
– South Koreans know extremely well that North Koreas nuclear weapons capability is directed solely at taming the US presence in the region and absolutely not aimed at ROK.
– Naturally there is a strong successful business community in ROK which pulls the country towards US interests but the actual number of ‘beneficiaries’ is low and with waning US influence this small community of business people will be pragmatic and accept the new realities..
– The vast majority of ROK workers feel over-abused by the workload.of working for low wages for foreign corporations.
– ROK has a solid industrial base with strong expertise in upstream technologies. North Korea has vast wealth of natural downstream resources and rare earths as well as nuclear weapons capability which would then be more available to the South. Win-Win…
– South Koreans are naturally socialistic. it is in their culture but for the most part repressed by the feudalism imposed from outside. They understand the North Korean mindset and with reunification the best of both systems would be negotiated for the benefit of both societies. One can see this process of combining the best aspects of the socialist and capitalist systems, at work within Russia and China for example. Vietnam is another…
– There is no reason to doubt that South Koreans and North Koreans are a mature people who would wish to make the best of a new unified and Sovereign Korea.
– Naturally one can cite the social stresses which continue to plague East and West Germans after their reunification but Asians have a different mindset. The buddhist, confucian, taoist cultural history will ensure a faster merging of interests.
– Contrary to all the propaganda, the North Korea leader showed he understood the geopolitical ‘game’ extremely well and played it out in a manner that earned respect by VVP and the Chinese.
– Both China and Russia give solid backing to North Korea and would welcome reunification on North Korean terms, ie where the US is ejected from the South…
Thank you for this view of the 2 Korea’s
Can you tell us more or where to look for good info. I lived in Taiwan and the ignorance in the US is incredible!
watch the video again if you have not. Both ROC and Taiwan agree that they are one country, your views do not matter!!
The point is that the USA should stay away from any problems out of her borders. We saw numerous catastrophies as a result of US interference. We saw no honesty and justice in American solutions. China – Taiwan is Chinese – Chinese problem. Did Americans invested some money in Taiwan? Yes. Be sure that united China will not steal it.
P. S. Does China or Russia support Texas separatists?
They know they would lose such a referendum because the people living in Taiwan don’t want to go to war with China, not for a “independence” that doesn’t actually exist anyway..and this is a KIND of referendum anyway. China, like Russia knows who is really pushing this issue and like Russia, not wanting to prosecute a war against the people of the Ukraine, they are loathe to begin a war against the people of Taiwan..But like Russia they absolutely will if finally forced to, and like Russia they will win.
For some reason, you remind me of Vietnam when they too were asked to vote on which side they preferred to stand by and when the U.S. came to the conclusion that their side the South would lose they created an incident which led to the war in Asia that took millions of lives not counting all the lives of the Americans, and it appears they didn’t learn a thing from the mess they created.
I don’t remember China slaughtering Taiwanese people for almost a decade, or Beijing being overrun by the Asian equivalent of Nazis who view Taiwanese people as “genetically worthless” (that’s a quote from a Ukrainian pundit) subhumans.
A recent poll said that over 95% of Taiwanese people either want a unification with China or for the status quo to stay in place, only a tiny percentage actually wants independence, which is nothing but an emotional fairy tale for miserable, happy-end chasing ignorant idiots in the west. Independence from your biggest trade partner and neighbour would only bring poverty and misery over Taiwan, even if desired, it’s a horrible destiny to choose for ideological, not practical reasons.
Crimea held 2 referendums, one in 2014 and one in 1991, the outcome was the same. Another thing, Ukraine has had no seperate history from Russia for over 1000 years. The word Ukraina literally means “region at the border”.
“Ukraine has had no seperate history from Russia for over 1000 years”, what is “seperate” history? You decide when history is seperate enough? It’s enough that people in a certain region feel their traditions don’t match with their current “rulers” and want more representation, so they demand more rights or independence. United States also didn’t deserve independence because they shared history with UK? In other words “people should stay occupied by some kingdom because they share history and traditions.”
Your argumentation is flawed.
Ukraine was a part of the Russian empire, the “Ukrainians” didn’t settle on the other side of an ocean for 200 years, it’s been a total of 30 years of open borders between the two, not much different from before.
The Ukies pretend like they are descendants from a race called the Ukrs, who taught the ancient Greeks their language and dug out the black sea. They also say they are the origin of white people.
Not to mention, I’d love to see the “tyranny” they had to endure from Russia.
Samuiman,
Go take a trip to either country and find out the reality! I am so sick of American and European idiocy on steroids! Having spent a great deal of time in both countries and read a little about Tibet, people like you make me embarrassed.
The Uighur People are doing great and are going to be a huge part of the Belt and Road
The Taiwanese people and the Chinese are cannot survive economically without China, and with out their Chinese families which they all have. Most flights leaving and coming and to and from China. Comments like yours show total ignorance of China.
Tibet has slowly come into it’s own with out slavery or indentured servitude. Read any old Himalayan climbing books and the reality of Tibet will come through. I know you read the NYT and WP so you know everything about China. Please do not come here and make a total fool of yourself, maybe find another woke hangout
My sisters brother in law is chinese, lived till 2015 in Shanghai, so I don´t have to read NYT to get information about China, I just can ask him or his brother (both are CEO´s). This “dependance” on China for Taiwan is one side of the medal, but ruled by chines KP is another, and I doubt it, as I´ve heard by a taiwanese girlfriend which studied here, that they want to be ruled by China… The Uighur people here telling another story, perhaps they play a good part after re-educated in camps… but not everybody likes this treatment. Your (removed, mod) last sentence you can keep there, (removed, mod) ;-)
You seriously have no idea what you’re talking about. Please research more before commenting on Taiwan.
Even Wiki will admit that Taiwan is just an island off the Chinese coast and originally populated by people from across the Straits in mainland China.
The current population in Taiwan did not spring from the earth and are indigenous sons of the soil as Native Americans. These people are descendants of the KMT party and their families who lost the civil war on the mainland retreated to the island of Taiwan, with the intention to use Taiwan as a base to reconquer China again at a later stage.
The Communists who won the 2nd Chinese Civil War in 1949 were about to liberate the island when the KoreanWar broke out and US used that as an excuse to militarily occupied the island to stop the Communists from liberating it. US forces left after the end of the Korean War and the Communists on the mainland offered to kick the can down the road as long as the KMT on Taiwan don’t declare separatism.
This is history. So do your own research.
Nice Surferket
Just 1 issue to remember there are indigenous people in Taiwan. They are actually Pacific Islanders they speak Taiwanese.
Incorrect, they do not speak “Taiwanese”, they speak “minnan” dialect, which is also found in mainland China.
The amount of “bensheng” ren or people who were living in Taiwan prior to the 1949 retreat were mostly Hoklo or Hakka, both of which came from China. Hakka people are just Han Chinese from the North who went South during a series of migrations.
I get so tired of hippie trippy dopers think that Tibet was better under the Dalai Lama and their extortionist BS. They just like the bumper stickers while they virtue signal their way through another bag of drugs.
I have long suspected the Dalai Lama is a CIA stooge.
He is nowt but a giggling poser.
I miss the old days with a water-pipe, some herbs, psychedelic music with bongo-bongo drums, meditating in the tundra together with Dalai Lama monks.
We were in a community together, an international community.
Those were the times where we were free and could shit everywhere and anyhow we wanted it, and in those days we were for peace and no war.
Today China has no smoking houses, only red marching in, a rice bowl a day, and thats it!
You have obviously only been listening/reading propaganda BS about both Tibet & the Uyghurs : It’s not very clever to comment without exploring both sides of the story. The West side is crude Propaganda.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sko0oEKoHk Tibet – The Truth [Official Film]
Tibet – if you have the romantic western mindset about Tibet, let’s revise that. Your knowledge most certainly comes from a book, movies, and a whole Shangri-La industry spawned in the wake.
Tibet was a dramatically brutal theocratic serfdom and never-ending debt peonage. Under the Dalai Lama in Tibet before China’s takeover:
• 98% of the population were serfs or slaves or kept in debt peonage.
• Disobedient serfs endured torture
• The 14th Dalai Lama’s family owned 6,000 serfs
• 95% of the population were illiterate
• In 2015: 0.52% were illiterate
• And in 2020: extreme poverty was eliminated in Tibet
Xinjiang: A Report and Resource Compilation ( Excellent in depth re Uyghurs etc )
https://www.qiaocollective.com/en/education/xinjiang
Based on a handful of think tank reports and witness testimonies, Western governments have levied false allegations of genocide and slavery in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. A closer look makes clear that the politicization of China’s anti-terrorism policies in Xinjiang is another front of the U.S.-led hybrid war on China. This resource compilation provides a starting point for critical inquiry into the historical context and international response to China’s policies in Xinjiang, providing a counter-perspective to misinformation that abounds in mainstream coverage of the autonomous region.
Curious, isn’t it? All these crocodile tears for the Uyghurs yet the men, women and children in Yemen and the Palestinians have been being butchered for years (and still are) yet there’s not a word of condemnation from any of these countries. Oh of course, silly me, the Yanks, we British and our pals are doing it, so that’s alright then.
The notion that the US, the UK and any other country has the slightest interest in the Uyghurs is laughable, because they don’t. They are simply using the Uygurs as a pawn to to stir up hate against the Chinese.
You have great points. Situation in Taiwan (where its suicide to join China for free minded people) is opposite to situation in Ukraine where it makes sense to join Russia.
And i also believe the saker community has a strong communist biais which we can see in the answer to your comment.
Nothing to see here.
If an old biddy can be used as a casus belli then we have truly entered the world of the surreal, where we deserve all the World War III we get.
She’s not any old biddy, she’s the political wing of the largest terrorist organisation on the planet, the US Deep State.
Yep, same as the German Lizard Queen posing as the Queen of England. Certainly not a harmless nice old lady.
Both are in control of very nasty terrorist organisations.
If Biden really wanted peace, he could revoke Pelosi’s passport. If he still has the actual power and wit to do anything.
Alternatively, short of shooting down her plane, the Chinese could arrest her when she arrives until the US agrees to take her back.
Discjockey Uncle Shmuel has begun changing tunes. Lowering the volume on the Ukraine disc and at the same time pumping it up on the China disc.
This is the same 45 record, just playable of both sides, at once.

The current administration is doing everything it can to try and get American voters distracted on other affairs. The Dems are currently in big trouble during the mid-term elections. What bothers me is how far will these idiots go before they start another war. Listening to our commander in chief he wants a new world order, and he wants to lead it, you cannot make this crap up anymore.
What bothers me even more is most Democrat voters think he is correct. Scary indeed.
To be fair Gordon, both party supporters would vote Sideshow Bob if their candidate for POTUS.
Doesn’t bother me. Especially when it’s the other way around, actually 75% against.
Add to that 100% Republicans, leaves you with 10% feeling sorry for a feeble basket case.
And who’d just as soon vote for their pet cat.
https://www.rt.com/news/559738-biden-2024-democrats-poll/
Yep Gordon
I have considered myself an activist all my life but I have stopped with the So called Liberal activist because they are fake. Or more likely feel good activist. Climate groups in the US talk big but will not talk about the largest polluter in the world! The US military with the complex attached! Everywhere there is a base or was a base their is massive contamination. Everywhere they practiced nuclear bombs is contaminated always on some indigenous land somewhere. Dead silence from the so called liberals. Anti war except for Russia China Afghanistan Iraq, Somalia, Haiti, Iran Syria Libya. Always some excuse why. From Burkas to babies being thrown out of incubators, color revolutions, and coups. The US Left falls for it all, will not speak to the people on the right and that means the massively corrupt government wins every time.
“The Dems are currently in big trouble during the mid-term elections.”
So? They’ll just be replaced by slimy poseurs who talk a lot of bunkum about “conservatism” while conserving absolutely nothing and supporting all the same policies as the Dems, as they have FOR DECADES.
Send Biden, Miley, Austin, Blinken, Sullivan, and Que Mala, too. A real show of power.
😁, ” que mala”
The two P’s, Pelosi and Pompeo are scum of the Earth and are trying to destroy it on their way out.
A pox on both their houses!
… longtrail…neocons/neolibs /khazarians think they own this world…and they own DoS for very long time….they love impose chaos/wars/bloodshed…..
The West’s provocations in Ukraine and in Taiwan exposed their underlying arrogance about their capabilities. They underestimated Russia’s strength and despised China’s strength.
The West cannot learn anything from their failures because its elites are mesmerized in narcissism and optics.
As loon as it is other people’s deaths, why should the West care. Only the West’s defeat can save peace. Only by calling the West’s bluffs can save the rest of the world.
Taiwan situation will be hot soon, unfortunately.
If there is somebody inside the Beltway with more than two functioning brain cells, please pick up the phone and ask the Pentagon whether it is ready to fight wars simultaneously with Russia and China, using real weapons and real armies.
McConnell said Pelosi would “lose face” if she refused to visit Taiwan after declaring she would.
Here I thought “saving/losing face” was an Asian concept, but this pure-blooded Anglo-Saxon McConnell is more Asian than me!
The world is radically changing and all the great congressmen of the “indispensable” nation can think of is whether someone will lose face or not.
Have you seen the Hag? The sooner she looses that face? It has been hacked to bits in pursuit of vanity so often it puckers when she farts.
She, and her handlers are too stupid to understand that, go or no go, she is going to loose face. So will the US. The Chinese have engineered that reality trap and the Yanks are walking right into it.
So, if the US violates a non-fly zone and escorts Pelosi with 50 fighter jets, what does China do? Presumably, China could take care of the carrier and jets with missiles from the mainland and/or their own jets but…
Maybe, maybe Pe lousy never did swimm in Formosa strait and she wanna cool off…..most of of americans would enjoy it…..
Maybe they’re trying to get rid of her?
If she is escorted in with 50 fighter jets…that’s called an invasion. China would be well within their rights to shoot them all down and to sink the carrier and escort ships that they flew in from.
Ma perché non istituire un referendum in cui i taiwanesi decidano liberamente e in autonomia se vogliono riunificarsi alla Cina continentale oppure salvaguardare la loro indipendenza.
For the US to build military bases on Taiwan?
why not….they are up to five officially in Syria and “developing” a sixth “garrison” further north in Syria……remember the military lied to trump about dismembering our Syrian presence…….but only had the one in Al Tanf when Biden took over…….
Rocket Attack Hit Large US Base In Northeastern Syria – Reports……………from todays southfront……….believe this is the “new” one
I believe that idea might be getting old already.
Both Trump and the present administration have already signed EO’s allowing TSMC, Samsung, and others rights to build CPU chip plants in the US, making TW irrelevant overnight. Here’s one article:

Right! Here’s another:

A US carrier group appears to be sailing into a barrel, like fish. If anything military starts like the Chinese have stated then the world will get to see if Chinese ground based and air force anti ship missiles can send that carrier group to the bottom of the barrel. As for Nancy Poopsoloosely, her name says it all, she is merely the shit the psychotic western “strategists” are flinging at the Chinese to test their resolve.
I don’t think that US thinks of Russia as an enemy, rather as a chess piece to contain/minimize EU and to distract from internal problems; but sees China as the enemy.
Distinction without a difference.
I’m wondering why military action — why not just put Pelosi in extended quarantine (no expensive ice cream, hair salon, English cable, or gourmet foods) until she requests permission to go home … then execute a well-covered media show of giving her a very nice present as they escort her onto the US bound plane.
If open warfare were to develop our method of extending military power into the region would be through our navy. While it has yet to be proven, currently it appears that China has the ability to sink naval vessels by the use of their hypersonic missiles. So, what do we do? See if they can sink our aircraft carriers when apparently they can? If we don’t use our navy our role in any war would be minor. If no vital interest is at stake, better to stay out of any military operation.
If it’s a binary choice between incompetence or devious designs by those in Washington who are provoking a response from China over Taiwan I’d go with a planned policy to see how far China will go. The US has nothing to lose at this late stage of it’s inexorable decline into the abyss. There’s nothing left, just the fiddling while Rome burns.
The US needs a galvanizing last throw of the dice for domestic political purposes and as a distraction for the public as the US economy gets worse by the day. Soon half the population will be living in tent cities.
All that would avoid China’s military response to Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan is a financial crisis that China could unleash, by revaluation of it’s gold reserves in Yuan, not the current fake surpressed US dollar price. This reset of a gold price in Yuan would instantly destroying the US dollar as a store of value, as the US dollar is backed by nothing. The global debt burden with derivatives is now almost four quadrillion or 4,000,000,000,000,000. It’s a number that only has meaning when extinguished, taking all prices of all assets to zero. The tangible assets will still survive but will be assigned a totally different value.
And against what is currency and debt devalued? Carl Menger, founder of the Austrian School of economics, was the first to explain that money is liquidity. And gold is the most liquid asset. Gold has been the reference point of value since the origins of money. It is against gold that a currency must be devalued to relieve debts. A currency has no intrinsic value, and a gold subsitute, such as the Yuan, exchangeable for gold, at a fixed rate, can function as a proxy for the underlying value, gold. China has plenty of gold and the means to transact commodities by Yuan settlement on the Shanghai Gold Exchange. Convertible contracts in a gold derivative like the Yuan would be the final blow to the US dollar and all currencies linked to the dollar; Yen; Sterling; and the Euro. Central banks in the West are already insolvent.
“The faith is lost. All with one impulse people rush to seize the gold itself as the only reality left — not only people as individuals; banks, also, and the great banking systems and governments do it, in competition with people. This is the financial crisis.”
– Garet Garrett, 1932
What is this “Taiwan” thing? Do they mean Eastern China?
You can look up a world map and see Taiwan is a island just off the Chinese coast.
Taiwan is one of the 23 provinces of China, situated on a rocky island just off the coast of the mainland.
Taiwan is where the ‘nationalists’ fled when MAO took over and won the 1949 revolution or civil-war
KMT was sponsored by CIA/OSS they flew in weapon/ammo over the hump from India to Kunming(CH) so Kou-Ming-Tang could fight Mao; But even KMT was just a ‘zelensky’ of his day, British/America had largely destroyed China 1800’s->1930’s, mostly with opium; Funny how today they’re doing same-same to USSA? Funny eh?
Mao was sponsored by Rockefeller financially, educated in Bolshevism by Harvard Medical school post 1908 in Shanghai, hooked up with ashkeNazis in 1920’s and developed Mao-Ism from Leninism; From 1920’s Sephardic ‘doctors’ assisted Mao on the battle field; Rothschild, Rockefeller all had same interests to rule the world, recall big-oil of that day became big-pharma of today.
MAO won CIA lost, the CIA was OSS, or UK more interested in traditional UK assets like Shanghai whorehouses, as 1880’s-1920’s shanghai was just one big-whore house ( think boxer-rebellion); Once mao kicked out the CIA/OSS they moved all OP to Taiwan ( whorehouses ), and some to Hong-Kong;
Same can be seen today in USSA, Sheldon Adelson became richest man in Israel running white-slavery whorehouses all over ASIA to MENA; Like old East-India company Opium gig, keep them hooked keep them on their backs keep the cash flowing.
Interesting is same time that MAO promised to END prostitution of Chinese women in CHINA, Castro made hte same promise in CUBA, and the same CIA pimps, moved their OP to las-vegas, because it was the site of the new area-51, op-paperclip groom-lake and the boys would need R&R
Crude statement removed … mod
“If Pelosi tries to visit Taiwan, the Chinese will respond militarily.”
The best way to get rid of a Wicked Witch is to drop a house on her.
Winner!!!!!!!
And you gave me something to feel a little better today
The mainland retaking of their island, Taiwan, can easily be accomplished without an invasion or widespread carnage / destruction. Just take out the main power substations with 50 or so missiles, and let them sit their in the dark for a couple of weeks…..without commerce, without communicatiions, without internet, without transportation. What would the globo-homo-schlomos do besides whine and bluster? Some kind of mainland-island accommodation would soon follow.
Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan represents the perfect opportunity for a false flag event to start war with China.
The role of the carrier group is to shoot down Pelosi’s plane and blame it on the Chinese.
The Democrats would turn Pelosi’s funeral into an election winning media event.
That’s a tough one.
An awful lot of us would thank China for sending Pelosi back to her maker.
Otoh, timing is everything. August is 3 months from November. We’ll be back to pissed about the economy long before then.
Your scenario could backfire into a win/win!
Good one! Sounds so real it’s spooky.
Trouble is, maybe everybody’s thinking the same thing…
Why doesn’t China send special emissary Sergei Lavrov if available to Taiwan to offer a dose of reality?
If the current top dogs running the island are oblivious to the cancer US spread globally then taking them out of the equation for the good of the whole is justified.
Excellent post, Amarynth. Also fantastic video by Nathan Rich. Many thanks.
As somebody who travels to China frequently for over 10 years, I know a bit of China and I have met many Chinese. I feel at home when I go there, and think the Chinese are really special. Thus, I can also say: yes, It’s OK to love China, and it’s OK to love the Chinese people.
Let’s hope reason prevail over boasting and obsession with hegemony as ways to preserve the status quo.
It is so nice to get notes from folks that know, instead of folks that respond and kneejerk and do not even know the state of their own terrible propaganda!
A good move would be for a Chinese fleet to make a “friendship trip” to Havana Cuba. And do a “freedom of navigation” cruise through the Florida Straits into the Gulf of Mexico. Then go back to China, and make a return trip every 3 months or so.While that would be expensive, the propaganda value in the world alone would be far worth the cost. And it might show the US that “two can play that game”.
US of Depravity is reduced to sending a walking corpse to instigate their shitty wars
many would cheer her demise
Shoot her down for all I care.
I think China should consider issuing a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) due to an impromptu military air defense exercise over the Taiwan Strait. This is in preparation for Vostok- 2022 that is scheduled for August 30 – September 5.
A NOTAM is recognized by ICAO (International Civil Air Transportation Organization) and can be declared for at least 8 months with flight Standards Approval
See: https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/publications/atpubs/notam_html/chap7_section_1.html
This is a form a legal “harassment” that doesn’t involve direct confrontation between the belligerent parties.
Wow!!!!!!!!!! I didn´t have a clue, very good stuff. Thank you.
Agree with entire assessment EXCEPT on the issue of Tibet.
Tibet is not/was not/will never be part of China.
No amount of marxist materialist “life has improved” propaganda changes the fact that a cultural ethnoc cleansing of Tibetans has been underway fir two generations. Tibet and Tibetan Buddhism can NOT ne separated without ripping the soul out of the people. China had precisely tried to do that.
TGL,
I’m afraid that, if a cultural/ethnic cleansing is happening in the Tibet as a consequence of China giving the Tibetan people social supporte, it is justified. If you go there (as I have been) and see the religious control/exploitation and the advantages that religious groups take over the rest of society, you would think that China is doing the right thing.
Disagree. I lived there for 3 years in the mid 90s. Lhasa.
Without doubt 99.9% of Tibetans oppose Chinese presence.
More importantly, Tibetans ARE NOT CHINESE. Different language. Different culture. It would be akin to China just invading Ulaan Batoor. Incongruous. Your argument is no different than the one Anglos make to justify their “improving” the lives of those ‘savage’ natives who practiced ‘slavery and cannibalism.’ Colonialist rationale 101
If one has not been to Guatemala, one would expect to see one single homogeneous people. The fact is far from that. A good example to take is a native group called Mam who congregates in one region north of huehuetenango. The language and costume are distinct from other groups in Guatemala. Ethnic communities can reside and live together in one political nation without problem. Just because Tibetans are considered as a minority group does not exempt it from the fact that it has had intimate historical relationship with Hans Chinese. Don’t believe that – well, go research the Tibetan language and see how much mutual linguistic intertwining in fact is embedded in it. If you put a Tibetan and a Mongol side by side visually most people would not be able to tell apart the two. In China there are 50 main minorities groups and historically they have been linked with the nation’s destiny. We are not talking about 100 years’ of history. Some are traced back far longer than that. Political entity is a human construct – it is not necessarily homogeneous. The fundamental fact is based on power projection and has nothing to do with reason or logics. However, a good dose of well being and harmony living under that political construct is a key of its success and sustainability. I believe the Chinese government has managed in this department quite well.
“intimate historical relationship with Hans Chinese” is not the same as “part of China.”
China’s political identities and boundaries themselves have evolved over the centuries. Tibetans do not see themselves as “part of China,” and never have.
A China with inconsistent historical borders and domain can’t suddenly march into a sovereign territory and just claim it. that’s colonialism. All the historical justifications are just revisionism.
The soul of the Tibetans may have a past history which is less than flattering. Dalai Lama was spiritual councellor for the mongols when the Venetian oligarchy was involved in bringing about the mongol invasion. There has been a debate about whether or not Marco Polo was a mythmaker but in the end his time as an advisor for the mongols appears to have been confirmed. And for Venice to act in the mentioned manner would not be atypical. Further this manner of causing division was transplanted to the british empire. And the anglosaxon empire has employed it to sever Tibet from China
More british geopolitical thinking:
“The British encouraged the Tibetans to prevent eco-
nomic development, and that not even a single road should
be built into Tibet. They wanted Tibet to be a buffer be-
tween the Raj in India and China, but, even more, to retain
its “traditional culture,” as a Shangri-la, the Valhalla of the
Nazis. When the Chinese came in, with development,
schools, hospitals, and roads, Richardson cried that, “a
heavy curtain has descended upon Tibet, a state of cultural
degeneration to which this whole people has now been re-
duced.”
This last quote from EIR
British Use Tibet Networks for War On China—Again
by Mike Billington april 11 2008
The faux Buddhism of Tibet, the enslavement of the people to a rich priest class – which being a westerner you are blind to and/or comfortable with. The Dalai Lama was a cancer on the Tibetan people. No amount of pot smoking will cause delusion to conform with a hackey sack patchouli outcome of unicorn farts and dread locks.
Not only did the Dalai Lama push the jabba dabba doo he also took a million quid off Keith Raniere’s NXIVM cult. Fauci has more credibility.
Colonialist logic.
Its not your place to save the Tibetans from their Buddhism.
If any religion is a cancerous blight, its the one that worships a bronze/iron age mythological sky god. Total and utter unreason.
I’ll take Nagarjuna over superstitious Paul the Apostle any day.
I’ll take Atisha and Asange with Nagarjuna. IMHO you are correct about Tibet. They are not Chinese. They are occupied by China. Of course, some people don’t see it that way but the majority of Tibetans do.
It’s a little like the USG and the idea that democracy needs to be spread by force. As much as I love China their government is just plain wrong on this issue.
Wrong. Tibetan is Chinese. “Chinese” is a term used to denote the collective group of ethnicities that live in the country. What you really mean is Tibetan isn’t Han which is the current majority. There are more than 50 different ethnicities in china.
It would be the same as saying black Americans aren’t Americans because they’re not Anglo.
“It would be the same as saying black Americans aren’t Americans because they’re not Anglo.”
Or like saying Native peoples or Indians aren’t American because they’re not Anglo. The question is how did the peoples of turtle island become American? See the difference yet?
Greifenberg,
Not sure what you are arguing here. Bottom line the term “Chinese” refers to a group of ethnicities that comprise the demography of China. Saying Tibetans aren’t Chinese is simply not correct.
Tibetans are dual lingual and have different culture from the majority just like the Latinos in Texas. Texas came under the control of the US under very similar circumstances. At least there’s historical precedence for Tibet being part of China in past dynasties whereas Texas was just straight up conquered from Mexico. You wouldn’t say Latinos Americans aren’t Americans either.
If the Han ever become a minority in China chances are you wouldn’t say they aren’t Chinese.
You know sweet FA about Tibet & you should refrain from talking about what you don’t know!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sko0oEKoHk Tibet – The Truth [Official Film]
As someone who has traveled around in Asia a fair bit and has close contacts with many people from both Tibet and Taiwan I can absolutely assure you that both peoples detest the CCP. The Taiwanese see themselves as Chinese – of course, cause they are culturally and ethnically – but they would fight and die for their independence from the CCP. Their military doctrine is built around guerilla war tactics as they know they won’t be able to stop a mainland Chinese invasion of Taiwan. And the only people who are thriving in the TAR are Han Chinese who have replaced and dispossessed ethnic Tibetans in most relevant positions of society. The CCP even appoints high lamas (religious leaders of the various Buddhists sects of Tibet). The CCP is a bane to humanity. If that is of any relevance to the situation at hand is of course a different topic.
That being said I fully agree with the opinion of the author: The US are playing a terribly dangerous game which will sooner or later lead to escalation.
We can of course only look at your language and understand clearly where you come from. It is not hard. CCP is not a word. Han Chinese displacing everyone is of course a western song. Sorry .. You talk propaganda and then you talk about ‘mainland Chinese invasion of Taiwan’. Yeah, let me counter – Taiwan is this little pimple of an island at the end of China. Like President Putin said .. No, China will not need to do anything to Taiwan, because … they don’t need to! Strange eh .. They do not need to!
Is the PCC you speak of the same one that lifted a few hundred million out of poverty (one of the greatest achievements in history)????? Wow, what a demon!!!!! (mockingly, obviously). Dear, get out of this (western) bubble!!! The real world tells a much more interesting story. J. Fernandes
I’ve also travelled around Asia a fair bit, and I too heard about how horrible China is, how it mistreats the uigurs, how it’s going to swallow poor Taiwan and Hong Kong, capture the Vietnamese Islands, and what inhumane brainwashing the Chinese schoolchildren have to go through.
The thing is though, I heard all of those things solely from American tourists, and in one case a fat feminist English girl who’d taught English for a few months in China. The actual Taiwanese, Hong Kong and Vietnamese people never said any of that.
Depends on which bubble you live in. Americans particularly have this capability to live in a heavy, thick clown world of complete lies, even as there is a living foreign country all around them that they fail to actually see or experience. The Americans will huddle together in one corner and make loud noises about how they had to put – again! – someone into a headlock in the night club toilet, or how they have a project of visiting McDonald’s in every country they go (no, I didn’t make these up), and they never notice that everyone is laughing or shaking their heads at them. And when the Americans do turn around and be “chill” with other people, it only works on the stupid ones, since anyone intelligent is going to deflect their attention and avoid having to meet them simply by pretending to be boring for a short while.
And when the Americans are gone, life and joy and colour returns to the room.
Jussie’s
That is well put! When I lived in Taiwan the expats american and uk were insufferable. They spent all their time at the america club. They had Nannie’s for their kids. They spent their vacations in Phuket in western style hotels and never ever really saw Asia they just saw their projection of Asia from the inside of a bottle. The teachers at the american and international schools new where to go what to see. It was because I taught and met some amazing people that I saw a massive amount of things and met and talked to people all over Asia. Asia on the whole is the best place to travel and explore culture and environment on a budget. In my quest for budget I ended up getting a hotel room for my daughter and I in the red light district when we walked out of the hotel to look for food it was pretty clear where we were lol.
I am so thankful today for this article I am so angry at my country I love Taiwan and China and I have seen the war museum in Vietnam and the horror they live with to this day, I do not want China and it’s Formosa to suffer because of my massively sick and corrupt country.
Hi Susan
I totally concur with you on the expats at the American Club (ACC) I used to work there in the 90s as well. Most of them don’t mix with the locals and treat their drivers and amal like dirt. They used to tell me that ” this is American club” whenever there was an issue. I always replied them ” yeap but still in China” That shut them up pretty fast.
I lived in Thailand for eight years and met many expat US citizens. Tourists I avoided generally, but occasionally encountered them and on a few occasions stepped in to stop their shit treatment of service staff.
Except for a handful, they all lived up to the stereotypes we all know. They just seemed to have a total disconnect to their surroundings.
I was thankful that only 10% had passports and of that most went to Mexico, Central & Sth America.
When I was in the US Air Force in the ’80s during the Reagan era the US was insanely jingoistic in public diplomacy while in actuality strategically ossified. It compensated by being tactically vigourous, with two separate covert structures that were adventurous but not terribly consequential and in competition with one another without any unifying structural coherence. Foreign policy was subservient to domestic politics.
We would mock the US Navy as particularly inconsequential strategically versus the enemies that counted, the Soviet Union and China, with the obvious exception of submarines strategic nuclear weapons, which were as unusable as Strategic Air Command’s missiles and bombers given the Soviet Union’s parity. Twice in recent history the nukes had nearly been launched, with a false alarm at NORAD’s Cheyenne Mountain in 1979 and the storied Soviet General’s resistance to the final escalation in the Urals in 1983 during miscommunicated NATO war games.
The joke was that the purpose of aircraft carriers was to give destroyers, cruisers and subs something to defend to justify military spending by the Navy because they were sitting ducks and absurd in the posture of mutually assured destruction.
Plus ca change.
The Yankee ass clowns just won’t stop until they provoke a 2 front war against real countries with real militaries. They delight in destroying weaker opponents who cannot fight back. Liars and cowards like the inbred limeys have the same delusional mindset. The mainstream media has built a wall of lies in the west and the people there receive zero truth. These psychopaths would rather destroy the world, than negotiate. Mabey a carrier strike group needs to visit Davy Jones locker to send a message to these satanic creeps.
I think most political and geopolitical analysts, most political and geopolitical commentators have missed something. They missed it because they assume that the actor who holds the levers of power in the United States is a fool who does not understand anything, who does not see the political, geopolitical and economic reality of the moment. This is perhaps why a simple hypothesis, but which can explain a lot of things, has not yet been examined by anyone to my knowledge. However, this is not a meaningless assumption since the CIA has recognized the foundations of this assumption in its strategy: namely that the world now has three poles of power: China, Russia, USA.
If we follow this logic, we can think that by having taken note of this fact, the USA is trying to reshuffle the cards in its favor in this context. One way to do this is to weaken your allies, making them true vassals, with the goal of securing their loyalty for the foreseeable future. It seems to work for Europe, facing Russia, with the Ukrainian conflict as a tool. So why not try the same thing for the Asian allies, facing China, this time with the Taiwan issue as a tool? This hypothesis is all the more plausible and probable since the giants of the South Korean industrial complex, for example, seem reluctant to follow the USA in their policy of containment of China (which is normal since it is their largest market). A major crisis in Taiwan would force the Asian allies to take side, so there needs to be a crisis… I would not be surprised in any case to see Beijing being forced and compelled to take military measures to resolve this issue, to the delight of the US, before the end of this year!
In any case, if I were the strategist leading the guy reading the White House teleprompter, and if my objective were to play the power game with the other two poles, i.e. to try to contain them by military, but non-confrontational means, it is the strategy following this hypothesis that I would adopt…
No one is gonna decide whether America must visit a country or not, no one.
If we wanna visit Taiwan or any other country on this planet with our Aircraft Carrier and its nuclear strike group, we do it when we wanna do it, how we wanna do it, and where we wanna do it, and nobody on this planet can do a shit about it and you know it.
To the extent that you believe what you just wrote, you are delusional. This is not the 1980’s any more.
Concealed behind its standard propaganda about “defending democracy,” America wants a 2-front war–firstly against Russia, now against China.
Ukraine and Taiwan are nothing more than cannon fodder countries/propaganda pretexts that Americans will hide behind to get their war.
This 2-front war will be the last war that the (former) “United States of America” fights. Ever.
Scott Ritter: ‘Two-Front War: Biden’s Mouth is Writing Checks the US Military Can’t Cash’
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIIoyh2LdCo
An empty drum makes the loudest noise. And China howls a lot about the hostile actions of the US et al. But, never backs this up with kinetic action. The US sees this and knows that China’s leadership is gun shy. And so keeps provoking, gleefully. China takes very aggressive action in the business sectors and is whuppin’ the Yankees big time. At some point though the US will just shame China for its loud mouth-no action reflexes.
And that is the point when the regime will need Russia to be backing it up.
Well John you are well advised to re study the Korean War removed.Mod., back then in the 50s the US was military supreme, but that did not stop the Chinese from kicking their buts big time!
There is a first time for everything. This time they’ve promised military action.
“…One Country, Two Systems”
Yes, but this agreement is from the past when China was not as strong as today. Is it what they still accept? It doesn’t sound like true sovereignty. De facto, they’re willing to respect the economic system of Taiwan and Hong Kong, but they now must want One Country only – true sovereignty – or they will. Taiwan needs to be realistic. It is not strong enough to hold off China indefinitely. The U.S. should take a more equidistant position between the two.
“These provocations are a threat to the whole world”
Speaker Newt Gingrich went to Taiwan in 1998, last time a major such figure went there (said he last night; by the way, Sec. Pompeo was hired these days as a “FOX Contributor” in some way). Gingrich agreed with China to go first to China, then to some other country, and only then to Taiwan. Could she do the same?
One more plan for a very detailed proxy war in the Pentagon think tank – RAND. Nobody needs to have doubts! Just consult. Almost out of date or if we prefer with a time window of 2 years because most likely in the next Taiwan elections there will no longer be a proxy government. Yes, the current DPP government is very likely the last US proxy government in Taiwan. That authorizes US troops on the island.
Where only 5% of the oldest still talk about independence. For now, what the overwhelming majority wants is to maintain the status quo. Like Beijing with excellent relations with the island. And we all know how patient China can be. She just doesn’t like being harassed and teased by savages like neocons. And even this status quo over time tends to adopt the same flag as the Continent. For a very simple reason, any young person in Taiwan now has more opportunities on the mainland. Where more than 1 MM already work every day. And I could recommend all the economic indicators of trade, but I find the shore of the island where almost the entire population of Taiwan lives to be more curious. If it were a boat, it would have already turned to the Continent. Which can only mean that they hate each other, right?
MIT itself already recognizes today that China leads a number of technological areas without the help of Musk! Namely the biggest technological revolution underway today, the Quantum Revolution. Which completely dispenses with what has always been the biggest Achilles heel of all Chinese technology. The microprocessors! See how China has never made a decent combustion car and in the electric car industry it already has 10 companies in the Top 20 today! The last technological revolution that the US led was Informatics in the Sec. XX. And at the end of the day, whoever leads communication leads the world. In fact, they relocated all production to China and what were they waiting for? The biggest threat to the US is not China per se but the new silk routes. By land and by sea! And it will be through trade – the only decent way – that China will be, in the very short term, the biggest economy in the world. If it isn’t already!
Hence also not realizing the need for so much history of the past in the video. Everything changes and in the meantime a new concept was born among peoples – self-determination. Validated by international law. And the people of Taiwan will eventually fly the PRC flag of their own free will. And China, which was a collection of colonies even 100 years ago, will finally integrate the last piece of the puzzle of its sovereign territory. China has not lost Hong Kong and will not lose Taiwan for nothing. Not with the US with all the terrorists in the region and its dozens of NGOs always prepared for another Color Revolution!
And if they tried any military operation, which they don’t risk in Ukraine, I think they would still get much more trouble in the China Sea. And nothing forbids it not even being part of a coalition! Even the great American Navy, the last great power projection of the Empire with its huge aircraft carriers, is now completely out of date in the face of Russia’s great missile industry! That sink an aircraft carrier anywhere in the world in seconds! It’s time for the US to dismantle the hundreds of military bases around the world that no one else has and go home to tend to their population. That should be the aim of all governments!
Can you provide a link to your claim that 75% percent of Taiwanese support reunification with China? I can’t find any such poll results; in fact, the opposite is being reported.
Extremely well said A-team!!!
Just one observation…
… perhaps the name Pompeo [one of the most disgusting neocons ever to inhabit the planet], and the word “dignitaries” should not appear in the same sentence.
Big cheers
Col
Thank-you Col! Always Good to see you.
Should have used the word ‘lice’ – lying lice!
This is the best the US has got to go to Chinese Taipei
Nancy drinks a whiskey drink, she drinks a vodka drink, she drinks a lager drink, she drinks a cider drink … LOL!

The hawks in Washington are very aggressive. They surely have a plan. Their objective is to destroy the Russian economy and the Chinese BRI as well as the commercial and political networks that Russia and China are developing in Asia, Africa and South-America.
The US plan is to create division. The US after all lives on that large pirate island called North-America and is immune to any retaliation as long as every other nation is reduced to submission.
Will the Sarmat have a word to say in that story?
US Deep State got itself into a deep pickle now. Almost whatever they do, they will come up as losers.
must be a distraction from the precipitous collapse of the US economy and US Dollar sooner rather than later.
falling empires in history resort to attacking others in the last days. Virtually a truism.
The last Ottoman Sultan, Hamid-Abdul II, invaded Bulgaria in the late 1800s and killed 30,000 Bulgarians, he also later slaughtered thousands of Armenians and Assyrians, leaving about 50,000 orphans
Well one thing is clear “Pelosi is a distraction”
Has anybody here asked one dumb question?
What exactly would this old washed up ho’ actually accomplish by even going there? It’s not like she’s a madame-halfbright, or a kissassinger.
IMHO its just a distraction, MSM keep her name in the news, and of course she’s got the J6 blues; Stock Market Chip constipation, and all kinds of problems +90 year old ho’s have to deal with.
Taiwan belongs to China, they’ll do as they wish. The ‘good stuff’ in Taiwan like TMSC and all the high-tech, was shipped over to mainland long ago; By the time anything transpires China would best set and trap.
Another tell-tale is ABE getting taken out in Japan, his nationalist killer non to happy about Jap boyz fighting in Taiwan on behalf of Biden, as promised to WEF, so now who exactly is going to fight the PLA, japs don’t want to?? South-Koreans? Flipinos? Vietcong? The Taiwanese boys quit martial arts +40 years ago and took up getting rich, nobody there wants to die.
For God’s sake, why doesn’t Washington mind its own business and tend to the matter of Puerto Rico if it must focus on issues of sovereign status within other polities. Should that mostly Latin island, administered for 120 years by Washington, become either independent or a state in our union with rights equal to the existing 50? Ukraine and Taiwan are on the other side of the planet from the US which has no jurisdiction in either place. Washington is NOT going to dictate the status of Ukraine’s multiethnic regional populations encompassing at least five distinct nationalities. Nor is it going to decree whether the island of Taiwan is an independent country and a puppet of the United States or whether it remains a province of China as it had been for hundreds of years–since before Europeans learned how to sail the world and intrude on other societies around the globe.
Excuse me – I gots to go take a Pelosi…
Pelosi is a hag. No regard for anyone nor anything but herself. 31 yrs ago, she ‘visited’ Tiananmen. She slipped her ‘guide’ and posed for a video with the head of CNN. She was escorted promptly out of the country. But, the head of CNN was jailed. Well, at least the head lived to see another day. But as the hag ages, her regard for others decreases ever more. This time, should she ‘visit’ Taiwan, how many people will die in the conflict she creates? Americans have degraded into the worst form of human slime in history.
A person can have a mishap, a wrong judgement. But a whole administration in a time span of days? Not so much.
This can’t come to any end without doubling down, and I don’t think it’s the chinese doing that.
Does it even come to mind at that promising young politician Pelosi, that she may well be thought of as a ‘sacrifice’? Won’t be the first time in the only indispensable abomination.
Oh dear.
Cheers, Rob
I remember when Nutty Nancy Pellosi was Miss Lube Rack 1956. I still have my copy of the callander. Speaker Pellosi still has a formidable rack. However; her rack is about one foot lower than it once was. Speaker Pellosi’s rack will keep her afloat as she swims to Taiwan after being shot down.
might be a distraction but would been nice to kill two birds at the same time
