Russia and the West are facing the worst crisis since the Cold War. According to US Special Envoy Amos Hochstein, Washington’s goal is to reduce Russia’s gas market share in Eastern Europe by 20% by 2020. Russia cannot be allowed to build a gas pipeline that would bypass Ukraine, as it would pose a threat to Europe’s energy security.
The USSR unilaterally withdrew its troops from Eastern Europe. The US unilaterally still occupies Germany and expands bases from where the USSR withdrew. And Putin’s Russian Federation is the threat.
Interesting thinking.
Of course, someone has to feed the leech which is the Ukraine, might as well be Russia and not the West.
What is laughable here is that the US wants Russia to build the Nord Stream – 2 gas pipeline using Ukraine, so that Ukraine can block shipments to Europe any time it wants. The second reason is that the pipeline would provide revenue for Ukraine. Well, the pipeline will be built, as Europe cannot function without Russian gas. Ukraine comes second in importance.
The *whole point* of Nord Stream 2 is to bypass Ukraine.

Geothermal heating is the way how many western and northwestern European countries have reduced oil consumption. The only problem here is however the need of electricity. In Sweden it’s about 6 000 kilowatt-hour per 120 m2 house of family of 4 members to make annually that system run well enough. To block Russian oil and gas one have to have electric supplies. Abandoning nuclear power plants have made things grim for Germans. Gazprom should be very thankful to European Green parties.
Excellent. Not only about gas.
Should be viewed by everyone.
Also, great aerials and other views.
Very impressive technology.
I had no idea the US sanctions BS went back to the eighties.
The Mattei case.

I work in the oil and gas industry and this docu was extremely eye-opening. A follow-up to is this about Bulgaria and their remorse for having walked away from the South Stream which would have greatly benefitted the country.

Beyond all of this though is the affordability issues popping up over the energy industry and the enormous amount of debt they are dealing with. I can relate, I see it everyday. Financially this can’t continue.
