As a British citizen I was both bemused and outraged at President Obama’s recent lecture telling us how to vote in the upcoming referendum on EU membership. It reminded me of a medieval feudal lord going to visit his one of his dominions and telling off his subjects and giving them a clear warning of what was expected of them. Since World War Two Britain has had this special relationship with the US during which the UK has been treated like a colonial possession by its American overlord.
Obama’s unprecedented intervention into the EU referendum campaign reveals how worried the Remain camp are at the possibility of ordinary people rejecting membership of the EU. The banksters in the City of London, in whose interests the Cameron government serves, have cranked up Project Fear and are using large amounts of black propaganda to panic people into voting yes to EU membership.
Over the last few months we have been repeatedly lectured and warned that to vote for leaving the EU would undermine the UK economy and cost thousands of jobs and lower living standards. The list of well meaning lecturers ranges from Mark Carney, the Governor of the Bank of England to the Confederation of British Industry and the Institute of Directors.
The British ruling class and its puppet masters in Washington are clearly worried by the British people having the temerity to say no to a transnational organisation that does not represent their interests but those of the multi-national corporations and too big to fail banks.
Before we proceed further. We should stop and pause and ask some fundamental questions regarding the European Union. Why was it set up? Whose interests does it primarily serve? Who benefits the most from the EU? Does the EU look after the interests of ordinary people in Britain?
Why was it set up?
The EU and its predecessors the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) and the European Economic Community (EEC) is an economic-political construct whose primary purpose is to serve the interests of the European capitalists. When the ECSC was set up in 1951 at a time of high inflation and monetary instability the French and West German capitalists had come to the conclusion that instead of fighting endless wars against each other they needed to cooperate if they were to fully recover from the effects of World War Two.
In a world where two opposing super powers were dividing up the world into spheres of influence the French and German capitalists decided that were was safety in numbers and latched on to each other as a means of rebuilding their shattered economies. The French and German capitalists were also haunted by the prospect of revolution which had threatened to sweep over many countries in Europe (France, Italy, Greece) when the war came to an end.
Not surprisingly, the USA gave its blessing to its vassal states coming together at a time of heightened tension during the early years of the Cold War. Remember both France and West Germany (a vassal state created by the Americans in 1949) were leading members of NATO (also created in 1949) an American military alliance designed to cement the domination of Western Europe by American imperialism.
Throughout the history of the EU and its single currency the biggest winner has been its strongest component which is German capitalism. Indeed many would argue that German capitalism set up the EU and the single currency as project to promote its export industry which has done exceedingly well from the single currency.
Democracy and he who pays the piper calls the tune
From the ECSC through to the EU there has been a social aspect to it which has led many in the European socialist and trade union movement to regard it as a progressive organisation that looked after the interests of ordinary people. The European capitalists facing a strong labour movement have decided to periodically give concessions to improve aspects of ordinary people’s lives. The working time directive limiting working hours to 48 per week is one EU initiative that is often cited as showing how the EU is a progressive force that we should support.
The EU is a fundamentally undemocratic organisation which is run by the 28 unelected Commissioners who have enormous powers over the economic, political and social development of each member state. The European parliament is widely regarded as a toothless body that merely rubber stamps legislation that comes from the EU Commission. The undemocratic nature of the EU is shown by the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) deal it is negotiating with American imperialism.
The EU Commission is currently engaged in top secret negotiations with the United States over TTIP. The vast majority of people living in the EU are unaware of this trade treaty which will effectively strip away national sovereignty from member governments.
Once signed TTIP will give incredible powers to multi-national corporations to challenge and sue national governments over any aspect of their laws that put barriers in the way of said corporations to make profits. This will have the effect of speeding up privatization of public services and have the effect of weakening health and safety/environmental laws. Under TTIP companies such as Monsanto will be able to overturn the EU ban on bee killing pesticides such as neonicotinoids and take legal action against the 19 EU countries that have banned the use of GMO seeds as barriers to free trade .
Various human rights groups warn how the EU has been accumulating a huge array of powers that are gradually undermining our civil liberties such as our right to privacy.
One of the prime objectives of TTIP is to open health, education and water services to American corporations. It will force the NHS in Britain to allow US companies to tender for contracts to run essential medical services at an exorbitant cost to the hard pressed tax payer. The Conservative government in the UK wants to privatize all 24,000 schools forcing them to become academies that will be forced into unaccountable academy chains. Under TTIP these academy chains will be open to take over by US education companies that will want to run children’s education for a profit.
Election of Syriza a turning point
The election of a socialist party Syriza in January 2015 in Greece on an openly anti-austerity programme was widely welcomed by millions of people across the Eurozone. It raised hopes that at long last the European Commission’s savage austerity policies would be challenged by a government not in bed with the too big to fail banks.
From virtually day one of its administration Syriza was attacked and criticized again and again by the establishment media across Europe, by the European Commission and its political acolytes in Germany. The Syriza government that was elected on a programme of stopping the calamitous fall in living standards was told in no uncertain terms that there was no alternative to endless austerity that had sent unemployment to over 25% of the workforce.
Syriza at first tried to resist the demands of the troika (EU Commission, ECB and IMF) for Greece to pay back its massive debts to the European big banks at the cost of cutting pensions, privatizing Greece’s natural assets and sacking thousands of public sector workers. The pressure became so great that Syriza called a referendum on 5 July 2015 on the terms of the troika bailout. This was unprecedented and had never happened before in the 40 year history of the Greek republic.
The Greek people responded with an emphatic rejection of the troika’s demands for endless austerity measures. Two thirds of voters said to no to the troika’s programme for destroying living standards and welfare provision.
The Nobel peace prize winning EU went into overdrive and hysterically demanded that the Syriza government ignore the democratic wishes of its people and accept the troika’s bailout demands or face ejection from the Eurozone and bankruptcy of the country.
In the face of gigantic pressure from the EU and all its member governments Syriza capitulated and accepted the terms of its unconditional surrender. The Greek government would receive rescue loans worth 82-86 billion Euros and in 2016 be forced to beg its funders for more money to pay its unpayable debts to the big European banks. This was to be accompanied by tax increases, pension cuts, public sector job cuts and the forced fire-sale privatization of Greece’s state owned assets valued at 50 billion Euros.
The leaders of the EU Commission and European Parliament had made it clear that they would do what ever it takes to bring the Syriza government to heal. Nothing and no one would be allowed to challenge the pro-bankster agenda of the European capitalist class. Even Paul Krugman, the Nobel prize winning apologist for Obama’s bailout of the Wall Street banks, was forced to comment in the New York Times that:
”The trending hash tag ThisIsACoup is exactly right. This goes beyond harsh into pure vindictiveness, complete destruction of national sovereignty, and no hope of relief. It is, presumably, meant to be an offer Greece can’t accept; but even so, it’s a grotesque betrayal of everything the European project was supposed to stand for.”
The EU supports America’s drive to war against Russia
One of the main justifications for the founding of the EU was the premise that by bringing together France and Germany in close economic and political union there could be no possibility of war in Europe again. How wrong they were. First of all we saw the savage Balkan wars in the 1990s which the EU did nothing to prevent.
More recently, with the onset of Cold War 2.0 the EU has gone along the American Empire’s unrelenting aggression against Russia. The coup d’etat that overthrew the corrupt yet elected government of Yanukovich was seen by American imperialism as an opportunity to increase its destabilization of Russia. The chaos that ensued released centrifugal forces in Ukrainian society that led to the re-emergence of neo-fascist forces that have been used as the battering ram to attack the Russian speaking regions of Eastern Ukraine.
The Odessa massacre of two years ago which was carried out by neo-fascist forces was never condemned by the EU for what it was: an act of mass murder against Russian speakers. This massacre can be seen as the starting point for the bloody civil war that has raged in Ukraine for the last 2 years. It helped bring about the creation of the Donetsk People’s Republic and Lugansk People’s Republic as Russian speakers sought to protect themselves against ethnic cleansing and racist violence.
The EU has responded to the break up of Ukraine by enforcing a series of economic sanctions upon Russia and Novorossia. These economic sanctions are clearly aimed at destabilizing Russia leading to the overthrow of Putin’s government and go hand in hand with NATO’s increasing military presence on Russia’s borders.
The EU and and its failure to uphold Human Rights
The EU seeks to promote trade and counter-terrorism deals with countries such as China and Saudi Arabia that have terrible record on human rights. Meanwhile, the EU seeks to stem the flow of refugees from the war torn Middle East by illegally deporting them en mass to Turkey which has an appalling record on human rights and protecting refugees.
Amnesty International recently savaged the EU response to the migrant crisis which has been created by the disastrous military interventions of American and British imperialism into Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria. Iverna McGowan, head of Amnesty Internationals European Institutions Office said that:
”As the world’s richest political bloc, the EU completely failed to come up with a coherent and humane response to the refugee crisis. … the thrust of the EU’s failing refugee strategy remains focussed on keeping people out, rather than providing the safe passage to Europe that could save thousands of lives.”
To compound matters the EU is turning a blind eye to human rights violations in its own back yard.
In both Hungary and the Czech Republic the Roma people face open racist discrimination which the EU has failed to deal with.
The EU is completely failing to live up to its grandiose promises of being a guardian of people’s basic freedoms at home and abroad.
In summary, the EU is a bosses club designed to look after and protect the interests of multi-national corporations and the bankster elite. The ordinary people of Britain and the rest of the Eurozone have nothing to loose but their chains as they suffer endless austerity measures, falling living standards, steady encroachments upon their privacy and human rights while being driven to war by a comprador elite that is a vassal of American imperialism.
The Dutch people against massive pressure from the establishment parties recently rejected the EU association treaty with Ukraine. On the 23 June it will interesting to see if the ordinary people of Britain follow the example of the Dutch citizenry and reject the bosses organisation known as the European Union.
Britain ruled colonies. Now it’s a colony. Isn’t that justice?
The drive for power is insatiable. There is never enough.
I hope the Britons vote to exit. But I’m an Irishman with a grudge. My grandfather was born in Ireland and had to leave because of the bloody English. I also hope they get what they deserve.
So I guess I win both ways. Vengeance is mine, says the Lord.
There’s a train wreck waiting to happen. I’ve already exited from the gravy train. If Britons don’t get it we’ll all regret it because there’s a slow train coming for all of us. The boxcars await our decisions.
The supposed different positions between European Financial Dictatorship and IMF concerning the debt relief of Greece, or, the level of primary surplus target, are irrelevant. The supposedly different positions projected by the media, are aimed to disorientate the public, as always, but at the current moment they help especially the Europeans to delay the completion of the negotiations with Greece, in order to focus on the British referendum. They will bargain with the British government and mobilize the “inside mechanisms” of propaganda, in order to persuade the British people to vote against Brexit. Afterwards, they will focus on Greece, and, as has been proved, they will not hesitate to use any means, including a financial coup, to force Tsipras towards every last detail of the Greek experiment.

Off topic, but really interesting question. Some of the European newspapers speculating about the sudden disappearance of Mr .Jaceniuk even some of them have mentioned that he was killed by the few rounds from calasnikov. Is somebody knows about this gossip something more on this precious network?
Please post it.
I sure know where I would like to SHOVE that Nobel Peace Prize!
Why? He might enjoy it.

The evidence is overwhelming that that is
True enough, socho. But as usual the ordinary people are mind control cannon fodder, and mostly had no idea, as they marched off to their doom singing “It’s a Long Way to Tipperary”
https://youtu.be/mPLS5nNFWTU.
Edward the 7th, the Prince of the Isles was the architect of the bloody 20th century. Though he did not live to see his blueprint completed, he got the process well underway many years before his death in 1910 with his successful scheme to manipulate a stupid and vain Kaiser (and fellow German, the Windsors actually being the Saxe-Gotha family……) to dismiss Otto von Bismarck, the last true war preventer of great skill on the continent of Europe.
A bunch of German aristocrats in Britain scheme to have Germany and Russia destroy each other (twice) and destroy a generation of young Englishmen, Frenchment, Germans and Russians, in the process. And where were the people? Under deep mind control, that’s where.
Singing about their sweet hearts as they march off to their muddy, bloody deaths.
Unconscious nations being led by consciously evil oligarchs and psychopaths who view the population as expendables in their quest for tighter mind control and power over domestic and foreign victim populations. Just like in the good ole’ clueless USA, today. As Breaker Morant calmly declared before his execution in South African Boer War, a bloody warm-up for WW I:
“Well, Harry, this is what comes of empire building!”
And then the execution by firing squad, of the two expendable Aussies, sacrificed for diplomatic treachery, as scapegoats.True story related by the third and youngest Aussie in the unit, whose life was spared.
concluding 2 min of the Australian film “Breaker Morant”: https://youtu.be/BI7KJnRlsS4
Harry, a second before his death: “Shoot straight , you bastards! Don’t make a mess of it!”
Correction. It’s been a long time.
Second Aussie is Peter, not Harry.
It’s Harry “Breaker” Morant that says “Shoot straight you bastards…………
I forgot about the lines he recites silently just before his execution, a nice cinematic spiritual touch:
Butchered to make a Dutchman’s Holiday
In prison cell I sadly sit,
A dammed crestfallen chappie,
And own to you I feel a bit–
A little bit—unhappy.
It really ain’t the place nor time
To reel off rhyming diction ;
But yet we’ll write a final rhyme
While waiting crucifixion.
No matter what end they decide
Quick-lime? or boiling oil? sir
We’ll do our best when crucified
To finish off in style, sir !
But we bequeath a parting tip
For sound advice of such men
Who come across in transport ship
To polish off the Dutchmen.
If you encounter any Boers
You really must not loot ‘em,
And, if you wish to leave these shores,
For pity’s sake, don’t shoot ‘em.
And if you’d earn a D.S.O.,
Why every British sinner
Should know the proper way to go
Is: Ask the Boer to dinner.
Let’s toss a bumper down our throat
Before we pass to heaven,
And toast: “The trim-set petticoat
We leave behind in Devon.”
Good and very timely reminder of the multi-headed monster charging for unfettered global dominance.
Yet, as any good text ever written, it can be ‘improved’ by adding contributions from many readers whose collective wisdom may help to increase under understanding of how the AZ empire operates.
My two-bob’s worth contribution is that related to the very foundation of the EU. In a recent post somewhere else in this blog I pointed out that the EU project is a US construct from day one, its progenitor being George Kennan, the man in charge of the European political desk in the State Department, down to his christening of the resulting block as “European Union”.
There are other issues worth clarification/expansion (e.g. the Balkan Wars because the EU was at the forefront of the dismemberment of Yugoslavia) which I will leave for others’ comments. I’m in a generous mood and don’t want to hog the limelight! Actually, I have been partially disabled by a bizarre encounter with an ant (no, it is not a typo, it was not my dear Aunt) it was a real ant. I shall write about it when recovered.
Cheers all round.

As much as I’d like to see the British vote against the EU ,I just don’t see it. I see a repeat of the Scottish referendum. With the British government and propaganda machines pushing against it with every trick in the book. And at the end of the vote, announcing it was defeated by something like 55% to 45% (or some such figure close to that). Then they will say with a straight-face, “The British people have spoken”. They will say its settled now. And not pay any more attention to people complaining, even after reports of rigging the vote start seeping out. That is simply “how” Western Democracy operates. As I keep saying over and over, only revolution can bring change to the West. Its ironic ,that while most of our people don’t see that. Our enemies are quite well aware of that fact. Hence their constant use of “color revolutions” to get what they want. They fully know the power of people to change governments when mobilized. Which is why they try to keep their own people from mobilizing effectively.I’ll believe in change in the West when, and only when, I see “maidan” size crowds in the streets of Europe, battling police, and charging government building. We saw in Ukraine how protests can be used by our enemies for evil. But what we should have taken from that scene, was not the purposes alone of the protests. But the technical lessons from it. That vast masses mobilized, can bring change, even in a modern Europe. Its only the leaders purposes that determine if the technique is used for good or bad.

I must say, this is also what I fear. That there won’t be a critical mass of people who dare to think for themselves and question the “received wisdom” of elites of the dire consequences to themselves of the Brexit. Tey won’t realize that the dire consequences are to the elites, not the normal citizens, who will lose their hard=fought few remaining benefits of the dregs of a social welfare system. Perhaps the more threatening the language from abroad becomes, the more British voters will start to rub their eyes and scratch their heads and wonder just what is going on here. . . Anyone who reads t his excellent post from leon Tressell wouild, I shouild think, run screaming for the Brexits as fast as possible.
One point that he didn’t make (I don’t think) is that the USA is NOT thinking of Britain’s welfare in Obama’s urgings not to leave the EU. It is in the USA’s interests to do so, since it wants to use its British poodle, or puppet, to represent its interests in EU fora—the USA wants to be the ventriloquist behind the British puppet that sits on its lap and spouts what the USA wants it to say. It is so transparent!! Why don’t the Brits get this? It is the USA that needs Britian in this role, Britain does not need the USA. Just as the USA needed Blair to support its Iraq War project and give it cred that it never had until Blair got behind it.
Sheesh. It is depressing.

And depresssing brits don’t get re the TTIP which a recent report stated it was of no value.
Dear Uncle Bob 1 I agree with your thoughts of European union it is the expression of a criminal syndicate, I am a Greek military personal an petty officer Warrant officer

Beautiful, haunting vocal with the video. Who is that singing. What is the recording?

to accomplish this job in their advantage, they apply the same trick as before and during the Scottish Referendum. The British now unpack this Mr. Brown and send him direction Ireland to scare the hell out of the Irish by selling that if UK is leaving the European Union it is very bad for Ireland.
Can you imagine?
And in the same breath the British are complaining, and correctly so, that a US president for the USA is coming to tell THEM how to vote and let them know how much he like the UK to vote on this BREXIT thing.
At least now the British know how it feels when outsiders are interfering in your internal affairs.
The Brexit debate is merely a cat fight between Western imperialist powers–the United Snakes, the United Killers (UK), and other European imperial powers.
Who gives a damn? To hell with them all.
Remember, all these vaunted Western democracies are guilty of waging wars of aggression against Libya and Syria, under the pretext of “defending human rights,” “fighting terrorism,” and other lies. These wars have resulted in the deaths or maiming of 100,000s of people and subjected secular nations to Western-backed Islamicist terrorism–even as these same war criminal states comically propagandize about democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
Then there is the crime of century: the Anglo-American “War of Terrorism” in general and the Anglo aggression against Iraq in particular–a massive crime against humanity that these war criminal nations still arrogantly deny to this very day.
Whether or not the United Killer Kingdom is part of the EU won’t change this fundamental reality one whit.
The UK is guilty of the “supreme international crime” on multiple accounts, based on the Nuremberg Tribunal precedent. As such, the UK deserves to be punished accordingly–EU or no EU.
Obama, the ultimate zio-gay marketing tool. :D

Some additional information on how the EU came into existence:

The German government is worthless, but the German people willl do everything to prevent TTIP. Maybe, after all, TTIP was what we needed to wake up.
Brexiteers should have been prepared for the shattering intervention of the US. The European Union always was an American project.
It was Washington that drove European integration in the late 1940s, and funded it covertly under the Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon administrations.
While irritated at times, the US has relied on the EU ever since as the anchor to American regional interests alongside NATO.
There has never been a divide-and-rule strategy.
The eurosceptic camp has been strangely blind to this, somehow supposing that powerful forces across the Atlantic are egging on British secession, and will hail them as liberators.
The anti-Brussels movement in France – and to a lesser extent in Italy and Germany, and among the Nordic Left – works from the opposite premise, that the EU is essentially an instrument of Anglo-Saxon power and ‘capitalisme sauvage’.

I’ll be honest, I’m struggling to keep up with what Washington’s ultimate goal is for the EU. There are reports of Soros being behind the refugee crisis, sanctions that hurt both the EU and Russia, Obama threatening the UK, false flag operations across Europe, Panama files released to attack Cameron. Can someone make any sense of this or is Washington’s aim to weaken the EU just enough but not break it up entirely!
For the MIC small wars are not enough anymore. They want the big one and Europe has already proven twice to excel in destroying itself.
Everything the US has done over the last few years has generated a flow of money back into the US as stable place in a destabilized world.
An article here. From 2014 but it gives a bit of a picture.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-03-15/new-york-steals-london-s-mantle-as-world-s-top-financial-center
New York replaced London as the world’s leading financial center for the first time, after the City was rocked by a series of scandals and questions over the U.K.’s place in the European Union.
@ Anon:
“I’ll be honest, I’m struggling to keep up with what Washington’s ultimate goal is for the EU [etc]”
The ultimate goal is as ever: Russia. As it was described by Straight-Bat in this Mod’s choice:
“(12) The fifth column of west and central European oligarchy-politicians-bureaucracy-intellectuals (elites-aristocrats following the AngloZionist camp) unmindful of how the living conditions of 90% of their fellow countrymen has been on a downward spiral during past decade, working hand-in-glove with the Saudi-Turkish-Israeli governments (managed by AngloZionist cabal) to bring in millions of ‘migrants’ half of which finally will land up in Salafist mercenary groups based in Europe. When will these fifth column understand that these Salafist will destabilize and destroy the entire European society (including their own home) before achieving the ultimate objective (as set by the AngloZionist cabal) of marching to the borders of Russia?”

In short: the NWO-sponsored Islamification of Europe will bring the destabilization of Europe’s order [that’s why you have big names such as Soros behind pro-refugees and pro-immigrant activist groups], in turn, quite possibly ushering-in civil clashes at best [various riots all over Europe] and civil war at worst. The chaos this type of situation ensues is the perfect cover for wahhabist sleeping-cells to be directed towards the real Hegemon target: Russia.
Probably the main route for infiltration will be Chechnya, this will pit Muslim vs. Muslim, more worryingly; while the Chechens are distracted fending off the invading head-chopping jihadists, the actual main route into Russia will be the treacherous, who else (?) Ukraine!
But to be fair, Russia could be infiltrated from any EU bordering country such as Finland. At the moment; Finland (as well as neighboring Sweden) is being flooded with unchecked, unruly, and possibly criminally-bent so-called “refugees.” There’s no telling how many jihadists are being allowed-in, in those countries or any other EU country for that matter… :/
Meanwhile, Brussels is very keen into fast-tracking as many EU-aspiring countries as possible, chief amongst them: Turkey and Ukraine (worst two possible countries to be allowed into the EU). But there are others as well: Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia…
Think the EU’s bad now? Wait until Albania joins…

“I’m struggling to keep up with what Washington’s ultimate goal is for the EU.”
In my view, that’s quite clear as per the outline of the TTIP. To wit: Unrestrained corporate tyranny once and for all putting an end to the pretensions of “Parliamentary democracy”. Add to this the militarization of Eastern Europe in general and the installation of the Nazi puppets in Ukraine in particular.
As for the refugee crisis, it really is a watershed moment. To the great horror of the reactionary, self-pitying Euro-trash, the US and the EU have opened up the “antiseptic wall” of Global Apartheid (in cooperation with Turkey) to “the great unwashed”. Forget about the notion that crackpot Erdogan “coerced” Western imperialism into “submission”. The fact of the matter is that, from now on, imperialist wars will also be waged with a view to flood the EU labour market with destitute people and not just low-skilled people, mind you.
@ Nussiminen, your comments are always sharp and perceptive. You make a very good point about the intent of the TTIP and the mindset of the Euro-trash (a new term for me which I may reuse.)
My pleasure, S113 !
Indeed, “Euro-trash” is quite apt for people yearning for imperialism without immigrants and refugees. Want to have their cake and eat it.

You guys seen this?
“Vladimir Putin is continuing his restructure of Russia’s security apparatus with a massive reshuffle of law enforcement officials.
The reshuffle, which comes less than a month after the creation of a national guard under the Russian president’s direct command, is seen as a move to tighten discipline in the “power structures” that underlie Mr Putin’s rule.”

Vladimir is smart. he knows how to deal with “power structures”. he will reshuffle power structures which (with time) tend to make or incline to “private” interest nets of corruptions and tend to, also, to be vulnerable to foreign influence. this will entangle part of foreign plans about future russian elections. timing is Putin speciality. why is he doing that now?
Sanjin, you get it. You have answered your own question: It is time, now. Think of it as Preparing The Way.
The part of the article about SYRIZA ( “Election of Syriza a turning point” ) is not truthful.
1) SYRIZA never had a coherent program, let alone an anti-establishment anti-EU program. Their so called program was “mumbo – jumbo” and made no sense. They engaged in populist rhetoric that they will stop “austerity” but they will remain in EU-eurozone (and that’s impossible). They never explained what and how they will do it. It was just bullshit so as to get elected ! They are all talk and no action !
2) Tsipras and SYRIZA were always part of the system and have agreed with creditors and US-EU elites years before the election of 2015. At 2013, Tsipras visited Brookings and Levy Institute. He was groomed by USA as the next greek P(uppet) M(inister).
3) The group of SYRIZA economists (Varoufakis, Dragasakis, Stathakis, Milios, Tsakalotos etc) are of very low intellectual capacity and all are well connected members of the greek oligarchy.
* Stathakis is a shipping magnate with millions of investments in BlackRock. Stathakis even met with Merrill lynch at 2014 to inform them about Syriza’s “program”
http://www.sofokleous10.gr/greek-news/287713-bofa-merrill-lynch-executive-on-syriza-deputy-stathakis-contacts-in-london
* Tsakalotos who grew up in Britain (and educated in elitist colleges), comes from a very wealthy conservative family and has millions of investments in JP MORGAN and BLACKROCK. His political beliefs are strange and absurd as he describes himself as a “Revolutionary Europeanist” (!?), and he supports European Union integration but not its capitalist principles (!).
* Varoufakis’ tenure as a finance minister destroyed the battered greek economy with the imposition of capital controls. Varoufakis is a narcissist and spends many hours everyday giving interviews on TV and promoting his views (and books). Each time he gives different answers depending on the audience, but he remains a staunch pro-EU loyalist. He is rumoured to be an associate of George Soros and was advisor to ex-PM George Papandreou.

3) Prime Minister Tsipras is a very ignorant and uncultivated person. He does not know how to dress properly and how to behave properly in official meetings according to the rules of Etiquette. Just look at how the clown Tsipras got ridiculed at a press conference with Israeli PM Netanyahu.
Tsipras appointed (a friend ?) as a translator that did not know how to speak english …
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPe543inLyk
He has never worked in his whole life, and has appointed numerous friends and families in government posts during his term in office. His views are anti-greek and pro-EU. He flooded Greece with illegal immigrants on purpose.
His Greek and English language / rhetoric skills are very poor and really laughable and remind of the “Borat” film character. It is mystery why Tsipras insists on speaking English even though he does not know how to speak English …
One notable example of his ignorance of world history that he called the “Cold war” as “frozen war” (see the following video)
As for his so called strategy, it is described by Tsipras on the following video.
“Tsipras Describes Strategy for Greek EU Negotiations”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llfQ8pXuBB4
4) As for the so called “this is a coup ” nonsense etc it is not correct at all.
SYRIZA had agreed years before to continue with the IMF-EU austerity program.
The referendum was of no value. It was all political theater. The purpose of SYRIZA and EU was to scare the people so as to vote “YES” and then to blame them for the new austerity program. The people voted “NO”, and SYRIZA and EU continued with business as usual and brought the new austerity measures as they have planned.
Some articles about the greek economic situation that i consider very interesting to understand what is truly going on in Greece.

The sell-out of Greece by SYRIZA and the bankruptcy of the globalist “Left”

Isn’t it the case that fewer and fewer people on this planet have the courage to openly counteract figurea in high positions like Mr. Obama, the current president of US?
I think it is.
If you should act, maybe one thinks he might damage his career or position or pension or family or comes under enormous psychological pressure.
I live in Western Europe. The 20 to 30 year workforce/unemployed are happy so long they have a apple product in their hands. They die happy being cannon fodder with that apple product in their hands. They don’t mind being used by the imperialist. By the way what “imperialists”? Living happy under mothers wings with no worry in the world besides texting and playing computer games.
Besides with that “virtual reality” thingie around the corner reality will become even a more obscure product for the lost generation. Most of them don’t live in a world remotely resembling reality.
Maybe they need Russian bombs on their head to get a good reminder instead of cushy proxy wars they don’t care or know about. They certainly need their toys destroyed to even get the opportunity to see the world for the first time.
@ Bizantura
Well put indeed. For them “reality” is just another game. For their parents the “reality” is what they are told on TV. Sheeple are sheeple and shall always remain sheeple…
“Maybe they need Russian bombs on their head to get a good reminder instead of cushy proxy wars they don’t care or know about. They certainly need their toys destroyed to even get the opportunity to see the world for the first time.”
Ja,you put it correctly, the young generation of today (mostly of them) are missing completely the realities of the true world they live in.As you also say, they need something to happen in order to get them on foot.Maybe they are the primary targets for cannon fodder and the Empire let them have a play, the last one, before sending them to hell. For,one cannot say that somebody has forced them to behave in such a way, letting themselves brainwashed. Now,they enjoy the sweet candy of “western democracy” and accept only the news which are tickling their ears.
@ Bizantura:
While I agree that the under 30’s being perpetually glued to their smart phones and other similar modern devices is beyond contemptuous, at least they are buying and paying for their own gadgets. More worrying is what is goin’ on to the even younger generations – I’m talking about little kids and how they’re even more addicted to their gadgets.
…and those were giving to them by their own parents! :/ (Bravo Mom and Dad!)
But, back to the under 30’s… I think most of this gadget addiction is due to money (same way most addictions tend to stem from a state of deep unhappiness / dissatisfaction with one’s own life). What is cheaper; to stay at home playing a video game or going out and spend money you don’t have? Even going to the movies is getting prohibitively expensive for most families.
Most activities outside the house cost money most people can’t afford. And in this age of ‘austerity’: many free (or near free) public places are being closed down: sport centers, public swimming pools, libraries (etc).
The final kiss-of-death is the work-life balance being completely out of whack. People are working longer hours for less and less pay. Who has the time (or energy) to go out jogging after work and all the commuting that it takes to get back home?
You still have to deduct the hours of sleep, the shopping for groceries, the cooking and cleaning, maybe have a shower… how much time left you have in a finite day of 24 hours? This is why most people succumb to path of less resistance: the gadget to catch-up on facebook or whatever it is that they do online.
So! Far from having a spoilt/cushy life, I think their lives (all of our lives, in fact) are getting more and more restricted/limited as time goes by, with less and less options open to us in the ‘real world,’ while at the same time the ‘system’ is giving people the illusion of having more options than ever before because we have hundreds of satellite channels to choose from or something other equally superfluous.
But! Far from living a “false reality,” most people earning under a certain amount a year are living the only reality available to them = living for work, rather than work for a living.
The one thing I won’t excuse them from, though… is since they have access to the internet, they have no real excuse not inform themselves about political issues that really matter instead of d!cking around on social media.
Unlike previous generations, who relied mostly on their local propaganda bullhorns to get “informed,” newer generations have an unprecedented wealth of information, literally, at their finger tips. They should be using this opportunity wisely.
But… you can only lead a horse to water…

Could NATO indeed fall apart anytime soon?… Or not so soon?…
http://theweek.com/articles/620713/why-russia-nato-ropes :
Why Russia has NATO on the ropes
The latest public surveys in Germany and other NATO members states indicate that a considerable majority of population is against their countries’ military involvement if called by NATO to defend Baltic states or Poland. The article says:
“… The great thing about collective defense is that it greatly magnifies the ability of small states to resist large states. … The Achilles’ heel of collective self defense, however, is that when people don’t believe in it any more, it effectively no longer exists. NATO, it seems, has reached that tipping point. …”
After having become HMS Yank Poodle, can Britain disobey the command from Washington? Isn’t Britain already occupied territory with American boots on British soil? Finally does Do Britishers have the courage to mutiny on HMS Yank Poodle and retreive soverignity from American banksters?
Well, this is a no-brainer indeed. The Offal Office is just about to impose total fascist corporatocracy on the whole of EU as per the TTIP monstrosity and, predictably, with the full approval of the grovelling Eurocrats in Brussels and Frankfurt. And, equally important, we also have to consider “the Russian threat” here. The prospect of destroying and looting Russia once and for all is what is firmly believed to resuscitate the “post-industrial” economy of the Western cesspit. A Brexit is clearly not in the interests of Western imperialism.
At any rate, should a Brexit really come to pass, then it would make pro-EU fanatics such as Syriza, Podemos, and the Ukronazis look like all-out political slobs. A Brexit would be just like the clear verdict by the Dutch against closer Ukronazi association — writ large.
Dear Leon, while I definitely agree with your point that EU is non democratic body that works against the interest of the European nations, I can hardly agree with your také on the refugee crisis. Not sure if you ever heard of the project called European caliphate? If not find out and you will get your thoughts sorted out. Also your info on Roma people in some Eastern european countries is totally wrong. Roma people in the Czech Republic lead a parasitical way of life and the Western NGOs advise them how to best milk the social systém. They do not have to work at all and abuse all sorts of benefits that Czech people cannot claim at all. Their crimes get underreported as police could be persecuted. The again you need to get some facts here first to get credible. Due to this lack of info you do not sound too credible.
You make many interesting points in your article, but there is no doubt that you have a certain point of view and you follow this relentlessly.
Just for the record, I am British, but I live in the EU.
I think the article could mention the positive things (other than 48 hour week) that the EU has bought into the lives of its citizens.
I for one adore the way that I can travel accross the EU without borders. It is a breath of fresh air. Yet, within this huge block, each country still retains their unique cultural identity. When in France you are never thinking that you are in Italy or Germany for example. This is great as it shows the EU has not stamped itself accross the whole of society.
The freedom of movement for people, workers and goods in vital to the economic welfare of the countries in Europe. You cannot ignore that there will be a huge financial impact for Britain and British comapnies (both big and small) if they vote to exit.
What about infrastructure improvement? You cannot travel more than a few km in any european country without coming accross a project that has been partially or wholly funded by the EU. These projects play a great part in improving the life for the citizens of Europe. Of course, the richer, western european countries pay for the development of the eastern european countries, but there is nothing wrong with that. I pay taxes in the EU and I am glad that they are used to help the standard of living for poorer people. Unfortunately in Britain, it is and always has been, US and THEM. Why are we paying towards Europe etc.
All arguements aside. There are over 7 Billion people on this little rock called Earth. If we want to all live in peace and harmony, then we need to make sure that the EU works. If we can’t make this work, then what hope is there that we can create the conditions for peace on a larger scale. The only way to effect the changes that are required in the EU is to do it from the inside.
Just my 2 cents/pence/stotinki/kopeks etc
@”You cannot travel more than a few km in any european country without coming accross a project that has been partially or wholly funded by the EU.”
Surely every infrastructure project has been funded by members’ taxes and other fees etc to EU financial entities. Money doesn’t just rain down on the EU and thence to the member states . . .
Katherine
Of course the money comes from EU taxpayers. The point is that in this system, the wealthier states directly fund infrastructure projects in less wealthier states. Is this not a good thing? However, this also goes further. For example, I live in a small Italian town. With the limited budget of the town hall there is a limit to what projects can be completed and financed. So they can apply for an EU grant and have successfully completed a couple of expensive and major projects. This is the point. We are stronger pooling our resources together, not pulling them apart.
“The point is that in this system, the wealthier states directly fund infrastructure projects in less wealthier states. Is this not a good thing?”
Nope, because way too much of those tax moneys get wasted on more than ever layers of bureaucracy. Please show me the “good thing” for the Greeks. Maybe they got some better infrastructure, while it lasts, but will have to pay for that through the nose. And don’t tell me that it was all the fault of the Greec, who spent too much, that story has proven false.
Nobody talks about how the EU and NATO forced Greece to more than double up on defense spendings, which was a total waste of money and only good for filling the deep pockets of the MIC and ‘involved’ EU bureaucrats. The fact that they can’t even protect their borders against rubber boats and old sloops shows how useful those spendings have been. NOT.
Another example, Serbia, what are we doing for them? They’ve never been as poor as they are today. Oooh yeah, they may (at gunpoint) join ‘our’ wonderful NATO, against Russia and who not of course, and may spend just as much as the Greeks to become the next victim of our economic hitmen…
Understand that I’m from this continent as well and in my over 50 years of travelling I have never really experienced a border problem, and neither a foreign currency problem. With the EU things have changed, but not all for the better, on the contrary. Particular services like banking, government, mail services and tele-communications have virtually all become the same all over Europe and seem all to have followed the worst examples of the bunch. They’re definitely less efficient, way more expensive and we, their clients, have become more a number than a person.
Europe could have been good, but only had it been done totally different, by the people, for the people…

“If we want to all live in peace and harmony, then we need to make sure that the EU works.”
How cute. It’s pronunciamentos such as these that prove the sincerity of the West’s Nobel Peace Prize award in general and some noteworthy, recent laureates in particular. On second thought, what is it that attracts the Ukronazis to philanthropic societies of such fine calibre?
Predicting two months in advance the result of a referendum about such a fundamental question is a fool’s job. Many people decide of their vote during the last weeks or days. Moreoever, as the date draws closer, the debate will probably intensify, with potential to change the result one way or another. Therefore, nothing can be said for now, not even about probabilities.
Obama’s intervention in the debate is actually a good thing: an arrogant lecturing to British people about accepting a reduced sovereignty by a foreign leader who would refuse it out of hand for his own country, that has a potential to awake more Britons to the reality of what they’re up against.
One thing is clear: whatever the result of the vote, it will stay with British people for a very long time, possibly more than a generation. That’s clear enough, if they choose to leave.
But it would be even truer should they choose to remain. If they vote to stay, there will NEVER be another vote like this one for them. They may bitch later as much as they want, they may regret as much as they want their “remain” choice, they won’t ever get an opportunity to correct it.
In this case, they would have to wait for another country (France? Another one?) to tear up the European Union, or for it to dismantle due to other factors. They would not be masters of their destinies.
I’m rather optimistic about the British. Anyway, time will tell, and quite soon.
In the southern part of former Communist East-Germany there __are__ protests (for more than a year already, on a weekly basis)!! Sadly more and more dumb rightwing motivated. On the other hand: At least against the correct people who deserve such criticism. And way much better than the damn passive silence and inactivity. Then back on the first hand again: Weimar 2.0
